We really enjoy the atmosphere of this place and the food is always good. We have never had to wait to be seated.

Great happy hour, great service

By Waltfab |

So upon reading reviews about Aspen Creek Grill I decided to stop in and give it a try. Admittedly I fully had every intention of trying the shrimp and grits because of all of the praise it got here on Trip Advisor. When I sat down I was greeted by Sean my bartender. He advised me that all day Sunday there were happy hour specials which included half-price appetizers and specials on beer, wine and cocktails. I started off with a simple draft beer and tried a half order of PowWow shrimp. These lightly battered and fried shrimp are tossed with a sweet creamy chili sauce which was amazing. My bartender Sean couldn't stop raving about the steaks so I got a small ribeye. The meet was so tender, seasoned well and grilled to perfection! I have to admit that I was not that crazy about the macaroni and cheese side that I got, but the coleslaw made up for it. Although the food was fantastic I have to give kudos to my bartender. You could tell he takes a great amount of pride not only in his profession, but also in his restaurant. He's very knowledgeable about the menu and all that his company has to offer. On my last night in San Antonio I had to stop back for a full order of the PowWow shrimp. It was massive and more than enough for two people. Although I am happy to return home, I do look forward to my next trip to San Antonio so I can pay another visit to the Aspen Creek Grill.

Good food...casual atmosphere.

We have gone several times and have never been disappointed in either the food nor the service. Good place for couples dining.

ASPEN CREEK GRILL

By Brent F |

First time there. Very impressive. Aspen atmosphere. lots of TVs everywhere. Big place. Very friendly Staff. Country fried steak was very good with loaded mashed potatoes and corn (choice of two sides). Full bar. Affordable prices. Tables or booths. Many different rooms. Web site has plenty of pictures. SERVICE WAS FAST!!! Surprised us. We will return!!

Will be back!

We decided to give this fairly new restaurant a try and were glad we did. I had the Grits and Shrimp, which was certainly not your normal fare. Chili cheese grits topped with a tomato cream sauce and shrimp Glad I tried it and would recommend it. Another person had the Pasta Jambalaya and reported it was also very good. The third person had the Santa Fe Chicken and said it was very good. He also said the mashed potatoes he got with it were very good. We were all pretty full but decided we couldn't resist trying the fried cheesecake so ordered it with three spoons It was delicious! The crust on the cheesecake was great. It came with a HUGE scoop of ice cream drizzled with caramel and sprinkled with cinnamon This is definitely a "share" item. While it was very good, it was way too much for one person. The menu had plenty of variety and should be able to please anyone. We will be back to try some more of the menu items. Service was good and the interior of the restaurant was pleasant. Price are reasonable. Bill for three of us was just under $57 which included 2 beers, 3 meals and the cheesecake..

You must try the jambalaya!!

Decided we liked the look of the place after passing it on the way to somewhere else so we stopped by. Good call!! Good service, excellent food and not expensive. Try the jambalaya............

New Venue at this location

By L H |

This is a new restaurant at this location that used to be Johnny Carino's. They have remodeled the building and made it more rustic to go with the theme of the restaurant. The decor is nice and upon entering we were inundated with about 6 people greeting us. I suspect since it is new they are trying to impress:) We were seating promptly and the place filled up quickly. It was a bit noisy but again the place was full and the tables/booths are all close together. If you are looking for something intimate and quite, this isn't:) Our waiter was new at it, as we assumed most of the waiters were, but he was friendly and courteous. We asked about a happy hour but the waiter wasn't sure so a manager came by and gave us a menu for the happy hour but it is only from 4-6. Since it was after 6 we were not able to do that. The waiter explained that all the food is freshly prepared and nothing our of a box:) He recommended appetizers and suggested their margaritas. We ordered a glass of red wine, which was way to warm. I mentioned it being quite warm but was told that is room temperature. So not sure if they have it in kitchen storage or a room on the west side of the building in the TX summer heat BUT it either needs to be kept in a cooler room or chilled a bit beforehand in my opinion. The serving size along with it being too warm was not worth $6. The margarita was a nice size and very tart as it was hand squeezed and not out of a machine. It also was $6. The menu has lots of choices and three of the four ordered different items. The chicken fried steak was delicious and meat filled the crust. The fried shrimp was also delicious. The sides of cole slaw and seasoned fries were a disappointment. The fries had no seasoning on them and were somewhat soggy and the coleslaw also had no seasoning it. It is as if someone forgot to add the seasoning to either. We all agreed as we all had the same sides. The Sante Fe Chicken plate was very good though. The portions were worth the price. So all in all we would go back but hope they figure out the seasoning issue with the slaw and fries. Glad something opened in this location as it is convenient.

Dining Room Open

By L H |

This locations dining room is now open after COVID-19 closed dine-in for a time. We had dinner here and were greeted by masked hostess and seated in a side room with booths. The booths were marked for seating at every other one but during our early dinner visit no one else was seated in the room. The main dining room had one couple when we arrived. Our waiter, Michael, was very personable, attentive and glad to be back at work. The service was timely and the food was a good temperature when served. When the food was served, the waiters were gloves to serve it. The Aspen Hawaiian Chicken was a moderate serving and very good. Although it comes with rice and one other side of your choice, they allowed mashed potatoes instead of rice. The potatoes are mashed with the skins and the green beans came in a small bowl and were crisp and fresh. The Pow Wow Shrimp unfortunately was not up to par as I have had this dish several times in the past. The coating was much to heavy and soggy and easily slid off the shrimp. I ended up just eating the bare shrimp and leaving the coating. Also there generally is a bed of cole slaw underneath but this time only a few little cabbage strips. We enjoyed the Hogue Cabernet (1/2 price bottle on Wed.) and aside from the shrimp, the visit was a good one and we felt they were be cautious during these times of concern. As we left we noticed three people sitting at the bar separated, a couple seated at a table in the bar and then a few people spread out in the main dining room. They also have you enter in the front and exit out the party room door. We will definitely return again as they offer nice daily specials and also serve lunch.

Ok food, better service.

By Capt_Wyatt |

Tried this place for lunch because I heard their seared tuna was worthy. In fact, it was good. But the seasonal veggies were tough and undercooked. Not al dente, but hard! The sweet potatoes had a pound of marshmallows which I promptly scraped off. It was all decent food and the waiter, Luis, was excellent. But one annoying thing was that we waited many minutes for a hostess who never appeared. The line was growing so we walked in and found a waiter to seat us. This was at 12:20pm. They need a better guest greeting system.

Delightful Visit

By L H |

We recently went here for dinner and it was a delightful experience. They have special most nights of the week and you can check that out on their website. We visited on a Wednesday which is $5 Pow Shrimp with the purchase of an entry and ½ price bottles of wine. Our waitress Jennifer was very friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the Campfire Meatloaf , the Pow Shrimp and a bottle of Hogue Cabernet. The meatloaf came with lots of brown gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was a good portion for $10.99 and you can make adjustments to sides or gravy etc. depending on your likings and special requirements. It was delicious and filling. The Pow Shrimp was equally tasty and although has a bit of spice to it, it is balanced out nicely with the slight bed of slaw served with it. We didn’t count but believe there were about a dozen medium size shrimp on the little platter. The wine by the bottle starts at around $28 and the Hogue Cabernet (Washington) was enjoyed. We appreciated the fact that the wine was very slightly chilled which is needed and we prefer in the hot TX weather. Jennifer checked on us several times during the visit but we never felt rushed. The atmosphere is not too loud and there was plenty of seating. You can sit anywhere in the restaurant and still get the specials. The bar area has three TV’s mounted above the bar which has stool seating. There is also booths and table seating in this area as well. We will be returning.

Lovely building mediocre food

By connie e |

Had lunch with a friend at this restaurant that had only been open in the evening and expected food with more taste. They advertise all food is made from scratch on premises but the food they use could be better quality. I had a Caesar Salad with grilled chicken that was not wonderful. The dressing was fair, the salad greens fine and the chicken tasted like it was pumped full of water when it was processed. The service was good in fact it was overkill. Too many times our waitress and other people would ask us if everything was alright. Don't think I will return as there are other restaurants to try nearby.

First time

By Tim R |

Me just moved to San Antonio and have been looking for s local hand out. This may be it. The people are friendly. The service is good. The prices are reasonable. The manager welcomed us personally and gave us a coupon for a free appetizer. I think we'll be back.

It's the bomb if you need great comfort food in the NW side

By Kathy D |

We were semi-regular customers BC (before Covid), and now we're regular like clockwork patrons @ curbside pick-up. Can't say enough good things about Aspen Creek. The pow wow shrimp, the monte cristo, the classic dinner combos, are all made fresh on the site & all are fabulous. My husband loves the chicken fried steak & orders the same every time--although he DID venture out one night & tried the unique meatloaf. And last night, I got the brand new pulled pork sandwich which I highly recommend. Good food in NW San Antonio is pretty hard to find if you're burned out on Mexican & this place is a family favorite forever.

Sunday lunch out

By Matthew L |

I was expecting to see some bison or some things we saw in Colorado. Although it was still a very good place to eat and the decor was nice. The staff was attentive and nice. There was a small leak in the ceiling but I am sure they will take care of it. Besides it is still new. I liked it and will go back again.

Always Excellent!

By KatyEmptyNester |

This place is so good and so consistent! We love to go near various holidays because they typically have a special drink to commemorate the occasion. The food is always excellent and they offer an excellent variety of menu choices. This is rapidly becoming a favorite destination for my wife and me.

Friday Night Date Night

By Jennifer A |

This place is a well kept secret! I highly recommend the hand made margaritas (no mix), the pow wow shrimp is beyond compare and the service is outstanding! Our first intro to Aspen Creek was a year ago where we met the now manager, Jarad. He was rightly promoted and it is obvious he personally trains his staff to deliver the kind of service he gave us our first trip in. The fresh made meals are a cut above your average American grill. Nothing is cookie cutter or pre-made. Prices are very reasonable. You can’t go wrong here!

Excellent food and waitress

By lakepeople-11 |

Best restaurant we’ve been so far moving here in late March. We live in an independent Senior apartments and the food is ok. This was excellent. We went with family and they love this place, The only glitch is getting a table.. We were there at 5:30 and there were plenty of tables and booths. My handicap husband was told it would be awhile. There was no others waiting. We waited ten minutes . Four women were talking to each other. I inquired what the hold up was. They set us immediately. Management needs to check on this as one of the women was seemingly on a power trip, If the food had been mediocre well. We’ll be back, waitress was outstanding.

Nice suprise.

By curtisrsailor |

Very friendly waitstaff. Waiter was nice and personable. He was very attentive to our orders and stayed on top of the drink refills. I had the fish tacos which were wonderful. They were loaded with fish and had an awsome Pow-Wow sause. Will go again.

Delicious

By bears60 |

Our first visit to this restaurant and we were very pleased. My wife had the Hawaiian Chicken, cole slaw, and baked potato. I had the Chicken fried steak, mac and cheese, and sautéed mushrooms. The food was hot and delicious and all the sides were plentiful so we shared them. The server was very pleasant and polite. The restaurant is very clean and well lit. We will return.

Fried food heaven, or is it the other place?

By Robert F |

I grudgingly give Aspen four stars. am a healthy eater, and found that the vast majority of items are fried. Fried this, fried that. In fact my wife ordered the chicken fried steak. I had soup and an appetizer and made due, although we discussed leaving. The chicken fried steak, however, was like a hockey puck. The service was very attentive and the waiter offered to replace it, but we declined. We have a health crisis in this country largely because of our own actions and choices. I am starting to give lower ratings for those restaurants that specialize in everything fried. Even though they are packed and people love it, the point is, they shouldn’t. I give this rating based on my personal preferences and experience. I will say that I liked their shrimp appetizer, which seemed to be a knock-off of Bonefish Grill’s “Bang Bang Shrimp.” Very tasty. Most likely everyone will ignore this review and go get their fried things. At least I can say I warned you.

Not as stellar as past times

By L H |

We met friends here on a Wed. for the ½ price wine bottles and $6 Pow Wow Shrimp. Parking was easy around 5:00 and seating was quick but our server never came to the table. Two of us arrived about 10 minutes before the other couple and we were seated promptly but no waiter came by even after the other couple arrived. We finally asked another server if we had a server and she went to check. After a short while she returned and told us she would be our server as they changed sections…… She quickly took our drink orders. It appeared she might be newer but was very nice. We ordered a bottle of Drumheller Merlot ($26) for $13 and all enjoyed it. Our orders consisted of the Spicy Salad with Pow Shrimp ($14.48), Pow Wow Shrimp with rice ($6+$2.49 extra for rice) and ordered a side salad $3.99, Country Steak with mashed potatoes, and a Salmon plate. The Pow Wow Shrimp on Rice was very good and cooked and seasoned just right. The Spicy Salad was good but greens could have been better. The side salad was nothing to praise as there was a lot of white and core. The Salmon plate was good as well BUT the country steak had gravy on it that was not appealing at all. It appeared there was some spice added to it that did not compliment it. All four of us tasted it and none liked it. The meat and potatoes were good but being covered with the not pleasant gravy definitely took away from the meal. We always enjoy eating here and this was the first time we had an issue with having no waiter and something that was not appealing in the food. We will return though.

Great Value

By 901tammyv |

This was a very nice place. The food was Very good and the pricing was very reasonable. The staff was very friendly. We have been to many places like this one but the price for what you got is nothing compared. The happy hour drinks were very good and a good portion. I will be coming back again.

Amazing Food and friendly people

By Deckerj |

The Aspen Blue sirloin was incredible! Fresh, hot baked potato and crisp cold salad. Hawaiian Chicken had fresh pineapple pico. Very tasty. Server was friendly and efficient!

Horrible Food

By Mary T |

Worst meal ever. I ordered a chicken fried steak which was tasteless & the gravy was tasteless & watery. The potatoes were overly peppered. Or someone thought adding jalapeños would be a good idea. The sweet tea was tasteless. The broccoli was under cooked & the mac and cheese was watery. Worst meal ever! Won’t be eating there again!

Tasty

By Bill C |

Went there for lunch, I had the Country fried Chicken with cream gravy and fries. It was very crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside! (Just the way I like it) Fries we were cooked just right too! The wife had the Fried Shrimp off the appetizer menu and loved it. Nice and helpful staff, nice and clean bathrooms. We will be back! Oh, great TV to watch sports in the bar area

Delicious!

The family went for my mom's birthday and our server was quick and efficient and on point. The food excellent and delicious will definitely be back and would recommend.

Wow.. Better than we expected

By David D |

We arrived at 5:40. Seating was fast and the hostess was very polite. Our waitress was well spoken and helpful with suggestions. We ordered Chips and Queso, Country Fried Chicken and Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. All were excellent. The quality of food and flavor were far better than average. Service was great overall as well. We'll be back...

Wednesday Night Family Dinner

By Liz E |

Our 2nd time going and Service is so great. Nice happy hour specials too! Food is tasty and not bland. Kids mac n cheese actually looks creamy, not dry like other places. Our new "go to" place.

Surprisingly Good

By Richard M |

In the San Antonio area with my wife last week and was looking for a good place and not your chain. This was right were we wanted to be and we tried it. It was so unexpected that we brought the whole family back a couple of days later It looks like a chain and it probably is but we were not treated that way nor was the food tasting that way Wait staff was very good and knowledgeable and polite I wanted a chicken fried steak and this place did not disappoint in any way. Portions were very good and the drink selection was surprisingly good As I said we went back for more and you should try it

Not good tonight

By j0hnmcnair |

Usually good food and service. Visited at 3:30 on a Thursday, not busy, and not a primary concern of our waitress. The pot roast has been good in the past, however; today it should have been listed on the menu as a gristle chunk, it was one piece about 12 ounces. Was not able to eat any of it. We would have gotten better service if we would have waited on ourselves.

They've got a good thing going

By Christy B |

I met a friend here for dinner on a Wednesday night right at the busiest time but we were seated right away because this is a new chain restaurant to San Antonio & not many people know about it yet. The hostess was very sweet when we asked to switch to a booth and found one right away for us. Our waiter was superb and kept our drinks filled. We had the chicken fried steak platter and the 8oz sirloin platter & each entree came with 2 sides. Everything was cooked just right and very fresh. Our appetizer was not spectacular but the service was very good! I'll Definitely be coming back!

Fantastic Meal All Around...for a Great Price!

By Kevin S |

5 of us went here and 5 of us loved it. It's rare to find a Monte Cristo sandwich - but Aspen Creek Grill has it. Two of us had steaks and they were outstanding and so too was the jambalaya pasta. Probably the best meal of the night was the Southwest Steak Sandwich. It was so unique and delicious.

A fresh change comes to San Antonio

By Dave P |

My wife and I ate dinner at Aspen Creek Grill and was pleasantly surprised. Although the we liked J. Carinos, we did enjoy both of our meals. The service was great and Taylor took care of all our needs at our pace. My wife and I like to have an hour and a half to two hour dinner. Sonia ate the fried shrimp and I had the 6oz. Filet. I have to say it was comparable to a Longhorn Steakhouse or an Outback steak. Aspen Creek grill likes to filet their steak so your 6-8 oz will be cut in half but both sides were cooked to my liking. The salad was fresh but didn't compare to an outback salad. The beer was medium cold but the total bill was approximately 25-30 less expensive than the restaurants I listed above. There is a happy hour 4-7 M-F and the bar has 4 large screen TVS to please anyone's taste. The bathrooms were clean and all the fixtures were full including soap and hand towels. The best thing about the bathroom was the ceiling wallpaper, culled with classic albums, reminiscent of my taste in music from the 70's-90's. We enjoyed our dinner and surroundings and will definitely return.

Twice got my order wrong.

By 218chas |

I phoned in an order for take out. I got there nothing was waiting for me. I re ordered, they got my order wrong. No offer to comp anything, which would have been the right thing to do . No apology but the guy asked me for the name of the person who took my order. I still tipped...because it's the right thing to do. Poor service! Nice place though.

Great service, excellent food

By Julie E |

This is a new place. There were tons of waitstaff and people seemingly helping waitstaff. The food was excellent. I ate the fried cornmeal catfish, coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I would get that again, but without the coleslaw. My daughter enjoyed the salmon on a salad. My husband liked the beef pot roast, but would have liked more gravy with it. I'd definitely eat there again. My only problem was I use a walker due to surgery-- the kind with only 2 wheels. When we entered, my walker caught every carpet they had on the floor. It was a bit of a problem. Once we got to the front desk and they told me to follow them, I asked if she was going to take me on the shortest route to the table. She said yes. We walked left behind the desk to then to right to the furthest right room. Definitely it was not the shortest route, and there was another of those tripping-hazard rugs to trip up me and my walker. There was a clear route to the right in front of the desk, instead of to the left and all the way around the desk. Consider older people and people with crutches, walkers, etc. Sometimes we are doing good to make it the shortest distance possible.

Staff is the best, food is good

By fashionphotographer1 |

Right when you get there, the hostesses were awesome. We went on pj night so it was pretty funny. We had a huge group and our one waitress handled everything like a champ. We all got served our food pretty quickly. They'll ask you if you want cheese and bacon crumbs on stuff, say yes. Steak is very good, chicken fried steak is good, mac and cheese is good, even the chicken tenders are good. Try and save room for dessert, because they are worth it. If the food was "meh," I'd still go there for the staff. Love the staff. Even the bartender was great. We will be going back.

Just O.K.

By Rosario B |

This place was just O.K. The server we got was a young woman that had "attitude". When we asked to speak with a manager she brought another "young" person who told us he was an assistant and he seemed more concerned with his hostess opinion than ours. He was NOT our idea of a "people" person and was very defensive about any input we had to offer. When asked why this establishment didn't offer a particular brand of a locally popular beer, he made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about. I mean who hasn't heard of "Shiner beer"??? Duh. He even challenged my husband as to where this particular beer was produced. Basically, our dinner experience wruined by these two "inexperienced" youngsters! As for the food? No big whup. Just go to Chili's or Appleby's and get "nicer" service. Prices were higher here. We won't be going again and we have discouraged our family and friends from going there. Oh...and we eat out a lot. Too bad, for Aspen Creek Grill. I predict will be gone soon...

Great find

By David H |

My wife and I had not heard of this place, but found it on Trip Advisor and decided to give it a try. We are glad we did. We both ordered steaks which were cooked to perfection. On a whim, I decided to try the sweet potato casserole which was delicious as well. Service was very good. Our server was very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. Overall, it was a very positive dining experience and we plan to go back!

Duty Calls

By Anonymous G |

My first time there was less than exceptional. Our server, Christine had dirty hands, she was loud and my order was cold and looked like it was picked up from the floor. Quiet frankly someone in our party claimed that she is not suitable for a classy place. No reflection on Aspen Grill?

Tasty food!

By Linda W |

We didn't know the hours, but only had to wait outside for 10 minutes until they opened at 4 p.m. (it was a weekday). They seated us promptly and took orders for our drinks. DH ordered a larger steak than was on the menui, being a big steak guy...nice that they allowed that! And I ordered the blue cheese burger plate and asked to substitute a baked potato instead of the fries, which they agreed to. I have to say, the burger was double patty and tall...very delicious with the onion rings in it...all was very good! DH said the steak was perfect, fries were okay. Service was excellent. We will come back! Only thing that bothered us was the music...we didn't especially like it & too loud!

One of the best restaurants experience...and I'm a professional foodie!

By KristalChapko |

I had one of the best experiences in a restaurant, our first time in Aspen Creek in Bandera and 1604, we are foodies and eat out every day in all over USA and international, we decided to try this place and from the hostess they recommended items in the menu they were warm and welcoming young ladies, our service was outstanding, we order ribeye and the habanero hamburger also chips and queso one of the best with some spice to it, ordered was promptly and delicious American made from SCRATCH!!! With an amazing value, great atmosphere and the manager came over several times, wine was good with excellent price and I also had their signature whisky on an old fashioned, I will definitely recommend this place ❤️🤗👍🏼🍸🥂

Go anywhere else!,,,,,never again!

By Baybug2 |

My son and I tried it. It was awful food. The service was way below par. Our order was incorrect. The price was way over priced for what you got. Take heed——-run run run far away!

Place too Enjoy Good Food and Family

By philipp054 |

First visit and impressed with food, service and place. The food was prepared with care and seasoned to perfection. You will not be disappointed.

Was our favorite joint

By Brandon H |

My family was so stoked to go here when we did go out as a family. The buffalo chicken bites were incredible as well as the Lasagne and a few more dishes that now sadly, no longer exist. It was like every favorite that we individually sought as the main reason to eat here is now gone. Sadness about this place now because after realizing all our favorites no longer exist we have not gone back. Servers have always been awesome but you could tell they were not hearing "where are our favorites" for the first time. Why Aspen creek? WHYYYYY!

Aspen Creek Grill....A Favorite

By bettyloper |

From salads, sandwiches, to homestyle dinners, we have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, abundant, and reasonably priced. Service has been exceptional each of the numerous times we have visited. I highly recommend this restaurant. Even parking spaces are ample....I simply can't find anything negative to say!

Love This Place

By R P |

I love this place. I've been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I'm seriously waiting for them to mess up. But nope, every visit so far has been AWESOME!! My food is ALWAYS hot and the food tastes GREAT!!! We are having a going away dinner for work their on Friday! Can't Wait

Great food, Excellent Service

By Rodolfo I |

My food was delicious, the portion is good, I loved the Sweet potato I have never eaten some like that but I loved

second visit , better than the first

By martin c |

This time I went for the grilled pork chops with green beans and mashed potatoes on the side . The Boneless pork chops were cooked just right and had a nice smoky grilled flavor to them . They were also nice and juicy with a slight chili flavor to them . The green beans and the mashed were both a good sized portion. My wife had the chips and salsa and they were great as well . The service here was great on both visits and the food was great tasting also.

New American Food Restaurant

By Bob C |

We really enjoyed our first trip to Aspen Creek, 11719 Bandera Road, near 1604! The Call Ahead number (202-1888) works well and all personnel were very friendly and accommodating. It's a casual, but full service restaurant and bar; just right for San Antonio. The margaritas were certainly fresh squeezed. And the ribs, pot roast and tenderloin kebobs were excellent - made from scratch as advertised -- and portions include full take home boxes!. Desserts were calorific...and large! Service was also fine from the fully staffed crew! Only quibbles were the noise (stone floors and walls) and the size of the tables, but we talked to the manager about that! Try it, you'll like it!! ((OH, and there's a 30% military discount!)

Good and variety+great matgaritas

By Lindsay S |

Margaritas are housemade with no mixes; large and tasty! Lasagna is very good as was fish and chips. Ribs are super tender, falling off bone but too strong of flavor for this wuss. Pow wow shrimp appetizer was a favorite along with the special queso and chips.

ASPEN GRILL

By honeysucklelady |

Great food for the value dollar. Variety of full menu items Owner owned - no chain Has a bar Waitress was very helpful I had Chicken Fried Steak - delicious

It's a nice change.

By peelbuhg |

My husband and I have gone here a couple times. It's hard to explain, almost like they try too hard for what it is. We had the fried mushrooms for an appetizer (pretty good), but they look like they should be served at a more fancy venue. Overall I would recommend you try to see if it's your thing. I have only gotten a veggie plate - but let me insist you try their green chili cheese grits! I hate grits, but the manager brought me some to try and I was wow'ed!

Just gets better....

By Bob C |

Returned to this American fare newcomer to San Antonio. Found a larger table and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service was prompt and accurate. The fried mushroom appetizer is excellent...and plentiful. Margaritas were fresh...and cold. Main courses were tasty, sides were too...and we each took home enough for another meal! Try hit, you'll like it!!

Lunch at Aspen Creek San Antonio

By RayRam30 |

Excellent service. Excellent food. Wish their lunch menu had more seafood variety since we went on a Friday during Lent season. Lunch prices a little steep but the food was very good.

Must try.

By Nevo210 |

You have got to go to Aspen Creek San Antonio. I keep going back. I had the steak special today with the house salad and seasoned rice. It was so tender and juicy.

I was looking for something spectacular, but only the service was spectacular, not so much the food.

By Beach_Martha |

If you are going to do one thing right, it needs to be service, and they have nailed that. The server was so attentive without being a bug, and very conversational about the new place. I had shrimp and grits. The grits were great, but the shrimp tasted like they were from the bottom of the freezer. I realize you can't keep fresh shrimp on hand, but they would do better in buying a higher grade product from their supplier and charging a dollar more for the dish. The MonteCristo sandwich was nothing special at all. Actually kind of boring. Again...looking for spectacular. I want to go back when I am super hungry and dig into a big dish. We were just looking for a quick late dinner when we went last week, and left a little let down. The renovation in the inside is nothing short of spectacular though. The ambiance and decor was beautiful and fitting with their menu and service.

Good family food

By Family P |

Came with kids and friends for New Year's Eve dinner instead of waiting an hour at Saltgrass. Glad we did. Good food, good price for the quality of food. Chicken fried chicken was very good. Meat loaf was very good. Salmon was a bit dry but flavorful. My 8 year old gave his burger 5 out of 5 stars. We'll be back.

Usually Excellent, New Dish, not so much

We have eaten at the Grill a number of times and look forward to another visit soon. I do not recommend a new dish on their menu, specifically the brisket. They are not a BBQ place and the evidence was their BBQ Brisket. Tough, too salty, ordinary sauce probably out of a bottle. My Grilled Chicken salad was excellent and the brownie dessert very nice. We will be back soon.

Revisit

By L H |

We had dinner here recently and it was much more crowded than last time. The hostess seated us quickly and they have several different areas open for seating. They had added glass dividers on the backs of booths and still seating every other booth. But waiters not wearing gloves this time. They were clearing and sanitizing tables between customers. Also still have paper menus as well as being able to access the menu with your phone at the table. Our waiter was cordial but for some reason our entree was brought out before we received silverware, the appetizer or the bottle of wine. Then when he brought the wine he was trying to unscrew a corked bottle. We had to ask about the appetizer and also cheese topping since none was offered. Maybe he was new. He checked on us regularly though and the food was delicious. The Asiago Chicken Pasta was perfect ad the Pow Shrimp was as well. The sauce has a slight "kick" to it. The environment was noisy since we were in a small room and there was a group of 6 that was loud. The Coppola Diamond Merlot was nice as well. They still have special every day during the week and Wed. is half price bottles of wine and the Pow Shrimp is $5 with an entree order.

I mentioned it being quite warm but was told that they serve at room temperature. This is fine if the room temperature is appropriate for storing red wine. The fried shrimp was also delicious as was the Santa Fe Chicken plate. BUT all that had the coleslaw and seasoned fries agreed they could use improving. Both had no flavor as if the seasoning has been left out of a batch and the potatoes were soft and limp. The coleslaw was a nice consistency but no flavor. It would be nice if they used a bit larger bowl for coleslaw (same amount of slaw) so there is room to handle it as it was falling out of the bowl every time you tried to get some out. The portions were perfect for the pricing and we all left full. All in all we decided we would return in hopes that they figure out the lack of seasoning on the slaw and potatoes. We will also see if the service and friendliness continue once it is open for longer than a week

Perfect Blu Cheese Steaks! Great Bar Area & Service! Accommodates Severe Seafood/Fish Allergy

By mkh143ek7 |

Can't get enough of their melted Blue Cheese encrusted steak! Their Bloody Mary's are so yummy spicy (I asked for extra tomato juice that's infused with chipolte peppers). Their sides are delicious! Ernest was our server and he was excellent. Everyone, every time we go, is always so helpful, kind and gives excellent service! Thank YOU!

An exceptional varied menu, anyone should be able to find a meal they would enjoy. All of the staff, particularly Riley, was very helpful and courteous. Good food, the tortilla soup was well above standard but could have been a little warmer.

Return visit

By L H |

We met friends here recently for the Wednesday special with wine bottles half off and the Pow Wow Shrimp $6 when you order an entrée. They have daily specials but we enjoy this one. We ordered the shrimp, which is an appetizer but for a light eater is a meal. Also ordered the Grilled Fish Tacos ($11.99) which included three tacos and a small bowl of special corn. To go with this we ordered the Drumheller Merlot which is regularly $26 so half off on Wed. Our waiter Joshua was SUPER, very attentive, friendly, helpful and made the evening go smoothly. We all enjoyed our food and the wine and will definitely be back. All of the staff is friendly and helpful. There is also a full bar with seating and a bar area along with four other seating areas.

Closed for Lunch Except on Fridays/Weekends

By HappyPenny |

We had a family lunch at Aspen Creek Grill on a Friday afternoon. It seems odd to me that a restaurant would not want to open for lunch during the rest of the week - especially in this part of town, where lunchtime is cash time for local eateries. But Friday is the only weekday you can get lunch. We've been really anxious to try Aspen Grill. I must say, the service is excellent overall. The person who seated us was extremely unfriendly, but everybody else was great, from the waitress, to the busboy, to the manager who checked on us twice. The food? Well, it isn't bad, but it doesn't really stand out, either. On a scale of 1 to 10, it's strictly in the middle. The best-tasting thing we ate that day was an appetizer of friend pickles - thin, crisp, and delicious. Everything else was pretty average-tasting. Will we go back? Papa and Mama Bear are willing to give it another try; the Millenial Cubs in the family say they'll never go back.

Nice Time

By L H |

We met a group for Happy Hour and were seated once all arrived. They accommodated our seating away from the main area. Brooklyn was our waitress and she was efficient, even though not overly friendly, she did take care of all our requests. The daily specials are nice and the happy hour drink specials are numerous. About half of the group ordered the steak special (8 oz. Sirloin Choice Steak with two sides) $9.99 which was the Monday special. All that ordered it were very pleased with the meal and all left empty plates! The bacon chicken sandwich @ $10.99 was large and came with fries. It was delicious BUT the bun got soggy and started falling apart before I could finish the sandwich. The fries were perfect. The house Sycamore Chardonnay @ $4.00 a glass HH price was a good pour and enjoyed. The evening was very nice and Brooklyn handled the bills well at the conclusion. We will definitely return here as they do have a different special for each day and HH is a plus.

Our server, Sarah, exceeded our expectations and the food was OUTSTANDING!

By Ileana Munoz |

This was our 2nd visit to Aspen Creek. The first visit was great, so we decided to try it again and see if the great service and food was consistent. All I can say is that Sara was amazing, and her demeanor and service truly exceeded our expectations! This time my husband had the beef medallions with mashed potatoes and a Cesar salad. All I can say is that he ate all 9 oz of meat. I tried a bite and it was really tender and tasted great. He did leave a bit of his Cesar salad, but he ate the whole thing, and it was big! I had the lunch special, a house salad and 1/2 club sandwich. The salad was outstanding and fresh and the 1/2 had to be cut in 1/2 because it was big. I brought home the 1/4 I had left. I need to go back to Sarah's service, she did not allow our water or soft drink glasses get to 3/4, she just kept coming around to check on us and refilling our glasses. Amazing is all I can say! We will definitely be going back. I should have taken pictures, but I failed to do so. Next time I definitely will.

Great Family Dinner Spot

By bcofAL |

We dined here recently. Our server was friendly and attentive. All the food was excellent from the fried mushrooms, to the chili, to the steaks! Our daughter got the salmon dish and she loved it. Fair prices too. Beautiful atmosphere.

Great Service and food choices

By L H |

This is located in a busy area right off Loop 1604 on Bandera Rd. but we met friends here. We had only been there once when they first opened last year. We were seated promptly and our waitress came to the table immediately. The service was very good and all the orders were correct. The menu has lots of choices. We also noticed they have a happy hour which they didn't have when they initially opened. It looked to be some good choices as well and good hours. The food servings were generous and filling. The Grilled Chicken Salad was tasty and a good portion. The Aspen Grilled Chicken was good presentation and flavorful. The seasonal veggies were cooked just right. The only thing I didn't like were the mashed potatoes. If you happen to like as much peeling as potato then you might want to try them but I don't care for peel in my mashed potatoes so difficult to eat. I will try something different next time. We will have to go back and try the HH as we didn't have any appetizers this time and they are half price during HH if you sit in the bar area. We were all too full for dessert. The place is very clean and the noise level not bad. If you go before 6 they do have $8.99 entree choices as well. So again, lots of choices.

Good place

By Countrymanm414 |

I’ve only been to aspen creek once awhile back when they first opened. I didn’t care for it much then but now going back, it was pretty good. I only got a salad and baked potato - which was a little cold, but my husband and other friends got the chicken fried steak, which I just had to sample, was SOOOOO good! I should have gotten that! Waiter was nice and courteous, kind of busy too but did his best to show he was working hard for our business. Overall I would recommend this place.

Yummy

Great food & Helen ( bartender ) was really nice . I was craving fish & chips decided to give this place a go bc of so many of the good reviews . When I walked in the hostess & a couple of other employees greeted me . They were all very nice . The restaurant is extremely clean . I sat @ the bar w/ Helen . I ordered the fish & chips with macaroni and cheese. The fish was a beautiful golden brown as well as the fries . My macaroni & cheese was delightful . Helen was sweet ,personable & attentive . I will definitely go back . Give it a try

Good first visit... The bake potatoe soup was really good and the monte cristo sandwich was tasty. Lots of TV's around to watch the game as well.

This was the first time I’ve been here. We were celebrating a cousins birthday dinner. The server was good and very nice. The food was really tasty. I will visit this restaurant again. Great atmosphere.

Good Wednesday Deals

By L H |

We enjoy this restaurant and like to go on Wednesdays for their half price bottle wine and $6 Pow Wow Shrimp when entrée purchase. Friends met us here as they enjoy this as well. We were seated and waited on timely. The menu has lots of great choices and our orders were the Jambalaya Pasta ($13.99) and Pow Wow Shrimp which is a good serving as a meal rather than appetizer. The other couple ordered a 14 oz steak with sides. The Pasta was very mildly spicy and the steak was ordered medium rare but more rare. The Pow Wow was perfectly spiced, sometimes it can have a bit of a "bite" with the sauce on it but it was perfect this time. All of the food was enjoyed and a nice serving. The wine list was ample BUT for an early dinner, they were out of the first two choices of bottle wine in the Drumheller Merlot ($29) (which we always enjoy) and a Chardonnay ($29) they were also out of. We had to settle for the Ferrari-Carano Sauvignon Blanc $35 but half price of that for Wednesday special. It was a satisfactory choice. The noise level was not bad for the size of the place but they have six different seating areas with booth and table seating and that helps keep the noise volume down. We ALWAYS enjoy the food here. Our waitress seemed newer but was very nice and apologetic for the wine non availability. We definitely will return.

Great food

Good Lunch Choices -- Excellent Happy Hour

By FoxTravelers |

If going for 1st time --recommend sitting at bar (in bar area) and splitting the fried mushrooms or shrimp appetizers as half-price, large and good. Good selection of drinks as well. Had lunch today (party of 4) and three salad choices and steak sandwich which were all quite good and reasonable prices. Service fast. Again if you can swing a Happy Hour and like sitting at bar give it a try.....long hours for Happy Hour and great prices.

Great new restaurant

By Julie G |

We recently went to try out this new restaurant. Boy, am I glad we did. We had a party of 5. Everyone had something different to eat and we each loved our dinner. I had the catfish. It was delicious. It was golden fried, crispy but not greasy. Our waitress was phenomenal. The manager came to check on us and make sure our dinner was ok. Prices were reasonable. If you go in the evening I strongly suggest that you call ahead and put your name on the list. They don't take reservations but you can call ahead and put your nam on the list before you leave home. People were waiting 1 1/2 hrs the night we went but we only waited 20 min.

Great every time

Great food great service each time management and servicer great each time food great could've eaten there all the time but it long way from our houses

Comfortable diner

By jansonatrip |

Aspen creek offers a varied menu, something for everybody, but the quality of the food and service is what you would find in an average diner. Not much, if anything is fresh or prepared from scratch on site in the kitchen it seems, but rather looks and tastes like institutional food. The bar scene was loud, and I was there at off time (not happy hour). I guess this would be a good family restaurant - something for everybody - but I was not impressed.

Date night for my wife and I.

By Adventure208423 |

My wife ordered the Meatloff and I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken. It was burned. The crust was very dark and I tasted it and yes it was burned. The Manager was informed and she was asked for a second time. At which time my wife was done with her meal. The manager stated "they were busy and she was working as a server". She did offer to replace my dinner or take it off my bill. We excepted to have it taken off the bill.

Enjoyable Experience

By L H |

We had not been here since last year so stopped in for dinner during Happy Hour. They have daily specials and you can also take advantage of the Happy Hour specials. You can take advantage of HH either in the bar area or the dining room areas, which there are several separate areas. We started with Margaritas at $5 each and they were a large stemmed glass full. For our entrées we decided to get the Classic Grilled Chicken Salad ($12.99) and the Spicy Grilled Chicken Salad ($13.99). Both were a large portion and a good mixture of fresh toppings. Our waitress was Anna and she was very personable. This place is a favorite for consistently good food, service and it is convenient. The menu has an abundance of choices and we have tried different items and enjoyed them all. It was really busy but we were sat quickly and the noise level was not bad considering the amount of people. They have a full bar to quench any thirst.

Great Lunch Specials

By Gillum S |

They have a nice selection of lunch specials. My wife had the Hawaiian Chicken which she really enjoyed. I had the Meatloaf which is one of the best Meatloafs that I have ever had a restaurant.. The sides were excellent. I also added a salad which was very good. We also ordered dessert. If you like chocolate order the Chocolate Explosion as it will satisfy you desire for chocolate. Hayle was our server and she was great. This a very good place to go for a lunch that is filling and reasonable.

Good American cuisine

By LjGarcia |

We decided to try this place at the last minute and it turned out to be a good experience. We saw the menu online before so I knew all of us could find something we wanted. My son had the kids steak which he loved with macaroni. My wife had a steak which was pretty good and I had the chicken fried steak. Decent portions but I felt my macaroni could of been better. Maybe next time I will try a recommendation from our waiter who was fantastic. I was all set on what I wanted until he talked thru the menu and told us about some popular items. He was very helpful and provided excellent service for us. In fact, everyone was really nice here.

LOVED Excellent Food and Service

By Napunani |

Our first visit to Aspen Creek was on a Friday, arriving just prior to 6pm. We were seated immediately and our super friendly and fantastic server was Jennifer. She explained there was still an hour left for Happy Hour and that aspen-tizers were half off along with various drink specials. We were definitely off to a terrific start! During our dinner, three different servers stopped by our table to see if all was good along with the manager. Nice touch - don't usually get that much attention in most restaurants. LOVED the freshly squeezed margaritas on the rocks! LOVED the POW WOW SHRIMP aspen-tizer for half off happy hour special! It was exactly the same as BONEFISH Bang Bang Shrimp and RED LOBSTERS Sweet Chili Shrimp. For dinner I couldn't resist the baby back ribs ($15.99) which was exactly like the menu described...falling off the bone in a terrific BBQ sauce - VERY GOOD! About a dozen meaty ribs total. Entrée included two sides, so I selected sweet cream corn and green chili cheese grits. Corn was very good. Grits were OK - needed more cheese. Hubby selected the 12 oz ribeye steak ($18.99) that came with two sides. He declared the steak good. Strangely, there are only two desserts available, so we selected the fried cheesecake and it was uniquely good! We'll definitely be back for more of this good stuff!

Great New Restaurant

By Terry D |

My wife and I had dinner on a Friday night shortly after they opened. Was surprised how good it was for a chain restaurant. Nice bar and wine list. Great food at very reasonable prices all made fresh every day. Service was very good and attentive with the manager coming by several times to make sure we were happy with everything. They have huge portions so we took home enough for lunch the next day.

Pretty good!!!

good food and excellent service! Joshua is very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. Katrina was also an awesome server. Will return!

Aspen Creek

By Popsyckle |

You have got to try this place. The staff is great and sees to your needs. The food was phenomenal. I had there double-b brisket and Wow. I have never had oven cooked brisket taste so good and so tender. I did not use the sauce. My wife had their pow-wow shrimp and she really enjoyed it. They give you plenty to eat and the price is good. Our waitress was a young lady by the name of Monica and she was great. She smiles the whole time she was with us and took the time to explain some of the dishes. You have got to go and give it a try like we did. Friends told us about this place and we tried it. We will be going again and again.....

Scrumptious Food, Prompt Service, Delightful Attentive Waitstaff, and Reasonable Priced!

By David E |

Our first visit to Aspen Grill will not be our last! The service was amazing from the hostess to the waitress to the servers, and even someone who came by and gave us a special treat and a coupon because it was our first visit! Oh and then we ordered off the wonderful menu and were served promptly and every item was excellent. My wife, a picky eater, seldom finishes a meal and nearly always asks for a take home box, but she finished her complete Country fried steak and loaded mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and said even she was surprised at how much she ate! I know I was! Meanwhile, I had the sirloin steak special and it was tender and cooked to perfection just as I ordered it and the taste was wonderful. I savored each bite. It melted in my mouth and both my wife and I commented on how the tender beef. We grew up in grass feed beef country and have eaten at some of the finest steak house around and Aspen Grill bows to no one except you get to keep your wallet when you get to leave! My sides were more healthy and weren't fried and they so Aspen Grill knows how to please both types of pallets! My steamed broccoli was not overcooked like so many places and it had just a hint of flavor and it wasn't bacon fat or something unhealthy. Again it was an excellent choice. I did splurge and eat the sweet potato casserole and it was rich and heavenly. I loved it and am only grateful that it was not too large a serving! Oh and the bill made us smile too as we walked out after enjoying the wonderful meal, the delightful staff, the excellent and prompt service, and a perfect experience at Aspen Grill. It is worth the detour to the NW side of San Antonio for this place. We will make trip again!

Dinner after work - nothing to write home about!

By Karla K |

Aspen Creek is new to the area so we tried it on a Tuesday evening. NOISY - really noisy. Food was average - nothing bad but also nothing remarkable. Sweet potato casserole was sweet potatoes with a handful of marshmallows on top with half of them burned black. I had been hoping for more creativity! Potatoes were good beneath. Andres was a great server; informative, congenial and right on top of things! Managers - if you are going to have an informal meeting with 3 or 4 of you take it off the dining room floor and get out of the way of your servers. Too many other places in the area to settle for run of the mill food.

I would go again

By Krbfo |

I was seated quickly and warmly greeted. Helpful wait staff. Menu is moderately priced, good variety, lots of comfort food. I got pot roast. It was served quickly, was tasty and just the right temperature. It was similar to Mom's but maybe not quite as good as mine. It was a little fatty. The choice of background music left a bit to be desired- an old rocker might like it. Otherwise, atmosphere was nice.

Excellent service

By Julie E |

There was plenty of waitstaff around to ensure we were well attended. The food was all tasty, and served appropriately hot or cold. I'll go back again soon.

Not Impressed

By skm16521 |

Recently visited Aspen Grill for a family lunch. Music is great, but it was so loud it was hard to hold a conversation. Waitress was very attentive at first, but then rarely came by the table. Food was just OK. Our order was entered wrong & not delivered at the same time. Appetizer of fried pickle chips was so salty you couldn't eat them. Another of our party ordered ribs that were way over cooked & mashed potatoes were dry. One of our party asked for more tea & the waitress filled his glass with hot tea & no ice. Had to wait until she came back around to get ice. Can't say this is a place I will visit again.

Really like this place

By Pru |

Being new to the San Antonio area (Helotes), we wanted to find a good restaurant where we could find a variety of food, pleasant atmosphere, and good service. Aspen Creek has fit those specs every time. The service is always great with very friendly and knowledgeable servers. The prices are reasonable and the food wins every time. Our first time there I had the shrimp and grits and it was soooooo good. We have been there 3 or 4 times now and never had a bad meal.

Really busy this time

By L H |

We recently revisited this location, which is convenient at Bandera Rd. and 1604, and we enjoy their Wednesday specials of half price bottles of wine and the $5 POW WOW Shrimp. This was the busiest we have seen this location but we were able to be seated quickly with no wait and noticed most all of the tables in all of the different rooms were occupied. Our waitress Alexis was personable and accommodating. We ordered the Hawaiian Chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans ($12.99) and the Pow Wow Shrimp which is and appetizer but make a meal for a light eater. Both dishes were very good, fresh and at the right temperature except the green beans were a bit too softly cooked. The wine we chose was Coppola Diamond Merlot (Reg. $32) but half off on Wed. and we enjoyed this as well. The noise level was not to bad considering the place was pretty much full of people. Aspen Grill has different special every night during the week.

GREAT FOOD!

It was our first time there and Jennifer and Alli were great, the food was great too. It just had a fun vibe and I think we'll be back!!

New isn't always better

By cls78254 |

Visited this restaurant during the second week of operation. the first customers to arrive, they seated us in an out of the way corner...guess they didn't like how we looked. Waitress was fair, slow on refills...i had the tea, pitcher of tea was 15 feet away. Ordered the potato soup, arrived very spicy. when mentioned to manager, he stated the cooks mixed soup recipes. offered to provide us with bowls of a fresh batch of soup...never arrived. Main course arrived. small portions for the price. they do not serve bread. had to order small pieces of the toast they serve with Italian dishes. arrived cold and soggy. We will not be visiting this restaurant again. Can we have the Carino's restaurant back PLEASE?!?!

Better Training

By L H |

I have been wanting to try their HH for some time and finally was able to on a Wed. night. I sat in the bar specifically to get the HH pricing. The waitress was very nice and told me $5 Pow Wow Shrimp on Wed. and half price glasses of wine. But then had another waitress come over and told me bottles were 1/2 price. I asked about half price appetizers and showed her the print out I had from the internet indicated half price appetizers in the bar only plus some drink specials. BUT when I showed it to the waitress she wasn't familiar with it. So she sent over a manager and she said the happy hour was the same EXCEPT for the half price appetizers. I told her I had just printed this out last week and she indicated she wasn't familiar with the website. So after we ordered and received our food the original waitress came back and told us that the Pow Wow had to be ordered with an entree to get it for $5, which obviously she didn't realize originally. I advised her that you can't backtrack after receiving the food with the offer she initially told us. She looked puzzled. I really don't know what difference it made because we ordered another appetizer and would have gladly ordered an entree for almost the same price if she had told us correctly from the start. The Pow Wow Shrimp was a nice serving and well worth $5 and very tasty served on a bed of coleslaw and a spicy sauce. The artichoke dip and chips we ordered was standard but good. The place was not very crowded but started to fill up as it got later. When the waitress brought us the tab, I had to point out that she charged us full price for the Pow Wow Shrimp. It was then that she indicated she would pay the difference herself. Obviously she didn't want to tell the manager that she made the mistake. It just appeared to us that staff isn't totally aware of specials, manager isn't up on the website info and a lot of confusion. The bottle of wine we ordered the waitress told us that it is priced along side of the local grocery store but in reality it was priced much higher and half price brought it closer to but still over. Not sure we will return.

This is Southern Cooking

By Scotty456 |

If you want some lip smacking downhome cooking you need to try Aspen Creek Grill. The ribs are the best and they give you plenty of food to make your mouth water, just thinking about it and smelling the great aroma from the kitchen. Warning they are not cheap, so be prepared to pay a moderate price for those great eats.

Great Job Candice!

By TheMongooseIsLoose |

Went with a LARGE group of people and Candice did a great job of taking care of us. There were a couple of other wait staff helping but I did not get their names. They were great too. Everyone enjoyed their meals which came out of the kitchen at a reasonable time considering the number of folks we had. The servings were generous and the food quality very good. Folks having steaks indicated they were very good. They do have some lunch specials. Ask your server as it's not quite clear on the menu where they are. This was my first visit and would return based on the service, food quality/choices and value.

Disappointing First Visit

By JohnTSanAntone |

Service was not attentive with no server refilling our iced tea. Portions were generous but flavors were different than expected.

Slow service

By Daniel S |

We were seated quickly but after waiting 10 minutes, we finally grabbed a manager. He told us a server would be by quickly, which he was not. The Manger took our drink order, 2 draft beers and walked away. After 10 more minutes, we grabbed the manager again and he finally brought our beer. The food order was not much better. Had burgers, which were average. Definitely not worth the wait.

Great new Restaurant

By Terry D |

We tried this new restaurant the first week it opened knowing there could be opening week jitters but we found none. We got there at 6:00 and was told there would be a 10 to 15 minute wait for a table and I though sure I bet it is more like 30 minutes. Well we got seated in 10 minutes and that started our meal out right. The place inside is well decorated the bar and specialty drinks were fantastic and the food exceeded expectations. The wait staff were well trained for only being open a week. The manager came by several times to make sure we were happy. They have a fresh local market to table concept using local fresh ingredients and everything is made fresh everyday. The portions are huge and we took home enough food for lunch the next day. Prices are extremely reasonable for what you get.

EXCELLENT FOOD & SERVICE - Accommodated my severe Seafood & Fish Allergy

By mkh143ek7 |

WOW! I had the best steak in all of San Antonio and the price was on point, very affordable. Their melted blue cheese that crusts up a little is a wonderful addition. Their sides were also super yummy. I cannot wait to go back. I am most happy that they took the time to make sure that my food was not cross contaminated as my allergy is severe. Definitely a new fave spot to go! Lunch was quick! Joshua was an excellent server. Thank YOU!

Friday dinner

By Txlyn |

Three of us had dinner on a Friday night, definitely a sports bar atmosphere. Our entrees were catfish, filet & salmon. Sides were green beans, poblano grits & sweet potatoes. Grits were a little spicy, but good. We were satisfied with our food, just a little difficult to find parking & visit during dinner.

Poor management

By Laurence L |

Have been to this place before, good food. So we decided to have a family birthday celebration. Followed their request and called about 90 minutes early to get on their seating list and was told no problem for eleven. Got there and waited an hour after the time they had told us to show up. Their rationale was they only had one table they had assigned for that size group and the group in front of us had paid, but decided to sit there and talk for the next 45 minutes. Then we found out that part of that party worked there. We left, will probably ever go back even though their food was good. Went a few doors down instead.
