As Authentic As It Comes

By bhittle |

Whether you are visiting Mission/Pacific Beach for a vacation or you're a local, you have to eat here for the best tasting authentic Gyros. The décor, the newspaper stories of how the family business came to be, the music, and smoke filled room from the fresh baked bread all add to the experience plus it's not expensive. It will definitely satisfy and the employees have great customer service and friendly attitudes. Treat yourself to some tasty Baklava while you're there.

Great gyros and friendly atmosphere

By Imre B |

Great food, good service. Cosy authentic experience, and Arslan was a great host. Custom made menu to accomodate 3 small kids.

Tasty food

Our family had a lunch in this restaurant. We tried several things and most of them were good: Falafel, hummus, gyros. The only thing that was mediocre was burek with cheese.

Amazing falafel and shawarma!

By Shane L |

Amazing falafel and shawarma! Authentic middle eastern food with outside seating. I am sure that all dishes are made fresh!

Greay gyros!

By Ed Y |

Stopped by several times for lunch while in town for training. Huge delicious gyros and fresh, crispy fries. Family run and great little place on Mission. Very welcoming and friendly.

Boys Loved Gyros!!! 🎉🎈✨

By THamblin |

This is literally the best family meal I’ve had on a trip, portions were large and the quality was phenomenal. An amazing establishment with top of the line service that I definitely would like to eat at again! Loved it! ❤️

Amazing Gyros

By Meander04207984401 |

I came to this restaurant with a couple of friends and the food was amazing. We all ordered the lamb gyro combo, the food was very good and had big portions. The service was very good and all got out food in a matter of 5 minutes.

Hole in the wall - but not a hidden gem

By Slowrider5 |

Gyro was OK, not bad but far from best I've ever had. Greek salad came with no dressing (we did not notice until getting back to our hotel). Place was pretty dirty inside - would have overlooked it if it was awesome food. But, I had a stomach ache all the next day.

AMAZING FOOD

By Cathy E |

Was greeted by the owner when we walked in. Our girls were having a hard time deciding what to get - so the owner graciously offered to make us a "COMBO" PLATTER for a special price. It was AMAZING (had everything on it) and we all ate everything we liked and still had some left on the tray. The food was better than the owner - and we loved him! Will be going back here every time we are in town!

Authentic Delicious Greek Food

By CH |

Great Greek Food! I go every time I'm in San Diego. It's difficult to find good authentic Greek Food. Having lived in Greece, I try many Greek restaurants all over searching for the flavors of the Mother Land. Arslan's gyros, tzatziki and other Greek delights are fantastic. I always get the gyros salad. Yum. In addition they serve amazing Balkan dishes. It's a family owned business and Arslan, Vahida and Lydia are very personable and have great customer service. It's a small venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Great for take out too!

Just walking by

By Elizabeth D |

My husband and I were just walking down the street while on vacation and decided to stop as we love gyros, but good ones are hard to find. The service was great, kind and friendly. The Gyro was fantastic and huge! We were glad we shared. Definitely worth the stop.

Large servings

By Nederlander in AZ |

Was in the mood for a gyros. A large order was indeed large. Needed more pizzazz- ask for more tatziki sauce, onions and tomato than they give you.

So good I felt like I was back in Chicago!

Eat here. Please. Trust me on this. Enter hungry and leave stuffed. The place isn't fancy, but the food is wonderful. I was there while the owner was making a spinach pie with layer after layer of filo dough. Told me to come back tomorrow and try it. I did. It was the best spinach pie this side of Greece! Ate here twice, going back next year.

Spanakopita

By neko99 |

Stopped for what I thought was a piece of spanakopita and a piece of baklava, what I got was a huge order of spanakopita. There were at least 6 slices, that were really good. Were given two pieces of watermelon while waiting, a nice and appreciated treat. Baklava was also good.

Great Greek

By AnnieBax |

Gyro and Greek salad were plenty to share with husband. The salad even included a couple of tasty dolmades. Tiny place, pretty warm inside, but great to take home & enjoy. And less than 300' from our rental'

Best gyro ever

By jaygilgert |

Real lamb, great product. Taste is far better than any other gyro I've eaten. Price is very fair and owner is really nice guy.

Greek Garbage

By HAGEN E |

After reading all the hype and actually being in PB ride my bike down for a snack on Sunday afternoon. Ordered a chicken Gyros and a large OJ (fresh) $15.00. I should have known, being the only patron there that I was either in for a big session on the toilet or I have stumbled into a hidden gem. Unfortunately, the first phase happened. The service was friendly, but the food was horrible!!!! The only think that was good was the OJ, that being said, ordered a large, $5, but received the small size, $3, oh well. When the Gyros came, it was a soggy, tasteless, sloppy mess. The chicken was not roasted on a spit, but was portioned and had been cooked sometime before, tasteless and chewy, and piled high on a stake pitta with one little piece of tomato and one little chunk of cuke. Tzatziki that came in a squeeze bottle on the side, had no taste at all. Do these people ever try what they serve? In this case I doubt it very much. And gauging by the amount of business, lots of people had, and stay miles away from this place. It is awful and not even deserving of this review. It's taken me longer to write this than the time I spent eating the worst so called Greek Gyros ever. Stay away, it is Garbage.

Food, not atmosphere

By Brian Wiebe |

Typical of many ethnic food restaurants, this isn't for the atmosphere, but the food was amazing. We shared a Gyros platter and it was plenty for 2 of us.

Best mediterranean food ever!

By Risa R |

As a flight attendant and someone who loves Mediterranean food, this was such a hidden gem in Mission Beach. The portions are huge and everything is great! Four of us ordered 2 chicken gyros, a traditional gyro, a gyro plate, and then ordered the spinach spanakopita, and the appetizer plate that had the most amazing hummus and falafel's. We couldn't even finish half. Thankfully have a refrigerator to save for tomorrow. Recommend splitting. Such a nice man as well. Mission Beach is one of my favorite places to vacation and I should have eaten here before. All of that food was for under $100. If you like Mediterranean food, don’t miss out on this place.

Great gyro, authentic food!

By D B |

Fantastic food, what a great find. Authentic, fresh, great customer service. Highly recommend. Obviously family run and they take great pride in their food. Recommend the gyro sandwich. Amazing!

We love this place

By Jennifer B |

We visited Pacific Beach last year and found this place and this year returned, because it was a cannot miss. We have been to Greece and had gyros there and the meat in the gyros at Arslan’s is on par with Athens Greece. All of the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. Th Dolmas as well as the Gyros were great. Tatziki is authentic. The service is great and they put up with my meager Greek. We will be back next year.

Loved our food and hospitality of the owner

By Tvrtko1995 |

Since work time was confusing on Sunday, we called and the owner said - they are not opened. But, if we want to eat, he will open for us. What a treat!? Excellent food, even better service, parking might be the problem. But in our case, the owner went beyond and blocked space in front of the store while we were making turn around to park. What can you ask for more than that?

Great Turkish coffee, incredible gyros

By Saverylady |

A delightful family run restaurant in Mission Beach with excellent food and service. I recommend the coffee, baklava, gyros. The owner is a charming guy from Bosnia who went out of his way to be hospitable. He even taught us how to make Turkish coffee.

Good old fashioned gyros, but meat was bit dry

By Mihir_tx |

Excellent and authentic handmade gyros and homemade sauce, but the meat was a bit too dry which seriously took away from what could've been a perfect 10!

Gyros and Greek to die for

By PRGuy02360 |

Unbelievable! Fresh lamb gyros. Homemade spinach pie. Finish with Turkish coffee. The best meal I've had in San Diego. Great after dinner walks on Pacific Beach.

Great food

By Brad M |

Amazing chicken gyro. The owner was so friendly and hospitable. The portions were very generous, the meat was overflowing from the pita. Will be eating here again.

Tasty & Large Portions

By Eric H |

We do not frequent Greek restaurants, however, the food here was very good. The owner brought us out some samples of hummus & pita bread while we waited for our order, and after dinner gave us samples of their freshly made Baklava. Wow! So good. The atmosphere is simple, but the people are genuine and nice. We ordered one of the plate dinners and a Gyro, which was much too much food for two people. Made good leftovers.

THE place to go for gyros!

By Kathleen B |

some of the best gyros we have had in years! Heaping portions - we couldn't eat all the meat and friendly service

Fresh, authentic, and amazing!

By Kristina F |

Arslan's Gyros is so good! I've had a lot of Mediterranean food and this was amazing! It's cheap and they have a wonderful variety platter for 1 to 4 people which was so filling. And it's Halal :)

Falafel sandwhich

By Regan H |

Falafel sandwich had good flavor but was a little oily. The fries were crunchy, salty, and addictive.

Greek Food from Heaven

By Adele B |

Arslan is an artist whose canvas is the plate!! Not only is his food (from gyro to greek surprise platter) mouthwateringly delicious, they are beautiful to behold! Hidden by a very unassuming store/restaurant front is some of the best greek food I have ever had. Please visit when you are in Mission Bay/San Diego because you will not be disappointed—I want to see this man the chef at his own four-star restaurant soonest!!! Tell him Adele and Doug sent you!!!

If you want fine dining don't eat here

By Dan M |

This place is somewhat of a gem, it looks like a cheap fast food takeout, but the food is fantastic. We came here one night and was a little hesitant as the place was empty. We wanted Greek and were done searching so we went in. The owners daughter was running the place, doing the orders, making the food, serving on tables, so it was a good thing it wasn't busy. While we were there she had a steady stream of locals coming for their Gyro to take home. What I like about Gyros is that they have great pita bread and she loaded it up with meat and fillings but then brought us the sauce to put on ourselves. I like that as most shops will drown the pita with the sauces. The service was top notch, the food was cheap and very good, better than most. If you want a gyro while in Pacific Beach go here and enjoy.

Best hospitality
