I've written a review of Bahamas Fish Market 6 years ago. Back then this was on of my "go to" places for reasonably priced high quality seafood. Fast forward to this year - and things are quite different. You still get the same garish marine-themed interior, and the same cheery service. But that's where similarities end. - Menu prices are 30-50% up across the board. Daily "specials" that were priced under $10 are now all $13-14. Clearly prices go up over time, but BFM price increases are much larger than at most other comparable restaurants in the area. I suspect that this is the "price of fame" as this place definitely has been "discovered" by non-locals, tourists and the like. - Food quality is just ok. They seem to be taking shortcuts with some of the dishes. I ordered scallops this time, and a few minutes later saw the cook come retrieve a bag of pre-packaged Asian frozen scallops from the freezer. As expected, they tasted like rubber and no amount of garlic "ajillo" sauce would save that dish. Back in the day BHM would never use frozen non-local seafood. - The smell - the place never was all that fragrant, but something's changed lately. It is no longer a smell of fish, but rather more like a stale moldy air. All in all we had an average, entirely forgettable meal at a price that was well out of tune with what we've got. I don't feel that Bahamas Fish Market provides a fair value for money anymore. Feels sad, like losing an old friend, but we will not be back.

The last time I ate here was about 28 yrs ago with my parents. I was visiting Miami and I really wanted to go and see how they had changed. I read the reviews and most of them were good. So we went and ordered the Totones Rellenos and they were very good. I had my mind set on the fried snapper which I knew my parents loved from long time ago. It was a sunday so I changed my mind after seeing the Sunday special which was Paella. Now that is one of my favorite foods but not living in Miami anymore is hard to find in northeast Florida. All 4 of us ordered it and it was just ok. I would give it a C. The rice had no flavor, they used imitation crab, and no fish. That was a letdown. I say other people getting the fried snapper and that looked really good. I shld have stuck to that. So mainly any fish you order there will be great, just stay away from the Paella. Also they have specials everyday with different platters which all sounded good. Service was good, waitress friendly. Def will go back next time and order the fried snapper.

Food was incredible! I ordered shrimp and rice and a crab salad. My husband ordered stuffed snapper in creole sauce and shrimp salad. The salads alone filled us up! But we kept eating cause everything was so good. The meals were so tasty, especially the snapper. Big portions. The shrimp were huge. It would help to brush up on some spanish if you know it! Our waitress knew some english though and was very friendly. Our meals were recommended by her and we were not disappointed. Prices were good as well! This restaurant was a highlight of our trip to Miami.

This is a great find that is about 10 minutes from Miami airport. This is fish fish done right and at amazing prices Staff are friendly and efficient and even let us try samples before we ordered The menu is extensive and in Spanish with English sub titles and the fish comes direct from the local fish service counter in the store The specialty deep fried snapper is out of this world and comes with two sides. Pick plantains for a perfect and delightful combination Worth taking the trip from Miami airport. Should be on every fish lovers list of must visit restaurants

This place has the best shrimps I've ever had. The service is remarkable, very polite. The food is absolutely delicious, you can tell it's made with love. Portions are generous, definitely worth your money. Tostones rellenos are amazing, the taste and presentation is great. I also had breaded shrimp and let me tell you: these are the best I've ever had. The tartar sauce is creamy and tasty. It's basically homemade food. Sopón de mariscos is enough to feed 4 people. Pasta is way better than in some fancy restaurants!

My brother took us here when we visited. My husband got the fried snapper and he loved it and gave it an 8 out of 10...his side dishes were french fries which were hardly warm and the sweet plantains had a funny taste like they were fried in old oil. But the fish made up for it. I had a Minuta sandwich and was so pleased with it we went back two days later to eat it again. Our server was very nice, pleasant and polite and was always watching the table checking our drinks and food which is a plus for us. I did not give it an excellent only because their side dishes are on the poor side and the tartar sauce is lacking on flavor.

We saw this place while driving on 8th street, it was lunch time on a Sunday so we decided to try it. I'm glad we did! Quality seafood at very affordable prices, well attended, great service , extensive menu and very very fresh seafood. Kitchen is open and looks very clean. They also make all deserts in house and they were awesome! Great for families!

Try the Whole Fried Snapper

if you're like me, always in search of good fresh and local seafood, you wiil love this. after reading several reviews before coming to miami, i knew i had to find this place. for $3.49 you get a fresh fish sanwich, well seasoned. even the bread it was on was delicious. very casual, busy with locals. the menu is in spanish and english. i will absolutely return before i leave miami!!

After a couple of years we decided to have lunch at this restaurant and were disappointed with the quality of the food and service deficiencies. I have seen this restaurant from its beginning where they occupied only one small place and did not even have a beer and wine license to its current state occupying a large part of the strip mall. The fish market was the driver and you could see and sense the freshness of the fish and a happy and positive staff. Location & Parking - it is easy to get to and there is parking up front but it can fill up quickly and you may end up parking a few blocks away or leaving. Atmosphere - the place is open and has a large island counter for customers that want a quick meal served. Then it expands into tables at other rooms. It has the feeling of a "Fonda" which were establishments where working people could go and get a good meal for a good price and see much activity and many people in and out. This time we did not find as many people as before but I am sure that at peak I me it is full and parking is an issue. Food presentation and quality - it has never been a food presentation type of restaurant but still continues to be a large quantity plate type of serving. If you are not a big eater, you may split and order and compliment it with an appetizer or dessert. The quality was not as good as previously and we found the fritters very greasy as well as the fish did not feel very fresh. The quality of the fish market's inventory did not seem as fresh either not as well stocked as it used to be. I saw someone eating the fried snapper (where the whole fish is served in the plate) and it looked as good as ever. Service - was regular but not outstanding. Cleanliness - seemed to be an issue as the place needs a big cleaning and especially as it has a "greasy" feeling. Price/value - although the lunch specials have a reasonable price (especially if you share) there are other restaurants offering much more value with a better atmosphere. The overall prices have gone up higher too similar establishments. This has been one of my favorites to go in the past for fresh fish and value and I hope that they take care of the declining areas and bring it back to the great place it can be for customers from all levels.

Lobster tail is awesome and not expensive ,the fish soup is very good.i have been to this restaurant many times and I have always left happy with everything from the service to the food and the bill. This is not a fancy place come dressed comfortable

Hello, Food's Psible, but they can get better. I think they have to maintain that restaurant because it's super dirty there are spiders in the windows. Dishes are expensive, but the manager must be a Pig. 🐖

A great establishment, a fresh fish market and restaurant with more than just a touch of Cuban. Large portions!

I have been coming to this restaurant since the 1980s when it was a small place on the corner only where it is now. My entire family enjoys coming here for the sopón marinero which is a true seafood-filled broth with no starchy carbs and easily enough for 2 people. My favorite is the whole fried fish with tostones and lots if lime to sprinkle over the fish. Reminiscent of my early Childhood in the Caribbean. My favorite comfort food

good fish need to speak spanish. LOL

The food was good, i ordered shrimp cocktail which was my mistake because they gave me raw shrimp on topof salad cup. I asked for half cream for my plantains, but lady looked at me wierd and said they don't have any and you don't add nothing to the plantains. My shrimp and rice was really good. The ceviche shrimp was the best i had in a long time. Food took a little while. My friend had the fried shrimp which were excellent. I highly recommend this place if you want more authentic sea food at a reasonable price.

After a relaxing weekend in Miami Beach with my husband, we decided to finished it with a fresh fish meal. We started researching the internet for fresh fish restaurant closed to where we were at. Found this one, not as close as we wanted, but on our way home (we live in Miami). Well..... It had great reviews and we found it AMAZING! Not elegant, not fancy, not cozy... a very simple cuban cafeteria style restaurant but very clean. The food was delicious, the service super nice, and the prices unbeatable. Pleeeeeaseee... try the "Tostones rellenos con camarones"(green plantain filled with shrimp) Yummmy!!! My husband had the "Sopa de Cherna" (fish soup). I don't eat fish soup, and took part of his. It was delicious. As for the main course, we both ate Fresh Fried Fish (that is what we were craving). Yellow Tale in this case. We both loved it. For dessert you really NEED to try the Flan. One of the best in Miami. Of course, we closed with a little Cuban Coffee. Well, this fantastic, complete and DELICIOUS dinner for two, was not even $50.00... NOT EVEN! Can you believe this? It's a definitely "will go back".

Combination fish market and restaurant. Fresh seafood, reasonable prices. Try the whole fried snapper entrée and the plantains stuffed with shrimp creole as an appetizer. Neighborhood restaurant worth the visit

Every time I am in Miami, I have to make a stop to eat at Bahamas Fish Market. The food is great & the employees are really nice. I always eat the same thing, arroz con mariscos, which is my favorite dish at Bahamas. If I lived in Miami I would be there everyday!

i was on my way to Tampa and a friend picked me at the airport for a meeting, he decided we should have lunch and we went here. If a kind of mix of seafood store, restaurant and cafeteria. The menu is huge and everything is made to order. I will be eating there on my next stop in Miami. Thumbs up

This place has wonderful seafood with huge portions. It was fresh and so tasty. The seafood Alfredo was very good as was the stuffed fish. Well worth the money as there was enough to take home. Our server was very professional and personable.

The restaurant has really changed the food was fresh and made when you order it great quality but the best surprise of all my waitress Sonia very polite and professional a rear commodity in todays fast moving world she kept the food coming and tended to our every need like if we were royalty great experience reasonable prices excellent experience thank you very much Sonia keep up the great work

The food was good BUT, the restaurant needs a very large overhaul top to bottom. This place is DIRTY. To the point that next to the tables you have dead insects throughout. You will not see me again in this restaurant. I can only imagine what the kitchen is like.

If you want a good inexpensive restaurant for an excellent fish or seafood plate, this is the place. They have two locations, one in Kendall and the other one 8th St. near the Palmetto. Both are fine, but I prefer the one on 8th St. Delicious daily plates made with very fresh fish or seafood. I like the dolphin fingers dish if I am not too hungry, but the “rueda de cherna” is something to try if you prefer a hearty dish. And the price is always right.

The food was extremely salty. They where getting ready to close so you felt rushed to order. Everyone speaks spanish primarily so good luck if you don't.

We stumbled upon this place, wanted to look at the fresh seafood, and ended up staying for dinner. It was delicious! My fried fish sandwich was lightly breaded and seasoned and priced at only $5. The smoked fish dip was excellent. A very extensive and reasonable menu; I loved the look of the night's special, a whole snapper, for $13. The place is cute with nautical murals and very clean. Not much English spoken here but service was quick and eager to please. A great Calle Ocho find!

the whole fish was so tasty, i had to eat another one. perfect spices and well coocked. love it. will go back again

Simple: Came in, waited for 15 minutes, are they short of staff? IDK. Went back to my car and left…. Sonia’s restaurant is a few blocks..

Place looked like a low-level restaurant. And I'm a carnivore to boot. But what food! The fried red snapper (by the pound) was so good, I felt I went to heaven. The meat was white and delicate, fresh and moist, and super tasty. The skin was so crunchy we couldn't have enough. The fried calamari in egg was the softest I have had. Coffee was very good. This fish/seafood I can have anytime!! Tres leches cake was the only average dish - but then, for that you should go to a bakery anyway. So in summary, definitely give it a visit!

Great ceviche! Surprised just how large the portion was. Had the snapper entree. Also excellent. Will definitely be back! Super casual.

This place is amazing. When you first arrive you don't really no what's going on. Suggestion: Just take your seat and order your food. It is not the most beautiful place but let me tell you THE FOOD IS FRESH AND GREAT! To help even more they sell fresh sea food to take home. The price is the best part of the meal. And the place doesn't smell like fish. I Love and Will ALWAYS be back :)

I grew up around this neighborhood and until a couple of weeks ago, had never even stepped foot inside because I’m not huge on seafood and I assumed that’s all they have. I’ve been missing out my entire life on some of the best local seafood in Miami. The oysters are always fresh and less than $14/dozen. Can’t beat that! The seafood stew is a little pricey at around $27, but it is well worth the price. The amount of seafood in it is astonishing. We had enough leftover to take home. The scallops al ajillo are so delicious. The milanesa de pollo is my favorite Cuban dish and never would I have expected a seafood restaurant to nail this dish. The service is always friendly. My fiancé doesn’t speak Spanish and he always feels welcome here. Teresa and Sonia always take such good care of me and my family. They’re very attentive and personable. If you’re looking for fresh, affordable, local, unpretentious and delicious seafood and traditional Cuban cuisine, Bahamas Fish is the place for you!

This place has not changed in decades, always serving up fresh fish accompanied with Cuban side dishes. You pick your own fish from the fish market display, which you can order deep fried, broiled, or filled. Simple basic table wares.

So I've tried this place twice just to make sure. Not very good at all. Food was blend and prices are premium. If you like ceviche Peruvian style this is NOT the place to go.

Definitely below average... place is a bit weathered as stated in other comments. The seafood rice (arroz con mariscos) was visually good looking; but tasteless. Beware of “market price$$$” they will take advantage on this one.

I am from Pennsylvania and when I visit relatives in Miami I always stop here. Outstanding Cuban food. The menu is in Spanish and English. Much of the wait staff only speak Spanish. I love the stuffed plantain with crab to start and the incredible seafood soup ($23.95) which can feed two.

Great seafood at a fair price !!! Open late service was good !! Fish is fresh !! I recommend it enjoy !!

Delicious & Fresh Seafood! This place gets packed so prepare to wait-but well worth it. Always a Great place to get goos seafood! GetSome!!

Lots of local color -- laborers taking a lunch break, retirees seeking sustenance after a marathon morning at the doctor, families gathering after Sunday morning mass. Customers constantly flow into this unpretentious storefront on a nondescript section of 8th Street, 5 miles west of its incarnation as the famous Calle Ocho in the heart of Little Havana. The constant turnover may be one of the reasons food is always fresh, even during the mid-afternoon lull. In spite of the name, Bahamas is a full-fledged, bona fide Cuban seafood restaurant. That's Ernesto Lecuona playing piano in the background. Splash your avocado salad with oil and vinegar, relish a ham or crab croquette, then wash down a minuta with an ice cold beer served in a frosty mug. Minuta? It's a fish sandwich, lightly battered and fried, served with tomato, lettuce, and tartar sauce on a Cuban bun. Messy but delicious.

This place has been around for many years. We went for lunch and had the fritters that were tasty. We had the stuffed plantain with shrimp and loved it. Our entree was a snapper filet with rice and sweet plantains. The entree lacked flavor. Overall not a bad pLACE.

I just went to this restaurant looking for some fish croquettes. I ordered to go. Imagine my surprise when I opened the bag to find 6 over-seasoned blobs of breadcrumbs with orange with sazón. Ten dollars for 6 “fish croquettes”. These croquettes are so horrible the orange color is not even the same on all them. I have had fish croquettes at other seafood restaurants and couldn’t believe how terrible these were. It’s embarrassing that this restaurant will sell these things as fish.

This is a typical fish market/restaurant that offers fresh fish and rice dishes, not to confused with a seafood restaurant. Try to stay in the simple baked or freid fish and rice with seafood, not for anything requiring much preparation or fancy sauce Once again as long as you stay is this choices the prices are reasonable but when you try to get fancy, there are many other places that are better quality and not much Dirence in price

Need to place this on your 'To Go" list for sure! Quaint establishment (nothing fancy), but the food is plentuful & delicious. Their Marinera Seafood Soup bowl is huge (enough for two!), and includes white rice so you can plunge it in! Definitely a worthwhile locale! GetSome!!

I have visited this place several times and never get disappointed. This time was the first that I finished like hummm not as good as always. That is the only reason I don't give 4 stars

excellent food and pure local atmostphere

We started with shrimps sabiche and fried calamari. For the Main Course we took fried shrimps and cod fish Vizcaina. They have a special course for every day.

Stop in a couple of weeks ago after a dolphin game. It was the worst Food my family ever had at any restaurant. We only took a couple bites of a meal paid our bill and left. The server never even asked was it okay very poor run establishment. Don't waste your money from somewhere else

Ok, parking is an absolute nightmare. But then again, you are at the end of Calle Ocho and the Palmetto in the heat of the SW - brutal traffic. If you are in the neighborhood though and are looking for a good seafood restaurant - this is it. Nothing fancy - they do have a pretty wide selection of fresh seafood - impressive display as you walk in. Relatively inexpensive, efficient service, good food... now, if only you can remember where you parked the car...

I've been coming here for year's but I might have to find a new place. I had the worst codfish with rice ever. I used to like their frituritas de bacalao but who ever is in the kitchen needs to go that food was Nasty!! Like everything else down in Miami. This place is just straight out the dumps!!

Another one of those spots that I've been coming to for years but had never gotten around to reviewing it but thought I should after my most recent visit. First and foremost this is a Cuban seafood restaurant and most dishes reflect that and yes since this is Miami and most of their clientele and staff is either Cuban or Central American you will be greeted in the local language which is Spanish of course. Now you might get lucky and your server will speak enough English to be able to communicate on a basic level,if not their paper menu is in both English and Spanish so all you'll really have to do is point at the items you'd like to order and problem solved! Some interesting appetizers that I usually order when available are the majua frita and huevas de dorado, the first are tiny anchovy type fish that are lightly battered and fried whole, they're a crispy treat and go well with a cold beer. The huevas de dorado are mahi mahi (known locally as dolphin but not the mammal!) fish eggs that are fried and are a tasty delicacy. I always order any of the daily specials but there should be enough on their menu to please any palate. The place is usually packed on weekends with hungry locals and for faster service maybe their lunch counter will be a better choice for some, either way for me this spot always satisfies when I'm looking for inexpensive seafood with local Cuban flavor!

this place is great but parking is a huge issue however the food quality is very fresh we had rueda de cherna wich is very hard to find , shrimp creole , conch fritters and oysters in a glass

I ordered the famed cevice and it was darn good. The waitress said that the portion was small but she was so wrong! I could not eat it all as a main dish. My dad got the baked fish special which was kind of mediocre but my mom liked her fish sandwich served without the bread. It is in a very basic local neighborhood and we were a little intimidated when we walked in but the waitress was very kind and even laughed with us at our horrible spanish.

In the mood for seafood we came to this restaurant. Home cooking is the closest I can described it. For starters Cod Fish Fritters and stuffed Toston(Plaitain) with Shrimp. The fritters were not that small, a bit dried and burn. The Toston is a meal in itself. A cup of Plaintain stuffed with Shrimp enchilado. Out of this world! Main dishes Lobster Enchilada and Shrimp al Ajillo. With maduros and rice. The lobster enchilada was superb. Same sauce as the Shrimp from the toston. Finger licking good. The Garlic Shrimp extra garlicky. I loved it. The rice was just perfect. The maduros ripe and sweet, golden not burnt. Cuban Coffee to end the meal. Service was attentive and prices were right. A very enjoyable family meal.

This place offers tasty, fresh seafoood at a very reasonable price. My waiter (Mylady?) was extremely helpful and attentive. They have daily specials in the $9-$11 range which offer great value. However, the truly rundown state of its men's bathroom (see attached picture) casts a serious doubt about what is going on in the kitchen. How can an owner care about his food when he is not willing to keep up his restaurant infrastrucuture at minimun levels.

The décor is very interesting. The fish painted on the walls were very entertaining. The wait staff is a bit harried and it’s very much like a diner experience to me. Not a fine dining experience but good food. Very casual place. I had the langostinos enchiladas, which was some of the best Creole I’ve had outside of my Cuban mother-in-law’s camerones enchilados. My husband ate a lot and I can’t remember all that he had but he really enjoyed it. ;-) My biggest frustration is that everyone (wait staff) speaks Spanish. If you don’t speak Spanish and speak English to them, they ignore you. I understand Spanish but don’t speak that much – so I got very frustrated. This is why I marked them as a 3 not a 4. We’ll be back, mostly because of my husband’s love of this place. Maybe my Spanish will be better by then. .

It was ok - I have had better. The staff was polite and gave good service. I had fried snapper, but was not good - they need to work on their tarter sauce because it was almost pure mayonaise. The fish soup was enjoyed, and is a meal in itself.

If you want fresh seafood of any kind, this is the place to go eat if you are in the West Miami area.

Not your most fancy restaurant but a must see when visiting Miami. A diner lookalike establishment without all the flare of a Greek diner but don't let the facad fool your pallets. The food is as fresh as it gets and what a great value. I had the fried snapper and it is moist, sweet and well seasoned without being overpowering. We sat at the bar and the service was prompt and very attentive, not mentioning super -friendly. I cannot say enough good about this place. Authentic, delicious, and inexpensive at the same time. A true gem and a true foody's paradise.

Not a tourist looking place or location but nearby family lead of to Bahamas Fish Market several years ago. This was our 3rd visit over the years; only our 6th visit to Miami. Everyone can find something on the menu and it is always good. We took our grandkids ( ages 6 and 3 ) on our most recent visit and the staff was very helpful. ( This place is "local Cuban" so the staff had to help us with the menu ). The clientele also looked Cuban and local. We expect to return on a future visit. The food is typical Cuban fare. Good food and pricing.

My family and I have been enjoying fresh Seafood t this location since the eighties and the original on 8th Street since the 70's. Try it, You will like it!

This place, clearly popular with locals, looks like an older diner with a kitschy interior. They serve up some of the freshest, tastiest seafood you will find anywhere in Miami area and beyond. Crab salad had a taste of fresh real crab and was not drowning in mayonnaise. Don't miss the fried whole snapper! If you don't speak Spanish - you might have to point at things on the menu :)

We ordered the special of the day (fried red snapper). They bring a whole fish with sides. Very affordable price for a whole fresh fish and it tastes great!

I love Cuban seafood. This is a restaurant I almost never miss when I am in Miami. My mouth waters when I think about it. I have been going there for years. It is first a fresh fish market, so the seafood is truly fresh. It is clean and simple and not fancy. Just a neighborhood joint that has food out of this world. The service in good, though not all the staff speaks English, but you can ask for someone who does. The seafood soup is a Cuban Bouillabaise- it is out of this world.

We had a delicious seafood lunch at an unbelievable price. The portions are huge and my seafood and rice dish was loaded with a nice variety of seafood. This place caters to mainly Hispanics but we felt quite welcome and had good service in spite of the language barrier.

My wife and I ate at Bahamas on my birthday March 30th. We were in Miami prior to a cruise staying at the Hampton Inn - Blue Bay. The front desk staff suggested Bahamas Seafood. We were very happy we heeded their advice. We are from New England and eat fish at least two times a week. The seafood at Bahamas was fresh, tasty and not greasy. The service was good. There was a slight problem with the bill. I needed a translator from the adjoining table to explain the situation to our server and it all worked out. When staying in Miami brush up on your Espanol.

It was time for seafood, so did my TripAdvisor search, didn't want 5 star, high energy . . . I was looking for more of a local vibe. Bahamas Fish Market was the place, almost frozen in time with core resturant values, clean, good service, friendly atmosphere and most of all quality food, remember I did not say fancy food! Pull up to the expansive horseshoe bar to eat if you are solo, or grab a table with friends and family. The offerings are broad, from conch fritters to flan, it's all good! Had the fried shrimp myself, lightly battered, 3 conch fritters (should have ordered 1, they are big), salad, maduros, and finished off the meal with a Cuban coffee! This place solid, only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, parking is tight, more patrons then parking, but don't let that keep you from stopping in!

Bahamas Fish Market has been around forever. There are actually two locations, one on Bird Road and one on Calle Ocho (SW 8 Street). There's nothing fancy about Bahamas Fish Market, from the storefront exterior to the interior with a prominently-displayed seafood counter, and painted murals of underwater scenes. It's more of a seafood market with a restaurant in it, than the other way around. As in many places in Miami, be expected to be addressed in Spanish first, especially here in the heart of Little Havana. Most servers are bilingual and a little Spanglish goes a long way. There are great specials every day of the week, one of the best being the arroz con mariscos, delicious short-grained yellow rice with a bounty of shellfish. On this latest visit I had some truly spectacular fried shrimp...some of the largest and best I've had in quite awhile. Butterflied, and delicately fried, they were perfect with a side of maduros and black beans and rice. You'll get a good view of Cuban Miami here without the spectacle of Versailles or La Carreta, both of which I also love. But Bahamas Fish Market is a really great choice for a casual, quick, seafood meal in simple surroundings.

Wow this is the BEST salmon I have ever had. I believe its broiled w butter & wine. Delicious flavors. Very good prices for seafood. Will visit again

Very cheap seafood...and very good.

This isn't a fancy seafood place but all the seafood is fresh and cooked to order. They have daily specials which are reasonably priced and are yummy. You can select the fish you want and they will cook it to your desire. The service is great and informal like everyone is family.

This is a local Miami favorite...They offer really fresh seafood at very affordable prices. I don't know whether or not to recommend Bahama's Fish market to travelers...It truly depends on what you like. It's far from the main tourist attractions and it's not elegant, but it is authentic and fresh. If you want a taste of what real hispanic atmosphere feels like, go to Bahama's Fish market. It is always crowded, so feel free to grab the first table you find. The service is very casual (cefeteria style), so it makes it great for a latin, seafood lunch. Stop by if you want a true taste of Miami!

Excellent food and fresh. Price is very considerable, Nice and CLEAN. Looks like Mr. Clean owns this restaurant. I eat it my dolphin fillet, black beans and mash potatoes. Oh I almost forgot my Cuban coffee. Best in Miami

My wife cousins came to visit from overseas we took them to Bahamas fish market on Calle ocho , the food was amazing we ordered 4 pargo enteros ( red snapper) they were cooked to perfection , taste was out of this world , fish was fresh , they had some real tiny sardines we ordered a pound of them they were delicious .definitley coming back

Not a fancy place, and you probably would not walk in if you dont know the place. This restaurant serves extremely fresh, simple and inexpensive seafood. I had a "minuta" sandwich, which is a large grouper filet that is breaded with a very light batter and deep fried. Not greasy at all. Served on a Cuban hoagie roll, lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce. Wonderful! Great meal with a coke and a Cuban expresso coffee. $7.00

Be careful with the tallest lady that works there you will spot her because she’s the tallest server there she will put her own tip without notifying you..she brought us the check with the tip included without telling us she brought the machine for us to pay already with the tip that she wanted which was 20.33 without letting us know so when I was going to tip her she said it was included I thought it was gratuity but no she put her own tip which is inaceptable and a robbery to the customer
Bad service, no one speaks English!
Food was just ok, lots of fried stuff. I was not happy that staff spoke little to no English, how does that work? Basic English shouldn't be too hard. Will not recommend, food was not all fresh.
