Was always good but now even better

By Susan T |

Antica Posta has always been a favorite. Great food and even better service. The last time I went though the food seemed elevated and even tastier. The menu had been updated, which was timely, and the choices were great. It has gone from consistent and comfortable to excellent.

Met expectations but not perfect

By travelfourless |

Recently had a nice meal at Antica Posta, after a friend recommended it as being one of the best Italian restaurants in Atlanta. Got off to a slightly rough start with unimpressive bread rolls and bread sticks prior to the meal. The bread was very average tasting. Having been to Italy and read that the owners are from Italy, I expected more from the bread. We shared various dishes including pastas, seafood, salads... The signature "Marco" salad was tasty but a little spicy. I was also hoping to find roasted vegetables on the menu, but they were not offered. I won't go into every dish we had, but I will comment on two. First, the positive. The oven roasted filet of mero sea bass was the best tasting piece of fish I have had in the last ten years. It was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. The pasta, on the other hand, was overly sauced and drenched in too much oil, as others have stated. This made for a mushy consistency that tasted ok, but was far from stellar. I read one earlier review where they asked for less oil, but reportedly were still given the pasta with too much. Service was excellent so there were no complaints in that department. The overall experience was mixed, yet above average, thus the four star review. Would we return again? I think we would, but would like to see a series of positive reviews that indicate that the chef and owner has considered the feedback and made some improvements.

Great dinner

By Expattraveler100 |

This is authentic Tuscan Italian cuisine - the food and wines are great, full of flavor. Extra virgin olive oil, crusty bread, great pasta with wild mushrooms - what's not to love - all right here in buckhead!

Awesome Dinner as Always

By JEwing4 |

My wife and I dined here to celebrate her birthday, my birthday and our anniversary with some close friends. It is located in a quaint little house in Buckhead, of which there are not too many left unfortunately. The interior is very well appointed and comfortable, in a cozy and quiet sort of way like you can find in Florence or Pisa. We were all delighted as we always are when we eat here. I enjoyed a special, pasta with Tuscan meat sauce, which was perfectly done, both pasta and sauce. Also had the Insalata Caprese as I always do - I love how they chop the lettuce and the large portion. The gelato was also par excellence. We always get a bottle of Il Borro Super Tuscan red wine, which we love very much. We always love it when we eat here.

No correlation to Italy

By Rick C |

The staff were very good, and very attentive. This was our first foray out after our vaccines so we were very excited. As Italians from Liguria known for it's kitchen we were excited to be able to once again eat Italian food. What a let down The food had absolutely no correlation to anything Italian. The chef it appears had no idea what a true ragu sauce was, nor how to cook it. My friends also suggested we taste each other's dinners. Wish I hadn't. I will not be going back. Sad as the location is great.

Food that is Heavenly

By Cmp1130 |

We were celebrating a birthday last night and started with 2 bottles of Il Borro Blended Wine. We then had Grilled Octopus, meatballs, bruschetta for appetizers and they were great. Then we order our entrees, the chicken was more than a half with those great roasted potatoes, the filet mignon with black truffles were WOW. I can say every plated in the party of 5 was cleaned and we had 2 more bottles of wine. The desserts were also great never thought I could eat so much food but we all did. Highly recommend.

Another excellent meal at Antico Posta

By SNG55 |

My wife and I live in Buckhead and frequent this restaurant often. Marco Bettis the owner I'd from outside a Florence where his family owned a restaurant. The food is always spectacular and authentic Tuscan. Excellent wine list and the service spot on. We went last night and had my all time favorite waiter, Mercury. The guy has been there since we've been coming and knows how to take care of customers. There are always a few new items on the menu and some seasonal items like white or back truffles. For an excellent meal that won't break the bank and to eat with locals, this is the place.

Special Occasion Tuscan restaurant in Buckhead

By Jim W. |

We had never been here before, though it has apparently been in this location for 20+ years. I'd seen it driving by. The descriptions online looked appropriate for a special occasion venue, so I made a reservation a month or so in advance. We arrived by around 6 p.m. on a Saturday. They are located on E. Paces Ferry Road about a block west of Piedmont. There is a narrow driveway to the left of the building as you face it and that's where you drop off your car for valet parking ($5 fee + tip). There seemed to be only one way in/out, so I'm not sure what happens if you try to enter when someone is leaving... We didn't encounter that, though. The building appears to be a converted house, but the interior is open and divided into a main dining room and a bar area. We were seated immediately. There was only one other table occupied at the time, though the place mostly filled up while we were there over the next hour. The menu has a lot of options, with the specialty being Tuscan dishes. I opted for spinach ravioli with meat sauce ($29; portion size was moderate - no leftovers). The lesser-tier wine was $16 per glass, which seemed high (and the pour seemed a bit light also). My wife got a noodle dish with wild boar sauce, which she really liked. We split a dessert, though then we found out that we also received a complementary mini-dessert since it was our anniversary. We enjoyed our meal here. Prices were probably in-line with a special occasion venue in Buckhead (and you could certainly spend more at other places within a few blocks).

Poor Italian food and worse service

By Memike329 |

We went for a family event with 10 people, including 4 teen agers. We waited 45 minutes for appetizers, almost 2 hours for entrees, the orders were screwed up, and the food was bad. In addition I talked to the owner of the restaurant and he was arrogant. What more can I say - it was a horrible dining experience.

Bravo! Best Italian Cuisine

By Philip F |

Took one of my friends here from out of town. I have always loved Antica Posta and have been there a few times over the years. It hasn't changed, the service was impeccable, the food was amazing and the ambience is pure charm. Our waiter allowed us space as we were talking and catching up. We never felt rushed. The entire meal, from appetizers to main course to dessert and coffee, was excellent. This is true Italian food, like my grandmother made and like I strive for when cooking at home. A must visit when you are in town. Well done and thank you for making us feel so welcome.

Antica Posta serves Northern Italian food at its best. While pasta dishes are good, the dishes featuring meat are sublime! Truly mouth watering dishes unlike any you've ever tasted. My husband swears that the veal chop is better than the priciest aged steaks. Oh, the steaks here are excellent but the roasted fish is outstanding. The lamb chops are seasoned simply: rosemary, olive oil, salt- Amazing! And when truffles are in season, don't miss out on a splurge on risotto with shaved white truffles!

Lovely if rushed

By HoneymoonJen |

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. The octopus appetizer lives up to billing - try it - grilled and tasty, not chewy at all. The Osso Bucco was outstanding. My wife's dish was solid but not 5 stars. A young waitstaff - our primary waiter had little knowledge of the menu and no knowledge of the wine; she had what appeared to be a "back-up" Italian waiter who did much of the work but did not add to the experience. A nice place with quality food - very enjoyable and close in Buckhead but perhaps not a must-do spot. The owner/manager presides with supreme presence and a well-starched collar at the front, but does not dictate overall quality.

Came for the wine, stayed for the food

Love the atmosphere as well as the food and wine. Really enjoy sitting at the bar and drinking wine and eating some authentic Italian food.

Fantastic Italian Food!

Great authentic Italian food with attentive friendly service and quaint atmosphere! We also enjoyed homemade delicious Dessert! We definitely will go back to enjoy another meal when visiting Atlanta! Highly Recommend!

Always excellent dining at Antica Posta

By BuckheadTraveler |

We have been going to Antica Posta for excellent meals since well before we hosted our son's wedding rehersal dinner there in 2007. In more recent years we have celebrated birthdays and family gatherings, and we have always had excellent meals, wine, and service. For every occassion, large and small, the restaurant has been careful to meet and exceed our requests. Marco even opened early for a surprise birthday lunch to accomodate our out of town guests. Atlanta has many very good restaurants, and we enjoy visiting new arrivals and trying different food styles. However, Antica Posta is a consistently excellent choice that we will return to for many future occasions.

Fantastic!

By ME M |

Great food and very attentive service! Great wine list too and possibly the best grilled ribeye steak ever! Also had the fish special that night and it was phenomenal! Ambience is not so great in the back room, feels a bit crowded, and like you're eating in someone's living room. Food more than makes up for it though. Try to eat in the front room where the bar is located.

pay attention to negative reviews

By ecl3 |

Went there for my 60th birthday, and all of were disappointed, my granddaughter's chicken was compared to Kroger's, now that's bad. Another pricey restaurant with substandard food.

An exciting and delicious place!

By MS 413 |

Had a delightful dinner for my companion's birthday and to enjoy the company of her family. Staff was ready and willing as soon as we stepped foot in th edoor. They made us feel at home and assisted us to wait for our guests. Their wine list is lengthy, and can be daunting, DO NOT hesitate to ask for help, they are knowledgeable and firendly and do not pressure or upsell. The dining was in a class by itself. I believe I had the absolutely best prepared Lamb of my entire life, and my partner said her pasta dish was out of this world. I have noticed that when dining, we are often served huge plates that are either wasted or go home. The portions here we perfet, I felt filled but not stuffed and even ordered a dessert, something I have not done for ages. The staff was courteous and attentive without being overly present. I highly recommend for an evening of quality dining.

Wionderful restaurant

By Lasting Impression |

What a beautiful restaurant, The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and they are certainly not caught up in the competition to be the hippest spot, instead choosing to concentrate on the food and great service. The octopus is so tender; it will set your standards for this dish forever. The pasta I had was flavorful and more like the sort of dish served in a small Italian town. My desert was wonderful, the wine selection was wonderful, and the cocktails were generous and served by friendly bar staff. I should not fail to mention Jody, the beautiful and charming hostess. She made a strong and enduring impression upon entering and leaving the restaurant. It was great to exchange a few pleasant words on my way out.

Tast of Tuscany in Atlanta

By Gregory S |

The best meals in Tuscany are made from the best local ingredients, prepared simply, and paired with regional wine. Antica Posta follows this philosophy perfectly. Marco Betti and his brother, Chef Alessandro, create meals like the dinners served in their family restaurant in Florence, Italy. If you are not familiar with authentic Tuscan fare, don’t expect an American interpretation of Italian food with pasta inundated in tomato sauce. Instead, you will marvel at the flavors of seafood, veal, and chicken deftly seasoned with herbs, olive oil, and truffles or porcini mushrooms when available. The pasta dishes are well balanced and my personal favorite is farfalle with lobster. The wine list can satisfy every palate and match every course. Savor the food and the wine and you will sample tastes of Tuscany.

Great food, good service, pretty room

By Kathryn B |

It’s the food! Such great quality, a variety of options and authentic Italian dishes. My sister and I had the foie gras appetizer; it was so delicious. My husband and brother-in-law were very happy with the burrata served with ice cold tomatoes and a sweet balsamic glaze. All of us chose a different primi piatti but no secondi because the servings are very generous and very rich. We finished with a lemoncello and espresso. Perfect!!

Outstanding!!

By Juliede |

This was our first time here and we could not have been more impressed. The waitstaff is very friendly and attentive. I was able to order GF pasta with my meal. They came and poured olive oil on our small plates and then brought warm bread. Since I am GF, I couldn't eat the bread. By chance, I asked if they had GF bread and she said let me check. She went into the kitchen and a few minutes later brought me a small loaf of warm GF bread. I was SO happy! The food is so fresh and incredibly delicious! We had the risotto with shrimp, mussels and scallops as an appetizer. OMG! We could have licked the plate clean. It was amazing! Our entrees were just as great! We were celebrating our birthdays and they surprised up with a dessert sampler. The wine was fabulous too. For the price, it was SO worth it! We highly recommend Antica Posta!

Authentic pizza

By Teresa V |

Loved the family style tables. The pizza was delicious. Only negative comment, parking is difficult.

Great for gluten-free, good food.

By Jean H |

Pros: gluten free and vegan/vegetarian marked and lots of choices. Valet parking. Excellent cocktails, good, well-priced wine list. Moderate prices. Generally good food. Cons: veal chop was fatty but not tender and meaty. Not a problem with the bar in the room but two big-screen TVs on were distracting and did not make it feel like a nice night out. Star of the night: the Florentine nonna cake.

Northern Italian in Atlanta

By Bea P |

I moved to Atlanta several years ago and wanted a fine Northern Italian restaurant, after several meals at Antica Posta, this easily became my favorite. Great Tuscan cuisine.

Great Italian in Atlanta

By June C |

Attended a food and wine pairing event. The food was outstanding. I have eaten here many times and it is always wonderful.

Worth it

By VLRees |

Our Atlanta friends love this restaurant and now so do we. The four of us have visited Italy together and Antica Posta is very authentic Tuscan fare. Prices are a bit higher than we are used to but worth every dollar. There waa nothing we would. not recommend but veal is especially well prepared. A grilled veal chop and the osso bucco were standouts.

Authentic Tuscany in Atlanta

By Carlotta15 |

I have always enjoyed dining at Antica Posta, for a romantic evening out or with friends, but what I have enjoyed the most is to bring my Florentine family to dine on authentic Tuscan food! The food is delicious, especially the grilled octopus, calling it the "world's greatest" is not an exaggeration. If you like octopus this dish alone is worth coming to the restaurant for. If you have not tried octupus, this is the place to have it! Its tender and a bit smokey from the grill, and sliced thin so it is not chewy at all. The sauteed shrimp is a great way to start off a meal too. Antica Posta's pastas and risotto are the real deal. Delicious comfort food that is elevated by the talented Betti brothers. For the main course my favorite hands down is the lamb chops, but the roast chicken is rich, juicy and nothing short of fantastic. The wine list is superb, even by the glass and Marco the owner is always putting on special events that are a great way to try new wines and meet new people. Service is professional and accommodating. Last time we went for dinner, they graciously added two last minute guests to our group after we were seated.

very good food... and not very noisy.

By goinforit |

It doesn't seem like good food, good service and a reasonable decibel is setting too high a bar, but I have a hard time finding places that meet all three. Antica Posta is well above in terms of food. I can say they have excellent salads, sides, pasta and risotto. My friends say the meat and fish are also good.

Never again

By Soniag884 |

There is so much that I have to say about this restaurant but the most important thing is that they have no knowledge of customer service. We waited one and a half hour from the appetizer and finally decided to leave since the waiter resolution when we told him that 3 tables that came in later than us have being serve and we haven't his apology was I'm more upset than you. We're never offer to stay ,and requested to pay for our drinks after the waiter said that we owe nothing. We asked to speak with the manager and never saw him. Overall if you want to be abuse you come to this place. I

Quaint and Charming

By Michael M |

Nice place, small and intimate. Food is good with many pasta options, seafood, and a few meat options (I only wish there was more chicken options). There was a full wine list with most available only by the bottle but a few options by the glass as well. While intimate, the atmosphere was vibrant. Many servers assisted our server whenever a glass was empty or to clear plates. The owner was very nice and he seemed to take pride in his restaurant. Great place to gather for a date, or a group. Two separate rooms (if not more) existed, one with bar and TV in addition to tables, and then one traditional dining room.

Enjoyable Anniversary Dinner

By Raymond T |

Each item on every plate offered those subtle extra layers of flavor that separate a fine dining experience from the rest. We saw others recommended the grilled octopus appetizer and it didn't disappoint. The texture was perfect and the flavorings were unlike anything I ever had. It was one of the highlights. Our salad also kept the layered flavor theme with a great selection of fresh spring greens, a variety of olives, and a mustard seed vinagarette dressing. My veal chop was huge and expertly cooked. It was just lightly seasoned to let the natural mild flavor of the meat come through. My wife's filet with truffle oil dip was also prepared with a light hand and cooked perfectly. The Capris Island chocolate cake was another highlight. It offered great chocolate flavor without being overly rich or sweet, and the signature light almond flavor to further even it out. Even though we were there in prom season, it was quiet and comfortable. The servers were friendly and attentive without being obsequious. My wife asked if the restaurant had once been an old residence and our server invited us on a full tour complete with stops in the kitchen and downstairs to the wine room by the private party dining area. The owner was polite. He's authentic Italian and you can see his pride in the food he serves and his restaurant.

Another great dining experience

By Traveler T |

It has been several years since the last time we dined at Antica Posta. We were staying nearby at The Thompson so we made reservations and are glad we did. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The wine selections were great (Brunello and Rose). The service was attentive! My wife ordered the Ravioli Rau and I ordered the Tuscan Roasted Chicken. While both were great, the clear winner was my Tuscan Roasted Chicken...Excellent!

So, so

By Wolfgang S |

I have the admit that the expectations four our dinner were high. Unfortunately, I might have expected too much for an upscale restaurant. Sitting on our table of 6 and looking around , everything felt tight. The service was adequate and we never missed anything on the table. However, it seemed the waiters did not want to be there. I had the gnocchi and must admit that these did not taste "traditionally" boiled rather than a little fried as they were crunchy on the outside. Definitely not what I had in mind when I ordered it. In comparison, my wife's risotto tasted great. All in all, for the price we paid, I expected more. Not a restaurant I would try again soon. Maybe if the service picks up and I read good reviews.

Very good food and wine

By bigaps |

We have been coming here for almost 10 years, and the food is consistently good. They have a focused menu with usually a truffle dish or two. The wine list is terrific - one of the very few places that has Amarone, Barolo, and Brunello by the glass. Very good service and a pleasant ambiance.

Great spot for a dinner out on the town

By Jason S |

Best swordfish I've ever had. Owner is a really nice guy and this place is run like a high end family restaurant. Fresh ingredients and great service

Outstanding in Every Way!

By damg |

This was our first visit to this Buckhead Italian restaurant. The service was outstanding and the setting is perfect. But, the best part of this experience was the food. Creative pasta dishes, an amazing veal chop, enormous salads, and a careful chosen wine list made this our finest meal in Atlanta to date. The price was high ($145 without tip or tip), but we ordered an expensive bottle of wine. This is the place for a special occasion or just to treat yourself to a wonderful dinner. I hope these comments encourage you to make a reservation.

Good friends, good food and excellent service

By Joe L |

Came here for a business dinner with a party of four colleagues and wanted to be seated where we could spread out, talk privately and have some fun. We were told to pick whatever table we wanted as the restaurant was slow at 630pm. We enjoyed our four hour stay at Antica Posta and the server was very helpful, understanding and fun to work with. The food was very good and I especially enjoyed the penne with spicy tomato sauce and shrimp. The appetizers were all good as well. Service was excellent and I look forward to coming back soon.

Outstanding

We had one of the best dining experiences in recent memory this past weekend at Antica Posta. Our server, Corey, had such passion for their menu we wanted to order everything. The wait staff was absolutely attentive and the food was terrific.

Perfect Experience!

I am new to Atlanta and was excited to see a sister restaurant to one of my favorites in North Miami Beach. Fabulous food, warm and friendly service and a great wine list. Will return often!

Mediocre food

By Lee L |

Dined there tonight because we heard they have fresh black truffles. Appetizers were very good. The octopus was tender and spinach ravioli with meat sauce was very tasty. Those were the highlights of the meal. The beef with black truffles were ok, but the truffles were lack of aromas or flavor. The veal chop was recommended as the owner's favorite was bland and overcooked. I had to send it back. Went with the crabmeat farfalle recommended by the waitress. It was ok, a bit too salty but I didn't wanna make a fuss. The dessert, both the chocolate mousse and tiramisu were flops. Tiramisu too sweet and lack of flavor. All in all, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Waitress, Victoria was the best thing tonight.

Some Good Food, Some Not So Good

By Charlene Esaw Travels |

I believe everyone in the group overall had a good meal, which is why I gave it an average rating. My meal, unfortunately was not very good. I ordered the bow-tie lobster pasta. When the dish was delivered, the meat looked like shrimp and because I'm allergic to shrimp, I asked the server what was in the dish and he said, lobster, shrimp and scallops. I asked the waitress to confirm and she said that the dish only had lobster. The lobster were small and the dish did not have any flavor. Even my husband who eats off of my plate said, "That's not very good." He said that his sea bass was excellent. The portions are not very large, so my husband was hungry and ate as soon as we go back to the house. The restaurant is a little dark for me for a family meal, but might be romantic to others.

Truly a taste of Tuscany!

By Philip F |

From the outside this unassuming little house resembles some Tuscan farm house turned restaurant set in the middle of Buckhead. Upon entering you are immediately greeted by the scents and sounds that whisk you away to a far away place. The vibe is Tuscany, and the greeters, wait staff and even the oner are there with a welcoming smile. You get the sense that this will be a magical evening of food. And so it was. We were seated in the center of the first floor dining room, a charming room that too me back to a little restaurant I had visited in the Tuscan countryside. From there it only got better. We ordered octopus which was excellent, we drank wine and chatted while not being disturbed by our waitstaff who were there to assist but not overbearing or rushing. Our main courses included variations of gnocchi and Farfale with lobster, all expertly prepared and plentiful. For dessert, cannoli, tiramisu, and chocolate cake. Again, perfectly prepared. As we looked around the vibe of the room had slowly increased and people around us ate, drank and laughed. For more than a moment I felt like we were back n Tuscany, eating in the leisurely Italian style that is the custom there. We will return here, many times to sample more of the extensive menu, Antica Posta has won our hearts!

Fantastic Tuscany food, attentive service

By Kaye S |

Our business party of five were all hungry but very focused on a conversation. Our waiter deftly made recommendations, brought drinks and fresh bread, but was unobtrusive. The Ferragamo wine (yes, the shoe Ferragamo family) was a great choice. Both salads, kale and caprese were tasty. The sea bass was nothing short of outstanding. The fresh vegetable of the night was broccoli, which I ate because it's good for you, but I could never fairly review broccoli. I had several bites of a co-worker's shrimp penne dish. It was quite spicy, but with just the right kick. Our table ordered almond gelato, house-made tiramisu and a brownie with ice cream dish whose Italian name I cannot recall. While I had a cappuccino instead, every dessert was devoured so I must assume a thumbs up for all three desserts. Great ambiance and service, food so good we talked of it later, made for a terrific evening out.

LOVE the EVOO

By Lori G |

Superb meal. From the olive oil they put out with the bread to the cheeses and veggies...each ingredient is masterfully utilized. You can buy their private label olive oil. Great souvenir. Highly recommend the pasta with lobster!

Chef's Table at Antica Posta Not to be Missed!

By Zinfandelover |

A dear friend invited us to join her to celebrate a special birthday at Antica Posta, and special it was! We sat at the chef's table, with a prix fixe menu of five courses and four wines for a very reasonable price given the portion size and wines. The food was delicious and plentiful. My favorite course was the pasta with sea bass and black truffle oil - it sounds frou frou, but it was very hearty! We also enjoyed shrimp (appetizer) and the courses of salmon, pork, and chicken. The wines, all Italian, were well chosen and paired nicely with the accompanying food. The servers were attentive and quick to refill my glass . . . too quick maybe, by the feel of my head this morning! I would definitely return. And yes, we actually walked through the kitchen to a back room where a table was set up in what was probably once a storage area.

Special meal in the chef’s kitchen

By Daltonboy1986 |

Let me state up front I did not set this meal up so I confess I do not have all the details but I will let you know I had a great time in the chef’s kitchen. I was in a group of 14 which is always hard to serve the restaurant set us up at a table off the kitchen. It was loud back there with everyone working but that is what made it great because we could be loud as we were enjoy good friends and good wine. Our service was out of this world. Very well train staff. I had my waiter pick my meal. He chose the Sea Bass: home run. No one at our table complained about their meal. I am sure you could not go wrong with anything on the menu. We had a combination of the desserts which gave a good taste of everything - I found each dessert to be fresh and light. The pictures are the aftermath of a fun evening.

Great Atlanta Find

By mtroner |

Lovely Italian restaurant in Buckhead. Everyone enjoyed their dishes including a risotto, the roast chicken, sea bass and veal chop. Well prepared, nicely seasoned, fresh and lovingly served. A nice Pinot Grigio for a reasonable $44 and we had a lovely dinner with old friends. Check about the corkage fee, it seemed resonable and we'll be back here the next time we are in the neighborhood.

My Favorite Italian Restaurant

Antica Posta is the place in Atlanta for authentic Italian fine dining. It is perfect for a largish group as well as a table for two.

Great place!

By Liza O |

My husband and I visited Antica Posta with some friends and it was such a great evening. Not only was the food excellent but the service was excellent as well. The restaurant is charming and the atmosphere is lively but not loud so you can have a conversation. Would definitely recommend the grilled octopus - it was the best I've ever had. We will be going back soon!

Tuscany Comes to Atlanta

By James W |

We've dined at Antica Posta several times, usually for special occasions; this time we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. They must have taken note of the service issues cited in recent reviews, because both our service and food were excellent. The atmosphere is cozy and, while "white tablecloth", not overbearing. The tables in the part of the room where we sat were close enough together that we had a nice conversation with the folks sitting next to us; they they recommended the bruschetta which indeed was very good. Our server was attentive but didn't rush us. the drinks were good, the food was nicely done and arrived promptly. We'll look forward to our next visit!

Service disaster .... balancing out the (mostly) great food

By SeriousAboutExcellencw |

Every restaurant has service disasters from time to time. Well, we had one. A big one. I am a big fan of Antica Posta but, wow, did they mess up tonight! In a good Italian restaurant, you order a first and a second, right? And the first is pasta, and the second is the meat or fish, right? Well, that's what my wife and I did. Standard! We ordered the Gemmelli Pasta, for the 1st, and a Veal Chop and the Tuscan Chicken for the second. So what happened? The server put the order in to come out all at once - over an hour after we sat down! You know, I would even forgive that, except the server left us sitting there with empty wine glasses for over an hour- never checked on us! I deduce that Antica Posta has a huge, erratic service problem. Good thing their food is great! And - to add insult to injury - I strongly advise them to stop having their servers greet customers with "Hi, my name is x, and my job here tonight is to make sure you are totally cared for...". Could not have been less true - tonight. To the owner's credit, he came out and apologized - but even so ..... Antica Posta needs to clean up their act!

Pricey but great!

By TRAVELARBITER14 |

I love this place. NOT a chain!. Great service and wonderful Italian food. Small rooms a bit loud but fun. Nice wine list and great cocktails. A bit pricey but worth it. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was cozy. Love to have my expense account dinners here.

Delightful Evening!

By LudwellMom |

A group of 12 colleagues met here for a retirement dinner. It was a terrific evening. Service, food, and wine were all great. The sea bass was exceptional. The wines that were recommended by our server were excellent choices within our budget. I stay nearby when in Atlanta and will definitely return.

Awesome dinner experience

Sat at the bar and enjoyed a very delicious roasted chicken dinner with the best salad I've had in the past. Food presentation had a nice touch. Have to make time to come more often.

Excellent on a weeknight

By Adam S |

Food... I had chicken. Have never tasted it like that before. Very delicious. Portion sizes were substantial! Wine... delicate and amazing. I had an Italian red, Chianti Classico. Service... excellent. It helps when you are friendly. They respond in kind. It also helps when the restaurant is empty. Valet's said it is quite full on the later weekdays and weekend. Ambiance... wish there were more outdoor options. I am visiting Atlanta from Minnesota. I am also traveling to Italy in the next couple weeks. This restaurant stood up well to my discerning palette.

Great place for a anniversary diner

Had a wonderful dinner and one of the best pasta dishes I have ever enjoyed--Farfalle pasta with crab meat. Was prepared perfectly and was loaded with crab meat. Service was excellent and atmosphere was great. I will be back for sure.

Better than ever?

By sfinestone |

Marco Betti has always done a great job running Antica Posta, but we wondered how it would be now that he is spending most of his time with a new restaurant in Miami. No problem. Younger brother Alessandro Betti has always been competently in the kitchen, and now appears to be doing it all, and as well as ever. We had a delightful evening there last Saturday and look forward to our return.

I love the Sunday Night Pasta Party!

By JBT2 |

I love the food here. The Osso Bucco has to be the best in town, and the grilled octopus, OMG! But, I'm telling you that if Sunday night rolls around, and you don't have plans and don't want to cook, you have to try the Pasta Party here. Their classic pastas are all half price. Last Sunday we split a Marco salad and then each ordered a pasta and it was about $20 per person with taxes and tip. And the food is fabulous. I had a pasta with truffle cream sauce, YUMMY!

Might be the best restaurant in Atlanta

By Emily R |

Where to start!? If you love Italian food, you will love this place - it's more of a ristorante (more special occasion) than a trattoria (casual) but well worth every penny. First, you MUST get the grilled octopus starter - even if you think you don't like octopus you will love this - perfectly seasoned and amazing. The classic ossobuco is perfection. Good wine list. The beef ravioli, bowtie crab pasta, filet topped with shaved black truffle and nougat dessert are no fails. It's classic, upscale Italian, full of flavor, cooked to a "T". I can't believe I lived in Atlanta for 5 years before even hearing about this place! It instantly became a top 5 Atlanta restaurant for me and everyone else I know who has been there. Enjoy!

Go for the Octopus-Return for the Chicken

By StanClement |

This is a quaint, effectent and fabulous restaurant in the Northern/Buckhead part of Atlanta. We paired our meal with Italian wines, sampled a variety of items as appetizers, and then dined our hearts out with fish, veal, chicken and shrimp entrees. This place is great, with generous portions, great service and a lovely setting. We were pleasantly surprised at the prices, too. We've paid more and frequently gotten less. This is a great stop for fine dining in the greater Atlanta area.

Not impressed

By CobaltConnection |

I don't enjoy giving subpar reviews, but our experience was less than optimal. Used Open Table for reservations. Restaurant was dark and lacking vibrancy. Servers forget our requests. Restaurant had no garlic of any type. None. Shrimp diavola appetizer had pasta, but very little sauce. The menu states that extra sauce is poured for dipping. The chef didn't get the memo. There are much better experiences in Buckhead and Midtown.

Unsurpassed

By Lisaann321 |

Last night a friend and I dined at Antica Posta. I have known the owner for several years now and traveled with him and a few others to Tuscany in 2011 on a wine tour. Marco knows wine. Marco knows food. It was a wonderful culinary experience as always. My friend had veal...melt in your mouth delicious...I had the bass with veggies, including a side of asparagus and Rosemary roasted potatoes. Unsurpassable. There is an extensive wine list as well. It was an excellent value, not because of the price...it is pricey, but because for the price it is outstanding when compared to other restaurants in same price range that I have visiteted.

Looking for Italian foods? Here is where you have to go!

By Eli2361 |

I have been in this restaurants many many times and I always enjoy their foods. What I like very much is their grilled tuna..it is cooked on the grill, very thin and served with an olive cream on the side...yummy! Everything else is delicious too.... Go for it if you are Italian and are in town and...want to make sure you eat really really Italian food....

Gem in Buckhead

By Gungi07 |

We are new to Atlanta (from CT) My friend recommended this place to me and it was amazing! For apps we had the Polpo and the Scallops with truffle. Dinners were: Gnocchi Cheese Ravioli Ziti with spicy sauce and Shrimp (forgot name, lol) Roasted Chicken Everything was so good. Highly recommend. 5 STARS!

Very good chef

By Maurizio c |

I had the best grilled octopus since Italy. Ravioli alla toscane were excellent and the dessert caprese cake with almond gelato was close to perfection. Great chef. I try one bite of my guest' s risotto with seafood. The shrimps and the seafood was very fresh and tasted like the mediterranean sea. Very good. We could very hard understand the metrodi who was trying to tell what to eat to everyone on my table. However he was nice and the waiter who served our table was superb, present and proper. Again i was impress by the very good meal what a Chef.

Nice place but next time no young kids

Food was really great! My two boys under 8 have it a try but just ate bread. The waitress Addy was very helpful. Will be back again make sure to sit in her area.

The owner curtly greeted us and told us at which table to sit (didn't take us) and was insulting when I asked him to recommend an inexpensive dry Italian white wine. Sanford H. Schwartz, M.D.

outstanding food and service.

By Richard S |

Along with several friends and fellow wine enthusiasts, I had dinner last night at Marco Betti's outstanding Italian restaurant. I have spent a fair amount of time visiting all parts of Italy, and I do not believe I have had a better experience. From the hors d'oeuvres through the fish, pasta, meat and dessert courses, I cannot think of a more satisfying meal. The chicken with truffles was superb, and the lamb chops were prepared perfectly. Marco was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable host; I will be back, and soon!

Great spot for groups!

By heatherac |

Good for groups of any kind. The atmosphere was charming and it was easy to hear the conversation. There were at least three or four large groups there, mine included, and they managed everyone splendidly.

Pricey….and why?

By YoungOpa |

Three of us dined outdoors on the noisy street. Service was ok , and the bread was great… The food, meh. What a disappointment dining out after the long Covid shut in. I think I was happier eating at home.

Wonderful Venue

By Cici C |

Took my son and a friend of his out on a cold and icy night and we had the restaurant to ourselves for about an hour. The food was presented beautifully and tasted so authentic and fresh. One of the weekly specials was a grilled octopus and it was prepared perfectly and tasted divine. Our main courses were also delicious; a crab and bow tie pasta in a white wine and shallot sauce (very light and flavorful), a spaghetti with meat ragu, and the grilled swordfish with lentils. For dessert we shared Nonna's torta which so light and tasty. The wine menu is extensive. Many by the bottle choices and a fair amount of by the glass options. I drank a montepulciano (spelling?) selection which did not disappoint. I plan on returning for more.

Exrtremely disappointing food and poor value

By PickyPassenger |

Have always wanted to try this restaurant, as we live in the neighborhood and it's been there for years. Thought it would have to be exceptional to exist for so long. WRONG! For starters, the room we ate in in was just like the basement wreck room in my parent's home in Yonkers, NY growing up in the 60s. Kind of depressing. Actually, if I had to do it over again, I would choose to dine in the room that contains the bar. Much nicer. Service was fine, although it was strange having so many server and support staff standing around staring at us. The rolls were totally tasteless and needed salt in the dough - I don't care how "authentic" they claim the rolls are. The eggplant parm was much too gooey/sloppy and contained far too many hard seeds. The greens salad was chopped and seemed to have been made hours before it was served. Much too limp and old tasting. All in all, an expensive and mediocre meal. Keep your money and go to one of the Atlanta-area Carrabba's, where the food is much, much better and the prices much more reasonable. Or go to Pricci, nearby on Pharr Road, for an Italian fine dining experience of exceptionally prepared food and perfect service and ambiance, albeit with higher prices. Both in both cases, much better dining values than at this restaurant.

Disapointing

By Dealmaker |

May be this restaurant has started to become very complacent as the meal we just had was nothing special and disappointing. The veal chop with mushrooms was overcooked and had no taste. The special chicken dish of the evening was dry. The servers hovered over the table. The back dining room was dar and depressing. We have had better meals at other Italian restaurants in Atlanta for the same price or less.

GREAT EXPERIENCE!

By ANGELA S |

This was our first visit to this fine restaurant. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed! The staff was amazing and the food was excellent! I asked the waitress for a recommendation for an entree. She suggested the pasta with truffles and chicken. Her suggestion was great. We ordered panda cotta for dessert and it was equally delicious as our main course. We ran into a slight snag with a small manner but it was quickly and graciously handled by Marco, the owner. Would certainly go back. Great food and great attitude of all the staff we met!!!

What a Treat

By Mangopop3838 |

Marco Batti, owner and chef is very proud of his restaurant and rightly so. The food is mostly Tuscan style, well prepared with fresh ingredients. The wine list is exceptional and the service very good. Marco can be seen walking around making sure his guests are happy and getting the service they expect. When in Buckhead, don't miss out on this gem. Can't say enough about the quality and treatment.

Very good food

By JasKalBrn |

We made reservations at this restaurant on the recommendation of a co-worker who always goes here when she's in Atlanta. It was a bit of a drive from Northlake (where we were staying) to Buckhead (where we wanted to stay). The restaurant has soaring ceilings and is nicely decorated with white tablecloths. The service is good and the servers were very patient. We were a large, demanding party. They accomodated our request for separate checks (very nice!) and our request to return the bottle of wine for another (the first one had a funny taste). The place is a bit formal and has free valet parking (great for when it starts to rain very hard which it did when we were there). We were there on a Tuesday night and it wasn't very crowded at all. The "best chicken" (their description on the menu) was good. I had the special octopus appetizer (also labeled "the best") was also good, not chewy at all, very tender. The portion sizes for some of the dishes were small according to my co-workers, but the chicken was a huge portion. I had the pasta with proscuitto and cream sauce. The pasta was good and what looked like a small portion (I ordered the entree size, not the appetizer) turned out to be rather large, as the pasta was dense. I ate the leftovers the next day. We all thought the food was good, but maybe a bit pricey, and not the really excellent food my co-worker said it was. Maybe our expectations were too high. Everyone did rave about the house-made vanilla gelato which they said was amazing. I had the panna cotta which was very good.

Wonderful

By Jim M |

They servce the best octopus I have ever eaten. I had a side of rosemary potatos and they also were wonderful. I will be back.

Great meal and cozy atmosphere

By SakuraCat |

This restaurant has real Italian food and that was the main reason I loved it. The food was amazing and the service there is always good. The environment is also beautiful and cozy. I recommend the semifreddo for desert.

A wonderful Italian experience right here in Atlanta!

My husband and I always choose Antica Posta for our date night. We enjoy the pasta specials on Sunday. We try something new each time and have never sent anything back!

Great ambience and superb dining

I enjoyed a wonderful dinner here with friends last week. They had several great GF options for me which was a huge plus and the ambiance was fantastic. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious!

Lovely Restaurant

By GlobeTrotting558278 |

We've been to this restaurant several times over the years and it never fails to impress. Wonderful food in a pretty little house in Buckhead. Tables are a little close together in this intimate space but once the food arrives you forget everything else. The food is always very nicely prepared. Our table sampled a great beef carpaccio and Cesar salads for apps. The veal chop is outstanding - the Tuscan chicken is the best chicken anywhere. Salmon and sea bass delicious. Pastas are fabulous. Complimentary birthday desserts & limoncello were a nice touch. Service is friendly and knowledgable. Dinner is served at a nice pace for an evening out. Definitely a place for a return visit.

One of Atlanta's best

By Jonathan L |

Wonderful Italian fare served in what was an old house. This restaurant is operated under the watchful eye of its owner and every detail is tended to. Like the menu says, "the best octopus in the world" - it realy is. But don't stop at that, order everything. There aren't many restaurants like this in today's corporatized dining world. This is a holdback from the days when families run restaurants and they cared. This is a must in Atlanta.

Horrible experience, food was average, owner was a nightmare!

By JimmyEconomos |

The place is beautiful but the owner is one of the rudest individuals I have ever witnessed in the hospitality industry. We booked this venue to host an event for a VIP client unveiling the new national marketing campaign for 2017. We were told to come and setup the restaurant at 4pm. We arrived at 3:45pm and entered the bar area to wait. The owner quickly approached us and asked what we were doing in his building. We said we were there to setup for the next event and we were waiting until 4pm...he told us his other clients were running late and now it's 430pm and the get out of his restaurant. We couldn't believe what we were hearing. I went up to him at his check in desk to explain we were his 4pm clients and we were just waiting....he cut me off. He told me quote, "I was rude, arrogant and and idiot" and if I don't go outside and wait until he tells me I can enter, that he would move our load in to 5pm....IN FRONT OF MY STAFF and volunteers. I was a nightmare, a true nightmare. The event when on as scheduled and the irony was his food wasn't any better than Macaroni Grill, the only difference is they know how to treat guests an this guy needs to take his show back to Italy.

Excellent Excellent Service & Food!!

By 2011Travel_A_Lot |

We had an absolutely great evening. The service was on point!!!......warm & just the right amount of attention & engagement. The food was fresh, flavorful, tender, succulent......some of the best I have tasted!! We had the octopus (yes, it IS the best) & seared scallops followed by the veal chop (again, yes, the best) and the beef filet. The sides, dessert, aperitif & digestif were all great......highly recommended!

Antica Posta: The Old Post Office Delivers Tuscan Perfection in Buckhead!!

By John D |

Here's the story: We noted on Open Table, when searching for Capital Grill and Bones restaurants on a Saturday, that those restaurants didn't have our desired times but at those two sites on Open Table, they listed Antica Posta as the restaurant that others who liked Capital Grill and Bones often chose. We checked the Antica Posta website and were impressed not only by the food offerings, but by the history of owner Marco Betti and his brother Chef Alessandro Betti who both were raised in the Tuscan area of Italy. We made reservations and found that to be a great choice! Valet parking, terrific ambiance and friendly, attentive staff. Marco seated us personally in a little corner nook - Perfect! Our servers - Stephan and Malik - were immediately engaging, knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive. We started with Bruschette with very fresh bruschetta, tomatoes, basil and extra virgin olive oil. We also tried their Burrata which was cow's milk mozarrella (made in house), and diced and quartered tomatoes. Excellent taste and flavors. For entrees, our daughter chose Filet Truffle, a grilled prime, center cut 8 oz tender, perfect medium-rare temperature, flavor enhanced with black truffle. This was served with parsley pine nut pesto. Great combination. Our son, always an eager eater, chose OssoBuco served Tuscan style, having never had it before. He devoured it with a smile on his face. My wife had Seabass Main which was buttery, flavorable, and the best Seabass she had ever had. It came with sauteed fresh veggies. Based on Malik's recommendation, I chose Lombatina di Vitella all grigala, an incredibly moist, tender, flavorable 14 oz, bone in veal chop. I instantly realized why it is referred to as the "Best Veal Chop In The City" . It was the best I'd ever had. Desserts included Antica's famous Almond gelato, chocolate mousse, and Torta della Nonna (Florentine grandmother's cake with custard cream), YUM! Our food was superb. Our service was attentive without hovercrafting: every detail covered without intrusion. Bottom line: Would I go there again? Absolutely! We return to Atlanta in January and already have our reservation. This truly was "Value received" in every aspect.

Such a perfect experience every time

By Jennifer P |

Every time we have eaten at Antica Posta, it has been consistently very good. This is one of our favorite places to eat. We have a special needs child and have a friend in a wheelchair when we visit there. They are very accommodating for us every time. The food is delectable and the service could not be any better. We love this place.

Recent romantic dinner with my Italian wife

By weparkerjr |

I'm a good old southern boy (or a "good ole boy" as they would say down here"), but I have an Italian wife with sophisticated Italian taste, and some local, real Italian friends, and they all say that Antica Posta is the best Italian (Tuscan) restaurant in Atlanta, and we have some good ones. The owners are a couple of transplants from Tuscany (why would anyone ever leave there?) and the do a great job with their quality, ambience, and service. If you're looking for the real thing in Atlanta, this is the place!

Disappointing

By Naomi S |

Wanted to love it, but the quality of the food was average. Disappointed that there was no fresh pasta -- just an explanation on the menu about how fresh pasta does not necessarily mean it is better. If I go to Italy, I'm thinking I am going to have a fresh pasta option. Pricey for what you get. I had dried pasta with black truffle which I know is pricey, but there were barely any truffles and the cost was 26 dollars. Good wine selection.

Food Average, Service Terrible

By NeverEnoughGolf |

My wife and I and two other couples went here for Valentines Day dinner the Friday before. Very disappointed. The food was fair to bad and the service worse. All the reviews I read were mixed but I now know why this place was nearly empty on Friday night. Food and service not up to par for the prices they charge. Stay Away!!!

A Great Experience to Come Back to

By David W |

After almost 2 months away, the restaurant and staff provided a great experience to come back to. Food was excellent! The staff and owner were so appreciative that we came back days after they reopened. Highly recommend this to anyone!

Truly Italian Cuisine

Delicious Italian food. The restaurant is cozy but plenty of seating. The service is amazing. Your server makes you feel like you’re the only persons in the restaurant. Dessert tastes homemade.

Excellent Authentic Italian Food

By Mike B |

I went here with a party of seven family members on a recent trip to Atlanta. I love bread at an Italian restaurant, and the bread here was fantastic. Comes to the table warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Great flavor and texture. They also give you a fantastic extra virgin olive oil to dip it in. I could have made a meal just on that. I started with the grilled octopus. How can you resist when the menu says it's, "the best octopus recipe in the world!" You know what, it might me. It was fantastic. Everybody at the table who tried it raved about it. Again, it had great texture and flavor. It melted in my mouth. For my main course, I had seafood risotto. I am a big risotto fan, and this was as good as any I've had in a restaurant. The rice was cooked to perfection, and it had plenty of delicious seafood. My son started with the classic meatballs in tomato sauce. His main course was the tagliatelle with pork sausage ragu. I tried them both, and they were excellent as well. Everyone else at the table really liked their dishes, except one of my brothers, who thought his seafood fra' diavola was too salty. However, I tried it and didn't think so. Service was excellent as well. Would definitely go back here.

My new favorite restaurant - try the octopus !

By Marlee319 |

I am a foodie and love to try new restaurants. My friends got us reservations for a birthday party at the chef's table (in the back). From the outside the restaurant looks like a house with valet parking on the side. It's charming inside and you are greeted by wonderful wait staff. We sat down (there were 8 of us) at the chef's table - we had 6 courses paired with 3-4 wines...all chosen by Marco, the owner. EVERY appetizer, entree, and wine was fantastic. The grilled octopus and the sea bass, oh, and the filet with truffles was so wonderful. The steak was better than the 5-star restaurants. I've never had octopus like this before - amazing! In addition to the food, Marco was charming and very accommodating to what we wanted to eat and drink. Desserts were great too. One of the best parts of the evening was hearing Marco's stories of his food and family in Tuscany. He makes everyone feel welcome. The restaurant also has a little shop with wines and olive oils to purchase. Wines were given to us at a little bit of a discount if we wanted to purchase them. I bought the olive oil - it is wonderful. So.. if you want to dine at an excellent restaurant with a charming atmosphere - go to Antica. I got on their email list and they have weekly Friday "chef-dinner" table for $79 all inclusive. I can't wait to go again (and again).

Excellent food, great service. All in all a very nice evening. Menu is creative without being off the walls. Parking is valet only.

If you want to eat the same way you would in Tuscany this is the place

By msstclare |

Marco and all make this your can always be comfortable, well fed with the finest ingredients, prepared simply, place to go. Wine choices are outstanding and always fresh - even by the glass. When he has truffles - it is even more amazing!

Good Food but Rude Server

By pdsch |

Enjoyed the food but server was rude. Bread basket was delivered to table but we were told olive oil would not be provided until we ordered and menus removed from table. We wanted to enjoy our cocktails before ordering. It went downhill when one person in our group received swordfish instead of sea bass but server argued it was definitely sea bass. Will not return.

Leisurely Dinner

By Gary T |

Went to Antica Posta with a business advisor on the recommendation of a friend. We were in no hurry and enjoyed a nice meal. The restaurant is not at all humble about their opinion of themselves - "best recipe ever" and the like. However we found food good and servers were accommodating of our leisurely pace. Expensive but what good restaurant isn't.

Quaint, calm, delicious

By Katie B |

Our family of four (two teens) loved our evening here after a day of sightseeing.we choose this as our one "nice" meal where they had to wear dresses/long pants. It was delicious! There is an extensive wine list and a specials menu with great options. We loved the grilled octopus the best!! Can also recommend the Marco salad (perfectly dressed), beef carpaccio (tip: it comes on a bed of arugula, so it can stand in for a salad), gnocchi with Tuscan meat sauce, the farfalle with lobster, the roasted potatoes (crisp exterior, hot fluffy interior), and the steak. The pork medallions were strangely well-done, which I did not ask about, so I don't know why. After dinner one of our many servers brought us some very good limoncello, very traditional. It was a quiet restaurant but we felt very comfortable enjoying each other's company. Very lovely, satisfying experience.

Buried in the basement

By TopRightPartner |

This place has lost it's way - used to like the food and personal attention to service, but they've gone downhill and are not servings their customers well. Was seated in claustrophobic back basement room - asked to change and we were told all tables reserved. Stayed for two hours and half the tables never were taken. Food portions are small, poor value and nothing special. Management is not on top of things here - good candidate for help from a Robert Irvine at Restaurant Impossible - they need a makeover big time!

Read the negative reviews

By GuyFromAtlanta_GA |

I agree with another reviewer here - a pricey restaurant with mediocre food. I should have paid attention to the red flags. They do not post their prices on menus online, there were only a few patrons here on a Saturday night, and the staff were disorganized. I had the "Tuscan" chicken which was mostly bones and greasy skin served with dry fried potato cubes. The chicken at Outback is more Tuscan than here, mate. We ordered a bottle of champagne but when it came to the table it was actually a half-bottle (375 ml). When the bill came the suggested tip was based on the total of the meal plus tax. Note to manager : tips are based on food and beverage only. We will not return or recommend.

Outstanding!

By Frank C |

The food was exceptional and truly reminiscent of an authentic Tuscan kitchen. Our server offered that fresh porcini mushrooms were available that evening and we chose to pair with two menu selections - risotto and their veal chop, both of which were amazing. Our service was professional and friendly; their wine selection was diverse with a variety of pricing options.

Authentic Italian at its best

Can't rave enough about the quality of the food, service and atmosphere at Antica. We live in the area ... our family literally each craves a dish we have to have weekly. Truly a delight for all.

Surprise Birthday Dinner

By Luthin C |

The occasion, a surprise birthday dinner for my wife Patti. First and foremost, we had an outstanding experience. This was our first time dining at Antica Posta. Carlos was our waiter and provided excellent service and recommendations. Patti had the fresh burrata and sea bass, I had the octopus and fillet with black truffles. This after painful menu deliberations and restraint from ordering one of everything. I had always shied away from octopus, but am now reticent to order it anywhere except from here. Patti was thrilled with her fresh burrata. We have had sea bass and fillet mignon before, of course, but the magic Alessandro does with his preparation put them over the top. Patti was almost disappointed that her sea bass disappeared so easily. The fillet melted in my mouth it was so tender and with the black truffles, out of this world good. Truly superb and etched in our mind forever! Carlos was attentive and provided valued recommendation with our wine, was patient and accommodating when I realized the time had passed quickly and needed to make sure to finish in time for our show, and was very gracious in making Patti's birthday dinner most enjoyable for her. Thank you for the after dinner limoncello's. This was a surprise destination for Patti and was fun to know that she knows the Betti middle brother, Gianni Betti, through her company. Many thanks to Marco, Alessandro and Carlos for a memorable experience. Grazie mille e buona fortuna

Antica Posta had been recommended to me by a friend for several years and I finally got to go Christmas Eve. Instead of a limited menu, there was a nice hefty one. I thought the food was very good and I liked the atmosphere. The wait staff was very nice too. My friend and I were there 3 hours catching up and it was lovely. Just remember all parking is valet.

The Menu Says It's The Best Octopus Dish, Period

By Kasidie |

And it is! Wow, they setting is adorable, very Tuscan and rustic yet clean and elegant. The service is top notch. Our main dishes were absolutely amazing. The Bruschetta appetizer was a let-down (only 2 small pieces of bread? Really?) and the bread basket was very bland. But we give these folks high marks for the strength of the entrees, the solid wine list and impeccable service. We look forward to going back!

La Dolce Vita

By Vince M |

Second visit to Antica after 10 years and do not know why it took so long to return. Better than I remembered and one of the best meal experiences I have had all year. Great ambiance and wonderful service. But THE FOOD!! Amazing is an understatement. The appetizers of grilled scallops and salmon salad were harbingers of the wonders ahead. My Lady then had the Branzino and said it was the best she ever had (my small sample corroborated her assessment 🙂). My Risotto with Black Truffles was perfection in a bowl. I kept saying it was too much to finish...before I finished it. Overall, an unequivocal must for anyone looking for a romantic place to impress someone special.

Best Italian Fare in Atlanta

By Don J |

My wife and I met in Long Island, NY where we had some of the best Italian restaurants in the country. We were spoiled living there, and missed it when we moved to Atlanta five years ago. We've also been to Italy twice in recent years, which has furthered our taste and expectation of authentic Italian food. When we came back from Italy the first time, we were craving real Italian, so we came here. Hands down, better than any food we had in Italy! We couldn't believe it. We've dined here a few times since, and I just made a reservation for tonight. To those other reviewers who say this food is no different than a chain, I truly feel sorry for you. Your tastes have either been "Americanized" by fast food or you don't take the time to enjoy such a treasure in our town. Thanks for what you do, Marco!

Nice atmosphere, food diappointing.

By SeattleKarl |

First of all I have to qualify my review by saying that I was there with a large group which may have affected the way the food was cooked or rather overcooked at times. I had a seasonal appetizer of Grilled Octopus which was excellent and cooked perfectly. I was however very disappointed in the Farfalle all'Aragosta (Bow tie pasta with Maine lobster). The lobster was overcooked and chewy. Overall the restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and tried to serve a very large group in a timely manner.

Buckhead Italian at its Best

By PeeWang |

This is one of the many Buckhead "cottage" restaurants so easy to miss without the neon signs and luxury cars valet-parked at the front. The completely un-flashy front is the guests' win. Once inside, it's excellent service, cozy and quiet atmosphere even with lots of guests, very good and attentive service. The Sunday half-price pasta menu made the visit even better. The salad was delicious and the risotto with fresh shrimp, mussels, scallops and zucchini was gorgeous. Not to be missed!

Go elsewhere… money can’t by good service here!!

By CiaoBella0215 |

Totally expected more!! We asked for a Sommelier for help with the wine list.. we told the server we wanted to spend $300-$400 for a nice bottle of wine for my husband’s birthday- no Sommelier available. The Server came back to our table and said “ Our owner recommends this bottle of wine” the bottle was $100 and the owner didn’t even come to our table. The recommended bottle was just OK.. our dinner choices were just OK!! I truly can not recommend this restaurant to my friends- My husband and I are both Italian and appreciate dining out at authentic restaurants- this place did not fit the order - sorry I truly wanted to give you a great review, but honestly we won’t return !!! There are way better restaurants in Buckhead to choose from. Going to have to give you 2 stars !!

Can't wait to go back to Atlanta to eat there again

By Dean S |

The second we walked in the door we could tell by the smell the food would be fabulous. We weren't disappointed. The staff was knowledgeable and they were never far away. We can't wait to eat there again in January when we return to Atlanta.

You cannot go wrong here

By Wade1261 |

Well I was craving Italian but I was not expecting such a great meal! I selected the owners favorites from the menu for the mist part from salad and dessert course. I can see why they are his favorites. I had the rack of land and it was the mist tender and delicious I have ever had! It was as tender as butter! And cooked exactly as I asked. My friend had the sea bass ( I tasted it and it was excellent as well) the recommended dessert was Pana Cotta and it wax perfect! So creamy and light on texture. I felt a little under dressed so maybe don't wear jeans. But I really would not worry about it just enjoy the good. Also the tables were very close to each other and I felt like I was a part of our neighbors party sinc we could hear every word they said and vice versa but they were really nice people so it really did not matter. All in all a nice experience .

Always a treat!

We absolutely love this little gem of a restaurant. We love the atmosphere and the food is always delicious. Last night we both were in the mood for pasta and wow was it good. The service is always great as well and we have zero complaints about anything.

Great service and meal. Loved the grilled pulpo app and gnocchi with Tuscan sauce. Pane Cotta for dessert. Loved the wine recommendation.

Best of the Best!

Been dining here for many years and always impresssed with the quality of the authentic Italian dishes and the attentive staff. I've enjoyed the Tuscan Chicken several dozen times and convinced that it is one of the best meals on the planet!

Rude staff

By Alena C |

That’s day we wanted to have our dinner with my husband in your restaurant. We came as a walk in , the guy who is working on reception was a very rude to us . The way he speak is not acceptable for people who working in service industry. Will never try to come there again !

Delicious!

Great Tuscan menu, one of the best I've found in North America, great wine list, probably $$$-$$$$ but many menu options at different price points.

Good food and poor service at significant price

By Tim B |

I returned recently to Antica Posta with family for a weekend evening meal. I will start with the positive. The food was generally good to very good. The wine selection was good, and if you wanted to have a leisurely evening, I would recommend a visit. However, I was extremely disappointed in the slow, inattentive and apathetic service. Our primary server seemed inexperienced, and was either very timid or completely disinterested. At the very high prices for entrees and drinks, we deserved to receive better. I have previously had overall favorable experiences here, so I may give them another chance. But it will take some time before I forget this.

Not the same quality anymore

By Eli2361 |

I have been to this restaurant lately after some time and unfortunately I did not enjoy it as much as I did in the past. The foods, the service.. I have been disappointed and I won’t go back anymore.

Real Tuscany Italian cooking

By Cmp1130 |

the restaurant is one of the finest from the time you walk in tell your last morsel of food. Please try the grill octopus, it is heavenly and will melt in your mouth. Eggplant Parmesan is very meaty without the meat. The taste is excellent. The roasted potatoes are white pillows of heaven. Dinner meals roasted chicken, filet white black truffles, swordfish with truffles. You can't go wrong.

Nice dinner but not what I was expecting

By dermgoddess |

Nice dinner but not what I was expecting after reading all the rave reviews. The bar staff was very knowledgeable and our waitress was pleasant. The octopus starter was very tasty however the portion was minuscule. The sea bass was very flavorful and prepared nicely but the portion was so small I was hungry when I was done (and I am not a big eater). The pannacotta dessert was outstanding. All in all a nice evening and lovely dinner but not sure the meal was worth the New York prices

Nice Surprise!

By phat_dawg_21 |

We have not ventured down to Buckhead much since Covid but did return to Antica Post to meet friends. We were seated in the bar. I thought it might be loud but that was not the case. The tables are well spaced, so conversation was not a problem. From cocktails to entrees, we felt it was a very good value. At $14 for a Sapphire Martine and $17 for a Bulleit Rye Manhattan, the drinks were less expensive than what we usually pay in Alpharetta. We felt the same way about the entrees. At $26 to $29 the pastas were a great value, especially considering the portion sizes. Service was very good. The drinks came quickly and were well made. The starters and entrees also came quickly. Our experience was every bit as good as what we have enjoyed in the past, and it seems to be an even better value. We agreed we need to start going back to the Buckhead restaurants.

Best Italian restaurant in atlanta!

By TizianoT76 |

I was born and raised in Italy, therefore I'm not easy to please when it comes to authentic Italian food! This is the best Italian restaurant in atlanta.. Hands down!! The food is simply excellent, especially if you are into truffle! The wine list contains some of the most excellent ones in the world, and fairly priced! The waiters are professional and the service outstanding! Marco is an awesome host. A unique experience, that would make you feel like you were right there in the amazing Tuscany!

Worthwhile!

Great food, great service, enjoyable environment. My husband and I have been there twice in the last two months.

Well prepared Italian food

By Ravi G |

Personal service of fine Italian food traditionally prepared to perfection. The menu highlighted signature dishes. Each dish chosen was deliciously memorable. Situated in a traditional yellow house within the heart of buckhead creates the warm ambiance of a special occasion.

A must visit!

By qlucia |

One of the best all around restaurants in Atlanta. Everything from the food, to the service, to the atmosphere is EXCELLENT! I have been going to Antica Posta for years. They are extremely accommodating for casual nights, large groups, and private events. I highly recommend Antica Posta to everyone looking for a great Italian meal. Best Veal chop I have ever had. They also have a great wine selection with very fair pricing for a restaurant.

Great food, awful service - never been treated that arrogant!

By Dennis W |

We came here with the entire family to celebrate our son's eight birthday. My parents were visiting from Germany and my son's wish for his birthday dinner was pizza. We all like high end dining and pizza and that is sometimes hard to combine. However my wife had searched the web and found out that Antica Posta was now offering pizza as well. We had eaten here before and have been pleased with the quality of the food. We sat down and it turned out - no pizza! Their website apparently is wrong. The waiter asked for my phone where I showed him their website. He left briefly and came back to tell us that indeed there would be no pizza. No word of apology at all. Nobody seemed to care. No big deal - my son was happy with pasta and we promised him a make-up-pizza for the next day. Just the fact that nobody cared was a little strange. Anyhow, the food was awesome. The octopus, the osubuco, the pasta...everything very good. But the service... After the five adults of us had finished two bottles of rather expensive white wine from Italy my father asked for another one. Surprisingly that came at almost room temperature. Our waiter explained that he had 12 bottles, but only two were cold and it was the bartender's fault. So the bottle went into the cooler without further explanation. No alternative was offered. And clearly the waiter was now aggravated by our complaint. I asked our waiter at the next opportunity if he had a problem with us and kindly asked to pay a little more attention. His response with an arrogant view was simply "sure, if you think so" and turned away. The wine was still warm when they tried again and that triggered to ask for the check. Our waiter brought the check and handed it to my father without even looking. We put in the credit card, but did not hand it over. Instead I asked him if he thought this was an acceptable way to treat customers. He then offered to get the manager. She promptly came, but I kindly asked to speak to the owner Marco who I had seen before. After a short while Marco came. My parents had observed that he had been briefed prior to see me and the first thing he said was: "You need to pay my bill. We served you food!" I had not disputed to pay at any time, but apparently he didn't want to hear my side of the the evening experience. I started to explain, but he interrupted me by saying, that I was already told that they do not serve pizza. I realized that any discussion with him would not lead anywhere. So I handed him the check and the credit card. He left and said: "If we cannot please you there are plenty of other restaurants near by." Clearly we will never visit his place again. Never ever have we been treated so poorly. One waiter looked at me while we left and said "Sorry!" At least some people there seem to be decent.

Some orders perfect others imperfect

By Jame C |

We enjoyed cocktails at the bar (properly made) prior to arrival of the rest of our party of six. Once seated the wine list was expertly handled and our choices arrived promptly. The group ordered two caprese salads described as delicious and one "Marco" house salad which contained a variety of vegetables along with lettuce and a light dressing. One guest tried the Foie Gras and declared it excellent and filling.Main courses included The butter sage sauce butternut squash ravioli which was not as billed and had an Alfredo sauce. The waiter when challenged insisted that the creamy sauce was correct-too bad. Others tried the Ossobuco which was a huge serving and the swordfish which was a nicely grilled thin cut and delicious. One of the Ossobuco servings had a bay leaf cut in pieces that lodged in a guest throat for a few moments of anxiety. Proper preparation would have left the leaf whole. The restaurant did make this right with a round of free desert including strawberry with cream, nuguat cake and brownie cake. On balance the food was well prepared with the two flaws, well served but the errors detracted from the occasion.

Very Good Italian

By robertfranks2 |

Food was very good. Menu options were very good. Service was excellent, except took too long to get my change back when I paid. But this could have been a one time thing. Give it a try if you are in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.

Fantastic Itallian

By rassociate |

A very good northern Italian meal. As you would expect the pasta is great, but add fish, and veal chops to die for you have a great meal. The service as well was excellent.

Authentic Neighborhood Italian in Buckhead

By SeriousAboutExcellencw |

This place is out of the way, in a small house on Pharr Road. It's been around forever, and is always great. It's not particularly cool, or fancy, but you will immediately feel comfortable here. Owner is Italian and proud to serve - as is the staff. Great Italian wine selection. Great veal chop, Great pasta - especially the Gemelli - which is outrageously delicious. There are other five stars around, but somehow I keep coming back here for my Italian fix. A bit pricey but not too bad. I like sitting in the bar area for some reason - its every bit the restaurant that the back of the house is. Women can dress up - but they are glad to see you casually as well.

Better this time

By Jame C |

This restaurant is a long time favorite of my wife but my prior experiences have been mixed. This meal began with Carpaccio of Salmon in light citrus oil with fennel as well as a mozzarella and tomato salad both were well received with the salmon the better dish. One of the guests enjoyed farfalle pasta with lobster while I enjoyed the grilled salmon on a bed of asparagus with mushrooms and peppers. Our wives enjoyed the veal Picatta and declared it tender and not overly flavored. The wine list is extensive with many expensive bottles but we found a reasonable Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2011 Poliziano which was enjoyed by all and complimented the food. Service was attentive although more attention to the wine glass levels would be appreciated. Pricing is strong.

Terrible Dinner

By Jen A |

I am shocked by the good reviews. We went with a group of friends and the food was so bad, I couldn't eat my meal. The rolls had no flavor. Almost as if they forgot to put salt in the dough. How do you mess up bread? I ordered the lobster pasta dish and asked for light oil based on other reviews. It came out drenched in oil and the lobster was almost minced pieces. It was a mushy mess. Our server was not accommodating. When we placed our various orders, he would not listen to our requests. He would say "I will do it this way". Um, ok. We almost felt bullied into ordering it his way. I need to add we eat dinner out 7 nights a week. We know good food and this was horrible. At $200 a couple we were expecting a different experience. We will never return.

Delightful dinner with friends.

By Richard S |

We have been to Antica Posta many times, and they have all been great experiences. We were first introduced to it by our friends Debbie and Mark Slade who joined us last night for an exceptional dinner put together by the Peachtree Chapter of the Chaine des Roitesseurs, a French based food and wine society. Our host, Marco, was his usual entertaining and ebullent self, and the service was top drawer. I highly recommend it for that special occasion, or just a spur of the moment dinner; reservations for that though, given the demand.

Marco Betti, the owner, personally greets everyone!

By anneK397VQ |

The most authentic Tuscan restaurant in Atlanta.....Marco and his family are from Florence and the food never disappoints. The most excellent rack of lamb and salmon anywhere! The staff, wine and atmosphere make for an evening you will want to have again and again.

Casual food Italian

By KRZ |

Nice casual dinner with family. Fresh mozzarella to start. Tuscan chicken is outstanding as are fresh pastas. Attentive and friendly service. Reasonably priced. House salad very nice. Not fine dining but very good food.

Great atmosphere; dinner with Marco

By Cristian |

We went (my wife and myself) for a special event: "Dinner with Marco" which was held on a special area of the restaurant, closed to the public and hosted by Marco Betti, the owner. It was a food and wine pairing and, besides having visited Antica Posta several times, it's been our best experience ever. The quality of food and wines offered was awesome and the price very reasonable; we ended up chatting until late with the whole group of attendees, restricted to 10 people and Marco himself. We strongly recommend anyone willing to taste a glimpse of Italian hospitality and food quality to join one of these special events, you won't regret it!

Delicious food but service could have been better

By jmshed |

This was our first visit to Antica Posta. The restaurant is nice with a cozy rustic Italian atmosphere. We started with The Marco salad which I thought was overpriced at $12 but it was a good portion and enough to share between two people. Everything we had was excellent. The rack of lamb was delicious although I wasn’t crazy about the vegetables that it came with. I love all vegetables but it would’ve been nice to have a variety of veggies with different colors instead of broccoli, zucchini and all green vegetables. The swordfish was fantastic and was a huge portion and could have easily been shared. My husband had the penne with spicy tomato sauce and shrimp which was also delicious! Our waiter, Randall (I think that was his name) was pleasant and attentive although we did have to ask him for bread several times. Also, he didn’t really go out of his way to engage us or even make any recommendations until I asked him. He worked with someone else and we didn’t even realize until halfway through the meal that he was actually working as part of a team because she never really acknowledged us or told us her name. The service overall was good but I felt the servers were a little aloof. It was not the same warm and engaging atmosphere that we have found at La Grotta. Also, I was very disheartened by the way customers were treated as mentioned in the previous review and I’m not sure if I would go back based on their experience.

New York style Classic Italian restaurant

By cburnssr |

We were visiting my daughter who lives in Atlanta. She suggested that we go to Antica Posta for a nice quiet Italian dinner. Antica was just that - clam, welcoming and really good food. Alexandra, our server was never out of sight - the service was exceptional. What I personally love is when table service is invisible and yet, very present. The meal was great - octopus, pasta with truffle, fresh fish, all of it very well prepared. I never expected to have this kind of experience in Atlanta. I've spent my life in the NY area, Little Italy, Arthur Ave, etc. Antica Posta is every bit as good. Mangia! Colin (Anthony) Burns

AWESOME ITALIAN FOOD

By Cmp1130 |

I experienced the Chef's menu dinner last night. Can you tell you that the feel was true to Tuscany. Cozy, farm house gathering. Each wine that was serviced was great. The truffles were fresh and plentiful on your plate. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. The chicken was succulent and moist to the bone. Oh did I mention the potatoes we got a second plate and poured the sauce over them. Every person around me had clean plates. We were full but wanted to each more. That is a sign of great food. I love Il Borro wines, I also stayed on the property in Italy and they had the best from the winerys. You can also order the wines you taste, and a case and half three hours later we left. I will be back for dinner soon, and I will never miss a chef dinner.

A truly wonderful Tuscan restaurant - you simply must try it. We will return!

By chexray |

Wonderful atmosphere, extremely attentive (but discreet) wait-staff and magnificent food. Four of us visited and I sampled as many dishes as I could. My personal meal began with Tuscan Ravioli with meat sauce - wonderful ! - followed by swordfish with pesto (an unadventurous choice, but I really enjoy fish and it was most enjoyable - an unusually thin escallope but cooked perfectly). I also sampled other dishes. The Porcini Rissotto was really good; the veal scaloppine (with mushroom/wine reduction) was so tasty that it made me question my own choice. I will return and have this as my entree next time ! (Unfortunately we do not live in Atlanta.) The meal was completed with strawberries and with Tuscan goat cheese. We drank a Sangiovese wine, which was most enjoyable and we were impressed that our waitress never missed a chance to attend to an empty of near-empty glass.

Fun Evening

By Kate Sullivan |

We are regular customers at Antica Posta, traveling 30 miles one way for an excellent meal and attentive service. We have had parties at the chef’s table. Whether we are dining with just ourselves or as part of a group we have always been treated like royalty. Marco and his staff are customer oriented and work to ensure that his customers are well taken care of. Definitely recommend Antica Posta for a quiet romantic dinner, a night out with friends or a celebration.

Authentic feel and quality ingredients

By Burywood |

The food here is an interesting juxtaposition of Italian tradition, quality ingredients and dining experience. When we arrived I asked for a Hendricks and tonic. This was served with lemon rather than cucumber. It was fine but I would have expected this to have been served right. The caprese was excellent but a bit small. The half chicken was moist and tasty but the gravy was too salty. The espresso coffee was bitter. It all sounds a bit negative but it wasn't - the environment is authentic and the service is attentive. The wine list is excellent and the quality of the ingredients is great, but there were little bits of polish that could be improved to make this a great experience as well as a good dinner.

What a pappardelle....

Local particular, restaurant with above average prices, but unquestionable quality of food. The pappardelle with wild boar are many excellent, and the rest, too, very good. Highly recommended

We enjoyed a delightful dinner. The ambiance, service and food where exceptional. I consider this as one of the best Italian restaurants in Atlanta

expensive and average

By Mark W |

with all of the dining options in Buckhead I would not go back to this restaurant..I brought my 90 year old dad and his friend for a Birthday celebration and they were less than accomodating...lighting was so bad no one could read the menu..the food was expensive and average...

worst service EVVVVVVVER!

By Jess S |

If there was an option for zero stars, then that would definitely define this establishment's accurate rating. A group of us decided to attend this place last night after seeing a 'Fabulous Thursdays" promotional flyer. We walked in and the place was completely empty, minus a small party downstairs, one upstairs, and 2 or 3 people at the bar. We thought, "Perfect, we'll get seated immediately!" This thought was far from accurate. The entire front staff immediate made us, feel extremely uncomfortable. The looks of disgust were very obvious. We all turned a blind eye and a few of us proceeded to walk to the bathroom, thinking we will be seated shortly after. Once again, that was not the case. After coming back to the front. I noticed talks amongst the staff and they proceeded to stare at us like we did not belong there. After waiting an additional 5 mins, we were told that we were not going to get seated due to how we were dressed. When asked questions, the manager only continued to repeat that they would not be seating us. His patrionizing demeanor made me cringe! We all dressed casual since the advertisement did not give us an impression that we needed to dress any different. Other customers also wore casual attire, therefore we did not feel out of place and or that we were in the wrong. We then all started to peacefully walk away and an employee then said in a very condesending tone, "Well for NEXT time, make sure to read the flyer correctly so that you can avoid this the NEXT time you all come". We received zero apologies! This by far has been the WORST experience that I've EVER encountered, since moving to Atlanta in 2009! For an establishment that seems to be "upscale", their service by far does NOT meet those expectations. I'm extremely careful when saying this, because people use this very loosely. However, there is no logical way to explain why my party of 8, all minorities, was never seated because of our casual attire, but people with fair skin and similar attire were! As we were walking to our cars, we ran into a party just like us and we made sure to forewarn them. We refuse to allow anyone to go through a similar experience, due to their skin color! Hence why I've made it a priority this early in the morning to write this review.

Great Italian

This is a great spot in the middle of town if you're hoping to entertain and enjoy great Italian food.

Outstanding authentic Italian food

By FrenchTraveler08 |

This is the best Italian food you will have in Altanta. Allesandro Betti, the Ex Chef, will prepare authentic Tuscany food. We loved the Farfalle withy lobster and the sea bass. I have been there quite a few times and I trust their specials ...Also, Antica has an outstanding wine list. Not the cheapest meal, by any stretch, but very good quality.

Authentic Northern Italian

By John R |

I had a large dinner party at Antica Posta last night. My guests and i had a great time. We put ourselves in our server, Carlos's hands and that was a good call. He brought each of us a mixed place of antipasta to get us started and several plates of grilled octopus to share. The grilled octopus was terrific and everyone enjoyed it. Most of my guests went the seafood route and were very happy. I had the swordfish and it was perfectly prepared and was not overwhelmed with additions that you see at some restaurants. The wine was perfect and reasonably priced. I will go back again for sure.

Outstanding

By Richard C |

A truly top restaurant. The decor and ambience top notch, We loved the food which was the equal or better than any we have had in Atlanta. Outstanding service only enhanced the experience.

Perfection

By loveymesco |

Enjoyed a delightful meal! The antipasto was great, delicious hard cheeses and variety of meats. Good wine selection and the service was wonderful. We had a seven year old with us, and it was funny when the host told the wait staff to sit us near another table with children. I guess they have had bad experiences with kids and dining. The waiters were very professional and offered good suggestions on wine. Food was excellent!

Well worth another visit

By Richard W |

Waiter was helpful and friendly. We accepted his advice and had a great meal of octopus appetizer and lobster pasta entree. Everyone in the group was complimentary, and we will likely return.

Pricey Italian

By Sumita B |

Nice service staff, extensive wine menu! Authentic Italian food, portion sizes are small. Nice and cozy for a romantic dinner or with a group of friends. The bread and olive oil is phenomenal!

Unprofessional

By Stephanie R |

Food was average but service was terrible. It took 25 minutes to get our drinks and the server forgot to put in our appetizers. Much better places in Buckhead.

Tonno alla griglia and Ornellaia 2013

By OrnellaiaEnthusiast |

We had Polpo alla griglia, insalata di rucola, cipolle e Pachini as a starter, Tonno alla griglia, fresh seasonal vegetables as our main dish and Cannoli con crema Chantilly for the desert. I have been to tuscany many times and in my opinion Antica Posta is equally tasty to the best tuscan restaurants. The service quality - especially the wine service - was exceptional. Marco and Sandro are perfectionists - to me the best Italian restaurant in Buckhead.

Awesome private party experience!

By Atlg8tor |

We had a large group of friends ( 28 ) meet at Antica for a Friday night birthday celebration and took over the private room downstairs. The staff did a wonderful job with our group and seemed to take great care of everyone. The apps and cocktails/wine were very good and I decided to take our server's suggestion and get the "best veal chop in the city". It was excellent so it lived up to the hype. Our group had a great time and I'll make sure I check this restaurant out again.

By Marcia D |

Excellent service in intimate and friendly Tuscan restaurant. Dover sole special prepared by new sous chef was outstanding, deboned expertly at the table. We also loved the Bruschetta, good wine selection. All in all, we had a wonderful evening, greatly enhanced by the good humor the owner and our servers. We look forward to going back.
