Great food choices

By SuzieQJupiter |

Great service and very diversified choices. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and all of the staff is friendly. We ate here twice during our stay, then walked out and sat on their patio to relax and listen to the crickets. How often do we stop in our busy lives to do that?

Excellent Food and Great Service

By Cazzintexas |

I was at this location for a convention with extended family from out of town. We decided to have dinner Friday night at this on site location, having heard about the beautiful light fixture made with hundreds of antlers. The ambiance was very relaxing and unpretentious. The menu had some very delightful selections from venison, elk, antelope, beef, quail, scallops, locally caught fish, shrimp etc. There was something for everyone with a special flair created by the chef. I selected the elk and my husband chose the antelope. I had ordered mine medium (I wanted a little pink in the middle) as did my husband. When my order arrived, I was excited about cutting into and sampling this delectable cut of meat but was disappointed when it was very well done. The waitress returned and I mentioned to her to remind the chef that the meat was not medium but instead well done. She said she would. Several minutes later, the restaurant manager came by with another cut of the elk, this time more to my liking, and gave it to me. I asked if he wanted to take the original cut, but he indicated I may have it as well. Wow, service and respect. Awesome. My in-laws had filets of beef which they mentioned were excellent, and my husband's antelope just as delicious. This is a high price restaurant, but they do aim to please and are successful at it.

off-peak

By Leah C |

We visited this restaurant for an early dinner. I was impressed with the variety on the menu. We just had regular ol' steaks. They were done properly. The server was just the right amount of how-y'all-doin, and I'll-leave-you-alone. The interior of the restaurant looked a little worn and tired. Dim lighting hid the stains on the carpet fairly well. But, there's just that certain smell to a place that has one too many au jus dumped on the carpet, right?

Expected more

By GGM_PGA |

It was okay but not worth the price. It's expensive. There were 6 of us (all adults) and it was just over $100 per person. Food was average.

Awesome dining experience!

By myredhorse |

Certainly one of the best restaurants in Texas. We always get the steak--which is delicious, tender, cooked to perfection. The chef comes up with very interesting, tasty dishes. Will eat there whenever we are in San Antonio!

Nice date-night spot in the golf section of the resort.

By DougGleaner |

Pass on the Caesar salad but everything else is good. Make sure to get the bacon and four-cheese macaroni as an appetizer.

Great Atmosphere, Delicious Meal, Friendly and Inviting Staff

By John P |

Booked restaurant for an anniversary dinner for two. Hostess was welcoming and gave us a seat next to the window with a view of the golf course. Not sure it was typical or because it was our anniversary but we received a complimentary quinoa and endive amuse bouche - really delicious. We also received a board with rolls and butter. We ordered the winter kale salad, lamb chops and porcini chicken. The kale salad was large enough to share and really good. The lamb chops came 3 on a plate on top of greens. The chops were a little fatty but still had a good portion of meat. The porcini chicken came with carrots and butternut squash puree. Both plates were beautifully arranged and delicious. We received a complimentary cheesecake in a chocolate shell cup which was a nice end to a great meal. Tips: - Parking lot for the restaurant is first right after you leave the guard shack - Restaurant lighting creates a nice ambience but makes it difficult to read the menus - Enjoy a scenic stroll down to the spa and back before or after dinner

Good meeal

Celebrated a birthday at Antlers Lodge. Atmosphere great - service outstanding - food excellent. Only reason I gave a 4 was the food took forever to come out of the kitchen.

Business Meeting

Great place, quiet and very nice. Food was excellent. I would definitely recommend dinner here. Great for couples too.

WOW....just, WOW!!!

By silvertiger2 |

We were staying at Wild Oak Ranch but decided to give this place a try. We did not make reservations but we got there as soon as they opened. They were very polite and were able to find us a table. We ordered the Bison Brisket, side of the Fried Brussel Sprouts, and the Boar Bacon Mac n Cheese. Our kids got the Grilled All Natural Chicken Breast While we waited, they brought out some amazing breads and whipped butter (one was strawberry....mmmmm)The Bison Brisket was the best tasting, tender and juiciest meat I have had in a long time. The kids really enjoyed their meal as well. The brussel sprouts were amazing, and the boar bacon mac n cheese was very creamy and wonderful. We finished the meal with the Raspberry Pistachio Mousse Cake....speechless. The ambiance is very detailed for that "lodge" feeling, the service was impeccable and the restaurant spotless clean. In keeping with the trend....I give the Antlers Lodge (a five diamond restaurant) 5 out of five diamonds for an overall outstanding dining expereince.

Great relaxing dinner

By C D |

While staying at the Hyatt for business, I met with a friend at Antlers Lodge. The ambiance is definitely adult, West Texas although not stuffy. The Wait staff were quite attentive without being overly so. The menu is manageable and selections are interesting, artfully presented, and tasty. Wine options are 'okay' and they did have an average variety by the glass.

Loved the BBQ

By sherri g |

The food is pricey..so for a large family it was up there..but it was handy and everything tasted good..Our kids loved it.

Great place to eat with family.

By Anderson H |

The Antlers Lodge was a great place to dine with the family. Plenty of room for large parties and the food was very good. Steak was cooked well and tasted great. The chef came out to make sure everything was prepared well. Dessert was very tasty, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful antler chandelier.

Al la Cart

By Playsureful |

Al La Carts is expensive,,, wondered what the fuss was about. If you like a view yes, if you have money to throw away Yes. Next to Golf Pro Shop and Locker room.

Exotic meal in a nice setting

By ftrdds |

My wife and I dined here on a Friday night. Beautiful restaurant with nice south Texas charm. Our server was Eli and his service was excellent. My wife had the special which was bison and oysters, I chose an elk filet. Both were cooked properly and very tasty. It was nice to have something different than beef. My only regret is that the portion of elk was so small.

Good but Expensive

By Linda O |

Let me start by saying I've eaten in quite a number of Hyatt restaurants. This restaurant is in a nice setting with a very nice atmosphere. Like most Hyatt products, it is expensive. Not saying the food wasn't good, but portions were very small for the price and not very special. Service was good. Entries were very basic, and any sides were extra. Sorry, couldn't you throw a piece of vegetable on an entry that cost $47? Appetizers were more creative but high also. I will not be back. There are better restaurants with better food for the money, in my opinion.

Exeptional food, amazing service, would absolutely recommend!

By Katherine B |

We dined for the first time here on a weekday. The manager Jamie and our waiter Juan were so hospitable and sweet. The food was incredible. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, the sides were soooo good. I could have licked my plate. Get the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. We will be returning for sure. I can't recommend Antlers Lodge enough.

Special Occasion - This is it!

By Sataviolet |

Only open for dinner. Superior food, service, and ambiance. Dinner for two with one drink and dessert can easily be $100.00+. Go here every year special occasions and our wedding anniversary. You will not be disappointed. After dinner walk around the hotel or outside by pools and walking paths if weather permits. Memories are here. Southwestern food.

Like nothing I've ever experienced!!!

By 7hallfarm |

Our family was on vacation at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch across the way and wanted to have a "date" night while the grandparents watch the kids. Our pediatrician had recommended Antlers Lodge as one of her favorites when vacationing. The food, service, atmosphere were exceptional.

Special evening out

By Claudettest |

Our meal was to celebrate our anniversary. Our waiter was very accommodating and helpful with suggestions on the menu. Salmon was delicious but slightly overcooked even though I asked for a buttery center. My husband's steak was not to his liking. Salads and drinks were great.

Just what I needed and wanted.

By austinteri |

Excellent food, great selection, good cocktails, great service, yummy starters, outstanding dessert....yes, do it! Pretty resturant. I want to go back soon. Loved our servers, took her recommendations, and very thankful we did. So pleasant!

Cancelled on... Without notice

By KelseyLockes |

Drove 25 minutes from downtown San Antonio to eat only to be told by hotel staff the restaurant was closed. Of course this would have been no problem if they had called to let us know ahead of time, too much to ask before spending $50 cab fare round trip? Left a horrible taste in our mouth of the restaurant and the Hyatt property.

A Very Special Valentine's Day

By awarrick |

A Red Rose for the wife from the hostess, five course meal and nice selection of wines were just what the doctor ordered. The antelope appetizer was very well prepared and quite enjoyable. The other course of note was the desert. The chocolate was prepared like a pudding but the texture was firmer than I had ever experienced. All and all enjoyable night.

No regrets

By Sheldon S |

My wife and I were initially going to a different restaurant within the Hyatt resort. Because that restaurant was closed we tried the Antlers. The Antlers is upscale, but the atmosphere was romantic so we decided to splurge. The best dinner that my wife and I have ever had. The pork and beef almost melted in our mouth. Excellent service; very professional wait staff.

Date night

By MDNied |

We've been to this Hyatt many times prior to tonight but never to Antlers. Atmosphere is pleasing. Staff is exceptional especially Noah. The steaks were cooked to projection. The sides were tasty. The wine list is extensive. The coconut brûlée was super. A great meal.

Exotic meats on the menu

By Lynne M |

Had dinner here one evening and the food was really good. My husband had the elk and he said it was very tender and flavorful. I had scallops and pork belly with cheese grits. Really enjoyed my meal. The service was very good.

Hill Country Resort Restaurant

By UptonChicky |

This is a very classy restaurant, in a wonderful resort. Lots of people eat in their other cafe, which is not upscale... pick this one instead.

Thanksgiving Dinner

By Greg |

Our group of 18 enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner here. We were in a room with another group. Service was very good. Order enter from menu, sides served family style. Could not have done it better myself!

Great Restaurant. Delicious

By Mike1indy |

This onsite restaurant at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country is a real gem. The service and the food were superb. Antlers Lodge is primarily a steakhouse but they also offer excellent fish and chicken dishes. A great place that is welcoming to adults and families with children alike. And of course, the massive antler chandelier is something to behold. Eat here and enjoy.

Don't Order To-Go

By April J |

We took a chance and "treated" ourselves to food to go from Antler's and it was absolutely terrible. Bread rolls hard as a rock, salmon fishy and weird; the chicken was dry and overcooked. Clearly there are some kinks to work out post COVID and maybe they have lost a lot of their staff, but we will not return.

Gourmet perfection

By Katnelliemommy |

We had the best time enjoying exquisite fruit soaked in wine. The heirloom tomato salad gazpacho was bright. The cheddar bacon biscuits with the churned butter was gobbled up quickly. We also tried the peach crostini infused with bourbon. Wow, very strong. This is the place to check out for a date night or to impress clients. The kids gave it a 10 out of 5 stars!

Good, not excellant

By Elizabeth R |

We were staying at the Hyatt for a relaxing weekend. We invited another couple to eat dinner with us. We were underwhelmed. Our salads were okay. Our entrees were tasty. Bread basket was plentiful . Our waiter was slow and we had to prompt him for refills of drinks. The side dishes were good and plentiful Definitely we were able to share. The atmosphere was nice and quiet. Although everything was good, it was not excellent. For the price, we were disappointed.

too expensive not alot for your money

By cindyhewer |

Got 2 meals and 2 beers. $100.00 and the meals were not hot, and the shrimp not done.

Nice steak selection

By BUBear99 |

This was our second time to visit the Antler Lodge. Our steaks were cooked perfectly and our server was very friendly and efficient. Price wise, it's on par with most other 4-5 star steakhouses. I'm normally a filet person, but I tried the bison ribeye. It had great flavor, but was fattier than I like. Too bad they didn't offer a bison filet. If you're staying at the Hyatt, it's worth a walk down to the Antler Lodge.

As wonderful as I remember!

By Jacque D |

I can't remember how long ago it was that my husband and I ate that the Antlers Lodge Restaurant, but it was as good as I remembered. The menu was fantastic, so much so it made it hard to chose. The staff was remarkable and ready to respond immediately. My grandson was with me and they treated him like he was a prince. If you stay at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort, don't miss this gem!

Awesome steak!

By Plan_1st |

This was an amazing meal, with amazing service! Kids' menus were overpriced, but it was a great experience!

Save your money and eat room service

By KariM |

We frequent the HHC and have eaten at Antler's lodge before and I must say it had gone downhill on food quality. We should have left when they told us they were out of the chicken fried oysters as that is the only good thing on the menu. The Caesar salad was worse than a bag salad. Poor quality lettuce and lacking on any other garnishes. My son ordered the $22 kid steak which he politely said he would never order again. All around terrible food with a bill totaling more than $400. The room service is much better than this restaurant. I love the chicken quesadilla.

Parent's Anniversay dinner

By heygirltx |

FABULOUS!! Great service, delicious food!! Highly recommend. Pretty pricey, but totally worth it. I was full after the second course. Prepare to get a doggie bag! The wait staff was always there to refill a glass before you asked and were very kind and helpful.

Fine Dining in a Relaxed Setting

By TravelDaveTA |

Take one part Texas steakhouse, one part hunting lodge, and one part golf resort. Add them up and you get a fine dining experience set amongst a tranquil golf course with mouthwatering offerings like boar bacon mac and cheese (is there ANYTHING in there that you wouldn't devour?) and a Tomahawk Pork Chop that is simply sizzling with flavor in every bite. An expensive getaway while at the Hyatt, but while worth it.

average for price

By Plainstravellors |

We ate here the night prior to Mother's day. We had a decent meal hear, although, for the price, I would expect more. Waiter was average to good. We had the shrimp and grits which was ok, and not over cooked, the elk, which was tiny but very good, potato leak soup (excellent), and the tomahawk pork chop. The side boar bacon mac and cheese was tasty, as were the smoked cheddar mashed potatoes. Atmosphere was average. For the prices, I just expect more from a restaurant.

Great dinner for 17

By RonJmn |

Our group enjoyed a very nice dinner on a Saturday night, It is connected to the resort and was easy to walk to under a covered walkway. The restaurant was not crowded and the service was very good. We found wines that all enjoyed at a reasonable price. The food was excellent and met all of our needs including vegetarian. The Texan atmosphere fits with the rest of the resort. You will understand the name of the restaurant shortly after walking in the entrance.

Third Time was NOT a charm

By World-TouringFam |

It’s been at least 5 years since we last tried the Antlers Lodge. My husband and I were on a trip without kids and decided to give it another try. Pros: 1. They followed my request on reservation for a table off to the side for more privacy. 2. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. We like the darker rooms for a romantic evening. 3. We had to reschedule our reservation for later and they were happy to accommodate. 4. The appetizers were good, not something I would crave and HAVE to return, but good. We had the crab cakes and fried oysters. 5. My husband left for a few minutes during the appetizer and the manager noticed and came over to the table offering to put the food under a heat lamp until he returned. I thought that was a nice gesture. 6. Our entrees, lamb and ribeye cap, were both good. Lamb was very salty, but tender. Cons: 1. The table off to the side was good, but it was next to the kitchen, so my view were the servers drying dishes the entire time and it was noisier. 2. I asked for a glass of wine and after several minutes, had to ask again and after another several minutes it appeared. 3. The server didn’t ask us how we wanted our meat prepared or what sides my husband wanted (mine came with sides). We had to volunteer the information. 4. My water glass stayed empty most of the time and I had to ask for another glass of wine when my glass had clearly been empty for awhile. 5. The table was left uncleared after finishing courses. 6. We still hadn’t completely had a bad experience until the dessert. I feel like the dessert should always be on point, because it’s the last impression. We ordered the smoked pecan pie with ice cream. It was a small piece served on a long serving platter that just made it look that much smaller. We quickly noticed the ice cream wasn’t melting and after our first bite noticed the pie was still somewhat frozen. Summary: $200 later and we left certain we wouldn’t be returning. The price is not equal to the quality of service and food at this restaurant. I debated on taking the time to write this review, but we spend so much time at the Hyatt HC that I still have hope that someone there will read the reviews and make the changes. It would be convenient to have a nice dinner while staying at the resort.

Warm, Cozy Feel and Great Menu

By CharlieinTexas |

Excellent service at this upscale steakhouse that serves exotic meats, along with what you would expect at a steakhouse. My tomahawk pork chop was excellent. The broccolini was delicious and the macaroni and cheese looked really good, but not on my okay to eat list. Two of the others with me had the filet, which they said was delicious. Nice wine menu. Great looking bread, although I can’t have that either, the others enjoyed it. Good coffee. Not a cheap meal, but well worth it in my opinion.

Great Restaurant

By Rebel82 |

This was the nicest restaurant on the west side of SA. The food was very good and the service was awesome. The only issue is it is hard to find from within the resort. Get better signage.

Poor service, steakhouse quality food at much higher prices. Tried to add stuff we did not have to our bill. Never return.

Elegant, upscale restaurant. New Year's Eve five course dining was excellent. Combo, setting and staff are what you would expect from a resort.

Antlers & Big Bucks!

By Botte515 |

A high end restaurant in a high end resort which has exemplary service, a diverse menu of meats, well cooked cuisine and a worthy wine list. The antler chandelier was cool, the bison was tender, the steak was flavorful and the boar bacon mac n cheese stole the show. Yes it's pricey, but we don't mind paying for a memorable experience. If you don't, head to a Saltgrass Steakhouse.

Excellent food in a romantic setting; I would definitely dine here again!

By Art918 |

Dined here New Year's Eve 2011. Although there was a limited menu & the place was packed, service was excellent, all food well-prepared and properly served. Extensive wine list. Definitely a fine-dining restaurant, suitable for foodies & winophiles.

Pricey, good service, bad dessert

By Jdgtex |

My husband and I ate here right after the Xmas holidays. I ordered the 10 oz. filet cooked medium rare. It arrived overdone and dry and looked much smaller than 10 oz. the waitress agreed and brought another one after my husband had finished his meal. However, this cut of meat was very generous and cooked to perfection. We were very disappointed in the $7 or $9 dessert; supposedly made by their bakery. It was a pistachio tart, not flavorful at all and the pastry seemed dry. Our meal was pricey, almost $100 each with 2 glasses of wine.

Amazing Farm to Table

By Sheila J |

My husband & I stayed at the Hyatt for a few days during our longer Texas visit and decided to relax with a great meal at the resort’s signature dinner restaurant after a day trip into Austin. We love visiting establishments that are local and Antlers does an amazing job at being local with both décor and food. The farm-to-table ingredients used in the dishes are accentuated by their creative use & preparation as well as the beautiful presentation and service. I had the fish of the day which was gulf-caught Grouper and my husband had the double bone-in pork chop. We shared the smoked cheddar mashed potatoes and locally sourced zucchini & squash. All were amazing! The wine list is one of the longest I have ever seen and I again liked that there were options (by bottle & glass) of local Texas Hill Country vineyards. I will definitely recommend any clients visiting the area to splurge on a dinner at Antlers.

Family Dinner

By Andriea P |

On July 21, my family and I (table for 9) enjoyed a delectable dinner at Antler’s Steakhouse inside the Hyatt Regency Hill Country resort. Upon arrival we felt graciously welcomed and were seated promptly at a spacious table. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I love a caesar salad with anchovies! I highly recommend the pork chop! I can’t wait to go back and have room for dessert.

Pricey, but great food!

By Melissa R |

The Antelope carpaccio and Boar shoulder were amazing! Service was great - definitely pricey but was great for a special occasion.

Good Food

By Karkaye |

If you are staying at the Hyatt Hill Country this is the place to have dinner. I found the food and service to be very good. Definitely order one of the steaks either beef or game.

Nice but not worth it

By janie g |

The atmosphere was lovely but it wasn’t up to the hype. The tomato bisque was okay but not special. Same for the lettuce wedge. I had the bison brisket with cooked turnips and carrots. When it was served it was a huge square of meat, 2 1/2 inch square and just as high. It was difficult to cut and therefore unappealing. The other meal was a red fish which was ok. The cheddar mashed potatoes were tasteless. As the restaurant filled up our waiter was harder to find. Sorry, but this was not what was expected.

Good seafood buffet on Fridays. Amateurish waitstaff. Competent kitchen.

Wow, just wow!

By MrZullo |

Had a special night out here with my wife. They took care of us with some the best service I've ever experienced. The food was excellent as well. I'll definitely be back and have already recommended you like to my family and close friends. Keep up the work!

Perfection!

By S G |

Everything about our experience here was perfect! Food was exceptional! Cooked to perfection, flavours and seasonings were spot on. Presentations were beautiful and the timing was very well orchestrated. Service was informative and friendly. Great and varied wine list. Charming ambiance. Sous chef came to our table to chat for a minute and he was so kind we wanted to ask him to sit with us if he would have had the time:) all in all, a memorable experience!!!

Excellent Food, Service and Value

By TravelinAmigos |

Loved the menu and how well the food was prepared. Prices struck us as very reasonable for a premium restaurant, particularly for the appetizers and sides. Service was fantastic. The restaurant was extraordinarily clean and fresh. What a great place!

Wonderful Food

By John J |

This was a great dining experience. The chicken fried oysters are by far the best fried oysters I have had on the planet. You get probably 8 or so oysters and they are lightly fried, very fresh, and accompanied with a jicama slaw. Elk filet was very popular with two at our table. Only 6 ounces, but very good. Probably not enough if a big appetite. Sides are ordered family style, but are a bit smaller than comparable restaurants in that one side probably is only enough for 2, maybe 3 people, to share. The bone-in ribeye was excellent, as was the small tenderloin filet. Had the lemon pudding cake (server recommendation) and pancetta. Both were fantastic and unusual, but the cake was the best. Seemed a bit higher priced than competitors, but still very good.

Very Good Lamb

By Jorton |

Was here for a team dinner and had the table right under the antler chandelier which is very impressive. I did the lamb chops which were very nice indeed along with beet salad. The price was somewhat steep but some decent choices on the menu.

Amazing food

By Texans112 |

Great quality of game food! Quail and antelope were superb and the chef even came by to meet us personally. Very pricey but it was worth it for a nice romantic meal. The 500 antler chandelier was impressive!

Great food getaway!

By Liparus |

We came here on a recommendation. It was AMAZING! Service was great and food was exquisite! Smoked Old fashioned was so silky. We had wonderful time.

A great experience!

By Capt E |

Found ourselves ashore and had to give this place a go. Must say it was superb from the appetizers to desert. Had some friends along and they to enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the poblano soup. The elk was done perfectly as was the wife's filet. For dessert we all shared the pumpkin cake with ice cream which again was tasty. All in all I would say, pricey but for a special occasion worth it.

Turned Away

By fdevilling |

Arrived at 5:30 and walked to the restaurant and was turned away at the door, because we didnt have reservations for two. The restaurant was half empty. Very disappointed!

Christmas Eve Dinner

By HappilyRetired |

Home for Christmas Eve and took my wife and Mom to dinner. Reservations were made and we arrived 30 minutes early but were shown to our table promptly. Our table was adjacent to the beautiful Christmas tree right next to the fire place that had a nice but small fire blazing. Service was great and not hurried. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers before placing our order. Drinks, appetizers and entrees were all well prepared and tasty. My wife and I had Filets which were very tender. Will definitely return when in S.A.

Wonderful Birthday surprise

By dancer45 |

We had some Hilton points to burn so we did a quick mid-week birthday getaway to the Hilton San Antonio Hill Country and Spa. I wanted to have a nice dinner for my birthday and prospects in the area looked a little bleak. Yes, I'm a bit of a food snob and although we had a good bbq dinner at Rudy's the night before, I wanted something special. Well we found it right down the road at Antler's lodge at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. We received excellent service from Adam who helped to guide us through the menu and made an excellent suggestion for our red wine. There are several 'game' dishes on the menu but we settled on a filet mignon with a mustard seed bernaise, the Pork Belly with Scallop, a wonderful wedge salad with a jalapeno dressing (just a little heat) fried oysters and cheddar mashed potato's. All were sublime and memorable. Would highly recommend Antler's for that special occasion or any other time for that matter!

AMAZING FOOD

By TXMOMof2 |

Bison steaks, amazing sides, gorgeous atmosphere. This was a nice, leisure meal with friends. The staff let us take our time eating and enjoying our meal. We spent several hours there and never felt rushed. Defintley a 5 star experience!

Unusual game-based approach

By MaggieOBoyle |

We took a large group to this restaurant without realizing that the theme is game: boar, duck, elk, etc. Between us we had day's catch, duck, bison, beef steak and shrimp. The food was excellent, the service professional and friendly and they competently handled our group of 12. Most sides are large enough for 2-3 people. Desserts were excellent. I'd recommend asking about servings with the desserts: several were petite, several served 3 people. I personally will praise the duck--it was juicy, tender and superb. Worth a visit but not if you're a vegetarian. Rather expensive ($25-60 entrees) but worth the price.

It's all about local products

By MBS1880 |

Dinner here is exciting as the ingredients are almost totally from local producers. Fresh vegetables, and game meats dominate the menu. Service is excellent. Wine list is very good and has an appropriate range of prices.

New Years Eve Dinner

By bradley m |

We came to the resort for New Years and made 8pm reservations at Antlers. Prior to arriving I received an email about my stay and also highlighting a Pre Fixe menu with multiple courses and a wine pairing for $95 a person. It was scheduled at 630pm. if we wanted reservations for that we would need to call. Also prior, I received a confirmation call from the hostess about my 8pm reservation. When we arrived at 8pm we found out that there was a different pre fixe menu and that was the only option. It was $125 with no wine pairings. The regular menu was not available. Apparently the email I got was advertising a menu advertisement from August and they have no idea how I got that sent to me. Now $125 a person is pretty steep especially considering no wine pairings, but I have paid that much before at high end restaurants for multi course menus (think Vegas celebrity chef places). For this restaurant it was a complete ripoff. What do you get for $125? you share an appetizer of raw salmon on an English muffin. you get your own dry arugula salad with a couple crumbles of goat cheese main course is a filet ($45 on their menu) or scallops ($30 on their menu) you share a 2 tiny desserts they chose - earl grey crème brule and some chocolate item the only thing I would have ordered from their pre fixe menu was the steak. so basically we paid 3x to 4x the price for our entrees. I will note that my steak was very good and if I would have been able to order it off the menu I would be more than happy to pay $45 for it. However someone else dining had to send his back twice because it was not cooked enough, and even on the last time it was still too rare but he was tired of waiting and chose to just deal with it. the manager did speak with me and comped one of our bottles of wine that we ordered, however honestly there was nothing he could do to fix this situation. We should have received the correct information when I was emailed AND when the hostess called to confirm the reservation she should have made it clear that the menu on the website would not be available and that a menu not on the website would be the only option. Had we been told this information we would have made plans to eat elsewhere and not been stuck at 8pm on NYE with basically no other option then to eat their overpriced menu that we didn't want. this put a damper on the entire evening and has honestly soured me from returning to this hyatt.

Excellent

By VJTMedina |

We really enjoyed the service and the food! They offer some game items which was a special treat! Very nice wine list as well.

A special dinner experience.

Anniversary dinner - outstanding service (Eli), delicious food. Portions were large enough that we took home portions. We were given a complimentary dessert tray - nice surprise. Beautiful setting for our fine dining experience

Great food, but service staff need training

By Flamingo2000 |

The food here is top-notch and the chef really knows what he is doing. Super fresh, super high-grade everything. While staying at the Hyatt Hill Country, we ate here twice-and we sampled the bison tenderloin (so great, my husband had it twice), the filet mignon (tender and flavorful), scallops (big, juicy, perfectly cooked) and a number of sides, all locavore fresh. Wine list is impeccable. The problem here is that the service is not up to the level of the food. They don't know which side to serve or take from. We had to prompt them to bring us bread and water at the top of our meal. Bread did not arrive until after our first course. We had to ask for ground pepper for our salads. The staff is very very nice. They just need to be trained as to what is expected at a restaurant at this level and prices.

Wonderful Experience

By Natalie V |

We had excellent service, wonderful food and loved the atmosphere. We took our children and they were friendly to them as well. We had the elk, filet mignon, venison pazole, and kids meal. It was all wonderful. We finished with toffee pudding and it was also delicious. No complaints!

This was a great dinner with a great waitress - wish I knew her name. I asked for Key Lime Pie (not on the menu) and somehow she tracked it down on the property! Try the Elk!!! Delicious!

Even kids enjoyed

By Noxoca |

This was a nice meal at a leisurely pace. The children enjoyed their dinner and were fairly well behaved. I noticed other families had their iPads in service to keep the children in line. :)

What a find!

By Lori B |

It was right next to the pro shop at the golf shop. Wasn’t expecting much. When we went in we found out it was a four diamond restaurant. It has an amazing chandelier made out of antlers. The dinner was very good and the prices were definitely not out of line. They have elk, venison, beef, pasta, everything we had was delicious! The pecan pie had a smoky flavor. Definitely worth a visit!

Our go-to for special occasions. Love this place

By Gwyneth H |

We have been coming here for several years - even before the renovations. We love this restaurant. The food is always great, and the service is second to none. The food is cooked fresh and always comes out steaming hot. We have brought family and friends here because we love it so much. This is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. It is quiet and intimate. The environment is warm and inviting. We usually make reservations and can get right in. I think the first time we went in 2022, we did not have a reservation, but they were able to get us in with no problem. We even have a favorite server, Aylissa. We moved further away and still make time to come. Try it and you will want to go back.

Nice dinner

By jvincent2014 |

Staying at the Hyath Hill Country a few days and decided to try their restaurant. We were not super hungry, thus the dinner was light. The wedge salad was quite nice, and wife had a poblano soup to her delight. Has the fried oysters for appetizer and were a bit heavy on the batter. Had an excellent bottle of wine for about $100 (well worth it).Took home some sopa...? that my daughter liked very well. Service was good, atmosphere so-so, the hotel was not very populated, but my wife has been there when very cold weather, and she loves the ambiance then with the fireplace going.

Christmas Dinner

By CEO |

This restaurant offers a set menu family style dinner on Christmas day. Starters were soup and salad. Main dishes were prime rib, Cornish hen and salmon. Sides were mac and cheese, green beans and roasted root vegetables. Plus a trio of desserts. All dishes were delicious. Portions were just right. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive and timed courses just right. We did not feel rushed. The dining area is clean, airy and tables are well spaced. The room is nicely decorated with a working fireplace and a chandelier made with antlers as the centerpiece. The open kitchen is bright and well organized. A nice place to unwind and have a relaxing dinner.

Delicious, well presented food

By jowho |

Nice ambiance, great service, and the food was delicious too. Not sure if a vegetarian would like this place.

Nice restaurant

By luv2travel4evermore |

My family really enjoyed our experience at Antlers Lodge. The food was cooked to perfection, and the service was really quite good. I'd probably give it a higher rating if the guests dining next to us weren't passed out on their table from having imbibed too much at the pool throughout the day. Of course, this is no fault of the restaurant's, but it did leave a sour note on our evening and overall experience, especially considering how much we paid to dine there.

Good steak house.

By ksigpaul |

Had a Blue Rare, bone in ribeye and the meat selection was spot on, they did really well with the medallion despite being bone in and they seasoned perfectly. Their wine selection was short, but well selected to be able to pair with their dishes. We enjoyed our meal as a family and the wait staff provided great service. Room for a little improvement: I respectfully can’t agree that their menu is innovative. Their spring rolls were good, but by going with barbecue for sauce, instead of a traditional light sauce, they made spring rolls heavy. I do wish they had better kid options, they could convince more adults to come by making this modification if temporary when the hotel hosts events. Please add full size salads to the menu, many couples like to go half and half steak and salad and add a appetizer; you would be able to fill the dining room.

Great place for a nice dinner

By ReefDiver33 |

We had dinner here as a family while vacationing in San Antonio. Beautiful restaurant located at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. I am often wary of resort restaurants, but this one exceeded expectations. The chicken fried oysters were awesome, and the steaks were perfect. Service was excellent and accommodating. Wine list, while a bit small, had enough depth to accommodate whatever you're in the mood for. I didn't give it five stars due to the kids Mac and cheese having to be sent back as it was soupy the first time, and the mushroom side dish was not on par with the rest of the meal. However, those weren't deal killers and we would definitely return. The menu is varied with beef and wild game. I recommend.

Great steak

By gslincorp |

On the recommendation of the resort staff who said reviews and feedback from other guest that the place for a great steak was Antlers. Would highly recommend the steak. Recommendation from staff is to make a reservation well in advance on the day you want to eat.

Excellent romantic restaurant

By Linda B |

Excellent food, romantic restaurant, great service. It was all things you expect in a fine dining restaurant.

Best restaurant in the hotel.

By Steve S |

If you want a break from the Disneyworld atmosphere, this is the place to go. The steaks are great, and the southwest favorites are well executed.

Excellent bison, elk and quail, small snapper

By Bill L |

The Antlers is far from the front desk of the Hyatt resort (good) with lots of parking. The atmosphere is faux hunting lodge (lots of antlers in the light fixtures.) Most of the food and all of the service was excellent. Since their focus is "game meat" (probably from specialty farms, not shot by hunters) I recommend that route. My wife, one of our friends and I had quail, elk and bison (quail can be an appetizer or entree) and we all were very happy. Our other friend had a red snapper filet. It was "catch and release" size, about six inches long. He said it tasted good and he enjoyed dessert, but it did not compare well with a 10 oz bison filet or elk medallions. The lighting was so soft that we had to squint to read the menus (dark print on white paper) and I had to ask for a penlight to read the wine list (red or brown ink on tan paper).

Rushed, dark, and small

By Lou B |

First...the restaurant is beautiful with multiple antler lamps and chandeliers, including a very large one in the center of the room. That was the best part - walking in, but restaurant was dark. Service was rushed even though our party was seated early in the evening. Two other tables seated in the restaurant. Went like this - here is your wine list and menu; want to order now? Can we have a few minutes? Ok, but how about your wine now? No, come back in a few minutes. One minute later - ready to order your wine? We did. Now you want to order your meals? How about after we get our wine. Wine delivered quickly - want to order meals now? Do you mind - we will call you over when we are ready, which was only 5-6 minutes later. Menu and wine list - very small thin fonts on brown paper. Difficult for all of us to read by the single candle on the table. Had to ask for a flashlight, which was provided. Blackened red fish - barely blackened; small piece of fish on large plate that appeared sprinkled with spices; not blackened. Sides of vegetables - nothing exciting with regards to taste or presentation. Thin asparagus; thin wet string beans, small potato casserole. Bison was tough and too gamey. We skipped desert as did not want to go through the hassle of getting the flashlight again to re-read the menu. $75pp prior to tip - too expensive for quality/quantity/dark atmosphere.

More like a 3.5

By linlo |

I wanted to say i loved this place, but I only liked it. The room is beautiful, and of course, the entire Hyatt property is lovely. Maybe this was an off night, but everything just seemed a little disjointed. Our waiter did little more than list the special and bring our food. We both ordered a potato dish as a side; it would have been helpful if the waiter had explained that the sides were enough for 2, and suggested another option, but he seemed only interested in the basics. While the steaks and potatoes were good, they were only slightly above average. The chopped salad that we both ordered was over smothered in dressing. On the whole, I found the experience lacking.

Wonderful

By upscale-travel |

Elk and antelope are FANTASTIC ! The dessert list is definitely lacking but the main courses are wonderful. We went 2 nights in a row (bill for 2 adults, 2 kids was approximately $370) and the restaurant and ambience was wonderful. Waiters were also impressive. We will be back!

Beautiful setting, not a huge fan of the food

By EatShopTour |

This is a beautiful restaurant and our window seat offered wonderful views, that is the high light of my meal at this restaurant. Our service was only ok, not great. Their were some problems with our meals, which were rectified by management. My husband enjoyed his meal, I not so much. One part of the problem was the flavor profile was not something I enjoyed.

Make that just Good.

By MTNestN |

Wanted to try some of the more interesting meats on the menu, but couldn't justify the price! what we had was good. Our server was attentive and we enjoyed our meal, but felt that it was a bit too spendy for its location (tucked away and hard to find from the hotel - it was practically empty when we ate there, even though the hotel was packed).

Great service and great food

By Dave H |

I'm not usually a fan of hotel restaurants, but Antler's Lodge is an exception. Great to see Eli is still working as a waiter here. He is such a humble waiter and willing to make suggestions as you need, never upselling his guests. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they even had a card signed by the staff when we arrived. I enjoyed the house salad, which was a generous portion and full of fresh greens, cranberries, candied pecans, and root vegetables. For my entree I had to go for the huge tomahawk pork chop. It was paired with sautéed greens and fingerling potatoes. The pork chop, cooked medium rare was excellent. They brought the birthday girl a chocolate torte that was dense and decadent. Antler's Lodge is definitely a great place for special occasions.

Great food and service

By TarHeel810 |

A casual restaurant with good food and great service. The fish tacos are really great and the other menu items well prepared and tasty.

Lovely Evening

By Zamigaos |

We were there on a Saturday evening in August to celebrate our anniversary. We did not mention our special day, but were given a lovely, quiet table for two by the window and this made the setting for the meal really nice. We had an 830pm reservation and our table was ready when we got there. Our server was excellent and made some great recommendations when we asked his opinion. The bread which came with the meal was to die for! Loved the pecan butter! The food was excellent, though the asparagus could have been cooked just a bit more. The steaks were cooked exactly as ordered and the sauces pairings were yummy. We did see a couple of kids there, but were glad we left the teens with a pizza. They would not have appreciated the food or atmosphere. We loved it.

Awesome!!

By Ruben N |

The food was excellent. There were 7 of us we all had something different, and we were all very pleased with the food and service.

Great meal

By wsr55 |

Wife and I stayed at the Hyatt Hill country for couple of nights. We dined at Antlers Lodge one night. Thought the food and service was exceptional. Would definitely go back.

Fantastic food!

By Ashley W |

My family of four, including two boys under the age of three, ate here during our Labor Day vacation at the property and the food was absolutely amazing! And there was even a menu for children and they were so good to our boys. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, and our meal was so good. I had a steak that was cooked perfectly and my husband the fish, which he devoured. Both our salads were fresh and delicious and had the weather been good (it was pouring rain) the view would have been amazing. Don't miss this restaurant ... and I highly recommend reservations. We almost didn't go because we had our boys, but they were just fine in there!

Lovely experience

By D'Ann M |

We ate here twice. Once was a banquet-like setting (approx.40 people). The other was with a group of around 20. The food was great both times and the waitstaff was both accommodating (our group number changed from 13 to 16 to 20 while we were there) and friendly.

Texas Cuisine in a Lovely Southwestern Dining Room

Antlers Lodge in the Hyatt Hill Country Resort rates 4 stars for its casual elegance, locally inspired ingredients, knowledgeable mater 'd, Shane, talented chef Armondo and attentive servers. Divine biscuits, Try one and you are sure to want another and another!.

Delicious Food with Texan Style

By ahyden |

OK, it is expensive, but it is oh so very good. Some complain they have to get too dressed up to go (no flip flops, etc), but I am glad that there is a dining option at the resort that does not have someone next to me having tater tots and wearing a swimsuit. Love this restaurant and its menu. Have been going here for 20 years plus and have never had a bad meal. The menu continues to evolve, but always has a Texan influence which I really enjoy. The atmosphere and service are top quality. Getting hungry just writing about it.

Best Filet!

By alaet |

My husband and I shared a delicious dinner here. First, the bread and butter was amazing! I'm craving it right now. The wedge salad was delicious with just the right amount of kick to it. The 5 oz filet was so tender and flavorful, I can't wait to go back! We also got the jalapeno potatoes au gratin and asparagus sides, which were prepared perfectly. The service was excellent. The manager even stopped by to bring us a box of corn flakes to turn our leftover potatoes into a casserole with a crunchy topping. It was extremely kind and thoughtful of him to recommend this idea! Outstanding!

A real Texas feel!

By Darlene M |

The Antler's Lodge is located in the Hyatt Hill Resort on the Far west side only about 2 miles from Sea World. We wanted to visit a nice restaurant with a real Texas vibe for our anniversary. The chandelier inside is made of 500 naturally shed antlers. Quite impressive! The lodge is pricey, so please keep that in mind. We started with an appetizer of wild game lumpia. The blend of flavors and garnishes of different herbs was quite wonderful. My dinner was Texas redfish and my husband had New York Strip steak. All dishes were prepared perfectly and the sides we chose of mushrooms and smoke flavored mashed potatoes were excellent. Dessert was pumpkin crème brulee with dark cherries. My compliments to the chef. Food, service and atmosphere all top notch. My only complaint was the drinks. I had a special mixed drink off the menu. Very nice taste, but no liquor. I complained and the second one was much better.

Completely Different

By GBHSENOIA |

If you have never had a chance to eat Elk, Bison, Boar, then you neede to go here. They are all on the menu, plus much more. All was great. A tad bit pricey, but worht it.

Not as Good as Expected

By FabulousTL |

The restaurant has a pleasant, albeit a bit dark, atmosphere. Large and mostly quiet. Many around us were celebrating special occasions. You can be as dressy as you like, or more on the casual side. The alcohol pour was short. Service was very pushy at the beginning to get our order, but then disappeared. The antelope carpaccio was tasty and not gamey. The venison was loaded with flavor. The scallops were cold. And the pork was dry and overcooked which was unfortunate because it was a great piece of meat. Although we stayed at the resort three nights, we didn't want to return to this restaurant. Even when we didn't want to travel off property.

Great Food and Service

By Gallitorojo |

This is a great place to eat, especially if you don't want to leave the resort. It is certainly not average hotel food. Don't go though, if you are not willing to spends some bucks.

Very nice meal

By Ron K |

The steaks and pork chop were excellent, cooked to perfection. The wait staff could not have been any better. A little expensive but the food was worth it.

Fabulous food!

By Cindy S |

The steaks were amazing! The appetizers were interesting and delicious. The service was attentive and efficient. We are there twice as the food was so good. We had two wonderful waiters, Marcy and Vince.

A nice semi-formal dinning experience

By sher2011 |

I had the best fresh and fries oyster both at this restaurant!! My steak was also excellent. Interesting to see all the antlers used for decorations and chandelers

Food excellent but not sure it was worth the $130 for two.

By angiinkc |

We went on Christmas so our choices were very limited. The food was very good, but wouldn't go again. Come on, instant potatoes. Everything was ala carte. No one should have to pay 5 bucks for instant potatoes after paying 45 bucks for the steak. They brought out a chef's free offer for dining. I have had those in some other restaurants and they are usually odd things but good. They brought out two different types of pitted olives. What the heck do you do with the pits??? Spit them in your cloth napkin? Spit them out on the plate...........Seriously. The shrimp was excellent though. Very fresh. My husband liked his steak, but thought Fogo De Chao was way better. Service was questionable. Twice we had to ask for refills and they weren't THAT busy.

Antelope, Bison, Venison

By mjlynch |

This restaurant was pricey but very good. I appreciated the opportunity to eat something you dont see too often. I ordered the antelope tenderloin. It was really good. The sides and apps were great. Tomato caprese and chicken friend oysters where my favorite.

Fabulous Food

By Douglas C |

Everything was so good!! I was impressed with both the food and the service. Try the rib eye steak and chicken fried clams. The chef will do anything you want and customize for vegan or other needs.

The Antlers was excellent

By qualjohn |

We had a great experience at the Antlers. They specialize in game meats, which was a plus for me. The Elk was outstanding. They also offer more traditional fare. The service was outstanding, attentive, non invasive, and friendly. You have to be okay with antlers etc. as a major component of the decor, but the food is anything but rustic. It is high end.

Dinner and Wine

By Marissa L J |

Great food, wine, and service! This is a lovely Restaurant experience for those who like Fine Dining. The Manager was so very nice - she made our evening very special.

One of the best

By Crystal R |

My husband and I were here on vacation at Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch. Our last night we wanted to make sure to eat here for my husbands birthday. I could not believe how friendly everyone was to us. The chef had made a mistake and brought out some pablano soup which was amazing, then he and my husband started talking about food (both chefs) and it was just wonderful. Even the tomato & Mozzarella salad was amazing. Cold fresh and divine.

Overrated, Overpriced Steak Place within Hotel

By Michael I |

This could [COULD] be a great place; however, the Chef should consider not getting so complicated with the menu choices and focus on doing the simple stuff right. It's Texas. It's steak. How can you mess that part up. My wife and I eat in the finest steakhouses around the US (it's a hobby somewhat) and have never seen all this "sustainable" nonsense in any of them. Leave it to SA and the generation to do exactly that!

A "10"

By countessjc |

This was probably the best restaurant experience that my husband and I have had in quite some time and we are world travelers. The oysters were fabulous and the steaks were tender as butter and full of flavor.Everything was served at the approppriate temperature which has become a great failing at many restaurants..Our server was most attentive and efficient .Although pricey this dining experience was worth every penny.

Very good service at the Hyatt

By Bill M |

The ambiance and service are top notch thru multiple visits. The food has ranged from excellent to OK.

Romantic Dinner

By markI5153NG |

Formal but friendly staff. Great dishes, but not particularly expensive for a 5 start restaurant at a resort.

Amazing food

By Ryan Becky J |

This place is attached to the Hyatt Hills hotel. We are a supper meal here during our stay. The meal was amazing but it is expensive. I had the 14oz pork chop and it was tender and cooked to perfection. Others with me has elk and filet minion and they said it was also amazing. The wait staff was great and friendly. Definitely a nice place to eat even though it’s attached to the hotel. Definitely recommend eating here if you want an amazing meal and are willing to spend the money.

Excellent menu supported by incredible staff.

By NSole |

Dinner for 9 without reservations could be a disaster, except if you are at Antlers. Menu is fantastic, and wait staff very comfortable in their roles for a great dinner. Wonderful wine list and the decor was incredible. We will return!

Nice Place...Food Just O.K.

By eric2000f |

This restaurant has a wonderful ambiance, but can be pricey. That chandelier was amazing...made of hundreds of antlers. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. My wife enjoyed her soup. My children enjoyed their childrens' plates as well. However, I did not really enjoy my empanadas. They were just O.K. I would give it another shot, if I was staying at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort.

A True Delight

By Greg P |

Had business at the San Antonio Hill Country-Hyatt and spent several days eating in the hotel's downstairs restaurant, which is good or having meals catered to our meeting. On my last evening, a large group, make that several bus loads decided to go to the Riverwalk and fill up all of the restaurants located there, so I decided to check out what other restaurants this mammoth hotel had hidden away. Checking the directory I found Antlers Lodge. This restaurant features wild game and a great wine list, so I decided to try it with my wife. Simply put, it was worth every penny spent. For the main course, I had elk. My other choice would have been the antelope, but our waitress convinced me to go with the 6 oz. elk. The elk was delicious, as were the cheddar mashed potatoes. Jessica our waitress was very attentive, but not smothering. She made certain the order was correct, to our liking, and even inquired about food allergies. While this is the beginning of the hotel's slower season, the restaurant was well staffed and made certain that we were satisfied with every detail. Dave, the manager, even stopped by to check on our dining experience. I have to say, I don't often praise a restaurant, but as I told him, this restaurant deserves it. My wife and I tried two of the appetizers, the empenjadas and the quail. Both were excellent. While I am not certain that the wine list is world class, I will say it carries some of the finer wines. We had the Ferrari-Carano Sienna. It was chilled to perfection and a very good deal for the price we paid. While the hotel was outstanding in every way, finding this restaurant was the highlight of our stay. We will definitely go back next time we head to San Antonio.

Best food with excellent customer service

By Scenic120397 |

were there for a date night and it was AWESOME !! we had a great date nigh and late anniversary dinner

SO Delish

By Crystal R |

Food is amazing. My husband is a chef so we had to come in plus it was our first family vacation and his birthday. The Pablano Soup was AMAZING the filet was delish and it was so beautiful. The prices are not for everyone it is expensive. dim lite very intimate ( we had a late reservation) but it was beyond excellent.

good but not great

By rhodeygem |

I had the fried oysters, and they were tiny and over cooked. One of the specials was a small fillet, with "fresh shrimp". The fillet was delicious. But the shrimp, a terrible disappointment. I was assured that the shrimp was fresh from the gulf, but it was most definitely frozen, and from a farm somewhere. The staff was quite attentive and courteous overall. The restaurant is not easy to get to from the hotel, it is a bit of a hike, which would be quite a problem for an elderly or infirmed guest.

Dinner

By Tate C |

Food was very good. Had the filet with blue cheese sauce and it was excellent. Prices were a little high for the level of service but it's a resort hotel so no big surprise. Sides were plenty big for two adults to share and very tasty.

Great atmosphere

By Catherine H |

We went to the Antlers Lodge. The antler chandelier was amazing! For the most part, the meal was okay. I did ask for my steak to be medium, but got it back rare. Just couldn't bring myself to eat it, so I had to send it back. However, they got it right on the second try. Recommendation: Try the Smoked Cheddar Mashed Potatoes. Delicious!

Disappointing, overpriced

By SJMCSM |

They were out of 3 menu items, and the wine we ordered. Food was overpriced for the quality. No entree below $32, which is fine, just need the quality to follow it. Would recommend eating off property if looking for a dinner of this cost. This quality of food at this price is just not what a Hyatt is capable of pulling off correctly.

Noisy

By EoNominee |

The New York strip tasted old, or maybe microwaved. The side dishes were great, My wife's redfish was good. Buy really not space to escape screaming children at an evening diner!

excellent food

By jjjday |

Loved the food and service. Food fairly priced for the quality. Also, quick service for all that is prepared so perfectly.

Pricey, good quality

By SweetWillie |

On Friday night, Mrs Willie & I stayed local and dined at The Antlers steakhouse. Started out with the charcuterie plate which contained housemade salami, elk pate, prosciutto. All REALLY good. The two types of cheeses were just ok, not really up to the quality of the housemade meats. Had a bone in ribeye that was very tasty and cooked to my preferred doneness. Mrs Willie had the elk filet, cooked past her preferred doneness, was ok as a result. Service was very attentive but shame on the restaurant for lack of training, waiter wasn't aware of why their steaks were special, what was on the charcuterie board, etc.

One simple word, "Excellent".

By Michael N |

Had dinner with my wife and some colleagues at the Antlers Lodge during our stay at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country in San Antonio. The food was amazing. A couple of our party had the Bison steak with shrimp which they loved. My wife had the free range chicken and I had the pork loin chop. Both were fantastic. The salads were great and the sides (asparagus, mushrooms, mashed potatoes) which were served family style were excellent. They have an excellent wine selection and the rest of the menu offers other interesting choices such as Elk and red snapper along with great choices of beef. If you're in San Antonio or staying at the Hyatt then make sure you try Antlers Lodge out. You won't be disappointed.

Total Disappointment

By Jeri G |

We had what is conceivably the worst restaurant meal we've ever had. I had the cornmeal crusted trout, which wasn't bad, but so over salted that I couldn't finish it. My husband had the short ribs, which was a tiny portion of meat, but the sauce made it basically inedible. It too was too salty to eat but the sauce tasted, well, just bad. The wait staff was extremely solicitous and tried to make things better, but we were finished by that time, both with our food and the restaurant. The saving grace was delicious asparagus, grilled to perfection and not salty.

Good food; Fair value

By jaka_1 |

The menu is interesting and the food is prepared to high standards. What makes this restaurant less than stellar is the pricing and the unfavorable service. The service is extremely slow every time I have eaten here, often due to under-staffing. Also the waitress' knowledge of the menu and the wine list was almost zero. The Manager was too busy to visit our table for a wine recommendation after the waitress admitted her lack of knowledge, and asked him to intervene. But he did send her back with a brief explanation of the 2 wines we were contemplating. If you want an interesting menu, a VERY leisurely dinner, and don't mind paying top dollar, this restaurant is worth a visit.

It seems we visited after the storm

By katym0m |

A large party had previously just been there and it seems they cleaned out. There was no kale, mac'n cheese, redfish, etc. etc. We opted for Elk, Bison, and New York Strip. The Bison was salty and the Elk looked and tasted like Sirloin. We had to switch tables because ours was rocking to much. The restaurant has a romantic and rustic ambiance with a beautiful antler chandelier, but the food was only average and not worth the hefty price (42 USD for 6 ounces of elk or bison; that's 7 USD per bite!). At that price I do at least expect a table cloth!

Major Disappointment

By Liz C |

The Manager cancels my 6OTH BIRTHDAY reservation the day before, and hung up on me when I asked for alternatives accommodations (because he did not). He then called my hotel and complained about me questioning him. I would suggest better training.

Superior Meal

By marie k |

The menu offers a good variety of steaks, fish, chicken and vegetarian options. There were 7 in our party and everyone had a delicious meal.

It would have been 5 Star if we just hadn't ordered a entree

By pbj2174 |

I have to say I had read the reviews and was very much looking forward to eating at this restaurant. The meal started off very well. They brought bread to the table and a pecan butter that was amazing. For appetizers we had the English pea soup and the Chicken fried oysters. Both were delicious. The soup had big chunks of bacon and croutons. I found myself wanting to pick the bowl up to get every last drop. The entrees selected were the Bone-In Ribeye and the Gulf Coast redfish. I ordered the ribeye medium rare. When it was served it was brown all the way through - I informed the waiter who had it taken back - and when it was returned the second time, it was raw. And the red fish was also completely over cooked. We didn't send that back because we were afraid we would get Sushi back. Their entrees are very pricey and I would expect that at a restaurant of this caliber they would know how to cook the meals. I will say the sides were also very good - we had the pan roasted asparagus and the jalapeno potatoes au gratin. The potatoes were some of the best I have had. For the trouble we went through they removed a $12 glass of wine - the steak was $49. Not sure I got the better end of that deal.

Great meal

By dady8tor |

I got way more out of this meal than I was expecting. We had an assortment of appetizers that was especially good. Heirloom tomatoes and pork belly were so good I could have made a meal of it. Jalapeño goat cheese was also excellent. Steak was just right. Good wine selection. I would definitely go back here. Atmosphere was also great.

Nice semi-formal dining at resort

By sher2011 |

It is a semi-formal restaurant at the resort; the décor is amazing especially the chandelier in the middle of the dining room with all antlers!! The food was good, I had the best (slightly) fried oysters and my steak was fork tender. I did not try other wild games offered on the menu. The portion was good for sharing and the service was excellent.

Delicious and right at the resort

By Angela R |

Really delicious food and great presentation. Be prepared to spend, it is high end but the quality seemed to match the price. Very friendly staff.

Good Meal - Poor Dress Code

By Ron D |

The food was good and prepared exactly as ordered and service was a little above average. The ability to have Elk and Bison is very good although a bit pricy but expected. The restaurant is located at a resort hotel and should consider a dress code for those who dress for dinner and wish not to be seated next to t-shirts and flip-flops. I do expect appropriate dress when I plan on spending over $100pp for dinner.

Excellent Service and Terrific Diversity of Menu

By D R |

This restaurant is superb in service and food. They go above and beyond to give you an experience. The ambience for this restaurant is warm and inviting yet romantic. This restaurant had some of the best food we have ever had.

Awesome food coupled with great ambiance

By Meredith I |

Have you enjoyed buffalo? Ostrich? Or extra tender venison? Then this restaurant will rival previous experiences of wild game, a great steak, or even just wanting to enjoy a savory dessert...excellent is not quite good enough to describe their food and service And if you want an extensive wine list, you won't be disappointed Hope you get to enjoy Antlers soon!

Very good food, solid service, a little pricey - but not for a resort - and a beautiful setting. Recommend for anyone looking for game. I had an antelope tenderloin and it was excellent, as was the side of heirloom carrots. Venison and elk also on menu. Spouse enjoyed the gulf coast redfish. My wedge salad had interesting flavors, with a little spice ( jalapeño bacon, poblano ranch, roasted tomato, cucumber). My only complaint - we asked for 6:30 reservation and told only had 6 or 6:15, which we took, but the room was 1/3 full the whole time with plenty of servers - why no 6:30? Ask for a window seat.

Excellent food and atmosphere

If staying at the Hyatt Hill Country, try this restaurant. Great service and inventive food choices. We were there during Octoberfest menu and enjoyed their 4 course dinner.

A taste of home

Wow. So refreshing to find fresh, local food that satisfies a craving for home cooking. It's worth the wait, so simmer down and anticipate true deliciuosness. You'll be glad you did.

Big Disappointment!

By Lynda R |

Have been going to Antlers for years for Thanksgiving, birthdays, anniversary etc. Thanksgiving 2023 was a big disappointment. The quality of food has declined. Attention to details when putting sauce on plates was totally lacking. The size of dessert and appetizer was totally down to a tiny serving. The hotel is undergoing major renovation. The lobby entrance was a bare floor with a pieces of equipment parked in the middle. No decorations around Granny’s porch. The entire dining experience dropped to a generous rating of 3 stars as compared to 5 stars every time we have gone in past 10+ years. I truly hope this is not a downward trend for what I have felt was an excellent restaurant in San Antonio.

Better value at nearby restraunts

I could not believe that for the high price, the antelope portion on my plate was so tiny. The Caesar Salad was not good. The filet my husband had was tasty, but again so very small!!!! Perry's Grill, Bohanan's, Palm, etc. are better choices for the same price.

Upscale??? Not so sure.

By Ron D |

Antlers restaurant has been advertised over the years to be their "upscale" restaurant within the resort and I know that there is a very large investment that the restaurant must cover each night in order to meet their "break even" point, however, if you are going to be an upscale restaurant, even though you are part of a resort, should you have a "dress code"? Bathing suits and flip flops with wet t-shirts at the dinner hour. Not my idea of what should be allowed into an "upscale" place. Doubt we will go back.
