Enjoyed a few drinks here sitting at one of the + shaped tables. Very good atmosphere. Service a little slow so could do with more staff during busy times.

The brisket tacos were excellent in soft flour tacos, and their drink, the Burnt Orange, was tangy and citrusy. There are stools and also comfortable couches to choose from. Or you can eat outside on the patio.

When in San Antonio for a convention each year we stay at the Hyatt & love the lobby bar, Bar Rojo. Or, should I say we love Sarah the bartender!! A relaxed atmosphere of hotel patrons and business men & women unwinding after their meetings and conventions. The server named Sarah is fun, creative with her drinks & super friendly! We sat at the bar each afternoon & watched sports on the TV- we happened to be there for the Derby & the whole bar got into it! A nice convenient place off the lobby to unwind. Great drinks. Happy Hour. Good prices. Local beers on tap. Definitely a cool spot at the end of the day at your hotel. Look for Sarah & let her create an off menu drink for you! You won't regret it!

I like Bar Rojo inside the Grand Hyatt hotel for cocktails and small bites. The counter-height tables, shaped like crosses, are unusual, and we had to add stools to our table, otherwise you can really only seat four. A few couches provide another seating option. The menu was small, with more cocktails than food, but the food was actually quite good. I had a Rojo mule and the Buffalo cauliflower "wings", which were very spicy but delicious. The bar can get quite noisy, but the feel is energetic rather than annoying.

friendly bartenders, comfortable seating, nice place to visit with friends, good views of the city, outdoor areas as well, walking distance to riverwalk

This hotel bar is bustling with energy. Internet service so you continue to conduct your business while enjoying a drink. They offer free snacks in the late afternoon. This is a fun place to meet friends with great drinks.

Nice bar, great drinks and very lively. Very crowded due to convention center being attached to the hotel. Service was good and there is also an outdoor seating area.

The most excellent margherita pizza you will ever eat! The very first day we were there my husband I decided to go down to the bar and order drinks and lunch while we chatted about where to start our sightseeing that day. We ordered two beers which were served in cowboy boot-shaped glasses (cool!) and the pizza. We were blown away! The last night we were there we asked the bartender about a drink we had heard of to see if she could make it and she ended up showing us how to make two other drinks that we now enjoy at home. Really friendly bartenders!!

I am sure there were better places if you are looking for cheaper drinks, but this is a nice bar in the hotel with good snacks like yummy nachos.

This bar is a great meet up location. I was here on business and this was a great central location. The wait staff is fabulous and the drinks were good. Priced high.

We were hungry, didn't want to leave the hotel and had already eaten at the restaurant (Ruth's Chris). This bar had a small food menu so we gave it a try. We split the ham & cheese sandwich (yummy) and chicken wings (so-so). We weren't there for the 'bar scene', but it seemed like a great place. Very roomy with seating for just one up to large groups.

This is a bustling, noisy spot... so not the place to go to have a nice conversation or to relax. We stopped in for a quick snack during our convention in the convention center next door. Just shared a pizza, just ok. Service is a bit slow.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio. Bar Rojo is attached at the ground level. After a very long walk to take in the sights around The Alamo, we visited Bar Rojo for refreshments. I had a Classic Mojito. A mojito is a cuban drink with five ingredients: white rum, sugar (traditionally sugar cane juice), lime juice, sparkling water, and mint. Our server was very attentive, kept our glasses full, and provided snacks. It was all very enjoyable.

The Bar Rojo is in the Grand Hyatt, and is a hopping place. Plenty of seating, with good service. A good meeting up place before or after an event. A club like atmosphere. Quite noisy if one wnts to talk and catch up with friends. But worth a visit if you're in the hotel and want a drink and snack. Moderate pricing.

Had Breakfast her twice during my visit and was very Good each time. Hit the bar a couple times and enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was good for both restaurant and bar.

This place is in the Grand Hyatt, so don't expect it to be cheap. However, food was good and service was exceptional. The tables were totally different, you have to experience them.

This is a nice hotel bar. Not to "swanky", kinda casual. Drinks were good, appetizers were pretty good. During the "rush" hour, seats were limited, and the place will remind you of spring break. It was so noisy you had to shout to your table partner to be heard! My head actually hurt after a couple of hours (used a DB Meter on my phone and it read 95DB!). So, a convenient, kinda nice place to hang with friends, but not for a quiet get together with someone.

Great breakfast at this restaurant. Large portion and quick service. Just had eggs and bacon and potatoes and couldn't finish it all.

It may be that I am not a fequent drinker- but I thought 12$ was a bit much for a bloody mary. The had a 1/2 price special- like happy hour. It only incuded a few drinks- it was misleading.

Service was outstanding and very helpfulness! sangria was delightful - light, juicy, refreshing. food was BAD and very limited.

After the end of a long day at a great conference, what a great hotel bar to stop in and have a drink with friends. The bartender knows how to mix a drink and all of the waitresses were very friendly and efficient. Thanks for the hospitality.

Wanted to have a drink on a Saturday afternoon while we waited out the rain, but the bar was closed. We took our business elsewhere.

They have unique tables that can accommodate several people and have plenty of TV's to watch sports. Classy environment and good spirit selection. Our waitress Beth from Chicago was fun and nice.

Was happy to have the option of grabbing a bite at this bar/restaurant, which is located right in the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Antonio. They have a small menu of about 6-8 food items, but the items are very tasty! A good find if you prefer to grab a bite without having to go outside. My only feedback to management is that often it appears that some staff are socializing (texting also) more than tending to their jobs. Visited more than once and this seemed to be the case.

Very nice place for a quick bite or a drink. Very good for hanging out. A large variety of drinks. Comfort food. Really nice after a long day at the convention center.

We had a business meeting and drifted into this bar from the hotel reception. The tables were plentiful and screens gave some sports cover too. Our helper, Dev from Milwaukee, was friendly, prompt and good fun. This is a good bar to meet in and should be considered if you're looking for somewhere centrally situated.

After a busy week we were surprised by the great service Kaitlan provided us. The food bar closed early at 11 and she took it upon herself to order and deliver a pizza to us. Such a treat. Thank you!

A sign was placed outside the bar on Friday night listing all the college football games that would be shown on each of the 5 TVs in the bar. The game I wanted to watch was listed as starting on TV3 at 11:00 a.m. When I went into the bar at 11, none of the TVs were on and there was only 1 person unloading bar glasses. Assuming she would stop and turn on the TVs, I waited 15 minutes before asking why the TVs weren't on. She said the bar was closed(!) and didn't open until noon. I mentioned the sign lists the games being on at 11. She said she didn't know how to get the games turned on but would try. After another 15 minutes she gave up and went back to her work. I asked again and she said she would try to find someone to get the games on the TVs. Finally at noon, a manager came up to me and said the game I wanted couldn't be found and the program listing was an error. I left without ordering anything.

Enjoyed breakfast at the hotel where the staff were friendly and engaging and the food was very good. Also visited for a few late night drinks and the bartenders were mostly very pleasant. They close exactly on time and push you out of the bar quickly at 12:30. It would be nice if they kept it open a little later and allowed patrons to linger to finish their drinks.

This bar was located on the ground floor of the Grand Hyatt hotel, and was decorated in a very modern style with couches to lounge on. I had a chocolate martini that was really good. Large TVs were in the bar playing sports. There was a good crowd there Friday and Saturday night. Nice for a hotel bar.

The best think about this restaurant is it’s location for those staying at the Hyatt or nearby. Food is fine. I came twice and the service was so and so. Seems servers are overwhelmed so it’s just that!! Got burger both times. Okay quality

I went there since it was in the hotel lobby for a quick beer and the bottle of beer was way to expensive!

Was attending a conference at the Grand Hyatt in April. Several in our party would meet to grab a drink. It's a nice bar, layout is well done (bar staff has the ability to view all the patrons inside). Salsa is excellent--loved it. Lots of TVS to watch sports, so I'm not sure if they're going for a sports bar or a hotel bar. Drinks are pricey (but it is attached to the Hyatt, so it is to be expected); wait staff is slow (on more than one occasion, the bar was at 25% capacity and the wait staff were huddled at the end of the bar--you couldn't get their attention if you tried). They did offer evening happy hours Monday-Friday with drink specials at $5.00. One concern that I had was their payment policy. When you give the waitstaff your credit card, they swipe it and tack on an extra 20% without telling you. If you have a card that notifies you when your card is used, you'll see the discrepancy. The waitress said it was 'company policy', yet, when you go to sign your credit card slip, the space for the gratuity is still on there. If you're not careful, you may double tip the waitstaff. When we questioned it, the waitress stuttered and stammered, and then found someone to come and speak to us. However, I've never been to any dining establishment, (bar, etc.) where they overcharge your card to make sure the funds are available when the tip goes through. I mean, seriously, this is the Grand Hyatt! Do you really think we can't pony up the customary tip on a $25.00 bill? AND, if you pay with cash, be sure to count your change. DO NOT ASSUME they give you back the correct amount. Again, when you question wait staff, they're rather terse with their reply. No apologies given.

Loved the quesadilla and pomegranate martinis. Didn't like that the sushi bar closed at 9pm on a weekend.

Stopped in for a drink. Friendly bartender. Nice prices. Modern atmosphere. Not real loud which is nice.

After checking into the hyatt we stopped by Bar Rojo for drinks and small bites. Lots of people working and standing around waiting for something to happen , i guess.Great beers on tap and fun mixed drinks. Small bites hit the spot and we were off. Or so i thought. Now there was no one working. Shift change ?? I found someone to take my money. Weird

Waiting 10minutes, the place only had 2 people at the bar, one other table of 4 and the two of us. No on came over or assited us so we left and went to Yard House.

Good bartenders, but weak drinks. Drinks were on the higher side, but not for a hotel of this class. Limited bar menu Good place to be with friends, but not solo.

I did the continental breakfast and was disappointed in the variety for $13. The service was horrible. My waiter charged me way too much and had to go get me a refund. This was frustrating after not receiving any service the entire time I was dining. While I loved staying in the Grand Hyatt, I wouldn't dine there for breakfast.

Very comfortable and great place to unwind after long day of meetings! Richard did a great job of taking care of us when it was super busy!

We hung out here after returning for the night. Watched some games, had a few drinks, my husband had a burger. Burger was good-French fries seemed like they had been pre-fried and then heated up by steaming? Were not crisp. The next day, we wanted to watch a Caps afternoon game. Waitress brought snack mix with our drinks and refilled out soft drinks before we had to ask.

We just wanted a snack or lighter meal and we shared a pulled pork slider, which was two small sandwiches served with BBQ Kettle Chips. Good fast service, $29 with drinks.

Thanks Kiera for your great service and menu recommendations. Also, even though I was alone you still gave me the same attention you would have given to a big group. You're a true asset to this place.

The servers are a lot of fun and very attentive! The drinks are a bit pricey but it's a hotel bar so to be expected. If you need a place to relax from a convention next door, this is a great spot!

The bar was in my hotel. Very convienient and drinks were great. Comfy lounge area with sofa's, and bar tables.

This is a wonderful location to wind down after a long day. Extremely high energy. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food is exceptional which was not expected. It tends to be better than the restaurants on the Riverwalk.

Ensure to ask what their daily $5 Happy hour prices products are as they change every day. Great place to catch up on games or to have a cold refreshing beverage before calling it a night.

We were staying at the hotel and was too lazy to find somewhere out of the way to eat at. Settled on the hotel bar and was nicely surprised. Well seasoned and juicy patty, a lot better than the even more overpriced burgers down riverwalk. Fries were nice and thick but lacked crispiness.

Had a late night dinner here. Our server was so friendly and attentive. I had the Pesto Pizza and it was pretty tasty. My husband had the Nachos and he enjoyed them. There was live entertainment and he was good, though, it was really loud. Overall, a nice experience, but pricey.

One cannot miss the Bar Rojo as it is necessary to walk through it to the convention center. It is only open in the afternoons but does have a happy hour and nice specials each day in the appetizer category. The high ceilings and open area makes it a great place to met with group members if one is at a convention..

There were 4 bartenders, 3 working extremely hard and one glued to her phone at the register facing away from customers. We arrived about 5 pm on Saturday 2/29. We waited 15 minutes and then my husband tried to get the attention of the bartender who was doing nothing but texting on her phone. She ignored him. He finally went to the other end of the bar and another gentleman was happy to serve us. We were there for about 45 minutes. “Miranda” spent most of her time glued to her cell phone while the others did all the work. One of the other bartenders had to tap her on the shoulder to get her to pay attention to the customer who was trying to pay her. Unfortunately, they pool tips, so she got a share of tips that she definitely did not work for or deserve.

My coworkers & I stayed at the Hyatt for a conference. Each night we enjoyed the convenience of having an in-house bar. The vibe was fun & the drinks were good. The biggest downside was the service. Per our waitress, who was very friendly, they had one person call in sick & another quit unexpectedly. So they were short staffed. We found it faster to order drinks from the bar than to wait for our server. Hopefully they will be fully staffed on our next visit.

For a convention hotel the bar was nice and well lit. Great place to meet for a before or after dinner drink or for a midday meeting. Clean bar and friendly staff

Being in San Antonio, you'd expect that the fish used to make the sushi would be a little dated, given the distance from any fresh fish markets. Not so here. I had several pieces of yellowfin nagiri, and all were fresh and succulent. The fish had retained its flavor, and the rice was a nice counterpart to bind it together as I chewed. I also had the San Antonio roll, which I thought was a Texas version of the California roll. Very tasty. The daichon was crisp and had a moderate amount of heat to it. Our server was attentive without hovering. My only complaint was the wasabi. While it did provide the 'zing' needed to add to the rolls, it had an almost unhealthy dark green color that made me think that it was just past its prime. This only detracted from the visual display of the dish, as the flavor, aroma and texture were perfect.

There aren't too many fast and inexpensive places to eat around the hotel so after a long day at the convention center we decided on Bar Rojo. Drinks and food a more expensive than I would have liked, but Ruth's chris was our other option so it put things into perspective. Food was really good. Must haves are the nachos and burgers. Service was terrific. Beer $7 Margarita $11 (very small one) This place would be great to meet up before going on to your next stop.

I was in a party of four woman, we were having a "girls weekend" and stayed at the Grand Hyatt. The first night we ate at Las Canarias and it was over the top good. The second night we were a little tired from shopping so decided to stay at the hotel for dinner. Really wish we had ventured out. Bar Rojo is just not good. Its not sure if it is a bar or a sushi bar or a who knows what. The service is horrible, took forever to get served. There really is no menu, if you cannot eat sushi forget it. You can choose a salad or hamburger but not much else. I really feel like we wasted what could have been a good night. Oh well

Great drinks and service. The setting is nouveau chic red and is inviting for getting together with friends for a drink.

I travel extensively throughout the U.S. And it is always nice to find a hotel bar where I can relax and have a good meal. The most important aspect of this is finding good servers and at the Rojo Bar you will find two of the best in Nadja and Tara! They provide outstanding service while also making you feel welcome like a friend. I would recommend the Rojo Bar to anyone...just make sure you ask for Nadja or Tara!

Bar Rojo is one of the larger hotel bar/lounges I have visited. My wife and I enjoyed our experiences there over the course of our recent weekend stay at the Grand Hyatt. We were made to feel especially welcome by our server Josh who went out of his way on two separate visits to treat us like we were the only people in what was an ultra busy bar.

Went along at the close of the evening for drinks with friends and colleagues. Whiskey selection is sublime, also the beer is a welcome after a walk along the riverwalk on a stuffy evening

Terrific staff, great drinks...prices in line with most hotel bars, atmosphere...awesome...the tables..lighting...music...temperature were spot on! The couches were a great touch! the TV's were well positioned and the riverwalk was just outside the door... what more can you ask for

I had a great experience having a light dinner at the bar rojo mostly because my waitress was such a beautiful, friendly, accommodating woman named Beth. She made our night completely enjoyable and the food was also excellent. Thank you!

This is the place where you go for a late drink and snack. The service is good and the price is nice. This place has several TVs with sports. The kitchen is open late and the flat bread pizza is yummy. The burgers are large and they have several types of beers.

Stopped in for a quick bite. Staying at the Grand Hyatt. Brisket tacos were really good. Jalapeño aioli had a little kick, but not too much. Fast, attentive service. Toni was tops!

Katalin was an amazing bartender. Very excellent service and personable. Made my groups visit worth the trip. Look for her when you visit here.

I'm at the Hyatt for a convention and met some associates for drinks in the Bar Rojo. I have to say that our waitress, Beth, was phenomenal. Very attentive, she even picked up on some of our names and called us by name for the evening. One of our party didn't like the wine, and Beth brought him samples of two other wines along with her personal review of each. She was warm, real and friendly. Definitely a pro!

I ordered a glass of casamigos on the rocks. This is what I drink when in New York, Philadelphia, DC, etc and pay $18-$25 (high end). $39 at this restaurant??? Seriously??

We arrived at the hotel about 2:30 PM, and unpacked before our travelling companions, so we thought we'd go to the bar for a drink while we waited for them. Unfortunately, the bar doesn't open until 4:30 PM. We never went back, but it seems like an awful waste of space to have a beautiful lobby bar that is closed virtually all day long.

The cocktails here are really great, the bartenders are professionals for sure, and the atmosphere is great too. Very modern decor in the Grand Hyatt lobby, and the view from the windows is great too.

Excellent hotel bar. Very relaxing, bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed a relaxing evening on the patio! Nice spot to hang while in business.

Vibrant and entertaining atmosphere. Comfortable seating and TVs to watch sports. Drinks were good, food was good not great, but it was convenient and relatively inexpensive.

They have a very good wine selection and the place always seemed to be busy, especially in the early evenings.

Bar rojo in the Hyatt is a must! Sarah and Kaitlyn will show you true texas hospitality and have great knowledge of the city and riverwalk! Highly recommend! I know I will be back!

This place in no way deserves to be rated this high in San Antonio. You will find a limited amount of adequate dishes but they don't even come out of a kitchen but a make shift station with a toaster oven right in the bar/restaurant. Just goes to show you can't trust TripAdvisor rating sometimes.

I was recently in San Antonio for a conference and stopped by Bar Rojo for a drink on my way out. My server Beth was so amazing that I felt the need to write a review. She was incredibly knowledgable about their craft beers which I enjoyed sampling. I would definitely go back to Bar Rojo if I knew Beth would be my server.

Service is good and drink quality is good. The cheapest cocktail will run about $10. It is convenient is staying at the Grand Hyatt as you can bring drinks up to your room.

Beth was our waitress 2 nights, and she is awesome!! So helpful and friendly, and funny! Arnold was our bartender and he will not steer you wrong either! Great staff :)

Stop in and see Beth, she is wonderful with her service and has a wealth of local "Foodie" information for you to experience. We truly enjoyed her service and company.

This was very nice. Just getting out of conference, this was a very convenient and comfortable happy hour. Cheers!

Wife and I visited on Sept 8 and 9. Bartender tried to overcharge some in party charged some $9 for drink and our guest $13 and the breakfast chef was very unsanitary. He cleaned his omelet tongs on the inside of the garbage can then made omlets. The buffet was also cold and empty. The staff was to busy texting to help anyone. Complained to the manager and she just made excuses. The Health department needs to be notified. The chef argued with my wife after he gave her raw eggs when she ordered medium then burned them when he remade them. Steve and Pam Gault

The food and service at Bar Rojo were good. I would eat there again. It is a good place for a large group to get service fast.

Nice Atmosphere, one of the better hotel bars I've been to lately. Nice liquor selection and the bar was well staffed.

Wednesday November 16th 2016 was our last day in San Antonio for a business trip. I ended up with vertigo from the flight and by the final day of our trip I was sick and nothing sounded good to eat. My boss made the joke to Sandy that she wished there was a peanut butter and jelly on the menu. Well Sandy went well above and beyond. She brought me two pieces of bread and peanut butter packets and jelly packets. Along with a banana and an orange. She did not have to do this for me but I am forever grateful that she did!!! If you are ever at the Bar Rojo please ask for Sandy, is the best we have found period.

Sevice was not intursive, but friendly.. There is plenty of room, comfortable seating, and a casual but classy atmosphere.

While staying at the Grand Hyatt, I stopped in each day for a glass of wine. One evening I ordered a Cuban grilled cheese. It was so big I could only eat half! It was delicious. The atmosphere here is great, with lots of large seating and loads of high top tables too. The staff remembered me from day to day and that made me feel very welcome. The staff were very attentive and I will definitely go back. I would highly recommend this spot for a sit down and a glass of wine!

Other reviewers compliment the style but it wasn't for me. The space is noisy, the tables are not comfortable and the drinks were high-priced and didn't taste that good. File under hotel lobby bar selling expensive drinks and mediocre service. Nothing more.

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt last weekend for a weekend getaway. The staff at the Bar Rojo were fabulous, especially our server Beth. She provided us with laughs and smiles, along with excellent service. The bar was quite full and she was running the entire time. The drinks were extremely pricey though. My husband and brother in law each got a glass of Makers on the rocks and each one was $18!!

Good service, appetizers, and is very comfortable inside and out. Nice atmosphere. Good drinks. Can't go wrong here if you're staying at the Grand Hyatt.

Ate down here one night while staying at the Hyatt. While I wouldn't go out of my way to eat/drink here (plenty of choices on the Riverwalk), it was convenient when I was tired from working a 12 hour day.

The bar staff is very friendly and outgoing. The prices are typical of a luxury hotel but the atmosphere and service make it worth the stop.

We ate breakfast here due to the room package with the Grand Hyatt. We only ate here for breakfast but the food selection was vast and the quality was delicious!

Great cocktail 🍹 specials after long conference sessions! Comfy seating and attentive service! A relaxing spot, indeed!

Best drinks and appetizers; indoor and outdoor facility next to riverwalk; lots of TVs plus great service!

I loved the Guiness and peanuts. The service was great. It was a quite place where my collaborators discussed biomedical research.

located in the Grand Hyatt - has a nice array of beverages and things to eat. pretty good service. can be a bit loud when the place if filled up - but then again, what place isnt. not a bad spot to enjoy a libation

Rojo Bar has a few local beers on tap, along with all the other usual beverages. They have a limited menu available at variable hours. The options were standard bar food. Being there for a conference, the service was stretched to the limit. Drinks were typically over-priced lobby drinks.

Located inside the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio, the Bar Rojo is a comfortable and spacious place where you can get comfortable, watch a game and get light food. The atmosphere is pleasant, and it is agood place to relax.

Stopped our walk and had drinks & Nachos. Scrumptious Nachos, Ice Cold beer, super Mojitos. Served by our 5 star very attentive & pleasant waiter Logan. Thanks Logan!!

My husband and I just returned from a convention recently held between the convention center and the grand hyatt and while we did not stay in the hotel we popped into the bar a few days to have a drink or two. They have a great selections, the drinks were good, they even had a cute specials menu for the convention attendees. The staff was helpful and worked well under the pressure the convention brings to the hotel. My only complaint is a huge pet peeve of mine, the third time my husband and I went into the the bar on the last day August 3rd, my husband had a Glenlivet 12yr (only around $13) and I had one of their signature strawberry lemonade drinks that was about $10.50, we closed out our tab after that, only had those two drinks, and when we got the bill everything checked out with tax it was a little over $26, we left a cash tip and went our way. However I checked my account this morning and it shows the last time I went into the bar on August 3rd, that i was being charged $31.50. So I guess and employee wasn't happy with the tip I left (roughly a 25% tip) and decided to add something extra for themselves... I have gone here before numerous times and never had this happen and even though i'll be back in San Antonio in September for Alamo City comic con and back next year as well for the convention I just attended, but I will not be coming back here. If I cannot trust the staff to charge me correctly, I can't go back. Sorry Hyatt.

Enjoyed watching the Texas A&M Aggies play. Manage ment made sure we had good viewing seats. Talked football like it was his own team. Bar manager( wore glasses, forgot his name, sorry) was always close keeping an eye on the goings on. Stiff drinks, Free snacks, lots of TV screens. noise level was kind of high.

Pros: Nice location, especially if you're going to the convention center Friendly staff GREAT bartender.. our drinks were fantastic Nice wait staff Nice atmosphere Cons: Not too many food choices but we had a sausage and cheese plate and it was really good. Loud at times.

They had a special margarita that had "muddled" jalapeño peppers which combined the sweet, salty, hot, and sour for a tasty blend!

We met friends for drinks here on March 21, 2023. The place was packed and we started with standing room only. We had a few rounds of drinks. We were able to get seats about halfway through our visit. The drinks were pretty good and the service was good considering how crowded it was. The drinks are pricey, but that is to be expected as this buy is located in the Grand Hyatt, which is on the Riverwalk. We had a good time here with our friends.

Great decor, lots of seating and fast service. There are several TV's over the bar to watch sporting events.

We were staying at the Grand Hyatt and decided to stop into this bar for after dinner cocktails. It was crowded, flooded with people at the bar and in the lounge area. The overall look and feel is very contemporary, kind of "clubby" for a hotel bar. It definitely has a "rojo" or red lighting scheme, but there are TV's and other lighting contributing to the ambiance so that it does not feel too much like a nightclub. We were lucky enough to snag a table shaped like an "X" in front of the bar - a unique concept that is great for large groups, but a bit awkward for a group of five people. It was very loud in the bar, and we found ourselves struggling to carry on a conversation. The server was polite, but brief, taking our orders a few minutes after we were seated, and returning with the drinks about ten minutes later. The old fashion was great, but I was disappointed in their wine list. It was limited for ordering by the glass, and the markup was pretty heavy. I would recommend trying a cocktail if you visit. Overall it was fine for a quick drink, but the layout made it feel very crowded and it was too noisy for my taste. The food people ordered around us looked good, mostly things like sliders and fries, great for late night. Cheers!

Thanks so much for the awesome service Beth Schott!!! Tons of laughs after a long day at the trade show! I suggest the pineapple habanero infused tequila or the raspberry lemon drop. Yummy Sippy Sippy!!

Being in the service industry for over a decade, I can appreciate a team that gets along, and has a clean mission as to their guests. The guests come first. It showed during my post marathon drinks when I struck up conversation with Caitlyn, Logan, and Miranda. They were upbeat and fun, very knowledgable about the area, which collectively made up for the Jackhammer which Im sure will haunt my dreams tonight. Will be visiting again soon! Mike

Bar Rojo was a good lounge in the Grand Hyatt San Antonio. The drinks were good but a little pricey I thought. I like the longer stemmed Martini glasses better than these short ones. With this being said I personally like a more comfortable plush atmosphere in a bar. The atmosphere here was minimal and not as comfortable as I like for myself. It is still a great bar but not my pic.I enjoyed my experience at the Ruth's Chris bar a little better.

Great food and drink at Bar Rojo. Wings were fab, fries were hot and crispy and to make our experience even better, we had the pleasure of having an awesome server, Beth! This sweet lady was absolutely on top of her game. What a gem you have with her. Prompt, courteous, great gift of gab and killer smile! Thanks, Beth, for making our visit so fun. We will be back.

Not very great but good enough for a happy hour. Pros: Good beer selection. lots of sports channels. Cons: too loud.

Our party of 4 stopped by for a drink. The bartender made us all fabolous cocktails!! The bar is a beautiful space, and with the huge windows, we didn't miss our ride. Our party had some delicious small bites at the bar, and there is a steak house near by.

Here several times at a conference. Memorable happy hour with yummy nachos and charcuterie. Lovely cava complemented. Only criticism was not enough tending bar to keep up with the crowd.

My Team and I held a impromptu meeting in the seating areas around the bar and it was perfect. The staff were attentive but didn't disrupt our flow. We were comfortable being in the open light environment.

Started out with warm draft beers. Wasn't sure if East Texas drafts were served that way. Glass with ice cold beer was warm.... But Toni made... Ice cold bottled beer in a cold! Perfect. Great happy hour with friends after!

Nice to have somewhere in the hotel to grab a glass of wine informally. Even some outdoor seating. Service not so great - had to ask for utensils, napkins, plates. Odd to get your order in a bag from the restaurant...Restroom opposite was filthy and not servied

Good bar, service was a bit lacking though. Pricing is not cheap but not super high considering the conference and business orientation of the city and hotels. Happy hours on the river are usually Monday thru Friday only.

This bar is in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt, just a few feet from the convention center. It's got a weird mix of tables/chairs. Either a tall table with tall chair (so your feet do not reach the floor), or a short round table and short chair. There is a limited food menu, but what we tried was good. This place was strangely closed at lunchtime on a recent Wednesday.

Went to dinner at Bar Rojo with my family. We were staying at the Grand Hyatt. Ordered dinner at 8:15 By 9:00 we just gave up as it never came. We need up eating at Whataburger. Bar Rojo is the Grand Hyatt's restaurant so it's no surprise it's Horrible ( see my review of the Hyatt)

Very clean and staff was great. Friendly and inviting. Drinks are typical price for the area $5.00-$9.00 depending on what you like. Water is free! During the week this is a great place for business travelers to go and chat with others if you need to get out of your room. Plenty of seating and it's not on top of each other. Cheers!

Pizza was very good. The drinks well made. The area in front of the bar has seating for groups. Just a nice place to unwind.

A lot of hotel lobby bars lack a lot. Bar Rojo was exceptional in service and quality of drink service and food selections. Great place to hang out and network if attending a convention.

I did not stay at the hotel, but spent time in the bar with friends who were staying there. It wasn't really much more expensive than anyplace else despite being in a very nice hotel, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was outstanding. Beth was our server 3 times we were in there, always friendly, always quick, and she even remembered what we were drinking from one day to the next. She's definitely the reason we came back again!

Kaitlan was an amazing waitress/bartender. She was personal, friendly, and super accommodating. We will return to Bar Rojo simply because of her. Her service and attention to detail made our trip one to remember.

Very modern look, spacious and comfortable, for a bar in the Hyatt. We were their for a meeting and this was a great place to network. Had a Cuban Sandwich for lunch and evening drinks. Service was quick and attentive.

Got in around 8pm. Wanted a drink and something to eat ( not too big). Other than a full blown Ruth criss your only choice is Bar Rojo no other restaurant on premises. What a let down. Ultra basic bar food only one salad on menu but at least it lets you order grilled chicken or pork belly on it.

Ask for Beth! She is amazing and will take great care of you. Drinks are great but service is amazing (because of Beth). Hailey is great too and followed Beth's shift. Great experience because of these 2 women.

Bar Rojo had fresh signature cocktails, good on tap and bottle beer selections, and good food. Our favorite appetizer had fresh tortilla chips with a trio of freshly made guacamole, salsa, and chipotle . It was a little pricey and service was spotty, but overall, very good.
Nice atmosphere
We went on a Saturday night. Since we were staying the night at the hotel, we decided to stop and have a drink. They weren't overly crowded like the other bars on a Saturday, and we moved outside for more peace and quiet. I loved that their seating is so comfy. You feel right at home. The staff was nice as well.
