Try everything on the menu. You cannot go wrong. The only negative about this place it can get way too noisy but the food is worth it.

I’ve been coming to Bacari since I was in college and it’s still fantastic. Bacari is an excellent spot for a casual date or brunch with friends. The portions are small but shareable and reasonably priced. I have yet to eat something that hasn’t made me think about immediately ordering another plate. The ambience reminds me of a vibrant Italian cafe during brunch or dinner. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about wine, and thoughtful about dietary restrictions. They also have plenty of vegan and vegetarian options that are carefully marked, as well as fantastic happy hour prices.

Stopped in on a whim and was not disappointed. Great wine at reasonable prices and great service. Must try bone marrow if u like it. Lobster roll was yummy and we had the best pizza - smoked mushroom with béchamel sauce ohhhh boy!!! The have specials on certain times and days ie pay one pricers etc. Tip: place is super small - we were lucky to get in because it was early but the place was packed fast!!!

Went there with a groupon. Loved the amazing small plates. Nice view, and hopping bar scene. Street parking available if the tiny lot is full.

Bacari's menu is awesome! They do a phenomenal job of creating very lengthy menu full of unique dishes that you would rarely find at other restaurants. They are all small plates and perfect for sharing. I've been here several times either as a group of 4 or 2- both are ideal for the sharing aspect, but also because space is limited there and it's not ideal for large groups. My favorite dishes on this current summer/early fall menu are: the glazed pork belly (melt in your mouth delicious), buratta and artichokes, warmed goat cheese and cranberry compote, white pizza (with bacon- yum!), and the grilled hanger steak with a buerre blanc sauce- so simple yet so flavorful. We also love their sangria (go ahead and get the pitcher- you'll definitely want more) and their whole wine list because it's quite extensive and from a variety of regions. Bacari PDR is ideal for a girls' night or a date night, but not for a quiet, intimate date night since it's always quite loud. It's a fun scene without being scene-y and it's usually mainly locals.

the concept here was different from what I am used to. Wasnt so bad though.Food was good but I like larger portions. I forgot I was in california and prices for drinks were a little steep. Wait staff was prompt and helpful. I didnt see it on the menu but they charged 20 percent for tips for large parties, I would have prefered 18 percent. What really bothered me was the optional service fee supposedly for the cooks. Let the owners pay them thats why they charge for the food and drinks.. i dont know if they even get it. I think its a new way to get more money from the customers. Its embarrassing to have to ask for it to be deleted . Im a working man also and I dont look for handouts.

Bacari PDR has the perfect combination of food, service and value. Excellent small plates, eclectic wine list, great value and a staff happy to serve. The menu is varied with too many good dishes to describe all. It is best to go with 4 people to taste more of the menu. To name a few, Chef's salmon, yummy. Pan seared polenta with eggplant salad, Noa's cauliflower with smoked chipotle, Throw calories out the window with the Bacaro fries seasoned with roasted garlic, lemon and smoked pepper sauce and even top it off with a fried egg! We have eaten there many times and thank you Bacari for getting it right in Playa del Rey!

Last October, my cousin brought my boyfriend and I here for brunch. Since then, we both had a craving for Bacari and I even had dreams about it (it's that good)! My boyfriend and I were just visiting California again and although we were over a half an hour away, we had to come back to Bacari! The brunch food is sooooo good! We ordered several items to share (it's the way to go!) and loved every bite just as much as we did the first time! Really, everything is delicious! Our favorites are definitely the fries smothered with amazing sauce and a fried egg, and the burger (add the egg of course). Everything else is amazing too- the French toast, potato hash, egg pizza... the list could go on and on! The staff is friendly, the building is adorable, the location is just a couple minutes from the beach! This is a great place to visit and I will recommend it to everyone!!! I already can't wait to go back again!

My daughter and I were staying at a local B&B and stumbled upon this fun & lively restaurant. We had a table on the outside perimeter so it was nice and light. The "little plates" we ordered were all delicious (loved the scallops--yum yum). Interesting cocktails, great music, and friendly staff (Josh, our server, was really nice and helpful) as well. We were happy our hotel suggested this place---it hit the spot!

You can either eat under their big tent or inside for people watching. We sat inside (which is open and almost outside) and because of our Fantastic Waiter- Kevin we had a great time. It was like being served by your best friend. He made a great difference in us deciding to return. The food was also Outstanding and wonderful. They were out of the Sea Bass so I had the Shrimp which was excellent, my wife had the Pizza and she said it was the very best ever. She even said the red wine was the best. For Dessert ( I don't eat sugar) she had a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and she gave it a ten. Understand, these are Tapas, small servings.

Discovered this spot on Travelzoo and went yesterday for brunch. Hubby and I loved everything about this place EXCEPT for the parking lot which was laughable - I cant even describe it you just have to see it for yourself... Now the food, we had 4 plates between us and all were fantastic; first we had the crab cake benedict which was perfectly crispy with a delish hollandaise, only thing missing was the English muffin which is standard in a benedict. Next was the snapper ceviche on a baguette, so buttery, yum. Next the goat cheese polenta with lamb ragu, after tasting it I didn't want to share :) Last we had the French toast - O.M.G.! It was brioche but had the consistency of a bead pudding and flavor of crème brulee. We also had the bottomless which, much unlike other spots, had multiple options aside from the standard mimosa. I started with the sparkling sangria which was really good but was missing the fruit, no big. Then I switched to the greyhound - fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and vodka. Hubby had "one of the top 3 bloody Mary's he's ever had", mind you, he has had Mary's all over he world so that is saying something. We will bring a group next time, but we are definitely going back. Almost forgot, the service was FANTASTIC, just wish I could remember our servers name...

We can start with the food because that is the main thing. The menu has a lot of good choices and we picked three warm and cold dishes. Well made dishes with normal Europe size. All choices was perfect to share for two persons. The only negative I can give the restaurant is the sound level. Thanks for a great night!

After the beach, Happy Hour called. We stopped in this incredibly cute spot in PDR. 5-7 p.m., many cocktails, beer and wine were discounted, also many of their cicchetti plates (Venetian tapas). Good beers on tap. The small plates were so creative and delicious! We liked it so much we asked to thank the chef. Love this place! Bonus...we saw a celebrity!

This is a tiny location, but well worth the squeeze. The menu is intriguing small plates, cold& hot, mostly savory, influenced by Spanish & Moroccan flavors as well as a nice selection of diverse wines and other alcohol to pair with your tastings. The ingredients are fresh and plates come out as ready, not delivering a plate to each person at once to devour. You will fill up quickly; plan to share the plates to try as many different flavors as possible. Lots of fun and a place to go more than once. This is a wedge-shaped small restaurant on a busy corner within a block of the beach, so plan to park & walk. Enjoy being near the beach while you wait to be seated. Many tables have sunset views under the multi-colored wine bottle ceiling. Parking is at a premium and you may have a wait. We were lucky stopping by on impulse on a Thursday eve around 7, didn't have a reservation, but were able to be seated by 7:30. The place was packed and noisy. The noise wasn't off-putting for us --think its fine for a party of 2-4 to converse. The hole-in-the-wall casual feel, packed small tables for small bites, and the waiters provide a nice, hip vibe. The food was a fun discovery of flavors. We had difficulty choosing what to order because so many dishes provided unique, tantalizing combinations of ingredients. Our waiter suggested we pick a couple, then add-on as our appetites were satisfied; this turned out to be wise. Plan on 2-3 plates per person. We had (1) Burrata di gioia - Fabulous! [calabrese-marinated baby artichoke& warm cheese with grilled sourdough bread]; (2) Grilled Chicken Breast - Yum! [breast over grilled Parmesan risotto cake with lemon jalapeno caper sauce -- a good-size portion]; (3) Seared Scallops -- sweet yet briney [4 scallops floated on a cloud of carrot puree with melted leeks, crispy capers &truffle oil]; (4) Lamb Stuffed Eggplant - Very good but would like more lemon & add fresh mint [ground lamb atop a larges slice of eggplant drizzled with lemon-garlic emulsion & topped with scallions & lemon chip]; (5) Gorgonzola Pasta - the pistachios are a wonderful change from almonds while the calabrese pepper provides a kick [handmade tripolne tossed in a gorgonzola sauce with zucchini slivers crushed pistachios]; and (6) the dessert was a perfect finish & OMG! tasted amazing: Malabi [rosewater custard topped with mounds of toasted fresh coconut, hibiscus flower syrup, and candied pistachios]. This meal was perfectly paired with the Les Jamelles Rose. I suggest you read the seasonally prepared menu ahead of time, as the lighting has a low-tone ambiance and the types is very small and detailed. The plates run between $9-$13 while the glasses of wine come in 5oz pours $10, 8oz pours $15 as well as full bottles. Desserts are mostly $5. BTW, no one rushed us through our meal even tho the place remained packed throughout our stay. So pleasant & fun. I would definitely reorder the burrate, chicken and that marvelous Malabi dessert over & over, but there are so many things that I'd like to try such as Tal's tower - a shrimp dish; Wild mushroom polenta; Bacon-wrapped Parmigiano-reggiano stuffed Medjool dates;grilled Fall veggie salad with shrimp, mushroom, broccolini & lemon tzatziki;and oh so much more including the selection of wines. Then, there's the Saturday & Sunday brunch to challenge my tastebuds plus evening happy hour specials and a once-a-month steak & fries all-you can eat. If I get that far, the menu will change for the next season with new discoveries. So prepare to enjoy a little salt-air breeze, stroll this tiny beach town and enjoy a little taste of many flavors. We sure did.

Our favorite small plate/tapas happy hour haunt! Small sophisticated plates with many layers of flavor to share for even smaller prices. But huge on variety, stylish drinks, friendly servers, and people watching if you sit on their small patio. Close to the beach and offering half price beer and wine on Mondays. What more could you want!

Menu was very different and very good. Priced very reasonably. Bruschetta was excellent...pizza was really good...cookie dough dessert was outstanding. Best thing was the sangria...better order a pitcher. Service was also terrific. Go a little early...6ish...so you don't have to wait.

We had to wait for a table on a busy Friday night, but it was well worth the wait. We enjoyed a nice variety of small plates, ranging from oyster shooters to artisan pizzas. It was much more fun that ordering a traditional entree with sides. They gave us the opportunity to taste several wines before choosing a red which was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. Our server forgot to charge us for the bottle of wine but my husband pointed it out and the bill was corrected. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant but you can also find a spot on the winding street up the hill. Another plus for this eatery is that it is a block away from the beach so it's nice to go for a romantic stroll after your meal. We look forward to going back to Bacari soon!

This place was recommended by friends and were they right, the food here is delicious. The four dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Best mac n cheese ever!! Bone marrow sounds gross, but it was soooo good! Pork belly skewers and shrimp tower. All unique meals on a very unique menu. They have an ordering system with small plates for two, but the prices are so reasonable. Have to go back to try more items on that fantastic menu - including dessert. Parking is an issue, but not if you park next door at Outlaws.

Returned again to this small surprise restaurant; this time for a 4th celebration and perch to see the fireworks while enjoying many small plates and wine. Had fab service; made reservation; couldn't have been nicer about everything. Best dishes this time: Grilled Spring Vegetable Salad (with Poached Shrimp); Ricotta & Beet Gnocchi (really filled Gnudi because of their size; think the beet is a slight hint -- not over-powering); Lamb Stuffed Eggplant; Seared Petit Filet (cooked to perfection); Tal's Tower (Whole Shrimp stuffed into Mushrooms skewered atop a Grilled Baguette with an amazing Green Garlic Oil); a bottle of wonderful Los Morros Pinot Noir wine; and, of course, fabulous Malabi for dessert ( a unique Mediterranean-style Blancmange). I highly recommend all of this; figure 2-3 plates per person & share. The one dish that wasn't for my palate was the Burrata di Gioia and I just wouldn't reorder. The burrata and toast were good, but the artichokes were marinated in an oil that was too spicy, overpowering all other flavors in the dish. It just lacks good balance. Having said this, we had a great time and the restaurant became a joint celebration as the beach fireworks began. A fabulous choice for a fun July 4th evening.

It's not a place you would find on tripadvisor and go to. But we are staying in the area and I have to say it was quite nice. I got a cocktail with real strawberries in it and it was yummy. Spicy pizza with goats cheese, beet salad and cauliflower... All yummm! Crowded and noisy near the bar so we sat on the patio and it was quieter. I loved the atmosphere in this restaurant. The service was great, our friends had fun and the alcohol was good. What more can one ask for? There is parking near the place and lots of residential places near by for you to park at:)

Small plates with lots of variety and well priced. When we stopped by to check out the place, we received a 15% off coupon which we used the next day. Really a fun place.

I went here as part of the DineLA promotion, which to me is a great way of discovering new restaurants when I am new in the area. For $40 you got your choice of 2 cheese/salami, 2 hot dishes and 1 dessert, as well as 90 minutes of open bar fro 90 minutes, with beer, champagne, house wine and sangria. We were three people so we were able to order a big variety of their choices and share them a bit (well they are small tapas style portions to begin with, so by sharing I mean just tasting). All the food was really good. The selection of cheeses was nice and that one would be my only "complaint" of a too small portion because after missing european cheeses for a while, I would have loved to have some more of that!! The crispy polenta with eggplant caviar was really good, as well as the crab crostini, fish and chicken. I was still a bit hungry afterwards (or maybe it was the open bar:) so we ordered 3 more things off the regular menu, pork belly, shrimp and mushrooms, and marinated cabecou, all really good (although I didn't taste that the cheese was marinated? All in all, a very fun place to go with some friends for some small plates (3 for $21) and open bar (90 minutes for $25) near the beach. I would not hesitate to go back!

A Groupon deal led my wife and I to this blink and you might miss it corner restaurant; the food was really good, especially the beet salad and the eggplant. The chicken was outstanding, but I'd pass next time on the plank stake . The service was attentive and the noise level was moderate. Parking is a problem unless you come early. Also, a word to the wise: Do Not Order all your small plates at once...or you will be done in 20 minutes.Overall a delightful experience.

There are so many restaurants to choose from in the Playa Del Rey area. Bacari PDR is where we chose to dine for brunch one weekend. Found street parking and strolled on in. Restaurant is small. Fortunately, my sister made reservations for our party of 7 so the table was waiting for us in the back. The food portions were small like tapas style. We all shared numerous dishes. Nothing stood out to me as being awesome. Everything did taste pretty good though. With all the dining options in the area, it will probably be awhile before we return.

My wife and I finished our progressive dinner on Culver at Bacari PDR with drinks and a second dessert. The lively place was busy, but not full when we stopped by on a Saturday night, and we ordered drinks (their Manhattan and a fizz, I think, both good) while we looked at the dessert menu...and quickly found our decision as to what to have made for us. Because when you have a dish called "the best cake you've ever had" on the menu, you've got to try it at least once to see if they're telling you the truth. And for the most part, they were. It's good. Really good. Maybe not the best cake *for us*, but still damn good. What make it so good? Well, just look at these ingredients; medjool dates, brown sugar caramel, and crispy bacon. All of that on and in a cake, topped with a dollop of ice cream. Easily one of the most interesting desserts I've ever had, and one that you should definitely order in a group so you can see for yourself if it's the best cake you've ever had.

I called on a Saturday to make a reservation for 4 for the next day, left my name, call-back number and the time I wanted. By Sunday evening, no call-back, but we went anyway and received the de rigeur ‘do you have a reservation?’ at the front door. They had a table available in the very small dining room and we were seated. What gives with a restaurant that they fail to return a reservation call? We could have gone elsewhere and they would have lost a lot of money…and customers. Our next first impression was the size of the room, very small, claustrophobic and LOUD. This is not the place for a romantic date. The loud conversation from all tables bounced everywhere, emphasized especially by one screeching female who never let up the entire time. We ordered a pitcher of Sangria, a good choice for our table, only 2 ½ of whom were drinking. It was tasty, but not very fruity at all. Maybe they could have thrown in a few pieces of orange and apple to make it appear to have some fruit in it. This is a wine bar, so there is an emphasis on wines. Those by the glass seemed a bit pricy at about $12 average for just a 5 oz glass. Larger pours go up in price exponentially. Since the place only makes small plates, our pleasant server suggested at least 2 plates for each person, so we ended up selecting 8 dishes which we all shared. Service throughout the meal was excellent, with empty plates removed quickly and discretely. Everything was very well made and we really enjoyed trying the various plates. Standouts were the Mac & Cheese with bacon, made with a combination of about 5 cheeses and totally awesome; Chef’s Salmon, moist and fresh and big enough for 4 to have a nice big sample; Pork Belly Skewers, tender and flavorful, a true favorite; Bacon & Brie Pizza with jalapenos, thin crust, very spicy and very good; Bacari fries with a mystery very light oily “sauce” on the fries and a nice sunny side up egg on top. The fries were terrific and the sauce made them particularly good. As we were leaving, we noticed the Hangar Steak at another table, a large portion and it looked delicious. We all agreed that the food was a total surprise. It was that good. I can only review Bacari at an average of 4 because of the frustration with getting a reservation and the constant din the entire meal (since it’s such a small space, maybe they could consider noise absorbing material to lower the volume). I would definitely not come here when a game is on, as I suspect I’d lose a bit of my hearing!

It's funky, it's hard to find, parking can be difficult and it can get noisy, but If you want something really different this is definitely the place to go. There were four of us, I think we ordered almost everything on the menu. Everything was surprisingly delicious. and the waitstaff was great. We will definitely be back!!!

My husband and I had dinner at Bacari PDR on a Friday evening. Reservations are essential as this is a small local spot. We saw several couples get turned away without a reservation. The menu consists of three types of tapas: meats and cheese, cold tapas, and hot tapas, including flatbread pizzas. My husband and I tried five tapas: pork belly (his favorite), bone marrow with a couple of small crostini, Tal's Tower (shrimp and mushroom skewers in a buttery wine sauce served on two small 2" baguettes) - my favorite, lamb stuffed eggplant, and lamb burger(a small open faced lamb patty on ciabatta or some crusty bread). The portions are on the small side despite what others have said. The restaurant is kind of divided into two areas: a bar with some low tables which is very, very loud, and an outdoor patio with bar table seating. The tapas are priced about $8-9/each and are slightly discounted if you buy three. Overall, this was a fun, somewhat casual local spot with good quality and inventive food. We will stop by again.

While staying nearby for a few days we were looking for an interesting place for dinner and our hotel concierge recommended Bacari. We looked at the menu and decided we definitely needed to go! I called prior to going to determine if I could drive and park nearby or if I should use ride share and the lady I spoke with told me I could drive because they have $10 valet, so I drove. To my astonishment, when we arrived there was no valet on weeknights – I was VERY UPSET!!! I now had to find parking, which was non-existent, so I took a chance and parked in a nearby residential area hoping I wouldn’t get towed and fortunately, that worked out for me. All that aside…. The staff here was very helpful and friendly… Our server was decent, but not very attentive, he seemed to be gone for a bit, but there was another server, a tall black guy, who was AMAZING! He was attentive to our table, even though he wasn’t our server, we even placed an order for one of our courses with him. As for the food… Their menu is very interesting and somewhat unique… a nice mixture of culinary delights, seems to center around Mediterranean, which we love. We started with their Tuscan Kale Salad which was fresh and amazing! We also tried their pilpelchuma shrimp, charred broccoli, sea bass, and then their shawarma tacos and they were all outstanding! The pilpelchuma shrimp being our absolute fav!!! The flavors and spice level was interesting and so very good! The venue is acceptable… It’s a tent outside, in a parking lot or maybe a field next to the restaurant. Not that great of a décor though. But the food was pretty darn good!

Bacari is on a small rise just off of the Pacific in Playa del Rey. It has indoor and enclosed veranda seating and offers a nice variety of food depending on the time of day you are there. The indoor dining area offers views over the beach and the ocean. It is worth a try if you are in the area.

We had my son's graduation dinner here with family and a couple friends. I had booked the table a couple months in advance and picked out 8 dishes that I knew everyone would like. When it came time for the dinner, the table was set up beautifully with custom menus that had "Congrats (my sons name)!" on them, along with the list of entrees. They were served family style and there was SO much food. It was delicious and everyone loved it. We brought a cake, and they cut and served it for us as well. It was all really affordable (I had everyone order drinks that they wanted, but I also ordered a couple pitchers of Sangria for the table) and I would definitely use them again for a small event in a heartbeat!

This place has great small plates and a fantastic selection of wine! We usually visit when we are traveling for business and are staying close to the airport. We've always had great variety in our plates and good wine recommendations. It's a great, small little place that can sometimes be busy, but the wait usually goes by pretty quickly, or you can just walk down to the beach if the wait is longer! :)

Playa Del Rey is really coming on strong. It is very much a beach town, but with the influx of forward thinking companies and the staff they bring with them just down the road in Playa Vista, the culinary scene by the beach in Playa Del Rey is reaping rewards. Bacari is a fun/hip place great for couples or small groups of friends. The place is not big, at all. The food is tapas inspired and has a lot of rich favors. It's warmly noisy, wouldn't call it loud. Staff is very friendly.

This place is pretty cool, it's very causal, and usually packed wiTh people having a great time eating drinking talking. They do have mixed drinks and beer as well even though advertised as a wine bar. Lots of small plates to choose from on the menu which makes it great to drink and eat and sample lots of different flavors. The fries with somekinda red sauce on it and a fried egg was a big hit. The salumi and cheese selection plate also was great. Not so good was the crab crostini (would be better if they had crab cakes) The service excellent, the food pretty darn good, the speed of food coming out of the kitchen excellent. Value good. It's no wonder at all why Bacari PDR was full of happy people.

A client, who lives in the area, recommended this place and it did not disappoint. There were six of us, so we ordered almost all the tapas on the menu and they were all very, very good. Among our favorites were the glazed pork belly, the mac and cheese with bacon, the salted cod cakes, the lamb eggplant, the cauliflower and the burger with fried egg, all delicious. This style of eating is so much fun as you get to try a variety of things and the whole dining experience becomes more communal and interactive.

bring your earplugs and a broom and mr. clean, as the place is maintained like a cesspool. the service is slow but within the "ok" range. food was actually better then adverage, but I'll never return due to the utter filth.

Flying out of LA Early morning and sick of Hotel food by airport. Bacari Playa del Ray is where you want to go. Do not let exterior fool you. Great local atmosphere.. A little bohemian. Tapas Style. Arrived just before 6 pm and so most (all?) plates were $6.00. Chiplotle Cauliflower, Pork Belly Skewers, Flat Iron Steak and Bone Marrow were favorites of the table but everything was delicious. Crazy Good. Parking can be tricky but it is a really short cab ride from airport hotels. There is absolutely no doubt I will be back next time thru LA.

What a great surprise. went for a walk to the beach and on our way back stopped in. the tapas are delightful and staff was fun and on the ball. couldn't have asked for a better way to end my trip. will be back.

Had dinner here last night. The owner clearly is in major violation of the city and county Covid social distancing rules. We had 3 tables within 18 inches of us and the restaurant was at 100% capacity. Talked to the manager and he had no rational explanation for why it was set up that way. Will never be back.

I live in Playa Vista and am thrilled to have a new favorite neighborhood happy hour spot. The staff is so warm and welcoming and the place has an upbeat vibe. My friends and I love the happy hour...small plates with enough to share and large variety of things to try. Everything is delicious! Prices are excellent...on Monday, all wine is half price during happy hour. Try the Sangria which is half price every day at happy hour. On a recent visit my friend and I had a large carafe of Sangria and 3 small plates (which filled us up) and the bill was $30! The place is so close to the beach you could do a beach walk first or go watch the sunset after. You won't be disappointed!

The website stated that there’s no need to book for a reservation. We came around 17:30 and were told that we can be seated but we have to leave by 19:00 since we didn’t have a reservation. This already gave us a negative impression . The waiter that served us ( we forgot his name), changed the tone for us. He is very friendly, patient, fast and efficient. It was happy hour until 19:00 and we ended up having a lot of appetizers. Their pizzas (peach/guava and the smoked mushroom) are one of a kind. We also had the scallops, grilled pork, Brussel sprouts, shrimp esciviche and chipotle chicken wings. The location can be easily missed, but once you find parking, the food is well worth it. I would suggest a reservation since the moment we sat down, the restaurant starts to fill up in a matter of 10 minutes.

This is a little hideaway place in Playa del Rey. Small portions are served encouraging guests to share. They extensive wine by the glass list. Some can get pricey, better check the price before ordering. I got stuck with the bill for $18- glass of Spanish wine. Food is pretty good. Seat on the terrace as the inside is small and congested.

Came here by chance. Didn't even spot this place, though been here a while. Food was small plates. Generally very tasty but whilst clearly a lot of effort had ben put in to each dish, they didn't really blow me away, especially given the prices. However; all in all it was a very pleasant experience and the staff were very helpful. Good setting too and the outdoorish bit is also nice. Recommended. Will return.

The restaurant is a creative outdoor space. Nestled on a busy street, you glance up and can see the beautiful pacific ocean. When you see the menu, you have creative choices that support every palate. We had roasted cauliflower. It was served on a bed a lettuce with a sauce that had a nice kick to it. We had stuffed mushrooms. They had a nice basil sauce on top. We had Sea bass (delicious!!!) and fish tacos (3 served in taco holders, nice) as main dishes. The drinks were perfect too. I had the Bacari (I think it was called), light, smooth. Oh and we had a pear pizza to go! It is a great environment if you like talking and urban white noise. Which I do!!! There is an inside area, it may be more romantic. There were people with children but for me it is more for adults. This is a culinary place, do not be surprised. The portions are beautifully plated. If you are hungry you will need to add appetizers, salads, or desserts! but just ask about them, the servers are knowledgeable. Caution: Parking is adjacent on a steep hilly street, so drop off and walk back. Beautiful views though on your way down.

We came here for a Mother's Day Brunch. The small plate menu and the fact that there were nine of us helped us enjoy the wide variety of offerings. A helpful and friendly staff that seemed to have as much fun as us. The food was all good. Out two favorites were the croque madame and the chipotle chicken wings (spicy hot!). The ceiling indicates how much their clients enjoy this restaurant.

Bacari PDR is great for brunch on a sunny day in Playa del Rey. I love the Warm Kale Salad with sautéed lardons, hot bacon vinaigrette, and sous vide egg. It's the perfect hearty breakfast salad. Other great dishes include their Bacaro Burger (add the egg) and the French Toast. Plus, with the windows up, great cocktails, and the ocean breeze, you can't find a better place to start your day.

I love this little gem. Nestled in Playa del Rey, it is a small, quaint little spot with delicious little tapas dishes! The last couple times I've been, it has been a little noisy, but it is great for a girls night out. My favorites are the cauliflower, baccala cod, Caprese, beet salad, lamb burger, salmon bruschetta....the list goes on. Nice variety. They have a great selection of wine and fun drinks, but the one very sad thing is they took away wine Monday specials (used to be 2 for 1 glasses and bottles). Brunch is also great!

Cozy bar with a laid back beach town feel! They rotate their wine and beer menu in addition to innovative cocktails. We have mostly had appetizers and desserts here. Tough to get a table Friday onwards into the weekend. So would be good to call and reserve.

I came here with friends for brunch. We did not have a reservation, so we sat at the bar. The bartender makes a mean bloody mary. The menu is chock full of small plate options: we ordered several to share. EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS AWESOME. Interesting flavor combinations, appropriate portions. Our favorites were the goat cheese polenta, the brussels sprouts, the croque madame. We had the french toast for dessert. Don't miss it - it has the texture of a bread pudding and is delicious. Make a reservation or be prepared to wait for a table or spot at the bar. You won't be disappointed!

The food was good and tasted fine but after returning home I was quite ill. I did not eat anything after my late lunch at the restaurant so it was definitely one of the dishes I had.

The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because of the noise level. Definitely not the restaurant's fault: all the patrons on a Friday night were rowdy and annoyingly loud, it actually hurt my ears (some people have no class and no respect for other customers; they think their conversations are so interesting they need to be broadcast on loud speaker for everyone to hear). The ambience is casual but intimate, resembling a European gastro pub. The service is nice and not LA pretentious. The food is just spectacular: small portions, just right, deep fresh flavors, authentic imports.

Locals made reservations for us on a Sat, night. We all arrived and were seated on time. Great start! Our server Erin E. did a fantastic job with recommendations of small plates and drinks that paired with our food. Highlights of different foods that we LOVED were bacon wrapped dates, oven roasted brussel sprouts and cabecou. Cabecou is a soft goat cheese that comes from the Midi-Pyrénées region of southern France. Amazing! We can't wait to return. Table space is tight and reservation are highly recommended.

We picked up our son at LAX at 5PM on a Wednesday night. Had 3 hour drive north to home in good traffic, but at that time, the traffic is terible. Wanted to avoid the crazy rush hour traffic, so we Yelped for restaurants not far from LAX. Good old Yelp came through for us again. This cozy, funky little restaurant is just 5 miles from the airport. They serve delicious little tapas type plates for $6 each during their 5-7PM happy hour. Everything we had was excellent: Pork belly, beef, clams, cauliflower, lamb stuffed egg plant. Good Sangria for $10 a liter (for those not driving). We got back on the freeway about 7 PM, tummies full and ready for our drive. Only negative was signage. We drove by it the first time and had a 4 mile detour to get back.

The food here is wonderful. Great small plates. Each one we tried was favorable and well prepared. Great wine choices too. Our only complaint is the amount of wine poured as a glass, a bit skimpy on the pours. Better off to order a bottle and pour your own.

I had a long layover at LAX, so a local LA friend picked me up and we headed here for brunch. We did drive past it the first time, but so glad when we found it. It was the first time I have eaten at a tapas restaurant and it was so wonderful to choose several small dishes. Service was excellent and the food was fabulous! The warm kale salad was so delicious, we almost ordered another one! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.

Great selection of all unique Gourmet combinations available in hot or cold. It is kind of small so you have to have reservations or get there during an off-hour to find a seat. Everything they make is delicious, hands down.

We were here for brunch and ordered a large selection of small plates. Everything was delicious! We are hearty eaters and were very pleased with the diverse offerings: burger, fries, ceviche, lettuce wraps, chiliquias, egg pizza, fabulous French toast, and a few other dishes. And delicious drinks. Our waitress was great and other staff very friendly! A great dining experience on our visit to LA, highly recommend!
Excellent
Service was friendly & prompt! Food lovely & made a change from the usual huge portions you have in America. The house red wine was wonderful.
