BJ's is usually always good, not great, but usually good. This place is very different. I ordered the Tri-Tip and ribs with an appetizer of wings. The potato was good, but the rest went in the trash. Meat was ordered well (that is the lowest cooked option, which is way over done) and the ribs were far from "fall-off-the-bone.', and it all tasted like burnt BBQ sauce. The wings also. I have had better from a box in the grocery store. Skip this franchise. Complain, yea right. It is all take out so you don't know until you get home. Covid scare has become a good excuse for poor food and crappy service.

Our server, Malina, was fantastic! She remembered our allergy details from a previous visit and made sure everything was safe, plus she suggested the perfect wine pairing. Made our anniversary dinner truly special!!!

This Bjs was great and our server Darin was great and very attentive to us. All the food was delicious and the Brussels was one of my favorite. Would definitely recommend!

I visit this location frequently as I live nearby and despite failing to originally offer me the rewards program they went out of their way to help me input the points I had earned in addition to compensating me for any points that may have been unapplied. In addition, the food and beer are great!

We decided to try BJ's for a business lunch on a Friday afternoon. There were 11 people in our party. Of the 11 meals, 1 was missing and 1 was incorrect. When we brought it to our server's attention that one of the dishes was not what we ordered, the server tried and talk us into taking it anyway, saying a new meal would be at least another 15 minutes. When we brought it to our server's attention that another meal was missing, the server actually tried to say they had already brought it out... Which they had. It was given it to the incorrect table. We had multiple servers which added to the confusion. The restaurant was really noisy, which is probably why they couldn't hear what we were ordering. It's a shame because the food is good, but the restaurant needs to be run better.

It's all ok. Nothing to rave about, and nothing really to complain about. The food, the service, the seating, the environment were all just average. If you're looking for pretty decent "bar food," then you won't be disappointed.

Food was typical bjs. Tasted a bit better since I won a bet. Anything free is good. However service was horrible. They forgot to put in my order. Plates were not clean. Had to ask for everything.

Great lunch. Standard menu. Small restaurant with a huge patio - definitely has that San Diego vibe. Menu has everything you can think of - almost too many choices. Had spaghetti and meatballs-a little tomato-y, I actually asked if this came out of a can?? If you doctor it up with some parmesan and salt and it was good to go. Good meal at reasonable prices.

In the end, the pizza is decent. But it's loud, too cold in the restaurant, the service can be slow, and overpriced. OK brews on tap. Maybe fun with a group.

Bjs is well positioned next to the cinema and has a very extensive menu (pages and pages), in addition to great beer. We chose the calamari appetizer (large portion but very dry, as if it had been waiting around a long time (it came out in a flash after we ordered it)). The Jambalaya main course was absolutely excellent. Large portion and quite spicy. The big let down was the temperature inside the restaurant. We were seated near the kitchens and a cold draught blew but I saw folk sitting throughout the restaurant with their coats on! The restaurant itself has been nicely decorated to resemble a warehouse, with bare red brick walls and has large screen TVs with various sports. If we had been warmer, we would certainly have stayed longer.

Jeremy was amazing! Great service and very kind and helpful. Made our experience flawless! Thank you, Jeremy! Amazing

Menu is like TGIF (aka typical, commercial, and not great) but their Pazookie is WONDERFUL. Try it in the white chocolate macadamia nut.

Really amazing family fare. We ordered wings for appetizer (try the Dr. Pepper sauce, very good) and for diner had the full rack of ribs, chx alfredo, parmesan chx, and caesar salad. Everyone loved their meals. Expertly flavored and filling. The menu has about 25 pages to it, so there is plenty to choose from. Desserts looked amazing too, but we simply coulnd't fit it in.Great service and sporty ambiance, televisions, and outdoor dining, fire pits, heating lamps, etc. I give this place ****** 6 stars. Loved it!

I ate here with a couple of Friends, we were very lucky to get a table given that it was Valentines. Just after we arrived there was a line out the door. Despite this the waitress was very attentive and great keeping our drinks refilled. The Food was very good, I really enjoyed the Scampi pasta whist my mates had jalapeno burgers. We liked the beers and I quite enjoyed the Handcraft blond. We were subsequently told we really missed out because we didn't go for Pizza, will have to go back and try it again.

Stopped for dinner and a few beers after work. Surprisingly good selection of beers. Really enjoyed their own IPA. Decent priced and HUGE servings. Went all in for a set menu and had to yield both on the food and the pizooke (never happens).... and not because of taste :-0 Recommended.

BJ's has a menu with a lot of variety with something ford everyone. The atmospheres is very good. The service was spot on. An excellent place to gfet z good meal and catch up with friends and family. This location was better than others I have been to.

Ever A. was an amazing server, he really took care of everyone at our table for our friend's birthday and we had a great time

We have eaten in two other BJ's in other cities in CA. This La Jolla location is a smaller square footage version of the larger ones. The service was great and the food was as good as it was in the bigger brothers. I had the fish tacos and they were succulent and mildly spicy. The white fish was lightly battered, topped with chipotle mayonnaise, Santa Fe dressing, thinly slivered Napa cabbage, carrots, red onions and cilantro. It came with tortilla chips, with dip-sized-bowl sides of an avocado cream sauce and fire-roasted tomato salsa. My wife had the "grilled-to-moist-perfection" turkey burger that was topped with melted Swiss cheese, oven roasted mushrooms, and sliced avocado. One of our guests had the roasted turkey cob sandwich layered with sliced avocado, applewood smoked bacon, bleu cheese dressing, lettuce, tomatoes and Dijon mayonnaise -- on a toasted garlic cheese French roll. Another had the Bjs bacon cheeseburger served on a grilled bun with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickles, and thousand island-like burger sauce. The third guest had the “Knife and Fork” Piranha Pale Ale chili cheeseburger that was smothered with Piranha Pale Ale chili, melted jack and cheddar cheeses, and, the best part, topped with onion strings alongside sliced tomatoes and pickles. It came with crispy-thin seasoned fries. Five of us had great meals and drinks for under $60 (without tip).

Lots of fun. The waitress who seated us forgot to bring us tableware. And three dishes had been served at that time and we had asked twice. She looked overwhelmed. Then I think she was on break or something because another server helped us and he brought us the forks, knives, and spoons. A great time was had by all and the food was delicious.

Visiting family and just off a 6+ hour early flight. they took us to one their favorites for lunch and some cold pops. The beer was great and the sandwiches believe it or noit memorable. I had a chicken sandwich that was moist tender and the toppings made a hit with an east coast boy. others thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Price mid range nice atmosphere, would repeat the experience. Nice start to a trip away.

What a luscious 'mahi-mahi' dish for the palate I had at this good restaurant. Friendly, helpful and polite server who lessened the volume of the loud music upon request. Indeed another place to have a gratifying 'chow time.'

My husband and I go to B.J.'s every week or so. I like their salads and they are close to our house. The wait staff remembers us and is very friendly. I like that in a restaurant!

The only really positive point is that it stays open until late in the evening. For the rest, both the food (wide choice) and the beers didn't excite me: nothing negative, but in terms of quality it doesn't go beyond 3 stars. For a burger or wings and a beer you'll spend less than $30 each, not including tip. Courteous dining room staff. Ample parking immediately outside the venue.

Our first visit to BJ's resulted in the lightest, tasty pizza that anyone could desire. The servers are very attentive and the food is wonderful. Adding a salad made this the perfect dinner.

The in-house deluxe pizza was very good. They ran out of the kids ribs, which was disappointing. The kids grilled cheese was loaded with stretchy cheese. The kale and brussel sprouts salad was refreshing, and big enough to share as a starter or eat as a meal.

DIET TIP: BJ's large pizzas are 50% off on Mondays...YAAAS! BJ's ain't cheap...but its cheap AF on Mondays! BJ's large pizzas are normally quite pricey at $22-30 each, but at $11-15 its fantastic deal, and a very delicious one! I recommend the The Works or BJ's Classic Combo, or a 50/50 split of the two. BJ's crust are very soft and doughy on the inside but have a nice oily crispy outside, with a nice amount of cheese and a generous amount of fresh toppings. Its not NY style, or Chicago style, its BJ's style and that's just fine with me. During this era of Coronavirus, you can also get a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine to go for as little as $10...I highly recommend!

Well, a BJ’s that I liked or a food item that I liked. I had a Santa Fe Salad with blackened Salmon. The dressing was very good and the salmon was just about perfect. Good service and good people. The salad was just a bit pricy at twenty dollars. My friend had the Calamari which I thought was just OK at best, and also pricy at fourteen or fifteen dollars. The beer selection is quite good. Better than average. All in all we had a nice experience. Good if you are in the neighborhood of La Jolla by UCSD.

Had the burger, she had the club sandwich, all in all not bad at all. enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent.

Awesome service by Sophia Great atmosphere Great water Fast service Hot food Loving atmosphere Minimum characters forcing me to type a lo

We were looking for a restaurant close to the Sheraton where we were staying. Found BJs in a shopping center backing onto our hotel. Looked up the menu on their website. Turns out they have a special with 2 soups or salad, a shareable medium pizza and a dessert to share for $20. We went around 5 on a Sunday evening. We were surprised at how small this chain restaurant is (no separate bar area) and how busy it was. We were seated promptly and the order taken very quickly. The special was not featured in the restaurant - not on the menu, not on the table or anywhere in the restaurant. However, our server knew about it and happily took our order for it. Maybe, it was an off day but our soup and salad took 20 minutes to get to the table and the soup was look warm. The pizza arrived even before I finished my salad. The food was very tasty and our server attentive. By now, there were people waiting for tables and our server had delivered our check (hoping we would leave?) but she acknowledged we were still waiting for dessert. It was delivered 15 minutes after our bill was. We would have rated this restaurant higher if it were not for obvious problems in the kitchen. It appeared that people around us were waiting even longer for their meals. Such inconsistency will make people think twice before returning.

The pizza was great for dinner and the flatbread was great for lunch. Just wish we had room to eat the pizzookie for dessert!

When we arrived we noticed it was a smaller Bj's restaurant than normal. When asked to be seated, they asked inside or outside that outside was heated. So we said outside. The heaters weren't on, it was very cold. Bout 20 mins outside they put the heaters on. My son had a chocolate milk and said it tasted funny so I tried it and it had no favor. I asked a waitress if we can change it out for orange juice and she said fine and took his cup. 5 mins later she comes back with regular milk and said she tried the chocolate milk and it was just fine. I don't know why she didn't bring the orange juice? She then proceed to stand at the door right near us, so the whole time we ate our meal we had her looking at us and constantly having the feeling of someone staring at our every move and conversation.

Menu items leave a little to the imagination, but the beer is awesome. Try the Nutty Brunette

When you walk in, there is a small section on the left-hand side. It's a lot quieter than the rest of the store. The parking lot is right. There are a lot of businesses that are open in the early evenings. The server was nice but not very effective. The wine glass was filthy. Then my water glass had something other than water and ice floating in it. We had to continually ask for refills.

BJ's Brewhouse & Restaurant is in a great location - near shopping and the AMC Movies (closer to the UCSD Campus and Gilman/Noble roads). It offers a dining area and Bar area - and a great outdoor are with fire pots. The atmosphere is cool, a bit loud - but very fun. We arrived near the end of Happy Hour.. Great food and drinks at awesome prices (Happy Hour is until 7 pm). Many of their best dishes are on the Happy Hour Menu: Root Bear Glazed Shot Ribs, 4 Quality Beef Sliders for instance. We also enjoyed the grilled brussels spouts and soup. The regular menu is as complete as you would want - with so many choices. It was more extensive than a CheeseCake Factory or TGIF Fridays. Good bar and drinks as well. This was a perfect stop before heading to catch a movie at the AMC theaters. We will be back! Enjoy!

Ate at BJ's twice while visiting La Jolla. First night we had the Chicago style deep dish pizza which was wonderful! Like it should be made.... Food was so good we went back the next night and had soup and salad. The broccoli cheese soup was excellent, as was the salad. Seems to be popular with the local college students, but they were never loud or rowdy - we just felt old since we were the oldest people in the restaurant. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a casual, not too expensive meal without dealing with downtown La Jolla traffic!

Service was really bad. Food was below average. Stay away from this restaurant.

The to-go server was great and although quite busy managed to not let me wait too long to order. However the management (2 )people were extremely disorganized and seemed to create stress. The Strawberry Fields Salad had old lettuce that was really gross. Staff should be checking this without needing to being told!

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant on a whim on a business trip to La Jolla. The deep dish pizza and chicken pot stickers were amazing. The service was attentive and our glasses were never empty. I highly recommend a visit.

The food is OK and service is fine. But the place desperately needs a makeover! The freestanding BJs are so awesome. This restaurant is kept in business by the pre- and post-movie goers. Check out Oggi's for some really yummy pizza, great craft beers & excellent service.

I've been a BJ's customer for 20+ years at this point and they have certainly changed with the times for the better. Like any chain, however, certain menu items are prepared better than others. Without fail, here the following things I love about the restaurant: - Free corkage - this is not advertised as expected - Slow roasted menu is fantastic for the price. Add a third side and you can split the meal for two - Happy Hour is a tremendous value and BJ's is one of few restaurants left, period, that offers truly low-priced but high value items ($3 items) - Consistency

Went here with our gluten free grandson. I know that it was a hassle but they really worked with us to make sure that his needs were met. Had to have waitress go back many times to make sure that food was safe for him. They are really good at this place.

We ordered 2 pizzas for carry out. Sausage and onion, and a pepperoni.Thick crust, dry and didn't seem like there was much cheese if any..even my son who Loves all pizza said it was bad..would never order there again..

My wife and I just finished an early supper at this BJs in La Jolla. We both had the wonderful Tuscan tomato basil soup. I had an entree of roasted salmon, asparagus, spinach, and pearl couscous with some chipotle sauce. My asparagus were so tough that I could not cut through even the tender ends. The waitress immediately took my dish back to the kitchen and in a few minutes came back with the corrected version with the asparagus cooked appropriately. In the new version this was one of the best dishes I have had in a restaurant and I suggest it for any and all. When I received the check, I had not been charged for the dish in question. The deduction of $15.50 was noted as guest recognition, which was an appropriate comment. This was a gracious gesture by the management which I will not forget! The food and the kitchen behavior warrant 5 stars!

I had lunch and dinner several times during my 2 week stay nearby. I love the atmosphere, the huge patio with outside bar. Great staff... food took sometimes a little long to get out.

Our party of four dined in at about noon on a Saturday. We were surprised that the restaurant was not at all busy, as prior visits it was crowded. We easily got a booth, which is much better than the tables which can be quite cramped. We had a variety of lunch entrees' and shared the calamari appetizer. The menu is extensive. One order was incorrect and had to be re-done, but the situation was quickly resolved. Service was generally good, although more timely drink refills and getting things right the first time would have been better. An important takeaway point for me will be to review the sodium content before placing an order here; the food was very salty which does not suit me well. In the future, I will request no added salt and see how it goes. Pricing was appropriate given portion size. We will return.

The food was pretty good here and we received some great service from a waitress but can't quite recall her name. Food is kinda pricy but worth the specific taste!

Host greeted us right away and sat us. Noticed a table across from us speaking to the manager and complaining about lack or service and they were moved out of our servers section. Took him forever to come to us, took drink order and delivered our 2 sodas and 1 straw for some reason. Pot stickers came out, they were only luke warm, he never came to check on us. Pizzas were delivered by someone else, again he never came to check on us or offer refills. We only ate half of the 2 tavern pizzas saving room for dessert. He came by with the check without even asking about dessert, but we ordered one, he asked about boxes and we said yes, he returned with 2 of the smallest boxes ever, totally inappropriate for the size of the pizzas. He placed wrong orders at 3 of the tables by us, forgot drinks on another, kept saying my bad all the time.

This is the smallest BJ's I've ever seen. The drawback to that is that it's crowded and if you're there at a prime time, there will be a wait. But the food is yummy. The staff is super-friendly (if a little rehearsed). And it's good value for the money.

This establishment has late dining hours for those of us who attend plays, concerts, etc.... At 10:30 PM we had a nice meal with courteous staff. The Peruvian quinoa dish was delicious!

The service was amazing! I enjoyed the food so much would definitely go back for more! I had the Alfredo and I definitely recommend it.

We used some BJ's reward dollars without a problem and received excellent service and food. The pork chop was large and tasty and the salmon was also a good choice. The menu is huge and I always enjoy their root beer.

Nice place, staff friendly , the food is really good, they have pasta, hamburguers, salads and pizza. We ordered a nice ceaser salad and a scampi pasta (shrimp with angel hair pasta). Bith were really good. The atmosphere is nice too, a lot young people. With sodas, we spent less than 30 us$.

It's okay, but not the type of meal where you're like WOW after the meal =) just satisfying..

We went on a Saturday evening at 7pm and we hadn't know it was a chain. It was crowded with a girls soccer team and there was a 45 minute wait. It is small-ish and can easily get a waiting line. The menu was similar to a TGIF or California Pizza Kitchen, both which are nearby. They have a local selection of beers and it would seem that there should be something for everyone. The atmosphere was loud and boisterous rather than quiet or romantic. The acoustics made it somewhat hard to hear people at the end of the table. The wait staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. All of us thought it was fine, none thought it was extraordinary.

We were visiting southern California for a couple of weeks and had a good experience at another location and thought we would go to BJs again. Well this location was just such a disappointment the food was not good and the service almost worse.

A shout out to Colton S at the La Jolla location for noticing that we had been sitting with menus ready to order without a server. He came from his peripheral assigned area to take our order and take care of our needs. My husband's Ceasar salad with salmon added was terrific, as well as the root beer. My barbeque chicken chopped salad was meh, as though it had been sitting out (chicken neither cold or hot, vegetables not fresh). I won't order that again. We were there on a weekday for lunch, after the rush.

This was our first restaurant during our recent vacation. Burgers were about $14-15, plain medium cheese pie also $15. Friendly and efficient service. A bit pricey for the quality but soon learned that is common in this area. Lunch for four with one drink and appetizer was $90 including tax and tip.

We decided to hit BJ’s with some friends for a later evening nosh. Wanted to sit outside but pretty noisy, so we went inside for a big table. We were so very fortunate to get Kai as our most excellent server. This guy’s organizational skills are top notch, and he was able to keep multiple difficult orders straight (and perfect) while making it look effortless and hospitable. Kai should be involved in training delivery, for sure. As usual, the food’s great and plentiful, the drinks cold and the vibe’s always fun. Come often, plenty of parking. Ask for Kai!!

Been here a few times last year and once this year and every time it satisfies us, this time I got a double deluxe burger, which was so big I barely could fit my mouth over it(should of cut it in half first) my wife got the flatbread pizza and she thought it was very tasty. Overall its not something outta this world, but is very good.

Great little find 5 min drive from the Hyatt regency. Our waitress was superb. When I told her I was a Celiac she was very helpful making sure I ate safely.

The menu here is way too big but the Prime Rib was what caught my eye! Cooked perfect and huge!! The mashed potatoes were not that great as they were pasty and dry but I didn't come for the potatoes!! The asparagus was over cooked and one was all I wanted!! This 27$ meal came with enough prime rib for two people and....I was served an amazing desert that came with the meal! Monkey bread baked and topped w homemade ice cream! We all shared that treat! I wasn't looking forward to a chain restaurant but was surprised with my good meal!!

I pass by the restaurant regularly when shopping at nearby Whole Foods. Usually see a line outside on the weekends and place seems popular. I read where as a salute to veterans on Veteran's Day they offered a free lunch entree or an individual pizza. I decided to give it a try. It was the first time I have ever gone to a restaurant that offered something special for veterans. I was very pleasantly surprised and was treated quite well and even thanked for my service. Could order off the regular lunch menu. Had a number of good options. I went with their grilled Mahi-Mahi fish tacos which were quite tasty. Also had their house light beer which was good for a light beer. Plan to go back to try other items on the menu.

Took my daughter here for lunch. It was a business crowd mostly. Everyone there was fantastic in terms of their customer service. We got seated immediately and got drinks very quickly. We ordered appetizers and got them fast as well. My daughter had the chicken sandwich entree and I had the Zucchini Noodle Blackened Chicken. Both were delicious and the server ensured that the meal met all of my dietary needs (it can be hard to find gluten free and dairy free food). No complaints about the food nor the service. Great decor - nice that there were TVs broadcasting live sports games all around. Only reason it did not get 5 stars is because we ended up paying over $60 before tip for lunch. YES - we got appetizers, but generally wings and chips & salsa will run a total of $15. Here it was closer to $20. My entree (which was DELICIOUS) was not any more than the entree salads (which I considered) and ran near to $20 as well. They do have a lunch special section, but there are no entree sized salads or as many healthy options (they have an awesome “enlightened entrees” section in their menu. I hope they make more healthy lunch choices in the future. Other than that, we will likely stop by there for dinner another time.

Went there on pizza night for half off pizza. (We didn't know it was half off night, so it worked out well!) Had soup, salad and pizza and a couple Margaritas......everything was awesome! Our server Alexandra was so sweet and helpful!!!!! She made the experience of going to a new place, (new, for us), very memorable!

1st visit to BJs in CA. Just like OH and FL, the menu never disappoints. The menu has something for everyone. The Sunday happy hour at the bar is fantastic. Fast, friendly, great service.

Compared to all the other BJs, this one is really pathetic. There's no cool bar vibe. More church basement than pizza parlor or beer joint. But, maybe they don't want to compete with Friday's which is actually a cool environment compared to this.

This location is pretty small. It's called BJ's Pizza & Grill, no brewery, but they still have the same fantastic beer at all other BJ's. This place does not have a bar, just tables. Service was pretty slow though. I had wings and 7 of the 8 sticks of celery were the kind had the knots where the leaves were attached. Kind of odd and a no no in Chef Ramses world. :) They fixed it though. I would come back for the beer and for some pizza next time.

Food barely warm. Didn't compare to the B.J.'s in Addison, TX.

The pizza at this brewery is phenomenal. There are so many great flavors. We usually don't get out of there with less than 4 pizza types because we can't decide. The Great White is among our favorites. Artichoke, feta, portabello mushrooms, BBQ chicken, they have great toppings. What wonderful deep dish pizza!

Was extremely surprised that the food was as fresh as if I was dining in. Great quality and great price! Highly recommend

reliable, easy going atmosphere, good staff, and decent food, alot of choices. good place to take young kids too.

Just arrived from NJ and chose BJs as it was close to the hotel. Very pleasantly surprised - standard American bar but good in every aspect. Staff friendly and attentive, burger was very good and their own Hop Storm IPA was excellent.

I had the Salmon miso. What a great dish. Just perfect. i also had their self brewed Nutty Brew-nette. The service was friendly also. the only down side is that they do not have a bar.

Surprised this place isn't ranked higher and surprised it's never really busy when I'm there (multiple locations). The pizza is superb. Deep dish and flavorful but not greasy at all. Highly recommend!

Good Pizza and appetizer to get along with your favorite BJs beer... they have around 8 kind of beers on tap... from pilsen to porter.

We don't usually go to chain restaurants but I am glad we went to this one. We wanted something simple to eat in a place that was not pretentious and this hit the spot. We had a superior server and, after going over the huge menu, with a a wide variety of choices, we settled on the shrimp tacos that were served with pita bread rather than tortillas. These were excellent. There were sports-directed TVs, which I could do without, but these had the volume turned off so they could be ignored. Since this is a chain, I would place it high on my list of places to eat when on the road.

Let’s start with the service. Top drawer. Could not have been more efficient or more genuinely friendly. None of that smarmy “how is your food tasting” nonsense, just honest attention to getting the order right to suit, and checking back on drinks, napkins, water, additions. I went in thinking of a slice and a beer but ended up sharing my husband’s bar bites of salad and Brussels sprouts while he shared my cheese curd bites. I had a flight of beers. He tried something new and amber. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will try the pizza. The food got the same attention in the kitchen as we got at the table. Very well prepared, thoughtful, and tasty. To top it off, you can throw a benefit for your favorite cause there and coordinate it across their hundreds of restaurants across the US. I have been wanting to make a difference with the rhinoceroses and elephants so they do not become the unicorns. You know what I mean. Hope I can pull this off and that you join me on that day to contribute to the well being of all.

The staff made this place stand out. Really was interested in what varieties of beer I enjoyed and offered free small samples to narrow down the choices. The food was great and overall a nice visit. The open layout can get loud if you are trying to talk across the table to someone. I will go back next time I am in the area.

Stopped here for a late dinner. As far as such places go, it was good enough. The pizza is good, but average - nothing special. I had my heart set on a cocktail, only to find out they have no bar - only wine and beer. I ordered a sampler of four of their craft beers, which were OK, but nothing special. Service was prompt and friendly. All in all, a pleasant but average experience.

Read good things on-line about the place, thought it was worth a shot. We were not disappointed. We got there early for lunch. Just as well as by 12:30pm the place was full. Service was quick and friendly, nice choices of food, especially for my picky son. Portions were bigger than we expected. Only drag was it was a little hard to find. The address is a bit ambiguous seeing as the place is in a shopping center.

Most pleasant experience. BJ's Brewery/Restaurant large, very clean and a great staff. The service is excellent and the menu quite large and varied. I had the craving for spaghetti and meatballs, glad I did. My plate was huge had five meatballs, the taste was out of this world. The beer list is large. Went there around 2PM, no waiting. We visited the restaurant at La Jolla Village Drive and I-5 North, on the North side of the shopping center. Recommended, very highly.

It's hard to find a place to eat for a family when one of your family members has celiac and needs a GF menu. BJ's is great for everyone, and even has a GF Pazooki desert!!!

Actually all BJ's have the same high quality food. Haven't had a bad meal yet! Of course the beer is exceptional as well

Food was fantastic. Dela was an awesome server and helped me on what to order. The food was made perfectly to my specification. The vibe of the restaurant is very relaxed mid afternoon/ early evening. The managers are great too.

We really enjoyed our meal at BJ's. It was so good. The kids loved the pasta creation and mac and cheese on the kids' menu. I had the chicken parmesan and it was delicious. The deep dish pizza was really good. My husband had the prime rib, which he enjoyed.

BJ's is a large chain restaurant and we chose going here from having been to others. We were not disappointed. The staff was friendly and well-trained; the service was very good and the menu is extensive (reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory).

Great appetizers as usual. Been to this new location a couple of times and its almost always busy with a few mins wait.

My family really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant, especially eating outside under the heaters on a cool evening. Food was good enough. The pizzookies were great.

Enjoyed a great lunch with a tasty margarita while out shopping! Salmon was the perfect choice. Indoor/outdoor dining with fast friendly service

We visited BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse in La Jolla, a popular spot for casual dining and craft beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is lively and family-friendly, making it a great place for gatherings. The menu offers a variety of American favorites, including their famous deep-dish pizzas and Pizookies. While we were disappointed to miss the prime rib special over the weekend, we decided to make the best of it and ordered from their regular menu. The starters, like the Chicken Wings, were delicious. We also enjoyed the Ahi Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. And, of course, we always finish our meal with their delightful Pizookies for dessert. The service was attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Overall, BJ's is a great place to enjoy a meal with friends and family.

The bar is full, the beer options a mile long. I had a buffalo burger. It was tasty, but taking a healthy burger and slathering it in sweet sticky bourbon sauce is a waste. So much for healthy. The beer list is extensive, and you can find anything you like. I had a the house porter and it was good. A little too much chocolate, and not enough of the beer. I should have stuck with Guinness. This is not a fine dining establishment. It is a bar. If you want a bar with bar food its 4.5 stars. If you want a casual restaurant it seemed a notch down. But for watching the game, head here. They will take care of you.

Our first time at this location. Good food, good service and good value. Can't go wrong with these guys.

We were introduced to BJ’s by some friends who are weekend regulars. They enjoy the prime rib, which my wife and I regrettably did not order. Next time. Our impressions were formed by what I attribute to poor ordering on our part, despite a large and varied menu. I had a wedge salad, that was quite good, but the sriracha Brussels Sprouts were very average. My wife shared a wrap, which she did not care for, and her sliders were just average. We will return, but better prepared to order items which I think we will enjoy.

This La Jolla restaurant features a menu friendly to the varied tastes of our ethnic diverse population. The attendants are attentive and menu knowledgeable. Take your time and mix and match is allowable. The large and open seating arrangement makes it a little load, but the food and prices make for repeat visits.

This is a nice location for a BJ's. They did a good job with this location. Clean, convenient and good service

Small location, but never can pass up the wonderful Pizookie dessert!!

Great food. We had a salad and pizza. Portions are great for sharing. Excellent menu with a variety of choices. Great for families or adults. Restaurant is pretty small.

We tried ordering a large takeout order online and had some trouble paying with a foreign credit card so resorted to a phone call. That made things much easier. We were promised a 20 minute delivery and that was very accurate. The meals were excellent.

We were on vacation in San Diego. We just got off the road and we were hungry and was kind of late. We found Bjs in La Jolla. The staff was nice and the pizza was so good and fluffy. The bread was so good on the pizza and soft. We took left overs and had it the next day and the pizza was still soft and fluffy. I recommend anyone going to La Jolla. Stop by Bjs you can dine in or outside. Nice place and shopping in the same parking lot and also across the street Marshalls, Ross, etc... Enjoy a nice pizza with wine and do a little shopping after

Between the 4 of us, we shared 2 pitchers of "blonde" lager, 2 small salads, a mushroom appetizer, & 1-8 piece deep dish 1/2 BJ's favorite (The Works) and 1/2 spinach and artichoke flavored pizza. The portions were just right. Not only just right but the taste, quality and ambience of this restaurant will keep us coming back for more. I expected a bigger restaurant, comparable to the others we have visited (Maui-specifically), but it seemed like one big café hall (positive connotation). Brian, our waiter came at the appropriate serving times. It's nice to get good service like that, especially during the busy times. He even suggested that there was a deal with our deep-dish pizza that included the pizookie dessert for free, literally. How's that for great customer service. Thanks Brian, for making this a pleasurable experience.

I've been here twice, and after looked at their menu, I want to go back and try everything! The food is great, service is great, and the atmosphere is fun. First time we got the deep-dish pizza and it was really good. $20, and though the pizza isn't huge, it's really thick! Second time i got an amazing cobb salad. They put their own dressing on it, which turned out to be really nice. My friend got the fish n chips which he said were great, and they looked it too. Appetizer we got the mozz sticks and spinach dip. The mozz sticks were good, but nothing too special, but the dip was great, definitely getting that next time. For dessert we got the Pizzuci thing, which was just a big plate of goodness! For three people, two app's, two beers, three entrees, and a dessert, the bill came to $70

Order a double burger with fries, quantity was good and very tasty. The order arrived in a reasonable time (around 7 min) while I was having a beer. However it came cold!!!

We are making a point of visiting as many BJ's restaurants as we can. Why? We have never been disappointed by the food, the service, the ambience. Today was no different. From the extra special Jeremiah Red to the endless soup and salad, we had an amazing lunch. You can even switch up the soups and the salads to try different ones. I'm from Seattle and appreciate a good clam chowder. BJ's is one of the best. My favorite salad is the mozzarella and tomato salad with basil and balsamic vinegar glaze. Wow! Their newest entree of tri-tip steak is sooooo good. Getting the ribs and tri-tip would be a delightful combination. This BJ's even has a cooler in front where you can purchase six-packs of BJ's brew. Not all of the BJ's have that, but they should. Hands down this is our favorite restaurant in SoCal.

Stopped at BJ's for lunch on Friday. Had the Calamari appetizer and the Avocado spring rolls... Very tasty and just the right porportions.

What to order? I love the baby back ribs, quinoa, and many of the plates. I decided to try the quinoa with shrimp, a new dish...very tasty. My husband had a large salad which he enjoyed. Since it was Happy Hour, we asked if we could get our drinks at Happy Hour prices at a near-by table, since the bar was overflowing with very happy people and I was handicapped.I was so grateful they said I could. The service was very prompt, courteous, and accurate! The bar was noisy, probably because of the Sports TVs near us.

Food and decor typical of BJ's chain. It can get busy here sometimes, but I like that it has a patio and outside bar. Food is good and so are the drinks. Ryan the bartender rocks!

If you want a steak for dinner, do NOT go to the BJ's in La Jolla. There are NO steaks on the menu, none, nada. If you want to try the new brews that are on the BJ website, do NOT go to the BJ's in La Jolla, this location picks and choses which ones it has on tap. Now while I was really disappointed that I could not have a steak, which one of the reasons that we decided to go to this BJ's, the other was to try their Big Fish IPA, I will say that the Ahi Salad that I has was excellent. They need to put up a big sign we do not serve steaks, burgers yes, but NO steaks. Would I return, yes, but only for lunch so that I can have that salad again. And the poor rating was to get your attention to read my comments.

Huge portions and delicious food! Always a long wait because it is do popular.

Jeremy was so nice and fun! We loved our pizookies and watched the padres game on the patio. Great ambience and waiter!!!!

We don't have a BJ's near us so it's been awhile. I didn't remember them having such a deverse menu! I chose the Honeycrisp chicken salad, excellent. It's a chopped salad with yummy fresh veggies cut up tiny. My waiter Sean suggested the peach fusion, very nice and caffeine free. I definitely will back to a BJ's sooner.

I've been to BJ's for lunch about a dozen times over the last three years, and just took a group of 12 there today. The menu features informal dishes but the quality is a big step above typical "bar food". Favorite items: fish tacos, Southwestern chicken salad, soups. Their baked potatoes are huge... the half potato that they offer with soup or salad at lunch is about the size of most restaurants' whole potato! They have a variety of quality homebrewed beers and offer a beer sampler. Service has always been friendly and efficient.

Sophia was an amazing server. Very helpful and knowledgeable about alcohol and helped us pick a pizza! Definitely will be back for her and for the cookies and cream Pazooki!

Moderately priced but a surprisingly eclectic menu ranging from pizza to pulled pork, incorporating alot of tatses. I especially liked the craft beer made by BJ's (although the microbreweries are at other locations). I had the white wheat beer and found it complatible with some of the best I've tasted in Germany. There's no substitue for locally brewed beer. I'll be back. P.S. although a little noisy, a crowd is a sure sign that the food and drink are more than ok!

Had the grilled pork chops tonight with green beans, apples and white cheddar mashed potatoes. Also had the chicken tortilla soup. Soup was excellent with a great flavor. Chops were also very but could have been a touch more tender...still, I would have them again. Also had the baked beignet for dessert. Very good. I never had a bad meal at BJ's either in California or Nevada.

Great food and Darin was a great server!! Was very attentive, friendly, and inviting. Excited to come back in the future.

I normally give restaurants like BJs and Yardhouse a 4 star but I can honestly say the service by our waiter was top notch. I ordered the Peanut Chicken Soba which was okay and my friend ordered a salmon quinoa. Both were decent and the price was good too. Drinks, food, and dessert came out to 50 + tip. Server spent time and gave great honest recommendations for the alcohol. Went above and beyond which I'm sure he does for everyone.

One of my very favourite places to have a real Chicago style deep-dish pizza! I have been coming here since my college days in the early 80s and no other pizza restaurant has come close to this one! I highly recommend BJs NOT only for their pizza, but for their great menu choices! My husband also ADORES BJs pizza, too! Great ambiance and nice decor! Come here and you will NOT be sorry!

My son and husband loved the desert pizza. :) The rest of the food was average, a good place to take kids as it is a relaxed place.

Staff were great, food ok but nothing special. Everything on my plate is beige and kind of bland. All the meals have calories listed on the menu, be careful some of the desserts have 2000 calories.
A Breath of Fresh Air
My husband and I had occasion to visit The Shops at La Jolla and what to our surprise did we find --- a renovated and updated B J Brewery. The new facility is great --- private booths that are both private and open; tv's pleasantly placed (not overwhelming); large menu with calorie count and most of alll GOOD FOOD and terrific, friendly staff. We'll be back.
