Friendly bartender great beer

By Brian W |

Stopped by for a beer and burger when I got to San Diego. Sarah was very friendly and let me sample a beer I had not tried before. The red was perfect and nice and cold. The burger done a little more than I asked for but quite good. I'll go again

BJ's Fantastic!!

By Deborah F |

This was our first time at BJ's!! Loved the atmosphere and the food is great!! Sports setting and they were still open after 10:00 p.m.during the weekday!!

Awesome Food & Service

By Hylianknight |

We spent our 15th wedding anniversary dinner at BJs. Awesome food and service. The waiter worked his tail off and gave great service. Busy traffic but it was worth it

What a disappointment!

By maringfro |

I'm familiar with smaller BJ's restaurants and I like them. The food is good. This new restaurant in the Mission Valley area of San Diego area however is over the top and that is not good in my opinion. Before I go any farther, I have to say that I am not 20 or 30 years old anymore. The noise level in the restaurant is unbearable. Thank goodness there is an outside patio where my friend and I could sit to have dinner which was quieter although I told the waitress to turn down the music. It was blaring. After she turned it down, it actually became background music and not music competing with my conversation with my friend. I ordered the chicken wraps as an appetizer and was very disappointed. They put four large lettuce leaves on a plate with a small bowl of chopped chicken and a little bit of sauce. (I guess I was expecting chicken wraps more like those served at P.F. Chang which are delicious!) I also ordered one of the turkey burgers and I was actually happy with that. Turkey burgers can be dry but this burger was not dry. It was the turkey burger with cranberries in it. The service was slow although everyone was very nice. I will not return to this BJ's but would go back to the smaller ones.

Wonderful and extensive menu

By artandroxanne |

What a great place this is. The building is attractive and the service is prompt and friendly. There’s also lots of easy parking. We especially liked the menu because it lists the calories of each dish which is great for those of us on calorie restriction. We can plan eating out without going over our limit. The extensive menu is a book. We recommend going over the menu on-line before you visit, so you have an idea what you want. That way you can spend more time catching up and less time pouring over page after page of temping eats. We ordered the spicy pig pizza, had them replace the jalapenos with extra pineapple and took half of it home for tomorrow. Then we had calories left over for their chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream. It was all very good. This is a great place to eat!

Ask for Nieve!

By Drew Q |

My girlfriend and I were served by Nieve. We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait (not bad for a Thursday night), but Nieve said she would seat us immediately. She had a great sense of humor, I always appreciate that in a server. Also, the chips/guacamole/salsa were very good. As was the pazookie. Thanks!

2-inch thick menu

By OLEG V |

Best food selection of almost everything you may think of, all with signature touch. Deserts are must have. Overwhelming selection of beer + brewery onsite.

Dinner

By wandamo |

Service a bit spotty in spite of a huge wait staff. The restaurant has only been open less than a month, so hopefully things will improve. Food pretty good

Some if the best service we get around here.

By Jeffrey H |

We’re here a lot because we like the place a lot mostly because of the service. Emily was our server tonight and she was stellar.

Another BJs. Rarely disappoints.

By dexter619 |

First time at this location in Hazard Center in SD. Centrally located and near all the best shipping. Went here with the family and friends with kids, plenty of room for everyone in our large booth. Our waiter was really great also, great service. The margaritas were kinda weak so I didn't waste money on a 2nd one.

Awesome experience

By vegetarianskill |

Had an amazing experience! Bartenders Marty and Jared were very courteous, and both checked on me multiple times. The manager Visonia also stopped by the bar and checked in with guests which made my time here more personable. I highly recommend this BJ’s location!

Good beers, good food

By Kevin |

This was our first time here and we had a good time. The service was very good, the beer selection excellent and the food was very good.

Good service Great experience with Alan our waitress

By Manuel A |

Great service… Alan was outstanding very polite Alan took his time we were a big party of 22 people in out group and he was really good with us .. we are coming back

Not too shabby for a sports bar

By Rachel35394 |

Good food. Nice selection of beers on tap. Great service from bartender, who recommended an excellent beer.

High hopes, big disappointment

By Gerronimo |

We have passed this place dozens of times and finally decided to give it a shot. Bad idea. Interior ambiance and service are great no complaints……the food was terrible. I tried their “signature” wings and most likely the worst wings I’ve had in my long life. Dry, dry, dry….and they are the smallest wings ever…they reminded me of those air-fryer wings you get as Costco…..just not as good. My wife salad was wet and wilty, like it sat in the fridge waiting to be served. The chicken cutlet on it was actually pretty good. We won’t be back.

Poor service.

By GEMINI_DRAGON |

While visiting San Diego, we decided to go to this restaurant one night. Let me just say it was the worst service we've ever experienced. It's an open seating place so we chose to sit in the outside patio. I wished we never sat in the section which was attended by Michael. First off our table did not have any silverware. Michael did not bring coasters for drinks as other waiters did for their clients. He never told us about any specials of the day. His whole demeanor showed us that he was not even remotely trying to be an attentive waiter. I should have complained to manager right there and then but we simply were too disappointed and just left that place. So try to avoid seating in Michael's section if you ever go to that place.

Good food, quick service

By Chris101264 |

We went here on a rainy July night with family and they were packed. BUT, the accommodate our needs, got us seated quickly and met our needs, including a gluten free member of our party. The food was good and filling. The service was efficient and friendly and even took a picture for us. Parking was kind of far.....it is a very busy shopping center. All in all, a good good dining experience. Good prices. Big portions. Family friendly. A little noisy, because of the sports bar feel....but that was OK. I would go back.

Good stop for dinner.

By Nichole T |

We stopped here for dinner and enjoyed everything we ordered. My husband and I both tried a flight of their craft beers, which was very well priced. I ordered the light flight and my husband built his own. We also enjoyed the food we tried (pita tacos, deep dish pizza, and kids spaghetti). A good choice for dinner.

Crowded, slow but overall nice!

By simho |

It was Saturday night, so very busy and a long wait. Service was slow but overall we enjoyed our time. The kale salad was very good!

Nice Atmosphere and great Food and Beer

By sol653 |

Great food and excellent flat bread. The beer sampler was great and the service very efficient and friendly.

Why is service always awful at BJs?

By bananasinSD |

Seriously though. The servers could care less if your drink is empty or your food came out correctly or if you even like your dish. Our waitress rushed us to order, told us that the beer my boyfriend ordered needed the keg to be changed so could he "just order another kind of beer?", he declined and said he'd wait for the keg to be changed so the beer of course took 15 minutes. (Our bad) There was also a lot of dirty tables around us. Tables that needed to be bussed that noooooobody touched the entire time we were there. So weird.

Great Place for Dinner

By michaelg999969 |

Our family loves to eat at BJ's, and this location was no exception. Our waitress was very pleasant and even accommodated my "picky" 3 year old daughter's wish for just 2 kid's side dishes. I highly recommend!

It's a sports bar. Do not order food.

By SDwalkerSOCAL |

I was ill two days after eating here. Terrible reduced quality since my last visit. Very bad experience being sick, especially after spending $40. It started with me sending back the iced tea and asking for water. Never happened before, anywhere. Then the tomato bisque soup arrived with a sheen of oil. I tried it and asked my wife to try it. Did not have the heart to send it back; I just pushed it aside. Finally my entry, "crispy, hand-breaded, buttermilk fried chicken breast, pepper cream gravy and white cheddar mashed potatoes with a corn and fire-roasted red pepper succotash." I ate it. Big mistake. 48 hours of sick. But two starts for BJ's being a sports bar, TV's everywhere, sports not CNN or FOX. Loud conversations with the room designed to amplify the noise. Folks at the next booth over had to shout to be heard. Two stars if you want to sample several kinds of beer. But trust me --- do not order off the menu. If you are hungry go somewhere else.

You know what you get!

By Hans K |

Went there with colleagues for dinner after a long day of traveling. We had different meat dishes and some beer. My baby ribs was ok but had to ask for more bbq sauce to get my opinion of coverage over the ribs. Restaurant had many tables and it was roomy but a bit impersonally. If you put expectations aside for something unique this is a good place.

Great food

By sherri g |

Our service was awesome. The manager himself served us and took care of every detail to make our dinner special. I would definitely love to go back.

Great find

By Dawn V |

Saw this place on line and decided to give it a try. Turned out to be a very good choice. There's a large menu, so it was hard to choose. I ended up with potstickers and a mini deep dish pizza. My husband had the scampi and tri tip. We were both very satisfied with our choices. We were there on a Friday night and didn't have to wait for a table - probably because we were there before 6. This is definitely a sports bar atmosphere with lots of tv's showing different events. I would absolutely go again when in San Diego.

New location, excellent seating, great food

By SDwalkerSOCAL |

This is a good to place when we have guest from out of town. It have comfortable seating and a great menu. BJ's also have a large selection of beer with samplers. You can share just the appetizers with drinks or order from a large selection of entries. Highly recommended.

BJ's is dirty, don't brother

By rbasia |

They don't wash their plates and linen napkins. Their customer service is bad from the front desk to the kitchen.

Food was great

By Alwayshavefun85 |

My husband and I ate here, the staff was great. We had the appetizers, since we didn't want to have a heavy dinner. Appetizers came out very quickly.

Somewhat mediocre food but pricey.

By Dick P |

The food was ok but not great. The service was very good. The prices were a bit high for mediocre food. I ordered chicken breasts and they were processed patties.

Brittany is the best!!

By Derek A |

Brittany was fabulous for our afternoon lunch!! Super friendly and attentive and fun to laugh and joke with! Definitely will be back to see her! Cheers!

Great Food, Atmosphere, and Customer Service

By Arlene S |

Server Samantha did an awesome job - excellent customer service!!! There were 8 of us celebrating a family birthday. Food was great! Atmosphere too! Samantha made us feel welcome. She is friendly and professional. Thanks Samantha for making our dinner/birthday celebration a positive experience.

Great waitress and food!

By jennifer c |

Denise is the best waitress! Very friendly and explained the menu specials to us. Great food and service!! We will be back for sure and recommend.

Awesome brew

By hpanchamia |

Fantastic home brewed beer Had something called as the 'nitwit' which was amazing Perfect place to hang out with your gang Never experienced it but game nights are supposed to be fun there

As restaurants go, this one I found to be excellent.

By RAM1017 |

First impressions are lasting. Just coming into Bj's from the street was a treat. Our waiter was attentive though busy. The presentation of our meals was classy. My coffee was fresh tasting and even the men's room was well kept. I look forward to a return trip next time I'm in San Diego. Our meals were great, as great as the overall atmosphere.

Went for a beer and a salad

By Joel B |

Waitress was friendly but had too many tables to cover to be effective. Cobb salad was surprisingly good. I've had so-so food in the past so maybe I was lucky this time? I'd give them another chance.

Average food-nice atmosphere

By Xd S |

This was my first time at a BJ's Brewhouse. The decor is better than an average sports bar with a nice outdoor patio setting. I was disappointed in the "Chicago style" pizza. It had little to no sauce so I had to get some on the side to dip my pizza in. Boyfriend was also disappointed in the food. We did enjoy our drinks & our waitress was helpful. I do not recommend this place if you're looking for a good dinner. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to watch a game or enjoy friends/family. They have a huge variety of food options for everyone. But of course that also means the quality of food is average with no niche.

Great food/Great service/Excellent signature, seasonal and local beers

By L G |

Every time I travel to San Diego I have to go and grab a bite at BJ'S, They have the best pizzas and their selection of signature, seasonal and local beers are great, you can not go wrong when eating there, they have something for everyone and the portions are really generous. The atmosphere is relaxed, very California vibe, also good for watching sports at the bar.I've been there for breakfast and lunch and both are good.

BJ's Mission Valley Location - Service Trending Downward -

By Greg S |

Since moving to the college area a year ago (from Escondido), we’ve visited the Mission Valley location several times. When we first went to this location, the service was great, fast – a much needed breath of fresh air in comparison to the location in Escondido. But recently, we’ve noticed that Mission Valley has become progressively slower in service and has become what the Escondido location was the last time we went there. Today (6/12/15), which will probably be our last visit, we waited about 15 minutes before a waiter even came to our table. When we did and took our order, it was another 20 to 30 minutes before we got food. At the same time, two adjacent tables, where people arrived AFTER we did, got their food before us and were finishing up while we still waited for our food. I spoke to the manager about the decline in service. She explained that the service issue (on this day) stemmed from a “transition” and under estimating the number of people coming to see the women’s soccer match. Not sure I buy that because this has been a trend observed during our last 3 to 4 visits when there was no special event. To the manager’s credit, she “comped” our food order. Hope they get it together – we won’t be back.

Variety of Beer

By Susie1028 |

They offer a lot of beers. During happy hour, they do have good deals on their pizzas, which is reason enough to come. I also enjoy the pizookie and the avocado egg rolls. As with most chain restaurants, there is a lot of variety, and average food.

Watching the Chargers!

By CurlyJus |

Brits abroad - looking for somewhere to watch the game! BJ's covered it - great standard American food - with light options and for those Brits who are overwhelmed by huge portions - the menu details cals ! Great range of beers - enjoyed by all. Service as u expect in the USA is excellent and the atmosphere was friendly. If you want to watch the games and have members if the group not too interested this is a good venue! Outside area as well with a fire pit and TV's outside.

Great Cheddar and Broccoli Soup

By linwoods96 |

I had a very pleasant experience for late lunch at BJ's Brewhouse with business associates. We ordered the soup and unlimited salad. We had the tortilla soup and the cheddar and broccoli soup with our caesar and garden salads. Everything was good. The cheddar broccoli soup was superb. The atmosphere was casual, yet sophisticated and was perfect for our lunch meeting. Service was good as well. I would definitely go there again.

Good pizza and beer

By diinslc |

I really like that the menu included calorie counts for everything. I chose a reasonable personal pizza and enjoyed it with a nice local beer. It wasn't super exciting, but it was perfect for dinner.

Great burgers

By Ray B |

A very open-space feeling with a high ceiling. The noise level was therefore low. We were greeted quickly and escorted to a booth and given menus. The server was soon there to inquire about drinks. By the time he was back, we had chosen our meals and he got our orders displaying a good knowledge of each in order to get the correct accompanying dishes ordered as well. The food was given approval by all four in the party on three different items. Two of us had the same burger although asking for different garnishes. They arrived exactly as requested. It is located near the Doubletree where we always stay so we will return.

Love This Place!!

By mdsarch |

It has been a while since we have been to a BJ's. I love their pizza and beer - how could you go wrong.

Dinner/course meeting place

By Wendy G |

2nd time here in two weeks...food Fantastic, Service Fantastic ☆ We will definitely be back for more☆ Outside patio with large fire pit...awesome. ...indoor...long table easy to visit each other♡

Good food and service

By Edioh2 |

We had dinner here on two different nights and were not disappointed. Food was prompt and delicious and the staff were lovely.

Lots of choice, reasonable

By OakvilleGal |

Ate here twice with family last week. Extensive menu. I enjoyed the Peruvian quinoa bowl with shrimp both times. Second time, I requested no salt on the grilled shrimp and they accommodated, which was perfect. My husband and daughter ordered shrimp with pasta and chicken parmigiana. Pasta was good but drowning in butter (would ask for less next time). Parmigiana was dry and salty, wouldn’t order again. However hubbie really enjoyed the jumbalaya here the previous time. We’ll be back, but asking for our dishes to come with less butter, oil and salt. Glad they seem friendly and accommodating.

Everything is everything

By mizzrhoades |

My family and friends frequented this establishment to celebrate my son’s graduation from drill instructor school. There was a small wait time since we needed a low top table because my daughter in law is pregnant. The server was patient and kind. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. I was really excited about the mixed drink I tried because it came in a small bathtub. 😂😂 I definitely enjoyed everything about this establishment.

Terrible slow waitress service, drinks, bad day, but repairable

By LovingLife4us |

Ok we were seated promptly which was a good start but after that it all went down hill. We ordered their specific beers which they were out of one nitro one. It took a while to get our drinks and 2 flights. Lesson to learn- if two separate people order each their own flight then keep them separated and not like what you did to us. You put them all together and then leaving it to us to try remember what we 2-couples ordered? That's definitely not good! Ok we waited well over 45-60min after placing our order so since our waitress stopped by over 15 min past, I went to a lady believed to be the manager on shift, which it was. She went to loo into it and she did apologize and admit (as we 4 expected) that the waitress never promptly turned our order in. We all 4 discussed this and thought that but for the waitress to "rudely" come up to me and state "so your the one who talked to my manager" about our food being late was totally out of line for paying customer that was trying to patiently wait for their food. After the manager truly getting to the bottom of all this she did a very genuinely act of compensating us for all our food only (which we told her she positively didn't have to) BU to fix this issue of no refill on our beers and the terribly slow food delivery service. In My Opinion (IMO) the place is exceptionally huge and it was a holiday weekend (Labor Day) and it definitely was under staffed with waiters and waitresses if paying customers have to wait that long for even drinks as we did. Ok bottom line, I definitely would try this place again and hope that things get fixed to prevent a repeat of poor service. Thank you for the unexpected kind gesture of paying for the dinner food. We felt we did still leave a generous tip for your staff since they looked very busy.

BJ’s Mission Valley

By Shannon F |

We had an excellent salad, Mediterranean Chicken Bowl, at BJ’s. The service by Denise was the best we’ve ever had. Thank you!

Great Menu

By 4myvinny |

It's loud in there.. but that was fine. Loved the surrounding TV screens - not just at the bar, like most places. The food was great. We received service with a smile.

Very small portions, and a little on the pricey side

By Kara C |

I ate there with 2 friends, and one got the flatbread pizza, while the other got an iceberg wedge and calamari. I had a side of fries, and they served the fries on what looked like a teacup saucer! The dinner portions would serve as appetizers where I'm from (Pittsburgh, PA)!

Excellent service by Denise

By Culture48157702495 |

I was greeted & served by Denise. I asked her about the trip & she recommended making it a combo & I paired it with the 1/2 tack of baby back ribs. I also purchased two of the Lunch For Tomorrow meals that she also recommended. Denise’s knowledge of the menu & her demeanor is very pleasant & I would recommend anyone who comes to BJ’s to ask for Denise, for her service, I know I will!

Great service! Nieve is awesome

By Tina K |

Amazing server!!! Loved Nieve. Gave us the full run down and was very attentive!!! It was busy but took her time and treated us well. She’s a keeper.

Wonderful dinner.

By Linda M |

Everything was terrific, especially the service...which was provided by Halle. She was attentive, listened to my requests, and brought me my drinks and food promptly.

Simply Okay

By Monica C |

We placed a large take away group order well in advance, double confirmed the order/time wanted. The order wasn't ready upon arrival. We waited 25 minutes for the order to be brought out. We wanted to double check the order as we had 32 in our group. We were missing 6 meals and 3 were incorrect. While we were not demanding, but simply asked to have the 9 meals prepared as we had ordered, the reaction of the staff was as we were an inconvenience and it was our fault. Once we received the replacements and left, our entire group had great reviews for the taste and quality of the food. But it was disappointing that we were treated as if it was our fault.

Skip this...

By Danielle C |

The waitress was very nice, however, the service was VERY slow. I'm pretty sure the kitchen was backed up. We were at this restaurant for 2 hours. It was ridiculous. For mediocre food, not worth it.

Good food, slow service

By Blanca J |

Waitress took forever to bring utensils, water, etc to our party of five. We informed them we haf limited lunch time, yet we did not get our food til 50 minutes later. Other people who got there after us got their food first. Food was good, but service was very slow.

Great food, great service!

By vannesagP8631YX |

My son and I went there for a dinner and I did have some cocktails too. It was my first time there and the food was great. Deserts are must have. They are delicious. We had a great fast service, it was our first time and I hope we continue having great customer service. I would definitely recommend it.

Great private party

By paulboh |

I won't go much higher than a 3 on these type of national chains. This one hosted a late night event for us. The service was A+, the food kept rolling out. And they were very fair with the price. We had a private outdoor area. Highly recommend.

Excellent Fun Atmosphere

By Rebecca R |

I enjoyed the outdoor dining!! My brothers and sister met here while we were in town. Everyone enjoyed their food! I had a steak that was a little over cooked, but the cheddar mashed potatoes and the wedge salad were phenomenal!! Wish we had one of these in my town! The only improvement I could recommend is keep the bathrooms clean!! They need some attention!!

Family

By Susie K |

I have taken my family to BJ's many times and they love it! My dad had their fish and chips and said that it was the best he has ever had. My mom had the clam chowder and loved it! Their hamburgers are outstanding!

Huge Selection of Many Types of Food

By Roy A |

After perusing the menu for a while we placed our order. The food was very good and our waitperson told us to leave room for their Pizookies, for dessert. She was right, it was very good. Service was okay for a busy night due to Boston vs Chargers game later that day. The atmosphere was nice but the craft beer crowd were very noisy. Due to their enthusiasm there were many times we could not hear the waitperson or each other. It is a sports bar !! Overall it would be a place I would recommend.

Vacation

By Victoria G |

Beer was awesome as usual, the food was delicious. We were not in a hurry so I didn't care about slow service.

Excellent Restaurant

By guptaashok_0511 |

This is an excellent restaurant. We are vegeterian but found the items to read. It has bar also. Variety of food is available.

Ryenne was a great waitress

By Carlos H |

Ryenne was our waitress and she was awesome at her job. She had a great personality and we had a great experience with her. I would definitely visit again.

Good meal, nothing special

By Walt S |

This place provided a typical BJ's meal. Decent food for the price, nothing fancy. The service was also average. All in all, it met expectations, and is close to the hotel we we're at.

Happy hour

By Art H |

Nice decor but loud music in the background. The food offerings were good and the House wine was ok but we were put off when our gift card was refused. The credit card machine was not working and we were only informed when we tried to pay ( and not in a nice way). The general manager made a lame excuse as well.

Great food and craft beer, horrible service

By wkrupa |

I love this place for it's great food and really good craft beer selection but the service at this one was horrible. How nice the world can you allow a pint glass to sit empty meaning the business is losing money. I had the Brussels sprouts to,start with which were spot on perfect. Next was a pizza loaded with ham and other goodies, again perfectly done. Clean up the poor service and this place is great.

Great outdoor bar with firepit

By avidtraveller15 |

Such a fun place to dine. Sit indoors or outside. Lots of people, and a fun and busy vibe. Super craft beers, great food at decent prices. Have dined at other BJ locations but this one is our fave.

This is the place to go

By Jacob D |

Service from Denise was amazing! Service was fast and food was brought out very quickly . First time in this location and I loved it

Christmas pan pizza

By P R |

Great service by Denise. Friendly and outgoing. Our pizza was made exactly to order. No complaints!!

Tacos!

By 927francesd |

The restaurant had atmosphere. It felt comforatable to sit, eat and relax. The tacos with cheese and sour cream were filling and delicious. It felt intimate, despite having many customers.

Delicious pizza! Lots of beer!

By Michelle B |

We ordered a pepperoni pizza that had 3 types of pepperoni on it. It was delicious! I didn't think we would even come close to eating all of it but we did! Our wait staff was friendly and attentive, even on a busy Friday night. We had no wait to get in and were seated promptly. Our waitress chatted with us amicably and offered us dessert, refills and served our order with cheer. It was a great experience.

Good food, good atmosphere, great beer

By EmmaSeattle |

I stopped in with friends for an early dinner after a flight and enjoyed this place. It was before 4pm so not busy but the staff still treated us well and were friendly and efficient. The food was great and we ate a little too much (the pazookie cookie dessert was more than we needed but we couldn't resist splitting one three ways and it was worth it. It was a cookie covered in salted caramel with ice cream on top and drizzled with chocolate). They have a good beer selection too, which is something I often have a problem with as I don't care for bitter beers or IPAs. I usually have trouble finding something I want to drink. They also have ciders and wine and a full bar so there are plenty of options. Since it wasn't late, it was not very noisy and the place was clean, and inviting.

Great service and best food

By 941ellym |

No wait to get in and no masks required. Amazing wait staff, excellent meal. Could not ask for better

Business Dinner Here

By CsC |

Our team went here for dinner where we had a good meal for a good price. Staff was very friendly...lots of TV's with sports on too.

Great Selection of Beers, Upscale Pub Grub

By Hiistory-Buff |

I ate dinner at the BJ's in Mission Valley with 10 business associates on a recent trip to San Diego. It's located in a shopping center right across from my company's office. I guess this restaurant and brewhouse is part of a chain. I found it to be very good -- beers, food, service. BJ's accepted our reservation, seated us on the main floor, and provided excellent service. I ordered the rib-eye steak, with mashed potatoes and asparagus. It was excellent. Other members of our party enjoyed the ribs, the burgers, and the chicken wings -- all good. I really, really liked the BJ's Hopstorm IPA, too. Great place for a business dinner!

Amazing food!

By Elizabeth W |

The menu offered options for everyone even for the pickiest taste buds. The food was delicious! Burgers were juicy, generous portions and dessert was tasty! We tried the pizacookie which is a cookie cooked in a pizza oven topped with ice cream! what more could you want! Our server was friendly and very helpful!

Love it!

By @ Thailandtraveler64 |

My friends took me here for dinner the other night, while on a trip to San Diego. For some reason, we had never tried a BJ's. We loved it! Very spacious, nice decor...like an upscale and much larger Chili's. The menu is huge and super creative/diverse. We had the avocado egg roles with tamarind dipping sauce and they were one of the tastiest apps I've ever had. I could've had an entire meal of those. We had ribs for the main entree, and they were superb as well. We will be going back!

Sports bar atmosphere

By emmaretto |

Came with family for a birthday celebration. We had a large group and the waitress did a good job keeping up with the food and drinks. Atmosphere was sports bar type so it was loud and hard to talk. The food was okay. I had breaded chicken breasts that just needed a little more flavor. It was just nice to be all together. Definitely need a reservation if going on a weekend.

Great job on the customer service, Denise!

By Claudia M |

This was the perfect spot for lunch for a work anniversary celebration! Denise provided our table with outstanding customer service!!

Wide Selection of Beers, Tasty Bar Food, and Good Service

By pontevecchio56 |

Our professional organization held its year-end social event at BJ's, and a good time was had by all. The staff and waiters were very flexible and helpful. The happy hour cost for their in-house brews of $4.00 was a good deal, and the selection was impressive. The pub food was up-scale and tasty. The Mission Valley location is fairly intense due to the high density of shopping and residential areas. Traffic and parking can be an issue at times.

Good!

By Nelly Z |

Great service! Super fast friendly service! 4 grownups and one baby had a great time! The food was good!

Everything you're looking for in a brewhouse

By Audra S |

Great burgers the staff is very friendly and helpful great appetizers and a decent kids meal. We've been to many of their locations, and always know what to eat there.

One of the WORST experiances of eating out!

Totally clueless server that needed to be told what to do. She had ZERO anticipatory sense of what goes with what food wise. As for the food quality, you are MUCH better off eating cross the street at Denney's. The stake came burned vs. well done. The Nachos had no salsa or sour cream...It was a disaster of a dinner.

Hotel Circle's best. Pizza, veggies, outside patio for meetings, and wonderful fire pit

By FayeCooke |

I've had several meals, several parties, several business meetings over the past 11 months. The prices are fair, the service is excellent, the location is near it all... Mission Valley, Hotel Circle, and of course the malls. The quality and the large portions equals a bang for your buck. Easy to find in Hazard Center (a shopping plaza) with many parking space directly in front of BJ's. Take a walk to a bookstore after your meal or sit outside beside the fire pit for a cool breeze and nice sunset.

Best Burguers period!

By Antonio G |

This place is perfect, it has a great atmosphere and very friendly service, family, friends or even for a date! It has one of the best burgers I have ever tried in my life! They also have really good beer!

Great food

By Jahmai |

My wife and I stopped in after visiting the zoo for a bite to eat . It was our first time there and the food was great . I would definitely go back .

Small portions.. Don't sit inside near the sliding glass wall if you tend to get cold easily!

By Lydia M |

We dined at this restaurant on Monday, June 23rd. We were a large group of 10, mix of adult & children. We were seated quickly, but unfortunately the waitress was a bit slow in getting our orders, even forgot to ask a couple of people for their drink order. When we finally placed our order for dinner, my husband went with the salmon that they had a picture of on their menu. Looked like a good portion, what a disappointment when it finally arrived! There was no way that the picture was the same as what my husband had received! If you arrive hungry, buyer beware! The picture is deceiving! I regret not taking pictures of the menu & the plate my husband received! The food was ok, drinks were fine. We started to get chilly & asked the waitress if she could close a small section, that would not be affecting any guests because we were in a corner. She said she'd have to ask the manager. She quickly came back & said that the manager said no! No explanation, just No! What horrible lack of service! You would think that since we spent so much money, the manager would have at least come to our table apologize & at least give us an explanation of why he could close the door! We will not be returning to this restaurant again! What a disappointment !

Good variety of food and beers

By sdcyclist |

The pizza here is delicious. And there are different styles of beer that they brew that goes along with the good food. They have different types of food in case you are not in the mood for pizza. The food here is a bit more on the salty side. They are known for their pizooki dessert, so if you saved room make sure to order one.

Great For Kids You cant go wrong

By ALAN B |

Last minutes change during a soccer match. Called ahead of time about 45 minutes before walked in with 12 girls and 8 parents. Great selection on the menu and they had staff helping with that big of a party. The kids loved it and we did as well. Nice size portions.....

Average

By Josh H |

Food was alright, my burger had a very small patty. The waitress was hard to find. She took our order (appetizer & meals), brought us a refil on drinks, and didn't see her again until we were ready to order desert. Food runners brought all of the food out, and weren't asked if everything came out right/well after that.

Great service!

By Angelica F |

Great service from the moment we walked in. The facility was clean, and the waitress, Denise, had a kind personality, fun yet professional. She impressed us with her good memory while taking our order, and she made us feel welcomed as we came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Highly recommend this location.

Alan V

By Karina S |

Came for a late night dinner. There was no wait time and our server Alan V was great! Super kind and good customer service. All the food was yummy as well.

Busy, well-run sports bar

By ald233 |

We were shopping for Christmas in the nearby mall and wanted a drink and dinner. BJ’s turned out to be the perfect solution. This is a busy large restaurant. We were lucky to get a table fairly rapidly. Watching the many TV’s helps the time go by quickly. The menu is large and we were all very satisfied. Happy hour has liberal hours. The service was excellent and friendly. The only difficulty with this place is awkward entrance and parking.

Good food

By ricardofogel |

BJ's atmosphere and was excellent. However, it took the waitress far too long to help us with drinks and placing our order. Everyone in my party which was 6 drink their entire beverages and had to ask for a refill before any food was delivered to the table. Needless to say I gave it an average rating because of the below average service.

Decent food, ok experience

By cstruyk |

Nothing special here, my girlfriend thinks their "Bazookie" desert is to die for, but I've made better at home.. Overall it was decent, can't complain when I didn't have to pay!

GREAT FOOD

By Bertram C |

I was here for dinner and let me tell you i was very happy with the food. I had the green beans and mashed potatoes which wherever good.My server'Raymond' was very good. The flat bread pizza great, The wings great. I will always go back.

The waiter was very attentive to my friend's food allergies.

By Migknits |

The waiter went to the cook to be sure cayenne pepper was not an ingredient in the entree she desired. The food was very good. I wanted the chocolate brownie/ ice cream sundae for desert and the waiter asked if I would like the smaller salad...WISE man.

Fun Place

By jer b |

BJ's is a fun place to eat: very laid back and great for families. They are known for their great selection of beers (truly) and a large variety of pub-like food. There is an amazing number of possibilities from: wings, poke, soups, salads, pizza (deep dish, thin, gluten free), steaks, fish, chicken, flatbreads, burgers and sliders. Very extensive menu. We selected things to share family style: a pizza, a seared ahi salad, and their chicken - parmesan crusted. Everything was very good. For us, this is the kind of restaurant to have lunch at, not dinner. The waitstaff were very attentive and friendly and the time was pleasantly spent.

Great service and lunch pazookie deal had many options.

By Candy L |

Our server, Haley at the Mission Valley location was awesome. She was very attentive and so friendly. She stopped by our table numerous times to check on us and make sure we had everything we needed.

Great Atmosphere, Good Food, and Good Service !

By David Miller |

My wife and I met our Daughter and her Husband to celebrate a birthday a BJ's Brew house in Mission Valley last week. The restaurant is very beautiful inside and outside, with an Awesome Bar area, and plenty of TV's to watch your favorite event. Our server Katelynn was so nice and pleasant as she did everything to make us happy. The food was very good. I had a Gluten Free thin crust Pepperoni Pizza and my wife had the delicious Asian Salad. They have a Huge variety of craft beers you can enjoy also. Fun place to for any occasion Check it out !

Birthday Dinner for Three !!

By DannyWasserman |

Great Birthday dinner for three as we had drinks, appetizers, and entrees and enjoyed our meal. The prices were fair and our server was over the top friendly. We would go back again.

A Real Love Hate Relationship Due to Inconsistency

By Richard Z |

This is the email I sent to (i) the restaurant manager (2) corporate customer relations and (3) the CEO of BJ's. All of them bounced back as undeliverable, including the email printed on the managers business card displayed at the front reception desk. Here is what I wrote: "I am a frequent writer on TripAdvisor, a local resident of downtown San Diego, and frequent visitor to BJ’s throughout Southern California. I am to the point that I find your Mission Valley service so inconsistent that I actually find myself getting angry when I visit. Here is why. Perhaps you should share this with your entire staff. I frequently respond to BJ surveys and I am very honest about what I say. I say what I like and love and I say what I dislike when it comes to your food and service. 1. I get upset with your hostess when I walk in. I know it is their job to ask if I am a member and ask for my phone number. 99% of the time they fail to ask. If I am a member I expect to be recognized before I am being seated. 2. 90% of the time I order the Baked Potato with Chicken and Broccoli with the wedge salad (my favorite dish) a. The way it is severed is 90% inconsistent. I even spoke with the manager who told me the ounces of chicken and ounces of Broccoli the receipt calls for according to BJ standards. b. I have even received a second serving for free. THAT IS NOT WHAT I WANT. I get so disturbed from the first one being wrong and having to call the manager that I do not enjoy either of them. c. 90% of the time it never remotely achieves that quantity and I complain and they bring more chicken. I HATE HAVING TO COMPLAIN. I AM ABSOLUTELY THRILLED THE 10% OF THE TIME WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GET IT RIGHT. d. The wedge salad is getting smaller and smaller. And, we are noticing. 3. My most recent visit COMPLETELY SUCKED. a. Saturday July 6th 2019 b. Waiter: James (you can verify by my membership for that visit) c. The hostess never asked if we were a member d. When James approached the table I started the conversation by giving him my phone number e. Half way through giving him my number, he turned away and walked away because something must have been more important than us. (he gave no explanation for leaving the table) f. When the meal was served, (by someone else) I waited for James to return. g. I told him this dish was not made to BJ corporate specifications (so little chicken you had to dig to find it.) I have actually had to tell the server how many ounces of chicken and broccoli are called for in your corporate menu. h. He returned about 10 minutes later with more chicken. By then I had eaten most of my baked potato because my food was getting cold. I HATE COMPLAINING ABOUT LACK OF CHICKEN AND I DISLIKE GETTING MORE BROUGHT LATER. GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST ME BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY LOST MY APPETITE. i. SEE THE PICTURE BELOW. THIS WAS TAKEN WHEN I FELT COMPELLED TO TAKE IT BECAUSE i. James left the menus on the table for our entire meal ii. James dropped off our bill at the table and made no effort to clear the table iii. So we waited what seem like 10 minutes for our credit card to come back looking at dirty dishes and menus on the table. IT BOTHERED ME ENOUGH TO OBVIOUSLY TAKE A PICTURE OF IT. 4. As a professional travel and restaurant critic writer I have some constructive advice. a. If you can’t make the same menu item the same way twice not only in your location, but all BJ locations, take it off the menu. Those of us that frequent BJ’s in many locations who order the same thing can see that none of the locations get it right very often. b. If you are going to have a membership program, make your member feel like it is something worthwhile. Not asking me at the reception or at the table what my membership number is, completely devalues your program and makes us members feel like if its not important to BJ’s its not important to us. c. Have your servers pay more attention to the condition of the tables. PS it has now been 6 days and no one from the restaurant or the corporate office seem to care

True to brand

By 48Buddy |

This is a newer BJ'S. They have a good selection of craft beers and specialty cocktails. It's always busy but you can call ahead to get your name on the waiting list. Parking is a challenge. It's pretty loud so not recommended for business, but good for friends and family. They have lots of outdoor patio seating and fire pits.

McCandless PA location - Good but not a wow- slow service

By marsco27 |

The salads were superb, the pizza and flatbread were very good. Disappointed on the drink offerings. While extensive everything was sweet. We had to leave before our desserts came - we had waited 20 minutes from ordering them and they still had not arrived. We had to leave for a movie. Surprising as they had plenty of wait staff so I assume it was the kitchen.

See Denise

By Pioneer42911045841 |

Denise was awesome as usual. I've been having business lunches here for the past few weeks and she has been exceptional. Great atmosphere and food too.

1st time to try BJ’s

By Hobbs2015 |

The location, food, service, atmosphere and beer was fantastic. I tried the Blonde beer as it was recommended by our waiter to be close to what I normally would have. The Blonde was spot on and went well with my dish.

Sunday Family Dinner

By Amber H |

Went in about 6:30 on a Sunday evening. We were seated right away, which is a huge plus with 2 small kids. They have a really good selection on the kids menu with some more "adult" options like a chicken and pasta dish etc. for the kids. Food took a little longer then expected to come out. Otherwise everything was perfect. Nice family dining experience and not too expensive.

Gluten free!

By k7333 |

I ordered the gluten free pizza, it was so good! My family had ate earlier so just ordered appetizers. They loved the chicken potstickers. When it came time for dessert, I was so excited to see a gf version of their famous "pizookie." We each had our own, they were amazing! Great food and atmosphere!

GOOD AND RELAXING LUNCH

By HARRY M |

Had lunch here and it was a good experience. Got seated on the patio, which was very relaxing. Had the Asian chopped salad and the chicken club sandwich, and both came promptly and were very good. Erin, our server, was very personal and checked in on us regularly.. Would definitely return.

Standard BJ's with good service, good beer, good food! Salmon was good!

By JimB_Traveler |

Got the glazed Salmon which was pretty good but the asparagus was a bit lame. Also the Mac and Cheese was bland and tasteless. Mixed drinks not very strong, so go for the beer. Service was friendly and quick and fun to sit in bar area w/ all the TV's.

Very Disappointed

By Wendy F |

Got her early for our reservation went to the Bar to get a drink. The waitress was very rude about us sitting at a table the bartender said we could sit at until our table was ready. We had move with out drinks until our table was ready. We were finally seated. We were served our appetizers the mozzarella sticks cheese wasn't even melted. The artichoke dip was very cold and not creamy. Then when we wanted to place our order we were told they had no fries for the burger's. They served our Caesar salad with no dressing. The kids menus had to crayons for the kids to color. Very disappointed!

Great Dinner

By Mia J |

While visiting San Diego, BJ’s was recommended as a nice affordable place. It has a variety of meal selections from American to Italian. It has vast pasta selection and the Parmesan Chicken was excellent. The atmosphere was kid and family friendly, but also had a nice bar area for the sports lover. So, if you’re looking for a nice place to have a meal for about $20 per person. I would suggest you try this place out.

Great service

By Lesley M |

Great experience. Lunch specials are the perfect price. Service was great. Denise was the best. She took good care of us.

Nice place for lunch

By Dick T |

Stopped in a familiar eatery for lunch, and wasn't disappointed. My wife had the classic baked potato and I had the Barbacoa Chicken, which was delicious. Service was excellent (as expected) and the food excellent. Reminds us of the BJs where we live.

yummy gluten free dinner

By Myrrhia |

We sat at the bar so got seated right away. We were at high tables not a "bar." The waiter was attentive and helped me pick the perfect gluten free dinner. I picked the pizza and it was a great choice. He also kept my glass full, which I truly appreciate.

Good eats

By Jhon |

Just had a really good dinner at this fun restaurant. The food is delicious and the ambiance is wonderful.

Very disappointing for first time experience!

By Coastieswife926 |

It took our waitress over 10 minutes to come to our table and that was after I asked if someone would be seeing us!! She told us, she doesn't know what happened to our waitress so she would be doing it. She seemed aggravated and every time she came to our table, I felt rushed. I understand this was on a Saturday night but still CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE!!! I ordered the full rack of ribs with a baked potato and a side salad with honey mustard dressing. First it was missing the croutons, which I asked about. And Well I'm pregnant and I try to be careful about eating the wrong things, they brought out the wrong dressing which looked just like honey mustard but tasted like wasabi. I took a bite of my salad and my eyes watered, my nose burned and it was horrible. No apology or anything, just would you like another salad. I ordered the Caesar instead. My ribs were pretty good, my husband liked my ribs way better than the $18 shrimp pasta he ordered which had the most noodles and fewest shrimp I ever seen. Our drinks also sat empty many, long times. Overall the experience gets a 0! The food gets a 2! Maybe I should have gave them 1 star instead.

busy but tastey

By Madyson T |

Denise in the bar is the best. So funny. Busy day as well and did good in keeping the mood light. Taking all things football :)

Never a disapointment!!!

By Eric_F |

This BJ’s always does a great job!!! Great food and service at a very reasonable price!!! Parking can be a bit of a walk because of the complex of popular businesses that they are nestled in with, but it’s worth the walk. Shannon did a great job - I’m sure we’ll be back!!!

Sports bar/restaurant

By Betty L |

ordered appetizers and sandwiches that were very good. Good wait staff. In a shopping mall area, so had to walk a distance to park.

Entertainment Group Meeting for dinner

By Emory B |

First time visit to BJ's. Great selection of beers. Enjoyed the Happy Hour drinks and small plate selection at very reasonable prices. The group was provided a private patio location with very good service for a large 25 person group gathering. .

Amazing waiter. JD rocks

By Giovannaz2 |

We came to BJ for a Mother’s Day’s dinner. We sat in the bar area. We were greeted by who turned out to be one of the best waiters we had ever seen. The place was packed, but JD made a point to greet us and let us know that he was on it. We watched him running all evening, serving multiple tables and keeping all the requests in his memory. Even if he could not deliver right away, he stopped by the table to let us know that he remembered our order and that he was going to deliver it as quickly as he could. BJ is a typical American brew house, but has a wide selection of items from flatbreads, to seared ahi salad to hamburgers. The food was good and the dessert divine, but what stood up for us this time was the service. Thank you for making our evening JD!

Great Beer

By DALE S |

We eat here frequently( 100+) because of the outstanding craft beer. I like to try the beers that rotate in and out throughout the year. My favorite is the Nit Wit. The menu changes frequently so you have new options. The BBQ ribs are great as are the salads and burgers. Happy hour prices for drink and food are very good. Service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is causal. No blaring music just a background sound.

Good food, good service and good price

By Nelly Z |

Well, first time in this restaurant- and I just love it! The prices are good, for adults and children, perfect services and fast, the food was, and there is a large variety in the menu- definitely I'll come back again!

nice place!

By GSP_Mom |

Ate here for lunch while in town on business. great lunch menu, great prices, great service! Restaurant is clean with friendly staff. highly recommend for lunch; did not dine for evening meal.

great time on the patio

By CathySanDiego |

we went here for lunch and to our surprise there was a breakfast menu on Sunday. Had the California scramble and it was delicious! Best pancakes I have had in a long time. Outside patio was like being on vacation and our server was awesome. I think we have found a new weekend place to go.

Great service , good food.

By yorkie1552 |

My colleague and I can here for a quick lunch. Extensive collection of beers on tap and bottled/canned. Lunch meal deal was cheap, tasty and filling. Our waiter Ray was pleasant and knowledgeable with beers and other alcoholic beverages.

Great food great ambiance

By Patty S |

Great selection of liquor! Good energy, great seating for big or small groups and menu has a pretty good variety of food.

Love the cookie pizza. Yum!

By Jaime J |

Delicious parmesan-crusted chicken and mashed potatoes. My daughter had the pizza, which she loved. My kids had the pasta from the kid's menu and they loved it.

Lots of variety, friendly staff

By CyrusMoo |

A friend of mine likes to go to restaurants where the menus are so long, you really have to take your time reading the menu. Well, my friend would like BJ's! While I thought the staff were friendly and helpful, it took quite some time to get our food -- and all I got was a bowl of soup. Nevertheless, there is something here for everyone.

Halloween night treat !

By DannyWasserman |

We visited this place for Halloween dinner and were not disappointed. Friendly staff and wide variety of food and beverages to choose from.

Food not bad but service slow

By bill C |

Sat on the heated patio on a rather chiller night in March. The heat lamps worked pretty well but the wind made it chilly for anyone not directly under the lamp. The food was decent. I got the ribs and chicken tortilla soup. Ribs were flavorful and moist. Chicken Tort soup was a bit salty for my taste. Service was very slow and sporadic. Servers calling out dinners to tables as it was apparent they didn't know what food went to what diner let alone what table.

Amazing!

By gabriela m |

I absolutely loved the service here! They were super quick to get our order and our food to us. Our waitress, maddy, was so sweet and she helped us figure out everything we wanted.

Terrible service

By zoom8942 |

We were a group of 6 at dinner time so we'd had to wait to be seated. 14 minutes After ordering we were informed they were out of rib eye steak so my husband changes steaks. He was served an overlooked, burnt on the outside steak and the baked potato had no sour cream, butter, or anything. We waited for several minutes to get condiments and drinks refilled. We complained to management and were compensated with a gift card ( of unknown value) for a future visit. We are not local so our daughter can use it. I personally would not return.

A downtrend?

By Joe L |

I am a frequent BJ's customer and this was my second visit to a BJ's this week. It is my favorite place but my experiences were both average this past week. The service on my second visit was good but the portion size seemed smaller at this store. I had a full Caesar salad with chicken and I swear it was a side salad and now it is $14.99. My wife's chicken dish was good size but the sides that came with it was small.

Sort of average in terms of food and drinks...

By Kartik Sharma |

The server was friendly... He asked for age proofs from us despite the fact that i am 28... the service was ok... the food is average, nothing extraordinary but the drinks were better... i had beers and long island ice tea... the pizza was average, steak was better and burger was normal... i have had better food at this price...

BJ'S is Spot On

By DannyWasserman |

We just purchased a home and we wanted to celebrate with a few drinks and dinner, so we chose this place. We ordered a few margaritas and appetizers, and eventually ordered a few entrees. Smash burgers were amazing. Service was fine and the prices were more than fair.

Delicious food

By Dan P |

I have tried the Southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes at BJs. It was so delicious. The portion was a Little too small though, but price is reasonable 6.50 I Think for the lunch version. They have a special baked desert pie with a name I forget, but it is served with a scoop of icecream on top and this one is as good as deserts come. Second time I visited I had the Southern fried chicken again and I will return for more quite soon. Service has been friendly and good both times.

Good food, handled a large crowd well

By WinnieA |

I was here with friends who were all staying at a nearby hotel for a seminar. There were about 16 of us and they handled the big group well. The food was really good (I had salmon, rice, and vegetables...one friend had gluten free pizza...another had shrimp tacos....one had spaghetti....). The thing that amazed me was they had no problem giving us individual checks. I can tell you that wouldn't have happened where I'm from in Jersey. They just don't do that. We were here sort of late...got to the restaurant at 7:30 and left around 9:30 or 10. The area is pretty well lit but there weren't many people around so I was glad I was walking with several people. I think I would have been nervous being in a strange area. So while it's in a shopping center, it's not someplace that has a lot of traffic late at night. We were there on a Sunday night though so maybe that's not a good benchmark. Just wanted to mention it though. We stayed at the Double Tree so it's got a convenient location. There's also a trolley stop that's not too far away.

Nieve Was GREAT

By Sarah J |

Started with a 15 minute wait (not too bad for a walk in on a busy Thursday night) but Nieve stepped in and told the hostess she could take another table. She was attentive and went along with our slow appetizer and drinks crawl. She was also super friendly and sweet and made our night!!

Sky high prices mediocre food

By gearcher |

I was stunned by the skimpy bowl of soup. The bowl was a quarter in deep. If the glass of beer was a full 12 oz, I’m Tinkerbelle.

A light and delicious lunch !

By Guapo23 |

The friendly welcome started before the appetizers were ordered. The pizza, artichokes, salad and tortilla soup were only rivaled by our waiter Mike. This location near the north county mall in San diego is near interstate 15. Try it you'll like it. Nice cold drinks too to compliment your meal😍

Great Beer, Good Food

By HiIslandsGuy |

We had an excellent salad and a yummy pizza. When I asked our server about some of the differences between their local brews he brought me samples of each so I could decide for myself. Wow! What great service!

Lunch after the Zoo

By Ehad2 |

A large group of 7 adults and 4 kids and 2 infants stopped in for lunch after a morning at the San Diego Zoo. Most places would be intimidated by our group variety, but our hostess quickly accommodated us. The menu is very appealing with a variety of delicious sounding sandwiches, salads and entrees. Their lunch specials are a incredible bargain. I had the BBQ lunch platter of a pulled pork slider with a BBQ chicken breast and fries for $6.25! Great selection of craft beers as well

Great Food and Service!! Ashley Rocks!!!

By kebedy |

Ashley is the best barmaid in Mission Valley!! My choice for all happy hours when visiting. Makes you feel welcome and treats you like a local! Best Happy Hour spot to start your SD night life!

3.5 stars. Decent American Food.

By Italian80 |

I like the outside patio and firepit. We were staying at nearby hotel and came here at least 3 different times. Service was always good. Beer is always good. Food each time we went was good. Place is always busy when we went.

Large menu

By S R |

Really too many choice available which makes it challenging to make a selection in a reasonable time. Food was good and service was friendly though. Just allow yourself plenty of time to look through the entire menu and good luck narrowing down your section to just one item.

Brew and snack

By Russ K |

Wife went for the appetizer and I for the brew. The new limited October brew was great I will be back soon

First visit to a BJ'S in years

By L R S |

Had a deep dish pizza, which I hadn't had in long time. Probably wouldn't do that again, not because it's bad, just a lot of bread/dough. Used the call ahead option so we were seated immediately when we cam in. Excellent staff. Pizza was good, pepperoni on pizza was very mild as was promised and I had no issues with it later in the evening. It was pretty busy for midweek. Lots of restaurants in area so parking could be tight.

Sorry wrong beer......

By Mike G |

Wow what great service.....My Wife made a reservation on-line to be added to the "wait list", and when we went to the counter, they did not have a record of the transaction. The Wife showed her screens shot to the front desk with the confirmation, and she put us at the top of the wait-list, and apologized for the "silly technical foul-up".. We went outside to wait, and within 1 minute were on our way to our table!!! then the Manager cam over and also said sorry (now we were not PO'ed or anything, it was just above and beyond as it applies to the service levels!). Now we have eaten at other BJ's so the menu is sort known to us, and we all ordered. We have some boneless wings to start and they were good. We the order pizza..... The funny part of the dinner was shortly after of drinks hit the table, the waiter from the bar came over and asked how I like my beer.....I of course loved I said....to which he replied, good cause it is the wrong beer. He had my other beer with him, and we had a good laugh at my "so advanced beer pallet"....NOT. Out Waiter came over and poked fun at me the rest of the meal, which with 2 teenagers in tow, was perfect for laughs and fun.....GREAT service!

Cherry Jam on Salmon? (They call it a "glaze.")

By Wayne P |

They were friendly enough but the service felt sort of on the go and pro-forma. Like saying, "hi, how are you?" and the other person is *supposed* to say "fine." I was asked, while the waiter walked by, "Is everything okay?" He didn't really wait for an answer. So I got a variety of food, mostly appetizers. The ahi was good. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were, well... it was a really small ramekin of chopped chicken that was brought out to fill six enormous pieces of iceberg lettuce. I used two... only. The portions on this are just skimpy. The thing that threw me the most was the cherry-glazed salmon. I really, really disliked this dish. Had the waiter actually come by while I was eating it, I would have sent it back. I scraped the cherry jam stuff off as best as I could. That wasn't a glaze - it was a horrible soaking in sickly-sweet jammy sauce. It was a terrible way to treat a nice piece of fish. The options at BJs have improved since I was last there a couple of years ago. The things they do to their food is weird. Service is spotty. It wasn't horrible, so they get a three out of five. But it wasn't stellar, either. So, they get a three out of five.

BJs in Mission Valley

By Handel R |

My boyfriend and I had such a wonderful experience at the BJ’s in Mission Valley, San Diego! From the moment we were seated, the atmosphere was welcoming, but what truly made our visit exceptional was our server, Britney. Britney was absolutely amazing — warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. She checked on us often without ever making us feel rushed, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything we ordered came out perfectly. It’s rare to get service that feels both professional and personal, but Britney nailed it. She really elevated our whole dining experience! The food was delicious, the timing was smooth, and we left feeling happy and well taken care of. We will definitely be coming back — and we’ll be asking for Britney again! Highly recommend this location, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Britney as your server! 💛

Good Brew, Nice Atmosphere

By rleland |

Brew is ice cold and tasty. Jeremiah Red is smooth. Stuffed mushrooms very nice. Food quality is so-so. It's hit or miss at this and other BJ's. Can be really tasty one time and simply average or below the next. Food taste and temperature never the same. Seems to be an overall BJ's inconsistency thing. Service hit and miss too. I'll go back for the Jeremiah Red and mushrooms.

Very Good and Consistent...

By Jeanie J |

When we can't decide what kind of night it is, we start at BJs, because the food is consistently good and the service is friendly. There are lots of TVs and a nice atmosphere.

First visit

By TRAVELBAG40 |

Not eaten at this chain before and went on recommendation of my partner. Very busy when we arrived but only waited 5 mins for a booth. Service was good and friendly. I had salmon and rice with broccoli and partner had the peanut soba chicken. Both were good portions and tasted really good. To me a little on the pricey side however I'd be happy to return to try further items from their extensive menu.

good selection of beer

good selection of both house brewed, and guest beers. they had season long staples and seasonals, and most were well done. our waitress was friendly and let us try some samples, and we watched the NCAA tournament. Appetizers were good, service was good, beers were good. Liked this place.

Amazing food

My food was amazing - like over the top probably one of the best meals I've ever had. I had ordered soup too and didn't receive it - which was fine I ended up being stuffed from my meal. When I told my server and asked him to take it off the bill he reprimanded me that he was too busy to have checked up on me earlier and I should have told him earlier (even though I hadn't seen him until he brought the check out). He never apologized and that was ridiculous. Guess I'd suggest ordering take out!

Good and reasonably priced

Right off San Diego freeways, easy to get to and free parking. Restaurant is very busy has bar area and TVs somewhat loud. We were sat down promptly. We ordered drinks and meals but they forgot to put our table setup and that took a while. Our waiter was very pleasant but quite busy. I ordered the orange glazed pork chops and they were absolutely delightful! I brought half of my meal home it was so big.

Nice find

Was here twice during business trip. Very attentive service and large menu. Tried the California burger first night and it was nicely done with crispy fries. Second trip tried the deep dish pizza and wedge salad....definitely 4 stars!
