My First Visit

By etearat |

Came to this location to see a live concert... the place was a little small to old a concert.. but I think it was more for an intimate setting.. the food was on an average basis... a little expensive for the quality... I think that was only because a concert event was held there...

Fun, Fun, Fun

By Munch Diggy |

The place is great. Although the venue is small and gets packed quick, the atmosphere is wonderful!!! You must have the jet wings, they just fall off the bone. Music and the house band are great. Wednesday nights Al Smith band rock all night long.

interesting evening out

By jeh1990 |

We just happened to stumble upon this place when looking for something fun to do with friends. It was different and we had never been before so we were all pretty excited. There is a cover charge and then there is a $10 minimum per person if you're going to sit down. Which I think is crappy cause I just paid $7 to get in. The atmosphere is good. It has a cozy cute artsy interior. The service is absolutely terrible. I think there is only one server in this place, and he has enough attitude for a whole table of people. Which is unacceptable in my book. The food is crappy bar food. The fried chicken (which i was really excited about ordering) isnt real fried chicken. It's one giant chicken tender. The service was so bad that we had to leave our table and go to the bar to even get served a drink because he never came back. The entertainment was good. Started later then they said and was incredibly unorganized. Nothing was set up, none of the mics worked, it was a huge mess. Aside from that the "freestylers" and musicians were wonderful. It got EXTREMELY loud at one point and really hurt my ears. I'm 24, I like loud music, but that was painful. So that part really sucked because I couldn't enjoy it. Also, the MC was great and very talented but he kept saying how he was drinking and tipsy and didn't know what was going on and while all of that is fine, this is not the time or place. I paid to see a show not watch someone screw around on stage. The "rap battle" was suppose to start at 11. It didn't start til 12:30. And the rap battle was the whole reason we came so we figued we'd stick it out and wait so that we could watch it. The MC also kept saying "we're gonna do the battle next, were gonna do the battle next," 5 performs later... "oh one more person then it will be next." "We're just waiting for them to set up the cameras for the battle" First of all I didn't pay to get in to be an extra in your rap battle film. I came to see a performance. Also, them "setting up cameras" was one guy standing and holding a camera. All i can say is wow. Finally the "rap battle" begins and it was fun and were glad we saw it but we didn't leave this place til 1am. Bottom line is I was very unimpressed with this place. The talented artists were amazing but it's ashame that this is the platform that they have, cause I will never go back to this place again. I do not appreciate my time being wasted because you can't get your stuff together and set up a mic before patrons get there. We all have places to be the next day so we don't have the luxury to stay out til 1am on a Tuesday. And if you say things are going to start at a certain time then I expect them to start at a certin time. Food was terrible, service was terrible, the organizing was absolutely terrible and I will never go back. That being said the talent that performed was incredible and they deserve better then that. If they could get there stuff together and get better management then this place really has potential to be a unique, different, "date night" experience.

Solid brunch

By Chelsea A |

So I went here for a trap brunch this past weekend and I have no complaints! We love a good brunch with bottomless mimosas. I got the steak and eggs and my friend got the chicken and waffles. Prices are reasonable and the shots weren’t too bad either. But back to the food- steak with topped with this bomb sauce and I was able to add peppers to my eggs. The place is very cute too! I would definitely do this again! Also a small area outdoors if you need a smoke break.

Apache XLR Bad experience

By Donita S |

We bought tickets in advance for dinner and wine, when we got there they were confused as to how we got tickets on Groupon then we were told there was an event we had to pay a cover charge, then they told us we couldn't order certain food, a double shot of Jack Daniels was $32.00, we got the pork chops they were awful as well as the rest of the meal and even the dessert was bad, to top it off the bartender/waiter asked for a tip.

Poetry anyone???

By Zeala S |

Come share or receive words of wisdom while sipping on your best chosen wine doing open mic night. Check the calendar for open mic night. My experience there was nice, although I'm not at liberty to say how the food is, the atmosphere is pleasant.

Enjoying time out with family....

By MurikaDiva |

Al Smith Jam Session with family and friends. Definitely buy tables in advance to be up close and personal. Light apps, variety of drinks, great atmosphere, well lit. Get there early for sure. Great music, awesome art, lighting sound, good poetry. Real artists.. Al and the band were great!

Meh

I decided to visit this place after reading positive reviews online. I visited on a friday night and had to wait at least 30 minutes before the venue opened for the second show of the night. They seemed a bit unorganized to say the least. The cover charge was a bit high for my taste but my friends wanted to check out the place so we paid the cover. The entertainment was okay. The highlight of the night for me were the jerk chicken wings which were great. Can't say that I'll rush to visit this place again.

Sunday Poetry with Queen Sheba

By cyntoria t |

Sunday Open Mic night was a treat. I always enjoy going to a local artist heavy event. Queen Sheba is a funny, witty , and cool host keeping a great flow for the night. My only issue is the food. Its not that good and the rinks are watered down so go somewhere else before you go for the show .

The Vibe is Everything, Mistakes Happen.

By Coco-Chanel Jones |

I've been going to Apache for 10 years now, to see the growth from their first location to now is amazing. The Vibe is super Amazing. Love the music and the environment. My only complaint--- I reserved a table for My date and I on a Saturday Night. We got sidetracked trying to help a group in the parking lot, so we ended up arriving inside at 9:45pm. We were told that they give a one hour grace period to hold table reservations (the event started at 9pm). However when we got there our table was given away-- and we were told who ever was in charge did not do due diligence of reservation protocol. That was disappointing. However, we were gifted back our refund and still was able to get a table in a duct off area, where my date and I could enjoy the vibes and still engage with each other. Our server was indeed very pleasant . I do understand mistakes happen, so my only critique for an establishment like this would be to make sure they give a full hour grace period to their patrons and/or keep the reservations person accountable of doing their job correctly. All in All, My date and I still had a good time

Lauryn Hill Tribute Night

By KNicole |

Great building small but good vibe. Unfortunately the night was not great there was only one waitress for every 100 ppl and a packed house. Ordered food but somehow they forgot. Do not go on a busy night!

First Timer to Open Mic

By ourgreenbranch |

For my wedding anniversary, I surprised my husband by performing a poem that I wrote for him. It was my first time ever performing poetry in front of an audience, and I can honestly say that I'm so glad to have performed at Apache Cafe. Queen Sheba was fantastic and crowd was very supportive & welcoming. We had dinner prior to stopping by Apache, so I can't speak on the food, but according to the other reviews, I feel like I missed out.

Great Time!

By TLinds |

We went for Dinner & A Date. We had an awesome time! D'maestro performed & he did an excellent job. There was a poet and another singer. I can't remember their names but they did awesome too. The venue is small but it wasn't so small that you felt crowded. We reserved a table for 2 online for $25 & paid $15 each for admission. There is a $10 minimum per person per table. I ordered the jerk wings. They were good. I had a strawberry drink it was good as well. They opened promptly at 9 & the show started on time. Great service good vibes good people. I will be going back.

Exciting, innovative concept in this space

By Lynn A |

What a great concept for this space. We're really looking forward to the drag show to resume, like they had at blackbirds. Would gladly buy an eventbrite ticket for an exciting, innovative performance.

Awesome jerk wings!

By Jeri C |

I came with a group of friends for the monthly open mic night. Some of the artists were really good! It was standing room only so we had to stand at the bar. The drinks are good but the jerk wings stole the show. They were deliciously seasoned and very tender. Meat was falling off the bone!

small local friendly and intense

By Margarett J |

great local venue for music, culture, and food. loud but that was ok, friendly but not annoyingly so. i'll be back next time i'm in town to see what they bring. serious fun.

A dying breed

By Titilayo4u2 |

Hubby and I visited here on Christmas Eve. There were about 100 people there and the building looked to comfortably hold up to 150/175. The venue is small, quaint, cozy. Queen Sheba was hosting the evening; it was open mic night. She was excellent - had a great personality and flair. Our waitress was great. The performers ranged the gamut. We had appetizers - the jerk chicken - hubby loved it because he loves spicy. I had the chicken and shrimp quesadilla. It was good. The best part of this venue is the ambience. It's a small, hole in the wall kinda-place with great vibes, laid back crowd. It's a place where artists can come and be free to try, free to share their art. The DJ - DJ knowdat (I think) was AWESOME! She connected with what each artist brought and play snippets that supported the artists' tone, message or style. She chose great music. I wish there were dancing after the performers, even if just for an hour or so. That would have been great to end the evening. If you're old school, either in age or heart, and love spoken word artists - great venue to try. They also had an artist creating a painting over the course of the evening and then auctioned off the painting. I would definitely return.

Too Small and Too Expensive

By Msflaire |

They need to remodel, not enough seating, live entertainment is great. A great watering hole for locals and visitors who enjoy great live music, but their food and drinks are way to expensive. 2 item minimum to sit.

Best brunch

By Elizabeth K |

Sunday when there was over an hour wait on all the highest rated brunch places, this place was a gem! Best food, live music, staff. It’s perfectly off the beaten path and eclectic. Can not say enough good things

Interesting Place

By Ciara L |

Enjoyed the performances, the food wasn't too bad either. It was a interesting little place to visit. Ended up going to see a friend do spoken word and really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe.

Saturday Morning

By Derstoh |

Colorful atmosphere. Food in small portion but filling. Waitress was very full with explaining the menu and friendly. No waiting to be seated.

Never again

By Rosalinda R |

My girl and I walked in and the host took a phone call while we were asking her questions, then walked outside to continue her call. We were left standing there. There was another young lady and a guy behind the bar, no one said a word to us. The advertisement on Eventbrite said live soca, basically live Caribbean vibes type of music. That was not the case. There was a networking event taking place. The food was good, although some of it was served in a white ceramic cup. At the end, when the bill came, they charged an 18% service fee! Then had the nerve to add gratuity at the button. What was the service fee for??? Then wanted to add tip??? The bill was $130 for some basic dinner and small drinks. There was no vibe at all. Will never go back there again. We should have followed our first mind and left.

AWESOME OPEN MIC!

By Stephanie W |

My husband is a spoken word/hip-hop artist who has traveled all over the United States & Canada. We were in Atlanta from of 9/17/17-9/24/17! We REALLY enjoyed Apache Cafe! My husband performed, and did a great job. The food was EXCELLENT, and the female DJ was amazing! We met some REALLY cool people, and look forward to going back.

Awesome

one of the best Cafe's and very good show on the night that I was there. Would recommend the Jerk chicken.

Plantains on Point

By Tomeka M |

I love plantains and hands down this place has the best plantains ever. It's a nice quaint little lounge. Not enough space for the price. But, i will be visiting again.

Not bad at all!

By DrMom |

This place was a surprise! My daughter found online and we followed after a trip to the aquarium! Can’t say I wasn’t a little worried by the eclectic decor. But the food and service were good.

Chill Spot

By Kristin R |

A friend and I stopped in late night after going to the Janet Jackson concert. We were hungry and this place was close. We arrived and were able to sit immediately. They had an event going on with poets and singers. I think it was an open mic night. The first thing that I tried to order was out, so I settled for salmon. It was pretty good. I also really enjoyed the performances. I could see myself visiting this place regularly. It had a vibe. It seems like a place for the art crowd. It is a cool place for a date night or to meet friends.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!

By Ashli H |

This is a very relaxing and chill environment. The Authentic Caribbean food is as good as the local talent. I love it because no one was smoking in there! --Be careful where you park. ~Ashli H.

Love this place.

By trainstar5 |

My wife and I visited this place on a Wednesday, what a great time we had. Great live music and atmosphere. The drinks were good also the jerk wings. Overall, this place is the best. The singers and rappers that night were amazing. Art Terrell was the MC and even producer Jazze Pha, stopped by with a few of his artists. One of the sax players of the band Culture Club stopped in after their show at The Fox, that night. It isn't the biggest place around, but full of great music. a must place for entertainment. Such a great time so we will definitely go again & again.

Fabulous

By jchantelmusic |

I go to this place often to perform and the staff is always professional and the sound is great definitely a fan

If you love Open Mics, Art and Food at the same time!

By Lazina F |

I have visited this place frequently, I have to say Hands down they have some of the best Jerk wings every...super spicy so if you can't handle the heat, don't order. Get it with french fries and their amazing jalapeño cornbread..yummy. Its a bar and its patrons are usually the artsy/hipster types. You can usually catch live music just about any night and Monday's they do a live model where you can come and take photos, paint the muse.
