Good atmosphere and great Sunday brunch

By Ricardo B |

All you can drink mimosa for $20 is a difficult offer to turn down and if you add a lively atmosphere and a decent brunch menu it make it a very good visit

Great place for brunch!

By CandE-Travels |

Loved this restaurant. It is right by the water so it gives you a nice Miami feel. My strawberry French toast was to die for! My boyfriend ordered from the omelet bar which gives you unlimited trips to the bar including omelets and all the side dishes. The mimosas were good! I recommend for a good brunch

Most unwelcoming place

By Domenico Di Pietro |

Booked for dinner outdoor only to be offered a small tea table upon arrival. They had a normal table available but would not give it to us because they were expecting a big group one hour later... When complained to the manager about the table offered to us he replied among other things that they have “a young crowd “. Obviously left and had a lovely dinner at a welcoming spot nearby where age and proper tables didn’t seem to be an issue.

Solid Happy Hour bet

By midwstgirl |

This place is cool--right on the Miami River, walking distance from our hotel (The Langford) and others. The People Mover is close as well--free electric elevated train does a loop through downtown. We had a couple of cold beers to start to tide us until happy hour (generously runs from 4p-8p). Good wine 50% off during HH as well as beers and mixed drinks. Good choices for food on HH prices---I think everything was $6 including what looked to be a decent hamburger ($2 extra for fries but who cares it's still a deal). We had a quesadilla which was really good (but not HH). We then shared very good spinach/artichoke dip with a bit of a kick; one of us had a half dozen oysters which were reported good but oddly did not come with cocktail sauce (we made our own) or Worcestershire sauce (which they didn't even have? What about when somebody wants a Bloody Mary?). Regardless, I'd go back. The view of the river was great from the bar (very long and cool) as well as most tables inside and out.

Great night along the water

By Carolina G |

It's a great place along the water. We loved it and had a great time with family. It's a great place to take people visiting. I've also heard they have a great brunch.

Ask for Milos!

By Rosana Greco |

I was with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday on a packed Friday night at this new spot. We were scattered all over the place because of the large Happy Hours crowd and somehow the staff managed to provide us with the largest table in the back of the room so we could accommodate all of our friends, have some food and drinks. The staff was very very attentive and Milos the Manager kept checking on us to see how we were doing. It is easy to provide good service on a slow night but not when the place is jam packed, and they did it. It was definitely a fun night and I will definitely go back again.

Awesome place

By PidMiami |

Early Friday evening the place was packed so we would definitely recommend to reserve upfront. Music was loud but sitting outside was just fantastic. The food is great and was much more than we could eat. The scenery is awesome and makes you feel chilled immediately. Service was great and always super friendly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a good time and great food

Very nice bar in downtown and on the Miami River

By MoItaly |

What’s not to like here? This large bar sits on the Miami River, offering beautiful views especially on the evening; there are also plenty of outdoor seats. We went inside though, as we do every time we try a new place. The interior is nothing fancy, and the atmosphere homey in a good way; but without trying to make it fancy, they did a great job with decorations and colors. They have good deals during happy hours, the make a solid Old Fashioned and an interesting cocktail was also the Fifth and Lavender that my wife had; it’s not overly sweet, it’s flavorful with a nice flowery scent. Service was good, vibe was very comfortable and it’s pretty much a very nice bar, with good cocktails and a killer view outside. Like I said, what’s not to like? We’ll be back at our next trip to Miami.

We had a fun visit

By Chris C |

I was in Miami with a friend and we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to watch sports and have an appetizer. The food was good and service was great. It was fun afternoon. Very comfortable. There was a good crowd. They do offer outdoor patio seating that overlooks the river.

Disappointing Experience

By Oliver Tuttle |

Came here twice in the last 2 weeks and was disappointed each time! The Customer service is deplorable: we had a waitress that was incredibly rude or at least very apathetic toward her job. Also don't bother going to an event at this place cause they will not honor their deals and specials. They had $5 jameson shots and my friends ordered two but were charged $24! When we told the waitress about the special she abruptly interrupted us and rudely remarked "take it up with the manager." We were shocked! Usually it's "let me double check with the manager or I'll get back with you on that" but she seemed annoyed and disinterested with the request. I will say the burger was really good and the food came out fast but with the rude waitress and the constant mistakes that were made. They kept bringing my friends the wrong beers and the vibe just felt off being there. We couldn't wait to get the check and leave!

Graduation luncheon

By winklbm1 |

10 of us decided to celebrate the graduation of our family member from medical school. We sat outside enjoying the cool breeze, had an excellent server and were welcomed by the owner. The menu was diverse to include breakfast and lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the hamburger and delicious french fries. Drinks, lunch and dessert were enjoyed by everyone who shared in the celebration. We sat and shared stories, ate, drank and shared more stories. Our drinks and food were constantly replenished. This was done quietly and without any interruption of conversation- excellent- excellent service! The Party came for lunch and basically left close to dinner time. The environment was beautiful and bright while "sitting on the Dock of the bay 🎶🎶water watching the boats as they pass. It's a beautiful way to spend the day or evening.

Don’t eat here

By Nigeriandiva |

Myself and my friends arrived for lunch after coming from the airport. First our food took forever to come out other patrons who came after us got their food before us. The place wasn’t busy at all. Waitress never apologize my friend’s burger was done wrong twice! Also we were charged $3 for changing our type of cheese on our burger! Who knew it was $3 to go from American cheese to cheddar. My friend’s macaroni and cheese wasn’t done the pasta was hard! I don’t recommend this place at all.

Watered down drinks

By dcereez |

After 5 titos drinks a person, not one of us had a buzz. It was happy hour and they are $10 a drink and i wouldnt doubt if these guys water down the vodka.

Best atmosphere!! Great drinks!!

By NS14 |

Went as a last minute brunch. The unlimited pre-made mimosas are amazing for the price. Well worth it and you don't get filled on juice. Stephen the server is awesome and so polite. Be warned the hostess is a stickler for reservations so make one even if it's super slow.

Disappointed

By Posh A |

Yikes, it was more of a bar than a restaurant. Took my cousins to dinner as it was recommended by a friend but it was too loud. The place looks dirty. The table was sticky and so with the menus. How awful. It's a place to get drunk with young kids screaming while doing shots that were all half naked. Oh my!

Good service and cool atmosphere

By travelman1979_10 |

Stopped by late on a Thursday night. Not too crowded. Sat outside on the water and saw a few boats come by. Food was good as were the drinks. Service was very good too and friendly.

We left before getting any service

By tls41664 |

We stopped in on Sunday afternoon about 4:00 pm. The patio was crowded but there were several open tables. We had been there 1 year before and had a good experience that’s why we decided to go back. When checking in the hostess said there was a 30 minute wait for the patio and we could wait in the bar. The bar was so noisy with loud music you could not talk. The drinks were $15.00 a piece. After waiting 30 minutes and the same tables being empty as when we arrived we were seated. The person who seated us said there was a limited menu but it didn’t say that anywhere on the menu. We waited another 15 minutes or so without anyone ever coming over to our table. We got up and left and will never return again. We believe that if you go here you are paying for the atmosphere and not the service.

Good food

By Sabine F |

Their food is really good and we enjoyed the ambiance too. Unfortunately our waiter was quite bad: he forgot parts of our order, mixed things up and seemed to have absolutely no idea what gluten is (which is vital to us sincw my mum is celiac) but somehow didn't ask neither us nor the cook...

nightlife

By Carl-Frederick F |

if it was not for the great ambiance , this restaurant would not go far. The food is honestly subpar.the fries are good but the flatbreads and the burgers are just mediocre .Great list of beers but a little pricey if not happy hr but that is expected for Brickell.Overall great place for a groups of friends.

American Social Brickell

By 387indy |

A couple of friends and I went on the week end for lunch. The red awning with white letters stands out. The metromover moves overhead. The facility is 6500 sq. ft. inside, another 3,000 sq. ft. under canopy outside. AmSo sets 260, very impessive on Miami River. I feel good from the gitt go, valet parking is $5. Which allows me to tip valet $5. and feel good. We sit outside to watch the Yachts go by.We ordered drinks, I had a vodka martini up with olives. We ordered 3 Cuban Cigars, which are small plates that can be shared; pastry wrapped around chicken, mojo roast pork, ham. The service was good, as well as the food, price, and enjoyment.

If i could rate it a zero i would

By Thiago O |

The waiter probably showed up 4 times to refill me and my friends bottomless minosas in a span of 3 hours. When given the check, i gave him a 10 dollar tip and then he got angry at me and i told him it was because the service was horrible. (We were only 3 people) He proceeded to get angry at me and kick me out of the venue and threatened to give me a black eye. The service was horrible, the mimosas taste like dirty dish water and the waiters will threaten to beat you up if not given the tip they think they deserve based on my single experience.

Great atmosphere and service

By Liz L |

I'd like to give a HUGE shoutout to Demmie and the managers here. My husband and I were visiting and decided to forego the fancy hotel restaurant to watch the Atlanta United game. He'd been here before so we made a reservation (thank you OpenTable) and headed over about 7:30pm on Friday night. We sat outside - with great views of the water - and our server immediately let us know about happy hour. She took our order immediately - no time to waste, right? - and we mentioned to her about the game. A manager came right over and switched the game on for us. I'm 6 months pregnant so my husband took advantage of happy hour and my water glass remained full the entire night, without asking for refills. Demmie, our amazing server, was incredibly attentive and cheerful. You could tell she loves working there. We also had a couple managers walk by to check on us too which was unexpected but nice. The food was great - spinach/artichoke dip, BLAT chicken sandwich, and chicken quesadilla. Would love to come back when baby is here so I can take advantage fully of the happy hour.

Beautiful View, That's It

By Mark F |

Place is in a picturesque setting, service was good but that is it. Ordered the mussels, oyster ,pretzel, paella and a Tuna poke. Mussels were ok, oyster great, pretzel not even close was soaked in salted butter. This is were it turned ok to really bad. There was a fly infestation when the food came out. Paella, hmmm I took one or two bites did not seem fresh. I cut a piece of monkfish in half to find it undercooked and a long WORM in it. I cancelled the tuna. Manager (Adam)was very apologetic but did nothing else but give me 10 dollars for the valet. Not great customer service! The meal was ruined. If there is a silver lining great place for DRINKS ONLY.

Great burgers and nice ambience/view

By JuanAramburo |

Second time at American Social and good was great, specially the amso burger! The view is really great and the atmosphere inside is cool, specially friday! Not expensive yet not cheap, entrees between 12 to 18.

First time turned nightmare

By Dee |

I went here for a company gathering, it was my first time there and I was very excited for a great evening in what was a beautiful restaurant. The food was ok. I cant speak for the drinks because I drank wine while there so no comment on mixed drinks. When the night came to an end for my party I noticed my phone was missing. I tried the usual motions on what one should do to find their missing phone. I got security involved and they were very helpful. I have a smart watch that was still connected so that confirmed that my phone was still on property. After searching and asking people this bald man walked up and was very rude and very short and unhelpful and within 2 sentences kicked me out. $175 insurance cost later I had to get a new phone. The management was extremely unhelpful. Thank you to the security and staff that helped me as much as they could but I wouldn't return here nor advise any of my clients to come here. Sorry.

Enjoy the patriotic patio area on the Miami waterway as you sip drinks and sandwiches or apps as the breeze and boats are your landscape ..watch the sunset and realize how great this sports of all types are shown all day long...it is American bar and tucked in the middle of downtown by Mary Brickel Area......

Great event at American Social

By ignacio d |

Our business cocktail event at American Social Brickell was absolutely fantastic! The venue provided a great atmosphere, and the service was exceptional. Jasmine and her team went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that our guests felt well taken care of. From the planning stage to the actual event, the entire process was seamless. We truly had a memorable experience, and I highly recommend American Social Brickell for any corporate events.

Service is terrible

By Felipe G |

Service is just terrible. Empty tables and 40 minutes wait for a dam burger. I don’t recommend this place!!

Great

By Talia G |

Amazing environment. Very fun place to go on the weekend for some good food. LOVED their Cobb salad . Amazing appetizers and just so many amazing options.

Great food but weird sauce

By Oliver Tuttle |

Came here once for a friend's bday celebration and had a good time! The staff was very attentive and even helped surprise our friend for her bday! I ordered their chicken and waffles which beyond delicious but it was smothered in this weird super sweet gravy/syrup that I wasn't fan of but simple problem simple solution: order the meal without the sauce.

Chickn&Waffles R uS

By Lubrano79 |

So I had never heard of chicken&waffles in my life till a few months ago, my first thought was like, people are crazy and I don't know who eats that but not me. Ok, now we are looking at the menu and again I'm complaining that there isn't much that I like, so my wife recommends me to take the chicken and waffles, and I was like are you crazy, and she is and I am so I took it. And the rest is history, Best choice ever and only at AS, because I tried somewhere else but not even close. Props to the management there.

Cool place in Brickell to hang out by the water

By Franya Ruiz |

Nice place to watch sports games and grab a bite to eat. I always get the mini burgers but they have lots of different choices.

Great View

By Robert S |

Great place to enjoy a relaxing meal on the patio looking over the river. Unfortunately their are some negatives. Our group shared and sampled three items. The hummus and pita bread, hamburger and chicken sandwich. Hamburger was very good and I would highly recommend it. Chicken sandwich was disappointing, not bad just not good. Better to go to Popeyes for a chicken sandwich. Pita and hummus was pathetic. Nothing good about it. The fries would have been very good had they been served hot. Service was polite but slow and not too attentive. I would absolutely go again to this restaurant but would order something different.

Great Place to Watch the Game(s)!

By Greg A |

After dinner (see River Oyster reveiw, very nearby) we were looking for a place to watch the games and went to American Social on a recommendation. We didn't eat dinner - although the food looked awesome - but did enjoy a couple of rounds at the bar. There is a high rise complex attached to the restaurant and we saw a lot of people picking up food to go and bringing it upstairs. The bartender (Joe) was very nice and welcoming. There are tons of beer on tap with a nice mix of local and less traditional (but more known) beer - along with a full bar. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. It was a fairly young (20-30s crowd) with many younger professionals. There is an outdoor seating area where they play the "primetime" sports event on a huge barge that sits in the river - the place overlooks the river. With the temperature in the 90s we decided to sit inside in the A/C. If you are looking for a place to watch a game in downtown Miami, this place is highly recommended (we went to some others that are not....). There are tons of TVs (10+) with three huge ones over the bar, so chances are good that your game will be on.

Pre Brady's missing jersey!!!!! Great place to watch a game

By Marca P |

KW was in town and at 1/2 time of the Pats vs. Steelers game we decided to take the short walk to the river. I had heard a great deal about the how much fun this place is. We had a very short wait for an outside table, inside was a bit crowded and very very noisy! (remember we weren't there drinking all day watching football so that may have factored into our intolerance!) The setting is fab, on the river with a lot of TV's so great for watching sporting events. For 'pub grub' which is very elevated from typical bar food, we were impressed. I would recommend the poke and the cuban cigars. Needless to say the Steelers were beat, and well, we know the rest of the seasons results!

Unbelievable food, phenomenal scene

By Nikola D |

Gorgeous restaurant with great drinks, quick service, and outstanding attention to detail. There is something on the menu for everyone, and their elevated take on comfort foods hit the spot in a city with a lot of so-called 'refined' restaurants that really miss the mark. Kudos to the management, chefs, and staff

Good food, nice atmosphere.

By samgrayferrell |

Good food, nice atmosphere. On the water. Buildings surrounding blocks your view of sunset. Over all really nice.

Great service and great food!

By Eileen M |

Just let me start off by saying I was scared when we arrived as the place was incredibly packed and very large. I thought the service was going to be bad along with the food.... Boy was I wrong. Service was amazing. My husbands order was taken incorrectly so the waiter went to fix this right away and apologized. if that was not enough, the manager approached up shortly after to to make sure all was well. The food was delicious, the location and the view were spectacular! Try the steak Benedict for brunch ;)

Great location!

By Chelsea M |

Went here on my short trip in Miami. Beautiful view if you're able to sit outside of the river and city. The drinks are good with a good selection. I got the pork belly sliders and they were DELICIOUS! A little pricey, but everything was worth it.

Great atmosphere

By Mandi Brown |

My friends and I stopped here for brunch. The location is great, it’s right on the water so it was nice to sit outside and watch the boats go by. The food was really good, although a little pricey. The only downside to our meal was that the service was very slow. But overall I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you are looking for outdoor seating.

Nice View

By Jjacome316 |

I went Saturday for happy our with a couple of friends. The view is very nice in front of the Miami river. The oysters were fresh and nice and they have a huge selection of beers, the empanadas were ok nothing special. Definitely im coming back to try the burger and the chicken and waffles.

American Social

Excellent food and outstanding service. Our group of 8 were celebrating a birthday and staff went out of their way to accommodate our every wish. Great appetizers!

One the Top Brunch Places in Miami!

By Passport Plug |

Sundays are always a great time to have brunch in Miami and American Social in Brickell is definitely one of our top places to go! The hosts were very efficient with getting everyone seated in a timely manner. our first encounter was with Carol who was able to squeeze us in for a last minute reservation We had the pleasure of being served by Andrea this time and she was very attentive towards our group. Usually servers tend to stay away from large groups because of the hassle but she welcomed us with open arms and was very professional. Being that it was a Sunday one of the busiest days, she was very attentive even with having a large section by herself , she was able to manage everyone's preferences efficiently! She offered us some of her favorite recommendations from the menu as well as making alterations to some of the items on the menu due to a member of our groups dietary restrictions. As for the quality of the food it was very flavorful. I would recommend the Mac & cheese and the Huevos Rancheros with Steak Absolutely amazing along with the presentation! The Manager even greeted our group as well and gave us recommendations for things to do in the city after brunch. The atmosphere is definitely upbeat due to the DJ outside ( and having the location on the water makes it even better! ( great place to watch a football game as well Overall staff was friendly and answered and acted all of our questions. We will definitely bring you more people to your establishment the next time and for more to come. Thank you for your attentive service! - Passport Plug

Be wary!

By pbrashears3 |

The food was good enough but the rub is the service and the bill. Number 1 is that they add 18% gratuity without telling you. Yes I’m sure it was on the menu somewhere but I didn’t see it. So for my 18% the 2 of us had the pleasure of waiting 25 solid minutes from the time they cleared our plates to getting our bill back after they ran my card. Since the 18% is all but guaranteed to the servers there is zero incentive to actually work for a tip. Perhaps they should change the name to American Socialism. Number 2 is AFTER they automatically add the 18% on your detailed bill, they also produce another receipt with a gratuity line and the suggested tip amounts. This is nothing more than a scam if you ask me. I wouldn’t go back.

Great American fare and vibrant vibe

By Luis N C |

This place is a high energy, friendly establishment along the waterways of Miami. The staff were all easy going and made it known they were there to make sure we had a great time. We arrived during their extended Happy Hour from 4pm to 8pm. The food prices were amazingly low and the quality of the food was great. That buffalo sauce for the wings had a satisfying kick. I also enjoyed multiple mojitos with my food. I would recommend this place if you enjoy good food, great drinks, happy staff, and upbeat music.

Get together

Had a great afternoon with my friends at this restaurant! It has a beautiful view! Love it and will come back again!

The service is terrible

By Yanet V |

it's a nice place, good food, with an unbeatable view, THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE Es un gran lugar una vista espectacular pero el SERVICIO ES REALMENTE TERRIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Don’t eat Paella

By Brk M |

They have no idea how to cook paella and it’s so salty that you can’t even taste any ingredients it’s was terrible

Worth checking out!

By Ivan C |

AmSo is an upscale sports/social bar with definitely more sophisticated menu than an average sports bar, which reflects on the prices. The location, design, food, beverages and atmosphere itself are fairly pleasant overall, however service needs a little bit of polishing up. Moreover, when crowded the noise pollution from the TV sound system is quiet high and poorly managed. Overall, a place to check out in Brickell.

Delicious and great service!!!

By anaz08 |

The food and service was awesome. For appetizers we had the crab cakes which had a delicious avocado moose! We also had the STRAWBERRY HONEY SMASH drink which was really refreshing. For our entrée we each had the hamburger. When my burger came instead of medium well it came medium. The waiter quickly took it back and brought me another drink for the mix up with the burger. When the new burger came it was perfect! The waiter was very attentive and always there when you needed something! I highly recommend this place. Also plenty of boat parking in the back.

Waterfront Casual Dining

By Stewart M |

Enjoyed a pleasent afternoon recently here, enjoyed a few drinks and had a very tasty lunch of wings and sides. Well worth the effort to find this place, great music and great vibes.

Nice!!

By Chani B |

Nice View...nice service...nice ambiance...nice food...nice prices!! Went with co-workers to scout the location for an upcoming office event. Stayed for lunch. I had the Waldorf Chicken Salad Sandwich- Yummm!! One of my co-workers had the B.L.A.T. and it was really good. My other co-worker had the burger and she enjoyed food as. Yes I would recommend this place for lunch and yes I will be eating here again!!

Ok Food, Terrible Service

By TainaLatin |

Great boating sightseeing location if you don't mind the noise of the train that goes by. Food was okay, nothing stood out - very little vegetarian options. Service was terrible - very slow and staff seemed to be in la la land. Staff needs some serious training - had to ask for silverware, water, and pretty much everything, and was never offered to refill our drinks. I recommend you find a better place and skip this one.

Family gathering

By Lucy1099 |

On Sunday Feb 25th our Family of 17 went there for brunch because a friend suggested it was a great place to go, we arrived at 1 pm and we ended up seating 5 mins to 4pm right when the brunch was going to finish. We complaint about the waiting and we were about to leave bc some of our teenagers were already complaining of hunger. But we stayed to give it a try. Our waiter was very nice and apologetic which we found it really nice no complaint of the waiter that was the only thing good about the place. Later when we got our food while eating my Husband ordered chicken with waffles and asked the waiter minutes later what do they use to make the sauce for the chicken and waffle and the waiter was so proud saying it was mayo and strawberry jam then my Husband said to him then what is this? He grab with his fork a piece of finger latex glove mixed with the mayo and strawberry and the waiter was stunned and so we did. He took the sauce and apologized to him since then I couldn’t eat anymore I was disgusted that left my food. He came back and said to him he won’t charge his food so he did. But he said the manager will come to the table and apologized and he never did. We never saw the manager around or near where we were seating. This is lack of management we will never go back ever again. Food not worth the price and drinks are way over priced.

Great Attention, Scenic View, Delicious Food

Loved the place , went for lunch and it was very quiet. Food was amazing, tried their truffle burger and I loved it . Will visit back soon

Get Social along the Miami River

By MaryGoody |

Wonderful food and great beer selections all while dining next to the Miami River. They have a happy hour during the week that includes all drinks and small bite plates. This is a fun place to meet friends. They have outdoor couches and/or restaurant seating that accommodates groups or couples looking for a good vibe in Miami

Sunday Brunch

By Coastal539882 |

We went to American Social with friends who live nearby. They invited more friends so there was 10 in total. We have been previously and were spoilt by the unlimited Moet mimosas which they bought the Moet bottle and a jug of orange. Now the unlimited mimosas are already mixed or you can have pink Chandon so we went for that. Still really good value for money food and drinks wise so they get 5 stars from us. The service was brilliant and the views of the river are wonderful!! We will go back

Great food and drinks spot

By Belem C |

We are regulars as living next door, we been here for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch and just for snacks and drinks. The attention is pretty good, the flavors and portions are good too, we had a problem with cold food and the manager and our bartender took care of it and since then we never had that problem again. The ambiance is great too!

LOUDLY obnoxious DJ during the middle of the day

By Carrie T |

Nice place but what is up with the loud DJ during the football games on Saturdays. It is so freakin LOUD you can't even have a conversation. It is a shame as it would otherwise be a great place to watch games. Food is good and it is a nice location. No one was even there and they were blasting the music! I think the manager should save that for the nighttime crowd.

good for a quick cocktail

By Candy_Florida_Girl |

it's a chain but it's fine for a quick cocktail and snack, don't be in a hurry, the wait staff was more concerned with each other rather than refilling our drinks and cocktails

Great location

By LAFAMILLEG11231 |

Nice staff, on the river, off the crazy south beach strip. Fun live music outdoor seating with comfortable couches.

AmSo isn't just another Brickell bar passing in the night...

By Joshua T |

The Brickell incarnation of American Social is a meeting of marketing, design, location, crowd, solid food and ever-flowing drinks. Oh yeah and it's reasonable (sort of). Unlike it's landlocked Mary Brickell bar cousins, AmSo capitalizes on its waterside location with sprawling outdoor seating and TV options in addition to the well styled but cavernous interior. This is a good looking bar inside and out and it matches the 22 to 39 year old party centric clientele who are there to see and be seen Thursday through Sunday. And though you might guess it's primarily a place to drink the night away to the live DJ, the menu here is not an afterthought and actually impresses with a variety of hearty and well conceived plates ranging from tapas style samplers to legit burgers and sides. Sunday brunch isn't an over the top menu but the creative takes on Chicken and Waffles and skillet dishes are worth a try. During off hours (read: Monday afternoon through Thursday afternoon) it can be a place to grab a quiet-ish bite and watch boats drift down the Miami River or catch a game on one of maybe a dozen large TVs. AmSo probably gets my vote for best all around bar in the West Brickell / Miami River zone and it doesn't hurt that it takes itself somewhat seriously as a restaurant too.

Good Time & Good Food

By craig1086 |

Came here for a late dinner (11pm) after walking around Wynwood for Art Basel. They usually keep a lively crowd, especially when there are games on. The service was good and the food came out really fast.. You get a good view of the river, but there are many building around, and the metromover rail right up above. Some nights they do live music. We took Lyft, but I didn't see anywhere to park, if street parking was already taken, so take note of that.. The wings & bbq here are really good, as well as the entree mac n cheese, which is a HUGE portion. Plus they're open late until 3am. Nice choice, and would come back.

Awesome place to go!

By Ouiquay |

Food was amazing and the service was excellent. Fabrizio was an awesome waiter. Had the churrasco and shrimp ravioli. Great place to go, would definitely come back!

NIce view & Food was great

By TravelFoodieMLA15 |

1st of all, sit outside, the view is worth it. Service was very nice and friendly even though it started out slow in taking the order, but the fact that they put your mimosas in front of you for you to refill on your own was definitely a plus. Chicken and Waffles were very good, flatbread was ok, no big deal l order something else. Always wanted to go and glad I finally went. it was a nice Brake away for the day to day. Had a great day watching the yachts & boats pass by.

Great ambience, food and beverages

By Richard L |

I came to American Social for a conference HH and was amazed at the service, beer list and food. I actually liked it so much I came back a second time in my one week visit to Miami and on the Saturday night it was full with a great DJ and most people were dancing. Bartender Erik made the best Smoked Old Fashioned I have ever had!

Great for happy hour

By Markandnige |

Stopped by for a bite to eat and drink at happy hour and had a great time. Our server Thomas was awesome, really friendly and hyper attentive with the perfect recommendations. We sat outside which was nice. The happy hour food was amazing value. Definitely a place to stop by

I have to say walking in with a group of 10 with out a reservation I had the best service ever. My friends and I were wandering around and decided to stop and finally checkout the new American Social in Brickell. The hostess (her name was Lulu how cute is that?) acknowledge us immediately, she ask us if we had a reservation and we said no, she also asked our preference in seating outdoor or indoors, she accommodate my group and present our server. We order our food (AMSO burgers and chicken and pretzel bites) and our drinks (beer) Note: they have a total of 52 craft beers to choose from. After 10:30 they had a Dj and I have to say my groups overall experience was fantastic. We have found our new place !!!! Great team, great food and that have only been open since December.

Christmas Football

By Ann C |

We being from South Dakota, MN Vikings fans, and visiting our son in Miami; wanted to watch the game at a cool sports bar in downtown Miami. Found American Social on my IPhone map and went to their website to see if they had the game. Richard Rubits responded immediately that they did and he and Damion Beiber set up a reservation to sit outside with a dedicated TV on our game for game day, two days later. Discovered the next day that they were in Ft Lauderdale! No problem. They shifted us to Adam Perhosky in Brickell in Miami and Adam had us all set up. Great atmosphere. Great food. And extremely great service! Unfortunately, the Vikings lost. But, Ray, our server was superb. Merry Christmas to all of these fine folks. We loved it and will definitely stop in again next time we are down. The customer service we received through all of this was way above and beyond the norm. Thanks for making American Social such an awesome experience. Brad and Ann

Dont waste your time coming here

By Bryan B |

So I came here to have dinner with my family, paid 10 bucks for Valet parking and when I went to the hostess, she told me there were no tables available. I looked outside and there were 6 empty tables. I asked her about the tables and she said they were reserved. I told her I try to make reservations but I was told that there was no reservations allowed. Then she told me no same day reservatios.... Looks like this place you need to know someone  to get a table and have dinner. Dont waste your time coming here... you will just be turned away.... not a good experience......

Great spot for drinks by the river (excellent happy hour as well)

By Chris K |

We stopped here for some drinks one afternoon and really glad we did. Staff were quick to give us a great seat outside right by the river with lovely views and quickly provided water for us. It was happy hour so we took advantage and had some good beers and wines and tried some of the food as well. Definitely recommend coming here

Good

Love this place! Pleasant atmosphere, good food! The bar staff gave excellent service! Really enjoyed it!

Birthday Dinner Celebration

By Danielle R |

Occasion: We celebrated a large party for my daughters birthday on New Year's Eve and the coordinator was great! Water access by boat: American Social is located on the river and is a great spot to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful views of Miami. We arrived by boat and they were able to accommodate all sizes of boats. Although some difficulty getting off and on the boat. Food: Overall the food and drinks is good. Service: The host, employees have always been great and very friendly!

Great 40th bday party spot!

By Go57550617736 |

We hosted my husband’s 40th birthday in their private bar space next to the main bar. Bartenders and manager provided great customer service, food was incredible and the vibes were high! Great music for dancing and that side space is perfect for big parties!

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff

By Andy H |

Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 3:00 in mid-July. The menu was a limited at the time, but we did find a few apps that we liked. The beer selection was really nice and our waiter was awesome. The only drawback is if you're driving your car there it can be tricky to find a spot to park. They do offer canal side parking for boats.

Very Noisy Hot Spot

By lindsey709 |

This restaurant is right on the water, with a giant TV outside for those that are able to dine out there. Unfortunately, although we selected outdoors when we reserved, it was not available. One of the hostesses, who was very curt, informed me that she called and left me a message telling me that (I received a 15 second message earlier in the day with loud bar noises and no speaking...thought it was a pocket dial). However, we were seated inside right away at a high top table very close to the bar. The place quickly filled up and people leaned on our table (we were only two) while they waited to be seated. It was very crowded and very very noisy. Our waitress was attentive and friendly though and brought our food and drinks quickly. Good beer selection, good food (macaroni and cheese and shrimp tacos)...just very much a local party scene.

Solid Girls' brunch

By Taylor G |

Had brunch at American Social with my girls in Miami. Loved the patio and free mimosas with an entree for women! Service was quick and friendly. We ordered mac and cheese, fried chicken, turkey club, sweet potatoes.. all was very delicious and huge portions. Loved the peach margarita/sangria, as well. It's not right on the beach, so spend some time exploring the business district while you're in the area.

Definitely worth tryung

By Eric |

Second time visiting here. My first time was brunch and this was dinner. Dinner had the tapas options and traveling to Europe I had a really small plate visual in my mind when ordering and were overwhelmed at the amount of food we ended up with. But it was all delicious. Love the chicken and waffles here. The patio is just a great location to sit, relax, and dine. Would certainly be back.

Typical American sports bar but better

By Seanoldinho |

We ended up here looking for the Man Utd soccer game that was on. Inside there was countless screens and they put the game on the screen closest to us. We actually arrived just as they opened so the place was empty but we were still treated exactly as i imagined everyone else would be treated when busy. Cocktails were great and the empanadas were amazing, I think you get 5 and they aren't too pricey. Also nice location just out of the main part of Miami but next to the river.

Way too Loud way to Long a Wait for Average

By Dr Mel K |

Nice people, limited menu, poor crowd control and no soap in bathroom! Fair service never came to table to see if all was right and we had to forage for own silverware. To be fair they were slammed but that is what professionals should be experts. Food fair too much dressing on salads.

Disappointing compare to the Tampa location

By Jennifer M |

We went here because we had such an amazing time at the American Social in Tampa, but this was not on par at all. The food, crowd, and view in Miami has nothing on the Tampa location. The Tampa location is also 5 times as large. I will not go here again. I will go to the Tampa location every time I visit Tampa. The omelette/breakfast bar here sucked, and of course I'm comparing everything to the Tampa location. You guys nail it in Tampa. Take notes and apply.

Nice decor, very poor customer service

By Connie |

The decor and location are excellent, however you cannot run a successful restaurant without exceptional staff members who are committed to providing an excellent service. The bartenders (besides one very tall gentleman with blonde hair) made no effort to start any conversation with their clients and continued to giggle and whisper amongst each other all evening, which is very unprofessional. The Manager Kate, had no customer service skills and was not even able to apologize for the service breakdown that occurred during our visit. She treated us very poorly. As a Manager, she should lead by example and therefore I don't even think you can blame staff members for poor customer service, as their manager is clearly deprived of these skills. Thank you.

Fun with friends

By idamariehegg |

Stopped for some mohitos that were so good had three. We also had some fried cheese and pork belly. The music was so good I couldn't sit still. Service was excellent and all smiles.

Go with friends who are locals

By Matthew H |

Never felt like the staff were doing me a favor by "allowing" me to be there. Great space and I image a great place to watch sports if you have friends who know the owner because that is the only way you will get any kind of service.

Great Happy Hour on Miami River

By Erik J |

Great happy hour drinks and appetizers from 4-8pm. Sit and enjoy the views on the Miami River. Occasional noise from passing Metro Rail but don’t let that stop you. Had a fantastic evening sitting outside. Apps were good; wings, chicken tacos, beef skewer. Burger was split and had big slab of bacon, yum! Great atmosphere on the river with reasonable pricing.

Good location and hangout place, nice view on the river

By Gandalf |

The food is American average sport bar with good selection of beer, but they have an amazing happy hour. It’s not overpriced for the location. Be ready to wait when they get busy, but it’s really popular restaurant in Brickell. Like I said the location makes everything, nice outside sitting.

Much too loud

By isbn1 |

We had the oysters and mac and cheese. Service was good. Some problems with the beers. First a wrong beer was served and then there were not all beers available for the premium beer flight. Food was ok. I wouldnt come back because the music was much too loud for me.

apathy

By cgomez1313 |

though the food is good (not great) their service is terrible-starts with the rude hostess, and doesnt get much better with the servers ( unless you get that one waitress-only one thats good ) .... sunday had a waiting list and there was at least fibe tables open outside - when i spoke to the hostess her attitude and apathy ,convinced me completely that I will never go again- sad cause it sits right underneath my building.

Good place for a fun time

By Mssamp |

Nice pub-style bar with great drinks. There are tables for those that prefer sitting and dining, and a bar with a dance floor for those that want to "get jiggy with it". I went on a Saturday night and the DJ was great!

For nice evenings at the riverbank

By Zornitsa A |

Very good restaurant. I ate chiken, which incredible. Good service, very professional. There is a place to sit outside or inside, both very pleasant,

Eh. Don't bother.

By Christopher A |

So I came here for a gathering of colleagues in my profession called PT Pub Night. We were all in Miami for a national convention. We got there just as it stopped raining, so all of the outdoor seating was wet. We were told that it would be about a 45 minutes wait while they dry up the outdoor seating, and we indeed waited every bit of that 45 minutes. It turned out to be ok, because the waterside seating was absolutely beautiful and everything I wanted from my trip to Miami. For the food, I had Chicken and Waffles, "Cornmeal Belgium Waffle, Southern Fried Chicken, Cherries, Bourbon Mascarpone, Maple Syrup, Powdered Sugar," and it was pretty darn ok. The waffle was pre-syruped, but still crispy. It was nice. The chicken was nicely breaded, and the bourbon mascarpone was honestly the best accompaniment I've ever had with chicken and waffles. So good. My girlfriend stared off with the American Social Mac and Cheese, "Vermont Cheddar, Gruyere, Parmesan, Cream Cheese, Orecchiette," and it was Awful. It was unevenly cooked throughout the few bites we had. Some were severely overcooked, some were severely undercooked, and the flavor was either not present or just overall weird. We don't like to complain about the food very often, but this was intolerable. We had to say no thank you. So they offered to get her something else, and she chose Rock Shrimp Tacos, "Florida Salsa, Iceberg Lettuce, Coconut Cheese Sauce, Avocado Mousse," and these were very good. Nothing out of the ordinary, but I liked eating them. What was awesome was that the manager actually took both of her dishes off the bill. We didn't have to pay for either of them, which was really nice. What was not nice, though, was that the food portions were disproportional to the prices on the menu. I know very well that quality is just as important as quantity, but the quality just wasn't there in this place's food to justify the quantity we received for the price we paid. The price was probably the deciding factor on how this place got a 2 stars over a 3 stars. Also, my girlfriend would like to point out that their drinks are inconsistently strong. Her rum and Coke was almost all rum, and her vodka cranberry was mostly water, which is common during special nights. It was ladies night that night, so her drinks were half off.

Food is awesome. Go during happy hour.

By Mary Ivelin M |

I went here with my partner. He had the Fried Shrimp Tacos and I had the AMSO Chicken Cobb. I thought the salad was extremely delicious. I wasn't a fan of the tacos, but my partner enjoyed them. Also, we ordered a cocktail called La Pina. It was a very light drink, similar to a pina colada. Not really a drink that I would order again because it's so light, but it doesn't mean it's a bad drink. We still stayed afterwards when we were done and enjoyed the happy hour offered for ladies. Service was amazing.

Boat Delivery

By mjbeam |

We have been quarantined on our boat for an extended amount of time (not a horrible way to do it). With no short term rentals, marinas included, we aren't able to get delivery. Twice in the last week, we ordered "pick up". Staff and management were kind and helpful. They delivered to our boat outside the restaurant. Between the two visits, we had salads, wings and pizza. Everything was delicious!

Fabulous fajitas!

Lovely meal, excellent service. Friendly, busy bar! Great two for one on drinks and 30% off food! Good, friendly service!

We actually went to the BRAND NEW location on HARBOUR ISLAND in TAMPA FL......what a treat! It is HUGE!!!! A great vibe, fabulous view overlooking the water...warm and fuzzy feeling even though it is so big!! Great menu, reasonably priced and the food was very tasty! I think they will be very successful!

Happy hour destination

By Riley W |

Amso is always a reliable lively and fun happy hour spot that you know you will be quickly served and have a great time! It's an awesome spot to get a group together and hang out for games! Plan to do our clubs happy hours there monthly!

Spectacular, don't miss it!

By Maachin07 |

Service, flawless. Food, amazingly tasty, couldn't home cook better. Drinks, wine was perfectly served and priced reasonably. Had a fantastic night, would recommend to all, best meal on our trip to Miami.

Cool place with the view

By WildSpiritGotFree |

If you know you are going on the weekend book a table outside. The views of the river in the evening are beautiful. nice selection of burgers and salads, very extensive beer and cocktail menu, including bottomless cocktails for lunch. My friend and I were there in between shifts, so we ordered from one menu, then were told that we can not have whatever we've ordered ad had to choose something else from a different menu.... It took a while for food to arrive, but our burgers were tasty and massive! There are few big screens with sports on, so we've been entertained waiting for our food to arrive. I would definitely back on my next trip to Miami

Welcome service needs some work.

By Mitch C |

Walking in at 6:45pm on a Friday, there were two tall ladies at the hostess stand who did not greet my group as we walked in. They ignored us for the first 6 min while we stood right in front of them, I did not want to interrupt their conversation, I imagined they were discussing work but as I got closer in hopes they would acknowledge my presence they were talking about what they did the previous night and how much they dislike someone who works there. One young lady was drinking coffee from a purple thermos totally ignoring us. When their manager a short man in a suit approached the hostess stand he acknowledged us immediately. He must have felt us getting somewhat annoyed at the lack of service. He took care of us and had one of the hostess ladies seat us immediately. as we sat down the hostess proceeded to give us our menus. I don’t think she looked at the menus when she gave them to us as each of us was given a different version of the dinner menu. The server immediately apologized and brought us the correct menus. What started off as a failure and annoyance was quickly turned around by the server a young blonde European sounding gentlemen. His professionalism and demeanor was top notch. I do have to admit the Happy hour drink specials are OUTSTANDING!! I plan on returning to the restaurant, the food is delicious and I loved the happy hour drink specials.

Like It's Been There Forever

By patsjag28 |

While staying at my son's condo in Miami, we took the short elevator ride down to the new American Social restaurant at the base of the building. Newly opened and very much welcomed, this place seems like it's been there forever. They didn't seem to be suffering from any growing pains or mis-queues by the hostesses or waitstaff. It appeared to be running like a well oiled machine. The hostess gave us our pick of inside or outside, and then anywhere we'd like. We chose indoor since outside seating was very casual with sofas, loveseats and the like scattered about. Our waiter, a very nice guy from Siberia (I never actually knew anyone from Siberia, although I've heard of many being sent there...) was very polite, friendly, attentive and extremely knowledgeable regarding items on the menu. Shortly after ordering drinks, a Brooklyn lager ($7) and a Cabernet ($14) they were delivered to our table and orders taken. My lame attempt at Vegetarianism held steady with the offering of a Veggie Sandwich ($16) which included roasted mushrooms, cauliflower, glazed sweet potato, avocado yogurt, watercress, ricotta, with a banyuls vinaigrette on toasted pumpernickel. OUT OF THIS WORLD! There were huge vertical slices of cauliflower and sweet potato with roasted mushrooms that all seemed to work together. Now, $16 may seem like a lot for a veggie sandwich, but trust me, it was worth every penny. My husband ordered the AMSO BURGER ($15) which was their own AMSO beef blend, american cheese, AMSO sauce, red oak, tomato, vidalia onion, toasted Challah bun. Not really sure if it was on Challah unless they make it with seeds now, but no difference, he claims it was still delicious. The decor is well done, the seating areas comfortable inside and out, and the service was excellent. I'd say it was worth a trip over and certainly worth the elevator ride downstairs. I imagine it has a great bar scene as well, by the number of people casually sipping drinks while seated on comfortable sofas watching the yachts on the Miami River go by. It's a beautiful setting. I'm not sure if they actually serve a brunch but they advertise unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Marys on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am-2 pm. There have been several restaurants in the same venue that have come and gone, but I really hope American Social can make a go of it and stick around. Good luck to them.

Relaxed atmosphere.

By Fabrini Stefani |

Great option for a happy hour with your friends or family. Young audience, handsome and funky. Good service. Beautiful view of the river. You can observe the beautiful and imposing luxurious boats passing by the river. Live music. We celebrated a friend's birthday and it was super fun. At the time we went with children aged 3-6 years. They had fun as we brought their own toys and modeling clay. But it is not the ideal environment for children.

American So-So.

By Chris D |

A big, appealing patio greets you as you enter along the Miami River just on the west side of the MetroRail tracks in Brickell. Indoors the numerous large TV screens scream "Great for sports events!". And the long line of beer taps behind the bar suggest a great experience awaits you. It could happen, but, unfortunately, this place hasn't found the consistency yet to assure it. On my 5th or 6th visit there today, it was a Saturday brunch crowd that was clearly more than the staff could handle. Either that or the 4 of us got overshadowed by what looked like a bridal brunch. Today, service was slow, the food, with one exception was served lukewarm or undercooked. Even the beer tasted odd to a craft beer connoisseur. Three hours later I'm writing this out of post-payment depression. I spent $80 and just feel like I got mugged on the street. AMSO can do better. I have had some fairly good experiences there, but overall you go for the beer and the patio atmosphere. Otherwise, the food is mediocre at best. This review for today's visit only.

Not just a sports bar & grill

By Kris M |

We had a blast here for brunch on Easter! People had raved that the food and atmosphere was awesome but with sports bar in its name I wasn’t sure. The food was absolutely some of the best brunch dishes I’ve ever had! And our service was exceptional!

The best Moet day ever. Great value for money!

By Coastal539882 |

We have been to the American Social before and it was also a great visit. This time we went for Sunday Brunch for $40 per person you could have unlimited Moet and Chandon yes UNLIMITED. We got there at 11am got a lovely table for 3. The girls went for the Moet and I went for the Bloody Mary's again unlimited for $30. The Moet went down well as did the Mary's. We left at 4pm and the girls did 5 bottles of Moet?!?!? 5 bottles of Moet for $80.......... NOW THATS VALUE FOR MONEY! We had a wonderful lunch along with great service..... What a day! If you want a great value for money day with great service and amazing food then give American Social a chance. They won't let you down. Top tip: Book a table as they get busy at the weekends

Great ambience and finger food

By gs07jas |

Great bar at a great location in the river, heart of the city....Great beer selection as well as food menu options. I highly recommend the Cuban Cigars (egg rolls with the fillings of a Cuban sandwich)...DELISH!!! Great place to watch your favorite sport / game.

Amazing experience

Great scenery by the river. Great food. Ryan is a fantastic waiter: great, diligent service and making sure all our needs were met.

Very nice!

By Avril H |

Went here for my birthday this past week because of Latin nights on Wednesdays. Had a very low key dinner. Our server Chris was awesome! The food was great and the salsa class at midnight was a lot of fun. Love the location too! I recommend going to this place, nice location, good food and drinks, plus the service was excellent!

Great views

By devin J |

The views were spectacular, happy hour menu was great and prices were good. Service was attentive and quick. Would certainly come back.

crowded

By pradip b |

It was like a typical crowded bar. There was lots of activities, Miami Heat players old and new were there. The price was a little high.

Fun!!

By Cristina F |

I was there with my coworkers it's a fun place that has amazing drinks and food. I would definitely go back. I liked everything the vibe, the atmosphere, the service of course the food and the drinks.

Good pub food and a large selection of beer

By Buddy S |

We ate here for a very late dinner and drinks. We ate outside looking on the river, which was nice. Service was good and friendly. Food was fine, but really the kind of stuff I associate with pubs and not that interesting to me for dinner.

There were 10 of us that waited

By NOsFood |

There were 10 of us that waited over an hour for appetizers and drinks. One of our party did not receive their meal until after the rest of the party was done eating. Another one received their meal 15 minutes before the final guest. Great atmosphere, horrible service, and not great food. Not worth the money, time, or effort.

I wanted to love it, but...

By Adriana P |

This was my second time at American Social and it just didn't do it for me. While the place is nice and appealing because of its location on the water, the food is just average and the service is verging on terrible. We ordered some dishes to share, including the Ropa Vieja tacos, which were great and also chicken empanadas, which were terribly spicy. I then ordered the "Drunken Goat" burger and it came with no goat cheese to I had to get some on the side; also, the burger looked super sloppy and unappealing. Drinks were ok although they do offer a great variety of tap beers. Only parking is valet and ticket needs to be validated. Just average.

Full Capacity at Happy Hour!

By Jbmisch |

With a name like American Social who doesn't wanna try this place? Stopped in one night the week they opened to try their chicken and waffles. Note: This is an upscale sports bar so don't expect happy hour specials like a pub- this place can leave a little dent. We were in running gear so we opted to sit outside overlooking the Miami River. We also conducted a survey on the staff to see who knew how to say "Rotisserie" in Spanish, which of course led us to interacting with every one that walked by and in conclusion; service was great and we loved the staff! My chicken and waffles are on the top of the list for me and worth every stinkin penny and calorie. White meat chicken breasts with a hint of vanilla and drizzled with bourbon maple glaze and dusted with powdered sugar....If you're not drooling yet and bookmarking, allow me to mention there's also sweet mascarpone on this dish. I'm coming back and very soon; to eat the same thing over and over and over again- and then; maybe one day I can get around to trying the mac and cheese. Nice décor packed with young professionals and a decent menu equals a win win.

Nice and interesting

By JAM |

Great view!!! despite being more of a bar than a restaurant service was great, attentive and right. Food was really tasty. We had the chicken sandwich and the duck confit...highly recommended. The view at the brickell location is also well worth it, parking may be an issue

Best location!

By Annie |

We arrived too late for dinner, but stayed for drinks. Place is nothing fancy, looks like a fast food, TGI's type of place. But, the location, on the Miami river at Brickell, is amazing!!!! Sit outside, one of the very best areas in Miami hands down!

Fun Friday Happy Hour Atmosphere

By JessicaAbuDhabi |

Went with my sister and her co-workers on a Friday around 7PM. We had a nice view of the river from an inside table and the service was very, very good. We ordered bar appetizers that were a special happy hour price. Food came out hot and quickly. Awesome 80's music was playing although it was a bit loud and difficult to talk to each other. Casual attire, great atmosphere, fun evening!

Great food, clueless waitress, no copper mug for the Moscow mule.

By wandersfar |

Stopped here for a quick dinner on a one nite stay in Miami. Location is great loved sitting outside by the river nice vibe. We had drinks and all of us ordered a different burger. The burgers were all good very juicy, great variations. The burgers come with hand cut fries. They were cooked nicely, I prefer a little mor flavor like a nice sea salt but regular salt would do be no salt or pepper at our table. Drinks we had a one Moscow Mule, and 2 domestic beers. Hard to mess with bottled beer - but the Moscow Mule was a interesting experience. They served it in a highball glass not the traditional copper mug. When we ordered a second we asked about the mug. The waitress didn't have a clue about what we were asking about so she tells us she will ask the bartender. She comes back and tells us some story about having to switch to different ginger beer for the drink. Which has no relevance to our question. She also brought the second drink in a glass. So if you want a traditional Moscow Mule in the copper mug, this isn't the place. Also not much liqueur in either drink.

Awesome experience!

By cheryl f |

This is a fun place! We sat outside in whisker lounge/den type chairs. The atmosphere is breath taking! Right on the water, boats and yachts passing right by! Unlimited Mimosas and Bloody Mary's for $20! The food was very good too! Great staff and manager was very attentive too! A must for Sunday Brunch!

Great for happy hour

By Julia M |

American social has a wonderful happy hour. They have discounted food and drink items. The burgars and turkey sandwich both were huge and delicious.

Great Ambience, Delicious Food

By mcooper89 |

My boyfriend and I made a last-minute dinner reservation at American Social on OpenTable, and were seated as soon as we arrived. We dined outside, and sat at low-to-the-ground couches which were pretty comfortable. It is a little tricky eating dinner from a couch so low though. The view over the waterway is very nice, and the space itself is very relaxing and peaceful. There were not many people there when we arrived, but it was later at night on a weeknight. We ordered the mediterranean spiced lamb chops and also the mac and cheese with chicken. The Lamb Chops were DELICIOUS. The Mac and Cheese was very rich and creamy - more like an alfredo sauce on shells - but very tasty. The portion sizes were great, and more than enough for the two of us. Our waiter was a little bit slow, but we weren't in a hurry and were just trying to enjoy the nice night.

Good time on the Miami River

By ReisenAl |

Don't let the big screen TVs fool you, this is way more than a sports bar with a super view of the Miami River. The food is all home-made and service is wonderful. Great attention to detail-the little things that let you know this kitchen is on it! You will not leave hungry. The manager, Noah, was by our table to greet us before the food arrived. We had dinner before a Marlins-Giants game but I would recommend this joint to anyone in the downtown area looking for a great scratch-made meal. Valet parking was $10 and really your only option.

Brunch!

By rickjohn80 |

This is one of the best brunches I've ever had! My family and I came on a Sunday to sit on the water and watch the Miami Dolphin game and we were blown away by the food!!! The service was outstanding and several Managers came by our table to check on us and our baby boy while we were dining. Views are some of the best in Miami. Our son is very young and the managers and chefs went out of their way to accommodate is baby appetite (he's still a little short on teeth) with some softly scrambled eggs and an awesome desert for us all to share! 100% will be back and I'll be bringing my family and friends. The lunch and dinner menu look great and we can't wait to come back and try it all. 5 Stars! Easily deserved and happy to offer my review.

Basic mistakes

By audilb09 |

Arrived to a good welcome from a knowledgeable barman who new he's draft beers. Ordered from menu a burger with accompanying fries. The burger tasted fine but immediately I tasted the fries they were just warm so I sent them back. Just as I finished my entree the new fries arrived perfectly hot and crisp. If they can send them out correctly 2nd time why not get it right in the first place. Unacceptable basic kitchen mistake. Someone obviously has taken there eye of the ball!. No appology or offer of a gesture off the check. My friends French Onion Soup was also tepid but he said flavour was good. Would not return if ever back in this area. If you can't get the basics right then there's no hope.

Waterfront spinach artichoke dip and a Bloody Mary!

By SavesSpiders |

I went mid week for a late breakfast/lunch. The staff was attentive and the food was very good. The spinach artichoke dip and the Bloody Mary were my favorite parts of my meal. It’s a good idea to ask the waitstaff about the dishes, as they may be different from what you’re used to... which I great news for us adventures who love new experiences, but may be an issue for picky eaters. The waterfront is the star of the show. I’d definitely return on my next visit to Miami.

The Miami River atmosphere ups the rating

Sunday afternoons this place is hopping with bottomless mimosas and a good craft beer selection. The outside patio is literally on the Miami River. Great place to have drinks and watch the boats pass by.

Dinner with a view

By Poohbeck |

We made reservations to eat here on at dinner time during our recent stay. When we arrived the restaurant was very empty but, the staff seemed quite discombobulated. They were very disorganized on our arrival and were struggling to seat the 2 people before us. Once we sat at our our table, our server Chris was phenomenal. He was very attentive and made the night enjoyable. The food was average at best and not anything special. We ordered two appetizers (beef kabobs and chicken wings) that literally tasted like the were just heated up in a microwave. The entrees were good, but, again, not anything special. They have a great location on the river, but, it was hard to find with all of the construction.

Excellent Food & Even Service and Staff!

By LeroyDouglasIII |

Craig, Craig and Craig. Wifey and I visited from Phoenix on Saturday, July 7th,to watch the UFC fights. Craig was our server and he was AWESOME! We were there for over six hours and his service was impeccable. The manager, (Louis, I believe) was awesome as well. He brought out some new drinks they had for me to try and even asked us a few times how we were enjoying our experience. Of course you'd wanna know if food and drinks were good. Food and drinks weren't good, they were excellent! Prices were solid too. We fell in love with Miami (first time visitors) and will go to American Social everytime we return. Leroy M. Douglas, III

great cocktails with a great view

By Adriana R |

A very nice pub located in a very walkable area of Downtown Miami. They have a big outdoor patio on the Miami River with a fascinating view, but I also like their indoor atmosphere: modern but at the same time mixed with “English pub” décor. We came here for HH, and had a couple of craft cocktails (a Smoked old fashioned + a Fifth & Lavender, which were good and strong) and a Spinach dip. Both cocktails and the spinach dip were $10: a good price for the cocktails, but maybe a little bit on the expensive side for the spinach dip, although I really enjoyed it. The service was very good and you can bring your dog inside! I will certainly go back: hopefully we’ll be able to try their “Burger Monday” special (when burgers are only $10)!

Visited for a weekend brunch. The placed was packed.... a group of 200 college students partying. The service and food was fairly good and reasonably priced... drinks were fair and overpriced.

Okay but bring your ear plugs

Cute restaurant in Miami River. Food was good, service was ok. Music so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think and it was the same music over and over. Waitress couldn’t get our order correct because music was so loud. It’s a shame because it had good food and good views of river.

Love the location vibe and feel. Service was excellent.

We arrived and had an amazingly warm Reception, we were sat on a nice square table giving us lots of room and as one of the older guests we were Surrounded by groups of guys and girls having a nice Friday night out, so nice to see. So the food and service. Jackie was our server and she was so nice patient and diligent. We had some meatball sliders to start which were great, followed by a Nashville hot (in taste) burger, mac n cheese and garlic parm fries, my wife had a blackened shrimp salad. All the food was great and fresh but nothing came hit from the kitchen, in fact all the food was warm not hot and the fries and Mac cheese went back, it was a real shame. I love how they comp food (fries) but I want fries with my burger and not a separate course. So hence my review is only 3/5 as food is not hot. Everything else was really nice.

Stag night review .

By craig l |

20 scots arrived there for my laddie's stag night . Paid 75 dollars each for as much drink as we could handle . We had our own staff member who served us whatever we wanted . A big thank you to this guy . We sat outside in a group by ourselves and had a great night reminising as a lot of us had not met for a while . Considering we were mostly scottish i think we handled the night gratefully and gave a good impression until the groom almost made a entrance into the nearby river . In middle of night 2 hostess's invited us to play basketball to win a miami heat shirt and raffle ticket for their next game . Unfortunately i left my t-shirt on a chair . Could you send it to me please . I would recomend a night out there . Food was also excellent - we had naked chicken and crab cakes .

Best steak sandwich

By Robin S |

I am not a big red meat eater but I couldn't resist the beef tenderloin sandwich on the menu. It was a full meal all rolled into one. Wheat toasted bread layered with beef tenderloin, lettuce, tomato and all the trimmings. You could eat like a steak or a sandwich either way it was delicious.

"Quick Lunch"

By Jbl200613 |

I went to American Social on a weekday for lunch with my partner. While we weren't in a huge hurry, I did have to get back for an appointment within and hour (I live in Brickell). The perfect option for this was their in and out lunch special. With the special, you choose an entré and you get a non-alcoholic drink and a desert for a reasonable price. They advertise that you get your food very quickly if you order from this menu. My partner and I both chose the Am So burger as our entre. About ten minutes after we ordered, our server brought our drinks out. I didn't put much thought into it as we already had waters. After about thirty minutes of waiting, we still didn't have our meals. The server kept coming by and telling us our food would be out shortly. After 40 minutes of waiting, my Am So burger came out cooked to order. When the server got to the table, she told us that she had dropped the other burger on her way out and a new one would be up shortly. I'm a very patient and understanding person, so I said ok. Another 15 minutes goes by and the replacement sandwich still wasn't out. At this point she came by and told us it was coming right up. It ended up coming out about five minutes later. The replacement burger was warm and cooked to order which I appreciate. My only problem with this experience was the over promising and under delivering and the subsequent lack of customer service to remedy the issue. I never asked for a discount, but I certainly expected one. I also expected the manager to come out and apologize for the inconvenience. This was my first experience at this restaurant and I don't plan to give them another shot. Aside from the service, the Am So burger with fries was good hence the two stars as opposed to one. Do not plan on an "in-and-out" experience for lunch!

Don’t Bother

Went here for happy hour. Couldn’t get service. Music is loud. Ordered a beer and waited 15 min for it to be delivered. It’s a shame because it is a nice place.

Chef hector is amazing

By ryan h |

Great view on the river, really good music selection. My servers Yusuf and Gaby were amazing but the best part of the day of chef hector personally came out to our table and spoke with us, he even made us a special entree that was not on the menu. I will definitely be back again and recommend to ALL my friends.

Beautiful View...

By Chani B |

I dined here for lunch with my family who was visiting from out of town. It sas my second tine eating here and it was a great choice to display the Miami vibe. We sat outside and the weather was perfect. The view of the waterway really helped to set the beautiful tone. The food was good...I hate the B.L.A.T. which I absolutely love. The food was fresh. The service was a little slow but worth the wait. I definitely recommend this restaurant!!

Good setting...

By Gus F |

Visited this place over Memorial Day weekend and was surprised. I've heard great things but wasn't sure what to expect. The setting is very nice and the food is good. The music was good but no one was dancing. It's more of a stand up and talk over the music place than a lets dance and have fun place. Staff was friendly and the place has a nice decor. I would certainly go back for a drink. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was a nice surprise.

American Social

By 387indy |

At my house its a screened in porch by the swimming pool, at American Social its a great downtown sports bar and location, on the Miami River. Like my house, American Social is pet friendly, so your pooch is welcome. At my house the service and food are ok, at American Social the service and food are very good.

Good Food, Great Atmosphere

By Isabella P |

This restaurant has a great location right on the water. Parking around there is a pain so I'm glad they have valet. Out waiter was really helpful and more than happy to give us some recommendations. The appetizers we ordered were incredible but then our main courses (we ordered a slider sampler and some burgers) were quite disappointing. We had heard a lot about their burgers and were expecting them to be better. Not much flavor and not seasoned well enough. Overall though, it's a great place to get food and drinks with friends. I'll definitely be back.

Pros & Cons

By BlueBsAs |

The place is huge, ypu can opt to be seated at the patio or indoors, it's a sport bar so there are many Tv's all around and indoors it's ridiculous loudly. We tried to make reservations online for Sunday brunch but the system didn't show any availability, so we called and they accommodate us, my reccomendation is to make reservations , as the place was full. For parking you have to go thru valet $10 this for me is a cons. not only for the extra bucks but also because when they returned our car, they have changed the settings, and the wheel was full of grease, for us, American S it's out of our list for coming back. The other Cons was that the food took forever and the kids got impatience . Now the PROS the place is beautiful, very well appointed, the Miami river view is very nice and the server was very attentive. The food was also very good. We are not returning because the only option for parking is the valet service, in case we should next time I will prefer to be seated on the outdoor patio.

Good Vibe, Mediocre Value

By Frank M |

Place has cool vibe. The atmosphere, set up and service is cool. But the cost of food and drinks makes this place a mediocre value. In an area where there are excellent food choices at good prices American Social can't compete, except that it has river front seating. If you're looking for a cool vibe that is water front then this place is for you. If you're looking for good food and drinks at a reasonable price keep looking.

Great place, but terrible manager

By John |

the food and the service was great, but the manager was extremely rude and disrespectful. Couldn't believe his lack of consideration. Probably will not go there again because of him

Happy Hour

Great atmosphere, we sat at the bar & the bartender was very attentive, drinks were never empty & food was delicious. Great low key place for a nice night out.

Beautiful Locale to Chill & View River

By Tosh |

We came for a drink and a great view of the river. Nice outdoor couches that we cozied up to for a couple rounds. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Full bar.

Cool and fun!

By Michelle |

This is a really cool funky little bar right on the river with great ambiance and a yummy menu. We only had snacks but they had a great deal going for happy hour, with 50% off. We had the buffalo wings (yum) and flat breads but would go back for more! It's a great spot to watch the tugs pull boats out - while the bridge opens great views and excellent staff.

Terrible Customer Service

By Silvina R |

As a resident of Brickell and a regular at American Social, I had high hopes when bringing friends and family to this popular spot. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me deeply dissatisfied and concerned about food safety. On March 2nd, after enjoying one of their burgers, I fell seriously ill, suffering from vomiting and diarrhea for two days. I called the restaurant on March 3rd to report my experience. The manager initially assured me that they would cover my entire bill due to my illness. However, that promise was never upheld. After waiting five days without any follow-up, I reached out again, only to be met with a rude response from a different manager who told me they do not offer refunds and quickly hung up. This kind of customer service is unacceptable, especially in light of a serious health issue. I urge potential customers to consider this situation when deciding where to dine. I hope American Social takes my feedback seriously to improve their food safety practices and customer service. As for me, I will not be returning.

Relax on the Miami River with a cocktail and some good food

By Davis S |

We heard about American Social in Ft Lauderdale on the PBS show "Check Please - South Florida" so since we were in Miami for a concert we decided to try the Miami American Social Restaurant. We visited American Social this past weekend for an early dinner before heading to a concert at AA Arena. The restaurant is right on the Miami River which makes for nice outside dining. We had a couple of drinks and then split 3 different small plates of Black Truffle Garlic Fries, The Giant Meatball & Crab Cakes. All 3 items were prepared nicely and they came out as they were ready, so we got the Crab first and then the Meatball about 4 minutes later and then maybe 5 minutes later we got the fries. Not a bad way to server things, it does ensure you get you food hot. Service was really good, and the outdoor seating is very casual and comfortable (this time of year). Great place to watch people and boats as they all returned from a day on the ocean/bay. Plenty of TV's to watch your favorite game. I was really worried about parking, but that became a non-issue, with Valet or on street parking.

Great food and great atmosphere to chill

By TheMiamiUrbEx |

American Social is in a great spot on the Miami River. It's a great place to socialize and meet friends. Its got really comfortable furniture outside and enough to seat many people. Service was surprisingly very friendly which is hard to find in Miami. The only downside was that it took an extremely long amount of time for our drinks and appetizers on a very slow night. I am a very patient person and don't mind waiting a little extra if it's busy as I understand that things happen, but this just seemed like neglect as we waited a very long time on our drinks and apps. However once these came, We ordered our dinner and that came out shortly after. I am pleased to say I'll definitely be back to try more things on their menu. The AMSO burger was really just amazing and their fries are awesome. For an app we had the ahi tuna poke bites which were really really good but really expensive at $16 when you only get literally 5 small "bites" I would highly recommend this place for great food and good service. Great happy hour too!

Great brunch

By Scott S |

I came for brunch with my girlfriend and it was amazing. The view outside was great and the apple walnut french toast was even better. April did an amazing job and was very attentive. This is an excellent brunch place with a great menu and awesome staff.

Great crowd

By Jani |

This is very nice place on the river. Was there today to watch football and it was lit. Great atmosphere great crowd beautiful women. Only down side is that they get very disorganized when they get packed. Otherwise it has that amazing downtown vibe, completely different than south beach.

Fun Place Downtown Miami

By virginiahome64 |

Staying in downtown Miami for night before cruise. This place is quick 5 min uber ride from downtown (the courtyard Marriott specifically). Big patio overlooking the river. We got there around 10pm, and it seemed to be most bar crowd, but good number of people eating outside. We did have to ask for help a couple of times, but as soon as we did, everyone was very nice about taking care of our requests. The food was certainly good enough to enjoy the drinks and view!

After all, it is Miami

By Marta G |

First ,I thought it was a bit loud bc it was packed of screaming young man, but they were watching the Miami Heat basketball game., After all, it is Miami! After the game was over it was very pleasant. The food was delicious and came fast. Drinks were even better. After all, it is Miami! Due to rain we were not able to seat outside but I am going back for sure. The views were amazing. After all, it is Miami! One advise is, do not go in a large SUV. They tell you it does not fit in the garage, valet will charge $60.00 to keep it out in the VIP. After all, it is Miami!

Chill and good food

By marmarfrs |

Unintended dinner destination that was well worth it being this as our first meal in Miami. The food was really good. The ambiance is a plus. Staff is professional. I would come back any time. Relaxing atmosphere and chill

Great nightlife, average food

By michelle j |

Seated outside on a Saturday afternoon around 4:30p. Found out that during 4-5pm, they shift things around in the kitchen to accommodate the dinner prep. Because of this transition, they only offered three items off the menu. We opted to wait an additional 30 minutes before we could order off the full dinner menu. This was a great time to drink some Riesling. Ordered the Rock Shrimp Flatbread (overall good, pomegranate seeds were a perfect touch, portion is small) and the Meatroplis Sliders (meat was good, could have done without the untoasted buns). Overall, it was decent but this place is more known for its drinking atmosphere rather than the food and I can agree with that.

American Social has atmosphere and quality food

By D. Bryant |

I’ve been to American Social quite a few times over the last 1.5 years. I have NEVER been disappointed! My favorite is the fabulous truffle pizza and burgers, however, no food should be left untouched. I’ve not left there feeling unsatisfied in anything I’ve consumed. The flavor in the food served? Mouthwatering, literally....you will probably eat more than you planned. My little secret? Arrive during happy hour so as I’m still sitting there stuffing my face I can also enjoy some other foods when HH ends.

Best Burger in Miami

Great patio on the Miami River and also one of the best burgers in Miami. Monday's are $5 burgers. Great deal! What are you waiting for!!

Great food & location, in dire need of a customer service culture

By Casey W |

I rated this restaurant "Very Good" based on the quality of the food and the location (on the Miami river). But the service needs work. I came on a Wed night @ 6 pm. The restaurant is large and was no more than 1/3 to half full with customers. I sat at their long bar for 5 to 10 minutes before I had to ask if I could buy a drink. FYI - There were about 5 bartenders/barbacks behind the bar, doing everything except keeping their eyes up to see a thirsty customer (me). My group arrived and we then were seated outside at a table. Again, 5 to 10 minutes go by without a server approaching our table. We had to stop a server and ask for help. This restaurant should take lessons from others that pride themselves on great customer service (Hillstone in Coral Gables). This restaurant has lots of potential.

Great FSU bar

By Vengel |

This bar sits directly on the Miami River with indoor and outdoor seating we went there on a Saturday evening for an FSU game the owners went to FSU there for all the TVs get turned on to FSU .The war chant is going on ,it's very friendly environment if you're a Seminole!! I think it would be a great place to take tourists just because of the environment but I thought the drinks were weak and the food was just OK. It was extremely crowded so it did take quite a while to get your drink although the food did appear to come out quickly which was a little concerning. Maybe they should spend a little more time preparing their food and it would improve. It was a super young crowd I would say seniors in college or just post college ,we were by far the oldest ones there, in our 50s. I would go back strictly for the environment and maybe have beer which they have plenty of.

Cheers!

By marisol |

Great place to watch a game or for fight night. Gets pretty busy when there’s a sporting event being televised so your best bet is to make a reservation. Food is pretty standard. Right off the Miami River so it’s nice to see the boats go by while you’re enjoying a beer or cocktail.

Nice patio

By Amanda T |

Stopped in for a drink with colleagues and took a long time to get seated when there were barely any people there. Weird decor - patriotic but also like a pub and a stock ticker? It's on the water which is nice. Felt corporate.

Great bar to hang out and have a great time!

By Ash A |

Super cool place. Great layout and lots of patio space to kick it with your friends. Try the old fashion cocktail....you won't be disappointed!
