Best bar in Deep Ellum

By camkwc |

There are lots of bars and eating places in Deep Ellum but don't miss this gem. There is a good range of mid priced food and lots of beers to choose from. Table dining or a seat at the bar where you can watch all the sport that is happening. It all makes for a great atmosphere and me and my mates have made lots of friends here on our trips from England.

Love Everything About It

By RainingAlbums |

When first hearing about this place in Downtown Dallas I was not to excited to go. My parents had told me it was a bar and restaurant and I wasn't too thrilled about going to a "seedy" place in Downtown. We got there and I completely changed my mind. The people were very nice the music was nice. It was a little dark but that was the way it was supposed to be. The waiters were very nice and great to talk to. I ordered "The Burger" and when it came out it looked beautiful. When I used to live in Texas I had a ton of burgers but this hold the gold medal still. It was cooked perfectly and had an amazing flavor and was complemented by crunchy fries. The waiters were aways ready to come by ad acquire to any needs and made sure everything was perfect. The food came out very quickly and was excellent! I enjoyed eating there when I lived in Texas, and when I return for visits it will be on the top of my list to eat.

Wowzer!

By Helen R |

Down in Deep Ellum a gritty and creative cultural and developing music scene . Ideally situated in this happening place ! The angry dog dispute it's name had a great vibe and worth stepping over the threshold. Now Texans are different sauce on the side , plenty of choice . I don't to slaw but ... I do here ...fresh crunchy creamy and totally dreamy, Rare tuna burger suitably seasoned and delicious. The side of cheesy fries topped it all off - proper hot crispy n fluffy on the inside potatoe chips nothing frozen all fresh . The food is all homemade and to top it off absolutely huge portions, so for smaller appetites you could easily share two possibly three ways! Easily accessible, a fun and enjoyable feed. Staff are attentive relaxed and an easy feel. Definitely going back. Highly recommended which I rarely say go go go if in Dallas then go along for a gig .. something is always going on .

Great find in Deep Ellum

By JustYourAverageJoan |

My husband and I were exploring the area on our recent trip to Dallas, we had looked into Angry Dog as a happy hour spot, upon arrival it appeared to be what some might think "a hole in the wall" and we stepped inside and it was PACKED. We had already had a few stops were there were slim to no people...so this was the place to be! We were able to sit at the bar and had a few drinks, no food for us at this stop but loved the service, beer, and atmosphere!

Decent food with a good selection of beer.

By Kevin B |

Took the family there on a Sunday for dinner. I tried their chicken spedies which were pretty good. I had a local beer that was very good and ice cold. The service was really good. Waiters were friendly and fast

Meh food

By Megan C |

I was recommended this place by a friend who is a local, he said they have good burgers. The burger was okay at best. Nothing special. My boyfriend got a salad, and that was much better with very fresh veggies. Overall not that impressed.

Must Eat

By Nazma Q |

I was in Dallas for 5 weeks for business..so sad i discovered this place before my leave! Best burger I have ever had, FACT! Try the Cheeseburger with grilled onions, it changed my life :)

Burgers Like your Uncle Used to Make

By Ronnie W |

Have a beer, chat with a friend, great burger. I'm sorry, I've been here 15 times and only had the burger. Did I mention that it was good? They're going to ask me what I recommend, obviously , I recommend the burger.

Great Hidden Treasure in Plain Site

By Philip S |

Was in Dallas for a conference and one of ours recommended the Deep Ellum area for good eating. The place we set out for was closed and came across the Angry Dog looking for an alternative. Looks are deceiving. Looks like a dive and turned out to be a great little pub. When we got inside, was very pleased. Great burger. Will be back when visiting Dallas again!!!!

Great bar food

By Sandra Z |

Angry Dog has excellent hamburgers, nachos and wings. I go there every once in a while with folks from work and have really liked everything I have ordered. Portions are large - so be prepared. Sharing is a good option. Haven't partaken yet, but they have a good selection of beers that would make it a good option for happy hour.

disappointing

By jarrow52 |

we visited the angry dog upon recommendation, we won't recommend it, it was noisy and the air con was on so high the place was freezing which could account for the food being on the cold side. My husband and I had chicken fried steak in sauce - yuk there was so much sauce we could hardly find the meat, the same with my sons chicken smothered in mushrooms and onions was correct the chicken was smothered.

Doesn't Live Up to Hype

By Mark F |

Burger was under seasoned and dry. Go to Twisted Root, it is much better. Hell, Carls Jr. is better. Not worth $12. Tables are way to close. They are literally 6 inches apart. You can eat off the table next to you. Got the fried mushrooms and they were horrible. Pre-made frozen mushrooms that you can buy at a grocery store. I think I have bought them at Kroger. Service was good though.

Just Okay

By c22hubb |

We had this during a food tour and I thought it was just OK. They they gave us the street chili and the toppings that go along with it. It was good but it didn’t blow my mind. It was just average. The atmosphere was more like a bar and a hometown

Love the burgers

By Glenn K |

Burgers and fries are great here as are nachos. Feels like a neighborhood pub with great food. One of best in Deep Ellum

Tasteful burgers

By Eduard P |

Very nice place at Deep Allum zone. Very good service. We drank Dallas Blonde Ale beer. This IPA beer had a particular tase and matched very good with our burgers.

excellent food

By Jenna A |

The food was excellent here, service was fast & friendly and prices were reasonable. Would definitely stop in for a bite or a drink alone or with friends when in the area again.

Fun and Delicious

By David K |

If you have read many of my reviews from across the world you know I can be a bit picky. This evening could not have turned out better. This is not gourmet, it is a fun burger kinda place with a real Texas flare. One table had a few guys in ties while another had tattoos and pierced bikers, where everyone got along and enjoyed themselves. Each of the meals for all eleven in our party came out timely, hot and correct. My burger was perfect and actually better than the one I reviewed from Minneapolis where the TV shows stated it would be tops from the whole country. One thing that made our experience exceptional was our server (isn't that usually the case). Vincent fir more the biker look than the coat and tie and had the ideal outgoing personality to fit the restaurant. Just enough fun and table checking but never once interrupted an on-going conversation at the table. He knew to suggest pictures for the table on our phones and ended up in several with us by the end of the evening. After eating a few nights in a row at the "best places in town" this proved a wonderful reminder that good food in a fun place makes for the best evenings. Give them a try and enjoy.

Food is excellent!

By TahoeChic14 |

The food is very good here. The prices aren't too bad. And it has a biker bar feel to it. The staff is friendly and have great personalities. Parking is horrible in downtown Dallas. If there are events going on, it's very hard to find anywhere to park. And sometimes you aren't allowed to park in the lot next to the restaurant.

It's a bar but family friendly

By meinbigd |

After a day of going to the zoo, I took my children out to dinner. I'm a local, so I know Deep Ellum is known for the bar and club scene. Go before dark to take your family. Meter parking is free before 6 pm. Parking and restaurant selections are much better than paying downtown or West End especially if your dressed casual and looking for an eclectic atmosphere for less money. Service at the Angry Dog with superior, and the hamburgers and hot dogs were the best. Be sure to try locally brewed beer during your visit and give yourself time to check out the murals and street art. Yum!

Great choice in Deep Ellum!

By Paul G |

Service was excellent! Very quick lunch. Waitress was very helpful. Angry Dog signature plate was great! Prices very reasonable! Great beverage choices! Worth a stop!

Must try

By FREPLUG |

Stopped on a bar hopping trip and with locals who swear by the place. Was not disappointed. Chicken wings, although on the very small side were alive with taste. The sauce was amazing and the super hot delightful. Great service and they made a decent drink. Beers are on tap and can or bottle as well. This is a smaller inside but busy and alive with happy people. Well worth stopping.

Sooo good!

By Jacqueline M |

My last night in a Dallas (for a short 3 day trip), I tried Angry Dog as our last dinner stop. Best choice! It is in a great location with a huge parking lot next to it. It has a huge beer selection. The food was incredible. I had a burger and fries. The burger was huge with a good portion of fries. The burger was so juicy and delicious. The fries were crisp to perfection. I wish I could have eaten it all, I tried, but I just couldn’t. On top of the food and beer, the service was spot on! Our server was awesome! Would definitely recommend this place and if I’m ever back in dallas, I’ll definitely make another trip to this place!

Excellence

By Bradley F |

This place is fantastic. Great food and great people. I got everything in a timely manner and it was all hot and tasty. Wonderful selection of brew and the atmosphere is perfect. Nothing more I could ask for in a fine establishment like this.

Party for a Co worker

By 48nascarfan48 |

well the first thing was the waiter basically ignored the women at the table until we called him back one of the women was the one the party was for, we all had different things, I had fried pickles they were OK, My Drinks were OK the shot I had seemed Overpriced it was $11.00 and at other places its $7-$8, so the meal I had was supposed to be a Quesada with chicken DINNER, all I got was the Quesada No I didn't complain I think NO I won't recommend or go back

Good food, great place, good service

By cbaery08 |

Second time I've been there and was still great food and service. Hipster atmosphere in Deep Ellum but very cool. Great drink menu and good drink specials. 3.50 for mimosas and bloody Mary's on the weekends. Good strong ones. Love that place and will go back every time I go back to Dallas.

Best burger

By EARS111 |

Our "go to" for a great burger and crispy fries. Good, funky staff that will surprise with their friendliness.

Great Food

By THK1971 |

Loved The Angry Dog Great Service The Food Is Always Good I Live In Georgia And Have Eaten There Several Times While In Dallas They Always Have Great Service And Great Food

Typical bar/American food, quite good

By bigboy61455 |

Food: - This place is advertizing their good hot dog and burgers. I tried $7 "angry dog" - good meat, chili is also tasty. Also provided with extra crispy (?double fried "frites") french fries and that's the best in a pub as you can imagine. Service: - is also quite attentive, unusual in bar setting. Sports TV everywhere.

Great Burger

By Len L |

We went here based on being told this place had a very good Burger probably the best around. I will say the people that sent us there were correct. The Burger was fantastic and i would have to say one of the best i have eaten. We were told meat comes in fresh everyday and so does the produce. Draft beer was cold and went well with the burger and cheese fries.

Late night burgers so good

By Oldnway |

Stopped in Angry Dog with my daughter during a visit to Dallas. We has some very tasty burgers and seasoned fries. Food was better than your typical bar food. Friendly attentive staff and cold beer. Pub food at its best.

Only Average

By WindsorP |

Went to Angry Dog based on reviews, but was a little dissapointed.Service was prompt, and food arrived quickly, but both starters and mains arrived together, which meant that the mains were getting cold while we had starters. The deep fried pickles were good but the rest of the food was only average. It appears to be a trendy restaurant as opposed to a very good restaurant.

Best Burger in Dallas

By Kevin M |

I've been eating at Dallas restaurants for over 40 years. I have never found a better burger in Dallas. The Angry Dog never disappoints. However if you are looking for something different (i.e., a Bison Burger or Ostrich Burger), this is not the place for you. If you like to stick to the classics, this is your place.

Great Neighborhood spot

By Joel S |

A great no frills, exposed brick and concrete floor sports pub. I enjoyed the Angry Dog Chili Dog and fries.

Great dive bar, low key and easy

By fsheats |

Been going to Angry Dog for years and it never disappoints. Great hot wings, angry chicken sandwich and hamburgers. Not fancy but easy.

Very Disappointed

By JenM201108 |

Went based on Dallas Morning News "Best Burger" award. The atmosphere was great for the Deep Ellum area, the service was excellent, but the food was well below what we expected. We seated ourselves per the sign, servers came right over and took our drink order and gave us menus, answered our questions perfectly. We had the quacamole and chips to start. The quac was very fresh, as was the salsa, the chips were also good although there were several that were soft. We ordered an 2 Angry Dogs, all the way, a Burger all the way, and had sides of fries and pasta salad. The hot dog was great, but the chili was very bland. Ordered the burger med well and it was charcoaled, very dry and flavorless. The pasta salad was bland, the fries were good. Definitely not the best burger in Dallas. Will not be going back.

Fine...average doesn't mean bad

By 2BEis2SKI |

Stopped in for snacks. Got wings and mozerella sticks. The mozerella wasn't very good. Wings are wings and those were fine. It's kind of dark in there and to me, is more bar than restaurant. It does have a kind of cool, throwback vibe. Lot of wood, older style place where the bar is front and center. In Deep Ellum neighborhood so parking is pricey.

Great dive bar with a great selection and delicious burger!

By TXstud |

This place lived up to the hype, the burger was good size and cooked perfectly, the fries were above average. You should know this is pretty much a bar and not really a family restaurant although I guess you could bring kids if you wanted. Enjoy! Worth a stop!

The dog was angry!

By Krystal T |

This place has been on my google and yelp to go place for years! I finally went because my friend from Australia came to visit and was like let try a place you haven't been. Great choice it was! The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms. Many interesting photos in the bathroom . The customer service was excellent! Food was amazing and filling. I got the angry dog and my friend the plan one with add ons. I love my experience here and the music!

great wings, great burgers, great service

By EJsgirl527 |

My burger was excellent. It was also huge. The mild wings were delicious, but more of a medium level heat. I would definitely visit this place again for a burger or wings. You could not possible walk away hungry, as the portions are large. Great price, great portions.

Best Burgers in Dallas

By Aviel P |

It's not a fancy place – but the service is great & the burgers are the best !!! Don't miss this place when you are in Dallas

Good food Friendly staff

By lightfader |

Visited Angry Dog prior to a gig at the Bomb Factory. Great burgers, prompt friendly service and a fabulous selection of beers. Good prices too. Definitely will be back next time in Deep Ellum area

Good stop for lunch

By Mike P |

Somewhat of a little dive bar in eccentric Deep Ellum. Fast service, good selection of food. Drinks were good. Food was average. Would stop again for lunch or light fare.

Dinner after the Irish fest

By CMSSF |

Hot wings, hamburgers, hot dogs nice salads great service small facility and busy, unbelievable wine selection with hard to find pino Grigio. Good drinks and the price is reasonable.

Great bartender. Nice beer selection.

By sportyangel215 |

We came for a beer and had a great time chatting with the bartender. Gotta love another foodie! The bartender was also vary knowledgeable about the beer so helped steer us right. We weren't interested in bar food but the burgers are supposed to be great. Good luck with those!

Nothing to get angry about!

By Mark S |

Well we had a couple of really excellent half pound burgers here. The atmosphere is pretty lively, and the staff were all very cool but attentive. We never needed to ask to get our drinks topped up and the food arrived promptly. It seemed freshly made and way better than any chain burger you'll ever have. There's a really great selection too, and no one (there were eight of us) had any difficulty finding something they wanted. Not one of us regretted our choice either! Just a hint to the guys. Visit the restroom even if you don't really need to. I promise you won't regret it!

Amazing Nachos

By THK1971 |

Nachos Are As Good As You Will Ever Eat Service Is Very Friendly The Wings Were Ok But Not Great This Place Has Great Hot Dogs Also Skip The Wings

As American as it gets

By Steven D |

As a non American, this place looked like it came straight out of a movie. Rating it was tough. It's a great experience for a traveller. Great service and ambiance making it a very good place to visit. The food is good bar food, but making it hard to rank a 5. That being said, try the Angry Dog.

Great dogs!

By 3divasmom |

Best dogs in town! We went after a volleyball tournament. Something for everyone. Great mimosas. Great atmosphere. Great staff.

Cheer coaches

By SANDY H |

We came here for lunch during a cheer convention. It was great. Burger was good. Grilled cheese was delicious. The Natural sandwich was really good Fries good! Definitely a great local place to eat!

Not the Best

By sarcar97 |

Went with a friend, because she wanted to try their award winning nachos & wings. Our server Kellen was absolutely wonderful! The food however was a different story. 1/2 order of nachos was good, but $3 to add taco meat was steep. Fried pickles & fried mushrooms were ok, nothing unusual. I had a salad & our other friend had a spinach salad, both with blue cheese dressing. Salads were good but the BC dressing was like no other I have ever had, & not in a good way. One of us had a regular burger & it was only ok, nothing to write home about. There are too many other truly outstanding burgers in Dallas to come back here. The only standout good thing was that their restroom was absolutely the cleanest I have ever been in--kudos for that!

Great casual local bar

By Gumdrop09 |

I am not a huge Deep Ellum local, but if I were I would def frequent this bar for its happy hour. Good selection of beers, and awesome low priced house cocktails. The food is about a step up from typical bar food but perfectly good if that's your style. Loved the staff! Basically a good little local bar.

Great burger

By tripin1 |

Was in town for the 1AA National Championship and we landed here for a dinner. Good online reviews, and recommended. Beverages and of course the burgers were great. Server Austin assisted us.

Very good lunch!

By Michael B |

First time here on a Saturday for lunch, no waiting. Great chicken nachos, burgers and fries. Will come here again.

Burger and beer

By Nated2519 |

This is a nice place to have drinks, and one of the best burgers in Deep Ellum. Great staff, and nice atmosphere. Staple in Deep Ellum.

Angry Dog, Happy Diner

By Nancyandmike2014 |

Located in the artsy district of Dallas, this location provides a laid back attitude for all looking for a casual, fun atmosphere and good food at reasonable price. We had great burgers and onion rings.

Date Night

By vctrbrooks |

wanted to go someplace different for a quick evening out with the hubby and found this place on the internet. I have my favorite go to burger joint, but wanted something different. unfortunately this may now be my favorite. the service was exceptional! the food came out so quick we actually were laughing (the thought we were crazy). i have never experienced a burger where i could actually taste seasoning where we were having conversation on what we could taste. This is definitely five stars for food, and SERVICE. Not sure about kids because it is a bar type atmosphere.

General pub/bar food

By C G |

Not bad overall, but very crowded and not really a place to enjoy conversation, as it is loud. They pack the tables in, so be ready to get to know your neighbor. The service was not bad, though the kitchen timing was a bit off, receiving the appetizer after the entree. Overall the food was not bad, a good burger and a decent corned beef sandwich. The onion rings were a bit overdone, and they are the thin type, so if you are wanting the nice thick type, this is not the place.

Big food, big appetite

By Astros80 |

If you like heavy, comfort, Americana food then this is your place. Big juicy hotdogs and even a burger for the non dog persons. Can't go wrong unless you have a weak tummy.

Worth the hype!

By leahalanis |

I've had this place on my radar for a while, now, and just tried it last night. I get what the fuss is about and why they've won awards. My friend had the burger. It's a simple, no frills burger. Just moist, flavorful meat and whatever add on you want on a perfect bun. I had the tuna steak burger and it was sooooo good. The tuna was still juicy and perfectly seasoned. The onion rings were good, too. The batter is light and crispy and doesn't slide off the onion when you bite in. And, fun little side note, who doesn't love a place with a whole bathroom stall devoted to George Clooney, haha!

Great food and Great people

By Shari W |

We frequent the place every Friday because the food is fast and great tasting along with the bartenders are very friendly

Felt cluster phobic.

By Sylvia G |

Tables r extremely 2 close 2 each other & our backs r inches from touching each other. This is the main reason that we will most likely not return. Now on the good side. Our waiter was 1 of the nicest we have had in a long time. He was very attentive & our drinks were never empty. Kids loved the cheese fries with bacon. I on the other hand thought they were 2 greasy but good. Burgers were good but 3 out of the 4 in our group prefered sticking with Twisted Root Burger a couple of doors down the block. The burgers needed more seasoning. Everything is extra. Like cheese, bacon, jalapeños, ranch & so forth. In all we had 4 waters, 3 bacon cheeseburgers & 1 regular burger all with small portion of fries & the cheese fries in which we added bacon. Total was around $63. Again the food was okay but the seating was extremely uncomfortable for us 2 return. Oh I forgot bacon was 2 over cooked & our well done burgers were a tad bit burned as shown in picture.

It was an average burger. That's all.

By Keith B |

In these times of really good burgers, the Angry Dog served me a rare (I ordered medium rare) OK burger. The meat was just decent quality. The fries were ordinary. The coke was somewhat watered down. Sure, the atmosphere is fun and if that is what you want principally, you'll enjoy it for that reason. Service was good.

Fun area, great atmosphere, average food

By politetraveler |

My wife and I had dinner here and hadn't been in this part of Dallas before. It's a great area to go get some drinks and a bite. The Angry Dog had a great atmosphere and the Bartenders and staff worked very hard to make sure the visit was enjoyable. We had the wings (which were pretty small pieces in size) and the burger. They note on the menu the awards that the burger has been recognized for. I love burgers and always look for opportunities to try them especially ones that have been recognized as exceptional. I felt that their burger was unfortunately average. I give the restaurant 4 marks for great service and atmosphere but food was average. An additional note, be prepared to pay for parking after 6pm throughout the entire week.

Great burgers and tap wall

By a1davis |

The burgers are some of the best in Dallas and the tap wall will have you coming back for more. Come early as seating can be limited.

Awesome Burger and Service, Fries Were Lacking

By BBoyDTF |

Two of us couples were running late on a Wednesday night and asked the waiter up front if the wait would be too long on food. He said no, so we trusted him and ordered very quickly. 3 of the 4 of us had their burger, the other person had some cheese fries (which he regretted later and wished he had gotten a burger). The burgers were VERY tasty. The fries were just average. Our waiter was super, keeping tabs on how quickly we needed to be served and leave. He had our food out quickly and we took only 25 minutes to order, get our food, and eat! It helped that it was a Wednesday night, too. Thanks to Angry Dog burgers - SUPER burgers and service!

Great grub and local brews too!

By Bearded Delight |

Another great "dive food joint" but that doesn't stop the fact they whip up a killer Tuna Burger and Chili Dog...wash it down with a local Deep Ellum Brew to end the night right.

Great place will definitely return

By Kelley M |

Wow the burgers are fabulous! Angry Dog (hot dog with chili) was really good too! Service was great as well. Can't say enough about this place. We drove 1 hour to eat with friends. Will def visit again

Good doggy!

By joanna2144 |

This is a great spot to stop for a massive Texas-style hot dog and locals beers. The service was attentive and friendly, and the food did not disappoint. We had lunch here before going to the Cowboys game, and The Angry Dog was so filling, we ended up not having to spend a dime (or should I say a lot of dimes $$$$$) at the stadium.

Great Grub in Deep Ellum

By Lee H |

Angry Dog is an Institution in Dallas Pub and Grub Lore - A great decision in Deep Ellum. Best Burger, Best Fries, the Angry Dog of course, Chips and Queso, Jalapeno Poppers and of course Beers! Dig In!

Loyalty reigns.

By FrequentSleper |

Of all the places in Dallas, this is the place that gets the loyal patrons back consistently. Most people don't need the menus, they know what they want before they get there. They do pack you in, close quarters. The food is more than decent.

So-so

By Samantha S |

We went to Angry Dog when the sandwich shop across the street, Uncle Uber's, was closed for the Christmas holiday vacation. There was nothing wrong with the food at Angry Dog, it just wasn't as good as the other food we had in the DFW area. Service was very prompt. Food came out before we barely had time to finish our chips & salsa appetizer. Would skip next time I'm in area.

Great burger & sandwiches!

By bathos13 |

A bit of a dive but the food is excellent, the service is friendly and fast and the prices pretty cheap. We stopped in to eat before a show and we had a drink and our food and were out the door all within about 25 minutes! The grilled cheese is to die for.

Pretty good

By Kathy S |

Came with husband and teenagers very casual bar restaurant several televisions. We had Nate's burger good but maybe not worth $15. Chicken sandwiches good refried beans good.

Typical of Dep Ellum

By Mr G |

My son took me there promising the best burger, from the best burger award. Trouble is with the excellence in burgers, the have to have numerous things with it to make them stand out...and then they aren't a burger. He got the deluxe, I got the normal one. Was it good? Yes. Cooked the way I asked, flavorful. Nice bun. A bit on the runny side for me. But not a bad burger. But just a burger. Thought about the club sandwich that the waiter said was good, but too much burger pressure from my son. He liked his super burger. Typical Deep Ellum atmosphere. Young, music, lively, fun. Lots of draft beer on tap. Hard to choose. Waiters fun and easy to talk with, Nothing bad about it, but to me just a pub/burger place. Many other places in Deep Ellum to try.

If you eat a burger somewhere else, your a dummy!

By Angela Holtz |

We went here before our concert at Fair Park! We decided to try D Magazines best burger joint! Let me tell you... Probably the best burger I have ever had! We paid $5.00 to park. Went to eat and drink. Decided to take a cab over to the concert! We didn't worry about our car because the $5.00 paid for the parking space for the entire evening! After the concert, we went back to the Angry Dog. Had beer and wings! Warning: the wings were good, but very very very spicy! They warned us but we took the challenge. I can't wait to go back! Busy place, but worth it!

Awesome chili

By Laura O |

We went for the chili and it was fantastic! It had just the right amount of spicy and kick. We got the hamburger and the chili dog and they were one of the best we ever had. Prices were very fair and the atmosphere of the place was a lot of fun.

They don't care

By Reeny2012 |

May be good at the burger but staff unfriendly and jaded. They just don't care too much for you at the bar...going through the motions here...

decent lunch spot

By Ayaan K |

The chilli cheese dog was pretty good, came with some fries. The servers are pretty rude but I ignored it. Gets a little crowded on weekends.

Great disappointment

By joytotheworld2013 |

Had the best hot dog if my life here a few years ago so decided to drive the hour plus on the 4th of July for a hot dog. What a change! This one was the worst I have ever had. First the bun was not plump, but a bit mangled and though the wiener was split and grilled nicely the toppings were skimpy. Last visit I could only eat half because it was massive....this time I could have easily eaten the whole thing, I just did not because it was not good. The onions, supposedly grilled, might as well have been boiled as there was absolutely no caramelization. Sorry, my last visit there.

A quick bite or a few beers either way this is your place.

By Tracey Woodfin Clifton |

On the menu there is a note that says we were a bar then we got hungry! Well I am glad they did! We had burgers (build your own with nearly whatever you want) onion rings and fries, a hot dog and a grilled cheese. We did of course have a few beers and while yes they have some craft beers they also have regular beers, wine and liquor for mixed drinks. This is the cheers in your neighborhood, just a great place to hang out. Our waiter Austin, was smart and helpful, his service was friendly and I could tell he enjoyed his job. Don't come here looking for some crazy french cheese or rare wine or craft beer. Come to this fabulous "joint" for a beer, a burger or a hot dog and you will be glad you did!! Oh and we were doing senior pictures and were here during the day and while yes there were people at the bar it was very family friendly ... we were here on a Monday mid-day.

Great Food, Great Atmospere

By Debbie K |

This place was fun (a bit loud) but the food was casual fare and so GOOD ! The most outstanding service I've ever experienced in this type of restaurant. All orders come with French Fires served in a dog bowl...kitschy but cute. Located in the Deep Ellum District which is the up and coming newest hip neighborhood in sprawling Dallas.

Good service and beer, burger not so much

By Bill M |

We went to Angry Dog for dinner with a large group while in town for a convention. We went there because they were rated as one of the best burgers in Dallas. The burger was just OK. If that's the best that Dallas can do, then they're in trouble. Service was excellent. Food came out quickly. Great selection of beer.

Drop by

By RWG6612 |

Good thing the name is on the exterior wall or could easily miss it. Friendly, attentive service when we popped in during slow afternoon visit. Huge order of cheese fries, plenty to split for 2 or 3... sandwiches & beer selection looked pretty diverse, would stop again!

Best burger

By John R |

Greatest burger in Deep Ellum can't wait to get back grab some brews. Really centrally located there's a ton of places to go do things right around it including the brewery

I tried the Griffters Queso and wasn't disappointed!!!!! Like I saw on another website it's one of the best in Dallas. Also had chicken fried steak and it to was F'ing good! This will require a 2nd, 3rd visit!! My wife was very happy I picked this place!

Some of the best food in Deep Elum

By Tony C |

I have been there numerous times and the food is always great. This place is know for the fantastic burgers. It is rather small and has a feel more of a bar than a restaurant. Service is always prompt. You won't be disappointed..

Great Burgers and more

By Mark R |

This is another one of those places that I have tried and failed to get into multiple times because I won't wait on line. When I finally did get in? Great Burgers and more!

The Cow was also angry!

By Carla Z |

We heard this was the place for the best hamburger in Dallas. If it is then Dallas is in a heap of trouble. Burger was dry, fries were cold, and lettuce was brown. The tomato looked like it had been cut 3 days ago and the onions had zero taste. They may need to come to Austin to see what a real great burger can be found.

Disappointment

By RWLloyd56 |

After everything that we had heard about the food we were very disappointed. We started with the Fried Pickles, which were very good, but the it went downhill from there. We had ordered the Angry Dog hot dog and a burger. The food was cold and the burger was kind of tasteless. I don't think that we will go back to again.

Good stop before cruising Deep Ellum

By Richard S |

I eat lunch here once a week, and stop in before cruising Deep Ellum every so often on the weekend, or when they have an art festival. Burgers are good, steak sandwich is good. Drinks are heavy and inexpensive.

Fantastic Burgers

By suzannes278 |

The burgers are fantastic! All ingredients are fresh. We never had to wait for drink refills. All orders were served exactly as ordered. Our server, Joel was the greatest. He even took the time to give us directions to take a walking tour around Deep Elum to look at the murals. If you want to have a good time, and make an ordinary day a great one, go to Angry Dog. It has been in Deep Elum over 20+ years. Love it!!!

Good Beer, Better Burgers!

By James M |

We heard that this place was known for its hotdogs and burgers. We were not disappointed! The range of beers was impressive, staff and locals alike were really friendly and helped with recommendations on what to drink! Great vibe.

Good burger, nothing special.

By CharmlessNerk |

Good service, and a very good atmosphere. The burgers were OK, but frankly nothing special. That said, food options in Dallas for visitors seem pretty poor, so if you're here on a trip I would recommend it.

Been around forever

By Mojoanna |

The Angry Dog is a comfortable place where staff seems to never change, and food is consistently good. Of course, it's hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches and more and lots of varieties of beer. Comfortable atmosphere. Love it.

The hamburger was out of this world.

By julie1003 |

The food was exceptional. The bar was fun! Lots of people there but the service was amazing! Great tap beers. If you can't find a great beer here, you won't find it anywhere.

Hip place for a burger

By JRsNeighbor |

Good burgers. Plentiful choice of beers. Not a long wait and convenient to Deep Ellum. Definitely will keep this place in mind when downtown.

Yummy in my tummy.....

By CaPaMa24 |

Went in for a quick bite to eat and I must say, we were pleasantly surprised. Ordered the hamburger because that appeared to be the most popular item everyone was eating and it was pretty delicious. Went on a Saturday night and this place was probably the most crowded out of the other restaurants that are in the area. I would definitely go back and recommend this place.

Pre Circus Dinner

By Mark D |

So we're on our way to the circus and I friends say you've got to go eat at The Angry Dog we're like What is the angry dog? Best dinner we have had! The appetizer we had were cheesy fries and queso I think there was more cheese and there was french fries oh so good. For dinner we had Burgers. Daughter had a chicken quesadilla and she loved it. Oh and for the burgers you've got to get the onion Mayo. They chop up red onions in the may!! It is wonderful we will definitely be back

My new favorite place

Great Fast Lunch

By Bryan T |

It seems impossible that they can be as quick as they are when they are as busy as they are, and the food comes out perfect every time. Great place to eat!

One of the best burgers in towm

By Julia H |

We have tried many burger joints in and around Dallas & this is one of our favorites. Big juicy burgers. Good service. Kind of a dive but really good food.

Best Burger. The End

By 728chantellew |

We have been going to Angry Dog for years, and are continually impressed with not only the burger, as mentioned above, but the staff as well. We generally sit at the bar, and always get amazing service, and have great conversation with the guys behind the bar. Love, love, love this place.

Great burgrrs

By AQueenB |

Fun and friendly. Every employee was smiling. And the food was delicious! Hot and perfectly cooked an each order was correct even tho we were a large group

So delicious !!!!

By Gaia G |

the burger is delicious!!!!! The "community" beer tastes pretty good. The guys are super nice. Restroom clean. What do you want more than this? Just stop by and try it!

First time here - not bad.........

By Dina J |

Came here on a Sunday afternoon....busy and loud for my taste. Had appetizers and they were your average appetizers. Food was luke warm when they were served. I need to come back and try the burgers

All good

By 1tyme |

Love this spot in Deep Ellum. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the Angry Dog which I convert to the Double Dog. Try it!

Hands Down, My Favorite!!

By DocSnarky |

Every single time we're in Dallas, a visit to Deep Ellum is a must, and a stop at Angry Dog is essential!!! I absolutely frigging love this place! Blood and Honey beer, the best hamburger I've ever had in my life, and amazing chili on the side! Take your statin and DO NOT miss this gem in Deep Ellum!!!

Great Burgers!

By Clayton A |

Some friends and I decided to go have a burger. After reading reviews on burger joints we decided to try out Angry Dog. Great choice!! Burgers were great.

I'm Hungry for the "Angry Dog"

By Guy W |

Take a look at their website, they are every bit of what they say are, and You won't be disappointed. I had the Angry Dog and it was delicious. My wife had the Angry Burger AKA "Big Nate's" and it was awesome tasting and it was "HUGE". We had it for breakfast the next day. If your in Dallas you have to visit the Angry Dog, "It's one of a kind"

Nice local place for a burger and beer.

By A47 |

The food is pretty good and there is a nice beer list. The "Angry Dog" is there token menu item and it is a tasty version of the hotdog. Nothing too complicated here, its hard to mess up burgers and hotdogs.

nice place to eat

By Belinda S |

this place has some of the best sandwiches and piled high nachos. If you go at lunch time be ready for a wait, but its well worth it.

Great burgers

By Glenn K |

This is a dive bar, and proud of it. Regulars are welcomed and strangers are quickly accepted. Great food and extensive collection of beers

The best Burger❤️

By Mohamed Z |

Its the best burger ever try , must be visit while in Dallas downtown , it worth it "AMAZING DOG BURGER🍔" , clean place and lovely staff . The price is acceptable.

Lunch!

By J T |

Based on Trip Reviewers, decided to try this Deep Ellum favorite when we were downtown. Parking was challenging--even on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant was not crowded and we were seated right away. Service was friendly, helpful and attentive--water glasses were always full! I tried the Angry Dog Hamburger (with carmelized onions), hubby had the Angry Dog "Dog". Both were good, generous and tasty--but not exceptional! Meat was cooked perfectly to medium rare, but bun was ordinary, as were LTP. Sides of fries and onion rings were not crisp and slightly greasy. Portions were above average, but not overly generous for cost. Restaurant was not crowded, so were not bothered by noise or proximity of other individuals, though tables were close. Probably will not return unless with a group that decides to go here.

Excellent "Angry a Dog"

By MarkMM55 |

My wife and I stopped in today for lunch...a busy Saturday...but found a table and ordered a pitcher of Lakewood Brewing's Dallas Blonde. Yummy way to start the meal. We both ordered the Angry Dog (Hot Dog) and Fries. My wife skipped the chili, but the waitress was kind enough to allow me to order her chili "on the side" so I could add it to my dog. Greatness. Very flavorful dog and cooked just fine. The fries came in their own serving bowl and were nice and warm and crispy. Service was fine...even on a busy lunch Saturday. We had not been here in a good while as we live in Denton, but was very happy to see the Angry Dog was just as yummy and friendly as we remembered. Must come more often!

Bar food taken to a new level.

By kcwKeyWest_FL |

Angry Dog is a Dallas institution in funky Deep Elum. If you want a great lunch with an eclectic crowd, craft beers and an abundance of very good bar food, this is the place to eat. Of course the dog is the signature dish and is covered with so much chili that a fork is needed. Good appetizers, and some unique dishes not usually found in bars. Did I mention that the serving sizes are LARGE?

Angry Chicken is the BOMB!!!

By Laura Queen |

Great burgers and GREAT Angry Chicken sandwich!! They get very crowded for lunch so get there early!!

Very Cool Place

By ourholidayroad |

This place definitely isn't for prudes or those that are quick to judge a book by it's cover. The inside looks very dive bar like, but it is very clean. The ladies bathroom is covered in pictures of good looking men, and the mens washroom with pictures of good looking women, which is a funny surprise when you get in there. The servers are amazing. Every single one of them, from the host to the bartenders and bus boys. The guy we had serving us looked like a rock star, and treated us amazingly. They were fast, checked on you often to ensure you were happy, very friendly, and you can tell they're passionate about providing great service. We both ordered "The Burger", and my boyfriend who is a burger fanatic said it was one of the best he's ever had. I usually don't even like burgers but loved how much flavour this one had, and the meat was cooked to perfection for how I ordered it. The fries were also great, and we ordered the wings to start which while not the best I've ever had were still very enjoyable. We made it here in time for happy house as well, and the house wine was somewhere around $4 a glass I believe, which was an amazing deal. I would definitely go back here to try out some more apps and a different burger next time.

Ketchup packets don‘t belong on top of food!

By Thomas D |

I ordered some food that was delivered. Basically it was good and tasty! But what I didn‘t like at all was, that they put ketchup packets on top of the food! Also dips like sour cream or guacamole don’t belong into the food box during transport! In my opinion these kind of things have to be delivered separately, especially during Covid-19 times! This makes me angry!

Great dogs and great beers

By Ugo C |

This place is very well-known for a reason. The food is tasty, the service is great and the beer selection real good. Enjoyed my time here. Will come back.

Best service in Dallas!

By amae16 |

We loved Angry Dog! As soon as we arrived walked in, we were greeted and seated by one of the nicest guys in Dallas! We were after true American food and that's what we got! Chicken wings, hot dogs, fries. Drinks were great! Biggest menu of beer I've seen! And cocktails were great. Everything was cheap and service was on point! If we had more time in Dallas we would most definitely return!!

Daughter's birthday, this is her favorite place.

By HotMom69 |

It was ok, but our food was cold, and some of our stuff wrong. We had a big group, I've been here before with a party of 4 and it was better. I'm taking home half my hotdog, I'm sure it will be much better hot. Service was good, otherwise I'd rate it a 2.

Good not great

By karrmichael |

I had high expectations reading the reviews and considering how starving I was when I got there! We got the nachos (can make better at home - nothing special) and i got the papa's grilled cheese. Did not care for the grilled cheese - way too much blue cheese on it. Cool atmosphere though. Boyfriend got the Angry Dog and enjoyed it.

Angry Dog

By Mlarsen880 |

Local venue, with great reviews, from both friends and Trip Advisor. The burger was good as was the BLT my wife had. Prices are moderate, huge selection of beer, a little pricey though. As with anything on Commerce street parking is problematic, parking on the street is usually free during the day, and the for fee parking lots are usually busy & full, try late afternoon or early evening. Deep Ellum (Elm) tends to get really busy after dark. Good place to eat and hang out for an hour or so.

You will feel like a local here

By 8ric |

Awesome local bar with great beers and bartenders. Howard (bartender) was great. A very friendly guy who shared his advice about the Deep Ellum area, nice since we were from out of town. Now we did not eat there but the food coming out looked great and I could here patrons comment how good it was. I would definitely make a special trip to the area and stop by here for a beer and some eats. It's a very friendly atmosphere, a mix of locals and some out of towners. Next time I'm in Dallas, I'll pay a visit to the angry dog to have Howard pour me a cold one!

If there s a line you know its a good choice

By joanne777 |

Love the lively energy here. Not much to look at from the outside but it s huge! Had a burger and the tuna burger both awesome. I love the bun it truly makes the sandwich. Good fries and great selection of beers. Fast service once we were waited on. Great meal with beer under 40

Ok, But I Expected Better

By Jared K |

I was meeting a former co-worker for lunch before my move away from Dallas. Angry Dog was perfect both in terms of location and food genres. This place has won numerous local awards for things like Best Burger, Best Hangover Therapy, and Best Hot Dog, to name a few. With credentials like that, I was anxious to try it out. Despite my better judgment, I went with the Double Dog Dare: a burger patty, ham, hotdog, chili, bacon, cheddar, and grilled jalapenos, served with chili cheese fries and a draft beer. Basically, it's all of Angry Dog's heart attack-filled gloriousness on one plate, plus bacon. It's also like an adult happy meal, except with beer as the toy. This calorie-heavy monstrosity came with a salad for some reason, which I passed off to my lunch companion. I'm not sure what a salad was meat to accomplish here. They might as well have given me a bowl of melted butter to slurp down instead. As for the carnivorous main course, it was interesting to say the least. The hotdog had a crisp char. The burger was a little crumbly, but had good flavor. Their chili could stand to be a little more coarsely ground, although the cheese and jalapenos tied the whole thing together nicely. Bacon was a nice touch, but smaller diced bacon (or even pancetta!) would be better. The accompanying cheese fries were kind of soggy. At least they tasted good. Angry Dog was tasty enough, but I don't think it lived up to all of the hype. Read my other reviews, complete with pictures: Search "The Barbecue Fiend"

Drinks, Beer, Hotdogs & Hamburgers while watching the Cowboys beat the Ravens

By aestevespo |

Great joint for watching a football game accompanied by good friends, food and drinks in an inviting casual ambience. Vast selection of beers. Hamburgers were real good and tasty. Chili was real good. Had a great Bloody Mary. The cheesecake for dessert was more or less. The bathrooms are a must visit for visual entertainment. Service was attentive. Recommend it.

Best burger

By TexasMal |

Went to Angry Dog on a Saturday around 1:00 p.m. It was crowded, but we were seated quickly in an area full of soccer kids and parents. Could have cared less. Angry Dog gets wonderful burgers to you in record time. You will enjoy every bite, and the service was amazing. It's loud, it's crowded, and it's delicious. If you're in the mood for a quiet lunch, stay away. If you want the best burger in Dallas, go.

Meh. Just OK

By conveygav |

The burgers here are very so-so. Nothing special. I got a dog the last time and it was good but still nothing to get to excited about.

Pretty good!

By Tracee P |

I liked the ambience of the place. The hot dog was pretty good but not the best I have ever had but definitely nowhere near the worst!

not angry, just average

By danman2327 |

A friend of mine invited me to this restaurant for dinner, and based on what I found online, I thought this would be great. I love the Deep Ellum area here in Dallas, TX. The place is a cross between a dive bar and a dark, cement floored bar you would find in Austin, TX somewhere on 6th street. Very heavy with atmosphere. I ordered the Angry Dog hot dog because I thought, when in Rome. It was absolutely average. The dog had no taste at all, the chili was luke warm at best and the cheese was cold, fresh out of the fridge. Nothing was hot except the fries which were good, but not great. You can get the same quality at Burger King. I was hungry when I arrived and hungry when I left. I stopped at a grocery store on my way back to my hotel. If you don't have great expectations, this might be the place for you, but for me, I'll keep looking. I think there was a reason that Guy Fieri didn't stop by here and feature it on his show. It's not worth it.

Delicious

By luckygirl8596 |

I recently visited Angry Dog with some friends almost as a fluke. It was an awesome fluke! My husband and I split the chicken fried chicken sandwich and it was amazing. The sandwich itself was a good size, the chicken was a perfect thickness to ensure crunch without soggy breading. It was juicy and very tasty. The fries were cooked perfectly and a good amount as well. The service was exceptional. Overall great experience!

Awesome Food & Great Atmosphere!

By makersmark64 |

Took my wife here for her Bday. She didn't want fancy and this place is not. If, though, you want a great burger, good beer, and a place to watch the game, this is it. Friendly staff & great service. We had burgers, which were cooked to perfection, and great sides. The fried pickles as an appetizer were awesome!

Excellent lunch at The Angry Dog

By Kevin H |

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the burgers and dogs we had for lunch. The service was efficient and the atmosphere was lively and fun. The french fries were served in small silver bucket - a nice touch.

Best Burger in Texas!!!

By DocSnarky |

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! Amazing hamburgers, great chili, and a good selection of local beers!! This is a “must go” for me, every time I’m in Dallas. If you’ve never been before, Deep Ellum is a really cool/fun place to walk around, and with Angry Dog, Pecan Lodge, and Pepe’s and Mito’s, there are also some amazing places to eat!!!!

Good Burgers

By Cassie P |

We parked across the street and walked right in to seating during the lunch hour. The food came out in a timely manner. Everything was cooked to perfection. Would definitely return.

Best burgers in Dallas

By Julia H |

Come here when we want a really good burger. Kind of crowded, parking lot sucks but great burgers & fries. Usually cook your burger just the way you like it (medium rare for me & my husband.)

amazing food

By Emily F |

we stayed in Downtown Dallas and ended up walking here pretty much every night, we looked the food, people, the music, the recommendations and of course my boyfriend loved the beer! Such an amazing place with good food would go back to Texas just to come here! You get so much food and it is really good value for money, so glad we got told to visit Deep Ellum!

Lunch Date

By Steven M |

I’ve always had a fetish for hot dogs so I had to try this place out while passing through the area. It has kind of an out of the way dive bar type atmosphere. I didn’t have time to try much, but I got my hot dog with chili, grilled onions, grilled jalapeños, pickles and pepper jack cheese. It was as good as I’ve ever had. The meat, the bun, and all the fixings were fresh and perfect for what I wanted. Good and messy! Fries were solid.... nothing great but good. My wife got the fried chicken sandwich. It was also as good as I’ve ever had once adding some mayo. Popeyes and Chick Fil A don’t hold a candle to this sandwich. The men’s bathroom is worth a visit. I had to buy a T Shirt as well. Will definitely be back!

Beer & a Chili Dog - Yum

By CraftBeers |

It's been awhile since I've been to Angry Dog. I was visiting the brewery and whiskey bar nearby when I saw their sign. I had to have an Angry Dog, which is a grilled Kosher beef hot dog sitting on an open bun smothered with lots of mustard, chili, onions, cheese and pickles. It's an absolute mess that requires a fork and knife, but it's sooo good. I had two of them with a glass of Oak Cliff's Black Lager. Besides having a great hot dog, I like that atmosphere here. It's not quite dive, but it's approaching it. I could hang here all day.

Nice bar

By LMar |

First time here. Sat at the bar, few beers and a grilled cheese (loved it!) made my night. Nice staff.

Europa Sports

By al944 |

Tried this burger and it was ok, and the frys where pretty tastie and fresh. The burger was big and good flavor, had it for take out.

OUTSTANDING Burgers filled with locals

By Formans |

Angry dog is located in the heart of Deep Ellum! This is a no frills bar and grill with GREAT food. The waiter was very friendly and had excellent beer recommendations. I highly recommend any of their burgers. My only regret is that I didn't buy a Angry Dog T shirt. Don't expect to have a fancy meal, but this is a enjoyable lunch spot!

Good food, fast service!

By Lyndria |

We ate dinner here on a Friday night. It took a while for us to be seated, as the hostess was busy doing other things, but once we were at our table, the server was fast and friendly. The food came out quickly and was delicious! My husband had the Angry Dog, which he said was spicy but tasty. He loved it! I had the Jennifer Salad, and it was very good. The pico came on the side for a reason. I dumped it on top of my salad and it was spicy but oh so delicious. Fun atmosphere and we hope to eat here again.

Just Average Burgers

By Lju3 |

Not great, but definitely not bad. One step above Whataburger at best. I wouldn't tell you to skip the place (it does have a fun atmosphere), but don't expect to get the best burger in Dallas, which they inexplicably claim.

Great Beer Selection, Wings and Burger

By megk742 |

Stumbled on this place by accident. Very casual atmosphere. Great bar with a fantastic beer selection and knowledgeable bartenders. Wings were great and the burgers and fries were very good too. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Dallas!

Good Burgers

By Yvonne D |

Frequently rated one of the better burger places in Dallas. It's also very much a bar, but Dallas has a no smoking ordinance so that's not a problem. It gets a pretty good crowd, but you rarely ever have to wait for a table. It's in the Deep Ellum area, so the parking meters are free at lunch time, but you do have to pay for parking in the evening.

Late night option

By devaughn1972 |

Searched for a late night option that would be both satisfying and fun. Angry dog despite the mixed reviews became the place of choice. The staff was pleasant and friendly, even at a time that was close to closing. We ordered chicken soup and chili with a grill cheese. The soup and chili both looked good but were less than room temperature. The waiter was friendly, apologized and took it back, replacing it with much better option. The environment was friendly, and the drinks strong enough to keep the night going. Overall the experience was just ok. Despite the chili and the soup being good, the first impression is a lasting one. Is it worth trying, yes - possibly just for the experience (a lot of old reviews on the wall stating they have the best burgers and chili), anything more and I would likely pick dennys first.

Still the Best Burger

By Ralph T |

We lived in Dallas back in the 90's and would go here on the weekends to get our Burger fix. In town for the weekend, we thought we'd see if the burgers were as good as we remembered. They were. Maybe better. Service was really good too. It's nice to see some things don't change.

The Food ROCKS, and so does the atmosphere

By harpertx |

So funny that a place with "dog" in the name has been heralded as one of the best burgers in Texas. Now, the hot dogs are really great as well, but the burgers are killer. Not only that, I had the chicken friend steak and it blew my mind! This little stretch of street in the Deep Ellum area is chock full of great eats, and Angry Dog is right at the top.

Second Visit - Just as Happy!

By TexasMal |

Visited Angry Dog again and we're just as happy. Again, we had a great burger and fries. The service was fast and professional. We were taken care of like we were in a 5-star restaurant. Thanks for the great lunch...Angry Dog made our day again!

Good Food. Exceptional Service.

By Erin P |

Lol I had a chilly dog. Wasn't like greatest meal of my life, but it was pretty damn close lol. Awesome chilly. More than enough. Price is right for burgers, hot dogs, & full stocked bar. Fast, friendly, cool guys. Keep your glass full & know how to sell their brand. And, its in 1 of the coolest neighborhood in DFW. Deep Ellum

Doing it for years

By Kbryson1976 |

I should have written this review 15 years ago because that's how long I've been eating at this wonderful establishment. Angry Dog is a staple for Dallas restaurants. The menu is diverse enough to cater to anyone craving good food. Being a bar setting don't be fooled, the food is spectacular !!! The staff is 100% on the spot everyrime I come in, which by the way is every other weekend. Overall, this place is awesome.

Everyone is Right. This Place is Great

By Texsox |

We were traveling through Dallas and asked our daughter, who just moved to Dallas, to meet us for lunch along our route. She selected Angry Dog. Awesome choice. The burgers were perfect, the fries excellent, the service was great, and the crowd was in a great pre hockey game mood. The large parking lot next door was convenient. Only one thing would have made it perfect, time to sample the incredible selection of draft beers. We shall be back, and soon.

Love this place

By kingofthehill81 |

I have visited Angry Dog on multiple occasions. It is always fantastic and well priced. It is very typical Deep Ellum and full of local charm. The building is long and narrow, but plenty of seating and never had to wait long. The Angry Dog itself is amazing. The chili, cheese, bun and wonderful frankfurter are all paired perfectly after a long night of drinking or getting a tattoo. I have even been in the area during the day with my family to visit and art festival and they all loved it. The prices are pretty fair for the area and the beer selection is wonderful and full of local favorites and seasonal varieties.

Great burger!

By dwill11 |

We shared a burger and fries and it was wonderful. The beer selection was fair but overpriced in my opinion. There are too many other places that have great beer and it doesn't cost $9 a pint.

Good food and friendly staff

By Josh H |

All the food here is good. I ate here frequently several years ago. When I came back, the staff still remembered me. This is a great location to become a "regular."

Awesome Service and Good Food

By Christine B |

I went with serval friends after a concert. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The food was very good. It was the perfect place for very late dinner and drinks after the show.

I Could've Had A V8!

By Aaron H |

After hearing about this location and reading some very impressive views, I must admit they did NOT live up to the hype for me It was late, I just left the Cowboys game and I was just hungry - this spot was close to my hotel so why not The waitstaff was quite accommodating but the food wasn't anything to write home to mama about AND it was fairly pricey (to me anyway) a burger & fries @$15 and NOT tasting any better than the one I had.....nahhhhhh, that doesn't match At any rate - maybe it was me. Maybe my expectations were too high. Maybe I'm just like my mother, she's never satisfied (shout out to Prince, RIH) Anyhow, I'm a very fair judge - Angry Dog just didn't do it for me - maybe next time

Let this place go out of business

By Sophia Z |

I will never step foot in this restaurant EVER again and you shouldnt either. A Dallas man and his wife offered to buy a hot meal to a homeless person on the street. They sat down at a table and the waiter and then the manager refused to serve them. If some kind family wants to pay for anothers mans meal (whom is in need) as a paying customer you have no business right to judge and neglect service from someone. People are a product of circumstance and the way Angry Dog has treated this homesless man will effect his doings tomorrow. It takes only 1 person to make an impact in someones life. Angry Dog is a discrimatory establishment and has no right to police the streets of downtown Dallas. If they have a problem with the streets of Dallas - move your establishment to the suburbs! This is Life... and we should all be kind and loving people to one another.

Cool dive-ish bar for the game

By Nate080411 |

We popped in here on a whim to catch a pint and watch the game, and it was worth it. The service was very friendly and the locals who were here welcomed us in. The place does serve food as well, but we didn’t try any on this stop. They had a larger selection of beers and drinks than I expected from the outside, so you will be pleasantly surprised.

A little on the expensive side

By Roger F |

Food was excellent beer was clod. The prices seemed a little high. Appetizers and two beers were $25. The place is empty on Tuesday night so don't go for the social scene.

Great food! Hidden gem!

By Shaneholt |

Found this place on lonely planet, was close by so thought we would give it a go. Seems a little rough around the edges which never hurts but once we got our food! It was all perfect! We had the burger and chicken sub, can't fault anything. Great service, great atmosphere and amazing food. I'll be back!
