This is a terrific place. Our party of 4 all loved our different meals. Has a great urban "vibe" to it. Part of State Hotel which is also a great find.

Great location while you’re walking downtown near Pike Place. Fun little find - we had to wait just a little bit, but they got us in for brunch fairly quickly. They had both breakfast and lunch options - we had breakfast and it was so good! Try the ricotta pancakes - they were new to us and we really enjoyed them!! The bacon is a generous portion and also delish!

We stopped in for breakfast, which was dreadful. A small plate described as “tuna confit toast with tarragon aioli and picked shallots” turned out to be cold prefabricated canned tuna salad with no aioli, and no shallots on cold, once lightly toasted, wheat bread. Another small dish described as homemade yogurt with fruit mostarda was not very good yogurt with a few pieces of out of season fruit — no mostarda in sight. Neither dish was tasty or well-prepared. The coffee was substandard.

We stumbled upon it and stayed for a while. The limited menu offers off-the-beaten-path items. The baked eggs entree was a favorite. The avocado toast with sweet and savory peppers was just right. There is nothing like fresh squeezed orange juice for breakfast.

We had dinner and it was so good had to do breakfast in the morning. Everything was superb, the drinks are perfect. No nonsense handcrafted cocktails. I loved the ribeye and octopus too. Hands down one of the better restaurants in the city. Check out my photos, Ben Paris is legit!

Very nice venue-terrific curb appeal and nice vibe inside. 2-3 costumed staff. Excellent for conversations. Food was quite nice but the line-caught King Salmon my wife ordered... OMG-I think it was the best Salmon I have ever had in a restuarant! Perfectly cooked. And they obviously know how to cook it right because they first cooked it too long apologizing for the delay: "Sorry, for the delay, the chef accidently over-cooked the salmon." Most places would have just served it. Not Ben Paris. Complete dedication to quality. And Ohhhhhh-so worth the wait! I can't wait to go back there again! Salmon came in a bed of lentils cooked and seasoned to perfection. Spinach garnish. Total delish. Service was a little slow at some points-as they were quite busy, but not bad. Server was efficient and friendly--though a bit effeminate. (Nice nails dude) and not really off-putting. I had the Crab Lois. Outstanding-quite good, though different than any I have ever had before. A bit like a wedge salad. And one whole egg, unsliced, cooked "chef style", that is, with a runny yolk. I quite enjoyed it. Finished well, ate every bite and felt quite satisfied. Good portions on every dish. Our daughter had the fried chicken, collared greens, Mac and cheese. She enjoyed her meal as well. For appetizers we had French fires w/oyster mayonnaise. Yep--that pretty much describes the condiment. A good and distinct oyster flavor. Outlandish-and probably has quite a following. Good, but not my fave. I asked for ketchup which came right out after Requested. Our other appetizer was Brussels sprouts. Again a bit diffeeent. Daughter noted proscouito? She said it was the best Brussel sprout dish she'd ever had. While I disagree, they were good enough for me. But both appetizers were a bit too salty for a low-salt guy like me. I enjoyed a nice 18 oz Ben Paris pilsner on tap. Daughter was well-pleased with the hard cider. We really enjoyed our dinner. With a $12 discount we found on our bill (along with an apology for the salmon delay) , dinner came to $137 plus my tip. Will return and WILL order the King Salmon. No one does it better!!!

Located very centrally as part of a boutique hotel, this restaurant has an interesting menu with a variety of nice dishes. The prices are very reasonable and the service quite effective.

Ben Paris. Situated on the street level of the State Hotel at one of the entrances to Pike Place. I had hoped to try this place last April but circumstances interrupted. Tonight the girlfriends and I decided it was time. The occasion was bites and drinks before the Seattle Symphony performing Bach's St. John's Passion for the first time: in honor of the 300th anniversary of its inaugural performance on Good Friday, April 7th 1724. Highly recommend Réservations through OpenTable. First girlfriend arrived by bus and made sure to order the clams and the butternut squash soup and the crab salad. Second girlfriend arrived by light rail just as I walked in. We added buttermilk jalapeño hush puppies, the kale cauliflower Caesar salad, and fried halloumi cheese to the table. Girlfriend number one got a Mocktail. Girlfriend number two got a glass of white. And I got the spring drink that would donate one dollar for international women's day. That drink was a thing of beauty. It involved some many things I love including muddled fresh mint, fresh berries, fresh (not dried) lemonade slices, and an unholy strength of bourbon. The clams were delicious especially with the hunks of toasted sourdough. But the soupy base was way too, too salty to really enjoy, even when cut with the bread, so we ended up repurposing the delicious bread to scoop up the nutty butternut squash soup which was beautifully balanced and wonderful in so many ways. The crab salad was amazing! Truly so fresh with large chunks of crab meat as well as the fresh crunch of celery root etc. sliced thin… kind of wished you had three servings, one for each of us. But hands-down our favorite was the kale cauliflower Caesar salad. Don't miss that one. There's something akin to perfection about the kale being chopped up so it's not overwhelming to chew and having the cauliflower sliced and tossed in all that delicious shredded shredded cheese with the toppings. We asked for extra fresh lemon slices because that brought out the flavor of the salad. The butternut milk jalapeño hush puppies were very easy to eat with the pimento cheese dip. The fried halloumi cheese was definitely on the saltier side too, but such an enjoyable texture and the slightly sweet dipping sauce saved the day.

We were staying at the State Hotel, so we decided to just give Ben Paris a try as it is connected to the Hotel. For dinner, we were seated immediately, drink and food order taken right away. We both ordered the 8oz NY Strip with herb baby potatoes. We ordered medium and that is exactly how it came. The whipped feta and the black garlic molasses added amazing flavor to the steak. The wine selection wasn't extensive but we found a nice Nebbiolo and a tasty Pinot Noir to go along with our dinner. Service was exceptional and friendly. We also came the next morning for breakfast and ordered the Ben Paris Breakfast that included two eggs, bacon, Yukon Gold potatoes, Sourdough bread, and a breakfast parfait with fruit and granola. Again, cooked to perfection. Service was again friendly and efficient...the crew works as a team, supporting each other and keeping tabs on all the tables...most impressive. The atmosphere at Ben Paris is bright and cheerful. We will definitely come again.

Visited restaurant prior to a show at the 5th Avenue Theater. The Gin Griffey Juniper cocktail was delicious. The burrata cheese was excellent and the right size to share. The grilled lamb loin and buttermilk fried chicken were most excellent. The lamb and potatoes were cooked to perfection.

We had a wonderful take out meal at Ben Paris Saturday night. A short five minute car ride down 2nd Avenue, pick up is a snap at Ben Paris because of its hotel location. Pull into the hotel entrance, run into the lobby and the restaurant is right there. The wedge salads were huge and didn’t skimp on anything. The fried chicken was crisp and juicy, with great sides of greens and mac and cheese. Keep restaurants alive during this pandemic. Do takeout!!!

Struggled to find place to do good breakfast on Sunday morning till I stopped here. Minimal choice to be honest but the food was very good.

We had a fantastic dinner experience at Ben Paris last Saturday. When we learned that chef Quinton was going to be in charge of all the food options offered at the new State hotel we were very excited as we really enjoyed his cuisine so far at 99 Park, at Scout and especially at the Scout Chef's counter. At Ben Paris you still find his personal touch with menu options that are more accessible on a culinary aspect, and at a price point that is very reasonable. Our new favorite address in downtown Seattle!

We visited Ben Paris because we were so impressed with the food that the chef served at a special event at the zoo. We were there at Happy Hour since we were going to a concert afterwards. We each had a single burger (doubles are available), and salad (the bitter salad made of frisee with beets and the wedge salad), and my partner had a beer. Everything was tasty. The burgers were made with excellent ingredients and were slightly smoky in taste, apparently due to the smoky aioli and bacon jam. I did, however, miss having a slice of tomato. Salads were also made of good quality ingredients. The place was less than half full, so I marked the noise level as moderate. If it's full, I expect it would be a lot louder. Total cost was about $39 plus tip.

Upon entry, nobody is there. We were early and seated ourselves to wait for another couple. Drinks are very watered down, maybe 1/2 oz at best. From the appetizer menu, we ordered two octopus orders and it was wonderful. Once everyone arrived and looked at the uninspired menu, we ordered and none of us were captivated by our respective dishes. The Risotto was not even made with Arborio rice, consisted of squash, was bland and unremarkable. The steak dish arrived cold, was reheated, the steak had been cut to one half thickness but very good and the brussel sprouts were too charred to eat. Service was slow. Overall, not impressed.

I had to check out this spot during my trip to Seattle to see what all the hype was about—and it did not disappoint! I made a reservation and we were seated right away. I was with my two sisters and my brother-in-law, and we had such a great time. Let’s talk mocktails: I had The Kennedy Package and the Jessica Rabbit- OMG. So good! Everything we ordered was delicious. I went with the Ben Paris Breakfast, and let me just say… the potatoes are life. Seriously, they are so good, my sister asked how they were made. were Huge shoutout to Nico, Vera, and Justin for the top-notch service. I will definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town! I also love the fact, they were celebrating Pride!

My husband and I came to Ben Paris for a quick appetizer and round of drinks for my birthday before the Seahawks game. I got the Market Cobbler drink which was good but not great. My husband got the Lou Graham and that was also good but not great. For an appetizer, we got the grilled octopus and it was super super great! The atmosphere was very nice, service outstanding and the restaurant overall looked very high-scale. I really loved their wallpaper in the main room (or perhaps it's a painted mural) but I also loved their wallpaper on both floors by the elevators.

I did not plan on going here. The original breakfast spot was closed and we happened to see people enjoying their brunch through the windows on the way back. It looked a little too upscale for me, but we gave it a try anyway. This restaurant is connected to the State Hotel. Service was good and ambience was quaint. There were dried flowers on each table and the furniture was practical, but cozy. The wall paper in the restaurant and hotel was really cool. We ordered ricotta pancakes and a breakfast plate to share. Nothing spectacular, but quality was good. The pancakes came out way before the breakfast, but I didn’t mind. The dishes came out piping hot. You can tell they came straight from the stove, which I appreciated.

Had breakfast here when I stayed at The State Hotel as it’s right next to the hotel lobby. I loved that they were open at 6:30am as jetlag got me up really early. Nice ambiance and a decent breakfast option. Service was a little slow in the morning though there were only a few customers.

Imaginative cocktails, with a compact but yet still wide ranging menu of both appetizers and mains, including a daily food and cocktail special. It includes a well stocked bar and has a modern ambiance.

The diversity of quality brunch menu choices makes it quite clear that Ben Paris takes their breakfasts/brunches seriously—not like many other restaurants where it is more of a pump fake instead of a genuine effort. They serve a nice Bloody Mary, which one can follow with a Cinnamon Roll or Hand Pie—there were four of us and we split both. If you want light, they have a Grain Bowl with Grilled Chicken. If you feel like a sandwich, they have a good Fried Chicken Sandwich. However, if you want the more traditional breakfast, they have the hearty choice of a Ribeye Steak & Egg or the tasty Breakfast Sandwich—just two of the choices. The sun shining through the floor to ceiling windows creates a bright and cheery atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and the place has a welcoming feel to it. Check out my photos for more details.

The wallpaper takes over the decor with great, original taste. Food is good, nce selection of Washington State wines and great service.

This is a new restaurant just steps from Pike Place located in the new State Hotel. My boyfriend and I were very happy with our meal and the service we received. Excellent service from everyone, beautiful and bright space and the food was so good! The chicken sandwich was delicious, however it is on the spicy side which we did not mind at all, but could be a problem if you don’t like spicy foods. We saw other plates coming out and everything look delicious! Highly recommend!

This was a very pleasant restaurant. We went there without a booking on a Saturday afternoon and were happy to be seated in minutes. The service was friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. We went there purely based on good reviews and its proximity to the Pike place Market and we we weren't disappointed at all. We ordered the Avacado toast and Fried Chicken sandwich and Mac and Cheese for our little one. Each food item was quite delicately prepared especially the avacado toast where the eggs were boiled to perfection with the yolk oozing out with a golden glow. The fried chicken sandwich too had a unique taste with a sour twist. I loved it! The only slight let down was the mac and cheese which was little too hard for kids to eat although I understand that its not a speciality. I would love to return for the fried Chicken sandwich and the ambiance...

Great new restaurant in the recently opened State Hotel in Seattle . Open most days to 10 pm and 11 pm on Fr and Sat. Contemporary cuisine and interesting dishes. Very popular from observtion is the fried chicken -- with a mac n cheese to die for. And collard greens! But also grilled octupus, great vegetabls, a nice wine and drink selection. Now the problem -- so noisy you cannot hear the person across the table. Maybe for the young and hearing. Not a great spot for older adults who would like to hear themselves think. Maybe lunch but what a pity no noise control

As a neighbour across the road, I have tried to dine here or make a reservation 4 times, each time despite empty tables, I was met with a rude decline, it is very clear the reason is I was dining alone. The most recent time I made a CONFIRMED reservation via Open Table a week in advance, and two days prior received a voicemail telling me I could either dine in the hotel lobby next door without table service, or go elsewhere. I instead proceeded to spend $200 at Goldfinch and Von's each respectively, so I hope their tables spent double this considering. This type of service is disgusting. I am the CEO of a global fashion brand and could have spread the word about their business, instead I can only share the taste they left in my mouth.

The location of Ben Paris is excellent. It's a popular spot, so it's usually crowded, which also makes it extremely noisy.

Fabulous restaurant located in a gorgeous hotel! My friend and I went to brunch and had a fabulous meal! Service was great and the waitress was very attentive! The food was tasty and the presentation was absolutely fabulous!! I will definitely be back again! We loved it here!

We had the best service at Ben Paris. Really! The hostess, waitress and bartender were amazing. They went above and beyond for my husband's birthday. And the food and drinks were super delicious. Would definitely go back and recommend to all.

Amazing food, service, vibe and hospitality! I had the wonderful opportunity to dine with friends at Ben Paris and everything was delicious. The craft cocktails were top notch, the service was knowledgeable and friendly and the open kitchen created the perfect culinary atmosphere. The general manager also stopped by for a friendly greet, and everything from the mussels, fried brussels sprouts, Risotto, NY Strip and Duck Leg was tasty with great presentation and flavor. This is a wonderful spot for a great meal with great company that delivers on all fronts and I highly recommend it!

My husband and I visited Ben Paris 6 times during our recent vacation. Five for breakfast and once for dinner. I am not a breakfast person so generally just had a Chai Latte and toast but I did get eggs once and they were good. My husband loved the pancakes and he ordered them every time! For dinner I got the shrimp and grits and my husband ordered a burger, both were tasty. I like the restaurant, everyone was very nice but the only thing that was off was the service. It would always take at least 5-10 minutes for someone to come over and great us and take our order. Most times I would have to flag someone down. We ordered Chai tea and an Americano everyday and it took a really long time to get those drinks. A couple of times we received our food before the drinks. This place was convenient as we were staying in the hotel and we received a $15 credit everyday.

Visited in December before a play. Arrived a little late for our reso, but we were cheerfully seated even though the restaurant was packed. Yay! We explained to our server our time constraints and she recommended the fried chicken as a quick choice with a wedge salad which my daughter and I split. We saw it being served at a nearby table and saw the generous portions. Chicken was crispy and a little spicy and tasty. Wedge salad was also generous and attractively garnished. Forgot to mention the interesting drinks memu. I had my standard gin and tonic. My daughter tried the Pretty Sultry Lullaby which she liked. Even though they were slammed, the service was timely which we appreciated. We hope someday to return.

Very nice experience, amazing service, very friendly and always on top of things. Great Ribeye Steak!

Had lunch with family downtown at Ben Paris the day after Christmas! The place is so beautiful, finally a light restaurant with a beautiful blue wall mural that was Springtime fresh! Loved the menu, they were so congenial with all the little changes we were making and it was no problem. Best burger and fries I have had anywhere for years! I love crispy fries and a lovely burger you can add or subtract whatever you want! I wish I could remember our wonderful waitress, she made it so fun! Can't recommend this high enough!

Open a month, we had a fantastic brunch in April 2019. The menu has solid choices, they do all of their baking in house (they even make their own chocolates), the service is superb, and the prices are decent for downtown Seattle. We loved the very pleasant dining room with floor to ceiling windows. Escape the touristy places in the Pike Street Market, take a very short walk here, and have a great experience. They are the boutique hotel's restaurant so open for all meals.

We chose this place for a family dinner on the recommendation of a friend, the hope of fresh produce sourced from Pike Place market and the curiosity about the Paris link. The Hail Columbia cocktail was imaginative in its presentation (rice paper floating with “The State”). Nothing special to note about the Martini and the red wine. We were not disappointed with the starters we shared that were quite original. The “Roasted Carrots” (a bit burnt some of them) with the Harissa and yogurt side, the tender herbs and the puffed grains was delicious. The “Grilled Asparagus” was extremely good too, made just right (crisp and not overcooked) and particularly the mint sauce. The Pecorino cheese and pistachio was an original combination with the asparagus. We had the taste of some fresh produce from Pike Place Market in the form of “Simple Salad” with Green Goddess dressing. As the saying goes, “the best things in life are often the simplest”. For the main course we tried the “Pan Seared True Cod” and the “Flat Iron Steak”. The Cod was done just right and went very well with the potatoes, bacon & cream. Some of the clams proved “not so fresh”. The Steak was nothing to write home about. Nothing exceptional about the wines that we tried. The conundrum of the evening was the “Paris” connection. Except for the fact that it reminded us of a brasserie, we did not see why the restaurant is called “Ben Paris”. The wait staff were friendly/enthusiastic but a bit stretched and disorganized.

Was meeting a dear friend who I hadn't seen in ages so we made a reservation at Ben Paris! Lovely meal and wonderful ambiance.

The place is loud—this is not your intimate dining experience. The service, at least the from the bar was slow. That said the restaurant served up fine meals for all seven of us. I had the steak with brussel sprouts—perfectly done. My wife had the winter squash risotto. She said it was it was “knock it out of the park good” I heard favorable reports about the king salmon as well. For history buffs, there was a Ben Paris restaurant in the building during the 1920s, but it was in the basement. The current restaurant was originally Bartell Drugs #3.

The restaurant offers to eat on a small street terrace facing the pike market or inside. The menu is simple, offering few but diverse items. The salmon was perfectly cooked and was very tasty. Combination of ingredients was bold

I usually go here a few times a year whenever I need to celebrate or had a very long or bad day. The Tour the Menu is fine if you cannot make a decision, but feel famished; although, the chef will choose the courses for you pending any allergies or preferences.

We were staying at the lovely State Hotel so started our evening out at the bar of Ben Paris, a very cute restaurant that’s attached to the hotel. Had crazy a Gin Griffey Juniper drink made by, Justin, who is a true artist. It was a blast watching him create the delicious works of liquid art. The food looked amazing too!!! We highly recommend both The State Hotel and Ben Paris!!!

Restaurant is attached to the State Hotel where we stayed. Very busy in the evening and quite open and noisy. Food is good and prices are as you would expect from a city centre restaurant although wine expensive. Service good

We're greeted by the server who told us "take a seat anywhere" . We took a table in a quieter area. Server came over and told us the had a reservation on that table and we had to move. So much for sitting anywhere. She indicated a table in a crowded zone. I told her goodbye. That's the pinnacle of poor service.

I had the pleasure of eating dinner at Ben Paris and I was very pleased with my meal and the staff! I had their gazpacho, a burger, and their ice cream (made from local berries) for dessert. Everything I at tasted wonderful!

I do normally try to look on the positive side at all times - but have been beaten on this occasion. I booked a table of 6 through Open Table. All OK on arrival but went rapidly downhill from there. We were seated and the waiter poured us water, and then we sat there for much longer than we should have done for them to take the drinks order. Probably around 10 minutes with a further 10 to 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive. We were sat opposite the bar and could see that the only bar tender on duty could clearly not cope with the volume of orders . We ordered our food. We were sat adjacent to the open kitchen and noticed that our food had been prepared and was left to sit under the hot service plate area for at least 15 minutes before the waiter brought them to our table - by which time the food was cold, the sauces congealed and were largely inedible. Again it was evident that they were very understaffed. The waiter offered to take the service charge off the bill ( on tables of 6 a 20% charge is automatically added ) . To add insult to injury for some reason they charged two of our group twice on their credit cards and they had to return the next day to sort it out !! I would definitely not return to this restaurant nor advise anyone to go.

Kind of expensive but worth it. The staff are very sweet, the host held a table for me while I ran upstairs to grab my vax card

we walked past this place and walked in no reservations just around launch time, the tables were reserved or being occupied, but the staff let us sit and eat at the bar. Our bartender was just fantastic women that kept us laughing the whole time while there, her cocktails were really nice too. food had a fun and taste twist on American food, making it interesting and fun to eat with generous portions and fantastic fries. a great experience and I would defiantly go there again if I’m in Seattle again.

First time visit to this new hot spot. Not only was the service excellent, but the atmosphere is perfect for lively conversation without being deafening. Everything we had was terrific including the brussel sprouts and avocado toast. Try the peanut butter sammie for dessert....I saw people eating enormous breakfast plates with potatoes and sausages. Great diverse menu for all foodies.

My friend and I were really looking forward to our visit here due to the reviews on here and the fact it was part of the hotel we were staying at, but sadly we both left very disappointed. The visit started well, staff were all pleasant and helpful and the wine was poured within a couple of minutes of being seated. The menu is a bit limited to be honest but not being fussy eaters we were fine with that. I ordered the Wagyu beef burger and my friend ordered the risotto, plus we shared olives, almonds and focaccia. The olives hit the spot for grazing with the wine, but the focaccia inexplicably had a layer of rock salt sprinkled on top which I scraped off after my first mouthful. The burger came with onions, mushrooms and blue cheese melted on top but sadly all the other flavours were totally overpowered by the blue cheese. Even the fact the beef was wagyu was wasted due to the very strong blue cheese - the cheapest of meats would have tasted exactly the same. The accompaniment to this dish was a huge portion of French Fries which I shared with my friend but we still managed to leave over half of those - it seemed lazy to charge $25 for a pretty normal sized burger and fill the plate up with a ridiculous amount of fries. The worst part of the meal however was my friend’s risotto. It had to be abandoned after a couple of mouthfuls due to the overwhelming saltiness - probably due to the cheese and smoked bacon which was in it. Such a shame that most dishes we had were pretty much inedible due to the overpowering saltiness. Maybe it was just on off night for the chefs but as I say, we’re not fussy eaters at all but this place just missed the mark on almost everything. One other thing we noticed was that the staff never once asked how our food was - maybe we’re spoiled in Europe, but it was a bit odd. Having eaten at other restaurants in Seattle, this place is way overpriced for the quality they offer.

Let’s begin with talking about how amazing the breakfast was! I had the breakfast sandwich and potatoes, both were excellent. The potatoes were the champion of my breakfast. They were crispy and soft at the same time. They had the perfect amount of salt and I was in heaven eating them! The breakfast sandwich was great as well. I am only giving them 4 starts because the restaurant was so packed. It was a Seahawks home game day so that is why there was such a crowd. The service was good considering how many patrons the restaurant had.

Ben Paris offers a lovely dining experience, though it is on the expensive side. The staff are exceptionally kind and attentive, making you feel welcomed. The space is beautifully designed, blending modern elegance with comfort. While the prices may be high, the quality of food and service makes it a worthwhile choice for a special brunch. Overall, a memorable experience that I would recommend!

My wife and I had an early dinner here. The dinning room was light-filled, with tall windows along Second Avenue. It has a modern, yet retro vibe with huge murals by Seattle tattoo artist Kyler Martz. The menu focuses on affordable basics done well. We had a burger, hush puppies and roasted asparagus and everything was very good. It was very busy and there wasn’t a lot of wait staff, but our server handled the crowd well. We’d definitely go back.

I had the Ben Paris old fashioned. You're gonna need to really like old fashions to enjoy this drink. I also had the mushroom risotto which was very good. The server was nice, but not very attentive. He didn't come over to the table until I was finished eating so at that point I no longer wanted another drink.

The dishes here are clearly crafted with incredible attention to detail. I had the fish special: pan seared halibut with celeriac purée & lentils and an arugula salad with citrus suprême, pickled apricot, and toasted hazelnuts. This didn’t just taste great, it was exceptionally well balanced. Just be ready to pay a hefty sum for your meal.

The fennel sausage egg biscuit sandwich with potatoes was tasty & filling. The cappuccino was very good as were the drinks several nights before.

My wife and I got by Ben Paris for brunch two weeks ago. The food was so good we wanted to try the dinner menu and went back last weekend. The Good (Breakfast) - The Hand Pies are fantastic. I can't imagine going here for breakfast and not ordering one. - I had the Breakfast Sandwich, which was A) Amazing B) Uses an amazing herb biscuit/muffin that they would be smart to start serving as a side. - My wife had the Ricotta Pancakes which were both flavorful and surprisingly light. The Good (Dinner) - We neve got off the sides menu. Which is normal for my wife and I as she has a small appetite. So we will be back to try more. - The Buttermilk Hushpuppies, excellent interpretation of Jalapeño Cornbread. - Shrimp Cocktail, extremely tasty cocktail sauce. - The star for me was the Poutine. The pork shoulder/gravy combination was rich deliciousness. The Drinks - Between brunch and dinner my wife and I have had seven different drinks and Ben Paris. All excellent, all strong. The Bad - While a gorgeous space with great wall art and ambience, it is very loud. You can still have a conversation at your table without having to raise your voice, but it isn't a quiet venue in any respect. Overall - Ben Paris is a delightful new addition to Seattle, and I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Ben Paris will steal your money. Do not do take out with this establishment. On a quiet Friday night in February, we craved friend chicken, and remembered Ben Paris had decent fried chicken. Initially, we tried phoning, but no one answered the phone. Thus, we used the take out feature on their website. We ordered two fried chicken dinners, two orders of fries, and I left a $10.00 tip. We drove down, went inside to pick up or order. Disorganization was the flavor of the day, but I assumed they would have the order correct. Once home, they forgot the two fries at a cost of $32.00. In addition, when I printed up the receipt, Ben Paris charged me $17.20 for the tip, rather than the $10.00 I stipulated. We called the restaurant and actually heard from a real person who answered the phone. However, they refused to return my money. That's right. The manager on the evening of February 25, 2022, told me he will leave a note about our claimed mistake. I went ballistic, but my wife stopped me from driving back to the restaurant to confront them. Sad fact: Ben Paris ripped me off for a total of $39.20 plus tax.

Overall very good dining experience. Good: Delicious food: we had the clams and mussels(rarely tasted a dish like this, incredible flavor), burrata and kids burger. Always a good sign when the chef walks around his restaurant to check how everybody is doing. Affordable prices. To improve: Looked like the staff could use some extra hands. Waiters seemed to be all over the place and in a rush, however they were still very friendly.

Following the recommendation of many guide books and websites we tried this place and were delighted. The cocktails were expertly made and the menu while limited, offered delicious foods with great attention to details. I ordered the greatly underrated fried chicken and it was the best I ever had outside the South. The restaurant is airy and well lit and offered a relaxed ambience of fine dining without being pretentious. Highly recommended.

Oh, dear, where to begin? Our dining experience here was one of the best in my entire 62 years on this planet. From the moment we walked in to the last delicious mouthful of dessert, everything was sublime. Our server Ally knew the menu inside and out and made helpful suggestions, plus she was amazing and friendly and professional. I had two small plates, the seared tuna and the grilled octopus, and my husband had the lamb tagine. I couldn't stop groaning with delight with every bite. We shared dessert - I can't for the life of me remember what it was, but it was heavenly. Our drinks were equally awesome. What a totally delectable repast! I wish them many years of success.

Recently was taken here for a special event. Food was excellent across everything we ate. The location is in the new State Hotel in the center of downtown Seattle so it works on any trip to the City/ The day we were there they were hosting a large group and the space was a bit noisy; given the food I can ignore this. The venue is not large so plan early. I plan to return soon.

Arrived in Seattle on an early Sunday morning and our hotel room wasn't available. The hotel staff suggested this place for breakfast. It was a short walk form the hotel and close to Pike's Place. Great décor, amazing food and reasonably priced. The staff was super friendly. food was hot and fresh and good serving sizes and the service was great. Would totally eat here again.

Phenomenal brunch!! Taylor the bartender is epic!! Seriously knows her #$&#&#. The service is exceptional, the food really, really good and the prices beyond reasonable. One of the few places I've ever been that is in a hotel that doesn't have hotel prices. It has an amazing mix of locals and tourists. A menu for everyone and all kinds of foods. A complete bar with a great list of fun drinks too. The ricotta pancakes were amazing. Cannot recommend enough. Sit at the bar with Taylor!!

Will never go back to this restaurant. It was really nice that they could get us in a half an hour early as my daughter’s plane arrived early but that is about the best thing about this restaurant. We started off with some drinks which were good. I ordered the Braised short rib, my husband order the duck confit, another person in our party ordered the fried chicken dinner and my daughter ordered the carrot ginger soup and the Barada cheese salad. My braised short rib was honestly the worst short rib I have ever had in my life. I actually sent it back. It was hard and full of fat. The duck confit was really good. The fried chicken dinner, the person stated it taste like Kentucky fried chicken with sauce on it. The salad was good and the soup was good. Service was just OK however since I sent my meal back they did take it off the check. The food was just not worth going there for, neither was the service. 200.00 for four people with my meal being taken off minus tip…so not worth it.

We were happy to find a new restaurant inside the new State Hotel, just 2 blocks from Pike Place Market, off the beaten path. On our recent trip we ate both breakfast and dinner there. The food is an innovative twist on American food, making it interesting and tasty with generous portions. We enjoyed the tuna toast, breakfast sandwich, and meat pies for breakfast. They had great coffee too. We had the tasting menu for 4 at dinner and the food just kept coming with something for everyone. The fried chicken and spicy hushpuppies were a hit. I loved the roasted carrot and hazelnut-topped asparagus side dishes. The carrot cake was perfectly moist and not too sweet. They also have craft cocktails and plenty of interesting choices on the wine list. Fun to find something new and delicious.

I repeatedly saw the cooks without masks on. Food and atmosphere were good. But does it matter if a cook gives you covid?

So happy Ben Paris survived lock down - it's been three years since my last visit (I live on the east coast) and it lives up to my memory. I had the lamb, perfectly medium rare, and my husband had the Wagyu burger. The fries are still very addictive... Our server, aptly named Ben, was a delight - knowledgeable, friendly, and solicitous. Absolutely make a reservation if you're in the area!

We were staying in Bellevue for the week and decided to pop across to Seattle for a few hours on our last day. We were dropped off at the Pike Place Market, but struggled to find anywhere that wasnt mobbed and a half-hour wait to get a table. We wandered a few blocks away and found this restaurant. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing and just what we needed to start off our day. The place looks reasonaby new with striking decor and a relaxing atmosphere, so recommend you give this place a try. Thanks again.

Very warm welcome, succulent legs to make. Owner attentive to customers, top-notch dessert in a beautiful setting, recommended for a romantic dinner

Lovely large restaurant with table and bar seating. Nice varied menu for vegans, vegetation’s and gluten free dietary requirements. Happy hour of plates and drinks between 4-6pm, generous amount on small plates, enough for sharing for 2. We ordered the chicken slider from small plates and it’s was huge probably bigger than a UK normal sized burger. House white/red some beers and some cocktails from main menu are included in the happy hour. Service is quick here, we didn’t have a booking and were seating immediately, the restaurant looks onto the Main Street and has high windows nice to just sit and watch the world go by. We didn’t have dessert lots of drinks and small plates was around $100 for 2. Good value for money if you want to try dishes, and don’t feel like a big meal. Only downside was the restaurant was very cold, I could see some of the customers were wearing and eating in their coats, I also had to put my coat on.

Stopped by for dinner after a long day touring Seattle and the Pike Place Market. So glad we didn’t choose the Hard Rock Cafe next door. Ben Paris hits the right balance between classic bistro and modern hipster hangout: very good food, clean look, casual ambiance, fun cocktails, good service. The beef short rib poutine was outstanding. The burger absolutely top notch. The salads fresh and tasty. And the portions are very generous at a reasonable price point for downtown Seattle.

Thought we would try a new place for breakfast. Our first time at Ben Paris, and likely our last. We just wanted a simple breakfast. Service was friendly, coffee was good, and it is a nice bright room. Sadly, the cappuccino my partner ordered took awhile to arrive, and when it did was cold. We tried to order poached eggs, but they don't do them. I'd asked for some peanut butter for my toast, but they don't provide it. We both felt we should have gone back to our other choice, which has always been good. Oh well, live and learn.

We decided to try Ben Paris because the neighborhood is in transition from its old scummy , gritty self- and its presence there was quite a surprise. All around this new hotel ( bathroom in the basement because of the transient street people looking I suppose for bathroom access) new buildings are going up- the last vestiges of street hang outs I think are there but in retreat. Anyhow, the food was great. Best fried chicken I think I have ever had- or at least the equal. Risotto was good too- our waitress was friendly, professional, and gracious. And things sped along so fast we could hardly keep up,. Big room- not warm and a bit noisy, but stylish.

We stayed at this hotel and aite once in Ben Paris and had drinks there as well. It was very convenient and served as an adjunct to the hotel. Because of the array of surrounding restaurants we only ate here once but the food was perfect and the service very good.

Ate here on a Sunday morning with a friend. We sat at the bar. We really enjoyed our breakfast - both the food and the service. I had a salmon omelet which I really enjoyed, and the potatoes on the side were equally good. I'd definitely go back!

For me that's a good grade! The food was good, menu creative, but a little over priced. Wine, esp glasses, were way overpriced. I liked the space, location and decor. Service was slow and staff were unattentive.

Food was great and the drinks tasty! Conveniently located at The State Hotel so very close to Pike's Market and the Wharf!
A Great Date Night
We went to Ben Paris for a date nite and were very pleased. We couldn’t decide between 2 wines we didn’t know and were graciously offers tastes of each. We started with 3 small plates. The Happy Hour shrimp cocktail was 5 large, well cooked shrimp, with a thick tomato based sauce that I would hove preferred having a little more horseradish. We then shared Shisito peppers with a tangy sauce that was perfect. We also had a burrata cheese with sliced tomato, toasted bread, and basil with a balsamic glasses drizzle that was fresh and flavorful. We would gladly repeat all three. Our main dish was halibut with brocolini, mushrooms and black rice. The fish was perfectly cooked and fresh, as were the vegetables. We finished with a brownie with chocolate ice cream. On the menu it was described as a skillet brownie which are often cooked to order. This was premade and had become slightly dry. The house made ice cream was smooth and creamy with wonderful flavor. Seating was limited but comfortable because of a large party reservation. Service was attentive, responsive, pleasantly informal and questions about menu items were well answered. The noise level was unpleasant after 6:00 but that is usual. The bill was as expected for a nice dinner downtown. We will definitely return.
