Very trendy hip location, great atmosphere, main level more of the restaurant - oysters on display - downstairs fun bar area. Great bar staff, we had cocktails and calamari (excellent) and coconut shrimp - really great place!

This restaurant is beautiful and also has very cool bar downstairs. We organized a HH with a real estate group and just loved this place. Every app we had was mouth watering. Can't wait to go back on a warmer day and enjoy a great dinner!

The food is fresh and delicious. We did not have a bad dish. The lobster roll is scrumptious. Mussels, shrimp, squid - can not be beat. The cabbage salad with the crab claws was superb. And do not pass up desert. The brownie sounds simple, but I could have licked the bowl clean! The coconut pie is yummy as well. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Just bring an appetite. I will be going back! The interior is cleverly designed like a ship - main restaurant upstairs and bar/lounge downstairs. For seating upstairs, you put your name on a list. Seating downstairs is first-come, first-served. The center table is communal. Service is efficient.

Wow! The food was amazing, very, very tasty, wonderful flavors. A fun atmosphere with a great patio. 'The Den, located on lower level offers even more fun. We didn't expect to receive such excellent service from the staff.

Everything that I have tried at Beetlecat has been awesome. The seafood is fresh and prepared perfectly. The customer service is awesome as well! I think that the potions could be a bit bigger for the price, although I do understand that the menu items are designed to be shared tapas style. Overall, I definitely recommend and will for sure be back myself!

Our family of two boys, their mother, and grandparents arrived early on a beautiful evening and ate outdoors. From fresh oysters to the octopus appetizer, from ribs to seafood stew and spicy udon noodles, all was delicious. And with attentive, friendly service. Very impressive.

Service was not good. Whole fish and the trout poke aka replaced salmon was really good. Check your bill. They tried to add stuff we didn’t order to our check.

Came here to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday with something a little different and we were not disappointed. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious with hearty portions. I definitely would go back and if you're in the area check this place out you will not be disappointed at all.

I was part of a group of 10 on a Saturday night. They sat us even though a few people arrived late. I had a couple of rum runners to start which were really good. A friend tried the fish house punch and report that it was very lemony and you can't really taste the peach whiskey. We tried a variety of small plates. The trout dip was really good and reminiscent of lox spread. The calamari and conch fritters were delicious without being overly greasy. The wings were a definite hit as was the lobster roll. The hamburger was reported to be very well seasoned. I was disappointed that the strawberry shortcake was unavailable even though it was listed on the website. I had the coconut pie instead which was pretty good as long as you don't mind a lot of coconut shavings.

There's a great bar under the restaurant (with separate entrance from the exterior) that feels sort of like a basement from the 1980's - complete with cocktails from the era. You can also eat down here and there's a patio as well.

I have come to Beetle Cat twice now! Each time was fantastic. My first visit on June 27, 2916 my friends and I received excellent service from Chris, Disney, Wesley and Daniel. We ate in the lower deck with great surrounding company. Amazing cocktails, even my none alcoholic beverage friend had to taste their Honolulu cocktail! The Banana Daiquiri won the taste test. My second visit on August 21st was enjoyed at the oyster bar. Raw oysters are the best! I tried the Blue Point Toasted Larger for the first time which happened to be an excellent pairing with the oysters we selected. Our neighbors were so much and helpful in selecting the best oysters. The Moqueca Stew was pretty unusually salty that evening. But the seafood chowder was on point. If you ever get to meet Andrew, you'll live him! 😊👍🏾

Great place - awesome food, fun & fantastic service, cool neighborhood. Don't miss it if you like seafood!

It's a cute nautical themed atmosphere in the Inman Park area. There are stairs to go down in the den (bar area) - super friendly bartenders who seem to really know the locals! We came for a Saturday morning brunch, and they do a donut brunch! The donuts are really, really good and they came out hot and fresh. I had a few friends order the different hashbrowns and they looked awesome. They said they were good, and they were pretty large portions. I also had the fried chicken which comes between two plain donuts - IT WAS HUGE and could not finish it, but very tasty! It's a nice spot, and we loved having donuts for brunch - something different than just grabbing donuts from a local shop! Thanks, Beetlecat!

For us, noise level, food quality, and service are key to choosing restaurants. Beetlecat scored high on all counts. It is such a pleasure to be able to have a conversation with your dining mates without needing to shout. We shared six dishes among the four of us, which was just the right amount to leave us satisfied but not over-stuffed. The salmon poke, lobster roll, and conch fritters were our favorites. I can't say enough good things about the wait staff and the manager. I had an email exchange with the manager the day after our meal, and she said, "We pride ourselves here at BeetleCat on giving our guest the best experience possible..." Our experience was exactly that -- staff working hard to ensure we had a great time and a fantastic meal.

Honestly, the cocktails need work. Nothing here came close to what's expected of cocktails in Atlanta these days. I'd stick to the wine list, which is solid. But.... The service was OUTSTANDING. The waitstaff went all out, every second of our meal. Gotta be among the friendliest and most earnest in the city. Also, except for the trout dip, which is underwhelming, despite the delicious homemade pita that comes with it, the food was creative and executed very well. I especially recommend the conch fritters, swordfish, and green papaya salad. Plus, the oysters were as good as the best seafood spots in town. I will return to try other items.

There were 4 of us and we got two Oyster appetizers and the Trout Dip- all delicious. We all had the Lobster Roll for dinner and devoured it. Great food and drinks and our server was fun and had great recommendations for drinks and dessert. We left and walked around and bar hopped. Great location and food- Can't wait to go back!

A colleague recommended this restaurant and I absolutely loved my meal! It was the best lobster roll ever! The portion was surprisingly hearty and filling. I will definitely dine at Bettlecat again.,😍

Fresh Oysters. Lobster Roll amazing!!! Mussels are exceptional. Servers are always available, pretty friendly. The music was great. Drinks cocktails awesome

We were looking for a restaurant after house hunting last Sunday and the one before that and drove by the restaurant. Been to others in the area and tried it out. Went for early dinner both times. Thought the food was really great. Like the green mango salad, oysters are fun, and reasonably priced. Also had the Shrimp Sugo noodles. Service is really great granted we are there at 5pm. I work for a chef who has given many great Atlanta based suggestions. I gave this in return. He went last week and really enjoyed it.

Six of us took the small plate sharing approach to this restaurant and it was great. Highlights were the skate (if meat can be described as "fluffy", this was it), octopus (the peppers were HOT), oysters and lobster roll. A top of the hat to the spirits man, as they served Death's Door Gin, the smoothest stuff around.

Located on two levels in the trendy neighborhood of Inman Park, this place has a fun, yet tasteful environment. Our server was both knowledgeable and helpful., Even with a table of seven, there wasn't a single glitch. Oysters are the star. There's lots of interesting ones to choose from and their described well on the menu, so it's a perfect opportunity to try a bunch, especially since they're smartly arranged in such a way that you can cross-reference them with the menu. We were told that the menu items are all made to be shared and served family style, which is a terrific way to try lot of different things given that there are so many options on the menu that sound tasty. And although all were delicious, some were awkward to share, such a bowl of Udon noodles, a (piping hot) fish stew with a side of rice (though they did serve additional serving bowls for that), a delicious lobster roll (while the lobster was in chunks, the single bun it was on, was not) and a whole fish (Bronzino). Go with a group of adventurous eaters and you'll have a great time. The "Den" downstairs is a great place to start for cocktails. Inside it's retro kitschy like a basement den from the 1970s (but not overdone). Magic eight balls on the bar provide guests' fortunes and old school lamps have a new school function with USB ports on their base. Outdoor seating is also available.

We went on a Sunday night for an early dinner (5:00). The outside patio was packed, but inside seating was readily available. This space is really cool. There is a downstairs bar / lounge with a covered outside patio and then upstairs in the main dining area with a bar and another patio (without covered seating). I really enjoyed the layout of the the entire restaurant / bar areas and could see this being a nice place to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon in the Spring. The server we had was awesome! She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. That always makes a huge difference. I wish I remembered her name. She was attentive and patient, especially considering we are picky eaters and made a lot of requests to alter the items (sauces / dressing on the side, etc.). I was also impressed with the backup staff that supported each other. Awesome service! The food was good, but I had really high expectations based on recommendations from friends. One friend said they prefer it over The Optimist, but I disagree. It probably has more to do with the fact that they are Cilantro happy with most of the dishes and I'm one of those people that can't stand the taste of it. No big deal since it was easy to pick out when I didn't request it to be left out upon ordering. We sampled a wide range of dishes. For starters, we had the kale salad (delicious -- highly recommended), bok choy (tasty with a lemony ...slightly hot vinaigrette taste), cabbage / crab salad (ok, not great), and tostones (ok, they were more yellow -- rather than green -- and thinly cut, which made them sweeter and greasier than they should be). For the main dishes, we had the shrimp (very good), swordfish in miso broth (kind of dry -- not great), and the bronzini (pretty good). For dessert, we shared the gluten free brownie sundae. I was happy to see this as an option since I don't eat wheat. It was very good! Overall, a great new addition to the Inman Quarter restaurant scene. I still prefer the food at the Optimist, but the staff and atmosphere make this a good option.

We chose this place for a holiday dinner date and it was a very good experience. Parking is paid in an adjacent garage or a difficult to find valet also expensive. Entering through a wind screen you are in a well decorated space facing a great bar with shellfish in view. Our seating was by the main street at a table for two and not too crowded against other similar tables. We ordered a bottle of French champagne and soon the waiter reappeared to say they were sold out but offered a glass of Cava on the house as a make up. We accepted and found the house Cava to be very good. The wine list needs work and to be out of French Champagne would have ordinarily changed my rating to average but the FOOD made up for it as did the quick action of management to make the evening what we expected. Our meal began with four oysters two each of the Rocky Shore and Sunberry. My wife enjoyed them and each of the sauces provided. Meanwhile I feasted on a cup of the house Seafood Chowder. Main course was Salmon Poke for my wife which turned out to be a small but delicious serving and I really had a great meal of the Moqueca Stew with a variety of seafood in a velvet textured creamy sauce. Maybe my appreciation of the meal was influenced by the well made Plymouth Gin up Martini that I chose to accompany.

Patio was nice place to sit at sunset but probably too warm at other times. Conch fritters were pretty good. Exceptional array of oysters. Branzino, wings, squash, papaya salad all very tasty, well prepared and big enough to share. Given the noise level at optimist, I will choose this place again. Strongly recommend.

The award-winning lobster rolls drove us here for dinner; two in our party had the rolls and loved them. I’m not really a lobster roll fan so no comments from me but there was a whole lobster on the roll and the presentation was very appetizing. ($30). The restaurant had lots of windows with great light so it was a very pleasant space. Our server Gill (LOL, really) was delightful and gave us good ordering advise. The kale & fig salad is delicious…unfortunately I ate it before I could take a photo! We also had the Moqueca stew which is a seafood/fish stew in curry coconut base (Thai) served with a cup of white rice. It was very good; there are several Asian-prepared items. Very delicious was the corn starter….perfectly charred with well-seasoned cotija cheese sauce on the bottom so it didn’t drench the corn. It was off the cob. Other friend had the salmon and he said it was one of the best salmon dishes he’d ever had – and he eats salmon everywhere we go. Choco cake and carrot cake for dessert. Carrot cake top notch, chocolate cake good but nothing special. My favs were the kale salad and the corn. We had a very early dinner and the crowd was small, but the place really gets busy on weekends so make reservations if you can. We will come back for lunch to get the fried clam strips! Good location for an after-dinner stroll which is always a plus. Hip, high energy location and neighborhood. Park in the deck and save yourself the time from driving around looking for street parking.

To begin with we love oysters on the half shell and now we do not have to drive over to Decatur for exquisitely fresh oysters from both Canada and the US. The menu and the cocktails bring us back week after week. It is a great place to share appetizers and entrees; I am a fan of a limited menu with a tantalizing choice of dishes and Beetlecat delivers at every sitting - whether at the bar, on the outdoor patio or in the main dining area.

Oysters anyone? Came in with my boyfriend and sat at the Oyster Bar upstairs. We're from Massachusetts and it's so nice to get fresh oysters from The Cape here in Atlanta! We had drinks and oysters on the half shell and it was the perfect way to end a Sunday afternoon. While we didn't have one, the Lobster Roll was recently voted the best lobster roll in the country and it sounded pretty amazing! We'll definitely be back to try it!

We went for early (4 or 5pm) anniversary dinner. Brittany waited on us; she was sweet, friendly & knowledgeable. We had several different kinds of oysters; they were all terrific. We had other little plates; all were good. The decor is 70s utility boat, with metal windows, macrame owls, plaid itchy bench backs in orange & purple, pea-greeen chairs, reel-to-reel tape at the bar, & scenes from Jaws playing in the restroom. Really fun but at no expense to the food. Loved it, would definitely return.

We came here around 3:30 PM on a Sunday afternoon, day after the marathon. We had the best server near the lobster roll awards. We were very impressed with the seafood selection and knowledge of the server, who we all thought was one of the best we ever had: anywhere, US; Europe, NYC; and etc. The waiter knew the food very well. We enjoyed lobster rolls on fresh buttered brioches and fries; peppery shrimp, oysters on the half shell; a kale salad; and coconut cream pie. My mom wanted to clean her hands of the pepper on the shrimp. I asked the server for something expecting cloth wipes. He brought steamed towels with lemon.

We loved Beetle Cat! Great handcrafted cocktails....the painkiller was delish....so many flavors going on! And if you love seafood, this is the place in Atlanta! There were four of us and we sampled and shared a little bit of everything! They have a wide variety of fresh oysters on the shell...all were great! Other favorites were the conch fritters and the kale salad with butternut squash & feta,. The crab cake was superb, as was the lobster roll. The swordfish was served with a fabulous sauce and the crispy catfish was spot on! Only seafood dish that was not worthy of reordering was the mussels....the kimchee sauce was great but the mussels tasted too fishy, not fres! Our favorite dessert was the fabulous coconut pie, which is s recipe of one of the chef's grandma's recipes.....it wasn't a creamy variety but more like a pecan pie type! To die for!! The warm cookie with dark chocolate sauce was equal delicious. Loved Beetle Cat!

Two clients and I had an early dinner and drinks at Beetlecat the other day. Lively after work place and a great bar. We started with conch fritters and oysters for the table and they were terrific. The branzino was really good and the cocktails and wine superb. Casual seafood sums it up.

Had dinner here tonight. We started with a nice selection of oysters that were served beautifully. They were properly served with the oyster juice and separated from the shell. We then shared conch fritters, lobster roll and shrimp udon. Food was excellent and service was attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant

Our party of 3 had lunch with whole belly clams and baked oyster appetizers and the Fisherman's platter and a lobster roll. Frank's service was spot on. Seafood was wonderful (and we live in the world's luckiest fishing village-Destin, Fl -so we know good seafood when we see and taste it!) Great flavor with a light batter on the fried items complemented excellent chowder. Draft beer selection sealed the deal- Go there!

After waiting months to try this restaurant i finally stopped by after grocery shopping. It is tucked away in the Iman Park area like many of their restaurants. I have eaten in the area many times but never notice it. The garage parking is probably your best bet ($5 for 2 hours). I was greeted and seated immediately with a pleasant smile. It is a very clean, sleek and open environment. Lots of windows and open seating. I started by selecting 2 oysters to try, which was reasonably priced at $2.50-$3.00 per oyster (Happy Hour is from 4-6 and it is $1). My waitress brought it out very quickly and was served on ice with crackers and several delicious condiments. The oysters sold me and I'll definitely be back. The lobster roll was really good and had PLENTY of meat. It is worth the $25. The chips weren't for me. Could have done without them. Also order the seafood soup to go for $7. It was okay but i was a little disappointed after having such delicious oyster and the lobster on the perfectly buttery toasted bun.

Chef Ford Fry has another hit in my book. The hip urban setting in Inman Park is a great place for lunch or dinner... Inside or al fresco. I particularly like the patio outside the bar downstairs. We have dined there 3 times and have not been disappointed. The oysters are wonderfully fresh with a nice and varied selection. The Lobster Roll, which I have pictured, is to die for. Simple and focusing totally on the mound of lobster. While it is served with housemate chips, we splurged on the wedge fires and ate every morsel. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Go enjoy a leisurely weekend lunch and don't worry if you walk in off the Beltline, you can bring the dog!

My husband and I met a friend here for dinner. Since we hadn't seen him in 18 years, we knew we were going to need to go to a place where we could have an experience, not just food. This place was referred to me by a family member that lives in town. He knew we loved shell fish and great atmospheres. It was a Wednesday night when we arrived, and parking was packed. Fortunately, valet service was around the corner and reasonably priced ($6 for the night). We were sat quickly outside when we arrived around 6:30pm. The patio and long wooden, picnic-like tables were beautiful! We quickly learned the server was incredibly knowledgeable and walked us through the menu like a story. She had knee deep info on every item, including pairings. We handed over the wheel to her and let her surprise us with a sample of raw oysters, shellfish dishes, wine, hot toddy and desserts that lasted 4 hours! Each bite a well-crafted surprise! She took care of us consistently without pressure to get to the end of the meal. We only had to concentrate on the wonderful company, scenery, smells and tastes. It is pricey, but one of those places where you feel it was worth it. Prepared and polished enough for the price, but without the attitude some may have. (No table cloths or snooty servers) The service was beyond expectations! Attire we saw was casual chic. We came after work and we're comfortable, but didn't need the extra. This place is one of a kind!

Had great dinner last week. Oysters for starters were amazingly good. The rest of the meal the three of us shared three entrees. The lobster roll was the winner but everything was above average. Service was great in the beginning for was less great during the second half of the meal. Parking is a challenge. Find the deck and save money by not using the valet across the street.

Oh, Beetlecat. Where have you been my whole life!? No worries, we found each other that fateful Sunday at brunch, and my life will never be same. Mostly because I'll be chasing that high of awesome service, 70s kitsch decor perfection, and the combo of donuts and fried chicken FOREVER. Everything we ordered was mind-blowing. But we highly recommend the Irishman and the Buford Highway donuts, The Great American hash browns (we asked for it without the ham for me, and with bacon on the side for my husband, and he was quite pleased with that combo), the fruit bowl is super-fun and fresh, and BEST THING EVER: The Glazed Chicken (crispy chicken and a friend egg sandwiched between to glazed donuts -- it may just rival chicken and waffles). Also their coffee is fabulous. Oh, and... not sure why everything on the interwebs said this place was open at 11 or 11:30, when really it opens at 10:30am on a Sunday, but you have to walk around to the back. Thanks for existing, Beetlecat. I WILL BE BACK.

This place has charisma, character and a dynamic environment for dining. The service was very good and it was comfortable and enjoyable throughout. It's going the same way a lot of restaurants are going in which plates are shared. We started off with some oysters, which were the highlight of the night. They've pulled oysters from all over and they're know for their quality and taste. They didn't disappoint and we got a second round as well. We also ordered the conch fritters and the trout dip. The fritters were a solid addition to our meal, but the fish dip was severely lacking in taste. It was complimented with a fresh wheat loaf that was tasty and warm, but the dip itself seemed almost pasty. We were able to grab a few drinks with our meal and we were treated with some great Southern hospitality. If returning to Atlanta or Inman Park, I'd definitely consider stopping in again and trying something else along with the oysters as they have a very nice and large menu.

I'm addicted to the moqueca! Their kale salad is delicious as well. Add a great glass of gruner veltliner for a very reasonably priced and generously proportioned meal. This place is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Fingers crossed that they will allow dogs on their patio now that spring is here!

Each floor looks like a different boat. It's all very fun, open, welcoming. And the food! The food is fantastic and the portions are, if anything too big. The octopus salad is an unexpected combination of grilled octopus, radishes, cashews, hot chilis and labneh with warm, home made bread. The hamachi collar was delicious and far more than I could eat. The moqueca was creamy and wonderful. The skate was the size of a slab of baby back ribs. And did I mention the oysters?

Food is okay. I had the branzino, yellow snapper crudo, mexican street corn and a crap load of oysters. Branzino-weak crudo-salty mexican street corn- overcooked oysters- divine! The giuseppe negroni- entirely too sweet- diabetes Beer, wine and cocktail SELECTION- nice. For dessert... The pineapple upside down was sweet as can be but oh so delicious. The coconut pie was texturally odd and more like a chess pie, but flavorful and tasty. I would not come here, again. Except for drinks and dessert, and of course oysters. Stick to that, and HONESTLY, there are better oysters in Atlanta, not many places though, but they are in the top ten for sure.

Lovely evening outside. Delicious punch cocktail with lemon, tea, and peach whiskey. Best conch fritters, baked oysters, and apple cake with cinnamon ice cream.

I had dinner with a group of friends for a birthday. The service was great. All of us loved the food. It is small plates but enough to share with each other. Definitely will be back with new friends so they can try it. It was very cold that night so the outside deck downstairs was not open. Can't wait to try that out.

If you can't be at the beach, this is the closest you'll get in Atlanta. I love the ambience, the food and the service - what's not to like? Highly recommend the chowder, clams, lobster roll, Fisherman's platter, etc. Don't know about the burger. Casual and fun for lunch or dinner.

I came for my birthday brunch but wasn't even able to inform the staff of such celebration before we began to have issues. A manager came to our table to inform us there was no smoking on the patio congused we were like okay no one is smoking, no one lit anything so what are you talking about. He then tries to cover it up by saying he is going to all the tables letting them know. However, he did not because I watched him he only came to my table with the young, black, people at the table. We finished our brunch and was waiting for ousters to begin selling in doing so the servers where switching shifts and our original server was leaving. So we had closed our last check with her which we did not tip on because my friend paid for 4 different checks and she was tipped on the other 3. I say this because the manager again feels the need to come outside and approach us for not tipping. Not only does he do so he approaches the wrong guest in my party about the matter. However we were all seated at the table at the time so was quickly able to correct his wrongs. I have NEVER in my life had a manager ever go up to a table and plain as day just say "well we see you didn't tip".... he could have easily just covered it up by saying "how was your service?" recieving our answer and keeping it pushing. I had it in my right mind to ask for all the checks back and scratch the tip off of all of them because it was a good 10 of us, but I am not that kind of person. Needless to say I was never asked if we were celebrating anything, I wasn't asked how my meal was, or anything that could have made my experience there pleasant. I will not be going back. However, I would like to say thank you to our server KT for being so sweet and friendly and handsome 😊. Sooo I guess that's one way to bring in a birthday. 🙄😒

They tout the lobster roll so I went at lunch. Don't believe I paid $25.00 for a small sandwich with no sides. Place was almost empty. The service was excellent. However, this is way out of line for a small lobster roll, even if it was delicious.

Went early on a Friday night with friends. It was not that busy at first but then it filled up rather quick. Great food and great service. The oysters were super fresh. Tried a lot of different things on the menu, all were superb. Salmon, lobster roll, stew, fish and chips, tuna crudo, crispy potatoes, apple upside down cake with ice cream. You can't go wrong. The waitress had overheard us remark how are anniversary had just passed, at the end of our meal we were presented glasses of champagne as a congratulations. Can't wait to go back, a definite must try!

We loved the decor of sailboats and the sea, open and bright atmosphere. Menu is well put together, not huge but good choices. At first I felt it was a tad pricey but as in all things, you usually get what you pay for, and the food was top notch, first quality, cooked to perfection. We shared the lobster roll-fresh toasted bun and plenty of lump lobster meat, no fillers-and the haddock platter-lightly breaded, fried slices of fish, French fries to die for, light vinegar slaw and slightly spicey seafood chowder. We were completely satisfied, not overly stuffed, amd vow to come back soon.

Our server was C.C. who was a pleasure. She helped make our meal wonderful with my family. We ordered the Lobster roll and everyone loved it. I ordered the hot chicken with the plain jane donuts on the side. Oh man loved the chicken and then the donuts were sooooo good. Have to come back for just the donuts.

Although this isn't a place that caters to veggies/vegans, there are enough dishes that are either vegan friendly or can be made vegan (e.g., ask to leave off the seaweed salt off the peppers (which have bonito flakes) and they are an awesome vegan dish), so I highly recommend both for the great patio, and the decent selection of food for veggies/vegans. You should be ok dining at a community table though if they are busy - fine with me but not every one is down with that. no valet though, which in Atlanta at a decent restaurant is a minus.

We shared many of the items on the menu: oysters with fresh horsey cocktail sauce and vinegar based, conch fritters as fresh as in Grand Cayman, salt n pepper fried squid a new twist to stand octopus. Then we moved on to dinner: I came for the FAMOUS lobster roll and it didn’t disappoint! Actually better than I expected! Friends had red snapper and loved it too. We tried to pass up dessert but shared coconut pie and so glad we did!!! Even for the Valentines holiday we had great friendly attentive service! We plan to return soon!!!!!!!

Over the weekend we made it to Beetlecat for the first time. The restaurant does not take reservations so we arrived around 5:15. The decorations are very 70’s feeling and the place has a very hip feel to it. Dress code seemed more on the casual side. The restaurant has two levels. The upstairs has a raw bar and traditional dining tables. The down stairs has more of a bar type feel with its own bar area, a few seated tables and a small lounge area. There were plenty of seats at the raw bar upstairs and in the dining area. Downstairs the bar and lounge area were already full, but there were table seats. They have a lot of really fun drinks and we tried a few. The Bay Breeze for two was a fun drink the presentation is great tit is a large copper pineapple mug. We also tried a rum runner, fish house punch, and the winner of the night was the porter punch. It was fantastic as good as the others were the porter punch was hands down our favorite drink. As for the food we started with the salt and pepper squid which was one of our favorites. It is some very tasty calamari that is lightly breaded with a lot of flavor. We then had he Cobia crudo. It was very light. Truthfully I tasted a lot more cucumber and avocado than I did the actual cobia. This wasn’t bad but I don’t think I would get it again. We then tried the Octopus dig which was much better. The pita bread it is served with is delicious the octopus itself is tender on the inside with a crispy exterior. It suffered a little like the Cobia did from having a lot of “other stuff” and a small portion of octopus but I felt it worked much better with the octopus and would happily try it again. I must say the bar downstairs by about 6:15 was extremely crowded. We ended up moving to a bar seat and it was difficult to get up and use the restroom. You had to excuse yourself through the crowds. We loved having a few bites and some cocktails here Beetlecat seems very well suited for that kind of casual evening.

Segued here mid beltline walk. After about 3 miles we decided oysters were in order. But that's all they had so ya gotta love oysters or seafood. Cool 70's decor and vibe. Fun.

We stopped by by an hotel recommendation. Place is nice service is ok. Fried calamaries and cucumbers cesare salad was so salty. Not eatable. Lobster roll was nice.

I'm a big fan of Ford Fry, I love most of his restaurants; some more than others. The optimist will always be my favorite for seafood but the. We have the beetle cat... Everything was sooo good! Octopus, kale and peach salad, udon noodles... Every single thing I had was spectacular! Drinks were very tasty Also, and service was phenomenal! The only thing I wouldn't get again ( it was delicious but overpriced) the seafood fountain.

I love BeetleCat. It is located in the middle of the most hot street in Inman Park area. Interior is nice, bar located downstairs is awesome as well. I love all of their food but I especially love their raw oysters and lobster sandwich. Don't get discouraged by the size of lobster sandwich. It is filled with real lobster meat and your stomach will be filled for sure. Servers are all professional and kind. It is definitely one of spots that I'll visit regularly for good food and environment.

I love the different selections of oysters! We had the salt&pepper squid, cucumber salad and fried sweet corn! All was very good. Very nice waitress.

I used to love Beetlecat—especially for oyster happy hour—but after this last visit, I’m done they will never see me again. I arrived on time for my reservation, only to wait over 30 minutes past my scheduled time. While waiting, I ordered a drink at the bar and it STILL took about 45 minutes just to receive my espresso martini. It didn’t get better once we were seated. They were out of ketchup, out of one of the drinks my friend wanted to order, and when my other friends clam chowder finally arrived, it was served without a spoon. We watched servers run around for nearly 5 more minutes just trying to find one. It feels like they went viral for the holiday bar and completely weren’t prepared or staffed to handle the crowd. What used to be a great spot for me is now an overhyped, under-managed experience. The ONLY good part was our server Carson he was very apologetic and kind and kept in good spirits.

This was our first time at BeetleCat. I was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. We sat outside on the lower covered patio. The 3 of us shared all our dishes. We had the fry bread ($7). It was absolutely delicious. We had the squid ($16), lobster roll ($36), & the whole branzino ($30). The squid was incredible, it was served with some delicious veggies. The lobster roll was very good, lots of lobster but was hard to share since it was a sandwich. The branzino was excellent. It was deboned & it was fileted at the table. We shared 2 amazing desserts, the keylime pie ($9), which was excellent & the s'more ($7) which was incredible. Our server Kevin was fantastic. This was an excellent dining experience.

Disappointing. We used to love their food but they took the best thing they had (fish collar with jicama slaw) off the menu. So we went last night June 6th for dinner. The fry bread was outstanding, the raw oysters good as usual and the coconut pie was great. Now for the bad. We had the lobster knuckles. The rice cakes and the sauce was so salty you couldn’t eat it. We left 4 of them. My wife had the coconut fried rice and again it was so salty you couldn’t eat it. We took it home with us just to get the container and threw it away. We also had the tuna crude ( it was ok) and the beef tartar hand rolls and they were ok as well. After many fine meals we won’t be going back anytime soon.

Met my family for a quick bite while I was in Atlanta—just a side note ATL traffic is brutal. Nice location and it is probably a great place to visit when it is not cold. We sat near the door and it was freezing— they even hung drapes at entrance to try and block out the cold—mental note don’t sit by front door in winter. The menu was unique and the food was good I am not sure what I ate but it is set up for sharing. I would definitely go back in the spring 😉

Atmosphere was amazing. We didn't have reservations so we sat in the bar "below deck" since it was first come, first serve. The oysters were fantastic and it was fun that they have wine on tap that they serve by the carafe. That burger was also INSANE. It was a hit with the table.

Dined with a group of four and we all really enjoyed the vibe and the food. We shared small plates and raw bar items and there wasn't one dish that the group didn't like. The only con were the cocktails, we were not a fan. The service was also slow.

Nestled in Inman Park, you will find a nice little area that has lots of restaurants. BeetleCat is a wonderful spot to grab a bite to eat. Their menu is designed with items meant for sharing. It is tastefully decorated and dimly light to create a nice atmosphere. They a lot of specialty drinks that were very tasty. I️ suggest The Salty Dog. The food was exceptional. There Oysters were a little pricey, sold individually, however they were very good. The menu provides a flavor panel on each type of oyster so you know what your getting. That was a nice touch. We both had the Lobster Roll and share the Conch Fritters. The Lobster Roll was outstanding and had a surprising amount of lobster. The bun was toasted and lightly buttered providing the perfect taste. The Conch Fritters were cooked to perfection. They reminded me of the ones I️ had in the Bahamas. All in all this is a great neighborhood gem that we will visit again.

This place has a cool feel in Inman Park but it lacks energy. The staff are just 'there'. No leadership or sense of urgency. It is expensive for what it is. 10oz draft for $6. $11 for an 8oz Bloody Mary with a chemical tasting shrimp. The trout dip was good but portion was tiny for the price. Wouldn't bother returning.

Of all the Ford Frye restaurants this is the first to skip. I had an 8pm reservation on Tuesday night, we showed up on time at 8:02. We were seated near the computer where our waitress placed our orders. After the hostess seated us she told the waitress (standing right behind our table) that we were the last reservation of the night. The waitress exclaimed “oh thank god.” She was completely uninterested in our service experience. I was so uncomfortable and anxious to leave that we waited for our uber in the cold. There are too many wonderful restaurants in Atlanta to waste your time here. Skip. I will say the bar downstairs is great and I’ve been there multiple times!

Love, love, love this spot. It’s not stuffy but still sexy and the prices are reasonable. It’s two levels to this spot: the Den, live DJ, open bar, more loungy type feel and the main dining area upstairs. We dined upstairs because it was more quiet for us to converse. The service was super fast and our waiter treated us like family. Everything we ordered was super delicious! The lobster roll is to die for. The salmon tartar was out of this world. We tried several kinds of oysters. The chx wings were very tasty. It’s a definite go back to spot that I can’t stop talking about! My mission is to try everything on that menu! Never said that before about any restaurant. Very impressive to both hubby and I.

Had an early dinner with happy hour price oysters. Good selection of oysters and they were excellent. The Salty Dog cocktail was also excellent. I don’t know what the bartender does to make this simple drink so fantastic. Our server (wish I remembered her name) was wonderful. Will return ASAP.

What a neat little place. My friend and I ate in the downstairs area and it is really cute. We both had wine which is draft and both were good. We had the tuna tar tar and the carpaccio. Both were absolutely fantastic. I mean amazing. I want to go back and try so many other things. The manager brought us over a piece of coconut pie that was to die for. Definitely will I go here again. Loved it.

Ford Fry once again deliveries a fantabulous dining experience! I love it, I say go, fall in love with it like I have and nosh on the yummy conch fritters, salt and pepper squid, the absolutely ridiculously delicious mussels and do not, I repeat, do not miss out on the El Capitan Plateaux! That would just be a travesty if you did! And.... if there is any room left...well give the coconut cream pie a spin along with a glass of the Fish House Punch!

A friend sent me a review calling their Lobster Roll the best in the World. I'm from New England so if it could make the Top 10 I'd be happy. Did not come close to making my Top 10. I will agree they appeared to use mostly or all claw meat. However there was a slight salty taste and it was served on a round roll on an appetizer sized plate. $23 and nothing served with it. Really?? With tip and tax $29 and then $4 for parking in the suburbs . $33 I won't be back.

This was a 3 star food experience but the service pushed it all the way up to 4. For reference, we came at 11 PM on a Friday for their late night menu, which includes burgers, fries, lobster rolls, etc. It wasn't terribly busy and we were immediately seated. I got a lobster roll on the recommendation of the waiter, who said it was the best ever and won a national competition in Maine. It came with chips and a lemon wedge for a market price (although I never found out what that price was) My friend got a burger and boozy milkshake. The food came out fairly quickly, and the first half of my lobster roll was very good. Soft lobster on a challah roll with a touch of mayo and lemon. However, once I got halfway through the sandwich, I got an entire hunk of lobster (half a sandwich worth) that was rubbery and tough. My friend reported her burger was very good (not great) and milkshake was very good as well. When I told the waiter about my sandwich, he immediately asked what he could do so that I walked out happy. I mentioned that I didn't want another sandwich, and he immediately said he'd take it off the bill, no questions asked. That alone makes me willing to try Beetlecat again--there is a clear commitment to making sure the customer enjoys their meal. 3 star food for my meal, but 5 star service. I'll update when I try it again.

Love the coconut shrimp and the lobster roll. crab salad is very good as well as their selection of raw oysters.

This is a oyster/seafood place. We walked over after having Tappas at Barcelona. We wanted to have some oysters. This place is a specialty oyster place. Oysters from everywhere!. You can taste them all. Our table had a few drinks and some dessert. Strawberry shortcake was really good. Thanks for the great service Tyler!

If you dine in, ask for TK! I took a friend here last night, and we had a great time. TK took such good care of us that I will make sure to ask for her again when I come back! THANK YOU, TK!

End to a perfect day - family walk on The BeltLine, detour at the exit to Inman Park, we enjoyed THE. BEST. LOBSTER. ROLLS. I am from New England and I know lobster rolls. Friendly attentive service. Optimize your visit and sit on their deck allowing you to take in the sites and sounds of this bustling neighborhood.

Very uniquely designed! Top floor nautical theme glass tile, rope and subway tiles, feel of being on a hip ship! Raw bar has oysters from North America and other exceptional fair. Downstairs is the 70's den/lounge. Lots of rustic orange huges and macramae art and metal 70's art. Great evening.

I am from New England so was a little skeptical about a seafood restaurant in Atlanta. I was delighted to be proven wrong. The decor here is great, the service very good and the food is excellent. Drinks are fun and tasty. We had the tuna, fried okra, kale salad, baked clams, crab salad. All was delicious. This is a great addition to vibrant Atlanta restaurant scene.

i visited beetle cat and loved it. their late night menu is amazing and closes at 2. there is a DJ spinning vinyl records on the weekends. we sat at the bar and Keesha was my bartender who gave great suggestions on what i should drink and eat at this time of night. we decided on the korean bbq wings, salt and pepper squid, patty melt and the chicken sandwich. they were all amazing and came out quickly. our drinks were made quick as well and the bartender constantly made sure we were doing ok. it is always great to know that the bartender keeps an eye on you whether its to keep water in your glass or asking if you are ready for your next drink when you just got finished or if your food is to your exceptions. Great staff, great location, great food, great music. Love this place.

Tried this place on a visit to my daughters house. Greeted and brought to our table very quickly and our waitress went over specials. When she returned we started to enjoy some of the beat selection of oysters I’ve ever had! The fact we hit oyster happy hour was a plus. The Fish House Punch was awesome and has a nice kick. The shrimp, octopus dip and fry bread also all winners. Place is spotless, staff was friendly, prices fair. If you’re looking a new place on the beltway..gotta try it!

The name caught my attention first and now the menu has me hooked....really. Situated on the corner of N Highland and Elizabeth this restaurant has a creative menu that doesn't give the dishes their just due. Everything we tried has been stellar, so stellar that I found myself eating slower and slower when I saw that my dish was almost gone. The portions are sufficient, quite filling, not overwhelming. You'll be satisfied for sure, Here are a few of my favorite dishes thus far: shrimp, Moqueca stew-this dish is the business (that means amazing), the lobster roll-big pieces of lobster meat),the oysters on the half shell-fresh and tasty, the kale salad is really good and refreshing and the upside down pineapple cake for dessert -this will send you over the edge. On the weekends there is a lie DJ on the lower level that took our dining experience to a whole 'nother level. We had a ball dancing around like we were at the club.....whew! What a great combination-great food, bumping music, great and attentive service all at the same place. #Winning My goal is to visit this restaurant as often a possible as often so that I can try EVERYTHING on the menu that peaks my interest. Yes, it's that good. See you there!

They oysters were fantastic! However most of the Fishermans Platter Lunch Box was fried, it all was super yummo. You can't beat getting the $4.95 Cheeseburger! 🍔

My review is actually for "The Den" which is the downstairs bar that happens to serve food too. The Den is upbeat and funky with a fun bar staff that is ready to make you some creative twists on the most popular cocktails. It's not a large space but it's enough to pack in enough tables and the bar to make it lively. You go here because you want some great drinks with your seafood, not the other way around. The food is really good but the space is a bar, not a restaurant. If you want a restaurant with good drinks, then you can go upstairs. Another bonus to the The Den, you won't see any children in the Den. On this trip we were there for some oysters. I love raw oysters of all kind. My brother in law likes big oysters. He thinks big is beautiful. So needless to say, I thought the prices for the oysters were in line with the freshness and the quality of oysters they serve. He thought for the price that they should have been bigger. It's a quality vs quantity thing. I'm not going to try and explain it, much less try to understand it. Just keep in mind that if you are like my brother in law, you are going to think the oysters are too expensive for what you get. We were there around 6:00 on a Saturday and the Den was packed. I think it only gets busier as you progress into the evening. More people, more fun. The expect a crowd. I'll go back. Ford Fry strikes again.

My husband and I went to Beetle Cat for date night and had a great experience. We love seafood, and everything we tried was delicious. We started with fresh oysters that were served with all the right condiments. My original daiquiri offset the oysters perfectly. We also sampled the conch fritters which were flavorful and had a nice bite, but weren't as good as the ones we've had in the Bahamas (I know, tough standards). We shared the fried skate lettuce wraps which were AMAZING. The server de-boned it for us and it was so much food. The amount of greenery that came with it (mint and cilantro leaves, limes, along with grated carrots and some other pickled veggies) were the perfect foil for the crispy fried skate that was expertly cooked. I am really glad we split it. The beer and wine selection was varied in taste and price. We walked downstairs to check out the bar and felt like we were walking onto the Lido deck on a cruise ship. The ambiance was classy and comfortable. We will definitely go back and maybe check out the bar.

We had such a fabulous time here!! We just moved to Atlanta last month and have been back twice already. Our last two visits, Brie was our server - she is fabulous! She’s so friendly, fun, and super knowledgeable about everything! We love the oysters, lobster roll, and wings! You definitely have two new regulars! 🦐

I loved the 70s/80s ship vibe. Going down to the downstairs bar was like a nice old school cruise ship. 3 bartenders at the bar but service was a bit slow and drinks were light. Great DJ. Great vibe. Didn't eat here. Just drinks. Wanted to have dessert but not too appealing from the description.

Beetlecat offers 2 distinct restaurant atmospheres. The main floor has a nautical sailing clubhouse feel with ropes, sails and block and tackle decorating the walls while the downstairs has a 1970's surf shack tiki vibe. We are lunch there (which is only offered on Fridays), but the menu mimicked the seafood restaurants of the New England shoreline. As someone who grew up on the shores of New England, you will not be disappointed! This menu offered authentic New England style seafood dishes in addition to raw bar favorites and tiki style cocktails while anchored in Atlanta. The hot buttered lobster roll was spot on! And the coconut pie is to die for!

If in Atlanta this the oyster place period. They offer a separate oyster menu so you can order the individual oysters from all over North America! The fish and chips , shrimp, and lobster all very good served with a smile!

The lobster roll is amazing and has more lobster meat than any place I’ve ever been to. The conch fritters are also very good. This is an amazing place well worth a stop.

Hubby and I split the BLT salad. It was delicious. One of the best salads I ever had. However, the lobster roll was underwhelming. I have definitely had better and for less than $30. A lot of bread. The cocktails were average and good. My husband had the hominy hash and he thought it was ok. All in all, not bad, but nothing to write home about. Nice quiet atmosphere. Enjoyed the ambiance.

Must go to Beetle Cat and share as much as you can with a group. Great selection of fresh oysters, incredible lobster roll, super cocktails, and the list goes on.

This was my mine and my husbands first time eating here. We had heard about the lobster rolls and we just HAD to try it out. However, we had no idea that they don’t do a lunch menu on Saturdays. Here is the twist...the waitstaff was so accommodating, so phenomenal! We had slipped out of our mouths that we were dying for their lobster rolls and they said they serve them all day! The lobster roll was the best one I have had this side of Boston! So buttery, large pieces of lobster, savory mayo. It was perfect! The staff was wonderful! Second twist...we can’t wait to visit for the actual brunch!!

This is the place for oysters. they have quite the selections. Nice selection of wine by the glass. lobster sandwich was delicious.

Went to this restaurant after the place we really wanted to eat was packed. Walked in at 730pmish with no reservation, and there was ample seating inside. The ambiance of this place is nice with large bay windows and soft lighting. Sat down at a table inside and ordered the kale salad which was good but a little salty. Next we ordered the Mussels, Red Snapper, and later the Scallops (after the Red Snapper did not work out). Plates They are prepared in a minimalistic way to allow you to experience the real flavor of the seafood. This would be great is the seafood was good. So you will be fine if you set your expectations for fish cooked on a plate on top of the sauce that sounded interesting on the menu (that will taste bland when it comes out). The Red Snapper, for example, came out cooked with the skin on...it tasted really fishy like not fresh which I have never experienced with Red Snapper. Next, I ordered Scallops after sending back the red snapper. The Scallops come out in a dish of watery sauce that has a hint of lemon taste and salt to it. I get that the high end chef’s want to make things appear very eclectic almost like art...it did not translate with any of the dishes we tried. My boyfriend has the Mussels..they were good. The kimchi cream sauce was ok ...the toasted bread comes out loaded with butter. You can ask for toast without butter . Pricing The prices were not bad btw 10-20 dollars for a starter and entrees. The plates were meant to be shared which easier to do on some like the mussels or a fish entree but not so much on entrees like scallops that come out with 3 pieces butterflied on the plate. Wait staff The wait staff is really nice and give you fair warning on food preparations (e.g., basic preparations to let flavor come out). Also gave me no issue when I sent the food back. Overall, this was one of the most disappointing seafood meals that I’ve had. We were out celebrating a milestone so it was especially not good that the meal was so not good. Looks like this place while the ambiance and wait staff are nice, really needs to rethink the menu.

I am an unabashedly exuberant Ford Fry fan. I heard great things about Beetle Cat and I was not disappointed. I still have not been for dinner but lunch was ridiculous. The seafood chowder is divine. The lobster roll is even better---- get it with butter and mayo. My friend got one of the lunch boxes and the portions were astounding. Hoe run on the Bloody Mary topped with Shrimp. I can;t wait to go back!

I am a big fan of most restaurants in Inman Park and have had dinner at Beetlecat several times; however, brunch is where the restaurant shines. They have an outdoor patio that welcomes dogs; play great music - both contribute to a fun, casual vibe! They offer several types of homemade donuts as a first course. Lots of brunch egg dishes or a little more substantial lunch dishes follow as second courses. I had the double burger with the most incredible waffle fries and my husband had a fried chicken breast sandwiched between two donuts!!!! Fun food!!!! Only requirement; go hungry!!! Cannot wait to return!!! Lighter selections are definitely menu options!

Went for dinner with folks from work. Sat outside on a sunny day - cute outdoor seating. They serve food family style, so we all tried everything that included shrimp cocktail, 4 or so varieties of daily oysters on special. Drinks were a good size and yummy! Service was friendly. Already recommended it to friends!

Went last night for food/drinks. The waitstaff are awesome, knowledgeable, amiable. The food was terrific and so were the drinks. Oysters were great, and great to add an oyster back. The mocqueca stew is a MUST; it is phenomenal. It's also a plus that the kitchen is open a little later than some of the surrounding bars/restaurants. Highly recommend if visiting ATL.

Had an 8:15 reservation on a recent Saturday night...seated promptly and Todd introduced himself as the one who would be taking care of us. The place was packed to the gills, but they were not on a wait, and had clearly held the two-top for us, which was nice. Bettlecat is not a quiet, romantic place on a Saturday night. The high open ceiling and open kitchen make it quite noisy when there's a crowd - but, it was to be expected. Bar seating faces the open kitchen and dining tables fill the wedge-shaped space. We enjoyed the delicious housemade rum punch to start and ordered from the oyster menu (which features probably a dozen different varieties of raw oysters). The "box sushi" is an interesting combination of incredibly yummy sauce, masago and crispy shallot on top of sushi rice. Very unique! Thoroughly enjoyed. Truffle popcorn and Salt & Pepper Squid were also quite good. We moved on then to the Noodle Bowl and Garlic Noodle bowl. Both were very good, but the Garlic Noodle Bowl was a little on the rich side given the crabmeat. But, would definitely order both again. Coconut pie for dessert was spot on! Beetlecat is as it states: "An Oysterette". Meaning - that it's a perfect place for a couple oysters, some cocktails and a light meal of perhaps a bowl of ramen or a lobster roll. Will definitely return. There is a downstairs 'den' that was hopping at 9:30 or so when we left. Young, hip crowd and loud music.

So today I wanted to be a little adventurous with brunch. I came across Beetlecat Donut Brunch🤔 I tried it and I was NOT disappointed. I had the fried chicken stack...its fried chicken with a fried egg between signature house donuts (their version of chicken n waffles). I had several cocktails and the mixologist were AMAZING! I was told happy hour they have $1 oysters on Monday and Tuesday...... See you Monday😉

There was a prix fixe menu for NYE. We were seated quickly and the server was attentive. There was a table next to us that was a handful and seemed to require a lot of his attention, but he was managing well. First course we had the shrimp cocktail and beef carpaccio -- both of which were good. Second course, we had the good luck soup and ramen for the first course. The good luck soup was amazing; Ramen was ok. Third course, swordfish and steak. Fourth, I can't remember because I got full :). We've dined here before and will definitely be back!

Beetle cat has the strangest brunch I've ever been to. They have a selection of donuts and hash browns. I ordered the All-American hashbrowns which were in a patty with the ham and egg on top. The cheddar was mixed into the potatoes in a big lump. It was really greasy. The service was amazing.

Great small plate menu in a cool setting. Loud, vibrant and a great restaurant to sample and share several dishes with friends or family. Cobra and Fish stew were excellent.

My partner and I have been to the ATL for business and we have been to Beetlecat twice. This is a combined review. Both times service was great. This is a food review. Everything we had was so tasty. Both times we went for the Lobster roll. Me being from Maine I know from a good lobster roll and this is pretty damned good. Soft buttery hamburger bun(different!) is piled high with a very generous amount of big chunks of lobster topped with a modest dollop of mayo. Yum!! Just the right variation of tail and claw meat. We also had the Salt and Pepper Squid. Flash fried and topped with Thai peppers. Several things on the menu seemed to have a Thai inspiration, but just for added flavor and whimsy. My partner("I don't like cream cheese or sauces") LOVED the warm pita with steel head trout cream cheese! Also the burger and conch fritters were very tasty as well. One of our friends also raved about the mussels accompanied by a really good chunk of charred bread. Will be back next time I'm in Atlanta!

This is a great restaurant to visit while in Atlanta so make reservations. The service was good and the MOD stopped by to say hello. Even though I ordered the Lobster roll for $30.00, the bun was a slider bun. I "assumed" it would be more of what I had in Maine. My mistake. Also ask how they collect taxes on "all" people in the party! We were charged tax for all three people. Music is on the loud side. Yes, we did enjoy the meal.

This place is so cute, especially the outside tables. It's a really great atmosphere for a casual low key dinner with friends. The food is ok. The tostones were amazing and come with a really good spicy sauce. The conch fritters were not good, they seemed like they were burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. The lobster roll was delicious, but it was $23, which seemed like a lot for the size.

My husband and I planned on eating brunch here on a Saturday in November. The restaurant was not overly busy and we had made reservations ahead of time. We were seated promptly but it was close to 20 minutes before anyone took our order or offered us a drink. Several wait staff employees passed us multiple times before one finally asked if we had been waited on. He was very apologetic and attentive, but by that time I was about ready to walk out. We stayed and did have the meal and it was okay. Maybe it was not as good as some of the reviews since I already had a sour taste in my mouth for this place. Regardless, I don't think we will visit again--the food was average, and it was a long drive to get there.

A large variety of expensive oysters…. I really recommend the Moqueca Stew, a delicious combination of fish, shrimp, coconut, plantain banana, yucca and jalapeño. Is difficult to get a parking spot in the area but is worth the trip.

I started with the Giuseppe Negroi, Their take is made with Mezcal and white vermouth. The smokiness is absolutely delicious. We then ordered the tuna tartare and the conch fritters which were quite good! The tuna tartare however was not really a tartare cut, but more like a poke. The star appetizer was the salt and pepper squid. It was so lightly dusted and well seasoned I am seriously considering Uber eats to bring the one tonight. For my entrée I had the moqueca stew, made with shrimp, fish, coconut, and cashew. It was really tasty, almost like a curry. The desserts were coconut pie and pineapple upside down cake that we shared. Both were really good! The crust on the pie was a little crunchier than you would normally get with any other coconut pie and it made it all the more interesting and text really fun. The pineapple upside down cake with a peach ice cream, oh my God. The service very good. Our drink order came out so quickly we were all pleasantly surprised. The rest of the meal was very well-timed and we were never rushed or ignored. I highly recommend Beetlecat.

All of my food was amazing but I’d definitely return for the lobster roll. They have a funcocktail menu with a little something for everyone. Patio seating offered some great people watching too!

We stopped in for beers and apps. We were on a mission to sit at the bar. It was located in the basement. The basement was decorated in a retro 70's style with a nautical twist. We were offered the choice between a frosty draft or a can in a koozie. We chose the cans. A great menu of oysters from the east and west coasts. Our bar tender educated us on the different flavors of the oysters. The service was great and we had a great experience at the Beetlecat. Come to find out...a Beetlecat is a small sailboat.

Excellent small plate seafood restaurant with a throwback vibe that reminded me of seafood restaurants I went to in the 60's and 70's. Outstanding selection of oysters, which were very fresh. Lobster roll was great, as was the ceviche, the shrimp dishes, and several other plates. Service was excellent. Very good white wine selection, including by the glass, and a nice choice of beers. I would have given BeetleCat a 5, but everything is a bit overpriced.

I was so excited to try this fun restaurant with my two adult kids before going to the Fox last night. They both had great past experiences. The place has a great vibe and was very crowded. We had a table on the covered patio. It was too dark to see the food. We were also disappointed with the menu which had very limited options. We ordered the calamari to share. The dish was tiny and had 10 pieces of average tasting calamari with a bunch of fried onion things. The waiter (who was very nice) said the main dishes are designed family style and were good to share. The main dishes were served on tiny plates with tiny portions….certainly not big enough to share. We could barely find the fish on the appetizer sized fish sandwich. The fish and chips were tasty but also appetizer sized. All and all we wouldn’t plan to go back anytime soon!

My wife and I had been really looking forward to trying brunch here for quite a while. We finally went and were pretty disappointed. It wasn't terrible by any means and our server was great. We just don't understand why you would make a whole brunch menu centered on donuts if your donuts aren't actually really good? We LOVE trying donut places so perhaps we had too high of expectations, but regardless we have no desire to return.

Beetlecat is an outstanding seafood restaurant. Even if you can’t get a seat yet, you can play games like Kenya outside the restaurant. The food was phenomenal. The lobster roll was amazing. Big shoutout to Kevin our server that day.

This place has two levels, Upper level is the interior of a swanky yacht. Lower level is 1972 style basement bar / hang-out room. Decor is outstanding. Food is excellent. Staff is well trained, pleasant and knowledgeable. Overall wonderful experience.

Good food, yummy drinks, and excellent service. The food was good, but not sure it was worth what we spent. Over all, we had a great server who helped us make good drink and dinner selections.

On the way down to the basement lounge with my wife informing me that the "old school" Bruce Lee film playing on the screen on the stairs is the only type of Bruce Lee film there is, we landed in a 1970s den of chill to have an awesome drink. We then emerged back to the upstairs to indulge on oysters, lobster roll, cobia and the whole branzino. This place is pure awesomeness, and we'll be back!

Billed as Atlanta's Oysterette Bar, it doesn't disappoint! We made a reservation for dinner with friends (reservation definitely recommended). We tried to reserve through Open Table, but the times available weren't very good so we called the restaurant directly and got the time we wanted. We sat outside, although the downstairs is a really cool 70's vibe atmosphere which looked very fun. It's a bit on the pricy side, but not outlandish by Atlanta standards and it was excellent so the $$ was worth it. The drinks are inventive and tasty! I had the Salty Dog...loved it! The staff was great. Our waiter (Ethan I think) could not have been more fun and accommodating. I had oysters to start and they were fresh and delicious. Friends ordered the boch choy app and it was very tasty. I had the fish and chips...at first glance I was a bit disappointed because it didn't look like that large of a serving. But underneath those fries was a boatload of fish! I wouldn't call it a traditional fish and chips but it was delicious. I would definitely go back...and might even go on this trip!

I decided to try Beetle Cat because they were participating in Atlanta Burger Week and were offering a special. But when I got to the restaurant, I was informed that they really weren't participating (they were only doing a special on Friday during lunch). So I decided to try Beetle Cat anyway since I was already there. I drank the Fish House punch which was very good. It's a nice, refreshing cocktail. I also ordered the mussels. They were okay. But overall, I found the menu very limited. There are a number of other seafood places in Atlanta that I would choose over Beetle Cat. I would only consider Beetle Cat as a place with a nice patio to have a few drinks.

Ate here with my wife on her business trip to Atlanta; recommended by an Uber driver. Interesting neighborhood, attractive restaurant. I was particularly drawn by the $1 oyster special, although since freshness is absolutely key, I'm always slightly skeptical of oyster places away from the water. The oysters were superb, super clean and fresh. We also had the moqueca, a fish stew, which was good but a bit salty, and the lobster roll, which was good, if pricey. Nice spot. Would recommend or consider coming back if in Hotlanta.

Incredible dinner for our 20th anniversary! Drinks in the downstairs bar that looks like my grandmother's basement in the 70's. Shared plates were delicious, but oysters were even better! Good wine list that won't break the bank.

We had dinner here with a group. The food was uneven. Some dishes very good, some just okay. Mostly just okay. The kitchen gets failing grades. Our food came out in dribs and drabs. Two identical orders of fish - one cooked properly, one overcooked. Some people were finished eating before others got their food. Service in general was uneven and not really attentive. There were large mistakes on the bill. There seems to be valet, but we never found it. Paid garage just behind the building. The downstairs bar area on a Saturday night was packed. Wine list and cocktail list minimal and expensive. Very loud and difficult to speak even to those directly across the table.

I don't understand how this restaurant is rated as mid-priced. Expect to pay $50 per person without drinks. That being said, the food is quite good. The lobster roll is excellent; today's price is $30. I'm only commenting because the price rating on TripAdvisor is so out of sync with the actual prices.

The food was amazing!! We started with the oysters happy hour and they were fresh and tasty. For mains we shared the corn, the kale salad, the octopus, the lobster roll and the cobia collar. Evertyhing was very tasty but highlight had to be the kale salad, the octopus and lobster roll. For desert the Peach upside down cake was really delicious. Full of flavour (including star anise). Highly recommend. They even provide you sunglasses if you sit on the terrace and have the sun in your eyes. Service was great, price reasonable, would definitely go back.

This is place interesting, in a good way. They have a lobster roll that is really good, I also tried the burger and booze milk shake, that was good as well. The burger and milk shake come together it's not for kids. I would go back. If you visit lobster is a must try, if you not into seafood you might want to skip this place not a whole lot of options or than the burger and milkshake.

We were a party of seven this past weekend. The waiter was very attentive and helpful. But the food /beverage available was disappointing. For example , the calamari was far too greasy, the bar staff seemed unaware of the gin martini. On the other hand, the mahi was cooked properly and it was quite good. All in all, just ok.....but the waiter (a tall AA gentleman) was quite good.

Our server was amazing. The food was all wonderful. I was apprehensive when I looked at the menu...We were a group of six and shared several menu items. Everything including drinks and bottles of wine were superb.

Amazing fresh seafood. The lobster roll is perfect. The portions are large. You definitely won't leave here hungry. Service was great even with a big group. I will go back here again.

My wife and I had just left a party in the area, so walked down to the corner to find a bite to eat. Beetle Cat looked lively, brand new on the corner, and seafood, so we decided to try it out. We ordered a drink, and a couple of sides/apps, and chose to share a bowl of the seafood stew (forgot what they called it). The apps/sides were less than desirable, we finished neither. The seafood stew was all peppers, onions, tomato, garlic etc.... we hardly found any fish at all. Look elsewhere until their kitchen catches up with the nice decor.

We enjoyed a very delicious brunch here August 12, 2018. The French Toast was perhaps not authentically French, but the Beetlecat twist made it absolutely amazing. The ham/cheese hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. We received excellent table service from Ashley, who provided helpful suggestions based on our dietary interests. We thought the place would be slammed, on account of recent popularity, but we were seated immediately, and not crowded with other people too close to us. We would absolutely return! We couldn't even eat the donuts we wanted to try, because we were so full. So, we took them with us. The lemon-poppyseed and white chocolate rainbow were quick favorites.

I went to BeetleCat yesterday. As my friend got seating, I went to the restroom. I was in there for about 15 minutes so he came to check on me as any good guy would. Another employee then came to check on me and by this point it was intrusive to constantly knock on the door as a grown woman is taking care of feminine issues. I have no problem giving more details if you do like to be more intrusive. When we finally came to our seating, we were forbidden to have drinks, menus, and instead forced to accept ginger ale. For an event in which we took a casual evening stroll and then stopped in at what we thought was a great establishment, I am appalled at the treatment we received. We even tried sitting at the bar and having apps and a drink there and we were refused service. Whether or not you're a private establishment, common morals and respect demand that people be treated with dignity. I do hope to have some sort of response to this.

Went to BeetleCat based off recommendation from Atlanta Eats. Went to the Donut Brunch on Sunday. We had the Lobster Roll (it was like heaven in your mouth), the Jimmy Buffet donut (infused with lime and tequila), donut on the griddle cheeseburger, and a pitcher of the Champagne Punch. Best brunch experience I had in a minute. If you are ever in Atlanta please stop by.

Dinner with wife and adult son. We didn't have reservations but got a table on the patio, which was great people watching out on Highland. We shared two entrees and 4 small plates. Our server suggested doing that (sharing) to give us all the taste experience of a number of dishes. She was right! We enjoyed every plate. Everything we chose had great flavors and the majority had a little kick to them, which we all favor. Finally, the service was amazing. Our own server was perfect (knew the menu, very helpful with choices, attentive, efficient) and they were organized so that other servers helped deliver our dishes as they were prepared.

My wife and I had dinner there for the 1st time Sunday night. The oysters were very small but cold and tasty, the kale salad was huge and delicious, best egg rolls ever, and the salmon was very good...we will definitely go back when in the area..

We came for my daughter 21st Birthday, my Mother, Big Brother wife and daughter, we was more than satisfied and pleased with service, vibe, music and professionalism. Top notch and special shout out to Toniya the person along with everyone else working and there for a wonderful time like we did. Truly one love for that!!!

Best oysters in town, very fresh and great variety. Fish dishes are very fresh and good. Professional and fast service, great champagne.

Great selection of raw oysters from all over the US coast. Order just one or one of each. The lobster roll was awesome. Huge chunks of tail and claw meat. A perfectly buttered roll and just the right amount of mayo. Delicious!! Much Thanks to the manager for his help.

In a very high energy spot, the patio offers a nice environment to enjoy the limited offerings. The lobster "roll" was more like a toasted hamburger bun piled with lobster, with the flavor very nice, with large chunks of meat. It was, though, not inexpensive at $26! Moqueta stew was flavorful and only mildly spicy. Service was very good, friendly and efficient. Very good food but at an elevated price...

First let me start by saying this restaurant is super cute! Inside is clean and simple yet chic. For a couple of hours, you get the feel of eating at a waterside restaurant- very fun and different for being in the middle of Atlanta! The menu was mainly seafood and while kind of limited, you could tell each dish was thoughtfully crafted just by looking at the ingredients and not your average seafood dishes, like the squid that were lightly fried and not deep fried in heavy breading- very refreshing! I enjoyed the lobster roll and, after doing so, 110% understand why this restaurant won the award for best lobster roll. My only wish is that they had more entree items on their menu. I’d love to see what they could do with things like scallops or crab...I bet it’d be amazing!

Great food and drink. Favorite Ford Fry spot so far. Portions are small but succulent. Enjoy the oysters and Brass Pineapple cocktail!

Looking for something new when we found this place. Ate outside on the porch on a large table, plenty of space. Food was very good, modest portions but since we ordered nearly everything on the menu and ate family style, plenty for the 6 of us. Some of the options were very good, some a little less so, but as a whole, worth the visit.

PIta starter is a must. Home made everything pita comes with a rich flavorful spread. Sweet potatoe hush puppies are irrestible...May not be possible to just eat one. Best bowl was shrimp curry. Lots of shrimp, flavor, more sweet than curry based, plenty of rice. Servic was attentive when available, there were long intervals between courses.

Wonderful atmosphere! Everyone was so friendly. We had the French toast stack donuts and the hominy hash. Both were delicious! We also ordered The King donut and oh my...one of the best donuts we have ever had. We will definitely be visiting again! Just a wonderful experience!
AMAZING food!!
Beetlecat is located in the new area of Old Fourth Ward, so it is pretty cool. The service was amazing, very attentive waits staff. The food was phenomenal. We had the salmon poke that tasted like the thing that dreams are made of! The calamari is lightly battered and super crispy and the collar was the best I have ever had. The noise level was MASSIVE -- maybe it was just the night, but too loud for me. I think I will try for lunch next time and see if the noise level is lower. I still recommend Beetlecat.
