Wait was 20 minutes for a table which was fine BUT when we went in there it was 80% empty!! The male server was friendly enough but when we said we needed longer he just leaned over the leaner at the end of our table waiting for a good five plus minutes until he gave up. So awkward!! One of my kids had WAY MORE fries on his plate than me who ordered the same meal. My other son asked for double fries as his sides & got broccoli & mashed potatoes! Tenders meant to come with honey mustard sauce it came with ranch. No dessert offered, the bill was bought out. No prices for drinks on the drinks menu!! Ordered a frozen strawberry Margarita got a lime one. Restrooms were filthy, stuff all over the floor!! So many lazy staff just standing around doing nothing. Asked for seat by window when first arrived & the guy said he see if he could but then we were seated in the middle. Asked to sit in empty seats by window but told we couldn't as 5th person couldn't sit on end due to fire restrictions so she sat on end in middle, ridiculous! Joined as a member to get free appetiser & greeter said no prob just tell your server. We did & he showed us on the menu which ones we could choose from BUT then he asked his manager who said nope, no free appetiser until your NEXT visit. So furious!! Meals were not impressive for the price. First & last visit to Applebee's!!

This Appleby's is located right down on fisherman's ward overlooking Alcatraz and on a clear day you can see the Golden Gate Bridge ~ be sure to ask for a windows seat. You can also see street performers and people walking by The restaurant is on the 3rd floor with stairs or an elevator. The first thing I noticed when we received our menus was that there was no prices listed for soda's or any other drinks. I sure like to know my Diet Coke isn't going to be $12.00 before ordering one. We asked the waitress and didn't have a clue, nor did she care or offer to get a price. We ordered 2 of the triple bacon cheeseburgers ($12.95) which was only 1 patty and 2 pieces of bacon? What was the 'triple'?? Service was quick and the meal was typical Appleby's. If your down at Fishermans warf, there is a huge selection of restaurants. Appleby's has a great view and food was good.

This was my first time at an Applebees. I'm not a big fan of what I call bar food, but it's Fisherman's wharf in San Francisco, so it's slim pickings. I paid $32.50 for a plate of pasta and a lemonade. I think my problem is that I became invisible the minute I walked in. There was only one other table occupied, but it took 5 minutes to bring me a menu, 5 minutes to ask me about a drink, then 5 minutes to bring me food. I finished my drink soon after the food arrived, but I never got a refill. I looked around, tried to get a server's attention, lifted up my empty glass, waved, but nothing worked. I was invisible. Finally the server came and I asked for a refill, but by the time she came back I was ready to leave. So, not much to drink with my food, then I waited so long I didn't need the refill. The manager asked how everything was, and I told her it was poor. She said okay, and walked away. Didn't ask why because apparently she didn't care. If the manager doesn't care, you don't have a prayer.

Good to have a meal that is not an overloaded plate. Had a grilled chicken breast with choice of 3 veg. @$14. Plate size was just enough compared to other meals I have had in US that were overloaded with chips. Big eaters may not find it enough but I am sure there are other option on the menu.

Shame this restaurant is in a fantastic location close to the pier. Unfortunately, the restaurant looks tired and untidy. On the day we visited there were limited staff available so we were told that we could not eat on the balcony. We were then told the specials were not available - we stayed 5 minutes and decided to leave

This restaurant was walking distance from our hotel (Zoe’s) so we found ourselves dining here one evening. It was not special but it was predictably efficient, the service was fast, the food choices were more than adequate, and the food itself was tasty.

Travelling with 6 people can be costly for food. We were looking for something a bit more reasonably priced then the other places near by. We should've paid a bit more to have a great experience and quality food. The restaurant was almost empty at 7 pm, were were seated promptly. The waitress was not very attentive considering how empty it was. The food was average, at atmosphere was old. For what we paid we were all a bit disappointed. At the end of our vacation we remembered this a fail.

After an evening hop on hop off bus tour, all I wanted was a hot drink and a snack. They had no tea. Good thing I carry my own tea bags! The bathrooms were horrible. The surfaces were sticky and only one stall was working. I'd have gone somewhere else, but the walk from where we were dropped off & what was open was too far for my husband's bad hip.

3 years ago I gave this restaurant a poor review. Today this place improved 200%, now the service and food is execulent. I always try to return to a restaurant, after a few years, they really did a great turn around. I will definitely eat there again.

Would never go there again. The price-performance ratio is not right at all. There are so many better restaurants nearby, e.g. Becco, highly recommended.

Was visiting from MN ~ Joanna your new manager is amazing. Just wanted to give a shout out to her , she was all over helping & doing everything ~ great hire Impressed !!!!

We love Applebee so it was on our list to do. My husband ordered a burger without cheese well done, bevause he asked for it well dine it took a bit longer and we were happy to wait. Burger arrived with cheese on it so we sent it back, in less than 5 minutes a 'new' burger arrived with no cheese.... I had a quick look and it turns out they had just picked the majority of the cheese off and sent it back out to us... thank goodness I noticed the bit stuck at the side tjat the missed!! Never again!!

Nice restaurant lots of space inside food was good service was good prices reasonable would call again choices of meats and fish on the menu

I was surprised at how expensive the food was. We had two kids meals, a lunch special, neighbourhood nachos, french onion soup and bacon cheeseburger. I thought I ordered the chicken bacon burger and the server offered to exchange it, but I said it was ok. The soup was delicious and had lots of cheese. The nachos were also good. The kids enjoyed their meals but I found the burger a little dry. With tax the burger alone cost $20... which surprised me. Would we go back... I could take it or leave it. If you’ve been to Applebee’s before you know what you are going to get. Our server was really attentive and nice.

Food was not great and staff were very slow. Its not like it was a busy night. It had turned cold enough outside but the aircon was still on full blast. You had to eat quickly.

In the heart of Fisherman’s Wharf (with a view), good variety of food options. Food we ordered was yum.

I visited here while staying in San Francisco for a conference. The Applebee’s menu is somewhat predictable, but includes s m wild favourites. Worth a visit if you are in the area

You would think a chain like Applebees is pretty constant in quality etc, where ever you visit them. This is, however, the worst one I ever been to. Our waitress got pretty much every order wrong, but was at least consistent as she got all neighbouring table orders wrong as well. Did she understand english? On top of it she forgot to deliver all cutlery, poured drinks over the tables etc. Other waiters/waitresses ran around and tried to figure out what food to deliver to what table, a real mess. Menu is OK and the same as in other Applebees, that”s where the similarity ends. A terrible place, go anywhere else!

This Applebee's is far and above most in the country, the view is amazing! Prices are great, especially the happy hour ! Best deal in San Francisco.

Nice meal with great value. Loaded fajitas were the bomb enough for three and the dollar ritas was a nice addition. Brownie bite dessert was a great as a meal topper.

Had dinner in Applebee’s during my recent trip to SF! Ordered a starter and main and 2 Pepsi - $45. Ordered chicken quesadillas which came with no chicken- pointed this out to the waiter who brought it back to the kitchen. My son was almost finished his meal before the correct dish was brought to me, no apologies were given for mistake or delay!

It was busy and we had to wait a while for a seat. It was also super loud (as is often the case in such establishments). But there was a delicious cocktail. The food was also okay (with a surprisingly good beer). Price was over $100 for 2. (Cocktails and wine are certainly expensive in the US, beer less so)

The food was fine and the location is fantastic. It was just soooo slow! Probably understaffed. The waitresses seemed to have too many tables to manage. I imagine that it would always be busy in this particular location. Lots of those explorer passes and city cards have discounts. We used our passes for 10% off.

We decided to try Applebee's , as it was pouring of rain. The food was good , service was the worse I have ever experienced I was given the bill BEFORE we finished our lunch and the waitress took away the check so we couldn't give feedback

Rude staff - don’t know prices for any drinks. Food horrible - took half an hour between one person getting their meal. To the second one and was cold when arrived.

This particular branch really let me down. I love this chain and the promise of sea views whilst eating seemed a big bonus. The sea view was great. The food was ok. The service was terrible. We did not get asked if we wanted drinks just given water....big loss to them coz I was in a cocktail mood. But even worse we were given the bill whilst I was still eating my main. Therefore we left a minimum tip and will mot be returning ever especially with so much nearby competition.

We ate here twice because it was close to our hotel. The first night, we ordered the 2 for $25 which came with 2 entrees and an appetizer. There were 4 of us so each pair of us ordered the 2 for $25. We waited a long time for the appetizers. In the meantime, 2 guys were seated at the table next to us. The second they ordered, they were served 2 appetizers that appeared to be ours. They seemed confused, the server seemed confused, we mentioned that those were probably ours but the server ignored us. We then asked about the status of our appetizers. The server checked and determined they were ours. The 2 guys had almost finished the appetizers and the server just ripped the plate of wings right off the table. She then proceeded to tell them they had to pay for it because they ate it. Never mind the fact that we told her before she put them down that they were ours. There were not other issues that night. The second night we were seated and we waiting a long time to order. Once we ordered, we ordered the same thing as the night before. The appetizers came quickly, my family's food came quickly. My food never arrived. My family ate their entire meal. We mentioned to 2 different people I didn't have my food. We finally got up and found our server and let her know and she went and checked on it and finally brought my food. When my food arrived, it had ranch dressing on it. I ordered an Oriental salad, that doesn't come with ranch dressing. I asked about that and she said I asked for ranch dressing. Then I mentioned, the ranch dressing was for my daughters chicken tenders. The service here is terrible. Your main server never comes around. The servers you see bringing the food are different servers. You ask for things and never get them. Don't bother going here.

Had to wait over an hour for our food. We were constantly told it was on its way every 10 minutes. In the end we were told about short staff, perhaps if that was first explained the experience may have been more pleasant. Food was average, overpriced for what was delivered. If we had ordered hot food, but we ordered salads may have accepted the reason behind the delay. The staff could learn to smile and improve customer service.

Visited this restaurant during our stay in San Francisco. The place was nice with lovely views over Fishermans Wharf. Only slight challenge we had was the waitress didn’t understand our drinks order (which was a bit strange we are Scottish and she was American so normally not a problem). Food however was lovely with very large portions. Would go back.

First night in San Francisco ate dinner here and it was lovely staff very polite and friendly food was amazing clean and tidy and not that busy quick service food hot to the table would recommend for all

Great option to eat next to FISHERMANS WHARF, location is nice to hang out with friends and family. The neighborhood is easy to walk around and the main attractions of San Francisco. If you are looking for a restaurant opens late hours this is a good option for you. You can enjoy games and try the goods meals available. The variety will suit all tastes for sure. I usually eat Brunch Burger, that's yummy.

We stumbled upon this upper level restaurant because we wanted to use a clean, no-line waiting bathroom, which they had. The killer view is spectacular. You can sit up on the third level outside, have cocktails and some food.

Went to AP’s in San Fran in the fisherman’s wharf area. Really disappointed. Door staff disappeared when we approached (they did spot us) and then when we got to restaurant level the staff told us to go back down! When we finally got seated we didn’t get an apology or anything. Took ages to get menu and then for waiter to return to take order. Food was average at best - left 15% tip begrudgingly!

Visited previously with no cause for complaint. This time was different though. We ordered chicken fajita roll ups which were stone cold. My wife's cutlery was dirty with food particles clearly apparent (not just water marks) I complained to our server ( who was very helpful and friendly) who then spoke to the manager. Even though this conversation took place less than 10 feet away from our table the manager didn't even bother to speak to us. I paid for our drinks ($18.00 for two beers) before leaving. Our server apologized and that was it. This place has a great view of fishermans wharf (inc Boudains Bakery-where they cook your food properly!!!!!) but that's all. Overall service and food was poor and didn't reflect previous encounters with this restaurant chain.

Appetizers were horrible at best! Expect more from a chain! Spinach @ artichoke was horrible! Wings??????????????????

Tried 3 days in a row to get a certain dish, was told it was sold out, on the 3rd day asked at the door and was told yes they had it so sat at the table , server came to take the order to told once again they didn't have it, chose a different meal, when asked what sauce I wanted they didn't have the one I chose

Great location with view to the waterfront. The service was fine and the restaurant is large and not too crowded. The problem is the food quality, when you pay 20 dollars for hamburger you may expect reasonable quality (at least). Unfortunately, I got very poor quality hamburger (as was reflected in taste texture and my bad feeling afterward). : (

Called in for early dinner, about 5.30 pm on a weekday, expecting it to be quiet then; actually it really was. Asked for any table for two so was highly surprised to be told it would be around 40 minutes wait. Looked around restaurant and literally more than half tables were empty and set up ready. Questioned the greeter and he told us the servers were too busy - doing what???? They either need to employ more staff or make sure the ones they do employ are capable of coping with a less than half full diner. First visit to an Applebee's in the US and it will be the last.

We were looking for a place for a nice family dinner and this Applebee's was wonderful. We checked in and was told it was a 20 minute wait and they would text us. They texted us in about 10 minutes and we were given a nice window seat with a nice view. We used a YELP app and was offered a free appetizer so we accepted. We had Shrimp, Chicken, and Burgers and they were all very good and the kids were happy. Drinks were good and all in the price was decent. We were impressed with this Applebee's.

We arrived back in our hotel FW a bit late after touring a different part of the city. Unfortunately it was after 9pm so our choices were In-and-Out or Applebee's. It felt like an afterhours place but we were able to get some food and the service was okay. Standard menu that you can find anyplace in the US. It did the job.

went here on our last night food was very good well presented and hot. The staff were very efficient and friendly. ideal for family as more like a diner than a restaurant but still worth a visit.

Nice service, good food, good atmosphere. We liked the burger and baby back ribs, food for children was also of good quality. Almost everything was good, except for chicken at starter, to much acidity, same with flame grilled vegetables. The acidity was just not my flavor. Milkshake for my son had a bad chemical vanilla The milkshake was not to the standards of the other stuff, not by far!

It’s an Applebee’s so you know the kids will love it. Lovely views of the bay and friendly staff make this the best one I’ve been to.

We have been here twice and each time we had to wait while seeing at least 5 free tables. The service was always slow, and we always got the first dish after the main course. The food was bad and the steak even smell bad.

So much went wrong during our family dinner in this place that we actually went away laughing in the end. Our waitress consecutively forgot us, mixed up orders with neighbouring tables, swept down drinks and other things from the tables when moving around and argued with her collegues. We never got precisely what we ordered and the food we finally got was half-cold and so 'chewy' hardly the cutlery could get through it. Oh, that is once we GOT some cutlery, a good five minutes after the food finally arrived...

Good food and a good location. Not far to to walk if you're around Fisherman's Wharf or any of the piers.

Very good restaurant, lots of plentiful and good choices and they serve late. The restaurant is not closed, it is the 13th and it is open.

Fisherman's Wharf is dead at night and all the restaurants shut early! Not Applebees! It was one of the only ones left open when we arrived. Had a pretty ordinary meal, nothing special. The crunchy Shrimp was quite good.

The view is spectacular. food is average, fish and chip are very deceiving. frozen fish patties... in a place here seafood is suppose to be authentical and great... I was jalous of my husband steak... nice and friendly service.

Right on the water in the main Pier/Fishermans Wharf area. Very friendly server. The food was a bit pricey, but whatever.

My wife is gluten free and such limited in some restaurants for choice. On arrival was shown menu and options for my wife. We decided to stay and had a good view of the pier area in front. Food and drinks were reasonably priced and we all finished off the mains we choice with nothing left behind. Would recommend the Chicken Pasta Alfredo. Overall a good experience, good location and good customer service 👍

Food chain with lots of options to order. Big restaurant with nice views, nice location. Had the ribs, which were really tasty and portion was big

Restaurant was very busy due to a basketball game on TV. Atmosphere was great, service great we were invited to sit at bar until a table became available, & became involved in the game. When they realised we were tourists we were given a table at the window with a view of Fishermans wharf. Service was great! Prices excellent!

The only place on Pier 45 that's open until around midnight and with Happy Hour apps after 9PM. The entrances for their 2nd floor restaurant (stairs and elevator) is on the side street (Taylor St,)

My girlfriend and I ate here after a long day walking around Fisherman's wharf and we were happy to find an Applebee's as we have had many a good meal in other Applebee's around the country. We were surprised to have to show ourselves to the lift and not receive any sort of welcome or acknowledgement from the employee at the lift. We were then shown to our table with a good view of the shopping area outside. Despite the food being good (saving the rating from being a 1 star) as we had put our knife and fork down on our plates the check was placed on our table by our waitress who had previously forgotten our drinks and had to be reminded. No mention of dessert at all. We were very let down as we felt that we were being rushed out of the restaurant for no reason which was thoroughly disappointing.

We popped in one evening for a meal. After a wait, we awere seated. After a bit more of a wait, we were served. The place was about half full and the service was okay. Our server was friendly, but rushed off here feet which affected service. The food was not too bad. We actually got vegetables. No prices on the sodas.

Bought me the wrong meal to begin with and even after I agreed to just take what was served to me it was raw! To make matters worse they still charged me for it! Wasn’t busy either. Avoid!!

We visited this restaurant through our guide via a group trip. The restaurant is upstairs and offers views of the bay and has a large room. However, we had a meal with imposed dish (chicken) and it was not exceptional.

I would not recommend this restaurant. My friend ordered steak that was to be med rare and it had to be sent back. They were overcharged and it took three times to straighten out the bill. My salad was not worth $18.00. The food is overpriced and not great.

There were delicious food in our favorite place. We really enjoyed our meal. Staff was friendly and helpful. We liked Applebee’s in every city of the country. The meals will always tasty. In the last time we ordered mashed potatoes, steak (medium, what kind of steak - I don’t even know because I’m great lover of salads) and Caesar salad.

We were looking forward to a nice juicy steak meal after eating so much fish. However, the steak was over cooked which made it dry and tough.

The food here was very good and we left full and satisfied. The service was good and we got a nice table with a view out over the Main Street and water. For a casual meal at a good price, we were pretty happy.

We ended up eating here on our first night, because we didn't know any better. The food was very average, as was the service. The food was dry and tasteless for the most part. With such a huge number of restaurants to choose from at Fishermans Wharf, we really wish we had gone somewhere else. Avoid.

Visited twice during our trip to San Francisco 1st visit was great, service and food all as expected 2nd visit not so good due to lack of staff and so many empty tables while customers had to wait 29 minutes to get a table? Location is great Prices and portion sizes are good 👍

So on the tablet on the table it advertises endless chicken fingers and rivulets at $12.99, but when you order it’s $17.99 !! One of our party was still eating when the waiter took the rest of our plates away. Order a side of onion rings $3.99 for five of the smallest onion rings ever !!! No chips with my meal, what a nightmare just a disaster ! Give this place a miss !!

Staff were great and it's clean and view is amazing. Our waiter couldn't do enough for us. However on the food, I ordered the Mac and cheese chicken dish and there was hardly any cheese on it and too much honey sauce. More cheese and slightly less sauce and you got yourself automatically a better dish. The sweet honey over powered any of the tiny amount of cheese that was on the plate. The rest of my party seemed to enjoy their food.

It was my birthday. So we chose Applebee's because we had great meals at these restaurants in the USA in the past. We had a great seat right by the window with a view of Fishermen's Wharf. My wife and I ordered the ribs and fries - as we have in the past. Unfortunately, the quality was extremely poor! The ribs were extremely dry and not enjoyable. The fries were sticky. The coleslaw was missing and was not brought until we had finished eating. The "satisfaction inquiries" from the service were "just pretend" - we did not respond to our comments that the quality was not right. Instead, an employee was sent to us who was obviously totally inexperienced and could not handle the complaint. To top it all off, a 20% tip was automatically added to the bill, so we had no influence on that either. The beer tasted very good, but it was also very expensive. All in all, it was probably our last visit to Applebee's... that has had an impact. What a shame.

Dinner was quick and easy. The restaurant was not crowded. The waiter was excellent, and the restaurant was very clean. We enjoyed our dinner and the fact that we could overlook the wharf. It was wonderful.

The restaurant was pretty empty so we were lucky enough to get seated by the window with views over the wharf. Spent most of the time people-watching. The Coke's were huge, our meals of turkey club with fries and fish and chips were fine but nothing special. All very average. No problems but a bit meh. We probably wouldn't make a return trip- just because there's too many other options out there.

We visited on our last night in San Francisco It looked appealing from the outside as it overlooked Fisherman’s Wharf so my wife, 16 year old daughter and myself ventured up on the lifts to sample the experience We were ushered to a table without a view by a polite young lady who asked if we were on vacation and where we were from. I replied “yes for a few days,we’re from England. We felt a little sorry for her because she was a bit embarrassed as she had no idea where that was and had never heard of it.She asked if that was Europe ? We ordered drinks, soft drinks came immediately but the alcoholic drinks (a glass of wine and a beer)came after the meal arrived some 30 minutes later. The place wasn’t busy. The starters arrived and were ok Then the main course I had a Whiskey burger with bacon, burnt bacon, burnt onion rings and crispy burnt fries My wife had pasta which she couldn’t eat And my daughter had a cheese burger with fries a little less crispy than mine. And for all this a pricey bill of £90 and a request for 20% tip My tip to you would be find somewhere else or wait for breakfast Kevin Jones Leek Staffordshire

Not only does this restaurant not cater for vegan diners, vegetarians would struggle here too! Only a few starters would be suitable, when I asked about a vegan/vegetarian option I was told there was a veggie burger available......really? So why isn’t it on the menu? Afraid you’ll offend somebody? The waiter took our order by memory, at first we were impressed, but then our food arrived.....and most of it was wrong. First my “veggie burger” was a pathetic frozen Pattie, clearly just thrown in to cater for us difficult diners, gee...thanks. My friends orders tho resulted in a burger being brought out with no bun......errrrr we want the bun, when it reappeared, a double bacon cheeseburger....it had no bacon, right....just brilliant! My other friend specifically asked for BBQ sauce on her burger and a few other bits, nope...this didn’t happen either, when she asked for the sauce she was bought something that resembled Big Mac mayo, and was told that was the BBQ sauce, again just knocking it out the park being utter rubbish, we’d had enough by this time, quickly ate what food had been presented to us cos we were hungry and left. A handy tip for Applebee’s waiting on staff, write down peoples orders! Oh...and get with the program, offer at least more than one veggie option....and stick it on the menu! I’m sure people won’t mind. 👍🏼

Would write a zero star! Dear management team do better I came in 1hr & 20 mins 9:40pm before the close of the store at 11pm I was told they would be unable to seat me due to no staffing I watched four parties walk out and have 2 parties of 4 before me This makes no sense manager name Adain told me that I could not be seated mind you just walked the room 10 tables 10 tables! Really! He says I can't sit at the bar bc she's serving????? She's not serving! You close at 11! This makes 0 sense I suggest you do better and will be calling corporate in the morning This was uncalled for and beyond disrespectful I just drive for 5 hours to SF only place open and the manager REFUSED to accommodate Let's mention not even aloud to do a Togo! Yes I'm big mad

The food was excellent as ever, as we found at other locations on the east and west coast. What a pity the management is not hands on at this location as we found this place to be the dirtiest we ever came across. Not only there was toilet paper on the hallways leading to the toilet but I found the servers to be more interested in checking their make up on their young faces in the toilets than picking the paper on the hallways. Always there was such huge noise coming from their loud talking in the kitchen area I felt like shouting 'silencio, por favor' - I did not come to this place to listen to their shouting. Our corner table was overlooking the busy street and our waiter was a nice guy who made such a difference. But then came a girl who messed up our order, so we both burst into laughter as we were in no mood for arguing: she was short and fat and with that attitude 'I cannot be bothered much'. So we let her be, pity the management employs such staff as described above. Also we could have asked for the 10% discount mentioned on the Visit SF pass, yet they seemed not to have heard about it so we decided not to push it: there was the wind we had to worry about.

This Applebee’s has a good location. No wait time when we arrived, but it may have been a slow night. Food was good and service great.

We were in San Fran for a week and we went to Applebee's twice while we were there and both times were a really enjoyable experience. The views over Fisherman's Wharf and the Bay were fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really good. I highly recommend a trip to Applebee's if you are in the Fisherman's Wharf area.

The last few times my wife and I have been to the states we always go to Applebee’s as we remember what it used to be when we first came to the USA. Sadly, Applebee’s seems a shadow of its former self, and this restaurant is a good example of this. It has so much space with loads of tables and chairs, but probably no more than 12 tables filled at any one time, and a whole section seems abandoned and unused. The menu possibly reflects this - a bit tired, nothing that stands out, and portions that seem to be diminishing year on year - never order the shot for dessert- it’s tiny, but to their credit the waitress did warn us. In that note, it was the great service by the waitress (and the desserts) that has pushed my score from a 2 up to a 3 !! The dessert menu was excellent and good sized portions - best chocolate fudge cake. Overall an “okay” and a bit short of very good.

Over the years we have dined at Applebees when holidaying in America. Our daughter really wanted to do so again when we were in San Francisco. We ate here twice and both times were disappointing. It no longer felt like a friendly diner, is more a large chain conveyor belt restaurant. The San Francisco one is huge so no atmosphere. Staff were not attentive. Had to chase for drinks and condiments. I don't think we will bother visiting any Applebees when we visit America again.

We are not generally great fans of chain restaurants but, when travelling, we sometimes avail of their consistency and convenience. As chains go, Applebee's is one which we favour. We go to Applebee's most often when in Florida. Seeing this one near Fisherman's Wharf, we thought we'd compare west to east. We were ordering from the lunch menu which seemed to be the same on both coasts. Views are not usually a highlight feature in Florida. This Applebee's had one of the best vistas in San Francisco. This is good. In Florida, the beverages are two for one. Not so at this restaurant. This is not so good. Our meal was what we expected, which is, again, good. We both enjoyed the tomato-basil soup. I had the half club sandwich while my wife had the chicken wrap.

we went in on a Tuesday around 2:30 PM. There was about 3 people at the bar and 4 tables of guests. We saw 5 workers wandering around. First, the elevator wouldnt work, forcing me to have to walk up the stairs after back surgery. Then 18 minutes, yes 18!, later a girl comes to seat the 2 of us. She was rude, snappy and popping her bubble gum as she walked us to a table. She then THREW the menus down and walked off. Not a word. So we begin looking at the menu, which is identical to our applebees back home but each dish is $20 more expensive. No prices on ANY drinks. Anyway, another 23 minutes later we were still waiting to place a drink order after walking the wharf and really needing a drink... no one came. Several workers walked around aimlessly but nowhere near us. We decided to get up and leave. As were leaving the same girl that seated us is standing at the front leaning on the window on her phone twirling her hair. As we walk past, we get a super snotty 'bye then' as she doesnt even look up from her phone. Absolutely the worst possible place to try to go if your visiting the wharf. After that show of professionalism, we wont even go into our own applebees back home ever again either.

My husband and I fancied a drink so visited the bar area and sat outside overlooking the Bay. We ordered a cocktail each which were lovely and refreshing. Expensive though, it cost us over $30 for the 2 drinks!

It was one of the cheaper restaurants at Fisherman's Wharf. Of course, at such a touristy place you always pay higher prieces and don't get good value for money. As we were in hurry, we didn't have a chance to leave Fisherman's Wharf for dinner.

they have tablet menus if you like that, food was well prepared, hot and fresh, staff was friendly, clean facility

Loved the view but honestly that was about the extent of my recommendation. Prices are very steep and my wifes Salmon at $23.95 was a small portion and cold when it arrived. Will not be visiting again.

Fantastic views across Fisherman’s Wharf and the Bay. The food was great - we ordered lunchtime specials. Definitely recommended.

We have eaten at Applebee's in the past and expected a similar food experience at this location. However, that did not happen. My husband and I dined here with our 2 kids. Service was great. The wait staff and hostess was very friendly and efficient, however the food was not good at all. My husband ordered the spinach and artichoke dip (one of his favorites) and it was cold (luke warm at best). We both ordered a 6 ounce steak cooked medium. The steak was cold in the center and it was more cooked rare-medium rare. I couldn't eat it. Maybe we just came on an off day...but we did not enjoy our food here at all!

Standard "Harvester" fayre. Food reasonable, slightly misleading meal deal menu. Clean, airy environment. An abundance of staff, that seem to walk around aimlessly, trying to avoid customers to order! Staff had trouble describing the meals, and needed 2 of them to take the order!

The restaurant is on the third floor above Fisherman's Wharf. Very nice of views to watch things going on there. We were greeted right away, and the wait was very short to get a table. After we got seated, the weight of took our order right away, but then everything was horrible after that. He got our order wrong, and never came back to our table until he gave us the bill. My wife used the restroom, she said it was filthy.

This was one of the better value places to eat near pier 39. However the charges added on still male it quite pricey, like the rest of the area. We both had a nice meal and the portions were good. Staff were reasonably friendly.

Came here for a Friday evening meal. It was surprisingly not super busy, as fisherman’s wharf was so jam packed. We got a table quickly, but service was slow. Our waiter was very friendly. Food was not great. We paid our bill and on our way out asked about a washroom. The person gave so much attitude about it being for paying customers only, acting like we were being granted a favour by being allowed to use it. We are paying customers! Bathroom was so dirty. Three starts are for the location and view- very cool.

I arrived to San Francisco after 9pm. It was around 10 when I reached my hotel. I was super hungry and this place was close to the hotel. That was the only good thing about this visit. Disgusting is all I can say. It took forever to get a drink and even longer for my food to arrive. I had to ask the waitress twice. The food was horrible. I mean frozen food section from the 99 cent store has better food. I will NEVER, EVER visit any of these locations ever again. There were only three people sitting at the bar and it was not busy at all. So there was absolutely no reason for the food to take so long, drink to be so watered down and taste like it can from a trash can.

Went to the Applebees down by the Piers while visiting San Francisco with friends. We had to wait a while from being seated to being able to order, they were not really busy, so not sure why it took so long. We all only ordered dessert. I ordered a dessert, the Butter Pecan Blondie, that I have had many times before where I live. I was pretty disappointed as the cake was super dry. The melting ice cream and drizzled topping could not even help! Although the food left a lot to be desired, the waiter was very nice and friendly.

I have to say the food was nice when it all finally arrived in bits and pieces as the server had screwed up! Service was poor. The venue was very loud. When the bill finally came it was wrong. I wouldn't go back in all honesty!

Chosen by our tour operator, we were not the only group, it is much more canteen than restaurant. Medium service. Quality of the food medium. Gluten free: we had to wait, ask again, wait again... in short, dish served at the same time as the dessert of the others, and dessert to take away after having made 2 boosts ..... Too bad.

We came in with a baby, the place was almost empty(!), however the waitress said there is a couple of minutes of wait to be even seated down! We asked to just seat at a table and get settled down as we are with a baby. She was super rude and unpleasant, didn’t even care and said no. Worst service in the US.

Absolutely shocking place. Wish we didn’t eat there. The food was tasteless, dry and barely warm,. The staff just ignore you and it takes an age to pay, I think they want to keep people in there to make them look popular!! Do yourselves a favour and go elsewhere.

Great location, if you can find the entrance. Having done the Alcatraz tour needed somewhere to eat - the food and service were ok and acceptable, it was probably the cheapest meal of the whole trip. Its a big chain so you get what you expect and it did the job. Can't complain but can always be better.

We came in here after not being able to decided what to eat, neither of us are a fan of the restaurants similar to those over the road where you get forced to go inside so we thought a chain would be a safe bet. How wrong we were. We were told a 20minute wait for a table (despite the restaurant being 1/4 full) so we took a seat at the bar and had a drink, when we were called to our table I asked for the drinks to be transferred to the table so we just had one check. But no that couldn’t be done so we had the hassle of paying a check whilst the door host waited. When we sat we were shown the tablet and thought it was great so we ordered, and then a waiter came over and asked if he could take our order.. Well we just placed an order and then he said “oh i better check it doesn’t always work” good reassurance there. The food took a lifetime to arrive and was below average and the waiter asked how everything was before we even took a mouthful. My friends plate was taken before I had even finished so I had to eat alone. To then have paid two tips for the visit (drinks and then food) is an absolute steal. Would not return.

I've visited previously and it was to a high standard, on this occasion it was good to see standards were to an equally high standard. A wide range of foods and drinks available, great staff who are clearly very hard working and provide excellent service. Well worth a visit & great view overlooking Fisherman's wharf too.

We dined at Applebee's simply because it was 10:00 pm and most other restaurants were closing. Food was good, not great. And, drinks were good. All in all, what you would expect for Applebee's but with tourist trap pricing.

Nice location. Next to Fishermen Wharf. Huge area inside. Music in normal levels which allows discussion. Prices are reasonable. Free wifi. Food was so and so... The stake was ok, not something special... It took sometime for thw main dish to arrive.

It took them an eternity to sit us down and then even longer for anyone to acknowledge us. Once we ordered we never saw our waiter again. I wonder why this place is even open if they don’t have time for their customers

When you are looking for a easy going restaurant with your kids, that is an option. Service was good. The food is average.

Visited with my fussy family and very pleased we chose this restaurant. They were playing the Basketball game on TV so it was a great atmosphere of locals as well. Food was great with some portions ie the nachos very large. Service great as well. Would come back again.

We had eater at Applebee’s in another location and thoroughly enjoyed the Thai Shrimp Salad. We came here especially, as we fancied having the salad again. It was just as enjoyable as it had been previously and we had a lovely view too!

Read some negative reviews before visiting but was pleasantly surprised by both the food and service here. A good budget option in an expensive city - the food was delivered hot and with a smile. Good for a budget friendly option near the Pier.

We called in here late at night as most venue on the Wharf are fish restaurants the restaurant has a cafe atmosphere/fast food. Service was slow and I ordered the 12 oz steak which came as two 6 oz? This is an eatery I wouldn't rush back to as it is overpriced for what is on offer. They offer specials which are limited.

We ate here twice because food the food was excellent and the price was good. Not to mention that all of the staff was super friendly. I highly recommend eating here

Same as any other Applebee's, it was cool that there was an elevator though. lol This Restaurant was very spacious and had a special room for larger parties (a party of 40 came in so that was convenient)

We came here as we all couldn’t decide where we wanted to go. They have a good selection and lots of options for the kids. Pricing is reasonable, it’s a good place to come for good food.

Although they advertise themselves as a place where you can watch nfl games - they really don’t. They had one tv on (muted) and not enough servers. I received attitude from the staff from the moment i walked in. At first i was a bit annoyed with it but after watching the poor bartender working, i realized that she was just overworked. They needed more staff on the floor. Not only was the service mediocre (i blame bad management for that - not the server herself) the food was kind of gross and quite expensive considering the low quality. The only good thing about the place was the 2$ (small) beers. It was my first and last time at Applebee’s.

Stopped in for dinner, and found the service to be great and the food very good. I was particularly impressed with the digital terminals at the table that enabled ordering and paying the bill.

After a very long bike ride around the city we ended up in fisherman’s wharf. Tired and not sure where we wanted to eat we saw Applebee’s and thought why not it will be cheap and easy. The night was a bit of a weird one, as we where there a fight broke out in the bar and two men where smashing the place up. Which made us think shall we leave but then the cops turned up so we thought let’s stay. Our food turned up which took a while and then was ok not great but just ok. And then realized it wasn’t that cheap. So probably wouldn’t come back.

Beautiful on the Bay. Friendly personnel. No line for waiting. The interior looks more like a fastfood restaurant, unlike some other Applebee’s I visited, which were more like a nice bar. Food quality was disappointing, chewy chicken, sauces had too much vinegar and too much sugar, vegatables were over-cooked. I love Applebee’s, but this one in SF is not my favorite.

My husband and I were in San Francisco on holidays and decided to try Applebees for the first time. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table which was not to bad as they have a bar where we had a drink. When we were seated the waitress was polite and took our order my husband had a steak which he said was just melt in your mouth, I had chicken with prawns which tasted ok until I got back to our hotel where I had the most excruciating pains in my stomach that just got worse as the night progressed until the early hours of the morning when the vomiting started. So needless to say I will not be returning to this restaurant chain again.

Since we were traveling and many restaurants serve large portions, we have begun to order dishes to share. This was a perfect choice at this Applebee's. We had a great view of Fisherman's Wharf and were pleased with the service and quality of the food.

Went here a few times while in San Francisco for late night drink. Service was good and eat here once, food was good and staff friendly.

It was Monday and I went to Fishermen's Wharf to see one of my friend working at a restaurant. After my visit, its already 1:00 pm, a time for lunch. All around me as I walked to my car wee crab, seafood, and fish restaurants. I decide for a change. Saw a worker on Taylor Street, hawking for customers. Told her I was hungry. Shen directed me to an elevator. It took me to the 3rd floor of this building for Applebee's! This was during lunch and the lunch crowd was about dozen people eating. The restaurant is huge and can seat over 300 persons. There was also a section were a full service Bar for customers who want to seat and watch sports tv. Anyway, I was directed to a booth. The prime seats were actually next to a spacious, floor to ceiling window and the length of the restaurant. There one can see the San Francisco Bay Bridge, Treasure Island, the Bay, and more. Quite a million dollars view! Once I sat down, the push was for ordering bar drinks. I looked at the menu and there would be suggestions for bar drinks. The menu is very broad, covering hamburgers, sandwiches, pasta, seafood, fusion Asia salads, and wood fired grill for ribs, pork chops and of cause steaks! Instead, I option for their lunch combo for soup and salad or one of its entrees. I ordered French Onion soup and Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad. The soup was ok. Though I have tried French Onion Soup better at Campton Place, Downtown. The salad portion was very petite or small, with a few milky lettuce pieces. The five or six small pieces of chicken were still warm The bill came, and it was $14.74. The server gave me a whole five dollars as change. I then asked why. She stated that Applebee's policy on bills is to round it off as easy to calculate, since servers do not carry changes. My opinion to her was that this is bad customer policy. Taking changes without asking for permission! I received my changes, $0.26 and five one dollar bills. In turn, I tip her and left for the sunny afternoon leaving behind Fishersmen's Wharf this day!

We went here because of our good experience at other Applebee's restaurants. This one is different. It started when we came in and there was no one at the reception. After a few minutes a waitress came and brought it to our table. For some reason the table and chairs next to us were taken away and left us sort of sitting alone in an open area. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed to be in a hurry. Drinks and food came fairly quickly after ordering. Food was OK, but not "wow". Above avarage price for what you get. Prices of beverages are not on the menu, ask before you order to avoid a surprise. We had to pay via a touch screen terminal at the table, which is very impersonal to me. The view over the bay from the 3rd floor where the restaurant is, is beautiful, especially in the evening.

After a day at Alcatraz and Pier 39 we stopped here for Dinner as its a perfect location near the Embarcadero. Its reached by elevator from street level and although the service was slow the meals arrived cooked to perfection. Gluten free options available and lots of meat on the menu.

It was not very busy and the service was ok, the food was not very good.very disappointing for a chain restaurant. So tired of this happening.

The Customer service is the worst by a long way I have experienced in the US during our holiday through 4 different states the lady (I decided to withhold the name) that greeted us at the door didn’t crack a smile just sat us down at our table & walked off no explanation about anything. Our server ( red shirt male ) was FANTASTIC he came over & helped us that was the only positive interaction with any of the staff at Applebee’s. A lady (name withheld again) from the bar bought our drink over no hi, hello just dumped them in front of us & walked off this was mid afternoon & the place was fairly quiet so she wasn’t run of her feet. Do yourself a favour & eat / drink in the many other places in Fisherman’s Wharf unless they employ another 30 staff like our server “Red Shirt Male” unfortunately he didn’t have a name tag on 😕 the others URGENTLY need some customer service training.

The food and service were good. You get a nice view of the bay from the table by the window where we were seated. I'm from a small town midwest and kept getting sticker shock from our bills.

I was not expecting much for a national chain restaurant in the hub of tourisim in the city. The service was excellent and food was above average. Had a great view and a great meal. Kudos!

We went in as a group of 66. Upon entering we were met by a team member with limited English language skills who was rude. Within 20 minutes of arrival all orders were taken and then 10minutes after around 50 of the 66 meals were given out. The food was mediocre and varied considerably in quality. We had team members shouting at our party for food orders, ignoring requests and generally providing poor service. The only positive thing about our meal was that The manager made sure our dietary requirements were met and delivered to our party.

I did not have a good care, and besides the rib was more bone than meat, the attendant said that the rate would have to be compulsory in 18% because there were many people, more if the care was not 18% because I am obliged to Pay this, I pay as much as I think it's worth for the service. Terrible. I paid two fees said that one was from San Francisco and the other and from what? I always ate in san francisco because I live here and never saw these two rates were just one. Really a crap of service and attention.

Went to 2 Applebee restaurant this holiday and they couldn’t of been so different. Albany OR was lovely food, service etc San Francisco one however was the opposite, welcome desk staff did not seem interested, no smile, wasn’t busy, food I’d asked for steak medium, it came rare (if not still mooing) when I eventually caught the waiters eye they took it back and cooked it some more giving me fresh fries at the same time. The steak was now cooked a little more but very rubbery, in the end the manager was eventually located and my meal was removed from the bill. The waiter was pleasant enough and made up for the initial welcome.

After a long stroll, we went there in the evening, and were seated at one of the tables by the window, which gives a good view of the hustle-bustle outside. The staff was helpful, but too busy with several other tables. The Dollar drinks made it worthwhile. Food was good too.

Firstly I have never been to an Applebee’s so l have nothing to compare it to. We went early dinner so wasn’t very crowded. Take your appetite tho. We ordered a entree to share and a main each. Entree was a share and almost filled us to start with. My main was the cheese and Mac with chicken. All yummy, hot and tasty. Husband got ribs which was nice but the coleslaw was horrible. So nothing to get excited about, however will complain with alcoholic drink prices. I forgot our waiters name but he was fast and attentive.

We stopped here for a Quick drink and to rest our feet after exploring fishermans wharf. Lovely seat upstairs by the window gave us fantastic views of fishermans wharf which we really loved. I ordered a raspberry Cosmo which I really really enjoyed - my partner went for a pint of blue moon. There were no prices on the menu so when the bill came in at $24 I thought it was a bit expensive considering Blue moon in the restaurant opposite was half the price.

Terrible service from bar man. When I asked him for a menu with prices on he threw them at me and walked away for ten minutes. When he finally returned and served us he was unhappy. We order more drinks and he was equally rude. Honestly take your business elsewhere

We arrived at 9:45pm after late flight in to San Fran. Happy hour specials after 9pm was perfect. We loved the hot wings and wonton taco appetisers. We were seated at the window and had great views of Pier 39. We had a bottle of wine, which was reasonably priced.

When you need a variety of food choices. Friendly staff nice atmosphere. Close to hotel and other shops

Was in for some lunch with friends and got seeting after 1 min. Great service and they also recommended what is good since this was our first time in applebee. Great waitress help us and check on us every time she pass. Try the taco with beef so good.

I don't normally go to chain restaurants because I am often disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised. It was extremely busy and we were told that the wait would be approx. 30 minutes and it really was 30 minutes. We were given a table by the window which was great for people watching. Our server was amazing! He was nice, funny and attentive. The food was really good. It was cooked perfectly and my drink was spot on. I am glad that they did not let me down!

I’ll start with a positive - lovely friendly waitress and good for sports and v wide choice of food. Also no quibble about refunding two dishes. Beyond that, after eating in so many other nice places in the city, this is just a bit poor. Burgers are adequate but better elsewhere. Steaks ok, but not cooked to requested order, salad (ok. Ribs and shrimp were refunded. I always try and be balanced, so it’ll be ok for a large group as choice of food is extensive; but it’s just not a place I would recommend to other fellow tourists or diners.

After spending the day on Fisherman's Wharf we stopped at Applebee's for what we hoped would be a quick dinner. Brunch burger - awesome! Chicken quesadillas - really good, doesn't come with any sides (she stole my fries). Fish & chips (fries) - no complaints from Grandpa. Wings - hot, and tasty. Only complaint was that the service was slow and it seemed to take forever to get our meals. Between the first 5 people getting their meals and the remaining 3 was nearly 5 minutes. Also 2 of the children had refills on their rainbow lemonade drinks without telling us (those paying) that they cost extra. As far as value for food / service - there's likely better value available elsewhere. We will be in the area this week and will keep you posted.

Visited for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was quite busy so had to wait a little while for a table, probably best to book in advance. My first impressions were that it was an upmarket McDonalds. I think it could really do with a refurbishment or at least a carpet change - it was quite grotty! Having said that, the staff were pleasant and friendly and the food was really good. My husband and the kids had burgers and I had a chicken and broccoli pasta dish. Really couldn't fault the food or service and had the restaurant not felt so grubby I would have given it a higher rating.

On Monday night we went to eat with a group of 6 people and the waiter named ADALID included the tip which was approximately $80. On the sign at the entrance of the restaurant it said that the tip was charged in groups of more than 8 people and that it was only 15%, there were 6 of us and he added 18% to us. I proceeded to talk to the manager because even on the receipt he wrote in pencil how much we needed to give to him... the manager agreed to talk to him and fix what he was trying to do. I clarified to the waiter that it seemed unfair to me and in the same way he just turned around and ignored what we said... today when I review my bank statement I see that the waiter did charge me the tip... it seems like a lack of respect and theft to me! a restaurant as big as applebees can't be allowing this to happen. please take action on the matter

This place has a nice view over part of the wharf. And that's the only positive thing to report about it. If you don't get a window table, just leave. The staff is as inattentive as it gets, and smiles obviously cost extra. We did the mistake of ordering food. The bacon cheeseburger is soggy bread, a thin slice of greyish something (the beef?) resting on a greenish goey substance, which is the bacon the chessehte pickle and everything else acoording to our waitress who didn't hesitate one second to lift the bun with her bare hand to show me where all the good stuff is. The bathrooms have even worse hygiene standards; a malodorant urine puddle greets you even before the bathroom door.

Very nice location and view of the bay that is the pros of this applebees. The cons for me were having to wait 5 mins to be seated, then another 25 mins for our drinks after we ordered them.

Our last night we couldn't decide where to eat and I got sucked into the 1.00 margaritas...what a mistake. Our service was terrible. the food was ok, albeit very late. It took 1 hour from the time we ordered to get our meals. Most items were wrong in our group and they were very slow to attempt to fix the issues. We finally game up asking... Bad way to end a great trip but the choice to go there was uninspired from the beginning when there are so many cool little places to eat. DUMB CHOICE.

Found this very disappointing - food was average, service poor. When serving staff stand in the restaurant arguing who is going to serve which table, you know it’s not going to go well. Guests seated after us and others were served after others who had only just arrived. Sad to say this visit was not worthy of leaving a tip either - never have we done that before.

We enjoyed a meal on rainy night at Applebees - after a rocky start where there were heaps of empty tables but we still had to wait as none were available(?) the service provided by the manager was excellent, as was the food.

The brisket tacos were just OK, and the fries were pretty good. Overall the beer selection was not very good. It did have an excellent view of the fisherman‘s wharf in the San Francisco Bay.

We had great food and service! As a family of 5 on vacation, choosing a place to eat is always difficult! Everyone was able to find something they liked. Definitely recommend!

Our final night we decided to have a dinner overlooking Fisherman's Wharf. This is upstairs and you can get a lovely view on a clear night. We managed to get a seat by the window and from here you can people watch. They do have an outdoor patio and they do have overhead heaters for when the weather gets cooler at night. Our meals were brought out to us fairly quickly. I had ordered the steak and it was cooked perfect. We both enjoyed our meals. Service was good. I know someone said in a previous post that it cost $12 for a diet coke. I just looked at my bill and it was $3.29.

This Applebee's is great. You want it they have it. Now, it can get crowded and I don't know if they take reservations, so give them a call or just show up off hours. There is plenty of seating so the wait won't be long anyway. The place is so cute. well lit and very clean. The service is excellent. They get to you pretty fast and your food comes the way you ordered it. All the servers are nice and the hostess is sweet. We love their burgers, they have a full menu and bar, but the burgers and fries are our favorite. They are cooked nicely, as ordered and the meat is very tasty. The fries are never overcooked. We have had their nachos and they are splendid. The prices are fair. You will like this on.

This was awful, the food terrible and staff disinterested. In the heart of the tourist centre near Fisherman's Wharf, this place is best avoided. Shame, we have been been to few Applebee's in this chain; normally average but this is the absolute worst. Go somewhere else, it will be better.

I really enjoy Applebee's....so on my trip to San Francisco I was happy to know where to eat!! They have great specials.... you can share or order your own. Thumbs up to Applebee's!!

We ate lunch of chicken salad, chicken broccoli pasta and grilled chicken .. everyone enjoyed their meal. Our server was really good and the food arrived promptly. I would recommend Apple bees for an easy lunch

We came as a first timer to Applebee's after recommendations from friends. The 20 minute wait to be seated in a empty restaurant was somewhat confusing. The table all have little handsets, we were told we could order drinks and starters on it. Drinks ordered, starters ordered and waited for the waitress. No drinks, no starters, so I approached a waitress and found that it was all basically a do it yourself ordering system. Drinks had to be reminded. Food arrived and was okay. More drinks ordered, this time with the waitress. Drinks didn't arrive again, spoke to a manager and the drinks still didn't arrive. Couldn't pay the bill as a computer issue and drinks not provided needed taking off. All in all a totally underwhelming experience.

We had never been to Applebee's but had heard lots of comments and thought we'd go for dinner. There was plenty of options and the food was OK, but the service really let this place down. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table and when we did get seated, half the restaurant was empty. Overall, we were left disappointed.

Staff was nice. Waitress overburdened and unloved. Food was late and not so hot. Floor needed cleaned. Beer was cold and forgiving.

Just as you would expect from Applebee's, the food was great, the service was great... But, I really loved the views from this restaurant too, as the restaurant is all on the top floor, you get great views of people milling about in the centre of Fisherman's Wharf, watch cruise ships arrive and depart the ports and just generally watch the hustle and bustle of Fisherman's Wharf while you enjoy some really great food! I usually have a burger when I go to Applebee's in New York but, as I wanted something a bit lighter, I decided to go for the Three Cheese Chicken Penne but this really filled me up too, which is a good thing! I would walk back to San Francisco for another one!! The staff were also very friendly! Overall, I was really impressed by the chilled atmosphere and the experience as a whole so I would certainly eat here again when I return to San Francisco!

Average would be the word I’d. Hose to describe Appleby’s. We’d never tried the chain before and probably won’t be back. There was about a 20 minute wait to be seated and it would have been nice if we were given menus to look at while we wait. I had the Bourbon Street chicken with shrimp. The chicken was cooked nicely but the spices on top hadn’t been cooked out properly so spoilt the taste. The shrimp were really small as well. My wife had salmon with a maple glaze which was a little over cooked. In general the portion sizes weren’t great in terms of value compared to other restaurants we’ve eaten at in America.

In town near Fisherman’s Wharf and wanted somewhere to eat an evening meal. We were given a window table so had a view. Great selection on the menu - I had the Bacon Cheese Burger and it was delicious. Service was friendly. caring and efficient. Worth a visit to fill the tummy after a day walking the streets of SF.

Chose Applebees to get lunch. Sat by the view of the Piers. Convenient location. Ordered ribs and a drink with sides. Good service too

Ate there twice. Baby back ribs - not meaty. 2nd visit had a burger....very tasty and plenty of it.....had the best fries we experienced anywhere else in Fishermans wharf and thank goodness it was open when we were trying to find somehere to eat after 9pm.....

Firstly, if you are considering eating here, please just walk back down the stairs and eat elsewhere. This was without a doubt the most memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. From start to finish. We waited to be seated by a lovely rude lady. Then our waiter, Mark who had food down his shirt and had simply no idea what he was doing. We ordered food 3 times as he kept coming over saying they didn't have this dish, that dish or any dishes. We had just arrived in San Francisco and this was our window to a great city. Then the kids starters arrived and the adults hadn't even ordered so the waiter thought this was going to be OK. Then the meals they said they didn't have started to arrive. Tasteless food and just quite simply the service from hell. This is cheap nasty food and I would strongly recommend avoid and eat anywhere else along Jefferson St.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, however this is the worst restaurant we have visited on our US stay. Drinks took far too long to arrive, we were not given enough cutlery even though the waiter knew this when he seated us. They forgot my sons meal and thought by offering fries this would make us happy. I had the neighbourhood nachos and it was the worst meal I had ever had, it said it was spicy, I could taste nothing but melted cheese. This car and grill is really letting the customers down with their food and service

We ate here twice on a recent trip to San Francisco. There's nothing special about it necessarily but it's good quality food and great prices. Check out the 2 entrees for $25 deals. Excellent value. This has become our go to place in San Francisco. Nice view from the restaurant overlooking Fisherman's Wharf, especially at night. Would definitely eat there again if we are in town.

We are rating this as a one star, and this one saving star belongs to the wonderful waitress we had, Ciana. If not for her they would rate a 0. Please be aware that if you order a cocktail at this place, they will not charge you for a single drink/cocktail. They will charge you for every liquor they put in your drink. We ordered 2 Irish coffees which is coffee, whiskey and Kahlúa. They charged us $12 for the whiskey, $10 for the kalua and almost 4 dollars for the coffee X 2. Of course we were not told this at the time we ordered. When we asked if this was the norm with every Applebee’s restaurant we were told yes. There’s something really unethical about this and almost unlawful. If we were aware of this we could’ve ordered one cocktail with one liquor and have had three drinks. How do they figure this is acceptable? Also, we have been to other Applebee’s and this has not been the case. There are too many restaurants and bars in fisherman’s wharf that people can go to and not be subjected to such unethical pricing. Diners beware and review your bill!

We were ignored for the first 10/15 minutes, finally when the waitress came over we ordered drinks and food, food arrived, steaks were terrible but what was worse was we were 5 minutes into eating and the waitress came over and said she needed us to pay the bill as she was going home, she then proceeded to click the 20% tip button........ whilst I’m not adverse to tipping.... lady... you need to provide a service.... don’t just expect us tourists to pay up 20% it’s a tip?!?! Not impressed at all!

Visited Applebee’s for a evening meal, before I go any further beware (THE LIFT ONLY GOES UP!) we stood in the lift for what seemed like eternity waiting for it to go down. NO WARNING SIGNS OR OUT OF ACTION! Maybe you don’t care about customer safety?? staff didn’t mention it at all! Had a table with nice views of bay, unfortunately drinks on the menu were no longer available I wanted(slightly disappointing) meal was ok, we were sat considering our deserts when young Selwyn produced our bill without any option of any further beverages. Made us feel unwelcome so we paid up and went elsewhere to enjoy rest of evening. Probably our worst experience at a Applebee’s. Wouldn’t visit again.
AMAZING VIEW
Located on the top floor, ask for outdoor seating and watch the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge. Then enjoy people watching on the streets below. Great, easy entertain for the whole family and a beautiful view.
