Very limited wine list

By SunshineGA |

Crabcakes were acceptable for a quick, late night meal. Service was quick and prompt, although no dessert menu was offered.

Dinner

We absolutely loved our waiter Rene Ochoa. Would come back just because of him! Best service we have ever experienced! Restaurant on site at the Hilton.

Trip to Galveston

By LDHtraveler |

While in San Antonio we stayed at the Hilton San Antonio Airport Hotel. While there we went down to the lounge (Asado Lounge) for a dink and dinner. I ordered an Old Fashion and requested Rye Whiskey, the head bar tender said all the rye thet had was $21.00 per shot, I passed on the Rye. A short time later there was some discussion between the staff, I ordered another drink and a different bar tender said the Rye was only $10.00, then the original bar tender said no it was $12.00 a shot. I requested what ever I had had prior. We ordered dinner and ate beef short ribs and the wife had a pasta dish. The food was good, a little over priced but good. This is a new restaurant in the Hilton and once they workout the bugs they should be fine.. we recomend.

A New Place with Possibilities

By bobemac |

Some restaurants in national chain hotels are questionable because they have a captive customer base. We were intrigued by this new place that was close by. We were greeted by Erick in an almost empty room just after noon on a Sunday. Ricardo was our server and he was very helpful. The crab and artichoke fondue had lots of crabmeat but no artichokes. It tasted better with the dark olive/rosemary bread than with the standard dried crostinis that came with it. The grilled tilapia came with a lemon butter sauce and was tasty. The sides were potatoes au gratin and roasted squash. The squash was tasty. The petit filet was petite but it was cooked medium as requested. The potatoes and asparagus were passable. The steak was supposed to come with Bernaise sauce but they tried to slip in some chimichurri sauce instead. I asked for Bernaise sauce but what they delivered was not close. A training opportunity. This used to be called Tex's sports bar and has been redone into a bright contemporary decor. It's a nice place for a leisurely meal as soon as they get all the kinks worked out. They also serve a breakfast buffet every morning between six and ten thirty. We will give this place another visit going forward, it has possibilities.

Do you like gnats in your drink?

By gudtexan |

Gnats were flying everywhere in the bar/restaurant. I only ordered a desert; a brownie. Took over 20 minutes to get it, and it was so tough I had to use the plastic knife I was given to cut it.

Lovely breakfast

By Daniel M |

Very nice atmosphere with standard Hilton breakfast fair. I would have liked a little more regional favorites at the buffet (no grits), but overall a nice way to start the day. Amaliah was a wonderfully attentive waitress.

Great food

By Neo R |

The red snapper was awesome and the waiter Rene Ochoa did a great job of making sure I was well taken care of.

Special Evening

By Curtis S |

Ate here for Valentine's Day, the special for the day was amazing. I went with the scallops, beautiful presentation. The three course meal had plenty of food and every thing was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was very inviting and just what you would expect from Asado.

Marriott Restaurant but reasonable prices

By John L |

I had the Red Snapper this week and everything was perfect. You can also order the food at the bar, in the bar area, in the restaurant area, and now even in the M Lounge, for Gold and Platinum members. Lots of atmosphere choices. Service in any of those areas is always excellent. Erika and Cali in the bar are favorites, Kim in the restaurant, and Abdel in the M Lounge. Host service is also very friendly. Erika at the bar can do custom drinks and is extraordinary as a mixologist. I get awesome vodka martinis. Since renovation was complete, the style is now contemporary and they went to a very open style that I really like.

Great service!

By Lauren F |

Great food and great service. I had Richard, who was extremely accommodating to me and my rambunctious toddler. He was very helpful and even picked up toys that my son kept throwing on the floor. Would definitely recommend!

Great Atmosphere

By Usman M |

The lounge has been remodeled and is very attractive. The staff is outstanding and the food is excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome new menus tasting

By Leila L |

I was invited to taste Asado's new bar menu tasting event this Wednesday. The new BBQ sliders, nachos and loaded fries are amazing and Purple Rain cocktail is yummy! And you can beat its price during the Happy Hour!! Will definitely recommend Asado to my friends and family.

This is a comfortable setting with great people. Today Edward helped with a cheerful attitude and genuine warmth. This place has great food and friendly service.

Great food and service

By Jennifer E |

Great restaurant for a visit with friends while staying in San Antonio! This was my second time grabbing breakfast while staying at the Hilton. Great food and excellent service. I've had Richard as my waiter both times and he goes above and beyond to provide a pleasant experience. Worth a visit for sure!

ordinary venue

By jd85767 |

The food is common for a motel, the staff is not what I'd expect from Hilton. You have to ask and wait for everything: paper napkins, coffee, cups to go, etc.

Nice end to long day on the road

By marymm2013 |

We were pleasantly surprised with this onsite restaurant and let urge at San Antonio Hilton Airport. We were tired and looking for light meal and glass of wine. We had happy hour appetizer of flatbread Margherita and we were very pleased with the taste. The decor is warm and inviting. We were happy to have a a nice bite without facing more traffic.

You Get What you Pay For

By Marilyn K |

Excellent service, food, and atmosphere! Although I really wasn't as hungry this time I wish I had been, I did have the delishious and elegantly presented Southwest Steak Salad. My husband enjoyed the Caprese Salad before his Red Snapper. The vegetables were done perfectly. Peter was our server and was very attentive.

A pleasant surprise

By elliottq |

We were staying at the Hilton San Antonio in which this restaurant is located and had been traveling for two weeks, so decided to take it easy and "eat in." The decor was ok, but in general this Hilton was a bit tired so this wasn't a surprise. We wondered what we would find, especially since the most recent TripAdvisor review was almost 18-months old. It was Valentine’s day and the desk said no reservation was necessary; the restaurant was mostly empty. This was fortunate because due to the hard interior and lack of carpeting and tall ceiling it would have undoubtedly been loud and reverberant. We had already snacked at the Hilton Exec lounge so we weren't terribly hungry. We ordered a glass of Canyon Red Cabernet and the grilled salmon. The wine was pleasant and the salmon perfectly prepared accompanied by excellent grilled asparagus and tasty au gratin potatoes. The servers were most pleasant, though at first the service was a bit slow. The dinner was a lovely surprise and just what we had in mind.

Great salads!

By Foodie Lady |

When we stayed at the Hilton San Antonio Northstar hotel, we ate in their Asado restaurant for breakfast twice and once for lunch. We also enjoyed appetizers and drinks in the Asado lounge twice during our stay. The eggs benedict was very good and is served with a side of potatoes (which I wish had been hash browns instead). For lunch we enjoyed their Border steak salad and the southwest steak salad. Both salads were very good and the steak was cooked to order. The cilantro dressing on the southwest salad was a little mild or bland for my taste but still quite good. The appetizers that we enjoyed the most were the hot wings (8), and the pork egg rolls (6). We also ordered the flatbread margarita, which was on a thin crust but had very little taste. The service in both the restaurant and the lounge was excellent each time.

Nice breakfast at the Hilton San Antonio Airport Hotel...

By Debbie O |

Small business meeting last week over breakfast in the Asado Seafood & Grill restaurant at the Hilton San Antonio Airport Hotel. They just renovated the entire restaurant and bar and they both look great. Warm colors and modern furnishings are very welcoming and pull you into the rooms. The Chef stopped by our table to say hello and check on our meals, the eggs benedict with hash browns was my plate of choice and I'd definitely order it again. The service was great, Amaliah, our server gave us time to talk and knew just when we needed her. It definitely helped our meeting along and Matt's hospitality was what you'd expect in TX, top notch.

Excellent Experience

By She J |

Ask for Edward if you visit the Grill for dinner or drinks, Food is amazing! Great selection on the menu.

Wonderful dining experience! Great seafood choices.

By Johnnie D |

I have eaten here several times and love the food. Chef Collins has many excellent dishes to choose from. he is also refining his baking experience and has started a "Desserts after Dark" program. Expect 4-5 amazing new desserts each month. Check out the Rebecca Creek Bourbon Pecan Tart on the February menu. This is a flaky crust filled with Texas candied pecans topped with vanilla ice cream and a pecan praline all drizzled with house made caramel. I couldn't put my fork down until it was gone! Asado Seafood & Grill doesn't disappoint!

Best Staff

By Diane P |

Food is Great and the Staff are the Best. my grandson and I went to Asado after check in. Amaliah greeted us and took real good care of us. The food was so good, u really didn't need salt or pepper at the table. It was season perfect. The next morning we went to a buffet breakfast. We were greeted and the staff were kind and made u feel like royalty.

HH

By scott v |

So glad bar/restaurant was open. Sat at bar. Bartender highly suggested not to get wings or Nachos. So...took her word. Instead ordered Loaded fries. Had a draft Crawford Bock. Pretty tasty. So. Decided on a hamburger. Supposed to be pretty good.

Terrible Food, Good Service

By Kristina G |

I ate here while on a work trip. I have Celiac Disease, and although I was told earlier there were GF options, when I got there, I was told I could have two of the things on the menu only, and since I’m also lactose intolerant, that narrowed it down to one. That was the vegetable grill. When they brought it to me, it was literally ONE baby potato and a few undercooked, bland vegetables on a plate. They didn’t even give me the rice that was supposed to go with the dish. I paid $18. There are plenty of wonderful places to eat within a mile of this hotel. Don’t waste your time or money at this one. I gave the review two stars because our waiter was outstanding and full of energy. Absolutely loved him!

Excellent

By Scott B |

Great atmosphere with high quality dining options. The Shrimp Martini is outstanding. They have some good wine options and the tapas menu is good for casual dining.

Good food, slower Texas-style service

By Katie H |

The hotel (Hilton San Antonio) recently remodeled this restaurant and are trying to get people in there, so when I asked for recommendations for dining options, in addition to telling me about local places and providing a handy map, the desk clerk also gave me a voucher for two dinners and two drinks there at Asado. I used the voucher for dinner with my coworkers and we had a very nice meal. There was only one waitress for the whole place (admittedly there weren’t many people there, anyways), which made things take a little longer, but I think that's a Texas thing in general (e.g. slower restaurant service). The food was really good, though. My steak was well-cooked and I believe my coworkers were happy with their dishes (salmon, walleye, and an entree salad). The potato gratin side was very good, too. A little pricey, but not as expensive as you would expect. Also, the continental breakfast in the morning was impressive. There's a huge selection of items that cover all types of breakfasts (fruit, deli meats, pastries, grits, etc.). The raspberries and blackberries in particular in the fruit section were fantastic and I really appreciated the lovely (made on site?) croissants and other pastries. The only negative I see is that the "hot" items (eggs, bacon, potatoes) were really only warm, although I know that that's typical of buffet-style service.

Very Good Hotel Restaurant

By marycathyjoneslmp |

The food is very good & the service is great. We were going to eat downstairs. We had taken our grandson ( <3 ) swimming at the hotel & had a great time. However, he was tired so after we ordered, he started yawning & getting tired &cranky. This was not going to work. I asked the server if we could have our food delivered to our room. The staff kindly obliged. We put on a movie & let the little one rest in comfort. We & our grown kids were able to enjoy a delicious meal without stress. Everyone was happy & we had a fun family evening. Again, the food was excellent and the staff was so kind to oblige our issue.

Comfortably tex-mex

By g_somma |

A warm place where you can be struggled by fine and nice fusion texmex based cuisine. Strongly recommended!

NOT a seafood restaurant anymore!!👎

By Foodie Lady |

This place no longer serves seafood! It is only open for breakfast 6:00-11:00. Then only bar menu in bar after 5:00. Don’t waste your time here!

A pretty good place!

By cgartnerSATX |

Asado Seafood & Grill is a newly remodeled, repositioning of the San Antonio Airport Hilton's on-site restaurant. Located just off the lobby, it is where the hotel used to have its BBQ eatery. My wife and I had dinner there this past Sunday evening as we had seen an ad for Asado and wanted to check it out. I'm very glad we did and will return. We started with a Caesar salad which was delicious then ordered a ribeye for her and red snapper for me. The entrees were terrific! The restaurant is a little pricy for San Antonio but we are spoiled down here as you can eat very well on a modest budget in South Texas. We ended up having a very relaxing evening and greatly enjoyed our first trip to Asado. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion's get away or, if you are staying at the hotel, a very convenient, good place to grab a meal. Restaurant management and waiters went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and delivered very attentive service.

Great breakfast buffet.

By SusanPM3283HK |

Service and the food were fresh and very good. Enjoyed our morning meals. The décor is very pleasant with both booths and tables. Coffee is wonderful and fresh food is constantly being replenished at the buffet. Bacon was superb.

Rockfish marniere!!!

By victor c |

Had lunch here yesterday and had the rockfish. It was one of the best seafood dishes I have ever had!Tracie our server was very informative and delightful!!... Extraordinary service with great food calls for a quick return to this hidden gem inside the Hilton hotel near the airport. I Wish I was there now!!

Dinner & Drinks at the Bar

By LoLj |

Bar service is slightly above expected - drinks are well-made and good beer selection. The food tastes mostly fresh; and the prices are reasonable

Great restaurant in the San Antonio airport Hilton; Duck tacos superb

By Chinapjs |

Continuing a trend I have noticed over the past two years, Hilton is pulling out all stops to make sure it's restaurants are first rate. Adado is a case in point. Dinner last night was wonderful. Started with wild mushroom raviollis. As good as you could find in an upscale modern Italian restaurant anywhere. For my main course I switched cuisines and had the duck tacos. Three perfect tacos with a slice of avocado on top. Tried them with and without the house made salsa. Lean slightly toward with but either way they were really, really good. The soft tacos were also probabably house made. Hint Matt the chef that night makes a really great version of the house salsa. The tacos came with a very favorable piece of potatoes au gratin and perfectly grilled broccolini. Great pairing. The wine list is very good and reasonably priced. Service excellent and even though the hotel was sold out the dining room noise level was very low. Perfect. Tried breakfast at restaurant this morning and it was very good and service impeccable.

Food Poisoning

By Helene K |

I went here for breakfast since it was complimentary with my room and got food poisoning. Never again.

Excellent Service and Food!

By davidmarcela |

We ate there when we stayed in February. Great food and service. The renovations are awesome! All of our wedding guest who stayed at the hotel with us also had the same opinion.

Strong (Expensive) Drinks!! Mediocre food.

By Jusmaxxin |

The food is okay... The drinks are strong, but it'll cost ya! The only reason I ate there is because I was too lazy to leave the hotel on a rainy night. Do yourself a favor, get in your car and drive to any one of the dozens of restaurants nearby.

Yum!

By Kathleen |

I had a burger-which was great-but my friend had the Bourbon BBQ Sandwich and it was amazing! I had a small bite and fell in love! Service was amazing too!

Great hotel bar.

By scott v |

Not too much for eating close by, was getting late so just came in here. Thankfully they were open and you could sit inside. Pretty good draft beer selection. Bartender knew her beers which is always a plus. She recommended the Crawford Bock, and it was very tasty. Had a pretty good menu selection, she recommended wings. Definitely some of the best hotel wings I've had. Well worth stopping in .

Quick Stop in San Antonio

By Sarah B |

My stay in San Antonio was too short, as it was my layover for my international flight. In fact, I spent most of my time in the hotel--which ended up being a good thing since I consider myself a bit of a foodie. After checking in, I stopped in Asado to help alleviate my jet lag. I ordered dinner and two glasses of wine because hey, why not. Not only was it delicious, but the manager, Kim, also recommended a few sights I could squeeze in before my flight in the next day. I came back to Asado for lunch before my flight and Kim recommended the grilled salmon, which was spectacular. Traveling alone for work can be draining and alienating, but it makes such a difference when people take the time to make conversation, ensuring that you are enjoying your stay. I really appreciate that Kim went the extra mile for me, not only recommending great dishes but also taking the time to help me explore San Antonio with the few hours I had before my flight. She is a fabulous addition to San Antonio Hilton Airport and Asado!

Overpriced, slow service

By Stephanie S |

I rated this with my hotel stay, very overpriced, $20 for breakfast buffet. Offerings are nothing special that you can't get complimentary from another hotel.

Great food, fresh coffee excellent staff!

By richardwadefl |

Me and the Wife hit the breakfast buffet before flying out for her 42nd birthday, we were flying to Europe, so we needed a good breakfast to start the day. The food was great, and the portions were literally no holds barred. The nice waitress Amaliah I think, made sure my coffee never was below half a cup. Great service!

Excellent service and the filet mignon was delicious!

By jaysee2011 |

Great restaurant in the Hilton. Service very attentive and food was delicious. Atmosphere is good too, a little too much light, but nonetheless a great dinner.

I suggested that they cook the fries 10 from the sandwich being cooked so that they are hot at the same time

Get the Crab Legs!!!!

By Rhonda E |

We stopped by the bar and one of the other guests had told us about the meal they just had in Asado...So we went the next night and I had the crab legs. They were delicious! and the server had suggested I pair it with the chardonnay and it was great. We even splurged on dessert! It was a great night and great stay.

Great experience

By Zipotesx5 |

We came to this sushi restaurant on our visit to San Antonio. The service and food were fantastic! We will come again when we visit.

Good place for drinks and service

By Relax248176 |

The Asado Lounge is a good place to grab some drinks when staying at the Hilton San Antonio Airport. The staff (Gregory, Quynci and Elijah) provide great service taking care of your needs and ensuring you have a pleasant stay. While the menu is a little limited, the fresh potato chips and quesadilla are great choices for snacks.

A meal to remember...

By Amy G |

Great place for romantic dinner. Restaurant offers free parking. It's popular in the area but you can still expect to be seated right away (we always have a reservations though). Menu offers great variety of seasonal food enhanced by a great selection of seafood dishes. Staff is courteous, quick and very knowledgeable. Dinner for two with crab cakes, cheese quesadilla, red snapper, creme brulee and two special cocktails will be around $100 - reasonable price for an upscale restaurant like this! Five stars!

VERY GOOD HOTEL RESTAURANT

By Daryl H |

This recently opened restaurant in the San Antonio Airport Hilton, is a welcome change from the usual cookie cutter hotel restaurants that you find in airport hotels. Very nice selection of seafood entrees, Burgers, soups, appetizers, and salads on the menu. I had the salmon and it was delicious, along with a nicely prepared wedge salad. Service is friendly and efficient. Very attractive contemporary cocktail lounge adjacent to the dining room. If you are staying at this hotel you will not need to go out for any of your meals, as the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is a very pleasant venue for travelers and tourists alike.

Can't Touch This

By OmniEpicurean |

Thanksgiving seemed to approach with the usual holiday swiftness that comes and goes with the speed of a freight train. We had found ourselves without a restaurant choice just two weeks before and most all of the popular restaurants were no longer taking reservations. We had thought to go to Asado several times so I called and was relieved to find an opening here. The dining room has been redone since it former days as a mainly BBQ serving establishment. The interior is modern and inviting and with the spread we encountered as we moved to our table once inside, even more so. Many of the usual suspects for the brunch buffet with breakfast items of sausage, an omelet station, bacon, eggs benedict (more sauce please) etc., then turkey, prime rib, maple glazed ham for the main attractions. The turkey was juicy and tender, the prime rib (incorrectly sliced in advance) a little cold and rubbery, and the ham, nothing special. The poached shrimp with lemon creme fraiche would have been wonderful, but the shrimp were less than flavorful yet told that they were Texas gulf coast when asked. H-m-m-m? Many other items including salads, fresh fruits and sides to choose from. Not until this point did we find out that the champagne was complimentary. A small oversight by our otherwise attentive waitress. In fact, I think we had 4 different waiters all making sure we had what we needed. They must have been given one hell of a "customer's always right" speech that morning as all the staff was exceedingly polite and attentive. Now for the desserts. The chef spent 5 days preparing all the desserts that filled the multi-level tiers on rows of tables. The quantity and variety were mind blowing. Trying to decide which ones (yes ones plural. selection of just one is impossible) to try was sheer torture. If you have a sweet tooth, this hallway of dessert delights would be tantamount to a a five year old finding a room full of presents on Christmas morning all with his/her name on it. Key lime pie, chocolate and cherry ganache, pumpkin cheese cake, and so many others . . . this has to be the best dessert offering I think I have ever had the privilege of experiencing. It really was that impressive. I almost hate to wax on about this restaurant and its Thanksgiving brunch as I would like to keep the buffet as uncrowded as it was and revel in the secret of such a find a while longer.

Tasty, good portion for the price

By Edgar G |

During my stay at the Hilton, I eat a regular Turkey club sandwich, soup of the day, a burger. And all were very good and good in size, well presented.

Pretty good grub

By Prestoni |

This is in the Hilton. I ate two meals there and rate both above average. My first was the scallops which although only 3 were very good. The potatoes were signature and very good. The soup was not as described ( told it was tomato) but was noodles and vegetables. I had ordered a Ceasar salad but it arrived after I finished my meal which must have been an afterthought. It was good. The second meal was shrimp on a bed of cilantro rice. I also ordered the wedge salad which was good. The creme brulee for dessert was good except cooler than I like. Overall...a decent experience if not stellar.
