Amazing Greek Food!!!

By Christine C |

This is a little cafe not far from the Space Needle and the aptmosphere is great! My waitress was super friendly too!! Food is just amazing!!

Delicious food, friendly staff

By Philip C |

My wife and I were certainly glad that we decided to give the Athina Grill a try. She had lentil soup and pita and I had the Gyro dinnner. It was all delicious.

Good food, good aervoce

By LesleyGulledge |

I liked the falafel wrap I had and the plate of hummus/pita bread but it wasn't incredible. I would eat here again and try something new, though. It's within walking distance of the Seattle Center, a movie theater, and our hotel at the Mediterranean Inn.

OK Food, No Kids Menu, GREAT Tzatziki

By FlyingSux |

We arrived in Seattle late morning and were in the mood for Greek food. After searching through our options on TripAdvisor we decided to go with the Athina Grill. The first trouble we had was finding their hours. We arrived around 10:30 am and were unsure of their hours. A search of their website didn't show what hours they were open. I would have thought they would have it on their site, but didn't. However a call to them was answered before opening hours of 11am and we decided to try them out. We ate an early lunch, arriving at 11:30. The place was nice, clean and the staff very friendly. It's got a great feel to it. However we soon found out they they didn't have any "kids size" meals. When traveling with a 5 year old who is a spotty eater, kids sizes are important. We ended up getting a lamb burger for the kids and gyros for us. The lamb burgers were tasty, but could have had more flavor. Same for the gyros, we felt the meat could have had a lot more flavor. However the Tzatziki sauce was the BEST I've ever had. Very good!! Reading all the great reviews and considering this was a "one time drop in" it could have been that we just order weak dishes for the place. If we lived in Seattle we would definitely stop by again and give it a second chance by ordering some other foods.

Excellent food and service!

By TracyLK |

Athina Grill is a great place to go for Greek Food! The falafel was excellent! Service was friendly, quick, and helpful. The seating was open, comfortable, and the restaurant was clean and well maintained. I have nothing negative to say about the restaurant. You will have a difficult time finding parking on a busy weekend as the location is in Lower Queen Anne, but if you are spending a day at Seattle Center, it is an easy walk (5-10 minutes) to Athina Grill for lunch or dinner. I recommend going!

Attractive Decor. Tasty Food

By macgrift |

We have eaten a dinner and a lunch (same prices) at Athina before seeing movies at Uptown Cinema across the street. The interior sets a pleasant Greek outdoor terrace ambiance. The restaurant was not busy on either occasion. In fact, we were the only table occupants when seated. A few people dropped in to pick up take out food. We had attentive service for the dinner, but the food was so long in coming that we were nearly late for the movie. Today we were the first customers as the restaurant opened for lunch at 11. Our full dinners arrived in timely fashion, but the service was non-existent after the order was taken and served. Strangely, the lights were never turned on, so we ate in semi-darkness with daylight from the front window. Again, the food was tasty, though the lamb souvlaki was tough. We were not asked about the food until we had nearly finished--too late to comment about the lamb. The bill was delivered without offering dessert, which we would have ordered. When I mentioned this to the server, she smartly replied, "Why didn't you ask?" Well, she wasn't in the front of the house for most of our meal, except to deliver take outs. Perhaps there is just a staff of 2: the chef/cook and the server who does double duty in food prep? We'll give them one more try, based on the quality of the food.

Sorta Greek Food

By Brett C |

The restaurant wasn't busy on a Friday night, and the service was swift and efficient. However the food looked and tasted like stale-ish takeout, the meat was somewhat dry. The portions were large, and I thought good value.

Good but not authentic

By 🍁 |

We visited here recently whilst in Seattle and whilst there was nothing wrong with our meal, it was definitely not authentic Greek. The chicken from the souvlaki was nice and the spanokopita was nice but lacking in feta but the moussaka and tzatiki were nothing like authentic Greek. The tzatiki was more like sour cream than anything else. The price was really reasonable though.

Something different

By NoraWetzstein |

We had just gotten off the NCL Pearl cruise to Alaska and although the food on the cruise was amazing we wanted something different. Athina Grill was the perfect choice the food was excellent. We had a couple of appetizers, Gyro's with lamb and beef tzatziki & pita, Traditional Greek Salad and greek fries. Almost forgot desserts homemade Baklava skip the diet and enjoy it!.

Was expecting more...

By JohnnyI0695 |

While the inside of this restaurant is attractively decorated providing a nicer atmosphere, I wish I could get more excited about the food. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki meal. At other greek restaurants, this dish would have some sort of authentic spice or preparation to it. A taste that made you think "wow, I'm in Greece" or a taste that should separate it from your every day chicken dish. Sadly, Athina's version was nothing more than plain chicken on a skewer that I could have grilled at home myself. I do like plain chicken and did finish it, but I was hoping for a little more authenticity. On the plus side, the rice was fine and they were generous with the pita. The young lady taking orders was not exactly warm either. With no smile and barely an audible hello, it made me feel she was going through the motions and was bored out of her mind. While the food wasn't bad, I'm sorry to say I would not return to this restaurant.

good things come in small packages

By Michael C |

we found the restaurant a block from our hotel and found the staff and food a wonderful experience

Reminder of Greece

By Pfitzgerald1946 |

Four years ago I spent three weeks in Greece where I enjoyed the grilled lamb, the fresh fish and the flavorful salads. Yesterday I walked into this place And ordered for my lunch the village salad and a skewer of grilled lamb. It was so tasty that I returned for dinner last night. We had more lamb and several appetizers. Only the ovgolemono soup was a little disappointing. The Greek wine was $6/ glass and went perfectly with the meal. It was a feast for 2 for under $40.

Family Friendly Dinner Near Seattle Center

By Jenna R |

Traveling with two toddlers can be challenging. we came across this Greek restaurant when looking for places to dine near our hotel. It was tasty, inexpensive, and relatively quick. All are key components for us right now. Portions were fairly large and priced just right. I don't think anything was over $13.99. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Again, this is family friendly ethnic dining. We will be back.

one of the best local spots for pre-show dinner

By NWroamer11 |

I suppose it helps to love lamb, but there are chicken and beef options as well. My husband orders big chunks of lamb on skewers, which are amazingly not overdone - still moist and full of flavor. Served with a Greek Pea-tomato mixture whch tastes better than it sounds, rice, taziki sauce and pita. I order such a good salad, called Olympia, dressed lightly. It's a big green salad served with big chunks of tomatos, cucs, black olives feta, walnuts and BEETS! This may not sounds terrific but it is - refreshing yet satisfying, served with a vinegreet and pita corners. I add one skewer of lamb on top as a special treat. Our total bill is 25$, which for 2 peoples' dinners seems reasonable. consistent freindly service too.

Sooo delish

By Veronica M |

Everyone in my group had fish and chips. Buuut, since I'm allergic to seafood, I had a veggie wrap. THE best veggie wrap I have ever had. The market can be noisy and crowded but once you enter this place you can enjoy the view while having your meal. We sat upstairs. The service was excellent.

Try the grilled eggplant pita!

By seattle_ali |

I lived in the Queen Anne neighborhood for about five years, and Athina was one of my favorite restaurants. The prices are very reasonable, their fries are quite good (I'm a bit of a french fry aficionado), and the grilled eggplant pita with smoked mozzarella is delicious. My mouth is watering just thinking about it now. . . My husband and I usually ordered our meals takeout from Athina and the service was always quick and friendly. On the couple of occasions we dined in the restaurant we found the table service to be equally efficient and friendly. The location is fantastic. Situated right on Queen Anne Ave. it is perfectly suited for people watching. The bathroom is bright and clean. I once brought a Greek friend here and we sat at the window seats and dined and watched the world go by. He gave the restaurant a thumbs up, too! All in all it was always a pleasure enjoying food from the Athina. Now that we are living in Boston I have tried to find a restaurant that can compare, but so far have not had any luck. If you are visiting Seattle and you're in the area of the Space Needle, EMP, and Pacific Science Center definitely stop by the Athina.

Katie was amazing!

By Brenda O |

We were a group of 13 people and Katie was so accommodating! The food was scrumptious and quick and reasonably priced. Will highly recommend!

Absolutely delightful Greek food!

By Tina A |

We just happened upon this restaurant because it was close to our hotel, and boy did we get lucky! The moussaka was great, as was the spanokapita and the falafel; even the rice, the peas and the pita bread were exceptional!

Breakfast with a View

By ironheadvol |

When you are at Pike Place Market early visit Athina for breakfast. The service is liesurely, portions generous and view is killer. Take a newpaper, sip a bloody mary and enjoy the beginnings of another great Seattle day.

A wonderful Greek meal

By NJG15 |

We felt like a Greek meal and this was close to the MarQueen Hotel where we were staying. Very pleasantly surprised with a tasty meal and great atmosphere. The service was fantastic.

It saved me a trip to Greece )))

By Jenny R R |

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, friendly and professional staff.

Dinner

By Apsmelo |

Excelent!!! Delicious!!! The Greek salad is great and pitta giro too. Highly Recommend!! The people are very friendly!

great value

By anorth52 |

Excellent food and friendly service. I had a village salad, lamb souvlaki, fries and two beers and it was $26!!!

Good food at a great price

By indie609 |

Came across this restaurant by accident and glad that we did. We both ordered the moussaka with side salad which came with rice. When I said I didn't want rice with it, I was immediately offered extra vegetables. Plenty of food (more than we could manage) and at a reasonable price. The staff were very helpful and attentive without being 'in your face' and although not fancy, it's more than comfortable.

Best Greek Food Ever

By neuroshrink |

Really, this place rocked - the Greek salad was seasoned just perfectly, the wine was excellent (Greek Cabernet $5.50 a glass) the Gyro pita was excellent, the Lamb Skewers excellent. Probably the weakest dish we ordered was the pork loin -- it was tough -- but overall this was a great meal.

Good Meal

By Scott R |

Very Greek and loads of food. A group of 3 we ordered 3 shared starters, 1 shared side and 3 mains and had more food than we could eat. The starters (hummus, tsatziki and melitzanosalata (eggplant) plus freshly baked pita were excellent. Only negative is that a couple of the mains were over salty for our taste.

Great food, good value

By HElizabeth |

We decided to come here as we were staying nearby and fancied something different. Christy was our server and was super friendly. There was a good choice of authentic Greek dishes and our food was very tasty. The restaurant isn’t fancy but it does have good food at very reasonable prices. I would recommend for a nice, easy meal out.

Nice restarant

By DixieNetherlands |

Thanks to the reviews we ended in this restaurant, and we were happy. The tzatziki was great, my lam souvlaki and the mousaka my husband had were very nice! Service is very friendly.

Good Greek food

By mprica |

I went for lunch with a friend. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't seem that tempting but the interior makes you feel you are in Greece. I got tzaziki and a gyros pita, which were very good. The menu had a variety of greek specialties and greek beer. The prices are ok, the food came very quick and the service was very good.

Best Greek Food!

By A L |

They have some of the best Greek food that I've ever eaten.

Great Surprise

By teniseetraveler |

Happened upon this wonderful, small restaurant late one weeknight, and super glad we did. The menu selection is awesome, food was delicious, and service was great! My chicken souvlaka was the best! It was actually better than any I had in Greece! A Greek salad came with the meal for only $1.00, and it was not only huge but delicious! I will definitely return.

Have had better

By CeliaPR |

I had spanakopita served with plain rice and round green peas, which were not well seasoned and somewhat bland. The Greek salad was not fresh with wilted lettuce.

Dinner before Depeche Mode concert at Key Arena

By Avik C |

Found this place walking around Key Arena among bunch of other place. It seemed like a pretty popular hopping place because there was a bunch of people waiting for dinner. After we got our table it took them a while to get some water and get our menus to us. After several attempts to get their attention, we got them to take our order. We ordered what seemed like their “bread n butter” lamb and chicken Souvlaki with fries. My daughter ordered the Dolma plate with hummus. We got our food pretty quick and it tasted good but pretty average compared to other Greek food we have had in the past. Mediocre place; if you have to eat something go here but if you have other options go there. Nothing special here.

Great location, food is very good, service is also great!

By Craig H |

In a very good area. Service was outstanding. Food was very good. Lots of love goes into the entrees!

Good food, a bit short on atmosphere, service.

By Steven G |

I am not sure how it works for dinner, as I only had lunch there. You order from a counter, and the server brings you your food to the table. I would say my food, Gyro, was OK, nothing amazing, not bad, Prices were standard (HIGH) for a Gyro. What was lacking was any sort of personal service at all. Get your own water, etc. Greeks are know for being warm, and hospitable. So this place left me cold.

Excellent Greek food

By Adonaioc |

Fantastic the wife and I enjoyed it and utilized the free wifi

Overcooked Lamb

By Joe V. |

The Grill was conveniently located near our hotel and I like lamb. I prefer my lamb dishes to be less than well done; even a bit rare is preferable. However, I was surprised to find it overcooked. The service, however, was very good. The staff waitress (possibly one of the owners) was friendly and apologized. We ran into another couple from our trip to town via train and made the best of it.

My gosh the food

By Shawnna D |

so good, so very good!! Close to the Mediterranean Inn and the menu is perfection. Try Ya-Ya's veggies. So simple and so very good. Delightful place.

Comfort food in relaxed atmosphere

By MsRae28 |

I just wanted some regular food and a chance to relax. Athina Grill was the right choice. It is just down the street from the Mediterranean Inn and offered the a variety of comfort foods and classic drinks. I had the roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The meat was a little chewy but I must say it hit the spot. I had the biscuits and gravy for breakfast the next morning- very good. The service is friendly and efficient and the price is right. Definitely a go-to place when in Seattle.

Nice people

By Michael R |

But the staff was extremely accommodating and friendly; but the falafel was very dry. I should have had the lamb burger, that looked terrific.

A real disappointment

By Mike_W_Stock |

Remember it gets dark in Seattle around 10pm this time of year, so we ate late and got into bed fairly early. Possibly one of the only disappointing meal we had in Seattle in 17 meals. Lamb souvlaki ruined by overcooking, and the same with the pork gyro that Deanne ordered. Sad.. The salads and the dips were good, but store-bought pita bread and an uncaring cook ruined this meal for us.

Quick soup and carb...

By Havefunwilltravel816 |

I was taken to this place last week for a quick bite to eat -- as one does around noon time -- and was pleasantly surprised. You order at the counter, so it can be fast. If not Greek yourself, you will need to ask questions -- nothing is self-evident. I got a bowl of soup, flavored by lemon or lemon grass... I believe it was one of the soups of the day... accompanied by some slices of warm pita bread. The soup was hot and delicious. It filled a hole, with nary a very big dent in the wallet.

Greek Favorites

By beckeyb2014 |

Stopped into this local for a quick dinner before going to a concert at Key Arena. The wait staff was very friendly. They have all your Greek favorites at this location. I went with the classic Moussaka, something that I rarely get to eat, with a Greek salad on the side. It was very tasty. I saw the Baklava as I was going out the door and it took all my willpower to walk out without a bite. The only reason for not giving this a 5 star is that it is more of a "diner" atmosphere than "restaurant". If you are not picky about the décor and comfort, this is your place for Greek Food!

Great Greek Food

By Frank C |

When we're on vacation we can get very tired of pubs with their massive burgers and mountains of fries. It was up between a Mediterranean place close by and Athina. And Athina won! The spreads were delicious and most importantly they had red wine that wasn't a Pinot Noir! Sorry but we're Mediterranean and Athina was delicious and if I ever go back to Seattle I will go there.

Huge disappointment for gyro

By kmabello |

Chicken gyro was literally just grilled chicken breast on top of pita with a little dressing, and two slices of tomato. Most overpriced gyro I've had in my life. $10 for a very small meal.

Yummy

By Melissa S |

We had a late lunch on a weekday. Everything was hot, well made and tasty. The outside does not represent, as it was clean and seating was good. Staff was friendly and prices were good.

Great food!

By ad0517 |

Great affordable restaurant. Love the interior as well, you feel like you are in Greece. Tsatziki was great. I usually get the Greek salad with a side of the lemon soup. Yum.

Great Soup and Greek Salad, so-so other dishes

By MadisonGrog |

Loved the soups offered and the Greek salad was obviously made with excellent olive oil and vinegar. Yum. Our falafel and gyros were just OK. Not bad. Oddly enough, it was first gyros I ever had that came without enough onions!! The falafel balls were a little overcooked and soggy. Service was good and atmosphere OK.

Quaint little restaurant.

By Joel P |

We had an early dinner here as it was across from the theatre. I had the Pork Gyro with Greek fries, and wouldn't recommend the pork. I'd never seen it on a Greek menu before so I wanted to give it a try, it wasn't bad, just not better than chicken/beef/lamb. Also, I thought it was quite strange that they never asked us how our food was, until we were completely finished. We were one of only two tables so they surely had time to ask.

KALI OREXI

By Mavros66 |

a café with my mothers name MUST provide good food AND it didn't disappoint.. a good honest homestyle greek menu.. apart from the greek name cooked and served by friendly people with not a greek in sight ....but plenty of 60"s type SIRITAKI music to assist the eating experience.....VERY ENJOYABLE

Relaxed Atmosphere With Tasty Food

By lim48 |

My wife and I stopped in here for dinner before heading to the Stevie Wonder concert at Key Arena, just a few blocks away. We both love Greek food, so wanted to see how this place fared compared to other Greek food we've had over the years. We both chose the same "main course"...the very simple Greek staple...gyros. My side was Greek fries, while my wife stuck with regular fries. The gyros were really quite delicious, using meat (beef & lamb mix) carved from a real gyros vertical rotisserie in the kitchen. The pita bread was packed with meat and crammed with the customary onions, tomatoes and yogurt sauce. But the sauce had a very different flavor from other gyro sauces I've had. And if I figured it out correctly, it contained dill...a wonderful addition! Our fries were delicious (and I'm a French fry nut!)...shoestring potatoes cooked seriously crisp on the outside and creamy smooth on the inside. What made my fries Greek was the addition of lots of crumbled feta cheese and dried oregano. I loved them, but the oregano was either old or just not very flavorful. Oregano is a staple in Greek recipes, so I would have expected only the best, pungent oregano. My only complaint about the food? Really, really salty...and (good or bad) I'm a salt fiend and still found both the gyro and the fries to be too salty. We also had a glass each of Greek red wine at $7.00 a glass. Tasty, but nothing to write home about (as my mother used to say)...and I'm a long-time wine enthusiast. The service was fine, but slipped off a bit because it got really busy shortly after we arrived; more concert-goers I'd bet. Our server was a very friendly and attentive slender blond woman, whose name I don't recall. We'll likely return when in the area (we're from Bremerton, WA). Total of the bill including tip was $38.36. And by the way, Stevie Wonder was incredible! At one time there were 30+ pieces on stage, including either 6 or 13 backup singers (depending on the songs), brass section, string section, and guest star India Arie. If you're a fan and he comes to your town...don't miss it! He played for nearly four hours (with a short intermission)!

Great Neighborhood Spot

By Bobaloo071 |

After roughly 5 trips to Athina over the past year during trips to Seattle, I always want to come back. Athina is not a trendy restaurant, which I prefer. It is welcoming, the staff care about their customers, and the food is consistently good. From the appetizers to gyros and full plate dinners, I have yet to find fault with any of the dishes that I have ordered. Best of all, prices are reasonable and the owner is very appreciative of your business. Conversation is easy as the noise level is manageable.

Wonderful neighborhood eatery

By PAHJR |

Great afternoon lunch in the Queen Anne district. The eggplant and roasted red pepper pita sandwich was incredible. It's a Busy place and looking around the salads were also incredible.

Very average

By Rail33333 |

Ya you had it before. ok taste, ok price, very forgettable. Better food in the Armory at the Seattle Center.

Cute atmosphere, good appetizers

By vamsally |

The entree I got wasn't as exciting as the appetizer. We got sample of several dips and pita. I would probably just get all samples of appetizers when I go next.

Greek food at its best!

By Susan F |

Two visits, two home runs! Lemon rice soup is perfectly tart with yummy goodness! Spanakopita, gyro Greek salad to die for. Wonderful quaint family run restaurant with impressive menu options. Excellent portions. Luscious baklava!

Fell in love with both the food and the server

By Douglas L |

Hidden within the Queen Anne neighborhood this establishment called out to me when I had my hand on the door to enter a pizza place a couple of doors down. As a frequent tourist, I always try to eat in locally-owned and operated restaurants. My server was out of sight and I think her name was Suzie. Attentive, but not clingy and with a sense of humor. She adroitly handled the entire dining room and it was clear that she "got" what it takes to be server. I had a small greek salad (better than most) and the lamb souvlaki (don't tell my wife!). Uncharacteristically, I had a beer, too. Oh, and baklava for dessert. If you like Greek food (and why wouldn't you?) this place is sure to please.

Small quaint restaurant

By Norma M |

We were staying at the Mediterranean Inn down the street so I googled restaurants nearby and was thrilled to see a mom-pop style Greek restaurant only a block away. it did not disappoint. My companion was not very versed with Greek foods but was willing to try it. So glad the service and food did not disappoint her. We both had the pork gyros with a couple glasses of wine. I would have preferred a little more tang with the tzatziki but it was still good. Prices are great! We shared a piece of baklava. Nice meal.

Worst ever and not Greek

By Đ•Đ»Đ”ĐœĐ° Đą |

Absolutely horrible. It is even not close to Greek kitchen. I wish I can put -1. Meat is marinated wrong way, over cooked and dry, pita is not cooked, tzatziki sauce has from original one only color, fries like McDonald's (!!!) and like 10 hours old!!! And some strange small bowl with frozen peas and carrot boiled in tomato juice.

An Impromtu Visit for Lunch Was Welcoming and Delicious!

By AmericanGeorge |

The ''Uptown'' area of Seattle (aka Lower Queen Anne) offers a wide range of restaurants of various types, all within a short walking distance of each other. That explains why I had never ducked into the Athina Grill --- until yesterday. It opens at 11:00 AM. I was passing by and hungry at that time, and decided to give it a try. It was great! Polite service, delicious food, reasonable prices, a wide range of offerings, Nice decor and atmosphere. Really terrific. I plan to go back very soon. Can't wait!

FANTASTIC!!!!

By jpower1111 |

It was delicious and refreshing. We had the Horiatiki (Village) Salad, and it did not disappoint. Will be a must from now on!

Good Greek salad and hummus

By smilinggrace |

My friend and I stopped for a later meal. The village salad was just right with added beets and walnuts. The hummus was very flavourful. And the tomato soup was hardy. The pita was warm and soft. We both enjoyed our choices and plan to go back to try some other items.

Montezuma's Revenge in Washington State

By EveyJ2014 |

Very rarely does this vegetarian have effects such as what was suffered after dining at this restaurant. Falafel made with fava and garbanzo beans had a different but palatable taste. Never again. The other diner ordered a dish made with chicken and there were no subsequent intestinal problem. Never again.

Still great!

By WorldD_TRaveler789 |

I haven't been to Athina for some time, but it still has great food. The terokafteri spread is quite yummy and comes with pita triangles for dipping. Plenty of food and good value, nice clean atmosphere.

Great Chicken Souvlaki Pita

By bbsumler |

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and had a great sandwich, salad and beer and truly enjoyed the experience. The sauce was wonderful and the chicken well-seasoned.

Really good food!

By Angel R |

Nothing fancy, but the food is really delicious and for Seattle, very reasonable! We had the “messe” and all of the spreads were amazing and the hot pita bread fresh , delicious and plenty! Service was impeccable and the staff very gracious! For the money.....it is a hidden gem!

Best Greek in Seattle

By CH200 |

I lived in Greece long enough to thoroughly fall in love with the food and am always on the lookout for a fix. Athina Grill is the most authentic I've found in Seattle - tasty, good quality ingredients, and a good selection. You also can't beat the friendly service, reasonable prices, and great neighborhood vibe.

Great food and great service- a good value.

By mom3boyzzz |

The food was very tasty, the portions were large, the prices were reasonable. The service was fast and very pleasant. The Greek music playing in the background added to the ambiance- a nice touch. Even the anise mints (for after the meal) toped off a good meal. We had gyros on a Greek salad and moussaka. We had to take some home- we could not finish it all event hough we were both hungry. We went on a Sunday afternoon, 2 other couples were in the restaurant and they seemed to be enjoying their meals.

Good food on Queen Anne Ave

By shebee12 |

Visiting Seattle after being on a cruise for a week we wanted some "ethnic" food. We settled on Greek as it was near our hotel and was recommended to us. The hostess/waitress was not really enthusiastic about her job and perhaps it was because it wasn't very busy. We did find the preparation of the foods we chose to be very nice and tasted authentic. The melitzansalata spread(eggplant) was tasty and served with nice pita. The Menu is really very extensive for such a small place and we noticed that they must do a good business in family take-out orders as well. We selected the Falafel dinner which was served with rice,Yia Yia's veggies(looked like peas) and pita along with a Horiatiki salad. We found the portions to be good size and were glad we split the meal. Oh, we enjoyed a piece of the homemade baklava to end the meal and it was delicious.

Good little spot for great Greek Food, but don't have high expectations

By Michael R |

Very good food, but don't set your expectations high for service or stellar ambiance. It is a basic experience, more in-line with a lunch spot rather than a romanitc dinner. That being said, the food is outstanding. Good portions, and the waitress was helpful.

Delicious gyros and spanikopita with a nice open-air locale

By Happyfoodlover |

Gyros, spanikopita, and baklava were delicious. Greek salad was so-so due to under ripe tomatoes. But the feta was high-quality and the pita very good.

Excellent Chicken Souvlaki

By Nicole S |

The meals were huge and a great price. Be prepared to leave full or plan to share a plate. But, the souvlaki platter was delicious. And it was on special that night!

Great Greek Salads & Morr

By Lillian Silja B |

Having previously visited Greece, I was eager to try the Athina Grill which was just 1/2 block from our hotel (same block as Dick's, Mercer Cafe, and Pagliacci's). The eatery was decorated to look "Greek" with several photos of Santorini, Mykonos, etc. Greek music was playing. One can eat there or have take out. The menu was surprisingly varied with appetizers, soups, salads, pitas, and 10 different entrees. For dessert there was baklava (even one covered in chocolate), rice pudding, and yogurt with honey. Along with the regular beverage choices, there were Greek wines and beers. We each had a very tasty Greek salad and pork souvlaki, but if we are able to return, we'll try the mousses or the stuffed lamb along with one of their good salads.

Great Food and Huge Portions

By picc_2 |

Great clean restaurant, great selection of authentic Greek food, and HUGE portions! Also you can eat outside and people watch. Just a block away from one of the hotels we stayed at, the Mediterranean Inn (great hotel).

Delicious and great value!

By toffeegirlie |

We visited here during our 2 day stay in Seattle. We had hummus and soup for starter, chicken and lamb pittas with fried each for main, and an alcoholic drink each all for $40. It was yummy and our waitress was so nice! Recommend for anyone in the uptown area!

Great view and Awesome food!

By 1230GerryP |

We stopped in for a late lunch after roaming the waterfront and we where so glad we did! We had the lunch special...swordfish and the halibut.... wow! It was cooked perfectly and delicious! Highly recommend stopping in! You won’t be disappointed!

Great, simple, affordable

By bernardg1 |

Nice place. No frills, charming decor. Great value. Greek yogurt with dill is superb. As is the lamb. Will definitely return!

Late Lunch

By Holly M |

My girlfriend and I arrived in Seattle and we walked from the Queen Anne area looking for a place for late lunch. We stumbled on the Athina. I had an eggplant gyro which was delicious! Service was good.

A tasty hole in the wall

By Loren778899 |

If you are wandering in Queen Anne you cannot go wrong with stopping in for a bite of Tzatziki, Moussaka, and Baklava along with your favorite beer. This place will fill you up with tasty treats.

Best Greek food in Seattle

By Janet C |

I'm embarrassed by how many times I have eaten here! I was staying in the Queen Anne area for a few days, and I found this restaurant on the first day. I must have gone back for at least one meal every day. Their salads and gyros are perfect. The desert really hits the spot. Their food is so good that it has inspired me to take a trip to Greece to continue on my epicurious adventure. If you love Greek food, don't miss this restaurant!

If this is the new IN place, I'm out.

By Ric Hollis |

Wow! Forget this restaurant unless you don't care what you eat. Waitress couldn't have had any training which goes along with the "couldn't care" attitude of the managers. I didn't look to see if any of the workers looked Greek but shame on him if any was. The hummus looked like catfood and I can't describe the taste. They'd be better off buying it at the local food store rather than making it themselves. I had the gyros dinner. I figured they couldn't mess that one up. Wrong. The meat was dry and tasteless. Most of my tablemates only ate enough to get through the night.

Busy, busy, busy

The place was very busy at lunch time. Immediate service if you sit at the counter. It was comfortable and quick. The food was good. The fish and chips were very good.

Quaint Restaurant with Nice Atmosphere

Sorry to say that the food was not very good. Average at best. Fries were tasty, but the Gyro was less than tasty. Too bad: Nice location and decor!

Great tsaziki

By Ann B |

The tsaziki and hummus was very good, in fact one of the best tsazikis I have had outside Greece. Mousaka was also good, Souvlaki ok, Gyros was rather dry and tasteless, maybe because it was nearly closingtime? Reasonable price and big portions, friendly service.

Fantastic inexpensive food!! Must try...

Love this place! This is a regular restaurant for my husband and I too frequent. It never disappoints. We love all the dishes we've tried including some of their appetizers. Best of all, it's an inexpensive night out for two. Just about $35 including tip for two meals, appetizer and a couple of sodas. It can get crowded at dinner time, so go early or a little later to make sure you get a table. After dinner you can try out the cinema across the street. They also do take out. They give you a lot of food and we usually have leftovers, so bring your appetite.

Yummy comfort food

The gyros were fresh and tasty. We could modify the basic sandwich as desired (my daughter likes to add feta and lettuce to her gyro). The fries are crispy and the service good.

A lovely surprise

We found ourselves in Seattle for an overnight stay, and after looking at several expensive choices in the area, we decided to try the Athina Grill. It's a family-owned restaurant, very nicely decorated, with a whole wall seemingly transported from a Greek village. The food was plentiful and very good. I had the Lamb Souvlaki, which was perfectly cooked. It was served with masses of warm home-made pita, flavorful rice and a delicious mixture of home-made vegetables. My companion ate the Gyro Dinner Plate which was much more than one person can eat. That was reported to be excellent as well. The service was delightful and the price reasonable. All-in-all, a very nice meal.

A Fine Neighborhood Bistro, With Tasty Food and Fast Service

By PilotMike2009 |

Looking for a quick lunch on Queen Anne hill, we popped into the Athina Grill and we're very glad we did. It's a small restaurant — maybe 10-12 tables? — and it's great for people-watching because the big windows overlook all the busy traffic on the avenue. As with so many greek restaurants, the color theme is Santorini blue and white; you'll notice the big blue sign over the street as you arrive. Good fun. We ordered a mix of hummus, tzatziki, salads, grilled chicken in a pita wrap and other delectables. I think this tzatziki is the closest to the real authentic Greek flavor I have found outside of Athens. I mean, the hummus is very good, and the feta and olive salad was tasty, but the tzatziki with pita bread as a dipper was really delectable. The service was fast, the iced tea was crisp and cool, the prices reasonable — the entire experience was exactly what we were hoping for. When I return to Queen Anne, I'll return to the Athina Grill.

Tasty and great portions

I had the Olympic Salad with falafel, which was a beet salad and falafel. Hearty portions and great service. I'd definitely go back.

terrific lamb skewers & salads

By NWroamer11 |

This is the new IN spot on Queen Anne before an event. maybe 20 tables, low lighting (but sufficient). Always 2 or 3 specials, one a greek salad with walnuts and lamb skewers that is excellent. Full meals are a bargain with veggies. All the lamb is good, including the stuffed lamb burger and the skewers. Salads are big enough for 2 people. small wine and beer menu. Nice bathrooms. Calm place with good food.

Terrific breakfast spot!

A local spot for breakfast. The menu includes anything you'd like, the food comes quickly, and is quite good.

Found this our first night in town. I liked the Greek salad and husband ordered gyros which were different than expected-ingredients on a plate and you put it together yourself. Waitress forgot part of our order. She’d only been on the job a few days and seemed to be the only one there. Good thing they weren’t super busy. The baklava was tasty.

Very authentic

Great little find on Queen Anne. The service was wonderful and the food tasted just like what I had in Greece. Portion sizes were great and the prices were very reasonable.

Good restaurant

Great restaurant, why we got charged $1.00 for tiny loaf of bread is beyond me.

Boring Greek salad, overdone lamb, indifferent servicd

By Wave R |

Very disappointing. We thought we’d try this on our way to the PNB, but we won’t be coming back. This place gets a surprising amount of business given the food quality. My husband pointed out that even though the menu listed kalamata olives, his salad lacked them. He said the dressing was even boring. He was almost finished with his salad before the server came back to check on us. She brought some olives at our request, and quickly, but we’d almost finished anyway. My rice was bland, and the lamb was very overdone.

Awesome

Great atmosphere, great people and great floor what more can you ask for? The "small" Greek salad is a full plate. That combined with my dinner was a food overload. Would definitely go back

Greek food and plenty of it

Restaurant serves traditional Greek cuisine, which is one of my favorites. Portions are more than ample, service is prompt and unobtrusive. It's not expensive.

Greek in Seattle

By SReiter45 |

Had the choice of many - 20+ restaurants within 3 blocks of my hotel and dropped into this place. Having awoken at3:45 AM on east coast I got to restaurant at 5:30 and no one else there, but gave it a shot. No disappointed from the time the receptionist/waitress greeted me - she was attentive, friendly and helpful. The meal -Lamb Souvlaki was very tasty, the hummus excellent and the price very reasonably
