We popped in for a drink and something to each; decided on nachos. The nachos were the best I've had but the meat was confusing. Then we found out it's a totally vegan place and I had my first mezcal. The staff was wonderful.

We arrived for our reservation about 40 minutes early, and they were still able to seat us right away. La Preferida (jalapeno beet margarita) was delicious. Buffalo cauliflower tacos were amazing... We also had the street corn. This was one ear of corn sliced in three pieces. It was ok tasting, but WAYYY too much cilantro- we were picking it out of our teeth the rest of the night because it was coated. We also had the potatoes (kind of a weird sauce and I love all the things it was made with... can't quite pinpoint the flavor though) and the guacamole (good). Overall a good spot.

Been wanting to go here for months and finally did. Hip atmosphere although a bit tight. The food was delicious. Many appealing intend on the menu along with a good cocktail and wine selection. We had the harvest guacamole with avocado squash sundried tomatoes...amazing!! We also shared the cauliflower taco. Also really delicious. We will be back. Love Phillys great selection of vegan restaurants and this is one of the best.

My Vegan daughter was in from Hawaii. After a quick open table search for Philadelphia, I only had a short list of available restaurants from which to choose. We decided upon Bar Bombon just off of Rittenhouse Square on 18th. It was the perfect choice for our dinner. Bar Bombon is a Latin Vegan Tapas style restaurant mad with only 'plant-based ingredients'. [They have a wonderful bar as well where you can find a vast assortment of plant-based drinks including my favorites: tequilas, mezcals and rums]. I digress. The meal was very very good and it was prepared in a way where I did not miss the ingredients of meat or fish. We both loved the Peruvian Yucca. The Yuca were very lighty fried and dressed in a delicious coating. I couldn't tell you what it was but it enhanced the Yucca and had a modest zing of spice. One of the standouts for me were their Jalapeno Rellenos. While these two rellenos were also deep fried in a very light batter they stay with the peppers are you cut into them to then find a nice mix of faux meat and cheese combination. I really enjoyed their Poblano Slider. Two mini burgers with a roasted pablanos on a mini bun. It too was quite good. Mia loved her Buffalo Cauliflower Taco. We also ordered their Guacamole. It was served with a combination of 'chips' that included plantains and other root vegetables in addition to the typical corn chip. Yum. Please do not skip dessert! We had their Coconut... [cannot remember what its called] and it was really outstanding. Thats all I have for you this morning. make your reservation and visit the chefs and staff at Bar Bombon. Its a wonderful blend of authenticy, quality flavor and fun!

Stopped for a drink and a quick bite. Excellent guacamole and chips. The buffalo cauliflower taco was very unusual but tasty, too. Service was good, as were the cocktails. Small with some outdoor seating in the alleyway.

My husband and I are carnivores, our adult daughters have been vegetarians for 10+ years… so when they suggested this vegan restaurant we approached the meal with some skepticism. 😉 We were very pleasantly surprised! The Philly “cheesesteak” empanadas with really yummy spicy ketchup were delicious- no hint of being vegan. We also ordered nachos for the table, which were also tasty but a bit tricky to eat as they were piled so high! The buffalo cauliflower tacos, blackened fajita tacos, and the chorizo burger were all very good. The burger should be served with the spicy ketchup, but came with amazing skinny shoestring fries - had to order more if those for everyone to share, they were that good!! Cocktails were also delicious, so everyone left satisfied and happy! Overall a great evening!

A group of six, mostly carnivores went to Bar Bombon for dinner, and ordered about ten or twelve different small plates. The place is small and very lively. With few exceptions, the dishes were tasty and creative, and large enough for all six to have at least one good-sized bite. We loved the street corn, empanadas, and roasted Brussels, and were only disappointed by the veggie Spanish meatball. And the drinks, did I mention the drinks? Really great and cheap, as was the dinner. With a couple drinks per person, I think we spent less than $25 each.

The food here is amazing. My son and I are vegetarian and loved all of the dishes and my husband who is not vegetarian also loved the food. They were super sweet to my dog too and bought him out water. I ate here with my dog and then came back with my family because it was so good.

We, a party of three went to this restaurant on September 4 at around 2:30 pm. The restaurant is small with a bar at the front and then some seating at the back. We were seated right away. We did not have any reservation. We were told that the restaurant only about a week before. The service was friendly and attentive. We had : Guacamole Fresco $12.00 La Classica (Margarita drink) $10.00 Chicken Taco $14.00 ( This is vegan place, though named chicken it was seitan) Tofu Taco $ 14.50 Vegetal Taco $13.50 The food was quite delicious. I walked into it with knowing that it was all vegetarian. The check for three with tax and was $82.00.

We celebrated my husbands birthday here last night. We made reservations about 5 days in advance. We showed up about 20min early but were seated immediately. The place was busy but not too loud. The nachos, empanadas and tacos were delicious. The classic margarita was great as well. Our server was so sweet and gave us great recommendations to see in town and where to have drinks after dinner. It was so nice to have such great service our first time in Philly. Will definitely go back again soon!

Sensational food. Buffalo cauliflower tacos ❤️. I ordered take out but the restaurant looks like a nice place to eat. Many good options

Great service. We showed up early for a reservation and we were seated and waited on immediately. Super good food...I'm not a vegetarian and I couldn't even tell it was all plant-based! Unfortunately, it was really hot inside. All windows and doors opened up and there seemed to be no air conditioning. There were only ceiling fans going, one of which was doing this sort of stop-and-go thing. We were eating hot food, too. If you're okay with this sort of thing, then go for it! Otherwise, I'd recommend going from September - May.

My wife and I went to Bar Bom bon last week. The atmosphere was great as it was lively and energetic. We enjoyed the music and decor. The restaurant is "snug" but works well. The Latin flare to a plant based (vegan) restaurant is a great concept. The food was really good but has potential to be even better. The 2 salsas we tried lacked seasoning and so did the empanadas. Not what I was expecting from a Latin restaurant. However, the tacos and drinks were delicious. My wife really enjoyed her Buffalo Cauliflower Taco. The textures of the tacos were spot on, I was impressed ( I ordered the fish tacos). I also ordered a "Painkiller" drink and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a 2nd. I really needed it because I was not happy: My wife and I had arrived 20-25 minutes before our reservation. We checked in with the hostess, there were tables available and the hostess told us our table was not ready. We were not bothered until the couple behind us, who did Not have a reservation, was seated by the same hostess, as soon as we turned our back! REALLY!!! I confronted the hostess and she sat us promptly at one of the other OPEN tables. I was ready to walkout but held my cool. We are not returning in the near future but we will give them a 2nd chance (since the tacos and drinks were really good).

Everything I've tasted here was delicious. Great vibe and staff. If you're trying to convince someone to come here who is put off by the idea of vegan cuisine, there are dishes (meatballs, cubano sandwich) that present as familiar. Frankly, everything is so good, it shouldn't matter.

Right off bat, I have to say I was blown away by the food. Being Cuban and seeing vegan versions of Cuban dishes on the menu, I was more than skeptical. After one bite of the empanadas, I no longer was. Then the yucca came out and the black beans - and before I knew it, I was transported back to my childhood. I'm no stranger to vegan cuisine and know enough to go into any vegan meal with an open mind when it comes to mock meals, but I have to say this was some of the best. I was with a group of half meat eaters and half vegan/open minded foodies, and the meat eaters were blown away by the flavors and texture of the food they were eating. When it came time for dessert, the tres leches was a convincing alternative to the real deal. And its presentation? Superb! I will definitely be going back to this place the next time I'm in Philly.

All plant-based but hearty and delicious. Try the corn enchilada. So good but enough to split. Tortilla soup was terrific. (Ask for a smaller cup size not listed on menu). That alone is a perfect lunch. Food did come out at more than a leisurely pace. I do not know I found that is the norm but best not to be in a hurry. Recommend highly.

Our daughter who lives in Philly took us to this delightful restaurant. I am still a meat eater and was a bit leery at first. But once I started eating, the experience was just fantastic. Very cleverly created cuisine which was complete and delicious. A most pleasant experience. The young lady who waited on us was very helpful. Will definitely visit again.

If you are looking for reasonably priced upscale vegan food Bar Bombon is your place. The food is delicious and even your meat eating friends should come away happy. They serve only the finest tequilas and Mezcals if you're into those drinks. I really enjoyed my experience for dinner.

I never thought a vegan restaurant would be so amazing! Everything you ate was impeccably presented and the taste were beyond all expectations! You would never would have thought that tastes could be brought out in vegan food!

If you are not vegan this place is hard to digest. The menu is fun and eclectic! We had beetroot habanero margarita and a Mai tai. The drinks were ok. We orders the entire menu our favorite was the plantain. We also liked veggie burger. It's really small portions and the cost is expensive. The settings are fun and very cozy. Please make reservations! Our server Mike was sweet and fun and very accommodating !

Loved our first experience here from the moment we walked through the door. They have a very friendly, attentive & knowledgeable staff. We stopped in for drinks and some snacks but based on what we had, we will definitely be returning. Tasted the hearts of palm ceviche, guacamole + chips, and although I didn’t taste the Philly “steak” empanadas they were a huge hit with our party. The drinks are great, too!! Standout favorite was Smoking Darts—tequila blanco, white rum, creme de violette + rose water. Besides the wonderful flavor, it’s a beautiful shade a purple. Great place to go, vegan or not.

Came here during happy hour to try out a bunch of different items they have. I really was blown away, everything I tried was wonderful. From the nachos, Spanish fries, buffalo califlower tacos, even the Spanish rice & beans.. the dessert was mhmmmm! Had the tres leche cake & the coconut custard w passion fruit film :)

The food is very good. Great vegan options. The food was plated beautifully. The service was excellent. We "cleaned our plates".

This place is amazing. Visited with friend and we had wonderful food and yummy cocktails. The food is sharing style and for two I would recommend three to four dishes. The Brussels sprouts and the cauliflower taco was especially good. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy. Would recommend to everyone who loves good food that you will not get everywhere.

The staff was very attentive--someone stopped by our table every few minutes, it felt like. (That's actually a little more service than I prefer, but better more than less.) The food is inventive and not your average fair, and I was really pleased at all the meatless possibilities. That said, I didn't love the flavor combinations and felt I paid rather a lot for what I did get.

This restaurant has a varied menu that exceeds expectations. The sweet plantains and the yuca fries were amazing! Absolutely loved the cilantro and caper seasonings on the yuca fries...they were phenomenal. We sat outside the restaurant in the little booths on the street which made us feel more comfortable dining during COVID. Service was prompt and food was delicious!

Philly is in the midst of an amazing vegan revival, Bar Bombon adds to the incredible scene. This adorable restaurant has a friendly waitstaff, outdoor seating when warm, delicious drinks, and very tasty food. Their brunch menu is also quite good. One of my favorite options for brunch, lunch, or dinner.

When choosing a lunch spot for a vegan friend to join me I’ve found this the very best. They have a $15 three course lunch but you must request the menu as they never bring it requested Excellent choices attractively prepared and friendly service

I loved it here. It has a convenient location and is next door to another vegan place! Their Cubano chicken was pretty good, but not great. It was a little dry for my liking. However, their buffalo cauliflower tacos were the best. Would come back for the tacos drinks and to sample other items on their menu.

We had a terrific experience at Bar Bombon during Happy Hour one Monday evening. From soup to nuts, it was all wonderful. Bar Bombon is serves all plant based menu items largely influenced by Puerto Rican cuisine. The spices are all on point, and here are some of the dishes I highly recommend. First, definitely order the nachos (they are less expensive from 3-6pm weekdays). Everything loaded on here is fresh, especially the hefty dose of guacamole. Another perfect sharing dish would be the chips and 'queso cheese' blended perfectly with vegetables and nutritional yeast. It's garlic-y and creamy, and the whole table loved it. I also really loved the Hearts of Palms ceviche, tortilla soup and cheesesteak empanadas. We all enjoyed the house margaritas too, but I especially loved my Preferida Margarita, which was a classic margarita with beet juice and jalapeno. Amazing! We followed our meals with the best Tres Leche cake I've ever had, loaded with coconut. They proudly serve Stumptown coffee as well, which is how we ended our meal. I certainly recommend making reservations, as it's a small space. Enjoy!

I was skeptical of an all vegan restaurant but going with friends. I'm flexible. I was very pleased. All food is plant based, I'll be back. Reservations needed. It's a tapas type place. For tacos, you get three. Cubano slider - two. Food comes out pretty much all at once. So, I would recommend, order initially, see how hungry you are and then order more. I'll be back.

Ate here during the weekend of the Pope's visit. I had my eye on this place for awhile and thought it was a cute mexican restaurant. It wasn't until I sat down and studied the menu that I realized it is a vegan mexican restaurant. The waitress told me they intentionally downplay the vegan aspect because they want people to come for the favors. While I was pleasantly surprised, other diners were confused and one table left due to this. Unlike other trendy vegan restaurants, this one has good sized portions. The " fish" tacos I ordered were excellent and I loved the accompanying picked veggies and ample rice and beans. If you are on a paleo diet this is probably not for you. For all others the favors are wonderful and the menu has a wide range of choices. The wine I oreded was very good and not overpriced.

Everything we had was delicious. We really enjoyed the Yuca and tacos. Wonderful service and friendly staff.

Our family of six ate here on Christmas Eve. One vegan, one vegetarian and four others. There was a little scepticism that it would be enough food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal and was very satisfied! We had twelve dishes for the six of us. We especially enjoyed the cauliflower tacos and the huarache. Our waiter Andrew was very helpful!

Visited twice. Both times food wasn't exceptionally tasty. Sloppy Joe wasn't the best that I have had. Frozen margaritas were excellent.

This place was such a great find! It's very tiny but still comfortable and welcoming. The food is plant-based and a good option for people who have to eat gluten-free. The margaritas are fantastic! The service was excellent and, even though it was crowded when we got there, we didn't feel rushed at all. Highly recommend.

I am a vegetarian and tried this place while visiting Philadelphia. I had the tacos and soup. The food was good but really spicy!! The spice almost overpowered the flavor - the flavor was good and it was hard to believe it was vegan.

A coworker and I ate here while in Philly for the week and it did not disappoint. Make sure to make a reservation. We are outside and had the Nachos, Impossible Tacos and Buffalo Cauliflower tacos. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was great as well and fast. Next time in town I will definitely eat here again. Great Vegan spot!

The quality of the food and drinks exceeded all of our expectations. The service was great too - our waiter was happy and friendly, and he seemed excited to share everything he knew about the food. DELICIOUS. Best margaritas I've ever had. Best vegan burger and fries I've ever had. You have to get the burger!

OK, I come from the UK where there are very few vegan restaurants. But I have visited several in the US. This was the BEST! I had a great waitress who recommended tapas dishes to me for lunch. They were exquisite. It brought joy to my vegan palate. I just did a search on google maps for "vegan near me" and this restaurant came up. I had no idea the whole menu was vegan. I was in heaven.

I have been getting to Bar Bombón each time I've come into Philadelphia since they opened up in August, and I have absolutely enjoyed everything I have had here! I have brought my coworkers here, and they have all absolutely loved the food here -- including one who strongly believed that they must have meat! :) I do have one complaint about Bar Bombón -- there are just way too yummy items on the menu! When I come up to Philly, I can't go anyplace else to eat anymore! And even then, I don't get to enjoy all of my favorites dishes at Bar Bombón when I'm in town! If I had to pick one absolutely favorite dish, it would be the Enchiladas de Pollo (enjoying that as I write this review -- do you know how hard it is to write this and not just focus on eating that?). The Enchiladas de Pollo was on the printed menu when Bar Bombón opened, but they weren't serving it because they were working on perfecting it. Let me assure you it was well worth the wait! If you want to be blown away, this is the one dish you must have! Another favorite is the Cubano Club sandwich. Before I had it, I thought - a sandwich? I'm not big bread person. But on my goodness!!! The bread was just right, somewhat tender, not tough, not too much. And the flavors inside, I was sold! Another favorite was el Taco Macho -- that was the taco of the day yesterday! But all of the tacos I have had here have been just fantastic! Even the guacamole is out of this world great! The first time, I had the Guacamole Fresco because I was scared that the Guacamole Picante would be too hot (it has habanero peppers). But it is just right - there is flavor, not too much heat, so you get to enjoy the flavors from the avocado! I have only had one salad - the Quinoa Aztec, and it was wonderful! But my stomach is only so big, and with all of the amazing dishes on the menu, it sadly hasn't gotten attention after my first visit to Bar Bombón. Even the Pico del Gallo is wonderfully executed, as is the Tortilla y Salsa! The dessert. That's all you have to say. They'll know what you're talking about -- the Tres Leches! I'm sorry - words fail me when I think about how to describe when you take a bite. You will just have to experience it for yourself. Then you won't need words - you'll know what I mean. Bar Bombón is owned by the file folks who brought us HipCityVeg and Charlie was a Sinner! Very thankful for having such delicious vegan dining options in Philly!

Met some old friends for dinner and they suggested this hip Rittenhouse Square all vegetarian joint. For appetizers the guacamole was great and the empanadas one vegetarian chorizo and then other one mushroom were awesome. The entrees were just as good with some great favors. The beans are rice were not the standard fair and I absolutely loved them. For a low key, chill dinner with great food and a hip crowd come here for dinner and your date will have a good time even if they aren't vegetarians.

The food was sooooo good. I took my mother (who is vegan) here to celebrate her birthday. As an omnivore, I figured I would find much to eat and so I eat before going out. Boy was I wrong! We ordered the specialty cocktail which was some sort of sangria with bourbon which I didn’t care for but my mother loved. The menu consists mostly oh small plates. She ordered a Cubano, a buffalo cauliflower taco, and plantains. It looked so good that I shared it all with her. Everything was very fresh & tasty. I’m not a huge fan of meat substitute but the “chicken” on the Cubans was great!! The place is very small but cute. We got a table outside that was very cute even though it was in an alley. I would definitely recommend this place for vegans, vegetarian, and omnivores.

Someone recommended this place to me and pitched it as "Cuban vegetarian." I was hooked--the flavors of Cuban food married with healthy vegetarian food, and a skillful chef? How could you go wrong? I was not disapponted. I had the "meatballs" in a taco, along with the tomato/avocado salad. Both were wonderfully done--a nice blend of spice & herb, not overpowering but very interesting and delicious. THe taco shells were very soft. The staff were exceptional. It was a great meal and good experience.

Rainy Tuesday night - the spouse and I were able to grab a table at 7pm. I imagine drier nights and weekends require a reservation; this seems to be the place to be. Our visit was deliberate as we're vegan/vegetarians. Staff was very friendly, service was prompt. The nachos were delightful, and the cauliflower tacos and fajita tacos were out of this world. Seriously, the best vegan tacos I've ever had. Full stop. We considered ordering a second round of tacos, but they would have had to wheel us out. Visit Bar Bombon. Wait for a table if you have to. This place does not disappoint.

The food was good. It was a vegan Mexican place . Ordered cauliflower tacos it was good. Started ordered the guacamole. Went to the place twice.

Ate here Sunday for a cousin reunion with 17 people. The staff went beyond normal efforts to accommodate us. This included emails, phone calls, and blocking out a large part of the restaurant. In addition, they let us order from the ala-carte menu which meant extra work for the staff and the cooks. Everyone was pleasant, cordial and honestly friendly-even designing dishes that met the whims of my 13 year old nephew. The food was tasty with interesting seasonings, and portions were ample for our late lunch. I enjoyed the the vegatl tacos , black beans and rice. All the seasonings were interesting. For 17 of my relatives, including vegans, seniors and picky teens- everyone was happy. It was great dining with all of them.

This place was such a delight. It's small so get a reservation. It's charming and our server was so nice and helpful. Our group of friends shared guacamole and chips and plantains to start, then we got our own tacos for our main dish. The buffalo cauliflower tacos were FANTASTIC. I ordered mine with sauce on the side because I don't like really spicy food, and it was a great choice, because I could control the level of spice. I seriously loved the tacos. I am not a vegan and didn't miss anything from this menu. It was so much fun and a great dinner out with friends.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Love the buffalo tacos and cubano sliders with plantains ❤️ the non vegan loved the food and wants to go tomorrow again !

I really wanted to love this place but I just couldn't. After exploring their menu online this place looked great. Sadly it is overpriced and small portions. Plus the food wasn't anything that I would say I had to have again. PROS: ~The queso dip & mushroom ceviche was delicious! ~They offer outdoor seating during Covid. NEG: ~Their "spicy" pickles was a small dish of flavorless pickles. ~I ordered one of their $20 hot chocolates which was supposed to come with marshmallows (which is why I ordered the hot chocolate drink) and they told me they were out after they delivered the drink. Plus its supposed to come with a blanket and they never gave it to me I had to ask for it as we were about to leave. ~The server was pretty much non existent our whole time there. We had to keep calling them over. I would suggest looking at another place such as black bird if you are visiting Philly!

I just stopped by to have a snack and a drink. Didn't expect much but I got the best meatballs and margaritas that I've had in a long time! The staff is really nice and the atmosphere is great! 10/10 and I would visit the bar again!!

Everything was amazing! Stopped in after arriving at the Philly airport at 8:30 pm and decided to pop in and so glad we did! Open til 10pm. Food and service were superb! Will def be back for amazing plant based food! Tasty margarita! Great guacamole! The cauliflower tacos were very good!!

The food was delicious! What a wonderful vegan option with amazing healthy food that tasted wonderful. Our kids devoured everything

A cozy vibrant bar/cafe with exotic cocktails and Mexican vegan menu that takes time to decipher. While food is very good, it is also extremely spicy, which was somewhat distracting for this usually adventuresome gourmand.

We eat meat. Lots of it. Accidentally wound up eating here and so glad we did. AMAZING FOOD! Street corn is to die for, but luckily no animals did!

Small bar/restaurant, not a huge menu but very good. You could bring non-vegan friends here. Roasted Brussels sprouts were excellent, but everything we had was good. Service was a little uneven, but not awful. (It was a Saturday night and the place was packed.) A nicer option than HipCity Vege but not so pricey as Vedge. Our dinner for three (one cocktail) ran around $80 and we ordered too much food. One suggestion: mainly tapas style but some items are a full size serving. Ask when ordering. Also, it tends to be noisy.

Wife and I planned a day trip to Philly and decided this is where we were going to eat ahead of coming. We didn't have a reservation as it was Thursday for lunch, but had we arrived 20 minutes later we would have been waiting. So even if you don't think you'll need one, call ahead. The place is adorable, and small, hence the need for a reso. Now for the food- IT. WAS. DE-LI-CIOUS. Buffalo Cauliflower Tacos hit the spot so hard I nearly fell out of my chair. Nachos were tasty, but eat 'em fast, they got a lil soggy near the end. They made a mistake and we ended up with a half of their Cuban Sandwich and WOAH! The texture was mind blowing and it was so effing tasty. Caeser was mustard heavy, so if you don't like mustard (like me) avoid it, but if you do like mustard (like my wife) prepare to inhale. Also tasted the Empanada, which took me back. All in all, top marks. I just wish I lived closer. But trust, I'll be taking the hour and a half trip out again to try more menu options.

We just love Philly. Not enough to move there and pay the $$$$$$ cost of living, but as new Pittsburghers, we don't mind the train/drive. On our third trip to the City last weekend we made our usual rounds to all the Vegan spots we love. One in particular that is a favourite is Bar Bombon as we had so much fun there on our last trip we actually got engaged over dinner at the little cozy table near the back. We usually come here two times in a 3-4 day trip. Once for dinner and cocktails and once for brunch. The quality of the food has not changed over the last couple of years though, sadly, the staff have. What overshadowed an otherwise great meal here was the fact that the staff were generally clueless about the menu (doesn't change) as well as about cocktails. I don't fault them for not having an astute mixologist on site however, a spanish/mexcian coffee isn't hard to do and instead of bumbling and trying to get us to drink black espresso with tequila...they could have just googled it. Le Sigh. Though the staff were kind of "ugh" the food and environment is still great...they are really fast with the food so you may feel kind of rushed to eat and get out. We pace ourselves and order a dish at at time to extend the time in the space...otherwise you could seriously be in and out in 40 minutes which, in some cases is perfect. Give them a try ... the location is also great in the summer, windows open and you're literally a stones throw from the beautiful and bustling Rittenhouse Park & Walnut street shops.

Yoooooo! Everything was sooo freakin’ delicious! I heard about and read reviews about the cauliflower tacos and was thinking “oh, I’ve had cauliflower tacos before; these will be the same.” So not! Best damn buffalo cauliflower tacos I’ve ever had! I went during happy hour; which, at the current moment in time is Monday-Friday 3pm-6pm. My intention was to just same 2 items on the happy hour list, but after having 1 cauliflower taco and 1 poblano slider, I order another of both. I mean, heck, they were $5/$5.50! That slider was so bomb! I also had the Puerto Rico punch cocktail, which apparently changes, so no set flavor, today it was Papaya Pineapple punch. The punch could have used more alcohol, but the flavor was good. I highly recommend Bar Bombón, I know, I know, who am I, right? Lol someone who had a great experience. I recommend happy hour even more *wink wink*! BTW, I was solo, and sat at the bar and met 2 cool solo people there, so no fear, the people dining here are lovely too.

For those of you who just watched a vegan documentary and are now in the process of transitioning your entire culinary lives to a plant based lifestyle based on an hour and a half lecture with cool graphics and celebrities, this place is great! The food tastes incredible and you won't even question why you threw out $200 worth of groceries you bought last week. For those diners already plant based, this restaurant is also great for you because the food is really tasty and won't make you feel like you're selling out to these corporate overlords making money on your health and environmental dining decision.. For everyone else this place is also also great because again, the food is really good. Try the fajita and buffalo cauliflower tacos. 5 stars.

Real happening spot near Rittenhouse Square. Small so you need reservations. The non—meat vegetarian options these days are amazing.

Fresh and hot pancakes off the grill is a treat that I have not indulged in for awhile. Bonbon did not disappoint. Presentation, taste, ambience- all hit the mark. Service was professional and without delay. Handmade wall tiles and wooden chairs complete the look and feel of this cozy spot!

A small restaurant but so cute and cozy! My husband and I shared "cheese" fries and brussels sprouts. You would not even know the "cheese" wasn't cheese. We also both had the buffalo cauliflower tacos, just delicious. Every single thing we ate was just so so good. My husband is a meat eater but even he said "who needs meat with this meal?" You must visit Bar Bombon - food and service are just outstanding!

Great food, wonderful atmosphere and the best cocktails. Everything on the menu is vegan! We have eaten here several times, most recently for brunch on a Saturday. We sat at the bar and had a nice conversation with the bartender. Very cool vibe with the Cubano music. Prices are a little high because it's in Rittenhouse Square, which is a trendy neighborhood. People love the buffalo cauliflower bites and the margaritas. Enjoy!

My husband and I both agreed...this was the best food we had in Philly!!! I’m vegan and he is a carnivore. He said it was so good he didn’t miss the meat at all. We had the empanadas, cauliflower tacos, nachos, cubano sandwich & the tres leches cake. All of it was delicious with the empanadas being our favorite.

I was traveling to Philadelphia and decided to google vegetarian / vegan restaurants close to me and found this one! Once I entered, I was greeted immediately by the bartender who provided a brief but nice overview of the restaurant and it’s inspiration. Was persuaded to try the lunch combo, where you can try a little of everything for about $16! Decided to go for it by ordering the guacamole, friend sweet plantains, & the cauliflower taco! WOW! What a wholesome and good meal... I was so happy with the service and the taste of the food!! I would definitely recommend for all my vegetarian lovers out there!!

I came here for brunch with a friend. I got the old-fashioned pancakes, which tasted exactly like the ones I would have as a kid. My friend got the Mexican breakfast flatbread. Apparently, it lacked flavor, which is odd considering this restaurant is supposed to specialize in more international foods. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and drink specials. And prices were very reasonable! I left with a very full stomach.

Cute restaurant is very homy and offers outside seating. Unfortunately, the food is expensive and not super flavorful. I had high hopes given our dining and imbibing luck at her other place, Charlie Was a Sinner. Go to vedge or V instead for better food at a better price point.

Cauliflower tacos, tortilla soup and tostones were great. The servers was nice and helpful with the menu. Savory salsa and nice bar menu

Excellent place to eat and drink near Rittenhouse Square. The drinks at the bar are good and well made, the margaritas are heavenly. Had Tacos and guacamole. Would highly recommend. Nice to have non animal protein so well made.

Had lunch here and ordered the Cubano Club. Taste was ok but slice of chicken was ridiculously small. Looking at other tables all food portions small. Wouldn't return.

Great vegan place however we are vegan (plant based) with no oils or fats. When we sat down and explained it to our waitress it threw her for a loop but the chef came out and was overly helpful. Bent over backwards for us and made a 4 course dinner from scratch with no oil or fats. It was very good on such short notice. Looking at the tables around us what they were having it looked and smelled very good. We really appreciated the extra effort they put forward.

This place is great. I had dinner here with two omnivores and a vegetarian; I was the only vegan. However, everyone had a great meal . The food here is delicious, portioned just right, and (in my experience at least) delivered to the table quickly. This is Puerto Rican food in a casual, friendly yet still somewhat upscale environment. We enjoyed a selection of tacos and a burrito. Fabulous flavors and textures. It doesn't hurt that there is a full bar and excellent , creative drinks based on fresh juices as well. The space is small and can feel crowded but it's charming and warm. I can't wait to come back.

I did a quick search for vegan restaurants in Philadelphia when I arrived on a Sunday night, discovered Bar Bombon was near the hotel I was staying and hurried off. When I arrived there, I sat at the bar and started studying the menu. I didn't see anything obviously vegan and figured I'd made a mistake. I was thinking maybe I should leave, but I asked the bartender if a particular dish was vegan and she told me everything is plant based. Yes, I was thrown off by the "pescado" and "carne" on the menu :-) But apparently these were plant based versions thankfully. I felt I had a genuine Latin bistro experience with cool and hip ambiance. I love my granola vegan roots, but there was something magical about this place not feeling like "the vegan restaurant." The bartender was friendly and quickly developed a rapport with the people at the bar. Everyone seemed really happy even the people who weren't vegan and surprised when told the menu was plant-based. Check it out. ¡Buen provecho!

We didn’t realize it was a plant based restaurant when we went in to sit at the bar. We had wonderfully prepared mojitos and ordered the nachos. The bartender asked if we had food allergies and let us know that they were a plant based restaurant. It took us a bit to figure it out because we ordered the nachos with “chorizo”. Blame it on the drinks we had earlier in the day that we were slow on the uptake. Regardless the nachos were excellent. We then ordered the “chorizo” empanadas and they were just as good. Definitely recommend this place.

The atmosphere was fun and decorative. Service was great and the food was delicious. Would come back again if I'm in town!

I should begin by stating that we are not vegan and have not had great experiences with vegan food. We passed by this place and thought it looked attractive, so we went in. Only when the waiter came and warned us did we realize this was a vegan restaurant. But it had a nice vibe so we decided to give it a try. The bar offerings are first of all quite good. There was a margarita option with beet juice and a little kick from habanero chiles. But especially good was a mescal based drink with pineapple (and several other ingredients that I've forgotten). Smoky nice mescal is still not easy to find in the US, and this one, concocted into a tasty cocktail, was a good one For us the food would have been better if it didn't try to imitate non-vegan proteins. So when we ordered plantains stuffed with "beef" (that's exactly how the describe it on the menu), we didn't know what we'd get. It seemed to be soy - I think we were hoping for some something made from mushrooms or cashews. Anyway it was decent - with a nice adobo like juice. The habanero guacamole was very good. Some other dishes looked interesting, but why did they have to almost all include imitation beef, chicken or fish? Why not just yuca, mushrooms, almonds, quinoa, or whatever. But everything is healthy! Anyway, the food was good. The drinks great. The service friendly and helpful. The atmosphere lively and pleasant. Definite destination for vegans. Worth a try for others.

I got take-away as it was raining and I was dining alone. I ordered the Batida at the bar while waiting for my food. It was thick and creamy and very delicious. I ordered the yucca fries (very good!) and the enchiladas de pollo as recommended by the server. I didn't LOVE the enchiladas, but they were good. The big "complaint" I had was the container they used for the enchiladas started to fall apart as I was eating my food. the heat and the sauce I guess caused the container to start to disintegrate. It's a minor complaint, but worth noting if you are getting take away. everything is vegan, so it's awesome to be able to look at a whole menu and just order.

We ordered fajita tacos and nachos, and both were wonderful. The service was spectacular. Definitely recommend this place.

Let me start off by saying I’m omnivorous to carnivorous, but my wife wants me to branch out. I saw the reviews and thought she would be impressed if I took her here. From the beet habenero margarita, to the palm ceviche, followed by a Philadelphia cheesesteak empanada to a Cuban slider we were blown away. Wouldn’t think everything was plant based and delicious! Will definitely come back here.

The people are so nice here and welcoming. Very small but super cute atmosphere. You can eat outside and its half a block from Rittenhouse Sqaure. All of the taco's are pretty amazing. The deserts are delish. I would go with the Tres Leche. I dont think I have had a bad meal here yet.

Our experience at this establishment was fantastic. The ambience is great for people who want to share a quiet meal with loved ones or some close friends. The food was amazing. The chef is extremely skilled. I was a little apprehensive about going to a place that did not offer any meat choices but my girlfriend really wanted to try this place because she is a vegetarian and oftentimes has very little to choose from. This was one of the only times we've ever eaten out where she could choose anything on the menu. I was very impressed my meal and Definitely would recommend this to anyone regardless of their fondness of eating meat.

I am vegetarian, not vegan. This is a vegan restaurant my omnivore husband and I ate in a few years ago for dinner. Food was great, so we returned for Sunday brunch. We shared a breakfast sandwich and a Cubano, both very good. We had no reservations so had to eat at the bar, but service was friendly and efficient. I will definitely go again when I have the opportunity.

My husband and I had never tried Vegan before so we said why not. Staff so nice and knowledgeable. They never seem to tire of my many questions! They steered us to the best things to eat. Food delicious! We had sweet plantains and fish and brussell sprout tacos. The drinks were made to perfection!

We went on a Friday night and the place was packed. Very loud, but fun and lively. Drinks were good, food was mixed but generally quite good. I thought it was a little overpriced, but for two vegetarians it was a great choice.

Bar Bombon was suggested to me by a local bartender at "Charlie was a Sinner" which happens to be under the same ownership. Both concepts and locations are committed to being entirely plant based and have extensive and very well executed menus. However, I have to say that Bombon his definitely my favorite eatery I've visited since being in Philly. Every item on the menu sounds so tantalizing that the only downside is trying to narrow it down to make selections. The cuisine is Latin inspired and the flavor profiles are exploding with layers of depth and complexity. To have found this place was truly a fulfilling and reassuring reminder that plant based cuisine is the FUTURE. The craft cocktail program at Bombon is primarily and rightfully focused on tequila and mezcal spirits with all ends of the cocktail spectrum available from sour to spirit forward and showcases many innovative and interesting flavor contrasts and combinations. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and concept itself and it made for a complete and perfect experience the first time around. This may be the only spot I hit twice before flying home!

Went for brunch with my meat eating husband and my vegetarian friends and everyone loved it! Great craft cocktails and amazing potatoes!

We enjoyed a lovely vegan brunch here. The "eggs" were very well prepared and the French Toast delicious. We sat outside and watched the Rittenhouse Square crowd walk by. Do not let the vegan cuisine scare you off. We are carnivores and still enjoyed the meal. Fresh squeezed juice was also good...although we did not care for the coffee.

We were staying near here, and thought it looked like a cute place. The outdoor has lights strung over head and inside is nice as well. But in the end the food was the Wow! of the night! The queso was delicious. The meatballs excellent.. Staff were nice as could be. Not to mention the outstanding grapefruit Margaritas!

After so many trips to Puerto Rico stuck eating rice and beans, it’s refreshing for a vegetarian to be able to look at the whole menu and not have to worry about accidentally ordering meat. Cuban sandwich? Why not! Okay, it’s a little fancier than Old San Juan, but every bite is worth it.

Amazing restaurants that happens to be veg-friendly. Recommend the Bloody Mary ("Best we've ever had"), the Beet margarita, the Buffalo Cauliflower tacos. The "Cheesesteak empanadas" were delicious but portion was small. Guac was decent but nothing game-changing. Good service and great (heated) outdoor seating.

Delicious and innovative twists with Puerto Rican flavors. Friendly service and charming interior near Rittenhouse Square. Some outside tables. Take a chance on the more unusual plates (the carrots, the broccolini, the romesco...delicious, although the menu is always changing due to seasonal availability.) And the rice and beans and plantains were flavorful yet simple. So many plates can be made gluten-free and they use a separate fryer.

You’ll have to request it but they offer a three course lunch menu for only $15 every day Vegan food but as non vegan I love their cuisine

Wow. It’s all I can say. It’s a small, cozy restaurant. Waitstaff are knowledgeable and accommodating. The cocktails are great, but the food is to DIE for. Took recommendations from my waitress and had the meatballs. Best Vegan meatballs I have had! Served in red sauce with two slices of bread. All waitstaff love it. They tell me they like to eat them cold! Because of Cinco de Mayo they had $5 tacos. Buffalo cauliflower tacos are amazing, but their traditional taco meat/ tacos are really great too! This is fun fun Vegan and destroys my local Vegan food. You will enjoy the creativity here!!

What better way to avoid fog and rain than to duck into Bar Bombón on 18th Street ? Shelter quickly yielded to serendipity as we discovered this great little restaurant by accident, specializing in Puerto Rican cuisine. There is no better way to forget about the fickle nature of weather than with Bombón's signature cocktail, "La Jefa," made with Angry Orchard Cider, apple, ginger, prosecco and strawberry. The restaurant's interpretation of sangria was innovative and easily won us over. Along with the drinks, we also enjoyed : ― chicken empanadas ― Ellenos, i.e., plantains filled with beef, onions and peppers ― guacamole picante, with cilantro, habanero peppers and red onion ― sweet potato salad It's as if someone transplanted a restaurant from downtown Miami and dropped it in Rittenhouse Square. Bombón is undeniably destination dining

The cocktails at this place are amazing. The food is very good and filling. It's plant based which is an added bonus. It is located right off Rittenhouse Square. Our waiter was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.

Great vegan food is often hard to find, but not at Bar Bombon! The entire menu is full of great choices. Our server was exceptional! We had a particularly picky eater among our party of six and she went out of her way to make sure that he had the best possible meal and experience.

The setting is quaint, the service is friendly and efficient but not overly present. The food choices are really cool. They have meat like replacements for some personal favorites like buffalo cauliflower tacos instead of meat. I like how creative their choices are, the combinations they provide and the portions are enough to leave you full without being overly full. Personally, I really LOVE their Mexican Hot Cocoa. Don't miss this one.

WOW! I was blown away by every aspect of this restaurant: food, drinks, atmosphere, service, location...all beyond expectation and extremely memorable.

As an avid meat eater, when I arrived in Philadelphia to meet my friend the first thing I wanted was a Philly Cheesesteak, fries and cheesecake. But when my friend mentioned that he was taking me to a vegan restaurant that serves Latin food I was unsure. My concerns were quickly put to the side when our first meal came out. We tried about 4 different things and each one was absolutely delicious. I would even say that the vegan dessert is in my top 10 of desserts I've eaten around the world (and I eat a lot). If I had to pick one stand out dish, it was the enchiladas. They were divine. You MUST try them when you go. It would be unfair if I didn't give a shout-out to our server, Alison. She is absolutely the best waitress I've ever come across. She knew how to interact with guests well. We asked her for recommendations and she gave them (thanks!). She also came running down the streets to find us when she realised my friend left his wallet in the restaurant. It was a pleasure to meet someone so enthusiastic about her job. Thank you, Alison.

I really loved this little place. I'm not vegan, my friend is, but was delighted by the menu. We had a lot of fun sharing a number of small plates including cauliflower tacos, a really nice salad with avocado and pseudo chicken sliders. There are tiny tables outside that look great for clement weather.

While exploring the Rittenhouse Square district my kids and I came across Bar Bombon and it had something for everyone. My daughter, a vegetarian, was in love with the rustic, street food options - all meat free! My son (not a vegetarian) loved the smoked tempeh Cuban sandwich. I loved it all but particularly enjoyed the beer menu (as it was lunch I never go into the extensive Tequila menu). The black beans and rice has now become a staple in our house with a rich, roasted chili broth and potatoes that is more of a savory stew to spoon over the dirty rice.

Amazing creative vegan food. Flavors were so good! Staff was friendly and helpful. Offered ways to make the meal gluten free, without losing any of the taste. Gluten free empanadas. Yum!

Visiting family when my daughter-law suggested Bar Bonbon a vegan restaurant. We responded with doubtful, but loving sure. We are glad we did. All of the food was excellent, full of flavor and subtlety, and beautiful presentation. Lastly, don't forget to try the cocktails.

We booked here (essential) as we needed a good vegan restaurant for one member of our group. This is all vegan food and I was simply blown away by the taste and the quality. Nothing disappointed - and they make a mean gin and tonic. Would go back again and again

We loved this place. All vegetarian (maybe all vegan) but each item with it's own flair --- so I'm sure even omnivores would like it too. There were some "meatballs" (made of satan maybe?) which were really tasty. Nice service, friendly and efficient but not overbearing. We loved everything we tried, and will be back try the rest.

What a friendly place. Everyone here was so nice. From the minute we got in they went out of their way to ensure we understood the type of restaurant they were. Essentially they are a vegan restaurant which we did not know. We only wanted some drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were great and the nachos were even better. We are not vegans but it did not make a difference. We enjoyed our app and most importantly we enjoyed ourselves. Definitely think we would go back to try other items on their menu.

We were pretty excited to eat at an all vegetarian restaurant since we are from a town that doesn't have many choices anywhere for vegetarians. We had 7 things from the menu, and all were incredible. Our biggest problem was we had the cauliflower tacos 3rd and after that, we compared everything we ate to them!! They were incredible. The fried potatoes were also incredible. Before going here, we had decided against meeting meat-eating friends here thinking they would hate it. This place is so packed with flavor it would be hard to believe everyone couldn't find something they enjoyed if they are a little open-minded.

This cafe offers Latin American inspired vegan fare in a setting that could be Old San Juan or Panama City. We had the arepas, vegetal tacos, and roasted corn. They were served with tasty garnishes and were all quite good - fresh and well-spiced. They also serve an eclectic mix of cocktails.

My daughter-in-law and I happened upon this restaurant while shopping in the area. It is small and unsuspecting from the outside. Don’t be fooled. The menu is great and the service is terrific. We had light snacks and a drink. I had the Brussel sprouts which were fabulous and my daughter-in-law had a salad which was scrumptious. Looking forward to a full dinner here in the very near future.

I booked a large business lunch here for a group of folks with varying dietary restrictions - this is the first restaurant that everyone left happy. One of my pickiest eaters ate so much they skipped dinner they were so full. Service was fantastic and the food was divine. If you're a vegan - this is a MUST while you're in Philly.

Walked in here not realizing that it was vegetarian Mexican - what a find! Friendly service, nice dining room and an interesting menu, even for a carnivore like myself. The "chorizo" tacos were excellent as were the "Philly cheesesteak" empanadas. Drinks were tasty as well. Would definitely return.

This is a no meat Mexican restaurant, so I was skeptical at first. However, everything was delicious and the waitress was super nice. It's a little overpriced, but so is Philly in general

I spent a couple of nights in Philly in March and am still thinking about Bar Bombon. Their vegan nachos and sliders flash through my head multiple times a week. My colleague and I were in heaven with our selection of shared items and the delicious margaritas. This was my second trip to Bar Bambon and I will definitely return next time I am in Philly.
Delicious Latin Vegan Food
The food was amazing. Latin vegan food at its best. Truly recommend drinking La Amour. The yuca fries were yummy. I could eat those everyday.
