Disappointed

By Bano foto |

We went for lunch and were impressed by the big waiting area with comfortable couches and chairs, toys for kids, etc. The restaurant is very big and nicely decorated. Once at our table, we ordered our drinks. One friend ordered the Eggs Benedict from the Sunday Brunch menu. Some 15 minutes later, the waiter came to tell us that they don't have eggs Benedict any more. So our friend ordered something else from the Sunday Brunch. Fifteen minutes later the waiter returns to say they don't have what our friend ordered!!! I understand that it was a very busy day but the waiter should have informed us immediately. It took I don't know how long for the waiter to return to take a third order!! In many restaurants, after you make your order, they bring some bread or chips or something while you wait for your food to arrive. I don't expect every restaurant to do this but something should have been offered to compensate for the very long wait because of the waiter's mistake. Regarding the food, it was not worth the wait, just average.

Good food and great specials

By Boss3434 |

This place has delicious food and has phenomenal daily food and drink specials. My colleagues and I frequent this establishment and you can eat there a week straight with different meals and not be over it.

Great steak special and good enough to go back!

By Sheep2ndrow |

Had trouble getting a table at several places and we are glad we did! Came back the next night too. Lucked into the steak special the first night. I do not usually order steak because I can make a good one at home but after 11days in the Keys eating seafood the steak sounded worth a try. It was very good and my wife enjoyed her fish. The service was great. We came back the next night with a friend and I had a shrimp pasta and it was very good. Just the right size portion. My wife had the yellowtail and it was also very good. We were surprised Berries was not packed.

good place

By Collard A |

This is a place where you can have a good meal at a reasonable price with a good service. The service was very good and the food looks like it is made there.

If You’re Satisfied with Fine, It’s Fine

By pjmboston |

We had a light lunch at Berries on Christmas Day before heading to the movies. My chicken caesar wrap lacked favor and my Diet Coke was about 95 percent ice. The waiter refilled the glass but it would have taken about eight more refills to amount to an actual full glass of soda. He also didn’t seem thrilled to be working on Christmas, and I don’t necessarily hold that against him (though he could at least have tried to fake it). The sports bar vibe (NBA game playing on about six TVs) did not seem to mesh with the appearance from the outside Was it okay? I guess it was fine. But I was kind of hoping for something a little better than fine.

Trendy, Coconut Grove Gem !

By tennisplayer823 |

Our friends that live here in Miami, and know the restaurant scene very well, suggested Berries for dinner. And glad they did ! Everything we ordered was right on point. I had the grilled salmon -- which was up there with the best ever. (seriously) Cooked perfectly. Others had the ahi tuna......large house salad.....and a pizza. All were nicely prepared -- and presented beautifully ! Happy Hour is from 4-6......and that will save you a few bucks. Dinner for 4 with one drink each was $120......well worth it. Go......eat.....enjoy !

Always Safe to eat here.

Got together with old friends for lunch and as always service was good, the food was perfect, and the casual ambiance could not be matched. they never disappoint me.

Great Brunch Spot without the craziness nor wait

By Mark W |

If you want a place with good food, good service and without a long wait on Sunday for brunch, this is the place. You can also stick around and watch Sunday football in the fall time. And did I mention parking is not a hassle. Definitely check this place out for Brunch and try one of the specials for that day.

Great relaxed Grove vibe

By Scott W |

Had breakfast there yesterday. This is an inconic spot that started as a bar and has since expanded and has been around for years. Standard American fare, a wood fired pizza oven and an eclectic decor, complete with a large live tree in the main dining area. Great service, food and atmosphere. No feeling you had to rush through your meal and we were left alone even though the place was busy.

Dinner

Had the skirt steak and it was excellent as was the carrot cake as was service. Was within walking distance of Hampton inn

Great brunch!

Loved this Restaurant

By Pat K |

We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted a nice place to eat the evening before our cruise. We were very pleased with the service and the food at Berries on the Grove. We were given nice sized portions and the food was attractively presented and very flavorful. Wish we lived closer.

Very good

By Charlie Boi E |

My daughter and I came for breakfast we had a awesome waitress I think her name was Lashunna or something she was African American. She was efficient and professional the food was good and plenty of it I couldn’t finish it

A friendly bar, exceptional breakfasts, neighborhood hangout

By Charles C |

The clientele, from all walks of life, are close friends with each other and the owner, even if they do not actually live in the neighborhood.

Popular place among locals!

By BeatrizG2 |

I met some friends for dinner, the place has some history as how it started as a juice bar and expanded to what it is now. Good menu and service.

Surprisingly Good Standard Brunch and Coffee

By rickpoet |

Berries is a local establishment in the Coconut Grove area of Miami that serves well done breakfast and lunch fare. The staff was nice and the service was speedy. They have a full espresso bar and what they called “American” coffee. Not to be confused with an “Americano” (drip coffee made with espresso beans) but actual brewed coffee made from “American Coffee Beans”. (Ok so these terms were new for me when our waitress was trying to explain the difference between their espresso and “American” coffee and I was worried I was going to get an Americano…but it all worked out and the coffee was strong and delicious. I had the french toast which tasted great (though on thinner bread than I would have liked). It was served with their home fries which were very satisfying chunks of potatoes served with very fresh onions and peppers. A really well done take on “Potatoes O’Brien.” It’s a large place that can accommodate parties of all size. We were seated in an uncovered courtyard area and the floor was not quite even so I ended up being at an odd angle relative to the table…but besides that and the usual trepidation about wondering if a place that just serves standard breakfast items can actually do that well…well, they did it well!

Just Had Coffee, So Rating Just the Look

By AreWeHavingFunYet |

Dark, brick, some inside and some outside seating. Very strange entrance. Our thoughts: it needs a décor update. Service o.k., not specially friendly.

OK, but..

By hmsLondon |

Would not have gone to this restaurant if it had not been close to the hotel in which we were staying. It had a lively buzz, and seemed to be popular with locals. The menu looked good, but the food we had lacked flavour and seemed over-priced for what it was.

Nice place to eat.

By seniortraveler530 |

This place was close to our hotel, so we gave it a try. It's a nice casual place with good food and interesting local beers.

Low key place with delicious food and very fine service

By MSE1210 |

This place has something for everyone. We went twice with our kids, and we enjoyed sitting at a high top table in the bar area. Our daughter went for a personal cheese pizza. My wife and I shared some calamari, which was tasty. My wife had a burger, which she loved. I had a steak with rice and black beans special, which was phenomenal. We were about to order a bottle of wine the first night, and the server actually recommended a slightly less expensive bottle. We appreciated that, and he was correct. Cool spot.

yummy

we ordered breakfast!!! it was fabtabulous and delicious 😋 amazing service! thank you so much BERRIES!

Amazing nightly specials and happy hour

By lucpiper |

My husband and I like their Thursday steak special and their pasta night earlier in the week as well. You can never go wrong with happy hour... Breakfast and brunch are tasty too. I wish their outdoor patio space was still pet friendly, but that is my only complaint.

Great service and good food

By Christopher L |

Fun pub grub. Wings, calamari, bbq chicken, fries. Friendly server was attentive and friendly. Drink specials were a real value. No frills dining but pleasant.

Good Breakfast...Good Service

By Mikey-Nishy |

Despite My Steak being a tad overdone, I still enjoyed a lovely breakfast at berries. It was a relaxing atmosphere to dine with friends and the service was good. I do think Omelettes at $11 and 12 bucks is a bit much but you are probably paying for the atmosphere as this is not a Denny's or IHOP. Meeting up with friends to chat and have drinks/brunch/bfast......this is an option. I say meeting up because I can imagine being bored if it was just 2 people...you will see what I mean when you try it. Thanks Kenneth for a good morning.

Great atmosphere, comfortable surroundings, delicious food!

By Beth D |

Came here for lunch and it didn't disappoint! Travelled to Miami for a graduation and found Berries by accident. What a quaint wonderful way to spend an afternoon! Delicious steak sandwich and fries.

Nice but is not cheaper

By Raphael S |

Nice place, good food... The dishes are not too big as the Americans ones but, for me as a Brazilian guy it is ok. I tasted a NY strip steak, that was very nice. I would like to go other times to enjoy different experiences, but unfortunately I don’t have time.

great place to hold small events..

By Cosmopolitan774631 |

I celebrated my son's first communion in Berries. They reserved the cutest loft for us, depending on the brunch menu you choose, you could have a chef preparing omelets plus full breakfast buffet. the food was excellent, the drinks, the service outstanding. I would go again and highly recommend it.

Great brunch spot!

By TravelBoomerang |

Berries in the Grove continues to be consistently good. The menu is diverse and offers all sorts of options. The salads and sandwiches are tasty and ample and the focaccia is a nice appetizer. I like the house bloody marys, too!

Saturday Brunch!

By MARATHON-MCPO-USN |

Outstanding brunch menu and food preparation was quick and delicious. Atmosphere is sooo "Grove" - even on a rather cold Jan morning, the vibe at 830am was still kicking. The price is also very reasonable, compared to other local brunch eateries....AND they are open at 7am for brunch (vice 10 or 11 for most other places....and those places are expensive....like $25++ for french toast...lol). You won't be disappointed here and you won't be broke when you leave.

Nice spot for a quiet dinner

By Brittany H |

My husband and I ate dinner here while staying one night before our cruise. Was in walking distance from our hotel. Restaurant had nice atmosphere and a local feel. Menu has a wide selection. Food came out hot and tasty. Waitress was great. Would definitely recommend.

We went to go here to have

By bphil786 |

We went to go here to have breakfast/lunch. We waited 15-30 min for table which was no issue. Once we were sat it 25 min for a server to even approach our table. She had an attitude and gave rude comments to us that they didn’t have staff. We stated that we we going to leave for that since we haven’t been even served water. She then keep telling us about that the don’t have enough staff and it’s due to a holiday and people were off. Not even apologizing for the delay. Over all I wouldn’t go back for that service

Good place for breakfast

By Mario C |

The food was very good but not amazing. The service was good. Was not impressed with the back seating area at all. Seemed more like warehouse storage than a restaurant.

Great Happy Hour!

By Cheri G |

Went for some drinks and they were great ! Their burgers are very good! Service was speedy, helpful, and effective! Certainly will return to try other dishes!

Very good thin & crispy pizza

By 1RoswellMom |

I really enjoyed this place. It's a pizzeria, it's a bar, it's a local hot spot. Great music. It's inside and outside with great sidewalk ambiance. Hubby and I shared the crab cakes app. Very tasty and the two cakes were the perfect amount to share. The pizza was really good and also enough for the two of us to share. Great meal. Got the recommendation from the Hampton Inn where we were able to walk from. Great dinner.

Great, Relaxing Brunch!

By Rorole2 |

We were a party of 18 on a Sunday. It was busy but they seated us right away.Everyone loved their choices. The omelettes outstanding and the drinks first-rate. The menu is extensive. The waiter was attentive. Even though they have ample parking, it was full. That was the small negative. But, the management went out of their way to exchange coins for the meter. It was impossible to use credit cards and you needed at least $5 for parking. Will return again and again.

unpretentious but excellent food...great breakfast

By Jim S |

Open for b, l and dinner but breakfast is very uncrowded...good service, choices and prices. My sister in law recommend and when we walked from our hotel on Bayshore Drive we were not disappointed. When we drove by at other meal times they were always busy. Can dine in or outside.

Okay- not as good as last time we visited

By Catherine T |

Family of 6- all ordered different things. Quesadillas were ok but not great. Wraps were good, angel hair pasta good. Panini just ok. Good beer/drink selection. Service ok but waited forever to pay the check. Need to do something about the blaring bright lights from the kitchen- ruins the atmosphere for the tables nearby

Fresh Food!

By umisays8588 |

A very generous happy hour with real drinks. Monica, bartender, works hard to make certain you are happy. Love the different entree specials each night. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Don’t forget dessert!

Nice Neighbothood Casual

By Esther I |

Went for lunch, the Greek salad was very good. The cheeseburger not so good, the bread was stale and it disintegrated in my hands, big disappointment. We just asked for the check (could not find our server, but the young man at the front found us someone to bring our check)

Awesome Local Place to Eat

By Matthew R |

The hotel we were staying at recommended it to us as a place we could walk to and eat. Great choice! It is a bar/eatery that is open where you can sit on the porch or inside. The weather was rainy but we were nice and dry. I had the Hawaiian pizza which was really good. My wife order a pasta dish that was really not on the menu but the waitress gladly took care of it. She said it tasted really good. One of my girls got chicken which was excellent and my other got the kids mini burgers which was also good. The atmosphere was very nice and the weather felt great. Overall I would eat here again.

Really nice restaurant

By Cheryl R |

We were greeted and seated immediately. We had tried to go to another restaurant first, but when my daughter went in to see how long the wait would be, she said it was too noisy there. Berries was very comfortable. Three different entrees were ordered and all were delicious. We were very interested in dessert but were too full. Will definitely go back next time I’m in Coconut Grove.

Mixed reviews

By norskies |

We visited this restaurant twice, and the first time, we walked out. Our hotel had reccomended this place for lunch, so we thought we'd try it. We walked in, were given menus, and then forgotten. Since we didn't see anything on the menu that was too intriguing, and felt the prices were high, we decided to just leave after sitting there for a long time and feeling ignored. They weren't busy, so that wasn't an excuse for not serving us. We did however visit their bar on another evening. They poured a nice glass of wine, and the owner came by for a chat.

The burger was so good I nearly cried.

By Lbhendry |

I had the Jamaican Jerk burger last night. It was on the specials menu. It had mango slaw and an aioli with a side of fries. My husband and I also had the candied apple salad. Overall it was a delicious meal and the atmosphere is charming. We will certainly go back for more. Hoping to meet that burger again...

Good for meals or to drink

By MusikBrazil |

Good option for a simpler meal, although it seems to be more used by locals as a bar. The beer selection is very good, and prices in general are affordable. Their flat bread is very good and low-priced, the chicken and meat options are ok ( but the pasta & chicken cajun style wasn't hot at all). Service a little slow, but waitresses are nice to the cient. All in all, Berries is a good option.

Dinner ok- food lacking flavor and undercooked

By Kelli M |

Had dinner here 2 nights - first night was the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. The burger was ok - the fries were still a bit raw and not enjoyable at all. The second night I had the tofu stir fry which was much better on flavor. portions were reasonable, but the stir fry at $18.50 was a bit steep for rice and few bits of tofu. Wine selection not that great either. The bonus was that they had vegan options to try, and it is around the corner from the Hampton. Walkable. The outdoor/indoor dining was nice.

Great food

By lexy313 |

Ate here while staying at Hampton inn around the corner, some of the best food we had in Miami , wish we had found sooner . Fab service also from the young lady with the long dark hair, who was studying nursing. Such a great waitress . Fab food, hope to visit again very soon

Excellent Service

By Boris M |

Although the food is good, the customer service is beyond anything I haven't seen is years. We congratulated our server and asked to speak to the owner who came to the table to say hello and congratulated my mother.

Good, but not great

By Elizabeth |

The food is good, but not great. The menu is expansive, so there really is something for everyone. It's a nice place for a chill meal, but not if you want something special.

Nice food

By Alejandro A |

Typical American restaurant with Italian and American food I ordered lobster ravioli, they were nice and reasonable price Sport screens all over the place

Great Family gettogether for sibling Bdays! GetSome!!

By Loucious |

Great Bday celebration at this fun establishment! Food is great and portions are abundant! A definitely good place to visit! GetSome!!

Pretty good!

By Mateus M |

The best cost-benefit in the Groove. Plus they have some healthy options, something non-existent in American restaurants.

Brunch on Saturday

By Francisco M |

Wonderful Brunch menu, plus they also offer Breakfast menu until 3 pm. Great eggs Benedict, great pancakes, great shakes but above all, Great service. Fast and courteous waiters.

Lunch with Friends

By Dave R |

Went to Berries yesterday for lunch with a group of friends. I hadn’t been here in years and I was amazed at the changes! Although there is now more than enough room to accommodate large crowds, I miss the small cozy place that it used to be, true there where times when we waited a long time. The new enhanced space is visually interesting with really tall ceilings. There is parking in the rear and if that is full there is plenty of parking on the surrounding streets. I had the fish tacos which were beautifully presented. The fish which I was informed was Mahi-mahi, it was lightly breaded and deep fried. It wasn’t greasy but nice and crispy. My friends ordered the focaccia which all three agreed wasn’t crispy but rather doughy and chewy, therefore disappointing. I like that there weren’t TV’s in the main dining area which is one of my pet peeves. There are TV’s in the bar area if your so inclined. Overall it was a good meal and worth a visit.

Favorite restaurant in Coconut Grove

By Mike P |

This place is awesome! Walking distance from our hotel so no need to fight traffic or for parking. Food is always great. The atmosphere is extremely nice in the cooler weather.

Good late evening food

By andrew s |

Grateful to find a place serving food at 10:30pm. Lots of reviews about brunch so we tried Berries and enjoyed it overall. The smoked fish dip was delicious, served with tortilla chips and raw veggies. We liked the chopped onion and jalapeños on the side but wished the peppers were hotter. We split the Rio de Janeiro Panini and were intrigued by the Brazilian cream cheese complementing the mozzarella, chicken, basil and tomato. The dough was good but more reminiscent of a calzone than a panini. Drinks had a reasonable pour but the club soda was flat the first time around. That said they opened a fresh bottle and made new, better drinks. Overall it was a good value and freshly prepared food so we were happy.

Family-friendly neighborhood spot

By Kevin W |

We wandered around the corner from the nearby Hampton and found a fun, funky place where we felt immediately at home. The full-grown tree standing in the middle of the dining room was a bit of a shock -- until we realized we were sitting in an open-air courtyard now closed in for the summer A/C season. The food was delicious, and I was glad I opted for the special (it was T-bone Thursday, after all). The place is dog-friendly as long as you and they follow the few rules.

Always Top Notch

By BlueMarlinDave |

I have been coming here for years and this place never fails to disappoint. This is the first time I have been here for breakfast versus dinner or drinks. The breakfast was great and inexpensive. This establishment is a fixture in the Grove with plenty of parking. Worth a visit.

nice place ok food

By kcanavan2010 |

This "local restaurant" Has a very nice indoor terrace and a good bar. The food is regular, you can get a good salad or sandwich. the prices look more like NEw york and the service is definitely not at the top . This place is open all day and accommodates children well

Pre Cruise Dinner

By maryd2004 |

The Hampton Inn recommended Berries as a good local restaurant. We were not disappointed. One the best burgers ever. Family atmosphere with great service. Easy walk from the hotel. Good way to get in a Florida state of mind. It's the "Berries in the Grove."

Overpriced

By Lee H |

Was staying at a hotel nearby so went here for valentines night, went out early as hadn't booked so was pleased to get a table. Liked the feel of the place, quite laid back which is what we wanted as not big fans of valentines night. Service was ok but the food was dreadful. I fancied a curry as hadn't eaten anything spicy for a while so ordered a chicken curry which was the worst curry I've ever eaten, tasted just like it came from a jar, sloppy rice, inedible and for over $20 a rip off, my partner had steak which wasn't as bad as mine but not good either. $100 later we went across the road to Burger King where we ate ready to go burgers to fill ourselves up. Would not recommend other than having a drink

A very pleasant surprise.

By HoloNorthRoyalton_OH |

Great happy hour specials. Thursday special was a 16 oz. T-Bone steak for $13.99. Was skeptical on how good it could be for that price. To my delight it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful.

Good local spot, excellent for breakfast too.

By afootandahalf |

This is a pretty busy place which is frequented by tourists and locals alike. They have a large menu and thus far i have not had a bad dish. The service is always prompt and staff are all nice. But the atmosphere is really the thing i like the most, especially if you just want to sit at the bar. You will always get chatting to someone. For those if you who love a good breakfast this is for you, they have a wide variety and the place is always busy. Both my kids & mother love the place.

Lunch

By LinaTravelz |

I liked the atmosphere but the salmon pasta wasn't all that to me. Don't get me wrong, it was good just not super crazy about it. Well it could be due to the fact I eat out a lot and I've tried many of the same dishes. The quality of the food is ok so I would definitely recommend this place. Long wait times though, so if you're in a hurry or have a short lunch, preorder your food!!! the waiter that took our order took forever! I'm a very patient person but that day she took forever just to bring drinks and lemons. I can't blame her for the long wait on our food either. We got there around noon; ordered our drinks around 12:40, and we got them about 1:27. Yes it took that long...I ordered a smoothie and my colleagues ordered soft drinks. Our food came out the kitchen close to 2:03. We ate fast and left by 3pm. There was another gentlemen working their who stopped by our table to greet us and asked us if we need anything. That was nice of him. O and I can't forget to add how tasty the smoothie was. It made up for the long wait 😊

Nice pizza

By Essexboy |

After a long transatlantic flight we checked in to the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove & walked around the corner to Berries - nice and friendly & ordered the Italian pizza to share as we were tired from the flight. Coupled this with a couple of beers and the bill came to $23 - food was nice and service good.

Most horrible food and service in the Gables

By Maxfortu |

Went there on Sunday for a quick bite, I ordered a simple burger medium. After 40 minutes I got this small bun burger well done with pickels that I asked not, gave a bite horrible taste tried the french fries looks like where fried early in the morning, asked for a check of course they charge the burger. Well done…

Berries

I love the atmosphere here. Great outdoor seating and the patio is also comfortable with lots of light. Service was good. I had the chicken and goat cheese wrap. Very good. Nice wine selection and the drinks are also very good. Enjoy.

Tasty Pizza, Salad, and Beer

By Outdoor Traveler |

The good reviews for Berries in the Grove paid off for us. Just a short walk from our hotel. We had tasty wood-fired pizza and fresh salads plus some of their delicious house-brewed beer. It was a slow Monday for them and the service was just fine. The bar has a local feel. We enjoyed our meal very much. The only problem we had was that Florida was experiencing unusually cold weather and it was pretty chilly in the restaurant. Not really their fault, they had a heater going, but the space was just too large to deal with the unusual cold. We'd love to come back and enjoy the vibe and outdoor seating in warm weather.

Not sure if I would every go back

By Lee Lowerre |

I was taken back by the waitress who spent much of her time sitting a table with two (2) men laughing and giggling instead of taking care of her customers. Left with a bad taste in my mouth. Let alone my food was served cold.

Stable Staples

By alanme44 |

I have eaten at Berries numerous times over the past several years. It is always reliable as to service and the menu. The menu is varied with my favorite being the wraps. It is a great place to meet friends or family and enjoy the food and drinks. I have never felt rushed here. Berries has a relaxing atmosphere and is a very popular local spot.

Nice find

By Bhavin N |

Lucky to have found this restaurant whilst on a day transit in miami. Nice and open restaurant/bar with a refreshing feel to it. Portion sizes were good and service friendly/prompt.

Berries in the Grove says it all

By Connie B |

Fun menu and great friendly bar...The food is tasty and creative. The location on SW 27th Avenue is convenient and there is usually ample parking. Whenever we are hungry for something fun, someone says "how about Berries in the Grove" and everyone says "YES!"

Great Brunch! Dog Friendly!

By Isabelle F |

We wanted an easy place to get brunch, and this place was great. They have ample parking which is very nice, and are dog friendly. We had brunch with friends and had decent service, food was great, portions big, and had a nice time. Would definitely eat here again, the place is quite big!

Consistently good

By wesleyulloa |

Been going here for about 10 years. Never have had a bad experience in over 100 visits except for the occasional lousy waiter. Food is very good quality. Good pizza, skirt steak and pastas. Pretty much always order the berries chop chop with miso dressing when dieting. Highly recommend!

Nice laid back neighborhood restaurant

By MrClarasDad |

As with many other reviewers, I was staying at the nearby Hampton Inn and walked over to Berries for dinner. Nice, but rather small, bar area where dining is welcome. Berries is obviously popular with the locals as many of the people around the bar seemed to know each other and the bartenders. This made for a very laid back, friendly atmosphere and I ended up staying for a few drinks after dinner. The menu itself is rather ordinary. I had a very good wood fired pizza and they have a real wood fired oven in the back. Several pizzas have unusual toppings and my prosciutto and arugula pizza was excellent. They have several entrees (steak, salmon), burgers. salads, sandwiches and a large selection of wraps (the wraps is part of what makes the menu feel kind of out of date). Overall I enjoyed my meal and visit and would return if back in the area. If you're staying at the Hampton, this is a no-brainer if you don't want to drive and want to stay in the neighborhood.

Better Neighborhood restaurant

By Mike A |

If you want an enjoyable neighborhood restaurant in Miami, Berries is certainly one. Located in Coconut Grove, it is not gourmet food but is very functional and warm,. They have an excellent bar, diverse enough menu and reasonably efficient staff. Finally another restaurant open for breakfast, it is enjoyable also for lunch and dinner.

Love this place

By Melissa G |

It's open and birds fly in, there are trees in the restaurant and a breeze. You can sit inside or out. I have only eaten breakfast here. The omelettes are delicious. It's a great spot to conduct business. It isn't too crowded and there is a lot of room. You can spend time here. My only reason for not giving five stars is the service. Wait staff is not attentive and several times I have had to get up and hunt them down. Still- I will go back and I recommend.

Good specials

By CDY |

Food is pretty good , they run specials each day - which seem good buys, drink prices are pretty good at happy hour

Delicious

By Vaxxn8 |

Conveniently located within walking distance from the Hampton Inn Coconut Grove, this restaurant offered us good food options. Not the prettiest restaurant I've seen, but the food more than made up for that. We had a flatbread pizza appetizer that was delicious followed by grouper with jasmine rice and broccoli entree and lobster ravioli in a pepper cream sauce. My husband's grouper dish was sooooo good. The lobster ravioli was good, too, but the grouper was that much better. For dessert, I had tiramisu which was delicious, too. I would definitely dine here again!

Coral Gables, FL Lunch $$

By GrandpaDelrayDancer |

We arrived during noon lunch hour and probably 75% business people. Ordered noon specials: Chicken Parmigian and 10 buffalo wings both with ice tea. Service was great, glasses filled, extra napkins etc. Wings came out first with apology. Parmigian came 5-7 minutes and was not extremely hot so wondered if it had gone wrong direction and came back to kitchen. Wings (photos of all) were Blue Cheese and no celery as is normal in S Florida. They appeared to be baked instead of fried (menu was very healthy). Chicken was good with rigatoni. Was a tad bit hard to cut but tender to eat. Iced tea brewed and excellent. Bathrooms extremely clean appearing as if new. $10 Tues(photo) and real deal Thursdays (photo)

Pretty good

By Ellen L |

This is in an odd building. Maybe used to be a club? Food was pretty good. We were there at a time when it wasn't busy but service wasn't great. Biggest issue was water dripping on tables, chairs, and diners from condensation on overhead AC ducts. Really need to do something about that.

Relaxed atmosphere, some unique menu items

By ripcurrentman |

It was worth the drive from Miami Beach to this restaurant. My wife said her salad was nearly the best she has ever had. My daughter wants to make a day trip down from Melbourne to have the pumpkin ravioli. I thought the key lime pie was perfect. Though we ate indoors, there was an outdoor ambiance.

Wood Burn Oven

By Jacquie V |

Our office is around the corner so this is a place I frequent often. They have a wood burn oven, daily specials and wonderful regular staples. They have an indoor courtyard and wonderful drinks. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The panini and the salads are excellent. On Tuesdays they have pasta specials and on Thursday they have a wonderful steak special.

Go for the house specialities

By JackPB66 |

Dropped in at Berries since my restaurant of choice was full, but I’m glad I did. I went for two of the chef’s recommended dishes, the crab cakes for appetizer and skirt steak for entree. One of the best crab cakes I’ve had and the skirt steak was delicious and had a yummy char coal taste. I sat at the bar and was waited on by Dawn, a charming young lady. I’ll be back.

stayed in Miami for a cruise at the Hampton Inn Cherry Grove and the front desk told us about this place. If you are ever in Cherry Grove, check this place out. Friendly staff and excellent food. would highly recommend this place to all.

A Hidden Gem in the Grove (Coconut Grove)

By eernest21 |

In a few words this place has a great combination of coziness, GREAT local craft beer selection, and delicious food. From the beers my favorite is Wynwood La Rubia, from the food menu I really enjoyed the Ribs with Guava BBQ Sauce and the Tostones with Braised Meat. Overall, this place is very chill.....enjoy!

Great food, Great service!

By aashbach |

Had a wonderful late lunch - early dinner here after traveling. T-bone steak with chimichurri, corn on the cob and coleslaw was excellent. Fast and friendly service, reasonable prices. Outdoor patio seating was great.

Our favorite Coconut Grove restaurant

By Connie B |

Introduced Berries to a friend who is a world traveler and really appreciates fine dining. SHE LOVED IT! My favorite is the salmon...always great. I especially like the metal art on the back wall of the main dining room by Rebecca Kyrouac. It has tiny holes which, when back lit, reveal a graceful tree. We always have to sit close to it.

Good food

By Brooke014 |

I had pizza and my husband had oxtail. Both very good. Nice selection of food. Prices reasonable for the area. My pizza was $12.

Finding Berries improved our stay in Coconut Grove

By AP4948 |

Excellent friendly and helpful service each of 3 times we visited even if just to buy a carry out .Evening meals were varied and good value served in a place full of atmosphere and , as a recommendation , not all customers were tourists ! Extensive drinks list with good selection of beers available - also reasonably priced . Berries house salad worth a particular mention as are Servers Orlando and Argen who each made our visits better in their own way .

Worthy Eclectic Cuisine!

By BorregoSailor |

Not really a bar, Italian rstaurant, pizzeria but WOW was the food good. The caprese was stellar with pesto dollups. Although it was T-bone Thursday (16 oz. T-bone for an incredible deal), I had the Beef Stroganoff. Simple outstanding. Tender perfectly seasoned beef, great sauce, and goat cheese clumps. Great flavors that worked so well together I am surprised I haven't seen that done elsewhere. Nice wine very nice, but impressive was that they had fine aged sipping rums-the true sign of a quality establishment. Well worth the visit.

Pleasant and above average.

By 706kathleenl |

Thankfully, Berries is a good place in neighborhood with few restaurants. The bar and screen scene is fun for sports fans, but the food is good and is not just "bar food." Good salads and the appetizers are generous and good to share. We could walk there from the Hampton Inn and forego the Miami traffic for a couple hours!

Disappointed

By Shirley1109 |

I was invited to Berries by a friend who had a good experience the week before. Not sure if it was the timing but late afternoon meal on a Monday was disappointing.

Good Food and Nice Setting

By Flydog66 |

The food at Berries is much improved lately. Fresh fish has been excellent on several occasions recently. Setting is nice with expanded indoor seating but nicest seating is outside under the big tree (weather permitting.) I do think it is quite overpriced for a local restaurant which is why we don't go more often.

NOT GOOD FOR LARGE GROUP

By JohnP13147 |

We went to Berries as part of a group of 30 people. We did split up into tables of 4, 6, or 8, but we still did not receive decent service. Different people took our drink & food orders, and other people served it. My two meals were lost, and arrived well after everyone else finished. My Chicken Parm. was okay, but my wife's salad was mediocre at best. It MIGHT be better as a couple, or single party, but I won't be going back.

Good bar food - on the tad expensive side

By A2freqtrav |

Conveniently located around the corner from the Hampton Inn, Berries serves good drinks at a reasonable price. The food is a touch expensive - they do have brick oven pizza made on premises. Went back two nights in a row for margaritas!

We live over a 1000 miles away but talk about Berries like we live down the block..

By pintsandprosecco |

Wow, we miss Berries! Although we now live in a new country and over 1000 miles away, we talk about Berries like we live down the block. We used to live in the Grove and go to Berries for pizza, wraps, salads and specials. I highly recommend their salad dressing (even as a dip for the crust of your pizza)! They used to have crazy wait times for a table during peak times but ever since they bought the restaurant next door, things have died down a bit. I think it was a smart move but I do miss the hustle and bustle of the old 'feel.' Berries, we miss you!

Wonderful brunch

By photoguy_10 |

Berries delivered as we hoped as well all enjoyed our brunch. I shared a tuna wrap with my wife. Our daughter had the mushroom omlet and her boyfriend had a mexican omlet. Everything was delicious and more than ample in size and quality. Service was excellent and prices were fair.

Local spot

By lulubirdie |

Berries is a great place with super fresh ingredients and something for everyone. I had lunch there today with my son and he loved his chicken Parmesan and I enjoyed my delicious veggie burger. We started with a yummy calamari platter that included bits of zucchini and carrots. It was quite pleasant sitting on the veranda. Totally a local spot, on our visit today there was a family with a baby, three business women having lunch at the bar and lots of others just having fun.

Good breakfast, so-so service

By Sue R |

Had breakfast here with friends from Miami who had never been here either, so it was a first for all. I had French toast, and my husband had a Belgian waffle, both of which were very good. The French toast wasn't over-cooked or dry as in many places. It was soft and very nice. Also we all shared a fruit bowl, which was loaded with lots of nice fresh fruit, including raspberries and blueberries instead of the usual melon and grape fare. However, the service was slow and a bit disorganized, and the table got very crowded because some of the items, like the little cups of cream, were served on an unnecessarily huge plate. The place is being renovated. Hoping for more improvements, along with the physical appearance.

Great food and atmosphere

By frankculver |

Berries is always a good dinner / bar experience! Never had a bad thing, the menu is varied and creative.

Delicious Catch All Restaurant

By hamiltonbrittany67 |

This restaurant offers a greatest hits option for both healthy food and comfort food. While not having a distinct theme, the menu has something for everyone, which might be the solution for Miami cuisine-weary tourists staying in Coral Gables.

Food poisoning

By notwhattheyc |

I really hate giving a one star review as the waitress was really nice and the food was tasty. However, my friend got horrible food poisoning and it was definitely from here. She had a grilled chicken salad and two beers.

Around the corner from Hampton Inn

By GC_Guru |

Yes this was convenient, esp in the rain. The decor is sort of industrial, can't tell if they were constructing something Well I should have known better than to order Maine lobster in Miami, and not a sea food restaurant. We liked the key lime pie.

Bring a hat

By Mel C |

While waiting for nearly an hour (yes, fifty-five minutes) for our meal, we had occasion to discuss the service with five other couples. All had complaints about the shoddiness - the only fault that did not befall (non pun intended) us was that a bird (this is in the covered indoor courtyard) did not drop a turd on either of our heads. I refused to take a picture of the disgusting mess, but you are hereby issued a challenge to call the management and see if they 'fess up. Incorrectly tallied bills, undelivered food, abominably long waits - all the usual. But if you are only interested in the quality, value and presentation of the food - and can ignore everything else - then by all means go: and bring something to read...and a hat. May I also add that while parking spaces are plentiful, it is a busy place, and you may have to wait for a spot.

Dinner with my World

By Alex P |

The Lobster and shrimp scampi was good. The restaurant ambiance was too warm. They needed to harm the A/C on stronger with the humidity coming from outdoors. The service was very poor this evening for a half full restaurant. There were way more busboy staff than waiters. The wait service was too slow. We may go back and set in the rear area of the restaurant next time.

Great food, nice crowd

By Judi-Bill |

Very close to the Hampton Inn. We ate outside had burgers and pizza and a watermelon daiquiris. The help is very attentive. A nice menu so every one set in a nice neighborhood and liquor store is just down the street

Not a great first experience!!

By WildcatRoadie |

Visited Berries for the first time today for a business luncheon. Well unfortunately this was my first and could be my last time visiting. Our server was very nice, don’t get me wrong, she was doing the best she could under the circumstances. After waiting an hour, and asking our server on numerous occasions about the wait, the meal we were served was poor at best! The server kept telling us that the kitchen was backed up and that Thursday’s are busy days, huh?? When we finally received our meals the tuna in a seared poke bowl was over cooked and ice cold and this was the special! The fries on my club sandwich were soggy and what appeared to be re-heated. Unfortunately, we had run out of time and had to depart before finishing our meals, having had to wait so long! Be cautious!!

All right for Breakfast

By Alamills |

I went to Berries with my brother for breakfast. Sitting on the porch is pretty good. Service is prompt and effective. The breakfast was okay, nothing spectacular. Nothing remarkable as to the French Platter that I ordered. I had breakfast, nothing much more to say.

Yummy and friendly

By Coty C |

Today we went to lunch at Berries in the Grove, as I usually do, and we received an outstanding service. Unfortunately, my mother had a medical inconvenience (low blood pressure) and passed out while we were eating. The owner, Robert Snider, quickly approached our table to help us, requested an ambulance that arrived immediately and was always with us to help with whatever was needed. It is easy to deliver a good service when you spend just an ordinary day of lunch out, but the true good service is seen when unexpected situations arise. I would recommend anyone to eat at Berries in the Grove not only because the food is excellent and meals are abundant, but the quality of human beings working at the restaurant is remarkable. We would definitely go back and recommend this restaurant with the peace of mind that they give it all for the customers. Congrats!

A little different for Miami ... it's the Grove after all !

By Trip25112770470 |

I came here today with lifelong friends and what a delight to be in such eclectic surroundings! (I'm so sick of everything new in Miami being so cold and sterile). Service and food were good, although not especially noteworthy. The music was GREAT (old rock) but not loud enough to hear over the crowd of people there. I would go back any day and that (to me) says it all.

Interesting place

By Kleb122 |

This was an interesting place. We came here for an event and was disappointed. The bar choices were limited and the room was cold with no place to sit.

Good place for weekend brunch

By foody52 |

Went late morning for brunch an we got a table outside near the street but not on it. Nice mimosa's and not shy with the champagne. I enjoyed the eggs benedict and my wife had a very large omelet she said was delicious. Home fries were very crisp and tasty. Nice atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Extensive menu.

Good sports bar with ample food and beer menu.

By John M |

My wife and I eat dinner here frequently and Sunday brunch occasionally. Food is tasty and portions are ample. The 'on tap' beer menu is good and there are numerous TVs for sports viewing. Noise level is relatively modest for a sports bar. Parking is usually ample.

Great breakfast

By mep10 |

I've only been to Berries for breakfast but I have sought it out each time I've been to Miami. Great food with excellent service in a comfortable, laid back environment. It's not fussy but they have all the elements of a delicious breakfast - fresh squeezed orange juice, espresso coffee choices and delicious breakfast combinations. If you find yourself in Coral Gables or Brickell neighborhood, go to Berries for breakfast, lunch, supper or a nightcap.

Flawless,excellent experience

By pmanosalvas |

service was excellent and the food was superb. We had pasta and they were perfect. Also the pizza dessert was out of this world.

Good value and atmosphere

By debrah711 |

This spot is trying to be a bistro and will get there....good variety on the menu, average service, but it is a busy spot for eat in a nd take out. Good wine and drinks list.

Great food accompanied by great beer!

By Dr_Engineer_Adelaide |

So I'm only staying a stone's throw from here at the Hampton, and have walked past each night on my way to eat in the Coco Walk area. Tonight, I decided to give the place a go, given it looked like they had a good beer list. I wasn't disappointed! The vibe os pretty relaxed, and it's a good bar and grill place with a Miami flavoured menu. There's some great choices on there, including ceviche, which always makes me happy! I started with the octopus ceviche, which came out in a cocktail glass, and graduated to the Berries Burger main. Both were top notch, which was great to see/eat. The beer menu is impressive too, with a good cross section of local and American brews covering lots of styles. Perfect for washing down the food. I ate at the bar and enjoyed a nice chilled atmosphere, with the bar open to the streets and very relaxed, at least on a Sunday! Definitely recommended!

Pet Friendly?? Think twice before going or get ready to be humiliated if your dog don't stay quite...

By Edna C |

I went to this restaurant because apparently they are pet friendly. Well, what a disappointment and will never come back there. I was humiliated and asked to leave because my dog was barking. Wonder if they also humiliate parents when their kids start crying and are asked to leave the restaurant....

Fun local spot

By 552elainel |

Breakfast to happy hour Berries is an affordable accessible place to eat and grab a drink. Large menu, good food, nice atmosphere.

Eclectic, Trendy, Pricey

By RoswellDad |

This certainly is one of the more interesting Miami establishments we've visited. Berries literally might be best described as part sports bar and part treehouse. It has large outdoor and indoor sections. This is a dog-friendly restaurant, even inside. The dinner menu is mostly New American, and somewhat pricey. We enjoyed very good crab cakes and thin crust pizza. The service was mostly very good but slacked off near the end of the meal. Recommended; it's quite unique.

Great food, poor service.

By MiamiMike89 |

We were a party of 13, to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were told how amazing this place was. The ambience is great and free parking, which is increasingly hard to find in Miami. The menu should be manageable with great options. The quality of food was great. The problem was the service. Our dinks came out slowly. So slow to the point that we had to ask where were the drinks for three of our guests. Then when we ordered our meal, the same thing happened with our food coming out of the kitchen. Some people were able to eat and finish their food before the last person was served. The kitchen and service staff needs to work on getting food out faster.

One of my go to restaurants

By AllieMiami |

We live just around the corner from Berries and eat here a couple of times per month. You'll definitely feel the "local" vibe here. Most of the people who come in are regulars - we love our Berries. My favorites are the wraps (Mahi Wrap & Salmon Wrap) and salads (Greek is my fave), but I do enjoy the fish specials when they offer them. Many people that I've brought also enjoy the salmon on the menu. It's a great place to bring a whole crowd of people since there is so much variety on the menu. Even pizza - which works out great when we have kids with us. My favorite place to sit is in the outside section (the original restaurant) but the newer indoor section does have a lot of room of large groups. If you are looking for a laid back, Grovey restaurant, Berries is it!

Good choice away from the bustle

By TheRealAwaxy |

Berries is a nice change from the hustle and bustle in downtown Coconut Grove. It's about a 10 minute walk from the water and worth the trip. One night I went in just to have a beer and the helpful server recommended a really nice IPA from 26 Degree Brewing. The next night my wife and I went for dinner. I had one of the daily specials - a kafta plate. It had two sausages, good hummus, nice pita, and some veg. It was very good! My wife had an Asian salad with chicken which she enjoyed. I again had the IPA and my wife had a glass of white wine. Our server was great, the food good, and the price reasonable. I would definitely go back!

We will return

By denitrip |

The food was good we had breakfast and they offer several options. We had a great waiter - free parking is great for the Grove

Open Air Dining

By Dennis W |

We really enjoyed the open air dining experience at Berries. Service was very good and the food was excellent. The Grove area is a great location and easy access. We loved the Mahi fingers.

Nice Restaurant Close to Hampton Inn

By Genofred |

We opted for this restaurant because of its location near the hotel as well as the favorable reviews it had received.A two minute walk and we were welcomed by the head waiter and our server. The ambiance was friendly- with outdoor seating available. Our waiter Steven was very good and quite pleasant. I selected the turkey club sandwich with fries. my wife wanted a light meal- ordered Brunswick stew. The selections were value priced and very large portions. Steven was attending but not overbearing. There is private parking- a plus for many places in the area. I highly recommend Berries.

Thank you for the great service

By Ville R |

We dined 2 times last year in June during our holiday.. The food was excellent. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful, There was also gluten free available and moving around with a wheelchair was also very successful.

Loooooong waiting time

By MiguelABV |

If you come with a Party more that 4 be patient since they will make you wait a loooong time Be sure to ask smoothie well in advance since it will take a good 20 min to arrive to your table Service and food are average

Great Breakfast spot

By Chris H |

We landed in Miami looking for a spot to eat breakfast. What a nice place we found in the Grove area. Great Food Great Service

To brunch or not to brunch?

By Mireya A |

We wanted to eat brunch as a family and we picked this place. On normal days the food and service is quick and efficient . However for brunch we will never go back. The food come out 45 minutes after we ordered it! However as always the food was excelente.

Casual and tasty

By tmezz |

Great indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Great food and waiter. Loved the chicken park and the chicken Marsala.

Great meal

By Jenny60046 |

Great low key dining. Found this place and tried it for dinner. Sat at a high top table in the bar area. Husband had teriyaki chicken stir fry and I had a burger with fresh mozzarella and tostones instead of fries. We each had the fresh squeezed lemonade instead of drinks. Wished we could have tried their breakfast as our food was excellent. Service was a little slow but everyplace is short staffed. It wasn’t an issue for us but it might if you’re in a hurry. One star off since location is convenient but left turn out of there was impossible and it made for noisy open air dining.

Not bad, but not great.

By VillageGypsy |

Coming back to Coconut Grove after many years away, and looking for a sort-of "authentic" experience in a light dinner.... Hotel reception mentioned Berries (as being close). So... they had outside seating (next to bar & sidewalk, with many TVs with sports). We got an inside table - relatively quiet. My partner commented this room was formerly outdoors, with brick flooring and "utility wall". But the utility wall had a GORGEOUS copper "sculpture" of a tree (as well as 2 TVs). I ordered a regular quesadilla (with added mushrooms and green olives). My partner ordered a chicken finger appetizer. Two wines came, and they were good. The chicken fingers were a tad overdone. My quesadilla came with welcome guacamole, salsa and sour cream. But the quesadilla was oily on the bottom. I managed to insert 2 paper napkins between the food and the plate, to soak up the excess. But it still wasn't "finger food", but a knife and fork worked okay. But they did a great job incorporating the mushrooms and green olives! It was a bit difficult to get the server's attention to get the check. Overall - not a bad, but easily forgettable experience.

Breakfast

By Todd F |

Walking up from the outside in the morning the building looked dated and worn. But inside the place was clean and staff were friendly. The inside was decorated for the winter holidays. We ordered pancakes and waffles. The food was well prepared and delicious!

Best Service in Town

By jamesprich |

Wife and I go frequently i,e. once a week. e only negative may be the parking which is limited but normally adequate. I think they have the best pizza i town and most other dishes are notable.

Great Brunch

By VYP |

We came for brunch and didn't get anything from the bar. Portion is reasonable though price is on the high side. French toasts and bacons are good but not the toast. Waitress is friendly. Sitting inside is hot and we chose outside that has big fan blowing.

Mixed feelings here, may be good for a quick drink.... Food was awful, for price cheap processed food

By Andy R |

I went into this restaurant during the day with not many customers there. I ordered a turkey sandwich... I had to wait 30 minutes for an over toasted sandwich, processed turkey it was not good at all. The place had sticky tables, sorry not impressed at all

Food

By Lorinme |

Loved this place. The atmosphere was so nice and relaxing. Was staying at the Hampton Inn and it was close by within walking distance which was great. Loved the food. Yes they were remodeling but all in all it was great.

Lunch

By pephillips2017 |

Unique looking interior, very good quality food, $$ to $$$. 2 burgers, fries, soup and waters for $34. Excellent food, great service. I'd like to try it for dinner sometime.

BBB.. Breakfast with Besties at Berries

By PHKORL |

We enjoyed our breakfast here. It was a very nice breakfast but nothing is spectacular. Great place to seat with friends and family and spend quality time. If you are not a big eater, you might want to get the a la carter breakfast rather than the omelette, traditional breakfast, etc

beware of rip offs

By geoff w |

food good, but watch out for the beer scams. had a happy hour price beer for $6.50 that apparently usually sells for $8.50. 2$ off draft beers at a not so happy hour. the same beer available in a bar 2 blocks away for $2.50. greed doesn't always work.

A place with a buzz and really good service

By afootandahalf |

This is not one of my regulars as we go there probably twice a week now. It is good for the kids as they get something to draw with and on the TV there is always some sport. But lately we started to drop in for a few drinks. The place has good service and a bit of a buzz to it, chances are you will end up chatting to someone new. Berries is a welcoming spot with good service and friendly staff and patrons alike.

Great Outdoor Scene & Friendly Service

By rafos |

Great place for a friendly business lunch essentially al fresco. The lunch specials are a good value in Coconut Grove. The food is good quality and well presented. Seems to be great for Happy Hour as well.

disappointingly ordinary

By BettendorfTraveler |

Two of us walked in right after 7 on a Friday night to join two others who had arrived earlier. Server came to the table very quickly, mentioned that happy hour prices were good until 7. I glanced at the time, noting it was a few minutes after 7,but took her offer to mean they were going to "stretch" the end of happy hour for a few minutes for us. We ordered drinks accordingly, only to have her return a few minutes later saying it was past 7 and they couldn't honor happy hour pricing. This sort of started things out less than well and the evening never really recovered. They were certainly within their rights to charge regular prices after 7, but once the happy hour special prices had been offered, they should have been fulfilled. No bar ever lost money on happy hours! They have a very nice, extensive menu. Friend and I ordered a goat cheese salad to share to start - the kitchen gets kudos for splitting it for us, but it was totally inadequately dressed, and the dressing was nothing special. Lots of berries and candied nuts, not a very large serving of goat cheese. My chicken caesar wrap came out, unfortunately, long before I was done with my salad. The side dish was - - more green salad! I would have thought the server would have thought to point that out (not mentioned on the menu) or at least suggested an alternative side. Would not expect a side of salad with a chicken caesar wrap which already, of course, has a fair amount of lettuce in it. The wrap was nothing special - lots of croutons in it - not really necessary in a wrap! There was a live band playing - the volume was not defeaning, but it was loud enough to make conversation difficult. Enjoyed their playlist, but would rather not have had to contend with the extra noise. The atmosphere is typical of a neighborhood bar and grille - the pics on TripAdvisor flatter the place. It's pretty worn and tired looking. Considering the quality of the food and the less-than-special atmosphere, I thought their prices were too high. Would have expected the goat cheese salad to be at least $2 or 3 less than it was, and the wrap to be either $1 or 2 less as well. It wasn't bad, just not really good. Won't be rushing back anywhere near soon.

Easy going drop in

By Bungaymike |

Very simple and straightforward, plenty of tables, good little place for a quick bite. Own car park, so it is an easy stopover. Menu is fine, drinks good too.

Delicious coffee and good breakfast and brunch options.

By Mercedes V |

It is a family-friendly, comfortable and fresh restaurant. The service and quality of the food is good and the prices are average. Coffee, delicious. They have good location and parking available.

Rude bar service

By homesteadgurl |

I like to come to this restaurant on occasion considering I do not live in this area; however I was greeted by a rude bartender while I was there dining. Monika Z is her name and she seems to be homophobic. In this day and age I would assume that this world would be more open. I did not receive one smile , not one look in the eye , and not any appreciation for being a customer. Food was average and service was embarrassing. I hope it improves as it is a lovely area to dine! So unfortunate! Never will return.

Great local restaurant

By johnsokl223 |

While in town for several days, we had visited Berries on several occasions. Usually, we had a large group, and they were able to accommodate us quickly. The food, and especially the service, were top notch. The only downside was they had a limited selection of beers.

Good food and abundant portions

By hectorfrommiami |

We came here for lunch, and even when the food took a little more than we wanted to arrive, the taste was great and the portions were generous. Service was good and the prices not cheap but neither inflated, they were reasonable. Tables were spaced properly and the staff was masked and trying to keep the established social distance

Dependable pleasant spot near the Hampton Inn

By Kate L |

We have eaten at Berries when we stay at the nearby Hampton Inn more than once. I always describe it as a dependable neighborhood spot. The space is pleasant - open air seating if you're into that, and with TV's if you want to watch basketball. The food is good. Pastas are nicely done and the alfredo sauce is delicate rather than thick and gloppy. Pizzas are wood fired. There are healthy options and less expensive options. Service has been excellent. The staff clearly care about their patrons. Desserts are wonderful - which was a happy surprise! Dogs and children are welcome. There is finer dining in Miami, but some days Berries is just we need.

Great food, great atmosphere

By Monica D |

I loved everything about this place. The food was delivered in a timely manner, and was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere though was my favorite part of the entire experience. It was unlike anywhere I've ever been to before.

Great place for brunch

By Haylee M |

Brunch on a Sunday was delicious. Food was great and service was good. It was really busy but we only waited 15 minutes to get in. Service was fast and staff was really nice. Great portions and I’d for sure come again! Everything looked so good!

Great service and atmosphere, okay food

By ebone28 |

Hidden gem in the grove. Not the best breakfast in Miami. The pancakes were flat not fluffy but the bacon was good and so was the coffee. It was totally worth it though because of the attentive staff and cool tree inside the restaurant. Our 17 month old loved it and restaurants can be tricky with her so we will definitely be back!

Great for Breakfast!

By Beisy_13 |

Apparently "Berries" has been in the Coconut Grove area for a while now. Starting as a small place and it keeps growing....... That in itself speaks volume. We went for a brunch type of mean and enjoyed it a lot.

Great Casual Dining

By RetiredBears |

Staying at the Hampton Inn prior to our cruise, we asked for a dinner recommendation within walking distance of the hotel. They gave us 2, one of which was Berries in the Grove, and it was just around the corner. We decided to go for the pizza. We made our topping selections, and enjoyed our beer in a friendly and somewhat quiet atmosphere (we were apparently there prior to the Friday evening crowd). We sat somewhat in the interior, but could have had sat outside. We were definitely thrilled with the thin crust pizza. It was one of the best that we've had in a very long time. Their size was just perfect for two, and we can't say what it was, but is was just so, sooo good. We will definitely be back the next time in Miami.

Awesome food and atmosphere!

By jacuzzi24 |

My daughter, a family friend and I were in Miami for one night after a Key West weekend and Marlins baseball game on our way back to our home in the Tampa Bay Area. We stayed at a hotel near Berries and gave it a try for Dinner. Boy are we glad we did. It was delicious and such a great atmosphere with a small band playing live music. We ordered our meals which were a Margherita pizza, a Prosciutto panini and Tofu stir fry for me as I am vegetarian. We all loved our food choices. Every one of us had a delicious meal and were extremely happy with our choices. My tofu stir fry was exceptional. I would have loved it even if I was not vegetarian! Our dinners were so good and the service was so efficient that we returned for breakfast the following morning before our drive back home. Breakfast was just as delightful with our Pancakes platter, Ham and cheese omelet and Mushrooms and Spinach omelet. Great Mimosas too! I would definitely return here to dine and recommend it to others!

The Best Food and Huge Portions!

By M Sinclair |

I love the open air atmosphere in the dining area of the bar. The bar opens to the night air. The portions are very large; you will be lucky if you eat it all!

Excellent Breakfast

By Phil M |

The breakfast here was outstanding. Yogurt parfait, avocado toast, and French toast were all very good. Great spot for a nice breakfast in a unique atmosphere.

Early dinner not so good

By Gringo |

Sat at the bar, hoping for a nice quick meal. Initial wine was just nasty. Service was slow to the point that I thought I was invisible. Hint- tell the employees to PUT DOWN THEIR DANG PHONES!!!

Good tasting food; good service, ok drinks, and a fun place in the Grove

By Mark P |

I have been to Berries many times over the years when I am staying in Coconut Grove. It is the closest restaurant to The Hampton Inn that I can walk to. It always has decent food, and the servers are always friendly and give good service. My personal experience with their mixed drinks though is not good...I have had margaritas made at Berries several times over the years, and I have never liked any of them... HOWEVER, my business partner orders Mojitos, and he says that Berries is the only place that makes a decent Mojito... Who knows !! Berries is very lively, and a great place for casual dining with a fun atmosphere. I will go back....

Some very good vegetarian options

By Paul H |

We had the Tofu Stir Fry for $19.45 and Veggie Burger with Fries for $14.45. Both tasted excellent. We also had a bottle of wine (Rosemount Shiraz) for $15 which was great value for the money. The restaurant had a bar in the centre and had many TV screens which I typically dislike. The staff were good however.

Really good brunch in the Grove...

By emilena89 |

I have been in Berries a couple of times. We usually go to celebrate family members birthdays. This time we went for my own birthday. I recommend to get there early for brunch, the place gets packed and parking lot can be a real nightmare. We went last Sunday and got there at 11 am and it was already really hard to find a parking spot. The staff is extremely friendly and the restaurant looks clean at all times. I went with my parents and the three of us absolutely loved our food. I tried different plates and always liked the food. Good fresh OJ too! Berries has a very nice, family oriented ambiance. They even allowed dogs inside which I think is really nice. I will always go back for brunch!

Good place for breakfast

Th his is a good place for breakfast. The menu is pretty extensive and the place is large and unique. The food is good but a bit overpriced on some items and the service can be a bit slow since they are pretty busy. Good place overall.

Very Good Food but not what was expected

The food, service and menu selection were very good. Though described as a patio and outdoor seating, wasn't really what you'd think, only veranda seating. Large venue, high ceilings inside so still was very open. Great for large groups and families, but not intimate or cozy. Good value,

Relaxed vibe and good food

I tried this place while on a business trip in Miami. It wasn't too far from my hotel. I went around 5pm and parking was available in the lot next to the restaurant. I sat at the bar and enjoyed good conversation with locals. The establishment is half indoor/outdoor. They were playing good music and it was packed by 8pm. I had a vegetable pizza which was flavorful and thin like I like it. The wine and beer selection was decent. I would go back again.
