A Hidden Gem

By Mtoumayan |

A small quaint restaurant with rustic decor, this restaurant transforms you to a space where the ancient virtue of hospitality imposes duties on host and guest. You are treated to generous portions of delicious home-made (mostly Western) Armenian dishes that are on point with the right blend of Armenian and Middle Eastern fusion. When you're there, take the time to appreciate the rich flavors in each dish because each dish tells the story of the Armenian people, and where they come from. Give this place a try!

A hidden treasure in Northern Liberties

This is a small restaurant with authentic Armenian food.we had an excellent dinning experience. Everything is fresh and tasty. They have inside and outside sitting. We both ordered the Kabob Tasting Platter, both selecting lamb, beef and chicken. My wife had the Greek salad and I opted for the eggplant salad. We both had the hummus and it comes with rice pilaf.for desert we got the home made baklawa that was delicious. The original Turkish coffee was outstanding. I recommend to reserve a table as it always full.

Good Mediterranean food, service so-so

By sellacar |

Small Middle Eastern restaurant, very cozy bustling atmosphere. We ordered a few apps, babaghanoush and hummus. They were good but not outstanding. I ordered the chicken skewer platter that comes with salad and rice and a dip. The portion was large and the food was very fresh. The food was tasty but again nothing outstanding, but good and solid. My husband had the felafel which he said was very good and a large portion. The place was busy, so the service was, at times, spotty, but not bad at all. Good average and fresh dinner.

Bodacious Brunch!

We just enjoyed a delicious brunch at Apricot Stone. What a lovely little Mediterranean Restaurant! It was very interesting to learn about each item on the menu from our very knowledgeable server. The food was very well prepared and presented. I even got a warm welcome from the owner! Great time was had by all at Apricot Stone!

First Anniversary Dinner With Some Friends

By ScottyRock |

Some friends of ours lived close to Apricot Stone up until six months ago. They love this restaurant and had not been there since they moved. We decided to take them there for their first anniversary. As usual it was a great visit! We all agreed, we enjoyed our meals and received excellent service.

Excellent Dining Experience at Apricotstone.

Apricotstone is a quaint little restaurant with great food. This place is tucked in, like so many other small restaurants, in the bustling Northern Liberties neighborhood. It is worth the effort it would take to find it! When we arrived, at approximately 6:00 PM, all of the outdoor seats were already taken. We were seated inside the restaurant and were the only guest seated inside at the time. Within fifteen minutes, the place was packed... That's always a good sign. My wife loves this place and was determined to take me there for me to give it a try. Well, I love it too! We both ordered the Kabob Tasting Platter, both selecting lamb, beef and chicken. My wife had the Greek salad and I opted for the eggplant salad. We both had the hummus and it comes with rice pilaf. In a word, this meal was simply outstanding! I will be returning to Apricotstone very soon!

Gladly Surprised

We had a reservation and they were almost ready when we got there. Place is very friendly and the food was great. The whole family took platters of kabob. You have a choice of sides and a choice of dip for your meat so that's great. The meat was delicious and served with green peppers and onions (many places have just the meat). Rice pilaf wasn't gluten-free and there was no alternative so that was a bummer. It's very small and it's a BYOB so if you have a rowdy group in the place who brought a bit too much to drink, that's it! Driving and parking is a mess due to all the repairs and the area itself so just plan an extra 15 mins to drive around, park, and making your way there. We'll definitely return.

First Armenian food experience

By Captkave |

Having Armenian dishes for the first time, foods did not disappointed us. However, we found a lot of similarities with other Persian/Mediterranean dishes. We had Dinner for 2 and we were stuffed. We really enjoyed the filet kabab and the best falafel. The filet was done perfectly with just right amount of seasoning and the falafel was fluffy and moist. We topped it off the wonderful dinner with the rice pudding with Armenian coffee.

Wonderful food from this mother son team

My wife and I got the dinner for two. Excellent dips to start, followed by cheese and spinach pies. Then some of the best falafel I’ve had in the states. Then kebabs and dessert. Highly recommend!

The Mediterranean Goods

By GeneralTsoGood |

A cozy Mediterranean joint that offers really authentic tasting dishes. I have eaten likely 90% of the offerings, and have always been impressed. It's byo too. The various shawarma platters are all good and come with two sides for a list of about 6, I go with Israeli salad and humus (pita comes with the entrees). The cheese boreg is always crispy flakey on the outside and cheesy goodness on the inside. The chicken is 17$ while filet is 19$. The purveyor is a nice guy, always working the front during busy weekend dinners. I will be moving from Philly soon, and will surely miss the Stone

Family-run, delicious Armenian food

By Henry P |

Having just returned from Armenia, we looked for Armenian restaurants on a visit to Philly. This place did not disappoint! The tastiest lamb kebab I think I've ever had, accompanied by two superior mezes out of several offered. The others were equally pleased with their orders, including traditional desserts. Excellent bread. BYOB, no corkage charge. All for under $100. There are only a few tables indoors, as well as outside seating. We were glad to have reserved ours, for 4, since the heavens opened during the meal. Two of us returned the following evening, the food was so good.

Pleasant surprise

By Trey K |

My wife and I visited on a cold night after hearing about this place through google and open table when we were in the neighborhood for a comedy show. We were pleasantly surprised with the quiet ambiance, excellent staff, unique food and family atmosphere. The owner and chef were eating with family in the restaurant. It is hard label the food given the variety of background of the chef but I would call it middle eastern with a twist. The tapas-like sauces and appetizers were excellent. The main courses were flavorful. The desserts were great. Definitely recommend. It would be even better on a nice night in the summer.

Incredible. Every morsel. Wonderful service too!

We will return again and again. No question. The food is a absolutely delicious and made by a gifted chef. And it's a BYOB too. Bravo to the chef and the staff. They have a gem. It is very small so make reservations and street parking can be challenging but it is totally worth it. You must try the kibbeh! Also be sure to finish the meal the the delicious piping up Armenian coffee.

Northern liberties gem

We made an early Friday night reservation and we're probably the first ones seated. The small dining room was adorable. We ordered the cheese tart/pastry thing and the stuffed grape leaves, both of which were incredible (and I don't like stuffed grape leaves much, but they were recommended). The food was absolutely incredible and came out in minutes. Moving into entres, the chicken schwarma was incredible. The rice itself was just awesome along with the salads and dips I cant remember how to spell. Fantastic (whole wheat!) Pita. We brought home left overs. And, of course, when in Rome/Middle Eastern restaurants, we ordered the baklava and a cheese stuffed baklava dessert, along with Turkish coffee. All of these things were to die for and we left stuffed, though not in an awful way. The food was filling, but didn't make us feel sluggish or heavy. We were brought here with a coupon and will likely return many times without one. The value was incredible, along with quality and service. I can't recommend this place enough. Just as a side note, ill add that they're a BYOB which wasn't super clear on their website (or it was and i still missed it). I will be happily returning with a bottle in the near future.

Outstanding menu; BYOB

All your Mediterranean and Balkan favorites. We ate outside on a lovely summer evening, and service was excellent. We shared our entrees: trio for dips, the tzatziki was exceptional; grape leaves, spanakopita and beef dumplings; Kebabs are tasty and right off the grill. Perfect summer cuisine. Too full for dessert!

Delicious and Affordable

By Kelsey G |

BYOB, outside seating and affordable? Yes please. If you want wine or mimosas, just swing by the liquor store on 2nd and girard. Sunday brunch has a great $20 menu with about 5 dishes that come with it. Like many middle eastern/mediterranean cuisines, lots of options for meat eaters and veggies alike. Our favorites were the hummus, grape leaves, kibbeh and falafel. Most importantly, everything was fresh and flavorful. Will definitely return!
