Well deserved reputation for Excellence

By Rolandtz |

While visiting our daughter in LA, we met our nephew at Aroma for brunch. Both the food and service were outstanding. Do not let the long waiting line discourage you, it moves quickly. As is common in LA, parking is an issue but off street parking is available if you are lucky. The prices are typical of LA but the quality is sefinitely a cut above.

Really good vegetarian/vegan breakfast

By imd321 |

Really enjoyed breakfast here. The shaded outdoor area was a really nice relaxed place for breakfast. The food was excellent; we really enjoyed the pancakes, and the breakfast sandwiches. The portions are very large. The ordering and service is a bit chaotic but really worth visiting.

One of the Best Date Places in Los Angeles!

By BackRoadsUSA |

Intimate, indoor/outdoor seating-quiet corners, outdoor seating, and lots of tasty selections!Quiet and larger tables in back for larger groups. Patios are covered in plexiglass so IF it ever rains still seating! At least 8 different kinds of chocolate cake alone.. hot tea, coffee, espresso and then of course breakfast and lunch choices! Metered street parking- a few lots a couple of blocks away- open late until 11pm Order at the counter and find a spot- they find you !

Very Average, poor service. Not at all worth the long queue

By Loladex |

The menu sounded great and we went based on the good reviews on trip advisor. It was a Saturday morning and the queue was quite long to order, which you have to do before you get a table. The waiters gave people in the queue a menu as you got closer to the counter but we weren't given one so had to resort to looking at the menu on the website. I ordered something which came with asparagus and asked for extra sauce. The asparagus didn't arrive nor did the extra sauce. We also ordered before the table that sat beside us 5 minutes later than we sat down, yet they were given their meals 5 minutes before us. Overall not impressed. No apology from the waiter either for not bringing the asparagus or sauce, just said its not available and would I still want the sauce, well I'd paid for it so of course. Definitely wouldn't go back. There were several nice looking cafes on the same stretch so plenty of options. The food was fine tasting. Nothing spectacular, but good, but the overall experience wasn't good hence 2 stars.

Great lunch with my GF

My first visit was quite tasty. Darling location and decor, very pleasant staff and wonderful chance to catch up with my longtime friend, Wendy.

Dine and shop

By AndreaMichaels1214 |

It's the perfect weekend stop for brunch though I would not rule out lunch or dinner. Set on a cute little block of shops and restaurants it is a very European experience. Patio dining is lovely or even sitting on the street brings to mind a Paris bistro. It is dog friendly as well. Food is fabulous and the bakery is mind blowing.

Delicious

By robaby424 |

Very cool restaurant. I had the cobb salad, my friend had the tuna sandwich with fries and my other friend a smoked salmon dish from the breakfast. Huge portions and really good service. You can bring your lap top and it's a nice place to hang out. They have a really nice patio if you like eating outside.

Great Breakfast, wonderful coffee

By TRAVELJUNKIES01 |

We went for breakfast and were not disappointed. The Salmon Stack (smoked salmon benedict over a potato pancake) was divine. Others had variations of benedicts as well and raved about their meals. Cute place with indoor and outdoor seating in an old house that has been converted. The service was good, food came out quickly and was terrific. Highly recommended!

Fun Neighborhood Place with Good Food

By Nancy D |

Such a lively place with good fresh food. Huge portions. Typically you stand in line and order, and food is brought to the table. They actually pulled out of line today, took us to a table and took our order there. It was so easy. They didn’t rush us to leave. Lots of outdoor seating, which is great during Covid times. Also plenty of free street parking in the neighborhood that allows for two hours.

Really lovely place for breakfast

By paolok66 |

Another fantastic place in the valley ! You order the food the counter and pay and go and choose your table in the amazing garden . Sunday late morning was pretty busy but the line was quite quick . Great cappuccino and for once no a scolding one ! Vive it a try !

Tujunga Village Scenester Spot

By Jocelyn1157 |

When I have guests from out of town we always walk to Aroma Cafe. It's a great way to get the cool LA vibe in the Valley while walking through the neighborhood that is home to The Brady Bunch House. The food is generally delicious, servings are large and calorie laden - it never disappoints. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is that I'd love to see more healthy salad options. That said, I can always count on the salmon salad. Beautifully grilled and a nice large portion of salmon on a huge bed of field greens with dressing on the side. One small disappointment from Aroma is the bread offered. The roll that comes with the salad is always dry. With such great breads available in and around LA, this would be an easy fix!! A super big treat is to oogle all the yummy cakes and pastries as you come up to the counter to order. But watch out, we are talking 10,000 calories for one of these desserts!

Great food, location, and coffee

By Aline |

This is one of my favorite spots in LA whether it's for lunch, dinner, or a coffee. I LOVE going to this place. It's a very chill spot with good food, yummy desserts and good coffee. Try to get a table in the backyard.

They don't care about food here

By artpulse |

2 stars only because of the atmosphere. The food sucked. I ordered the bruschetta Benedict and got unadorned bread with a glop of melted mozzarella and a cardboard tomato. My fellow diners had similar unthoughtful food and potatoes that were undercooked and tasted like dirt. This place clearly doesn't care. Don't buy the hype.

Scrumptious

By Ruthie Flynn M |

Lots of yummy selections to choose from. I recommend the chicken pesto panini and rosemary potatoes. Large shaded outdoor patio and comfy indoor space. Friendly service and ample servings.

Still like it, but...

By pnktypn |

They need serious cashier organization. It is a mess. Still good foods, friendly staff, but the atmosphere is getting so commercial. No neighborhood charm felt anymore.

Tasty and local

By halsocal |

Great food and fun ambiance. From friends who live in the 'hood to celebrities taking a break between shoots, Aroma always delivers a unique and sumptuous experience.

Great Neighborhood Find -.

By Nancy D |

This place should be on your radar. It's fun and the food good. It's on Tujunga Ave - a sleepy block filled with cute shops in Studio City. You'll enjoy strolling this area. Here, you stand in line, order your food and it is brought to you at your table. The dessert shelves are filled with sweets you absolutely drool over. Chances are if you visit Aroma for a meal, you won't have room for the sweets. So - plan a visit for cake & coffee. The meal portions are huge. The food is good. There were three of us together today - & it was disappointing that are food was NOT brought out together. In fact, each of us was almost done (worrying about our meals getting cold) before the next meal showed up. Not even two of our orders showed up at the same time. Mine was the second out...and frankly, the potatoes were hot (and maybe a little undercooked) and the toast on the egg sandwich was cold -eggs warm. Bacon is very tasty here. So, today they performed less than a "5". I still like this place a lot. Great atmosphere. If you need a foodie gift, there are lots of options in the order area. They have varying sizes of Vermont maple syrup in cute containers. Various types of jams and caramel candies are also wrapped attractively. Worth the visit.

L.A. Vibes, Good Food

By Sheila P |

One might chance upon a celebrity here. Good food, good service although could be a little too busy at times. So L.A.!

Wonderful!

this place is a jem, great place for breakfast and lunch wonderful, friendly, and helpful staff. when in town you need to go to this place for a real LA feel.

Those Salads! Those Breakfasts!!

By Tari K |

A Quaint, Lovely, Small Café Style Restaurant in the heart of Studio City. This is definitely our GO TO Spot when we need to come to the "NOHO" District!! Worth your time! 5 Stars!

Not this time

By rodjan5 |

Have always love Aroma and hit it Everytime I am in town. This time I order the crispy chicken wrap and it was just so so. Not much chicken and tons of onions units place so was just not as good as the other dishes. Still a great place but not this dish.

Brunch with friends

By cinf4 |

All was delicious & good service too with pleasant atmosphere. Looking forward to going back again soon.

We Want to Clone This Place

By ROBERT I |

We Want to Recreate This business “back East” but weather won’t permit that. The flow includes an entry room for ordering plus outside tree-covered patios that wrap around 3 sides of the building. There is also indoor seating. Breakfast doesn’t get better than this. Omelettes, pastry, pancakes and more. Great coffees, etc. LA weather makes this place work. Quality foods, very good table service and the ambience make this place just great.

Nice breakfast and outdoor seating

By BoySue |

Nice breakfast and outdoor seating. After the quite stressfull ordering at the counter we sat in the werry nice back yard/garden. Werry good meal and fast service. Good espresso (without sweetening, thank god!)

Dinner with friends

By Heather J |

This place is so charming! Friendly service and plenty of room. The food was good and reasonably priced. But the deserts were fabulous. Next time I'm in LA I'll be back.

Love this place

By Rick James |

Quaint local place with great service and even better food. I had the chipotle steak panino, pulled pork sandwich, and caprese along with an assortment of pastries. The pulled pork was AMAZING! I could eat that every day. The steak panino was pretty good and the caprese was ok. Service was quick and friendly. Gonna have to try their breakfast items next time I’m there.

Hidden Secret Gem.

By pauljalessi |

The Aroma Coffee & Tea is a lovely spot in Studio City. It's a little hidden secret gem. It has great outside seating with shade that I found it very tranquil. The service, the tea and food was pretty great as well.

Aroma is an excellent cafe

By scshopper825 |

The Aroma cafe is a kitschy local place to meet up with friends. The food is good and reasonably priced. Recommend.

great brunch

By Ortal T |

nice coffee place to eat breakfast\brunch. the service was great. the disadvantage was that the air conditioning wasn't working,

Great food, beautiful cafe

By Kelly G |

I love this place. I've eaten many different dishes here, and I've been delighted with each one. The portions are large, so I recommend sharing so that you can save room for dessert. If you're not hungry, you can drink tea or coffee while reading or writing and simply enjoy the peaceful ambiance under the trees outside.

Fabulous breakfast

By NeckyAnn |

This is one of my friend's favorite spots. When I visit LA, it has become a go to. I've had both dinner and breakfast here - breakfast was AMAZING. Probably the best omelet I have had in years. Here on the east coast, lobster omelets are common, so I did not expect to be impressed. This was incredible. It's also a charming and quaint atmosphere. Nice place to sit and talk while you enjoy a meal or coffee - cozy and relaxing. I love it.

Cozy, Artsy, Relaxed

By BP Denver |

Spent hours here hanging out with friends. We had a delicious snack, pulled out some board games and played for a while, and then got a delicious dinner and dessert. The staff is outstanding, laid back, and friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming to all people and all ages. It's a great space to catch up with friends, have dinner, do some journaling, or get some work done on a laptop. Amazing experience and perhaps the coolest cafe I've ever been to.

Great diner and ambiance

By Mike & Elena |

A must stop for coffee, such and dinner. This time I had dinner and the food was good and the ambiance was great. So if you are in the area of Studio City, you should stop and check this place out.

Popular place

By Richard S |

I've stopped at this place many times for breakfast. Very very popular with loyal customers for years now. They specialize in great coffees & teas which attracts many people, but their breakfast are quite special also. Not your usual run of the mill breakfast place, they offer a little bit of twist on breakfast, and mostly on the healthy side. They are also open for lunch and dinner. Again, this place is very very popular especially on weekends, so expect to wait. They also have a different approach to ordering your food or meal. As you enter the building, you check out the menu by the front door and stand in line to place your order. Once you place your order and pay, you are given a number that is attached a stand and you then go find where you would like to sit, place the number on the table and your order will be delivered to you in just a few minutes.

SEE AND BE SEEN EVEN AT 10AM

By Pyra-Danny |

3.5 stars technically. (Warning: young adults from Central Florida in for vacation) A regular weekday at 10am and most of the tables are filled. The action spills into the sidewalk where people watching is prevalent by older men chatting and having brunch while in the back, a group of ladies cheer as they have brunch. It may be crowded, there’s so many tables with 4 different settings to choose from - be patient and you’ll find a seat easily. DINING AND DRINKING Naturally, prices in this area are a bit higher than other cafes, but at least the quality is higher and more crafted. We had a collection of burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Nothing among the food particularly stood out, but the overall flavors were great. Portions were big too! Their coffee was a bit more so-so (we had a cold coffee and an espresso shot to taste it purely. Just okay). The good thing is, if you’re in a rush, they have a separate (much smaller) line for just ordering pastries and coffee. SIDE NOTES Despite seeing many laptops, I was surprised there was no wifi! Ah well, apparently everyone here planned better than me (indeed, it looks like there’s many regulars). Aroma is a community space-- if your community consists of well-to-do, relatively fit workers in the industry.

Lovely local place with great food and atmosphere!

By Bronwyn S |

Our AirB&B host recommended this place for dinner and we only wish we could have come for brunch as well! Located on a street filled with cute boutiques and restaurants, the Aroma cafe is made up of two houses and the yard/garden spaces between them, which are outdoor seating. The decor is eclectic and charming. We were on vacation with our teenage sons, but this would also make a perfect romantic dinner or family brunch spot. You order food at the bakery counter and everything is brought to the table. We ordered a mixture of sandwiches and pasta dishes and salad along with some amazing desserts. All of the food was excellent and came out quickly - the desserts were just delicious! Service was very pleasant and sitting outside in the garden patio made a beautiful final evening for our stay in Los Angeles. This place was a gem!

My Favorite Spot!!!

By TravelDiva77412 |

When traveling for business in Los Angeles. I get off the plane in Burbank and head straight to this restaurant!!! Often busy, with a line out the door, but the food is worth the wait. Some days I just pop in to grab a cup of tea and a muffin to go. Cool vibe and a little bit of everything in terms of clientele...from wannabes trying way to hard to be "Hollywood", to Producers & Writers working on projects, to locals who come in "on the regular." It is my "Cheers", and my favorite barista always have a big smile and a friendly hello!

Hipster Restaurant with wonderful food

By Kasi_Mark |

I have been to aroma Cafe several times, and it is worth the hour long drive to get there. A wonderfully creative and fresh menu, amazing baked goods and the best people watching. The croissant french toast and any of the benedict's are near perfection. The back patio is simply beautiful and the crowd is so L.A.... Hands down the best Chai Latte I have had anywhere.. This is a great breakfast/brunch place to go and spend a leisurely morning.

Great food, coffee is meh...

By Wonderasiwander |

Visiting my daughter we stood in the long line to order a arugula salad and poached eggs. The portion was huge and ended leaving half. The coffee was a disappointment but the service was swift and friendly. Be prepared to wait and enjoy the outside seating.

Lovely

By justtojess |

I really like Aroma. I've been here several times and always liked what I've ordered (though not *loved* it). The huge plus here is the beautiful back patio area! A great place for friends, to bring out of town guests, or just have a relaxing meal or coffee on your own

Enchanting

By Enrico G |

Wonderful, intimate and welcoming place with many small, separate and well-furnished rooms. Ordered a very good salmon salad. Not exactly cheap. Advised.

Super place for breakfast and lunch!

By LaVerne R |

Great place for breakfast and lunch. Over the years, this restaurant has grown to be one of the most popular in Studio City. Always a line to be seated. Take out is available, too. Food has always been very good and service has been excellent. Prices are medium. Parking can be an issue from time to time, but perseverance wins out and it is worth the attempt. I highly recommend! Enjoy!

Great spot for breakfast and people watching

By Ligaya M |

My daughter and I were staying at The Garland and walked to the Aroma Cafe for breakfast. The neighborhood is filled with lots of interesting homes. We ordered at the counter and then explored the cafe...lots of indoor and outdoor “rooms” with plenty of seating. We ordered the avocado toast and the brioche French toast, both were delish. Only suggestions...a little more crispy prosciutto and make sure the coffee comes out before the food. We’ll be back for the scrumptious food and getting to eavesdrop on entertainment talk!

My Favorite Cafe to Visit in LA!

By dfntravel |

I tried Aroma Cafe on a friend's recommendation about 3-4 weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience! I hear that it was once a library and I love the quaint and bohemian vibe of the place, from the creative development of the dining area inside and outside, to the fact that no two tables looked exactly alike. This place is a clear local favorite as every visit I make, the line stretches outside and around. The service is quick though and the cheerful, down-to-earth servers and hosts make the short wait worth it. The coffee is so good too and you can't help but be drawn to the line by it's toasty and crisp smell. I order a BLT along with a side salad made with their zesty, tasty, house-made vinaigrette. The food always tastes fresh and is filling. I enjoyed sitting in the backyard of the cafe surrounded by smiling families, and focused writers and artists, beside and underneath green leaves. My boyfriend compared it to a cafe in Italy. We both enjoyed it very much. I've made sure to make a stop at Aroma every visit to LA. Although this visit we stayed in Downtown LA, I begged my boyfriend to make the drive to North Hollywood before we left, just to try this cafe. He said, it was more than worth it!

Super great spot

By tw1509 |

Great little cafe that goes on and on. Awesome separate rooms all over the place. Fantastic patio in the rear. All the different rooms gave it a great small feeling, that made the perfect spot for great coffee and conversation. Stuffy cashier can be overlooked for his haughty insistence on mispronouncing carmel. Double thumbs up.

Great breakfast

By Magdalena P |

This place is great for breakfast or lunch. Big choice and delicious food! Service was very good. The inside feels nice.

Great spot for breakfast

By Mark T |

Friendly staff, quick service, great little outdoor patio.  Try the pumpkin chocolate chip muffin if it is still in season.  Great spot for an early informal business meeting

No servers! No service! No Good!

By eshboo |

- Ordered Tea - Came in a giant mug, but half full (or empty). I asked for more hot water and was told there is no more. WHAT ? - Then I saw that the tea bag wasn't the one I asked. It took 10 minutes to get the bag I asked for. Not my hot water is cold. Remember - No more hot water! - Now that I had all I needed, I looked for Sugar. None on any table around. Go look for it hiding in a corner. They won't bring it to the table! - Our cake order. My wife's cake came in 5 minutes. Mine arrive 15(!!!) minutes later. Are you people for real? All you had to do is take a slice and put it on a plate! You're not baking to order! - Since all I wanted at this point was to get out of there, I asked for a box to take my cake home. Twice. Never came. I had to get up again and go hunt for a box at the counter. - No servers! No service! * Guess where am I never going again?

Great Find, Will Return!!!

By WNB19 |

Traveling with friends, One had mentioned she'd been before. So happy we followed her recommendation. The food was absolutely delicious! The desserts were amazing and the ambiance was cute and cozy. If we lived in the area this would be a weekly stop. Can't wait to visit again!

Great Neighborhood Eatery

By Nancy D |

Great for lunch or breakfast. I’m always partial to breakfast. Lots of seating inside and out in garden patio setting. This is such a charming area of Studio City, you don’t even feel like you are in big Los Angeles. On this morning I ordered the chocolate chip brioche. They didn’t ask if I wanted it heated, but when it came to the table it had been. This is never my choice because I like fresh baked goods. Re-heating changes the texture. So mind that if you’re ordering from the counter. I’ve been here many times and it really is a good place.

Breakfast buritto!!! Yum

By rodjan5 |

Love coming to Aroma when I am in town. Great outdoor seating for someone from michigan after a michigan winter. Food and coffee is fantastic. Had the breakfast burrito on this trip with fresh fruit and it was all wonderful!!

Cozy and friendly

By Wineislife79 |

Went about 4 months ago with a friend and had brunch everything was superb. Not overpriced, not too flashy. Just good food and good service. Great spot.

So many bloody cafes round here but...............

By Simon Ordever |

...this one was really very special. I know, I know, I can hear you all saying, you only ever review the decent ones, but, honestly, this really does deserve your attention. First Sunday pm, the line was right down the block. But guess what, it moved really quickly, this is an "order up fron"t place and take your number with you and they bring it to your table, (BTW, as a Brit, Im never sure how much tip I should leave in a place with that sort of system). Anyway, the order takers/cashiers were so efficient, I felt like I was holding them up and not vica versa. The garden is just beautiful, plenty of seating (shame about the lack of parking). I had the most interesting Chicken Quesadilla that I have ever had. Stuffed with all things good, filling, tasty and reasonably priced. Well Done Aroma!

Go there for breakfast

By Localhost0 |

They serve quite big portions of breakfast and have great coffee! Self service counter and good seating inside and outside.

Love this place.

By RKD0000 |

My family and I were in Los Angeles a couple of years ago when we first discovered Aroma, and we enjoyed breakfast there just about every day. We knew exactly where we would be visiting when we came back to LA this year. They offer lots of fresh, healthy options including breakfast favorites, sandwiches, soup, baked goods, coffee, and tea. Some of our favorites are the heuvo rancheros, breakfast tostadas, french toast made with croissant, and the Brie and applewood bacon sandwich. The portions are generous and prices are reasonable for the area. They offer indoor and outdoor seating in a relaxing environment. Street parking is available, so bring change for the parking meter. It’s less than a 10 minute drive from Universal Studios.

BEST COFFEE in US!

By Michelle W |

A 'Hollywood' friend chose this place to meet me and 2 of my San Diego friends. We all LOVED IT! Not only was it the best coffee in the US, but the place was really comfortable- no one made us feel like we'd outstayed our welcome- even though we were there for 2 hours! Plus we met some really nice people- (of course my friend knows everyone) And it was fun seeing them film a movie in the street when we got there- ONLY in LA =) Wish I knew what kind of coffee they have. I'd go daily if it were closer!

Great Food and Decadent Desserts

By Alycia602 |

This place has really grown and often has a line out the door. It is more than just a cafe for coffee. They have great food, desserts and beverages. They have both indoor and out door seating but more out door. It is in a really quaint area. The place is like a converted house and there is garden type seating around the entire place. I love the ambiance and the food. It is relaxing. I really enjoy the grilled vegetable sandwich. The salads are really good. But the White choclolate fudge cake or cupcakes are incredible. I recommend the cup cake for one as the pieces of cake are very large. usually it takes 3 of us to eat the piece of cake because it is very rich. Many of the other food items are excellent as well, these are my favorite. They also have a nice selection of teas. It is a little pricey but worth every bit.

Unique ....be sure to visit

By 6sandy6 |

Order at the counter and they bring the item to you. Good size menu and choices. No wait service. Get water from containers around the sitting area. Mostly outside seating with some inside. You will enjoy both the food and the setting - old house

Most amazing breakfast!

By playamomma |

My son brought us here when we came to visit him. Came on a Saturday and was really glad we got there somewhat early. Sat in the back in the little garden. My hubby and I both ordered the breakfast Panini with eggs, sliced apples, bacon and brie cheese. It was exquisite! Great combination for your palate! The apples were sliced very thin, generous amounts of bacon and the brie -- oh, the brie! The only negative thing I would say was that it was huge, way too big for just one person. It came with rosemary potatoes. Of course, we both tried to finish it as it was so good, so much that we couldn't eat hardly any potatoes (and I love potatoes at breakfast!) Next time we are visiting, Aroma will be the #1 place on my list to visit, although next time I think we will split a sandwich!

Aroma Has Great Food

By EMFredric |

Aroma Cafe used to have a bookstore where kids could go and be told fairytales while the parents could relax with a cup of coffee or tea (they have an array of drink specialities to choose from) and a dessert (they have the best dessert selection). They're a bit pricey for their turn-out which is always packed by the locals and people who hear about it - but the food is worth it. Counter service to order and then it's delivered to you, usually in good tiime and while hot and they'll make up for any mistakes. The only changes I've seen that have kept me from going back as frequently is the outlets are such that no one can plug a laptop in. That was the charm of the beginning of Aroma and if you happen to find one of the hidden ones - a worker will be sent at you to demand that you unplug it. They could be nicer about it and just say, we want to move people through even faster (considering it was the locals that made this place a huge hit, one would think they'd be happy to accommodate) to make more money, faster, faster. I try to go in the off hours, early morning, after lunch rushes and later at night. Then it's similar to what the old Aroma Cafe feeling was - but I sitll love the place.

Great breakfast/brunch choice in a charming historic building

By Dan R |

Aroma has a great choice of breakfast items and delicious coffee and teas. You order at the counter, and the staff bring out the generous sized and delicious items to your table.

I don't give 5 stats eaily

By rodjan5 |

Hands down one of the best breakfasts I have had in a long time. Ordered the Cobb in late and apple muffin and both were amazing. Great setting and fun experience. Worth the trip no matter where you are coming from. Coffee is great also.

Very good breakfast

By Amber C |

Aroma cafe served a very good breakfast. I really loved potato pencake and iced coffee here. The ancient house & atmosphere was also great, friendly staff!

Brunch with a WOW factor

By tjmm1985 |

Dined here for brunch. Our party had pineapple mango smoothies, juices, scones, chai tea, rosemary potatoes, and lobster sandwich. There is so much to pick from and everything is fresh and plentiful. We love this little spot which is extremely spacious once inside. There is both inside and outside seating and backyard courtyard is cozy!

The food here was excellent

By riley c |

This was my first time going to Aroma cafe. I am very sorry that I drove past so many times without stopping. The food is excellent, everything that i tried was delicious. It may be hard to find a table depending on what day and time it is. If in a party of 2 or more, I would recommend one looking for a table while the other(s) order and pay. Hope this helps. Best- Riley

Popular Weekend Spot

By Indi237 |

Had lunch here with my gal after a long morning at the studio. It was an enjoyable experience. There was a line out the door and menus were being passed back and forth, so we had a chance to decide before getting to the counter. One person takes your order then you are passed to the cashier. We both chose salads. She had the Salmon and I had the Jerk Chicken. The salads were tasty and good sized. My chicken was warm and the salad was great without the dressing. The salmon salad came with a vinaigrette that was not too heavy for a warm day. I had an Arnold Palmer to drink. I asked for "light ice", but the request was overlooked. My gal enjoyed a Chai tea of some sort. She is picky about her tea, but was happy with the choice. The place was full without being totally crowded. The front is deceptive as the seating goes through the house and the patio goes from one side around the back to the other side. Some tables has reservation signs, so that is apparently an option. I consider the restaurant a bit pricey, but there are a number of options from breakfast to lunch and a host of bakery items as well. I expect we will be back.

Visited Twice it was so good

By FioHu |

Our first visit was for a quick easy dinner after a long day of travel from the UK. We enjoyed the food and relaxed atmosphere so much we went back again the next evening for dinner. Both occasion the staff were super friendly the food came really quickly and tasted great. Night 1 we shared a jerk chicken wrap and curly fries. The portion was more than enough for us to split. Night 2 we tried out the burgers which again did not disappoint. The cafe has a great relaxed atmosphere perfect for an informal snack or a full family meal.

Great Breakfast Place

By ShiftyToast13 |

My husband and I were staying at The Garland Hotel and found the Aroma Cafe on trip advisor. We decided to try it based on the positive reviews and are very glad we did. The Aroma Cafe is about a 15 min walk from the Garland Hotel - a very pleasant walk through a residential neighbourhood. The restaurant is a quaint cafe - where you order from the counter and then they bring your food to you when it is ready. There is ample seating both inside and out... just pick any empty spot. My husband had the egg benedict - he raved it was the best he had ever had... My pancakes and coffee were great too! Thanks to the reviewers on Trip Advisor for the tip on this place - we recommend it! BTW was good value for the quality of food - mid price range (ie $35.00 for 2 for breaky)

Excellent flavor, temperature & presentation during a Family trip

By Evidentrayban |

We stayed near Universal Studios and found this place and did not regret it! (not one bit). Short wait time, courteous service, fast attention, clean and you can notice how clean the place is kept. My wife, kids and I will definitely come back if we are in the area. I hope you find my experience useful to decide and give this place a try. I hope you like is as much as we did. Enjoy!!

Worth standing in line for!

By Laura M |

We have breakfast every time I visit my daughter, now two daughters that live right down the street from Aroma. Fun relaxed atmosphere. You stand in line, some days the line is longer than other days, it all depends what day it is and what time of day! Give them your order, and go find a table either inside or out side. I love to sit in the back patio area. They will bring you your order when it's ready. The menu is fantastic. So much to choose from. There are daily specials as well.

This place is hilarious. I've been going here on and off for many years, the food is pretty good honest fare, reasonably priced and served by pleasant friendly staff. It doubles as a coffee shop that opens early and brews good coffee. The seating area is mostly outside under cover in a charming garden like space. All in all it's pretty great and must make a lot of money as it's always busy. What makes it so funny is to sit there with a coffee and a salad and just watch and listen to the Hollywood hopeful brigade, it's brilliant, some of he conversations you can eavesdrop on you couldn't make up, actors, writers, directors, producers, all trying hard to get rich and famous, rubbing elbows with all the 'yummy mummies' from Studio City who are worn out from shopping all morning, this local spot is essential for those looking for a true Los Angeles experience. I really like this place and will continue to go there and when I finish writing my script this will be the first place I take it.

nice neighborhood atmosphere; solid menu

By PMarcus0007 |

The menu is diverse, the prices are a little on the higher side, the service is "OK", but the atmosphere and the food is very good.

Go elsewhere

By Medic_5 |

Sitting here with 5 family members. Moderate wait but the food came out quickly. Their griddle must be too hot as the fried eggs and omelets are crispy on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Coffee and tea brought to the table without any spoons or any other utensils. When we asked for more coffee that was fine but the one tea drinker wanted a new tea bag and that would be a charge. We offered to pay but we were told we would have to back inside and order which takes about 20 minutes. Absurd. Spent $110 plus a tip and they could not provide a tea bag.

Nice little hole in the wall

By We3luv2travel |

Very popular, there was even a long line at lunch midweek. Good fresh food. Nice outside courtyard seating.

Wake up and smell the coffee

By Sky051 |

Friend took me here. Probably the best coffee I had whilst in America. Large breakfast although everything seemed to have potato on it? Friendly staff, decent prices but it was the coffee!! Loved it, sat outside in the courtyard on three different days and had a fascinating conversation with the man who wrote the film The DeerHunter. He appeared to be writing a book. I gave him the line ' the days are long but the years are short' He immediately typed it and said he would use it..........can I claim copyright? A coffee creative moment. Wish we had one in the UK.

Best Mojitos in a LONG Time!!!

By Rick W |

My wife and I were heading over to take a Hollywood Bus Tour, and we wanted some breakfast before we got on the bus. It was Sunday, and there were LOTS of other folks with the same idea. We actually were looking for another place with great reviews, but the line was very long and we didn't want to wait. We had passed Aromas Cafe on the way, and I remembered seeing the good reviews of the place, so we stopped in. There was no wait whatsoever, the hostess was very pleasant, and we got a table right next to the sidewalk as requested. The menu was HUGE, with a wide variety of choices. We chose Mojitos to start the morning. My wife ordered the Mozzarella & pesto bagel, and I got an omelette. Both came with side salads, and mine came with a bowl of fruit as well. The Mojitos were some of the best I've had outside my own concoctions, being very-well muddled as a good Mojito should be. Our food was OUTSTANDING!!! The wait staff was right on point, and the prices were very reasonable. We will certainly consider a repeat visit next time we're in that neighborhood!

great meet up breakfast, lunch, light dinner cafe

By WileyTraveler |

The perfect Studio City meet and eat, relax and discuss cafe. Good menu of well made eats. A read, write and relax cafe, with good clean food and a indoor/outdoor garden like LA attitude.

Excellent food and coffee, personal or business

By Gina V |

In LA for work, we came across Aroma cafe and it was perfect! Food was delicious with dairy free, gluten free, vegan/vegetarian options as well as all the goodness of meat and melted brie! Charming service and excellent coffee too! Seating for every purpose; outdoor people watching, stylish and comfortable indoor as well as back patio suitable for brunch/lunch meetings.

Trendy!

By NanceeLeeAllen |

This was once a quiet place for coffee but now it is a super trendy place for good food and long lines.

Twice for breakfest

By matthiasfrontull |

The food was amazing, the prices reasonable for LA/Studio City, had my first dripped coffee and even as italian I must admit I enjoyed it more than the classical espresso :) The firts day i had the poached eggs with arugula salad, tasty onion dressing, with bacon a sauce holondaise if i recall it right. Because it was so tasty ireturned the second day trying the carnitas poached eggs and it was even better! Juicy and smooth meat, nicely cooked eggs and sauce on top to round it up :) Highly recommandable :)

Aroma has hands down the best coffee! The cakes are amazing and the French fries are delicious! A fun place to relax and chat with a loved one or friend.

Best Outdoor Garden Cafe in LA Area

By AnnieP7 |

I love this place. I have gone back three times this month and keep looking for more reasons to dive 20 minutes over to Studio City. I love breakfast here. I have had the Eggs Benedict, French Toast and Huevos Rancheros and love them all. The garden area is just a lovely place to have a great Latte and wonderful fresh breakfast. The desserts here are absolutely amazing…it is worth the trip just for a treat. There is generally a line to order, but if you get there before 9:30 a.m. you can usually beat the weekend crowd.

I Love Aroma Cafe

By rodjan5 |

One of my favorite places in LA to eat and always trying something new. Went for breakfast and have the burrito and it was amazing. Flavors were fantastic and a great meal with some fresh fruit that came with it. Coffee is great as well. Great seating outside and great local hang out.

Delightful art-centric cafe

By Chip M |

A local friend took me to this absolutely delightful little cafe on an unassuming street in LA. From the outside, it appears as a small cafe but once through its quaint and cozy front of house -- decadent pastries fill it -- one takes a seat outside or inside. An old house at one time it has been converted to a large outdoor/indoor seating space with a unique, artsy flair from room to room. The food was good (solid sandwiches and salads), the outdoor ambience for a mid-October day and the quiet location made for a memorable evening. I also sampled some local chocolate sold in large chunks. Try the chile chipotle dark chocolate.

New Find, I will return

By Barrie267 |

This was the perfect place to catch up with an old friend, when I was recently home in the San Fernando Valley. I can't wait to go back. A plate of garlicy stir fried vegetables and a huge helping of hummus were just the ticket. I only wish I could have had a glass of wine too! Lovely atmosphere, all the other customers were smily and happy and wanted to chat. That says a lot about the ambience of the place.

Worth the wait

By Sam S |

There is almost always a line at Aroma Cafe, but it is well worth the wait. One tip if you are only going for coffee and a scone, there is a separate shorter line inside just for that. No need to wait in the long line outside. Always check the specials for the day because they are always great but the menu won't let you down. All around this is a great place for everyone.

Great quality food

By TravelRobs |

This place is excellent to enjoy a quick meal or even a pastry and coffee or tea. There's a serene vibe and fabulous outside seating.

5 stars for you guys

By Лилит С |

Just enjoyed the food and service and everything. We visit you as we have little spare time . The only cafe in Hollywood which is worth visiting.

Good Sunday Brunch

By seadog22 |

Arrived around 11 for brunch on Sunday, line moved fairly quickly and we were ordering within 20 minutes. We were able to seat our party of 8 but most of the tables are for 2 or 4. Large portions, good coffee with free refills on mediums or larger. Not cheap but you can easily get two meals out of most of the items on the menu. Large variety of items on menu. Only ding was they forgot one order, but took care of it once they were notified.

Amazing

By Kelly M |

Absolutely yummy. The ambiance and food is superb. So cute and comfortable. Definitely a brunch destination.

Breakfast in North Hollywood

By Adijat |

Needed a change from the breakfast offered by the hotel while on holiday in Los Angeles. First impression - haunt for the locals! Good establishment, menu well laid out and good service.

Beautiful cafe in North Hollywood

By Mark D |

I stopped here based on Trip Advisor recommendations and photos and am glad I did! The shop is very quiet along the street but very lush and inviting. Indoors only has a few seats that I can see but lots of very comfortable outdoor seating, both shady and sunny. Potted plants and trees prove color, texture, sounds absorption and shade...very restful, considering its location along a busy street. They have a full breakfast and lunch menu. I only had a scone and cappuccino but both were perfectly made and well-presented. Highly recommended for a family breakfast, a working lunch or just a coffee!

A regular favorite

By Artzgal |

It's become more and more crowded, but will not sway me from it being a top choice. If alone, with friends and family -- it's a great spot with cozy garden tables and indoors has interesting old school vibe. You order at the counter, and the staff is always cheerful and funny, and they bring your food out in a jiffy. Very consistent food, and yummy coffees and teas. They have great specials as well - - last time I saw they had a pear french toast - - sounded great, but I like my favorites!

A great place to hang out.

By Henning F |

I like the atmosphere of the place and sitting outside in the sun with a cup of joe, watching the people is time well spend. The food is ok, a bit pricy for what it is. I usually grab a coffee and a smoothy. But it gets extra points for the atmosphere.

Mos review

By Maureen D |

This place is so popular, you might have to wait in line to order your food, but it will be worth it. The charm of the spot, where you will find many from the industry dining, is one of my very favorites. You may have your food and beverage delivered to you in the garden area, in the library by the fireplace or other areas. Very healthy food and delicious.

Lovely Garden Setting

By lollydepaulo |

Aroma Cafe is a terrific place to spend a few hours relaxing in the garden, eating great food and taking in the quintessential Los Angeles tinsel-town ambiance. There are almost always celebrities standing in the too-long line to get in. But that is the fun. Once, a newcomer on The Daily Show was in town and standing behind me in line. I told him I'd seen him the night before and he confessed a fear that he wouldn't be asked back. So I told him my friends and I would all send postcards to Comedy Central and demand he be made a permanent cast member. We did. It happened and he ultimately went on to fame and fortune, even becoming a film star. Aside from the glamour, it is a good place to sit and read or work on your laptop. Yesterday, I spent a lovely hour of peace and quiet, alone with my coffee and pastry watching the world pass by. Aside from the aforementioned too long line, and sometimes a waft of the dumpster if you are sitting near the back, Aroma Cafe can be fun, or quiet, or just a great place to people-watch. I highly recommend it.

Garden Patio Brunch

By LA Art Advisor |

This charming restaurant is a delightful maze of garden patios and cozy rooms to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The menu is quite extensive with endless brunch options, salads, sandwiches, and gourmet coffees. Equally healthy and not-so-healthy options for all kinds of palettes and diets. It can accommodate a larger group of 6+ on the patio, while still offering wonderful spaces inside for the solo diner to enjoy a coffee with a book. The food was delicious and fresh and amongst my diverse group of vegans, carnivores, and vegetarians everyone was delighted by the meal.

Nothing from the outside...real pros inside

By CaliforniaFellow |

This restaurant needs a different sign. From the outside, it looks like a strip-mall cafe where you'd expect to get gluey pizza and tasteless lasagna. Get past that image and open the door. Inside are white tablecloths and an exceedingly professional operation. Our waiter told us what was special with enthusiasm (I expected him to drool). We ordered three different pasta dishes: linguini with clams and rapini, gnocchi alfredo, and penne bolognese. The alfredo was light, yet very flavorful; the bolognese, perfectly seasoned, coated the pasta perfectly; the linguini utilized the full naturalness of fresh clams to create an excellent broth. All three pastas were al dente. Not too expensive, either: $40 each, with tip...and that included wine and salad for two of us. It's small inside. I would DEFINITELY eat here again.

Great and friendly.

By Toast2012 |

We came here for breakfast before a road trip arrived a little before 7am so they took our order so as soon as thr kitchen opened it would be cooked. Very nice staff and cakes looked heavenly. We had the power breakfast egg whites chicken and swapped thr toast for a bagel, which you can choose what flavour. I went plain and it was so yummy. And thr breakfast buritto and that was lovely too. Highly recommend and very reasonable. Chuffed we came across it.

The only place for breakfast in LA!

By travelledfrom0 |

Absolutely love Aroma cafe. Every time I visit LA I always ensure to have at least one trip to Aroma. The menu is large and everything is extremely fresh - check out the website for the menu to give you a flavour of what's on offer. Unless you get here before 10 on a weekend you will be queuing out the door and onto the street, which really is testament to how fabulous this little place is! The majority of the seating is outside (but they do have patio heaters for the winter months) but would recommend a jacket if your a freezers like I am! You order when you walk in, get given a number then wander off to find a free table so grab a menu(or have an idea of what you fancy before you go from the menu online!) and good luck with the amount of choice on offer! You won't regret the meal I promise! Large portions too :)

10/10 so cute and such good food!!

By Helen S |

Good area. Saw no scetchyness while I was there (which is rare for LA 😅) Good gluten free and vegan options. Person I went with said the gluten free bread was good. Also got a gluten free donut, which was great! I ordered the "Power breakfast". 10/10 was sooo good, and you get great sized portions. Great staff, everyone was super kind! Definitely go here if your in the area. Was $63 for two breakfast dishes, two smoothies and the donut. Most dishes are $16-17 ish. Maybe it's a little pricey but you definitely get your moneys worth! Love this place ❤️

This is not #25 of 10,923

By Curiosity655744 |

The atmosphere is nice, the staff is friendly, but the food is not #25 of 10,923 places in LA. The Caesar salad was just a bowl of salad. Very limited parmazan cheese, untasted dressing, just no surprises. The grilled chicken was dry in both the salad and the panini. Nice place, but overrated.

Review

Had coffee and tea latte which were great. Cashier screwed up dessert and gave us lemon cheese cake instead of what we ordered but it was good. They are strict about enforcing business hours.

Cozy, tasty, friendly

By Sally M |

We found this charming converted house in Studio City, partly by...aroma. There are seating options inside and out. A friendly staff makes every item sound pretty irresistible and in fact the cooked breakfast dishes are great and the baked goods excellent. Tables are better suited to coffee and pastry than a meal, but you can make do! I loved the atmosphere and the evident comfort level of the regulars.

Small town charm in a big city!

By jenn2808 |

I have loved Aroma Cafe's food since my first visit! They offer a great variety of choices and they all seem to be very fresh and delicious! They also offer great coffee drinks as well as baked goods. The only small downfall is that the line tends to get a bit long during their busy periods.

amazing breakfast in a relaxing setting

By Paul W |

visited several times over a week in summer for breakfast and lunch, the food every time was superb, also probably why the place was always busy which contributed to the great atmosphere.

Outstanding food, service and facilities

By MarkJRatcliffe |

Aroma is the BEST place for food in Studio City; especially for breakfast or lunch. The evening meals are also great with usually two specials and a regular menu available. The staff are friendly and helpful and are always very very welcoming. Special shout out to Moe and Tiffany. If you’re looking for excellent quality food, large portions, a great atmosphere and superb service then Aroma is the place to go.

In for dinner

By K6KN |

This is our favorite in the area. Dinners are generally light. Great salads, burgers, wraps. Had a steak special tonight. A very cheery atmosphere, friendly staff. Order and pay up front, with table service inside or the surrounding court.

Our Family Gathering Place

By Barbara M |

The coziness of Aroma Cafe coupled with the wonderful teas and tasty sweets combine for the perfect meeting place whenever the family comes to LA from different parts of the country! As crowded as it always is - there always seems to be a table for us and i an delighted with every visit - marking the calendar for our next visit in 3 months! See you there!

Yummu

By Mandeep H |

Loved it! I had the egg & veggies, my bro had the aroma breakfast sandwich! It was all very yum! However the bread pudding wasn't as great.

So relaxed with excellent food choices

By Pabnet |

Ordering at the counter when you enter does not seem the normal formula for a good cafe but the it works really well at Aroma. Excellent coffee and well chosen menu selections. Service is relaxed with no servers to hassle you. Lovely environment in the outdoor terrace area.

Sweet. LA Escape. Aroma Coffee and Tea

By SerenaScholl |

This place can have lines out the door at anytime of day or night any day of the week. It is not to be confused with Aroma Cafe in Hollywood. This is Aroma Coffee and Tea Company. The menu is an opus to healthy fresh food. Salmon salad, crouque monsieur, great burgers, omelettes, wraps, chicken, wild rice-tofu salad, club sandwich, full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Not a Steak and potatoes or surf and turf dinner - but Cali cool, earthy, fresh and deliscious. And lots of food filling your plate. Their fries are stellar, served in a large bowl. One order is really and truly perfect to share for two and still have that feeling of indulgence and plenty. - Belueve me... I love food, love to eat and want to feel like there's more than enough. There are gorgeous desserts and pastries on display at the order counter. They are plentiful and oversized in an inticing, delightful way that is wonderfully the antithesis of LA "I don't do carbs or sugar." They don't taste as 100% as good as they look... but I'm a harsh critic. They are quite good - and so visually pleasing it's definitely satisfying - unexpected fulfillment is Aroma's signature experience. The decor is charming: antiques, sterling silver trays and do-dads. Arty. Chic. Antiques. Shabby chic. Bowls and glass jars along the wall and counters overgliwing with artful displays of unique hand crafted chocolates and candies, jellies, local artisan honey or cooking oils. Once you order and pay at the cashier you take a number on a silver holder and find a table. Indoors or either side patio or back patio, or front street tables.Heaters warm The patios at night. Bowls of water welcome canine pals at the street tables. The food here is good. Portions are large. Urns of cold water, lemon, lime and orange slices are available for self service. Black trouser and white button down wait staf deliver your meal, drinks desserts. They are attentive, eager and quick... Also unobtrusive, which I value. Aroma stays open until 11:00pm - I likey. No alcohol, beer or wine, but excellent smoothies and teas, and a vast coffee menu. This used to be a home ... a house converted in a nice neighborhood in Studio City. Aroma sits among shops and restaurants along a short stretch of Tujunga between and Woodbridge. Parking is unmetered on Woodbridge east of Tujunga and open for two hour slots. There is metered parking as well and on Tujunga. Another place owned by the same people is in Los Feliz, called the Alcove Cafe and Bakery.

Sunday Brunch with friends

By Marilyn W |

We arrived at Aroma around 11:30 and only had to wait a few minutes. A staff member came to line and asked if we wanted to be seated at a table. He was our waiter and was outstanding. Very helpful with the menu, answered all our questions and was very patient! We all had breakfast (big selection) and each meal was delicious. We liked sitting outside.

Lunch menu very good

By rodjan5 |

Came for lunch and loved the menu. Burgers we great and the BLT was even better. Great food and wonderful atmosphere. Always a great treat.

Amazing food Amazing place!

By Stacey Dennison |

We stayed at The Garland just around the corner form here and we was stuck on what to eat for breakfast and the receptionist told us about the Aroma Café and told us it was a very popular café so we decided to get a taxi there, it only cost us 6 dollars and we realised it was right around the corner we walked back. When we got there I think we beat the rush as there was only a small queue but by the time we had ordered the queue was out of the door! We went here 3 times and we was in LA for 5 days... it was really good healthy food and my fiancé being a healthy fanatic he was very pleased with the choices. I would recommend everyone to try this place out, its so cute and local. it was very nice to experience this place :)

Best cake I've ever had

By Ryan D |

I'm not sure I've ever had their savory food here. I always come for coffee and/or pastries. But their cakes are literally the best cake I can remember having. They always have a wide variety and every one I've tried has been phenomenal. They have other desserts too, and I've always wanted to try their brownies, or cookies, but the cakes have been too good to pass up. The drinks are always excellent as well. Last time I got an iced chai latte that tasted really unique--I wasn't sure how it was different from other places, but it WAS, and that was good. Made it seem like a bit more thought went into it. By far the biggest drawback is that the dessert case has no labels whatsoever. Every single time I get to the counter and have to ask someone to explain what all the different cakes are. It slows down the line, and I have no idea why they don't just put signs in the case, or write them on a chalkboard. Seems like a no-brainer. But it won't stop me from coming back any time I want a great dessert. The price isn't TOO much, but it is definitely reflective of the quality. You're not getting a bargain here. And the wide range of seating options is great too. Outside, inside, small or big, you can come here for a date or a group of friends.

Great Vibe, Food and Baked Goods

By Joel R |

I'm not sure what draws me the most to this place over the years, but the combination is really hard to beat, and the folks that work here are exceptionally nice and helpful.

Very nice location and atmosphere.

By Felipe A |

Went for a business meeting that felt like a friend reunion after the friendliness of the waiter. Some of us knew about some dishes from the old menu and they were kind enough to prepare them accordingly. Dinner for 4 including some leftovers for an amazing $54. The thin crust and the vegetarian green pesto pizza was good but could have had some more interesting flavours.

Great Breakfast Spot

By Californianshack |

Excellent and welcoming service and a varied and interesting menu for breakfast. Recommended if you are staying at The Garland and looking for somewhere different.

Cozy and Delicious

By pmustari |

My girlfriend and I met for breakfast last Sunday. It is an extremely locals-loved, walk-to cafe and has a line that wraps around the front to order your food. Thankfully, the line goes quickly and they give you a number to take to your table. The outdoor seating area wraps around the back and sides with a few small tables available along the curb. And there is limited seating inside that a fireplace near which makes for a charming, cozy ambiance. Food is great and the coffee is delicious. The parking is tough but there are free 2-hour parking a block away in the surrounding neighborhood. A perfect place for special occasions or a casual meal.

Good food with a side of vanity

By James L |

I love to hate places like this but I didn’t hate it. The food was actually quite good and the creative use of space was nice. You can eat inside or outside and the staff is really friendly. The patrons however are a different story. I listened for an hour to the girl behind me explain how she improperly applied self tanner to her boobs and the guy across from me telling his acquaintance he was in a commercial a year ago.....am I supposed to be impressed? Ahhh L.A. since the review is about the food it’s great go there! Go early though. I left about noon and the line was out the door.

Charming Cafe, Great Food

By Traci_LA |

Charming old house and patio turned into a cafe. Walk up to the counter to order, find a table and they bring the food to you. Food was excellent and my friend and I shared a heavenly dessert. Parking can be challenging and the line and wait can be long which is a testament to it's popularity.

A real catch

By szlaw10 |

Very nice, welcoming place. Great food and terrific ambiance. Quite and tranquill. Highly recommended.

An Excellent Eatery In Studio City (LA)

By Cecil Jones |

Cozy cafe with breakfast, lunch and dinner seatings. They have excellent sandwiches, salads and delicious pastries as well as an assortment of teas and of course their namesake, coffee. There is inside + backyard patio seating with fast, friendly and professional service. From quick bites, to comfort food, to late-night fare, to healthy options like organic, vegetarian and small plates this cafe has it all. A great plate to sit with a lap-top and unwind while enjoying excellent food and drink in a quaint relaxing setting. Go, unwind and enjoy.

Great LA vibe and lovely outdoor breakfast

By Helen R |

DH and I stayed in the neighborhood and this place was recommended by the owner. Gorgeous huge pastries, large breakfast sandwiches and delicious coffee. Storefront is small but there is outdoor seating on each side and in the back of the place. You order, get a number for your table, and they bring the food to you. We ate here 3x during our 10 day stay, the last time bringing our daughter. Lots of moms with strollers in back, families, work meetings. You may have to wait in Iine if you eat later but it's worth it.

Great Breakfast

By Michael L |

Fantastic Breakfast. It was so good we went their twice. Great location, fast service, and great food quality. Highly Recommend!

Great breakfast

By rodjan5 |

Have been here a few times over the past 2 years and asolutely love coming for breakfast or lunch. Had the French toast on this trip and it was fabulous. Love the setting and the food. My wife is a big fan so this is a true treat for her as well when she makes this trip with me.

Very pleasant and tasty breakfast/brunch

By Stephen R |

I am not normally a breakfast or even brunch guy but my family loves their morning treats and we all found something great here - whether it be the salmon salad, the French toast or the breakfast sandwich (which I had and really enjoyed). Sitting outside on a sunny day made for a really nice experience.

Another Great Experience at Aroma Coffee and Tea

By ejk54 |

There is nothing not to like here....except the line during popular brunch hours, but it moves fast!! The food is great, an exceptional value, the beverages just the way you want them, the people care, the atmosphere is excellent and the setting is the epitome of being in a "Cheers" type establishment. Go there a few times and they'll know your name. Aroma is a Studio City treasure. (I am told that beer and wine are just a few months away)

You gotta try it

By rodjan5 |

I always try to hit Aroma when in LA for business. Always a great place to have a business meeting and an amazing breakfast. Had the huevos rancheros and the flavors are amazing. It looked like they changed the dish just a bit since last time but still good. Coffee is very good but no refills.

Lunch!!

By dsh91367 |

Been to the Aroma Cafe for breakfast a couple of times. French Toast with fresh fruit is really yummy. Today we decided to go for lunch. I had the turkey sandwich with garlic fries and it was all delicious. My husband had the Chipotle Burger Sliders with regular fries. The sliders were fantastic. The only downfall is the parking. The line to order food is always long but moves quickly. The pastries look fantastic but we have not tried yet. We will diffently try the pastries next visit.

great little cafe

By susan1459 |

I love Aroma cafe! It is a bustling and friendly place. The deserts are deliciously displayed -the bread pudding made with croissant ,is to die for! Great selection of teas. Very cozy and never disappoints.

Great atmosphere, great food

By RedCollette |

We visited on our first day in California with our teenage daughters and a family friend who is a part time local and recommended the venue. The cafe was very crowded but we got a seat quite quickly. There is an excellent and vibrant atmosphere and we enjoyed sitting outside. We requested and were given table service as we agreed not to split the bill. The meals were generous and the quality was high. There was excellent variety on the menu and they do a late breakfast. Our only quibble would be that the place is not licensed - a beer or a cold white wine would have been a bonus. The desserts and cakes coming out looked impressive but we had eaten too much to order one. A very enjoyable meal.

Great food and atmosphere

By ebk16 |

Lovely spot with welcoming indoor and outdoor space. Very extensive menu with interesting riffs on breakfast. Very generous portions. Definitely will return the next time I'm in the area.

Don't be put off by the line outside

By sfvalleymom |

This is a neighborhood cafe with wonderful food and atmosphere. However, it always looks like it is packed and will take forever to be seated and eat. Don't be deceived. The line to order frequently (usually) spills over to the sidewalk outside, because the counter at which to order is right inside the front door. Seating is usually plentiful and available, and your order will be brought to you. This is a wonderful place for a sit-down meal with friends, because the atmosphere and dynamics encourage conversation.

Yummy foods!

By Amy K |

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat on our way out of town and I am so glad we did! The food was delicious! And we even had a celebrity sighting, lol. But we played it cool and didn't bother him. Celebrities should be allowed to feel normal people!

Best studio City cafe for friendly gatherings

By SeaTraveler15 |

We heard of this cafe by word of mouth in 2019 and make it a must stop every time we visit Los Angeles. We find the community in the line while we wait to order. And the wait staff have often selected us out of line and taken our order at our table. The cafe is charming. We find the rooms throughout, what we presume was once a house, to provide the ambiance we’d expect at a cute hangout in Studio City. The patio out back is always an excellent choice. It is very inspiring to hear industry discussions across brunch gatherings! We often get a hearty breakfast or indulge in their avocado toast. The coffee and tea is wonderful too! Their pastry case is insta-worthy!

Funky spot with excellent coffee and pastries

By Betty M |

Popular spot for locals with lots of food options. Outdoor seating on sidewalk and each side and around the building, plus indoors. Lots of take out going on too. Serves a dynamite breakfast so there is usually a long line; be advised that you can go inside to the shorter line if you just want pastries and coffee. Prices are reasonable.

Amazing!

By caprisun11 |

Great neighborhood! Love the food! I recommend there grilled cheese! Amazing for any meal or snack! Great for kids! Amazing big desserts!

Amazing

By geezette1 |

We went there for brunch. The line to get in, as usual so I heard, was out the door! It moved very quickly and was well worth the wait. I saw danish & croissants bigger than my fists and pieces of cake big enough for 3 and looked like it took weeks to make! I had an omelette and ended up taking half home, it was plenty of food! It’s a very small place but well organized and I’d recommend it again and again!

Great lunch in Sherman Oaks

By Germione |

We probably had our best lunch in LA at Aroma Cafe. It's a great cafe in a lovely location. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. There was a bit of a queue but the line moves quickly and you won't be waiting long for your food. They have a big menu and the portion sizes are generous. Great value for money. I had the country breakfast which was pancakes, eggs and bacon which was delicious. Their iced coffee was really nice too. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the Sherman Oaks area.

Lots of character

Was very relaxing place to chill and enjoy some lovely soup, just what we needed after a busy day. Food options were very healthy and tasty. Great service, very friendly staff. Reasonable prices.

It's a lovely place

The garden, the food, the staff are all wonderful. There's a long line, but once you order then the food comes quickly. Most of all the garden is very pretty. The lunch items were terrific. I would go here again and again.

One of the best experiences ever.....and best coffee!~

If I had a choice, I'd buy this place, put a hotel above it and live happily ever after. The food, the people, the service all rock. The most incredible coffee, sandwiches, croissants, pastries, etc. Really terrific dining experience for breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Cozy coffee shop with delicious offerings

Cute café with two beautiful patios. Great selection of yummy-looking pastries, and very reasonably priced coffees. Long open hours even during COVID, which is very nice.

Fantastic Hollywood Cafe

By Adam Soldinger |

This is a great North Hollywood cafe for breakfast set in an historic building with plenty of seating around the sides + out the back. So much choice on the menu, the food + drinks are excellent. Highly recommended !

I wish I didn't live 6 hours away!

This is the cutest cafe! It's actually quite spacious. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you, it's not your typical sit down restaurant. But don't let that keep you away. Their breakfast and lunch menus are extensive, I truly wish I could have eaten more than one meal there. My friend and I ate breakfast there on our last day and I wish we had had time to go one more time! I had a breakfast sandwich and it was so good. Like so good that I can't stop thinking about it and want to recreate it at home. Everything on the menu sounded good. Their coffee is excellent as well. I had a caramel latte and it was creamy, flavorful and very smooth. I loved every drop. I highly recommend Aroma Cafe for either breakfast or lunch because everything sounded amazing!

Great little cafe in a nice area.

Stopped for bite to eat before driving south. Lovely courtyard garden and a great menu. Staff friendly and food good. Certainly worth a visit and surrounded by great shops and boutiques, clearly a local favourite.

Love, love,I've this place

This place is a gem of Studio City. Located on Tujunga and great place to walk around if you like small, independent boutiques. There is always a line out the door, but don't worry, it moves pretty quickly. The food is delicious and their omelettes and scrambled eggs for breakfast never disappoint. The coffee is top notch ( alert, coffee snob!) and the service is excellent. If you're on a diet, stay away from the decadent desert display. Not to mentions the goodies they have available for purchase. If you're in the area, have guests from out of town, or simple want a great meal, then Aroma Cafe is your place.

Fun - food - friendly!

Small neighborhood jewel in the middle of the tujunga village serving an AMAZING menu of breakfast, lunch, dinner & more! Incredible baked goods too!always has a line trailing down the sidewalk so bring your patience because the wait will be worth it!!! Indoor and outside dining RESERVATIONS - you might want to order to go instead!!!!!super yummy!!!!!!!

Ohio visits Aroma Cafe!

By Kweenbee1206 |

An awesome Place to eat! We ate on the Patio , the food was worth the wait! The servers was very helpful, it was our first time there so we weren't sure what sure how to order or what to do, because our son dropped us off at the door, but once we got the hang of it and got our order placed at the counter, we found a cozy place on the Patio and waited for our breakfast /brunch! We will visit Aroma again when we come to LA,

Great Value and Taste

This restaurant has a small store-front but it is really pretty big. We went here on Sunday for a lunch and it was a great treat. You order your food and then look for a place to sit so the line will go out the door but it moves pretty quick. The Avocado dip was great and so were the sandwiches we had. Some of the salad bowls looked awesome although we did not have one. Portions were generous. This was a great little find and I am sure we will go back.

Kept Coming Back!

The Aroma Café was the best find of our vacation! We ate here all 3 nights we were in town. We skipped eating elsewhere so we could come back. Everything we tried was delicious—the paninis, the soup, the Aroma Burger, the BLT, the tacos AND the treats! The atmosphere is cozy, the service is fast & the food is fresh and wonderful!

Excellent Breakfast

By laurilie513 |

We had a great breakfast here. Looks small from the curb, but its actually surprisingly big with a lot of outdoor seating. Lots of options to choose from, and everything is made fresh. I had a great avocado toast and cappuccino and the rest of my party had omelettes. Perfect place for brunch.

Big breakfast for reasonable price in a nice decoration

By Raymond_DELAYNOMORE |

As suggested by nearby hotel staff to come this morning with wife and kids. Great place nice little Italy style restaurant. Price is very reasonable compare to those offer from hotel. The lobster sandwich for breakfast is big but yummy. Advice not for rush parties, please spare at least 50-60mins for breakfast.

Lunch in North Hollywood

We were staying at the Garland hotel and decided to try one of the local restaurants, A short walk from the hotel and we were their. Great choices of meals and efficiently served at your table after ordering from front of house. A good value for money restaurant with tasty food.

Nice place to meet friends

By RiceWP |

Driving through Studio City we met a friend here for lunch and really enjoyed ourselves. The cafe has seating both inside and out and everyone seemed to be enjoying the day. The food choices were extensive and our choices were well prepared.

the best breakfast around!

one of my favorite LA spots. great for breakfast, lunch, dessert any time! also on a cute street for strolling. i make it a point to eat at aroma every time i come to LA.

A Studio City landmark, really

By ashalat |

Had a great brunch at the Aroma Cafe. large portions, self seating, and good food. If you're a tourist, this is a good place to spot television actors. It's a local place, and you'll inevitably see some tv actors, even if you can't recall their names. This is where they live. It's also a regular place, where locals like to be themselves. So if you do come here, don't gawk, just enjoy the ambiance.

Delicious

I had the bagel B.L.A.T., not only was it delicious but pretty large. And their cold brew iced coffee doesn't mess around. Very good. Had to go back for a second time and got an omelette called south of the border. Also very good.
