Service was impeccable and the food even better. Creative dishes with fish, beef and pork selections. The wine list would please any critic.

Great experience - The Tasting Menu is the way to go

By ATLTraveler89 |

We went for my wife’s birthday and went early so we could stop at the bar! Really enjoyed our visit to Aria. Bar: cool bar, very tiny, great variety on the cocktail list and some very interesting drinks as well. Wine list has some high quality options and something for everyone. Recommended Attire: Men-Button down and pants, although there were plenty of people in nice jeans and a button down as well. Some sport coats too. Ladies (from my wife)-cocktail dress and heels were the most popular but there were ladies with nice shirts, heels, and going out jeans as well. Food: We normally get several things and share but the tasting menu looked too good to pass up that night! It was a great decision. There are wine pairing options for the tasting menu as well. Definitely recommend that you do the tasting menu. One note- the tasting menu has to be done by everyone at the table, it is not something that only 1 person at the table can do. Parking: Valet is available in the parking lot on the side where the condos are. Personally I think that is the best parking option here. Parking is a bit limited when it’s busy so Uber or Lyft would be a good option too on a Friday/Saturday night during popular times (6:30-8). Hope you enjoy Aria as much as we did!!

Food was great but the menu on Tripadvisor is out of date by 3 years

By Subhash V |

The food is great...Portions are small compared to other restaurants....Service was excellent. The menu on Tripadvisor is out of date. The menu is 3 years old. There is not item with chicken now served at the restaurant. ***1/2grassroots farm chicken, chevre, lemon, sweet garlic, shoestring potatoes

Wonderful from start to finish!

From the moment we sat and had our first well made cocktail, to the last bite, it was quite a memorable experience! The food was fresh, inventive and delicious, timing and service commendable. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Chardonay in Bordeaux glass?

By strmhawk |

Went solo for Valentine's day. Good mixologist on site, and a chef who knows what appeals. The amuse was huge. Not what you'd typically expect. Well seasoned and plentiful would be the modus operendi of the Head Chef and his staff. The only let down was the late evening lobster which was a little tough but goof flavor. The bar and wait staff took care of me through out the night though I was one of the last diners of the evening. Thank you ARIA!

Check if they will honor gift card before you go!

By Fredrick G |

I have been here several time - love the staff and the food. Was not aware of ownership change. I went there tonight and I had a $200 Canoe restaurant gift card that was good for Aria and Canoe BUT they will not honor it !! Good thing I had my credit card with me. Not sure I am going back there.

Outstanding

By David F |

Great place to eat, small, romantic. Earlier in the week we ate at the Atlas at the St regis hotel this was far in away the best restaurant we have been to over the years. Bar was set very high, Aria was just as good. food excellent presentation excellent, will be goin back here the next time we are in town which I hope is soon.

Good, but not all that

By allval |

We were hoping to eat at Bacchanalia but they were booked and recommended Aria. We took their advice and enjoyed the meal, but were expecting better. The dinner was nice and the service attentive but the menu is not that inspiring and the atmosphere was a bit flat

Aria hits many flat notes on service

By amanda k |

We dined at Aria with another thirty-something couple. The food was good, though not amazing, but the service experience we had was bizarre and poor in a way that overshadowed the meal. The evening started with an over 30 minute wait for cocktails to arrive at the table. We ordered the tasting for the table, and the third course was supposed to be duck, but came out as quail with no explanation. One of our party's quail was a bit bloody, so the waiter offered to bring him another. The second quail came out raw in the middle. At that point, we asked to just move on to the next course as everyone else at the table was finished eating. We assumed they would just comp the raw quail. Instead, the manager told us we'd be receiving a complimentary pasta course which we didn't ask for or really want. Nothing happened for 30 minutes, at which point someone gave us steak knives and brought out a duck breast. Ok, fine. Then, they added sparkling wine to a random course, which was nice, but again, something we never asked for. By the time we were ready for dessert, we'd already been there 3 hours due to the slow service. But instead of dessert, they brought us a bonus sorbet course and promised dessert would be right out. 30 minutes later, nothing. At the 3.5 hour mark (the restaurant is almost empty at this point), we finally asked for the check because we didn't want to wait any longer and were so full. The check arrived and while the random assortment of stuff they threw at us without asking was comped, the raw quail was not. I understand that mistakes happen at restaurants, even nice ones, but this one was just really poorly handled. Just comp the bad quail dish and/or ask the diner who got served raw poultry what you can do to make up for it. An establishment operating at the level to which Aria clearly aspires should not randomly throw stuff at a table that traps them into a nearly four hour meal as a way to make amends. They can do better.

Birthday Celebration

By Birdtrout |

We joined three friends for dinner .... a first visit for us. I was eager as I recalled the Chef from the opening days of the Buckhead Diner. I am sorry to say that I felt that there was nothing special about our appetizers and our entrees were just ok but small for the men in our group. Might have expected to be dazzled but just average for me.

We had an excellent dinner and will return when we are next in Atlanta

By Libby in Cincinnati |

The food was excellent. This is really a nice place to dine. Server was pleasant and ambiance was clearly fine dining. $220 for 2 with 3 adult beverages , an appetizer , entree and one dessert. We would definitely recommend dining here. Everything we had was excellent. The only negative we had was the bread did not come with butter or olive oil. They said it was because it was due to the seasoning. The soft shell crab and short ribs were wonderful. The strawberry shortcake really hit the spot.

Perfect food, ambience and service!

By Mark F |

My wife and I joined our daughter and son-in-law for dinner last weekend at Aria. The restaurant has be redecorated since our last visit and it has a much warmer, friendlier feel. The food was well prepared and presented. We enjoyed a course of four gras and shared a half bottle of D'Yquem 2010 that I brought from home. Our server was knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Aria!

Classy Buckhead Dinner

By sc1009 |

My husband, son and a friend recently had dinner here. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation so we stopped at the bar and the bartender was very accommodating in our drink requests. The dining room is very warm and intimate. Service is impeccable...sea scallops, trout and lamb were excellent as well as panna cotta, lemon pound cake and ice cream sandwich. Expensive, but nice for a celebration.

Start to finish, a great dining experience

By TripTipDad |

With its changing, seasonal menu, Aria accomplishes something rarely pulled off even in a place like Atlanta, where foodies demand ever-intriguing gastro experiences. Aria lets you dine on well-prepared food, served by pleasant and knowledgeable staff, presented in a colorful and delightful manner, and includes dessert that is actually worth ordering. We found the starters (pork belly and the beef with Korean barbecue sauce) to be divine. My dining partner announced her salad was the best she'd ever eaten. Our entrees - beef and pork - were outstanding. Nothing is wasted on the plate. The portions are appropriate and far from afterthoughts. The entire plate works in concert. The chef lets you taste the actual protein instead of over seasoning or dressing with an overpowering sauce. Wine pairings were perfect. Dessert was to die for. The variety meant something for everybody. From lemon to chocolate, the desserts were creative and fresh, and the meal ended splendidly because of it. Too often a great meal ends in a dud of a dessert... not here. The service was very nice and prompt. They were very accommodating and clearly put the work in to make their effort seem effortless. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, but upscale. We were seated closer than I might have liked to others, but we found that the noise level was never invasive. Some call this cozy... and maybe that's the right way to frame it. Pricey, yes, but for a dining experience, worth the price tag. The meal was a soaring effort that left us eager to return.

40th birthday celebration for a friend

By pam0357 |

The service was excellent and everyone was very pleasant and helpful with explaining the menu items. I ordered the braised short rib which melted in your mouth! I also had the shortbread ice cream sandwich with pecans and caramel, delicious! I tried a drink called the Sovereign with whiskey, rum, and ginger. Normally, I do not drink whiskey, but this drink was mixed to perfection and went down smooth.

Great dinner for a perfect evening

By ychu30 |

Went there for the first time last weekend for dinner. The atmosphere was perfect for conversations as it was not too loud that you cannot hear the other party. We had the yellowtail sashimi as a starter and it was amazing! Then we had the sea scallops and short rib for dinner. Great wine recommendation, service was top notch and the evening was perfect. Definitely recommend for date night, special occasion or for celebrating anything.

New American contemporary

By jackiesici |

Few restaurants in Atlanta are as contemporary as Aria, yet still romantic and perfect for date night or a special occasion since it is expensive. Nice bar, nice setting, and even nicer outdoor area, only open for dinner, and had a fantastic smoked salmon with bagel chips, and duck breast.

AMAZING DINNER

By SAK954 |

We had a fabulous 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. We started with hamachi that was fresh and delicious. Next was avocado soup which we had never had. It was much lighter than anticipated and had pieced of lump crab on top. We had a very refreshing watermelon feta salad followed by seared scallops that were cooked perfectly. The next course was my favorite, duck confit. The duck was so tender and full of flavor I hated for it to end. We also had short rib that was rich and delicious. The dessert was a mousse that was light with an amazing depth of flavor without being overly sweet. The wines paired perfectly with each course. Service was spot on with the flow of each course being perfect. I would definitely dine here again when back in the area.

My New Favorite!

By Qaiser2014 |

The new year eve dinner was amazing from food to service! The course started with shrimp tempura, followed by crisped quail and fillet mignon for the main course. We enjoyed every part of the meal but the dessert was disappointing. They could improve the menu by changing up the bread (at least serve it warm) and dessert. The service was immaculate.

Original Atlanta Fine Dining

By Jeffrey J |

Back before fine dining was prevalent in Atlanta, there was Aria and maybe a couple more places for a special occasion. In the era of the Foodie, Aria still stands out as one of the best spots in the city if you want to experience something excellent. Many of the dishes on the menu haven't changed since they opened because yes, they are that good and regulars keep ordering them..

Average and costly

By Atlanta foodie and fun seeker |

I went to Aria some years ago and I thought this experience would be great like before but it wasn’t! I felt like they were trying to rush our party of 4 through our meal and for the price we should have been entitled to stay there all evening. I have had a better meal st Seasons 52 at a fraction of the price. The food was not exquisite which I expected and the service was average as well.

From Soup to Nuts

By Jill S |

We had a wonderful experience at Aria in Atlanta as we celebrated an anniversary with our children. The food has always been good, the selections were amazing. Our waitress was attentive, experienced, and oh so pleasant. She added her friendliness to our celebration. The atmosphere here is charming with white tablecloths and lovely settings. It was delightful to dine. Our compliments to Gerry Klaskala. Thank you.

Perfectly Fine Dining

By N B 3 |

Had a wonderful dining experience at Aria last evening. The dining room is lovely and intimate. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious and beautifully composed and presented. Fine dining perfected, highly recommend.

Slow and salty

By Jordan M |

Arguably the most poorly season food I had in 2019. And by for the worse dining experience I had in Atlanta. We were seated nearly 30 minutes past our reservation. We constantly had to flag a waiter down wether it was drinks, water refill, or placing orders. By the time the entrees arrived it was beyond the kitchens open hours. And the food was too salty. Salty to the point you would complain even if your loved one made it for you. Sure it could have been an off night but for the price I’d expect better control on the pass and would not risk it.

One of Atlanta's top fine dining venues

By TechYellowJacket |

This standby is often crowded but service never suffers. Interesting and varied menu, lovely setting and great service makes this a top 10 in Atlanta

Remains Strong

By BJAATL |

Food was simply exquisite. Service not at same level yet still high quality. Interiors remain stunning. Wine list extremely well done!

Aria never fails to deliver

Food was reliably superb and our experience was enhanced by an outstanding waiter, a mature Hispanic gentleman who is at the top of the mark in his profession.

First Time - Won't Be the Last

By je-m'amuse |

My first visit to Aria and the service, wine and food were excellent. I had an amazing white by the glass (two in fact) of the Albillo and it was so fragrant and aromatic. Totally delicious and I've been searching the web to try and order it (not successful yet). I felt like comfort food and wanted to try a couple of different dishes so we ordered the pork belly for the table. This was the only disappointment. It was really overcooked and tough and nothing like other pork belly I'd previously had. For a starter, I order the hamachi which is probably my favorite sushi. It was superb. There was a lot of fish yet it was light. I could have done without so much radish and sauce but the fish was generous. Finally, I wanted comfort food so I ordered the clam chowder for an entree. Yes, weird I know. But it was the best of all three dishes! Again, portion was quite large and all that warm deliciousness was perfectly seasoned and balanced. Someone ordered. dessert to share and I had a bite but I honestly can't remember what it was. So, it was literally forgettable. Or maybe I was just so satisfied with my main that it didn't imprint. Service was perfection! Warm, friendly but professional and perfectly timed. Would definitely return.

What a great find

By Vinidive |

I had tasted some of the best dishes i had recently in Aria. Food quality was amazing. Great balance. Bar service is fantastic. I would definitely recommend to friends

Great experience

By RGN_7228 |

Service is impeccable. The place is beautiful and I love how modern, yet cozy and elegant it feels. Had the tasting menu and the chef was nice enough to switch the fish dish since I really don't like trout, so we had the scallops instead...nice gesture. The sommelier asked all the right questions and helped us select the right wine...not the most expensive or the fanciest, the one he thought we would enjoy the most. As it happens, I enjoyed some of the dishes more than others, The one thing that caught my attention is that dishes were not brought in the same order they were presented on the menu. Usually I see the tasting menu as a story that is told through each dish, so if you mix it around it loses its rhythm and the flavors don't build on each other... I'd still go back, probably not for the tasting menu again, but would go back.

Ambiance, service, and food all excel

By lorifromtheatl |

Consistently excellent and enjoyable, Aria sets the bar for Atlanta restaurants. The experience is always warm and inviting. It feels like you are visiting an old friend’s place. The food is next level. I forgot to take pictures but we had the chickpea fritters, glazed carrots and pâté to start. Just lovely. My husband had the filet and it was delicious. Our friend had the sole and really enjoyed it. I had the cauliflower steak. We would order any of these again. We always look forward to dining with Aria and suggest you try it if you have not. Even if you have, it is time to go back!

WOW--- sorry I waited until last night in ATL

By Robert D |

Glad we tried a number of the small plates. Everything we had was incredible. The staff was excellent, I had eaten at some of the steak houses in the area and was getting tired of paying a lot for what was generally crappy food.

Affordable special splurge

By arjayeff |

Amongst a larger and larger selection of grand, expensive, special occasion restaurants, Aria holds its place amongst the best, but with a more moderate ( albeit still pricy) price level. Excellent food, service and decor. We try to make special occasions just to go there.

Wonderful dinner!

By Michelle G |

My husband and I had a lovely time celebrating his birthday here. The service was excellent and the food very nice. It's a beautiful space with dark colors and mirrors but it does tend to be loud. There were a few large parties dining at the same time and they tended to be loud. I would go back just for the radish salad-so tasty!! (And I don't even like radishes!) All the food was excellent and the wine selection too. We had a great night!

Elegant Dining With Friends

By hcohn31 |

My Atlanta friends picked this restaurant...great dining experience..superb service & atmosphere...welcoming & attentive staff..most interesting & diverse menu...perfect for a special occasion

excellent service in a delightful setting

By didr |

We had a late evening dinner and were delighted to have found this establishment. The menu offered many delicious choices, and we were very pleased with our selection of several appetizers and main courses. The desserts are not to be missed! Our wait staff did an outstanding job (thank you, Arturo), made us feel welcomed and appreciated. This is a high end restaurant, with an intimate (and romantic) environment, serving excellent choices for "foodies".

I will NEVER go back!!!!

By Virginia M |

Slow service, our table was given away because we arrived 15 minutes late even though we called, SMALL portions. Our server was terribly slow she took it upon herself to give us one order of the ONLY soup on the menu to split! We hated this pretentious restaurant. Steak Shapiro recommends this place with hyperbole and it's really not a nice place full of pretentious food and people! Never again!

Exceptional

By Mwilder16 |

Aria is a gem! Our 25th wedding anniversary fell on a school-night Tuesday. We wanted a special intimate setting to still celebrate since we couldn’t head out of town. Aria really is divine, and, Mercedes and Whitney and their teams always make us feel special. Chickpea fritters, beet salad, steak, Brussels, hamachi, etc. always amazing.

food great. waiter not.

By Harvey G |

This place is truly first class all around; food, ambience and service; we have dined there many times, particularly on special events. Our recent visit was a birthday for my wife, along with her mother, sister, brother and nephew. The only thing our waiter served us or apparently knew how to serve was "attitude." really not someone who should be in the service industry. when our check comes he says i wanted you to know that "part" of the tip is included on the bill". The restaurant had added slightly over 20% to the bill as his tip....do you think he was trained by Aria to make a statement like that?? the name on the charge slip was dominic.

Buffett

By mkchriss43 |

Wasn't sure what to expect from the seafood buffet. But, this seafood buffet was excellent! Some of the items in the buffet were foreign to me. But they tasted great! Don't know if any other resort can top the culinary excellence! I liked it! If I had a chance to get back to the buffet, I would have done so with no regrets!

Lovely Anniversary Dinner!

By dotters |

We were so pleased to go to Aria for our 29th Anniversary. The food was terrific and the service excellent. Hubby had a Crab Cake to start. It's served on a very unique salad. There wasn't a crumb left! I had the Lobster. There are NO words! It's accompanied with a potato puree (mashed potatoes) and a broccoli 'souffle'. The Lobster was so tasty. I had the Duck for the Entree and hubby had the Short Ribs. Both were great! We ended with an Apple Tart. Everything that has been said about this restaurant is true - it was really a lovely evening. Service was exceptional as well. We would definitely go back for another special occasion.

Great first date place for me... maybe you!

By TerrapinPaul |

I love this restaurant. I researched a dozen or more in the Atlanta before selecting this one to have a first date with my soon to be wife. The atmosphere was amazing. The decor was great. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were treated like and felt as if we were the only people there. The hostess sat us NEXT to each other instead of across the table, adding an intimate touch to a very romantic night. The meal was astounding. I had the venison. Cooked perfectly and the presentation was amazing. Cannot remember what my girlfriend had because I was concentrating too much on her eyes, buy I digress... I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to make a good impression for romance. It is absolutely a bit pricey, $150 was our ticket with NO alcohol. So save your pennies. You will for sure impress your date! Valet parking is also a nice touch.

Great a la carte and tasting menu options

By christinafung |

Early celebration of our son’s birthday. The 8-course tasting menu was delicious and we particularly appreciated the healthy ingredients they chose. Services were amazing and they put Happy Birthday with my son’s name on the dessert plate. Food came out fast. We finished 8 courses in less than 2 hours which was really good. We did not use the valet parking as we saw spots in the same parking lot.

Fine dining at its best!

By David G |

Two weeks ago, in celebration of my wife's birthday, we had dinner at Aria! This elegant restaurant now ranks at the top of our "fine dining" list in every respect. The service, the atmosphere, and of course the food were all tremendous! My wife had the Sea Scallops, and even though some people might groan at the idea of having "Three" scallops for dinner, there's no complaint to be made from that delectable choice. The scallops were exceptionally large, tender, and sweet sweet sweet, and deliciously accompanied by a perfectly proportioned mix of white corn, peas, beans, and bacon. For my dinner, I followed our server's recommendation and ordered the short ribs, and I'm very glad I did! It was the absolute best, juicy fork tender beef served on a creamy bed of potato puree and perfectly accompanied by a delicate mix of tender vegetables. All of this paired really well with excellent wines which we ordered from their nice selection of wines-by-the-glass (to accommodate our differing food choices). And although I can't help raving about Aria's food, the service here may be the star of the show. It started upon our arrival. It was a rainy night in Georgia, but who cares, when the valet greets you at your car, and then shields each of you with an umbrella as he walks you each to the door. And the service across the whole dining experience is as good as I have ever had, sophisticated, super-attentive, but discrete rather than pretentious! I love this place! Just one warning, absolutely make a reservation!

Ask for Cory and the yummy food

By soldieroflite |

This was our first time and Cory helped us with a wonderful meal experience for valentines day celebration early. The bread was really good. I have never had salt to dip in. I was looking for the butter but the salt was good. We got the beet salad and enjoyed it very much. It was very refreshing. Most of the meal was a party in your mouth with the many different flavors. The lump crab cake and cabbage was tasty. My filet mignon was perfect. And my wife's snapper was really good. And oh the dessert. The fuji apple upside down cake and the lemon pound cake was awesome. And the shery my wife had she loved.

High-style...fashionable

By SEAFARER404 |

Recently dined at Aria in Atlanta to celebrate birthday with another couple. Impressive entry, cordial greeting, immediate reservation seating. Very nice atmosphere, fairly intimate. Service was not particularly attentive, nor did server have much to offer; no comment on wine choices. Menu was expansive, with good (rather pricey) selections. Food was well-prepared, though not memorable. (Double-portion of lobster entree was disappointiIng.) Dessert was in order since we were celebrating birthday event. No mention or complimentary dessert offered by restaurant. Can't necessarily recommend. Probably would not return.

My New Favorite Classic Atlanta Restaurant

By Amanda C |

We haven't been to Aria in a couple of years, but decided to go to celebrate my birthday. I confess, I picked it because it was close by. Am I glad I did! The food, the service, the ambiance was all exceptional. We had the pork belly starter which was perfectly done...crispy and tender. Then we shared the beet salad. Delicious. We then had the foie gras and the poached lobster. Both were excellent but I'd have to say the foie gras was the star. My husband had the short rib and I had the filet. Again, both winners. The finish was the bread pudding...yummmm. The restaurant also has a very reasonable corkage fee. I can't say enough good things...including the manager we met and the hostess. Can't wait to go back.

Aria Consistently Hits the High Note

By DNARNA2014 |

We discovered Aria only a year ago. This trip to ATL, we went to Aria twice in two days. The first was a group event of 6 people who have travelled from around the world to a professional society meeting. The second was a quiet dinner with a guest and my mum. Both evenings were a delight from gastronomic and service points of view. Our favourites remain the beef ribs and the chickpea fritters. New tasteful (even exquisite) discoveries this round include the trout and sea bass, as well as the tempura octopus. Of course, the "chocolate cheesecake" remains addictive. Great bottles include the Heredia Vina Tondonia Reserva 2012 and the Toro Pintia 2013. We will always come back to Aria when in the ATL area.

Best Atlanta Dinner in a Year

By Jan_from_Atlanta |

We savored every bite of the seven course tasting menu (a great value at $76) starting with yellowtail hamachi, then the tomato soup, fois gras, mountain trout, crisped duck confit, lamb ossobuco, and a peach tart with icre cream for dessert. The service was spot on, the decor is so pleasant, the valet was super nice, so our dining experience was a 5 Star for sure. Love this restaurant.

A nice night out...

By Ken K |

The service, food, and mood at Aria was perfect for my wife and I. The food was wonderfully prepared and definitely showed some fine skills. The only issue we had was an artichoke salad where the artichokes seemed to be the third ingredient BUT the salad was still very enjoyable and well executed. So when the only thing you can say is a misstep was a hit, well, that is a good thing!

Great atmosphere, great food, great service

By Todd E |

Nice restaurant for a fancy enough dinner date. Ambiance is understated with interesting light fixtures and subtle decor. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Only drawback (very minor) is that we had ordered a starter (the korean beef kabob - which was our favorite thing on the menu) that arrived with the first course. Scallops were amazing and the lobster small plate was wondeful (best mashed potatoes I've ever had). Sommelier recommended an excellent pinor from southern Oregon. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.

Simply Outstanding!

By seafood junkie 3300 |

Where do I began? From the host to the server, My wife and I had exceptional service. It was very memorable, my wife and I had the crab cakes to start, she ordered the most divine red snapper and I had to share my duck with her ... lol. Please change nothing and keep up the wonderful work that you all do. Thanks again for a wonderful night. Amazing.

Disappointed

By Fondtraveler60898 |

Always one of our favorite restaurants until our last visit... tempura octopus was soggy, not crisp, crispy duck confit was also soggy, as well as fatty and flabby. Main of scallops at $38 had only 3 scallops. We were a group of six and they added the service charge on top of the tax, a definite no no in my book.

New aria

By MSP |

Still one of our tip top ATL restaurants! This was the first visit we had to the newly decorated spot. I normally don't like change. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I never imagined that Aria could have been improved, it was perfection already. Well, I stand corrected. The new Aria is pretty much still as excellant as before, just with a fresh breath added to it. Beautiful food still on point. Service great--the hostess (cant remember her name) made the night even more wonderful. The only con--Veuve Clicquot is not normally kept in stock.

Very nice, food, atmosphere, staff

By GL726 |

Food here was excellent. Staff was very professional. The environment was exactly as described by reviews. Definitely among the best restaurants in the Atlanta area.

Fantastic even by Atlanta foody standards

By Dawgsontop |

Worth every penny lives up to the billing. Celebrated a birthday and did the chefs tasting menu Not only was each course absolutely delicious the combination of the various items was well assembled and delivered the whole package Highly recommend A bit pricey but very very good

Great dinner

By ohip |

We were seated right away and our server, Ryan took control of th meal in an unexpected yet welcome way. He knew the menu and paired wine with our choices with ease. We felt as if we were having a nice dinner yet guided easily to a relaxed meal. Bravo

Top notch group dinner

By lawyermilloy |

We made reservations for 17 ppl on a Tuesday night, and it was one of the greatest meals I have ever had, and many of my collegues felt the same way. Great services, the starters were all fantastic, the entrees all were amazing (the steak was wonderful!), and the desserts were equally fantastic. Wine list was good, and just needs more selection for non-wine people, but that is being harsh for a fine dining restaurant.

Perfect in every way

By Andrea R |

My daughters and I had an outstanding meal at Aria. Everything we ordered was super fresh and delicious! The wine list is extensive and the sommelier suggested an excellent choice. We enjoyed everything about our evening and will be back!

Culinary Treasure

By CantonGaBill |

Had an impeccable anniversary dinner at Aria on Saturday night! I had not been since the renovation, and the new interior is simply exquisite. Although we had to wait around 15 minutes past our scheduled reservation, it was well worth it. The goat cheese appetizer ciabatta was heavenly, and my celery root soup with black truffles was a dream come true. My partner started with an arugula salad with truffle dressing, and the truffle flavor was even more divine. I had the amazing short rib for my entree, and it melted in my mouth. For dessert, we shared the butterscotch pot de creme, and they wrote "Happy Anniversary" in beautiful chocolate script on our plate. The service was warm, gracious and spot on! Aria is one of Atlanta's culinary treasures, and we can't wait to return! Thank you for a memorable meal!

Great Service at the Bar -Terrific Food!

By dcocchiarella14 |

We sat at the bar early on a Saturday. Stefano was the bartender and did a great job all evening. Very professional, very knowledgeable and very helpful. Had some specialty cocktails that were great that the bartender helped us pick out. Burrata was delicious, beet salad was amazing, and the braised short-rib (the chef;s specialty) was awesome.

Worst meal in years.

By KATHY C |

Worst meal in years. We are new to Atlanta, live nearby and went based on reviews. The entire meal was bland, not a bit of taste to any of the bites - the focaccia bread was soft but without taste, appetizer, one of the long-standing items on the menu, had too many beets that I will not eat them now for years, and Meyer lemon yogurt accompaniment was was offered sparingly; entree, another popular menu item of scallops/prawns had no seasoning or interesting taste. My husband’s meal was equally disappointing and bland with no basic seasoning or zip - he had the soup and trout. We are foodies and relocated from NYC, perhaps our expectations for a lovely meal at one of the nicest restaurants in Atlanta is too much? The ambience and service was very nice. What a disappointment in the food. We will not be returning.

Lovely dinner

By adalbert3 |

Started with a drink in their pleasant intimate bar and then had some very good food. We started with the Sashimi Hamachi, the Lobster Appetizer and the Razor Clams and all three were worthy of reordering. Our entrees were the Lemon Sole, the Scallops and the Spinalis Steak---again, we loved all three choices. My son went with the ice cream sandwich for dessert, and he only allowed me a few tastes. I like the feel of the restaurant--the decor makes one actually know they are dining in a more upscale restaurant. Service was good, but to stay at Excellent, that is the one area that could be moved up a slight notch---server was pleasant, but I prefer a higher sense of understanding of the menu, wines and overall professionalism for an Excellent. As a point of interest, the chandelier in the main dining room has incorporated glass formed from a lightning strike in to the fixture--very cool.

Excellent Special Occasion Restaurant

By MJ2E |

Really enjoyed our visit to Aria. This is a smallish, slightly quirky decor restaurant (love the chandelier and the sparkly dog sculptures) with excellent food and service. I had the beef short ribs and they just melted in my mouth. Another friend had the halibut which was excellent as well. We split the warm cheesecake. Our waiter was great - friendly w/o being overly so - very knowledgeable about the menu and wines.

Wonderful Dinner

By Alan K |

From the parking lot to the dinner table there is not one detail I would have changed. My wife and I had reservations at 6:30 PM and we were seated at the time of our reservation which was a huge plus in my book personally. Our server was attentive to our every need and made certain our glasses did not drop below 1/2 full. It was a breath of fresh air not to have to ask for anything. The food quality was outstanding and I would highly recommend the duck as an entree. As the old expression goes you pay for what you get and you cannot go wrong with this restaurant in my opinion. Our meal total for two with gratuity was $250 which included a snack, 2 salads, bottle of wine, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts.

Buzzy fun place

Would recommend for anyone visiting Atlanta. We have been here a couple of times and sometimes when its busy service can slow down a bit, but usually it is a top notch experience. Both the dishes and cocktails are creative and fun. Don't miss the tasting menu.

As good as ever!

By Debbie P |

It’s been five years, too long, since we last ate at Aria. Dinner here was my birthday request. We live in South Georgia, so a night in Atlanta is always a treat. Aria continues to maintain it’s high standards of food and staff. Mr. Kim was our server, and we thoroughly enjoyed his service and input. One of our appetizers was the Manchego cheese plate, and it was fabulous! My husband’s swordfish entree was cooked perfectly, as was my Berkshire pork. Just as tender as could be! I can’t remember what the dessert was called, a sort of chocolate cheesecake with a mound of fluffy whipped cream on the side. It was to die for! I quite possibly enjoyed it more than anything else I ate. Magnifique! Aria never disappoints. If outstanding service and fine dining are what you’re searching for, search no further.

Excellent food and atmosphere

By Decaturman |

This restaurant has a more clubby decor rather than the current industrial trend that gets annoying and loud. Service was good without being intrusive. The wine list is a bit confusing with small bottles and large bottles, etc. Listing millliters would be helpful. The beet salad, jumbo crab cake and slaw, and yellowtail were all excellent. The chickpea fritters with feta creme was good, but not that interesting. The chocolate espresso sandwich and valrhona chocolate cream pie were both excellent, but don't expect a big dessert. They were small, but very tasty. Overall, this was a great place to celebrate a birthday or special occasion.

Aria is A+

By ig0ug0 |

This is a restaurant I love to go to when visiting in Atlanta! This was our first time to go since the renovation to this popular restaurant. Our server was Dominic who was very much attentive to taking orders as well as making recommendations. When I mentioned my preference for no truffle oil, he gladly adjusted my order accordingly. I dream about their lobster and mashed potatoes in black truffle oil, which is no longer served in a martini glass but a beautiful presentation on a plate and still a fabulous dish!! I had the fish and my husband had the venison which both excellently prepared! Great choices of wines by the glass (and bottle) and glad to let me taste my preference for wine by glass. Aria deserves an A+ with little to improve upon...chef came out to introduce himself, sommelier informative regarding wines, and Dominic one of the best servers ever! A real treasure for ambience, food and relaxation!! All servers helpful, happy and eager to please! IT IS ONE OF MY #1 restaurants in the U.S.!

Fantastic place! Food was delicious, meal was well paced and service was perfect - there when we needed something but left us alone to enjoy the evening out!

Exactly a beautiful place

Loved this restaurant for the get go. Always fine food and great atmosphere. Had the tasting menu and it was wonderful.

Upscale and amazing.

My wife and I ate there to celebrate my birthday. Hands down best place we have ever been. Our waiter Kim was the best. It exceeded our expectations in every way.

Interesting atmosphere. Wait staff sub par. Food average. We live in Atlanta. Many fine restaurants here. Had never been to aria before. Expected a wonderful experience. We were just disappointed. For the money, just go to Hal’s or definitely La Grotta.

Outstanding tasting menu.

By bostonfamilydoc |

Went here with my wife for a nice dinner out when visiting Atlanta. We ordered the seven course testing menu and we were not disappointed. The menu flowed beautifully and the wine pairing was great as well. Battina (Hope I spelled it right) was a great server and paced us very well. Rest of staff was very attentive and we never ran out of water. They have valet parking.

Attention to Detail. Excellent food.

By Cohibaba |

Went with a large group of people. The service was impeccable - from the initial seating thru each course of the meal right to the end of the evening. Someone was available immediately at any time you needed attention - and made sure that you were satisfied. Excellent! The food was outstanding. My filet was cooked to perfection and extremely tender and tasty. The venison with a charred pepper crust almost seared (rare inside) was delicious! Great wine selection (with proper wine glass allocation for red vs white wines), wonderful appetizers and delicious desserts. Would definitely go back. Outstanding. Only nit - wish it was a bit brighter in the restaurant to see!!!

Fine dining but a bit noisy.

By RShereff |

Tasting menu of 7 courses well conceived, food well prepared, nicely presented, good parings of textures, flavors and colors, portions more than adequate. Short rib was amazingly rich and unctuous. The kitchen seemed more excited about the food than the wait staff--who were very efficient and professional, but not very helpful. The wine list is very good and fairly priced, but the presence of a sommelier would have been an nice addition. Noise level is high but ambience attractive. Overall, the quality of the food makes up for many of the deficiencies.

Great upscale restaurant

By Rick+Jan |

Went to Aria as it was in walking distance to our hotel. The atmosphere is excellent, as well as the hostess, and the wait staff. Menus is very limited but but also very nice. Great wine list as well. I had the slow braised pork shoulder and wife had the trout. We split a nice Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley. The visual of the plates was excellent. My comment to readers is if you want a great experience in upscale dinning you need to try. Don’t go if you complain about prices, as it is not cheap but it is worth it.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner out with friends. Aria isn't a large restaurant and we really liked that. We didn't like how loud the place was though. They have carpet down to help but could use some more noise canceling panels. But even with the noise we had a wonderful evening. I recommend the goat cheese ciabata bread as a starter. We had the beets, tomato soup, crab cake and short ribs. Everyone said it was delicious! I had the filet and it was perfect. We also had the blueberry upside dessert... Wow!

Really good food but poor service

By Tolli |

Went here with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. Everything we ordered was good but the waiter was extremely robotic and unpersonal and kept trying to upsell us on on pretty much everything which really annoyed me. Also their dishware and silverware needs updating - they look old and worn out, let alone the utensils had stains on them. Good food but not the experience you were hoping for from this upscale restaurant.

Go for the cheesecake

By Shelly M |

Went here on a Wednesday night, it was pretty busy and I did make a reservation in advance. Food and service were great. Had the chickpea fritters and short rib, both very good. But go for the cheesecake. I know you’re thinking cheesecake is cheesecake but theirs is very very good. It comes out slightly warm which was different, and then paired with the whipped cream it’s amazing.

Fine Cuisine

By KitKat |

What an awesome chef! The food is fantastic! I was blown away at the quality of the food and how well the food was prepared. PERFECTION!!! This chef needs a better restaurant to cook in. I thought the restaurant itself sort of sucked. Tables slammed together and not a good layout. Service was average. Food OUSTANDING! If your a serious foodie, you gotta go!

Excellent Experience All Around

By Dave A |

We went with another couple and really enjoyed the experience. Every phase of a dinner was as one would want it to be. We were seated on time, the service could not have been better, the atmosphere was super and the small amount of noise was not a problem at all. The food preparation, presentation and taste was second to none. The Crab & Clam Chowder starter was fabulous as were the entrees we ordered. Highly Recommended!!

Gem in Buckhead

By Dennis B |

This is certainly an upscale dining place. It is an intimate dining atmosphere. The menu choices are limited and all good. The service is very attentive. They have a sommelier to assist with wine order choice and the wine menu has plenty of choices. There are quite a few French wines offered. It is a very good restaurant for special occasion dining.

The Perfect Trifecta of Service, Ambience and Food!

By DS31322 |

My dinner reservation at Aria was a last minute decision while in Atlanta for business earlier this month. I was able to make the reservation earlier in the evening and when I arrived the table was ready and waiting. I ordered the Seven-course tasting menu and enjoyed every one of the courses. I was driving so didn't want to have the wine flight but my server did a great job of suggesting a wine that would work well with the opening courses, and another for the latter courses. The dining room is beautifully elegant, the staff clearly well trained and working smoothly as a team. Every bit of the food was delicious! I will definitely be back!

Incredible Takeaway

By Jacob Buck |

As a life long resident of Atlanta, I have heard about Aria many times. I had always meant to go, but never made it. As with many restaurants during this unprecedented times, they have started to offer a curbside pickup menu. I finally decided I was going to try Aria and did the pickup dinner last night. The process for ordering the meal and picking up were incredibly seamless and easy. The takeaway dinner easily feeds two people and is incredibly reasonably priced. By the time that we got home, the car smelled incredible and we were beyond excited to dive in. The portions for the main course were very generous and the whole meal was spectacular. We also did one of their cocktail kits, the Spruce Goose, and it was perfect. I definitely will be going in for a meal once things are more normal and will gladly do their takeaway dinner again, but I will be ordering more cocktail kits next time!

Hate to say it, but I miss the old Aria

By SandBAtlanta |

We visit Aria on special occasions and have been here many times over the years for holidays and anniversaries. We were excited to celebrate our recent wedding anniversary here and were, sadly, disappointed. They have remodeled the bar and upstairs area, which is a huge improvement, but the food is just not special or memorable :( Our server was excellent and the service is outstanding. Unfortunately, the food is very average. We had the slow cooked pork, which desperately needed seasoning, or at the very least, some salt. My husband had the venison which was tough as nails (med-rare). Unfortunately, I think we need a new spot for special occasions.

Great Atmosphere

By Bernard N |

We have been here a couple of time and every time is something special. By starting with their famous crab cake, lobster with mashed potatoes, Romaine Salad and last short rib of beef which never seems to disappoint us.

Lousy Birthday Celebration

By Foodie806 |

They are no longer on Open Table, I think I may know why. They do not want negative comments posted. After making reservations with them directly to celebrate my birthday, I was greatly disappointed from the moment we walked in the door. The manager/host did not acknowledge us and welcome us, or ask us the name for the reservation. Finally, I had to tell him we had a reservation. He then escorted us (3) to the bar and was told to have drinks and he will get us when our table was ready. We did not want drinks at the bar, but ultimately we were not getting seated, so we ordered something. I had made reservations about 3 weeks in advance on the phone and I was pleased they ask me if we were celebrating anything and I told them my birthday; I also requested a specific table. They twice called me to confirm the reservation and asked if we were celebrating anything and each time I told them my birthday. They gave us a different seat than requested so had to get that resolved. Dinner was ok, nothing special. By the way when we sat down the waiter also asked if we were celebrating anything special. My son ordered a small plate dish for dinner and the waiter (Kim) asked if he wanted a dinner portion; my son said yes; so what did they do, they brought 2 small portions..very unusual thing to do. Finally, they did not offer to do anything for my birthday. So we ordered one dessert to split. No candle only Happy Birthday written on the plate, and I paid for the dessert. When we left, I told them at the front desk how disappointed I was and the hostess asked :didn't they give you a dessert? I said no, that we bought our own. She got the manager over who was not nice when we walked in and told him. he said they did not give me dessert because we purchased one. If we had not bought one, they would have brought out one for me. I asked him why they just did not bring one out after dinner> of course he did not credit me for the one I bought. To summarize, we did not go there just to get a free dessert. We had eaten there years ago and enjoyed it, so I wanted to go there for my birthday and they kept asking me if we were celebrating anything, so obviously I was disappointed. This place has a major attitude problem, and they are disorganized. Food is ok but better places to go in Atlanta. For $250 for 3 people, you do expect better service and a manager that does not want to argue with customers. This place was a problem from the moment we walked in the door and it kept going down hill.

I would recommend

By South Shore Lady |

I enjoyed this restaurant. The menu is varied. I like that there are multiple small plates and sharing plates. We had the scallops and halibut. Both where excellent. Although warning-not large portions- not small either but an appetizer is necessary. I had the lemon pound cake for dessert. Wonderful. Service was pleasant and attentive. We would go back

superb experience

Our dinner at Aria was superb. From the warm greeting at the door to delicious cocktails to the friendly wait staff to a phenomenal meal to the delectable dessert. We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Thanks, Aria. Well done.

Over rated

By Ritu C |

6 of us we went for a birthday dinner and we made reservations for the 7- course tasting menu. Each course was average and not a single one was exclusive or eclectic. The best course was the scallops. Our vegetarian friend got the short end of the stick- the chef did not care to make any substitutions for her- just took out the meat and served her the vegetables for all but one course!! They did charge her full price. The service was also spotty. Entire experience was like we were commodities being rushed along- not what we expect from an expensive and high end restaurant.

perfect portion sized dining

By Catherine V |

The atmosphere is loud, but the other parties are not intrusive. There were several families and business groups having dinner. The staff (numerous) were pleasant, and very efficient. You hardly noticed them, but they were aware of what you needed. No push to finish. We started with brie and olives. We enjoyed the river trout with a beet salad, amazing. The octopus and foie gras, it was huge. While fine dining, it was reflective of what you were getting and you were satisfied.

Wonderful dining experience

By hbl292105 |

Dinner for 4 last weekend while visiting our daughter in Atlanta. The food and service were absolutely first rate. The dining room is very nice; noise level a little "energetic," but we didn't mind (we had no trouble having a conversation among the four of us). I would return without hesitation!

A sophisticated dinner

By Jelleyart |

We were recommended to Aria and it didn't disappoint. The food was lovely and the wine excellent. I would describe the decor as sophisticated and individual. It is the place for a smart dinner. Having said that the staff were very friendly and professional and when I asked for another table there was no problem at all and we were re located with no fuss. We dined as a couple and as visitors to Atlanta from the UK we didn't want to be tucked away we wanted to see everything and were moved to the middle - perfect. A good and memorable evening.

Not Their Best Night.....

By UniqueTravels |

Literally this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city because of their detail and excellent service but I guess the best fall from grace sometimes. Let’s start with wine service; everyone knows you pour a taste of the bottle to ensure it is up to par before you pour the entire glass! Not tonight when I corrected the server saying I would have liked to taste a sample first there was no response nor apology that she had screwed up the wine service on $150 bottle of wine that we brought in and was charged a corkage fee for! Secondly they have a full bar I asked for a vodka gimlet and they charged me $17.50 for a 2 oz drink! For relativity I have travelled all over the world and a gimlet is nothing more than the sprint, lime juice and simple syrup, I’ve never paid more than $14 in NYC for this basic drink. Knowing NYC is the highest priced market in the USA this establishment charged $17.50 for it which I believe to be outrageous. When we go to this type of establishment we expect top notch service so when we don’t get it the reflection in the tip is obvious! Because my husband has a heart he gave her $40 (much more generous than me) when she should have received $60 which was the minimum she should have received. I believe in tipping more than the standard 20% percent for good service. I’m a wine connoisseur so if you mess up my wine service I’m giving you the side eye from the beginning! Service was subpar after that as far I was concerned. In the pass I have given a great tip to servers even when the kitchen has messed up our entire order. Reason being they have exhibited excellent service despite what the kitchen has sent out which is not the servers fault. However tonight that was not the case, the kitchen was great despite any request it was the service that lacked. Hopefully this was just a glitch in the matrix but it doesn’t make me or my spouse feel great about going back for mediocre service any time soon.

Cozy feel and great service. Food was very good and presented nicely. Wine by the glass is presented for your tasting first before full glass is poured.

Awesome place

Best restaurant I've ever been too. I highly recommend the 5 course meal prepared each night differently according to the menu. Prices will run high but it is quite simply the best meal you'll ever have!

One of Buckhead's best restaurants

By Chinapjs |

My sister's favorite spot in Atlanta and it's great. The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. Understated decoration, mirrors and lighting make it a stylish place. Reservations a must. The food: duck confit with pasta a perfect first course. The fillet of sole divine, the foie grass also a sublime starter. The fillet mignonette excellent meat dish. Chocolate cheesecake one of the best ever. Outstanding wine list. Expensive but worth it especially for an important occasion.

A Perfect Evening of Fine Dining!

By Robert D |

My wife, daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Aria. We dined there on the eve of my daughter's Baptism; it couldn't have been better! Our "Shareable Snacks" included: Marinated Olives, Grilled Tender Beef w/BBQ Sauce, and a crispy pork dish. All were yummy!! But, better yet were the entrees! We had the Rack of Colorado Lamb, Short Rib of Beef, and Slow Braised Pork. Highly recommend the beef and the pork. They were unbelievable! Our waiter Robert was superb! And, a superstar named Channing called me a few days in advance of our reservation to not only confirm our reservations, but also to inquire if we were celebrating any occasion, then asked for our seating preference. Well, thanks to her, we enjoyed a perfect table! You can be assured we'll return to this special place!

Long time Atlanta mainstay still has it

By atl_trav917 |

We had not been to Aria for 3 or so years, Buckhead is not our normal destination, but we were invited to go on a Friday night. Based on this experience, 3 years will not pass before we go again. Aria was buzzing, so service was slightly slow, but food was exceptional from the appetizers, bread through dessert. And while it was not cheap, many lessor restaurants have reached a similar price point and deliver a far inferior product. One thing that sets Aria apart is the sheer variety of choices on the menu can please just about anyone, beef, fish, chicken or veggies, something for everyone. And we brought one bottle of wine with us and the corkage was very reasonable. This long time Atlanta favorite is now back in our regular rotation, highly recommend!

Consistently yummy

By Mwilder16 |

We've been dining at Aria for years. While I'm not a fan of the recent restaurant redo, the bar and lounge area is much better laid out. It used to feel like a hip NYC restaurant and the dining room is now dark and clubby and very similar to some closeby fancy, national chains. However, the staff is wonderful as is the food. The menu has also been rearranged and we love the newer options. Always fresh and delicious.

Great place for date night

By Kristi Jo J |

Super fabulous atmosphere. The food was exceptional, along with a great drink menu. The server was very attentive.

An Outstanding Dining Experience

By Kelly H |

My wife and I went to Aria with four friends. It was outstanding. The service was perfect and they allowed us to open four bottles of wine for a reasonable corkage fee.Our first courses that we shared were a perfect poached lobster , pork bellies and a mushroom soup without cream- I would have been happy to stop after those courses. However , the entrees were special- mine was maybe the best red snapper I’ve ever had served on a bed of succotash. Others at our table had the scallops, the filet and the pork- all were great. My only criticism was that the two desserts we ordered for the table were not memorable. But, I can overlook that when everything else was essentially perfect.

Definitely a fine 'special occasion' restaurant

By Jim W. |

Aria is a very upscale, 'special occasion' type place. And since this was our anniversary, it seemed appropriate. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, though I don't know how quickly they fill up. We arrived a bit before our 6:30 p.m. time slot. Parking is valet, which is probably for the best as they appear to have a small lot. The ambiance is dark/intimate. If you enter during daylight, it takes a minute to adjust to the lack of interior lighting initially. The dining room is a bit brighter. We were shown to our table on what was apparently 'anniversary row', as the 3 tables all eventually featured couples who were celebrating theirs. The wait staff is all similarly uniformed and is very polished. They know the menu, wines, drinks, etc. cold. Even given the general price point of this place, the by-the-glass wine prices were noticeably high. We opted to split a salad (which was still a hearty portion for each of us). My wife had one of the fish options and I had the steak, which was quite good. We split a dessert, which was also good. Prices here are steep, but that shouldn't be a surprise given the overall quality of the food / service / atmosphere. If you're looking for someplace to make an impression, this is a good choice.

Perfect anniversary dinner!

By Virginia S |

My husband and I went to Aria last night for our 33rd anniversary. The waiter was fantastic – attentive but not intrusive. He really knew his stuff. We got the "bread service" which is basically a pillow of focaccia from heaven – just the right amount of garlic and butter on the best bread ever. I had the scallops and my husband had salmon. Both were excellent with appropriate and delicious sides. We ate every bite! The desserts were eclectic and creative and superbly delicious. Aria will be a go to place for us from now on.

Elegant, but should re-design the dining room to accommodate loud drunks

By jtbassett4 |

A special night out for us. A place like Aria is only affordable for us on special occasions. Wonderful food, great service ... but a group of eight (8) loud drunks dampened and nearly ruined our evening. Our first time there. We'd return, but next time, we'll look for a place with a more intimate table.

Simply wonderful

By AtlantaJim |

We came here for the first time on July 3rd, 2017. A friend wanted to treat us and some of his other family and friends to dinner, price no object, and we were to select the restaurant. After shopping around using the list "Atlanta's 50 best restaurants" I settled on Aria, number 8 of 50, open only for dinner. They had an excellent selection of meats, including my favorite: duck, along with lamb, beef, and pork. In addition they had excellent and varied seafood dishes, so there was something for almost everyone, except for vegans or strict vegetarians. The wine list was also quite good. The restaurant has been in Atlanta for about 17 years, but we had never been. Our usual taste is for small, less expensive neighborhood spots. A couple of days before we went I happened to mention our plans to a neighbor who is a cookbook author, semi-retired chef and a member of Les Dames d'Escoffier International (LDEI). She responded with, and I quote: "Oh, that's my favorite restaurant, and Gerry Klaskala, the chef, is the best chef in Atlanta". She went on for about 5 minutes without stopping. I realized then that my luck in picking Aria had been on the money. One thing we wanted was a casual atmosphere (i.e. NO COATS, TIES or DRESSES required) I had called Aria early on, and I actually spoke with the pastry chef who just happened to answer the phone. She spent 10 minutes telling me about the restaurant and that was what really sold me. I won't go into each meal, other than to say that no one was disappointed. I had the lamb, and it was the best I've ever had. We all want to go back. I'm guessing that, including wines and desserts we each spent north of $100, some of us far north. Susan and I did not stint, having a before dinner drink, wine with the meal and port and espresso along with dessert. We weren't driving. Had we been, our beverages would not have been so extensive. Check the menu on their Web site. It's very descriptive and pretty accurate.

Flawless!

By newenglandbred |

The food is excellent here, but what puts this restaurant on my top 10 list (globally) is the service. Rarely is service executed at this level. From initial greeting with black napkins to the last clearing, every restaurant could learn from Aria.

Another fabulous meal

Went to Aria for my birthday dinner and did the pre-fixe menu. Its pricey especially with a couple of bottles of wine but how fabulous. Every course is well thought out and delicious.

Dinner with CoWorkers/Friends

By Warren K |

I’ve lived in Atlanta thirty years and I’ve only eaten at Aria once or twice. Not sure why because the food was excellent last night. We started with appetizers which included Korean barbecue andfried crab. We had cocktails and Drew Pinot Noir. Then on to halibut followed by ice cream for dessert. Service was friendly and attentive. We all had a wonderful evening.

Mediocre at best

By Victoria D |

Amazed this restaurant was as full as it was. The food is very run of the mill, prices very expensive, atmosphere lovely. But overall there are so many better restaurants in Atlanta that I would definitely pass on this one

Special fine dining experience

Great atmosphere, fun people and great food. The Spinalis was a tremendous cut of beef that I really enjoyed. This a restaurant is one where the guests are dressed in appropriate attire for the special food and service that is provided. Save room for dessert.

Anniversary

By harristina |

Service was impeccable and the food and presentation outstanding! The only negative, ladies be careful wearing your heels coming in the front entrance of the restaurant, the stones have a gaping holes. We felt celebrated and will definitely dine here again. I would definitely recommend the short ribs for sure!

One of the best meals of my life

By TAS35 |

An excellent restaurant and dining experience. The service was great, and the meal was one of the best I've had in my 60 years of life. While definitely on the high-side price-wise, it was worth it and I recommend it highly when you're in Atlanta! The menu changes daily. I had the lump crab cake for appetizer - it was the best I've ever had, and I grew up near the Chesapeake Bay! I ordered the venison medallions for my main course and it was better than my own venison steaks - cooked and seasoned to perfection. Desserts were shared around the table - my favorite was the pineapple upsidedown cake with coconut/lime ice-cream - not to be missed!

Everything great, gluten-free no problem

By Jean H |

Great atmosphere, not too loud, excellent service. Really amazing food - the pork belly appetizer was killer. Excellent octopus tempura. Almost everything on the appetizer and mains menu was gluten-free for my celiac son and husband. Price seemed moderate for the quality. Will definitely go here again.

All is important

By gscullyf |

First impressions make it seem that booking in Aria was a mistake. Valet parking that ignores you and seems mute: does not say hello, says nothing. Hostess that tells you to wait because your table is not ready, you ask: how long it will take? And in a rude way she tells you that she doesn't know, that it depends when the previous customers finish the dessert. And so? What are reservations for? We asked for the tasting menu and they inform us that they didn't print it tonight !? Wine list: Short, almost non-existent, we didn't know the sommelier. Anyway the Nebbiolo we ordered it came out very good. The night is rescued by the incredible service of the Mexican countrymen and the Venezuelan waiter. The 7 dishes and dessert impeccable and excellent presentation. In the order what I liked: Short Rib, Trout, Vieyra, Duck. very good! If they correct everything would be better!

upscale with well deserved accolades

By mlesser1 |

I was there on business and we ordered the prix fixe menu for everyone at the table...the menu items change daily or weekly, but all were great! When it came to the meat entrée, one at our table was a vegetarian, so they served her lobster...that is First Class! Service was outstanding and the seven different items were perfection....only negative was lack of Stella Artois beer... Definitely recommend as this is a great experience with a new chef/owner..

A Great Choice in Atlanta

This was our first visit to Aria. We were not disappointed. Great craft cocktails and great food. The chef was very accommodating on some of our vegetable preferences. We will be back!

Hmmm

By Carol OConnor-Zeinz |

Ok, so flew into Atlanta on Saturday 3/27. I had made a reservation for Aria a while back before our trip. Long story short, our flight was changed and then delayed. Once we landed and got our rental car (an hour to get our rental car), I called Aria and said we were running latest why. They said no problem. Traffic was bad, we called Aria again, and said we'd be there by 8:15 p.m. Mind you, we've not even checked into our hotel yet. We drove straight to Aria. My husband changed his shirt in their parking lot so we'd be presentable. We walked in and said who we were and were told there were no tables available yet. I mentioned our reservation time was 8:15. The hostess looked at her watch and then using said, it's 8:16 p.m.... Seriously, who does this? We were courteous and called several times to say we were delayed. The waiter was great as was the food, but the reception from the hostess left us both really not wanting to go back.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE WILL BACK!

By Jenee' H |

Me and my newlywed husband ended up eating here as part of our honeymoon journey towards home. Not only did we get a beautiful dessert congratulating us, but our waitress Bettina was amazing! We did the tasting menu with was 8 courses and it was ALL amazing. We left my husband's hat accidentally that night and we were SO upset we got it out of the country on our honeymoon I immediately called and told them. They offered to mail it to us since we didn't live local. The owner personally called me and mailed it priority to us! We will be back for sure they went above and beyond! He was happy he got his hat back and able to wear it :) THANK YOU for everything!

A great place now SNOBBISH

By Kim D |

This used to be one of Atlanta’s greatest fine dining restaurants. Recently dined with friends for a special occasion - a 65th birthday celebration. Slightly delayed by rain and heavy traffic. Called to let them know we’d be slightly late and we were threatened with the loss of our table if we weren’t there in four minutes. Our server was great. The food was excellently prepared. But towards the end of our meal, one of our guests went to the bathroom and the bus staff removed their chair! They started taking our water and wine glasses before we were done with them (half full or more). Then our napkins were taken as we were rudely pushed out. Then the table cloths were removed! Go if you like but make sure to ask how long you have to dine before they get rude and show you out!!

Dina's birthday dinner, Kinnaman

By JohnKinnaman |

This was our first visit- lovely restaurant in an area with many fine places to dine. Beautiful decor. Great bartender. Waiter, Cole, was great. Very interesting menu, with fun mixes of regular and small plates. The octopus small plate, the spanalli (sp?) beef and seared four gras were highlights. This is areal keeper in Buckhead.

Special Birthday dinner

By SweetnSassyCasi |

Aria is amazing! The food is delicious and the staff are top notch. They made my birthday special. We had the lobster, duck and chicken. I would highly recommend, it's worth the money.

Just ok

By Cafoxmd |

The maître d' rushed us through our drinks. The waiter was very weird and long winded. The Crabcake was fried and the scallops had no taste. Their signature appetizers were nothing special

Perhaps our best dinner in Atlanta

By Breno L |

Nice place, discrete decoration, very good and eficient service and fantastic food Foie gras at the precisely point, excelent lobster and delicious soft shell crab . Ad to that an excelent Menetou Salon from the good wine list and you'll have the recipe for a perfect night Don't miss it !

Bland and overcooked

By Susan |

Salad was just OK, nothing tasty about it. Trout: the first words out of my mouth when I tasted my sister's trout was "It's so bland. It's like the chef didn't even use salt and pepper." And when I tasted the bourbon Chilean salmon I had requested to be medium rare, it was overcooked and bland. The waiter asked if he could bring us out some bread and I said sure. He never said he would be charging us for that. The Atlanta Fish Market doesn't charge for bread and butter. Nowhere on the menu at Aria does it say bread and butter and cite a price. The Georgia trout was $48 and my salmon was $38. I would expect outstanding fish for that price. I would have had a better meal and far cheaper meal had I gone to the DeKalb Farmers Market and bought fresh Georgia trout and fresh salmon and cooked it myself. Last year, I had an excellent meal at Aria's sister restaurant: Canoe. It had been a few years since I had been to Aria. I won't be going back.

Terrible from start

By a o |

We love this restaurant. Food was very good, as always. That said, this visit got off to a terrible start from which it never recovered. We had reservation on a weeknight and arrived on time, yet were not seated for 35 minutes. I inquired about our table twice and was told both times “just another minute, we are getting your table ready.” T’was not so, and they were unapologetic for the (unexplained) delay. Had it not been for the excellent bartender, we would have left. Unfortunately, the troubles continued when we finally got a table: we sat down to three nasty water glasses. Then, when we tried to order an appetizer we were told we could not do so until we were ready to order everything. And, when we finally got our orders, one of them was wrong - somehow a “no mushrooms” request resulted in extra mushrooms. Our server was fine, but the damage was done. Given the plethora of great restaurants within a mile of here, not sure I will be going back to Aria.

Excellent and worth every penny

By Alex K |

I'm not sure why some people are saying that this restaurant is overpriced. It costs the same as any other high end restaurant and we all know that you get what you pay for. Everything that we ordered was yummy and the services was great. The grilled tender beef in Korean bbq sauce and the yellowtail hamachi were great. The slow cooked pork was amazing. They even accommodated my two kids. This restaurant is a must visit.

Great vibe with some limitations

By ashvinraj |

What I’m comparing it against: fine-dining places in mid-market, mid-size cities. Vibe: This is a decent place for the most part. First, the interior is beautiful and exactly what I like in a place of fine-dining—muted lighting, minimal music and intimate little areas here and there. I especially like the seats when you first enter, several “two-seaters” (one person in a booth, the other in a chair) next to an intimate but somewhat spare bar. There was a statue of a dog that was speckled with what appeared to Jolly Ranchers, but I could be mistaken. Strange dog aside, five stars for the interior and vibe. Food: This place has a great wine list, both by the glass and beyond. The menu is interesting in a good way—it’s not arranged in the traditional “small plates at top, entrees in the middle and desserts at the end.” Instead, seafood is grouped in one category, with those in BOLD PRINT being entrees. Same goes for meat entrees. I ordered a braised lobster small plate with some type of broccoli puree. It was decent enough—lobster was not very tender, but you can’t expect too much if you’re not a coastal restaurant. I then ordered a slow-cooked pork dish (Berkshire?)—this is the not so good part. First, two other dishes I wanted were no longer available (I got there at about 10pm), so I got this one. It was served with a glaze that was overly rich/sweet and eventually made me a bit nauseous. There was some ravioli on the side filled with spinach and cheese that was wonderful...wish there was whole plate of it. Overall, food was three stars. Service: Good enough. Server had a contrived personality and seemed a bit scripted, but that’s probably more a reflection of present society than Aria itself. He was competent enough—no complaints. Overall: three stars, dictated mostly by the food. The only other nice place I’ve been to Atlanta is Eugene, and I would put Eugene firmly ahead. Strangely enough, I could see myself coming here again, though. If I was in Buckhead at night and wanted a chill spot to grab a drink and perhaps a small plate or dessert, I could see coming here because the vibe is so nice…just have to make sure I don’t look in the direction of the dog statue.

Nice night out

By tlwld |

I enjoyed my night out at Aria, but I’m not rushing back. The food was good, but nothing I feel the need to talk about. The service was very good and attentive.

WOW

By Jose V |

Hands down the best restaurant in Atlanta. Have been going there for close to 20 years and always walk out with a big smile on my face. All that a fine restaurant should be with a vibrant atmosphere.

Worthy of Reputation

By DNARNA2014 |

For those of us that have eaten at the best restaurants around the world, Aria is worthy of its reputation. The service was impeccable in every way (including how quickly they first engage and the replenishment of water). We had the arugula, endive, mushroom shavings and parm salad - incredibly well balanced. Did I say the foccacia was light and airy and not oily? We then shared chickpea fritters which lay on a bed of tzaziki (with spiced feta) but the fritters (falafel) was so light and beautiful. Both the salad and fritters paired beautifully with the Austrian rose barbly and the barolo (2012 Bavio), though the complex pairing was with the latter. Finally of course we had to have the beef short ribs - outstanding balanced fall apart tender - paired wonderfully with the barolo. And the dessert - the warm chocolate cheesecake as noted at this site - yes, exquisite, like nothing we 've had before and paired well with a shared Banyuls. We were here on a mini vacation -- Aria made us wish we lived in Buckhead. We shall return

Great bar ... great staff ... wish food was same standard

By Sue_near_Boston |

Honestly the staff made this restaurant a joy. Nothing was too much, and they continually checked back with us to make sure our needs were met. This restaurant has a small number of tables, with an elegantly designed interior ... although my husband and I both thought the central light fixture was reminiscent of a scene from the Alien movie ... kinda creepy. The foie gras was DELICIOUS ... but the other dishes mediocre and I found the pork dish to be simply too large. We had a great time here ... a nice elegant restaurant in the Buckhead district.

So happy we celebrated our anniversary here!

By redatl |

We saw Aria on Atlanta Eats and said "this is where we should go for our anniversary!"and we did. It is a small place with a very quaint bar which is kind of dark in that area; the restaurant part is very open & actually smaller than it looked on TV. Very fun decor though - agree with other reviewer - love the chandelier and sparkly dogs! Stefano, the bartener Sat evening, was WONDERFUL! Both professional and personable - not snobby at all - and was happy to share his knowledge of wines with me and let me tastes a few to help me find the right one...so nice! Our server, J.R., was very cool too - again, very knowledgeable and helpful, but not at all overbearing. Also - EVERY server walked around and checked out your table to see if anything could be removed or if you needed anything. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this type of service. I think this is how it should be everywhere. Makes for a lovely experience. We got 2 apps: the tenderloin in the Korean BBQ Sauce - phenomenal - and the brie w/strawberry preserves, wonderful. Then we had the fried zucchini blossoms with a ricotta puree...they tasted grate, however they were a teeney bit greasy. Husband got the filet and while he said it lacked a little bit of seasoning, it was cooked a perfect medium. We normally have problems, no matter where we go or what we pay, in getting a perfect medium on a filet. The crispy brussels were really tasty too. I had the shortrib which was wonderful, though a teeney bit fattier than some I have had, on top of perfect mashed potatoes and julienned squash. We went with the chocolate cake for dessert...this was a perfectly portioned round spongy cake topped with a chocolate pudding-type filling and then topped with a cannelle of chocolate ice cream - really great! I thought they would comp our dessert since it was our anniversary, but they didn't. Not an issue - it's just pretty normal, even at high-end places to do so. We had a wonderful table that gave us a view of the whole dining room and it was fun to see what everyone ordered. Overall, a lovely experience that we would definitely recommend.

Not handicapped accessible

By EasternShore G |

Aria is not handicapped accessible. The servers are snobby and do not know about food. The dessert tastes bland, like it has been frozen and then defrosted.

Feels like everyone knows your name!

By Lou375 |

Greeted by a wonderful Valet staff only begins the journey of this amazing dining experience. The hostess, Mercedes, greeted my friends as expected when you come back in as a regular. She was funny, welcoming and as a first timer to this restaurant, I knew I would be for a grand experience. I was correct! Hi, enjoy and be amazed at an Atlanta gem!

Excellent!

By W8041XFkathyc |

Love this place. They have an eccelltic selection of food. Not your average restaurant. Location is kinda out way and outside doesn't reflect what you find inside. Would definitely recommend for couples, business dinners, friends etc.

Wow--Old Favorite Even Better!

By Judgefoodie |

We had not eaten at this longtime Atlanta restaurant in quite some time. Seems like there is always a new place to try. But my husband and I decided to return the other night. We could not have been more pleasantly surprised. It was the best food I have in eaten in Atlanta in a very long time. The beet salad was exquisite. The Meyer lemon yogurt was a perfect pairing with the red and golden beets. I followed with the duck that was mouthwateringly delicious--served with apples, carrots, turnips and Brussels sprouts. All cooked perfectly. Portions are ample but, with some help from my husband, I did manage to enjoy a dessert. The lemon pound cake was superb. Prices are reasonable for the quality of this food. The wine list, however, is expensive. You cannot find much of anything for under $60. Wines by the glass may be the better course of action if you want to keep the tariff under $200 for two. But by all means dine here. The food was superlative.

Dinner with friends

By Chini A |

First time here, definitively will come back. Food was tasty and portions were good. Service was gentle. Ambiance was nice, I would have added a little more light. We did have to wait for our table for a while, we had dinner at the very end of the night.

Wow, just WOW!!!!

By peter w |

My wife and I went to Atlanta for her birthday and we had a very strong recommendation from a good friend to try Aria , promising we would be blown away , and that ended up being an understatement !! We are no strangers to fine food, but this place rocked our world with a great atmosphere, classy but understated, dignified yet casual. The staff was incredible , handling the crowd with an ease that made a packed house feel intimate. The drinks were fantastic and the unique menu was out of this world. Truly the best we've had in Atlanta !! Slightly pricey but due to the whole experience , it didn't feel bad at all- we would have paid more !! Thank you Aria for a great birthday night for my baby !!

Fine Buckhead eatery

Aria is a great dinner spot. Service is always great and the unique bar is cozy and intimate....with great bartenders. Food is a nice mix and their seafood is particularly fine. A little prices but worth it. Great décor through out.

One Of the Best Restaurants in Atlanta

By Mary Z |

We have lived in Atlanta for a very long time, and there's one thing we know for sure: many of the "top restaurants" that make the best of lists every year don't necessarily belong there. We've been waiting a long time to finally make a reservation at Aria for our wedding anniversary, and we are so glad we did! First of all, we loved the atmosphere of Aria. It's a very elegant place, yet we feel like we could dress up or wear jeans and be comfortable. Once we were seated, we ordered drinks and with those drinks, the most incredible, soft, buttery bread was brought out. As a cook and baker, I felt that this bread was just the perfect combination of softness and buttery texture. This was a lovely first welcome to Aria. My husband had the scallops with vegetable and they were incredible, large scallops, and a tasty corn, green bean and tomato mixture, beautifully plated and delicious. I ordered the filet mignon with potatoes and spinach. This combination was spot on, and the steak was cooked perfectly. We ended the meal with one piece of chocolate cream pie, which was really good! We truly believe that Aria is one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, and we will be back.

Amazing, great cuisine

By Juan Caminos |

I had one dish with black truffle as main ingredient and I'm not dissapointed at all (in many restaurants they don't put enough of it). Service is great but not hovering. P.S. Great selection of wines!

Just a fabulous restaurant

By Jeffrey B |

We have not been to this restaurant in quite some time. Now I’m sorry I waited so long. The food was extraordinary truly. Our waitress was attentive and informative. The ambience now is quiet and quite luxurious. This is the place for fine dining.

Special occasion

By mfranke770 |

Wonderful restaurant, great food, great service. The lobster and potatoes appetizer is tops. Wine is very expensive, the only negative.

Aria

By Girish I |

Well designed The location is great, 10 min away from Sula Vineyard. We really enjoyed the infinity pool.. It was 6 pm when dusk drew close for us to see colourful clouds at sunset from the deck of the resort. A heavenly environment, with diners praising the amazing nature joined by the rising moon. Because the resort was new there was very little food on the menu and room service was not an option. The expenses, food/beverage, view, chit-chats 'n weather were all satisfying. Sweet and memorable.

Perfection as always at this high end top Atlanta resraurant

By Katie B |

I ate here last night for Valentine's Day. There was a prix fixe menu of $95 per person. The food was outstanding. It is the best in Atlanta in my opinion. We had a prawn amuse bouche in a wonderful sauce, I had lemon sole that was incredible and a lobster salad. The dessert plate had 6 different chocolate desserts. The sommelier assisted us with a wine that went perfectly with our meals. The quality of the food and the outstanding service makes this my favorite Atlanta high end restaurant.

Excellent

By Diane M |

The food was delicious and the customer service and wait staff was surpurb. I’ll definitely eat here again!

Nice date night restaurant

By David R |

I have eaten at Aria many times. The food is fresh and creative and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Valet parking is provided. One of the bright spots in the Atlanta dining scene.

Great Restaurant

By everett32 |

Our daughter took us to this place, where we agreed to share the tasting menu. The food was excellent and the service was superb! It is a relatively small place but the servers were able to maneuver and serve every course perfectly. I would strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Aria

By Travelsw/me |

We love Aria and have been multiple times. The seven course sampler is great and allows you to try all kinds of different foods but it is a lengthy experience so make sure you have the time. Wait staff is always amazing and accommodating.

For my Foodie Friends

By Susan F |

My boyfriend and I planned a "mini vaca" to Atlanta and we researched restaurants that offered "tasting menus". we wanted to experience what the Chef had to offer in a few bites on a few plates. Well, needless to say, we were very impressed. from the ambiance, service and menu it was absolutely stunning! The Chef is a master of his craft and the food was prepared beautifully. I highly recommend making a reservation and creating the experience for yourselves.

Most Romantic in ATL

By PinkTea3 |

Booked a reservation in search of a romantic dinner and Aria did not fall short. It was an amazing experience. We arrived 15 minutes earlier and was seated at the bar. The hostess and bar staff was very accommodating. We were seating shortly after reservation time. We ordered the snapper bites for an appetizer. We wished it was an entrée- DELICIOUS. On recommendation of our server- we both order a braised meat seeing she said that was the chef's specialty. We ordered the short ribs and the pork. Excellent choices. Well seasoned and very tender cuts of meat. We chose to share the warm chocolate cheesecake for dessert. If you can only order one menu item, make sure it is the warm chocolate cheesecake. You will thank yourself later. It is actually a warm cheesecake with a chocolate swirl . I consider myself a cheesecake connoisseur but I have never experienced a warm cheesecake. The server said they have tried several times to remove it from the menu but customers will not allow them too. I had a cocktail that was delicious at the bar but chose the Mint Lemonade during dinner. My companion order one also. The right combination of mint and lemon with a fizz. Loved it. The restaurant is very dimly lit and the noise level is medium but not so loud that a conversation can't be enjoyed. This is at the top of my Atlanta favorites now.

Great food, great setting, very enjoyable.

By Barnesms |

Great food, great setting, very enjoyable. It had been a while, but had another great experience. The food was great (I had scallops), the service was equally great. Good food, drinks, and service.

Romantic, elegant and good

By rem230 |

The Bar is small but elegant. I strongly suggest the orange drink. Food and service are a 10. No need to say much more.

Nice traditional service

By Roadster2015 |

A friend was telling me so long to go there for dinner. So we got together a few friends and made a reservation. The restaurant is very traditional in style and the service is also with tablecloths and very formal. However, it was just a pleasure the whole evening and we really enjoyed both food and service. The only reason for 4 stars is that most of the food was good but nothing to surprise you and WOW a guest. The bartender is top notch!

Stupendous service, phenomenal food, calming ambiance

By Jeff B |

My wife and I went here to enjoy our anniversary dinner and we were beyond blown away. As two professional fine dining servers and sommeliers it is hard to find a relaxing dining experience, they are few and far between. From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we drove off, I was delighted by the friendly service and calming atmosphere they had created for us. The wine list was extensive and well thought out thanks to the pair of level two sommeliers on premise. The tasting menu we ordered was fantastic and the server and chef were so kind and accommodating as the substitute the lamb for their fantastic venison dish, as I dislike lamb. The dessert was texturally pleasing, rich, yet not too sweet and was the perfect thing to end our meal with. They were even so kind as to write happy anniversary on our plates. We will definitely be enjoying many more meals here with friends.
