Babs Midtown

By Alisa M |

Absolutely amazing from start to finish. The atmosphere and the vibes of this place were absolutely perfect. My food and my drink were great. I told the individual taking orders to just order me their favorite thing and it did not disappoint. Thank you all for a great brunch šŸ™‚ Definitely will be back soon!

Mediocre food and rude service

By rapjkp |

We went for brunch before graduation at Georgia Tech, so it was meant to be a special occasion. We were so disappointed, especially our daughter in law, who has been there before and chose the restaurant. Your order is placed at the counter and then you sit down and your cocktail and food is brought to your table. The cocktails were not handmade but poured from a bottle. They were not good. None of our eggs were cooked properly or as ordered. But honestly it was the brusque and rude gentleman at the front of house that resulted in our indigestion. Everyone can have a bad day but judging by other reviews, this is his go to attitude not the exception. Honestly if the food and cocktails were stellar we would give Babs another chance but there is just nothing to bring us back. .

A must try!

By UserUnknown1987 |

I ate here twice while in Atlanta. Once for breakfast and once for brunch. Both times the food was amazing! My boyfriend had a Moroccan dish at brunch and it was so good! Their omelettes were the best I have ever had! Be sure to ask about their specials! The place is neat as well! It is small and cute! The food is reasonably priced as well. It's a must try while in Atlanta!

Nice little brunch spot

By Kacey75 |

This little eatery is founded in honor of a drag queen, evident from the eclectic mix of art you'll find inside. You don't have to have a reservation but it helps due to the size, but there's a little area to have coffee while you wait. The brunch menu is short but there are so many specials it was hard to chose. After being stuck between the Israeli omelet and butternut squash lasagna I opted for the former and wasn't disappointed. Service is fast and friendly. I would definitely go back.

Extraordinary breakfast!

By Maria G |

Babs is truly extraordinary! The service is very very friendly! The food is fantastic. Do not let the menu deceive you. The majority of the menu is in the server's head. I had a Cuban sandwich bread loaf with eggs, a wonderful side of potatoes and a salad. My children both had the red beans and risotto with eggs.

The food is great but be ready for some attitude

By rodztravel |

This is an interesting place. All details are very charming and the menu is really good, but the service can be weird. I've been there twice. The first one without a reservation and the second one I had a reservation. The owner/manager wasn't necessarily nice. I wouldn't go back there if I had other options simply because I felt I was treated with arrogance and disrespect. It's a shame because the food was really good.

Unique and Tasty Food

By Huntguy77 |

I think the food here is great. I always find a special that is really tasty. This trip I tried the Halloween Mediterranean stew with Andouille Sausage and two eggs. My wife had the Ghost omelets with fluffy egg whites. The youngster had the blueberry French Toast. The only issues were a couple pieces of unripe pineapple and my wife thought the lump crab meet overpowered the other flavors in the Ghost omelets. The bacon dipped in the blueberry syrup was a big hit.

Great food, fun attitude

We loved breakfast at this restaurant with a cheaky attitude behind the counter. Everyone working there was so fun! Service was excellent. Food was amazing. LGBTQ+ friendly.

Great breakfast

By rapjkp |

Our large family went here for breakfast before graduation. We needed a filling meal to get us through the over 3 hour graduation ceremony at Tech. We were rewarded by this choice, an easy walk from the Renaissance Midtown. It is a small place and the decor and service can be quirky but it was also personal and quick. The menu is very unusual with very different breakfast options but the less adventurous can also get standard eggs and bacon. Good bellinis and Bloody Mary. Several of us ordered the Agean stew of sausage in a spicy tomato based sauce with mideastern spices(this description doesn't do it justice) and it was very tasty. I don't think this place is for everyone but we all really enjoyed it. We left full and satisfied.

Babs a must in Atlanta.

By GaryLNI |

Fantastic brunch. Great friendly service, really original menu, great food and the ā€œDolly Partonā€ dump cake was awesome.

Ecclectic breakfasts and the awful server

By whatever4631 |

The menu was full of a good variety of eclectic breakfast fare along with a handful of specials. There were seven of us, so we were able to try a good portion of the menu. All the food was good and portions were almost too large. Only negative was that our server was a women who seemed not to enjoy being a server. We were unlucky enough to have her, but were able to hear how wonderful the other two make servers were. If you get the female, do yourself a favor and request one of the two guys be your server.

Great brunch!

By Jwilbur S |

The owner/exec chef always offers the favorites but wntices us with hearty surprises too! This weekend was the turkey sandwiah with goat cheese!! The sweet potatoe fries were a great way to complete the meal with the Babs Special sauce! Delightful as always!

Best brunch in the ATL

By Peto F |

Babs is flat out amazing. I love this place for its food, unique location, decorations, atmosphere, and uniqueness of the specials. By far the sweet potato fries with curry sauce are my favorite. Please order it.

Save this place for weekend brunch not weekday breakfast

By Paul K |

Although the Crispy Omelette was very tasty, the weekday breakfast menu is very limited with only omelettes, eggs your way, or a bagel. So, if you know that you and your party want only eggs and toast, then maybe this will satisfy you. Given the rave reviews of brunch, and the overall impression I got from breakfast, I will return, but only for sunday brunch.

A Total Experience

By Lewis S |

Last Sunday was our first visit to Babs, and we will return. We learned quickly that Randy is an integral part of the experience. Similar to others, and is standard, while waiting for a table, we looked at the menu. Don't. Because Randy will make recommendations, and you will follow them. With each dish an experience. My 22 year old son, entered the restaurant just wanting eggs and toast, when he sat down he said - "well, I guess I'm eating eggplant". Read the Tao of Pooh, and you will learn to "go with the flow". At Bab's, going with the flow means listening to Randy.

Terrible Service at Babs

By Valerie T |

We were greeted by a fast speaking , rude man who seemed impatient with our efforts to review the very wordy menu. He seemed unwilling to explain any details about the menu choices. I told him that I liked savory foods and he gave me a suggestion that I didn’t want. Upon telling him I wanted something else, he became even more disrespectful. He interrupted me, rushed me, and showed no sense of hospitality under the defense of, ā€œwe’re very busy.ā€ Although I understand this I would have been happy to step aside & given a chance to review the options. You have to decide on your order right upon stepping into the restaurant despite them having waiters and an abundance of menus that they can pass down the line but choose not to. Not a good representation of your establishment. Although the food and the others who helped us were wonderful, I will not return. Rudeness has no place in hospitality/customer service , especially when he is the initial encounter . We had actually been here a Few years ago but had a different experience. However after this experience, I will never return .

Great place for brunch or lunch. A little pricey but very good food. I would often get the sweet potato fries, so Good!

Something different!

If your looking for something different for breakfast, this is the place. Always special, changing menu, always delicious! Try Babs in mid-town Atlanta for a very good breakfast.

Among Atlanta breakfast spots, middle of the pack

By LivingLocally |

Went for an early breakfast a few days ago, to wrap up an wonderful 3 days visit of Atlanta. Good food overall, but not what I'd recommend if you're coming in from out of town -- much better ATL options in my opinion (my recommendations: Atlanta Breakfast Club, Silver Skillet and Hen Mother Cookhouse). To add to this, didn't have the best customer service experience - we were the first to arrive, and who I assume is the owner, scolded us for not saying good morning to him prior to asking about seating. Moreover, as he heard my wife and I speak Portuguese, it seems like he assumed we didn't speak English at all and proceeded to speak to us v e r y s l o w l y, with a little Spanglish thrown in there, even after responding in English (I'm from the U.S. and my wife is Brazilian). To say the least, the experience soured the eggs a bit. Otherwise, a decent spot if your into brunch, but definitely better breakfast options out there!

Crave worthy!!!!

By 72800407 |

Oh my gosh. I stumbled upon this little gem. They had a shrimp salad as one of their specials- fresh greens, fresh dill, fresh corn....it is beyond amazing!!!! I could eat this every day. I will go back!

Will not go back

By WorldTravelDevotee |

This was the first and last time we'll eat there. The food was fantastic! The service and attitudes of the staff were horrible!!!

Excellent breakfast!! Great little hole in the wall restaurant!!

By 1NaMillion77 |

We walked 1.4m from our hotel & it was definitely worth it (it even sprinkled at little). The food was great & I tend to judge places by how great their breakfast. Soon as we walked in we were seated by the window and our drink orders where taken. They give you plenty of food for the price. I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area. I'd definitely go back again...can't wait!!

Good food Great fun

By frauduck |

Had brunch here on a lovely autumn day---perfect for sitting out on the patio to watch people and the birds in the fountain. I had one of the specials: a salmon cake topped with over-easy eggs with an arugula salad and pan roasted potatoes. It was great. One member of our party had the french toast, another had a Mediterranean special, and another had the pumpkin risotto. All were happy. They even came with cute marshmallow ghosts. The service was quirky but happy and accurate. I enjoyed our server and the guys in the kitchen I met on the way to the restroom (it's a small place). :-) Great experience overall. Oh, and parking is easy for midtown with a private lot.

Good food didn't make up for less than poor service

By CN D |

I wish the food would have been able to redeem our experience here but it just didn't quite cut it. Upon arriving we had to ask three different people if we were able to get a table. The first two people, standing right next to each other, had to wait to be prompted by us "hi, there are 2 of us"...they both asked us if we had reservations and when we said no, they just passed us off to the next person, who asked us the same questions. FInally we were able to get a table, but I almost wish we hadn't. The server never made eye-contact, recited the menu in a completely monotonous voice like a script, and when we asked to see the specials menu that she had just recited, she rolled her eyes and said they didn't have it written anywhere, and that she had "just told us what was on it". The service continued to be absolutely subpar throughout the meal. The food was good, once we realized what our options were to order, but it wasn't outstanding enough to excuse the bad service. When leaving to pay our bill, the person at the counter made the process more complicated than it had to be, which didn't leave us on a great note either unfortunately. Overall, it was a really poor experience - I wish we wanted to return to try again, but it just doesn't feel worth it.

A Change of Pace

By hope2332 |

My husband and I decided to get some breakfast on a Sunday morning and was just looking around for something other than the Waffle House or IHOP. We stopped by a couple of places and didn’t feel like waiting because it was raining and we would have had to stand outside. Babs came up on our search menu, so we decided to stop there. This place is really kind of tucked away and seems more like a neighborhood restaurant. It’s pretty small on the inside but the seating in spaced far enough, so you don’t feel like you’re sitting with strangers. Though the place is small, it’s just gives you the feel like your not in Atlanta any more. I guess that is good for me because I live here and all but I guess what I am saying is that it is a change of pace for me. The food is good. I figured it was going to be a little more than I usually pay for breakfast or brunch, so don’t go here expecting Waffle house or IHOP prices. But still, it’s not as expensive if you have an open mind to a little more. The menu is very limited, as limited as 7 to 8 options, however, if you just want something plane, like eggs, bacon and hash browns, waffles, ect., they can fix that for you. I think they just skip out on printing the obvious choices. My husband ordered some type of omelet with salmon on the inside and I must say that it was delicious. It does have a lot of different flavors and textures (creamy) going on with it, however, if you like that kind of stuff going on, get that. To top it off, it was a large portion with fruit and hash browns (actually triangular cut potatoes) on the side. This item was bout $13 bucks but worth it. I got an omelet in it as well, with ham and hash brown, red peppers and something else in it. Now that was awesome, I really enjoyed my meal. With both our meals and coffee and a couple of fruity beverages, it was about $30 bucks. All and all, the experience was good. The waiting staff was really nice, sometimes very playful. Some patrons didn’t like that some much, so the waiters were very attentive to that and toned it down a lot to accommodate their needs.

Cant beat the food and service!

By AFish |

My husband and I were staying at the nearby Hotel Indigo and wanted some place good (but not fancy) for Sunday Brunch. The concierge gave one recommendation- Babs. Walking up to the small establishment I had my doubts. We sat out on the patio, had coffee and a meal each. The service was friendly and top notch. The restaurant had an impressive list of fresh daily specials and the waiter even brought a bit of one he thought we would enjoy to try! The food was well seasoned and creative. If ever back in Atlanta I will be sure to go back!

Great food and service with a surprise ending!

By Michelle L |

My husband and I read great things about this place and wanted to try brunch on our way out of Atlanta. We got right in. They were so kind to ask if we'd like to be moved after a few mins as we were seated next to a large family with kids. We declined and enjoyed a delicious brunch with a propeitary Nicaraguan coffee! The service was very warm and we practically licked our plates clean. We were getting ready to leave when they asked if we'd like dessert. We were stuffed and declined but I believe it was the manager who said. "Oh no, you have to try a piece of cake!" He was right, it was delicious and I thought--what a nice touch to bring out a free dessert. But when I saw the bill it was in there. I'm not taking anything away from the great food or service but to have a dessert brought to your table when you didn't order it, I was surprised to see we were charged for it. It left a bad taste in my mouth. We left happy, I just thought that was weird, and flawed my experience. 5 stars for food and service the surprise was just that...and in retrospect I suppose just made our visit that much more memorable. You decide what you think of that surprise ending.

good place for a coffee...

good place for a coffee and a sandwhich

Brunch Favorite (plus all else)

By Jimboinms |

Waking up a tad 'hungover', I needed a brunch on Friday serving Bloody Mary's. Babs serves a 'rice wine' Bloody Mary and IT WORKED!!! Oh yes, the breakfast was great with more food than you can eat. Amazing friendly and accepting location. A strong recommendation from me gang!!

Not worth it

By leavinATL |

I read several reviews about this quaint little place in midtown and decided to give it a try. Although it was quite cute, I was not impressed. There was a very limited brunch menu and the service also left much to be desired. It was also quite pricey for very low quality food. The syrup they served me was a single serve Smuckers pack...geez! The bottom line is...skip this place unless you like soggy waffles and overcooked bacon!

A hearty and tasty breakfast at a reasonable price!

By TarHeelLady |

My friend and I had a very nice brunch here before seeing Hamilton at the Fox Theater nearby. The desk clerk at our hotel recommended it as being a good breakfast place in easy walking distance, and we were so glad he did. We both got the Juniper Street breakfast, with eggs, bacon, potatoes, bread, and fruit garnish for $9.75. Everything was very good, and though they were pretty busy, service was good too. (If you eat inside, you'll notice a cute collection of snow globes on display from all over the world.) According to their menu, they can provide gluten free toast if you prefer it. I would definitely return here next time I'm in town!

Wonderful brunch spot

By Dawn E |

I was staying in a local Midtown hotel and read about this restaurant on-line. It was highly recommended, so we gave it a try. Would totally agree with other reccs! It had convenient (and free!) parking, decor inside was inviting, coffee was excellent and breakfast very tasty. My niece and I had eggs and potato dishes. The serving was ample size (neither of us were able to finish) and tasty. Staff were all very friendly. Prices were very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

Would recommend

By Ash & Jon |

We thought the food & setting were perfect for a Saturday morning in Atlanta! One look at the menu told us this was a place we needed to check out. We were not disappointed. Other reviewers have mentioned rude service from front of house but we beg to differ - but we’re both take a joke, sarcastic people. This man knew his menu & wasn’t afraid to give recommendations as to what you should eat based upon what you told him you liked. Food isn’t about being a ā€˜special snowflake’, it’s about trusting the chef and menu that is in front of you. All the better to have someone guide you through it and actually care enough to tell you what they think you should eat. Turns out he was right and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals from drinks to food! Service was basic as to be expected. Order at counter, they tell you where to sit, drinks were never empty & plates were cleaned up timely. Very efficient set up. Do not miss this place!

Brunch!!!!

By Dennis D |

One of the best brunch in town. It is a small funky place but the vibe is good and the food is excellent.

Not family friendly. Being patient and understanding is more important then ā€œwelcomingā€

By James R |

We went on a recommendation of a friend but were not happy and left as we were being seated. We have a one year old toddler but constantly felt as if the staff had to make special accommodations. We made a reservation for 12:15 and between 12:05 and 12:13 I was asked 3 times if the rest of our party was on its way and we should accommodate ourselves at the table. We were told how they had a ā€œsmall place and were really busyā€ which made us feel like our stroller was constantly in their way. Our toddler was playing with pebbles outside and the host emphasized that ā€œhis kids did not behave that way at other people’s housesā€. You can call yourself ā€œwelcomingā€ but a little bit of patience and understanding may go a little further for the small people (toddlers).

Delicious. Dog friendly patio.

By Maria J |

We were in Atlanta without a car and needed a place we could bring our dogs so we decided to Uber to Babs after calling and being told they had a dog friendly patio ā€œfirst come first serveā€. Turns out I should have made a reservation but after a short wait they sat us outside and brought fresh water for the pups. The restaurant is small and some of the patio seating has no sun cover which can be extremely hot but if you don’t have pets you can sit inside. The food was delicious and fresh. I had the risotto of the day which was sweet corn and saffron with eggs, pita toast and fresh fruit. My husband had the Greek omelette served with roasted potatoes, toast and fruit. Everything was excellent, service was fast and coffee hit the spot. I had the regular coffee but my husband indulged in two cappuccinos and could have had a third had we not been in a rush to get out of town. We didn’t get to try dessert but they sure looked good so next time we may get a bit less food so we can manage the sweets. This may seem silly to many but I LOVED that they use paper straws which are so much more environmentally friendly. Little details like this plus the delicious food and relaxed vibe are sure to bring us back when visiting Atlanta with or without the pups.

Great breakfast, service horrible!

By MichalLP |

Our group of five adults had zero complaints about our food or our waiter (white haired, bearded gentleman). He was fantastic, informative, and friendly. However, a gentleman that may have been the host, cashier, or owner turned out stomach! From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were putting someone out by wanting to dine. This guy was impatient, eye-rolling, and frustrated. It felt like he could not stand to be near us and we had no special requests and were friendly as can be. Many of the reviews cited bad service and I really assumed that was subjective. However, I will never go back regardless of how much we loved our server and everything we ate! This was a 5-star place with one bad apple.

This place is awesome

By Jbikshorn |

The food is great and the atmosphere is also great if not better. I had a chickpea special that was awesome. My friends all got different things and everyone claimed theirs was the best. Awesome lemonade. Really friendly staff made great suggestions

Cozy, quirky and totally enjoyable

By Dayn R |

Called a few different places to grab lunch/brunch Sunday morning. Called Babs and you could hear the energy and excitement over the phone. Asked about any specials and was directed to Facebook as the theme changed weekly. The abruptness of the conversation from the other end was so unique for lack of a better term I decided right then and there we were walking to go eat right away! Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and sat quickly. Coffee was started - they even prepared an Americano to my liking - and the flurry of ordering ensued! Above and beyond all else the conversation, interaction, wit and whimsy were most enjoyable and although the meal was fantastic it was only part of why we'll be back. The entire waitstaff was pleasant, attentive and great to chat with. The entire meal was a success and I'd give it a 6 out of 5 if I could... Or for the Spinal Tap fans out there - an 11!

Delicious food, friendly service

By Carly I |

Impeccable service: refilling coffee and water without you asking. Awesome food: three different breakfast specials as well as HUGE high quality omelet. I got the Bab's Omelet, and my boyfriend got the Crunchy Omelet. Both were delicious and came with fruit, toast and savory roasted potatoes.

Great Food/Excellent Service!

By ah64fish |

We’ve lived 4 blocks from Babs for 8 years and finally decided to stop in. We’ve been missing out! The service was truly great. They get you in and out, but you can chill and have another mimosa if you’d like. They’re sizable pours. Be sure to listen to all the specials. The brunch menu isn’t large, but they rattled off about 5 specials that all sounded great. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. We’ll be repeat visitors!

Spoiled by cashier

By nigel s |

Extremely rude cashier/ front of house. Sarky, condescending, and unfriendly. Food was ok, coffee Luke warm, disappointing. Price seemed high for midtown. Don’t understand it’s good reviews. My recommendation, avoid.

Amazing Brunch!

By JunoMI |

We found Babs on TA and were extremely happy. It's a breakfast/lunch place situated in the neighborhoods of MidTown Atlanta. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and they have a great outdoor patio. I had the cornucopia and it was outstanding. Definitely have brunch here if you are staying in midtown. You won't regret it!

Amazing Brunch!

By Kristi Jo J |

Walked here from a local Air BnB and had a great brunch. The host was super friendly and the restaurant was very unique.

good food, but extremely poor customer service

By Lee W |

Although food was quite good and reasonably priced, the customer service and treatment of guests was horribly lacking such as to negate what otherwise could be been a solid dining experience . For example, my wife was berated by management while ordering our entrees for no apparent reason. I was warned to keep the door closed — as I was going in on crutches — to meet her. I also observed a couple being told to vacate immediately by management after finishing their breakfast before even finishing their coffee. A second couple who requested to sit by the window — when the restaurant had several empty tables — was denied because they were a party of 2 but the table conceivably could sit 3 Any guest thinking of eating at Babs must factor in how important being treated respectfully is in addition to the food, particularly given the breadth of excellent brunch spots in midtown.

Gay Old Time

By Emily S |

Holy brunch time! This was so awesome! We got the butternut squash and goat cheese lasagna with an egg on top, and blueberry french toast cobbler. It blew our gay little socks off. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and fit us right in on a busy Sunday. So good. Will dream about this food.

DELICIOUS & AMAZING SERVICE

By MlleMimi |

I was in Atlanta for the weekend with my boyfriend and we decided to have lunch in this cute restaurant. First of all the food is excellent but the service is even better. They will give you advices for short travel experience in Atlanta! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Awesome brunch, great little place!

By Victoria G |

I decided to try Bab's while in Atlanta for a wedding afters seeing rave reviews on TripAdvisor. And I am so glad that I did! It's a small little place on the side of a shared building - If I didn't already know it was in that area I would've completely missed it. The menu was full of yummy options with very modest prices. I opted for their special of the day: blueberry french toast, blueberry syrup, home-fried potatoes, bacon, eggs, and fruit, accompanied by a huge cappuccino. Every bite was scrumptious! The service was wonderful as well! I'll definitely visit again when I make my way back up there. Highly recommend anything on their menu!

We went here because it had been recommended to us.

By albanywanderer |

Babs was recommended to us by the prospective bride and groom and it had special meaning because the groom's grandmother was named Babs. So a large group of family members went here for breakfast...it is a small place but we had good breakfast-type food and very good service.

Delicious breakfast with great coffee

By jenb33 |

Delicious breakfast with great coffee- what more could you ask for. A few tables outside which is nice place to sit and they are dog friendly!

Great Find for an Autumn Brunch

By Chadly_21 |

Visiting Atlanta for a film festival we were walking around Midtown looking for a late breakfast. Decide to go to one of the first places that popped up on Maps and we're quite happy that Babs was what we found. Very friendly service and creative menu with amazing food. We all had the Cornucopia which was fantastic! If your ever in the area you won't be disappointed if you stop in.

Great food

By keithtdesigns |

First off, this is not fancy dining. It is a bit of a dive, but don't judge a book by it's cover. We were there for Sunday brunch and it was awesome. I would definitely go back. Service is fun. Food is delish. Worth seeking out and trying. It is quite popular, so get there early for brunch.

The food? None better - just go!

By Allyson M |

I have never been to Atlanta. On my way to the airport, I stopped for brunch at Babs Midtown. When approaching the door, it was apparent that this was not brunch as usual. The dĆ©cor, the vibe…this was something unique. I was greeted upon entering and quickly understood that this was not your basic eggs benedict kind of a place. As I was unfamiliar with the menu and have dietary restrictions, Randy (the owner) asked me a few questions and easily guided me to what has become the best breakfast I have ever had. Shakshuka! Also, (a BIG ALSO), he said they had gluten free (GF) bread, which I said no to (as it is generally not good). He said they make everything in house, so I took the risk, and it was the best GF bread I have had in 35 years. Now I want him to ship me a loaf. My entire breakfast was a blend of ingredients that were texturally perfect, with high flavor and the shakshuka had a spot-on spicy kick (in response to one of his pre-meal questions). The coffee was the right temperature and great. There is no way to have made this entire experience better. (Even the bathrooms were perfectly clean.) I am not kidding when I say that it has been 2 months of me thinking about going back to Atlanta – specifically to Babs - just for brunch. Thank you, Randy, and everyone at Babs Midtown. Five stars are not enough.

Very good

By bryan-jojo |

Very nice place, very cute. The waiter looks clean. The place looks very clean as well. I had the Jupiter, bacon eggs and potatoes, what a nice place. I recommend it

Amazing...

By Eric G |

Best breakfast place I’ve ever been to in my life… Extremely creative menu, executed very well and the service surprisingly fast - given the eclectic range of offerings. Great atmosphere & service and I recommend just going with whatever your server recommends...If you are in Midtown Atlanta and looking for breakfast you definitely do not wanna pass this place up.

Babs for Brunch -- Can't go Wrong

By NYCGuy321 |

This is a great place for breakfast or brunch. We love the omelet with tater tots, among other things. Service is efficient, decor is whimsical (be sure to check out the special salt and pepper shakers on the mantle). Food is very good for comfort food. Worth a trip. Reasonably priced, too.

Amazing food and servixe

By sweetoniongal |

My sister and I had breakfast here on a Wednesday morning in June. We had the places to ourselves around 9:30 AM because all the locals go early before work (so we were told). The server told us not to bother with the regular menu bc they were known for their specials. We wanted his honesty and recommendations so we trusted him and ordered out of our comfort zones. Can you say amazing? Our breakfast entrees were as beautiful as they were appetizing. Service was phenomenal. It was so good that we even had dessert. Yes dessert for breakfast. The calories were well worth it. We can’t wait to visit Bab’s again. Convenient, cheap parking too!

Great Food and Service. Owner: Will & Grace went off the air 10 years ago

By AtlantaLuvTaTravel |

Wow, the food was wonderful here and the service was fantastic. Will and Grace went off the air 10 years ago, oops it's back and the owner thinks the sassy lip is cute, but I found it just rude. Cute little restaurant in an old house reminds me of the Midtown Atlanta I remember 20 years ago when parking was free and there were several unique restaurants like this (but then so was crime). Times change and so has Midtown with all of the high rises and I think that's a good think. Check out the specials that they have which are wonderful and inventive. Staff is super attentive. Just ignore the owner if you're not in to that type of "sass" lol.

Singing praises for this delightful place

By sjohnson517 |

We stumbled across Bab's for breakfast and boy am I glad we did. The host/owner? Has a wonderful wit and is a nice change of pace. The food was creative and scrumptious. I had palenta, eff, and greens with a chili sauce. Fantastic! My girl had the spice chicken hash. Good stuff! And the service? Johnny on the spot! We had barely ordered and our food was delivered. The watermelon mimosa was different yet tasty. You can bet we'll be back every chance we get to visit Atlanta.

Don't No if a 2 is right

By MyExperience2019 |

First of all if you visit resturants off their reviews believe me do some further investigating. Went here to have bunch on my birthday bad "Idea". The name caught my eye "Babs" is my childhood nickname so I thought check it out for namesake. Check the reviews looked at online menu said let's go I had to wait a few minutes on my friend and I was treated like I was loitering. Ask if I had a reservation and clearly I could count the customers I said no do we need one. I was told it's best in cast they become crowded ? On ok then I start walking to sitting out side, I sat 3 mins and another server came ask me the same question I repeat the conversation I had with the first server and explained I was waiting on someone and hope they will be ample space to accommodate us. That server left and I had got a call and my friend said they were near. I told them what was going on they said very close sit tight. They called me and I went to their car. They said I didn't want to discourage you because everybody perceive things differently. They said they were talking to some other friends and mention they were going to Babs' in Midtown and they said have you been there they said no first time...they laughed and said it probably be your last time. Of course they became concern because they knew how much I wanted to go because of my name sake but they didn't want me to have a bad experience for my birthday. So the shared their past experiences and said that they felt very uncomfortable because they received cold and very unprofessional service and they notice when the server was waiting on other customers they had a upbeat and professional attitude....huhh yes they said it they felt discriminated aganist and took there experience viral because they didn't want no one they knew to go there and have to experience what they had. So all I'm telling people read reviews but try to talk to someone you know that's been to get a real review. Oh yes we left never had to endure that experience, already had experienced harassment just waiting less then 10 minutes for my friend.

Hidden Gem.....

By Cindy C |

What an amazing little restaurant.....while visiting Atlanta, we were looking for a nice place to have breakfast. Located close to the Fox Theatre. Based on reviews we read, we thought we would try it and we were not disappointed. An artsy place.... a small cafe...there were two men running the restaurant and they were busy. The menu is compact, but packs a big punch. We delighted in the specials... Fresh Blueberry French Toast with potatoes and fresh fruit (absolutely delicious), House Special Omelet...unbelievable. A place everyone should try Bab’s !

Great welcome and awesome food!

By jos_adventures_begin |

We were looking for some pre-race food where we would have the option of carb loading for our race or for indulging, since it was a holiday weekend. We scored and we scored big! There was something for everyone! The staff was attentive and had a great sense of humor! The food portions were huge and fresh! We hope to be joining them on our next visit to Midtown!

Hoped for a bit more

By Derekloui |

Concierge suggested babs as it is a staple of atlanta, had the juniper street breakfast, which whilst was very tasty, must admit there was nothing special that would have set it apart from many other diners or breakfast spots in the city. Pricing is very good so a thumbs up if you compare the the cost of breakfast in many hotels these days.

Ask for Randy

Love this place. They vary the menu constantly to add a little bit of "what's next" to the customers. The culinary originality , and flavor is amazing. The place is small, and in what almost looks like a basement which adds a "cool" and "cozy" factor. Call ahead , and make a reservation if it's a Saturday or Sunday brunch.

Brunched

By KrispyPlymouth |

Sunday brunch here is a lot of fun. This restaurant is pretty small but the tables are well placed to allow maximum occupancy. Portion size is huge so go hungry then be prepared not to eat again for at least 6 hours! Omelettes are delicious and come with fresh fruit and toast. About $15 per person including coffee or fruit juice.

I was good, but you have to be in the mood.

By Robinest01 |

To be honest, when we took a quick look at the menu, we almost walked out. They only have a few options and its really not traditional brunch fare. We ended up having a couple of unique dishes. One was like a quiche but in a phyllo dough. It was fine, but really a little bland. The other dish was a stew with eggs. The flavor was good and a bit spicy, but it lacked a solid starch like potato, grits or couscous. Overall, the service was very good and it's a cute little place. The food was good, but not great. I don't think we'll be going back.

First visit was a charm

By Jodi P |

I wish we lived in Atlanta so we could come back. My husband had a Moroccan egg dish with sausage that couldn't be improved upon. The flavors were truly delicious. I had an equally good crab and avacado omelet. The restaurant is small with an eclectic feel to it. The owner seemed friendly with the regular diners, and was equally nice to us.

Not Bad, Not Great.

By jimmerhand |

I ate at Bab's today with a colleague. There is a nice outdoor seating area, though when the sun peaks over the building across the street it gets pretty warm. The servers were friendly, though not very attentive. We both had the clam chowder (which was good) and the chicken hash. Overall, not a bad experience.

Lovely little restaurant in Midtown

By MELANIETHERED |

This place is a great place for a nice meal. We came for breakfast, but would love to come for lunch sometime. We had the omelet with AMAZING home fried potatoes. And let me just say the coffee is outstanding! !! Wish they opened earlier in the morning, but this place has a fun eclectic atmosphere and is definitely worth a stop!!

Amazing food!

Loved the place! Even as a vegetarian, the food was brilliant. The ambience and the service were good.

Good place for breakfast

By Michael M |

The physical plant is a tad worn. However, the food is quite tasty. The service can be a bit scattered though.

Incredible food that's distinctly Bab's

By Ian F |

The food here is fantastic. I went at breakfast and the owner helped me pick out what I would like based on my taste preference. I got the shrimp and roasted tomatoes with an egg. It was like menemen met Cajun, met Moroccan. The owner is sassy, and if that bothers you then try your best to roll with it. They want to take care of you and give you their best meal. My only issue is that I'm from out of town and I won't be able to come back until I'm back in Atlanta.

Sassy, Saucy and Superb

By SandBAtlanta |

We absolutely *love* going to Babs on Sundays for brunch! Every Sunday is a menu surprise with interesting, healthy, and not so healthy but delicious options. The service is sassy and saucy, but that's what makes Babs so unique. We also love the "elixirs" they serve on Sundays, and of course the desserts are fabulous. I strongly encourage you to make a reservation, and bring your appetites because Babs doesn't skimp on portions. Have fun and say hi to Randy!

Tasty brunch

By WeLikeToWander |

Stopped by after an early GA Tech Homecoming Parade for brunch - within easy walking distance from Tech and a warm welcome and tasty brunch - it is a small venue with high demand (at least it was when we were there!) so, as in Paris during crunch time(s), tables turn over quickly so don't plan to linger around once done - you can move over to the reception area if needed. Reservations are recommended.

An Oscar-Worthy Disaster: A Dining Experience to Forget!

By Alex O |

Absolutely AWFUL! We were greeted by a host who must have thought he was auditioning for the role of Joan Crawford in ā€œMommy Dearest.ā€ Honestly, it felt like we had stumbled onto the set of his one-man show—complete with the glitter, drama, and zero charm! After being rushed to order, we went with two basic omelets and coffee, praying for a kitchen miracle. Spoiler: No miracle. The food was so bland that even watching paint dry would feel like an adrenaline rush by comparison. When the bill hit $35, I half-expected a medal for surviving this culinary disaster! We left with an ironclad promise to NEVER return. Seriously, do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else! Your taste buds will thank you!

Good food, good service, weird atmosphere, Perfect!

By Adam B |

We walked in with out reservations, but were seated about 15 minutes later. The small kitchen was working hard, but putting on consistently good meals. I had the crispy omelet, which was stuffed with tater tots. I now wish I had gotten the butternut squash lasagna. Overall, a good experience and would like to try other non-brunch items.

A nice place known to Locals

By Grady S |

We went to breakfast there, with a total of 9 people, which stretched the place, since it is small. The service was superb, the food good and the prices were reasonable. it is quite small, and obviously known to "locals" which populated the place when we were there. The group had a variety of items off the menu and all enjoyed it. It is the place to go, if "you are in the know".

Been waiting to come here and finally made it over. This place is really awesome and interesting. Food selection is by far will blow you away. The specials will amaze. Try it and you won't be disappointed . You will be smiling the whole time.

Quaint little place, hidden in the basement of a older Juniper St. home, turned business.

Chicken with Brie sandwich is my go to choice, accompanied by the delicious sweet potato fries. It's the dipping sauce that comes with the fries that make this place so unique.

Delicious Sunday Brunch!

By Gina H |

My husband and I were staying at the Georgian Terrace and looking for an alternative to the hotel's pricey cafe on Sunday morning. We walked three blocks down to Babs and were pleasantly surprised. We chose the Eggs Portofino and the Italian Holiday. Yummy!! Everything was fresh and very tasty. The portion sizes are large..... around $13 each. The place is so quaint and has a delightful atmosphere with great music playing. They also have the largest snow globe collection I've ever seen. Very cool place! We will be back!!

Charming and Delicious

By soitgoes14 |

We stopped in on a Sunday morning for brunch and we were not disappointed. The location is small but has some nice patio seating. It was very warm when we walked in and we were a little worried about the lack of AC especially with it being summer, but once we were seated the fans made the restaurant very comfortable and we were very happy we stayed. Service was helpful. They seemed a bit busy and perhaps not as attentive as we would have liked, but when they were there our waiter was very polite and informative. It may have just been a busy day. They have a small menu but they seemed to have just as many specials as they had regular menu items. I like that. It seemed to allow the chefs to focus on fresh items and both of our meals were fresh and delicious. I had a chicken hash dish that was great and my girlfriend had eggs and bacon breakfast. We heard a lot of hype about their food and I feel they lived up to it. This is a great spot in midtown for brunch.

Great breakfast.

By rblgirlie |

We were looking for a good breakfast place in Atlanta and really enjoyed it. Homey ambience and friendly service. Great omelets and breakfast potatoes. The Moroccan stew was delish! Good variety of traditional and eclectic breakfast fare.

First time going to this place and we will for sure go back. Not sure how we have not heard about Babs given how long it has been around. Neat, unique location and loved the outside eating area. Very diverse good menu. Follow their suggestions on differnt things to order. The Blueberry French Toast was amazing!

In Atlanta for business and had to check this place out. Had a great breakfast at Babs. Don't miss out...has very different dishes with a special flair. If oyu love coffee, OMG it is awesome. I bought some to take home with me.

Funky, quirky and tasty

By RayBro |

We were looking for a place within walking distance of 3rd and Peachtree NE and Bab's popped up. We had no idea what to expect and were pleased the we came here. There was a crowd and we had to wait but only about 15 minutes. We were told the menu changed weekly and this one was a Halloween theme. Within a few minutes we had placed our orders and I wish I could remember the names of all the meals. I had the Ghost. My wife had blueberry French toast in a bread pudding style (I can't remember the Halloween name for it) and asked for her bacon to be crisp. She was told that is the only way they serve it! The food arrived after a normal wait and was some of the best breakfast/brunch food we have ever had. I loved the marshmallow "headstone" that accompanied the meal. Portions were plentiful. Prices seemed to be like other sit-down's in mid-town and it was between Bab's or Waffle House, we are glad we picked Bab's. You will too. I didn't ask for permission for the photo, I hope they don't mind.

Amazing breakfast

Breakfast is usually the same things or when something different is tried it is just weird. Well not here, I had the blueberry French toast and it was amazing. It came with bacon, eggs and potatoes. Oh did I mention the awesome service.

Loved this little nook. They have really good coffee, which was something I was having trouble finding in Atlanta. lots of character, there was a shrine to Divine, which we LOVED. Staff was super fun and friendly, we still think about this place often.

If a predictable menu and sterile environment is what makes you comfortable -stay away from here. This place has personality and sass. And delicious food. Fresh roasted Nicaraguan coffee and shrimp with veggie quiche was a satisfying start to our day.

Bad Taste

By Dawn P |

We found this little place and thought it looked like a great spot for brunch. We made a reservation, but we directed to the ā€œloungeā€ to wait for a table for a few minutes to wait. We witnessed the owner call out a mother/daughter who seemed to notice another party were called before them. The woman took his remarks well telling her, ā€œI saw that look on your face, they had a reservationā€. He was obviously trying to be funny, but it came off as rude. Our server was warm and welcoming. She was happy to repeat the specials for us and offered great service. Despite there being NO WAIT and empty tables, the owner asked us to ā€œmove to the loungeā€ after we paid our check as we were searching our phones for our next destination. He said, ā€œwhen I see the phones come out, it’s time to move on.ā€ Seriously? We were are party of four fifty year old adults clearly having a conversation and not settling in to take up his table for the morning. We had not taken up an unusual amount of time at our table and there were tables available around us. We left and agreed that the food was fine but the experience with the owner/manager left us regretting our decision.

Okay food, dusty inside

By AnonymousCLE |

Like the title says, Food was okay - regular breakfast. They need to vacuum once in a while. The walls and windows and some trash everywhere looks gross. The old guy talks about specials for 5 minutes, and then guests choose eggs and potatoes or pancakes. Go cavs

Love the atmosphere

By iPhiginia |

The waiter (owner?) took so much pride in the creative specials! The food was pretty good, but mostly I just loved the vibe. We sat out on the patio and enjoyed the fountain and plantings. The only problem was that there is currently some loud construction across the street, but once that's completed I felt like this is the kind of place that would a reason to move to Atlanta.

Yum!

By ErinATL |

Babs was *the perfect* brunch spot for our slightly-hungover group on an early Sunday afternoon. If you're visiting Atlanta, put it on your list of places you must enjoy while here. You're in the heart of the city, yet feel like you've been invited into an old friends home. The food was spectacular. The specials are made with seasonal, home grown (straight from the owners organic garden!) veggies and are a thoughtful combination. The menu is small, so they do a few things, and they do them all REALLY WELL. They had a vegan option the day we were there, which was great. Definitely take your servers suggestions as well. We were not lead astray and everyone enjoyed their meal. A final note to those of you from up North -- the honest conversations and suggestions from the owner is a breath of fresh air down here. You'll feel right at home without hearing a "bless her heart" while you're there. :)

Good food :-D

By KitaTravels |

Popped in today for brunch and was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and laid-back atmosphere. We were looking for place that served weekday brunch and I'm so glad that we ended up here. I love the warm, homey feeling that you get when you walk into the restaurant. Today I had the chicken and chorizo quiche. It was delicious. The flavors were there and it was perfectly cooked. I love that it was a slightly more dense quiche that I normally encounter. It was served with breakfast potatoes, 2 slices of toast, green salad, melon slice, and orange wedge. It was a beautiful plate with generous portions. I tasted the crunchy omelet, which also came with 2 toast slices, breakfast potatoes, melon and orange. It was also very tasty. We learned that the crunchy omelet dish has won an award with Jezebel magazine. The menu offers lots of tasty selections. I saw a few dishes that i want to try on my next visit like the Chicken and Brie panini. I was super interested in trying their mimosas and special elixir bellinis, but those were really only available on the weekends and not during weekdays. Bummer! But I shall return. Complimentary 2 hour parking in the parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.

Delicious local place in Midtown

By aBouncedCzech |

This place was recommended by our Airbnb host, and I'm glad they did. The food was delicious and the staff was hilarious and friendly. The food wasn't the only thing saucy here! Loved the sake bloody mary and the jambalaya omlette...probably the best jambalaya I've ever had. I'll have to remember this place next time I'm in town, even my wife (who used to live in the neighborhood) didn't know it was there.

Hidden gem, full of flavor and character

By Canuck_Amok |

I've heard about Babs for months and we finally went looking for it. My mind was blown by the coconut quinoa dish, and I emailed Randy for the recipe. My partner was impressed by the shakshuka and said the coffee was "very good." High praise from a coffee nerd! The fella behind the counter is warm but sassy, and kept me in stitches. Adding this place to our regular rotation. Fast and good! Prices on par for Midtown.

Sunday Brunch

By Patricia M |

Nice ecliptic place on Juniper. Small but very thoughtful menu. I've been several times and came away with similar thoughts. There's a lack of detail to the basics. Today I had a grilled cheese and ham that appears to have just been flipped on the grill once. I like my cheeses melted or at least on the way. I had a similar experience there before. Today's on the side toast could have been pulled from the bricks of the building. The rest of the meal was great and I really enjoyed it. Eggs and potatoes were on the mark. I'll go back again and again because most of all it's a great midtown place to meet friends. You do have to pay to park but with the app it was only $2.35 for 2 hours. I'd rather pay at a lot onsite that look for nearby parking

Great breakfast in unique setting

Found this place randomly, but so happy that we did. Excellent breakfast food, good service and a quirky, interesting setting. Will be back for sure to try some of the breakfast specials

Fantastic chilled breakfast spot

By MattJGibbs |

We were staying at The Georgian Terrace close by and wanted to escape their terrible breakfast so we gave Babs a try (named after a John Waters character). It was great, very laid back and relaxed, but with friendly service and a warm welcome. The area directly around Babs contains a lot of soulless chains so it was nice to find a one-off. Breakfast here was excellent, good coffee with endless top ups, and I had the special with eggs, bacon, potatoes and blueberry French toast. Set me up for the day and the venue and owner put a smile on our face. Thanks! Highly recommended for a laid-back no fuss filling breakfast in midtown.

Best breakfast in Atlanta

By mmhkw |

We stopped here after not being able to find parking at Atlanta Breakfast Club and seeing the excellent Yelp reviews as we were driving around. It's day two of our vacation, so we were looking for something delicious, local, and noncorporate that we can't get back home in Florida. Plus somewhere that had parking (here, 2 hours for $2). This is it. The food was mindblowingly good and I can say it was honestly the best, most original brunch/breakfast I've ever tasted. We sat outside at a high top and immediately were greeted and served an excellent coffee from a Nicaraguan co-op. It was touted as the best coffee in Atlanta and it probably is - we even bought a half pound to take to our Christmas cabin in the mountains. They were kind enough to grind it for us before we left. Next, the food. We had looked at the menu and decided what we wanted, but then the specials were mentioned and we changed track. We ordered Bab's Favorite (a Moroccan themed thinly sliced andouille sausage in a magical, mildly spicy Roma tomato sauce, naan, with eggs to order on top and we went scrambled) as well as one of the specials, which was all the ingredients of a Cuban mix sandwich folded with egg - they called it a bread pudding but I in my culinarily uneducated self thought of it as sort of like a delicious fluffy quiche - served with arugula in sea salt, excellent potatoes, and eggs to order as well (we went scrambled again). Both dishes came with pineapple, watermelon, and an exceedingly cute marshmallow gingerbread man. I don't even like marshmallows but this one was so good I scarfed it. This meal was so good it's just gonna force me to be happy al day despite the gloomy weather. Additionally, the entire time we were there the staff and owners took the time to actually converse with us. They asked our names and where we were going. I tried to convince them to move to key west and open an identical restaurant because I NEED this place in my life regularly. They gave us some recommendations for our drive up to the mountains and just chatted with us. One of the gentlemen brought us a delicious taste of pineapple mimosa so then we had to stick around and order two of those while we were gabbing. And before we left, we were handed two cups of that amazing coffee to go. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention - they use turtle-friendly paper straws for their drinks!!!! Being from he keys, this is really important to me. Eat here if you are nearby!!!! I'm so tired of the regular bacon, eggs, and pancakes of every other brunch in town and this place woke me up to what breakfast should be. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Solid midtown breakfast.

By markkX6690EX |

We ate at Babs the morning after a downtown concert. The restaurant has a mostly young, college age clientele. I had the Pumpkin Patch Risotto, and my wife had the special. Mine was very flavorful, and my wife loved hers.

Not to be Missed!

Blink and you might miss it, but then you will deprive yourself of a truly unique food experience in a great little neighborhood. Farm to Table breakfast, lunch and brunch with an eclectic twist that matches the atmosphere. This is my go-to when I'm in midtown and when the weather is good, the patio is the place to be.

Au revoir Alanta

By aenaes m |

This hidden gem tuck away needs to be EXPOSED!!! Of course in a GOOD way. This was my last stop leaving Atlanta. I had Omelet with Spinach, chevere goat cheese & grilled portobellos. And each omelet is served w/potatoes, fresh fruit & toast. The omelet was delicious and oh I added bacon (everything is better w/bacon) and the hence of gamey flavor from the goat cheese w/the juicy portobellos(everything was fresh). . This definitely made a FLORIDA ORANGE FEEL LIKE A GA PEACH. Also fyi don't drive too fast because you just might miss it.

Unexpected DELIGHT

By MarquezTyrell K |

Definitely Mom&Pop so look for small locale sign to let you know this is the restaurant. And the entrance is through the parking not the sidewalk that leads to patio/outdoor seating. For 10 a.m they were busy for the size of establishment (not ideal for a party over 4), yet I solo so I could squeeze in anymore. I was greeted by the only visible server, I was initially thrown off by his very brash tone and rushed service. Yet I didn't allow if to deter me from trying out the restaurant. I mentioned to him that I really needed a drink and he recommended BLOOD ORANGE MIMOSA (Amazing i had 2). He asked if I had any dietary restrictions (which I NEVER been asked b4), I do i am Pescatarian. He recommended several option with seafood and a couple of vegetarian options. The VEGETABLE HASH WAS AMAZING. We got through ordering and he informed me of my seating outside. Other surveyed the seen, I need they were Operating with a two man crew; him and the cook. So I began to change how I felt about his welcome and brash tone being I work in Hospitality and know how it can be to be busy and short staffed. I commend him on his service he stayed attentive to each customer, no empty drinks, I did not nor anyone I saw were waiting for food or checks. By time I left the several customers that were there had left and a new group had sat down. KUDOS to you TWO!!! Tables were cleared, sanitize and food was hitting tables. Think I found my new after gym breakfast spot Excuse typos im doing this on my phone as I leave the restaurant with 2 drinks in me. Friday 13th Visitor

Can I transport Babs to my home town??

By Kaela Z |

So glad we found this awesome little brunch place in Midtown! Cute little restaurant with a little patio - super friendly service, good coffee, awesome food. All three of us left the restaurant stuffed to the gills because we had all cleaned our plate! If I lived in Atlanta this would be a regular place for me!

Best brunch in Atlanta

By Jarred F |

This is one of midtown's best kept secrets. They deliver a unique menu each week. Food is always fresh and delicious. There can be a wait but the staff will get you a table and eating in a short time. The blueberry French Toast bread pudding is my favorite, the the Drunkin Chicken is also to die for.

Quirky, Tasty, Unforgetable

By drmac2012 |

Very late lunch on a Sunday, with wife, son, and daughter-inn-law, the latter two are regulars, known well to the staff. Bab's is in the basement of an old house on Juniper between fifth and sixth, and there is parking, which is free for the clientele. It's "cozy". Started with drinks, of course. All VERY creative. The apperol and grapefruit juice (our guess) was really quite good. My "bloody mary" was made with draft sake and was amazing. On your first trip, ignore the menu and focus on the specials, which change at the whim of Randy, the proprietor. All four meals were quite pleasing, and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating. While my wife and I live too far away to become real regulars, we will certainly find an excuse to go again. Wheel chair accessibility is a little iffy. One way requires getting over some small barriers. The other way requires getting patrons to move for a minute. We managed and were really happy that we did.

Unexpected Treat

By k1986esl |

Our family of four ate brunch here while staying at a nearby hotel. It was rather small and not very well decorated, but the food was surprisingly good. My husband and I had the breakfast special which was an omelet, and it was huge. Our daughters had lunch items and both girls enjoyed them. The waiters were a little quirky, but friendly. There was a patio area that might have been more attractive to me in cooler weather. As for price, it was reasonable. I would like to eat here again and try lunch!

Never Again……No

By M J |

This was the absolute worst breakfast I’ve ever had, the food was terrible and we were charged 46.00 for two people. All the food was premade, Turkey sausages were tough and overcooked, coffee was cold, the eggs were bland and dry. The worst part is we ordered pancakes and they were cold, and appeared to be from a precooked already made pancakes you get at the grocery store in a bag. Rip off, and you have to pay for parking. I would never eat there again. Customer service was poor and the person working the register was borderline rude. There is no ambience at the restaurant and the dining area is small and cramped they have maybe 5 tables. Inside was very lacking in deco and look nothing like the pictures. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible.

A Must Try!

By Reviewer732 |

Babs is a quaint little breakfast/brunch place right along midtown. It's basically inside a house that's divided into smaller sections. Each section is its own establishment. The place is really small, so it's hard to eat as a big group especially when there is already plenty of people inside. Keep that in mind. The fixed menu has some pretty good selection, but don't forget to ask for their daily specials - which aren't in the menu or anywhere else.

Great atmosphere, Good food, service could have been better

By Michelle R |

I was recommended this place by a couple of friends so I took a chance to host one of my events here. I really like the atmosphere. Small and personable. Good size parking lot and parking also available on the street. I recommend making a reservation for larger parties (i had 10) because the dining area is limited. And they take the lasts orders at 2:30pm. I was greeted with a smile by a friendly guy with a nice head of white hair. We were gladly seated even though all of my party had not yet arrived. Our server didn't seem happy to be working at all. She never smiled and wasn't very welcoming/friendly so I asked her was everything ok. She explained that she wasn't having a good day and was cranky, which coming from 13 years in the service industry I totally understand. But you can't let personal feelings effect your job to the point you make others feel unwelcome. So i reassured her that I understood and we were a group of service industry individuals and she seemed to lighten up. The brunch menu changes weekly and is kind of limited but with very good/healthy choices. I had the Greek omelette minus the olives w added roasted tomato and a side of fruit & potatoes which was delish! I think we tried the entire menu between the 10 of us and everyone was happy with their meals. I also tried the Bellini which was a basic Bellini made on the rocks w a couple of frozen peaches. Atlanta has bottomless mimosa/Bellini specials all over the city for an average of $15. A $9 Bellini is definitely over priced. The owner introduced himself (Rob I think)and had a great personality and graciously closed out our tabs individually for us. I don't think an auto gratuity for larger party was added. I will definitely give Babs another try since its in the neighborhood and they like to switch up the menu.

Quriky Hidden Gem

By ttbryan1 |

I found this place on Yelp and decided to try it out for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived and had to wait maybe 10 minutes, which wasn't bad. It definitely has a more young, hipster type feel about it and is very casual and comfortable. For lunch, I had the MacBeath special which was great and filling. My friend had another special that consisted of a white egg omelet with potatoes, which was excellent, as well. They do have their own parking lot right beside the restaurant, which is convenient. I would recommend this place for a casual breakfast or brunch for a very small group.
