I had been wanting a sabich sandwich and was pleased to find one at Aviv. However, it was a soggy mustardy mushy mess, impossible to eat - I never throw out food but I just couldn't make myself finish it. To be fair, I got it to go, but ate it immediately upon leaving the restaurant- not waiting to get home. I also found it way too expensive- for $30 i got the sandwich and a side of one piece of pita and a small cup of hummus and a small cup of salad. Both were fine but not remarkable.

Easily some of the best hummus and falafel I've ever had. The pita they serve is light and fluffy - which I've never seen before - it's delicious. I ordered the basar with a side of hamutzim, and my wife had the masabacha. Both were fantastic. The falafel were so tasty as well. The restaurant itself is brightly decorated, with hummus-themed decorations throughout. The succulents in dried chickpea planters was a cute touch. The staff was very friendly, and even though it was busy our food arrived quickly. I can't wait to go back.

Love hummus. Love good falafel. Love good pita. But I don't love Aviv. Apparently Aviv is under new ownership, or at least that is what we overheard during our lunch there, Regardless, the restaurant is not up to snuff. I thought the texture of their **star** ingredient (hummus) was great. But it was not particularly flavorful. This is not like hummus you get in the MidEast, or even at Costco. The falafel was good, but a meat filler was rather boring. And I know that some like the big pillowy pitas, but I am not a fan. The pita tastes and looks like the love child of a hamburger bun and matzoh. And then there are the prices. For the modest portions given, the place is outrageously expensive. Your hummus serving is skimpy at best. Maybe the new owners will wake up and give the public proper value, and a more distinctive food. But we won't be back anytime soon.

Aviv is right next to Seattle's best neighborhood, and is a short stroll away from the extra-cute 15th Avenue shops and eateries! Everything they make is authentic and awesome, give them a shot if you're in Seattle!

The falafel and humus were excellent and the service was very warm and efficient. Wonderful place to eat even that the prices are higher than in Israel. We went there several times and its absolutely a perfect place for us. Dont miss it.

What an amazing place! Fresh food, neighborhood feel, great vibe and good service. Sometimes it gets crowded but it is well worth it. The Pita Sabich is my absolute favorite.

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Terrible service, arrogant waiters and manager. They do not care about customers nor about people waiting in-line. They will take care of money before they will take care of you. Also, NONE of the workers, I repeat, NONE of them WEARS GLOVES when handling food. This place does a huge injustice to Israeli cuisine and hospitality.

Great food. Excellent service. The staff was super friendly. The menu is varied enough to please everybody.

Seattle is full of restaurants, but good Jewish food of any sort has been a long-standing lacuna. So when we, just back from Israel, heard of this place from a friend we had to check it out. Yummy. Not quite the spice profiles of Israel (hummous needs a little lemon, falafel needs less cumin, IMO), but damn close. The menu is a basic hummous joint of hummous with you-fill-in-the-blank. I had it with Shwarma meat and pine nuts, my wife had the falafel version, and we split the classic Israeli Salat (without onions in my case). We were full, happy, and almost back at Abu Shukri. Casual as heck. Service is charming. Price is very low, I have no idea how the owner/chef is making it on these prices. Go if you want Israeli-flavored food (and bad Israeli pop music in the background; just be glad you don't speak Hebrew, which I do, which makes the pop music more annoying, hee hee).

While most items on the menu are delicious, the Sabich is unbelievable. Perfectly cooked eggplant with an incredible of mix of ingredients in every single bite. It's mouth-watering. Make sure to try a hummus on the side, and most importantly, their shipka peppers.

Proper Hummus place where Hummus is the main dish. I highly recommend the Masabacha, Sabich, Saladt and Mallabi. I wish they'd do deliveries as well as open the restaurant on Sundays and Mondays.

The hummus bar has pretty much all street food in Israel in a cozy environment. There are dishes usually hard to find (e.g., msabbaha) and the vegetarian options are huge. Service is friendly. Definitely worth a repeat.

A little place in Capital Hill sits awaiting you to enjoy some of the best Mediterranean street food. We tried the masabach (who knew hummus was best warm!) pickled veggies, the best ever falafel and the fluffiest, soft pita. My mom who is normally on keto even had a cheat day so she could enjoy. It’s worth it!

I live a few blocks away and I love this place. I was told when I moved to Seattle that the hummus game was weak, but Aviv's hummus is great. The falafel sandwich is excellent, but the real gem is the Sabich (pronounced "sa-beet"), which is an Iraqi-Israeli delicacy I had not had before....delicious fried eggplant and sliced egg, hummus, tahina, cabbage, and some delicious relish I've only had before in the US at an Israeli-style falafel place back on the east coast. Also, the pita is pretty spectacular. Don't miss this spot if you're visiting or a Seattle local. It's a bit pricey for a pita sandwich ($11 or $12 for the Sabich), and they charge a 10% carryout fee, so you may as well cozy up at the counter and suck it up for this level of deliciousness.

“I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place for a relaxing meal. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to others!”

In one word : Awesome!! Well done ! Great humus, great falafel , ..the pita bread is the best only for that you need to visit :) and the authentic black cofee they make is excellent!! Staff is professional..attentive n friendly!! Im so happy friends recommended me this little place!!

I'm a big Lebanese fan and was pretty happy leaving here. The falafel is flavoursome, hummus nice and light, where everything is seasoned well. The "cheeps" are a nice touch with delicious seasoning. Maybe a little on the pricey side given other places around, but I will be back. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and the kitchen staff are all very chatty.

Delightful family run business. The atmosphere is bright and the kitchen, which is open, is clean as a whistle! I had never been to a restaurant that revolves around hummus—what a tasty surprise! The fresh quality and presentation of this humble chickpea spread elevates it to more than just a dip, served with the fluffiest most delicious pita I’ve ever had, truly a taste-treat. Try the falafel, the crispy herbaceous balls are crunchy & creamy. Featuring a mostly vegetarian fare (beef & egg add-ons are available) Aviv offers a filling plate. Absolutely a wonderful new addition to the Seattle restaurant scene.

Looking for a lighter, plant-based lunch option in Capitol Hill, I chose Aviv. Their menu primarily features hummus bowls, a popular style in Israel, topped with various ingredients. I ordered the Hummus Kruvit, which came with crispy, deep-fried cauliflower – definitely the highlight of the dish. I also added two falafel on the side. While the cauliflower was excellent, I found both the hummus and falafel to be just "good." The portion size was quite small; in fact, my friend asked if I was still hungry after I finished my meal. The restaurant's atmosphere is pretty minimalist. Ordering is done via a QR code that directs you to their website, and there's very limited table service. Despite this, a mandatory 10% service fee is added to the bill, and they still prompt for an additional tip, which felt a bit contradictory given the self-service model. My total came to almost $25, which seemed steep for the small portion, lack of traditional service, and minimal ambiance. While Aviv offers a convenient option for those seeking plant-based Israeli cuisine, potential diners should be aware of the pricing and service structure.

Wow! Just wonderful pita and hummus. I have never been a big fan of hummus and pitas I’ve eaten have been pretty awf. Aviv changed all that for me. We go when we are in the area.

What great food. Friends invited us here and I have to admit, we would never have entered it ourselves as the looks are not a good indication of the quality of the food. We are on a 5-week road trip, and this restaurant is for the kids and me as one of the top 3 best paces were we have eaten. Not sure why if has so few reviews.

Great for what it said it was, sort of Mediterranean almost vegetarian, but they did have one meat dish made from ground beef I think.

Aviv Hummus Bar has really good Israeli food if you are interested in hummus and falafel. Everything was really tasty and the wait staff was great. The only downside to the restaurant is the limited menu. If you are not in the mood for hummus and falafel there is not much else on the menu. Definitely worth a try though.

Went for dinner. I had the hummus shakshuka - a poached egg basking in a hearty tomato pepper stew - which was excellent. Try the Goldstar dark lager - an Israeli beer and finish off the meal with a glass of arak and a Turkish coffee. Yum! And the staff are extremely friendly.

Aviv offers game changing hummus, falafel and pita. You may think: what could they possibly do to make a better pita or better falafel or hummus??? Well, the pita is thicker and more airy then any hummus you have had in the U.S. The hummus is a great balance between chickpea and tahini. The falafel is lighter and more savory. Add in a modern, minimalistic space, good equipment and excellent service and it is clear that Aviv has got to be your go-to eastern Capitol Hill spot for Israeli standards.

This is a small eatery specializing in Middle Eastern fast food, and was doing a brisk business, both inside and takeout. The service and servings were quick, the food delicious.

This is a terrific restaurant for vegetarians. So many delicious flavors and items on the menu. Highly recommend!
Disappointing - don't order the hummus
For a place that declares itself a hummus bar, this was some of the most average hummus I've ever eaten. The light, whipped texture was a nice surprise, but it tasted like tahini and nothing else. No cumin, garlic or citrus flavours. The babaganoush was nicely smokey but it tasted like it had been filled with some sort of dairy or maybe mayonnaise. The labneh was good. I'm afraid if they can't get their cornerstone dish right, its not worth returning to try more. I'm giving them a two for the friendly staff and well packaged takeout.
