Very Disappointed

By O9830OTbarbarad |

I honestly am perplexed as to all the great reviews of this Silverlake restaurant. I ate with a group of 3 friends and we all concluded the same that we would not be returning for many reasons being: TOO SALTY- you cannot taste the food- just SALT. Greasy- slimy presentation. dark as heck- you cannot read the menu- you need a FLASHLIGHT- I don't even think that there is an actual ceiling in the restaurant- very drafty and just wonder what occurs when it rains!! I rarely eat out so was very disappointed.

I don’t think so

By 4Uyes |

We visited for Mother’s Day based on the recommendations we received (lunch) Honestly disappointed in our experience. The service was a bit slow and quite honestly we were not overly impressed with the food. We ordered and shared a few plates: Avocado Toast - because so much was piled on, the toast was quite soggy and the flavors didn’t come thru. Chilaquiles - the flavor of the sauce was excellent but once again it caused the chips to be soggy within a couple minutes. Brussels Sprouts - good, a very big serving. Perhaps can be caramelized a bit longer. Burger - good The best part of our meal was the Watermelon Mezcal Spicy cocktail and the dessert (Best cake you ever had). Both were fabulous! Honestly, for $175 there are many other restaurants we would prefer.

Cutest place

Where do i begin for this amazing place? Everything here is great, the place is beautiful and it’s such a great feel. Was visiting the area and a friend brought me here and literally was one of my favorite places. The food was flavorful and the service was good too. A must try!

Amazing Atmosphere!

By Suki Thind |

Incredible atmosphere & delectable food! I had the Lamb Hummus & Grilled Pita. The minced lamb was sooooo good. The service was attentive and you can get help from any of the staff. We walked in on a Friday night and were delighted to find out that the wait was only about 20 minutes. You really can't match the ambiance as it has a tree-flowing vibe to it with candlelight aura all throughout. I loved how they had lanterns on the steps for lighting. I'll definitely be back!

Great Tapas and Service

By Jonathan R |

My daughter and son-in-law took me and other family to Bocari Silverlake for my birthday. Our server and his colleagues took excellent care of us, with multiple tapas orders quickly delivered. All of our tapas choices - Mac and Cheese, Lamb Hummus, Pipilchuma Shrimp, to name a few — were excellent.

a magical evening

By Joshua99California |

My recent meal at Bacari Silverlake was an absolute trifecta: great food, fantastic service, and a spectacular atmosphere. It was, frankly, a magical evening. We asked our server, Michael, for guidance navigating the menu, and he was spot on. His profound knowledge of the menu was impressive, but what stood out was how carefully he listened to our preferences. His recommendations? Perfect. Do not miss the "little gem salad." It's easily the most creative version I've ever had. The "fig vinaigrette, red onion, chickpea & olive crunch, candied pistachio, mission fig, and parmesan" make it my new favorite salad in LA! The "sea bass" was pan-seared to perfection alongside charred shishito peppers, and just thinking about it makes me hungry again. We also had the "chicken sliders" — a popular dish in LA, but Bacari's version was something special. Add to that the "stuffed mushrooms" and the "petit filet," both equally scrumptious. And don't leave without trying "the best cake," a rich blend of medjool dates, brown sugar caramel, crispy bacon, and ice cream. Even if this meal were served in a dingy basement, it would still be five stars. But to enjoy it in the beautifully lit outdoor space, with an enormous tree weaving through the dining area, made it extraordinary.

Sharing Food and Leaving Satisfied

By madcheddar |

Bacari's amazing flavors and generous portions completely changed my opinion of sharable-style dining. My wife and I have typically not enjoyed "tapas joints"; they can be expensive and sometimes only half the menu is actually palatable to the group. Definitely not the case at Bacari. Not only is Bacari's ambiance and aesthetic appealing and relaxing, the food is outstanding, a perfect complement to the setting. We tried many items on the menu, but the salatim (vegan) and the Little Gem salad really stood out. Each of the spreads that came with the salatim were amazing (the cashew was my personal favorite). The service and drinks were also super. I would consider going there for just for drinks after work, or even a brunch with friends, as well as dinner. Brunch would be tough because I'd be sleeping it off all afternoon. I honestly can't think of a single criticism. We will definitely hit up a Bacari again when back in LA.

Delicious food in Silver Lake.

I've been wanting to come here for a while and I am so happy I finally came. Reservations are highly recommended especially if you have a big group and you'll want to sit outside so it's perfect for the warm weather. I came for dinner with my husband and we seven tapas plates and one dessert. I really enjoyed the burrata, sea bass, pork belly, filet, Brussels sprouts and stuffed mushrooms. I got the Shawarma tacos which I would pass on the next visit. It was the last dish that we had, but it was lacking a sauce. So we might've gotten one too many dishes. I came for my birthday so I got a glass of prosecco and a candle with the banana bread. The banana bread was okay, more on the mushy side. Service was awesome! Kevin was so attentive to us and helped us when we had questions. You are in the middle of Silver Lake (yes, it is two words despite it being one for Bacari), so parking is a pain. You will need to valet your car unless you get lucky.

Good Food. Abysmal Drinks

By John P |

Overall lovely setting and ambience. Food was quite good and the plates came out at an even pace. Our server was very accommodating. But sorry to say I must make one complaint. The bar staff (at least those on the night we were there) could benefit from a refresher coarse in mixology! A very simple gin and tonic came with club soda instead of tonic and was pink! Not sure what that was all about. The waiter said he clearly ordered tonic. Another came with flat tonic. Another in our party ordered a vodka martini which came in the smallest martini glass we have ever seen. It was laughable. When they ordered a second one, it came in a larger glass but when poured into the smaller empty glass, the contents were even less! The server was even embarrassed and took it off our bill. Lesson learned: stick with wine in this establishment!

Great date spot in Silver Lake

Everything we ate was amazing. A lot of small plates great for sharing and all delicious. Fantastic service, fun vibe, and great cocktails! Can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic Experience

By pkpdbacation |

While visiting our daughter in Los Angeles we went to one of her favorite restaurants. Wow, really fun experience, beautiful seating (outside covered) and amazing food. Some of the most unique flavors we have had and all very tasty. All were great. We had the fries, tacos, chicken sliders, Brussels Sprouts, macaroni and cheese and pizza. The macaroni and cheese was short list of best ever. My wife told our daughter this will be a stop each time we are in LA. Very cool vibe and awesome restaurant. Great, friendly service too.

Great food, great surroundings

Not a bad dish among the 8 small plates we ordered, with several of them being outstanding. Fantastic setting, love the bamboo surroundings. Very attentive and informative wait staff.

Energetic & Delicious

By Thomas T |

The restaurant has a great and inviting layout. There is an upbeat energy with very diligent staff. The food was fantastic with very interesting flavor combinations.

Charming ambiance compromised by distracted service

By cityartist |

The location is truly hidden away off Sunset in the silverlake neighborhood. Downstairs has an almost Moroccan courtyard vibe, while the outdoor patio upstairs is a charming treetop sanctuary with its own bar, and a good number of tables. Access is not easy (steep rickety steps), and bathrooms are only downstairs. Food comprised a well prepared and interesting, albeit slightly overpriced, assortment of tapas dishes. No bread or other side items were ever offered, though "extra bread" was featured on the menu. Our waiter was nice enough, but consistently more interested in chatting with his colleagues than attending to guests. I noticed him standing several times with his friends, holding our or other diners' drinks or dishes in his hands, as he gabbed away for lengthy periods. He was very quick to clear away our plates, though. Note the restaurant charges an "optional" service surcharge without explanation, and does not offer the option of removing it.

Sunday Brunch Feasting

By zedpro |

Fantastic LA Sunday brunch vibe with delicious small plates that blend the Mediterranean and Levantine with those classic brunch dishes. You get an inspired menu with something for everyone. Plus as they are small plates then sharing is a must. Alex looked after us with great recommendations. Try the potato bokera and also the lamb hummus. This is one heck of place that I would come back to again and again if I could but sadly London to far away.

Unique experience in LA

Really great flavours, small portions even when shared. Great atmosphere, but was a bit dark. Would recommend as a fun restaurant in LA.

Great vibe!

A unique LA restaurant with amazing flavors. Loved the ambience of the place, the sea bass was delicious! Would definitely recommend.

Hidden gem in LA.

By Dwaffle1145 |

Easter Brunch: First the setting is amazing. You walk indoors from a very unimpressive parking lot into an extensive indoor/outdoor space with large trees and tall bamboo consistent with a rain forest. Second; The staff and service are first rate. Not snobby, just friendly and helpful. Wait time was just right. Third: we are from NY and the menu had a great West Coast twist on traditional brunch items that made it alot more interesting than back East. Good job.

Everything I hoped and more

Breathtaking Eclectic Flavor Fusion

By TravelerSmith |

A Food Heaven atop the trees. The Bacari menu is breathtaking eclectic fusion that delights the imagination and delivers simply mouthwatering flavors. OMG, there are sooooo many good choices, If you are prone to experience decision paralysis, start off with this foursome: * poached shrimp with citrus chili sauce and soy shiitakes, * radish lamb stuffed eggplant with a lemon garlic emulsion (order two), * stuffed mushroom with toasted pecan and basil walnut pesto, * scallops with carrot parsnip puree and melted leek. Oh my!!Want more? (yes you will) ok, let’s go!: * pistachio lamb kebab * and handmade oaxacan cream pasta. Just lovely.

Bacari is the best

Worth it and exce

By Colin F |

Daughter and I came for dinner and both the food and ambience lived up to expectations. The dishes weren’t quite hot when served and the service was a little slow but the were packed. The sirloin is impressive. The house wines could use some review. All in all however, one of the best ever.

Nice restaurant with delicious food.

By Anja Ristorp H |

Very nice restaurant. These are small dishes, so you can try a little of each. It all tasted delicious - I would recommend trying the pizza with brie and pear. We ate 2-3 dishes each. Please sit outdoors in the courtyard, even in winter. There is good heat in the heat lamps and incredibly cozy.

Great Night Out

Cute local bar and tapas place

By Grace Annette C Y |

Saw Bacari Silverlake’a bar scenes and the tapas on-line and wanted to try for a whole. It didn’t disappoint. Services were great. Food was amazing and portion size was small; we ordered about 8 things and everything was perfect for sharing. Tried only the “Bacarita” and oat latte for drinks; both were great. Very nice experience for casual bar and tapas.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD - NO JOKE - FOR REAL! DELICIOUS FOOD , GREAT SERVICE

By Gary F |

This is the most unique and beautiful Restaurant I have ever seen anywhere in the World. There are big trees and Bamboo and words are hard to describle the atmosphere. The Food is outstanding and I guess Bacari means Little Plates in Italian. There were 6 of us and we shared each others plates : Brussel Sprouts, Mushrooms, Salmon, Sea Bass, Bread with Garlic Dip, Chicken sliders, Pizza (not so little). I would give each one of these a 10+. All the employees were nice and helpful. Our waitress, Jillian was absoultely terrific in every way. She was nice, funny, professional and always there for you.
