A fine table-setting and an interesting menu, specializing in Northern Italian cuisine. The service was smooth & attentive, but not overly so

Barolo was a lovely spot for Italian Food. The pastas were fresh, hot and very flavorful. Also, the burrata with tomatoes was memorable; we really enjoyed our waiter who gave great recommendations and then gave us total privacy throughout the meal. I advise anyone to sit in the back as it is a little cozier and more intimate.

Fairly good experience overall. Ambiance was nice (modern/upscale, not too bright) but noisy (hard to hear each other). The bread service was delicious. Our appetizer (octopus) was good but a bit salty. The gnocchi in the gnocchi/rabbit dish was lovely and light, but the overall dish was a bit too salty to our taste (with a strong taste of celery? might just not have been to my taste). We also had a seafood pasta dish (cooked in parchment), which was well-cooked but a bit salty. But the server was attentive and helpful, and the experience was good overall. I likely wouldn't go out of my way to go here, but if you are in a hotel near the Convention center it isn't a bad choice.

Glitzi, modern décor, nicely spaced tables, noise level is pretty high, people shouting over the music but everyone seems happy! Quite an extensive menu plus daily specials. Grilled squid was a real standout among the appetizers. Portions are about the right size. A bit of a break between appetizers and mains ensures leisurely dining. Extensive wine list, heavy on Italian. Desserts are a bit predictable. Our server was efficient and helpful....with a good sense of humour. Good food and good time!

Booked a business dinner reservation at Barolo. It was good, but not memorable and not worth a return visit in a city like Seattle where there are so many great restaurants. Three guests ordered four plates to share. Sautéed Calamari, Pasta with Scallops, Veal Ravioli and Wild Boar Loin Chops. The calamari dish was excellent, the ravioli was dry and tough with a tasteless sauce. I questioned if it was leftover pot roast. The inconsistency of the food was disappointing, but the waitress sealed the deal. She spoke so softly we had to ask her to repeat everything twice and she hovered over the table to the point of making the party uncomfortable. We passed on dessert/after dinner drinks and went around the corner. Ok, but not nearly as good as the hype!

This is a typical Seattle Italian restaurant. You wouldn’t find a place like this in Italy but my meal was decent. It’s the music they play that can drive you to distraction. Okay, so we don’t need Dean Martin singing That’s Amore, but really the pounding beat of a dance club? It was so distracting I had to ask if they could lower it or change it. Well they didn’t change it but they did lower it. If you read the other reviews clearly I am in the minority. But there’s no accounting for taste in this town 😉

This restaurant seems to be known for large groups, we were one of 4 large tables. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We ordered multiple antipasto dishes, dinners ordered included the Vitello, Controfiletto, Costolette and Branzino. The server was kind enough to put together a dessert assortment platter. Recommend for a group evening out.

Every time we visit Seattle we stop by Barolo. We have never left disappointed. The buratta salad, the beet salad and the gnocchi were all delicious. Service is good and a great atmosphere in the bar area where we always choose to sit.

Having visited the sister restaurant Cinque Terre the previous week, we decided to try Barolo too and were not disappointed. This family run Italian is so welcoming and well run. Being a Sunday when we went, we were able to enjoy "Happy Hour" which runs all day on a Sunday. We sat at the bar and were well looked after by Rob M. again. We shared a tasty starter of Calamari alla Livornese and this was followed by a Miso marinated Sable fish and Washington Beef shoulder, both expertly cooked. Once again the house white wine was lovely and greatly enjoyed.

We wondered why the staff seemed so off. Then the owner showed up. Berated the staff in the front of the house. It was very uncomfortable to watch. Ruined the evening. I would not put another penny in that man’s pocket.

The atmosphere is good and have a great wine selection either from Italy and from the US. Food is good however I have to say in the years (I always come here when I come to Seattle) quality and sophistication went down

We have going to Barolo for years and to be honest this last time was disappointing. We arrived on a Monday at 6:00 with very little traffic, and we retrieved a table without reservations or issue. Service started out ok but as the house filled up service slid down hill rapidly!! While service wasn’t what we’ve had in years past, the food was still stellar! We love the place! Just hope it doesn’t lose its quaint little place in the big city.

Really nice restaurant (with linen table cloths) with inviting ambiance. Relatively small menu but lots of good options. We got the sea bass in puttanesca sauce and the duck breast with wild mushrooms and figs. Both were excellent! (Portion sizes are not large, so we might have shared an appetizer or salad before. Perhaps next time.) Regardless, we went home very happy. Very nice wine list (by the bottle and by the glass). Great service. Reservations necessary; this is a very popular place. The bar side of the restaurant was also very popular -- they have happy hour menus and prices that looked inviting. Overall we were totally delighted with our meal here.

I stumbled upon this restaurant on a recent trip to Seattle. The food was amazing! The hostess was very friendly.

This restaurant is a must for happy hour. Food and drink must be in the bar. $18 bottles of house wine and delicious half price menu. Get there early for a seat as there could be a long wait.

Celebrated our 51st anniversary and we were very pleased with this restaurant. We were from out of town and chose this restaurant based on close location to our hotel and various online reviews and were not disappointed.

We visited with two friends and we had an amazing experience . I ordered the mezaluna pasta filled with spinach and ricotta cheese and it was one of the best pasta dishes I had tried . They have a vast variety of wines and the ambiance is warm with dim lights and plenty of candles . Highly recommend

Excellent atmosphere for Dinner. My group sat at bar and had great service from Heidi . She was a class bartender. Really awesome happy hour specials. Rumor has it this is a famous Nordstrom Management hang out. Appetizers and Pasta dishes delicious. Will be back again.

This was a great find. I picked it because it was close to our hotel but it was wonderful. Great service and good menu options. Helpful and efficient staff. The food was just fantastic. Loved the entire dining experience.

Ambience was excellent The food was average and did not live up to the environment Wine selection good and desert somewhat saved the meal Would I go again No

A friend and I attended an exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum and were then looking for a place to eat lunch around 12:15 p.m. We soon learned that summer in the city without restaurant reservations can be problematic. Place after place estimated a 45-minute wait until we reached Barolo, where we were greeted warmly and told we could be seated in 5 minutes. That happened, and we quickly received a bottle of tap water and menus. The lunch special consisted of two specific courses — salad and calamari — for $22. But we both opted for sandwiches. I chose a veggie with fries ($14) and my friend ordered a lamb and beef burger with salad ($16). They both proved to be delicious. My ample portion brimmed with high-quality ingredients, such as goat cheese, grilled eggplant, greens, grilled red onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. The fries were crispy and non-greasy, just the way I like them. My friend was extremely happy with her choice. Service was perfect — prompt, professional and attentive. The restaurant had a simple, upscale ambiance with white cloths on the tables in the long, narrow room and unadorned tables in booths, which is where we sat. Windows along Westlake Avenue let in plenty of natural illumination, always a plus in Seattle. Customers sat at all the tables and seemed to be engaged in lively conversations, but the noise level was not high. I plan to return here for dinner but will definitely make a reservation.

This was my first time to Barolo. It would have been a 5-star experience except for two things: 1) we had a reservation for 10 people for 7 pm and we didn't get seated until 8:00 pm 2) New York city prices in Seattle I will say that once we got seated, the service was top notch. And the food and wine was excellent. We had numerous fresh appies to start and then i proceeded with a delicious organic salad as my starter. My main was the Chilean sea bass which was excellent. We finished off the meal with a nice selection of desserts and port. Overall, an excellent dining experience in Seattle.

A wonderful Italian restaurant with great food. Our service was great and the bread, appetizers, and main courses were all prepared perfectly. Our waitress, Sophia was very nice and absolutely beautiful.

We went here for lunch service. The food was enjoyable, but the service left something to be desired. It is a beautiful restaurant with a great menu.

This is a fine dining Italian restaurant, open late into the night. I was at bar area and the bartender made some fine manhattans. The food was worth the price. I had a Filete Al Barolo and salad. The filete was one of the best I had. It was tender, juicy and flavorful. The dessert was pretty good. Service is fine. They had a staff shortage at the bar, it was a tad slow. But, given the pandemic it is okay to deal with it.

Visited Barolo to celebrate our anniversary recently and it was fabulous! From the Happy Anniversary noted on the menus to the sparkler with the desert the staff really made us feel special. We brought some friends and everyone enjoyed their entrees. The food and service never disappoints!

The prices have gone up and the food quality has gone down a bit but you can blame the city of Seattle for that since they are taxing everyone to death. Barolo has always had a decent happy hour with a budget friendly bottle of wine and great apps for half price. All the servers are very friendly and helpful, its also a great place for a romantic, elegant evening.

Friendly and professional staff round out this really good dining experience on the edge of Downtown towards the Seattle Centre Area. Bookings recommended especially for the 1/2 price happy hour (Sundays and other times). Enjoy Penne, Spaghetti and other traditional Italian fare. Good luck and enjoy!

Barolo Ristorante was recommended to us by our hotel concierge and I'm so happy they did. We landed a table on their patio and enjoyed a wonderful dinner as a great start to our vacation. The food was freshly prepared, came quickly, and was served by a friendly and efficient server. The pasta dish and salad that we had were nicely presented and well-seasoned. I do suggest giving it a try if you are in the Seattle area!

My boyfriend took me here for a birthday dinner. It was beautiful. The food and service were excellent. It was a busy Saturday night and we still felt like we got personalized service.

Barolo's food was awesome, especially the grilled Cesear salad, morels, and salmon with risotto. The service was very good too.

Started with the Tuna Tarter and loved it, they make it like no other place, it feels like the messaged the tuna before putting on the plate! The main courses I had the daily special, Halibut, it was good but after the Tuna, I had higher expectations. The service was superb! Our server Noel provided as good service as I have ever had! Wine list is very Italian so come ready.

What a fun place - people of all ages - birthday parties going on - and the food was wonderful. I had the special - Scottish Steel head with squid ink risotto and it was lovely.

Great experience from beginning to end. The food, drinks, and service are all A+!!! We will come back for sure! I am sharing pictures of the tagliere di prosciutto, polipo con patate, spaghetti alla carbonara, tiramisu, latte, and lemon drop. I cannot wait to try other dishes ❤️

On a recent visit to Seattle we stumbled on the most awesome Italian restaurant. From the minute we walked in the door we were engulfed in genuine Italian hospitality and love for the food they serve. Everything about our visit was awesome, the staff, the food, the wine and the genuine authentic Italian love for food. We have seldom felt so welcome in a restaurant as this one. Will definitely be back next time we in Seattle!

This is our first visit to Barolo; my husband and I took the advantage of Seattle Restaurant Week to try out places we never been before. We were very pleased with Barolo's menu, each course of three was nicely prepared. In spite of the busy Restaurant Week the service was attentive. The ambiance was pleasant too. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a great selection of entrées and dishes between 6 of us. Was defeated by the sheer amount of food, but the flavours, presentation and the overall quality was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful; the wine menu was excellent.

Portions are large. The caprese salad was good. The mixed salad was fresh but over salted and oily. Eggplant Parmesan was a half of an eggplant with tomato sauce and cheese - not parmigiana. The risotto with lobster was good but the lobster overcooked. At no time did our server ask if we were satisfied. The restaurant is beautiful but pretentious and the food is hit and miss.

After a few nights in Seattle, we came upon Barolo and were pleasantly surprised. This was our last night, and Barolo made for a great relaxing dinner. The food was great, and our server was good. Would go here again and recommend this place. It was a lot pricey, so if you are on a tight food budget, I probably wouldn't recommend it. Again, food, atmosphere, and server were great

Barolo exemplifies the up market Italian restaurant. Not cheap, but with excellent food, a good wine list, and a lively atmosphere. The calamari to start was tasty, and the Osso buco to follow was delicious and of a good size. Strongly recommended even if you don't work for Apple, whose new headquarters are just over the road.

Such a great evening! Heidi was an amazing hostess. Everything else was closed but we had a great time and met lots of locals.

Two courses and a bottle of wine should not cost $180. The food was good. The ambience was good. The service was good. BUT We only had two courses. We only had one bottle of ok wine. How did we spend $180?????? Value for money was not good.

We had a really nice dinner with friends. We all enjoyed nice Italian specialties. Spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti with seafood and octopus. Nice ambiance, but a little noisy. Excellent service.

My first visit. I arrived about 8:15 and could have been seated in the lovely dining room or opposite the bar. I chose the latter. First problem: the music is aggravating and too loud. Second: my little table next to the door was wobbly, and I had to bend down to try to stuff something under it. A high-class downtown restaurant should be more careful. On a positive note, the food was unusual to find in Seattle, service attentive, and the setting "downtown." I ordered calamaretti [little calamari] as an antipasto. Unlike most calamari, these were not breaded and fried but wonderfully sauteed with a medley of spices. the mezzelune were also awesome: bountiful and covered with an aioli. the server who brought the calamaretti recognized the problem with the wobbly table and immediately bent don to fix it. I slipped him an extra tip.

Brief and suspiciously discriminatory experience at the Westlake Ave. Seattle location. I and a team of coworkers are visiting Seattle this week from Washington, DC and Dublin, Ireland. 4 of us headed to Barolo for a team dinner around 7.15pm on Tuesday October 15th. Our group of adults (3 caucasian men and 1 Africa America woman), dressed in business casual attire, walked into the half empty restaurant in hopes of being seated after whatever wait time was required (without a midweek dinner reservation). When we first went in, the lady at the front responded to my colleague's request for a table for 4 with a "sure thing, let's see where we can put you". After a few minutes, the lady asked us to "please wait outside" while she sorted us out. No one else was waiting to be seated, we weren't crowding the entrance, and we were already respectfully waiting in a section of the restaurant others briefly perched before us. We all found this request weird, but chose not to be immediately offended. We complied and moved our patiently waiting selves right outside the still near empty restaurant. Another 10 minutes later, this same front of house lady came out and said, "I'm so sorry, but I'm actually completely booked tonight and won't be able to seat you." But how?? It was 7.38pm, the restaurant was at least half empty, no one else had come in or been waiting during the minutes we were waiting, and getting a table looked optimistic when my coworker initially and individually went forward to inquire. Initially surveying the restaurant, I suspected that the demographic was 'select', but our treatment was unfortunately too blatant to not be suspicious. I guess this place doesn't care for everyone's business and it definitely feels like they didn't care for ours. By the way, Open Table showed availability at the restaurant and I saw empty tables as I walked past, 90 minutes later, on my way to my hotel.

Clean place good food. We sat at the bar and ordered 4 appetizers. Carbonara was rich, fiiling and prepared exactly correctly. The two bartenders doubled as wait staff but at 5pm, neither were overworked. No smiles from either. No conversation to make people comfortable or take advantage of education through dialogue. We visit Seattle 3 times per year, we'll try it again...4 appetizers, 4 drinks, $100.00 included a $20 tip.

Both traditional pastas and more modern, seasonal dishes are available. The quality and quantity are perfect for the prices. I find this restaurant fun and lively. The liveliness does not keep the servers from presenting a personal touch. I miss the front end host taking our coats and making us feel welcome, but that is made up by the server. This is truly a local business and worth supporting; both locals and visitors will be pleased.

We had an amazing happy hour dinner at Barolo. It is a fantastic bargain, providing 50% off of the Bar Menu. This isn’t any bar menu. We dined on Grilled Caesar Salad, a Prosciutto plate, Pasta Carbonara, and a bowl of Rigatoni in a beef and veal ragu. The food was delicious, maybe the best pasta we tasted in Seattle, and portions were huge. Service was Euro elegante, as our server Marcin was urbane and sophisticated, understanding both wine and cooking. Barolo was a big city experience, deserving of accolades. Unfortunately, restaurant critics in Seattle favor the overly casual restaurants, where utensils are sticks, tables are bare, and the sound track indy homogeneous. Food is almost secondary to the scene. Barolo is the exception, elegant, classy, and with a kitchen that respects the classics. Great food does not need to be reconstructed. Barolo is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. With the happy hour deal, it is now accessible to anyone. Please go, enjoy, and see why a touch of class really isn’t pretentious. In today’s vituperative world, we all could use a little bit of class.

A perfect place for a celebratory business lunch. Nice food and terrific wine. Highly recommend but make a reservation!

Beautiful modern restaurant. Delicious food. I enjoyed the veal scallopini - the presentation was amazing and it was served with several vegetables. The wine list was nice as well. We enjoyed several appetizers. Be sure to make a reservation in advance because this place is very popular.

We were told by a friend to go here for happy hour drinks. We decided to have a bite to eat. Apparently half price cocktails are only for the bar and not those who want to eat. So if you are one side of the restaurant you pay one price and if you are the other side of the restaurant you pay another price. The ‘way it is in Seattle’ apparently we are told. Not surprising, Seattle has been the worse US city we’ve been to. Earlier we saw a guy take a poop in the street

I was in town for work and staying at a nearby hotel. Barolo stays pretty booked, but I walked up right after opening for the dinner rush and got a seat. Glad I did. The service was spectacular (perhaps due to the very few number of tables that were seated, but I can only assume it is always great service until I see otherwise!) and the menu is full of great choices and interesting dishes. I typically spot something on a menu that makes it easy for me to choose, however there were too many offerings that piqued my interest to make a simple decision (guess I will have to go back). The food did not disappoint, and I plan to return on a subsequent visit to Seattle to take in the full dinner experience.

Came here twice for happy hour in the bar area. Fried and grilled calamari were both fantastic, as was the grilled Caesar salad. Wines by the glass were a great bargain.

We had good food, creative appetizers, delicious Italian entrees and again special deserts! I recommend this if you want to have a special meal but you need to be willing to spend money!

We live in Vancouver Canada and will plan a night in Seattle once a year specifically to go to Barolo. We love the Amarone Tedeschi which we have a hard time getting at home and my husband loves the lamb with the cherry reduction. I lose my mind for the bread pudding. Please never retire or sell the restaurant to anyone else!

The good and service are excellent. Had a Caesar salad with a huge slice of toast as an excellent crouton l. The eggplant parmesan was not breaded so excellent if you are doing keto! Heavy on meats but enough for everyone!

Manhattan has so many restaurants to choose, and the great thing is I love to follow my Trip Advisor for ratings. Never a disappointment. Anyhow, this restaurant around the corner from our hotel was great. The Maitre-D was exceptional, and I had one of the best veal parmigiana. The rest of my group also loved what they ordered. Will definitely go back.

First of all, the noise level was very high. Not at all conducive to relaxed conversation for a couple, especially seniors like ourselves. This was discouraging. I had two small plates: the polpi with potatoes and the calamari. Polpi was quite good, although the calamari was a little uneven, with some parts seriously overcooked. My wife had the chicken and pasta special and liked it well enough. The portions were adequately generous. Wine was spendy an unremarkable. Service was good for a crowded restaurant, and the server tried hard to please. I appreciated his effort. But... not far from where we sat a fellow was sitting, by himself until friends came to join him, at a table. He was talking on his cell phone and drinking (water?). He had his feet propped up on the table and was not wearing socks. Judging by his later behavior and that of his friends, he may have had ownership interest in the restaurant or something; regardless of who or what he is, I thought that was very rude and really didn't appreciate it-- or the restaurant for permitting it. Maybe we're just the wrong people for this place, but we won't be coming back.

This Restaurant was recommended by our hotel staff, and since Italian is one of our favorite cuisines, we decided to dine here on our last night in Seattle. We had made reservations, so we were seated immediately behind the Bar. The seating was snug. We were literally just a foot away from the table next to us, and I wondered if I had to hold on to our plates that were jutting out from our table if the people next to us had to leave. Our next source of annoyance was the dim lighting. We could barely read the Menu and needed our phone lights to see. And lastly, it became unbearably hot in that crowded place very soon after we were seated. The evening did not seem to start out very well. But then our pleasant server Crystal arrived with her lovely smile. She made some recommendations, and we settled on a 1940 for me and a Chardonnay for my husband. Those drinks paired perfectly with our Appetizer the Formaggi. It came plated beautifully and tasted just as good. For the Main Course, we ordered the Lobster Risotto and shared it between the two of us. Loved the fact that they split it in two plates for us right in the kitchen. The dish was creamy and delicious, and the large pieces of Lobster were cooked perfectly. Just the way we like it…! Also, we were glad not to have any leftovers. The meal and the service made up for our initial discomfort, and we left satisfied but not too full.

Beautiful lighting, ambiance, service and fantastic food. We stopped here on our way through from Spokane to Vancouver, best meal in a long time. We had the rabbit gnocchi and the seafood fettuccine, both were amazing

Attractive space, attentive service (but not overly so), excellent choices in seafood, pasta, and meat. Maybe I am not objective at the moment after a visit to Hawaii, but the price also seemed very modest. (We paid twice as much for mediocre/bad food at some tired icons such as Roy Yamaguchi's on Maui.) It was a special pleasure to find a seldom encountered bottle of wine from the winery where we stayed a few years ago in Canale, Italy.

Named after the delicious wine, the food was also pretty delicious. I'm not sure we'll go out of our way for this place, but if we stumble upon it again, we'll know that it's not too bad.

This is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the location is easy to get to and the restaurant is chic and yet comfortable. The staff were extremely accommodating. You can't go wrong with any of the menu selections. However, I am partial to the farm to table agri beef either the fillet or the top sirloin. Soft as butter and presented beautifully on the plate. The veal with lemon and truffles and the 20 oz rack of lamb are a close 2nd. The desserts are mouth watering. My only disappointment is that it isn't located in NY.

Came to Barolo for happy hour with my family and could not be more happy with this place! The wait staff was extremely eager to please! Our drinks were served quickly and were delicious! We ordered many plates - all amazing - we had the tuna tartare, tuna carpaccio, grilled ceasar salad, tomato mozz caprese salad and 3 bowls of rigatoni - yes it was that good! Will be back many times, I'm sure!

I ordered the lobster risotto - the risotto was well-cooked but it had a strong starchy aftertaste, and I couldn’t taste the stock in the risotto at all. The lobster was good but very salty, it is almost as if the saltiness is supposed to complement the bland risotto taste. Very subpar. There is a good happy hour deal but you can only enjoy the happy hour deal if you’re seated at the bar, and there is limited seating. It would be good if the restaurant can allow the guests seated at the tables to enjoy the happy hour deals as well since the tables are all quite empty.

Modern decor, lively / busy / loud-ish / atmosphere; restaurant has different eating areas--outside terrace, bar, larger dining room. Sat at bar. Ordered the insalatina and salmon / asparagus penne with a couple of drinks. Food was fresh and good / very good overall. Nothing to set the world on fire. Service at the bar was friendly and efficient.

We found the environment VERY noisy - the waiter was great. Unfortunately the food was not up to par. Especially the fish which was loaded with bones - very unpleasant. Thew maitre-d came over and apologized - offered to bring another fish but would hae been same (we had 3 orders at our tale, all the same). I anticipated that they'd comp at least one! Nothing doing. We won't return

Came to Seattle for an culinary experience with good friends. Barolo was a pick based on reviews. We were a table of six. The place was bustling and were seated, at a Costco $30 plastic fold out table hidden under white linen, promptly. Ordered great wines, our server was exceptional. Listen to the specials and ordered them all. The pumpkin risotto was bitter, green pumpkin I suspect. The ravioli was consistent with cardboard and the filling was dry and inedible... I never send food back, but I did. The finale was one of our friends had a minor medical issue and we needed a little charge on her phone to work her app. I was told by the hostess, she has no charger as I was staring at it. “Oh no, you can’t use this one the owner would have my head and yours”. Moved on to the bar staring at another charger, “Oh no, the owner has a strict policy. Liability issues” I’m not sure, but pretty sure, as this fiasco was unfolding, the owner was sitting comfortably in a premium widow seat holding court oblivious of the lack of quality at every level other than his embarrassed server trying to make amends to a group of very unsatisfied customers. My recommendation, the owner should spend more on his quality of service, finishes, and ingredients and less on his peacock of an outfit hoping to impress his gaggle of women two thirds his age...

The ambience is very loud and full of energy given the clientele, service was variable but acceptable for a Friday evening. We enjoyed the tuna tartar and the Caesar salad but found the filet (possibly sous vide) and rabbit pasta entrees poor in preparation and taste. This restaurant is run by a seasoned operator and should be producing excellent cuisine, such is not the case. For the price the food value is low and we will not return.

Very good Italian/international food. The service is good, good atmosphere and the price is ok. A little too noisy, though, but is does not interfere in the whole experience. I just advise to book first, otherwise you’ll have to wait a little while. It worths the try.

Happy Hour... wife ordered ravioli... I ordered tenderloin... her ravioli showed well undercooked... mine didn't show up... sent it back and she got another order of the ravioli again well undercooked.. mine tenderloin still no where in site... returned the second order of ravioli and she switched to an order of rigatoni.... it showed up still slightly undercooked but decided to keep... my tenderloin finally showed up and what a total disappointment... it should have been called tougherloin. sent it back and said forget getting anything else...this may sound unbelievable but the people next to us sent back two orders of the ravioli also...... ordered a lamb burger that was way over cooked...then we were told the cook probably cooks the pasta the way he likes it...HELLO... after all this there was absolutely no gesture of goodwill possibly not charging us for the two glasses of wine... very very bad experience...

I was in town for the Seahawks game and decided to check out the Sunday all day happy hour. I can't believe the great menu and prices. Definitely will visit again the next time I'm in Seattle. Also the staff was awesome especially Jaqueline she's a total gem.

My husband and I were only in Seattle for one night but decided to go out before seeing a comedy show. Reservations were definitely necessary as things really picked up around 6:00/6:30. We had booked a few days prior on Open Table. We were initially quite disappointed that no one took our drink order for over twenty minutes after we were seated (apparently the server whose section we were in was late). Once staff were made aware of the delay, they were apologetic and Miguel took over and took great care of us. I’ll admit that was a little surprised that, at the very least, our first round of drinks weren’t deducted from the bill (I previously worked in food & beverage for nearly 15 years and that would be an automatic/easy decision for me if it was my table). Our cocktails were all great and the prosciutto and burrata starters that we ordered brought me right back to Rome. We shared the specials (Lamb Shank & Salmon Ravioli) and they were delicious. Overall, we would definitely recommend Barolo and would go again on a future trip to Seattle. :)

We both had the beef shank Ossobuco and in all my 78 years I have never had a better one. The flavoring was perfect (not too much tomato, not too salty), and so was the texture. It came with a saffron risotto which was outstanding. We were walk-ins at 7:00 on a Tuesday and were greeted warmly and seated without hassle. Excellent Old Fashioned cocktail. Server was attentive and accurate. Very upscale atmosphere (many of the tables were clearly expense account business dinners), exactly what we were looking for as a special occasion place. My only complaint was that the pasta fagioli was tomato based (minestrone style) instead of the bean soup based style that I much prefer.

Overrated restaurant with inattentive service. Antipasti was quite good but entree’s were average. Restaurant acoustics were poor and lighting way too low resulting in an uncomfortable ambience. Don’t think l will visit again

This is the second time we've been here in a 2 year period. We're from out of town and were staying at the Westin across the street so an easy walk. There were a number of groups celebrating something but it wasn't too loud and my husband and I were able to converse comfortably. Our server, Simon, was wonderful; attentive, knowledgeable about the wines, and genuinely interested in making it a nice evening for us. I had the local RR Ranch (from Washington) steak (I eat steak only maybe twice a year) and it was cooked perfectly! A bit spendy but worth it! My husband had the Wygu steak. He was happy as well. Next time we'll try the seafood! Atmosphere was festive with beautiful, restful colors with chandeliers. I felt right at home in my "sparkle" top. But my husbands sweater and suit jacket felt just as comfortable. We will most definitely dine here again when in downtown Seattle again.

Our hotel concierge recommended this restaurant in downtown Seattle and it did not disappoint. We brought our 7 year old son and the waitress catered to him by bringing a paper and pens and recommending kid friendly fare. We started with the calamari that she said she could specially order from the bar for our son and she recommended a great super Tuscan wine to go with dinner. Everything was delicious. I would definitely go back again when we’re in Seattle.

Nice restaurant with good quick service and tasty spaghetti alle vongole. Not very expensive and the setting is stylish.

We went there for happy our and sat at the terrace. First I talked to valet parking people and they were not welcoming at all. Service was a bit slow. We were seated but it took a while for our server to come and take our order. We ordered drinks and three dishes: rigatoni pasta with beef and veal ragú, mixed antipasto, and tuna tartare. All the dishes were delicious. I especially liked tuna tartar. The service could have been a bit better but the dishes were delicious and we would love to go back when we are in Seattle.

We went to Barolo for a work dinner during a business trip to Seattle. I had just gotten back from two weeks in Italy so I was not totally enthusiastic about going to an Italian restaurant in the US. However, I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and the service was very good. One of my favorite aspects is that like a true Italian restaurant in Italy, the waiter told the table that if there is something we want that is not on the menu just ask. One person did just that and was rewarded with exactly what he wanted and it looked great. We had a couple of people who ordered steaks and even those were prepared perfectly, even better than the steakhouse we had gone to a couple nights earlier. The service was really good. We could have used a second server for our table of 15, but he worked hard and was able to keep up with drinks and orders. Overall, I highly recommend Barolo to anyone who is in town. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60878-d642846-r692368508-Barolo_Ristorante-Seattle_Washington.html#

Attempted to visit another restaurant after appearing not to need reservations but unable to seat us. They sent us to Barolo right across the street. Was able to seated right away at the bar. Bartender Robbie was great, gave great good recommendations from the Escargot to main course of Lobster Risotto. Great experience when you visit Seattle

I’ve never posted a review to any website before, but then again I’ve never been made to feel so unwelcome at a restaurant before. From the moment I arrived with my family, Barolo’s staff made me feel as if I was not worthy of dining at their restaurant. It started with being pushed to buy an obscenely expensive bottle of wine that was so poorly described that it felt as if our waitress was being told to sell it. When I guided her down to a lower price point, she made sure to snidely remark about ”what level I would be comfortable with.” There is a way to have this conversation in a tactful manner, but Barolo’s management team must have missed the day they taught this in service school. From there, it only got better. Our meal, though good for the most part, was rushed. Our entrees came out of the kitchen barely 10 minutes after we ordered them. A shame since we were trying to enjoy a bottle of wine, and a pace that did not befit a restaurant that charges what Barolo charges. Our waitress did her best, but my impression is that management was telling her to hurry us along. (We observed not-so-subtle body language between the manager and our waitress). How else to explain dessert coming out almost as soon as we ordered it and the check being dropped on our table immediately thereafter. (What, no offer of coffee?). It was a slow night at the restaurant, with many tables empty, so it’s not like they needed to turn the table. Anyways, message received. I will remember this meal for all the wrong reasons. As noted above, the food was actually not bad, but the service was so poor — I place this at the feet of management and not our waitress — that one star is all Barolo merits. For what this restaurant charges, the service needs a lot of improvement, starting at the top. Don’t go.

After a 2,5 + 10-hour flight with massive jet lag, Barolo Ristorante was a nice finishing touch to a long day. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious, and the mocktails were refreshing!

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner here on Monday evening. Great service (thank you, Gio!) and very good food. We started with the special appetizer of burrata recommended by our server; it was very, very good. My wife moved on to the Pasta e Fagioli which she really enjoyed; I had the Romana Grigliata which was wonderful. For our mains, my wife had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara which she said was fantastic (& she was right -- we brought some back to the hotel which I had the next morning & it was probably the best carbonara I've had anywhere in the world to include Roma); I had the Filetto al Barolo -- it was very good but not fantastic. We finished with Tiramisu which was simply delicious. One note: it is VERY loud here.

Enjoyed a crab and pasta dish. Food was tasty and large servings. Servers were friendly and attentive. Wine list offered plenty Italian and local wines.

Went here for happy hour and it was packed. The ambiance is dark but not romantic coz its loud. Having traveled all over Italy, I appreciate a good Italian meal. I find the food here just a tad bit Salty and salty. Its good but no need to go crazy on the salt. Italian dishes dont really need a lot of it if done right. The service is just OK just like the rest of the aspects of this place. I would only consider going here for happy hour prices but not willing to pay full price. I prefer the Italian restaurant across the street.. Cinque Terre

Very friendly greeting, detected from our accents we were Irish and had a chat about this. The waiter described the menu for us as we were not familiar with all the dishes, we had a lovely meal, lots of nice flavours, food beautifully presented.

We were in Seattle for a family wedding and for the first few days staying in the downtown area. When it came to Father's Day, we waited to long to make reservations. We called Barolo and they accommodated our entire family of 7 by going out of their way to make room with hardly a wait. Our Waiter Maximillian was excellent, explaining each meal as if it were the first time he repeated the menu and specials. He spent time explaining the dishes with any questions. Believe me,, it was busy on Father's Day and he never seemed rushed. The food was excellent! If you are in the downtown Seattle area, I would recommend this restaurant highly and ask for Maximillian as your waiter. You will not be disappointed.

Great Sicilian chef using old country ingredients, not a cookie cutter Italian wannabe. Go here for the real deal, I will visit again if I’m in la citta!

Having read many positive reviews of this restaurant I booked a table for 4 people through their reservation system. On the way to the restaurant, 35 minutes before the dinner I got an automated email that my reservation had been cancelled by the restaurant. Without any apologies or explanation. Had to go somewhere else....Not a good experience!

The wife and I came here for dinner prior to seeing a show at the Paramount. We had made reservations and upon entering the hostess promptly led us to the back of the restaurant in a strange seating configuration I would not accept. I asked her for a different table or we would leave. To her credit, she led us to a table in the middle of the floor by the entrance. Much better, except the wait-staff and customers passed our table the entire time we were there. The good news: For an hour and $100, we received great service, two drinks each, an appetizer and main course (also included a nice tip). I expected our dinner to cost more. We were pleased with our dinner.

Hip lounge-like Italian restaurant. Great apps and fantastic entres. Excellent plated presentation and all the food (4 of us) came out hot ! Wines by the glass respectable. A wonderful hearty carbonara is to die for...you will not be disappointed!

We stopped in around 4 p.m. and wanted something but weren’t looking for a full-blown dinner. Barolo has Happy Hour food and drinks that are great deals and absolutely top notch in taste and presentation. We each had a glass of red wine at $5.75. The bar menu was 50% off so we split the antipasto plate and the grilled Caesar salad; both were large and full of wonderful flavors. We each had an order of the rigatoni with beef/veal ragu; the portions were more than enough and the flavors were exquisite! Normally this would be $18 but at only $9 was a terrific bargain. Even at full price this would be a good option as it’s enough for a dinner. We had fantastic service and all in all this proved to be a great choice! I highly recommend!

Great service and food. The ambiance is energetic and the dining room can get pretty loud from all of the talking. Food was great. I got a vegetarian ravioli dish in a rose sauce topped with mushrooms which was wonderful. A friend got the fish special for the night and gave up since there were so many bones on the fish. The carbonara was also highly rated. This place gets very crowded in the evening, so make reservations in advance.

We spent 2 years trying to find good Italian food in Seattle and were disappointed every time, until we tried Barolo. We also loved List, and found out that it's owned by the same owner. Both places have an amazing happy hour but Barolo is definitely more suited for date night and has a more extensive menu. Service has always been stellar.

Was visiting Seattle and looking for Italian food. Called Barolo near the hotel and Alex was very helpful and got us a table before the rush. Carrie our server was outstanding. She helped us with ordering and customized our salads and entrees. Would highly recommend when visiting Seattle

Sleep in Sunday, there’s something better than brunch after 3pm, Barolo! Sunday in the bar, it’s Happy Hour all day! If you’re NOT an Italian wine aficionado, leave those difficult decisions to the experts. Just order the House red, but you will have to pick your pasta. A generous plate of steaming saucy sumptuousness is about $10. A jar of good spaghetti sauce costs that much! The setting is pure Seattle. The staff is attentive, alluring and always amenable. Makes sleeping in Sunday the best way to start the day.

Amazing food, good services and a nice atmosphere, price is acceptable, you want regret it a good meal and good cooking, you need to reserve, call the resturant before you arrive.

The restaurant is very well located near the Amazon Sphere building and has a great ambience. We were well served and immediately provided with water and a free foccacia with olive oil. Unfortunately, it later turned out that the foccacia was the best of the Italian dishes we ate in this restaurant. To summarise, the dishes were over-saturated with ingredients that you wouldn't expect from Italian dishes: The mozarella tomato salad with capers and celery, the polpo with some kind of sauces and grated lemon or lime peel, the spaghetti vongole with bread crumbs, the sugo of the rigattoni sweetly flavoured. Presumably a good but inexperienced chef with Italian food had a go at these dishes. Too bad that according to the Tripadvisor review we expected a good Italian restaurant and in the end were happy with the wine and foccacia, but not with the food we ordered...

We loved the food but our experience was completely ruined by the loud techno music they were playing at full volume the whole evening. It sounded like a bar or a discotheque rather than a place of fine dining! There are too many Italian restaurants in Seattle that offer a quiet relaxed experience so we will not be returning to this restaurant...

My wife and I stopped in our way back to our hotel in Seattle and stopped by this quaint little restaurant. Great service by a young waiter, delicious lentil soup, and salmon pasta. Stop by if you're looking for a simple tasty Seattle dish in downtown.

They have a great happy hour with delicious entrees. I had the ravioli and caesar salad and it was a great meal for the price. The staff is also wonderful.

This is the place to go for Happy Hour, all the appetizers are 50% Off and the selection is great (not just 2-3 items) and the quality of the food (mostly Italian) is amazing! Drinks discounted too!

This is the first time in 30 years of traveling that I find a spaghetti plate where the pasta is fried with the ingredients at the moment of ordering. This means that they boiled the pasta first, put it in a bowl way before and then at the moment of service they fry it adding the sauce that this time was clam sauce. Horrible, and I am Italian, and I am a chef. The sauce of the pheasant gnocchi was made with tomato paste instead of tomato sauce and was too oily. The Aperol and prosecco spritz was not good with too little prosecco and aperol and too much ice ( cheap ). The place is nice but the menu wine list is overpriced and the food we had was a clear Italian Try, not italian food. The chef should go to Italy and learn how to cook.

The restaurant is very pretty, but not over the top. Great cocktails! I had the Osso Buco and my husband had the pasta special. Everything was amazing. We had spent way more on dinner elsewhere during our visit, but nothing came close to the quality of Barolo!

Have to get here around 5:00 PM on a Friday night in order to grab a Happy Hour table. I'd say they have pretty great food options at the price point, and the food is pretty tasty too. Drinks are at a great price also. Wouldn't really recommend the regular portion of the restaurant where you can't order any Happy Hour deals.

Barolo has been a Seattle favorite of mine for over 7 years. Consistently great Italian food. I've been there at least once a month over the past 7 years, yes that's over 80 times. Never once was the food not solid and consistent. Some of my favorites are the grilled calamari and beet salad, and their red wines are great too. The staff have been consistent over the years, always friendly and provide great service. Happy hour is also a really great deal. Check it out !

I wanted a quick bite between meetings and preferred comfort food - seafood pasta with tomato base It wasn’t on their menu but the staff accommodated to my request The servings were generous - clams, crab, prawns. Pasta was cooked right and sauce was flavourful - not too salty just done right I appreciate their flexibility and making the dinner work right for me

Absolutely excellent! Went for the happy hour and it did not disappoint! Food was fantastic as well as the drink specials. The atmosphere is trendy and inviting. We had a fabulous time and the bill did not break the bank. Definitely a spot to hit in Seattle! Highly recommend

Stopped in for early dinner. Happy hour crowd was already tuned up and the restaurant soon filled up but we had a nice, quiet table in the back corner so it was pleasant. If we had been seated further towards the door or in the center of the restaurant I think I would have been annoyed by all the traffic back and forth. Service was good. Mark had veal scallopini and i had penne with salmon and asparagus. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Excellent wine selection and full bar. We had affogato for dessert and were not dissapointed. Try it!

Very conveniently located in the downtown area of Seattle, this offers some of the best cuisines options with a variety of wines. Their carciofo stufato all’olio d’oliva, torre di mozzarella e pomodori were good. The fettuccine al grani.

Recommended to us and enjoyed a lot. Nice atmosphere very clean what u would expect from an Italian restaurant. Food was very good and they will make things off menu for you. Good bar as well!

I'll be honest. I stopped looking. It is a depressing reality that by the time the west was won, Italians were happy to stay on the East Coast. Or so goes my impression based on everywhere I've eaten and all my friends who live East of the Mississippi and agree with me on this point. When I saw 4.5 stars for Barolo I thought, right - just like Pink Door. I do not like Pink Door as an Italian restaurant. It's a nice restaurant but I wouldn't call that Italian. Barolo is Italian. My waiter was from Venice, he was very sweet, he made me wait and was unimpressed by me. Authentically Italian. If you want authentic Italian, be prepared to not be the most important person in the room like an average American. Go here for the food if you really love Italian food. You may never had had real Italian food. If you haven't, you really should. Oh you've had calamari, have you? Maybe not. Calamari is supposed to melt in your mouth, you don't chew it. The burratta was really nice. I like mine a tiny bit crunchier (maybe it's sea salt I don't know) but this was excellent. Gnocchi with alfredo sauce wasn't the most challenging dish but it was also excellent. Finally, the prosciutto served on a wood board with parmesan - molto bene. I didn't have time to stay for the affogato, but when I asked the waiter if they had it and he looked at me like i was crazy, I'm going to take that as a good indication of what to expect when I return. And i hope it's soon!

We had just toured the newly opened Amazon Spheres visitor center and Amazon go store and were delighted to visit Barolo for the first time, less than a block away. We found their happy hour menu to be extensive and imaginative and loved our food. Our server Janelle explained each of the choices and made great recommendations after quizzing us on our tastes and preferences. This will be our new "go to" spot whenever we visit Seattle's business core.

This is a beautiful restaurant in downtown Seattle. It is fairly easy to find, parking isn't a problem, and the waiters are friendly with the right amount of attentiveness. Some of the tables are long with two people in chairs and two on a booth bench. It can seem slightly less intimate. Otherwise, the restaurant is lovely and not loud. The food is good, but could be just a bit better to garner five stars. I would possibly try it again even though my chicken dish had too many flavors to be really authentic. Was more Americanized than it should have been. Atmosphere, cleanliness and wait staff get an A+. Food? Just a B.

Went there after a Friday night Mariners game and had the Organic Rabbit and Pasta. It was very good, would recommend.

Great wines, food and staff; had a great night at the Bar, the bartender did a wonderful recommendation for an small winery Barolo. Also great food. highly recommended

Their specialty is their sauces. Fabulous. The fresh branzino is delicious. Veal scallopini has a great sauce. Pastas unique. Their birthday dessert and specialized birthday menu is a great touch. Still small and intimate so reservations are a must.

Have been to this restaurant numerous times, and love their food! The bar makes an excellent Sazerac, and I have only had excellent service. The only downside is the place is almost always extremely noisy. Last visit is was so noisy, it was difficult to converse with anyone at my table. If you like loud and boisterous places, this place will be a 5 to you. Love the variety on the menu.

As a European citizen, you can be surprised by the fact that taxes are not included in the state of Washington. Meaning that you have to add more than 10% on the dishes in the menu. If the house is adding themselves than 20% of gratuity, your bill ends up 33% higher than expected..! Concrete: 150$ becomes 200$. This leaves you, despite the good food, with some bitter taste behind.

I was so fortunate to dine here with a group of about 18 people and to enjoy the warm and efficient service as well as the delicious food. Barolo has found a good balance for group dining, placing the group off to the side in a spacious alcove instead of isolated in a back room. The food and wine were excellent. I believe our first three courses were selected ahead of time, so they came out beautifully timed while we were perusing the menu and wine list and then awaiting our main courses.

On our first trip to Seattle, several people recommended this restaurant. My husband and I are both italian so we appreciate good italian food. We had reservations and got there with 10 minutes to spare, the host greeted us, told us we were early and left us standing, we finally decided to sit ourselves in a little sofa at the entrance because the bar was full. The place was very noisy. It took long to get some bread and our orders in. Appetizers were tasty and well done but the main course was a disaster, the Ossobuco atrocious and the ravioli I ordered were very bland ... maybe we got there on a bad night, but we left and my husband ended ordering room service at the hotel.

Learned of Barolo from TripAdvisor. Very nice dinner - started with grilled calamari - excellent taste and texture, such a nice change from fried! We had the fettuccine with rabbit, fettuccine with king crab, stuffed chicken and house ravioli which last night was prosciutto with ricotta in a light pumpkin sauce. All were excellent. 2 comments, the ravioli pasta seemed a bit thick, thinner would have really let the filling stand out even more. (But dish was empty when it left the table!). A side of spinach was very salty. Service very good. It was a very nice setting with white tablecloths yet folks had on everything from jeans to suits and it was just comfortable and noise level fine.

C'mon Barolo, you are better than this. I recommend the restaurant still - but with some caution. Especially for the price point. Food quality was hit and miss. For the 2nd time in as many months we had tough, almost inedible osso bucco and lamb. Though the beef filet was tender and well prepared, the au jus accompanient lacked body and flavor. In fact, most dishes were bland. Our entire dinner party was reaching for the salt shaker. A restaurant travesty! Gnocchi and its tomato sauce continue to be excellent, but the rigatoni were almost inedible. Al dente is great - not raw. Grilled calamari were excellent but the fried rings were generally too large and tough. Our dining experience was salvaged only through the efforts of our excellent server. She's a rock star!

Whenever we have lunch or dinner at Barolo, we always ask ourselves why we don't come here more often. The food and service are always excellent and they also have a decent wine selection. We will come more often ! ....That's our new year's resolution for 2020

This is the best tasting Italian food in Seattle and the food is very clean. Employees are very kind. 100% recommend to others.

So Seattle lacks trendy places where people dress up. Ok fine people still come in with their North Face jacket here, but there are some that actually try to step it up. Atmosphere: Very modern and contemporary. The bar area is always full at happy hour since it is right in downtown next to google, and amazon. Food: Oh MY GOSH you have to get the gnocchi al fagiano it is sooooo good. trust me get it. Services: It can be just ok when they are busy, but still a great place to go for a nice dinner or happy hour.. Come on people stop wearing your North Face to nice restaurants.

wonderful italian dinner - you will not be disappointed - i had 1/2 a grilled romaine heart with caesar dressing and shaved reggiano - the main was rigatoni al ragu d'agnello (riatoni, natural leg of lamb ragu, parmiggiano, and fresh herbs) - all with a glass of pinot noir - perfect service

Limited menu but all items well prepared. The pasta soup was quite flavorful. Clams and spaghetti was excellent. Nice spin on caprese salad. Refreshing cannoli for desert. Service was mediocre at best and presentation was lacking. Prices are not cheap but OK.

We will be back...great wine selection and delectable menu! Just happened to be near this restaurant and so glad we were....

If you want to experiment real high quality Italian food ? That is the place. It is just perfect - Antipasti - pasta - Main course are so delicious. And please try the tiramisu, a poetry I really recommend this place for any Italian food lovers

We had a wonderful Italian dinner, the Alaskan Crab Fettuccine was amazing but the most amazing thing was that when we left my wife forgot her cellphone. We discovered this when our waiter chased us down two blocks away from the restaurant! I never in my life had anyone care that much about a customer. What a wonderful staff. You all should be very proud.

We were a little nervous when we walked in that it would be too noisy, but we sat inside the strangely configured space and it was fine. The food was delicious and the server one of the best we've ever met. The fish selections were a little limited, but we all found something we loved. And the wine was great, too.

Met a friend for Happy hour at Barolo and it was perfect. food was excellent with plenty of happy hour variety on the menu. It was inexpensive because of the happy hour prices. The staff was attentive. A great place to catch up with an old friend.

We have gone many times. It is still a very good happy hour but no longer warrants the rave 5 stars review I would have given. What’s good:house wines are better than average, happy hour wine prices are attractive. Staff is very nice, atmosphere is techno hip but not over the top. Food has slipped a lot: rigatoni is good but less robust, steaks is good, calamari spaghetti is good. What’s declined most :ravioli used to be great/robust but is now off our list, clams have little flavor...if the food slips more we will no longer be regulars.

Just to make it clear from the start , this place deserves 4 stars but I can’t give it the rating it deserves. We made an early booking for New Year’s Eve and were happy to go. From entering the place we were met (I use the term “met” not greeted) by a staff member who didn’t know what a smile was nor how to say more than 1 word sentences. We felt embarrassed that we asked to check our coats. We were then approached by the maître d who was obviously annoyed that we entered the restaurant at all and had to take us to our table. No words were spoken just his sour attitude permeated in the atmosphere. After being seated the night and experience went from bad to great. The wait staff were good and the food was great. The speed of the meals was maybe a bit quick but it was New Year’s Eve At the end of a great meal and atmosphere we were not pressured into leaving but thought we should leave the table so they could turn it over again. On leaving we were met by the same 2 maître d’s their terrible attitude still simmering. This is the reason I gave them 3 stars not 4. Being from Australia we have been impressed by Seattle’s friendly people everywhere we have been. It’s not fair to give the whole place a bad review except why would you put “non-people person” staff to greet customers.

We couldn’t have been more delighted with our trip to this lovely Italian restaurant. Authentic, delicious food with particular attention paid to the flavor combinations on each plate ordered is what we found at Barolo’s. Maximillian, the manager, was a delight, as were all the staff we encountered. Service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere wonderful. A definite plus on our trip to Seattle!

As service and quality disappointingly dwindles in most restaurants around Seattle, Barolo is maintaining that family feel and genuine connection to their customers. I attended a birthday party here for a large group ( 20 plus people) on a Wednesday night. The restaurant went out of their way to accommodate the party in every way. The owner treated us like family, included special touches to make our experience very memorable: special printed menus, sparklers with a bottle of champagne, a birthday desert. Our server ( Max) provided seamless service, attended to our drinks and brought out all the food on time, perfectly cooked. Don't get me started on the food- taste and quality was absolutely mouthwatering. It was restaurant week so we were in for a delectable offering of the chefs finest- calamari, swordfish, squid ink pasta- I could not stop raving about it as each plate was licked clean. The bartender ( Heidi) made an incredible "dirty martini" for the birthday girl with a smile and checked on us with a sincere interest and desire to ensure the birthday girl was happy- really, truly sweet. Thank you! Will be back! Highly recommend for parties, celebrations and any special occasion.

Friday evening, the place was packed with diners. It looked classy, modern, and elegant with traditional Italian touches. It has good ambiance with vaulted ceilings, wax candelabras, chandeliers, etc. They have an extensive list of wines and liquors from around the world including Italy, and USA. Their Happy Hour drink prices are very reasonable. We, a group eight, enjoyed some Oregon wines, and a few fine dishes. I enjoyed a big bowl of Enticchie e spinach (lentil spinach and spinach soup) and a main course of Branzino con verdure e patate (seared Chilean sea bass, and braised greens and fingerling potatoes). Both the dishes were excellent. The wait staffs were friendly, and knowledgeable.

Elegant Italian restaurant in the city centre. Cozy athmosphere, nice waiters and good wines list. I had an antipasto misto to share (delicious) a tagliata grilled to perfection, and super tender

Came here for a team dinner this week, and loved it. Attentive and friendly service, and the quality of the food was excellent.

Stopped in for dinner early. The happy hour crew were in full tilt mode , quite noisey for a smaller resturant. If you can live with some noise the food is worth it. A profesional staff and food that is very well prepared. This is not art food but real deal italian. When you leave this establishment you leave satisfied.

We went two days in a row for the happy hour/appetizer specials at 50% off. Beer and wine is also discounted. Try anything! The grilled calamari is the best. Having sampled eight appetizers from tuna to pasta, all excellent. Go for it but get there early.

We ate at Barolo in the centre of downtown Seattle. The restaurant is nicely laid out with excellent, attentive service. The menu offered a number of very good northern Italian dishes; I was particularly struck with the classic Osso Buco con risotto Milanese. I was also astounded at the depth of the Italian red wines on the wine list, from great Gaja barbarescos to many lesser known local wines. Truly a go to classic northern Italian dining experience.

We were headed to another restaurant for dinner but passed here and decided to change our plans. So happy we did. We had ravioli as an appetizer along with champagne both were equally delicious. For an entree we shared the osso bucco which was equally delicious, along with a bottle of Brunello which was to die for. Lastly we shared the tiramisu for celebration. We sat at the bar and was gifted to have Heidi as our wait staff. She was the bomb along with the rest of the meal. So happy we strayed off our path and would recommend this to anyone. Such a great experience.

On a recent conference trip to Seattle, we had our final group meal at Barolo which also coincided with Restaurant Week. Coming in out of a slight drizzle, we found the restaurant's ambience cosy and warm. Some reviewers have commented that they found the restaurant too dark. Dark-ish it is, so you don't see the colours of the food incredibly well, and considering we eat with our eyes, that's a bit of a drawback. On the other hand, the dim light forced us to focus more on the taste of the food and (guiltily), dispense with trying to take a photo of every dish. And mighty tasty the food was too, Between the four of us, our favourites were the boar tenderloin with chanterelle mushrooms, squid ink risotto, and the chocolate salami cake.

Quaint little resturante nestled near downtown Seattle. The food, wine and service were great. Somewhat resonably priced for downtown Seattle. Worth the experience, especially given the wine and the quality of the food.

My favorite go to spot in Seattle. Happy hour is the Best Time to be here. 50% off their bar menu and $4-5 wine. Love he carpaccio - love their calamari - whether it’s grilled or the pasta. I love their carbonara! I just got this place. Service is great. The only downside is parking - so it’s easier to valet which is $10 but you can add just add that to your tab... this place is def a must try. They have hh at the bar area til I believe from 3-6 and from 9- close.

Everything was perfect! Food was creative and fantastic, served hot. The waiters were great! Decor is spectacular. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. We would go back for sure

From the ambiance to the food, Barolo cannot be beat. Their pastas are hands-down the best in Seattle. My favorite dishes are the veal carpaccio and the octopus. That being said - you cannot go wrong with any of their dishes. If you are visiting Seattle - this is a must-visit spot.

Had lunch there yesterday with a group of 7. Food was excellent, service very good and a great location in downtown Seattle. The noise level makes it hard to have conversations. Not sure they need music on when people are trying to talk.

My girl and I stopped in today for appetizers on our 3 year anniversary. I saw that a glass of Chardonnay was $16, so I ordered a Martini instead. My girl ordered the $16 glass of red wine. The waiter pointed out that it was 1/2 bottle. I regretted not ordering that myself, at $8 a glass, but didn’t want to look cheap by changing my order. Then we got the bill. Her wine was invoiced at $90.00. I called the waiter over to correct it and he said that the “16” was the YEAR, not the price. I tried to reason with him, then asked for the manager. He said he was the manager. After some back and forth I threw cash on the table and he yelled, “don’t come back here again!” in front of a dozen customers. In 60-some years of dining, I’ve never seen such an arrogant and rude restaurant manager. I think the menu is deliberately deceptive. He had obviously made this argument before. I didn’t get his name, but he’s about 40, 5’8”, in shape, black curly hair.

We came here on the suggestion of the concierge at the Westin. It was a great suggestion! we were there at 10 pm so it was happy hour. Everything was half price. We shared a good bottle of red for $20. had some delicious appetizers, (salad, eggplant, pizza) everything was really good including the service. Nice atmosphere in the bar and easy to see why it was so crowded. A really great value!

The new General manager and his staff are doing a really great job. It's not self-evident to get perfect pasta in the US. Be shure, at Barolos you'll get a taste of what authentic italian cuisine can be! Highly recommended!

Food at Barolo is always exceptional. Menu is well varied, with something that will appeal to all. I am a hugely fussy eater and there are many options for me. Classic Northern Italian cusine, simple and well executed. Service is typically top-notch. Our visit was no exception. Was with a larger group and they did an excellent job managing the many demands.

I arrived during happy hour and my bartender was very good about pointing out the applicable menu and letting me know when happy hour was ending. Very good service. Rene, the back bar worker, was as good as I have seen. He helped the bartender, stayed out of her way, and kept the little details and clean up moving along. Kudos to Rene. I choose the spinach ravioli in a "rose" sauce. The ravoili were quite good and the sauce was a tomato bisque style--a little unexpected but very good. Odd parts: the bartender's outfit was a little different. I thought it included sheer black panty hose over her shorts. The music was too loud for a conversation--a constant techno beat.

Stopped in for HH recently and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and hardy for a Happy Hour and the service was exceptional. It’s a small venue so don’t be surprised if the bar fill s up fast. I had the antipasto plate and it was delicious and filling.

Our group sat in an alcove in the main restaurant, and it was pretty noisy. But the food and the service were quite nice. The menu was limited, but they still made adjustments to meet individual needs. My pasta dish with crab had plenty of crab and taste. Others were just as happy with their food. We had a decent antipasto and salad as first courses. A cannoli for dessert was a mild disappointment, however. I would happily eat here again.

I decided after reading all the great reviews to host my birthday dinner celebration at Barolo's Ristorante and I was not disappointed. They arranged a private and intimate setting for my guests and even customized the menus with my name. The dim ligting, the chandelier, the aroma of authentic Italian food and a great wine made for the perfect dinner. The pasta was delicious and was by far the best I have ever had. Our waiter was attentive, funny and very knowledgeable. 5 star restaurant that I would recommend to everyone. Can’t wait to go back again soon.

Excellent service and food. Happy hour in the bar represents great value, and a nice prelude to dinner in the main restaurant. Food didn’t disappoint with pasta al-dente and risotto to perfection. Great salads.

Pasta to much dente. Wine perfect. Service friendly and correct. Ambiance ok. Espresso with grappa ok.

Outstanding! Great food, both of our meals were well prepared, very tasty, very Italian Service was prompt and very friendly We will return when in Seattle again

Barolo was definitely one of the restaurant highlights of our trip to Seattle, and probably one of the top rated restaurants overall (we dine out a lot). This restaurant is super hip and classy donning a very sleek and modern décor. The dim lighting boasts great ambiance for date night, yet it is elegant and playful enough to invite a family in. The food was EXCELLENT. My husband and I split the antipasti platter which was just enough to serve 2-3 people. We also split the gnocchi entrée with a tomato sauce base as an appetizer; it was to die for. Definitely the best gnocchi I’ve ever had and I am married to an Italian man. For dinner I had the salmon special as I wanted a heavier protein dish. Well, it also came with risotto on the side. I couldn’t resist but it was worth every calorie and fat gram! My husband had the lobster risotto which he cleaned up pretty quickly, lobster and all. For dessert we had the gelato affogato (vanilla and espresso) and OMG it was the best dessert EVER! So for all that we had, with a cup of coffee and two glasses of wine, the bill was just $170 pre-tax. I say ‘JUST’ bc we are from the bay area and a dinner like that will easily cost you $250. I am definitely coming back to this place. Whether for a date night, family night or even a girls/boys night, the restaurant is very complimentary to all kinds of parties. By the way, we didn’t get our server’s name but he was tall and had the cutest Italian accent. He was very friendly and attentive; if only all waiters were like him! Also, there is an all-day happy hour on Sunday. Great place for singles….just my observation.

SERVER WAS CLEARLY RACIST!!! He had a heavy Italian accent, and when I asked him to repeat himself, he insulted MY ENGLISH. Super impatient when we were trying to decide what to order, again told me that I shouldn’t take so long if I knew English. Food was great, but he already ruined the meal for us.

Yes, we made the effort to fight bridge and Seattle traffic, specifically to try Barolo's happy hour . .. so worth the effort ! Unfortunately, we went first to the wrong end of Westlake; mentioned here only so that no one else makes the same detour. (Barolo is on Westlake in downtown, not the lovely and easier location on the West side of Lake Union.) The bar is small, with a line of tables along the front windows, with bar stool seating opposite . . . fills quickly, with good reason. Possibly the BEST, most extensive offering of tasty items offered in the area, with sumptuous cocktails, also. Their Manhattans and Martinis are large and well-crafted. Simply, YUM~~ ! We had the eggplant, natural shoulder tenderloin, lentil soup and caprese tomato & cheese salad . . . all beyond pure heaven! Finished with tiramisu . . aaahhhhhhh . . . waddled back to the car. Wonderfully satisfying destination, must return for dinner~~!!
