One of our favorite Thai restaurants

By russkwtx |

This is one of our favorites when we feel like Thai. Service is always warm and professional. Food is excellent. We always start with Dumplings with shrimp and pork ($5.95). And we like the chicken satay, never dry ($6.95). Very flavorful. I like the yellow curry with chicken, a bit sweet and spicy ($9.95). The wife usually gets the red curry duck ($14.95). Be careful, it can be very spicy even if you ask for mild. I am really glad to see that they are getting more business because they deserve to be successful.

Great Fried Rice

By Sarah |

I ordered Basil Fried Rice to go and the rice was amazing. I was disappointed because I asked for spicy sauce on the side and it wasn't there. At the restaurant I requested it, and the person who was checking me out was rude about it and said it was inside the bag (turned out that it was not). Other than poor customer service, it was a good experience. I'll go again but I'll double check that everything I have ordered is in the bag

Good sized portions

By DonJancauskas |

Most Thai restaurants serve very tasty dishes but in small portions. The food is good here and the portions are good sized. You will not go out of here hungry. The other thing I like about this restaurant is that when you ask for spicy or extra spice they will spice it up for you to where you can taste the difference. I like their Thai Pad Spicy and ask they add some extra spice, which they do. Prices are reasonable and the service is excellent.

The Best in Dallas

By myohmyitsrhy |

This little restaurant is in an interesting area but the food is amazing! We ordered spring rolls (10/10) and yellow curry which was also amazing. Prices are good and staff is knowledgeable. Great vegan options.

Authentic Thai food

By Richard C |

Great place to get authentic Thai food. Make sure you order off the Thai Menu for the good stuff. Great prices and huge portions. Going back for lunch specials today after last night awesome dinner. Beef jerky was a great appetizer and seafood soup as a meal and walked out with only a $20 bill

Good

We tried this place because of Groupon. Glad we did. Pad Thai is excellent. Nicely spiced and well favored. And the prices are reasonable.

great thai food

By Mike M |

I would say authentic thai food because spiciness of the meal that I ordered. it had a different twang to it. something similar to what we had in Bangkok. I had the panang curry (very spicy) and it did not disappoint.

A Gem of Thai in North Dallas

By Mitch P |

I came across this place enroute to the Gallaria and thought I'd give it a try. As a traveling professional I like to patronize "indie" places usualy recomended by the locals. This was a Happy Accident, and I look forward to returning. I had the Masuman Curry that was fresh, sweet and just enough heat not to compeat with the flavor. I treated myself to the Fried banana dessert and it was amazing. The only thing missing was my sweetie.

The right spice

By rhpatt29 |

Having traveled Thailand extensively, I am overly critical of most US Thai restaurants. This restaurant was very close to authentic Thai food. The red curry (#3 spice level) was really spicy. It made my nose and my eyes water. Just right! I normally ask the chef to spice the dishes up a level and I was glad I did not ask this time. Plus the curry was less creamy and more broth based and it wasn't sweet which is good. The Pad Kee Mao was very tasty. The Thai Brown sauce was flavorful but not too sweet. Lunch came with egg rolls or Ton Yum soup. Both were good.

Good for lunch specials

By mmmartin70TX |

I would not say this is the best Thai I've ever eaten, but certainly not the worst. I've eaten here a few times since it is close to my office. Everything I've had has been good. Good lunch specials. It is pretty quiet in here but this place has been around for a long time. I will continue to eat here. Curry is good, spice levels are good.

Overrated

By DoctorRandy |

Just average. The steamed dumplings were cold, the fish were flavorful but tough, the shrimp rolls were tasty, and the crispy pork with broccoli was average. We won't return.

Not as good as I remember.

By Leo L |

The first few times I went here, the food blew me away, particularly the fresh spring rolls. This last time, I went with a friend for lunch. The spring rolls were still to die for. I also ordered the pad Thai, which which was a huge serving. I asked for a four out of five on the spice scale did not find it incredibly hot; which, from my perspective, is good. I had never had pad Thai before, so I can't say I am qualified to charge it's quality, but it did seem as if the flavors were all a little bit run together. I also ordered to drink the sweet Thai iced tea, which was incredibly delicious! What did bummed me out a little was that both the table and the menu were sticky, resulting in my needing to go to the restroom to wash my hands because they became sticky as a result. We moved to the other half of the table, which was not as sticky as the place where we were seated. Basically, I was not as impressed as I had been in the past when I was there for supper. My friend said he would give it about a seven out of 10. All in all, not a terrible experience, but not one that would cause me to go running back.

Strip Mall Gem

By KimchiEater |

Stopped in here because it was close to where we were and other people seemed to really like it. We both had soup that was very good. Seafood soup was full of various types of seafood and very flavorful. I don't know if it's off the menu now, but we also had a soup with a very dark broth with noodles and beef. It was delicious. The online menu doesn't appear to show that soup to be available anymore, but if it's on the menu at the restaurant, I'd highly recommend it.

Very Good Thai Food

By MKAdventurers |

We ate here because of a groupon. We ordered the Massaman curry and Pad Thai. Server did not ask if we wanted it spicy or not, so we got them both mild. Pad Thai tasted sweet and savory. Massaman curry tasted good but the consistency we are used to is thicker, Bangkok Dee's was more soupy. Other than this, service was GREAT. They understand Gluten Free, so they made sure we didn't get any (we are not celiac). Price was affordable. Atmosphere was modern.

A strip mall surprise

By Leo L |

I first discovered this place through a Groupon. And the first thing that impressed me was the fresh spring rolls, of which I have yet to have better anywhere. The food is always well-prepared and, to my sense of what is good, exceptionally well-prepared. As I mentioned in the title, this is in a strip mall alongside the service road to a freeway, next to a laundromat. Not the most attractive of settings. But I have never had anything there that I didn't think was great. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The interior decor is pleasant. This is simply a good little, inexpensive Thai restaurant that I have always enjoyed, and the people I have shared it with always come away happy.

A Surprise

By goseedo |

Bangkok Dee was a very short walk from our hotel, perfect for arriving late and not wanting to drive back out for dinner. I'm surprised there are not more reviews, as this establishment was quite a delightful surprise. We had the Orange Chicken and Cashew Chicken; both were excellent, the chicken being tender, the rice perfectly steamed, the veggies just right and in good proportion to the protein. Prices were reasonable. The atmosphere is pretty, while not overdone, and relaxing, with just-right lighting. Service was excellent -- smiling faces and happy to have a conversation. Go and try!

Yum!!!

By Mazuza3 |

We got the fresh shrimp rolls, the yellow curry, and the glass noodles. It was all super yummy! We were looking for some good Thai food, and were not disappointed!

Excellent yellow curry

By russkwtx |

This is our go-to Thai restaurant in Dallas. Our favorite starters are chicken basil wraps and gyoza. I usually get the yellow curry with chicken and it is outstanding. The wife like the pineapple shrimp curry or red curry with duck. The flavors are delicious. The service is always efficient and polite. Great place, I highly recommend.

Love this place

By Sarah |

Perfect for a small party or to rent a whole space for about 40 to 50 ppl. Everything was gorgeous in presentation and the owners and servers were attentive, kind, and friendly. Definitely recommend!

Excellent food

By nessab1990 |

Let me just say hole in the wall have always been the best for me. I totally recommend eating here the portion size is out the wall!!these people are very generous and I love it. The atmosphere is very nice. Staff was sweet. Only negative thing I have is they are terrible at refilling drinks even water. Other than that if u don't mind then go here.

So cold!

By BrussoDallas |

The restaurant was so cold it took away from the entire experience. The food was good, very large portions. I ordered the Pad Thai spicy & it came out nice & spicy & my husband tried the Pad Kee Mao. Both were good but not good enough to get us to go back.

Delicious!

By ModernWanderers |

I called to order takeout and walked here from my hotel (about 4 minutes away). Staff were suuuuuuper friendly and service was quick. Menu was well priced and my Thai peanut meal was delicious — in fact, the lunch-sized serving filled me for the entire day! The meal was mostly chicken and very few vegetables, which is rare for most restaurants these days … so that’s great for protein-seekers and chicken-lovers like me (though I do love my veggies…)! When I walked in to pick up my order, there were quite a few people seated for a weekday lunch, so it’s not just me who seems to like this place :)

Delicious Lard Nah

By Elmar J |

Came for lunch and had again, as always, Lard Nah. This is one of the few Thai restaurants I know in Texas that really knows how to make this dish well. My wife and our friend had more traditional Thai dishes, and they were also good. Will be back again.

Lunch

By FamilyMan1963 |

I love Thai food, and enjoy eating at Thai restaurants I've not been to before. This was a first for me here and it ranks amongst the very best. The egg rolls were very good to excellent, the chicken sauté was some of the best I've ever had, the tom yum soup was fantastic, and the shrimp pork dumplings were very good if a little small. The pad Kee Mao was very good to excellent. My only problem with this restaurant is the absolutely horrendous 1970s elevator music they keep playing. Very, very sappy stuff. If you can get past the music and an overabundance of truly horrible plastic flower arrangements you'll enjoy the meal.

By bhushanjain10 |

Excellent soup but Pad Thai was not exceptional

By Cruising2by2 |

This restaurant was recommended by a Thai friend and we went in for take out. Soup was excellent but I would not recommend the Pad Thai. It was gelatinous and not much flavor. We have had much better

Just OK

By KStraveler515 |

I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken. It was ok, but there weren't a lot of cashews and it was even skimpy on the pineapple. It was served nice and warm, which I appreciated, it just wasn't as tasty as other pineapple fried rice I have had.

Excellent food

By Jom2468 |

It was a relaxing, quiet place to have a tasty meal after a day of business. We had the chicken basil wraps, pad thai and shrimp and scallop dish. The spice was suited to our taste. We would definitely go again if staying nearby.

BYOB and great lunch portions

By yWould-I-Lie |

This little neighborhood restaurant is my favorite lunch spot to meet family or friends with any medical appointments in the Presbyterian Walnut Hill/Central area. I always get the basil chicken wraps and one of the lunch specials. Service is usually very good and the decor is modern, yet casual. Since the BYOB is always an option, I would recommend a Cabernet with the #3 spicy option, really brings out the flavors even more.

Ordered take out.

By JCTNGAL |

Very good Thai food. We had it delivered due to Covid 19. Food was good and still good temperature. I chose the Pad Thai and my son chose Chicken and Shrimp Basil.

Much better than it looks from the street

By Gene F |

Located in a small strip center and it is not particularly inviting from the street. I would never have stopped there except it was near where I was staying and Trip Advisor reviews were quite good. Entrees are all freshly prepared and cooked to your desired degree of spiciness. Delicious "Tom Yum Chicken Soup". Servings are generous but not huge. My wife and I each had a cup of soup and split an entree and it was plenty. Clean with pleasant but not "over the top" decor. Quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful although English is definitely a second language. I will be back in Dallas next week and will definitely return.

Authentic & best in a long time!

By Joy N |

You have to eat here! It's just like our Asian friends make it at home. We had egg rolls, chicken satay, sticky rice, papaya salad, beef larb, and chicken pineapple fried rice.

Healthy choice

By Beth13Joe |

We have eaten here for several years and have always received excellent food and service. We have eaten Thai food in several cities and this is still our #1.

Hidden Gem on Central Expressway

By JaneS |

We tried this place on a Groupon and will definitely be back. The location is a little odd; it's next to a laundromat and a Fastsigns, but the vibe inside is very quiet and relaxing. The staff was warm and friendly. I got Thai fried rice and my husband got the green curry. The portions were perfect and the food was excellent. We also got the fried shrimp rolls as an appetizer which was also excellent.

Thai comfort food

By Bas-Si10 |

It is nice when the food at an ethnic restaurant reflects that ethnicity. The food (and service) at Bangkok Dee , which translates to Good Bangkok, is just that. The dishes are legit Thai but if, like me, you like your Thai food spicy like the Thais, be sure to tell them, as they cook for US tastes. The melding of flavors is delicious, and the portions are generous. The bill won't be painful. The service is attentive and pleasant without being obtrusive.

Improved from last visit

By DoctorRandy |

Fish cakes were very good, as were the dumplings. The egg rolls need more flavor. Thai Basil Shrimp was tasty and fresh tasting. The Thai Basil Eggplant was excellent. Service was excellent.

Too salty and food was cold

By G G |

Ordered a few things for lunch. They were all so salty that we had to keep drinking our water to get the taste out of our mouths. Soup came stone cold. Shrimp & chicken basil came with 3-4 small shrimps, rest is veggies so it’s pricey for the $12.45 price. Food is not authentic Thai. I can’t figure out the rave reviews here when there’s much better alternatives out there!
