The was simply the best Mexican menu and food execution that I’ve had in a long time. We shared entrees and all 5 we excellent.

We dined at ATX Cocina two nights in a row because it’s so good. The first night we dined in the dining room and the second night in the bar for happy hour. On night one we were promptly seated at a nice table with comfortable couches. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere with just the right amount of noise. Open concept kitchen is neat. Our server Jamie was incredible. She was so friendly and made wonderful suggestions with drinks and food choices. We had the guacamole, Brussels sprouts, Caesar salad and the short rib. All were absolutely amazing. The margaritas were fantastic as well. Undoubtedly, the beat meal we had in Austin. Jamie suggested we try their happy hour one evening as they have items on that menu that you can’t get in the dining room. Happy hour is only available in the bar and on their awesome patio. On night two we sat at a comfortable table in the bar. Rick was our server and he too did a great job. They obviously stress the importance of great customer service in ATX Cocina and it shows. We ate many of the same things because they were so good the first time. You have to try their guacamole and Caesar salad, it’s the best we’ve had. We also had a few of the items that are only on the happy hour menu. The chicken tinga tacos and tamale were delicious as well. I can’t rave enough about this restaurant. I highly recommend you go when you’re in Austin.

I visited for dinner on a trip to Austin from New Orleans, and I was blown away by every dish - bone-in ribeye steak slow cooked to perfection, swordfish, chicken, the freshest corn and guacamole - everything was phenomenal. We ordered family style, and the flavors, presentation, atmosphere and service were all top notch. I don't get a lot of Mexican cuisine in New Orleans - certainly no high-end Mexican - so I wasn't really sure what my experience would be. ATX Cocina was phenomenal and exceeded my every expectation. I would go back here in a heartbeat!

Last week, our extended family of 5 went to downtown Austin to this restaurant for Mexican food. We made reservations and then went at the appointed hour. The restaurant was buzzing. Fernando was our server and he did an outstanding job of explaining dishes that we could have that were vegetarian and a fish dish for two of us. In all we had margarita, and pina colada for drinks; enfrijolada, tetela (really good), betabels (chilly hot but very good), burrata y fresa and a whole roasted fish. The ambience was great, and the service was very good. Fernando patiently explained the menu items to us and took good care of us through our visit. All in all, a good experience eating in downtown restaurant.

We chose ATX Cocina for a group dinner. It's a very nice, elegant restaurant, with lots of outdoor seating. The vibe was great and the food was amazing. Not your usual Mexican fare. I particularly enjoyed the lamb. The servers were also very helpful with recommendations. However, it is fairly expensive for what you get. If you don't mind the bill, this is a really good place to go to.

See 6 July comments on Hostesses ... costing this place business, virtually same experience. But doe eyed 5 and 3 year olds broke the code to get seated. On the food side Weston got us going. First tasty Chicken Tacos scarfed by the kids followed by ubiquitous quesadillas. Great start. Next, were shared Empanadas with a Jalopena/onion salsa, followed by Fire Roasted chicken with fried onions and Jalopenas and Shrimp Carbon with mild heat. Both Excellent. Margaritas were ok but their grapefruit Margarita was very well balanced and worth a try. Go for the food, make a reservation, leave the kids home.

Very cool vibe. Service was excellent. Started with hamachi and it was delicious. We did the short ribs for 2. It was so tasty and fall off the bone. My husband liked the corn side. Drinks were good- house margarita were very tasty.

We are here for dinner and the servers were attentive in this large space near the lake. Nothing life changing but all carefully prepared and presented. Would definitely go back if occasion arose. The corn side was excellent.

My girlfriends and I loved ATX Cocina, just loved it. Food was off the charts (notable: hibiscus tacos; beef short rib). The ATX margarita was honestly the best one I’ve had... anywhere. Atmosphere is sleek and modern, the acoustics are excellent (no shouting needed), and the space is very open/clean.

Love the food and drinks here. The atun and short ribs are particular favorites but we also love the salsa tasting, the tomahawk and the hamachi. Service is always good and the atmosphere is lively. We have been back 5 times and will continue to make ATX Cocina our first stop in Austin.

Been here several times. New addition to our recommended list when friends and family visit. Fun atmosphere and good people watching. Huge fan of the branzino dish. Came out with a new Vera Cruz steak preparation and were initially concerned but think we ended up like even more than before!

Atx Covina is absolutely delicious! We made reservations on open table and they called the morning of to verify our reservations. We arrived early and had drinks at the bar which were delicious! The Paloma was on the happy hour menu and were quite tasty. Margaritas were enjoyed by the others and were equally tasty. After being escorted to our table our waiter was on point and quite helpful in navigating the menu. We shared the appetizers of the guacamole which had a nice twist by adding basil and garlic and the queso fundido which was awesome! For our entrees the table shared the short ribs and carne asada which were both equally delicious and plenty for four of us. The service was on point and the food was great . We will be back !

Eating here reminded me of Capital Grille - decent, engineered food that is way over priced. Look, it's Austin and you can find awesome food on nearly every block. This place seems to be the hangout for guys (mostly) at conventions. And the food just wasn't that great. The service, though, was awesome. I'm pretty sure our waiter could cook every item on the menu. We asked for his suggestions, did them all, and were pleased we did. But $230 for two people who only had two drinks each is really pricey in my book. And it wasn't that good. The prices at this place outpace El Naranjo (Rainey Street) that is legit awesome Mexican. The food was all good, but it didn't have a lot of soul.

OK, it's fun, trendy and looks sleek. Thank god we ordered enough apps to feed an army, the food itself took forever. A 3 hour dinner without dessert - enough time for some to go through 4 martinis, but who's counting. A large part, they didn't get the seating right. We improvised and some more or less stood, milling around the central core. That actually worked out OK. Food varied and got general raves, but more authentic flavors came from the taco spot at the airport (quite good) - at least as far as the carne asada went anyway. The whole fish was appreciated. Expense account picked up the tab, but I might balk at the entrée pricing personally.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening out at Atx Cocina and here's why: The Margaritas were sensational! Service was the absolute best and the Manager even dropped past to check on us. The food from house made guacamole and chips to snapper ceviche to corn, queso and chicken was delicious, with immaculate presentation. The atmosphere was positively buzzing. All the aesthetics of the restaurant were in perfect sync with the magnificent experience. We loved it and would go back in a heartbeat!

Slick modern decor. Very tasty! Fundido was rich and tasty, Ceviche-style borracho snapper was excellent. Very nice choice of tequilas which is a must for a Mexican restaurant. A little too many questions from the waiters but I suppose they try to give good service.

I live in Austin and have dined here 5 times. Love it. Fantastic food. Best Guacamole ever- think gourmet guacamole. All dishes are fantastic.

Amazing food and drinks. The steak took too long so they comped our meal without us even asking. Go to this restaurant, they'll treat you right and you won't regret it.

We wanted good food and good margaritas. We were not disappointed with either at this spot. A good server is key in order to help with the menu. Summer was fabulous. Not only giving us good descriptions of the dishes but also recommendations. She did not steer us wrong. We had four appetizers for two couples and we were stuffed. Need to go back next time to try the whole fish and other entrees that sounded awesome. Highly recommend!

I can’t believe this place isn’t further up the ratings. We had an amazing meal here, service & advice on dishes superb. We started with the sope dish - amazing. Then the duck dish which came with 4 corn tacos. Finally we had the shrimp dish & corn. OMG, all food amazing, on the hot side for me but so tasty. We had a bottle of California Sauvignon Blanc which was lovely, all wine a little pricey as this was 55$ but overall bill @ 155$ was god value. Highly recommend.

The food is true Mexican with some suprising inspirations. Tasty and quickly served. The host and the service were attentive and charming. Nevertheless if you're going for a date or a romantic dinner it certainly is to crowded and loud for that.

We were there on a Friday night which may have added to the noise level, but I don't think this restaurant is ever quiet enough to have easy conversation. The happy hour drinks were acceptable, but nothing special. The menu has its own code, so we had to ask a waiter to decode everything for us. We tried the guacamole and the salsa sampler. Both were ok, but didn't come with enough chips & tortillas. It was sad that we had to ask for more chips to finish our appetizer - there should have been enough to begin with. We had a chicken entree which was the most tender and moist chicken I have ever had at a restaurant. Best ever. We also tried the brussel sprouts, which were tasty, but unsubstantial since the leaves were individually off the sprout. Our waiter was good. I just wouldn't come here again because it was hard to have a conversation over the noisy room and I feel it was overpriced.

This is an incredibly popular/busy restaurant. We went with a business group of 28 and were sat at 3 tables. Ours was right in front of the kitchen, so you can't forget us, right? But they did. After 2 hours, while our other 2 tables were leaving, we realized that not everyone was waiting like us and our organizer complained. After 15 more mins, they sent out some tiny dips/crackers and a fish main course dish. No one ordered fish, it was super random. When our orders finally arrived, the server acted like our table had done something really wrong. He was incredibly short, obviously upset with us. I assume someone yelled at him, but it wasn't us. We just sat there patiently for hours thinking everyone's service must be this slow as it was so busy. The guac appetizer was delicious. The brisket good, the shrimp dish was 3 normal sized shrimp doused in a sauce so hot (and I love hot) that you couldn't taste the shrimp at all. No sides and the presentation was sloppy. The checks were separate (told to the server at the outset), but he was super put out when reminded and actually asked a few of us to combine. Incredible.... The Manager did not stop by and NO discount was applied to the bills. I guess that lousy fish dish shared by the 8 of us was supposed to cover the mistake. Honestly, we are a great natured group of 8 and did not complain about being forgotten. The complaints all the way back to our hotels were about the incredible way that our waiter acted like WE had done something wrong and we should have demanded a discount from management. The apps were $12+, drinks $11+ and dinners were $32-$36. Obviously will never return.

I love the food, seating and service. Parking is terrible because it’s located in downtown Austin. They typically have valet parking but have gotten rid of that service since COVID. Masks are required to get in and walk around at least in June 2020. They also cut their menu in half and changed the offerings. Pre COVID my favorite dish was the sea bass served whole on a banana leaf. They don’t have it on the menu anymore. I ordered the mahi-mahi with a cilantro sauce on lemon wrapped in banana leaf. It was served with a tomato sauce with green olives and basil rice. The fish was moist and tasty. Combined well with sauce. We also got the octopus and shrimp, guacamole and green salsa tapas. I could have had the octopus dish as my dinner. It was my favorite dish tonight. Everything is gluten free. Their chips were outstanding! Great place for large groups, date night or business dinner. I highly recommend this place. You can’t go wrong with anything you order.

I want to share my deep dissatisfaction with the recent visit to your establishment. We asked the waiter for suggestions, who responded bluntly that the place “didn't have Tex-Mex.” His attitude from that moment until we left was extremely unpleasant. We understand that each restaurant has its own culinary approach, but the lack of professionalism and unwelcoming attitude of the staff left a lot to be desired. We were looking to enjoy the authenticity of Mexican food, but instead, we were met with a negative experience. In addition, they offered us water for the baby in a glass that left a lot to be desired in terms of hygiene and presentation. When asking the waiter if they had another glass, the response was rude and unprofessional. The combination of the lack of courtesy in care and the lack of consideration regarding service to a young child left an extremely negative impression. We hope you take these reviews seriously and work to improve staff attitude and quality of service to prevent other customers from facing the same disappointment as us.

My partner and I visited ATX Cocina on our trip to Austin for a weekend getaway. We are use to great food in Los Angeles and had no expectations before visiting— we also had no idea what to expect. First off— our server Taylor set the bar SO high for other servers. She was a complete delight. She has worked at the restaurant for 5-6 years, was patient with us, listened so well, and educated us completely about both food and drinks. We found our favorite margs, and the best sides/apps, and completed our evening without even tapping into the entrees. The portions of the sides were unreal (highly recommend the creamy corn and Brussels). Chips and salsa were killer (not on the menu), and we also ordered the Sopes (hard to describe but unbelievably flavorful pork/bean stuffed taco shells), and the Machete (chicken stuffed quesadilla). Also highly recommend the ATX marg, and the house marg— spicy and skinny. 10/10 experience. 10/10 food. And man— 11/10 service. Round of applause for Taylor!!!

Great margaritas. I like the outdoor seating. indoor bar is very large and the windows let the sun in which is very nice. great location next to Northshore downtown. on the lake. Gourmet dishes and the only certified gluten free kitchen in Austin! I had their quesadilla which was great!

Went on a Sunday the last night in Austin for us. Had a great experience. Great server. Very knowledgeable. All dishes were awesome. The halibut was not as hot as it should be but very well cooked.

Went at 8pm on a Wednesday night. Packed. Really good, upscale vibe. A bit noisy, but ok. The food was really really good. Our favorite were the duck wings prepared in a very unique and tasty manner with the meat falling off the bones.

High end mexican food. We had a wonderful meal here. Our server David was very knowledgeable and very professional. He had some great suggestions. (Felt like it was pre-covid, when you had great service.) We enjoyed the octopus appetizer. It was so flavorful! The carne asada was absolutely delicious. The salmon tacos were so good too. I think whatever dish you choose you won’t be disappointed. I only wish we were here another night so that we could go back. It was quite packed for a Monday night. They must be doing something right!

We made reservation for 6:15 pm for patio. We enjoyed happy hour priced queso fundido, pork tacos, 2 beers and 2 margaritas for total tab $72 including tip. The entrees appear to be pricey. Service was exceptional, food came out quickly, and the patio was lovely. We will go again.

This tamale is the most incredible thing I ever ate in Austin. The margaritas and all cocktails are fabulous here too. Chips aren't my favorite.

Hopping bar scene and great drinks - beautifully designed space. Food was stellar. I definitely would go there again on our next trip to Austin.

Honestly the food was good the presentation was pretty. Chips salsa not on point nor that good. Chips too goofy and thick. Salsa too hot. Loved the short ribs , loved the crudo. Would go back

The last adventure in Austin was to ATX Cocina. ATX is a modern Mexican fare including seafood & mezcal & tequila cocktails anchor this upscale eatery. We started with Tamal. This was served with acorn squash masa, seared calabacita, cilantro yogurt, farm greens and salsa macha. The masa had a sweetness and was exceptionally light, while the vegetables were tender with a crunch. The crema was flavorful, bright, and fresh and added a needed cooling note. The heat level of the dish was right up to the edge of being too spicy but did not go over. Next, we tried Sopes. This dish had cochinita pibil, smoked beans, xni-pec, and salsa verde. The meat was dry and overcooked but offered good flavor. The smoked bean flavor comes through and builds the saltiness. The jalapeno and pickled onion provided a much-needed vinegar punch. The fried masa had a great crunch. The salsa verde gave the bite a citrus punch. We decided to try the Queso Fundido. This dish had brisket, queso mixto, rajas, and pickled chili. The blue corn tortillas were fresh and full of great flavor. The brisket was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The cheese melted wonderfully, giving good stretch and chew to the dish, while the pickled chilies and onions offered texture and a crunch. The sauce, possibly tomatillo, with the juice from the brisket adds the needed moisture and another level of flavor to the bite. My one knock is that the dish was very salty. My wife and I split the Crab Relleno as our entrée. It was made with smoked honey cornbread stuffed Anaheim, jumbo lump blue crab, charred tomatillo sugo, and tamarind. My wife said it best. “Everything is light and delicate yet intense at the same time.” The butter-poached crab had just enough flavor to stand out with a light sweetness. The honey cornbread gave the dish texture and a punch in the mouth of sweetness. The pepper was tender but had a crunch, good chew and taste. The charred tomatillo was smokey, acidic, and slightly bitter to offset the sweetness. The tamarind was tangy and tart. ATX Cocina serves beer and wine and has a full bar. The wait staff was pleasant and knowledgeable about their menu. ATX offers indoor and outdoor seating. The Fat Man says that ATX Cocina is Fat Man Approved with 2 chins.

Definitely book if heading here for dinner, it’s very popular - even early in the week. The food is all very well presented, and full of fresh flavours. The pork was perfectly tender! Did take a little while for the mains to come out, however I think the kitchen was super busy

I was looking for Tex Mex and this restaurant was recommended Incredible food, the shrimp dish was best I ever had. Highly recommend.

Had an early evening dinner and was blown away by the experience. The food was out of this world and the service was the best. Our server was very engaging and helpful with our food selections. Everyone went away very satisfied and looking forward to our next visit back.

An explosion of Mexican flavor—muy rico! No need to order the plates as an assortment of small plates suffice to delight—shrimp and octopus cocktail, eggplant samosas and a fabulous brisket con queso. Highly recommend.

At the recommendation of bartender where we stayed. Not worth the money very over priced and not authentic. Do not recommend. Very disappointed.

Took Mrs. T to ATX Cocina on San Antonio St. for an anniversary dinner. While there are plenty good eats to choose from in Austin, this was by far the most impressive we’ve tried. We showed up without a reservation, but their gracious hosts found a way to accommodate our special evening. ATX Cocina would be described best as modern-mexican cuisine. They’re also 100% gluten-free. Ask them to explain how they pull it off. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Food was really amazing. Their Sopes Masa and Baja Bass is highly recommended, following some tasty crafted cocktails. Their restaurant is quite large and includes at least 2 bar/seating areas and a large patio. We’ll be heading back there soon - this time with a reservation. Thanks to the whole staff for making this anniversary dinner AMAZING.

I decided to come here as reviews were good and highly recommended. Flying solo this evening, I decided to sit at the bar. ATX offers a comfortable environment for all. I ordered the short rib. It came out in les than 5 minutes, which was astounding! Flavor and mix of fat with spice was a nice combination. A little fatty, but good overall. Next, I ordered the empanadas. Very untraditional from a layman’s perspective, but very good. Giving it a 4 because it was good, but not overwhelming.

Great food, mostly shared items, were creative and tasty. Very youthful (20 and 30-somethings should try a Friday night!), we ended up eating at the bar because we could tell it was going to take longer than we were told. Specialty drinks are great and wonderful bartenders. Go for the bar but then stay for the food.

We have eaten out at most of all the great restaurants in Austin, including Atx several times. We decided to try outside. It was noisy, smelly of a sewer, and our service was poor. Our guests did not enjoy themselves as we sat too long to be served and being outside next to the noisy 4 lane highway not good for conversation. Add the walk by hundreds of tents along the sidewalks and we think, not again for a long time.

This is perhaps one of the finest dining experiences we had in Austin. The food and drinks were exceptional. Highly suggest the brussel sprout even if you have a diversion to 'em. This dish is different and delicious.

First, our dishes were served undercooked without anyone even asking for our preferred doneness. Then they came back overcooked, with literally burnt vegetables on the side! And one of the dishes was returned in a smaller portion. When I told the manager that it was my birthday dinner and how upsetting it was to face such a situation, she just said “OK” and NO apology offered. I later contacted them hoping to hear at least “sorry for your ruined dinner on your special day with your family,” but they haven’t responded at all. Instead of making things right, they simply ignore customers.

Looking for a date night or with a group of friends to fine dine, ATX Cocina is a great place to be. Located in the south end of downtown the restaurant has both upscale and vibrant mood for anyone who like fresh seafood and delicious steaks. The seafood appetizers are fresh and with choice of snapper and halibut. There are plenty of main dishes that is designed for two people to share. We had the roast chicken which is perfectly cooked and the 30 oz ribeye that melts in your mouth. The inside bar and sitting areas are plush but can be pretty noisy on the weekends. If weather permits the outside sitting area is the place to be. With booths and elevated seating you have commanding view of the patio and the restaurant. The specialty drinks are carefully made and can say enough about the friendly staff who greets you with a big smile and received thanks as we walk out the door. We will definitely be returning but remember to dress up to impress.

This upmarket modern Mexican restaurant is totally gluten-free: the kitchen and ALL menu choices. The food was exciting and new and there are lots of small bites to savor and enjoy, while maintaining the Mexican influence and tradition. It was delicious and the staff were all knowledgeable and attentive. Brilliant evening

A great open concept, modern kitchen. A unique experience, unlike any other Mexican I’ve had. Empanadas were very good, house made, blue corn, creamy filling. The corn dish was excellent, tasted like corn off the cob, fresh. Beef short ribs another excellent choice. We ordered 4 or 5 dishes to share between 9 of us. We were definitely full! A reservation is a must. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. Offering up places in Austin not to miss. As a gift from our friends they preordered our table two bottles of champagne, it seemed a bit confusing initially, but the manager was immediately on top of it!

Had several courses here. It's a great take on 'traditional' interior Mexican with an upscale vibe. Great, mescal-based cocktail menu. They make their own masa for the tortillas which is also good. Loved it. I gave it 4* vs. 5 because I don't feel like the price is worth the upscale Mexican restaurant vibe. If you aren't a Texan, I think this may be the place for you. Mexican food ELEVATED! But for local Tex-Mex folks, you may be disappointed that you spent so much for a nice upscale Mexican food meal.

We heard great things so went to check it out. The appetizers were amazing. Get the guacamole, queso and both crudo & tostadas. The waitress was very knowledgeable. Everything was gluten free. We had a looonnnnnggg wait for our main dishes. We told the manager and he totally took care of us. wink wink. We will for SURE be back Bravo.

We are not sure what ATX Cucina wants to be.There are issues with both the food and the service.First, the service; pleasant, willing staff but delivery of dishes leaves a lot to be desired."Yes, you can bring the 6 dishes we ordered in any order" does not mean"let's have all 6 dishes at the same time".Now the food; guacamole and queso both bland, request for salsa results in more bland options.Blue crab crudo OK but snapper crudo lacking in flavor, citrus dressing with little in the way of a "punch".Oxtail quesadillas good.Given how the food was served, we were out of there in 45 minutes, having walked past two women at reception who were busy chatting rather than interacting with guests. So in summary, go if you want a trendy vibe, adequate food and ok service at relatively high prices. If you want sophisticated Mexican food or even Tex Mex, go elsewhere.Disappointing.If the target market is Conventioneers, we get it.Otherwise,we don't

I had heard so many good reviews that I must admit I was a little disappointed in the food. Had the guacamole which was good, but a bit too spicy for me and I didn't like the unusual masa chips. The shrimp and short ribs were good but not outstanding. The margaritas were good and so was the service.

ATX Cocina's menu is built for family style sharing. We thoroughly enjoyed the borracho snapper crudo, guacamole and the beef entree (with serrano salsa, smoked bean, macha aioli and queso anejo). Definitely order the esquites as a side (sweet butter poached corn, smoked aioli, queso fresco, lime and cilantro) - it's packed with flavor and one of the best corn dishes you'll have. The margaritas are excellent - we all enjoyed the De La Casa version. Prices are reasonable ($14 to $19) for most dishes, the service excellent and the dining room modern, bright and comfortable.

This was simply fantastic! We shared a bunch of dishes among our group and not a single one was a disappointment! Also the whole menu is gluten free and they are very accommodating with other dietary needs.

Sat at the bar for quick dinner - the scene was lively and entertaining. Maybe the best quesadilla I've ever had, tortilla was so good.

I had always wanted to go to this place and finally made it on a recent trip. The food was quite good and the setting and ambiance very fun. We sat at the bar which had plenty of space. We ordered the porterhouse lamb dish and the duck carnitas, both were simply great and very picturesque too for those of you who love taking foodie photos. The food was served by a kitchen manger to our place at the bar which is a nice touch. The bartenders can tend to be overworked and distracted so this was a welcome touch. I did love my meal, it was everything I had hoped for in terms of high end great food in Austin. Well worth seeking out for sure, a short walk from the JW Marriott off of second.

After a little hiccup last week due to a misunderstanding, my husband and I returned to ATX Cocina last night for dinner. We are so very glad we did as the experience was superb. We’ve been holidaying in Austin for 12 days and have frequented at least as many dining venues during that time. Not only was the contemporary Mexican cuisine absolutely first class but the cocktails were the best we’ve experienced anywhere in Austin. On top of that, the service is excellent and genuine. We’d like to thank Logan who served us so well last night and also the lovely young lady who served us last week and whom we had the pleasure to talk to again during last night’s visit (sorry we didn’t pick up your name). We originally chose ATX Cocina due to its fabulous reviews on Tripadvisor. We now know why it is so highly rated, so much so that we’ve booked to return again tonight on the last night of our holiday. Many thanks to Logan for securing a table for us in an unsurprisingly fully booked restaurant. Of all the places we’ve eaten, ATX Cocina ranks equal first with one other we’ve loved whilst being here. Just go, you won’t regret it.

Awesome service. Really attentive and accommodating. The food is delicious. Be sure to have the guacamole. We liked it so much we ordered more. Shared everything and it was all good. Fun place, good food.

Everything excellent from drinks to service and food. Had the ATX margarita x spicy. The octopus and chorizo amazing, as well as the lobster pozole and short ribs. Flan ok (too dense for my taste). Impeccable service but not pretentious, very friendly, including the manager and all servers. 100% reccomended.

We didn’t have reservations on a Saturday night but they were able to accommodate us at the bar. We had the tacos arabes and atun as appetizers. Both were delicious but we loved the smokey/hot flavors in the atun. We shared brussels sprouts and the barbacoa for our entree. Absolutely outstanding! We will be back the next time we are in Austin.

A fun dinner. I was there for the second time, this time with my wife and son. The Fundido was luscious, as usual, with fresh tortillas to scoop up the aromatic cheese. We followed that with the Hamachi Collar which was cooked to perfection. We did not leave a morsel on the bones. The Caesar salad was a delightful surprise with just the right amount of creaminess and lemon to balance the dish. My Chile Roasted Chicken was brined and coated beautifully and finally roasted to perfection. I am a dark meat fan but the breast meat was so moist and flavorful that I ate every bite. Again, a fun evening with great food in a new go-to restaurant.

The food is delicious. The service is good. The ambiance is lovely. No complaints except price - wow!! I’m from NYC and was surprised by the prices. Tip: ask what the mkt rate is before ordering.

We had the guacamole which was served in a fresh way with peppers that gave it the right amount of heat. Not served with chip but with long strips of a cracker/shell that was unusual and delicious. I heard the guy next to us order extra tortilla shells, so I did to (not that they were needed). They were some type of corn that was made on site and incredible. I had the beef dish that melted in my mouth. Definitely worth a trip.

ATX has a very hip and lively atmosphere. It’s also a bit loud but that’s mostly from the large number of patrons. Our group had the queso appetizer plus guacamole and the amazing hamachi crudo. Then for entrees we shared the whole branzino - they cut the body into two filets with different delicious preparations. We also shared the short rib of barbacoa beef (it was tender and really well seasoned) and the chili roasted chicken with white mole sauce (incredible). It has valet parking on the side and is right in central Austin not far from the major hotels and UT and the Capitol.

Had a wonderful evening here. The space is great. The servers were happy, helpful, attentive to all. Shout out to Katie. Delicious, fresh food with excellent combinations of flavors - the hamachi in coconut leche de Tigre with papaya; the sopas; tender duck carnitas; amazing corn tortillas; simple but flavorful guacamole. Definitely a place for dinner when in Austin.

Had Saturday night reservations last week and had Loren as our server and Matt, the sommelier, kept the juice flowing. We were a party of 8 and the restaurant was packed but our service never missed a beat. These people were on their game and the night had great flow. Some of the standouts were the hamachi, swordfish, short ribs, lamb (although I thought the large chunks were a little clunky) and a simple corn tortilla - but elevated. Crazy good. Our party had a blast within our group, the staff and fellow diners throughout the entire night. I will definitely be back. And, I hope the inventor next to us found the right group to market his invention.

You need a sense of adventure to really enjoy ATX Cocina. We were caught a bit by surprise that the menu switched from what we saw on the website to our visit (think it rolled over at the start of the week). Normally not a problem, but for our GF kid ... it is a bit distruptive. No matter, the changes worked out all to the good. Our favorite selections were off the masa menu as well as the chicken entree. Our less adventuresome youngest was not as thrilled, but her palette is a work in progress. We knew ATX Cocina would be a stretch but it was worth it. Don't expect to see many (any) other kids on a typical weeknight.

A group of us were there after a work meeting. Food was very unique, some very spicy but still good. Our table was a bit small for the size of group and the dishes we ordered to share, but our server was very gracious. Would go again when a couple of us visit again!

Finding true upscale Mexican restaurants is not East to find when traveling. ATX Cocina was a wonderful experience. The setting fo the restaurant is beautiful.,The outdoor dining area is covered by a large tree,It was a relatively cool night for Austin so outdoor dining was a treat,.Our server for the 7 of us was Bridget. Bridget was extremely attentive and has a great personality. The starters and main course were fantastic. Extremely well prepared. ATX Cocina will definitely be on my list for dinner when I make another trip to Austin. The hanger steak (carne asada) was extremely tender and prepared the way I ordered it. Amazing prime short rib of beef.

My first time visiting was on a Saturday night. It was a very lively and engaging atmosphere. I had an attentive server who provided helpful descriptions. I tried the salsa tasting flight, tacos de flor, and hamachi crudo. All contained interesting flavor combinations and just a small amount of heat. The signature cocktail was delicious and complimented the food nicely.

There were eight of us and although we all enjoyed the food very much, our waiter was eccentric. He started by spending far too much time explaining the menu and the "theory of the restaurant." Then after explaining that he was unable to find the bartender he brought cocktails for some of our group, but never asked the rest of us. Instead he brought wine which was preceded by another needless seminar from the waiter. When the dual set of appetizers arrived, they were set up at one end of the table, leaving the rest of group anxious to share. Despite orders for individual salads, the waiter said he'd bring them for the table, and no amount of explaining to the waiter when he was taking the order that we wanted individual salads would dissuade him from doing what he wanted. Everyone enjoyed the meal but it would have been better if we all got to dine at around the same time.

This is a great new hot spot in Austin brought to you by the men that created Eddie V's, Roaring Fork and many others. The restaurant design is beautiful and unique, and the menu is outstanding with a variety of options.

Visited with colleagues while in Austin for a conference. This place was superb, the service was first class, the food absolutely astounding, and the beer on point. Our table shared some appetisers, the guacamole was simply the best I have ever had, excellent texture, and the chips were fantastic too. For my main I had the lamb al carbon and it was perfection, gloriously rare in the middle, served with beans and a lime cilantro yoghurt (if I remember rightly). Overall I would recommend this place wholeheartedly.

This seems to a new "IT restaurant - always busy! Well located on the river (but on the other side of the road), good energetic vibe. All the food we had was good but the servers are a little snotty.

This is a crowd pleaser for the younger set. Very attractive but sadly, very loud. Great tequila selections and fun bar scene. Hamachi and all of the crudo selections are very good. Guacamole good but not that great. The very large house made chips are also a bit difficult to navigate. Go for the scene and not so much the food.

I’ve been looking for the best tacos in Austin and the family recommended ATX. The atmosphere was great, family lovely, and food decent. I HIGHLY recommend anything they make including chicken - that was the best chicken I’ve had in my life…

Once we walked inside and felt the vibe, saw the decor and heard the music...we were hooked. We sat at the bar and the ATX margarita was perfect. Big and strong enough to share, with clean fresh lime flavor. We then took a seat at a table by the windows and ordered the salsa sampler and guacamole. Both were great. We like the chunky salsa that was hot with chili oil in it the best. We shared the chat (fish). The entire fish was served and the fillets were prepared two ways and off the bone, yet we were also able to eat the gills...a delicacy rarely served. A signature item is their fresh and homemade corn chips and blue tortillas. Both were great. We are picky and it was top notch, atmosphere, drinks, service, and the food!

Fantastic food and service. Fresh, modern decor and ambiance. Not too pretentious. Our server Logan made our night enjoyable. Duck tacos, guacamole, borracho fish appetizer and the roasted corn side were amazing! House margaritas were strong and not overly sweet. Perfect way to start 36 hours in Austin. As previous reviewers have said, this is not the place to go for happy hour prices, but we had a fun night, amazing food - well worth it.

When we entered and asked for a table for four we were told that it would be a 2 to 3 hour wait. We were a disappointed and did not have time to wait. We walked outside, sat on a bench thinking where to go next. Then my daughter jumped on Open Table and reserved a table in just 15 minutes. You should have seen the hostesses faces when we told them we just reserved a table. We were not the only people told the wait was long. I watched about 5 parties walk in and then out. The food was very good but the portions are small so order extras. I forgot the young mans name that was our server but he did a fantastic job. Would go back.

Interesting place with a menu full of interesting shareable dishes and we had a bunch - empanadas, guacamole, queso, hamachi and papaya, duck carnitas, shrimp, carne asada and corn with a queso sauce followed by some type of chocolate cake dessert. Lots of interesting and tasty choices. Quite an interesting menu of cocktails, tequila (2 pages) and mezcal choices as well. The place was packed on a busy Saturday night. Interesting interior design surrounded by great picture windows on two sides. Definitely worth a try. Only small complaint - the carne asada may have been a little over cooked for my taste. Nice place for couples or groups.

Can't say enough good things about this hoppin' restaurant. Incredible duck confit tacos, magical guac (a special dry seasoning on top) and killer carne asada. Huge portions, built to share. Attentive service and all around worth multiple visits to this spot!

My family visited Austin in October and had a wonderful experience. By far, our favorite experience and restaurant were ATX Cocina. As a family, we were riding scooters, trying to find a restaurant all over Austin. We looked at Google reviews and were trying to choose the best restaurant for all of us. We went to four different restaurants, and either they were closed (although it was posted, they were open) or not appropriate for our son. Then we came across ATX Cocina after the fourth restaurant letting us down. I called to ensure they were open and would seat us. The lady who answered the phone said, we will make it work. They were packed. She set us up by the chef cooking and asked if this would work. We did not mind because we were hungry and tired. :) To us, this was the best seat in town. We hit the goldmine! Taylor (an amazing lady who was the waitress) walked up and was extremely helpful and friendly. She recommended wines and dishes. Chef John heard us and asked if we were open to trying new things. YES! YES! The appetizers he made were off the charts....even our son tried the sushi. :) We stayed for several hours. When we were leaving, we thanked Taylor and John for the most phenomenal experience. I started asking Taylor about Austin and how she got here, etc. She shared her story and mentioned her birthday. WE HAVE THE SAME BIRTHDAY! The cherry on top. Thank you, ATX Cocina, for the best restaurant experience. You all deserve recognition not only for the food, service, and friendly team!

Best Mexican ever. Chicken mole and Brussel sprouts amazing. Great venue and service. Great atmosphere. Attentive staff

Great spot for dining inside or out. All of our dishes were tasty and full of fresh flavorful ingredients. There is a large collection of Mezcals available and several dishes make use of their flavors. The service was spot on and helpful with the large array of choices. Definitely would return on our next trip to Austin.

Wow. So roasted Brussels sprouts, green mole and green chorizo. It’s supposed to be an app. I made it my meal. Totally awesome spot with lots of great options. A bit pricey on the meats.

High end modern Mexican, many large groups, and people dressed . Be sure and have a reservation. We had an Oregon pinot , guac and burrata apps..then the crab tostada and short rib. Enjoyed orange flavored flan w fruit.everything delicious, perfect sized portions and lovely atmosphere . Will be back

From the start, I was blown away by the hospitality of the FOH staff. Our server was very friendly, knowledgable, and patient. The hostess was prompt and accommodating. The food was outstanding. Between 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, 3 sides, and 2 desserts, there is a lot of room for error. That being said every thing that hit the table was delicious. I hope I have a chance to go back soon.

Emilio was a fantastic waiter. We went with all of his recommendations. The brussel sprouts are to die for. The chicken was the most flavorful, tender chicken we've ever had. Delicious cocktails also! 5 stars. We will be back on our next trip to Austin!

Nice restaurant ambiance wise. We only had appetizers but they were delicious. What stuck us the instant we walked in was the NOISE level. Every voice and clatter of dishes or cutlery echoes harshly and guests are really packed in. Our server had to shout at us. We had to shout at each other to be heard across the table. Which is exactly what every other guest was doing. It was nearly unbearable and we left after appetizers.

If you are looking for a traditional Mexican meal, ATX Cocina is not for you. The dishes are modern Mexican and miss a lot of the flavor known in Mexican cuisine. I ate here on a recent trip to Austin after hearing all the buzz about it and overall it was disappointing. The location is great and the restaurant itself is beautiful, very modern with a hipster buzz but wait time and menu are a total miss. We ordered the Guacamole which honestly was very basic, nothing special about it. And the "crisps" it gets served with totally miss the mark on chips and guac. Not worth it at all. We also ordered the Jumbo Crab Lump Tostadas and I was totally unimpressed. It was bland and lacked any flavor. The Hamachi was the only dish we ordered that I did like. It had flavor and was absolutely delicious. Drinks were not good and overpriced. Lastly, everything took forever and it was so cold inside the restaurant. I would not recommend.

What a great find! We absolutely loved this place. Strongly recommend going with a group so you can try a lot of different dishes. Guacamole was excellent as was the fish collar. The duck tacos were amazing, and the carne asada was my favorite. Service was excellent, and the drinks were strong and delicious. We’ll be back!

I was in Austin last weekend for a concert. I picked ATX Cocina as I wanted to do a 'Mexican' type restaurant one night. I think this place is fairly new. First, the decor is inside is very open and hip....cool vibe. We ended up sitting outside, as I originally had a 7:30pm reservation, but we decided we wanted to try and see the bats the night of my reservation, so I called and pushed it out until 8:45pm....which meant we could only sit outside. Their outside space is nice. Our server was very delightful - I wish I could remember his name and I would give him a shout out. Very attentive and gave us great direction. Now the food -- there was three of us - we started with the guac and chips - they make the chips in-house and they are like something I have never had...so good! We then shared the burrata and heirloom tomatoes, duck tacos, short ribs and street corn. All was really good - duck tacos, short ribs and corn was probably my favorites and of course, the fresh tortillas made in-house are worth a trip back.

The food was absolutely fantastic. Starting with the corn tortillas and salsas and guacamole, proceeding with hamachi, the entree’s were fabulous. Bone in ribeye, adobo lamb, and shrimp al carbon with sides of sweet corn and Brussel sprouts made for a perfect selection. CAVEAT: To go along with the hipster bar scene, the restaurant is extremely loud - so loud our server had to lean into the table to hear us order. If you want a nice dinner conversation, you may wish to try an off hour or off night. Also, the menu is expensive and the wine list very high end. Thoroughly loved the food, thus my high rating.

I have been here about 4 times already, every single time the food has been EXCELLENT and the service friendly and good. Keep up with the delicious food!!!!

This place was highly recommended. Couldn't get a reservation. Tried through the hotel and on our own. We walked over a little after 6 on a Saturday nite. They sat us & said they needed the table back at 7:45. We were so happy. Well, we were done eating at 6:45. They brought out all 4 things we ordered at once. The waiter was trying to get us to order another dish. Good thing we didn't. There wasn't enough room on the table. It should have been 1 dish at a time as it was on the table next to us w/4 people. We were 2. Dinner was $250 w/a $75 bottle of wine. Very expensive for a rushed nite. Average food and below average service. Wouldn't go back.

Super fun spot and great food with great service. You easily get from Happy Hour to staying all evening as it is just fun and the ambiance is great.

We were given a recommendation and so glad we took that one. Every dish we had got better as the night went on. When the server recommended the Caesar salad and queso fundido, we thought how different could this be from any other we’ve had but wow, they were delicious. We also enjoyed the different flavor of the carne asada as well as the sweet corn and Brussels sprouts. It was the best meal Tex mex meal we had during our trip and glad we started off the weekend here.

We were visiting friends in Austin. We made Saturday night reservations. The entire restaurant is Gluten-Free! The four of us enjoyed every single bite! Started out with guacamole & Fundito. I had the short ribs and the flavor was ridiculous and just melted in my mouth! My husband had the lamb, friends had the duck & shrimp. We shared the dessert chocolate with vanilla ice cream WOW! Logan was fantastic server! And stoked to know the Foles own this restaurant (Philadelphia Eagles fan)

Excellent Service, great food, wonderful presentation. If you want a quiet and intimate dinner for two, or a dinner with younger kids, this isn’t your place. This is a hopping scene, very vibrant and a FUN time. My wife and I made our first trip to Austin for the 2017 USGP (my 50th Birthday Present, and soon to be my 51st Birthday Present!) - met my sister and brother and law for the weekend - fantastic! I think this was our favorite place. Outstanding take on Mexican, or southwest offerings! WONderful!

We love Mexican restaurants and always search for a home base in every city. We stumbled into ATX Cocina after a few subpar dining experiences elsewhere and with them had the best dining experience of our trip. From the moment we sat down at the bar until we left, the experience was amazing! The restaurant was packed on a Thursday night, but the service was fast and friendly. The three bartenders were truly interested in making you a drink you would enjoy and in making sure your dining experience was perfect. They went above and beyond every step of the way, quite often even anticipating what you would need before you did. The drinks were strong and had great flavor. The entrees and appetizers were some of the best we've ever had. We tried the empanadas, salsa sampler and braised brisket. All were spectacular. The empanadas were my favorite. I would get these every time without fail. If you are in Austin and want a nice place to eat and drink with great service and a lively atmosphere, ATX Cocina is your place.

Great twist on Mexican cuisine at this restaurant. The food was fabulous and the service the same. Portions were a good size and 4 of us ordered family style so we could all share and taste. It is more high end than some of the restaurants we have visited in Austin. The food is worth it though. There’s a good selection of drinks

I went to ATX Cocina for my birthday. The guacamole and margaritas were delicious. I got the octopus for my meal and it was fun to branch out and try something new. We’d definitely come again

We found this place online and are so pleased we did! As a coeliac it can be tricky finding good gluten free options when out and about in different cities. The place is ALL gluten free! Nice to have a meal and know you’re not going to have a reaction. We arrived and it was happy hour so we enjoyed the nachos and the tacos, both were mega and top quality. The main menu had some strong options too. The service was also amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough if you’re in Austin. My partner isn’t gluten free and he really enjoyed it as well. May want to book ahead, we turned up about 15 mins after it had opened on a Thursday evening and it was already pretty busy.

The server was wonderful: gracious, knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive. The food is of nice quality but overpriced; presentation seems to weigh more heavily than consideration of the patron's satisfaction. The bar seems to be above average so this might be a good choice for drinks and appetizers. Best aspect: this is a dedicated gluten-free establishment.

We went to ATX Cocina last Friday July 27 and while I thought the food was quite good we could NOT believe the attitude from the waiter! WOW!! Seriously, if you can’t be welcoming and gracious with your customers then maybe you shouldn’t be in the food business. Also, while it was very good it was also fairly expensive so if you are a big eater this might not be the place. We were two female diners and shared the barbacoa and along with an appetizer of guacamole it was plenty. The margaritas tasted freshly squeezed and had a good kick. The food was very artistic in presentation and as mentioned very tasty....but we spent the weekend reliving the snark factor of our waiter.

Do NOT order curbside during CV crisis. They took well over an hour late on an order that was supposed to take an hour in first place. Too bad. In normal circumstances - a great restaurant.

$81.00 before tip, for 3 Margaritas, glass of wine, guacamole dip and cheese dip, and the cheese dip came with 3 tiny tortillas, for the four of us. BTW it was happy hour. Both appetizers were fair at best.

We visited Mothers day for lunch and if I rated the place just on it's food it would be a clear 2. The service on the other hand was very good and the kitchen, while turning out lackadaisical meals, was relatively quick. Valet parking is available at $10. We tried one appetizer and three entrees and three of the four dishes were disappointing. The appetizer was Guacamole and it was bland tasting and delivered with only 4 chips. The dish was plentiful but just lacked flaver. You can get better Guac at the Guac station in the Admirals Club in terminal D at DFW Airport. At $12 you would have expected more flavor and more chips. La Trucha was the only entree that met the mark. It is basically a filet of Trout grilled with mild spices and got a nice comment. At $32 is also poor value. Shrimp al Carbon was delivered in a disgusting presentation with the heads of the shrimp on and they were the featured part of the dish. It was totally gross to look at. With the heads removed the two shrimp provided were hardly a meal. Flavor wise the dish was described as okay but spicy. Again at $32 this dish is way over priced. That's $16 per shrimp, hardly a value at all, if fact it's a bit of gouging in my opinion. Huevos Diablos was a small dish of two severely under cooked eggs with a bit of Meat Chili and a ton of really spicy pepper. I am a pepper eater, and I've never had a dish that was so hot I had to remove all the peppers to eat, until today. Even with all the green I could find removed, eating this dish was excruciating. It is also quite small and can't be considered a meal. At $14 is is priced appropriately for such a small dish incorporating two under cooked eggs and a little meat sauce. The Banuelos and Ice Cream deserts were good and pricing at $9 and $5, while high is not that unreasonable. With a coffee added in the bill after taxes and tips was over $135 and we left hungry and grabbed burgers on the way home. That's just wrong in anybody's book. I've seen many reviews that speculate that the target market here is the convention center crowd and I'm going to postulate that this is the case. Not a fun mothers day lunch at all. Not

Excellent service and fun dishes. We ended up just doing small plates because the menu was so great. Highly recommend the hamachi and equites though every thing was awesome. Our server, John, was great and they clearly focus on service - it was seamless. I would definitely go back- maybe tomorrow

Rarely on a trip do I frequent the same spot twice so this must have been good. On Friday night ATX Cocina was jammed full but thanks to the hostess, managed to squeeze in at the bar which worked well with the World Series on. The mostly local crowd was super friendly to a far flung CDN and pardon the pun but steered me to the Longhorn game the next night which was a major highlight. After a long ponder, in came the guacamole with home baked multi-grain chips, followed by the queso fundido which was a meal unto itself, offering a very tasty combination of cheese and sausage all washed down by a local IPA. Being too full for the short rib and having run out of Brussells Sprouts, a week later with a friend in tow, back we went and covered off the missing options from the initial visit which were good but not as expected. Overall both nights were good, making it a go to spot if you're in town.

Fabulous Mexican fusion type food in an awesome setting. And don't forget the what seemed like hundreds of mescal selections available. Drinks were excellent. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the vibe. Place was packed at 5:30. Happy hour starts at 4:30. Nothing too exciting on the happy hour menu in terms of food. We ordered off the main menu. Outstanding Caesar salad (order one for two -and you'll still have leftovers). Beef short rib was the best I've ever had!!! Highly recommended. Great bartenders!!

Food was overpriced for what it is. No one at the table enjoyed the food. Service was ok but not great. For a place at this price point you either need remarkable food or service but when both are subpar then why be there? Extremely loud when packed. Couldn't hear each other talk. Valet parking is $10. I doubt we will be back.

This place was delicious. The empanadas, corn, Brussels, ceviche, guacamole, cheese dip and quesadillas are all worth ordering. My two favorites were Brussels and empanadas.

Great service, great food. I'd hit Happy Hour for the margarita--the best I've had in Austin. We sampled sooo much...guac, tacos, crab tostada, Hamachi, and the Carne Guisada. The carne Guisada and tacos stood out. The wine list was good too. It was just my wife and I, but we were impressed last night.

Great food and fun engaging environment. Got the crab tostadas to start and then moved on to the short rib and swordfish. Everything on the tostada was good but very spicy. Everyone at the table except me got the short ribs which came out cold, so they had to be sent back. I had the swordfish, and while it was very good I woke up with an upset stomach, unfortunate but still giving a good review because it was quiet good going down.

There was a convention in tow and the restaurant was packed. We loved the tortillas, there was something different about them, but delicious. We shared a seafood main dish which was very tasty and also ordered a side of elotes, which was horrible and we sent it back after one bite. That's the only reason for the 4 instead of 5.

1. We were taken here by an Austin local who was sure to teach us that this is not Tex Mex but features “interior” Mexican cuisine. 2. The margaritas are AMAZING, simple and delicious. We had to try more than one just to be certain our evaluation was fair. 3. Our server was so patient and very knowledgeable of the menu and she was wise about her recommendations. She put up with queries from a team of lawyers evaluating their culinary choices. 4. Go there - enough said. The menu is definitely meat centric. Vegetarians have few choices and vegans should opt for another spot. The portions for the main entrees are absolutely large enough to share and my favorite veggie dish was the corn, hands down.

The twist on traditional dishes is what this restaurant serves... perfectly. There are three areas to eat... tables around the bar area, boothes and tables in a more traditional restaurant area and an outdoor patio area. Dishes we loved APPS Mixed lettuce Caesar Nachos Concina Queso Fundido MEAL Roasted Beef Short Rib.. incredible and beautifully presented Tostadas de Atun Brussel Sprouts Kale and Watermelon salad Brocollini Not cheap... but memorable and fun

Extremely good! From the moment we walked in, great service and explanation of the menu - and a couple of killer cocktails, through all aspects of the meal. I LOVE the fact that on the appetizers they could easily add (and charge) for an extra one so that each of our party of four, could have one each instead of having to cut up or order too many - and the warm appetizers were incredible (the masa part of the menu). The mains were excellent portions - and the halibut was perfectly - like perfectly - cooked. The cervana (New Zealand deer - I had to Google) amazing, very pink, very well cooked and the hibicus and mushrooms worked well. Carne Asada was a thicker cut then most, and worth it as it retained perfect mouthfeel and was like butter. And the chicken ... great chicken! Loved the brussel sprouts. Desserts were good but their version of flan was a million dollar dessert. Loved it. My only regret, I don't have any plans to revisit Austin anytime soon.

ATX is one of those places that has a great location and a hipster buzz, it caters to the tech hipster set that has begun to call downtown Austin home. The aesthetics are wonderful, however, the food is just plain average. We started with the tostada which was tasty yet lacking, the curved oval shell was a nice touch, however, the stuffing was bland and not what we expected. The Queso flamiado was a highlight, it was smooth, a bit sharp and perfectly melted cheese, the chorizo was tasty but the corn tortillas were store bought. The shrimp main course was a bit bland and lack a clarity of flavor. The pork chop was huge and was simply nothing special at $2.00 an ounce for a 34 oz chop ( $64.00) it was over slated and just a tad tough. Overall, I don't mind paying high prices for food that is outstanding, the food, with the exception fo the Queso was just memorable for being over priced.

We had a great meal for 5 of us who were business associates. We were seated 20 mins after our reservation started which was annoying. Service was slow. And the restaurant is very loud, we had to scream to talk. But the food is delicious and portions are generous.

After spending many nights a year on the road I am not easily impressed, tonight I was. All the food was simply amazing. Great flavors mixed to please the pallet. The service was outstanding and Kelsey was perfect. Thanks for the outstanding service.

ATX Cocina provides tremendous service to compliment an exceptional menu with Mexican fare. The flavors and variety is unmatched. The level of detail in the flavoring of their menu and drinks is outstanding. I hosted a dinner in their semi-private space and both Sabrina and Richard were a dream to work with! They are very accommodating with allergens as well!

We had delicious and unique dinners and drinks at ATX Cocina. Just be aware that most of their offerings are a bit spicy. The deconstructed brussels sprouts were light and amazing. Our server Demetrius was super knowledgeable about the entire menu. He took the time and answer our questions and get us his recommendations.
Next level Mexican cuisine
All the food that I have tried here has been outstanding and very fresh: short ribs, tuna, hamachi, branzino and the Caesar salad. OMG, one of the best Caesar salads I have ever eaten. The dressing has the perfect kick of anchovy and lemon. I could eat it everyday! The service is very professional and pretty great, however, there can be an unevenness to it (timing of courses, a bit slow on drink refills), not enough to discourage a visit but a bit of improvement in this area wouldn't be amiss. Bottom line: go here, try as many things as possible and share!
