Honestly, the best bar I’ve experienced in the Portland area. RJ is a wizard. Made up drinks on the spot. Had amazing character. This is a must visit.

RJ is the best bartender in Portland, hands down. This may seem like an unassuming hotel bar, but RJ is a magician. If you tell him what you feel like drinking, he will make you a CREATION that perfectly fits your mood and tastes, and if you’re lucky, you’ll even get a show. Do not sleep on this opportunity!

This place is fantastic! RJ was welcoming, friendly, skilled and creative behind the bar. The atmosphere the evening of my visit was quiet and warm, which lent itself to delightful conversations with new acquaintances. I stayed at the bar, but next time I go (and there WILL be a next time) I intend to explore the lounge area a bit. All in all, Bacchus is a wonderful bar for those seeking delicious cocktails and good company.

Went here for Portland wing week and the Black Gaalac wings. Great atmosphere, great food, and great service from Jono and Bradley!

Let me start with the bartender and Bar back! Brad and Jonno , both were fantastic! Very attentive, knowable and incredible host! More than willing to help, provide recommendations and great with conversation. Food, excellent! My wife had the rosotto and I had the lasagna! Gift that chef a well done! What else can I say! Drinks were fantastic! Please try the Mai tai! This place is a hidden gem in the hotel!! Go see them!! Cheers!!

A large group 30+ of friends recently descended on the Bacchus bar. We attempted to make the bar aware weeks beforehand but that message was not passed to the bar staff. With that amount of people swarming the bar and one bartender Nick and Bryce we amazing and extremely professional. They took great care of our group never looked flustered and put the same level of care into each of our drinks the entire night. Including smoking our Old Fashioned with a torch each time, and they were delicious. Highly recommend stopping by on your next night out.

My husband and I stopped by for a drink last night and ended up spending the evening. RJ, the bartender, was great. They have many I unique cocktails as well as the traditional ones. I recommend trying some of their specialty cocktails.

Excellent drinks! Live music and plenty of seating! Geoffrey makes a top notch Manhattan! Beer on tap and good wine selection, if the Bacchus doesn’t have your request they will walk over to Il Solito to see if they can find your request there. Service was very good!

Husband and I went to the benson to grab a drink. Nope. Packed. Googled alternatives. Stumbled upon this hotel bar instead, and had the best happy hour! RJ at the bar knows his drinks and the cocktails are amazing. The food is perfect sized to share some small bites, will definitely be back, mainly to hear if RJ’s roommate ever got a bigger sized sweatshirt!

I came here to relax after a long weekend and enjoy some cocktails. Rj was the absolute best! He made sure that I had the best time and the most amazing drinks. He balanced handling room service, a full bar and dealing with unsavory customers. He did all of this with a smile on his face and shaking up the best drinks you’ve ever had! Everyone needs to sit at his bar at least once to feel his immense hospitality and talent.

I rolled in on a date after a recommendation from my brother for a drink and snack and had just a wonderful time. The bartender RJ made a great couple drinks and was an absolute blast to have across the bar. I own a wine bar and he introduced a winemaker to me who was staying there and we got along great, got a bottle of wine and a business contact. Thank you RJ, that wouldn’t you made everyone very happy. I’ll be back, 🥂.

We came to the Vintage for a family vacation and happened to go to the downstairs bar to grab drinks on the night we arrived. Jono and RJ were our bartenders that evening and were a splendid pair to converse with! Jono gave me an amazing drink recommendation for an “Orange Dreamsicle” cocktail made by RJ that blew me away. I appreciate their hospitality and the environment was great!!

We were looking for a fun bar decked out for Christmas and this was perfect. Ray welcomed us as we walked in and let us taste the homemade limoncello. Nicholas was charming and delightful telling us stories. We will definitely be back.

Every bartender should be like RJ! He takes the time to know each patron, and to make sure they are well taken care of. He is so patient when it is crowded. He is an amazing mixologist! He makes a happy hour memorable. . .and happy!

We only stopped by for a quick drink, but RJ and Jono were so awesome! They made us tasty drinks based on our outlandish requests. I also loved their Bloom Tour special drink! Definitely recommend if you’re in the area or staying at the hotel!!

The hotel has a great quaint environment. We went to the bar for a drink before dinner and had the pleasure of meeting RJ who made some amazing drinks and even took the time to explain his recipes. Such a great experience we came back after dinner for another round.

My date and I were walking around, roasting, and popped in for a drink and to make a plan. That plan ended up being getting more drinks, food, and hanging out with RJ for a few hours. What a gem! We seriously had a great time and laughed our asses off. This is a lovely spot and we can't wait to be back.

The fancy drinks from Nick with an impressive presentation was entertainment in and of itself. You can order food from il Solito as well. There's shuffle board and pool upstairs. (Bonus) We live here and had to see the cherry blossom trees so we made a staycation out of it then drive home.

Great cocktails! I ordered the Movie Star Martini and the Paloma and both were excellent. The food was also great, but the highlight was definitely the service: shoutout to Bradley, a skilled and extremely charismatic bartender who made the night fly by!

This place is so fun and festive! We had a party here last night with some friends and our bartender RJ was awesome- drinks were creative and tasty, such a good time.

Stayed at Kimpton Vintage PDX for a short one night stay and had delicious drinks at Bacchus Bar. RJ throws a mean mezcal negroni! I also got to try a Fall seasonal cocktail and it was so yummy. Hands down best experience! Make sure to check out Bacchus and have RJ make your drinks!

Wow! Such lovely service, drinks and food. RJ was our bartender and I couldn’t have ask for better service. He was engaging, friendly and polite! Definitely coming back here.

The bar irself was tucked along the north wall of the lobby. It looked like DIY man-cave project you would see in your buddy's garage - cheap black paint slathered over particle board with mirror panels glued everywhere. And the lighting?! White-hot supernova daggers piercing through the otherwise cozy gloom of the lobby. The bartender took my order for a Tanqueray martini with a lemon twist with a dismissive sneer, then asked if I wanted it dirty. Dirty with a twist? How cute. The bartender reflected the bar itself: a facade of edgy, urban grittiness masking belligerent mediocrity.

We a had a fabulous time visiting RJ and the fine folks at Bacchus Bar. Everyone was so nice. The environment was perfect for either a date night or family hang. We had about 20 people visiting for a neighborhood outing, with a number of kids in the mix. All of the employees were welcoming and made us feel at home. What a delightful surprise this spot is! And RJ is a magician behind the bar, turning out one exceptional cocktail after another.

Found my new favorite drink with Nick here at Bacchus. He took into account what my favorite things were and made a creative drink that was to die for. One of the best drinks I’ve ever had!

My wife and I love Bacchus Bar. We make sure to have drinks here whenever we are in Portland and staying at the Kimpton Hotel Vintage. The bartenders are the best and make some amazing drinks. They have a new drink menu which has some tasty drinks. If you are in the area I highly suggest you stop by for a drink. They often have live music as well. Grab a drink and relax in one of the many spots in the hotel lobby.

Massive shoutout to RJ for looking after us all night. A great place to hang at the bar and enjoy some unique drinks. RJ has perfected his cocktails. The espresso martini shot was incredible and the pump up the jam cocktail was amazing. Loved them all.

What a cozy and exciting bar to stop at for a drink! The bartender, RJ, provided exceptional service, beautiful craft cocktails, and great food recommendations. Whether you're ordering off their creative cocktail menu or asking RJ to whip up something special, you won't be disappointed. Make sure to ask about their rotating jello shots - you don't want to miss out, they're the best in town!

High quality cocktails, vibey lounge area, great location for walking around downtown (we stayed at the hotel and would absolutely recommend too!), but more than anything the here bartenders are amazing - personable, funny, knowledgeable, interesting. Bradley was 10/10 - memorable and knowledgeable mixologist, easy conversation and made us feel so welcome. Recommended a great restaurant for us too! Go, even if you aren’t staying at the hotel - the Gorgonzola infused gin and pear riff on a Last Word is worth the flight to Portland.

Bar located in The Vintage Hotel with extraordinary drinks served here. Bartender RJ has created an original house made pear gorgonzola concoction that got my taste buds attention. Many original libations you can't find anywhere else. Of course, there are more intriguing drinks and beers on tap. RJ also made us feel very welcomed and took the time to explain his steps for making these amazing drinks.

Came by the bar before hitting the town but ended up hanging out there most of the night because of the amazing service and experience of the bartender, RJ! I had the excessive hedonism to drink, but all around great drinks and a great time!

RJ and Jono were such wonderful bartenders! I've been here a number of times and it's always outstanding. I had the clarified piña colada this time and wow! My only reservation was that they normally have a mai tai on the menu and it had rotated out for now. I'll be back soon and hopefully it's going to be mai tai o' clock! Tick tock!

Staying at the Vintage and stopped by the Bacchus Bar for a quick nightcap…ended up having a great evening with an awesome mixologist, RJ. Enjoyed a delicious dirty martini, espresso martini, special gin drinks (just ask him to make you something delicious with gin…you won’t be disappointed), and the most delicious Jell-O shots EVER!!

Hiding right in plain sight in the Kimpton Hotel Vintage downtown Portland is one of the most amazing spaces in town. First off, RJ may be the best bartender in town & without a doubt the coolest guy on Broadway. Carlyle was great too - we came in hot with about 20 folks and she didn't bat an eye. There is a great downstairs lounge with live music 3 nights a week, and then there's the loft! Comfy couch and chairs, shuffleboard, pool table, Nintendo gaming system for the youngsters. Just try not to have fun... Already trying to plan our next visit~

Stopped by to meet friends who were staying at the hotel. We all ended up getting a drink before the concert we were going to and RJ made our quick pit stop such a treat! Great way to start the night :)

Left a work dinner around the corner and stumbled upon this little gem. It’s located inside the Kimpton downtown and it was the chill laid back vibe I was looking for. Bryce and RJ know their drinks and will take great care of you. Definitely come check them out if you’re on the area.

Welcoming and homey like banana bread. We were delighted with the service and cheery vibes from RJ and Jono. We were in town for the Blues Fest and spent the weekend at the hotel. These two bartenders were so fun that we came back on the second night. Please go and visit this bar, even if you aren't at the hotel. We'll be back.

Stayed at the kimpton vintage for a business function. The Bacchus bar hosts a spectacular mixologist host in the form of RJ. RJ not only mixed some of the absolutely greatest whiskey sours, old fashioned and other fine concoctions, but his passion for mixology and effervescent personality stepped the experience up numerous notches. Definitely recommend.

The restaurant has classy decor and the staff is extremely personable. I stopped in for a drink after seeing a comedy show not knowing it was a restaurant below a Kinton hotel. The mixologist Colette has a cornucopia of knowledge among spirits and creates an experience. They provide freshly squeezed juices for cocktails among other high-quality ingredients. The experience was beyond amazing and the price wasn't any higher than you'd pay for a lower-quality experience. Thank you for doing what you do Colette and bringing a sense of pride to your craft.

Stop reading reviews, this is all you need to see. I went here on a chance 2 months ago and I have been back 4 times. Gin reference changed my life. The bar service somehow kept track of 20 different requests and didn't skip a beat. The drinks so good I posted on my IG first and only post of it's kind. My anonymous neighbor is screaming for Jonna and RJ as they also changed her life. Don't worry on future travel choices as I have simplified this for you. Stay here and get the drinks of your life.

Great drink choices and tasty food. We had steak frites - the chimichurri sauce was a nice kick and the accompanying fries were delish! $4 jello shots - fun! Jono and Brad were friendly and attentive bartenders - great service. Will definitely come again!

I’ve been here twice and I can only imagine that my third trip will be better than the previous. RJ makes the experience and Jono settles you in comfortably for an evening of drinks and dessert.

Not your average hotel bar - the Bacchus Bar has an excellent selection of spirits, with a carefully curated selection of seasonal house cocktails. RJ, our bartender, was engaging and entertaining, and his cocktails were top-notch. Also, be sure to ask for the espresso martini jello shots - if they have them prepared, they are unparalleled.

Lovely!! We happened in to Bacchus late on Thursday night because this was the only bar open near our hotel! We were greeted right away by Jono and RC! Their craft cocktails were delish but what we walked away remembering was the warmth of that team! Jono treated us as friends, not customers! RC nailed our drinks! This bar team turned this swanky place into their living room! Can't wait until our paths cross again!

This bar is the best kept secret in Portland (I've lived here over 15 years) l - the cocktails are spectacular and the main bartender RJ curates a VIBE.

Abso friggn love this bar. Located in my favorite hotel (kimpton) and uhm jah the bartenders are the best. Shouts outs to Bradleigh specifically and also RJ is pretty cool too. I recommend the Fakatta bread!!

A good bar to people watch, watch a World Cup game, have a good pre-dinner snack. It's a bar with good drinks in a cool environment. Simple.

I stopped by last week with a friend and we were blown away by some of the things the bartender, RJ, whipped up for us. We gave a few flavor & spirit preferences and he spent the evening creating delicious and BEAUTIFUL drinks for us. He was an outstanding mixologist. Don't miss the jello shots either! We tried 3 flavors - espresso martini, old fashioned, and pina colada.

So happy we landed here for a drink and a bite to eat before a show at the Schnitz. All of the staff were super kind and helpful, the drinks were perfect, and the food was delish!! Thanks, guys!
