We live in the area and are beyond impressed Bar-Bacoa. The chef is dedicated to creating exceptional dishes. The pozole is one of the best representations I have experienced. The bar is efficiently run with bartenders who understand and respect a fine cocktail. The margaritas are crafted to perfection. I know this sounds too good to be true however worth a visit. They offer some great specials however even without the deals this place is legit.

Finally had the opportunity to dine here. Shalon our server was excellent. A relaxing atmosphere even with TVs showing my Georgia Bulldogs in action! You have to try the Tortilla soup-it's fantastic!! I totally enjoyed my goat cheese fritters, brisket mac& cheese and lamb barbacoa taco!!! All well seasoned, served hot and very tasty. There are so many choices..I still have at least 5 others I will love to try...next visit...real soon!

Everything was great, the brunch burger, huevas rancheros and chicken and waffles were really good. Chicken and waffles a really big hit. Good service and nice patio atmosphere. We'll be back! Thanks to the great staff.

Barbacoa in the Virginia Highlands has the most amazing and unique food!! I loved everything that I ordered and what my friend ordered too! Staff was so helpful and professional so it was an awesome experience. I absolutely recommend this restaurant with 5 gold stars!

Ate at Bar.bacoa with friends 2 nights ago. Great experience. We opted to sit on the patio (which is shared by 2 other restaurants). It was hopping and it did take about 20 mins after being seated for a service person to come to our table. But, in her defense, it was packed and she was the only server working the patio. She apologized and she was working her tail off. This is a small plate restaurant which I like because you get to try a lot of things. I started with the wedge salad...a bit heavy on the dressing, but delicious. For dinner I had dates wrapped in bacon (adventurous for me, but they were great), the spicy shrimp (also excellent). Our table tried lots of different things (calamari, scallops, gaszpaucho, etc. All excellent. Would definitely go back. Very good drinks as well

Everything we ordered was excellent; the tacos couldn't be better, fresher, and served beautifully. I had the Korean beef taco and the tempura avocado. My husband had the brisket, mac and cheese. Neither of us could praise them enough. And since a major thunderstorm was raging outside, we tried to wait it out, so we had dessert, tres leches cake. I've never had better. Service with a smiling (even under the mask) Jacob couldn't have been better. And I have to mention that thunderstorm again. We had parked a few blocks away, so my husband went to get the car--with an umbrella offered by the hostess. When he arrived, the host came out and made sure I made it through the flooded curb to the car. Such thoughtfulness.

Delicious meal. Louis was a super nice waiter and took great care of us! The food was absolutely yummy. The Mexican street corn and poblano & corn empanadas were amazing tapas. The pork carnitas taco and trailer park (fried chicken ) tacos were great! Thanks!!!

After all the hype we had heard about the restaurant, we have to say we were a little disappointed. The wait staff wasn't friendly at all. It seemed like we were keeping them away from doing something else. The food was rather bland and flavorless.

Our family loves a good tapas outing. It is always fun to order a bunch of small plates to share and have a taste of several different dishes. And, if the menu seems vaguely familiar, it is because according to our waitress, Bar bacoa is the old Noche Restaurant reinvented. One son was thrilled to find his favorite Trailer Park Taco had been resurrected and I was happy to sample the half roasted cauliflower.

This is our regular go to spot for Mexican. It's a great walk from our house when the weather is nice. The service and food are always consistently good. We go here weekly. The baked queso with crispy chips is my weekly indulgence. All the dishes we have ordered here are fresh and delicious. If you're visiting the VA-HI or Morningside neighborhoods in Atlanta, stop by. It has a patio when the weather is warm.

We have gone here a number of times since moving here in the fall. Comfortable covered patio, excellent food and cocktails and good, friendly service. Love the trailer park tacos. Sounds odd but they are my favorite. And I'm from Texas.

Really enjoyed the newly opened Bar Bacoa. Fried lobster, scallops and meatballs were all great as were mixed drinks. Service was great and a fun atmosphere.

My husband, adult son, and I went to BarBacoa on a Saturday night for dinner. The reservation process was very efficient and accommodating. Service, drinks and food were amazing. They have a tapas and taco menu that has a wide variety for every palette. Some of the items we had were lobster taco, mussels, lamb taco, empanadas, and Korean style taco. Everything was so good. And they are generous with their drinks. We’ll be back to BarBacoa!!

A cute little place in the heart of the walkable Virginia Highlands area. The service was great & the appetizers were delicious but we chose not to stay here for dinner as planned as they had live music playing & it was incredibly loud for such a small place. We were out for a date night & had no desire to yell at each other due. We are young, we love live music but there is still a limit on how high you can handle the volume at a restaurant - should never be nightclub volumes. May try again but only if there is not music playing.
