Great Hamburgers and awesome beer selection

By Paul John H |

Stopped by and shared a God Bless the Keg Day (aka Friday) evening with some friends who live locally. Really great atmosphere, food was very good - the hamburgers are the best I have had in along time. Great beer selection and attentive service. I have been twice and both visits were hot, summer nights, the place was crowded and the air conditioning struggled. It got a little warm! The pizza oven inside does not help! Great decor, diverse crowd. Very enjoyable!

Snack and a beer

By delstateque393 |

Great spot for craft and eclectic beers. Staff is nice and on a nice strip. Parking in the back and free street parking. White turkey chilli is good, hotdog is glamorized but still good. Pizza is supposed to be good I haven't had yet bcz i dont really go there to eat. Happy hour 50% off selected brews. Outdoor seating as well. Check it out

Awesome

New, Trendy & Cool in the EAV

By Michelle B |

My friends and I went to Argosy in late March during is't soft opening when the lunch option was only Pizza or Salad. We were a bit disappointed by this but it certainly made ordering easier from a decision making standpoint. My friends ordered beer including a a special "pumpkin bread" variety they were very excited to find on tap. I had the BBQ Bloody Mary which was spicy hot and came with a garnish of 1 piece of bacon, 1 full pepper, I think a pickle and something else. I remember telling my friends the drink garnish was almost an appetizer by itself. It was very good but not for the faint of heart from a spice perspective. We had a sausage pizza with meat from the local Charcuterie place called the Spotted Trotter, another great place for the adventurous. The pizza also had arugala on it as well and was a very good pepper addition. The pizza was great and super cheesy. You could tell they used quality ingredients. The bar was inviting and large as it extended through half the entire restaurant. They had many different types of seating that looked different from most places, comforting and inviting. I look forward to going back again when they have a more full lunch menu offering.

great game room

By Ryan B |

This place is very popular in the area and are quite large with lots of seating and an awesome game room in the back. We recently came her again for my wife’s birthday after a long pub crawl and we all went immediately to the back where it is first come first serve. They have another bar back there which is awesome, several tables and games. We actually Uber’ed all the way across the city to come here and play skee-ball (my wife’s favorite) and unfortunately it was out of order. So instead we played shuffle board and hung out by the bar. They have a little room off to the side where you can sit outside, but it will be overrun by smokers later into the evening. We had a great time and will come back again next time we’re in East ATL.

Local favorite

By Jennifer N |

We live in east atlanta village and this is our favorite date spot!! The atmosphere is amazing and the drinks make it even better. The food. Where do I even start!! Appetizers- the duck egg rolls and poppers are our favorites. The egg rolls come with a spicy jelly that compliments the duck nicely. Pizza!! Yes pizza is one of our staples here. The crust is thin and cooked in a brick oven pizza. All of the pizzas are amazing and yes, we have tried every single one! Great place for a night out!!

Late Night Drinks and Pizza

By Catherine W |

Wow! The setting is spectacular with brick, wood paneling and the scene is for friends having a great time with excellent food and drinks! The service was quick and efficient. I ate the left over pizza the next day and it was still delicious!

Nice looking place, if you're made to feel welcome

By Mark E |

Was in town recently for a weekend and a small group of us tried to go here. We were a group of middle aged guys looking for a place with good beer and food selection. From the moment we walked in the door we got the vibe that we weren't really their kind of clientele. We got shuffled around to a couple of different spots before we finally said the hell with this and went off in search for a place that actually wanted our business. A real shame too, because this seemed to be the kind pf place we were looking for. Great selection of craft beers and a pretty good looking menu. The place had good atmosphere. The waiter that came to us in our final resting place was nice enough to us and got us a round of drinks in pretty short order. Whatever happened to southern hospitality?

Food, beer, and atmosphere are great!

By neil n |

I have been here only once, but loved it. The beer selection was very very good and the food was also excellent. I absolutely loved the atmosphere!!

Surprising hidden gem

By Bonitaruss |

Went with a friend of mine based on a view of the menu online. The interior was warm and cozy (outside was rainy and cold). The noise level was conversation comfort. I had the house burger that was awesome. The Nashvegas Hot Chicken sandwich, which is just as describe...HOT! Not a fire burning hot but pleasant to eat hot and spicy. The fries were not my favorite style, but the were served just the way I like them...right out of the oil. The frosting on the cake was the Salted Carmel Blonde Brownie with the ice cream on top. My oh my it was goooooood. Really enjoyed the staff and the restaurant. Will go back again. Try it.

One of our favorites

By Alex R |

Love this place always. Such an eclectic and original menu with amazing cocktails. Pizza is always a staple. Ambiance makes the experience every time.

Great food, superb staff

By vanvanvanvan |

Gourmet eats and an exhaustive beer list make this spot a local favorite. Excellent for date night or group outings. Mid-century modern decor and the nicest employees you'll encounter anywhere south of i20. Can't beat it.

Pizza is off the chain! Everything was awesome!

By Jim T |

I'm a pizza eater and seek it out everywhere I go. By far one of the best pies with local ingredients and cool atmosphere. Very upscale but casual at the same time.

Late Night Grub

By Garey R |

Very nice place with a unique feel. We went when only the late night menu was available. So if you are okay with pizza then you're fine. What we did order was actually good and ingredients seemed fresh. I would definitely be interested in returning earlier to check out their other offerings.

*Almost* perfect

By Melissa K |

I was so excited for this restaurant to open last year, and rightfully so. The decor places you in a classic ship, the beer list is to die for, and the food looks amazing. But -- looks are sometimes where it stops. Almost everything I've eaten here has been delicious, but needed *something* to push it over the top into WOW. The veggie burger would be better if it was crisper, the arancini was cold in the middle, the sesame mayonnaise on the chicken sandwich was too sesame-fied. (Also, this last time, our service severely sucked. Don't leave me waiting 20 minutes after I ask for my check...-- but that's not common)

Party of 9 - No Reservation ~ Not a Problem!

By PapaK60 |

You'd think on a Saturday night, a party of 9 would without a reservation would be doomed for failure ~ not at Argosy! We hung out at the bar for less than 20 minutes and were seated in the outer area, just outside the main part of the restaurant ... which was just fine with us. Great service... and of course ~ great food... and great specialty drinks.

Night out

By Amylovesmakeup |

Had the best drinks and service . Ordered the basil gnocchi and it was outstanding! Really cool atmosphere ,super busy and the server was excellent

Snobby waitstaff

By Mervat C |

The service at argosy is not very good. Most of the servers look very uninterested and are not very friendly or enthusiastic. Last few times I have been there I have not enjoyed the pizza as much either.

Best place in EAV!

By Harmony K |

Great service, great food & drinks & all this without choking on smoke! Went for brunch with friends & had the best egg dish (forgot the name). There's a pop-up market on Saturday's - highly recommend! Great selection of beers & a menu that keeps things interesting. Love this place & the owners are spectacular people!

Great Food little noisy

By Liz W |

Ate here in December and the chicken is marvelous. It is a little noisy but a very hip joint that I would visit again and again. the decor is fabulous. Parking is an issue in this area but you can find a place.

Great dinner in East Atlanta

By jenned17 |

Delicious pizza! My sister and I sat outside and enjoyed people watching while sipping our drinks (the Just Joshin’ cocktail is divine) and snacking on perfectly salted hot boiled peanuts. The Penelope pizza was delicious - great tasting crust and fresh toppings. Dedicated, free parking right next door was a plus. Will return!

Night out!

By Rich S |

Had a great night family and friends, food and service was great! Recommend this place! The atmosphere was great and the food was good!

Gorgeous place with great food

By Katlanta |

I've had the pleasure of visiting this place twice since they opened, and have really enjoyed both visits. The food, drinks, decor are all imaginative and well-executed. From the stained glass to the warm woods to the wood-fired pizza oven, this place is as welcoming as it is lovely. They have a great patio from which you can enjoy the always-entertaining people-watching of the East Atlanta Village. There is an expansive bar and terraced seating inside. Somehow the place manages to feel very cozy and even private despite its size. The beer and food menus are definitely inspired, and include local brews and locally cured meats in addition to craft brews and other treats from farther afield. As a huge bonus, it's nonsmoking inside, and the 85% of Americans who don't smoke hope they keep it that way. For the out-of-towners, this place is just a few miles from downtown, east on I-20. If you hear a local refer to EAV or "the Village," this is the neighborhood.

Wow

By LuckySpivey |

We had not visited the Flat Shoals area in several years. We had no idea this existed. Think Grant Park or Auburn Avenue. This place is terrific! We enjoyed several small plates. All were delicious but the pork bellies and the chicken pops were extra special , You must try this for yourself .

Quite a Beer List, Good Food

By Aaron W |

The beer list is overwhelming. We tried a few for variety and they were all excellent. I ordered a burger and fries, while the wife ordered a cheese plate and polenta cake. The burger and fries was served on a board instead of a plate, was a decent serving and very tasty. But the real reason to go here is for the beer. This was a loud bar, which didn't bother us, but could bother others, so be warned.

Brunch was okay.

By Samadeus |

Their brunch/breakfast menu is a bit bland. I had a bagel with lox and some coffee. There wasn't much to be desired on their breakfast menu, but the bagel and salmon I had was delicious. I think maybe their lunch/dinner menu might be the reason to go here, not so much for brunch.

Actually a nice spot to enjoy beer...

By Clint L |

Actually a nice spot to enjoy beer... If you're downtown and you have a chance to try this place you probably should. They have a broad selection of beers and then woodfired pizzas aren't so bad either. Do your research before ordering one though…

Artistic mix of rebar, dim lighting fine woodworking, and suttle elegance in a fulfill the senses kind of way.

By Ryan G |

Love this beer/foodie lovers experience. Arrive early for some great wood fired pizza and artisan beers to prep for a night on the town. Head to the back to challenge you date or buddies to some Skiball. Yes, Skiball! Check in as it may be league night. Boom... Drops the mic! Oh, I am not done though. As the night progresses you'll find the music increases to match the lively yet relaxed atmosphere. This is a young up and coming professional / hipster kind of place... But, you'll see all walks of life with their relaxed and intiment group feel. Don't miss the rest of the menu though! I have tried a few other things, and I have seen a lot of amazing things come from this kitchen. I can not give the Argosy more accolades. I am here about once a week and that says a lot! Say hi if you spot me.

Consistancy and Service

By Jimbo1607 |

I have been to the Argosy many times and will continue to return. The food is typically great but not consistently. The service is never consistent. The bar is huge and they typically have 2 bartenders to cover it. The time it takes for the bartender to make their way around back to you can be 10 minutes or more. I have walked up to the bar and waited more than 10 minutes for service. Other bars in the village are smaller have 2 bartenders and can serve more drinks in 5 minutes than they serve in 30. They either need to add staff or reorganize the bar set up. The staff are great and friendly I think it is just the layout. As I said the food can be great and if it isn't right they will fix it.

Cool Atmosphere and Great Food

By RaqVentures |

Very cool atmosphere in East Atlanta. Great beer list of local brews and the menu looks exquisite. We started with the mac n' cheese (10!) and the crispy lamb (100!). What brought my review down to 4 instead of 5 was the orange octopus. It was very salty and a bit tough. After the other amazing food I was a little disappointed. I would definitely return though!

A Nice Respite in East Atlanta

By Jimed323 |

Great atmosphere and beautiful remodel of an old, classic building. Great beer selection, good bar and patio. The burgers and trotter dogs are excellent and the pizza is very good also. Look forward to going back and trying more entres.

Chill place for dinner and drinks.

By Roam Free |

Really nice chill spot in East Atlanta. Great place for cocktails and has a large beer selection. The food is really good and try their wood fired over pizzas.

Great food, great vibe.

By gmiddlebro |

We're occasional visitors to Atlanta, and ended up here for dinner before a concert down the street at 529 Bar. Argosy had excellent food with attentive, friendly service in a cool setting—to say the decor is "eclectic" is putting it mildly. Argosy also seemed to be the only non-smoking restaurant/bar in East Atlanta Village, which was a huge plus. Can't wait for a reason to return.

Great ambiance

By Cassidy144 |

I love the vibe at Argosy. I met a large group here and enjoyed drinks and snacks. Wish I had had time to check out the skee ball! It's a very attractive restaurant, with a large bar. It's well-known for its pizza for a reason. Great location for more bar hopping in the neighborhood after your meal.

Great Atmosphere!

By Tiago B |

This is an awesome space, with a decent beer menu, and some good food. Has somewhat of a nautical pirate ship feel inside. It's also pretty kid friendly like most places in EAV, even though it's got a bar feel.

Cool atmosphere

By spingal26 |

Food is really nice and the atmosphere is wonderful. A unique little find in East Atlanta that can't be duplicated or really described. They have a fantastic selection of craft beers. Only disappointment was the pizza. Odd, because they have a brick pizza oven, but the crust is pretty tough instead of the crispness I was looking for. Cheese plate, tuna, and everything else was great.

Hopeful they'll keep improving

By SCR-ATL |

I am so glad this restaurant opened up in East Atlanta Village - and keep rooting for them to keep improving. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times, and each time gets better yet I've yet to have a completely satisfactory experience. What I do like very much is the food - the creativity and execution is very good. The service, however, is where I've been very disappointed - lost orders, long (45 minutes) wait on food, inattentive waitstaff. I talked to the manager on site and to his credit he acknowledged and did not deflect my complaints. So with a bit more focus on managing the service side, this spot could be a real find.

great bar and beer selection

By Yeahyeahyo |

Perfect for atmosphere, beer and artisan pizza. I don't consider it a go to place for really good dining. The menu items always look good, but I just don't find the food to be prepared as well as, say, The Midway, which is just down the street.

Amazing space!

By Gregdog |

We've been here twice now. The food is really good. From the chicken sandwich to the roasted chicken and tuna sandwich...everything is a step above your typical bar food. We haven't tried the pizzas yet, but they have a wood fire oven and I have it on good authority that they are quite good. Most of their ingredients are sourced locally which I really like. They have a wonderful beer list. If you're a beer fan you have to try the Creature Comforts Tropicalia. It's an Athen, GA brewery, and it's wonderful. The space itself is really something. It's hard to explain in a review, but it's an interesting and fun restaurant! If you're in the area you should really make a point to visit. If you're a fan of The Brick Store in Decatur you'll love this place!

2 for 2 Argosy..good job!

By Atlg8tor |

Argosy is fairly close to my house and with friends in town, we didn't want to drive far for dinner. We arrived at prime time/8pm on a Friday night and were greeted by the host immediately who put us on wait list and said we'd have a table in 10-15 min. Went to the bar and was impressed with the bartender who worked hard to take care of our group and our table came up right as he served up some tasty beers and a well made margarita. Our server was on point, made great menu suggestions and we were well taken care of. I had the wedge salad and trout / grits entree and my friends got a few pizzas. All of the food was well prepared and very good, beer selection was great and service was spot on...good job Argosy..I will be back!

Argosy

By Atlg8tor |

Had a friend from out of town in tow..we decided to check it out. Service was spot on, great beer selection and our food was very good also. I will say the entire staff pitched in to greet, maintain our drinks ( even though we sat at bar ) and I was impressed with the level of service. We split a few apps and wood fired pizza which were very good. Would recommend and love that it's right in my neighborhood so I'll be back!

Exceptional Food and Customer Service

By DrAlias |

We were visiting this area and walked by this place and decided to check it out. It offers indoor and outdoor seating. It is very large inside with additional spaces in the rear and upstairs. We ordered burger and fries at the bar along with drinks. Both was delicious and we received exceptional customer service. The bartender was amazing and we never had to ask for anything. We will definitely be returning and I highly recommend this place.

Too popular to care

By alaskanneil |

They are so popular they don't need to cater to your food allergies unless it is a hip cool allergy like gluten. Someone with out group has bad reactions to marinara sauce and garlic and they won't modify the pizzas for that. They are Arrogant Argosy like Antico. The server did his best but it's an inflexible kitchen.

Really missed the mark

By timatlga |

So, this is a popular place and is probably resting on it laurels, but it has some real issues if you’re wanting a meal. They cannot coordinate the timing with the pizzas and the rest of the food. Though they do warn you of that. It took close to an hour to get our pizzas. Long after the other folks had finished eating. My main issue with this is that after all that wait the crusts were bURNT BLACK and basically INEDIBLE Our server was just plain lousy. If you want to spend the majority of your drinkless, then this may be your place. Also, the beer selection was updated and lousy.

Where everybody knows your name....

By Suzanne_F30 |

...And they're always glad you came...I've been sitting here for about 30 minutes having a cocktail and appetizer (A Vikki drink and Polenta Cake appetizer). One of the first things I've noticed are the ages of the drinkers/diners....And I do believe that every age is represented here. Twenty something's to 60 something's. The twenty something's are conversing with the 60 something's and the atmosphere is more cordial than anywhere else I been in quite some time. Try this place....I promise you will love everything about it!!!

Amazing pizza!!!

By zooplantgirl |

Had the pizza with butternut squash, kale, and pancetta (I think)...it was close to the most delicious thing I have ever tasted! Beer selection is excellent, great atmosphere, great location....must visit when in Atlanta!!!

great beer selection & cool space

By Whitney W |

Love their veggie burger and pizza. Salads are fresh and not the bagged generic junk you find at other bar/restaurants.

Fun Friday night

By SteveK |

Visited last Friday night and what a great atmosphere. Awesome beer selection and music all of the people were so nice. They even had an Evil Twin Brewing on tap which is like finding the holy grail. Argosy definitely gets a thumbs up from me.

Late night/ Date Night in Atlanta GA

By Taylor P |

We were looking for a late night bite in Atlanta GA and stumbled across Argosy. I am so happy we did! Everything about this place is spectacular! The location, ambiance (particularly great of a date night) , beer selection, and food all exceeded our expectations. This place is a gem! If you are in the Atlanta area I highly suggest the visit. If you are a beer drinker this is the place for you. Along with a full bar with craft cocktails, there are at least 50 craft beers on tap with more options in bottle and can only. Also DO NOT leave this place without trying the chicken wings! 100/10!!! We also tried their pizza! Some of the best wood fired pizza I have had. We will most definitely be returning to this hidden gem on our next trip to Atlanta.

Lots of beers!

By alice_lenthe |

Friday night dinner with a huge selection of beers and a very friendly and knowledgeable server. One of our party chose pizza and though we were warned that it took longer than other menu items we did not realize that everything else would come as soon as it was normally ready, leaving one person with nothing to eat and then the rest of us watching him when his pizza arrived. Kind of a weird timing issue. Pizza looked and smelled great and salad and burgers were tasty. Fix the timing.

Cold and dry french fries

By Voyage Critic |

It is a very cool looking place and it ok just for drinks but not for food. Burgers are very basic, and their french fries are super dry and cold, just like their service.

Had to try the burger

By Dines_out_regularly |

GREAT BURGER. Had a great burger with nice gooey cheese. Big, tasty, filling. Good selection of beer. Pleasant, efficient server.

Best Beer List in Atlanta

By Ali D |

The beer list here is one of the best in Atlanta. Hands down. And the food is pretty damn good as well. The restaurant is very cozy and has a cabin feel. I love this place!

Terrific stop in East Atlanta

By Jim C |

There are so many great places popping up in the East Atlanta, Little Five, Midtown that it is hard to find a bad experience. Really like what these young people are doing to revitalize these areas. First time at the Argosy, invited by my son to celebrate a birthday. A extensive and very good beer selection. Food was well prepared and very good. Hamburger was a double patty, delicious. Chicken Sandwich was divine. White Pizza, thin crust very good. Really, all aspects of this visit was very good. I found the service here prompt, wait staff was very attentive. Decor is nice, open span with pizza oven taking a front seat near the back of the restaurant. Large bar off to the side. Nice patio area outside. Parking along street, reasonable size parking area on the side of the building, could get tight on a busy night. I was here on a Sunday evening, no problem

One of Atlanta's best kept secrets

By Ali D |

If you're a beer fan go here! It will not disappoint. The food is also very consistent and solid. The hot dogs are good and the burgers as well. This is the place to go to if you want that warm pub comforting feeling but a little nice, without the sticky floors and just an overall cleaner look and feel.

Left us sitting for 10+ minutes then said we couldn’t have brunch

By Jerin M |

We arrived at 3:45 and brunch ends at 4. The server took FOREVER to come to our table and when he did, it was 4:05 and said we couldn’t get brunch. So, we left. Will not be back.

Hip, trendy & casual dining in the East Atlanta Village

By RJB1215 |

Craft beers and a variety of wines, ciders and spirits. Several entree choices, pizzas and Although our meals were delicious, (rib-eye steaks) we were still a wee bit hungry. We ordered the macaroni and cheese as a side dish as well as order a Mermaid pizza to go. We were astonished to learn that they no accommodations or substitutions with pizzas. We wanted to add chicken to the pizza and they wouldn't allow it!

What a cool place

By Riis_7 |

We found this place by accident and were so happy we did. The atmosphere and decor were unexpected and quite a pleasant surprise. They served the kids 2 naked hot dogs and we laughed because they were the smallest hot dogs we'd ever seen. But they were tasty! The pizza was OK. And my turkey sandwich was delicious! Would definitely go back. Just a cool place.

Walked Out

By Steven R |

To the owners of Argosy, as an EAV resident, I was delighted that this once eye-sore of a building had been transformed into a cool, hip eatery. We had dinner when they first opened and service hasn't the best but as a former waiter, I was understanding as you were still adjusting to new business. Fast forward 3 months to our second trip last evening, we arrived to the restaurant half empty but still had to wait to be greeted at the host stand. When we were greeted, it was a, "sit wherever." Our waitress finally greeted us with a dis-interested, "I'll be back with waters." She brought the waters and with the same lackadaisical approach stated, "I'll give you some time." Not a hello, hi, how are you or even welcome. Nor, can I get you anything besides water. Not giving a simple greeting told me how the evening would was going to go and I didn't stick around for the outcome. You put a lot of work into the building and space, now channel that same effort into your service.

Delightful & Delicious

By cmmcclain |

I originally ordered the risotto, but they were out of it. My second choice was the mac and cheese, which was good! The beer & coke boiled peanuts were delicious & they even gave me a side of bread and butter pickles (which were to die for!). A great atmosphere - very "dive-ish"!

Great gastropub!

By Culturemom |

Beer, casual atmosphere, good food = great place! Saw high-end diners, parents with kids after a game, hipsters, you name it and they were there. Overall a really good gastropub to visit. One note: please get more tv"s for sports

Tons of local beer

By Kevin C |

Cool atmosphere in a cool neighborhood. Lots of local beer and craft beer. The burger was fine. This seems like a great place to hang out with friends. A very busy place so you should really plan ahead.

Perfect Example of the Gastropub

By loribees |

The menu has rotated a few times, but the wood fired pizzas are an absolute must if you step into Argosy. The drinks menu seems to be neverending, a huge hit with any beer fanatic. You can sit indoors or outdoors, though you may have a bit of a wait during the dinner rush. The dim lighting and eclectic decor provides an intimate atmosphere for any diner and time seems to just standstill.

Visited just for the Impossible Burger and glad we did!

By Cheri M |

A friend and I were at the Aquarium and needed to find a place for dinner before heading home. I have been wanting to try the Impossible Burger, but no restaurants near me served it. We found Argosy, and so glad we did! Nice location and service was great, everyone friendly and helpful. Although the menu had plenty of options we went there just for the Impossible Burger which was simply delicious! I have had non meat burgers before but this...wow!!!..tastes exactly like a burger!! So glad we stopped!!

What’s the hype???

By Rachel L |

Part of the reason I’m giving this review such low stars is sheerly based off of the hype around this venue which I simply cant grasp. 1 (Drinks): Amazing beer selection. But my date ordered a mezcal cocktail which was undrinkable. Waiter offered more ginger beer, and brought over about 2oz and charged us for it. 2 (Food): Simply, mine was burnt (impossible burger) and date’s was fine but quite unimpressive. Quinoa burger (points for vegan options) - but the whole meal was brown - brown bun, brown quinoa. Not restaurant presentable. It’s quite possible we erred by not ordering to this restaurants strengths (vegan instead of meat, cocktails instead of beer) so if that’s your style skip this stop. That said, atmosphere really was lively and eating outside is always fun.

Great waitress, so-so food

By sayshi2u |

Our waitress was great! She tried to ensure we were well cared for while a delay at the pizza oven caused half of our party to eat after everyone else had finished. So, this is a "trendy" place. I needed a translator for the drink menu. Pizza was good when it finally arrived. Seats were wooden, so the extra wait (ended up being like 45 minutes) had our tooshes aching. There is outdoor seating; we opted for inside because there are some homeless that hang out outside of this place. Atmosphere was fun! A little loud for dinner (definitely more of a bar atmosphere). If that is what you're into, you'll love it. Food was average. I thought it was a little pricy for what you get (except the pizzas-they were huge). Read the menu descriptions fully before ordering and ask questions!

What a place!

By Frank C |

Great southern atmosphere, superb friendly and knowledgeable service from all staff. Great place for visitors to get a flavor of Atlanta. Server was very fast and accommodating and suggestions were perfect. Great variety of pizzas and not your ordinary burger. Lots of great craft beers. Reasonable price. Had a great time

Gorgeous

By Ohmylorelei |

I keep trying Argosy, thinking the food and drinks will wow me. That hasn't happened. But it's the single most physically beautiful bar in the area. An impressive place! Everyone should pop in for a drink, just to see the fixtures. ANd there's nothing wrong with the food. I just haven't struck gold yet, and might stick to the burger and a beer from now on.

Amazing beer selection, unique, well curated, and damn tasty!

By JohnDJTravel |

This is one of the best beer bars in Georgia. It's amazing. To find a unique brew such a Hemel & Aarde from Brouwerij De Molen, tremendous! I've never found it anywhere outside of Holland. Just an example of the great items they have. Their pizza is also amazing, and the wings.

Shrimp and grits!

By GlitterKitty |

That's what's up. Their grits are creamy and the sauce almost reminds me of a fra diavolo sauce but they are AWESOME. Service was great. Amazing atmosphere.

Vibrant and lively

By AsicsGEL77 |

We enjoyed the option to sit outdoors on an unusually cool July evening. Smoking is allowed outdoors but there was a nice ambiance. We ordered the egg rolls, which were a little spicy but tasty. They also have an extensive selection of beers. We split a brick-oven pizza which was tasty but not that memorable. The service was relaxed and never over-bearing. If you really needed something, you might have to get your waiter's attention but he was always helpful and attentive. Overall, Argosy feels cool and youthful. The environment was just as pleasant as the food and I would happily return again.

Cool atmosphere-Good for groups

By Chelsea L |

Very interesting food! Has a earthy/organic feel that translates into the food! Large tables make it great for big groups

Superb Food, Good Atmosphere, Good Drinks

By Chia404 |

Everything here is good. The atmosphere is good, fun, high spirited. You can take a date here, grab drinks with a friend, get an awesome meal, have a going away party...it's all good here. Good for small groups or large. Great beer selection and great liquor selection.

So Cute, So underwhelming

By Alyssa J |

This spot is on trend and is absolutely adorable on the outskirts of the Grant Park area. I visited twice: The first time, they were out of many of the items I wanted so I gave them a second chance. The food is okay. The beer selection is great. That is all.

Loved it!

Visited this gem while on vacation in Atlanta. Great decor and even better food! We didn't get drinks, but the bar seemed to be a very pleasant area also. Ordered pizza and a couple appetizers. Food was amazing and service was great too!

Great atmosphere, food and price

By Simon R |

Nice, reasonably priced, place for a brew and pizza. Large seating area with a combination of sitting arrangements that can accommodate any family of group. A separate dining area, almost outside, allows for a quieter meal if desired. Food is excelled from the burgers and pizza to the Cobb salad. Service was a little slow in the beginning, but our server made up for it after the food was served. Quite a bit of off street parking, but during the busiest time s short walk might be required.

Fun Gastropub

We had a surprise party for a friend here on a Monday night, and they easily accommodated our 20+ group at a semi-private group of tables in the main dining area. Our server was helpful and competent without out being the least bit pretentious and somehow remembered what everyone was drinking. Atmosphere is chill and eclectic. You would feel at home in a cocktail dress, a business suit, or jeans and a t-shirt. Great place to hang out.

Don't let the surroundings deter you

Came here based on the menu online. Upon arrival , the surrounding area is sketchy and we almost kept going. Glad we didn't. This place has a really cool vibe and the service was awesome. We both had pizza, which was phenomenal. Glad we checked it out!!!

Great atmosphere

Sunday brunch was just okay - very limited choices. My Mexican meal was not good, (awful black beans and guacamole) but my husband enjoyed his fried chicken and pancakes. The beer selection was AWESOME! I do plan to return to partake of their regular menu.

Great food, cocktails and beer

By Aimee B |

The Argosy, in the East Village area, offers outdoor seating as well as a distinctive, eclectic interior where you feel welcome to hang out and enjoy the hundreds of beers, exceptional craft cocktails, unusual array of snacks and small plates and tasty wood fired pizza. They favor local ingredients and knowledgable servers who offer great descriptions of the food and drinks and on-target recommendations. Perfect! And where else can you enjoy an across-the-street view of a Thai restaurant next to an authentic Irish pub next to an eyebrow-threading & henna tattoo parlor, etc. surrounded by interesting murals? I would recommend the Argosy to anyone who wants a genuine experience (i.e. not fans of Chilis or Ruby Tuesdays!) and great food & drink.

Not a clean smell in a nice looking place

Weird and bad smell ruined the ability to enjoy the burger. Kind of sulphuric. Was surprised since decor is nice. Maybe would walk in again but would not drive there ever.

What a fun and memorable night

Everything about our evening at Argosy was really wonderful. The restaurant is beautiful, comfortable, cool and relaxed. The service was friendly and attentive and one of the owners even stopped by the table to explain some details about the various beers that we had ordered, and it was an amazing selection to choose from. I happily sampled tastes of my friend’s choices and every single item was unique and delicious. I had the Admiral pizza and it was the best I have had since Naples. I will definitely be back again when I am back in Atlanta.

Everything was perfect

Me and my wife had never been to East Point before so we decided on Argosy. Mainly because we had a coupon from Groupon, but also we liked the pictures and the other reviews...We went on a Tuesday around 7ish and the place was lively but not over crowded. Their beer selection was massive. I was a little overwhelmed but the waitress guided me through it until I found something I enjoyed. My wife got the drink "three blind mice" and she enjoyed it but it could have been a little sweeter. We ordered argosy hummus for an appetizer and enjoyed the selection of vegetables and pita bread that came with it. Very healthy option that didn't weigh us down before our meal...our main courses were what really shined. I had the plancha burger with bacon and it was hands down one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly, juicy and exploding with flavor. I would put it up against any burger around. My wife had the roasted chicken and loved it. It was moist and full of flavor. We both ate every bite. This is a bit longer review than I normally leave but I can't recommend Argosy enough. We will be back sooner than later.

Really Good House Burger

By Bill R |

Had lunch here today and ordered the house burger & fries and they were delicious. Properly cooked and seasoned with grilled onions on the burger it as everything I wanted in a burger. The fries were very good also, crisp outside and creamy inside. Service was fast and excellent. Very welcoming people and atmosphere. If I lived in EAV this would be a regular lunch place.

From a local: this place is amazing

By Preston B |

As a local, I thought no this place is one of the best (if not THE best) in East Atlanta Village. Great food. Really great beer list. Some must have dishes: steamed pork buns, the Cuban, and my personal favorite: the Plancha Burger. Be sure to get some of the side sauces with the fries. I like the buttermilk sauce, but they are all pretty good. Be sure to check out some of the more rare beers they have on tap. The rotate often so just ask what's popular (or if you're a beer nut like me, see if there's something you have always wanted. I've had both Founders KBS and Bells Hopslam - both very rare - here.)

Interesting beer list, ok food. Not as impressed as I thought we would be.

A group of 8 of us stopped at Argosy as part of an East Atlanta beer day. Based on everything I'd read, I thought this was going to be the highlight of the day, but it was a little disappointing. The beer list is impressive. They have a lot of beers that you're not going to find elsewhere, including a number of Evil Twin's beers (a personal favorite). But, you're going to pay a price for these. Most of the beers are in the $5-$9 range for a 8-10 oz pour. I'd like to see more $5-7 pints. The food was just ok. Two people had a pizza, which had good flavor, but was a little burnt. One person had a burger which was good. We had the eastside dip. The sandwich was ok, but the jus for dipping was not really the normal meaty jus, and instead was an oily/greasy liquid...wasn't appealing at all. Service was pretty slow. It seems like they need more staff. It was very busy on the Saturday night while we were there. The inside of the building is really impressive. It's a nice-looking restaurant.

Perfect Pizza

The pizza was a masterpiece and reminded me of my grandmother's (a true Italian) personal recipe. Friendly staff and a beautiful place to dine.

Great beer selection and fries

It had been about year since my last visit to Argosy, and it was great to return. The beer selection was top notch for Atlanta as always, and the impossible burger and fries were delicious. Excellent service and a cool space as well.

Hidden Neighborhood Gem!

By Amy R |

Husband and I recently moved to EAV and walked over to Argosy one evening. Just so great! Kale salad is just delicious and the pizza is great as well. Excellent beer list for husband and the outside dining area is so nice for warmer nights. This will definitely become one of our go-to stops in the neighborhood!

This place is amazing!

Great food, extensive beer list, good cocktails, excellent decor & atmosphere. Wonderful staff. I can always guarantee a good meal at Argosy & enjoy sitting there since this is East Atlanta's only smoke free restaurant.

Beer, booze, food & atmosphere

By Yeahyeahyo |

This is the spot for craft beer lovers, craft cocktails, best brunch and more. You can hardly miss in EAV, but for sure, check out this and the Midway, at least, and Joe's for coffee. You won't be sorry. Also, nice outdoor area as well. Interior feels like a ship/clipper. After you eat/drink, stroll downtown EAV. Note: this local pub really supports LOCAL events. You can feel good supporting them. Both locals and those from away come here.

East Atlanta's Finest!

By JmPOW |

I can only write this place on the fact I was there for a beer release party at 9pm on a Sunday. The atmosphere was incredible and the bar is beautiful. What was more surprising is that we got to go to the Backroom, which was a smaller game room with another elevated bar. I thought the place looked amazing and I will be back to try out the cuisine. If the beer selection is any indication for what the food will be like, I will be back to raise this review to a 5 star. The place was the definition of a cool atmosphere for a beer. I will be back very shortly!

Good Food and Great Atmosphere

By LoveToTravel |

I've been to Argosy a couple of times. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is great. The only thing I would improve on is the service. The staff is very friendly and helpful, but at times it takes them a bit longer than it should to get served. However, you out for the evening, so why rush it :-)!
