Loved the range of tacos & BBQs in Austin but at some point a woman wants a great salad! Eggs with fresh salsa with the perfect amount of cilantro. A sandwich with multigrain bread, not a tortilla shell. This was the place fora reasonably-priced, unpretentious, satisfying lunch.

I ordered two Thai Tacos for $3 each, and they were delicious. They were all veggie, but filling. The sauce was perfect, flavorful and tangy but not overwhelming. The atmosphere is unique. You can eat inside down the stairs and feel like your "underground" or at a table outside on the sidewalk. It's a small but hopping place. You order at the register and they bring it to you. Very friendly.

Cool place. Walked by it several times before I found out what it was. Stopped in for a chicken salad sandwich. Nice, cool , underground vibe. A little wait, but not more than usual. Good sandwich, nice, friendly staff.

Neat little restaurant with a cool coffee house vibe. Migas were delicious and my wife’s breakfast sandwich was just as good. Only disappointment was that I did not properly do my research. Eggs Benedict menu options are weekend only - 🙃

Great for coffee and some breakfast very early in the morning. Especially if you are staying at the At&t Conference Center.

I really really loved the atmosphere at Arturo's, it's groove, hipster, stylish. And the expresso was literarily amazing. That's the perfect place to chill!

My spouse and I were looking for a good, nearby place for brunch and lucked up on Arturo’s right as it opened. WOW. The food was incredible! I had the veggie eggs Benedict and my spouse had the veggie scramble. We ended up sharing the French toast and LET ME TELL YOU - the food was amazing. Our waitress was a gem and made sure we always had full cups of coffee. I will definitely go there again!

Great atmosphere and frequently staff. Lots of locals coming in the doors while we sat here so must be good. Perfect way to end out Austin trip! The Works breakfast taco was amazing.

I'm halfway through a three-day business trip to Austin, and maybe the most memorable meal I've eaten so far was the migas plate at Arturo's. I visit San Antonio and Austin pretty often for work, and eat migas breakfast tacos every chance I get. This migas plate gave my absolute favorite migas taco - from Blanco Cafe in San Antonio - a run for its money. In a town where the cost of a good meal seems to be on the rise, Arturo's is an outstanding affordable option for a genuine Austin vibe and delicious food. Service at Arturo's is pretty much non-existent (you order at a counter, they deliver it to your table), but honestly that didn't impact my experience at all.

Loved this place! From the excellent service, very nice salads we had for lunch, and the quirky "underground" seating area. To top it off, there is a hilarious "billboard wall" with fabulous quotes and images (PS! If you are a fan of Trump, you might not find it as funny...).

I was staying at the AT&T Executive Center on a gorgeous evening last week. I couldn't bear to get room service so I got on my map and with the help of Yelp and you guys, I found Arturo's. It was just two blocks away and a nice way to get out and stretch my legs. The kid who was there took my order of quesadillas, after leading me the right direction, and then he cooked it to order. he helped me pick out a beer and I took it all back to my room. it was delicious and light and fresh. Just what a girl need when visiting Austin. I would totally visit Arturo's again. In fact, I can't wait! Thanks for the suggestion, y'all.

Went here for breakfast with a colleague recently, while staying at Hilton Garden Inn across the street. I had two custom breakfast tacos; one with egg, sausage and cheese and one with egg, black beans and mushrooms. They were absolutely amazing. Funky decor inside, too. I highly recommend this place.

El diablo was so good! My sister enjoyed her eggs Benedict as well. I highly recommend. Make reservations if you pre-plan breakfast. We showed up about 10minutes after they opened and got the last table available.

This place was really crowded, but for a good reason. The chicken salad sandwich was the best! They have a "secret recipe" do I guess I am just going to have to come back for another one soon :)

Found this little place through trip advisor. We read the reviews and gave it a try. The wife and I were amazed with the food and service. You have to go if you are ever in town for sure! The breakfast is to die for!

A friendly place, with a few outdoor tables but essentially an indoor, downstairs eatery. You order at the counter at street level, then walk down a short flight of steps to find a table. Your food is delivered to you at your table. They offer lots of options for vegetarians - from grilled vege quesadillas to sandwiches and salads - which one of our party particularly appreciated. This place doesn't pretend to be modern or trendy, just comfortable and reliable. Situated on a pleasant little street with a bit of character, Arturo's is within walking distance of both the university and several of the museums there, and downtown, making it a good meeting place.

Our hotel recommended this place for breakfast tacos and it did not disappoint! Very much a locals hangout - they have a huge selection of tacos which were amazing. Fantastic coffee and friendly staff as well - great way to start a day of exploration.

The only other vegetarian brunch choices were waffles or pancakes, although they'd probably be willing to leave out meat in some of their egg dishes. But this was a Texas brunch. Cute little place near the capital. We were a little disappointed that they were out of decaf espresso (we'd already gotten enough caffeine). Great jazz soundtrack.

Period. The service was incredible and the food was more than up to par with that. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the inside looks very hipster. I had a variation of their eggs Benedict that made me want to eat until I exploded. BEST BREAKFAST EVER.

We popped into this cafe for breakfast tacos one weekday morning and they were so good, we came back another day....but discovered that on the weekends it's a waiter service, different menu sort of place. Food was still good but it was a disappointment to not be able to get those tacos. Coffee's good but beware that it's $1 or 75 cents for refills.

We were looking for an alternative to the free breakfast buffet offered at our hotel and we found this place just down the street. Breakfast sandwiches and migas with homefries were tasty. The place looks a little rough around the ages but the staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was good. You can eat there in the little dining space or get the food to go.

I stopped in this morning for coffee and a breakfast sandwich, and it was great! I loved the atmosphere--small, funky, with good people and reasonable prices. My breakfast sandwich was tasty, and I was sad when my coffee was gone

Wow. I wish I could pack this place up and bring it home with us. Husband had the Austin and I had the Migas Benedict. Personally I liked the Austin more but I love avocado, but both were excellent! The chipotle hollandaise was to die for. We sat outside in the shade and it was lovely. We were even offered a warm cookie, straight out of the oven on the house post-meal. It was also amazing. Just a stones throw from the hotel... If you're staying at the Hampton and don't go here, you're missing out! Yum yum!

Quick service, good variety, and good value make this an interesting place for breakfast, lunch or brunch. It looks like a favorite for workers in the nearby capitol building.

Picked up a hearty local style breakfast just 2# blocks up from our hotel. Cheap, fast & decent food. Well worth the visit.

Easy. Arturo has good sandwiches, salads quesadillas and all the iced drink you want. Accessible and parking.

Stopped at Arturo’s for a quick breakfast bite. Ordering process at the front desk was quick and efficient. Very eclectic “underground” dining area with cool art. We both had huevos rancheros and I had chorizo added to my order. The dish was very flavorful and the green salsa had a kick for sure. Only complaint is our 2 plates were both off in temperature- meaning not very hot. Other than that, good food at a good value.

Top notch for food and environment. Loved the underground concept …. Food was quick to be served, had great flavor and I savored every bite. Had a ranch melt and friend had the Migas especial. Both meals were great with a decent price.

Cool local place for breakfast. Tacos, Tex-Mex, and coffee. Eclectic surroundings and a peaceful vibe. Work from local artists on the walls.

This is quintessential Austin eccentric. A cool small spot with a sunken dining area and a few tables outside on the sidewalk. Casual atmosphere. Order at the counter when you walk in. Serve yourself your own coffee/tea/water. Grab a number and your food will be delivered after it is cooked to order. I had the Migas breakfast taco and the spicy chicken breakfast taco and a cup of dark roast Guatemalan coffee. Everything was excellent. The soft flour tortillas were fresh. The migas had a wonderful crunch. The spicy chicken was great. The guy behind the counter was nice and welcoming to this first-timer (he knew many of the other customers by name). And the food server was equally nice. Great place.

I told them about my allergy when I ordered. They brought me my meal with the food I am allergic to visible. I sent it back. Then they brought out a meal and the food I’m allergic too was not visible but when I bit into it I discovered the food I am allergic to. I’ve been suffering from the reaction to that food for the past 4 days.

No complaints! Great food, managed to slip in before the line got too long, and it's not crazy expensive!!! It makes a nice change from the standard breakfast. Change loco is French toast made with spicy jalapeño bread, add bacon to it for a delicious combo!

I stopped here for a quick bite before we left Austin. Unfortunately we missed the breakfast tacos. But we did get to try a sandwich and a veggie taco and they were both yummy. This seems to be a spot were people who work in the area go for lunch. Great stop for lunch or breakfast if you are staying in the area. sometimes you just want a good meal but with out all the bells and whistles. This would be it.

Walked to this funky little cafe for lunch on a recommendation from the Hampton Inn hotel staff - so glad we did. Came back the next day for brunch. The chipotle chicken sandwich is wonderful, as is their southwest french toast (complete with crispy bacon). Staff was friendly and helpful.

You know, the food is pretty good, nothing outstanding but because of a few employees who really don't seem to care about customer satisfaction I probably won't go back. It is convenient to the Capitol but would rather give my business to someone that wants to earn it.

Good spot for lunch. Order at the counter sit down and they bring the food to your table. Nice fresh tasty salads. Quality and taste is very good. Nothing special about the ambiance, but good for a quick, tasty and fresh lunch.

Definitely draws a younger crowd for breakfast and lunch, but I felt comfortable (in my 50s) and the food was great. They're know for their somewhat slow service because they have so much customers, but food was delicious and hot when it arrived. Give it a try!

Had the migas and they were great. Excellent espresso. Atmosphere cute and funky. Will definitely be back. My friend had the Ranch melt and the the bread was delicious.

Breakfast at Arturo's Underground did not disappoint! The food was great, coffee was hot and prices were fair. Hubs and brother had chorizo and eggs, served with black beans and home fries. They were happy with the choice. I had The Works taco filled with meat, eggs, cheese and potatoes and $3 bucks and change it was filling and delicious!

We stopped in here for a late breakfast. They had a variety of options - I went for the peace taco (I think) with spinach and mushroom. Husband had a big plate of eggs with tortillas cooked right in there and he loved it. Son had basic eggs and toast. Home fries very, very good. Not a lot of pure 'bakery' goods - I was hoping for a pastry of some sort for my daughter but not much of a selection. Some cookies and some other items but not what I would call a bakery. Still would go back there for the tacos, home fries and eggs in a heartbeat.

We were staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Austin University Capitol Hill and the bartender there recommended Arturo's Underground for breakfast. It is just across the street from the hotel, so very convenient. We arrived a few minutes before it opened at 8 am on a Friday and were the second folks through the door. You order at the counter, get a number, and take a seat if you're dining in. We chose the basement seating. Great music was playing on the sound system. Coffee was excellent and the breakfast tacos were the tops!! Wish we lived closer so we could go more often. Staff were very friendly.

We had breakfast at these location because it was close to our hotel the Hampton Inn , we really enjoyed the breakfast and the quesadillas with the black beans were super delicious I recommend this place because it was very clean and the prices are not that bad.

I ate dinner last night at Arturo's because it is a very short walk from the Hampton Inn and it had good reviews. I ordered the Southwestern Quesadilla that came with black beans and rice. Really good, flavorful quesadilla and best black beans I have ever had! It's a really cool place with a funky vibe. Service was great too. Definitely check it out.

We had 5 adults plus a baby and sat at a picnic table outside. My husband enjoyed a Cobb salad and the others enjoyed their selections. The different types of coffees were enjoyed by all. The mango mimosa was too sweet for me.

Arturo's is a great little lunch place if you're downtown near the Capitol. They have great sandwiches, salads, and lots of other things at a reasonable price. Seating is very limited, though, and all the tables are located down a flight of stairs. There are a couple of picnic tables outside so, if the weather's nice, that's an option.

I stopped in here for breakfast one morning and it was packed so I had time to read the things they had posted on the walls. I like to support all-inclusive business owners who don’t feel the need to make persons uncomfortable by posting mean spirited or bigoted statements publicly. I simply left and chose not to eat there. I’m sure I’m not the first. As for the food; it looked good, but I’ll spend my money in a place that welcomes all.

We had breakfast here before heading to the Austin City Limits festival and it was a great way to begin a long, fun day! The menu had a nice selection and our breakfast was fantastic. The atmosphere was even better, with interesting art, patrons and servers. Don't forget to grab a free chocolate chip cookie on the way out!

Famous for their quesadillas, they also have a good variety of other choices for a unique lunch experience

Ordered the migas, and wow were they good! Loved the potatoes that came with the meal. Was seated right away. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Really cool little place to eat.

Stopped here after a night on sixth street. The perfect hang over food! Delicious combos and a fun Austin ambiance. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. Everything was tasty and we enjoyed checking out the diverse artwork and decor in their dining rooms downstairs.

On our first visit we split one of their specialtybrunch items which was an eggs Benedict. Simply delicious. We arrived right as they were opening which was a good idea because they filled up very fast. The next morning we went back for breakfast tacos and were equally pleased. The breakfast tacos are reasonably priced and also delicious.

The atmosphere in this place is amazing, excellent service, the staff has a great personality. The food is very tasty, right temperature and you don’t wait to much to get your meal. I would definitely recommend this place, whenever I come back to Austin, I will bring my family here.

Came here on our last day in Austin. Lots of great items on the menu, my friend and I settled for the Huevos Rancheros. The food came out quickly , it was hot and delicious. Especially the beans, potatoes and salsa. Highly recommended!

We found this adorable little restaurant while walking near our hotel. It is about half a block from a Hampton Inn and open on Sundays so we stopped in for brunch. The staff here are so friendly, you almost feel like you're at a friends house. They serve fabulous meals with a smile and offer outdoor seating, which coupled with the beautiful Austin weather, is a win-win. The Caribbean french toast is amazing all by itself but add a cafe mocha and you are in heaven! The migas and huevos rancheros are stand-outs as well. I am so jealous of locals who get to stop by here on the way to work for a delightful meal or coffee. If you don't stop here on your next visit to Austin, you are missing out.

Unique place, order as you walk in, grab a beverage from the cooler, take your order number and walk down a few stairs and you food will be brought to you....

Everything about Arturo’s was incredible. We had an amazing server, the food was spectacular, and the mimosa carafe just put everything over the top. Highly recommend the Texas BLT and Arturo Scramble. Worth the wait. Cool vibe.

Lunch is pretty good; given the dearth of restaurants in this neighborhood, it's worth checking out. That said, you come here for the breakfast tacos. Excellent, if not outstanding. Loads of options, totally customizable. Reasonably priced; extremely tasty. I've heard weekend brunch is pretty good; no personal experience.

Just a fun, funky place to have coffee or lunch. Great 1960ish vibe. Excellent coffee, good bread and tasty sandwiches with healthy fresh greens. Was a short block from my hotel, which had no restaurant, so this became my coffee stop. Outdoor seating a pleasant experience watching the people walk by. Definitely a must experience when in Austin.

One of the best hole in the wall breakfast places in downtown Austin. Best variety of eggs Benedict and French toast. This place is no longer a best kept secret!

If you read my reviews regularly (because people do that, right?) you will know that I don't eat eggs which makes breakfast a challenge! Arturo's made that a non-issue with the BEST breakfast tacos I have ever had. Ever. No Joke. The fresh flour tortillas are heartily filled with your choice of ingredients and while most people will like to include fluffy scrambled eggs in their breakfast tacos - i'ts not entirely necessary to be satisfied! Oh, and definitely use the salsa they give with your tacos - so fresh and bright! It was so good we went twice!

This place is small and near to the office for a quick bite. The options to eat are decent and would recommend for a quick lunch - nothing too great about the seating area or other services. Take away might be a good option.

Arturo's underground cafe is a secret place every time I find it... tucked away on 17th I always randomly find it... cool underground seating and some outside tables - very cool waiters and the most delicious breakfast - other stuff too but I have only eaten breakfast here... th benedicts are scrumptious! Go find it now!!

Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I tried this hidden gem while in Austin, TX. It is an easy walk from the Doubletree Suites. I was able to customize my own quesadilla with chicken and mushrooms for lunch and the food was quite tasty. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The coolest seating was in the basement. Casual attire with a laid-back atmosphere!

The guys at Arturo's never let me down! Great food, awesome service, snazzy ambiance...they make my day better on a regular basis. I look forward to my coffee stop here each day.

My friend and I were looking for a fun, local spot for lunch and decided on Arturo's. The inside is fun and artsy. The food was terrific, especially the salads. Highly recommend if you are nearby.

This a nice little spot if you want a quick decent breakfast. You order in at the counter and get seated afterwards. No table service. They offer a variety of tex-mex breakfast and brunch options. I’d recommend it for the quality of the service and food served.

This is an unusual hole in the wall with a very tasty and unique menu. We got some sandwiches to go, since they were near our hotel (Hampton), and wished we could come back for Sunday brunch. Reasonably priced, nice surprise.

The coffee wasn’t really the best and the tacos were nothing special. The atmosphere feels like a european hostel which is kinda fun and the art on the walls is very nice. This is a fun place and very cheap, don’t be afraid to stop by. The tortillas are made in house and are quite delicious so there is that.

This was a nice break from the hotel breakfast offerings. As I sat waiting my food I noticed person after person coming in with ID tags from the surrounding workplaces. Clearly Arturo’s was a local favourite. I tried the chorizo and eggs (scrambled up together) which came with tortillas, potatoes, black beans and salsa. The food was unpretentious, affordable and very good. If you need wifi, Arturo’s doesn’t offer it even though it is listed in nearby networks (according to the server a nearby apartment named their network Arturo’s). Many folks were taking out but there is seating available downstairs or on the sidewalk. The sweetened iced tea was perfectly seasoned and “bottomless”

The eggs benedict are amazing. I had the vegetarian and my husband had the Austin. Both were amazing. Now I want to try other items on the menu. Really close to my house and great.

It's a small place, but the food is tasty. We went for a Sunday brunch. Ate Western melt and Ultimo. Último was the best and also the largest. I would go back for the food... Service was alright also. But after waiting outside for a table we had to wait a loooot for food to come to the table. Anyway, good food for $9-12/dish.

If you are looking for where locals find the best brunch value in the downtown/UT campus area, this is it! Friendly service, fun Texas-size meals and drinks (no liquor license, but their beer-and- clamato-based Bloody Larry is perfection!).

Check out happy hour at this restaurant. We ordered some drinks which were great and had free access to a happy hour type buffet. It hit the spot after a long day.

In Austin for a few days, got a recommendation for Arturo's and decided to check it out. (It was only 400 yds from where my husband was working.) Looks a little sketchy from the outside but don't let that fool you. The food is tasty. I had the chicken salad sandwich - yummy! They say it's a secret recipe and maybe so. I could see carrots, onions, and pickles along with chicken all wrapped in a mayo-like dressing. I think that is the secret part. The sub roll is lighted toasted which I prefer. Husband had a turkey and swiss and there was nothing left on his plate. Seating is limited and downstairs from the kitchen. Its got some funky decor that I appreciated. Staff was friendly and quick.

Quaint lil place with limited seating. Service was prompt and friendly. Coffee hot and breakfast plates were good. Fair value. Would we go back? Sure.

The sandwich and quesadilla menus are solid, too, but the breakfast really stands out. Fantastic migas, and an excellent (and sizeable) carafe of mimosas for only $14!!

Went to Arturo's in mid-August on trip to Austin. Wow, what a great brunch. I had the Diablo Scrambler and my son had the banana waffles. They were absolutely stupendous, delicious. Neat place with lots of cool art on the walls and nice people too.

The breakfasts are really good too. the sandwiches are creative as well as tasty. Try the Amalfi--black olive tapenade, melted cheese and cucumbers (I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP). The owner who is usually at the cash register is happy you are there, happy he is there,happy-- he will make you happy, too.

Stopped in for breakfast tacos at Arturo's while staying at the Hampton Inn. Great little hidden gem. Food is really good especially for the price. A couple of bucks for a taco feels like a steal. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Servers/cashier were fine but a bit standoff-ish. Food makes up for it. Eclecticly Austin.

I recommend Arturo's. Not fancy but tucked away nice place to grab a drink or lunch. I have had many sandwiches, coffee drinks, and they sell Topo Chico...

Chipotle Chicken and Bacon taco with Avocado. the milaga is very good too. There are other things on the menu, but we wanted tacos

We stopped for lunch after passing by in the morning. We were a little hesitant with the small menu but don't be!! The food was so so good! It's a bit of a wait but it says that on the menu. Get a carafe of mimosas, sit outside and enjoy the down time. It really is worth stopping!

It's a got a cozy, local feel with good food. Relaxed and easy atmosphere. Off on a little side street it feels like you've been let in on a cool, little secret that you definitely want to share!

Needless to say, we don't get Tex-Mex breakfast food on the east coast so we went looking for it. Based on reviews, we selected Arturo's. It's good. We ordered every combination of breakfast taco available. We ate 2-3 each and were so full we had to take some with us. It's fresh, it's tasty, it's not even expensive. Loved it!

What a great spot. Sat outside on a sunny day and had a terrific meal. No chain food here. The entire menu is unique and al the food we had was great. Cold sake Bloody Mary was exceptional.

Every place in Austin is pretty much....interested. Arturo's is deceptively small when you first walk in the door. From the order counter you can see food being prepared, and a hall to the restrooms. But, the menu is fresh and interesting, the staff are nice and just a few steps away is a large basement dining area for you and friends to have a nice meal. Tables outside for those who love Austin weather. It's worth a trip back for me just because of the menu choices. Try the fudge brownie and scones!

We walked in and were greeted by friendly staff and a diverse chalkboard menu. I had the adobo chicken sandwich and my fiancée had chicken salad. Both were delicious. Great vibe in the basement seating area and lots of cool movie paraphernalia scattered throughout. Definitely a solid spot for a quick meal!

Great lunch spot...basement location feels like NYC.

After a bachelor party weekend, I grabbed Sunday brunch at Arturo’s. Delicious food, quick service, cheap prices. Only issue is they don’t take reservations, so I recommend getting there right when they open. Also it’s cash only, but they have an atm.

If you like funky with a side of great food, this is your place. Party of about 20, and I didn't hear a single complaint. Creative selections, good service, brunch theme on weekends until 3:00. I had the Ultima sandwich...excellent. Can be a bit loud. Decor is very entertaining. Portions appropriate.

Sunday morning brunch was delicious. Many great choices on the menu. Texas eggs in a basket was so yummy on the jalapeño cheese bread. Small quaint restaurant with super friendly and welcoming employees! Would definitely come back the next time I'm in Austin.

Had to repost because owner clearly lacks hospitality. l would have gave 3 star, 4 star is really pushing it, but staff asked me turn down my phone volume. I was watching reels on my phone. Which has approximately 5-6ft radius, **Even Though the next room over had a group so loud I could hear their entire conversation.** Oh and I'm apparently suppose to feel embarrassed, that "he called me out" more like I'm embarrassed I paid 55$ for mediocre breakfast. Oh I had the Austin Egg Benedict, which was eh. Since owner gets annoyed by customers watching videos. They Should rename restaurant "Arturo's Library and 6 egg menu items." Who watches movies while dining, asked the dumb dumb, Last I checked people go out to dine, converse, Watch movies, do Work, Etc. Since it's your restaurant you should post your dumb rules, and pick up a course for hospitality which you clearly and obviously lack. Save yourself from dated decor, disgusting small bathroom, small and hot restaurant, with mediocre food. I'm sure he will have another snarly comment To add, just proves you should take your money elsewhere. Thanks for a crappy experience, way to go Austin going out with a bang or in this case "shhhh this is a library"

We stopped here for a quick breakfast before checking out the Bullock Museum(its in walking distance). The cashier was super friendly and it wasn't too crowded on a Monday mid-morning. The art inside is so cute and lowkey it makes you feel like you're in someones well decorated basement. They had free ice water at the front which was much appreciated as the temperatures were starting to climb outside. We sat for probably about 10 mins and then our food arrived. I had chorizo and eggs and my boyfriend got the huevos rancheros. It was all so delicious and filled us up as we started our day. The prices were reasonable, we added a mimosa and the total came to about 25$. Would definitely return here if in the area again.

We were a group of 5 and got here early so we had luck getting a table. When we left at 11:00, there was a line so it's definitely a popular place. And totally understand why. The food is fabulous. We tried a variety of the breakfast dishes and every one of us was raving about our meal - eggs dishes, pancakes, etc.. Great portions, too. Servers were so friendly. And loved the sense of humor in the decor. Definitely would return here on another trip to Austin.

I have been wanting to go here for ages but was never in the area. We walked here in about 10 minutes (tops) from a visit to the Bob Bullock Museum. The outside sign is half covered with vines so it helps if you have the address. You order in a small front room and then walk down stairs to 2 tiny rooms with seating. I think they also offer some seating on the sidewalk but it was about 1000 degrees so nothing was set up outside. I don't think it's wheelchair accessible- but there might be another way into the dining area. For lunch they basically have 8 flavors combos (like Thai) and you can have them on a sandwich, a quesadilla or a salad. I ordered the Thai version of a quesadilla with rice & beans and it was delicious. My friend got the veggie version and loved hers too. Our food was fresh and tasty. There was some fun art and the walls were painted with murals. It wasn't busy at all and we arrived at 12:10 expecting it to be crazy. By 12:45 it was pretty much empty.

This is certainly a hole in the wall type of place, just slightly off the beaten path, but well worth the trip to eat at. It has a little outdoor seating and some inside seating. The food was fresh and delicious and served extremely fast for food that is being prepared when you order it. We ordered two quesadillas that come with a side of rice and beans and they were up in minutes. Right size portion for an afternoon bite. I would hit this place up again when in Austin.

Breakfast plate with classic bacon, eggs and toast was perfect for my son while breakfast tacos were awesome for everyone The migas were delicious Mimosas to top it all off Great value for an excellent breakfast Staff was efficient and friendly

I had a deluxe on jalapeño bread. I would defiantly recommend upgrading to the jalapeño bread. It was amazing. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Very small but will definitely go back!

Arturo's is a gem. They serve breakfast and lunch, and they do not disappoint. Their really terrific item is their breakfast taco menu. Make your own, or order one of their suggestions. My favorite is the Works taco, which has egg, lots of meat, and more meat. I drool when I see it. From their lunch menu, their salads and quesadillas are just delightful. They have some seating outside, which is usually a great place to eat. They also have a terrific underground area that can hold a lot more. It's wonderful. Go.

Three of the horde went in search of an a hardy breakfast and found one at this local legend. I had the Austin special with a side of bacon and was not disappointed.

You have to try the AUSTIN Benedict with yummy chipotle hollandaise sauce and bacon. It's a great atmosphere with eclectic design and even a neon Elvis painting. Great service too. Expect to pay at the check out table....

After a few mornings of a hotel breakfast, we wanted to venture out for something different. This place was close by, so we gave it a try. My first note is that although "bakery" is in the name, the cafe does not serve any pastries whatsoever. The menu consists mostly of breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwiches. Our coffees were served in chipped mugs, but the food was pretty tasty. It definitely has an underground NYC feel to it, so if you're looking for something more posh or dainty, this isn't the place for you. We probably wouldn't return, but don't regret trying it out.

Delicious brunch. Get there before the chinati sells out! Food was great, good atmosphere, only a small wait. Recommend.

Make sure your whole party is there or they won't put you the waiting list. The eggs benedicts were amazing. My buddy had the Caribbean French toast and that was amazing also. The wait for the food takes longer than usual but its worth it.

Fantastic little gem. The gentleman taking our order was welcoming and friendly. He answered questions about the food and was easy to talk to. When you walk into the dining area it is super cool. Underground and has a laid back vibe. Food was great... we had the migas. Would come again!

Reasonably priced lunch spot (about the price of a Chipotle restaurant). Several choices of unique quesadillas, salads and sandwiches. Recommend the Chipotle Chicken sandwich (its spicy!) and the Thai Chicken sandwich. I agree this spot is a hidden gem!

Ambience is lively, wall art is attractive, service is good, and food is awesome! I wish they had more of a coffee variance, nonetheless, this place is a "got to go to" spot!

Highly recommend! Extremely fast delivery and the quesadillas are amazing! My 3 kids finished their plates!

I only tried the coffee at Arturo's and it was great. My hotel was close by and only offered horrible drip coffee. The lattes I ordered were lovely and great value at $3. Service was very pleasant

Thai chicken salad was wonderful. Excellent portion of chicken and just the right overall lunch portion. The turkey and Swiss sandwich was very flavorful- and an abundance of turkey. Side salad nice and fresh. Service was prompt and courteous. Would recommend for a non chain place for lunch!

Went for brunch with a couple friends one Sunday. The location is very cute, a colorful outside but it's almost tucked away. We sat in a section that was partially underground, still with plenty of natural light. The food was tasty (I tried some sort of eggs benedict) and there were free chocolate chip cookies as part of a Heathen Happy Hour. Very enjoyable trip.

Arturos is great for a number of reasons, but it is my favorite for two. First, the food is fabulous. Everything has been over the top tasty. Second, it is a cool place. You order upstairs and then decend into the basement. This is so Austin, and it makes the dining experience more fun that it is at other lunch spots I know.

Here in austin for a meeting, got this amazing egg "migas" breakfast plate with cilantro, jalapenos, salsa, black beans and tortillas. I stay gluten free & they were happy to include corn tortillas. Portions were goldilocks "just right". Latte was pulled to my picky specs and service was fast & friendly. Loved it and will be back!

Stopped in for Saturday brunch during our trip to Austin. I had a very good Western scramble but the wife's chipotle eggs benedict made me ask the waiter for the Arturo's cookbook. Since the cookbook isn't out yet I guess we will have to go back soon. Ambiance cost the fifth star as the place was a little noisy for our tastes.

5 min walk from the AT&T Conference Center. Solid "American" breakfast that my son and cousin had and I went for two breakfast tacos that were GREAT. Don't let the outside of the place fool you. Go for it!

Met as a group with children for breakfast Sunday morning and was impressed with the food and service. Odd that they don't have a website, but I guess they are going for that underground feel. Found parking right in front!

Stopped in for breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised that the seating area was almost empty. Seems most folks order tacos to go. I placed my order at the counter and had a seat. While the food took a bit to arrive it was hot and absolutely fresh!! I had the Eggs Mexicana. So, so good!! The beans and patties were also tasty. I would definitely recommend and plan to visit again.

We wanted a place not in downtown to make parking a little easier, and found Arturo's (and on-street parking), We each ordered a salad, different levels of heat, choices on dressing, and took them outside to eat at the tables on the sidewalk. Can I say "Yum"?!!! Fresh, nice presentation, friendly staff. I would go back definitely!

Absolutely delish breakfast. Weird and strange all at the same time. Totally expected in Austin. Potato Hash and Mimosas in the morning are always a winner!

Given the word "bakery" in the title, we stopped in hoping for a nice muffin or croissant for our morning snack with lattes. All they had was day-olds, but the very friendly staff took the opportunity to introduce us Canadians to the breakfast taco, which turned out to be a great alternative. We enjoyed the weird Austin art on the walls, and came back a second time later in the week, as it is very well-placed for some of the major sights. Was very attracted by their Heathen Happy Hour brunch on Sunday mornings, maybe next time!

So, I'll be upfront and say that I'm pretty biased in favor of this place -- I literally work down an alley from Arturo's, and I love it. Whatever picture that's currently featured absolutely does not do justice to the yumminess they serve up. In the mornings, I love their Miga taco -- not sure why it's Miga and not Migas, but I don't know Spanish, either, so I'm okay with that. But the crunchy tortilla strips, with the onions and .. something else (tomatoes? pico? ) -- you'd think after 6+ years of ordering, I'd know, but frankly, I am too busy enjoying the medley of deliciousness that I overlook details. But really, it's their salsa that does it for me -- I can't even describe why or what, and everyone's salsa preferences are unique, like fingerprints. But this spicy, not-chunky-but-akin-to-pulp "sauce" is delicioso! (Sorry, kiddos are influencing me!) Anyway -- but, tied with their breakfast taco as my go-to, is my lunch staple -- or, perhaps I should say "staples." Their Thai Chicken Salad is out of this world: sweet Asian marinated chicken, with a sweet Asian salad dressing of some kind (again, I apologize for lack of a better description), atop always fresh lettuce + veggies = yum. But, sometimes (okay, perhaps a lot of times) a salad just doesn't cut it -- enter the heartier version of that salad: the Sesame Ginger Chicken Quesadilla. Same sweet Asian chicken, but with caramelized onions + melty cheese + shredded carrots on a tortilla, "grilled" (on the flattop) to perfection. Personally, I dig their beans and rice, especially together, but I know those aren't the cup of tea for some of my friends, who pay an upcharge for substituting a salad. Watch what time you go if you're headed in for lunch -- they're only open on weekdays, with a Sunday brunch from 10-1 or 10-2. But the office lunch-hour-rush begins picking up 10-15 minutes before noon, and the last time I went around 1:15, it was still busy busy. Worth the wait, though!

Went here for SundayFunday/Brunch. First, the carafe of mimosas is large and inexpensive. Great way to start the day. Decided to skip the appetizers so I could save room for mimosas. Had the Diablo which was quite phenomenal. It was rich and tasty. The hollandaise sauce was just the right amount of spicy. It was quite filling. Since it was SundayFunday, the calories do not count. The coffee was tasty and refilled often. The ambiance is funky and cool. There is a Mr. T lunchbox on display. Need I say more. Service was good and prompt. Shall return.

Veggie quesadilla and Southwest Chicken salad were delicious. Simple food done well. Grungy, off the beaten track, hidden neighborhood gem.

Had the French toast breakfast sandwich and my husband had the Texas eggs in a hole and there is nothing left on our plate! They got us in super quick and it was a neat atmosphere. They have mimosas but I didn’t get one. We will have to come back and try them! Wait staff is friendly and prompt. Our coffee and water never ran dry. Perfect way to start game day! HOOK EM HORNS! 🤘🏻

This places offers tacos and other breakfast options. They have lunch also but we did not try that. Order at the counter, seating is downstairs. I had two tacos and my husband had a breakfast sandwich. Decor is quirky. We would definitely go back.

I got a chicken quesadilla, rice, and black beans. Everything was very tasty even the hot sauce. It was not expensive either. Very fast too.

I love going to Arturo's to grab a cup of coffee and breakfast tacos. The staff is very personable and seems to have a relationship with the regulars. Sometimes there is a wait during busier times of the day, but it's always worth it.

Great find. Get the early for brunch. It is very popular. I recommend the Ultimo sandwich. The french toast is tasty as well. Underground without being dark.

Funky take on Mexican, creative breakfast plates: the Diablo - grilled jalapeno cheese bread topped with bacon, cheddar, fried eggs, chipotle hollandaise, grilled jalapeno and onions - tasty and decadent; and the Bueno (more reasonable) egg scramble with sausage, jalapeno, tomato, onion chipotle, cilantro and cheddar. These are heavy duty - you can skip your next meal for sure!

Perhaps I am biased, since it is a block away from my office, but if I haven't had time to eat breakfast, Arturo's is a great place to pick up a breakfast taco and coffee. My favorite is bacon, eggs, cheese and potatoes. Their black bean and egg tacos are excellent as well.

This is a great place for breakfast, lunch, blunch. Although the quesadillas are uber-popular, the tacos are equally tasty. The salads are also good. The chipotle chicken in any of the dishes must trigger some type of happy place in the tastebuds--you will savor every zen moment. The barista here makes the perfect espresso and Americano. They use local Coffee Traders coffee. And, all of the staff treat you like you were visiting their home for dinner. Friendly, accommodating, and just plain friendly. Plenty of seating inside [with colorful artwork downstairs] and outside [picnic benches]. Great little neighborhood for photo buffs who like some of the historic architecture.

Cool spot! It was our first time and the staff was very helpful. The food came fast and was very good. Great Black Beans.

This place would defiantly qualify as a dive but it’s charming and the food is outstanding! We went on a Sunday and you can’t beat the “Heathen Happy Hour” that consists of fresh-from-the –oven chocolate chip cookies (free, 1 per person) and $10 Mimosa carafes. We ordered the Caribbean French Toast and the Texas Eggs in a Basket…….sooooooo amazing! Portions were generous; we did not go away hungry in the least! French Toast was not too thick or soggy and the bananas were fresh. They use some sort of jalapeno bread in the eggs in a basket dish and it was delicious. Our server was friendly and efficient and we got our food in a timely manner. This is a MUST if you are in the area!
4 years later - still wonderful
This is a hidden gem that you simply must try. We visited here 4 years ago on a family vacation and made a point of stopping by on our trip to Austin (15 minute walk in the rain so you know we wanted it). We had good timing for the Saturday brunch and quickly got a good table. The husband had the migas (scrambled eggs with peppers and tortilla chips) and I had fried eggs on the jalapeno bread toast. Let's just say we both said it was worth the walk in the rain and better than the $400 steak dinner we had the night before. Service is great here, very 'local' - encourage anyone to seek this place out.
