I don't even know where to begin so let me try...Three of us had a birthday dinner here on January 16. We were violently ill for 3 to 4 days (2 of us for four days). One of us made a complaint to the Department of Health and I wish that I would have. An email was sent on January 8 letting them know that we were sick and worried. I called the manager, Cameron and the Operation Manager, Sarah, thirty times including today. Never did they once call me back or respond to our emails and I even had to stop by four times. It has been a truly horrible experience, and when I finally did get a hold of him today because let me say this again, they made no effort to ever respond to any of the calls, emails, or the times we stopped by, he told me today that per the company policy there is no credit, no reimbursement and nothing they could do. Be aware of these managers and their credibility to handle something that causes people to be ill from eating their food even the common decency to respond even once. I hope the owner sees this and gives me some feedback.

Fantastic Mexican steakhouse. Beware, this is not a place for the vegetarian set. I had the ribeye tacos, and my friend had the carne asada. Both were cooked to perfection and well presented. The fresh salsa bar was the icing on the cake and really complimented my tacos. . The traditional margarita was quite delicious too. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to go back!

meal was great! fancy Mexican the meat was delicious. and not too pricey! they dont take reservations but there are plenty of bars near by and they will text you when your table is ready!

Party of 4: My review of our order. Guacamole Casero – Very fresh and creamy, served with 4 flame grilled tostadas. Additional tostadas were requested. Rajitas Poblanos, was good. Prime Tenderloin Chile Colorado and the Steakhouse Burgers were very very good. Wagyu Vacio Tacos, (wagyu beef in tortilla shell with no additional toppings) were good, but a little disappointing.

Excellent steakhouse , definitely worth the wait try the vacion with chimichurri sauce their margaritas and and sangria are very refreshing as well .

We are visiting Seattle's Ballard area and were very excited to hear about this Mexican steak house. But when we went for lunch, we were completely underwhelmed. The steak on our steak salad was overcooked and charred to a crunch on the outside. Worse still, the main courses, a grilled chicken dish and the ribeye tacos, were both overcooked as well. The chicken was that proverbial rubber chicken texture. But worst of all was the lack of flavoring added to either of the dishes. One would think in a Mexican restaurant they would have added a few spices! On the plus side, our waiter was super nice, so the problem was not the service but the food. I really, really wanted to like this place, but won't be going back. Oh, and I forgot to mention, this place is very expensive. Our subpar lunch cost about $80.

Without reading more than 2,000 reviews, I will assume that most, if not all of them mention the food. Therefore, permit me to tell you about our waiter, Sam, who was first class. a) when I asked about two of the ribeye steaks, his recommendation was extremely professional and I followed it b) when my son couldn't decide between one of two desserts, we trusted him and the selection was excellent. c) throughout the meal he was extremely attentive in a very professional way. As we were leaving, the owner told me that Sam has been working there for three years, and he recently was promoted. Sam then told us that Sunday was only his third night as a waiter. If you want to combine great service with great food - ask for Sam.

Best steak I have ever had. Had the American vagyu and it did not disappoint. Tender and full of flavor. Had potatoes on the side which were great but were shadowed by the steak. Service excellent and our waiter really knew his stuff, recommending the correct wines etc. All in all worth the visit although not cheap.

We've been here a few times and usually get the steak on a hot stone. Sometimes the stone is not hot enough. Today, the heat lasted long enough. The 14oz steak was soft and tender.

This place has been one of our favorite restaurant to go to when we are craving a good steak or an awfully good spin on you're good ol' baked potato! Although small it packs in superior flavor. Don't expect to be seated right away on a busy night and don't expect to make a reservation if you plan on heading there on any given night. But I will tell you that it is worth the wait. The aroma alone will leave you craving all of the deliciousness it has to offer. The salsa bar in the back also has some good flavors to add to your meats or tacos but they are not necessarily as the steak is so delicious on it's own. Now, you're probably reading this thinking "This sounds great so what's the but about or where's the problem?" And yes the food here is great I will give it that but lately when my group of friends and i have gone in we've had some issues with the hostess not jotting down our information correctly causing this to lead into issues with getting our group seated. When expressing this issue to management via email they tried to turn it around and blame customers for being rude to their staff which I believe is inappropriate. As a restaurant owner you don't want to blame your customer for the bad service they recieve but take the opportunity to address issues with staff and strive to do better. This is the only flaw I have noticed but other than that enjoy the food it is hands down some of the best meals you will have and I wish that you have a better service experience that we did. Even our server was a bit snobby the night we had issues with the hostess who took down the wrong number for the waitlist and cancelled our table.

First, if you have an aversion to smoke, skip this place because the steaks and chicken all pretty much come on hot stones that continue to sizzle and smoke away at your table. Our party chose three items from the menu and decided that unless you're getting the El Zabuton Wagyu you may be disappointed. That cut is delicious! Comes with a few tablespoons of room temperature beans and even less salsa. The Vacio Wagyu cut was a huge disappointment because it was chewy. The Pollo Asada is a giant plate of chicken and not much else. The warm tortillas are fine but without lots of "fixings" to help the diner create a masterpiece, they are just too bland. The service was s-l-o-w. We ordered electric lemonades, which were tasty but I'm pretty sure the "electric" part (vodka) was left out. We can check this off our list and look for something else next time. Meh...

I read the great reviews about Asadero online, and the photos really stuck in my head... and soon later (last Saturday) I had the chance to try it out. We (3 people) ordered guacamole, the carne asada (1 very flavorful pound of carne), and the rice. We loved everything. The price is honest (considering this is Seattle), and the food well served and really delicious! We also drank beers, and ordered a cadilac margarita that was espectacular!! And we were very impressed by the service! Diana (?), her sister, and a man server who served us at the bar were both very friendly, and attentive! I have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant since I lost my desire for la carta de oaxaca (overly expensive, and unfriendly), and both my friends and I were happily impressed with Asadero - our new favorite! BRAVO!!!!

The Seattle location has a nicer & bigger steak menu , better wine and better drink selection. However THE KENT LOCATION has Better Food and better service as well.as genuine and attentive servers. Out of 5 steaks in ballad one was overcooked and the follow up steak was less tender and had a chewiness to it. We were very surprised by the service missteps and carelessness: not get water refilled when asked, not get the extra side of beans we ordered, not get the extra tortillas we ordered, and tgey were not very appologetic for the over cooked steak . When the bill arrived they charged us for the replacement steak. She then made an akward excuse for the extra charged steak. Wtf.? There was No table wipe down between apps, entrees & dessert. It was odd. We have Always felt like the service at the Kent location is shockingl impeccable. Ballard was sloppy at best. Between cities I prefer Ballard and all the other pre & post dinner options. If i want Asadero I will only eat at the Kent location. (I can't...I "kent" believe i just said that)

Tried this restaurant with a friend after hearing and reading rave reviews. Our experience was very disappointing. Excellent service but the menu items we chose, mesquite smoked tostadas, were frankly, awful. The meat and chicken were dry and tasteless, the tostadas were hard and stiff, almost inedible. No amount of condiments could rescue these pricey "Sinoloa" classics. Asadero has nothing on Taco Bell. The drinks, Asadero's house recipe version of sangria were ok, but a long way from true Spanish sangria and not nearly as good. The drinks also came with a generous amount of ice which also dilutes the contents and increases profit. Overall, this visit was a disappointment and will not be tried again. .

We come here very often we were extremely disappointed today . We came in at around 4 pm , there were three of us. As soon as we came in we noticed that 3 tables were available and taught we would be seated right away . We couldn't be more wrong we were told we had to wait for a small table . Even though there was no one waiting and THREE tables available. After waiting more than 20 minutes, I asked to speak to a manager. The lady came out and told us that even though those tables were empty she couldn't seat us there , because a bigger party might come on late sunday afternoon. Not a single person showed up in the time we were there . She was unapologetic and didn't make any effort to provide good customer service . Needless to say we won't be back , since they don't seem to appreciate our business and rather wait to see if a bigger party shows up .

My daughter in law invited us to this restaurant to celebrate my son’s birthday. He had come to this place with work colleagues a week earlier and ate some of the best steaks. He was adamant we try as well. The restaurant is usually full, even in the middle of the week so reservation is recommended. This is not your typical Steakhouse but rather a nice, simple restaurant. It can gets quite loud with many people around. The menu is well priced with several Wagyu steack options. When the waitress came to give us menu, she highly recommended us a tomahawk wagyu steak which she showed in its packaging and told us there was several weight available and would provide price if we pick a specific one. At the time of order, we decided to get one tomahawk to share between us but forgot to ask for the price although she told us she would provide it. This ended up being one of the best steak I ate, with an amazing sear, juicy meat and flavor of the spices you could taste in the meat itself. What we were not prepared to was the price of the tomahawk (300$) which ended up being more than three times the prices of their most expensive steak on the menu. This ended up being the most expensive steak we ever paid for. Since we were invited, we only found out about price when we drove back because my son and his wife were a bit in shock and we tried to understand why. If I had known while there, I would have said something at the restaurant. Ultimately, I feel the approach from the waitress was a bit deceptive and she should have provided a price or price range when she recommended it as she told us she would do. It is always difficult when you are invited to ask or say something. The steack was prepared very well but it had a lot of fat and the ratio price, quality was not there. I would recommend to stick to the menu options unless you are ready to pay a hefty amount.

I was looking for a new restaurant in Ballard, and was parked only a block away. It was Sat nite and busy, but got a seat at the bar ,which was a treat watching my server mix drinks. They serve different beef cuts , tortillas, with a salsa station at hand. I had guacamole to start, was great. A great meal!

We thought we were lucky to get into into this restaurant without much wait. Later didn't feel that way. Review is mixed and here is why: I ordered the New York strip tacos. Would have been good except two of the four were pure gristle and I couldn't eat the meat. Obviously they don't trim the steak at all. The two tacos that were edible were good. Came with a small side of beans. Ordered a side of guacamole which was good, but instead of giving you chips they give you a couple of whole crisp tortillas. Not enough for half the guac. I asked for more, and he kid of gave me a look with an attitude. Then there was a $2.99 charge for the extra two tortillas on my bill. The server did not have a good attitude at any time except for when he brought the check (Tip time?). We felt like we were putting him out. My husband's $3.00 coke was watered down and when he nicely asked for it to be replaced he again acted put out. Our grandson ordered the Wagu Beef Steak or $59. It was thin and full of fat and he had to cook it himself at the table. Not good enough to warrant $59 for a few bits of meat. I bet it wasn't 2 oz. of meat. The bill came to $186.90, without tip, for 2 margaritas, 3 soft drinks,3 taco dinners with beans, the above mention steak and 2 small orders of guacamole. And, oh yes, $2.99 for the 2 extra crisp tortillas. Also super noisy. Would not go back.

We really liked the food, we had 'lengua en salsa verde ' , carne asada, carne en su jugo and Bacío steak, all with differents types of salsas and the waiter Cody was so helpful and gentle. We will be back when we visit Seattle again.

I was visiting family in Seattle. Was looking for a place to have a Sunday dinner with the family and the restaurant was highly recommended. They dont take reservations, so we decided to have an early dinner. We showed up at 1730 and our party was seated right away. Cons: No complimentary chips and salsa. Must serve/get your own salsa at the Salsa/Condiment bar. Mother wanted the Catch of the Day but they dont have any. No Fish Plate in the menu. She settled for the Fish Tacos which she didnt like. Carne Asada was not good. It was lacking flavor and it was under seasoned. My nephew ordered Vampiros with Steak. He said that the steak was dry and tough. Bone Marrow was just pieces of bones with no narrows at all. Pro: Bro in law loved the Mishima Reserve Wagyu Steak. It was juicy and tender. Overall Experience: Over hype and over rated restaurant. Food was lacking flavor, it was below expectations, kinda boring. Service was pretentious and all over the place. With so many amazing places to eat in the city why bother coming back. First impression matters and my first will time here and it will be my last.

Came here for a date night. Atmosphere was lovely, romantic, low light, high end. Food was delicious - steak, chimichurri sauce. Service was great too. Highly recommend, would go again.

Wednesday night at 5:30. Restaurant had mostly empty tables. There were to be five of us arriving in two groups. They do not accept reservations so three of us arrived together to have drinks and apps while waiting for the other two who were coming from UW. When I asked for a table of five the host asked us how long until our other guests were to arrive. In rush hour traffic it could have been 10 minutes or an hour. He just kept asking how long how long. The ridiculousness of his question in an empty restaurant was laughable which we politely explained to him as we left to go around the corner to the competition.

They don't take reservations so on a weekend evening we waited over an hour for a table. So well worth the wait! The servers were super nice and friendly and helped with the menu. Great cocktails and the roasted bone marrow appetizer was just amazing. Asadero says that they serve the best prime beef grilled using mesquite wood and the steaks were best we've had. I ordered the Mishima Reserve Wagyu and asked for it medium rare. But the server told me that since it was served on a very hot sizzling stone she would bring it rare and I could cook it on the stone to my desired "doneness." It was fun watching it cook and delicious. The prime El Ribeye we shared was also great and there is a help-yourself salsa bar. Prices are worth it for the portions and quality.

We celebrated our daughter's birthday at Asadero Ballard. Although the place was busy, we managed to get a table with only a short wait. The specialty of the place is clearly steak, but served in different styles from your normal steakhouse. We enjoyed sharing the El Zabutan Wagyu, La Carne Asada Angus, and El Ribeye Wagyu, along with the full complement of condiments. The steaks were great, but we were a little disappointed to be charged for a request of additional torillas and $2.99 for a small dish of tasteless cheese. Draft beer was average quality.

This is by far the best Mexican food in the state , it is an asadero so that means it's a grill there will be a lot of meats and do not expect the regular Tex-Mex items , it's very unique I love the doraditos and vacío steak .

Asadero is a blown out Steakhouse with a Mexican Flare if you expect Tex-Mex prices for the highest quality steaks well you will be upset , its a steakhouse and a good one i visited on a Saturday night and it was packed ! we oredered the filet flight it was honestly the best i had ever had in my life , thumbs up for keeping such a good prices in Seattle .

Great selection of steaks at a great price! It's combination of Mexican and Japanese... and the steaks are served on a hot (sizzling) plate.. so good!

Truly a mouthwatering experience! Worth every penny!!! Reservations are highly recommended. This is the type of food that melts in your mouth and you dream about months later 😋

Exceptional dining adventure with superb service. One detraction was how noisy it can get when crowded on a Saturday night. Reservations essential. Would I go again...absolutely!

FOOD, VIBE & SERVICE was amazing and delicious!!! Came on a Tuesday 9/3 at 6pm w/no reservations for a party of 3 and got seated within minutes (woo hoo!) We don't eat red meat and enjoyed the: -Guacamole Casero (guacamole w/mini tostada chips) -Molletes (sliced bread w/beans & asadero cheese) -Pescado Tacos (grilled rockfish tacos) -Pollo Asado (huge marinated thin chicken w/beans & piping hot tortillas; this can be shared w/2 people!) Service was 5 stars!!!!

Food is excellent. We had the wagyu hotplate, meat cooked medium rare. Very juicy and tender, full of flavor. Service was very good. Only problem is it tends to get too crowded during the normal lunch and dinner hours and they don't take reservation. Best to go during off peak hours for lesser wait time.

This restaurant made my Seattle top five list. The sauces, drinks, atmosphere, and of course their steaks, everything comes together for a great dining experience. I will go back every chance I have.

Son suggested hubby and I try Asadero Ballard, and of course, he came along as well. They open at 4:00 pm, and son suggested we get there at 5:00 pm. WRONG! Already an hour wait! So we went to a nearby bar, and waited for the call. Amazing smells when you walk in.To a Texas gal, this was a slice of heaven - literally. Hubby ordered the Tacos Zabuton , that come sizzling on a very hot plate. A side of pinto beans, and then you can help yourself at the salsa bar. Son and I ordered the El Zabuton Wagyu, tender beef that comes sizzling on a metal plate - be careful...it IS hot Also a side of pintos and handmade tortillas. The Margarita Autentica was good, but not outstanding. I preferred the Horchata Alegre , not sure what was in it but it was good! We also had an appetizer that had beans and cheese on bread - it was okay but I would pass on it next time. Our server was Diana, and she was good.

We made reservations which is highly recommended. The place is not very big. The service was really good and whatever question we had about the menu or steak preferences our waiter was able to give a recommendation. The portions are pretty big for the price you pay which you usually pay more for the quality of steak you can choose. We ordered a baked potato and it was enough for two people. Nice atmosphere and a great location.

In our party of 6, we ordered a few different steaks, some steak tacos (mind you, it was ribeye and wagyu), several small plates and we ate family style. Terrific way to try as much as possible. Wonderful way to eat steak so many different ways. The dining area was bustling, smoky with a modern rustic decor - felt good being there. We recommend a visit, we definitely would come back in our next trip to Seattle. Tip: go early and be prepared to wait in line.

I have been here a few times and I am a big fan! All the beef is amazing! All the apps are incredible! The marrow and the potato app are so killer! All the wagu is great, the ribeye was awesome and they have an A5 on the menu... 🙏🏼👌🏼

We were invited to try this while visiting Seattle. We started with the guacamole. Then we had the Wagyu tacos. Four come in the entree and I was not sure that would be enough, but it was more filling than I thought. Toss on all of the condiments that you would like from the salsa bar. It was mouth watering. Tried the bone marrow which was also very tasty. For dessert we had the rice pudding and flan which top off a great overall experience. Definitely come and try this place.

This is the best carne asada in the Seattle Area. We are regular customers and every single thing we’ve tried is good. This is the only place where you can get flour handmade tortillas which are typical side dish on the norther part of Mexico. Plus the staff is friendly and accommodating.

This place is just plain yummy. We arrived about 20-25 minutes after they opened and got one of the last tables. Turnover is about 60-90 minutes so get there early or you may wait. Only the best ingredients are used and all is delicious. We started with some very unique and tasty drinks and guac with homemade tortillas. They have a salsa bar where you can sample various kinds and bring back to your table. Service is friendly and fast and everything we tried was beyond good. Will surely go here again!

The focus here is grilled (asadero) meat with fresh hand made corn tortillas. The salsa bar is a welcome feature because the salsas range from moderate heat for the faint of heart and then very spicy for those of us who want algo que pica la lengua. The totopos are real, which is to say they do not come out of bag sold at Costco with too much salt. Cooking style is Northern Mexico so there is no mole or panuchos or salbutes. I'm a tough customer because I've lived in Oaxaca and prefer southern mexican food but Asadero Sinaloa tantalized my tastebuds so I'll be going back.

Supercool place, very friendly personnel.. The food was highest quality, very well made and super tasty. However, since the meat was served on metal plates it was insanely hot and the temperature kept for the whole dinner witch med it hard to eat when you burnt your moth.

Tooo much expensive for the standard flavor. Our waiter have not actitud of service. We ask for change a side and thats not permitted. The tip (15%) its obligatory and charged without ask. We'll never come back.

Five of us dined on a Monday night, and it was fairly busy. We did make reservations so no wait time. For two of us, it was our first visit, and we liked it well enough. Coming from SC, the prices for everything take some getting used to. Before the tip, our bill was $350, and it included only 3 cocktails. The service by Andrea was excellent..The only minor issue is that when you leave, your clothes and person will smell like the restaurant/food.

We were lucky last weekend when we walked in for lunch and were seated immediately. My husband and I shared guacamole to start and then I had carne asada and he ordered a huge piece of wagyu beef. Both were excellent - deliciously prepared and large portions. In fact, the carne asada portion was so large that I took it home and made two more meals out of it for a total of three! My husband also had a dessert that was like a rice pudding (I have forgotten the name) - I tasted it and it was also delicious. There isn't much on the plate besides the meat, which was fine with me. The entrees came with tortillas and beans, and there is a salsa/condiment bar where you can help yourself to various items to accompany the meat. Frankly, I don't think you need anything else, but they were nice to try. This was also a perfect choice for anyone who is low-carb/keto, etc. I've walked by this location at other times and seen long lines. As I mentioned, we got right in, but I suspect that is not the rule. Plan accordingly!

This place was highly recommended to us, and it was not oversold. The food was extraordinary. We ordered five different small plates, and were wowed by every one (and brought home a lot of leftovers). The service was also superb. We are an older couple and sometimes a place that caters to a young, hip crowd will ignore or be less than welcoming to older folks. Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive. My partner can't eat spicy food, and the server helped us figure out what and how to order. Next time we visit Seattle, we will definitely go back!

if you are looking for a fancy old fashioned steakhouse look somewhere else , this a Mexican themed Steakhouse that serves the best steaks in the city i tried their ultra grade filet mignon it was orgasmic , to be honest the best steak i had ever had and i had been in the best steakhouses in the nation , the restaurant itself is small and quaint and it gets brutally busy so getting a table is the downside but totally worth it try their mezcalitas are delishh .

I love this place , the quality of steaks for the price offered its great loved the smokey flavor and salsas are terrific , i tried the zabuton wagyu and the vacio which easily are one of the best cuts of meat i had ever tasted .

My wife found this place, enjoyed it so much, that she insisted that we go there. What a pleasant surprise ! Although very steak/pork heavy, the food is very simple but yet extremely delicious as the accompaniments are also very fresh and flavorful. Service is a bit slow especially at peak times (no reservations) but it is definitely worth the wait. Has taken over from Oaxaca dela carta as my favorite Mexican place in Seattle.

I’ve eaten in the top restaurants in Mexico and this is as if I were back there, but even better. The meat has authentic flavor, grilled to perfection. The guacamole? Best ever. Homemade tostados —amazing. Tortilla soup, best ever. Packed, so make sure you make a reservation first. Alternatively, eat at the bar and don’t forget to try their margaritas. I had one with chilis and açaí berry. Cleared up the sinuses for sure.

I came to Seattle to celebrate my nephew’s graduation, and my sister picked this restaurant for our family dinner. Unfortunately, it didn’t start on a great note. When we arrived, my nephew was clearly upset. Turns out, the restaurant refused to store his ice cream cake. My sister had informed them during the reservation that she would be bringing a cake and was told about the cake-cutting fee, but no one mentioned they wouldn’t be able to store it. That would have been an important heads-up. I asked the manager directly, and while she confirmed they couldn’t store the cake, what really stood out was her lack of flexibility or willingness to help. It’s a special occasion, and a little hospitality would’ve gone a long way. As for the rest: • Ambiance: Just okay. • Food: The porterhouse steak was good, not great. • Drinks: Watered down. I live in New York, so maybe my bar is higher—but still, they missed the mark. Would I go back? Probably not. Celebrations deserve thoughtful service, and this place just didn’t deliver.

The first thing you notice when you walk in, is the smell! It's wonderful. We ate lunch there and will definitely be back. As we walked in we could see the dishes others had ordered and so many looked so good! We shared some tacos and a yummy appetizer of roaster peppers and corn. The tortillas were fresh but the meat is what's so amazing. Great service! A great lunch spot and I'm sure we'll be back for dinner.

Arroz de la abuela good, doraditos with chicken. Not the place to take friends who are vegetarian- little available for them. They have one piece of artwork on the main wall cut baby calves looking down on their future fate being on the plate-sad.
Could do better
It was very popular and packed out for a Monday evening. The cut I ordered for price I paid, was distinctly average. Expensive but staff don't trust the customer to give wifi code & put it in yr phone themselves. Plenty of competition in Ballard and next time would choose elsewhere.
