Worst Lasagna ever!

By Lesly C |

Went for a good meal, once there there was this weird smell and you could see that this restaurant was years past a good cleaning and new paint. Beside from that, i ordered a Lasagna and my wife the Angel hair, my lasagna came in a weird flat form and was over cooked as the pasta of my wife. Now i am an original Italian and know what pasta should taste like so after one bite i could not get to have another... the only good thing is the bread and once i made it clear that this was far from a real lasagna the owner wanted us to pay for it anyway. I confronted him with the dilemma and he said : i was just there i know the food... on what i replied, then next time bring a real Italian chef with you. He said that Italian chefs don't make it in Amerika. Absolutely BS, its already so painful to see all this fake Italian restaurants with nothing original from the old country, the whole menu is an Americanised version of food that don't even exist in Italy. I feel bad for the American people that are lied to with a made up menu and bad food quality. I don't recommend this restaurant to any one with Taste for good food.

The food is ok. It's classic 1960s era Amrican Italian food with little relation to modern Italian food.

This Italian restaurant is in a strip mall that is a little shabby. It seems to be the locals' favorite, probably because it's very inexpensive and filling. It serves the kind of classic American Italian food you found everywhere in American in the 60s-80s. I've studied modern Italian food in Italy on several occasions and this is fair to middling. I expected a lot more on account of it's ratings. I think the food was as dated and uninspiring as the decor.

Italian with my Goddaughter and her Mom

By DebG477 |

What a wonderful surprise a lovely dinner and a jazz flute! We walked in to music thinking it was background music from a stereo system. To our surprise it was a live musician playing a jazz flute and singing standards and contemporary songs. We started our dinner with an ample serving of warm bread and oil. My angel hair pasta had a fresh tomato taste and I halved the serving to take the rest home. The others had the lobster ravioli, also a generous serving, which was reported to be very tasty. Drinks and coffee and we had to say "no" to dessert.

Cozy, family-owned Italian, great atmosphere

By kylaandryan |

Walked here from our stay at the Warwick Melrose hotel. Nothing much from the outside, in a small strip mall, but great, friendly atmosphere inside. This place has an authentic/family feel while still being a nice place for dinner out with a bottle of wine. Our concierge recommended it to us and told us to look for the owner and gave us a card. We showed it to him and he brought us over glasses of champagne for the table. Really nice touch. The bread was really good and made fresh each day. Lobster Ravioli was awesome, good marinara sauce...Eggplant Parmesan was good but not my favorite. Definitely try the tiramisu for dessert.

Understaffed

Manager is doing TOO many things. Bar service is non-existent. Service was poor for a "single" diner. Great bread! Probably a "4" for group or couple dining.

Fresh baked bread at every table

By Banjo1957 |

Delicious meal with generous helpings. Staff was glad to split the salad and manicotti dish before delivery to the table. Friendly wait staff but the service was a little slow. Nice wine selections available.

SOLID. DEPENDABLE.

If you're in the mood for Italian with no fuss, this is the place. consistent food every time. Yes, the décor is dated and cheesy, but that's part of it's charm as is its host.

Delicious Italian Restaurant

By Yadira D |

Great place, authentic and delicious Italian food. A little crowded, too many people for a small place. The music was very loud, we can't hear our conversations.

Exceptional!

By rebabee |

Don't miss Bellini's! This is a small well-run Italian ristorante. From the moment we were seated at a table with linens by a friendly greeter we had nothing but top service. They are generous with hot bread passed to you and lots of spiced olive oil at the table. We had a dish prepared with a few things personalized ...added a bit of Alfredo sauce to the garlic oil and some veggies to the pasta. We also split the one dish between us. There was no split charge nor were we made to feel like our requests were a problem. On top of all the great service, the food was perfection. Btw, you can wear very casual clothes if you want! The prices are reasonable! Bellini's is a true find! Buon appetito!

I love Bellini's

By gypsytrade |

We had an early Valentines dinner last Friday night. It was very romantic.I had been there for lunch last year but it was even better at night. It is kinda old school service but I noticed almost as many young people as older diners. There are arches and Italian style.decor. Pretty.and charming. They gave us a big chunk of warm yeasty bread to dip in an olive oil vinegar while we waited for our entree. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs and I had yummy eggplant parm. The food was fresh and well presented. We took the leftovers home and had a full meal the next day. The staff made sure our water glasses were filled and also the prices were really good.

Impressed!!!

The best Italian food I have ever had! We enjoyed our experience so much, we had to make it a second night!!

Outstanding ! Outstanding ! Outstanding ! Place to Dine !

By joe_derrick |

At the recommendation of a friend, and knowing that we would be pressed for time before a jazz concert, our party went to Bellini's for the first time. OMG, what a wonderful "little gem". This restaurant has been in the small stripcenter for many years and we had never known about it. The Italian food is some of the best I have ever had. The service was 'over the top'. There is a wide variety in the menu items and the wine list had everything we could have asked for. KUDO's KUDO's KUDO's to everyone. Thank you for helping make our evening-out in Dallas, a most memorable one.

Unpretentious Exterior

By Don C |

The unlike the outside, the inside is a little over the top. But the service and the food are very good. The prices are reasonable. Surprisingly, certain evenings even have entertainment. For us, going there is always a good choice for a relaxing meal.

Don't let the exterior fool you....

By musicalroad |

An 80's inspired trip back to classic Italian restaurant Kitsch with AMAZING food, great service and good prices. A locally known hidden gem! Have had in past visits, scallops, fettucini, chicken picatta, calzone, pizza...all an unqualified YUM. Don't let the outside of the building deter you, amazing dining inside!

Eccellente!

By journeyandxplore |

What a wonderful surprise find in the Design District Dallas! Just down Market Center Blvd from the Anatole we discovered this unique Italian Restaurant. We've now been 3 times to Bellini's and have experienced the same high level of service and food made from the heart. This is the real deal and not corporate restaurant. Flavor, simplicity in plate up and huge portions! The bread is to die for and every step of service was genuine in the quirky restaurant. The fried Mozza is a must and pizza made from scratch. Your eye will not get tired as there's so much to look at both on the walls and your plate (even the ceiling). The drinks were poured right, every time! Flowers everywhere and you can feel the owners level of pride in the details. Its on Market Center, don't blink as its a hidden gem you'll want to try. Thank you for doing it right every time and not being just another restaurant. Exccellente on all levels! Bravo!

Old School Focus on Excellent Food and Service

By US_expat17 |

The staff at Texas Ale Project (across the side street) recommended Bellini's Cafe, and my only regret is that we did not discover Bellini's food sooner. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the spinach salad, the mozzarella-tomato salad, the shrimp scampi (excellent shrimp, al dente angel hair, and fresh, colorful hand-cut vegetables), and the margarita pizza with sliced meatball. The service from what felt like family was excellent and the live, Sinatra-style music was relaxing.

One of our “go-to” restaurants

By Don C |

We always enjoy our meals here—good food and service, and reasonably priced. The outside is very plain and the inside is a little over the top! But unlike most restaurants, the staff is always the same, which we believe, indicates that the restaurant is well managed by the ever present owner.

Very Bad Service

By Brendab72 |

I recently ate lunch at Bellini's to celebrate my birthday and it was not a pleasurable experience. I have eaten there once in the past and it was great so I was looking forward to this lunch. I do have one positive to point out and that is the amazing bread and dipping oil, but otherwise it was a big disappointment. It took forever to get our food and we asked several times was our food almost ready and we kept getting assured that it was coming right out. When the rude waitress finally brought our food she said the reason it was late was that someone had taken the calzone that was ordered from our table and they had to make another one. My friend said that if she had been told this she could have just ordered something else to save time, but we were not informed of the reason for the delay. Then my other friend told the waitress that her plate was not chicken parm and the waitress argued with her about what she ordered and said well I put chicken marsala in the computer and we all told her but that's not what she ordered. My friend told the waitress to just cancel her order since we didn't have time to wait another hour for it be corrected so the rest of us offered to share our food with her. A few minutes later out came the chicken parm anyway. The waitress seemed to be good at ignoring anything that was told to her. My order actually didn't have any problems but the pasta was crunchy which I've never had before. It was very difficult to eat, but I didn't complain after all the other problems we had. In the end they basically only charged us for one lunch out of the three, but no one really said anything to us or apologized so it doesn't make us want to rush back in to see if they can do better next time.

So great!

This authentic feeling restaurant was small, cozy, quaint and perfect! Our meal was delicious, the live singing was so fun! Will be back!

A rare find

By Bellie |

Love this independently owned restaurant with live music, great bread, superb service, yummy food and reasonably priced. This little strip center restaurant is deceiving until you walk into a flash back experience from a Chicago family Italian restaurant. Funky, comfy, and a real treat. The chicken with capers and lemon was very good.. (but a tiny bit too charred for me.) The eggplant Parmesan on a bed of pasta was pretty tasty but a lot of food. Do not expect an over the top food experience... go for the ambiance and traditional Italian food with enough for leftovers! We will be back! Enjoy!

Is this place a swingers club in disguise?

By acmtexas |

We went to dinner with friends early one evening. The decor was pretty cheesy but kind of campy. Our server was wearing black patent leather tight pants. She was also the bartender and kept suggesting drinks other than what we ordered. The previous bartender died last week from a heart attack. Our food was pretty mediocre. When we walked to the restroom, we noticed that the crowd around the bar was dressed very gaudy. The entire evening was surreal and made us wonder if this is a late night swingers club.

Charming and delicious

By Kori K |

We tried Bellini's based on reviews from Urban Spoon and its proximity to the American Airlines Center. Do not let the exterior fool you- it's located in a strip mall next to a liquor store and a salon. We almost didn't go in, but were so glad we decided to go ahead and try it! All of the staff were very friendly and our waiter was just wonderful. (I wish I remembered his name!) He was very knowledgeable about their wine list and helpful when we were deciding what to order. There were three in our party. We shared the Tomato & Mozzarella Salad and the Antipasto Salad- both were fresh and the perfect amount. Then, we split the White Pizza. The pizza as a whole was delicious, but the ricotta was the best I have ever tasted. The crust was thin and perfectly crispy. We rounded out the meal with Tiramisu- not too heavy or sweet. We really enjoyed our meal!

Opera Night and a Little Tast of Italy

By kbroski42 |

Ate here for dinner with a client and was pleasantly surprised when they had an opera singer prepared for us. Beautiful ambiance inside and owners were all over the service! Bread and oil was great, pasta was better, and the wine pairings were exquisite! The meal was priced just right and this is a new favorite. Be back next week!

Excellent food and service.

A very nice and cozy place to relax and to enjoy real Italian food. Their chicken & pizza - very good. Enjoyed it, the staff were great.

Wonderful Italian food

Real Italian food. Great atmosphere l, great food, wonderful staff and they usually have live music for the more Italian feel. We always take our guest here when they want the Italian craving. Very reasonable prices!!

A Hidden Gem

By Roger H |

What a beautiful, atmospheric restaurant with excellent food! Candlelight and wall sconces illuminate the white tablecloths, decorative paintings and wrought-iron decor. The waitstaff is friendly, prompt and make you feel absoutely welcome. The Italian cuisine is quite delicious, and the hot bread served as a free appetizer is absolutely the best! If you've not discovered this little taste of Italy in Oak Lawn, get your GPS in gear and try it out!

Nope

By TetonCLT |

On my sister's suggestion, we met at Bellini's for dinner to celebrate our dad's birthday. They had visited several times, but this was my first time to dine at this cafe. The dining room is rather crowded, and it seems to be popular with the locals. Considering this is in Dallas, everything is relative I suppose.... (I find many of the popular places are a lot of loyalty hype.) Most of the central table are is very close, so close that others' conversations were shared with the neighboring diners. I ordered Shrimp Provencal. The sauce alone was quite tasty, though a bit heavy on salt. The pasta was not covering the plate, which I found a nice change from many Italian restaurants. The shrimp, however were quite overcooked. It seemed they may have been previously cooked and then added, so more cooking ensued. The sauce was lacking the wonderful sweet essence that raw shrimp will exude when added to the tomato and herb mix. What I found alarmingly unpleasant was the presence of shrimp shells in the sauce, not just the bit on the tail section, but small bits all in the sauce. Very disconcerting. The slight offering of veggies were carrots, broccoli and zucchini. The carrots were fine, but the broccoli had a taste of ashes, like they had fallen into something that had been burned, yet I saw no indication they they were toasted or grilled. Very strange. I stopped there and left the zucchini. House salad was good; white wine was not ice cold, good temperature. Overall, if it were just the sauce alone, I'd say it was good, but all the strangeness of other preparation mishaps makes this a place I will not visit again. If my family suggests it again, I will try to find another choice.

Great food, value and service

By FRANKFONTI |

Being a New Yorker this some really good Italian food in Dallas. Prices are reasonable and food is very good. Location is not great but it is worth going there.

Like stepping in to an Italian restaurant.

By Lydia B |

It was quite good and not too expensive. My friend and I shared a salad and a pizza. Bread and oil is really tasty!

I've had better

By Linda |

I didn't think the process matched the quality of food but the service was nice The ambiance is nice at night you would probably be a good place for young people to have a romantic dinner before the older crowd we've had our taste of good Italian food before and so therefore we could find 20 other places at that price it was much more delicious. Small portions large prices can get loud on the weekend

Love this place!

By Ellen D |

Every time we go to Dallas, we eat there. It's "cheesy", the owner looks a little like Elvis, and the decor is old Italian. However, the food, wine and service are great, and we love it all! if you want good Italian food and atmosphere that isn't "cookie cutter", try this place.

Great place

Its been a long time since last visit due to Covid. Lorenzo still operates a great eatery! Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Elegant and delicious find!

By magicas |

I happened on Bellini's while looking at Google maps of restaurants within 5 miles of our hotel, so it was really a lucky find! The food was delicious and well-prepared with very fresh ingredients. I had the shrimp provencal and my husband, the veal piccata, and we were very pleased with each. The wait staff was very attentive. There was a singer performing while we were there who had a beautiful well -trained voice. All of this made for a perfect relaxing evening after a busy day. I will definitely go back on my next trip to Dallas. I have only one suggestion for the management. The crabcake appetizer on the menu is very good, but please don't call one crabcake "crabcakes" on the menu. It's misleading!

OMG!

By Tom W. |

Bellini's was recommended to us by a friend and I thank them for that. We went on a Friday night, arrived early, around 6:30, and had a drink at the bar. We met the owner, that night's muscian (a very talented gent) and the lady who performs on Wed. & Thur. nights - Michelle Donahue. Our server at both the bar and at our table was a wonderful lady from Romania whose name starts with an A (I'm angry with myself that I can't remember because she was the best!) Everone was so nice and helpful. The comp bread and dipping sauce are very good, but we liked their garlic bread even more. For entrees we had the lamb chops and Veal Bellini - both excellently prepared. The wine list is small but adequate. The prices are very reasonable for such pleasing food, service and ambience. We will definitely be planning future visits to Bellini's!

Old School RULES!

By WarmBeachLover13 |

My wife and I have a daughter who lives in Dallas. We typically go out to eat every time we visit. On Nov. 29, 2014 we were delighted to discover this gem of a restaurant tucked away in a strip mall, near the Turtle Creek area. I'd previously noticed a lot of cars in the parking lot at night, as we passed by on our way to other restaurants, so we thought we'd give it a try. Given its low profile, I figured this place would either be a disaster or a secret treasure. Fortunately, it was the latter. The decor is OLD SCHOOL Italian, heavy drapery, wall paper, artificial birds, so if you're looking for something hip or modern, this isn't your place. On the other hand, if you're looking for a perfect Italian meal, from the fresh baked bread & salad to traditional Italian entrees that perfectly cooked and service that is Top Notch, this is the place for you. It's warmly lit, but not too dark. I had the Shrimp Scampi, my wife had the Fettachini Alfredo & my daughter had the Lasagne. We all agreed it was the best Italian meal we've ever had and we have eaten a LOT of Italian, from New York to San Francisco. Anyway, if you're in Dallas and want a great Italian meal and superb service at a very reasonable price check out Bellini's.

Greatly Enjoyed!

By nursemanager9 |

Our family of eight greatly enjoyed our meal, waitress and ambiance at this new Italian restaurant. Our meals varied from Chicken Parmesan, Stromboli Pie, Pizza, Spaghetti and meatballs, Carciofo (chicken breast with artichokes in a garlic and white wine sauce. Our waitress made us feel like we actually were in Italy. Recommend reservations for does not seat many and quite busy.

Always consistent with good food and great service!

By MrsYummy |

I have been going to Bellini's for what seems like 10 years! The restaurant interior is very warm and inviting and does not shadow the exterior! So don't let that fool you or keep you from trying Bellini's. Had not been here in a while (moved to Ft. Worth) and it was like old times. The sea bass was probably one of the best pieces of fish I have had. It had a very light sauce with a side of risotto. Real risotto - not some rice trying to pass itself off as their pretty sister! They do have classic Italian dishes of pasta, steak, pizza, etc. I've always loved their salads with either chicken or salmon. The owner, Lorenzo, will make sure you are pleased or he will make it right!! Very good value. They do have a full bar and very reasonably priced bottles of wine.

Excellence with ambience

Extensive menu and service. I'd had the Chicken Bellini last night at it was fabulous. Our waitress was charming and sassy. Don't let the exterior (it's in am old shopping center) fool you.

Awesome Place

I used to dine at the spot around Oaklawn . The new place is so old school Italian fun. The food is always great. The music later in the week adds to a great evening.

Excellent Meal in a Beautiful Atmosphere

By Nancy L |

Bellini’s is open in a lovely new larger space! They continue to serve the individual crispy bread loaves as at the Congress Street location. When the bartender is free she may sing a few delightful songs accompanied by her guitar. Bellini’s reopened at 921 N Riverfront Blvd Suite 300 on June 26th. We had a delicious Margarita Pizza for lunch. The waitstaff is very attentive and Mr. Di Lorenzo remains as charming as ever. The menu has a terrific variety, we cannot wait to return to sample more. There is plenty of parking behind the building with easy entry to the restaurant.

Great Italian food

By Navigator59764447854 |

First trip since they reopened. Same excellent staff and funky Italian vibe. Best Italian food in Dallas.

Been here for many a celebration and to enjoy the featured talent.

By dkelleyh |

Who doesn't like to eat great Italian food, have excellent service, AND be serenaded by professional singers??? If this sounds like your kind of evening, then head out and make reservations on the weekends. The place is a bit old-worldly in the decor, which brings it its charm. Table cloths and napkins at place settings make for a formal, but not stuffy feel. Pasta or Pizza or somewhere in between, you can't go wrong with anything off the menu.

Excellent Italian in a environment

By Karen K |

This place was a bit crowded on a Friday night but very understandable why. They had a wide variety of Italian staples but some not so standard selections for the adventurous. The portion sizes were great for the price and the prices were more than reasonable. The atmosphere is deceiving as it looks a bit run-down on the outside and don't look too closely at the paint or drapes but the food was out of this world excellent!

In the midst of Dallas

By DallasCouple1 |

Needless to say there are fabulous restaurants in Dallas. However, if you don't want to spend the money that some of these restaurants command, I suggest Bellini's for great Italina food. The preparation and presentation was terrific, the prices reasonable, the service, and setting were very good. It's a place in Dallas where you can actually get a great pasta dish for less than $10 (lasagne and eggplan were $9.50) Three of the four of us had the chicken bellini-terrific!! The rolls were homemade and the dipping sauce was a little different with fresh chopped garlic. My husband enjoyed the chianti so much that we took a pic of the label to buy later. I would highly recommend this place We were in and out (not rushed) but in time to make a concert at the AA Center. And they take reservations.

Disappointing, surprised at the high rating

By MVSouthOC |

The food is acceptable, nothing more. Pleasant atmosphere. Our service was odd at every level. I asked for bruschetta and was told bread was coming. I guess the bread trumped the bruschetta as the bruschetta never arrived with no explanation. I would not return.

Great food and great family environment!

By CrunchyDaddy |

Came here to eat based on reviews from others. All of the reviews about this place is spot on. Great food and atmosphere. The marinara sauce itself deserves a shout out. It's super flavorful and created with the right spices that others unfortunately miss. I do not live in the Dallas area, but will pay this place a visit when we are. The hot rolls were fresh and drinks were good too. Portions are huge and we asked to split a plate. I thought we were going to just get an extra plate to split ourselves, but they were kind enough to do it in the kitchen and out came out two plates for us. Little things like this also makes the experience unique in it's own way as well. Give this place a try, you wont regret it!

High quality lasagna and pasta with eggplant and chicken surpassed our expectations.

By scott46 |

We had never dined at this long-time, traditional Italian food restaurant in Dallas and were very pleasantly surprised with our experience.

Great local place

By John N |

We went here later on a slow night, and had a blast. Owner Lorenzo was a fantastic host. A little piece of NY in TX. Good menu, tasty food and very reasonable prices. I'd recommend this over the places recommended by the hotels.

WOW!! PERFECT ITALIAN EXPERIENCE!

By Shannon A |

My wife and I were in town visiting and found this HIDDEN GEM. We went in late Saturday night with another couple. They also It is just off the beaten path out of the downtown limelight. BEST ITALIAN food I have ever had. Great Italian music. Made from scratch bread, many of the plates and desserts were all scratch. Want an Italian atmosphere? Here you go!!! Want OUTSTANDING FOOD?? Here you go. The owner came around and said hi. This was a Great experience. It is too bad I do not live in the area or I would be there all the time!

As an Argentine that I am I am a pasta lover and this place was simply amazing, the food, the bread and the wine , we will be back soon ...

The food on their website looked great. I had the personal vegetable pizza and I DID NOT like their pizza sauce! I couldnt even eat it. I ordered the lobster salad, and it more than made up for the bad pizza sauce. It is absolutely delish! Topped it all off with the cheesecake, which was also superb!

Best Italian in Dallas

By Boterodan |

Always greeted at the door by the owner Lorenzo DiLorenzo and the service is consistent. Have never had a bad meal and I've explored the menu. My favorite is the chicken Bellini. The hot bread is delicious and tempting to eat more than one. Prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this place

A good local Italian

By mayatree |

We went on valentine's night as that is when we were in Dallas as a family. We had to go at 6pm as they were fully booked after that. We had a great meal and the restaurant was decorated with balloons, candles etc for the evening. There was a special menu for the evening but it had something for everyone. The warm bread, as other reviewers have noted is fantastic! The waiters were great, the food very tasty and we all came away happy. A very popular spot but worth a visit.

Oak Lawn Does Italian

By Jon from Dallas |

For over ten years Lorenzo di Lorenzo has suavely escorted his guests to their table, wishing them a sexy "Bon appétit!" It's the perfect way to set the eclectic tone of the evening. Lorenzo is owner and host...and dare I mention, a part time Elvis impersonator. He is Swiss from Zurich, and he speaks more than a few languages as does his exotic and loyal wait staff. Are you with me thus far? Now add the location on the iffy side of Oak Lawn in a strip center. The decor is heavy Italian kitsch with fake birds in the rafters and cheesy Italian paintings everywhere. The bar back is 1960s Long Island Italian-American with a good stock. Fresh flowers are in abundance...Lorenzo is a romantic, so heavy on the roses. OK...now you know what you are in for. Next comes the reason you came here in the first place. The food is darn good and the price is right. Every item on the menu is nicely done and served with care. The home-baked Italian bread is to die for. The champagne vinaigrette dressing on the salad is excellent. Lorenzo never disappoints, so brush up on your French, Italian and German and check this place out!

A Hidden Gem!

By Bobbie021 |

We loved Bellini's! We told some associates about it and they loved it as well. We were greeted by Lorenzo, wearing a white shirt, white pants and a black jacket with Elvis hair! The waitress delivered the most amazing bread with olive oil ever! Our salads were fresh with a wonderful champagne dressing! You think you have been sent to Italy by way of a strip mall!

Bait and switch

Food was good, better than average. Wait service sub par. Watch out for misleading menues. We ordered a $29 Pinot Gris and was charged $36. Yes, the newer menue reflected this higher price. However, we given a menue with obviously out dated pricing. We asked about the discrepancy, but nothing was done to remedy the situation. Paid the $36 and never going back.

Amazing! Amazing! Did I say Amazing!?!

By davidcT3843RN |

The food was amazing! So was the atmosphere and the wait staff! I'm not sure what the owners name is but he was classic. He had on a white shirt with a black sports coat and black slacks. He was dressed to the T. Very impressed and the guy playing live music was great!

Unfussy, well-prepared, plentiful Italian fare.

By otolith |

This restaurant, tucked away from the main Dallas hubs, is typical of so many Italian restaurants I've been to in Europe - a hodge podge of faux murals of Venetian scenes, Roman pillars and cherubim. I took it as part of this restaurant's eclectic charm. Staff were very friendly, including their (slim) Elvis-like proprietor. The menu is a selection of pizzas, pastas and meat/fish entrees. We ordered deep-fried mozzarella sticks, a pepperoni pizza, onion soup and spaghetti and meatballs. Yes, not progressive but tasty! The meatballs were huge and filling and the pizza very well done. I happily give this place 4 stars, as whilst it can't compete with the swankier joints around Dallas, it does what it does well - honest Italian-styled food in a charmingly kitsch setting.

Authentic Italian

By gram07_10 |

We had noticed this restaurant in the Oak Lawn area on a side street. We decided to give it a try. The food was like Italian food we had in Boston area. The presentation is beautiful. The food we all had was cooked to perfection. The only complaint is the bread was not hot and I expected it would be since they said it had just come out of the oven. The olive oil and garlic used for the bread was excellent and made up for the bread not being warm. The owner seats everyone who enters the restaurant. He also checks with the patrons while you are there to see if you are having a good experience. Definitely a hidden gem.

Authentic Italian Restaurant

By LDunnaway |

A little piece of Italy in Texas. Owner Lorenzo is a fantastic host personally escorting every guest to their table where you are promptly served complimentary homemade hot and crusty Italian bread with a high quality olive oil mix setting the stage for a perfect evening!! The food is amazing! So is the atmosphere complete with live background music 4 nights a week entertaining you with Italian Opera/Jazz/and other genres catering to your individual liking. All the while you will appreciate an attentive gracious wait staff! Every part of your encounter at Bellini’s is indicative of its eclectic old world charm. Lorenzo’s experience and dedication towards ensuring that your dining experience at Bellini’s will be a night to remember will leave you wanting to return at your earliest convenience.

Good food, not kid friendly!

By Mo2rcycleGrandma |

Summary: 4 stars for food/music; 3 stars for service and 1 star for attitude! I have visited this restaurant several times over the years, most recently to celebrate my birthday on a Friday night. We called ahead & requested reservation for 9 adults & 4 babies. Yes, I have 4 grand babies under 2! We arrived early, 6:30 and they had seated us in the main entry aisle at a long table. The service & food was good considering a busy Friday. We had calamari, bread and other appetizers. The waitress gave us all salads, saying it would take a while for our food. We were enjoying ourselves despite the fact that they only have 2 baby seats in the entire restaurant! Then, the host has the nerve to warn me to be careful with the babies. I was moving one baby into my lap. He is the one that sat us on the main entry aisle when he had other tables open!! BTW, all babies were well behaved & did not cry. The eldest baby sat in my lap for dinner and enjoyed meatballs, while I had lasagna. Again food was good, the quirky atmosphere that is full of beautiful cut roses & fake birds perched above is interesting & the live music was fabulous. It was Texas-OU weekend & the place was packed to capacity by 7:30 or 8:00. An OU group from the table beside us approached us asking for our high Chair which we did give up 1 of the 2 chairs. Apparently this place holds 130 ppl according to the musician, but only owns 2 high chairs!! Between the hosts comments about the babies he knew we were bringing & the dirty looks, we decided to leave around 8:30. Yes, we were at a table for 2 hrs on a peak night, but it's not our fault the service was slow. Plus, we paid for plenty of food. I enjoyed my birthday celebration, but I wouldn't recommend you come here with children. For the owner/host, maybe you should have told us when we called in our reservation that you can't accommodate more than 2 babies. I will go elsewhere next time. There are plenty of Italian restaurants.

Nice date place!

I took my wife here for a date. The atmosphere was nice and the food was really good. From the fresh baked bread to the entree we really enjoyed our dinner.

Superb Food and Excellent Service

By MarcoPolo00 |

Bellini's exudes welcome from the owner greeting you to the cozy warmth of the interior. We were shown to a table immediately and the restaurant is very conversation friendly. The waitress knew the menu, types of beer they had and the wine list. Her cheery countenance and friendly banter made the experience very enjoyable. Our party of four consisted of two vegetarians (myself included) and our waitress said the chef would be happy to accommodate us. After placing the order, we were served bread and a mix of olive oil, garlic and spices. One word "delicious" but make sure you keep enough room for the entrée. The food was delicious. We ordered a wide variety - angle hair pasta with marinara sauce (both with and without meat, ravioli, vegetarian pizza (they call it small but was large enough for left overs). The house wine was very good and the Italian beer brought back fond memories of a recent trip to Italy. Only one person ordered chocolate cake but our waitress being the perceptive sought brought 4 forks - I guess I need not expand on what happened next. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. I plan on eating here every time I am in Dallas.

A Hidden Secret

Bellini’s is a hidden secret at a location that you would not expect to find a restaurant with food of this outstanding quality. From the bread and olive oil to the entree to desserts, the food was great at a very reasonable price. A hidden gem.

We love Bellini’s! Love everything we have had including chicken, veal, pasta dishes and the pizza. The home made bread and olive oil is superb. The service is wonderful and the ambiance is well cozy and takes you back in time. Love to take our children and grandchildren here!!!!!

Wonderful romantic Italian hideaway

I eat here several times each year. I always receive very good service and the food is delicious. I love the veal. Always well prepared and flavorful.

What a find! The other reviewers were right - from the outside nothing special, but inside - WOW!

By Brett B |

We found this place right by our hotel (Warwick Melrose) on TripAdvisor and since it had such good reviews we thought we'd give it a try. One word - WOW! The welcome as soon as we walked in the front door was outstanding and friendly. Our server Alina was incredible and so friendly. We spent a fair bit of time just chatting with her about the place, about our visit to North America and just catching up like old friends! The owner Lorenzo also spent quite a bit of his time talking with us about his journey to opening this restaurant over a decade ago - very interesting and you really feel like you are having dinner with friends! The decor is amazing (see photos) - Lorenzo did it all himself and the place is really warm and welcoming, with tons of fresh and very nicely made paper flowers everywhere. Everyone on TripAdvisor raved about the bread with the olive oil/balsamic/garlic dipping plate. Oh my hat there were NOT wrong! Be warned though - it is big and warm and crunchy and very hard to stop eating so you can fit dinner in! The server came by a second time with the bread but we were strong and didn't give in to another little loaf. Drink service by Alina was super quick and she knew their selection very well. The wine was perfect with the food and reasonably priced. Nice to have Peroni on tap too - and great big glasses of it at the table at whim. Entrees of onion soup and fried calamari (with plenty of calamari) were both excellent. The marinara sauce with the calamari was superb. Our mains were spaghetti and meatballs (which was enormous) and crab cakes on angel hair pasta with vegetables. The crab cakes were huge, tasty and very moorish, while the angel hair pasta was delicate and light with a sort of very delicate pesto through it. It's not often we get to eat vegetables sadly in the US but there were plenty on my plate this meal! Yummo! We didn't come close to finishing our mains and Alina very quickly boxed it up for us while we spent time talking with Lorenzo and complimenting him on the place. It really is an amazing find which you would probably drive past if not for TripAdvisor. The outside doesn't do justice to the food and service experience inside! It's not bad outside - just doesn't reflect what is inside. There are patio tables which would be nice in the warmer months. We couldn't go near dessert but knowing what we had for the first two course we reckon they would be fantastic. As we were leaving we realised that we didn't have a fridge where we could keep the food so we left the leftovers there. Halfway back to the hotel Lorenzo ran after us to give us the leftovers - what a great touch and the extra effort was not lost on us. Cannot rate this place, the staff and the food highly enough!

Great service & food!

The service was good. Food was excellent. We had the veal and scallops. We would definitely come back when we are in the area.

A Pleasant Surprise

By Don C |

We have enjoyed the restaurant several times. Good is food and prices are reasonable. The exterior is plain and the inside is a little over the top! However, we always enjoy our meal. Sometimes there is live music as well. The service is attentive and parking is easy.

Best Kept Secret in Dallas

By Kathy C |

We snuck out of our hotel and turned to good ole Siri for a pizza place. She took us to Bellini's and when we pulled up we were expecting a fast food type pizza restaurant (the outside does not do this restaurant justice) but when we walked in..... Oh My !!! what a romantic feast for the eyes. The ambiance in this restaurant is 5 star!!! Delicious hot freshly baked bread with olive oil welcome you and the romantic music playing in the background sets the mood just right. I can't say enough about the incredible flower arrangements..... so beautiful. We were in a hurry and just tried the pizza which hardly had an sauce and I would not order again but I let my eyes wander to the other tables and their meals looked exquisite. I will be visiting here again very soon. If you are looking for a romantic spot.... this is it!

Cute Restaurant

By Cara C |

We had our work Christmas party here. The restaurant is very cute and authentic. The food is good, but not a lot of selection in the wine department (it seemed). Wait staff is Italian, which lends to the atmosphere, but very hard to understand.

A charming find in Dallas!

We found this restaurant based on a recommendation from the Warwick Melrose Hotel. They warned us that the outside does not look impressive but the restaurant is great. They were right! We walked in and were pleasantly surprised by the lovely restaurant. Our waiter, David, was incredible. He was knowledgeable, personable, and gave us excellent service. We described the type of wine we wanted and he selected the perfect bottle. We loved our meals and the wine! The prices are very reasonable, which we appreciated in Dallas. It was a wonderful evening over a delicious meal. We almost felt like we were having dinner at a friend's house - that is how nice our evening was. A great little treasure in Dallas!

HIDDEN TREASURE

By DebsTN15 |

We read the reviews and decided to try for ourselves and were not disappointed. A few minutes walk away from our hotel we stepped through the uninviting doors into an Aladdin's cave. Lorenzo swept us to an empty table and welcomed us as though long lost friends. Within minutes we had on our table, iced water, a bottle of wine and the warm, homemade bread served with his famous roasted garlic, balsamic, parmesan and herb olive oil dip. We couldn't resist adding some chill flakes and we were well on the way to a great dinner. We chose from a carefully balanced menu of salads, pastas, pizzas, fish, seafood and meat. The lamb was the most expensive item on the menu but well worth every penny! Nothing was too much trouble and if something was missing from the menu, it was added. A great dinner so we returned for lunch the next day and were not disappointed with clam linguine bianco, spinach salad and pizza - divine. No room for dessert. If you are in the area and looking for a relaxed lunch or dinner at a reasonable price, do not pass Bellini's Cafe.

Good Italian food with excellent bread

By 4Nomads17 |

Three of us went there for dinner and everything was delicious. The service was excellent and their fresh bread, which we dipped in olive oil, balsamic and garlic, is out of this world.

Delicious find

By Christina O |

Like people say, the bread and olive oil/basalmic is wonderful. And they just keep bringing it to you! We had spaghetti (with sausage) and fettuccine alfredo with chicken. Both were great, and the plates were huge! We couldn't finish! Which unfortunately left no room for dessert, but I would definitely come again (if we're ever in Dallas again).

Don't be fooled by the hole-in-the-wall outside

By aolson2015 |

This place was amazing. I have never had better service, the food was consistently amazing, and they even brought us a box of leftovers from a big party they had that day where they made too much food. Adorable! We left a huge tip and the waiter was genuinely touched and thankful which made it even better. Regret we don't live there so we could go back.

Great Italian!!

Bellini's was a great Italian restaurant! We had the Chicken Parmesan & Pan Seared Chicken Breast and it was really good! They give you some awesome fresh baked herb bread that you can dip in olive oil / balsamic vinegar which is very tasty. Live music while we were there which was nice. I'd recommend trying Bellini's if you are in the area!

Good for lunch, great for a date.

By Scott W |

I have been here three times, and have only had one dish, the Chicken Bellini. I'm not sure if this is the namesake of the restaurant, or just a coincidence, but it is absolutely fantastic. I want to try something else, but every time I try, I just remember how great it is, and I don't have the heart. The service is always great, and the owner normally stops by and asks how everything is. If you're in the Oaklawn area, I highly recommend this place. You will not regret it, trust me.

Outstanding food, even better service.

By MrAndMrsC_2005 |

We came by late one evening after a long day at a sports tournament, and everyone was tired and hungry. Our athlete wanted pasta, so we were looking for somewhere convenient with great food that was still open, and boy did we ever find it! We were worried about our attire, but the hostess assured us we were fine in our shorts and t-shirts, and they treated us very well. The staff was polite and attentive, and the food - oh my word! - the food was outstanding. The bread was wonderful as were each of our entrees. We had the spaghetti and meatballs, chicken marsala, veal parmesan, and chicken parmesan, and not one single thing wasn't excellent. We would definitely go back to Bellini's.

Great Italian, great service, great place!

By Austin K |

The highlight of this meal for me was definitely the amazing bread and Italian dip that was provided as soon as we sat down - it was wonderful! We also had excellent service by the staff. Our pizza didn't blow me away, nut I'm sure there are better things on the menu. Overall, this was a great place!

Great little local place with great service and great food.

Been coming to Bellini's for years. It is a wonderful little quaint local place with great food great service, very reasonable prices too.

Food and atmosphere is just as if you were in Ri e!

By elfbelf |

You would most likely never stop in here from driving by. However, do not let that fool you go! Homemade Its.isn food that simply was delicious. The complimentary home made hot and crusty a Italian bread served with a high quality olive oil mix got things started off right!! Spaghetti and meatballs and the tomato mozzarella salad were excellent. Although I expected fresh buffalo mozzarella , the salad came with another form of mozzarella but it was really good. A good variety of flavorful greens and a homemade basalmic drizzle was tasty. Spaghetti and meatballs were homemade and portions were huge. No real negatives but the service could've been a little speedier and for some reason the pasta arrived steaming hot but the meatballs were just lukewarm. Overall, a wonderful and charming neighbor find. Please give it a try but do not be scared off by the exterior!!

OMG!!! It was amazing!!!

The food was spectacular! The service was spectacular!! A really amazing restaurant. Loved the chicken parm, and the Talapia. Tomato sauce was as authentic as you can get! Well certainly go back!

Wonderful Italian and gorgeous inside!

You would not think it from the outside, but the interior is just amazing. The bread and olive oil are best in the city, all chicken dishes are great. Our favorite Italian restaurant in DFW!

Unexpected Delight

By Jeff L |

Recently, while on a business trip to Dallas I happened upon Bellini's. I was in the mood for a nice, quiet and relaxing dinner. Bellini's delivered, and then some. First, don't be fooled by the modest exterior. The restaurant sits in a nondescript, small strip mall. It isn't much to look at from the outside, but it is delightfully decorated inside. I was seated at my table by a very professional waiter. I asked him to recommend a cabernet and he hit the mark. Shortly thereafter, fresh baked bread was brought to my table accompanied by a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar with chopped garlic. It was great. I ordered the chicken marsala. I've been on a marsala kick of late and this was one of the better versions I've had. The chicken was sliced breast, like you'd get from a Thanksgiving turkey. It was tender and melted in my mouth. The marsala wine sauce was just right. Throughout my meal the wait staff kept my water glass full, the bread and dip coming and was pleasant and attentive the entire time. This was about the best service I've had anywhere, including high priced steakhouses. If you're in the area I highly recommend Bellini's Cafe.

Excellent Food and Service

Great food and great service. We had a loud boisterous party and our waitress was great! She went out of her way to take care of us. Appetizers, main course, and wines were all excellent!
