Worst Pizza Ever

By Baron M |

I ordered a large pizza based on the reputation of Aurello's but it was bad. I paid $32 for a pizza I could only take 3 bites from the rest of it I threw in the trash. The pizza was made with artificial cheese and had bad after-taste that is still with me hours after eating it. There is a chance that they use artificial cheese only with the customers they believe they can get away with it. I would recommend you taste your pizza before leaving the store. The only reason I did not bring it back was I had to walk several blocks to the store and did not want to give this business any more of my time. This has been a learning experience. I was looking for a place to bring 30 educators but will skip this place by voting with my feet.

Chicago restaurant reviews

By mirdob |

Nice people work here and we love the thin crust pizza here. What we would like more consistent delivery of the service and/or menu items. As regular guests we expect the same pizza make, same service quality every time. Today server was great, dessert "spumoni" excellent, but pizza ordered "light on cheese" was loaded with cheese.

Delicious

By Jeaniy02 |

Stopped here after a long morning at the Field Museum. We got the battered mushrooms which were very tasty, and a small pepperoni pizza (for 2 people). We didn't quite finish the pizza but it wasn't for lack of trying. Very tasty crust and sauce. Be careful, though--it's hot. Some sauce dropped on my chest when I was taking my first bite and I got burned (it even blistered later). :( Waiter was very nice. My husband got a Chicago Mule (similar to a Moscow Mule) and liked it a lot.

Good Pizza

By JoyceeC |

Better pizza than expected. Juicier than your average thin crust, but it works. Very good service, too.

Heaven on earth

By AAEN |

A Chicago institution from the South Side to Homewood, to Chicago. Order more than you would normally because this is the best leftover pizza ever! Amazingly thin crust and a sweet tomato sauce. Best.Pizza.Ever.

Not my slice of pizza

By Mary C |

being a native new yorker, their pie was too cheesy and sagged in the middle, the crust, bleh. not a fan of the deep dish

Absolutely delicious, family owned

By Julie-Lynn Baker |

We had pizza and beer one evening. Thin crust, taco pizza!! Best pizza I have ever had!! Super friendly staff and interesting ambience. You must try this place, they have a large menu and all food made with love. I wish I could remember our servers name. She is a tiny little blonde with a huge smile! Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

THE BEST PIZZA IVE EVER HAD

By Ben M |

By far the best pizza i've ever had. Recommended by a friend - sadly i'm from the UK and cannot get anything like this at home. I am actually debating flying back over just to have this pizza again. Service was great, waitress attentive.

Kid Friendly Chicago Style Pizza Place

By Arun S |

We went there with our 16 month Old Grand Son in a stroller. The place had a bar too. We sat on a corner table with enough space to park the stroller close to us. Welcoming and helpful staff. We also noticed large group of school teens coming in with chaperon and this place was big enough to accommodate them in a very orderly manner. We chose large half veggie and half works. Pizza was cheese heavy but still delicious. I would go there again because of cheery staff and being a kid friendly place.

I would go back to Chicago just to taste their spinach Calabrese again

By nypdliz |

Aurelio's was a 2 minute walk from my hotel, and even though it wasn't one of the must try pizza places I'd been told to go to, I decided to try it out, and I'm so happy I did. It is definately in my top 3, if not favorite pizzas I've ever had. That spinach calabrese was amazing. I will definately visit again when in Chicago.

Good service. Good food get a terrance in first and second floor.

By Alejandro D |

Basically this is just pizza but they service different kind of beers. It is not expensive and just a couple block from Field Museum and Soldier Fields(Chicago Bears). Ask of Bread Tomato it is good.

Best pizza we had in the US.

By Bricka65 |

Great food and drinks. Fantastic pizza. Good service. Would definitely go there again when in Chicago. Mouth waters just thinking about it......

Poor service

By Gordon F |

Went in on a Friday night but it was fairly quiet. Despite that the waitress was shockingly poor. It took her at least 40 mins to take our food order instead spending most of her time chatting to her mates, we had actually finished our first round of drinks before she came back so had to order another round. Almost walked out without paying......I doubt anyone would have noticed. The food however was great and partly rescued what was rapidly turning in to be a frustrating night. Could have been great!

Dynamite Thin Crust Pizza

By Tom Vertacnik |

Recently, I needed to drive my daughter up and back to Chicago for a conference and we were looking for a good pizza place for a pit stop. Trip Advisor came through big time helping me to find this smaller chain which really knows its stuff. Aurelio’s makes some fantastic pizza and has a nice beer selection too! *Hint if you’re lucky, you can find free parking in a shopping center lot just a couple blocks to the west.

PIZZA JUST LIKE CHICAGO MAKES IT

By rodgefour |

I am from Chicago and have had many types of pizzas. Aurelio's matches all of the best pizza I have ever had in Chicago!

Nice place

By Bojan K |

Giordano’s was too crowded so we went for Aurelio’s. And we didn’t regret. Nice, quiet place. Delicious pizza! Small pizza is really big, more than enough for two of us. Angie was very helpful and kind. We were nervous when we came, but left with a smile, thanks to her.

Great takeout!

By Jenny B |

I can't speak to the service of this restaurant because we got takeout, but we thought the food was very good. The pepperoni pizza had just the perfect amount of spice and sauce. The pizza was cut into squares, so it was perfect for sharing with our crowd. We also got a ceasar salad, which was delicious. If you're looking for a quick, easy and delicious meal, this is a great choice.

Skip the deep dish and try this!

By Jess |

This pizza is amazing. I think it's the sauce! Went after the Cubbies lost to the Mets (boo) and had a medium Hawaiian pizza and a beer. Took the rest to the hotel for midnight snacks. Totally walkable from Wrigley Field. There's even a Cubs merch store across the street. Seriously, great pizza. My friend ordered a gluten-free pizza and she couldn't say enough great things about it!

Great Pizza!!

By Christina A |

Fantastic pizza!! Amazing cheese bread! Great atmosphere! Different than typical Chicago style pizza...thinner crust but we prefer it over the deep dish. Worth trying for sure!!

Pretty Good

By Daryl N |

The pizza here was great. It's no deep dish pizza compared to what Chicago is known for but great none the less. My only gripe was wait time. We must have came during busy hours, we waited almost an hour for food.

It carry’s out well also!

By Chicagonative_7 |

My wife has been a fan for decades but it’s 15 miles from our home..... friends picked it up, and after a brief reheat in our oven, it was bubbly hot and Delicious! Chicago pizza aficionados tend to be loyal and here the novelty is the sweet red sauce..... We chose the sausage and cheese pizza and it was loaded with tasty sausage bits, nicely spaced and in virtually each bite. The crust was also evenly hot, no soggy middle area and nearly as good as the edge pieces. The other was plain cheese and also delicious. The salad was pretty standard fare but dressing tasty. Would we return? Absolutely!

Get the thin crust!

By Daniel E |

Don't waste your time with anything other than the thin crust italian sausage pizza. Get a big one because it tastes even better cold the next day. I don't know the exact ingredients they put in their tangy sauce, but it is unbelievable! I've been all over the world, and no one makes a sauce like that!

Love the pizza

By Jerome J |

Love their pizza. Been eating it for over 50 years since their beginning in Homewood. Our server Andrew made it a fun night.

Good pizza.

By Monica C |

My husband and I were in the area for an event at Soldier Field and we stopped here before heading that way and we were not disappointed! The service was friendly, the food pizza was good, and the dessert was great! We will for sure go back if we're ever back in the area. Stop by if you get the chance..they're great!

nice pizzas

By PGavaia |

Excellent pizzas. The 18" we asked for was too much for the 2 starving tourists but was fabulous and tasty. Staff was nice and helpful.

Ordered Pizza and it was amazing!

By EGHartrum |

I recently visited the city and my brother told me that we HAD to get pizza from Aurelio's. He told me that is was the best pizza he has ever had, and I have to agree with him. We ordered the Chicago deep dish (just cheese) and a large pepperoni-sausage on thin crust. Hands down, this was the best pizza that I have ever had in the city. Aurelios is now on my "must go" list the next time I find myself in Chicago.

Great food

By Riverak14 |

We tried the flat bread pizza and wow, it was great. The location was right near soldier field and the fans made the atmosphere even more fun.

Nice lunch specials

By SLyleK |

We've always liked Aurelio's pizza at any of their locations. This is the first time we had their $9 lunch special. Many options from individual pizzas with up to five toppings thru sandwiches, all including soup or salad and drink. Well worth it.

Very tasty!

By Ava D |

I went to Aurelio's Pizza with my friend and colleague during a science conference. We had a great experience and delicious pizza. The restaurant has a good location in proximity to the Roosevelt train station and the Southern Loop. The home-made pizza sauce was very good and their Chicago style pizza was super tasty! I highly recommend this place!

Best Pizza we could imagine!

By Cmcconaughy |

We were hoping to eat deep dish pizza in Chicago but didn’t know where to go. A tour guide said Aurelio’s was the best, so we decided to go. Boy, are we glad we did! We had their stuffed pizza as well as thin crust and both were delicious! The stuffed pizza was amazing. It was well worth the cab ride from Navy pier - we are so glad we went. Prices were good ($35 for 3 of us) and good was delicious!

Ugh! Cold, soggy pizza

By MuiFamily |

We ordered a deep dish pizza for take out and the pizza was soggy, cold and gross. I have a feeling it had been sitting for quite a while before we picked it up. There's a huge difference between takeout and eating in so maybe we would have enjoyed it more if we had eaten on premises? Not sure. The pizza sauce was way too sweet.

Excellent Food Good Service

By ddmullis |

I went in as I was walking on S Michigan Avenue and exploring options for dinner. I was seated at the bar and was quickly greeted by the server I asked for healthy recommendations and ordered a house salad with grilled chicken It was served promptly and presented nicely The salad and grilled chicken was very fresh and tasty Unfortunately I found the bartender/server to be focused on other duties other than waiting on his single customers who were eating instead of drinking I found the prices to be reasonable

Good Pizza in a Sports Bar

By luv2travel076 |

We had dinner here consisting of a 13” pizza and an anti pasta salad for two. I also had a draft beer. Service was great and so was the food. Salad was brought out quickly and the pizza followed soon after.

Very good pizza

By Jeremy F |

We stopped by for a quick lunch and had a very good pizza - cheese and mild peppers. It was definitely worth the visit. I recommend.

Great thin crust pizza and walking distance to everything

By NA69Traveler |

Great thin crust pizza. We had been eating too much pizza since we got here and the thin crust hit the spot. The sauce was outstanding

Pasta Party

By Hazel |

Attended a Pasta Party with a charity prior to the marathon. The pasta was good and the sauce was better. I enjoyed the family style dishes, but wish the wait staff had given us proper utensils to serve.

Delicious every slice

By Brian C |

This is the first time I sat down in Chicago and had pizza in a restaurant. Food was delicious and fast and hot. Had the toasted ravioli which were probably the best I have had - nice smooth warm cheese, great flavor. Also shared a stuffed small pizza - sausage and green peppers. Very good. Had three slices left for the two of us. Service was prompt if not overly friendly, but no bad things to say about it. Overall wonderful experience.

So friendly

By Sean M |

In Chicago for a conference and looking for a place to watch a Louisville football game and I came across Aurillios. Walked in and sat at the bar (Friday 7pm). Immediately greeted by Andy and offered a drink. Numerous TV's are scattered around the restaurant with there prominent ones above the base of the bar. The Louisville game was on a side TV and he moved it to the main center one. The bulls were playing on the right screen. The Blackhawk were playing on the left screen. And through the game he didn't switch the screen in spite of regulars request. Great customer service I had the minestrone soup which is on the menu daily. It was delicious. The house salad was a nice size. Asked for dressing on the side, got it. Ordered the small thin crust pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. The mushrooms are slice not diced (love that). The crust was thin but not cracker like. It was served straight out of the oven, super hot!! It was delicious Food great Service great Atmosphere great They made an out -of-Towner feel very welcome and equal. Thank you

Best pizza in town

By A K |

Had to wait as it was so busy but it was worth it. Good and friendly service, very reasonably priced.

Amazing thin crust!

By Brazatraveler |

We tried the hot wings and the thin crust pizza with peppers and mushrooms and was sooo good!! Flavorful and the crust was crunchy on the outside.

Great Pizza

By Woohoo451 |

Stopped by for dinner with a large family and they were able to seat us quickly. The pizza came out fast and was absolutely delicious. The waitstaff was super friendly and the owner even came over and chatted us up a bit which was refreshing. They even gave us a free shirt for our newborn.

Named After My Dad. lol.

By LucianoLeon |

The reason my sister and I came here for lunch is because Aurelio is our dad's name. We wanted to buy him a shirt, so we decided to eat here and afterwards order him a shirt. I'm not much into thin crust pizza, but for thin crust, the pizza was quite good. I had two slices of pepperoni and my sister had two slices of cheese. Both of us were nice and full. Personally, as far as thin slice pizza is concerned, I still prefer Costco Pizza, but Aurelio's was pretty good.

So Delicious

By Iah1236 |

I LOVE Pizza, but this is going to be my new go to as it is on my way home from work! We had cheese pizza and wings, the quietest I heard the family all weekend while they ate this food!

Great Pizza

By Extraordinary756984 |

Ate here after the Bears game. We were pretty hungry and wanted something easy so we decided on pizza, most of the restaurants were on pretty long waits, we were able to sit on the patio and were served immediately. The thin crust pizza was just the right amount of crunch and seasoning. the sauce was on point as well.

great place for pizza

By shwis |

We stopped here walking back to the parking garage after a visit to the museum campus based on high ratings from TripAdvisor. The thin crust pizza was outstanding. The kids won't stop talking about it. The calabrese was very good too. Very close to Soldier Field - the waiter said it gets packed for game day.

Good pizza in a family friendly surrounding

By lovethesnow11 |

This was my first time here. I was here with family and small kids--2, 6, and 10. The environment was loud (sports bar atmosphere with multiple TVs and plenty of cheering for the favorite team) so was ideal for a 2 year old who has not mastered the art of "quiet" yet. The pizza was very good, not great, but very good and oh so filling. I would go back.

Cheesy goodness!

By Pegleg75 |

We ordered the stuffed pizza with sausage. It was delicious and cheese oozed our everywhere; seriously, there was a fist-sized amount of cheese that leaked out of the pie onto the tray. We ate in the bar and arrived an hour before close. The bartender was exceptionally friendly and attentive; he gave no indication he wanted to rush us out. Our only complaint is the sauce is really sweet. We added jalapeños and red pepper flakes to spice it up. We selected this instead of the other pizza places because it was a block from our hotel. Oh, and we only were able to eat 1.5 of the 8 slices on a medium pie. If you are just a couple, you might be better off ordering a small. The bartender talked us out of a large to a medium but it was still too large.

Good food, good service, good sports venue

By Wesley |

After all these years in Chicago, decided to check out this pizza place. In a town with great pizza places, it is hard to try something new. The food was good, not great, and the service was good. The location at Michigan and Roosevelt is good if you are visiting the museums or going to a concert or Bears game at Soldier Field. Nothing bad to say about this place, just too many better pizza places, in my opinion.

Delicious!

By Michael W |

It's a sports bar, but it's big and the restaurant is quieter than the bar. They specialize in thin crust. We bought "The Works," and my wife said it was the best pizza she's ever had. We bought a medium and there was no way we could eat the whole thing, but it made for great leftovers.

Best Pizza in Town

By Barbara D |

Ok, so I am not from Chicago, but my husband is, and I know everyone feels very strongly about pizza. I grew up Italian, my parents owned an Imported Italian food store with all types of homemade food, and my first husband owned a successful Italian restaurant/pizzeria in Cleveland, Ohio. I bring this all up to say that I know pizza, and Aurelio’s makes the best! My Chicago husband, after all is said and done, and I agree that this is the tastiest, most consistent pizza in the city. Nice restaurant, pretty good service.

Delicious Tasting Food

By Glorialaviajera |

This is a family own Italian food restaurant that dates back to 1959. The furniture looked modern and new so it might have undergone a renovation lately. The menu offers a large selection of salads, sandwiches, pasta, pizzas, meats and desserts. The food tasted authentically Italian and the portions were very generous, try a delicious gelato to complete your meal. The service was good. I saw families, couples, individuals so it caters to any one.

Authentic thin crust pizza

By Eric T |

Taking a break from the deep-dish pies, this authentic thin crust pizza was a delight to partake. After touring the Shedd Aquarium, this was a nice stop before heading back to the hotel. Lolapalooza was going on, but my wife and I was seated right away. There is a bar available if you need to quench your thirst. We sat near the windows and people watched as we waited on our pizza. The staff is patient and friendly. Was a nice place to recover from the walking and crowds. If you are into Chicago Sports, this is the place for you. I ordered the large pizza, but a medium would do for my wife and I. I did have enough for take-out eats for later that day.

South Side thin crust

By Allan T |

Aurelio's is one of many Chicago style thin crust pizzerias. It's not too thin, not too thick, its just right with a crispy taste, with just a little extra tartness added to it. This Pizzeria has been around since the 1950s and keeps it original traditions. This is their long awaited expansion into the south loop area and we're thrilled. It has an outdoor patio and a corner roof deck that's great for viewing the summer time fireworks over the lake. Its convenient to the Museum campus and to the Chicago Hilton and Tower hotels. The perfect place to rest after a long day of exploring and shopping.

Amazing sauce

By Lisa M |

We were visiting our son and he said that he goes here all the time for pizza and it is really good. We had the large dinner salad with raspberry vinaigrette and house dressing. Both were very good as I had two servings of salad and tried them both. We did the thin crust pizza with pepperoni and they cut it in squares which I loved. I'm not much of crust eater so I love getting the middle pieces. We sat in the bar and both bar tenders were our servers and they were both great. Can't wait to visit and go again.

Great Pizza!

By Diane B |

We prefer thin crust pizza, and this was the best we've had! Had their late afternoon special, $10 for a personal pizza with 3 toppings of your choice, soup or salad, and spumoni or cannoli. Loved the crust - crisp enough to pick up without losing the generous toppings of sausage, Canadian bacon and green pepper. The mozzarella was very flavorful and not greasy. The chicken dumpling soup was also excellent. The dinner salad was large, and included a surprising array of ingredients - pimento, cucumber, tomatoes, red pepper, croutons and red onions with a house made italian dressing. The lettuce could have been fresher, however. The chocolate spumoni was delicious, but I would not recommend the cannoli. I'd go back any day!

Pizza was pretty good

By mike s |

Atmosphere was pretty good. Prices were ok. Service was slow and the place was fairly empty. Chicago has tons of pizza options and next time I’ll try a different place.

Want a good pizza? This is the place to go.

By Richard A |

An excellent pizza, excellent service and overall good value. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Good stuffed pizza Our waiter was either new or bad

By Catdrchris |

Good stuffed pizza and appetizers. Wife liked it more than other "billboard-advertising" stuffed pizzas, I like others a little more. Only 4/5 because our waiter got something wrong every time he came to the table (mixed up who-got-what every visit, didn't know much about the beer on tap, forgot to tell us about the 45 minute wait for stuffed, I mentioned it when we ordered to verify and save my guests frustration).

New Location!

By SciGuyMrD |

Just opened this location a couple days ago (after a looooong build out process) and I'm glad to have them in the neighborhood. Two levels of outside seating, a couple inside dining rooms and a decent size bar should be able to hold a good crowd. Friendly, attentive service and an attitude that they want to establish themselves in the area seems like a good sign. Manager says that it is the same ownership as the previous location further west. The pizza is thin crust, unlike many "Chicago style" pizzas, but I prefer it and will be back. Good selection of craft and domestic beers.

Friendly atmosphere. Delicious pizza.

By Ben W |

What a warm welcome and a fantastic meal! We had a hankering for authentic Chicago pizza and this was the place that was recommended to us. It has quite a history and there are plenty of photos on the wall of Aurelio and various notorious people. Loved it. The staff and the manager could not have been more welcoming. The food was excellent and in very generous portions. I would not hesitate to go back.

Ok food. Bad service.

By Daddydavidh |

Our family stopped here after going to the Shedd Aquarium. We ordered an appetizer, a gluten free pizza, a large pizza and fettuccine Alfredo. The appetizer was good and came out quickly. The gluten pizza came out next and then 10 minutes later came the fettuccine . This was very good per my daughter. The large pizza came out last, 5 minutes after the fettuccine and we didn't really care for the taste of the sauce. It's a preference thing. The server brought our drinks out soon after we ordered but that was the last time that he thought of that until after we were all done eating. I start with the idea of giving a 20% tip. If you take care of us and our drinks, the tip stays at 20%. We were not taken care of. He came to the table several times and never offered refills. When we did ask for a refill he forgot to bring back a cup and he needed to be reminded once he came back around. All in all, ok food, bad service. We will not return.

My favorite pizza

By Robert L |

Their pizza's are absolutely scrumptious. Their sauce on their pizza is one of a kind and can't be duplicated. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Bob Chicago

Great pizza

By Jean J |

First visit while in Chicago. Selection great. Pizza was mouth watering. Service was excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Great Pizza

By readingwillers |

The interior of this restaurant is great, very old Italian. The pizzas were delicious and the staff were great. This is popular restaurant very near to the red line train and Grant Park. Highly recommended.

Pizza with a view.

By Barbara W |

Aurelio's is one of the best pizza in the Chicago area. This new location has brought my childhood favorite to the south loop. The facility has outdoor seating which is always a plus in Chicago. My two favorite things pizza and outdoor seating. You cannot visit Chicago without having Aurelio's.

The worst pizza ever

By craighall97 |

I would rate lower if I could the food was horrible and never again will I eat their so called pizza we were there on a family vacation and we went in and ordered to pizzas one was stuffed pizza and the other one was thin crust and it was horrible and very expensive if you want horrible pizza that is very expensive this is the place for you

The pizza is so good here. They have a ton of seating inside as well as some outdoor seating. The food is always good, the service is always great.

Where have you been all my life

By S G |

My daughter and I had this place on our summer bucket list of restaurants to checkout. We couldn’t wait for the summer to arrive. This pizza was beyond delicious and our wonder waitress customer service was superb. We have found our new pizza place to order from.

very good food

They call the Calzone-Pizza "Calabrese". All dishes (Burger, Ravioli, Pizza) was very good.I really can recommend this!

Since 1959, pizza and all the trimmings

By Taylor B |

Having been born in south suburban Blue Island, I have been hearing about Aurelio's Pizza ever since Joe Aurelio opened his first location in Homewood in 1959. But, truth be told, I never sampled any of Aurelio's fare until they opened a franchise in the South Loop at 1212 South Michigan Avenue. Today, it's hard not to find an Aurelio's anywhere in the Chicago area, from Arlington Heights to La Porte, Indiana. Joe Aurelio started in austere fashion, only four tables, a small kitchen and one pizza oven. He sold only six or seven pizzas and a few Italian beef sandwiches per day. But business was good and in 1974 he began to franchise, expanding to Joliet. More expansion continued in the 1980s and 1990s. Today, there are 41 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Florida, Georgia, Nevada and Minnesota. The flagship location, at 18162 Harwood Avenue in Homewood, in a converted warehouse that was built in 1927, is the world's largest pizzeria with 16,000 square feet of space. The menu is expansive and overwhelming and fulfilling. What'll you have? Chicken tenders or garlic bread or onion rings or toasted ravioli or hot wings or chili for an appetizer. Sandwiches? Meatball or ham or chicken or Italian beef or Italian sub or Italian combo. Pasta? Spaghetti or mostaccioli or beef ravioli or fettuccine or tortellini or chicken parmesan. Salad? Caesar or Cobb or spinach or antipasto or Buffalo chicken. Which brings us to the main event, pizza, thin crust or thick crust or stuffed in five sizes. How about the Super Six, "the works." with sausage, ham, pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese. I'm still a creature of habit. Give me a large thin crust pizza with sausage and cheese. Then top off your meal with a deep dish cookie, 1/2 pound of chocolate chip cookie dough baked in a deep dish pizza pan, served warm and smothered with vanilla ice cream topped with whipped cream and mini-chocolate morsels. Yummy. The thing about Aurelio's is you are tempted to sit at the bar and eat your pizza while watching the Bulls or Blackhawks or Cubs on one of the several TVs scattered around the restaurant rather than make an order to-go and take it home. Cheers for the guy who decided to build an Aurelio's in the South Loop.

Thin crust-awesome pizza!

By Vicki G |

The pizza was awesome! My daughter had gluten free and said hers was excellent as well. The antipasto salad was a great start to the meal. Service was good. Fabulous experience! Worth the walk from the Shedd.

Mold fries

By jazlynn w |

This is my first time ordering here. The guy on the phone told me I had to come back all the way downtown and I stay in the south suburbs. He told me there was nothing he can do. And that they fries don't mold. When I see it in front of my place. That the last time I order from them again

Awesome experience

By Lori S |

Move over, heavy Chicago deep dish! This pizza was so full of flavor and little grease. Worth every calorie. Service was fantastic. 8 kids, 5 mamas, all seated quickly. Will definitely go back after our next museum trip.

Delicious

By Neisha T |

We tried the deep dish stuffed pizza and hot wings. The pizza looked very different compared to the style I usually see but the taste was awesome and the wings were some of the best wings I’ve ever tasted. Great spot to dine and we had a nice view as well! 5 stars wings 4 stars pizza 5 stars service

Not the best.

By JeffWagg |

I'm not a Chicago native, but I've lived here long enough to know there are better places in the neighborhood for authentic Chicago pizza.

Really good food.

By Mike |

I got take out from here twice during my stay in Chicago as it was very easy walking distance from my Grant Park hotel. This pizza, as many have already described, is some of the best thin crust deep dish I’ve ever had. My style is sausage, Canadian bacon, and black olives and it was fantastic both times. A size small pizza can really give you two meals here so if you are not looking to take any home and you are flying solo then go for the mini size. Next time I’m in the city I will be back.

Very, very good

By Jannine6504 |

This was the best pizza we had in over 2 years ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My favorite pizza place is back home in Sweden and we were there 2 years ago. But today when I took a bite from this Calzone Pizza, I was back home. Very delicious pizza, keep up the great job. Thank you so much 😀

Lovely Food

By SoyKabAl |

We ordered a Calabrese if memory serves right. Delicious. Very unique take on traditional pizza which was new for us. The waiter was new but very attentive and helpful. He recommended this local beer on tap to pair with the calabrese and it was phenomenal. Recommended.

Love Love Love Aurelio's

By jilleanag |

We drove about 20 miles just to eat at Aurelio's newest location. Very nice loop location. As always the food was excellent. We had to order several different things because we love it all. Great food, great service!

Salad ripoff but great pizza

By Chicagonative_7 |

We've been eating Aurelio's since its beginnings on the South Side for over 40 years...... And we're please to see an improvement in their quarters in the new downtown location. We ordered carry out- a large antipasto salad and large classic pizza with sausage bits. Ready on time, we found upon arriving at our friends that the large salad (and it was large!) came with one pathetically small 1-2 pounce container of dressing - all for 14 bucks! Come on folks, that is absolutely pathetic and most likely an oversight but it makes it hard to remedy once you've left the store..... The pizza was reliably delicious with excellent crust..... But there are many other pizza options in the Loop and I'll think twice before ordering here again, at least before ordering their massively overpriced salad!

Great pizza and service

By Perky33 |

Arrived Saturday night from London, knackered but hungry. Stumbled across this place and was immediately made to feel welcome. The service was superb, beer cold and pizza tasty. Couldn’t fault - thank you

Pizza in Chicago

By Scharlee P |

This restaurant was recommended by the front desk at our hotel- of course we were looking for deep dish pizza. When we arrived we were told that their thin crust was the best. I fore went that recommendation ordered a deep dish and my grandmother ordered a thin crust. We were both very happy.

Great pizza.

By laurelav |

I visited with my 8 and 10 year old. My kids ordered pizzas, a salad for myself, and an appetizer for bosco sticks. The food was great. The pizza was great. Excellent crust. We shared a cookie shot at the end.

The restaurant was recommended by friends and lived up to expectations. We caught the redline train from downtown and got off at Roosevelt and it was a shortcut to the restaurant near millennial park. A great place to carbohydrate load for the walk back through the park to downtown.

Chicago in a restaurant

By Salman |

Chicago is the friendliest city I have ever been in. Strangers nod to you and say hi, everywhere one goes. Aurelios is a friendly place. One is made to feel very very welcome. It faces stiff competition as Chicago is the Mecca of the Pizza. Aurelios is certainly in the running. Lots of offerings for all tastes in pizza. We spiced ours up and itwas excellent. Good selection of salads. Light on desserts but probably a good thing given the high calories on consumes in the pizzas. However the service is the true winner here. Really very friendly and personal. Will go there again next time I'm in town

Very good service

By shirimarkus |

We came to eat out last Pizza in the city before our flight back home, the place was clean, quiet and pleasant. The food was fantastic!!!

Lunch specials

By Sally L |

I eat at Aurelio's whenever I am in the Chicago area. This one is between the Roosevelt Road station and the Shedd Aquarium. We each got a lunch special: pizza and a salad.and spaghetti and meatballs with minestrone soup. The portions were abundant and everything tasted good. The waitress was friendly and accommodating.

Not as good as I remember, but still nice.

By radharani9 |

This was a quick, charming dinner I had with a new friend recently. The pizza is different than i remember the original aurelios, but still good. We had a veggie pizza..it was quick and well done.

Great filler before a concert

By Sarah Z |

5:15pm on a Friday, party of 2. Walked right in and was seated....no wait. Ordered 2 beers, Bosco sticks, and a medium pizza. Everything was great. The music playing in the restaurant was the same as the concert we were going to see. Bosco sticks were an order of 4. Pizza was larger than we realized. Could have probably gone with a small so as to not have any left overs. Pizza came out piping hot. Thin, crispy crust. Waitress was attentive. Will come back for another pre concert meal.

Good Pizza

By AggieCPA2 |

The food, especially the pizza, is very good, but I advise picking it up as I did not have good luck with deliver even though they are only like three blocks away.

Best. Thin-crust pizza. EVER

By celia w |

Best thin crust pizza on the planet! It is all about the sauce...and the cheese... and the sausage! Friendly and amazing staff. It is like being welcomed home for dinner! If you haven't tried their pizza yet, you need to make it a priority.

Deelish

By DROU812LOULOU |

Although there are many choices on the menu, the pizza is a must. Finish up with a deep dish cookie a la mode. Highly recommend making reservations in advance.

Delicious pizza and even better service

By Juan Carlos S |

Pizza is really good. We ordered stuffed pizza with spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms. Medium stuffed was way too much for two. We were in a hurry so we only tried that. But what we loved the most was the service. At the entrance Ricard kindly lead us to our table, then the manager asked twice if we were ok with our seating. Then Maria took our order and she always informed us about our pizza status. Everybody had a smile and it made our experience a great one. Bonus points: the restroom was very clean and fully automated.

pizza and sports

By overthemoon08 |

great pizzas great sports bar you can watch all the major sports on tv in Chicago whilst having a beer and a large pizza as we did and its not to far from Soldier Field where the Bears play Great food Great beer Great staff and a Great place to be in

Amazing, life changing pizza!

By loveturquoisewater |

Discovered this pizza about seven years ago and it instantly became my favorite Chicago thin crust pizza. The sauce, cheese, crust and toppings are so good. The cheese caramelizes on top and they cut into squares. I think it’s better than any other pizza in the city. Try it!

Great authentic pizza

By Jjenniferadams599 |

Great place for an authentic Italian pizza, reasonable variety and fresh ingredients. Nice value for money as well

If they had pizza this good in Tampa, I'd need bigger pants.

By Heather S |

This is hand-tossed thinner (not thin thin) crust pizza with amazing quality toppings and sauce. I though I'd want deep dish in Chicago, but I was wrong. We got the supreme, fried mushrooms, and some local beer, and could not have been happier. Super filling -- you will get all the bang for your buck.

Not Chicago deep dish, but the best "other" pizza around

By cheeseheadfamilyof4 |

We used to live in the Twin Cities. There is one Aurelio's there. We frequented it. So, when I saw this one on the map, we headed there immediately. Usually in Chicago, we head to Gino's for deep dish, but this pizza is just amazing. The sauce is what makes it awesome. I also had the Batch 59 beer which was a great amber ale. We'll be back.

Awesome!

By eggbert_tg |

Very nice, genuine Chicago pizza restaurant! Menu has plenty of choices. Quality is excellent, service is great, prices reasonable. We like to come here whenever we come into town.

Delicious!

By Barbara B |

We picked this place because it had thin, deep dish, and gluten-free. Nine of us, from aged 57 to 9, four different types of pizza, and it was wonderful! The service was good, and the food was GREAT! We highly recommend this pizzeria.

Pizza was good, my son loved the sandwich

By Mikey88 |

We shared a large veggie pizza and had a beer and all was good. My son had a sandwich stuffed with meat etc and he's still talking about it. convenient for a snack before/after the museums.

Thin crust pizza and great boneless wings

By GHartley |

For anyone looking for pizza with a crisp, thin crust, and cut into right-sized squares, Aurelio's can't be beat. Toppings are delicious and generous. Boneless wings are phenomenal.

The best pizza of my life

By Vicki D |

Wonderful pizzas. Huge variety of choices in styles and ingredients. Reasonable prices, considering the area. $25 per pizza average. We had the traditional deep dish with pepperoni and Italian beef. OMG, so good. Kids had a thin crust, half chicken, half bacon. The chicken side was good, the bacon side was AMAZING.

Best thin crust!

By Jeff P |

I know everyone says Chicago deep dish, but honestly this place's thin crust is great. The best pepperoni I've ever had. I usually don't care for plain pepperoni, but this establishment knows how to rock with the basics

Very good.

By splpizzaguy |

Ordered on a Friday night, quoted an hour and a half. The pizza arrived in forty minutes. Sweet tasty sauce and great crust.

Really good pizza in a cool atmosphere

By Lisset |

I love all the sports memorabilia on the walls! We sat in the bar which had a pretty cool vibe to it. Quite a few TV's, although based on their placement and the number of TV's I'm not sure yet if this will be the place to catch Sunday football once the season starts. They may need to put up more TV's to air other games. I will say, the location of this place is awesome if you're headed to Museum Campus (and Soldier Field for a game). The bartender was great! Attentive and friendly. The pizza was absolutely DELISH! It's not NY style thin crust, if that's what you're looking for. This is a slightly thicker thin crust. It was cooked to perfection! It had plenty of sauce, cheese, and toppings! I loved the flavor of the sausage and the pepperoni. This was definitely a good pie. My only issue was the price. Quite expensive for thin crust. We paid as much as we would have for a deep dish with the same toppings from Lou Malnati's. That seemed a bit much to me. We'll likely be back, but not as often as we'd like due to the pricing. I suppose it's maybe due to it's location? Not sure since this was our first Aurelio's experience. All in all though, good spot.

Chicago's premier pizza chain

By Taylor B |

My wife and I grew up in Blue Island, one of Chicago's south suburbs, so it figures that we're very familiar with Aurelio's Pizza. Founded in 1959 in Homewood, the chain has grown to include locations throughout the Chicago area, northwest Indiana and Florida, Georgia, Minnesota, even Las Vegas. In 1976, Aurelio's opened the world's largest pizza parlor, a 16,000-square-foot flagship at 18162 Harwood Avenue in Homewood. And, fortunately for city dwellers like us, there is a location at 1212 South Michigan Avenue in the South Loop. Aurelio's signature item is the 18-inch thin crust pizza with Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. In a town known for pizza, Aurelio's is as good as it gets. But what we like most about Aurelio's is the extensive menu of pasta, sandwiches and other Italian staples. On our visits to the South Loop or Frankfort or Homewood or Palos Heights locations, we love to sample the Italian beef sandwich or mostaccioli or beef ravioli (my wife's favorite) or meatball sandwich. And how about the deep dish cookie dessert? It's a half-pound chocolate chip cookie baked in a deep dish pizza pan and smothered with vanilla ice cream. Love the calories.

Good Pizza

By I_got_up_and_went_07 |

was in the mood for pizza, this was acoss street from condo I was renting. called in for a pick up order, was ready at estimated time and was excellent pizza

Tasteful!

By Spumante |

Great pizzas. Thin and crispy. A little bit fatty, but pizzas usually are... staff were great, polite and nice :) we felt welcomed with two small kids.

I would eat here again and again

By Scande93 |

Thank you to our Uber driver who recommended Aurelio's. I am not the biggest fan of Chicago deep dish and we needed a break. The thin crust, cut in squares was awesome! Our group of 4 adults loved it. The crust was not to thin, somewhere between thin and regular at other places. The spices built in were great and the services was good. It was slow around 8 on a Monday night, but filled in others that know good pizza. I can only imagine what a great place this would be to watch a game on the weekend. I wish we had an Aurelio's in Texas.

I couldn't eat it all

By Stepeo60 |

My wife and I ordered a 18" pizza. I shouldn't, it was too big. It was one of the really nicest pizza's I have had and I am a big pizza eater. I just couldn't eat it all. , and I would like to thank all the staff. They are very friendly and courtyess.

Love it!

By vko4159 |

I lived in the Homewood area for years, so I'm a long time customer of Aurelio's. They have great pizza there and here in the new South Loop location, too. For those who want other dishes, they are really good, too. I'm thrilled that I now only have to walk 2 blocks, because we used to drive to Homewood for pizza. I'm a very happy lady!

Lunch in way to Planetarium

By AleliDz |

This is our way to the planetarium Just in front of thr Red station So convenient and easy to find This is our 3rd time trying different pizza in our visit to Chicago And is ok Not my favorite We order chesse ravioli large size nice for 2 people cime with salad and bread is very good The a deep dish spinach is ok not great but just ok

Place for the common man on the ten thousand man march to Soldier Field.

By HelloJoeOne |

Aurelio's is not new to Chicago, but it is new to this hood. Great draft beer selection, individual pizzas, dine inside or outside, wonderful Italian beef or sausage sandwich at 5 bucks under the neighborhood price point. I'm worried the neighborhood will find out and swamp the place, or Aurelio's will find out and raise the price. Either way it won’t stay Southside long.

Flavorful!!

By chocobanano75 |

Their pizza is excellent!! The way they bring it to you makes it easy to serve. Slices are square, not triangles. Lots of flavor, crispy. Price is decent for the area.

Great pizza

By JillK1952 |

We had a Super Six pizza was was fabulous. We have to thank our server, Erica, for suggesting the correct size for the two of us. We though that we might need a large but she suggested medium, which was perfect. The beer was cheap and good. The price of the meal was very reasonable, considering that we also had the beer.

Auerelios is the Best!

By Giovanni_99 |

This is the best Chicago tavern style pizza. It had been about 10 years since I last had Auerelios pizza, as I relocated to Arizona, and this South Loop location was hitting grand slams on all the food we ordered. We had the antipasto salad...delicious! The Buffalo wings were the best wings I've had in a long time, and way better than anything I can get in AZ. And the pizza, sausage and pepperoni. With the most perfect crust, seriously compliments to the chef who was working Saturday August 27, afternoon, Amazing. The sauce was perfect, my favorite pizza sauce of all time.

Deception

By Danielle182165 |

We were there for dinner. Service is good. We had a caesar salad and large pizza which was very big in fact, more the size of an extra large. But pizza looks like a Mc Cain pizza that you buy at the grocery with more cheese on it. Very deceiving . The salad was also deceiving.

Quick Dinner

By mirdob |

We love Aurelio's pizza. Thin crust number 27, tomato, spinach, mushroom light on cheese is our favorite. It's going really well with Italian Antipasto salad. Yes, the menu is more on expensive side, but the downside on our side is more for inconsistent service. Goes from excellent to not so good. Managment, please try to train better your servers, otherwise you have great product.

Great Pizza

By BMQ |

We eat there twice. First time we went Sunday at noon and eat at the restaurant and then we order to go. Good service, very good pizza and the price is affordable.

good eats and nice place to hang out

By Joan C |

love the pizza but I do always ask them to go easy on the sauce. Otherwise it could be a bit sweet for some people.

Excellent tasty pizza

By gina1230 |

Fabulously delicious pizza. Ordered cheese plus ham, pineapple, jalapeño and bbq sauce. Service was fast also and pizza hot

Good, but not as good as deep dish

By Louis H |

I don't know if there is a more traditional spot, but this location is contemporary. I guess I was expecting something more "old-school". We had the hot wings which were nicely seasoned to be spicy but not too hot. We had an enormous fiesta sausage and pepperoni pizza that was more than we could eat. Four of us including two teenage boys, and we still brought some home. The flavor was unique, but wee bit on the salty side. I'm glad to have had it, but when I am in Chicago, I would prefer deep dish. Still, I recommend you go and taste for yourself.

So good!

By RocknRobyn10 |

The best pizza ever! I absolutely love Aurelio’s! We had the baked ravioli for an app and it was unreal. The pizza is filling and flavourful. I am definitely returning to Aurelio’s the next time we’re in a Chicago!
