I'm sad to say that this was a local birthday dinner for a nice date night. Staff was friendly though we had to wait a long time to be acknowledged by the host for our reservation. Food was Fair, though plated well. Had to send my duck breast back due to the extreme salt issue, the kind that makes your tongue burn. Came back with a smaller amount but still really salty and rather tough. I tried to add my bonvoy number for points, they won't do it in house. they tell you to send your receipt in to Marriott to complete. Annoying. Also, parking is $25 but they will not give validation or discount. Server was great except not as attentive when ready for another glass of wine. It was not busy at all. Not what I expected from the Ritz Carlton level. I'm understanding now why they are having financial problems at the Portland location. I'd go again for drinks but not the food. It's just not up to the foodie experience of Portland and the Ritz.

Came here for lunch on a weekday. First, the positives. The building itself is gorgeous, the decor is luxe, and the views are fabulous. The people-watching is top tier. The food itself is a mixed bag. I have to commend the chefs for the creative blends of flavors and ingredients, and every dish looked incredible. I had the mushroom toast, which was delicious! I highly recommend! The French fries were good but not amazing, nothing special, and they came with ketchup. I would have expected some kind of unique dipping sauce from a place like this. Unfortunately, the biggest negative is the staff. Walking into the hotel, there were no doormen, no one to greet us. The front desk staff just stood there staring at their screens. A lone bellhop walked around aimlessly. Not only does this create a sterile atmosphere, I also worry that this is a safety issue, if their staff members aren’t engaging with people in the lobby. Once we got up to Bellpine, the hostess seemed unusually frazzled, even though there weren’t many guests at that point. Our server was friendly enough but couldn’t answer basic questions about menu items. It feels like the staff here haven’t been trained in customer service at a high-end venue. I know this is a newer place and they might just be getting their bearings. I’d be willing to give them another chance a few months down the road.

We went to celebrate 10 years of marriage having always had great experiences in Ritz Carlton (in Muscat, Ubud and New Orleans). We ordered 2 appetizers each to start (one based on crab and one based on lobster ) they brought us some stuffed sandwiches that brought us back to the atmosphere of a McDonald’s. Ordered later some raw salmon and 'arrived a paltry dish drowned in soy sauce. The distracted waitress topped up our mineral water with tap water. Angry and disappointed we ordered nothing else and left.

No doubt about it this restaurant is beautiful and the service was attentive. Food beautifully plated. However, I felt it was overpriced even for New Years Eve in Portland at $200 per person without drinks. We didn’t have the wine pairing but it was $85. We made reservations months ago but was only informed about the 6 course tasting menu and cost a few days before New Years, when other dining options were no longer unavailable. Really?? I also called to ask for the menu in advance of our arrival and was never informed what they were serving. They were going to email it to me but did not follow through. A little disorganized or pretentious. Fun to try it once though. Food could be hotter. Food tasted good but was just served warm by the time they worked on their presentation for a very small portion of meat. I had enough to eat but bigger eaters may have left hungry. I noticed a lot of kind, well meaning people working and I expect the restaurant will improve over time. A non alcoholic cocktail is $15. No bread offered at the table. Parking is extra also.

It is nice to have a Portland high-rise restaurant. Service was stupendous. The menu is interesting and creative. We had the salmon and three of the tapas. All were good. This is a place to splurge and have a nice meal.

As a former Portlander and a veteran of the hospitality business for over 30 years, it truly warms my heart to have such a special place to dine in the Rose City. As a hotel guest for about a week I have been fortunate enough to dine here multiple times for breakfast and twice for dinner so far. Dining here is a special experience, it’s not just a meal.. Regardless of the meal period dine in, you’re in for a treat. I’m gonna start with breakfast. The menu is modest sized and focused and includes many breakfast favorites such as Eggs Benedict with a rich but balanced hollandaise sauce with a touch of lemon covering perfectly poached eggs which served with an ample amount of crispy breakfast potatoes. I am also enjoyed the bagel with the Oregon coast lox and local cream cheese, along with arugula, pickled onions and capers. For my initial lunch and subsequent breakfasts I have had had the pleasure of having Enrique provide professional friendly service. He is a very welcoming gentlemen. The service component here really elevates the entire dining experience to a different level.. My first evening here, dining with relatives we chose to sample multiple small plates and everything was wonderful, especially the shrimp corndog, and the lobster. The desserts are truly amazing. Gabrielle was a friendly efficient server. My second dinner experience was equally as amazing this occasion we chose some small place along with the grand entrées. Each entry serves two people and comes with multiple sides.. We chose the salmon and the Denver cut shoulder steak. The salmon is prepared on a flat top and then transferred to the oven. Probably the best salmon I’ve ever had in my life. It was bursting with flavors. The steak was tender and delicate. First sous vide and finished on the grill.. The service was equall amazing and welcoming. Bellpine is a mandatory stopping for anywhere near Portland.

With great pleasure, I’m sharing our experience from Sunday brunch ✨ Everything was at the highest level — from the atmosphere to the smallest details. The food was absolutely exceptional, incredibly delicious, and beautifully prepared. Every bite was a true delight. Thank you for the warm ambiance, excellent service, and outstanding cuisine. We would definitely love to come back again 💛

The Bellpine Restaurant was thoroughly disappointing and not close to Ritz Carlton standards. Sat us a half hour after our reservation time on a Tuesday night, the menu is inaccessible and ridiculous. The prices are sky high for small plates and the wine list is preposterously overpriced. Walked out, because I can get food I actually want to eat, at a better restaurant like Bullard, El Gaucho or the Whiskey Library that are in walking distance. $240 ribeye? All three restaurants around the corner have that for half the price. I have eaten at Ritz Carlton's all over the world, this one needs work. Once the novelty wears off I can't see this place lasting.

Went for a family dinner. Very overpriced. Duck entree was I think $180 with two sides. Server said feeds 2-3 people. Server didn’t know how to carve the duck. The tiny duck sat there for about 7 minutes. The portion was so small relative to the cost. You would also think the sides would have been larger if you are ordering one of their proteins. Attentive service and nicely decorated. The appetizers were inventive and mainly tasty. The cabbage was a highlight. I think if this restaurant wants to last they need to readjust their prices for the mains or increase the size of at least the duck. I think offering traditional inventive mains would be better then what they are offering.

Food and menu are just okay. Not really that good or imaginative. We ordered too much food on the shared plate menu. I wish the server had guided us better. I could not even eat two of the dishes as I was too full. The service in general was excellent. They did not give us a view table so the experience of the view was not great. That is most of the reason why you would go here. I agree with others who suggest to have a drink here and go elsewhere for dinner. Also be warned that you pay $25 for valet to eat dinner here.
Fantastic, top notch experience of food, hospitality and spectacular view.
Fantastic, top notch experience of food, hospitality and spectacular view. We went for a special birthday dinner and were very warmly greeted by two hosts and shown to our lovely table. For dinner we shared the salmon and the four sides that came with it and also got two deserts. The salmon was delicious--rich and juicy with a wonderful texture. We also loved the sides of mashed potatoes with mozzarella, roasted vegetables and a tomato salad. The servings were so generous that we had enough for lunch the next day. The chocolate-mushroom desert was presented as a miniature enchanted mushroom forest which was all sweet and edible, just beautiful. Special shout-out to our server Angie, who was gracious, relaxed and responsive. After dinner we walked around the dining room a bit to look around and Angie showed us to a small outside deck from which to enjoy an even more spectacular view than we had at our table. We have both eaten at many fine restaurants in the US and in Europe and we felt this was one of the best meals with the finest hospitality that we have ever experienced. Cannot wait to go again!
