lively bar, good food and great drink selection outside the main down town. Staff are good and service is good.

We wanted to grab dinner after a business meeting and first tried to get into Au Cheval but the wait was two hours and so we walked down the street to Bar Siena. My first impression were positive. We asked to be seated and waited for at least 10 minutes but for what I could only guess was staff that were more interested in talking to each other than serving the customers. There was no waiting line... just staff talking to each other. When finally seated, the waiter was very attentive. I ordered the short rib lasagna and my friend the salmon. Both dishes were very well prepared. I was impressed with the amount of meat in the lasagna. I ordered 2 scoops of gelato for dessert and felt the serving size was generous. I would eat there again, but I would hope the seating staff were as good as the waiter.

My Bloody Mary was to die for. We shared the breakfast pizza, pancake and avocado toast. The food is excellent. I cannot wait to go again and have dinner instead of brunch!

Came to Bar Siena for a client appreciation dinner and we decided to do family style and we were not disappointed. We had a full meal. Favorites was meatballs, burrata, margarita pizza, risotto, lasagna, chop salad, lobster, and for desert the “donuts” with chocolate and caramel sauces. Wine selection excellent, service excellent..I would suggest a large group, try doing the family style. Highly recommend for a client dinner.

Not a place to catch up with friends but a great, casual, cool, fun place to blast the cobwebs away and socialise with other people. The music was good, the scene and the crowd was cool, relaxed, and the food all tasted great. Not a place I would recommend for business or with family, but a great fun hang out for a meal and cocktails.

My wife, son & I had a very pleasant experience at Bar Siena for a Monday evening dinner. We're city residents and wanted to get away from the north side as the Cubs were back and things can get pretty clogged on game day/night. We met at Bar Siena for the first time. My wife & I were seated in a comfy corner booth and waited for our adult son to arrive. We were warmly greeted and enjoyed some wine. Our server was well-versed in the particulars of the libations and more importantly the food offerings (which is why we were there). We started with the Grilled Octopus and the Burrata Antipasti to get started. Both excellent, however be warned that the Burrata is a bit rich with the apricot mustard & candied pistachios and might inhibit your appetite for your main course. Great sharing plate though. Short Rib Lasagna was my son's choice, sorry no picture. It came out piping hot and he loved it. Prosciutto Fig Pizza was my wife's choice. We all got to share and it was marvelous with the pistachios and truffle honey. I opted for the Langoustine Risotto and was very pleased however I couldn't find any bud portions on my grilled asparagus; slightly disappointing. Took leftovers home and could not find room for dessert, but will next time. A very active, hip venue with a full bar. I understand there is a second floor and there was seasonal al fresco dining available. Terrific and attentive service throughout the visit. I hope my photos are OK, afraid the pizza image is a bit soft.

Visited Chicago for the Neocon convention at the Merchandise Mart. A one mile walk to the West Loop neighborhood gets you to Bar Siena. Supposedly the area is just now getting renovated. There were lots of bars, restaurants, and you could tell it was a local crowd there. We were 50 somethings there, but were made to feel welcome among the young crowd. Indoor and outdoor sitting. Dogs and kids were there too. Food and service was great. Loud, but we could still have conversations without yelling. Would definitely visit again.

We went here on a recommendation prior to a concert at the United Center. This restaurant is known for its speciality cocktails. We had the number 8 which was a Moscow Mule type drink. So awesome I had two! For our appetizer we had the meatballs made from Wagu beef. They almost melted in our mouths. Dinners here are created to be shared amongst the table and so my husband and I shared the risotto and the short rib lasagna. Both were excellent and the were plenty of other choices we could have made. For dessert, the restaurant provides a menu from the Bombobar around the corner, known for its fried Italian holeless doughnuts, as well as gelatos and fancy coffee drinks. I ordered the cookie dough monster gelato topped with frosted animal crackers and mini doughnut. It was beyond excellent. I would definitely come back to try something else.

Absolutely add this to your list of places to go, whether it be for business, large groups, happy hour, just dessert, a date, friends, anything! Went here before a Bulls game and had some great bites. Definitely make a reservation. The staff is so friendly, very much a team environment going on with a lot of attention to clearing plates and filling water, etc. We had the shrimp/artichoke app - super flavorful, but a smaller portion than expected, nonetheless, would absolutely order again. Then we had the short rib lasagna which seems small at first but is ridiculously satisfying, the epitome of comfort food! Short rib is hard to do right and this was great. We also had the prosciutto fig pizza. A great size, crust well done, and a good proportion of ingredients. Lastly, we ended on a nice scoop of gelato, Even if you're full, get dessert. Our server was so so so friendly. I'll be back.

Very expensive bad food! Halibut prepared completely tasteless. Even the salad was totally ruined by a huge amount of salt. Has nothing to do with real Italian food.

We enjoyed first a drink at the bar, then a dinner with collègues. Good antipasti and nice and generous italian dishes. The restaurant is quite big so can be a little bit noisy, but it's a nice place.

We had a large group in the afternoon. The waitress was so knowledgeable and helpful with the selections it made ordering simple. We went with many different apps and small plates for the table - everyone one of them was delicious. The gnocchi, the grilled octopus, the burrata, the delicious hummus, the meatballs, and especially the oysters - all were incredibly tasty. The drink menu is extensive and includes some great crafted cocktails and ciders. Everyone enjoyed the upstairs atmosphere and the service. Would definitely go back!

This is a very vibrant happy hour spot. The weather was nice, so the doors were open to the patio with a nice breeze. On a Thursday evening between 4-6p, it was bustling but not too crowded. The service was good and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the salmon and it was mouthwatering. The octopus is also delicious. I give this place a high five and recommend it for food and drinks!

We were meeting someone from the area for an early lunch and they chose Bar Siena. This restaurant is located in a very busy area, with a ton of restaurants and parking which is a bit of a pain. But when we went inside, we had a really good lunch and tried the prosciutto fig pizza. We were quite surprised at how good the pizza was. Our server was very efficient and personable. For the area, the prices are reasonable.

Very casual but elegant at the same time. Tapas Italian food style and very good wine choice. Staff is very friendly and helpful atmosphere is vibrant even on a weekday night.

We stopped by Bar Siena 2/25 for a quick desert before heading to a show. The gelato, cookie and the presentation was amazing. Our server Stephani couldn't have been any more accommodating or attentive. We'd highly recommend going back again!

First of all, get a Bloody Mary! They are great! Tables in bar area are first come, first serve. Good place to sit. We ordered (in order of our favorite).... 1) Bambi Breakfast Sandwich 2) maple bacon side 3) Avocado Toast 4) Short Rib Hash. It was all good! Worth the wait....

Had the Carne Pizza and it did not disappoint. Another has Classico Breakfast and it was fantastic. Another had Meatball Calzone, was good but ask for extra sauce. Great dining experience and most reasonably priced.. Can't go wrong.

Went with friends to enjoy a late lunch, very late as it was 2:30 and the place was packed on a Saturday. The staff were very engaging, the scene was really cool, very artsy, and the food was great! We had salads, their delicious meatball app and two pizzas! Everything was excellent. It is definitely has a cool vibe and will be on my list of places to go back to! Nice job Bar Siena - keep up the great job!

Stumbled across Bar Siena in search of dinner and was very pleasantly surprise at the quality of the food. Comes across as a sports bar inside, not a bad thing, so I was expecting bar food. I had the most yummy truffle fettuccine! Lots of mushrooms, garlic, and sauce over fettuccine noodles. The bartender recommended protein but I passed…kind of wish I had tried it. Service was great too. Sonja was attentive but left me to my wine and dinner. There is also outdoor seating for those who don’t want a bar atmosphere.

Food was very good, not great but close. The menu needs more explanation. We were here for brunch on Sunday, this was the only place, in the general area, that we could get in. My wife ordered the basic breakfast plate (I can't remember it's exact name) and I ordered the waffles. Mine was awesome. Her plate was a tad off. Very small portion of eggs and her waffle iron cooked hash browns were overly greasy. The Burratta was exceptional! If the other area places were as busy as they were, this is a good second choice.

Stopped here with my friend who lives in the west loop. The wine selection was weak and the pizza I had was just ok. My friend wouldn't eat there because he is a local and stated close by there was better Italian..(Being an Italian Citizen he was looking out for me :)

Lovely patio outside, good service and really delicious food. I would recommend highly recommend this place, as the wine and cocktails even made this night better. Friendly server, did leave us to our own pace. The risotto was so good!

My husband and I went over to Fulton Market for a burger at Au Cheval... but the 4 hour wait for a table seemed a little ridiculous so we went in search of somewhere else as it was close to 9pm and we were hungry! Walked into Siena and they mentioned they had seats upstairs at the bar so we sat down and ordered pretty quickly. I ordered the short rib lasagna and my husband had the duck mac & cheese. Both arrived within 10-15 mins and were fresh from the oven and piping hot. The duck mac & cheese was great - not overly creamy and sickly and it was a huge portion. The star of the show was my lasagna - tender chunks of short rib in a rich sauce with a crispy top. Best lasagna I’ve ever had! Already thinking about when we can go again before we go home...

The duck Mac and cheese, the Brussels sprouts and the berrata salads were awesome. They were very accommodating for our tardiness.

I rated the Bar Siena a excellent. I based this on the bar only. I reviewed the menu and it did look great. We were going to Publican and just stopped in for a drink. We were greeted by a couple of friendly bartenders. They have a interesting menu of craft cocktails. I had a dirty martini and my wife had a lemon drop martini. Both were great. Son had a #4 whiskey old fashion, craft style. It was good. A future visit would have me ordering a meal. Nice location. Not too busy and casual.

And for dinner Pizza and Bomboloni, you can never go wrong 😍 @barsiena . . . . #barsienachicago #pizza #bomboloni #foodie #chicagofoodie #naddiasfavorites #naddias_favorites

I have been here several times. The service is fabulous. It is great spot to entertain clients, hang out with the girls, or go on a date. I would not bring children here. It is a medium sized restaurant that has the ambiance of a small gem. THE SERVICE IS EXCELLENT. Considering the location, service, and food quality, it is priced reasonably. The restaurant can be very busy. Make a reservation if you want to sit when you walk in the door.

Bartender Pasquale at the O’Hare airport is outstanding!!!! Thank you! Relaxing way to start our international travel! Right by gate M32 in terminal 5

We gathered with a group of friends to see the World Series sixth game! Nice food. Excellent service!!!

An incredible night. Atmosphere, food, service. My husband loved his drink (I don’t drink). You can do tapas. Food was delish.

Went with a work group for a late lunch on a weekday. Had a variety of small plate apps that the table shared. Really liked the Meatballs, Wings, Pork Ribs and Carpaccio. The grilled shrimp was just ok, not much flavor. Also shared the pepperoni pizza and the gnocchi pasta which were both very tasty. Really liked the dessert options and we tried the bomboloni doughnuts from the attached Bombobar dessert place. Liked the different flavors you could try. All in all a pretty good visit except the service was far from great. It took 20 minutes two separate times to wait for our drinks after ordering. The place wasn't that busy so not sure if they were severely understaffed or just took their sweet time. The server was attentive but we were slightly put off by all the waiting for drinks.

Be sure to make reservations for Brunch Sunday as they get filled in a hurry. Our brunch was great. Had the lobster eggs benedict. Pizzas were really unique. Worth the wait.

We stopped in Bar Siena for drinks before our dinner reservations at a different establishment in the neighborhood. We had great service while sitting at the bar and there was a good selection of drinks and beers to choose from. While we didn't eat dinner at Bar Siena, it is a place that we are interested in trying next time we are in the area.

My sister in law took us here when we were visiting her for her birthday. The pizzas were delicious as well as the steak and eggs and waffles with brulee bananas and nutella. We had mimosas and my husband loved the bloody Mary. We also had a bomba don't where you get to add your own filling. It was fun and delicious! It had a cool atmosphere as well.

Took my college student daughter and two of her friends here for Saturday brunch. Very cool place. Every dish was terrific. The waffle was essentially a dessert, though I'm not complaining. Music was pretty loud, making conversation a bit difficult, but the playlist was impressive to them. Maybe some day I'll stand in line to get into the Little Goat Diner across the street, but I'm very happy we picked Bar Sienna on this morning.

This is a fun Italian restaurant in the West Loop. The music was too loud but they turned it down when asked. My husband and shared the antipasto and Bar Sienna chopped salad ( like an antipasto). We also split a pepperoni pizza. Pizza was good but would have liked the crust to be more crispy. Our friends both had the halibut Milanese, which they said was very good. Donuts for dessert which were light and delish served with 3 sauces to top or dip the donuts in (raspberry, chocolate and caramel. Very good service.

Service was good and ambience was ok. Ordered an appetizer that was greasy and the meat was extremely fatty. Drinks are expensive and small. Overall expensive for what you get. Many better places in Chicago / Loop area bar....

I went here with colleagues while at a major conference. They had a set menu, so maybe I would have been happier if we had been able to order from the menu. Apps of meatballs and burrata were pretty good. The bread that came with was not very fresh. Main courses were two mediocre pastas and a bufala cheese pizza. The pizza was good. The service was quite good for a big group. But the biggest problem was noise. I could barely talk to the people right next to me. By a couple hours, I had a headache. I left before dessert.

This was my first time here and was I ever impressed. We got the calzone, turkey club and bomballini for dessert. Everything was delicious and we all had leftovers. HUGE portions made to order too! The only drawback was parking...extremely difficult, I valeted at $16. Otherwise, it's amazing...our waitress was outstanding! Highly recommend. One more thing...the decor is pretty as well :)

So much flavor in every dish we ordered I wish I could have eaten more! Our party of 9 ordered half the menu and everyone was very pleased. Our vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters were all happy. Really nice beer selection. Great vibe. Definitely the place to be on a Friday night in Chicago. Use a taxi or valet because it is almost impossible to find street parking with all the nearby construction. Will definitely Visit again.

Best pizza and Prosecco I’ve tasted in a long time. Took a veggie one and luv’d it ! Nice personnel and good service

We did a walk in for Sunday brunch. Got seated immediately and taken care off. Swift and friendly service. My wife had the salmon Benedict and I the burger. They both came out quick from the kitchen and good tasting. Can give the place a warm recommendation when in the area or even make the walk from down town since the area is cozy and totally worth it.

Near West Downtown. pricey for sure. Zinfandel starts @$76 a bottle. $18 on line. We enjoyed the cheese and sausage plate $34 and meatballs $17. Very good. A great stop on a Friday evening. I would do it all again.

Ate there a couple of times recently. Food and drink is very good, but just a little pricey compared to similar Chicago bars. Having said that, I will return

Really not a fan of this place. Food is uninspired and bland and prices are high. Moreover the layout of the restaurant is uninviting - we ate at a table in the center of a large room with a dark, unpleasant decor. Just felt exposed. I live walking distance from this restaurant, but given the host of alternatives in the neighborhood, am unlikely to ever go back.

Food was excellent. The focaccia with the honey is super delicious:) Decent drink choices. Great vibe. Lots of casually well dressed young to middle age professionals. We will definitely be back. Slam dunk by the Siena Tavern group. Cheaper, more laid back atmosphere than Tavern.

The space is beautiful with a tree in the middle with twinkle lights giving it a wonderfully, intimate and yet fun atmosphere. We had a drink at the bar and the tuna crudo. The bartender was inventive and friendly. The food we had was fresh and flavorful. It is quite busy, so reservations are recommended.

I had high hopes for this place after looking at the menu online. The interior is cramped, very loud and has tall tables. The ubiquitous TV screens everywhere. yawn We began with the carrots and they were probably the best thing we ate. The waiter bragged about the celebrity chef so I was a little let down that he chose to use the undeservedly popular rainbow carrots. They have very little flavor compared with a nice ornage carrot. The were also a little too charred. A bit of char is lovely, but three of the carrots were mere charcoal. My son's burger was adequate, his fries very good, creamy inside and crispy and flavorful outside. My husband's Chopped Salad was also adequate, but chopped means just that...chopped...and it wasn't. The added $5 pice of chicken was as dry as dust. My proscuitto and fig pizza was also a letdown. May I tell you that ordering something with figs and getting bits of dried fig is like ordering grapes and getting raisins? It's the height of fig season for crying out loud. A few bits of dried fig, a ton of wet arugula and whole slices of procuitto that turned to leather in the oven. Very hard to eat. I had to remove the ham, cut it up (also hard) and put it back on my pizza. Our server made us laugh. His bragging about the chef was practiced and he was bored with saying it. We had fun with that, repeating his tone all day. He couldn't be bothered for drink refills or to box up my sad pizza for the dog, so we had to ask the busmen and the hostess when we needed something. This barely adequate lunch for three, with no alcohol or dessert, cost $87, $100 with tip and $120 with valet parking, which is a must in this neighborhood. At this pricepoint we should have chosen Fulton Market Kitchen.

Came here at 4:30p on a Thursday, left an hour and a half later and it was packed. Definitely a local after work gathering place. And I can see why: great food and an amazing atmosphere. They have a faux light tree rising up through the center of the restaurant. Took my breath away and every other aspect of the decor was spot on. We had Juliana as our server and she was knowledgeable, thoughtful, attentive and kind. We also had multiple other members of the staff, including the manager, stopping by periodically. It’s truly a teamwork place. We started with the grilled octopus and meatballs apps - wonderful! The octopus was so tender and the meatballs were traditional Italian fare. I then had a pizza (pictured), mom had chopped salad (pictured), and dad the lasagna. All outstanding but the standout was the chopped salad. Hands down, delicious and worth it. Finally, we took a look at the desserts. They make in-house doughnuts. Apparently they make various concoctions with them. I saw a s’mores one and wanted to try, but it came on top of a hot chocolate! So I asked for it without the drink and it came out all adorable and tiny (pictured). All-in-all, highly recommend and we may even return again for a different meal during our stay.

Went for a birthday business lunch with a group. The table was a high top with stools that were very uncomfortable, think as if you are falling forward. Got there and the place was pretty much empty and ordered. Waiter expressed that this type of dining was meant for sharing but most of us were not doing so and made that clear. With that said, the food came out sporadic leaving half without anything to eat. We ordered the meatball appetizer and it came out with 4 - how do you split that with 7? Also ordered the focaccia with added prosciutto, not bad, but not worth $20+ The portions were small for what you pay for especially the salads. A $11 potato soup, was good, not $11 good. Short Rib Lasagna good, but again small. Burger good, thin, well done (didn't have an option since patty was so thin, so I was told) Would I go back? No. Glad is was a business expense.

Stopped in for late lunch food was good, more expensive then I thought. Drinks were good but also expensive.

I like Bar Siena. The place is charming and the pizza is really good. We sat upstairs. That was our first time there and we really liked it on the second floor. The views of the city from there are nice. Our server was good. The carne pizza was amazing. The gnocchi wasn't a hit. It was too rubbery. When the server asked we told him and he offered to pay for dessert. They have a decent wine list too. This is the place to meet friends. It is simply cool. The only complaint besides the gnocchi is that the guys that clean your table are obtrusive. They disturb your meal and they don't seem to care.

I had dinner here on a Monday night with some friends. Glad we had a reservation. We sat upstairs and overlooked the tree in the middle. Atmosphere is amazing and fun. We shared some pizza and all had different beer. We had 3 pizzas total and probably should have only ordered 2. Service was great. While we did not order donuts because we were stuffed, the table next to us did and said they were beyond delicious! Save room for the donuts!

Started out with a craft beer from a good selection of them... After quite the long wait we were finally texted that our table was ready... we ordered a bunch of stuff to share based off the server's recommendation to share... great idea! The italian flare offerings at Bar Siena were great! Love the huge tree in the center of this two level bar! Awesome atmosphere!

My boss took me and another boss that I work with for lunch. The atmosphere is great and food phenomenal. We had a wonderful waiter who gave us excellent suggestions. We ordered the Taleggio Focaccia as an appetizer. It was bread with cheese, arugula, truffle honey and sea salt! That could have been a meal itself. Then I ordered the Potato Soup and grilled cheese. They made it sound like it would be these little cheese bites so I also ordered Shaved Butternut Squash Soup. The Potato Soup and grilled cheese would have been more than enough. It was absolutely heaven! The Salad was awesome as well. Both of my bosses had a hamburger w/French fries and said they could not stop eating the fries! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to take my hubby here in the very near future.

We went here in a Sunday night and we were surprised with how busy it was. We were seated promptly and had good service. Our server made great recommendations. We tried the octopus per her recommendation and it was excellent! We also tried the gnocchi and lobster agnolotti. Both were rich with flavor! I would say the only ok item was the gelato dessert.

Fantastic bar/restaurant very funky friendly place, great vibe staff couldn’t do enough for us. And the food wow a must if you’re visiting food and fancy some great food.

So the other night we decided to stop into Bar Siena for a couple cocktails and a bite to eat. The atmosphere is Nuevo laid back with a cool décor. Settling into the bar, we looked over the menu and made our selections. The charred octopus was spot on countered well with the butternut squash salad to provide an acid counterpoint because the octopus was a little heavy. Onward to the main courses. The sweet corn ravioli and the braised oxtail tagliatelle were both good but somewhat heavy. The star of the show was the desert, which, for anyone who have read my prior reviews knows how harsh I can be. The gelato was very good and not overly sweet. The one thing in the meal that I cannot forgive is when we received our cocktails; both glasses were sticky on the OUTSIDE of the glass. You could serve me the greatest drink in the world but when my fingers stick to the glass due to what feels like simple syrup, it’s going to put me off. How did the bartender miss that? I’ll probably go back but next time I’ll probably stick to the gelato and a bottle of beer.

went today for lunch with the family started off with toasted mozzarella croquettes and a meatball and mozzarella calzone to share, delicious Family ordered sweet corn ravioli spicy gnocchi, lobster sandwich and a burger, pasta's and lobster sandwich were very good with the burger being ok dessert was a 4 pck of bamboloni (Italian hole-less doughnuts where you squirt in your own filling) salted caramel, smore, vanilla bean, raspberry, also tried a coffee caramel crisp gelato and a funfetti hot chocolate. desserts were great, service was good finding a parking spot even at 2:00pm on a Wednesday proved to be a nightmare and a little $$$ but all in all a great meal

Great bar area... stopped for a drink before a neighboring dinner reservation. Menu looked good as did entrees delivered to patrons.

Great drinks, great shareable plates. The server made good suggestions. Wonderful experience. They make a great old fashioned.

Terrible food and the service is even worse. Rude staff. I rarely write reviews but felt strongly enough to write this

I'm still reeling from our weekend in Chicago, where we stayed in the newly redeveloped Fulton Market District. Did not realize that our rented apartment was smack in the middle of restaurant row. So many choices and we landed in Bar Siena for our first dinner of the long weekend. Oysters and tuna (white?) crudo to start. The oysters were creamy (I'm used to briny oysters from the north east) and the tuna was buttery. The fig and prosciutto was delicious, but the highlight of my dinner was the hot and bubbly short rib lasagna, which arrived in a cast iron skillet. Ahh-mazing!

Family gathering and we spent 3 hours. Bought a few bottles of wine and were not rushed. Dinner for the six people was mixed. So liked it others did not. No one loved their food, which is a great experience.

The atmosphere is casual but the cocktail and food menu is top notch. Innovative menu items and cocktails....it's hard to decide what to order. The server helped us with selections and quantity so that we did not over order. I suggest sharing so you get to taste many of the Chef's creations. The prosciutto fig pizza is unforgettable and worth a visit on it's own.

While visiting Chicago, I met up with a friend here and it was really good. Cool decor with a downtown chic vibe, good drinks and tasty food (especially the meatball appetizer). The only downside was how noisy it was. Besides that it would have gotten 5 stars from me!

My wife and I came here for dinner with some friends and we were not disappointed. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and her suggestions were on point. The portions were all of a good size and it was easy to share. The short rib lasagna was excellent and my favorite! The lobster tagliatelle was also very good and worth a repeat. I wanted to try the duck Mac and cheese... next time! Definitely worth a visit on any random weeknight! Great coffee too!

My corporate friends recommended this place. A little tough to find but in a very cool, developing area. Everyone at Bar Siena was very friendly. Food is very good. I had a salad and it was enormous. Menu had plenty of options. I used the valet parking out front. It is in the West Loop. I wish I would have had more time to explore the area. Only drawback was music was too loud over lunch but it eventually quieted down.

Nice decor and friendly service. Unfortunately the music is so loud it is impossible to have a conversation. The speakers are right over the tables. Asked if the volume could be turned down and were told by the manager that it was going to get louder when the DJ started playing! Definitely not a place to have dinner.

Great patio and friendly staff. Get the donuts! _______________________________________________________________

We came on a Thursday night and the place was packed. We had an 8 o’clock reservation and they seated us at a round table which was nice within five minutes of us arriving at the restaurant. We sat upstairs and it is very loud. Do not bring anyone here who has difficulty hearing or following the conversation. That said the food was great we had dietary restrictions in our group vegan and gluten free. There are not a lot of selections if you’re vegan. The hummus tray is one of the only choices and it was surprisingly substantial. They have a gluten-free menu and can make pasta selections gluten-free. The portions are good sized. The pizzas are big enough to share. The salads could be shared but appeared more of a single serving.

One of the finest meals I ever had in chi-town. That selection of fresh pizzas and oh man that short rib lasagna melts in your mouth. I tried my first oysters here was not disappointed.

This restaurant is busy for a reason -- excellent food and a great bar. Came for lunch and had the best chicken caesar salad ever. Enjoyed the ambiance. Great service, too.

RACISM — LONG REVIEW ALERT Never in my life have I experienced such disgusting treatment from both front of house staff and management. I came yesterday with a group, where one member did not have his ID, as he is visiting and his wallet was unfortunately stolen (which I explained). Keep in mind that I have lived in the area for 2 years and have worked in the area for 7. I have never once been carded there, and I look pretty young. He asked the waitress Meigen if he could show a picture to get a drink, in which case she said she could show it to the manager and it would be at his discretion. The picture he had of the ID happened to be expired, so I wanted to speak with the manager who was hosting and see if any accommodations could be made since the individual was 30 years old and we had never been carded before, and I mentioned this along with living and working in the area, being a server myself. He was extremely rude and short from the jump and even told me “I should know how it goes,” and said that they don’t allow picture ID at all, which directly contradicts what the server had said prior about being able to show him a picture ID. Obviously, this is allowed with other customers. Just not our FULLY black group. This was proved even further after I spoke with EIGHT different WHITE patrons in the establishment who expressed to me that they had not been carded AT ALL that day and frequented the restaurant quite often as well. However, if you couldn’t see this coming— the only other Black group in the venue was carded as well. After the first manager (I think his name was Chris) completely WALKED OFF while we were speaking (which I recorded), another member ends up speaking with a different manager, Sammy, who comes up to our table even more disrespectfully than the first one that I spoke with and speaks to us extremely condescendingly, and allows Meigen to fly off the handle and argue with us in front of him, stating that “we should have came prepared and it wasn’t her problem.” At this point, the entire group felt uncomfortable and the experience was ruined. ON TOP OF THAT, there was an added automatic gratuity to the check. The website mentions this being added to parties of 6, and we were a group of 5. Another very clear racist act, assuming we would not have tipped and illegally adding this to our check. With the experience we had with Meigen’s unprofessional, tactless remarks and Sammy’s infantilization of our entire group, INCLUDING literally getting extremely close to my face, speaking over me while I tried to have a civil conversation, and attempting to kick me out saying that he would call the police (!!) this has been one of the WORST and most disgusting, embarrassing, and blatantly racist treatment I have ever had. No one was loud or rowdy at any moment, and when bringing up these issues to Sammy, stating that the treatment was flat out inappropriate and racist, he replied with “That’s fine.” DO NOT DINE WITH OR SPEND MONEY AT THIS PLACE.

Bar Siena is in the location where the Dragon Fly restaurant used to be on W. Randolph St in west loop. Great place with casual atmosphere nice selection of foods at reasonable prices. We had great service from our wait staff, Bruce, who took time and care to go over the menu with us. While the pizza's looked good, we opted for the Bomboburger which turned out to be great- we went with the single burger instead of double and along with the generous serving of fries, turned out to be quite filling. The restaurant has main floor and upstairs - the larger bar area on the main floor. We chose the upper level which had a more reasonable noise level. While there are many options on W. Randolph we will make a return visit to Bar Siena.

I recently had dinner at Bar Siena with a group of four people. Having previously tried two restaurants owned by celebrity chef Fabio Viviani and disappointed at both (both in Tampa, FL) I went with low expectations. The setting is, like in all of chef Viviani's restaurants, extremely vibrant and modern. Viviani's restaurants all seem to follow the same general formula: pay great attention to the packaging, the style. but as so much to the substance. Bar Siena impressed me, because here it seems to be different. Here, the food is really, really good. Everything our group tried we liked. We started with a plate of cheeses and charcuterie, that was very well presented. All the ingredients were delicious, and, was more than enough for 4 people. I had as my entrée a vegetable risotto with black truffles that was outstanding. The duck mac and cheese was almost as good. Very nice wine list as well. The service was OK. Not bad, but not great. My impression is that they hire very young and inexperienced servers. We ended up so full we skipped dessert, but I noticed their dessert selection was kind of skimpy. it was either donuts or gelato. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our dinner at Bar Siena.

Kind of had a feeling something was going to go wrong when the server explained that meals come out as they are ready. So why did the easiest brunch item take so long? And it was cold. That said, the manager took care of the problem dish by not charging us...does not happen at all places. I would try it again. Other meals were genuinely good and plentiful.

Enjoyed great good, wine and service on lovely outdoor patio with just enough heat lamps to create a cozy scene. Great energy on the street and both light great salads and the city’s best meatballs and pizza. Easy valet parking and friendly service topped off with a yummy Birthday donut made it a special evening!

Came her for brunch on Saturday a couple weeks ago and it wasn't crowded. We had a party of 8, 4 adults and 4 kids. We were seated upstairs in a huge booth. We were promptly greeted by our server. Our family ordered two of the steak and eggs breakfast, the truffle potato skins appetizer and a side of fries for the kids along with a cheese pizza. Food came out pretty quickly. The truffle potato skins were so good, crispy and the sauce that came with it complimented it nicely. Our steaks were done perfectly. One was medium, the other medium rare. It was tasty and my 4 year old who is a picky eater even loved it! The waffle potato hash was also good that comes with the mean. Parmesan fries = incredible! This place is really good. Nice and bright, good service and food. They even have a changing table in the restroom downstairs. We will be back!

Wonderful find! I hate to say it, but this was easily the best food on this trip. Bar Siena really does a great brunch! Emily took great care of us, she didn't judge, merely scored us on our decision making... Croque Madamé, Short Rib Hash, and breakfast Calzone. The house made breakfast sausage was flavorful and, well, to die for. I'd love to try it for lunch or dinner.

I visited Bar Siena by coincidence, since a friend and I had our eyes set on another restaurant in West Loop, but here the wait on a Thursday night was 3 hours. Instead we found this place, and were seated right away. The place is huge, but still with a cozy and comfortable ambiance, the food was delicious, and the service was perfect. Try the Short Rib Lasagna, it was absolutely yummie!

Bar Siena was not even our first choice for brunch on this sun washed Saturday in Chicago in the trendy Randolph Street area. We had a group of 6 and were really hungry. We waited almost an hour next door at Little Goat and opted instead for Bar Siena. Great choice! We got seated right away upstairs and our server was awesome! We had breakfast pizzas, salads, fruit smoothies, delicious craft beer, prosecco, Bombo Burger, Avocado Toast and a salad with Butternut Squash. Everything was great and we had plenty of food for later back at the hotel. The music sets the tone and the ambience is so cool. There is a huge tree growing up through the atrium and it opens up the whole place in a very unique way. Highly recommended and cannot wait to return.

Pizza with figs and ham was delish, great crust, wood fired. Girlfriend had a brunch dish of eggs bacon and hash browns which she enjoyed. The beer prices were reasonable and overall ambience was lively and friendly.

Tripped into this place by accident, and was very glad I did. Food was out of this world. Service was exceptional and the atmosphere was delightful.

The location and staff make this a terrific Siena option. The meatball antipasta was a favorite. So many delicious options but the mushroom truffle garlic pizza and the fig prosciutto arugula pizza were fantastic. Enjoyed the buratta wedge too. Can’t wait to come for dinner.

I took two colleagues to Bar Siena for dinner on a Tuesday evening. They only offered outdoor dining due to COVID and the temperature in Chicago was around 25'F. The enclosure and space heaters made the environment plenty comfortable. Our waiter Caesar was very good. We ordered the Quatro Frommage appetizer and it was the biggest hit of the meal. The entrees were all very enjoyable. I recommend them as a fine option for the Loop area of Chicago. There are many options and Bar Siena is a good one.

Had a fun night with co-workers at Bar Siena. The cocktails were made very authentic. The grilled octopus appetizer was wonderful and I had the short rib lasagna and it was well worth the money.

Amazing food, beautiful ambiance and delightful service. I would go again and again. Be sure to try the donuts!

This was our first visit but LOVE the Fulton Market area. Our new go to area for dining in the city. Great location, great vibe, and valet parking. Lively bar area on the main floor. Upstairs a nice dining area and a small area which they were hosting a private party. Everything was delicious....Burrata-MUST TRY!!!, beef tenderloin carpaccio very good but I'd choose the Burrata over this anyday. For dinner, we tried the short rib lasagna and the gnocchi. Very good, nice portions. For dessert, the bombolini....a big donut that you can infuse with your choice of filling. We tried the salted caramel, nutella and vanilla. NUTELLA!!!!

I had no idea where we were going to eat. Bar Siena is located in the International Terminal. So glad we found this restaurant. Service was great. Restaurant was clean. They were very conscientious about cleaning tables when customers left. Food was very good. I didn't rate higher as the parmesan on the fries was a lot. However I was able to remove. Fries should be offered as no parmesan option. Burgers were good. Prices were a little high but it is Chicago and it is airport food. The location was quiet. Kind of located at the end of the International Terminal. We are very glad we found Bar Siena. We will definitely dine there in 2026 when we travel again.

The food is ok (focaccia totally recommended as well as the drinks) but the ambiance is just amazing!!

Delicious food and wine. Went here on a date and ate so much. The appetizers are different but very good. Don’t be afraid to try thjnfa

I stopped by Bar Siena on a weekday afternoon -- it was bright, sunny, and perfect weather to eat lunch outdoors or at a window table, if you wanted to avoid the sun. Bar Siena serves very nice Italian pastas (and maybe pizza, but I did not try the pizza). I wanted to start with a salad, and my waiter recommended the the Bar Siena Chop salad which included artichokes, white beans, onions, salami, and was served with a smoked mustard vinaigrette dressing. He warned that it was large and that I would probably need to box the remainder home. Smaller salads were available, but they did not sound nearly as delicious. But, the salad was hardly huge at all....it was just a normal sized salad, but it was delicious. I had also ordered the house special gnocchi. The waiter said that the recipe was handed down to the chef by his Italian grandmother. The gnocchi were delicious and the sauce was made with prosciutto sausage and rapini. The dish was light and I felt glad that I had had the "large" salad. My only criticism of the gnocchi was that the gnocchi did not seem homemade -- they seemed mass produced. I finished with a bombolino -- an Italian donut. It was light and not too sweet, and with a double espresso, was a great way to finish my lunch.

Expensive steak dinner. Under cooked and fatty. Augratin potatoes so greasy I couldn’t eat them. Told waitress no apologies. Rude wait staff! Never again. 145 bucks out window.

We came here for cocktails and appetizers while we waited on a table at Au Cheval a block away. We had some burrata, meatballs and chicken wings. The wings were especially good. They were nice sized and had a good kick to them. This would be a good place to watch a game too.

Bar Siena is located in the west loop which is a nice area and has plenty of other eateries and bars around. The food was actually very tasty but the portions were a bit small for the price you pay. Service was good.

Everything was good except the kitchen forgot my flat bread! Our server was attentive and did his best but the kitchen got backed up on busy afternoon. Manager made an adjustment to our bill so it was fine. Besides the good was really good.

Had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday at Bar Siena. Food and service were impeccable. Our server was VERY informative and provided us with top notch service. The food was nothing short of stellar.

Good atmosphere, seems like a good place to catch a game. The food was really good, enjoyed the gnocchi.

I arrived with a group of 9 Senior Leaders for a Networking Dinner to check in for our 7pm reservation to find that there wasn't a reservation on file. I'm not going to lie I was a bit nervous upon learning that we didn't have a reservation on file, but my worry only lasted a few minutes, thanks to Alex and Emily!! Alex(Hostess) was very helpful and after assessing the situation spoke with the Manager Emily who was quick to provide multiple options We were offered a table immediately at Bandit (Their New sister bar restaurant across the street) or the option to wait 20 minutes for a table at Bar Sienna. We chose to wait and were not disappointed for a minute. I thanked Emily multiple times for being so quick to action and she commented "I wouldn't be doing my job if I couldn't find a way to help." It meant more than she knows. Then therewas Megan, our waitess, not only was she knowledgable, she never let a drink get empty which is a huge plus with our group. HUGE Kudos to Alex, Emily and Megan you all did a fantastic job!

We eat out constantly in the West Loop, and Bar Sienna is one of my favorites. It has a great ambiance and delicious Italian food. Everything I’ve had is good and the menu changes slightly for the seasons while preserving the classics. Highly recommend.

Lunch/Brunch time is busy but we reserved a table on OpenTable about a half hour before with no problems. Server was nice, atmosphere was lively and the decor is great. Maybe brunch is not a good time because the food preparation was not well done. -Bloody Mary with Goose: but tastes zero amount of alcohol. Garnishes were whatever - Carne Pizza: Not Great, thin crust so you think it should be a little crisp but actually very soggy where the piece would not hold up on its own, maybe from all the meat grease. -Grilled Octopus: Tasted fine and had good sauce, but not grilled long enough -Bombo Benedict: Had to send this back. Pork belly was way overcooked, so dry that it was difficult to cut through. Call me a pork belly snob, but this was pretty bad. Besides that egg was fine and good portion of pork belly - only if it were cooked properly. Pretty disappointing for an italian restaurant to not offer any pasta dishes during their daytime menu. Would come back during dinner time to try the pasta dishes - was not impressed with anything at Brunch.

I really want to give this place 5 stars but they play the music so loud I could barely hear myself talk. Not the best place if you’re trying catch up with a friend you haven’t seen in 6 years. As far as the food goes... delicious!!! That barrata appetizer was to die for... the gnocchi, delicious. I really want to go back, maybe I’ll see about sitting outside 😆.

Bar Siena is one of those bars that’s a hotspot on the hottest block in town. It’s crowded and has a lively vibe if you’re into that. It’s definitely not a place to go if you’re looking for some quiet time, however for a bar with people watching and mingling, it has a great social scene. The bartenders are fairly quick which is a plus it has a nice dark atmosphere. If you’re hanging out on Randolph this is probably one of the best spots to stop and get a drink.

Food, drinks and ambience combine into a totally enjoyable dining experience. Came here during the restaurant week tasting menu. All items around our table were made to perfection. Meatball sandwich may be the best around and the pizzas are superbly done with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of seasonings. Appetizers, main course and desert presentations were also done nicely. Loved the touch of injecting the filling into the freshly made bomboloni (holeless donuts) Gelatos we tasted were comparable to the best in Rome or Florence. All in all, a can't miss dining experience in Chicago.

Really enjoyed the octopus, bursts salad and pizza with meatballs. The highlight was a birthday bombolini they gave my friend who was celebrating Great service too. Will definitely come back!

Drove into town and picked a new place for lunch. I chose well. On a weekday at 1 it was packed. There’s a lit tree like thing that extends up in the middle to the second story. Pretty. We sat at a window table looking out on the street. Had a really nice waitress. Started with s cocktail made with tequila, green tea, grapefruit, etc. Good! We split their chopped salad which was excellent...full of salami, artichokes, pepperoncini, tomatoes, celery, cucumbers, etc. and then their fireball pizza covered in spicy pepperoni. Thin crust. Perfect. Loved our lunch here!

Five friends for lunch. Pecorino gravy and biscuit and egg was tasty but too heavy. Others having the salmon hollandaise sauce eggs were very happy with. Good coffee. We were in one of the large booths which I’m not too fond of, as it’s hard to hear around such a large table. But all in all a nice spot and I was able to make a last minute reservation there.

In town on business, I was happy to wander into Bar Siena. The menu was original. I had corn ravioli with wild mushroom and truffle butter. Nicely put together, just enough. Attentive staff made a solo dinner very enjoyable. Recommended.

Went with a group for dinner. The entrees are served as they are prepared and with the intent of sharing at the table. Consequently, ordering is a little confusing with a large group. Kind of pricing, though not unexpectedly so given the location, the food was good and the servers did a great job. Tough for a large group, but not impossible.

Great, friendly service, definitely a youthful buzz, very good food, happening randolph street atmosphere; owner happened to sit nearby and did a great job with suppressing the outdoor music each time (3x) it was turned up way too loud, too; thanks for that!

This place is amazing!!!! They change their menu every few months.. everything that I have tried is outstanding. Hope they get their fish n chips back in soon!! Best thing on the menu. Wifey and I visit every time we are in Chicago. :)

Was in town for a visit and my cousin suggested this place. While the food was very good, not great, the noise in this place is unbelievable!! A two story restaurant with no sound deadening insulation is not only odd, but unforgivable for a world class chef's restaurant. We had five people in a booth and had to YELL to hear the person sitting right next to us. Maybe the young college hipster crowd is used to this atmosphere, or lack thereof, but this just makes the rest of us not enjoy our meal. We liked the food but the sound will be a reason we won't return. Also, they have their take on classic cocktails. I ordered their take on an old fashioned,.. it was one of the worst drinks i've had. An old fashioned is a classic for a reason, it doesn't need to be fixed. Their version definitely needs to be fixed. Finally, our server only paid attention to part of our party, the young women. Very unprofessional. The fact that he didn't even try to hide his disdain and annoyance with the other people in the party was disgusting. This man would look away when others were ordering, ask several times what they ordered, because he was obviously not listening to them, or would give a quick short answer when asked a question, but give a verbose answer to the young woman when asked the same thing. Second reason to not go back, service.

Gnocchi and a rib lasagna were two twists on traditional Italian that were done well. They were filling enough to have not sampled from what looked like a good dessert menu. Solid wine list. A bit too loud, but what isn’t these days. Valet parking for the so inclined.

We chose Bar Siena on OpenTable because they had an excellent gluten free menu for my niece, and we were so pleased. Aside from being GF friendly, its an outstanding restaurant and bar. We stopped in a Saturday afternoon and it was packed (glad we had that reservation!). They have two bars and lots of TV screens for sports, but it's not loud or overcrowded with just sports fans. They have great beer, wine and cocktail selections as well. We ordered the charcuterie and some sides. The meat and cheese selections are all local (with one notable exception of prosciutto di parma) and the waiter(Ian) was very knowledgeable about the presentation. We also loved the caulflower, burrata and brussel sprouts sides we ordered...it was a bit more like tapas for us that afternoon, but the main selections all looked terrific. There didn't seem to be one person in the place that wasn't having a great time. The service was great from the moment you are greeted until you depart. I cannot wait to return to Bar Siena and try more menu options.

One of the many spots along restaurant row is Bar Siena. It comes with a lot of hype and expectation as do many of the places along Randolph St. Unfortunately, this did not live up to what I was expecting. It has all the trappings of a hot spot, hard to get into, backed up valet, the seen and be seen crowd, etc. We started out with a bevy of apps before placing out entre order. The potato skins were more like potato peel cracklin, the grilled octopus was great but the accompanying shishitto peppers were mush. The other apps we had were also hit n miss except for the burrata which was excellent. The entres came later as our server did a good job of spacing out the meal. We were not rushed in our 2 1/2 hr experience and that's the way we liked it. My dinner was the "32 oz" prime grade bone-in ribeye that I was looking forward to sharing with the group. How can you sell a 32 oz rib for only $59? Turns out they can't. Despite his assurance it was indeed 32 oz, when delivered, it barely cleared 18 oz, I'm certain. LOL. In any event it was cooked accurately albeit a bit short in the hoof.I give it 3/5 stars as it could have been better seasoned with a better char. The whipped potatoes and brussel sprouts were poor, cool to the touch and also poorly seasoned. For such a high profile name, in a high profile neighborhood, I don't just don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Came here for dinner with colleagues. We were in a large booth which made it hard for all to participate in conversation. However, the service was great- drinks and food were good to excellent. Pricing was what you'd expect.

We had a group of 6 and shared our initial orders and then each had our own entrees. This worked beautifully. Start with a pizza to share: thin very crispy crust, great starter. It is very noisy with conversation and loud music.

Four of us came here during Chicago's restaurant week for 3 course fixed price dinner, plus a few drinks. Salads and soups were very good, pasta good, and the short rib lasagna left a lot to be desired. Place was pleasant but loud and wait staff overly attentive, coming by at least a dozen times to see if "everything was ok" and did we need more drinks. We gave the waiter a credit card for payment and received the credit card form to sign with total and place for tip. We received no check detail. It seemed high, so we estimated the fixed price dinners and drinks. Still seemed high. When we saw the waiter, we made the inquiry. Response was tip was already included. This was never stated previously. The more I have thought about it the past couple of weeks the more I'm convinced the process was intentional to get another tip added to the credit card slip. There are many great restaurants in this city. Will not return here.

Eaten here for dinner and brunch several times and never left disappointed. Must try is the roasted meatball appetizer, one of the pastas (favorite is sweet corn ravioli or lobster agnolotti) or a pizza (favorite is wild mushroom and garlic). Save room for bomboloni. Bar downstairs usually busy, lively space. Tables upstairs for bit quieter dining. Make a reservation. Cool lighted tree going from middle of the bar up to 2nd floor.

The bar is spacious and very friendly. The service people and bartenders are very knowledgeable and helpful. A great place to bring a date where you can talk and share different dishes.

Great place for a business dinner the service was outstanding from the bartender Who helped us in the beginning to the waiter who serviced us dinner. The lasagna was amazing however I couldn’t finish it it was too much. The octopus and meatballs we had as appetizers We’re delicious. Sidenote those are separate items not serve together, just for clarity. I will say that I had entree envy as I should’ve ordered the lamb chops as those were the show stealer of our table.

We came here for dessert only at the outdoor Bomba cafe. We placed our gelato orders on the outside tablet computers and received a text message when they were ready to pick up. All of us loved each flavor and the toppings. Would definitely recommend.

I️ have been to Bar Sienna a few times now and each has been consistent! The bar staff is friendly and attentive. They multi task well and keep my drink refilled! I️ also love their menu for a quick bite or a casual dinner. Everything I’ve tried has been delish however I️ am particular to the meatballs! Great atmosphere and location. Perfect for a before or after dinner drink or a date night!

We waited about 20-25 minutes after being seated outside (with a reservation) for water, a hello, anything -- and at 4:20 on a Friday when it wasn't even too terribly crowded. We finally had to go inside and ask for a server. Three of us split a pitcher of sangria which we swiftly discovered was basically watered down grape juice at outrageous prices. The food, however, was amazing, thank goodness! We shared the burrata, a shrimp appetizer, the zucchini salad (a fave!), and the risotto, which was wonderful. Too bad they can't match the service to the food! And take the sangria off the menu, it's embarrassing.

Girls day out was completed with this excellent meal! Loved everything about our time here. The ambiance, wait staff, and especially the food! Great appetizers with the burrata and their spin on potato skins which were delicious. We all had pasta and each were exceptionally good but my favorite was the bucatini cacio e pepe. It was a nice summer day so they had their front windows open and also have outdoor seating available. Great place to hang out and enjoy some food and drinks.

We happened by this beautiful bar while we were waiting for a table a the restaurant next door. We should have stayed for dinner. the drinks were absolutely amazing! The red sangria was the best I've ever had, and my husband had the Number 18, which was spot on delicious! Though it was crowded, we seated ourselves at the bar area and had a super enjoyable time.

They have a pretty decent seleccion of beer, but what I liked the most was the very friendly service we got while there.

WOW! What a pleasant surprise! We had no idea it was a Fabio Viviani restaurant, rather my mom and I were looking for somewhere close to our hotel that was too late for breakfast but early for lunch. We stopped by Bar Siena and the service was over the top. Our table side server was outstanding! The support staff (the guy who cleared our plates and watered our glasses) did not miss a beat! It was an experience that we truly enjoyed. Oh, and the food was A-MAZING!!! Baked lasagna with melted cheese, sauce and more! I cannot wait to go back!

Came with a friend on a Friday night for drinks and appetizers while waiting for our table at Au Cheval. What great vibe! When you walk into the nicely lit space, you're greeted with lively music. We sat at the bar and was promptly attended to, which I did not expect for a busy night. I had wine and my friend had a cocktail. After trying hers, I ordered one for myself. Cocktails are hit or miss for me and this was definitely a hit. It's called No. 3. For appetizers, we ordered the burrata and the wings. Didn't realize the plates would be so big, because we were definitely full with just those. Both were delicious, btw. While their dessert bar is highly recommended and I saw a line outside for their take out counter, neither of us had the space for it. And we had to save room for our real dinner at Au Cheval! But definitely plan on ordering it if you're able. All in all, a great visit and would come here again and try other things on the menu. And dessert, of course!

The West loop area is a very fun new place we hadn't tried yet. The wait staff is very attentive and the food is outstanding. There were 5 people in our party. The dishes are shareable so we ordered an app, salad, three entrees, and three deserts. I had the Prisoner Cabernet to drink, I highly recommend this cab. The duck mac and cheese was my favorite entree and the chopped salad was a great salad choice.

Quality food and a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Excellent choice for lunch. Location is convenient to downtown and the west side.

Was excited to visit Bar Siena based on reviews and reputation. We were six people seated in a booth in the upstairs area. The environment is causal and busy. The design of the booth was very uncomfortable. Waitress was friendly and professional but the food came out so quickly there was not time to enjoy a cocktail. Similarly for the main courses. Our meal was over in no time. All of the appetizers were tasty but nothing special. I had a salad for the main course that was mediocre. I don't think I'd return to this restaurant.

After the Randolph Street Market we were looking for a quick lunch. There was a decent wait so we opted for the bar. Comfortable and great service. Nice beer selection and great menu. Brunch was available and tempting but we settled for the delicious Potato Soup, Shaved Butternut Salad and an amazing Meatball Mozzarella Calzone. So glad we stopped in. Everything was so nicely prepared, truly tasty (cherry pumpkin seed vinaigrette? Please give me that recipe!!) and it didn’t break the bank. Upon leaving I asked if they are related to the downtown Sienna Tavern?? Yes, they are. That explains a lot. That place is one of our Fav’s upon visiting Chicago. Now we have two to return to.

One mistake after another, mediocre food and a very loud environment. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an ok place and might be great for some.... but I won’t be back. There are too many other places that are leaps better.

We ordered 2 fig and prosciutto pizzas and 2 chopped salads to share. Meatballs appetizer was delicious! Girls had Prosecco to drink. Service was outstanding and friendly! Loved the atmosphere and custtomer service. Lovely experience!

Good food and location but the price for what you get is a little steep. Staff were very pleasant and the outdoor area when the weather is nice is great.

Perhaps I'm not their desired demographic but I cannot see how this nice restaurant is so highly rated. It's a very loud trendy bar with overpriced and average food. Starting with our server who had to shout to be heard I was confused. Apps were very good focaccia, ok meatballs and nearly inedible octopus. The grilled octopus was actually burnt/charred and some inedible. How they could serve it was beyond me. Mains included the well liked lasagna, too rich for me, chicken which was liked, ribs which were average and my highly overrated gnocchi. Their consistency was mushy and unpalatable while the prosciutto meatballs were rock hard and overcooked. Flavor was nice but.... Bombalinis for dessert were very tasty. If you want a beer and donut I'd recommend this joint but think twice before coming for dinner with a group larger than 4. I won't be back with all the other options available in the area.

I asked the reception at our hotel where to go for good italian food and they told me about Bar Siena and thank god they did. My wife had the Pizza Carne and it was soooo good. I had the Short Rib Lasagna. The waitress came and asked if everything was in order and I told her that the Pizza was perfect but the lasagna was missing all flavor. It was not bad but just missing all flavor. She told me that the general manager would come and have a word with us. I told him the same but also told him that I was not complaining but he told me to pick another meal from the menu, he wanted us to be happy with the food. I could not chose so I asked him to pick something and after 5 minutes he brought the Gnocchi with proscuitto and oh my god, it was so wonderful. We then asked for the check and noticed that they did not charge us for the Lasagna or the Gnocchi. They blew us away with the service and ofcourse the food. Also the place is really nice and trendy. Would love to go there again. Best regards from Iceland. Nokkvi S

Finally made it to Bar Siena! I had heard good things about it but totally met my expectations. Great Food! Great Drinks! Great People! Best Bartender - Marko. Can't wait for the next time I travel to Chicago.

Started with the hummus and burrata appetizers. Kale and garlic hummus was so good, I almost ate it by myself. It was served with a large, bready pita that was delicious. We had the duck Mac and cheese and the cace de pepe pasta as well as the lobster pasta. All three were very good. Roasted cauliflower and risotto rounded out the meal. Just ok to me but the rest of my party finished them. Good beer, good drinks and good service but very noisy.

Had a very pleasant dinner while here on a business trip. The staff and manager provided excellent service and just the right amount of attentiveness. The gnocchi was delicious and I wish I had enough room to finish the tiramisu for dessert. The house made limoncello was a nice accompaniment.

We have driven past Bar Siena many times, looked like a cool place but just thought it was a West Loop bar. Read some good reviews about it, so stopped in for dinner tonight. Wow! This place is not only comfy with a cool vibe. The service is outstanding and the food is off the charts delicious...you must try this place. We had a server named Anna who was attentive, sweet and made our meal even better with her terrific service. The food was outstanding. The wood fire carne pizza was perfectly cooked; layers of flavors with all the meats. The Bar Siena Chop salad was an orchestra of flavors that worked beautifully together. For dessert, you must try their Italian donuts and gelato. This was an overall outstanding experience. I would recommend Bar Siena to everyone and I will be back and I will ask for Anna as my server. BTW, Bar Siena management needs to give Anna a raise - she made the night for us. By the way: There is valet parking. Great beer and wine list too. Enjoy!

I've been to many different restaurants throughout the states, and I have never had the excellent service we received from Annie. She was helpful in recommending dishes, her service was attentive, she was friendly; I mean it was such a wonderful experience. This young lady made sure we enjoyed our meal. We were surprised when she told us it was her first day working by herself. Bravo to her trainer(s). Employees like her are the ones who will have out-of-towners like me wanting to return to your location and recommending it to all.

Stopped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for two! We had probably one of the the best old fashioneds. The bartender was kind enough the write down the recipe. Cool vibe.

Great night spot for the young crowd with an awesome menu. A little loud but ok. Wait staff was very considerate of food allergy.

As a huge fan of Siena Tavern, I was excited to visit Bar Siena. It did not disappoint! The more casual restaurant is in an ideal West Loop location, which provides great energy/ vibrant bar scene. I enjoyed the Roasted Meatballs, Carne Pizza, and Gnocchi. The BomboBar is brilliant.

I have gone here a few times and I always love it! The service is so great, the food is amazing and the drinks a refreshing. There is also an amazing dessert place inside/outside called Bombo bar and you MUST try something from there. I love the donut covered in fruity pebbles and the bombolinis. I also love the pizza! There are so many interesting options for pizza and my favorite has the be the one with a bunch of different meats. Definitely check this place out and the area around it is super cute as well!

Four of us sent to eat in the Fulton market area. Being Monday, many places were closed. We got a table at Bar Siena on the Internet. This was America/Italian food pretending to be posh. High prices and small ( by US) standards don't make it a sophisticated dining experience. Our waiter brought the wrong wine, then but both bottles on the bill. My gnocchi were cold as was the risotto. The waiter tried to make it good by bringing free doughnuts.

We accidentally found this gem after the wait was too long at another nearby restaurant. Great cocktails and decent selection of beers. Tried the burrata and short rib lasagna, both of which were excellent. My son enjoyed his meatball and mozzarella calzone which was very large. Lively atmosphere and good service.

2nd time I visited this restaurant and simply love it. The industrial styling of this place is great. Downstairs is a huge bar, perfect when you need to wait for a table but I would also go here just for drinks. Upstairs is the main restaurant area. The menu offers diverse Italian dishes, including pasta and pizza’s. The appetizers are delicious. I recommend to share 2 starters and 1 main for 2 persons. We took the shrimp with artichoke and the Taleggio which is served between grilled bread. As a main we shared the Prosciutto/Vig pizza, which was also great. I would recommend to make reservations for Saturday. Sunday seems to be fine however to just walk in.

Found by chance, we had an aperitif with great beers and delicious fries. Friendly and friendly staff

We happened to arrive on time to catch a table outside! We shared our plates. Burrata, meatballs, Brussel sprouts, gnocchi, meat pizza, and truffle risotto! Our two appetizers arrived. Then all the rest of the plates came at once! We didn’t expect that; but it was okay. The Burrata has apricot and pistachios with it and the flavors were very complementary. The Brussel sprouts had a great charr to them. The pizza was very thin with a substantial amount of meat on it! The risotto was great with squash and peas and not overpowering truffle oil! We were full and had no room for dessert. Our waiter was very attentive! Great place in the West Loop!

We had burrata to start with (shared it) and then two pizzas, fig and arugula and sausage, great stuff, amazing combos!

We were looking for a fun place to have a family get together on a recent Sunday afternoon, Bar Siena has large tables and we were able to make a reservation. Great location on Randolph in the West Loop. Menu has a nice mix that appeals to all tastes. Our group opted for an assortment of appetizers and pizzas for the table to share. The brussels sprouts and cauliflower apps were excellent. The meatball apps were ok but pricey for the amount in an order. The pizzas were all very good, we especially liked the one with fig and prosciutto. The carne pie was also great. Service was good although a bit slow at times. That seemed to be attributed to the fact that we were upstairs (unfortunately this is where the larger tables are). We did have a great time and would recommend Bar Siena.

Gnocchi was to die for!! Had the fried mozzarella...fantastic! The bartender was very helpful for my first visit!

We both had burgers for lunch, yhey tasted great, the best thing about the meal was the fries!! Definitely recommend a visit!

The food was delicious but I can't say same thing about the service. Caesar didn't even come to check on us and the guy cleaning the tables did more work that the waiter. I will give it one more try since the food was good.

I've been to Bar Sienna 3 or 4 times and each visit has been memorable. From great drinks to pizzas, sandwiches and salmon, the food does not disappoint.

We have never set foot in this restaurant and with "very loud" being one of its recurring criticisms likely never will. Covid 19 has given us a reason to stay home for the past year, enjoying delivery from many restaurants still afloat. As Restaurant Week rolled around we thought we'd give Bar Siena a try. Unlike most of the lunches on offer for $25 pp during the event Bar Siena was offering just two courses, not 3( Boo!) from their short menu. We ordered a tomato bisque, a Ceasar salad, a Bombo Burger and an order of Caccio e Pepe which for some unknown reason had a $7 upcharge. We searched through the pasta when it came hoping to find maybe chunks of lobster or some black truffles but alas found none. There was also a 10% charge for fulfilling an online order. Then a delivery charge and a tip for the driver and city tax so the $25 pp totaled $79! A cash grab. We wanted to try their food and our stomachs were saying "It's only money" We caved in. Doordash dropped the bag of food at our door as requested. Contact-free is good. The tomato bisque was full of tomato flavor. Thick and velvety smooth with two little grilled cheese sandwiches, one of which was eaten straight out of the plastic container before it could be plated. Simple and delicious! I had the cheeseburger with pickles and it was tasty. Thin patty-maybe 1/4 inch but good quality beef. Not a threat to the burgers nearby at Au Cheval nor to the 5 Guys offering but did I mention I was hungry? Good cheese and fresh crunchy pickles. Red onion. It came with an order of well-done parmesan fries (although the CRW menu didn't list them.) They were crispy and crunchy, almost to a fault as there wasn't that soft pillowy potato flavor once past the hard crunchy shell. I ate all of them though. My Caesar salad was a mini-portion that caused some laughter as we unpacked it. Alas no croutons. Lettuce and some garlicy dressing. Fail. The caccio e pepe was eaten by a connoisseur of this simple dish. Her only complaint was that it lacked salt in the cooking process. As Joe Bastianich of Eataly and Masterchef fame says- "you have to salt the pasta water like the ocean" She added some to her dish, which is not ideal but that's life in the Big City. She did eat every strand. Did I mention we were hungry? Alas no dessert option. The food was good. The value for the spend raised an eyebrow. The extra charges dismayed.

Absolutely love this place. Great pasta, amazing dessert, and cool sides. The ambiance is really nice for dates or a big group of friends. I recommend requesting a table upstairs, and definitely try a bombo!

One of my neighborhood favorites! Great for brunch or lunch. Lots of great options and drinks. On the more expensive side but still amazing... they make awesome pizza too!

Had lunch here. Companion had gnocchi and I had risotto. Both were excellent. I've had wonderful meals throughout Italy on several trips and must say that Bar Siena measured up. Disappointing that when I called last summer to see if they were showing the Palio on a big screen, they had no idea what I was talking about. Show the Palio! Throw a party for the event!
Delicious food, great people watching!
We dined outdoors on a very hot evening when a local music fest was happening just down the street. The cocktails were refreshing, and the fig-prosciutto pizza and burrata-wedge salad were delicious. The gelato and fried donuts were the perfect finishing touch. I hope to return on a cooler, slightly less hectic evening.
