Family Get Together

By 2016mathew |

The best Indian Restaurant I have ever been in the United States. Best Authentic & freshly made food, top notch service, couldn't be any better.

Delicious!

By Sara K |

This restaurant is SO delicious my son and I went two nights in a row. It's fresh, flavorful, and extremely well spiced. The only reason I am not giving it the full five stars is that it feels expensive.

Decent dining experience

By Sumana S |

We went to the place twice. Once for dinner and once for lunch buffet. Lunch buffet spread we really liked. Plenty options and tasty food. Dinner experience was good too. But price was on bit higher side, but that's okay compared to portion they serve.

So Freaking Amazing!

By Madisyn B |

This was the best food i have ever eaten! my family of 7 and i ate here and the worked were friendly and the food was impeccable! definitely eat here it’s worth it

Very good Indian food, Excellent customer service

By Lily |

I spent six weeks in Northern India, so I have eaten a lot of Indian food. I had the lunch buffet at Ashoka. Very nice variety of Indian food, great value. I have also ordered to go, for dinner. Very good. Excellent service. Very clean restaurant. Bathrooms are super clean. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Good Indian taste

By Arpit A |

We were here for dinner and we liked the food. Biryani was a bit disappointment but everything else was good.

Good Indian food

By Dennis S |

Nice place. Lots of actual Indians eating there...a good omen. We liked it! Big place. Lots of people for a Wed night.

Good value for money

By Prabhsimran Singh |

The ambiance of the place is average. But the food was great. I went there with my family for lunch. The place was not crowded at all. We ordered butter chicken and paneer with nans and rice. The cooking was on-point. Taste was incredible. I am not a spicy-food lover. But I loved the spicy food in here. And it tasted as Indian as it can be. All-in-all, it is a cool place with great Indian food. Definitely, a must-try for those who like Indian cuisine.

Do not take the overpriced recommendations!

By Duke_Skywalker |

The food was perfect (very delicious), as well as the service. When ordering, the waiter encouraged us to try another version of what we wanted. We agreed and the food still was very tasty. But…. When receiving the bill, all the joy was gone. The naan was 3 times more expensive as the one we initially wanted, and the enhanced vegetarian meal for my wife was double of the original price. This is not a fair business - be aware! Just take what you want, then you will be satisfied - but DO NOT accept the overpriced recommendations. Honestly this ruined our great experience.

Terrible Food

By wanderer |

One of the worst Indian food in the area. Dal Makhani was yellow in color and had coconut. Naam was dry and difficult to chew.

family lunch

By Ramon Valls |

we ordered lamb with rice ,vegetarian rice, shrimp curry, chicken curry and all were very good The service was very good

Good Food and Service

By PAD810 |

We were in a large group and visited at a time when the restaurant was not that busy. We enjoyed great food and great service. We would definitely visit again if we are in the Miami area.

Great buffet

By GetAway4us23 |

The all you can eat buffet is excellent. Lots of choices and the food is delicious. If you are in the mood for something different for lunch this is the place. The service is excellent and you can not beat the price. Location is central and the restaurant is very large with lots of seating. If you have not eaten Indian food, the main dishes are stews. Goes good with rice and naan bread but it lacks the crunch factor when it comes to texture. Great place to eat and try something different.

Disappointing Experience at Ashoka Indian Cuisine & Market

By Postive A |

I recently dined at Ashoka Indian Cuisine & Market and was deeply disappointed with my experience. The dosa and roti I ordered were poorly prepared, lacking the authentic flavors I was expecting. Adding insult to injury, the restaurant imposes an automatic 18% gratuity, which felt unreasonable given the subpar quality of the food and service. To any new customers considering this restaurant, please be cautious. It's frustrating to feel ripped off, especially when the meal doesn't live up to basic standards.

Excellent Indian Food

By Chccl |

Great taste n excellent quality with reasonable price. Love buffet. Excellent hospitality. Love to back whenever in Miami

Pleasant ambience

By Obie S |

Good service, nice ambience, disappointing food. The naan was dry, over cooked and old. The food was edible, though underwhelming. The price was very high for what was served. I shan’t return.

Very tasty, authentic Indian cuisine @ a good price

By Rachel Andersen |

We went for their lunch buffet and were uber satisfied. We walked in to a room filled with Indians, a first sign that the food had to be at least decent, and it was in fact quite delicious. Very subtle and authentic flavors, at a good price (we had their lunch buffet, dessert included).

Superb Food

By Dave J |

My wife and me have just eaten fantastic Indian food. The Vindaloo I have just tried was the perfect heat and taste and the tikka masala my wife had was also great. All of the sides and extras were also good topped of by friendly staff.

Excellent service, great food lots of variety, very authentic and friendly staff. We will be back whenever in Miami.

Delicious!

By H2O_log |

We love Indian food and were very happy to have found this place. We had the Veg Samosa appetizer, which was a large portion and very nice mint sauce. For mains, we had the Kondapur Chicken Curry (excellent and the medium heat was perfect, great seasoning) and the Lamb Vindaloo (also very good at spicy spicy, lamb was very tender), and the Garlic Naan. Very good naan! The portions were huge, could have easily split one, but had enough for a full lunch also the following day. We thought it made for a good value. Very good service!

Real Authentic Indian Taste😋😋😋

By Amit S |

Real taste of authentic Indian cuisine , food was delicious and staff were friendly too. Amazing place for a family lunch or dinner in Miami. Price is very reasonable. Of all the Indian restaurants I have visited , Loved this restaurant the most . Will recommend this place to family and friends.

Great Indian Food and Great Atmosphere

By josebegui |

If you are in the mood for great Indian food, this is it. The place is spacious with great decorations and the staff is very attentive. My son and I ordered the lamb and the sauces were very rich and flavorful. My wife had fish in a spicy sauce which was equally good. The portions here are generous, two average eaters may be able to share an order. And of course the have Kingfisher beer. I will be back.

chicken Biryani was no so good at this place

By Curious36908134777 |

we have ordered chicken biryani and it was no so good . They did not even serve the onions-lemons this is basic for biryani and food was not so great.

Average food

By Pratik s |

In south miami, looking at the other options this restaurant is comparatively better. But on a neutral scale average food, long serving time you can expect. We ordered button biryani and was really disappointed. However other foods are ok.

Superb North and South Indian Food

By B P |

My cousins and I ate here recently on a trip to Miami. We were not sure how good the food would be, but decided to take a chance. We were extremely glad we found this place because it was excellent. We are all from south India, but we like both north and south Indian food. We decided to try a variety of dishes from both regions. Everything was super tasty and I wish I had been more hungry to eat more! The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great late dinner around 9 pm with a lot of laughs. Our waiter told us that they have a chef who does south Indian food. Their menu is very extensive and has a huge variety of dishes. You'll have a hard time making up your mind. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food when I am in Miami next!

I enjoyed the Indian food at Ashoka

By Irina |

Very good Indian food and friendly staff.Alot of choices from the menu, vegetarian and non vegetarian food, spicy or not.I highly recommend this Restaurant.

Excellent food.!!!

By VJ V |

Went with my wife, had the buffet, great variety of food, and honestly had authentic taste to it too..! Less spicy though,if you need it spicy the a-la- cartel would give you that. Ambience is ok, very clean and spacious. Would definitely go there.

good service and food

By Haresh P |

excellent food and service great buffet and affordable prices ,authentic south Indian cuisine love the deserts

Too expensive for a plate of rice and meats

By Floyd G |

Too expensive for less serving of meals. Not worth spending 25 dollars on a plate of rice and meat!

EXCELLENT

By Krista S |

Food was very good, served hot and LARGE portions. Service was very pleasant and attentive. Space and decor well done and clean. Recommend the rocket nann and the cauliflower appetizer! Definitely satisfied

Its fine

By Monabhi29 |

Food is good not excellent but good . But the staff was not friendly. It was crowded and holiday season but still service matters.

Hidden gem!

By Sandy M |

We rented an Airbnb and this place is within walking distance. Wonderful selection of fresh, unique food served by very attentive staff. Definitely a Must!

GREAT STUFF

By paiJagdish |

I ate here with some work colleagues recently and the food was excellent. I had the fish curry and it was truly superb! Everyone was completely satisfied with their meal choices and said they'd come here again . The prices were good, the staff were friendly and attentive and the location is easy to find. Lots of parking and lovely buffets as well.

Best Indian in the area!!! Hands down!!

By jeremydboyd902 |

Authentic Indian Food with Huge Portions

By Brightone2 |

Enjoyed dinner here one night. Don't make the same mistake as us and order starters plus main - way too much even for my large appetite. Service was very good and the food tasty with plenty of heat in the "medium" dishes.

Out of this world food! Come here!!

By Ryan D |

Just had our best Indian food ever here! Good selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks. Amazing Eggplant Chat appetizer and a perfectly cooked chicken in Tikka Masala sauce rounds up this experience. Top it off with fresh baked garlic naan and your road to food heaven is paved! Friendly waiter and speedy service also impressed us.

Complements for the chef and staff!

By TJworldtraveler15 |

As an Indian I can say that the restaurant really surprised me with the quality of the food. We ordered a mango lassi, rasam and masala dosa. The service was very good and all the drinks and food had a real south Indian food taste. It was really good! If I come back to Miami for vacation I will definitely go back to this restaurant for the very nice south Indian food.

Great opportunity to try different Indian dishes

By rteixeir |

Amazing flavors and small selection of everything from beef, chicken, fish and vegetarian. It's not to spice. I will come again!

I liked the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. I did find it a bit expensive, but they also serve bigger portions of food.

AUTHENTIC FOOD AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE

By SC77777 |

Delicious! Everything is just fresh, light and flavorful. The place is very clean and they have amazing staff. So cool that they serve both NORTH & SOUTH dishes. Normally, most restaurants only have one. Satisfy all your Indian food craving here.

Great indian food in Miami

By Rosario C |

Great food! The samosas were yummy! The chicken tikka masala, the spinach in cream (palak paneer), and the lemon rice completed a great dinner. And as a lover of the chai tea, I highly recommend it! And I also want t also thank the Cuban lady who helped us to decide.

Authentic and excellent south indian cousine

By KANNAN SESHADRI |

Excellent food, authentic south indian cousine. You should definitely try the fish preparations here

Clean, quick service and delicious Paneer!

By Julian G |

I was referred to Ashoka by a friend and was not disappointed. Visited on a Friday night and below are my thoughts: - well lit restaurant with ample parking - immediately greeted by a host - friendly server and super attentive staff during whole experience - clean restaurant/ family friendly setting -Food: I am a Paneer guy so ordered my usual Mutter Paneer. Extremely tasty but pls note that it can be a bit spicier than other places when you order mild to medium. In full disclosure, the waiter did warn me so he was transparent from start. I enjoyed it !!! **Just as a caution for others to go with mild if you can't tolerate the heat!** - price was fair: 15.99 and my beer was $5 (kingfisher). I recommend and will be back soon !

AN Ultimate Experience

By arvind19 |

If you in Miami and Not having food at Ashoka , then u r missing lovely Indian Cusine. Not only Food Is Excellent but also there friendly service. There owner& staff r very friendly. It's like Going Again & Again

I found my thrill....

By EDominguezMIA |

......at Ashoka. I was an avid client for many years of Coral Gables iconic "House of India" (HOI). After it closed, I searched for years in Dade and Broward county for an Indian restaurant with comparable notes. I believe I may have found them in Ashoka. When visiting Ashoka be patient and do not be turned away by it's facade. Once you enter, you will be taken away by it's beautiful, expansive but comfortable interior. Upon entering, the smell from the aroma of the spices in the air open your appetite. We couldn't wait to enjoy ourselves. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. The buffet food at Ashoka was of the highest quality I had experienced at HOI. Unfortunately, though, the self-serve area was rather small for the amount of faithful clients. On my first line I was the 10th person waiting. As more patrons entered, I was 18th by my second trip. The quality of the food is high enough that I did not complain about the long line, although some around me were quietly complaining to each other. Maybe splitting the line and allowing self-serve on either side of the buffet area may manage the line. As per me, whether this is resolved or not, I do plan to return for such good food and presentation. In closing, what made me like the restaurant beyond the flavorful cuisine was the openness of the table servers, the gracious manager/owner who spoke with us upon leaving; but most importantly, the high amount of Indian families who were having lunch on the premise. Can't wait to return. HOI is the ruler by which I measure Indian restaurants. Ashoka is where I will get my Indian on and forget about all others.

A big spacious indian restaurant

By yogesh12321 |

Very least expected of the size of this restaurant near miami airport, its a big restaurant with many seating with a very proffesional and sweet staff The food, ambience and quality of service was excellent Very tasty north and south Indian cuisine The taste of food didnt give a feel like I am in the US but more of like in India

Disappointing - given Reviews on TripAdvisor

By ManishMM |

My family and I selected this restaurant for a take-out dinner, based on the superb reviews here on TripAdvisor. We ordered typical north Indian vegetarian dishes, such as samosas, saag paneer, and malai kofta. Not only was this one of the most expensive Indian restaurants we have visited (NYC-level prices), the food was mediocre at best. Highly disappointing. It's possible that the south Indian or the meat dishes are better, but the north Indian vegetarian meal we had was below average and absolutely not worth the price.

Delicious!!

By Anny N |

One of the best indian cuisines in Miami!, the restaurant is spacious and beautiful, the buffet lunch is really good and the attention is amazing! I will go to this place often, highly recommended!

Indian Meal

By khayyam J |

One of my favorite Indian restaurants the food Is nice and tasty the place is quite big so it does not always seem busy, the staff are efficient and nice I had chicken malai Tikka, makhani chicken nd garlic Naan all was very tasty.i always stop here when I'm in miami

Good option for vegetarians

By PrettoMauricio |

This family owned Indian restaurant was a good surprise, after looking for vegetarian restaurants in the doral area I decided to go check it out. The food it's in a very honest price range, big portions and lovely taste . As usual in any India restaurant the samosas are the base line and here was not different, fresh cooked samosas with great spices and great flavor. The service it's good with very helpful waiters and the owners always looking out. The restaurant it's big and might get busy for lunch time as it looks they have a self service all you can eat system during lunch time, as for dinner was a la carte

Evening out

By JerseyGirlinMIA |

I was craving Indian and found this wonderful place somewhat near our home. The restaurant is ample with comfortable seating. The portions were very generous we had the chicken chutneywalla and it was amazing. The garlic naan and the Keema samosa were also great. Our server was very delightful and quick with suggestions. We will definitely return here.

Great Indian Food! atmosphere wow!

By blitzfamily2016 |

From the time I pulled in to the large parking lot To the welcoming sliding front Door To the wonderful aromatic smell coming from the kitchen. We had the lunch buffet on a Sunday 15.99 well worth the price more choices than you could imagine they even out hot naan bread Monday-Friday lunch buffet is 12.99 Also have a full service bar I just had a large Indian beer Don't miss out on this gem of a Indian restaurant

Good Indian Food

By sdahake |

This place is really huge, though we found the tables are a little cluttered and very near each other. We just wanted simple food and so we opted or dal tadka which comes with a side if rice. The waiter himself suggested that we go for tandoori roti as well since its nice and crispy and they could make it out of whole wheat for us. The food was delicious. The ambience is like any other Indian restaurant with Hindi songs on TV, overall good experience.

Southern and Northern Indian Cooking

By michael3000 |

Clean, well-organzized, and polite. Tried Dosas, goat dishes, and Indo-Chinese fried rice. All very good. Paneer and mango lassi excellent as well. Will return.

Good Indian in Miami

By Hugh R |

Large open space restaurant. Popadums a bit disappointing as was pickle tray. Starters very good. Mains are huge as are sides. Not the best but certainly not the worst. Very expensive compared to UK restaurants

This Indian restaurant is

This Indian restaurant is in my top 3 in world. Had a meal here last night and everything was top notch. Amazing place definitely try it.

The best😋😋

By Amit S |

Ashoka is Simply one of the best restaurants in Miami. The food is outstanding and of high quality, it's always a pleasure to go back for another bite to eat. Staff are all pleasant and really look out for whatever you need. Great value for the price. We highly recommend it.

Weekend buffet

By Akshat |

Had weekend lunch buffet here. Food was ok.Some items were good others not that much. It was hit or miss. Small buffet not too many items. Rice wasn't even good quality. Non veg items were not very good. They had kept the roasted chicken so far in the corner with dessert. Almost felt like with the intention that no one will get it. There were deserts and salads in between other food and Chicken. For me the buffet was below average.

Great Buffet & Service for LARGE Group

By SUZANNE M |

Great buffet and family-like customer service. We were a group of 175 people for a pre-planned brunch, Dec 22, 2021. Food continued to be re-stocked and warm at the double-sided buffet, food labeled well. Owner and staff consistently circulated floor and buffet to ensure refill of water glasses, offer bread, greet newly arrived, accommodate needs. Owner noticed and stepped outside to personally greet a family of 5 including children, to let them know a table would be free in 5 minutes. Excellent management of a very large group. Great attitude and rapport throughout. 40+ luggage items we’re also kindly accommodated up front, as many of us were leaving directly for airport from restaurant. So well done. Will definitely be back.

Great food!

By Jessel S |

This place is really a gem with great tasting food that you can enjoy there or take away and very friendly staff and adequate parking

Pleasently surprised on a first visit..

By francosoto |

VIsited Ashoka with my daughter, son-in-law and my wife. My daughter had just been to India over the Christmas Holydays and she had been wanting to share not just her photos of the trip....so there we went. She could not stop "marveling" how authentic the dishes were. We all tried many different dishes and all were so delicious. We will return many times to continue exploring their menu.

Extraordinary Indian Cuisine

By pattydorris |

Bring your appetite for the most yummy buffet at lunch. We try to go here whenever in town because there are so many choices on the buffet and there is nothing that does not taste delectable. You will not be disappointed. The staff is super nice and it is an all good. 😊

Delicious and spicy !!

By camthegreat726 |

Been looking for a good restraint in Miami epically Indian. Came across this Ashoka restaurant abs decided to try it. Outside doesn’t look nice but as you walk in it’s really nice and clean. Could smell the Indian food was getting so hungry we order a couple plates medium spicy and my god everything was good and tasty. The service was great. Got my refills when needed and any additional items I needed. The place was busy but we did go towards the end of the day. Will go again

Tremendous Selection Plus Vegan

By Rob P |

So many choices of traditional Indian fare in meat, chicken, lamb, vegan, etc. I changed my mind three times before settling on one dish. Good selection of wine.

Vegan and vegetarian options!

By Paint.Me.Gold |

This place is amazing. I eat a lot of Indian food. And I mean A LOT. But this restaurant passed any standards I set for eating out. The staff is friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. I couldn't decide between two dishes and asked the server. His suggestion was wonderful. Didn't try to push anything, but simply offered complementary suggestions. I'm vegetarian so I had the Mutter Paneer. My only regret is that I didn't take a picture when it came out. I devoured my meal. It was amazing. Literally, I must have looked strange closing my eyes and savoring the dish. The garlic naan was so rich in garlic, soft, and airy. It is a bit pricey - but worth every penny. Great quality food, atmosphere, and service!

Service so slow

By Vikas D |

Preparing a dosa took 1 hour. You need to have patience to eat here.... so advise is to come if you have patience

Awful Greasy Indian Food

By Anahita M |

We drove all the way from the suburbs for this disappointing restaurant. I hate to leave nasty reviews but the food was truly awful, in fact I could not even eat it, sent most of it away! For all those who gave 4/5 * reviews, they do not know what truly good indian food is. Grilled lamb appetizer was the only dish that I could eat, just average. Tandoori chicken tasted weird and so did the chicken curry, just a ton of spices added but no actual flavor to the food. It tasted like it had been previously frozen and the chef just prepped it and served it. As I am of Indian origin and cook the same food at home I cold tell it was not fresh and bad quality meat/chicken being used. Service/cleanliness okay. Please avoid at all costs unless you want to go home with heartburn.

Ashoka Indian Restaurant

By lissy0830 |

Ashoka was my first, and recent, experience with Indian cuisine. I normally do not eat spicy foods so the shrimp saag and the chicken tikka masala were ordered. Both were quite delicious. For dessert, a mango type of “ice cream” was ordered. It was smooth and light and I would order it again. The waiter, Kumar, was terrific! He made excellent recommendations and was very attentive and pleasant! The restaurant was also very clean. Ashoka Indian Restaurant delivered excellent service and yummy food!

Hour for takeout

By Trinity A |

Walked in to a empty restaurant at 5:01 Sunday Place my order for real meals Waited while 5 other orders got placed and taken and waited more and more for an hour to go by till they brought mine out and it was back to a empt restaurant. Both my sauces had no vegetables also just liquid and spices. Will not be back

Superb Food

By AjayJaiSingh |

While the food in Miami is generally great. We ended up looking for an Indian restaurant. This place offered amazing indian food. The chicken and biryani we ordered was excellent. No complaints. If you wish to enjoy good Indian food definitely visit this place. And they have ample seating space.

Best Easter Sunday Meal of my life

By Larry T |

This is a most wonderful, clean and friendly Indian Restaurant and to top it off the food was outstanding. The many selections were seemingly endless and each and every one tasted fresh. The vegetarian as well as meat selections were simply astoundingly full of favor. They served fresh naan to each table so your bread was always fresh from the oven. The tandoori chicken was delightful as was the chicken tika marsala and the butter chicken. The vegetarian side of the buffet was to numerous and varied to mention but each and every one of them were delicious. The salad selections were not only numerous but also fresh and displayed nicely. The accoutrements were varied and numerous and left nothing out. The Royal Tea and rasmali were heavenly.

tasteless food

By Dushyant P |

Wanting to eat light food, we ordered Masala Dhosa (a south Indian dish ) and Vegetarian samosas. Nither had any taste. Though the dhosa, was huge but tasteless, They had even asked us, if we needed the filling spicy, medium, or mild [ I had ordered mild and my wife had ordered spicy ], even then there was no taste in either. cleaning needs to improve especially during this epidemic.

Gem in Flagler Plaza

By Caryn L |

In an unassuming strip mall, behind Mall of the Americas, we found a palatial Indian restaurant called Ashoka. The service was warm and inviting. The food was just spicy enough and bursting with flavor. Samosas were flaky and stuffed with goodness. The lamb korma was creamy and had a nice kick. The garlic naan was one of the best I've had - light, fluffy, buttery deliciousness. The rice kheer is a must-have if you have a sweet tooth. We'll definitely be back. Tips: the restaurant is huge and probably great for large group meals; they have a fully stocked bar.

Best Indian Food in Miami, hands down

By Peter P |

I love Indian food, truly. I have had some wonderful Indian food in my travels, and I can honestly say Ashoka is top-tier, authentic, and flavorful. Most places I go (Indian or otherwise) refuse to subject me to the level of spice I so desire. That level is quite high, and I can understand why restaurants are wary of serving an unknown individual a very spicy dish, but at Ashoka, they listened when I told them I wanted it very very, authentically spicy. I had the Lamb Vindaloo, and it was incredible. I have been craving it since I had it about a month ago, and I cannot wait to return and try more dishes (but I will most probably settle on the Vindaloo again!). I was able to try my Fiancee's Chicken Tikka Masala and it was also quite delicious, as were all of the appetizers and Naan we ordered. Do yourself a favor and stop by Ashoka for Lunch (they have a Buffet!) or dinner. The service, food, and ambiance are the best.

Too much onus on sour (lemon/lime)

By BrendanKDublin |

Thought I'd be lazy and try out the new UBEREATS app and order an Indian delivery to my hotel. Arrived promptly and fresh. Excellent starters (a chicken pakora type) but less then average main dish of lamb jalfrezi (sic). So bitter and sour that I only had three mouthfuls. Nan bread was good as was the rice. Chef needs to go easy on the lemon or lime - he swamps it and ruins the dish and the experience. Indian dining is about teasing the taste buds - not destroying them with overkill. Sometimes an excessive use of tamarind creates this overpowering sourness/bitterness. Either way - temper it in future please.

Best Indian Food

By Saima |

I went to Ashoka with friends for a lunch buffet. Staff was very cordial and friendly. Buffet spread had tons of variety. I am of Indian descent so I cam vouch for the authenticity of the food. They had many vegetarian options as well as three options for non-veg. My favorite was chicken biryani. Chole chaat was another favorite of mine. In the buffet price also included was madras chai. We were visiting from Phoenix so it was kind of a bummer that we couldn't go there more often. Next time we are in Miami, we are going!

Love It!

By Dan D |

I've been looking for a new favorite Indian spot, and this is definitely it. I caught the very end of the lunch buffet, but I and not only did the staff seat me with a smile, they brought out more man, just for me, I and brought me desserts, to make sure before they cleaned up. Impeccable service, but the food...and I know my Indian... It's awesome. I will definitely be back.

Craving for Indian food

By Arvin57 |

We were craving for Indian food and didn't want to wait to go to New York, so we decided to give it a try to Ashoka Indian restaurant in Miami, FL. We asked for a Samosa Chaat as an appetizer, it had good flavor but it was missing some ingredients like the samosa or crispy noodles, l couldn't find the samosa, maybe it was all broken down mixed with chickpeas and other ingredients, l did felt the tamarind sauce. I ordered a chicken tikka masala and my wife ordered lamb ribs, flavor was good, we got confused because they only brought one bowl of rice for both meals, anyway we shared it. Dessert was good, not too big as american desserts (good), tried the indian beer also good Overall, dinner was good, just a little on the expensive side, $137 dollars for two people, but we wanted Indian food and got it

Very good

By _rnshuklag |

Few visited the restaurant with family for lunch as well as dinner at the restaurant.Very good service and food.good environment within.

Very authentic, great taste and service, clean resturant

By IfromMiami |

I live in the area and am thrilled to discover a new Indian restaurant, as i do not believe there are any others. Large welcoming space, very clean and friendly staff. I came into the restaurant to order take-out. While i reviewed the menu and then ordered i was offered a drink while i waited, much appreciated. Good Indian music in the background. Ordered a chicken dish (Chicken Saag Tikka) with naan. Fantastic. Well worth your visit.

Good Food

By ajayshastry |

A decent restaurant which is reasonably priced especially on their buffet. Service quality satisfactory.

Disgusting

By KM19 |

We went for a holiday buffet and it was comfortably the worst indian food. If you know a thing a too about indian food please please do yourself a favor and skip this. Idlis are like stone, the vadas are fried in stinky oil, gulab jamun and custard and the curries were horrible. The only saving grace was the naan. We did not try the non veg options and if you are a vegetarian this is not the place for you.

Good food and a good place.

By vthallap |

Went to this restaurant in July with my in laws and family. We ordered some vegetarian food. The food was good and the service too was great. Would love to go sometime soon.

Indian food in Doral Area

By NDDN |

Ashoka Restaurant has a full service bar. Food suitable for Vegans and Vegetarians. You have to ask if the Nan bread contains eggs. Not a % star fancy place but they will cater to your needs and requirements. Suitable foe large groups, parties and children's birthday dinner. They have a buffet lunch for office crowds during the week.

Amazing starters and great buffet

We went first for dinner at Ashoka. The requirement was that they would be able to serve food without garlic along with vegetarian food. They had few options and it worked out. However, the interesting piece was that the starter - veg manchurian dry was one of the best that I have had for a long time. It tasted so good that we went again after a few days to enjoy it. The service was great and ambience was good. The music was also Indian, so made us feel like home. Overall, enjoyed the place

Just Amazing!!!

An amazing experience from the moment i was greeted in to i walked out. Really liked the ambiance, the place is very neat and clean, been there twice and found the same way..well maintained. Went for buffet the first time with colleagues from work, it was an array of dishes with multiple options for veg and non veg. we all enjoyed it worth the price. In few days went back with my family for dinner, we tried the lamb chop, another kebab and some curry dishes. Both the grill items came out in a sizzler, we were thrilled with the aroma and the presentation. It had a nice spicy touch, rich in flavor an authentic taste. Very haapy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood., will go again..

We went to Ashoka Indian Cuisine last weekend when we are driving to key-west, fl. The buffet was really well organized and hotel ambience really rocks. The buffet items are really good especially the tandoori platter, butter naan, mutton curry and chicken curry, all items taste better. The food was not spicy but the taste was really good. We were hesitated to go as we are new to this area but this hotel gave us good food which we are lacking from our trip from virginia to keywest. My rating is 4.5

Indian Buffet

By YourHelpfulWendy |

This place as many many others are in my collections of Indian restaurants, And today was the perfect day to try it with my friend Marilu, we went to their buffet and it was a wonderful thing to do because we got to try all their food at once. Let me give you a piece of advice, if you're planning to go to the buffet do not to have breakfast or even dinner because the amount of food it's a lot of different type of food and very heavy, if you're not used to eating like that. Very delicious with all the spices dishes that I love about their Indian cuisine and my favorite part was The desert because they had that fried dough with the syrup with Indian spices I definitely loved it. The buffet cost $16 plus tax and gratuity. It was wonderful because of the amount of food like I said we ate. I definitely recommend this place. Thank you for a wonderful meal and great service.

My husband and I were in the

My husband and I were in the mood for good Indian food, and we wanted to try a new place and found Ashoka to have very wonderful reviews. I’m so glad we're going this incredible authentic Indian restaurant! When we walked in, we were promptly seated, the first thing I noticed was how big and spacious the space was. I do have one negative comment about the space, and it is that there was no ambiance music. I believe that ambiance music is very needed in such a big space. All you could hear was people talking and some television speakers that really did not work. Our waiter was evidently professional and attentive. Our food was exquisite. We had an appetizer that was made out of cauliflower that was exceptional. My lamb chops were heavenly, they came in a flavorful, rich creamy sauce. Our dessert was also delicious. Needless to say, I can’t wait to go back!!!

Fabulous food & Excellent Service

Fantastic dining experience, and probably the most attentive and courteous Indian restaurant I've dined at...while keeping prices fairly reasonable for dinner and decent portions. The ambience is quiet with Indian music and a rotations of waiters stopping to help in any way. Really great service. Wow. The food was all amazing! I would definitely come back and try more.I'll be back

Filling and Delicious

This was a solo dinner on a business trip. I arrived at the restaurant fairly late 8PM on a Tuesday night and was quickly seated in a well lit area with a good view of the overhead TV featuring Bollywood specials. The menu is extensive with Vegan, Vegetarian and various types of seafood, lamb, beef, goat and chicken dishes. I chose chicken Balti for my main dish along with plain Naan. The chicken arrived piping hot in a bowl with red and green peppers, egg plant and stir fried chicken chunks. The dish is pleasantly spiced complimenting the high temperature presentation. The chicken was tender as were the vegetables and the sauce went well with the accompanying rice. I could not finish the entire meal and had to forgo the special homemade ice cream. This is a find and I plan to come back and try many other dishes.

Not recommended

After a long flight to Miami we went to Ashoka restaurant for dinner even before going to the hotel. We were all excited for dinner, as this place was recommended by couple of friends and reviews on Google looked good. Restaurant had few people. We sat and waited for over 30 minutes but no one came to take our order. A waiter came only after my son went to the manager. After ordering it took another almost half an hour for first item to come. So the rest of the items came one by one and still our order was NOT right. I ordered Mysore masala dosa and got regular masala dosa. My son ordered two nans and none came. Manager told us that he’s not charging for nans and dosa but “promised” that next time the food will be complimentary, knowing that we were there just for Christmas. I never except free but I feel restaurant could be more fair considering over an hour wait, when the place is almost empty, not getting things and getting something that we never ordered. Well the food was okay. I’ll not recommend this place.👎🏼

Delicious indian food

Beautiful place, it is very spacious and perfectly decorated. Its located close to the Mall of the Americas in a small shopping mall close to where a Costco used to be. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, provided us with superb service, filling my glass with water continuously and checking in to see if we needed something and if everything was to our liking. The food was outstanding and the portions were big, we had the Chennai Chicken and Jalfrezi Chicken, both were delicious and perfectly spiced. You know they serve good authentic Indian food when you look around and see a lot of people from India earing here. Definetly recommend and hope to be back very soon.

Terrible Service

By Ananth A |

We went on a Monday evening and ordered Chana masala, biryani and dosa. Before ordering we wanted to make sure the biryani was vegetarian and the Manager was pissed off because of that. Then, it took them 45+ minutes to get the order. The hotel was full and they were serving people who came after us! They didn't get the dosa, when we enquired he first said we didn't order then he said he didn't write it down and then said they were out of dosas. Food was ok. I can tolerate mediocre food but not bad service. Didn't tip them and will not go back.
