Good food, delicious and good quality. The server was friendly and helpful. One of the entry was halibut with shrimp , which was not as good as we expected. Maybe that was due to the halibut texture, not very tender.

This place is a local's gem! We frequently dine here. It is conveniently located right off the I-5 freeway if traveling through looking for a great place to grab a bite! The fish selection is quite varied for a local joint, service may be a bit slow if in a hurry but well worth the wait. The house specials are always amazing, the fish is consistently fresh and the price is reasonable for the quantity you get. Our favs are the clam chowder, any of the 6 different fish tacos, the macadamia nut crusted halibut and the calamari salad! Give it a try, we will be back! And I hear the happy hours are amazing ,too!

Went with my cousin and girlfriend for Happy Hour. We shared the Smoked Fish Stack, Ahi Poke & Campechana. All were very good, Campechana was spicy for me but I'm a lightweight when it comes to spice. My companions loved it. Pretty good beer selection. Casual place.

Arrived for happy hour it's fantastic started with a Sauvignon Blanc then went to lemon pepper shrimp for an appetizer simply wonderful then have the macadamia crusted yellow tail for main course simply phenomenal. Suggestions made by Jade and the team here are phenomenal. Had a really nice gin cocktail for dessert. This place is rocking folks were having fun inside and outside enjoying the evening.

Our son took us here for dinner, and it was delicious! I can't wait to visit again and go back to try more food items. We got there before 5:00 pm and took advantage of Happy Hour. We ordered all appetizers and shared. We got Coconut Mussels, Steamed Clams, Blue Crab Cakes, and Hali-boat. They were all totally scrumptious and I would recommend them all. (The focaccia with the mussels and clams is worth starting a fight over.) The Hali-Boat didn't sound great, but it was!--A twist on Sushi! Parking can be problematic, but it was sooo worth the walk. I got a draft beer--they have MANY, even San Diego brewed ones. Sweetheart got a white wine and both were happy hour priced. The only criticism is that it was very noisy. I cannot imagine the noise level when it is full!

Happened across this place on Taco Tuesday and glad I did. Great selection of a la carte tacos at a good price and broad beer selection. A solid choice if in the area.

Came here with a group of 10. Was no problem getting a reservation for the time we wanted. Wait staff was friendly and efficient. Food was very good, and portion sizes were adequate. Prices were quite reasonable for San Diego. Several in the group had fish-and-chips and all said it was great. I ordered the mahi and requested it be prepared medium rare. That's exactly what I got, and it was delicious. Only one member in our group was not happy, and that's because he didn't tell them he like his fish more rare. Chowder and calamari were great starters.

When found this by coincidence, we were looking for something close to our location and found this place, I had the seafood pasta and my coworker had the crusted halibut but dishes were delicious, my pasta was very tasty and and just a little bit spicy.

The food here is very tasty with good flavors and fresh ingredients without being fussy. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, and they have a wonderful assortment of local craft beers on tap. Super fast for lunch, especially if you sit at the bar. They have outside sidewalk seating too, so you could bring your dog, if you wanted to. Very friendly and helpful waitstaff too. Highly recommended. Yay -- fresh fish!

Fun place, very good and affordable food. Great service! Outdoor seating is enjoyable, too. The place has been offering good seafood for decades and is in a quiet neighborhood and a real find for locals and few tourists.

Great fish, great service and terrific prices. This is the only place in San Diego I'll order fish and chips. Their sushi is also great as is their seafood stew and ahi poke. Don't hesitate. Just go

This location does sell liquor due to licensing protocol but the wine (sangria) was on point! The food was decent. I liked the ambiance and service.

Food was ok, but service was fast. Place is small and open with outdoor seating. Great relaxing meal with friendly wait staff.

Tremendous selection and great flexibility. Selection extends to the beers on tap. Very fresh fish. Excellent and friendly service- in Covid times. Funky setup. Back patio is a great place. Will be back!

Visit Bay Park often for lunch, happy hour and dinner. Really enjoy the calamari salad and fish and chips. The crab cake appetizer is also great.

A very nice local bar and grill . The food was very good with excellent service. Nice atmosphere with lots of TV to view sports events. The small plates were well priced but the entree were very expensive for for the location. Street parking only, so you may have to walk some distance. Ordered avocado with my tacos but didn't receive it with the meal.

Never had a bad meal or experience here. The staff is excellent, the food is always served fresh and hot. Great bar for happy hour and the happy hour menu is killer.

Allways a homerun at this place, great food, service and very reasonable pricing. A great place any time of the day, take advantage of their Monday happy hour.

I met a friend for dinner. They have a good list of local and craft beers. I had the fresh grilled salmon and it was great. He had the halibut crusted with macadamia nuts. He said it was fantastic. I had the Caesar salad with kale. It was big enough to share. I will be back.

Came for an informal work related annual dinner celebration. Did not disappoint! Had a private room for our event. Service was good. Food incredible delicious appetizers and awesome fish entrees. Parking is on the street but not difficult to find a place. Right next door to Siesel's Market. Butcher counter has high end meats of great selection.

Must try the halibut ceviche and the Ahi Poke. So flavorful and delicious. Wait staff was really nice, just perhaps a little slow. Happy hour, however, was moved to include only the inside seats so our great plan was thwarted. Otherwise, what a great restaurant! Also, the salmon nigiri was SO fresh!

The food was very good. Not the best seafood I've ever had, but good enough. Prices were higher than I would have expected for a restaurant that is basically in a strip mall. I wouldn't go out of my way for this place, but I would definitely eat there again if I were in the area.

I met with a friend who suggested Bay Park Fish. Years ago when I lived in the area, there was nothing here. However, the food was fantastic. Well worth a try if you have never been there. We split a Sushi tower and a Cesar salad with salmon. The sushi was very fresh and it was a great way to enjoy a variety of fish. The salmon on the salad had an amazing coating of spices and it was cooked just right. I will definitely return. It has a very casual feel and a bar area too.

Excellent menu, fun selection of beers, good crowd, great bartenders. It was an easy walk from a cheap Best Western I was staying at - spend your money on food, not the room!

My husband and I ate an early dinner about 4:30 pm we ordered mahi mahi with rock shrimp and seared catch of the day which I selected yellow tail. It came with rice and fresh veggies which were al dente squah zuchinni peppers and onion. It was perfection except I could have used a little bigger proportion. We started with oysters on the half shell, small but good. The service was excellent and the restaurant clean and well decorated with pictures of fisherman catches. I would definitely eat there again.

Tucked away across the tracks is Bay Park, we stopped in for lunch! Very casual place with outdoor seating. Oh my gosh we were in for a treat. We were greated by a smiling waiter. We asked for water as we perused the menu, salads, sandwiches, a sushi and more. I had the most delicious Poke. Mouthwatering, tasty, delicious fresh wonderful Ahi. One of the owners came by, introduced herself and asked, "how was everything." Presentation was great too.

We love the Bay Park Fish Company and often enjoy happy hour. We do go there at least once a week, for Happy Hour and also an occasional Saturday morning breakfast or Sunday morning breakfast.

This seafood restaurant is worth the drive south from our area in north San Diego. Friendly, efficient service. We enjoy the steamed clams and tuna appetizers, sushi offerings as well as entrees such as seafood pasta and seared tuna. Kids meals were enjoyed by my children. Happy hour is a good deal.

Bay Park Fish Company is a neighborhood favorite of mine. Fish is always very fresh regardless of preparation. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. You may need to walk a block or two in a single family residence neighborhood after finding a place to park. Highly recommended date night :-)

OMG, how did I just learn about this place!? I'm a native San Diegan and have never been and want to go back everyday now! A few coworkers and I enjoyed their Happy Hour from 3-6, which is everyday by the way, and ordered a little bit of everything to share. The drinks are fabulous, the food is ridiculously delicious, and the service is superb! You just HAVE to check this place out!

Consistently great food, excellent range of options from tacos to superb main courses. Nice selection of wines and beers. Laid back, confortable, local and totally SD! Service usually wonderful, but recently less attentive than usual. Attention folks!

Was given a recommendation by my granddaughter to try this restaurant and so happy we did. Though, they have been around for 15 years, we had never heard of them. The first visit I had the seafood pasta which was very good. Returned a couple of days later with my husband and had the calamari sandwich. It was tender and was absolutely deliciousđ My husband had fish and chips and was very good as well. Skinny fries were salty and good. Service is very friendly, professional, and efficient. Definitely will return for the calamari sandwich.

We were staying in this neighborhood just off the 5 freeway and were not sure what would be available for dining without needing to drive downtown. We were pleasantly surprised to find this place nearby. The environment is sort of industrial and the staff was friendly, the bar was very busy. We both ordered seafood dishes (seared scallops for one of us and halibut for the other) which were cooked to perfection and served with fingerling potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Just off a main street with on street parking. Beer selection was great too.

Coming to Visit San Diego it's always great to find a good fish place to eat, that's accessible. Bay Park does it and handles varied entrees well and quick. We like it because it caters to children so our grand kids like coming here, and there are good choices they like too. It is a very popular spot, so if parking is a problem during mealtime the short walk from ample parking on nearby streets is easy.

Bay Park Fish Company is a local eatery that's been around for a couple of years and is a favorite of people who live in the area. There seafood is always fresh and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Service is always good and the employees are really friendly. They also have some very creative sushi. If you stick to the sandwiches and tacos, and fish and chips it's really reasonable. Entrees are a bit more pricy. So, if you want to have fun with family and friends, Bay Park Fish Company is an excellent pick!

Great food, simple, original, great service ! Local ambience, we had a hard time selecting out food, everything looked very good and it were Highly recommended ...

Had lunch with a friend. I thought that my calamari sandwich was horrible. Even the fries tasted strange. The servers were friendly, but very busy and unattentive. I personally will not be back. If I couldn't even get my husband to eat the left overs, I know it's bad.

Due to a traffic backup at rush hour, google rerouted us at dinner time and we spotted this place to try. Sometimes luck is just with you. What a great place for dinner, lots of happy hour specials and we were there on taco tuesday and for the first time had fish taco's which were very good. We also tried the sushi which was excellent. A big shout out to Dominic our waiter, this is the kind of employee all places should have, great personality, very attentive, when he found out we just happened upon this place and we told him we were from Michigan, he surprised us with a brownie dessert. Can't wait to go back next time in town!

I love the vibe of this place. Cool and laid back. Our server was friendly and efficient. We had the Brussel sprouts and Ahi wok appetizer. So delicious. Fish tacos are very good.

Very recommendable, excellent price quality relation, fresh fish and Really good and very tastefull dishes.friedly and quick service!

Lifelong San Diego resident, and thought I knew every decent place for seafood. Wow I was mistaken. I always take friends over to Pt.Loma seafood for a great casual meal, but I have a new and proper gem. Selection is great, quality is excellent. Ceviche is wonderful and zesty. And table service! Plus they have sushi ! Iâm in seafood love. Done right and reasonable prices. Yay!

Menu is interesting and offers opportunity for those who are interested. Ordered green chile fish burrito that was very good. Wait staff was very friendly and prices reasonable.

Updated interior , very relaxed and inviting. The choices are many with quality at the top of the list. Many types of fish available. And prepared to your liking. The service is top level.the white clam chowder is the best in my travels from coast to coast. Great for any occasion. Ciopino is incredible. Prices are reasonable.

Just had dinner there based on the recommendation of a colleague. Great selections of seafood and beers on tap. Casual venue with a local flavor. Dominique was excellent as our server. Very friendly staff in general. Will definitely return.

We were on vacation for ten days in San Deigo and tried someplace new each day for Lunch and supper. In terms of Sea Food Bay Park was right at the top. It was near our hotel but well outide of the more densley packed restaurant districts in San Diego. That said it is easy to find and well worth the visit. I started with some Oysters on the half shell for my appie and the Seared Ahi as the main. All was excellent, and fresh, so impressed with the quality after all that and before the cheescake I ordered another appie, (monster) shrimp cocktail, fantastic. We vacation in San Diego every 3-4 years and Bay Park will be visited again. My spouse had the Mahi n' Rockshrimp also excellent.

Cute little neighborhood restaurant. Unfortunately, was not a great experience. Fish tacos were very bland and almost inedible. Beans and rice with dinner just as bland. Daughter really enjoyed her fried shrimp.

Great fish and chips. Great beer. Friendly staff. What else do you need? One of the staff saw me on my phone, recommended the free wifi and gave me the password.

I've been to this place 5 times. Two times were satisfactory, 3 times a total disaster. The fish is ok - nothing special (and portions are small) and a little expensive compared to other fish places in San Diego. Service is hit or miss. I'm not going back. If you don't want greasy french fries they hit you with a $2 fee for cold slaw or some other side, which, on the menu are the same price. So why? Its also one of the nosiest restaurants I've ever been in. No sound deadening,l you can hardly year anyone at your table say anything. Take my advice and pass on this place or see if you get luckier than I was. Its a coin toss...

My sister gave us a diner card to eat at this restaurant. We were greeted by Paul a bubbly, tenacious man. He advised us on the menu and took our drink order. We ordered the fish and clam chowder, fish and chips, I had the tuna pokey. The fish was cooked crispy with a thin fish like we had in Southampton. The pokey was also delicious. Paul is a great host.

This is the place for fish in San Diego. Casual open air where the locals go. The quality and delicious portions being served by the people that like being there makes for a great atmosphere.

My wife and I had an absolute wonderful meal!! She had the sea scallops and I had the swordfish with capers....both dishes were delicious! The accompanying garlic mash potatoes and fresh vegetables were excellent with our dishes as well. To top it off the service was fantastic with prompt and personable service. We are from northern California but if we lived here this seafood restaurant would be a regular stop for us. There are so many dishes I want to try on their menu.

Went here with my golfing group. The service was very good and the waiter very helpful I had a fish and past dish that was excellent and very filling.

Came in for happy hour and it was a treat. Super tasty dishes at great prices. The ahi tuna wonton was fantastic. Loved the dynamic flavors of spicy and sweet. The fish tacos are $4 during HH which rocks! You can order them up grilled, blackened or fried. Love! Great beer selection on tap. Fresh ingredients and cold beer. Can't go wrong.

We were looking for a restaurant that would accommodate our group of six for lunch. The criteria were that it not be too noisy and serve good food. The lunch menu offered lots of choices and the prices were reasonable. We ordered different menu items including the fish tacos, fish sandwiches and a cobb salad and we were all satisfied with our selections. Friendly and attentive staff.

It's a fun, relaxed place with the best seafood ever. I had the grilled fish salad. I was expecting a nice salad with some crumbled up fish on top; what I got was a VERY nice salad with a HUGE fish steak on top. Just remembering that lunch makes me happy! We also had the salmon salad appetizer, another winner. Don't pass up this place if you are anywhere near San Diego (you may even decide to take a trip to SD just to eat here).

This place is amazing and a must try if you are in the area. My significant other and I were looking for a place to eat after an AM at the zoo and found this gem. Food service were amazing we had the calamari for an app and shared a seafood stew, both of which were very tasty especially the stew. I had the Mahi tacos that were also fabulous and my significant other had the amazing Jose's Green Chile Burrito with shrimp. Talk about yummy. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

This place is a bit off the beaten path, east of I5. Real good food, drinks and service. My wife and I keep going back for more!

The restaurant is located in a small string of retail shops on a secondary street. Parking is all on-street, so it is a bit tough due to another restaurant and a market in the same block. This local place serves a good variety of fresh fish with both indoor seating and an outdoor patio. I enjoyed the tuna melt sandwich at lunch and others had selections of fresh fish. The pricing is fair and I have returned a few times.

We travel to San Diego several times a year to see family and always make a stop here for clams and fish tacos. The fish is so fresh, and the ceviche is awesome!! It is a cute neighborhood restaurant, and many more families are going now than years ago when I discovered it. The service is very friendly, and you can eat in the bar or dining room, or outside on the patio. Reasonably priced for wonderful food.

I am told the BPFC started out just selling fish, and eventually food, and then bought the space next door to expand to full restaurant operations. They sell really fresh fish and have excellent, friendly service. I cannot believe I have missed this place for so many years in visiting San Diego. I will definitely come back. Specifically, we ordered three dishes, halibut prepared two ways and shrimp. All were excellent, and in comparison to a recent dinner at King's Fish House, this fish seemed to be fresher and not overcooked, even though it was grilled in one case and blackened in the other case. The BPFC halibut was NOT overcooked as the King's Fish House halibut was, and was less money. Now the ambiance may not be the same, but I would just say that it is different, not better or worse... BPFC had a remarkable selection of beers on tap, heavy on local San Diego breweries, a good thing! Wine selection was fine, not fancy, but reasonable and drinkable. In all, we liked the broader BPFH tap selection better than King's. Finally, the price was less for better food. We would come here again, and you should give it a try despite the humble neighborhood surrounding (off Morena Blvd in Bay Park). Another good thing, the Coronado Brewing Company tasting room is very close by, maybe a couple of streets.

Had a great meal.... blackened swordfish with pinto beans and rice. Great fish an nice donning room.

Right off I-5 near Mission Bay, this casual seafood restaurant is a great place for lunch. The steamed clams were out of this world, and the sashimi tuna salad was also very good. Nice selection of wines and (especially) beer. My dining companions loved their tacos and burritos and wanted to come back again the next day.

The fish stew was fantastic as were the shrimp tacos. The servers were warm and welcoming. The parking is a little limited so you might have to walk a bit. Definite repeat!

We enjoyed dinner here based on Trip Advisor reviews. This is a smaller than Iâd imagined, friendly, kinda local neighborhood seafood restaurant. Great clam chowder. Also sampled an albacore sushi roll, plus fresh catch plates. My husband had the halibut- very light. I had tuna, served medium rare and very tender. SautĂ©s veggies were a bit too oily. Side of plain rice was...there. Bottle of Chardonnay, plus a lemon mousse cake rounded out our meal.

We've had dinner here a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food is really good, I like the smoked fish stack and ceviche, my hubby enjoys the California rolls. They also have a great craft beer selection. Arty, the bartender, is friendly and service is excellent.

This is a very good seafood restaurant with a pub type atmosphere. Casual and comfortable with great selections at reasonable price. There might be a wait during busy times bit it is well worth it. Nice bar to relax in till table is ready. Easy to find right off the 5 Freeway.

For starters the atmosphere is cool with great beer on tap selection. Unfortunately that is the only positive thing I can say. Our server was very friendly however she was inexperienced. I ordered the fish and chips and although it wasn't the worst fish and chips I've ever had it was pretty close to it. I had four little tiny fish pieces that we're not much bigger then the chicken nuggets. It was supposed to be panko but it tasted breaded and baked and honestly tasted like it came from the Gordon fisherman Frozen box. My husband ordered the shrimp tacos that were also supposed to be panko but didn't taste that way and it also tasted like it came out of a frozen fish box. On a good note we did order the clams as an appetizer and those were good. I ordered a cup of clam chowder and it had a weird taste almost like they put nutmeg in it. My son ordered the mac and cheese and he said it was good. I left very disappointed because the place has so much potential.

Although this place is still decent in terms of the quality of fish, their consistency seems to be lagging and prices seem out of line for what is essentially a family reestaurant. We had "dinner" here last night. I had the sword fish club (pretty good!) with slaw (small but great!) and fries (thin cut, mushy and cold?). My wife had a cup of clam chowder (always excellent!) and the seared ahi stack appi (smothered in so much wasabi mayo, you could not taste the fish-bleh!). With $20 wine, tax and tip this was a $70 dinner? I left wondering if we should have ordered something else and feeling the money probably would have been better spent elsewhere.

Shrimp cocktail. Very fresh. Never had local mexican shrimp before. It was delish and the texture meaty. Hubby - macadamia encrusted Alaskan halibut. Me - the local halibut piccata style. WHOA. I LITERALLY SWOONED AFTER THE FIRST BITE OF MINE. So glad we chose this place - wish we were staying long so we could return!

We came here because we wanted to go to the place next door but it was closed. The happy hour was good, we got drinks and sushi. The shrimp tempura roll was very good. For dinner we got the fish tacos and shrimp torta which were extremely average, really no flavor. You would sooner enjoy fish tacos from Chiliâs than from here. Cute atmosphere though

We ate at this restaurant two years ago when we were on vacation and love it, so we made it our first stop when we returned. A lot has changed in two years, we were disappointed: Inattentive server, mediocre food and cocktails. There are much better seafood restaurants in San Diego, especially for the price, you may want to try Blue Water Seafood or Spike Africa's both these restaurants were outstanding.

Great ceviche and sushi. Felt like I was in the southern sates where they have lots of this kind of laid-back vibe! I wouldn't order the albacore again ...tad too dry for my taste. Still, I'm looking forward to going back, which I'll do with a grp of out of town friends...I'm looking forward to their opinion

Dined here with an old friend on Thursday night. Greeting and service were prompt and attentive. Enjoyed steamed mussels which were prepared in a coconut milk both. My friend had fish and chips which she reported were delicious. I had market priced wild salmon which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. It was accompanied by well prepared garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. The wine list has a varied selection by the glass at a fair price. They also seem to specialize in sashimi. One item to note is that parking can be tight. The restaurant has stall parking out front and a small lot along side. However at 5:30pm we caught the last space available any place near the property. I recommend Bay Park Fish Company. Informal, reasonable and they know how to prepare seafood.

They have the best fish tacos in town. The service is generally very good and they carry some terrific craft beers. It has a low-key, comfortable vibe that is great for families, couples, etc.

nice local restaurant that has a very good selection of beers. The seafood is super fresh and top notch. Nice happy hour options too.

This has been a favorite of one of my coworkers who loves to fish & eat seafood, so I know the food will be good. And after a few visits, I can attest to the quality of the fare. From the lightly citrusy clam chowder to the sushi rolls and the seared ahi tuna wonton tower, the food were all very tasty. The draft beer list has been greatly expanded to include many of San Diego's finest microbrews. You can't go wrong eating here.

We stopped in for lunch mid-week while out and about in the area. Good service, quality food, large portions, good beer selection.

Great food and great draft beer selections. Fresh fish was fantastic on entrees. Well worth the trip. Excellent service.

Excellent spot for very good seafood. Varied menu, with something for everyone in the family. Not cheap but good value for the quality. I wish this place was in my neighborhood.

I've been coming to Bay Park Fish Company from time-to-time for the past few years, and the one thing that stands out to me is the customer service. The staff always goes above and beyond to ensure a great experience. I generally order the macadamia nut crusted halibut. It's definitely worth trying. I've also tried a few other things on the menu and they didn't disappoint.

Recommend to us by locals, this was a great find for seafood. Prices were reasonable and the server highlighted the lobster tacos, which were great. The sushi was ok, mussels broth fab. Nice atmosphere, casual bar with great beer selection. We'd like to come back for the taco Tuesday specials!

Yes, the fish is fresh. Had dinner here at the recommendation of a guy who works on the fishing boats in San Diego. We had the Macadamia Encrusted Halibut and it was overcooked. Flavor was fine. Also tried the Garlic Roll and it was very good, but overpriced. I saw others eating the mussels, and the place is always crowded. In summary, a bit steep in price, fresh fish, but not the best cooking.

I was visiting San Diego and did a Yelp search for "cheap local seafood" and Bay Park Fish Company caught my eye. This is a very local restaurant that sits in a residential neighborhood and has an obviously local clientele. We dined early on a Saturday (5 pm) and the place was already packed! (They only take reservations for larger parties, however). Since it's located in a neighborhood, parking is at a premium. We luckily found a spot after 5 minutes of circling, so be warned if you're driving. The interior is comfortable and unassuming, with fish on the walls and very sparse nautical decor. The restaurant was created by "two fishing buddies and their wives," and they focus on fresh seafood. On the menu, you'll see items like tacos and stew that features whatever today's "fresh catch" is. So you know you're supporting local fishermen and get really fresh fish. We opted for a cup of clam chowder and a cup of the fish stew for starters. Both were excellent, and the portion size was really big for a cup! My stew probably had enough fish chunks for an entire light meal, and the tomato broth was flavorful and delicious. The clam chowder was thick and packed with clams. Both were excellent. I was pleased at how quickly our food came to the table! Service was friendly, efficient, and very fast, making this a great choice if you have kids or are really hungry and want to eat something that's NOT junky fried fast food, quickly. Our entrees were up next: the grilled local halibut taco plate ($20) and the green chile burrito with shrimp ($17). The portions were in line with the prices (San Diego is an expensive place!), and the seafood in each item was very fresh. I did think my tacos were lacking in flavor, and the green chile burrito wasn't anything that special. The accompanying beans (black or pinto, we got black) and rice were standard fare. I wouldn't call the entrees disappointing, but after how terrific the soups were, it was a little bit of a letdown. Just ask for some hot sauce if you order the tacos. I'd love to go back to dine here the next time I am in San Diego. I think I will order just a piece of grilled fresh fish next time, however. If you're looking for a truly local place that's far away from all the tourists, check this place out!

Visited this restaurant on our first night in San Diego. 3 of us had fish & chips which was great value at $13 & I had halibut rice & veg. The fish tasted great but I found the rice & veg to taste bland. I spoke with a waiter & he brought me a lime based sauce that completely changed the taste of the meal. Seen other reviews saying about blandness so definitely ask for sauce, it changed the taste from mediocre to fantastic. Will definitely return before we leave.

The restaurant itself is quite casual, which made the prices somewhat surprising. The food itself was very good, my party enjoyed the fish and chips which was a huge portion. Others ordered macadamia nut crusted halibut which was flaky, the glazed salmon which was well cooked, and I had an order of the spicy tuna roll, which was very nice and well prepared. The service was friendly and efficient, the food came out very fast.

Had this recommended by a friend who is chef. It is small casual friendly place with all tables and no booths. We had party of eight and they fixed us right up. The menu MLS really two parts with well priced items in large portions (I had fish tacos). They also have some higher priced entrees. A bit load too. Parking is on local streets as this seems very much a neighborhood place. We plan to return on our next San Diego trip.

As a long term San Diego resident Bay Park has become our go-to choice when showing off San Diego's wonderful seafood. It's a small, intimate neighborhood gathering place that has some of the freshest seafood in town. Their Macadamia crusted Halibut is by far my favorite. The mussel starter (at least 30 mussels for $12.) is a terrific value along with the fish tacos. Haven't found a single dish I didn't like and everyone we have taken has raved about it.

But I think they over cook some of their fish, Great place for dinner, intimate & cozy neighborhood. They do need to expand their menu though. Best thing I tried was the Bay Park roll. It was yummy!

Very good food. Would recommend this restaurant. Had macadamia halibut. Chowder was good as well as crab cakes. Service was good also.

I'vea been going here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. All the fish is fresh and prepared just right. Their happy hour prices and bar menu are the best deal in town. The sushi is always prepared just right and very fresh. This place rocks when it comes to serving the freshest fish. The only thing I miss is the fish case they replaced with more seating. I like to see the freash catch of the day.

We wanted seafood and this did not disappoint! Order the oysters...fresh and tasty! Also had the ciopirra which is a fan favorite. So delicious! Beer and wine only with great local options. Fun ambiance with open front to enjoy the weather!

Great little restaurant. Local and down to earth, not too expensive for decent food, and FAST! Nice not to keep the toddlers waiting... Plan an extra couple minutes to park, as is typical. (Pro Tip: we liked the cod fish and chips over the halibut version)

This place is amazing! Nothing short of everything I ever wanted! I highly recommend! All of the seafood, the servers and even the music was so great. My husband and I came here on business from Nebraska and didnât want to leave.

We absolutely loved bay Park Fish Vo. and went on a recommendation of friends we were visiting- The food and value far exceeded our expectations but because of the crowds, service was a little shoddy and slow. In any evert, we will definitely return, if for no other reason than the enormous bowl of fresh mussels in a terrific curry sauce. The Clam Chowder was also excellent and the rainbow roll of sushi was good as well.

The halibut fish and chips where awesome. Hard to find halibut (fish and chips around here). Very busy on a Friday night. Service was excellent. Our server (Dominic) was slammed and still managed to keep us happy. Macadamia nut crusted halibut was incredible. We make it down to this area a few times a year. This is now on our list of must go for food. Thank you for a great meal. Edamame (spicy) were good too.

Wonderful food, excellent service, fresh and delicious seafood, the peach dessert with wonderful ice cream

A great selection of local craft beers means the place is buzzing. The food is good too, we had some seafood and non seafood entrees and the fish tacos were a little bland, the rest was very good. Worth a visit.

One of our favorite happy hour joint. We love the variety and great service. Parking can be tricky but otherwise a good place to get together after work.

This review is of our 08/26/2020 visit. We loved this place so much we HAD to dine there the next night. We kicked ourselves for not dining there all three nights of our SD stay. That's how good the food and service is. Haddon, then Lindsay as our servers were awesome. Entire staff works together to get things done as a real team. They all care about the customer. Makes for a really laid back atmosphere. Now to the cuisine. On this visit, we shared the curry coconut mussels again, and a shrimp cocktail. Then we shared the seafood pasta entree. Back to back nights of OMG! Huge, fresh, tasty mussels were swimming in the best curry I have ever tasted. BAM! We devoured the saucy bivalves and sopped up every last bit of sauce with bread, spoon and fingers. Seven jumbo shrimp in the cocktail were perfect. WOW! Came with enough ketchup and horseradish to make a sauce of your heat preference. We like ours sinus clearing hot. Then came the entree! OMG! Huge portion, enough for two, of seafood and linguine smothered in a kick ass spicy cream sauce. We devoured all of the seafood, but not the pasta and sauce. Had the leftover pasta later that night. This place is the bomb! Highly recommend!

Met a friend here for dinner as it's near her house and my hotel. The food here was excellent, and the service was attentive and friendly. We shared a mussel appetizer, but her grilled brussel sprouts killed my senses. My swordfish with mashed potatoes and veggies was excellent. - the side caesar was huge and probably too much prior to an entree. Would recommend: Yes Would re-patronize: Possibly

I am never disappointed with this neighborhood gem. Best yellowtail sashimi ever!!! I would highly recommend. It's the only place I go!!! Thanks!

Ended up here for an early dinner the other night. The service was friendly and my server brought crayons for the kids right away (nice touch). The kids didn't order anything special (just a chicken quesadilla), but it was solid and they enjoyed it. I was very pleasantly surprised by my sushi rolls. Quite tasty. I will definitely be back to try some of their other specialties. A great neighborhood find in up-and-coming Bay Park. A good stop after a day at Mission Bay too.

We went for their calamari during happy hour and added a few other items. Good food, nice atmosphere, and helpful staff during our dinner. I would recommend you go earlier with a large group.

Bay Park Fish Company is an excellent little seafood restaurant. The menu is extensive, and includes everything from Mexican-inspired to Japanese-inspired (including a sushi bar). The seafood is always fresh and tasty.

We went to BPFC based on a recommendation and we are very grateful for that. It was probably the best dining experience on our entire trip. The food was amazing...my wife had the Macadamia Crusted Sea Bass, the kids had the Fish & Chips and I took the waitress recommendation of the Shrimp Burrito. All the food was fresh, delicious and prepared perfectly. The Burrito would not have been my first choice, but I am glad I had it as it was the best meal I have had in a while. I will warn you about 2 things...it is a very large burrito and it is pretty spicy...I love spicy food so I really enjoyed it, but it was way too spicy for the rest of the family. Our waitress (Nina) was perfect...friendly, professional and super sweet with everyone there. She made the experience even better than the food. Definitely need to stop by here if you are in the area.

Food came out piecemeal. We had to keep asking where the rest of our order was at. Had to askfor silverware as not all of us had any. My wife had to ask for the shrimp that came with her order. Her meal was good, but my fried calamari was not good at all. I would not rush back there. Way overrated.

Excellent food and drinks. Tried the fish and chips and Halibut. Delicious! Server was so friendly and food came out quickly. Fun light atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Pop into this little spot often as I am living nearby. Never disappointed. Always fresh and delicious. Gets crowded and loud at meal hours and on weekends. Parking is at a premium, but I can walk!

This neighborhood restaurant is known for its quality fish entrees. Quite simply put, the kitchen knows fish and how to cook and present same for diners. There are fish sandwiches and fish tacos, as well as larger fish platters. Much of the time the fish served is fresh, not frozen. Many of the choices can be cooked to diner specification. Understand also that the dishes are not fancy-dancy, but are prepared simply and still taste quite good. There are non-fish menu items for those who do not want fish. If one is considering this restaurant, know that there is no dedicated parking lot. Rather, parking is on the street and spaces are usually filled. Adjacent streets may have to be used for parking spaces. The neighborhood is generally safe, so parking a block or two away should not ordinarily be a problem. The restaurant sits next door to an old-fashioned meat market, where meat is cut to customer specification. So the area is busy, busy much of the time. A top-rate restaurant that serves well-prepared food at reasonable prices.

They have to go back to their old menu. To much to read....I usually have the fish stew. Tasted delicious until last week. Very blend & sad. Wasn't happy with my sushi roll. It was mostly rice...Their mule is served in a tiny kids size mule mug and it's not very good. Don't know, if I would go back...

Casual seafood restaurant. A couple of table outside on the walkway, good seafood and a variety. I have eaten he a number of times. It's more of a neighborhood spot for casual dining.

We were visiting from Arizona and wanted some tastey fish. I had the fish tacos they were fabulous. Got them blackened so delisous.Hobby had a blacked shrimp burrito. This was our favorite restaurant on our trip. Local beer and wine available .

Service was great and friendly! Fun, lively place with a nice ambiance. The food is fantastic! My seven year old can't stop talking about & my husband loves his T-shirt he got!

As you walk into the place, it seems like an ordinary casual sea food restaurant, but what a surprise when the food was delivered. This was fine dinning at its best. The only thing that was better than the food presentation is the flavor

Excellent food, great service, nice ambiance. We went here with a large family group and requested the back room, it was perfect. The noisy kids could interact without bothering others. From kids meals to halibut fish and chips, fish tacos, fish and shellfish pasta, plenty of choices and we each loved our food! No hard liquor, but great beer list and the lemon drop drink was delicious!

Whenever we're anywhere on the West Coast, we seek out the halibut. We've had some bad experiences, but mostly great ones. Bay Park was definitely great! The Macadamia Crusted Halibut was nice and flaky, was a huge portion, and whatever the spiced cream sauce is that is drizzled over it is wonderful. The venue is very very casual and laid back. Prices are very good, and the service was great! Note that this is a beer/wine bar only. Wasn't a problem for us, but worth mentioning.

Although the restaurant itself is dimly lit, the food was delicious. The presentation of the food was excellent, a surprise as it was not expected because of the laid-back atmosphere. I would return to eat there again!

My wife and I Were hungry driving around San Diego when we came across bat park fish co. Parking is free for two hours and close to eatery. The eatery is very clean with a bar area next to dining area. The server was very helpful on deciding what to order. My wife order the half seafood sandwich and salad. I ordered the cod fish and chips with coleslaw. Both of our meals were fresh and cooked perfectly. We both highly recommend bay park fish company to enjoy a fresh seafood meal.

Stopped by at happy hour and really enjoyed the mussels and sitting outside. A little off the beaten path, but worth seeking out.

Good casual atmosphere, half restaurant and half bar. good drink selection and reasonable prices. Daily special so check those out ahead of time.

My fault - should have asked what the "market price" was for the halibut. It was good and a large piece but overkill for lunch and sticker shock when I got the check. They could cut the piece down by 25%, add a piece of bread and maybe do something other than just greens over it and charge maybe $18. Now - the good news - they have some of the best fish tacos in town (I'm a local). We've tried maybe a dozen different places and their grilled fish tacos are great - priced right with a lot of fish. We've stayed away from their entrees at dinner because they are so expensive but I didn't think lunch was going to be like that. Oh - it can be very, very noisy inside but they have nice, if limited, outside seating.

We enjoy visiting this casual restaurant / fish market occasionally for a REAL fish fix. Although not cheap, the fish and related sauces are outstanding. A unique entree was my wife's swordfish picatta. We were there at happy hour, with nice discounts on appetizers and drinks. The ambience is a bit noisy, but very friendly and comfortable.

We ate here today because Luce almost next door was not serving lunch until 1:30. Big mistake! The fish and chips was awful -funny tasting grease and the tiniest serving of fish and chips I've ever seen , and I 've seen lots of fish and chips. Unprofessional staff seemed not to care. Even cold slaw was terrible. Don't go here!

a little over-rated in their main dining area. It is a big relatively unadorned square with some mounted fish (what else) on the wall. Nothing reduces the noise! the food is fresh but is often drowning in butter. Best bet is to sit at a high-top in the bar a have their delicious fish stew and some fresh sushi preparations!

Same excellent seafood and wonderful remodel! You had me at cioppino! Sushi is excellent as well. The carnivore in the family raved about the New York Steak. Went back for brunch and really enjoyed the Crab Cakes Benedict. Other favorites on subsequent trips are Crispy Calamari salad, Calamari Torta, Shrimp Tacos, and Truffle Fries. The dessert menu is limited, but who has room?

The Gannon Family enjoyed yet another great dinner of quality Sushi and amazing Halibut at our local Bay Park family restaurant.

Stopped by because it had good reviews and was nearby. Good food, not spectacular, however, it was enjoyable and I would go back again. I was very hungry and had several plates. Oysters on the half shell. Oysters had excellent flavor, however, the shell fragments made them less than desirable. Ceviche was fresh and flavorful but not outstanding. Lobster and bacon Mac n cheese good but not outstanding. Mussels again good but not outstanding. A large selection of beer.

Bay park fish company is a great seafood casual restaurant. Their produce are fresh. Fish market is a plus. We love their fried or grilled fish tacos....great deals for happy hour. My only disappointment is their market price for a fish salad ($24 or more is outrageous in my opinion). Casual and friendly service. Great place for families, easy parking.

Average food in a decent friendly environment. Avoid the salads as they are totally boring - a huge mound of baby greens with a few cucumber and grape tomatoes. The kids meal fried fish was delicious.

My son lives in the area and loves this place. He took me there and while the food was good, it was very noisy and hectic. If you are looking for a quick meal in a very casual, California style place, recommend you give it a try. Service was very good and staff friendly. If you are looking for a quiet place to visit, this is not it.

Really great sushi and ahi poke. Great happy hour. You canât go wrong with any of the appetizers. I crave the shrimp tempura sushi! So good.

Nice casual place near mission bay, with fresh seafood and sushi. Be prepared to on street packing we did not find a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant.

Checked out Bay Park Fish Company for lunch on a nice, sunny Saturday after completing a short hike nearby. We were with my dog and so we enjoyed the nice weather on the covered patio. Parking/Service: At around 12pm, we didnât have trouble finding street parking, though Iâm sure it can be a nightmare during busy times. Shout out to our waitress Jade for being attentive. There werenât very many others in the restaurant so everything came out pretty quickly. The inside was pretty spacious with a bar and many 2-4 table seats. It looks like it could be good a larger party. It would seem this place can get busy during happy hour. Food: *If you check in on Yelp, you get 50% off an appetizer or dessert* Unfortunately, the sushi menu was not available until 2pm but we enjoyed the appetizer and tacos! -Crispy Fried Shrimp ($16): choice between lemon pepper panko or coconut crusted. Opted for lemon pepper panko served with cocktail sauce after our server said she liked this better. Nicely battered and fresh! -Bay Park Fish Tacos ($16): you can choose between fish, shrimp, carne, chicken, or halibut. Two tacos served on either flour or corn. Usually served with rice and beans but my husband ordered fries on the side instead. -Shrimp A La Diabla Tacos ($18): 2 tacos served with rice and beans. It was good but it wasnât that spicy. Overall: Enjoyed the service and food. Will definitely come back to try out other items on the menu!

We asked a local woman at a park where to go for fish tacos for our last lunch meal in San Diego this trip. She instantly responded, "Bay Park Fish Co." It was easy to find. The only difficulty was finding a parking place--ended up 3 blocks away. The fish tacos were excellent (second best I've had); the rice very good, and the beans typical. A good, hot sauce came with the meal. We had different kinds of peppers and don't know why. The weather was perfect for outside dining. That was a good thing, because the place was packed. Service was a bit casual, but friendly.

Ciopino rocks. The special taste is build in by a house recipe and plenty of fish. The White Clam Chowder, again is without comparison. I have visited Boston and they cannot compete. Professional staff exceeds expectations. Fish and chips rock.

The food was excellent, we started with the fried Calamari along with the fresh oysters. entrees are large portions with excellent flavors. Service was good, responsive to all the beverages ordered and knowledgeable. I would definitely go back!

Family owned. Fresh. Excellent. All without pretentious dress up and over priced menu items. We ate on a whim, and our whim will be a do again and again. Our server suggested the Tuna WonTons, which are a crispy generous layer appetizer. That along with the catch of the day and calamari torta (sandwich) made us believers that this is just not another âfishâ place, but a family owned business built on passion.

Clam chowder was good if you don't like clams. Over spiced to the point you can't taste the clams. Local halibut might have been good but it was pre lemoned so really couldn't taste the halibut. Green chile burrito with carne asada was good. It is a tomatillo based green chile, mildly spicey. Decent draft beer selection and good service.

This restaurant deserves to be in a better location so more people know about it but I have to say enough people do that the place is practically full, even on a Sunday night. The food is really good. The only reason I gave it a 3 is for the prices. I think $15.00 for a sandwich is quite high.

We had lunch today and had a salad with a piece of halibut on it. It was good, but cost $29...won't be going back there for lunch soon

We had Sea Bass w/ Rock Shrimp and Swordfish Piccata, both were very good tasting and generous portions. Service was best yet while in San Diego.

We went for a family dinner 12 of us- and were seated at the high top in the back of the dining room. We asked to be seated in the next room that was empty but were told it was for banquets. It was really loud and our parents, who are hard of hearing didnât hear a thing. Food was ok but slow. Donât think weâll choose this spot for a family dinner again.

Visited for the first time in June, food was good. I had their highly-touted lobster tacos, decent flavor but corn tortillas were store bought and didn't hold up to all the lettuce and slaw they put in the tacos. Get them on flour. Beans and rice were so-so. Had the Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was great. Clam chowder was good but used lots of bay spice and sage, plus corn which seems like an odd seafood soup addition. My wife had the fish tacos with cod. Tasted good, nothing special but simple and fresh. Good local vibe, parking is in the neighborhood because of the location but the walk isn't too bad. Would go back and try some different things next time.

Friends recommend we go and WOW are we glad we did. First off the service was excellent and everyone is very friendly. The food is so good. My wife and I shared the Sunset Roll which was so fresh and tasty. Then we split the surf and turf burrito and again this was an awesome dish. Coming back for sure when back in town.

We wanted seafood and just happened to stumble across this place. It was SO good. The shrimp scampi special had a just glorious sauce. Servings were large and everyone liked what they had. The waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. It's a bit noisy, but with food this good it doesn't matter. We would definitely go back!

The food was wonderful and the ambiance very cheerful. Rather noisy but with a great neighborhood feeling.

Nice and authentic place. Somehow they serve all the food at once, which is a bit impolite considering the price, but notwithstanding food is very nice and service friendly. Good options for kids and adults.

We had the tuna fish stack, calamari, cviche, and happy hour spirits. Great place, great team, good prices with an outside patio. One on my friends had the large clam chowder and wanted to fall asleep right after.

We visited here after it was recommended by the concierge at our hotel. They were very accommodating as we were a large group of 11 which included children. Great menu and even good options for the children. The portions are really large and I especially enjoyed the calamari. We enjoy so much we returned on the last evening of our holiday.

The fish stew is very good, with a tomato base and large chunks of fish. It is a little picante and this adds to the wonderful flavor of the bowl of stew. The place has been offering good sea food for decades and is in a quiet neighborhood and a find for locals and few tourists. The service was good, a relaxing place that is quiet and has some out door seating. The prices were reasonable considering the quality of the food.

Great food ! I always order the Halibut rolled tacos. The plate is loaded with delicious beans, rice, three rolled tacos, avocado and salsa. The price for this plate - $10. There is enough on this plate to share. Clam Chowder is excellent. The restaurant is casual and relaxed. This place is one of those hidden gems that locals know about.

The Baypark fish company has been around for about 15 years. This family owned and family friendly and has the freshest seafood in town. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon looking for something out of the ordinary. We found it! The bar has a neighborhood feel to it and the menu is fresh and wonderful. My wife had fresh fish and I had an awesome service and turf burrito. We will come back here on weekends when we are looking for someplace fun to stop into.

Got into SD late on Tuesday 08/25/2020, checked into our hotel and went to find a place to eat. Ended up here and man was it good. Wife and I shared three appetizers. Mussels in a coconut curry sauce, clams in a lemon butter cilantro sauce, both with toasted bread, and a pair of crab cakes with remoulade sauce and sliced raw carrots. A pair of Margaritas on the rocks for each of us rounded out the meals. Start to finish, everything was excellent. Our server, Haddon was top notch. A real Johnny on the spot in every way. Earned himself a nice tip. We will be back if we're ever in SDC again.
Wished it had been better
Its been awhile since my last visit and was looking forward to a nice lunch. Parking was a problem. The food was average. My companion was also unimpressed. Service was fine. Plenty of opening seating.
