Best BBQ I’ve ever had

By Donutquest |

I think this is the best BBQ I’ve ever had. And some of the friendliest servers and bartenders ever. They were clearly and rightfully proud of the food. The brisket is slow cooked for 20 to 24 hours. Very high quality meat. The pulled pork tacos had a Cuban rub with just a touch or coffee. Never would have guessed that ingredient. The rub gave a subtle hint of spice to the pork that was delightful. The plantains had some brown sugar on them, making them just that much better. Oh, and the tortillas were also among the best too. They held up well to the moist brisket without falling apart or having that excessive lard taste many tortillas have. Finally, very tasty cornbread baked in a clever mold. A memorable meal.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Apocalypse BBQ in Kendall is an absolute gem. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and full of great energy—perfect for enjoying incredible food. The BBQ is outstanding: flavorful, perfectly cooked, and clearly made with care and passion. The service truly takes the experience to another level, especially Alexa. She was amazing—friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcomed from start to finish. Her positive attitude and professionalism really stood out and made our visit unforgettable. Amazing food, great vibes, and exceptional service. Highly recommend, and definitely ask for Alexa!

Fantastic food and service! Best BBQ!

Apocalypse BBQ deserves 10/10 stars for the amazing hospitality and delicious Southern-style smoked meats and sides with a Miami twist by the wonderful Jeff and Laura, the owners who went out of their way to take such good care of our group of 8 friends last Wednesday at lunch. We were all very impressed by their heartfelt energy. I love their cozy diner which added to the hominess of the experience of Southern style cooking. We all ordered a lot of different dishes because we arrived hungry and wanted to try everything. It smelled so good inside as we waited for our meals to be ready. The place was not packed last Wednesday so we didn't experience any long waits. Timing is everything. Our food came out within a reasonable time. We were all excited as the dishes were laid out on our table by Daniel, our super attentive server with the nice smile. He is definitely an asset to the Apocalypse diner. Here are the delicious items that we all ordered and highly recommend: Cafecito Ribs, Pulled Pork, Brisket & Cheese Empanadas, Pulled Pork Empanadas, Brisket, Loaded Mac n Cheese, Mac n Cheese, Baked Beans, Corn Bread, Elote Corn, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Toast, and probably something else that I have missed. We sat in the back by the full bar and had a blast. We were all full and couldn't even think about dessert. So we got 3 freshly made and pulled out of the oven chocolate chip cookies to take home. Omg, they were so soft and delicious! This luncheon was one for the books and we will regroup here again before too long. I wanted to mention that there wasn't any signage out front to find the diner but we found it anyway because Alfredo was in our group and has been there many a time. There is a large parking lot and you will see the BBQ pits and the diner. The diner is easily accessible, no stairs or steps to worry about. The diner itself is comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. You will be very happy that you came here for their fabulous BBQ meals. They do not take reservations at this time so plan accordingly.

Awesome bbq drinks and good folks

This place is awesome! Just visited the new location. The food and the service: awesome. But here’s the deal: you’re gonna wait some. They have a very good text system and they got us in when they said they would (45 mins but we were there early) but the service and the food make it worth the while. Brisket is amazing! The corn bread is awesome! The burgers are special! And the mixed drinks are terrific! I love this place and everyone else does to.

Good but expensive

Finally tried this place. Its been very popular for years but have never made it out. We waited 45 mins (which isn't bad I heard) and the place inside is very nice. The food is very expensive and everything is a la cart. The best things they have is the cookie and the corn bread. The brisket is good and tender, not great. The burger is ok, prefer others for sure. We would go again if the wait is 15 mins max. Not worth the price. Limited menu too.

Amazing BBQ place!

I had never been before to Apocalypse BBQ, but one of my best friends raved about it. And boy was she right! When we got there, it was pretty busy for dinner already. We spoke with the hostess, and she took my friend's information to text him when a table was ready. She estimated about an hour and a half, but we were lucky and got in a bit sooner than that. We were a group of 5 friends and ordered the bacon brisket, wings, cornbread to start. Everything was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Wild Boar 2.0, which had a kick to it from the cowboy candy, but it was so yummy. I was very surprised I finished everything, as they are moderate portion sizes. We did share some food like the mac & cheese, plus some other sides and I would highly recommend going back. I'm hoping to visit again for lunch with another friend soon! I was also very happy with the service. We had Nat and a new server working our table, and she was very personable. She made sure we always got refills and were enjoying the food.

Get there early!!!

Arrive when they opened and they already had a decent line forming to sample their BBQ, a very promising sign. They’ve recently moved to a new space and I think the size will definitely help them share their dishes more! We were sat pretty quickly and our waiter explained the menu and gave us suggestions. We built a platter to sample their cafecito ribs, pulled pork, and brisket as well as orders of Mac and cheese and fun, skull shaped cornbread. My personal favorite were the ribs (and I’m not typically one to order them). The seasoning was perfect, not overly strong, and they were tender and meaty. The brisket was also very good; our least favorite was the pulled pork, which was still decent but more fat than we typically get when ordering it. The mac and cheese is spicy and gooey! Loved the skull cornbread…the drizzle of honey makes it even better…I’d love to see them offer a spicy option with jalapeños and the honey! While a little pricier than some local spots, the quality was high and the waiter we had was excellent. Looking forward to a return visit on a future Miami trip!

Worth the wait-definitely!

Apocalypse BBQ is absolutely delicious! The brisket is amazing, the pulled pork is tender and full of flavor, and the Cafecito ribs were outstanding. Do yourself a favor and get a platter so you can sample a few of their tasty offerings—everything is worth trying. Logan made our first visit feel extra special with great service and hospitality. Pro tip: check their website before you go to get on the waitlist. We’ll definitely be back! 🔥🍖

Disappointed couple

By James M |

As a first time customer along with my friend, the ribs are highly overpriced as they cost $17 per quarter of a rib so a whole rack of rib cost $68 and they were not even that tasty, it was lacking flavor. Our server disappeared a few times when I received my bill it was $112 for a whole rack of ribs and two sides. The Taste is decent at best but nothing to write home about so I would not recommend this place it's just too overpriced and very crowded.

Best BBQ in town

By Frank G |

WOW, the drive to Kendall and the 30 min wait was 100% worth. I loved everything from my experience at Apocalypse. The ambiance was cozy and kind of dark. I liked it. I appreciate the fact the owner is literally going table by table engaging with customers and being appreciative of the business. Hands down! It was a hot afternoon so I had to start with a drink. We had their atomic passion and the flamed guava. Both were well crafted but the flamed guava was the icing on the cake. Perfectly balanced for sweetness, acidity, smokiness and spiciness. It’s mouth watering, for sure. For the appetizers, we had the skull-shaped corn bread, wings and empanadas. While the corn bread with hot honey on top was pretty fun, the wings and empanada were my favorite, specially the empanadas, the brisket empanada was one of the best empanadas I have ever had. The pulled pork and goat cheese was super delicious too but I think the meat was too compressed which made it a bit dry, but it had so much meat in, pretty good actually. The coleslaw was refreshing and the perfect complement for the ribs which were juicy, coming off the bone nicely. The BBQ sauce was nicely balanced, the perfect level of sweetness, savory, smokiness. All in all great bbq ribs. I wish they open a location closer to downtown, that will be a success for sure. Meantime, I have an excuse to drive all the way to Kendal now.

Great BBQ

This place is very good and one of the best barbecue places that we’ve been to. It has a new location which is 8695 SW 124 Ave, Miami Fl 33183 and was originally difficult to find because they had just moved this past week. Although we had our personal favorites, everything that we tried was very good and it was a very satisfying meal. All the greeters and waitresses were all very friendly, and the owner even came out and asked us and others how we were enjoying our meals, which was a nice touch.

Best BBQ Brisket in town! Well worth the wait!

By Captain Charles G |

After several months since they've opened and impatiently waiting for the opportunity to dine here I finally got my chance today. And wow may I say it was worth the wait. I tried their beef brisket sandwich and it was the best I've ever had. It literally melts in your mouth. It was so good I decided to buy a pound to go. And don't forget to try the atomic passion agave tequila mixed drink. It's Smoky flavor is the perfect compliment to go with the barbecued beef brisket. This is a must try kind of place. Thank you Freddy behind the bar!
