On of my favorite coffee houses

By milsie4 |

If you are staying in the Uptown area be sure and stop in this coffee house located across from the Crescent Hotel. We spent both mornings there because not only was the coffee and food terrific but the service was outstanding. Ask for Meredith. She is as beautiful inside as out and has a smile for everyone. She made our morning for us - very sweet. The vanilla scones are delicious so make sure you try one!

Service could be better

Ordered food and coffee at the counter for dining in. Counter staff was great and mentioned that she could make a note to her colleagues to bring it to my table. That didn't happen but it's fine, happens sometimes. However, I waited pretty long for my food and reached out to the server taking care of the area. He very impolitely said "you ordered takeaway you should have picked it up yourself". Then I explained that to him and asked where could I get it. He, very grumpily, found my French toast and brought it to me. Perhaps a pretty bad morning I guess. Honestly, coffee is pretty good. Not expecting to find decent coffee out of Aussie. Service could be better I guess. Here I dined in with my French toast in a takeaway box.

Skip Starbucks and Go Local!

Great spot for specialty coffees with sit down table service or to go. Very polite staff and great selection of coffee and food. I just had a mocha latte, but was not disappointed. Convenient location with a drive thru. Skip Starbucks and go local!

Disappointed

By Dreamer226518 |

I will often go to the location in Frisco and have great experiences. I was excited to share the Ascension experience with my boyfriend at this location. We were staying at the Hotel Crescent so it was a quick walk across the street. We walked in and immediately felt out of place. The two men at the register were not very friendly and when we asked questions about the menu they seemed annoyed. With Starbucks close by you would think they would be willing to showcase the specialty coffees they offer. We ordered 2 cold brews so we could get on with our day and weren't even given straws or thanked for our business. We won;t be back.

Good spot for breakfast and coffee lovers

Ascension at the Crescent is similar to its sister location in the Design District only bigger. Ascension is known for their coffee and this location does not disappoint. If you are a coffee aficionado you should definitely check this place out. Its a great place for breakfast. I have also had lunch here and the lunch menu was yummy as well.

Rude staff, bad coffee, waste of money

By Minh T |

Forewarning: Do not waste your time, tastebuds, or money on this place. The coffee selection here, while expansive, is generally not good. I came here with a large group of people and we got different items from both the regular menu and craft coffee menu, all of which tasted really bad and nothing like coffee. Their milk had curds in it, which we saw while waiting for our drinks, and the regular espresso was weak and watery. The crafted drinks with tumeric were especially bad. Service was terrible, we had to wait 10 minutes before someone took our orders, and the person seemed high on drugs and not informed about the menu when we asked about specific items. We had to also wait 20 minutes to get our coffees and pastries, which is way too long for croissants that just need to be heated up. Parking situation is terrible, there is not many spots available, and some spots are overtaken by the establishment next door.

Coffee and pastrami

It's a breakfast restaurant and there are so many people enjoying breakfast and brunch. I love the pastrami sandwich..usually served for lunch. I also ordered mocha latte. The staff are friendly and checks on you once in awhile.

My partner and I love our coffee, so we were really happy when we had breakfast here. Awesome flat white and super friendly service (Thanks Darcy). We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Experience

Ascension is the go to place in this neighborhood. Great location. Ample seating inside and out. Great vibe, decor! The menu is expansive and sure to meet most needs. Avocado toast, granola bowls and many egg dishes. Yum! The coffee options are significant. The service is fast, friendly and professional. We visited multiple times during our time in Dallas. Great job gang!

Coffee Extraordinaire!

By s3a22dallas |

The Ambiance and the scent of the fabulous Rich coffee well impress any coffee house lover. The servers or knowledgeable, professional and high-end over exceeding any breakfast expectation. If you find yourself in uptown hit Crescent Court Asencia you will not be disappointed. With table coffee service comes a delightful carafe of water for self refeels. Very high end feel yet relaxed and comfortable.

Great Coffee, great location to meet friends.

Good food, cool atmosphere

The space looked like it would be great to meet up and work or chat with friends but rather busy. I had a black coffee and the avocado toast to go and both were good.

Servers: Please don’t play with customers’ dogs and then serve food without washing your hands.

The food and service was excellent. However, it was off-putting to see servers petting and physically engaging with customers’ dogs and then immediately using their device to take orders and deliver food. I’m an animal/dog lover, but as a matter of cleanliness, this should not be allowed.

Good meeting spot any time of day!

We live a block from this restaurant. Easy to walk over for a chai latte and croissant, for brunch on the weekend, a good salad with salmon at lunch, or a glass of wine with dinner. Laid back vibe. You can sit back and chat or have a working lunch in under an hour.

Wonderful treat for breakfast, brunch or quick coffee

Ascension is such a lovely surprise in Dallas. They carry such unique coffees, lattes and even more unique breakfast items! (just order their Ricotta Hotcake early, as it takes a while, but is SO worth it!) LOVED their turmeric latte and cold press coffee. Would definitely be back!

Great spot for Breakfast!

By Bobby R |

I was in Dallas with my husband who was on business. While he was occupied, I went to Ascension for breakfast. It was so good I went back the next day, The first time I had Banana Nut Bread which was good, but not outstanding. I also had a Turmeric Latte which was very good. On my second visit I had the chocolate, almond croissant and a Latte. The croissant was big enough that I saved half of it for a snack later in the morning. The croissant was amazing and the unsweetened latte was a nice compliment to it. If I lived in the area, I could see this place being somewhere I would go as often as I had the chance!

Pleasant service with a smile for my coffee

Recent breakfast

Last minute breakfast get together with a great friend; just got back from vacation and needed to "extend" those vacation days; and catch up with my friend. Spontaneity has its perks; sealed a reservation here this morning; avocado toast is fab; and I had a side of carbs; I'm picky of my potatoes; the chef nailed it; wish I had asked for his or her name; thumbs up! Cappuccino is delish; sipped slow and sensuously. I was actually able to have an uninterrupted conversation with my good friend; that is gold here in Dallas; I do not like to be interrupted when I dine out; kudos to our observant host. Ascension is cozy; parking is great ( important to me) , food is plated well; and very flaourful; staff is very friendly and observant. What a way to wind down an international vacation. Thank you to the Ascension staff; you made the end of my summer 2018 a memorable one; I will be back; ..,with more friends ; thumbs up!
