Had high hopes

By gondekp |

We want for pre dinner cocktails and have been seeking out places specializing in mixology when we travel. The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. Orange velvety booth seats, older style, dark, intimate. We each had a drink, eventually. Our server came by introduced himself. We got water right away. We said we needed a minute and he didn’t return for maybe 15 minutes. The cocktail menu had a lot of interesting options and I like the way it was organized. We also got some small bites which were underwhelming. We wanted to order a second round of drinks before we had to leave for our dinner reservations. Unfortunately we weren’t able to find our server again so we ran out of time. The drinks we did have were ok. In a situation like this, there is always the risk of ordering wrong. I had a pretty straightforward option, a version of an old fashioned. My wife had beet cocktail (she loves beets). She said the cocktail was good but their was a goat cheese foam she wound up removing. Overall it just wasn’t a great experience, wasn’t bad or anything like that, but we’d try to find a different place next time.

Fun and creative drinks

The drinks are creative and have weird but somehow matching ingredients. My favorite is millions of peaches but there are plenty of other great options. The bar has pretty low lighting with lots of smoke and is speak easy bar. Definitely a cool spot for a evening date or for a drink with friends after a long day.

I had an incredible time with my sister and husband. The cocktails were fun and an experience in itself. I would highly recommend.

Eclectic and Cool

Came here for a date with my girlfriend and it was a blast. We had tried to go a couple of times but because they only do reservations in person, we would show up too late, as the waiting list fills up pretty quickly, but was the anticipation worth it! It is a very small and intimate venue which we liked, very plush and suave, and the staff was great. Bartenders made great recommendations and had great conversation, and the candle stick dessert was out of this world. If you're looking for a cool date night in which the experience is as good as the drinks, look no further!

Apothecary is a beautiful cozy bar where you enjoy beautiful cocktails and light bites with your friends and loved ones. Apothecary is located at Greenville Ave near to adjacent to rye and high bar. It is decent place where you like the ambience and so as service. They have limited sitting so i suggest you can grab your sitting soon or can make prior reservations. Cocktails are perfect, food is delicious. Staff is courteous and well behaved. I have visited apothecary along with friends and enjoyed the evening. we have ordered cocktails and food and enjoy every dig of it. Scorpio is must try cocktails and meat balls is must try food. Vegetarian options: they have good light bites Parking: you can park nearby as they have street parking too.. i suggest park nearby starbucks its in front of the bar.

Shocking receipt message.

I visited Apothecary with friends on Friday, July 12th, with reservations for 5:30 pm. We were promptly greeted and seated in the bar's back corner when we arrived. As an African American group, we noticed that we were the only people of color in the lounge, including staff, when we arrived and left. The service was good, and our server explained the menu items and provided recommendations. However, our experience took a disturbing turn when we received our receipt. Typed next to the 'Server name' section was "Let my people go." This phrase is widely recognized as being associated with slavery. It is also a known Negro spiritual, making us feel upset and targeted because of the color of our skin. When we asked the hostess about this phrase, she stated, "That's the server's name in the back." We found this explanation hard to believe and deeply inappropriate. I have contacted the manager regarding this issue and am still awaiting a response. While the food and drinks were satisfactory, the incident with the receipt left us feeling sad, angry, disrespected, and discriminated against. I hope management addresses this serious concern promptly.
