Upscale Asian eatery. Pleasant staff. Greeted and seated immediately. Nice decor and clean place. Ordered beverages of Diet Coke, coconut mango drink and mango lychee drink. Tasty and pretty. We ordered the walnut shrimp, pork wonton, pan fried pork dumplings, fried rice and fried seafood noodles. Everything came quickly and looked great. Food was delicious. We had leftovers. Parking lots and some street parking in the area. Currently they are only able to take cash and some food other located in the front of the restaurant credit. No credit cards at the moment are accepted. There is an ATM located inside the restaurant.

Visited Sakura for a Chinese New Year lunch at noon on Sunday, Jan 22. We got in with no reservation, but by 12:30 there was a line at the door. The restaurant is on the corner of Race and 11th, and so with two walls of windows and tables elevated above street level it has a brighter feel than some other Chinatown restaurants. The menu is large and varied (there are also fresh sushi choices). Hot n Sour, seafood soup (we accidentally ordered this as a soup but it came as an entree-sized portion), and WonTon soups were homemade and delicious. Spring rolls and steamed pork & shrimp dumplings were excellent appetizers. For entrees we had Kung Pao chicken, shrimp fried rice, shrimp pad thai, orange chicken and general tso's chicken. All were delicious (though I have to admit that the orange chicken and general tso's chicken tasted very similar to one another). Portions were huge (we could have ordered two less platters and shared with each other, but it was great to know we had enough to take home for another meal! Hot tea was complimentary and ready as we sat down, and Bubble Tea smoothies were a nice surprise for the kids. Servers/staff were organized, friendly, and very attentive. Total for all with 20% tip was $100. We didn't have to eat for the rest of the day!

This has been our go to restaurant in Chinatown for the last 3 years. Always busy and recently remodeled. Fresh, delicious dishes as well as good sushi, Highly recommend.

Great chicken in garlic sauce! Quick and super friendly service. Lots of window seating to enjoy watching people pass by or request a table away from the windows, whatever you prefer. My waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu items. Ordered the chicken in garlic sauce, it had a great flavor! Loved it will go back!

This restaurant may have a different name now, Bai Wei. This restaurant's decor is very elegant yet we felt comfortable dining in blue jeans. My wife and I stopped in and each got a bowl of their Pork WonTon in Chicken Broth not to be confused with the $2 wonton soup on the menu. This is the $6 Pork WonTon and it was terrific. We would definitely go back.

As the name suggests, Sakura Mandarin offers a range of Japanese and Chinese delights; we went the latter route, on a recent hot Friday evening, and came away very happy. Fried pork dumplings, soup dumplings, fried rice, and orange chicken as a main dish were all very well executed; ingredients were fresh, textures appropriately varied, and dishes served *hot*. Service was friendly and accurate; best of all, in my view, is that the place is BYO. We produced our bottle of sauvignon blanc, which was cheerfully opened, and chilled wine glasses quickly appeared; thus, we had a fine dinner, one of our favorite wines, and a bill at the end of the proceedings that was surprisingly small. Servings are quite large, at least by our senior-citizen standards, and even trying to order carefully we ended up with some really good eats and we just couldn't finish. The setting is agreeably informal -- i.e., don't look for tablecloths, etc -- but squeaky-clean, and the overall experience was a really good one. Next time we'll visit the Japanese side of the menu; the tempura we saw going past our table did look awfully good...

This is definitely a solid choice if you need your fix of juicy buns - they do pork and pork and crab. I really like the staff here, they are attentive, friendly, and keep filling your water glass! As far as the other choices, we stick with the chinese dishes and stay away from the sushi. I've eaten here multiple times and on the occasions where my friends ordered the sushi, I've never been impressed.

Ate here twice on my trip to Philly. When you look in the window and you see it filled with Chinese customers, you know you have the right place. When seated a pot of tea is promptly placed in front of you. Wait staff has no trouble with English and the food is excellent and priced very reasonably. This isn't a fancy place, it's just a place to get great service and great food.

This is a sweet gem in Philly's chinatown. the place is Clean!!!!!!! and the food is delicious. I am Chinese and have eaten soup Dumplings all over the world and let me tell you this is as good as it gets. they also have other authentic Shanghai dishes like drunken chicken, been there multiple times and never disappointed. highly recommend it, if you are in the area.

We had been looking for a Chinatown bar called Hop Sing's Laundromat. Other than a street address, it was something of a mystery. Few people in the area had even heard of it. After giving up, we stopped in Sakura Mandarin for a late, light bite to eat and got some very good salad, soup and sushi. Also, one waitress was very familiar with Hop Sing's. She told us exactly how to find it an, unfortunately, why we couldn't get in (We didn't meet the strict dress code and had no reservation). Anyway, Sakura Mandarin had very good food and service. Clean and pleasant.

I came to Sakura with my taste buds eager for their delicious food, but could not get into the restaurant because it is not handicapped accessible. I have eaten here before and had driven to this part of Philadelphia to enjoy their delicious food. But, I now am handicapped and could not get into the restaurant. From the street level main entrance on Race Street there about six steps up to the dining area. The side entrance on N. 11th Street has a ramp to the door, but when I looked inside there were tables and chairs in front of the door. The door also had a sign directing everyone to use the Race Street main entrance. It was very evident that handicapped people are not welcome at Sakura Mandarin. I was very disappointed.

Very inexpensive, close to the Philly Convention Center. No alcohol served. The variety of dim sum was good, the Shanghai pork soup dumplings were very tasty. The beef noodle soup was tasty, the cut of beef could have been better. Service was average.

Good place to eat in Chinatown, particularly if you are at the convention center. Great bubble tea, I got the strawberry and loved it. Good thikness. Some places make it like a shake, others like milk..this is the latter. The menu features both Japanese and Chinese cuisines. I got the diced chicken with peppers. It came with rice. The chicken was good, but not much depth in the flavor; the peppers were very hot, so I was only able to eat a few of them. Service was okay, nothing spectacular. They forgot to split the check, which I previously emphasized needed to be done. A good place to dine, but there are plenty of other options in the area.

Lunch in Chinatown. We graved dim sum and tried this restaurant for a change. Food came out quickly and was tasty. The dumplings were hot, but I think, they need to make the skin of the dumplings thinner. Its a bit thicker compared to other dim sum places. Their dim sum is via menu, so no traditional carts are getting pushed around either. Still worth checking it out if you grave chinese food (or japanese, since they also have japanese dishes on their menu).

Excellent dumplings, braised fish with vegetables and kung pao chicken in Chinatown, just 2 blocks from the Convention Center. No alcohol served, but I think you can bring your own. We were some of the very few diners who were not ethnic Chinese and the dining room was full - this is a good sign the food is authentic.

We stopped in on a Saturday night, the wait was short and worthwhile. The food and service were fantastic. The restaurant is very clean and friendly...it will be a regular stop when I am in Philly.

My famiily and I never had soup dumplings before, so we stopped in to try. We had the pork, pork and crab, and ordered Udon as well. Very efficient service, food came quickly. The dumplings were delicious. The dining room was very busy and crowded. I would not suggest bringing infants or toddlers in stollers.

I ate here with my 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter on a Saturday in November. It was crowded so the service was a bit slow to start but picked up as the meal went on. We started with their specialty - soup dumplings. They were very good, once you figure out that the soup inside the large dumpling needs to cool before trying to pop the whole thing in your mouth! We also had their scallion pancakes and pan fried pork dumplings - pancakes were good, dumplings were outstanding. Our entrees were the General Tso's chicken and the Shanghai pan-fried Udon noodles with pork. The General was pretty good, that's the kids' favorite. The noodles were excellent, with a great texture and good flavor. They also have a full Japanese menu with all kinds of sushi and rolls, etc. but we stuck with the Chinese side of the menu this night. Sakura Mandarin is a great choice in Philly's Chinatown!

Banging Dumplings! I never had soup dumplings before and they were so awesome! The regular dumplings were good too, not too doughy. Will be coming back here again and again!

Not your traditional chinese restaurant. It has a very modern and upscale setting, with prices that are lower than expected. The menu was very broad and had options for everyone. The Shanghai Spring Roll, and Wonton soup was some of the best I've had. They do lose a star, or rating, for service. The excellent thing is they bring out one dish at a time, if you order several, so you do not feel rushed to eat before your next one, but when we were done eating we sat for a solid 10 minutes before having to get up and ask for the check. A man other than the waiter then kept reminding us to leave a tip, which I found rude and unnecessary.

The name sounds like Japanese restaurant but the restaurant really serves good Chinese food! I had a dried pot with lamb and juicy bun. The juicy bun is incredible! You have to try it if you go!

Wife had the Shrimp Pad Thai and I had the Beef and Mushrooms. Came with soup. Excellent and fast service. Food was really good. Pad Thai was one of the best I have had (and I love Pad Thai). Prices are very reasonable. Had all that a spring roll for $16.00. Did I mention Portions were huge?

We were caught without eating and needed a quick meal. This restaurant was on the corner. They were quick, but the food really wasn't anything special. The service was great. My husband's chicken with broccoli tasted a lot like my eggplant in garlic sauce. Probably a lot better places around for Chinese.

The food was good. but, the unkindness and laziness of the waiters.

We travel extensively and love authentic Asian food. So according to our many, many experiences this place ranks as one of the best for soup dumplings. + Their service is amazingly good for a Chinese restaurant. Seeing mostly Asian clientele there we assume that the rest of the menu is good too. There is NO COMPARING the quality of the food, ambiance and service with another Philly place for soup dumplings called Dim Sum Garden. If you don't want to waste your money we recommend to go strait to Sakura.

On a recent side trip thru China town in Philly we stopped into the Sakura Mandarin on a busy Saturday afternoon looking for dim sum and a quick bite. Service was fast, friendly and helpful. The dumplings and appetizers were quite good - certainly plenty of food to fill a hearty appetite - and reasonably priced too.

Visited on a busy Saturday night, but made reservations using the Open Table app. We were seated right away and others were waiting for tables. The service was relatively quick, although we ordered dumplings as an appetizer and that seemed to take a little longer than we expected. They were very busy though. Fried rice, orange beef and sesame chicken were all very good. My son got to take leftovers back to his dorm room and was happy about that! Would definitely go back!

Very nice and clean interior. Excellent service. Lots of authentic menu choices. Food was fantastic! Prices moderate. Highly recommend this restaurant for this cuisine to satisfy you!!

Soup dumplings are excellent as were all the other dishes we had (stir fried rice cake, general tso's for the kids, drunken noodle), quick, friendly service.

This a great restaurant serving a variety of chinese cuisine. The Xiao Long Bao or soup dumplings are really good here and they also have some good spicy dishes.

Came here for a late lunch on Christmas Day. I got the pan fried noodles with shrimp, and my boyfriend got pad thai with chicken. It was very good!

I can't believe I forgot to place a review about this wonderful place we've visited couple of months ago. But here it is: The BEST place for XLB / Soup Dumplings in Philly's Downtown. Better then "famous" Joe Shanghai's and many other places we've tried in NY (the only two exceptions that stand on the same level or higher than SM is Shanghai Asian Manor in NY and Yank Sing in SF). And I hardly can compare the other venue we've tried XLB in Philly (which is Dim Sum Garden) because it was so dirty and awful that don't let me even start with it. In short - the food is wonderful, the service is friendly and mostly attentive, the ambiance is nice, cozy and most importantly CLEAN (even the bathroom which is rare case in Chinese restaurants). So go there, enjoy and you'll thank me later : ).

We are lovers of Chinese food, this is a different mixture of taste the best Chinese food we ever tried, traditional spices like ginger provides unique taste, I recommend this place if you are in philladelphia.

Went to Flower Show at the convention center. Wanted to have lunch at Reading Terminal Market, but it was more of a mad house than usual. Walked over to Race and stopped here based on outside appearances and many tables taken. Happy find. We had spicy beef fried buns, cold sesame noodles, and cucumbers in chili oil. All were fantastic. Service was fast and friendly. Only caveat is that they do not take credit cards.

We had a very poor experience at this restaurant. We chose it because it was full of local people but at the end we were dissapointed with the food.

We had a great dinner last night after visiting the Philadelphia Flower Show. There were 6 in our group and we found the staff to be very happy and courteous particularly our server who was so helpful with offering suggestions. We followed her lead and barely looked at the extensive menu...her suggestions were right on! Our starters were two plates of dumplings (one pork, one shrimp) and an order of pancakes with scallions...almost didn't go with the pancakes...glad we did because they were that good! The variety of main course selections were also shared and each was yummy. This BYOB restaurant is attractive with brightly painted walls and strands of small white lights creating a festive atmosphere. What a fun evening to top off our afternoon at the flower show!

We went with our four boys, 12, 10 6 and 4. Service was brisk to brusque but thats because it was a busy Saturday night. The food was first rate, and worth the short line to be seated

Needed a late night bite after a long day during the Convention. Appetizers were ok. Spring roll was good but would have been better hot. Their version of bang-bang shrimp was good too. Definitely not too salty and could have used a bit more spice. Drunken noodle with shrimp was ok but again could have been a bit more spicy for my taste. Service was fast and expedient. Place was clean. Price was right on the money.

We were able to eat outdoors in late August, 2020. That's how we decided to stop at Bai Wei. Then, they served our food and we were impressed by the range of flavors of the sauces - and sauces make the dish in my experience. We'll go back next time we're in Chinatown Philly. And, the price for what we got - high value! btw - it started raining and the staff was caring & wonderful to help us avoid the rain, check out quickly, and be on our way happily. First-rate service.

Stopped by Sakura while staying in Philadelphia. Looked crowded and good so I went in. Service great and friendly people. While I ate people kept coming in and coming in and coming in. All were greeted warmly and most seated very quickly. I had the beef ribs with pepper on sizzling plate. Excellent. All very tender. It looked like so much food but I ate every bite. Some of the ribs were a bit fatty and inedible, thus the four stars. I also had the wonton soup. Very flavorful. Again, ate every bite and drank every bit of broth. While I was eating, one of the chefs came in with a fresh whole fish in a bag from, I am assuming, the market across the street. Good sign!

We had soup dumplings in Chinatown in New York in March and loved them...but haven't been able to find them close to home. My sons literally jumped with excitement when they saw the soup dumpling photo in Sakura's window. We ordered 4 servings of them, as well as miso soup, wonton soup, sushi, seaweed salad, chicken lo mein, and eggplant with garlic sauce. It was all delicious. The portion sizes were appropriate for the price. We'll definitely return.

Food-soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, popcorn shrimp were very good and well-priced. Will definitely return the next time we are in Philly.

Food presentation, quality, porcion and price are great! Service was poor! Not very friendly server!

Situated at one of the street corner entrances to ChinaTown, this place has some of the more ornate and classic lighted signage in the area. Was very busy late lunch time when I arrived with my native born asian friends. They confirmed that the dishes they had ordered were indeed predominantly authentic (see pics) altho I defaulted to Gen Tsaos chicken just out of unfamiliarity with other menu items. My dish not so good, came with white sticky rice. Service was good and my friends conversed freely in mandarin with waitstaff. We had to ask for a fork for me (chopsticks were on the table) and with it got a spoon, but no knife - so make sure you know what utensils you will need to eat with. Things were Shanghai style so I was told, which seems to indicate a sweeter palate. The 'spicy' level was on the mild side in everything but I'm sure they will accommodate your requests. The menu included dim-sum and appetizer level quantities as well as full shareable dishes, and Japanese/sushi dishes. A little on the pricey side but there was plenty to go around.

Situated at the corner of 11th and Race Street is a nice clean restaurant that carries both Chinese and Japanese food. However, their selection is limited, but they are all delicious. Their steam buns or pan fried dumplings particularly are amazing. Also, their Chinese pancakes are thin and crisp and simply delicious.

Name sounds Japanese (Sakura) but it's actually a Chinese (mostly) restaurant (hence the 'Mandarin') in the name i guess. The menu and style looks mostly slanted towards Shanghainese and the surrounding regions, rather than Cantonese. Quality was fair with good portions and priced well. Best is the restaurant is clean and pleasant.

I was here at lunch time. It was average. I came for the Soup dumplings. Disappointed they had absolutely no soup inside. It was completely dry. Shrimp dumplings only had one very small piece of shrimp. Not what I was looking for.

I was traveling with very NON-adventurous friends, and so I had to seek a Chinatown restaurant where they could find something "not weird". We landed at Sakura and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, even when ordering the most normal things on the menu (lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and General Tso chicken). The Lo mein was outstanding! Atypically spicy and perfectly cooked. Next best was the General Tso. It was atypically mild and had great flavor. The least exciting was the chicken with broccoli. I had the miso soup which was standard fare and my friend had dumpling soup which was fantastic. Our first pot of tea was cold but our second was perfect. The service was terrible, sadly. We had numerous different servers and we're never offered refills on water or tea (had to ask) and they didn't ever bring my friend's ordered beverage. Only one server spoke english (we were actually the only non-Asian clientele) so it was difficult to ask questions about the menu or recommendations in the neighborhood for dessert. But the food was good enough that my friend dragged her boyfriend there just a few weeks later because she couldn't stop thinking about the lo mein!

I took a day trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and was touring the Chinatown. All my friends recommended the restaurant, Sakura Mandarin as they loved the authentic Shanghai and Japanese food (i.e. soup dumplings, spicy beef and tripe, spider roll, dragon roll, etc.) And I have to say, Sakura Mandarin really lived up to the hype my friends built for me. It was soooooo delicious; I loved all the food, the dim sum, appertizers and the cold dishes. They have this spicy bowl where you can pick your ingredients and they'll cook it, absolutely amazing and it's their signature dish. You must get it. Really nice staffs and the owner, Jack is super awesome. The experience exceeded my expecations. I will be back soon! Thank you!

Had a family dinner here. Loved the dumplings, we tried a variety of them. Cilantro beef was great and spicy! Maybe service is slightly slow but worth the wait!

The food was delicious and service was great. The portions are big and are meant to be shared. Seems to be very authentic. We were pleased with both food and service. Atmosphere was comfortable.

Visited with a party of 8, everyone ordered a few things and we shared. Delicious scallion pancakes, fried, steamed and soup dumplings, Singapore street noodles, shrimp tempura with mango chili sauce, pad Thai, udon beef. Fresh made, great taste. The bill was only $116 with the tip. We will be going back. Chinatown in Philly is great, but it is always crowded and parking is expensive and always an issue.

The food was excellent and the service was great; although there was a bit of language barrier. But don’t let that discourage you, it all worked out in the end. The food came fast and it was delicious. We got the special chive and pork dumplings and honestly I have never had better. They were really crispy on the outside and the filing was moist on the inside but not wet. We also got truffle pork soup dumplings, they were pretty good. I am personally not a fan but I still enjoyed them. We also got shrimp drunken noodles. They were excellent and the shrimp was very nice. And the star of the show, The General Tso’s Chicken. Is was EPYC (yes with a “y” that is not a typo that is just how good they are, they need a new letter). The chicken was moist and crispy and the sauce was NOT like a soup or toO much, it was just great. For a total of ~$50 it was well worth it IMHO.

I give it my highest recommendation. The food and service were top notch. Still cash only. Well worth that inconvenience. Some of the very best Asian food I have ever had

I ordered online at eat24 for a lunch box, and after 20 mins gap, they still need to begin cooking it. After they're done with cooking, they tell me that I have to add $4 to the order because they don't do lunch on Sunday, and it's counted as dinner. There is NO such information online at all, and they didn't bother to tell me before they made it and after I arrived. I messaged eat24 and they said they told the restaurant that eat24 would pay the difference. But the restaurant ignored it and forced me to pay extra. This is pure FRAUD. Eat24 couldn't do refund or anything, but gave me some coupons instead. Btw dim sum is far better at original dim sim garden, and I will NEVER come back to Sakura Mandarin ever again

Simple restaurant with authentic Chinese cuisine that is consistent and popular with the local young Chinese community.

Great sushi, terrific service and very reasonable. My wife and I both had sushi and some dumplings and everything was great. Very good service. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys sushi or other asian cuisine.

Went to Sakura based on reviews here and on open table. Was warmly welcomed by staff. Restaurant was quite busy and we were among the few non-Asians. We were treated very well and the wait staff did not hesitate to explain the dishes in helping us order. Food was of excellent quality and servings were quite large. We will absolutely be returning on our next visit.

The restaurant is conveniently located, close to major attractions in Philly area. Sushi's, Bento boxes, and some variety of Thai fried rices are some of the things I have tried here in my multiple visits. The seating area is a little compact, but the food is delicious.

Had a late lunch here. Very attractive setting, friendly greeting. Had Scallion Pancakes, probably best we ever had. Excellent Soup Dumplings, too. Delicious Mushroom Dry Pot and Salt & Pepper Shrimp & Squid. Everything seemed freshly prepared, with a broad selection. Reasonably priced as well. Recommended for sure.

The restaurant has special hot pot spicy food. The flavor is quite good. And they also have good buns. But the servers are kind of lazy and not that easy-to-go. Anyway, speical food is the most attracting thing.

The dumplings here were super tasty! We had a great time trying new food and the bright and cheery atmosphere enlivened our road weary selves. This place is full of windows on a busy corner providing a great opportunity to watch people. The service was good and the food came out as it was ready so, we ended up eating family style.

Amazing food that the whole family enjoyed!!!Pork soup dumplings a hit with my 9 yr old, my duck dish was tender and husband said seafood lowmein was excellent. Bubble tea was a added hit! Our fave restaurant to visit when in Philly! Eddy our waiter was great!

We received deliciously fresh sushi. The miso soup was layered with flavor. Pork fried dumplings ~ yum! The best thing we ate was the scallion pancakes. Best because it was something new for us and we love onions and anything close to pancakes. It was served with a slightly sweet sauce. Everyone receives a pot off hot tea free with their meal. We ordered two sushi rolls and everything else making our total $23.00 with out tip. Would definitely go again and again and again :)

This is a very good restaurant with good tasty food . The rating should be " a four" except for waiting staff. Our main waitress, middle aged lady, acted quite enjoyed, abrupt and not at all pleasant consistently through the visit. The restaurant is very well attended by the Chinatown natives so she seemed to be a bit irritated that we did not know Chinese language or cuisine. But you should give them a try! Mainly because the food is good. Their dumplings are famous. They have sushi and maki. We had the "build it yourself" stir fry which is really great and you can make it your own by choosing extra ingredients some of them a bit exotic and not standard customary. What softened the impact of less than pleasant waitress is the fact we were lucky to meet the young owner of this place. He is interested in healthy ingredients and wants to continue the high quality of food combined with nice presentation. Conversation with him was quite pleasant. This restaurant is BYOB. The decor is simple. Food good. Waitress could be more pleasant...

I thought this place was a Japanese restaurant (sakura is the cherry blossom flower of Japan) until my family and I flipped open the menu and noticed popular Taiwanese and Shanghai dishes. The place is clean, service was good the day we visited, and the food was good. The servings were not very large, and the price was a bit higher than other Chinatown restaurants. Shanghai is most famous for their soup dumplings (dragon dumplings), so we went ahead and tried that. It's okay. It's obviously not as good as the ones in NYC nor in Asian countries, but it was doable. At least there was a little soup inside. I recommend the cold dish of duck tongues though. Now that was something special! We had our Caucasian friend eat it and he said it was delicious and even went in for seconds. Of course, we didn't tell him what it was until the dish was cleared and that was when he started puking. Not one of the best eats in Chinatown, so I probably won't visit again, but for my American friends who are not accustomed to the hectic Chinatown restaurants, this one is good.

Wife was attending a conference at Marriot Downtown and we were staying there. Went out walking into Chinatown (a short walk) and found this place filled with ethnic Chinese patrons so figured it would be good and it was. Waitress was very friendly and demonstrated the proper way for us to eat our dumplings. Food was much better than the local places around where we live and relatively inexpensive. No liquor license but a pot of tea comes with your food.

Really surprised how good this place was. For many years we have gone to other places in Chinatown but this time we sought out somewhere new. Cautious of the the Japanese/Chinese mix at first but for our group it was a plus. Some had Sushi, some selected items from the traditional Chinese menu and for the less adventurous favorite Chinese-American dishes. Like the modern look and certainly the clean restrooms were also a plus.

I'm probably not the best judge of dim sum, or at least, I'm not a great connoisseur, but since all the reviews I read on the window at this restaurant gave mostly a thumbs up about it, I decided, why not give it a try. They said their most popular dim sum was the one with pork and crabmeat, so that's what I ordered. It wasn't very flavorful, and the best I can say about it was the little meatball-shaped thing inside wasn't overly salty. This is a very popular place, though, (it was jam-packed the night I visited) and the prices are reasonable. I will go back again and this time bring a bigger appetite and try more of a variety. A neighbor ordered chicken tempura and it looked yummy.

Both the Chinese and Japanese selections are solid here. The juicy buns are always great and I've had some really nice sushi rolls here too. The staff is friendly and attentive and the price is right.

This restaurant confiscated my credit card number and stored it for 4 months then attempted to use it. This apparently has happened to multiple multiple people. Recommend please staying away from this establishment of scammers.

My husband, daughter and I, have gone to this restaurant twice after shopping around Chinatown . Prices are affordable, they have a great variety of delicious Asian dishes to choose from. Service is warm, fast and polite, they take care of all your requests immediately to make sure you are ok. Restaurant is simple but clean. As soon as you arrive you get a glass of water and a kettle of hot tea and with the bill the typical cookies of fortune. Highly recommended.

My family and I stopped by for dinner. Our waitress was not the most welcoming. She was a bit cold at first. Speaking to us without really acknowledging us, but we werent going to let her ruin our day, afterall, it was my daughters birthday! Our waitress warmed up a bit after a while. Our meals were served seperately. My husband was served first. Ten minutes later, my 17 yr old and I received our meals. Eleven minutes later the birthday girl received her meal! Our waitress and her helper argued about it in their native tongue without realizing that my daughter is fluent in Mandarin! Ha-ha! They didn't say anything inappropriate but they should have done it in private. The food was absolutely delicious and judging by the aromas of the passing plates being served all over this spot and the smiling faces of the patrons, EVERYTHING was delicious!

Just walking by and decided to try this restaurant. The waitress was fantastic! she helped us order and the food was amazing. If I ever visit Philadelphia again you can be sure I will come back here to eat. My granddaughter is a picky eater and she loved the dumplings. if you are in Chin town stop here and eat. you will be glad you did

This place has by far the worst service I've ever experienced and that offsets the food. I came in yesterday at 10:40pm mind you the place closes at 11:30pm in a matter of minutes I was told 3 times that the kitchen closes at 11pm and the place closes at 11:20pm which the sign and website says 11:30pm. As we're ordering every other thing I point on the menu they say they don't have or can't make which I found to be very weird and not to mention the horrible service asking to bring hot tea literally 4-6 times and napkins and utensils. So overall my opinion to you all is AVOID this place if you can I'm sure there are much better places service wise then this. Guy in the pic super rude and obnoxious. Total disappointment F-

Went here with some business colleagues for lunch. We had perused their online menu and thought it looked interesting. Not your typical Chinatown decor. We were seated immediately and looked at the menus and discovered they were dinner menus. Nice try hostess. We requested the waiter to bring the lunch menu. A smirking waiter sheepishly delivered the lunch menus to us. Lunch includes soup at half the price of the dinner offerings (larger portions for dinner we supposed). Average lunch costs $10. The hot and sour soup was delicious and fresh. The flavors popped. Entrees were average with an ice cream sized scoop of rice (very stingy for an Asian restaurant). Overall just average and the menu sleight of hand at noon was sleazy.

Spending a weekend in Philly and wanted to hit Chinatown. Previous reviews on TripAd. Led us to try Sakura Mandarin - good choice all the way. Food was delivered quickly, well prepared and warm. Tried the scallion pancake...it was nice and thin, crispy and tasty: would order that again in a heartbeat!

We ordered the pan friend pork dumplings and the spicy beef. The dumplings were fantastic and so was the beef. The beef was very tender and delicious. Service was a little slow, and the waitress wasn't too friendly. That aside, I would come back for that delicious food.

The sushi, Pad Thai, Bubble tea, and soup was fabulous. My cousin took me to experience some authentic cuisine in Philadelphia. I loved the food and cannot wait to try even more delicious items. This place has something for everyone if you want a more traditional Chinese dish, Thai inspired cuisine, or something a little more unusual with the hot pots. It is a great place to try.

Incredible food! But the udon shrimp needed more spice which was offered up and just perfection then.
Best soup dumplings
All the review I read were correct! This is the place to go for soup dumplings. They taste as good as the ones I had in Taiwan - the famous Tin Tai Fung (1-2 hours wait daily). We usually don't venture out to Chinatown as we are in NJ side, but we heard good things about the restaurant so we thought to give it a try. In addition to the soup dumpling, the beef noodle soup was excellent - instead of beef tendon, the dish is full of beef shank with excellent flavor and spices. Our kids grew up loving beef noodle soup and always went to Joe's Peiking Duck for it. Now we know where to go for beef noodle soup! So glad we found this place. We told other friends about it and they like the food too. They also have a private banquet room in the back for about 40 people with complete audio video set up. We inquire about it for a possible private event.
