Thank you Arepa Venezuela Kitchen for my weekly Arepa fix!

By PNWYoungBulls |

These Arepas are delicious and staff is friendly! I typically order the Pabellon or Reina Pepiada plus the beef empanadas. I wish they had more veggie options. All colleagues and friends that I have taken here have enjoyed this grubbing food.

Favorite place to eat in the U District

All I can say is YUM! First tried this place several years ago when postmates had free delivery and it was incredible! I had no idea what an arepa was, but they are full of juicy flavorful meat and melty cheese. The tostones (fried plantains) are excellent as well. The unassuming exterior of the restaurant hides some wonderful food so don’t let it fool you!

Try the pabellon arepa

Wanting to try something some South American cuisine led us to Arepa Venezuelan Kitchen. Enticing reviews of their pabellon arepa were accurate. A grilled arepa is a corn pita with an exterior texture like an English muffin but soft in the middle with shredded beef accompanied by melted white cheese, sweet plantains, and black beans. I preferred the arepa without the optional cilantro or spicy mayo-sauces. The beef empanadas were ok, but skip the prepackaged flan. The Zapata mochachino was an excellent alternative for dessert.

A Must Try in the University District

I am finally writing a review of this place because it is consistently delicious. I usually go after shopping at the Farmer's Market or running errands in the U District. The flavors are really yummy and the value is excellent. After trying several variations, my favorite is the Pabellon. I usually get it without cheese because I'm non-dairy. It is perfectly balanced with the sweet of the plantain and the savory of the meat. I see that other people have also suggested the Pabellon so let me say that I have enjoyed each Arepa that I have tried!

Great Venezuelan food made fresh daily, a must for foodies

While in Seattle yesterday I was craving true Venezuelan food. Arepa, the name of a Venezuelan staple food Venezuelan corn patty, is family owned and operated. I ordered my favorite, the pabellón, a mixed plate of pulled beef with a savory sauce, black beans and rice, and fried plantains. I also ordered fried yuca accompanied by a delicious garlic sauce that’s made fresh at there. The restaurant is a reflection of the community it serves, students, families and locals who enjoy good food that’s inexpensive. The service is fast, efficient and above all friendly! I’ll be there next time I’m in Seattle

They know how to make a killer reina pepiada. That goes for you avocado lovers. Their tequeños are devine as well. Delightful people, food is impeccable and taste just like my home. Really impressed by these guys, gracias mis panas!!

Viva Venezuela!

Look on your plate, is it a pita pocket? Is it an empanada? No, it's an arepa, a super tasty hand sandwich from Venezuela. There are lots of options for fillings, all so good. Mine had shredded beef, fried plantains, black beans and cheese. Add a squirt of the house made chipotle sauce and you've got a heavenly meal.

The best of Venezuelan food in Seattle.

Traveling across the country from Pittsburgh PA it has being a great pleasure to find this restaurant with 100% Venezuelan food. I am not easy to get convince with Venezuelan food as I am a Venezuelan native and Arepa Venezuelan Kitchen gets 100 points on my scale of 100. We ordered, ate and got Delighted with Patacones, arepa de pabellón and arepa Sifrina. What a meal. I love all of it and recommend it 100%.

Great Tostones (patacon)

We visited this place by our friends that we were visiting for the long weekend and I have to say I was very happy with the food specially the tostones and the Malta drink, the waiter was really nice too. I definitely recommend this place mostly if you are from Latin america you will feel at home. My only complain is the music, maybe they should go with some Latin music instead of american music.

A really nice place hidden in Seattle's magic streets. It just reminded me of the flavor of my country. Super awesome lady helping us about what to eat... Love the place.

I ate an arepa called Reina Pepiada with a passion fruit juice! Hmmm! Good service and pleasant deck in a beautiful summer day.

Great authentic Venezuelan food

Albeit a reduced menu, what this restaurant serves is first class. The Arepas are fantastic, I prefer the "pabellón" the plantains are excellent and so are the black beans. The deserts are also very good

Okay and a bit of hit-and-miss

Located on a side street, sharing a bathroom with the Grand Illusion Cinema. Interesting menu, with many unique dishes, possibly worth trying. Food is cooked to order. The steak salad was great, with lots of greens and meat but the Patacon sandwich was just okay. The filling was very good but the plantain wrap was dry and just didn't work for me. The place is clean and well lit.

Excellent food

Delicious, affordable, and cozy spot

I found myself in the U district for business and had 30 minutes for a quick dinner. A Yelp search brought this place to my attention as nearby and highly reviewed. I thought it looked interesting, so I stopped in. It's a very quaint, cafe feel with lots of seating (and some limited seating in a small patio outside). I ordered the pabellon arepa. It was really delicious- corn meal pastry filled with black beans, sweet plantains, pork and cheese. It made a great meal and was really cheap! I also had a fantastic coffee (Americano). The menu warns that arepas can take 15 minutes to make, but mine came in around 5. Perhaps at lunch it would take longer. I highly recommend this place for wonderful food, fabulous coffee, and a great environment.

Tequeños to Die For... and that sauce!

By Emeshea P |

My Venezuelan friend introduced me to Arepa because she wanted me to have an authentic Venezuelan dining experience. The food is fresh and delicious. I could eat Tequeños all day long because they are so tasty. The arepas are very filling and there are ingredient combinations to please everyone. The restaurant also has a flat screen TV where they show soccer matches. It was very fun to watch Columbia v England here during the World Cup 2018 because many Columbians came to cheer. (Sorry about the outcome though... it was a heartbreaking ending to a long match.) In addition to great food and a fun atmosphere, Arepa also has many specialty beverages from Central and South America. There are also desserts like flan available if you didn't overstuff yourself with Tequeños.

Yum!

After seeing glowing reviews, I had to try out this place. After walking around the farmer's market on Saturday a couple of blocks away, my husband and I went for lunch. The restaurant was quite busy. It's not a big place but has the decent number of tables and outdoor sitting too. The restaurant staff were friendly and personable. I ordered Pabellon Arepa and it was so delicious. The freshly made pita-like arepa bread stuffed with black beans, sweet plantains, shredded beef and cheese. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. We got an order of empanadas but could do without it.
