Great food and service. The burgers are great and the price is decent for Chicago. Good place for eat while staying at the Hyatt.

Despite the cold modernness of being in the expansive open Hyatt Lobby (constant hubbub and movement), the food was pretty good. I had a grass fed Angus burger with white cheddar (couldn't taste the cheese) with kettle chips for the very reasonable price of $16. My friend had the smoked cashew/grape salad and enjoyed it. I commend them for using local Illinois products in their food choices. They do offer quite a few choices on the menu from hand helds to main dishes to smokehouse offerings. Our server Vanessa was friendly and attentive and the food came out in a reasonable time. It seems to be a very popular place--you might have a wait to be seated--even in the bar area.

I ate here several times over four days. The seared walleye is great. Breakfast was great one day and average the next.

This place is. In the middle of the Hyatt regency in Chicago. This hotel is a hub of activity, and it's sort of like being in the center of a train station with people going and coming all the time. The restaurant is great for breakfast and lunch, with a varied menu and also buffets. Try the kitchen sink chicken soup or the Chicago style hot dogs in addition to the buffet!

Our party of four was seated right away around 9:30 am for breakfast. We all chose to do the breakfast buffet because it included drinks, pastries, fruit, make an omelet station, smoked salmon, pancakes, etc. Our waiter was so nice and very attentive. A little expensive ($24) each for the buffet, but if you lie having a variety of choices it's worth it.

I was just too tired to leave the hotel my first evening so I ate here and was very pleased with the meal. I had the smaller sized potion of meat loaf which was good. I was amazed at the size of the "small" portion, it was huge and had great mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. Service was good and the food arrived pretty quickly. I don't usually eat it hotels so this was a very pleasant surprise.

Great food and very convenient when you are tired from traveling! Our servers were attentive and nice.

this was a great place to grab some lunch at the hotel, the waitress was fantastic though the bus person who was in charge of my water seemed very confused on how to handle delivering my bottled water. There were three of us in our lunch party and all enjoyed the food greatly.

We ate at the ACK on Friday night as part of a large group (table of 10). The restaurant is is in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Chicago, where we were staying for the Lions Convention. The food was very good. I had the Southern Spaghetti. It had Alfredo sauce with burnt ends and collard greens. Very unique and delicious. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. The slowness may have been related to the size of our group. We would go back if staying at the Hyatt again.

Arrived to table with dirty table ware. Ordered off the menu and waited 30 minutes for a waffle and eggs. Asked for ketchup and butter that never arrived. Food was mediocre! The restaurant was half empty. Should have been a clue to us.

I have had breakfast buffet twice. During the weekend breakfast buffet they offer an omelet station which was very good. Weekdays they exclude this and the price does drop. There were many option on the buffet line. The drinks were included and we had coffee, tea and orange juice. The juice tasted fresh squeezed and was so delicious. Keeping this in mind i feel going outside the hotel would not be any less expensive. The two visits i will say the service was excellent and our waiter, Jose kept a watchful eye keeping drinks full, hot water for tea and the table clear of unwanted dishes. There are a few choices for breakfast in the underground at the Illinois center if you prefer to grab something light.

I stayed at the Hyatt for a conference and didn't always have time to go to the loop or Michigan Ave for lunch. American Craft is in the lobby. Even at lunchtime which seemed to be very busy, the service was excellent. No complaints. I was taken care of in a timely manner and the server on both occasions checked in more than once to make sure I had all that I needed. A creature of habit, I had the meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes both times. It was that delicious. My colleague had the Chicago hot dogs and commented that they were authentic! I highly recommend this restaurant when staying at the Hyatt.

I was looking for some tasty American food whilst in the neighbourhood and saw this mentioned on google. It’s in a handy location - especially if you’re staying in the hotel. It’s great for people watching. I ordered the ribs and they were standard sort you’d get in a hotel or Wetherspoons. If you’re not fussy and need something quick then it’s good, if you have tastebuds then not so much.

I ate here with the family while staying in the hotel, the food was hit and miss. My wife’s matzo ball soup was borderline rancid, but my pulled pork sandwich and the kids burgers were decent. We were too tired after a long flight to complain about it. Stick with the basics and this place is fine.

This is the main restaurant in a big convention hotel and it is clear they know they will get business no matter what. It shows. Horrible service including being slow and non responsive and basically indifferent. Food is average. I had to eat three meals here during a major convention and I would have done better with a vending machine.

Had the burger and deep dish pizza. Slightly pricey but you’re in a hotel and we had limited time. Food was tasty and good. Staff was super friendly! Deep dish was awesome!

During my conference I ate here many times because it was convenient, reasonably priced, and the food and service ranged from good to great. I would definitely do that again. Was there on St. Patrick’s Day, and they offered Irish food and drink specials that were quite good. The regular menu had both standard fare and surprising items. Service was consistently good or great.

Was surprised by the food...it is actually pretty good for casual hotel dining. Got the chicken fajitas and the Chicago dog...good sized portions, reasonable value, acceptable service. Only slight negative is a pretty limited menu.

Something for everyone, even an 8 month old. Often replenished, everything fresh and appetizing. Attentive service by all we encountered.

This was the best tuna melt sandwich! Just delicious, All American. My son had the kids meal PB&J. The serving was large enough for two. Delightful service from Vanessa, we enjoyed our lunch

Buffet lunch here is large and tasty. Menu changes day to day and includes two soups, salads, burger and sandwich bar, hot entrees, and desserts. $20 all you can eat. A nice lunch if you are staying in the Hyatt Regency. Try to be seated away from the buffet though - the people milling around your table can get annoying. A few additional entrees can be ordered via traditional table service.

I visited resturant at a late afternoon. It was not too crowded. The staff gave a special attention to my vegiterian food request and suggested few good options to me and my co-worker who is also a veggie. The drinks arrived quickly. Food took approximately 20 minutes but the wait was worth it. Portion size was big and it was well cooked and well served meal.

I stay at the Hyatt Regency often for work. I must say this is one of the best hotel restaurants I've eaten in. Be sure to try the fried chicken and the Mac and Cheese. delicious!

We had Steak Tartare which was very good. Not quite as good as in Paris but what is? Good wine selection and vegan and vegetarian options.

We stopped for a late lunch here in the hotel because we were too hungry to wait to go out to find another restaurant. It was a very pleasant surprise. The food was quite good and my sandwich had alternatives to french fries. I chose "greens" and was surprised to be served a very nice side salad in a separate bowl. The service was also very good,

I ate here coming in to the hotel after a long flight from Europe. The service was excellent and the food was good. It was just what I needed before going to bed after a long flight. The menu contains of traditional american food and it tasted good. They had a good wine selection by the glass.

The alcohol in the drinks went undetectable. Salsa was spaghetti sauce with some onions sprinkled on top. Over priced but service was good.

My friend and I went to Chicago for a few days, just as a girls trip. We happened to pick the week that Chicago was in a polar vortex which is basically a modern day equivalent of the ice age for 3 days or so. We were staying at the Hyatt Regency, which is attached to American Craft, and enjoyed some great breakfasts and dinners there. The first night I had the best BLT sandwich I've ever had (see pic) with a spectacular dirty martini with blue cheese olives. Because we liked it so much we came back, every day we were there, for some apps, our favourite the calamari, and the beer. ALSO, and this is key, when booking the Hyatt you have the option of purchasing breakfast with the room, BEST DEAL EVER. You get a delicious breakfast buffet which includes hot food like eggs, bacon, sausage patties, hashbrowns and smoked salmon, fresh fruit, danishes and bagels, cereal, etc AND you have access to the a la carte menu. We sat next to a series of little fountain waterfalls every morning and given that we had a full schedule while we were in town I was thankful to have the morning meal to fuel my day. Service was amazing, everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a great morning! This will be my go-to for every visit I make to Chicago.

The food is well prepared and tasty. The restaurant is flexible as I had a dish from the lunch menu in the evening. Prices are comparable with other restaurants in the city.

I only had breakfast here -- just wanted something quick. My Greek yogurt and coffee (yes, that's all) was $20. I sure won't be back.

The breakfast here is a decent choice if you're hungry. Lots of choices on the buffet, including smoked salmon, which a lot of places in the US don't go for. The guy at the omelet station will scramble eggs for you, which I highly recommend over the powdered eggs on the buffet line. They could change things out on the buffet offerings a bit day to day, but I suppose that's a minor quibble. The staff are efficient and helpful, the food is plentiful, and the quality (except eggs) is fairly high.

I came here for breakfast while staying in the hotel and was not impressed. While our server was wonderful, the meal itself was just sub-par. With tip, my breakfast was over $30. The food was your standard breakfast that you can get at most hotels, I just could not comprehend that price for the meal I had. There are much better options just outside the hotel, do some research and venture out!

We ate here for breakfast. Knowing that prices would be much higher than higher because it is Chicago and the Hyatt, I was still disappointed in the quality of the food. I had strawberry pancakes. Not only were the strawberries extremely sourare but they were just thrown on the pancakes like an afterthought. There was no strawberry syrup or whipped cream as I have seen in all other restaurants. Since I really don't need the whipped cream that was OK but no strawberry syrup left everything very dry and the maple syrup that I was given was an somewhat unpleasant combination. Had I known this, I would have ordered the less expensive plain pancakes. It was a disappointing end to our 30th anniversary celebration

This was an overpriced lunch buffet consisting of soup, limited salad bar, make-your-own-sandwiches and dessert. It was $18 to go through the buffet and the food wasn't outstanding. The wait staff was very attentive, however.

Great food in the lobby of the beautiful hotel. We're short on staff so it took me 40 minutes for breakfast which they comped and was OK but hopefully that only happens once in a while.

This restaurant has a nice Ambience. It's open and happening. Service is excellent. People are nice. They give you time and space. Food is excellent. Potions are quite good. Consider sharing. Highly recommended.

I stopped to eat dinner for convenience. The quesadilla was good but forgot Sour cream and beer was cold. I would have asked for sour cream and ordered second beer. However 30 mins later, my waiter finally stopped to ask if I wanted another beer....although plate was empty. Politely declined and asked for ticket. I would have thought maybe just me but gentlemen beside me had same issue and waited even longer than I did for them to return with ticket. I would order to take back to room but service was horrible.

Ate at this restaurant several times during my stay several weeks ago. All-week breakfast buffet that is a 10 out of 10 rating. All cold & hot buffet for $24 hits the mark. Personally, I thought the $17 cold buffet was more than enough - muffins, pastries, bagels (with cream cheese, lox, capers, tomatoes, butter, and the works), fruit, yogurt, and other items I probably missed. Lunch both days ended with the same item - kale salad with blueberries, strawberries, vinaigrette, and I added flank steak. Perfect size for the working professional to be filled and keep focus. Did not eat dinner here, and wish I could have! Will definitely eat here again if I am in this part of Chicago.

Had lunch here in the atrium restaurant at the Hyatt. The food was good and the service was spot on. My main issue with the meal was the cleanliness of the water glasses and the silverware. The silverware needs to be replaced, as it appeared old, tarnished, and worn which made it appear to be dirty. The water glasses on the tables were cloudy and dirty looking from a distance. Thinking maybe this was an illusion from the glass, I picked up on of the glasses on my table to inspect and it had truly had smudges all over it.

Wonderful options. Rich macaroni. Flavorful potato salad. Delicious dessert bar. Plenty of seating options.

The service was lackluster. They got the order wrong - I ordered the appetizer and got the entree. I did not feel comfortable sending it back. Plus it took a while to come out. I was without a drink for most of my meal. Do NOT order the salmon with the quinoa patty - the patty was awful (did not eat it) and the dill with cucumber was dull. I did not eat most of the dish and no one asked why or if anything was wrong. They never asked if I wanted dessert or coffee. A big disappointment.

We had dinner here during our stay at the hotel. Good selection of food and drinks. Friendly, efficient waiter who provided very attentive service. Would definitely return on our next trip.

I know hotel bars in Chicago are very expensive and not worth it and this one is no exception. $7.50 for a bad Miller Lite draft. Cmon. I can buy a six pack for that and not in dirty glasses like a friend I was there with received. They have some craft beer available but not worth the price. Move on and if you are stuck there good luck but go across the river to Howell’s & Hood while it is still there until the end of 2018. Much better deal and 125 beers on tap and clean glassware.

Good food and didn't have to leave the hotel after a long day of walking around the city. Just wish the drinks didn't cost so much $$$

Everything we had was tasty. The atmosphere perfect. I loved the chicken soup my husband thought it needed more pieces of chicken but I explained it’s supposed to be like matzo ball soup so a broth. My drink seemed over wrought in a bad way so I gave it to my husband. The server wasn’t very polished but over all I recommend for a convenient work lunch.

I had breakfast here two mornings while staying at the Hyatt Regency. I thought it was terrific. If you go, the best value is the buffet. Pretty much anything you would order a la carte is available on the buffet and it's not much more than the individual items in many cases. (The buffet price was $23.75.) As you might expect of restaurants in any nice hotel, it's not particularly inexpensive but I ate so much at the breakfast buffet that I didn't normally need lunch. And, the food is high-quality, including unlimited lox, which can be quite expensive otherwise. They also have a good cheese and pastry selection, along with nice versions of the "normal" breakfast items such as eggs, breakfast meats, potatoes, etc.

We ate at the American Craft Kitchen one morning for breakfast, and the food was delicious. Our only slight complaints were that the meals were on the pricey side and it felt like the wait staff were trying to do a hard sell of the hot buffet (a couple members of our party only wanted the continental breakfast). That said, the buffet offerings were extensive, with a range of different pastries, hot dishes, cereals, omelettes made to order, etc.

I was at the Hyatt Regency Chicago to speak at a conference. I had dinner and breakfast here, and I want to recommend it to you. It's a large open restaurant and bar on the first floor of the main building. I don't have to tell you that eating in the restaurant of a large hotel is sometimes outrageously expensive, but that's not the case here! Entrees like a large cheeseburger, or what I had -- fajitas (both chicken and beef) are reasonable -- the burger and chicken fajitas were $16, the beef fajitas were $18. The fajitas were some of the best I've had -- anywhere. Very large portion, great sides. I was really impressed. d The breakfast was also good. I had coffee and french toast -- around $20, which is more of what I expected at a hotel, but the dinner was a great value.

Opted to have breakfast at that hotel and i wasnt impressed. The service was great and the server was very attentive in taking orders and topping up glasses, but could care less when u didnt even eat half your breakfast. I had just ordered the strawberry pancakes and i was expecting one of two things; strawberry within the pancakes or fresh strawberries. When my order arrived i received the last but the strawberry wasnt fresh at all. They were mushy and damaged, so much that they were bleeding into the pancakes and that was a major disappointment from such a high end restaurant.

Inside Chicago Hyatt regency ..serves breakfast lunch & dinner has buffet or you can order from menu.. we ordered from menu each time not to big on buffets ..also has a bar..waiters are courteous and attentive..everything we ate was good we ended up eating here for most meals but it is a little pricey

I am gluten/dairy free and a vegetarian so eating out can be difficult while traveling. They had a few different options and even a gluten free bagel for breakfast!

When staying in Hyatt we had sometimes our lunch there. The food is nice, the price fair, the service very fast.. All you need for a quick lunch before going back to work.. Great chicken soup also!

Staying one night at the Hyatt for a meeting. Ran down to the restaurant for a bite to eat. Not busy. Sloooooowwwww service. And expensive for a standard burger. I had the bourbon burger. Food was decent but nothing special. Chips were cardboard. Awful. It wasn't worth $17.

This place was in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. The only dinner I at at the hotel was here. The food was good, beer selection was good and it was relaxing to take in a ball game at the bar.

If looking for a full breakfast but hate buffets, the breakfast menu here has lots of variety and good choices. I had an egg white omelette as big as my head and filled with a variety of meat and vegetables. The coffee was very good in comparison to typical "hotel coffee" and the servers were an absolute delight. A bit pricey, but worth it.

I normally wouldn't even look at hotel food as an option for a healthy, quick and reasonable choice. Silly me. The lunch menu has something for everyone--including vegans :-)! The fava bean sandwich was delicious. Hubby had a turkey burger he said the same about. Good service, nice atmosphere.

Excellent dinner, diverse menu, appreciate healthy & vegetarian options. Ordered food to go, salmon edamame delicious. Not your typical hotel restaurant, much better. Highly recommend.

We arrived at the Hyatt after a long flight so decided to have a quick dinner here. The woman next to us experienced slow service but ours wasn't too bad - we must have picked a lucky time. My partner had a Veggie Burger and I had a soup of the day (broccoli). The soup was tasty but I was disappointed with the little packet of biscuits to accompany it - a bread roll would have been much nicer. My husband enjoyed his burger though it wasn't anything special. We enjoyed a beer and cider with it. Service was ok though not especially friendly. I also had a coffee one day which was very good. We found a cheaper and better place for breakfast less than a 10 minute walk away.

The restaurant was not busy but it was hard to find my waitress. The other hotel employees were attentive but the restaurant employees were not. My soup was inedible. When I was finally able to find my waitress she returned it to the kitchen and got me a bowl which was less salty. I think that it was bouillon instead of chicken broth. The matzo ball was so dense that I needed a knife rather than a spoon to taste it. I had this with a glass of wine. I did not want to try anything else after this.

I had two dinners, one breakfast and room service. Other than being a bot pricey, it was good. Excellent homemade chicken soup!

Not a buffet fan but this one was fresh and had lots of great options. A little pricey but they have a captive audience so they can get away with it. Service was very good, coffee and water kept filled by the attentive staff.

Our first meal here, an early lunch was a bit of a disaster. Our coffee arrived cold, our entrees arrived cold. My sandwich was edible at room temperature but my husband had to send his meatloaf sandwich back to be re-heated. It would have been comical if it wasn't so inept. The breakfast buffet on the second day was much better. Nothing outstanding but it's hard to mess up when you get to choose your own items and you're serving yourself. As you would expect, the buffet doesn't come cheap, you are really just paying for the convenience of the location, especially when you're attending a conference at the hotel. Lunch on the 3rd day consisted of two soups, both chicken broth based and served with a plain dinner roll with butter. All in all, I like the space. There's lots of TVs, all on mute, including CNN Fox and ESPN. newspaper are available for review. It's fine for the business traveler but I wouldn't make a trip out of my way to dine here.

After a long flight to Chicago we checked in and decided against an evening walk in the chilly city. Option instead for this restaurant in our hotel lobby. We were served quickly and genuinely by our waiter. I enjoyed the burger and a couple of local brews (Goose Island 312 Revolution Bottoms Up) While my colleague selected the salad/food bar. Food was above average and reasonably priced.

Prices are consistent with Chicago area. Many Gluten Free entree"s which was good for a celiac person. Did not have the buffet but many choices were available

Ok for a meal if you are hungry and don't want yo leave the hotel. Nothing special in terms of taste or surroundings but does have healthy options. Nothing wrong with it but nothing outstanding either

I stayed at Hyatt for 7 nights. Ate & drank here about 5 separate times. 2 of them were good and 3 not so good. Most consistent issue was service. The staff seemed overwhelmed, distant and scattered most of the time. Both times were for breakfast and once for just cocktails. Being from the NW I appreciate a good IPA. Hopothesis was a terrific IPA to have on tap and I came back just for that beer. There's an underlying vibe here .. Breakfast buffet isn't anything to write home about nor are breakfast menu items.

We ate here both mornings that we were in Chicago. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, both on the buffet and off the menu.

Terrible food at stiff prices. There was no aspect of my meal, including the alcoholic drink that lacked alcohol, that I could recommend. The setting is pretty. And a very long wait to get a table. Look elsewhere.

I ate here twice, both times for breakfast. I had the buffet the first day. They have made to order omelets, and everything else you could possibly desire for breakfast. Unless maybe not any asian style breakfast - I did not check. The service is fast and courteous.

Our experience with a server named Ronald at American Craft Kitchen was disappointing. Ronald's behavior was characterized by rudeness, rushing, and inattentiveness, and he lacked eye contact. On the other hand, the lady server provided excellent service, exhibiting politeness and a friendly demeanor. Unfortunately, this encounter left us with a negative impression. However, we remain hopeful that steps will be taken to rectify these issues in the near future.

Very convenient place to meet for a business breakfast. The service, coffee and food were really good. A little pricey but good.

This is a hotel restaurant, so I kept my expectations moderated. It’s also a convention hotel so big crowds are to be expected. But this is at a flagship Hyatt property that does high volumes week in and week out, so they should have their act together. Sadly they did not. Waited too long for the host to acknowledge me, too long for the waiter to acknowledge me, and too long for the food to arrive. I ordered the Brisket for dinner - their headline entree - and it came out cold and stiff… not as expected at all. The sides were piping hot so I know the plate came out fresh, but the brisket itself was cold and not at all tender. All other aspects of this restaurant make me wary. Simply put there are way too many better options in Chicago for you to settle here, even if it is convenient.

Restaurant is located in the hotel lobby. We dined here for 2 separate meals, lunch and dinner. Restaurant was not crowded for either and we didn't have to wait. Each meal had limited food option but there was a very nice lunch buffet. Convenience of this hotel restaurant makes it a good pick.

One may not expect a hotel restaurant to offer generous servings, but this restaurant delivered. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Dining with a couple of colleagues the night before the start of a conference, we each ordered something different. I considered the baked/rotisserie chicken (I can't recall exactly which preparation method was used), but ended up ordering a sandwich. My colleague, however, ordered the chicken and it was a half of a chicken. We were so impressed that such a generous portion would be served. My sandwich was also very generous, in fact I did not eat most of the bread since the meat portion was large enough to fill me. If you're staying at the Hyatt, I definitely recommend you give the restaurant a try; especially if you are tired and don't want to venture far (which we were after a day of travel). Service was also excellent!

I've been to this spot for breakfast lunch and dinner now during a business trip. My breakfast was standard issue nothing all that good but certainly served its purposes. Expensive in my opinion though for what you are getting. Lunch was great went with a couple co workers we all enjoyed our orders I had a turkey sandwich and fries. Decent. A little pricey but expected. Dinner was the biggest miss for me. Very limited options almost nothing for a vegetarian (my daughter) to eat and what we did get was rather bland. I would go again for breakfast in a real lunch or lunch anytime but not dinner.

The food is quite good, for American standards. That does mean a lot of calories, and more use of salt than you'd normally see in Europe.

We had drinks here the first night of our stay along with roasted garlic hummus. All excellent. Ate here again for lunch the next day. The menu in the restaurant didn’t match the one on the display screen - which showed a number of vegetarian options. Very professional and helpful staff - prepared excellent vegetarian options as the display screen menu was out of date. Definitely get the black quinoa cake!

We were happy with quality and taste of our meat. Service was friendly and entertaining. In walking distance to Hyatt Regency Hotel

My husband and I arrived pretty late in the hotel so after we checked in, we wanted to grab a quick bite. We came here an hour before closing time and Darren was our server. We noticed that the restaurant was short handed since it seems like Darren was the only person helping every table. He mentioned they didn't expected to get so busy an hour before closing time and he apologized. He was very warm and nice. He managed to take care of us like we were his only customer. He was very professional but friendly. We started with some calamari which we enjoyed. When we mentioned that we will share our salad and the burger that my husband ordered he said that is not a problem. When he brought our food. It was nicely split into two. Usually when we tell our server that we will share our meal, they will just give us an extra utensils. We were blown away by Darren's service. He truly made us feel special. The next morning, we went to the breakfast buffet and once again, we were provided by another excellent service by Jose Zumba. He greeted us with a big smile. You can tell he loves his job. He was so nice to us and made sure we have everything that we need the entire time. He checked on us few times to make sure we are enjoying our meal. The omelette station was great! The coffee was good and the orange juice was fresh. We truly enjoyed both our meals. Thanks to the wonderful staff!

My friends and me while on Vacation came to eat breakfast while staying at the Hyatt. One friend is gluten free but they had GF bread and even a GF bagel available to her as a choice that gets 5/5. Another friend wanted a waffle instead of French toast for a combination special and the server said no problem he even split the food into 2 plates so we could share the food. The service is outstanding as there is always someone willing to help you even if they are not your server. We all enjoy our food and ate there every morning while staying there. 1 day we tried the buffet and let me tell you it was worth the price in food and drinks offered we had premium bagels and donuts and were satisfied with the quality of the food.

We popped into Hutch on MLK. The didn't continue the weekend menu even though it is usually considered a 3-day weekend and other places extend weekend specials during long weekends (if they are open). Many places were closed and it was one of the few places open and was crowded. Out wait wasn't too long. Our server was sub-par at best and very cold to our table. He wasn't friendly, took our drink and food orders and our food came out before our drinks. One person asked for mustard with their burger and he forgot about it. He basically came back to check on us when we were 70% through our meal. The poor food runner/busser was more attentive to our table and should be promoted to server. The food wasn't hot when it came to the table either so it may have sat for some time. I wouldn't go back and if I did I would not have that server.

The quality of the food was excellent. The menu was limited, but there were enough items to satisfy most tastes. The quality of service was also great. The tables were so far apart that you almost got the feeling you were dining alone instead of in a restaurant. It was a little pricy, but you can expect that from a restaurant that is attached to a Hyatt.

Had the breakfast buffet: good variety of pastries, savory and sweet dishes and fruits. You can also ask for egg dishes to be made on the fly. Service was excellent. Newspapers (Chicago Tribune and WSJ) available for free. There is "a la carte" breakfast as well. Prices also a bit overpriced IMHO.

We decided to try American Craft and Bar since the hotel offered a $25 credit. Unfortunately, this was the only negative experience during our stay at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. I ordered the Jack Daniels wings and my wife had the burritos, with fries on the side. While the fries were good, the wings lacked flavor and the burrito was disappointing. Considering we arrived right when the restaurant opened at 5:00, we expected hot food, but everything was served lukewarm. Overall, not a place we would choose to dine at again.

Just happened to be staying at the hotel for a wedding the weekend of the Cubs Parade. Poor planning on the hotel to not realize they needed more than 2 waitresses for that day. Big Restaurant for just 2 waitresses to cover. Food and drink took forever. Plus a millions of extra people in the city wanting to eat and drink after the parade. Great atmosphere though but to wait that long when you are a guest of the hotel and just want a bite to eat is ridiculous. I have to say that the waitresses did a great job in trying to keep everybody happy but there was only so much they could do.

Prices were high, but probably normal for the area. Great breakfast buffet, but also pricey. Service was very good.

Went here between meetings in the hotel and service was excellent, food well prepared and check came quickly. Ate at the bar section and Mohammed was hustling but on top of his game. Nice selection of food and drink.

Cool place inside the Hyatt Regency Downtown. Great service and tasty food. Good options in the menu

The wife and I had the buffet. Although it wasn't the best we ever had, it certainly was enjoyable. The service was outstanding even though it was a buffet. We had everything we wanted in a breakfast. The food was fresh, hot and plentiful. No complaints.

I had dinner at American Craft as a rain storm made it too unpleasant to go wandering around outside. I had a half order of the Southern Spaghetti and it was very good and very filling. The Hyatt is a very nice hotel and American Craft has several BBQ items on the menu including the spaghetti. Not sure where the smoker is and the restaurant has no BBQ ambiance but the food is good. I did see a full order of the spaghetti go by in it looked huge. Okay service but you are in the lobby of the hotel.

Two hours in a slowish environment...twenty minutes for a water...half hour for the beer; you can imagine how long the uninspired entrée took (incidentally, it was nearly an hour for a meh pasta dish). Didn't look like it was great before the pandemic from the reviews but ye gods! Drink a bottled water and eat a granola bar--I've had gas station experiences better than this.

...food is just ok , buffet style while I was there but not impressive but expensive considering what was offered.

average breakfast buffet but expensive. 25,00 per person is a bit much, can go around the corner and have an excellent breakfast for less than 15.00

Breakfast got the steak and eggs and my steak was overcooked. Lunch one day I got the blt and it was. No complaint. When I ordered room service I think my food was prepared here. Hamburger was ok. Chicken noodle soup was really good.

Actually ate here twice for breakfast and once for dessert during our stay at the Hyatt. The breakfast was expensive, buffet being 24 dollars a person. The girlfriend and I split a Mexican skillet one morning and a Corn beef and Hash burrito the other morning. Both of them were very good. Tried the chocolate cake for dessert one night, it is definitely for two, if not three people. The cake was amazing and together we couldn't finish it! The wait staff did a very good job.

If you are at the hotel for a meeting, this has pretty good food and the quality is good. However, there is nothing super special about it. Because it is a hotel, the prices for a meal are high. The service is excellent.

between meetings I grabbed a quick lunch. The Kale salad with steak (cooked to perfection) had just the right amount of dressing. They say the items are locally sources, and everything was fresh tasting. The buffet was a bit pricey for lunch ($23 I think) and it was too much food.

I was staying in this hotel and only had a bowl of soup so I don’t know that I’m the best one to write a review , but the service was good and the soup was good. I ordered a large soup for $10. The smaller size was $7 and probably would have been enough but it was the only thing I was eating for lunch so I wasn’t sure . The soup was a combination of matzo ball, kreplach and noodle soup with plenty of carrots. The nice thing - it wasn’t over salted like many soups I order in restaurants. I would probably eat here again if necessary, but there are so many awesome choices for restaurants in Chicago!!

We just stopped for desserts and had the apple pie (serves 2) - it was home made and super delicious. We also had the Gluten Free Brownie - we were fighting over it at the end. It is made out of almond flour. Served warm with ice cream. I will be back for that one. Have not eaten any meals here or had a drink.

I avoid restaurants in a hotel, but went here for a quick meal -- and to a pleasant surprise. There is a selection of fresh draft beer, and good food. Service was wonderfully friendly. Perhaps a bit overpriced compared to restaurants outside the hotel, but still not too bad. Next time at the Hyatt, I'll eat there again and look forward to it.

This restaurant located on the ground floor of the Hyatt has a wide variety of items. Service is spotty and the fare, while not special, is fine for grabbing a quick something between meetings at the hotel.

What did we like? Location, it was convenient, we were staying in the hotel. Breakfast Buffet was enjoyed by most of our party and felt it was a good value. The pulled pork, burger, sweet potato chips and fries were excellent. What did we not enjoy? Too noisy, terrible open design - you can't even hear people at your table talk if the upstairs bar or lobby is full of people. Our servers were okay, however being a family traveling great distances for a wedding, we stayed long at breakfast. Clearly this annoyed our server as he asked us four times if we were done, not if we needed anything else, just if we were done. Fill ups on coffee and drinks was a challenge and told each time, they are understaffed. However we saw many people not doing anything as their section/tables were empty. Where is the team work? Even in the bar area our last day we sat 30 minutes until a server came. We asked the bar tender twice and she said "I'm all alone, what can I do?" Two people at your bar, ask us what we want? Our order was taken, drinks arrived 15 minutes later, again, a server complaining I am the only one working both sides. We finished and asked for the bill and the reply "one drink and you're out"? "Yes, one drink took over an hour and we have to leave in three for the airport". My dry humor was missed….as the comment was "okay, you're loss". Her humor was missed on us as well.

I was staying at the Hyatt Regency for 5 days for a conference and spent significant time at American Craft (because its the only place to eat in the hotel for lunch). The service was great in the actual restaurant but terrible at the bar. The bar tenders are rude, slow and basically just ignored me on more than one occasion. The waitstaff around the bar is very slow. As I write this, I'm sitting at a table by the bar and have been waiting for someone to bring me a menu for 10 minutes. Not what I would expect of a bar at such a nice hotel. As for the atmosphere, the location is nice as its the center of the hotel with windows all around and lots of people around, which I liked.

Great variety of fast American food and a great menu for kids. The quality of the food was second to none and the portions were very generous. Service was great and we had a great evening. We were able to sit down and dine comfortably - all four of us, for a moderate price. Definitely come back

Not want to go far for dinner while on a business trip, we settled on the hotel lobby/bar restaurant. But we were in for a surprise when the food was excellent. I started with a southwester chicken and rice soup following by texmex beef fajitas. Both were amazing and full of flavor. My co-worker had the brisket and it was great as well. Service was good, we were warmly greeted. Our order was taken quickly, it took a bit longer than usual to arrive but was served very hot. Our waiter kept checking on us through the meal.

The Kitchen and Bar is on the ground level of the Hyatt Hotel and is very large and could not be described as intimate. I had a business lunch here and the food was good and reasonably priced for the hotel. The menu suited our part of four.

We had a lunch break and decided to grab a bite in the hotel restaurant. My food was terrible. I ordered fajitas thinking they'd be grilled chicken and vegetables but not thinking they'd be in a pan full of grease. The server brought 2 tables' food at once, so our food sat while he served the other table. So, mine was cold when it finally got to me. I sent it back but what came out was not really any better. I ate the tortillas, cheese and sour cream.

My husband and I ate here while staying at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. The restaurant was extremely busy so service was a little slow but good came out quickly. My husband ordered the Chicago style hot dogs and I ordered the chicken sandwich. Husband enjoyed his hot dogs. I really liked my chicken sandwich. I believe the menu said it was supposed to be spicy but there was nothing spicy about it. I would have enjoyed it being spicy. Still delicious though.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency last weekend and ate at this restaurant the first night of our stay. We arrived around 7:30 p.m. The waiter took our order quickly and brought our drinks. However, he did not check on us as we waited an hour for hamburger and french fries. The food tasted ok but was not worth the wait or price. Recommend walking a few blocks for better food and service.

My friend and I grabbed breakfast one morning while staying here. My Baked French Toast was delicious; she said the same about her single waffle. We split an order of bacon and each had coffee. The bill for those simple items was $52.00. This is not a place I would take the entire family as $100 for breakfast seems excessive.

I have been visiting this Hyatt for several years. Usually I eat out, but occasionally I'll eat at this restaurant because of weather or because I'm pressed for time. Except for breakfast, the place is usually half empty. Despite this, service is slow, and while friendly, t=not very efficient. The food is mediocre at best. This time I had a cream of cauliflower, which was good, although at the bottom there was this ball of un-melted cheddar cheese. Clearly, the kitchen did not re-heat it for long enough. Then, I had the rotisserie chicken. The chicken was good, although not excellent. It was surrounded by this grossly overcooked, mushy mass of vegetables that were totally inedible. Imagine mushy asparagus, broccoli and watery zucchini. I skipped the dessert and withdrew to my room.

Dry food- of inconsistent heat- kitchen overwhelmed by number of diners. Crazy for a Hyatt- loud environment dirty glasses at table when we arrived. Bad experience all around

The service was fantastic! Some of the best ever. But, the buffet, and I admit not being a buffet fan, leaved something to be desired. Average only. poor toasters, cold eggs, omelet line ups...all gone food, all of the buffet problems. Ordering off the menu, was very much better, but one day told order of the menu OK as the check in desk explained, second day NO, must be Buffet, third day maybe some items...they need to get on the same page.

Nothing over the top, just a comfortable, classic menu that all should be able to find something to make them happy!

Located in the main lobby at the Hyatt Regency this is a great place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner, just remember the price is a little higher since its a nice hotel. Service is great. Food is very good and there is a good selection. Nice bar where you can catch a game also. Recommended.

I ate here because I was too tired to venture outside the hotel. The Caesar salad had way too much dressing on it. The ribs were ok... Kinda bland. Just not a good selection.

Like most hotel restaurants, this one offered up a limited menu and bland food. The wait staff were prompt and polite, but the food was unimaginative and very "safe". I had "pasta with meat sauce" that was actually a decent bolognese. Something your mother might make for company she didn't know very well.

Stayed at the hotel for a conference. I was running late so i thought this would be a good way to get a good quick meal. I was mistaken. Service was pretty slow and inconsistent. The food was overpriced and bland. Not good. For the price, you can get much better food elsewhere.

I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency and this place had awesome food! The staff were so nice. I had 18 people in my group. They found us a table together and they were very helpful the rest of the night. We tend to eat and then sit around and talk for long period of time. And we did. Our reservation was for 7pm. We left the table at 11pm. And they didn't say a word to us about wanting us to leave. Even coming back often asking if we wanted more water, tea, drinks, etc. The food was so good. We have food off the menu as well as the buffet they had set up. Farm to table with everything being fresh. So good. Price is high, but worth the money in my opinion.

We stopped by this restaurant twice during our stay. Once for cake to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The dessert choices were yummy. We also had dinner there one evening. I chose the pulled pork sandwich...note to self...don't order pulled pork when not in the South. I expected a BBQ pork sandwich...there was nothing BBQ about this sandwich. It was good, but not what was expected. The side of sweet potato chips were good :-) My friend had Chicken Noddle Matzo Ball soup and loved it. Meal prices were high, but we expected that, so it was not a concern. Service was good.

Fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, soup and salad were both well made. Apple pie was excellent! Service was prompt but unobtrusive and they made me feel comfortable dining alone.

The food here has never been bad or disappointed. It is in the hotel so it is convenient and the menu is creative and local ingredients which is nice.

Service at the restaurant was mediocre (which was odd cause other hotel staff were amazing), choices were limited, hours weren't great and food was boring. With so many restaurants a short walk away I wouldn't bother with hotel food.

Excellent buffet breakfast with an omelette station. Food was fresh and very good, and they even served smoked salmon which was terrific. Friendly service and quick!

This restaurant is in the lobby of the hotel, so you can't beat it for convenience. There were many empty table when we arrived, but we were told it would be a 10 minute wait. They were anxious to explain that they had just sat many parties and wanted to be sure we got the best possible service. It wasn't an overly long wait and we were happy to wait. The server was wonderful. Despite the fact that she was very busy, she was friendly and funny. The food was quite good, I had the meatloaf which absolutely hit the spot after a long day of travel.

Wasn't feeling great during recent Hyatt stay. American Craft Kitchen and Bar staff were accommodating, extremely helpful and understanding. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

While staying at the Hyatt, I had a few meals here and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and the choice of menu items. Really enjoyed the Butternut Squash Soup (soup of the day) and the Traditional Tuna Salad Melt. My companions ordered the Chicago Dog, which looked way better than the one I got at Portillo's, and the Rotisserie Chicken, which was super generous portion and apparently had an amazing side of veggies.

We ate several times for breakfast which consists of a buffet with eggs to orders service. We also ate lunch once. The breakfast is very good and complete. The lunch a la carte was also very good. I ate a salmon which was welll prepared.

Great beer menu and fairly healthy choices on the menu. Good avocado toast for breakfast. Servers were attentive but the reception people at breakfast seemed put-upon and like they would rather talk among themselves.

I had breakfast every morning while I was staying in the Hotel. this is the only place you can have good and fast breakfast in the Hotel if you don't want to go out. Staff was friendly and the food was really good. I have enjoyed eating here.

Very nice and efficient restaurant in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency. Great for breakfast or any time in an informal setting

We had an excellent dining experience here! After a long trip, we just wanted a nice, comfy place to unwind and have a great meal. This exceeded our expectations. Great menu options (fried chicken was better than we've had in Atlanta), and signature cocktails (Lemon drop martini was superb)! The staff and service were exceptional!

Loved the whitefish, catfish and calamari. The service was efficent and friendly. Especiallt Judith.

Ate here the other night because it was in the hotel and wanted a quick dinner. Even by buffet standards this was really disappointing. All the meats were so covered in BBQ sauce you could taste anything else. The clam chowder wasn't bad. The highlight was when a waiter came by with a tray and spilled a beer down my back, He was much more concerned about getting a new beer then helping me. He was nice enough to drop some paper towels as he ran past my table (Sarcasm here). I thougt for sure the meal would be comped but NO. In fact I was charged for my drink even though it was supposed to be included. I did make the waiter correct this just out of principle (He acted so surprised when I brought it up). Avoid this place.

The ribs were served cold and dry, with over at least 2 days old coleslaw. My son's chicken strips and our ribs were just from a bag, same thing you can buy in Sams etc. Microwave was the "heating" way.

The have good sandwiches, but they are pricey. Noise level is moderate. Great drinks and atmosphere. Great breakfast buffet

The American Craft Kitchen occupies the spacious atrium at the entrance to the Hyatt. Once seated, the setting actually seems cozy. The menu is varied but nicely focused. Service was attentive and efficient. We both started with a delicious red bean and turkey soup. One main dish was a generous serving of meatloaf with an appealing mushroom gravy. The mashed potatoes and carrots made for a nice color contrast to the meatloaf. All were served in an oval cast iron skillet. The Moroccan chicken and couscous bowl was artfully arranged and filling and included a salad and fresh pita slices. It's much appreciated when one can get high-quality food at a reasonable price in a hotel premises.

We ate here a few times while staying on site. It was a convenient location and price was comparable to other restaurants in the area. Food was good but service was sometime lacking. I will say that the management was very accommodating to the special dietary needs of my travel partner. However, table service was slow and we didn't see the waitstaff often.

Go here if you're tired or desparate for food for whatever reason. It's not the best but it's doable. Pricey but you're at the Hyatt Regency.

The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff was friendly. I ate here several times with my mother and twin 2.5yr olds while my husband attended a conference. The vegetables were amazing, but traditional dishes are hit or miss. Meat loaf was amazing, chicken noodle soup came with a huge, tasteless matzo ball. The salads were also a bit too fancy. Some came with massive artichoke and half a chicken breast. It was hard to eat and just average. The service was kind to our family and treated the kids well. The kids foot was very good quality. I sometimes ordered them an entree to split. Overall good and a bit pricey. We ate at the corner bakery for breakfast around the corner and that was also good and a bit less expensive for a family.

The restaurant is located in the business lobby of the entrance of the hotel. Very well appointed and simple and clean. The waiter was efficient and knowlegeable about the menu items, not hurried. The menu prices were fair and the food ordered was delicious and abundant.

Let say it was the long Labor weekend. It was busy. The breakfast buffet was $24 per person. So We ordered 2 American breakfast plates at $17. Which was 2 eggs over easy and 2 sunny side up, those were half cook. Dry Bacon. Sausages Nothing exciting. The buffet looked good. Not much choices but it seems fine. Service was quick.

It was excellent,. I included my restaurant review as part of my hotel reviiew. Check there for my kudos to servers, staff and management.

Enjoyed the meal and the service. Overall we were very happy with the experience. Prices were a bit high since it is in the hotel.

My 7 year old son and I ate here during our 1 night stay at the Hyatt. The menu was fairly limited and overpriced. I ended up choosing a tuna melt for $17. The sandwich was average and the service OK.

Had to eat here twice because of our work schedule. The first day it was good. One of us had a turkey sandwich with sweet potato chips. One of us wanted a Chicago hot dog so ordered that. Another person had the lunch buffet for $19.99. Pretty good deal considering most entrees are about $14 on average. The second day, we ordered different items and didn't like it as much (the pasta with broccoli pesto wasn't good and it didn't even come with a piece of bread or a breadstick). Once again, the buffet was the way to go. It includes soups, salads, lunch meat/ sandwiches and dessert.

Breakfast was pleasant and pretty good. Corned beef hash and eggs with toast. Lots of good jams on the table. Buffet was available but we chose off the menu.

They have good service and good food. First visit, lunch. I studied the menu while sipping a Blue Moon draft. They have about ten beers on tap. Many items sounded good and I saw customers around me sampling several of the choices. I picked the Ruben and was not disappointed, it was very good. Late in the day I returned with friends for a night cap. One had a Margaretta one a soda and I checked our draft again. Good service, prices were big city high but that goes with the territory. I will probable do another meal here befor settling on a final score, but they are defiantly climbing out of 8 territory towards a 9 or 9.5. This is the second "good place" on the Hyatt property. That does not happen often at big hotels.

On a rainy Saturday evening, we traveled through the Chicago Pedway to the Hyatt for dinner. The restaurant was half empty, but there was still a 30-45 minute wait for a table. When our table was ready, we were seated and given menus and then waited. And waited. When our waitress finally appeared, we ordered cocktails and dinner. After about 15 minutes, the drinks arrived for four of us, but not for the fifth person. She waited at least 10-15 more minutes for her drink. Then we waited for dinner. When dinner was finally served, my quinoa salad didn't match the description on the menu, and the chicken was missing from another salad. A slab of chicken was delivered to our table about ten minutes later. Nobody ever came back to our table to ask how everything was, or if we needed anything. We finally flagged down our waitress for the check. She seemed startled by the request and disappeared for another 10 minutes, then came back to ask us what we ordered. After waiting again, she delivered the checks, which were all mixed up. We just gave up, paid, and left. Almost 2 hours for a mediocre salad and one drink in a half empty restaurant. Pros: accessible via the Pedway so we didn't have to go outside in the rain, vegan/vegetarian options available. Cons: pretty much everything else.

Located right in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency, this open air restaurant offers an amazing buffet. Went to breakfast and lunch. Tons of options and something for everybody! The meatloaf was delicious!

The portion size of the breakfast entrees is too big. My husband had a veggie omelet and I had an egg, cheese, and bacon breakfast sandwich. The omelet was huge! My husband said it wasn't a fluffy one which might make it look big - he said it was dense. He also said it tasted very good, but half of it would have been enough. My sandwich was also much too big. I couldn't eat half of it even though it was delicious. I wish they'd offer half size portions.

Great breakfast buffet, veggie eggs and fresh fruit. $24 for b-fast, Mixed juices, friendly staff, ate twice while at hotel.

My daughter and I stayed at the Hyatt, and arrived well after dark. We were tired after our flight, and my daughter wanted to order room service when I suggested that we try one of the on-site restaurants. I am glad that she agreed! Our server gave us just enough time, and it was quite lovely - considering that it was located in a two story atrium, the design of the restaurant felt cozy yet open. I have a concern eating nuts/seeds, and our waitress was very on top of this. The chef even came out to speak with me! We ended up sharing a dinner salad and a burger, and were happy with our choices. The burger was cooked to perfection, with a slightly rustic roll, and the salad was very fresh. The house red wine was also excellent. I would eat here again, especially for the excellent service that we received. Also, it is challenging to rate whether it is mid-range or fine-dining - it feels somewhere in between. High mid-range.

This place was great. It's not cheap but it was reasonably priced given the hotel location. It's a relaxed dining option and ideal for a lunch meeting. I thought the food was excellent and healthy. Service was pleasant and efficient. You can do a buffet or order from the menu.

We were staying at the hotel for the marathon and were looking for a place close with a variety of foods. The buffet was good ,good variety and clean. The price was good 20 bucks for all you can eat. Overall a great option for lunch or dinner

It's in a great location right in the middle of Hyatt's fabulous lobby in the East Tower. Serves American food and I would recommend their soup of the day, the blackened catfish with mac & cheese was great as were their sandwiches.

My dinner companion was able to get a gluten free meal, which is important. I had a good meal, and service was fine and friendly. Their macaroni and cheese side was quite tasty. Chicken was good but not great.

Stayed in the hotel on business. The food wasn't bad, had fried chicken. Someone sat across from me - came in almost 15 minutes after me, and actually got their food before I did (very slow). Had to actually track someone down to get the bill. I think they were training someone new, but felt like I was completely forgotten about.

Had a breakfast dish, which was very good. The service was, however, not that great. The service tarnished the experience from the start. I had to stand at the hostess stand while two ladies finished their conversation. Once seated it's just a machine, you don't have a single server so refills were slow.

The food was good and the service was fast and friendly. I totally recommend this place. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was delicious.

We got in late to check in to the hotel so headed to this restaurant. The kale salad was surprisingly good and they had a well rounded menu. Better than I expected for a hotel restaurant.

Better to go out for breakfast or lunch. Nothing special and its selling point was in hotel and convenience. ordered banana pancake and it was same pancake as "regular order" but they sliced bananas on top and charged more. Sad. Guess blueberry pancakes will have the berries float on top as well.

Food was OK but felt like I was an inconvenience. Strange atmosphere sitting in the open with people walking around you.

The food and the environment were very conducive and i used to enjoy breakfast, lunch and supper apart from the food in the evening after enjoying my supper i could take a cold drink from the bar and a variety of bear was available.
Dinner
Convenient location, food was good, appears to have a good beer selection although I did not have one. Service was ok. If staying at the Hilton it is convenient. Chicago has many wonderful restaurants outside of the hotel but this is very convenient. I had dinner on the first night after a long flight and did not want to go walking around and it was fine for that purpose.
