TOO DELICIOUS THE DISHES, FRESH AND ABUNDANT PORTIONS OF FOOD. THE ATTENTION IS VERY SPECIAL.

McSoondooboo

I used to come here after midnight; no queue. The food is always good, and a lot of food. I always order the set menu. Aloooooot of side dishes. If you order a meal, you also get a fish (side dish). Fast service. Price is ok (below $20). The restaurant is always full.

If you like tofu in Korean cuisine, then be sure to try this place. My friend had fried Corvina and I had the BBQ short ribs--both fantastic. The small dishes that came as part of our order included kimchee, clam kimchee, seaweed & sesame salad and pickle chips. The service was friendly and helpful in making selections and be sure to put your hunger on before you come here. Great food and a great experience in asian cuisine. Go Korean Food!!

Plentiful food! Bibimbap and other dishes. Service is quick. I don't think they are open 24 hours like the sign says, but they are definitely open early and make an outstanding breakfast choice.

If this place wasn’t open 24 hours and had Free Parking -I don’t think it would be nearly as popular. Food: it’s not even as close to good as some of the nearby Korean bbq places. And for the price they charge you would expect much better quality meat. Service and Ambience: if it’s 3am and you just wanna eat, then I suppose you wouldn’t mind the fluorescent lighting and could care less staff. But why go here when you could just go down the street and get a cool place, better service, and tastier food. Again, the parking and hours are great but if you’re not in a rush go somewhere else!

Go there for Tofu Soup and Galbi. Very delicious. We go there twice during our trip to LA. Service is casual but very professional.

The Tofu soup was amazing but the Bulgogi was only so so. I love this place. The service was great just like many others with nice old Korean ladies. What struck me was the atmosphere. It was quite busy and lively. The kimchi was very good but I didn't care for the new fried garlic tofu dish.

The Service: Super efficient and attentive!! Love the 24/7 store hours!! If you are craving for Korean food anytime of the day.... this is the place to go!! The Food: The moment I sat down.... the side dishes were served. The soon tofu was served steaming hot! Love it~ The rice is served in the stone pot. The server will help to scope the rice into a bowl for you. Then they pour water in the stone pot... then you have rice soup too! The Parking: Huge private parking lot (free) Photo of BCD Tofu House - Los Angeles, CA, United States

The popular place for tofu soup although not as healthy as they claim. But on a cold or rainy day satisfies the tummy.

Always open. I like their vegetable tofu soup.

I like BCD Tofu! I usually order seafood tofu soup. It comes with little dishes like, kimchi, vinegared seaweed, fried fish, and stuff. A lady will serve the rice made in stone pot for you, so do not touch it until she does her thing. Also, the stone pot creates burned/browned rice on the bottom which will be served by adding hot water to make it soft and soup like. Over all, very good soup and rice combo- :)

Got the Soon (soft tofu) with seafood and the Bibimbap hot stone with all the side dishes. Good value for the money.

We knew the house in New York and we expected the same food quality and environment. But we thought this place very narrowed, there was not space between tables, very crowded (we went there 2 times in different days of the week and different hours for dinner). Maybe this influenced our perception of food quality, but we found it just fine, as well as the service.

Their tofu is simply the best! Whether it's in a salad, fried or in the soup! Yum yum yum! Good for hangovers too. It's our go-to place in Koreatown 😄

The food is tasty. The service is fast and efficient. The atmosphere is nice and clean. The price is good $$.

BCD Western branch is always decent or better each tume i go...good to order combo menu most often i order raw spicy crab and kalbi. If you love soft tofu and spicy this place is for you...you may wait long time for table

Have you ever been to restaurant where they were good but they start going down hill because they mass produce the food? Well sad to say but Tofu House is becoming one of them. We love this place but tonight the food was terrible .😩 The teriyaki chicken and Kalbi had NO flavor, the onions were not cooked at all cause the sizzling plate it was on had no sizzle(the plate wasn’t even hot). Sad, but I won’t be coming back!

There’s only one thing I love more at this restaurant than their super delicious soon tofu soup. This is what they specialize in. It’s crazy delicious and a great price. The one thing that is better is that they’re open 24 hours a day. We stopped by for a 3 AM snack and the place was busy.

The BBQ chicken is HOT. I have to admit I should have listened to the server, and not ordered it . You only get what they serve, no Changes. the meal was quick, it was a lot of food, in my world the tofu soup was suficent to keep my stomach happy

I always have to stop by BCD tofu house in any city. Mind you, LA has many great late night eats, but if your looking for good cheap food, this is where you go. The staff is on top of it and know what they're doing. Every type of soft tofu soup and side galore. Having a spoiled palate when it comes to korean food, this place doesnt disappoint. I highly reccomend this spot if your hungry and up late.

Went to BCD for the first time on the recommendation of a friend in Korean Town. We did not know what we were in for but were pleasantly surprised. The meal starts off with kimchee, marinated black beans, fried fish, pickles, fried tofu, and marinated clams. We were also served hot rice in rock pots and two raw eggs, which we did not know what to do with. The waitress said she would help us. We each ordered a seafood based soup and an order of bulgogi. When the boiling hot soup was brought to our table, the waitress said to crack the egg into the soup. The egg was cooked in the boiling soup! The rice was excellent and after our dinner was almost done, the waiter put tea in the rock pot and scraped out the rice sticking to the sides for a tea rice soup. Tofu soup was delicious as was the bulgogi. The price was also right, $10 for the soup and $20 for the soup and bulgogi combo. Went for dinner and the place was crowded, but we did not have to wait for a table. Wait staff was attentive. Hey, no matter what time you want some tofu soup, stop by this BCD as they are open 24 hours a day!

Since my family and I were hungry at 10 pm, we decided to try Korean food at BCD Tofu House in Koreatown. The restaurant is 24 hours, meaning it is suitable for people willing to eat a late-night meal that is healthy and NOT junk food. When I entered the restaurant, it was crowded with hungry guests. I ordered chicken teriyaki and Sausage-Ham-and Cheese Tofu (spice level at a medium). Firstly, we were served complimentary mackerel that contained bones. Despite the fish not being filet, the fish was flaky and salty enough to taste delicious. The Sausage-Ham-and-Cheese-Tofu tasted savory and delicious; the dish tasted better with the complimentary rice. When the chicken teriyaki dish came out, the first thing I noticed is the humongous portion of the dish that the chicken did not fit the entire hot plate. I believe the portion of the chicken teriyaki dish should be lowered to ensure that the meal fits the entire hot plate. Despite the oversized portion, the grilled chicken tasted delicious; it tasted better with the rice. The servers in the restaurant were not as interactive and kind as I expected, but the servers were not rude either. In addition, a huge parking lot is on the restaurant's property, so there are many parking spaces available, especially at midnight. For those who want to eat after ending a late night shift from work or want a meal during the late night, I recommend trying BCD Tofu House.

I stopped by while in the area as the restaurant looked promising and was open. Service throughout was fairly decent but not especially proactive, especially when it came to water refills. The Soon Tofu soup was great, the tofu is extremely soft and silky and the soup at medium heat is spicy but not overpowering with spice. They have raw eggs to crack in the soup and though it may feel undercooked, the egg is safe to eat. The spicy pork bulgogi and the spicy raw crab were nice and flavourful and both dishes had solid portion sizes. The accompanying rice was cooked well in both instances as were the side dishes. The kimchi however was sort of bland and not all that flavourful. It's not super cheap, but it's a very good option if you're looking for authentic Korean cuisine.

This is the first time i had Korean foods. My friends brought me here to check out the foods. This restaurant is well decorated, good atmosphere. Well, foods are delicious especially seafood. Service is kidda bad, may be due to busy hour. Car parking is available. Worth a try. Check out the photos.

24-hour tofu soup spot with multiple locations in LA/OC. Came here with a group of 5 after the Korean spa around 6:30pm on a Sunday and it was about a 40 minute wait. You put your name on the Yelp waitlist and can’t leave the building if you parked in their parking lot. The parking attendant was aggressive in hunting people who even appeared to be leaving the parking lot. The brusque attitude is a bit off-putting but at least he takes his job seriously. Credit cards accepted. I would recommend getting a combo if you’re hungry do you can get a meat dish as well as the tofu soup. I got the bulgogi and the dumpling tofu soup. You’re given a fried fish dish with other banchan at the beginning before your meal comes. You can customize the level of spiciness. You’re given white rice and they do the hot water thing where they pour it into your empty bowl of rice.

BCD tofu house is one of the largest chain restaurant selling korean tofu that I know of in LA. But that doesn't affect their food. Similar to any Korean tofu restaurant, they will provide sides dishes and Korean pickles, which, I thought the taste is just average. However, I love their fish side dish (fried Spanish mackerel) It is just extremely delicious. The main dishes are fantastic. I have had the bulgogi, the fish combo, the ribeye steak and etc., and they are all very delicious meat with some juicy yummy quality on their food. And, overall price is not expensive at all with the quality of food you are getting. I would definitely go from time to time!

This tofu house was an unexpected surprise. The tofu soups were delicious! To add they include hot stone rice, and kimchi side dishes with each order! The kimchi dumplings are a great appetizer! The staff is OK but the food makea up for it. Awesome little gem.

soo good after clubs/bars. they open 24 hours!! what can be better?

Every time i come to Los Angeles I'll eat here at least once! I always order a soondubu(spicy tofu soup) combination plate(spicy pork, teriyaki chicken, bbq beef, or bbq short ribs). The food here is delicious and they give a lot of different side dishes. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and fast. There's a large parking lot so you'll never have to worry about parking. I love this place!

This is very well-known korean tofu restaurant inside Korean town. The food is good while the service is fast. The place can be very busy, but open 24 hours a day. I ate there at 6 am and still about 14 people at the restaurant.

Don't get the fascination with SoonDooBoo. But even if your into it, this place is still mediocre. Hop over to Ondal 2 in K-Town instead for the bomb a$$ spicy crab soup.

We came here at 10.30 am. It works 24/7! And actually this is an amazing place for korean food funs ;). The table you will be seated is directly depends on servant who is a man only!) So, we seems were not that attractive, therefore our table was attached to the dirty wall. New commers - please be patient 1😁😁😁, cause the ascetic service with running around waitresses is a type of culture? i think, to make you eat faster and leave faster. But all these are matters nothing when you start getting the complimentary set of magician chief cooker and your chosen main course. I decided to order Soon Tofu Soup with dumplings, and i would say it is better even then my mum cooks! 😋😋😋😍 and you know that Mum is the one that nobody can bet))). So, i recommend to those who really love taste and not the services. Ps: we left tips as 25% - for taste!!!

I really like the side dishes that you receive before your main dish arrives. I order the beef bibimbap hot bowl because I enjoy the scorched rice on the bottom. If you're not into spicy food than there food is really great because you can adjust the level of spiciness. It can be crowded during lunchtime so it's best to go before noon or after 1:30 p.m.

abstolutely the best korean food and food in general. i could eat here every day.

We have tried BCD in many other places including NYC and NJ … but tbh this location in LA is the worst in terms of poor service, terrible sanitation, etc. They are many guests but not even super busy. We expected more because they say it is the original, but what a disappointment.

It used to be much better but now it is very crowded and the service is very inattentive. The food used to be better but still it's ok. Soon Tofu is good for cold weathers.

Went on a weekday evening. The place was packed but there was still a few tables left. We were seated promptly and had our meal within 30 minutes. The tofu soup is delicious. The bibimbap was unfortunately average at best. Would still recommend for the great main course.

if you're into hot and spicy soup with soft tofu, you're gonna love this place.

We ordered few different kinds of Tofu soups. it's about $7+ for soups and $13+ for combos which consist of soup and rice or noodle dish. Prices are very resonable and food is good. Side dish are just okay. They serve you eggs with soups, crack it open while your soup is hot and put it in (something that wasn't explained to us).. This place is a chain.

Love the hot, spicy vegetable tofu soup. Yummmmmm....

I am truly addicted to this Korean soon tofu soup. And BCD tofu house makes it the best! This place is open all day, all night, all the time, always good, always great service, and the soup is a flavor that I am addicted. I can't wait to be back again.

Love that this place is open 24 hours a day. And it’s busy 24 hours a day. The tofu soup is out of this world delicious. I crave it often so this is the place for total satisfaction. Quick service. Low price. Great food.

I've been here many times and the food is always good. I usually get either combo galbi or combo bulgogi, it comes with soon tofu (pick of of those), rice and banchan (kimchi, raw egg for soon tofu, small fish etc). Service is pretty good even though some don't really speak english but they do their job properly. Price wise is cheap for the amount of food you get. This restaurant gets busy easily during dinner and weekend, it has its own parking lot, free and spacious.

always a guarantee satisfaction of soon do bo :) since its a chain you can't really go wrong.

Visited here for dinner on recommendation from a friend who lives in LA. BCD Tofu House is a chain and this was the closest to our hotel. Food here is so delicious and everyone in my family enjoyed their dishes.Must try if you want to eat Korean cuisine.

Amazing Tofu Pots, authentic Korean food service and delicious Kimchi. Not a fan of the losing the last bit of rice by servers pouring hot water into the rice bowl, but I guess can't take the good without the bad.

I read back in 2012 that the owner has her tofu receepie so good that she exports her dishes to mail and Korea, so after reading about it I brought my three girls and wife. My best sugestión is go with the vegetarian dishes first until you a climate yourself with the cousine. The best experience would be to come in a group of 4 or 6 and each orders something different and try it. Today for me is the Bulgogi meat combo. Be careful with the dishes since they are beyond boiling, an defenetely wait at least 10 minutes to things cool down With this combo the rice comes in an extra boiling container, and if you like the crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot, don't let the waitress put woter in it (some make a sup) The see food sup comes boiling so again take your time and enjoy a good conversation with your friends

This tofu house runs 24/7, and it has its own parking. It is cheap (~$16 for a meat and tofu combo), and the portion is good. Recommend the short ribs, the bulgogi (probably did not spell it right... it is the marinated sliced beef, super delicious), and kimchi tofu soap. Do not recommend the teriyaki chicken (not a BCD specialty); you can get better at flame boiler. I would not go during meal time, because there always is a line.

Went here last year this day.. had a blast eating good food with family and friends.. cozy place and their waiters are very friendly

This Koreatown restaurant is very popular and the food is very good as well as being reasonably priced for what you get.

The food was great tho' you grill your own. It was fun and plentiful. A must go to. The price is right too.

We came with a large party for a family celebration. We couldn't have asked for better service. Portions were generous and yummy.

Imagine... at 3:00am when we arrived, this large restaurant was packed with people. Immediate seating though. The Kimchi Tofu Soups are very delicious with many sides... all for $10! Open 24/7.

The spicy tofu and clam soup...AMAZING!

The best Korean tofu soup and side dishes. The side dishes itself will stuff you. The place is packed but they managed to give us a table and provided great service. I will be back!!!!

Be prepared for the fish with the head on it and fins too. I've never been to Korea but I'd think this is what it's like.

friendly service..food is good if you like tofu, seafood in your soup..

Very good food and fast service at a responsible price. If you want great Korean food than this is the place to eat in this part of L.A.

Recommended korean food in the city...ordered the Galbi Combo, and blown away by it's taste...so delicious

Just finished dinner here. One of our go to places as the food is always good. I know they have things like bbq and other items on the menu, but you have to eat what they are known for, the hot tofu stew.

When my sons and nine of their closest friends decided to go to BCD in Koreatown at 11 p.m. on a Sunday night, I expected something vaguely Chinese-ish with dishes you passed around and shared. So this was quite an experience. Big bowls of bubbling soup-like substance into which one breaks one's own personal raw egg and cooks it at the table. Rice on the side to mix in, and then finished with a chaser of rice broth used to get the last bits of rice out of the serving/cooking bowls. And they gave us 12 separate checks. Price was dead low for quite a lot of food. If you are a tofu connoisseur, I have no idea how this place would rate, but I found it one of the more interesting and different dining experiences I've had in many years.

I'm lucky to live next door to a Korean woman who takes me to these wonderful Korean places; and we went back again to BCD Tofu House yesterday. What a WOW; all those small dishes of kim chee, pickle, noodles, things I didn't know and then the Spicy Crab! - unforgettable. good service; the place is big, but it never seems overwhelming; parking lot in back/on the side. I'm still salivating over last night's meal. And they have restaurants all around the LA area and on the East coast too. Make this your fist stop!

We met up with family who live in LA. They go there often and consider it to be reliably very good. The kalbi is very very good and so is the bibimbap. The tofu stew that it is famous for is excellent. The food is fresh, plentiful, and comes out pretty quickly… all pretty reasonably priced.

This is not my first time in BCD Tofu House and I keep on coming back to this place because of good food and service.

From the kimchi to the tofu soup to the bulgogi and kalbi, everything at BCD Tofu house was amazing and just about the best Korean food I've ever experienced. It is open 24/7 and their busiest times are 1:00 AM, but they're busy all the time so be prepared to wait for a table. It's worth it, though, for the food quality.

great during cold weather~

Open 24 hours, this place is always crowded because it's so good. I enjoy Korean BBQ but I don't always like going to the smaller places where you grill the food yourself and end up smelling like Korean BBQ for the rest of the night. Don't get me wrong, I love those places too, but sometimes it's nice to just have your Korean BBQ cooked for you and brought to your table. The Wilshire location is my favorite. It was recently remodeled and expanded. Free parking lot there too. I love their tofu soup so I always order a combo to make sure I get it. If I start to feel like a cold is coming on, I run and get the soup (medium spicy) and it fixes me right up. I bring out of town guests here and they always enjoy it. It's a great place to introduce people to Korean BBQ.

They offer everything Korean, but you come here for the tofu stew. It is a generous serving of soft tofu in a bowl of spicy brother, and your choice of meat, if desired. As expected, they serve you with a generous selection of nibblies right after you order, including a full, fried fish. Excellent value, and they also have stew packs for sale in fridges by the door in case you'd like to make some for yourself at home.

If you find yourself in Koreatown (or honestly anywhere in LA, it's worth the trip) make time for BCD. We showed up on a busy night and the place was packed. We received a warm greeting and only waited a few minutes for our table (to our surprise - because again, the place was PACKED). It's got a fun diner feel, super casual but also pretty authentic. And the vegetarian bibimbap was absolutely perfect. Amazing comfort food on a cold night. It was a highlight of our last trip to LA and I'm counting down the days til I get to go back.

I tried this place as it is a very popular restaurant in Los Angeles. I had the regular Soon Tofu Beef soup. It was extremely bland, tasted watered down, and did not have the richness of flavor expected. The reason why it receives a 2 star is because the banchan (side dishes) were very good - the squid jutgal, radish, and kimchi were flavorful. But the soup itself was very poor quality, and I would not return to this restaurant again.

awesome when you're drunk!

There is nothing better than to have a hot and spicy soup in a chilling evening. While BCD serves very delicious traditional Korean soup, its heat really get my system going after being frozen from a chilling night. There are plenty of seats available and the quick service leaves us no time to wait. And it is healthy too.

One of my favourite food was tofu and their sundobu is one of the best! The small dishes were great too and they gave plenty. Come early if you dont want to que too long

I like BCD Tofu House. It's cheap, you get tons of food especially with the ban chan. And its' 24 hours!! Why would you have to go to crappy fast food?!

Nice Tofu Place! Better than other tofu places in Korea. Not only koreans but other people will love this place for sure!

When you need soondubu (spicy Korean tofu soup) or beef bulgogi at 4 AM, BCD is open 24 hours at their two Koreatown locations; however, the Wilshire shop is generally better in terms of area safety, available parking, and convenience. It doesn't hurt that BCD has some of the best soondubu in town, either, including a vegetable option that many other "tofu houses" don't offer.

A friend introduced me to this place. It stays busy, even late at night. Good food, decent service and a friendly atmosphere. If you are in a quandary as to which of many Korean restaurants to try in Korea Town, this one is a solid choice.

Ordered hot stone bibimbap, Gallo, spicy pork lunch combos. Dumpling soon tofu soup , several kimchi sides including a small fried fish. Didn't realize that we had to crack fresh egg into the soup. Mixed up bibimbap entree. Everything was tasty. Service was quick.

always open. the combination menus are good as it's something my favorite tofu place doesn't have.

good soontofu

The first thing that stood out to me, was that it was one of the few places that was open 24 hours and that wasn't a diner. It allows another option for a different cuisine and I was really happy to know that. Their dishes are authentic, and you can usually tell a Korean restaurant is really good, by how good their kimchi tastes. Of course, this is just what people from Korea have told me. We ordered bulgogi beef along with some kimchi dumplings and soups. I highly recommend their "Fried Kimchi Dumplings", not their other one, as the other is a bit too slimy in texture while the fried one sets a balance between crunchy and soft. Their kimchi soup was very delicious. Their portions for the food are not big, but enough to call a meal, which is perfectly okay due to the quality of their food. You can tell it's been made with much love and attention to detail not only in terms of presentation and the tasting of many flavors. I would recommend trying it out at least once, and if you do like it, there are definitely more items to order for the next time around. I definitely see myself coming back. Tip: If you think you might need a reservation, do let them know ahead of time. Because it is one of the few places open 24 hours and that isn't a diner, it flocks with people so you might want to make sure there's a seat available for you and your party when you come.

Organic tofu. Tofu soup, tofu salad and cold soybean noodle, my favorite. If you are not too crazy about tofu then you can order korean bbq, fish, and some other dishes. Its easy to order because everything has pictures. Its a busy korean restaurant so dont expect great service. Food is delicious! Yumm yumm

Excellent Korean tofu that is open super late in the evening. Their pickled side dishes aren't as varied as other Korean tofu places but the food is consistently good. The short rib dish was delicious, I polished the plate almost by myself. You also get a breaded fried fish too. I would've ordered soju but we'd been drinking earlier.

Boiling hot Soon du Boo served 24 hours a day. Always packed.

After living in Korea, at times I get a craving for the food that can be cured only by downing a bowl of bibimbap. As a vegetarian, that’s one of the few things I can reliably count on. Unfortunately, Tofu House does it wrong: a proper bibimbap is a big metal bowl of rice, with finely cut vegetables arrayed on top, a dollop of hot pepper sauce, and a fried egg over all. What Tofu House gives you is a bowl with vegetables at the bottom and a stone bowl of rice on the side. The pepper sauce is in a ketchup squeeze bottle. And the “egg” is precooked and in strips along with the veggies. That disappointment aside, the food is of excellent quality. I had the bibimbap combo, which came with a spicy hot, boiling hot vegetable-tofu soup. Side dishes were sparse, but the kimchi was superb. We arrived at 11:45 AM and easily found a booth, but after noon the place was packed (we were the only non-Koreans there). The Wilshire branch is at ground zero of LA’s Koreatown and its popularity with the locals attests to its quality and reasonable prices.

This is a great Korean restaurant in Koreatown. Easy to see from the street, free parking lot, and price is reasonable. Food is authentic and tastes great! Side dishes not as plentiful as other Korean restaurants, and since I’m not a pickled person, can’t comment that much. Tofu is organic! Wonderful.

This was my first experience at a tofu house and I loved it. The small plate starters were delicious. And I loved that the soup comes out boiling and then they crack an egg in it. I'm excited to try the one in NY.

Nice and hot Korean food after hours. The soon tofu is a must! The Galbi is so delicious. Service is average but a lot better than their on Western.

Best tofu soup ever, it will melt in your mouth. Great other menu options, portions are big. I think the service is good considering this is a very busy rest in the heart of Koreatown. Another thing: it is open all night, so it is a great choice rather than Dennis or any other fast food for a late night snack or dinner after 2:00am! Tip: Served eggs are not boiled eggs, are RAW eggs to pour over the very hot soup and then stir it, the stirring and heat of the soup will cook the egg.

We went to lunch here on Christmas Day and the lines were long. Luckily the wait was only about 15 minutes and the patio seemed relatively new and had ample bench seating and lots of space to stand. Inside all the tables were packed full. The hostess led us all the way to the back corner of the restaurant. The table was still being setup and it took a few more minutes before we got a full set of utensils and napkins. Environment- a little dated but functional. Service-needs improvement. Very brusque. Took awhile to take order. Food delivered relatively quickly but in batches. Had to move the plates around to find space for the server to put down our food. Server then scooped some of our rice into smaller bowls but stopped when ran out of bowls. Had to serve rest on our own. Also poured hot tea into the three of the four rice pots in order to make a rice porridge but when our server ran out of hot tea she left. Food-We ordered the combination assorted tofu with spicy pork (a little too much sauce) and another with Kalbi (very good but only five pieces). We also ordered the seafood tofu (came with one shrimp, two clams, pieces of beef) and dumpling tofu (only two dumplings). Our orders also came with one fried fish (not sure of the type) for each of us. That fish was very good but watch out for the small bones. We also received a few small plates with Kim chi (just so-so), pickles, and bean curd slices (our favorite). Price-A little cheaper than similar places up north. About $11 each for the tofu dishes, $19 for the pork/tofu combo and $22 for the kalbi/tofu combo. Parking - big lot but a little tight to park. There was a security guard posted and watching the lot from under an umbrella. Not sure yet if a return visit is worth it.

Very nice restaurant, delicious foods. Long queing but the staff respond well. The best tofu restaurant in LA. The location strategic also enough parking place

live up to the BCD tofu franchise name, nothing spectacular but very solid tofu soup. causal and fast service

No wonder this is voted 4 best restaurant in LA, on TripAdvisor, and I must say we were not disappointed, from the moment we were greeted warmly at the door and shown to our seats and our meals being brought out was just glorious. If you are vegan, vegetarian or a meat or fish lover there is quality as well as quantity of all the above. Sticking to their traditional roots of bringing out side dishes to go with your meal was a taste bud experience. Flavours were bursting, popping tantalising your tastebuds all at once. All our meals came out so fast, so hot and most importantly so very, very fresh. I’ve had Korean food before but this restaurant takes it to a whole new level. I highly, highly, highly recommend a visit and yes we most certainly will be going back. When food is prepared with love and passion how can you possibly go wrong.

3 of 4 times I've been there I felt snubbed by their impatient and rude servers...but I keep going back because the food is good

Good deal.

Great ban chan, sundubu and mandu. Efficient service and good atmosphere. If you love Korean food it feels like home. Never had Korean?.... This is the place to get a feel for traditional Korean food.

FOOD: This is a bold assessment, but I've been to many specialty houses for tofu stew, East and West coast: --->>> BCD on Western Ave in LA is the best. Best preparation of tofu, most flavorful rich tofu broth. Different from their Wilshire branch or the others around the country. I typically have their seafood soon tofu, mild spicyness, with galbi. Great with warm clear bowls of water. --- One of my favorite meals ever. ATMOSPHERE: Focused on food, efficiency. OVERALL. I try to come here at least once per trip. . I wish they would add a mushroom stew to their menu.

One of the best Korean restaurants that I visited. I love the extra spicy soup and of course the barbecue :) The place is kinda crowded though,,

We went here for lunch yesterday and ordered the galbi which is marinated beef ribs. These ribs are absolutely delicious. This dish cost $18.99 and is one of the more expensive dishes on the menu. The ribs also come with a large order of rice in a clay pot. While waiting for your main dish to arrive you receive several appetizers which are included in the price. There is a small whole cooked fish (about 6 or 7 inches long), kimchi (which is a cabbage with spicy sauce), cooked soybeans, some pickles on ice and another dish which looks like thin noodles but may be made of some sort of pickled cabbage. I'm not sure. I know for some people the appetizers are very important. For me it is all about the ribs. They are open 24 hours! Give this place a try.

Everything here is extremely good and the hot pots are soul warmingly good. The restaurant serves excellent Korean food at a very reasonable price and the food comes out very fast. Be prepare to wait if you go on a weekend night as there's always a long line.

Outdoor dining was definitely pleasant & rice were good. The rest were bland and dry. Flies all over the place.........

BCD tofu house made the Korean style tofu soup and bbq as a standard process. And the best thing is this place open 24 hour! I prefer to come after 2 PM when you are tired after leave a club.

Not much on ambience, but you can't beat the eats.

BCD used to be my favorite place. I used to eat here every time I came to LA. Now I live in LA and I rarely go here. First, the food quality has gone down dramatically. I don't know what happened but it is not as delicious as before. Second, service is super bad. They will just throw you the food and the check. Not professional. Also, price is more expensive than before and it is supercrowded. Another thing is that they don't apologize. I had servers make mistake and I usually don't make a big deal about things but now it has come to a point that they seem rude and they don't care. If you like hot tofu soup, this is still a good place but with all the downsides, it is not as good as before and there are better restaurants in K-Town.

This Korean restaurant was featured on Anthony Bourdain's tv show recently, which prompted us to try it when we came to L.A. The menu was better & more varied than on tv. I'm vegan & my boyfriend is a carnivore, so it's sometimes hard to find restaurants for us to share, but BCD nailed it. We had the famous tofu soup featured on tv (my soup w/mushrooms& onions, his w/pork & chilies). I chose mine mildly spiced & minus egg, his was higher on the Capsaicin Scale (reeeeally spicy), & we both loved it. They use organic Soon Tofu, not the firm kind, but soft & silky, so it gives the soup a creamy texture. As for entrees, even my boyfriend wasn't brave enough for the oddly named 'tofu with small intestines', instead he got chicken teriyaki & I had Hot Stone Bibimbap (asst vegetables on a sort of hot stone platter), & we both enjoyed our meals. Can't wait to try the BCD in NYC, which as a native New Yawka, I'm ashamed to admit I never knew existed til the waiter told us about it. I'll review the NY branch as soon as we go there.

Amazing food. Got there before dinner rush hour around 6pm, so we only waited 10 minutes for a table. Sat down and got waters on the table immediately and someone coming around to get our order. Order came in a little more than 5 minutes, everything was hot and tasty! Definitely would recommend.

This is place is usually very busy. It is one of the few places in Koreatown that is open 24 hours. Depending on the time of day, there is usually a bit of a wait but you will get seated in an average of 15 mins. The food is very good and good portion sizes. The staff is ok, they are not the friendliest bunch, but if there is an issue with your food they will do their best to help you.

descent korean bbq

Ordered the Bibimbap with the spicy tofu soup. Restaurant was filled mostly with Asians. The meat portion in my hot pot was underwhelming t but otherwise it was a satisfying meal. Free flow sides.

This review is only for a to-go order. My guy and I had heard from friends around town that this place is fantastic for Korean food, and as a vegetarian (95% of the time vegan), I had been saddened to discover that so many Korean places in my neighborhood (I live in K-town) are BBQ-centric. I do like Korean food, but find myself stymied by the lack of veg options in my part of K-town. So, we decided to get some take-out from here one evening. We'd have eaten inside, but we'd just picked up our cat on the way from the vet and didn't feel it was very kind to leave her sitting outside in the car on a sort of chilly night while we ate inside a restaurant! Too bad, though... inside, it was very nice, with sumptuous decoration and an amazingly serene ambiance despite the large amount of people inside eating and talking. We both got soon tofu, which is a spicy tofu soup. He got his with pork, I got mine with veggies. He also got some BBQ, because he'd been dying for some... weirdly, a lot of Korean BBQ joints in K-town are all-you-can-eat only, and will not allow a lone diner to come in and eat -- they serve to groups of two or more. Since there's nothing much for me to eat at those places, he'd been deprived of Korean BBQ for awhile. We both asked for our soups to be made spicy, and he said his was nice and spicy, whereas mine was mysteriously not spicy. Like, not at all. I went ahead and put some sambal oelek in it at home, which helped. I liked the flavor, but I'm not so keen on soft tofu, and I wished that there were more vegetables in my soup -- it was mostly liquid and tofu. I will likely eat there again, but insist that they put more vegetables in my soup, and ask for them to seriously make it spicy for me. I think that would have made up for the tofu not being my favorite consistency. Either that, or I'll get the tofu salad, which has fried tofu and sounds really good, or the bibimbap minus the egg plus some fried tofu. My fiance liked his soup a lot and said the dweji bulgogi was fantastic and melted in his mouth. He thinks he would probably just get those things again were we to go again. The price was okay, maybe a bit higher than other Korean restaurants in the area, but they're a very popular place and the interior is a bit more upscale. It took them about 15-20 minutes to prepare our food, get it packed for takeout, and ring us out, so I'd say that their service would likely be very quick, too. The cool thing is that they're open 24/7, so you can sate a craving for Korean food anytime you get the hankering. Also, and this is especially nice for the neighborhood, there is a big parking lot, not a garage, where there are generally open spaces... even at dinner rush! It appears to be handicapped-accessible, so good on them for that. It seemed that all kinds of diners were here... families, even ones with little kids... couples... Koreans, Korean-Americans, other Asians, Anglos, Hispanics, African-Americans... It seems that this yummy restaurant is much-beloved by everyone in the area! If you're in Koreatown, come find out why that is, and enjoy part of the special experience of our neighborhood!

One of the best of the many Korean restaurants in Los Angeles. Try one of their excellent spicy soups. I make sure we visit this location every time we get to Los Angeles. You won't be disappointed.

first Korean restaurant I have been. Not as good as other Korean restaurants around

I actually didn't know there is one in NYC so this is my first visit to BCD and it was easily the best meal and best time I had in LA. For starters get the tofu pot. You're in a tofu house, so duh. But no kidding, this is easily the best part of the dinner. I got the bbq pork so it came with rice and this tofu pot and that is really enough. Don't order any appetizers because they already give you these free dishes like kimchi. Also love the free parking. Price is terrific considering the money I spent on other restaurants here especially the hotel restaurant. For a 24 hours place, the food here is amazing. Service is eh, but I don't really care because the food is just spectacular.

I recently dined at BCD Tofu House in and had a fantastic experience. The tofu soup was flavorful and the side dishes were delicious. The service was attentive and the restaurant had a welcoming atmosphere. The only downside was that it can get busy during peak hours. delicious Korean cuisine at a great value.

This is my comfort food! What did I do before this?!!

really good. always crowded. popular

OK, so it looks like a fast food place, SO WHAT? Great eats, really, solid home-style Korean food. Super Ban Chan, INCREDIBLE Galbi (you pay dearly for it), and hot pots that can burn your entire gastric system if you order spicy! What's not to like. Service is so-so but who cares, these folks could serve out of a gutter and I'd still go there. So when are you moving to Ventura County-we need you!!!!

when you order hot, it is really hot. portions are large - 2 meals will feed 3 persons. the food is above average

I had the ham and sausage soondubu, which was pretty good. The banchan also tasty, but were different than what I'm used to (being from Missouri). I enjoyed my meal here.

If you are near or in Koreantown, you should go to the BCD Tofu House restaurant! And be ready for a tasty surprise. The dishes are plentiful, so pace yourself. Some wait staff speaks English, so no problem with ordering from the menu. Some dishes can be very spicy hot Korean style!

good fast korean

For Koreans, this is a must eat location for their SooDobu meal cravings. There's a wide variety of soup types, including seafood, traditional. Food is always excellent and served pretty quickly. They're open 24 hour.

we ate BBQ for 3 hours ..all the disges for $250k for 5 people & we did it all . many side dishes & great service. Terrific

Overpriced and crowded. Food is subpar although plentiful. Service is slow. Find somewhere else to go.

famous for their portion of MSG usage.

I really enjoyed my tofu soup with 1 fresh egg to go with it. I think this is their delicacy and made them famous. The restaurant is open 24 hours. Service is very efficient and quick. The place is clean It's very busy though and getting crowded, you need to wait outside, you will be given a ticket , and they will call your no if there's an available table. There's a lot to choose from the menu selection. The Bulgogi and the chicken teriyaki is really nice. Every korean restaurant is different, this one is definitely the good one so far..

A go to place near downtown after a long day of work. Although always pack they keep the place clean, cool, and fast. My fav are the seasonal side dishes. The portions are always very filling. Sometimes the refill service is slow. Don't be shy to yell out for attention it can be noisyin there. Open till at least 1 am. Another plus is the secured free parking in their own lot. Super convenient.

First time visiting BCD Tofu House. The food was delicious, service was efficient. Our group shared our food and had a enjoyable time visiting and eating. More than enough food at a reasonable price.

I really wanted this meal to be nice and exciting, but it ended up being really dull. There are some vegetarian options but not many, and it appears those are far less interesting and tasty than the meat and fish dishes. The tofu house name is deceiving as I expected it to be mostly vegetarian friendly but sadly it wasn't. The fish dish my friend had looked and smelt far more interesting so I'm guessing the trick here is to not be a veg.

I dined recently at the BCD Tofu House in LA's Koreatown and was very pleased with my food. This is a Korean restaurant which is open 24 hours a day. It was quite busy at about 10.30am which is a good sign. The service is quick and efficient if not overly friendly. If you've never eaten at a Korean restaurant be aware that you are served a number (5 or 6) of small dishes of appetizer plates (including a small whole fried fish at this place) that come free with the main course. I should have known this; but foolishly ordered an appetizer in addition to my entree. The menu has about 50 entrees/combos as well as 4 choices of appetizers. I ordered the Hot-Stone Bibimbap and the Tofu Jabchae - both vegetarian. There are 5 vegetarian entrees and 3 vegetarian appetizers on the menu and plenty of meat and seafood selections as well. My Tofu Jabchae was very tasty with plenty of glass noodles and could have been a meal on it's own. The Bibimbap was basically a selection of small bits of tofu and vegetables on a bed of steamed rice. There is not much taste to the dish which is why it comes with a small dish of hot sauce and of course the accompanying side dishes which were mostly spicy. The food was of high quality and like I mentioned earlier seems to be a popular spot. If you do go - as with most Korean places - beware of the extra complimentary side dishes so you don't end up with too much food at your table.

My photos may look good (lol), but their food is complete garbage. As someone from Hong Kong who has eaten Korean food since a very young age, I’ve never tasted anything as bad as this. The service was terrible too- thanks one of the male staff for a terrible evening. And he still had the guts to ask for more tips.

Tasty, inexpensive and lot's of food. We came here for lunch and there were a lot tasty appetizers and fried fish came with our tofu soup order. Much more food than we expected. Good service and food.

Even before your meal arrives, you lol get a variety of small Korean snacks to munch on. The fish, Kim chi, and tasty cucumbers are a welcome addition. I usually always get the Kal-bi, seafood Tofu combo and am well satisfied when I'm done. I do recommend some breath mints after your done here though. Especially if you plan to go out after.

Huge rice bowl, fish, four to five side dishes, rice tea, huge boiling tofu soup with any type of meat or options, and galbi made my day. What a feast for only $25. BCD is authentic Korean food that is worth every penny. I actually went for three consecutive nights, since I knew I won't be able to see this again in my hometown. When you are in LA, make sure that you visit several of its locations. It will not disappoint!

Get a ticket and wait in line for around 30 minutes, you won't be disappointed. Preferably choose the "combos" and get the foaming soup were you crack a fresh egg, you'll get plenty of side dishes and a main course with rice. Tip: the staff will fill your almost empty rice serving bowl with water to make a soothing soup to round of your meal. Have some Korean sparkling wine with your dinner, refreshing!

I know this place may be a mediocre for LA's but to me this place is great. They open 24 hours and what can you ask if you can get your tofu soup anytime you want? and stone bowl rice is always nice touch. Food is always fresh comes with many side dishes. This is my usual place when I stay in LA and walking distance from the Line hotel!

A Korean chain known for its top quality silky soft-tofu. Bubbling hot tofu is served with fresh cooked rice in an individual stone pot along with traditional Korean side dishes. A favorite spot to detox after a night out clubbing. Favorites include the Beef Bulgogi and the Seafood Premium Tofu. $$

If you’re looking for Korean comfort food, this is the place to go. The menu has all the Korean classics, and they make so many meals for so many people, you know exactly what you’re going to get every time you go. New to Korean food? Get the bulgogi and you’ll understand why so many people believe (correctly) that Korean BBQ is the best Asian BBQ of them all. Want a vegetable rice bowl? Get the hot stone bibimbop (includes bolgogi or tofu). You’ll find out how tasty Korean vegetables can be. And be sure to let the rice cook for a while against the hot stone bowl; crunchy rice is delicious. Feeling adventurous? Get the tofu soup. It’s so boiling hot, the raw egg that comes with it cooks within seconds of you cracking it open and plopping it into the spicy stew.

When researching places to go on our LA Vacation, found this place on Pinterest. Delicious food, nice variety on their menu, good size dining area, but just okay service. We ordered a galbi combo (comes with soup), hot stone bulgogi, and spicy pork. All rated a 4. Each dish came with white rice. We were also served the typical Korean side dishes served before the entree. As for the service, it was just "okay". We were greeted by a friendly hostess with no wait (5pm on a Wed night). Our server took the time to answer our questions about the menu with only a slight hint of irritation. :) What I didn't like was that we were never visited again once we had our order. I had to flag the host over to give me take out boxes and flag a different server to refill our drinks. Our bill for three with just water was $68... That did not include tip. So... Final verdict... 4 for the food... 3 for the service... 3 for the value... 3.5 for the ambiance... Average is closer to a 3.

Had enjoyed a couple of visits to a restaurant by the same name but in another location and was so glad to discover there was a branch closer to me. First of all, there was ample parking and it’s free. The place is quite large, too, & although there were a lot of people, we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. I ordered the Galbi/short ribs ; they were pretty good but I only counted 6 - it came on a heap of onions which I don’t eat. This was mentioned on a lot of reviews I had read - that with the price of $20 or so for lunch, you’d expect more galbi. I had ordered the combo, so it came with a choice of tofu soup: I ordered the Kimchi Soon Tofu soup with beef -mild. It tasted real yummy, altho’ the beef was negligible. And the “banchan” that came with it were unimpressive and there were only 5 - & we only liked 3 out of that 5; no refills given nor offered. In comparison, our go-to Korean restaurant serves 9 ban chans & really delicious ones, too, and give quick refills!). If they can improve their banchans, it would be much better! I would still return, though, to try their Hot stone Bibimbap.

My wife and I ate here while visiting family in California. She's Korean by background, and living in St Louis means that good Korean food is hard to come by and/or means we need to make a trip to Chicago. So when we went to SoCal to visit her grandparents and uncles, she jumped at the chance to stock up on Korean food. One of the meals she was craving was soondubu jjigae (i.e. Korean tofu stew). This is a bit less elaborate meal than going to a korean barbeque place for bulgogi or galbi, so it was a nice change of pace for us to eat Korean in a bit more casual atmosphere. I will also surprised to find that this restaurant has actually eveolved into a small chain, with locations around LA, NYC, and even been exported back to Seoul. Anyway, the food was excellent and extremely well priced (by themselves the stews cost $7-8ish, and under $15 in a combo meal with an entree food like pipimbap, galbi, or bulgogi). The restaurant also doesn't skimp on the ponchon (the assortment of appetizers served in small bowls and eaten family style by everyone at the table). There's a pretty wide assortment of menu items, none of which should be overly threatening to a Korean food novice while still giving your Korean friend something they'll appreciate. Plus, if your only experience with Korean food is some bulgogi or such, you owe it to yourself to try something yummily different.

I didn't know what to expect when I was told it was a tofu soup place (usually having the tofu soup as part of a main meal) but on this cold and wet, rainy Dec day ... it seemed a good choice. This restaurant is huge - and busy. Like most Korean restuarants you get a selection of small side dishes when you order the tofu soup and a grilled fish, which was different. I went for the special, which included shrimp, clam and meat - and ordered it spicy. Good stuff. Great portions, excellent taste and good value.

Loved the food. Tried couple of dishes and all of them were served hot and were delicious. Loved their kimchi Was surprised to see so many people on a thursday night

This is an OK place to eat even though I did not get good service. Went here last month and was little disappointed compared to last year. They could do better. Can't complain about parking.

nothing spectacular, both tofu and meat are just adequate ** - Average

Yum. The "hot: soup really is HOT, too.

Came here for lunch with my wife's family. I'm not big on Korean but have to admit the main dishes were flavorful, though found their Spicy BBQ Chicken didn't have much flavor beyond just being spicy. Serve was prompt and food came quickly.

I’ve tried this Korean Soon Tofu soup at many places in Los Angeles and across the country, and this BCD tofu house by far has the best soup.

Really good Korean food. All the classic favorites, great flavors and values. Be very aware of the spiciness levels as they are real!

This place has gone through major renovation not too long ago and has transformed into a modern Korean restaurant. I like the combo menu with BBQ and smaller portion of tofu soup. The best part is the fact that this place offers free parking and is open for 24 hours. You can be here for breakfast, late lunch or late night snack.

I really liked their tofu soup. I got the hot stone bibimbap combo, which comes with an assorted tofu soup. They gave a pretty big portion. I was more than full for the whole meal. I really enjoyed the tofu soup more than anything. Definitely oneof the best tofu soups I've had! This restaurant is located at a plaza so there's a parking lot, so there's not much to worry about in terms of parking. Also, there's a mall across the street with parking!

I was drawn to this place a couple times. The tofu soup is super delicious, soft, smooth and healthy. It is the taste of home. I ordered a combo today but didn't expect the portion was so big, now I have food for my lunch tomorrow. They are very generous. The side dish includes an entire fish. Normally the side dish can be refilled free at Korean restaurants, but I am not sure if the fish can be refilled here.

BCD is what it is, a Tofu house. I would equate this place to the PFChangs of Korean Food and not your typical KTown BBQ, music and chatter filled environment, Soju bombing, AYCE hang out meat paradise. The BonChon was generic and lacked spice, even the kimchee to me was bland. Seating is very tight almost elbow to elbow. The servers moved fast without that relax and take your time approach, just quick to serve and move you out. Probably a better place for lunch or vegan's with patience, but with all the great Korean joints in LA, there's no way I'm going back here, unless I'm invited.

Now I know why my friend loves to come here, opens late hours, and the service is quick and the food is fantastic. This trip to LA to see my friend was an introduction to Korean food, which now I love. When we arrived at about 6:00 p.m. on a Sunday, the parking lot was full. My friend dropped me off to put our names on the waiting list while she waited for a spot. She finally got a spot as we waited about 1/2 till our number was called. The place is packed with the hustle and bustling of people and servers. I ordered the C8 Entree Combo: Spicy Raw Crab and a Dumpling Soon Tofu. My friend ordered just the Dumpling Soon Tofu and a couple of beers. Never having these dishes, they both tasted fantastic to me. Loved the Spicy Raw Crab and the fact my soup was bubbling boiling when served to me was great! All the side dishes were a nice accompaniment. Atmosphere: big loud, bustling with energy. Service: excellent. Food: excellent

Good Korean BBQ, especially if not everyone in your group wants BBQ.

I was craving Korean food and this brought me right back to the delicious mall food courts of Seoul. (If you've been there you know how great their food courts are.) I went their twice, and so convenient they are open 24 hours. Their kimchis and pickles are on point. Loved the BBQ pork and fried mackerel. I didn't see anyone cook bbq at their table - that's what I expected to see, but didn't. That was fine though, because the food was delicious and menu prices sooo affordable. Definitely go for a combo meal.

BCD was a great spot to get late night eats in Koreatown. The portions are good and the food is delicious. I really enjoyed the broth as it had lots of flavor. There are plenty of side dishes available and they'll refill them if you ask! Open 24 hours!

soon tofu is average at best
Authentic Korean Food
Ate at the Irvine, CA location. What a popular place! Line up was out the door but so worth the wait. The food was tasty and plentiful...we were stuffed! A great value and great service.
