Delicious Brunch

By Christopher H |

I went to this place for the first time with a group of friends for Sunday Brunch. All of our dishes were fantastic! I had the Challah French Toast, and if you’re looking for a sweet indulgence this is definitely it. We tried all of the desserts as well and I’d say go for the Nutella Brownie or Sticky Toffee cake for sure. I definitely plan to go back!

Superior experience

Food was super tasty, awesome atmosphere, service was phenomenal, and drinks were on point. Highly recommend for a date night or family dinner.

Expensive meal that is quickly forgettable

By netcapital |

Dallas is quickly becoming known for culinary innovation and excellence, having another expensive yet average food option, especially for a neighborhood place, does not cut it. With so many restaurant choices at all price points available in every area of this city (we have more restaurants per capita than most other major metro areas), one need NOT ever settle with a plethora of options. We tried Beverley's (positioned as 'an all day Bistro') in order to support the neighborhood and try a new restaurant addition in the Uptown/Knox area. The place is lovely and we enjoyed the ambience and found it particularly enjoyable sitting outside - perhaps the best way to avoid the noise levels inside. Our service was super friendly but inexperienced. Many of the menu options were creative in spirit and nice change from the formulaic norm. That said, we were unimpressed with the food in spite of the good quality ingredients and creative visual presentation. The overall culinary sum was entirely forgettable - my Branzino was average and had way too salted sides, all presented unappetizingly lukewarm (having just had a fantastic Branzino in California earlier this year, I had a good reference point). My significant other had flavorless Scottish salmon in lentils, also way too oversalted and also served lukewarm, and our dinner companions had 'steak from the grill' - you choose from Bistro ($28), Filet ($44), or NY Strip ($56) level - all prepared Steak Frites style purportedly using the enticing Parisian Bistro approach. This was by far the biggest disappointment as such expensive meat quality was near ruined by weak preparation. (As a recommendation, go to nearby Toulouse Cafe on Knox for their near perfect French Steak frites if you have such a craving or to NHS for their 'London Broil' Steak frites). The wine list was nicely curated, but limited. Our final bill ran ~$125 per person before tip (three courses, each person had wine, no cocktails), which in NYC might seem like a deal for evening Bistro fine dining, but in Dallas for a neighborhood Bistro such pricing is not credible unless you are the well established and ever fabulous NHS. There are just too many other first rate restaurants guaranteeing a much more memorable dining experience for better value. The other issue is if trying to be a neighborhood Bistro restaurant, have unique signature well executed Bistro favorites that keep us coming back for more. The Matzo ball soup and the chicken schnitzel are all interesting menu items, but not something that will bring us back and not hot weather compatible. On another occasion I went back to meet for a drink and found their bar items very limiting (expensive so-so olives and basic marconas which tend to be free elsewhere) and uninspiring, not to mention the idea of caviar latkes unoriginal, given free caviar at Nick & Sam's at their bar. Without delivering culinary excellence and strong execution, high priced Dallas neighborhood restaurants have little by way of staying power once the chic newness wears off.

My neighborhood bar & restaurant

By CarlaEb |

A friend of mine took me to this place and said "i know you, this is your type of place" and she was spot on! Their wine list is robust, diverse with excellent options at very reasonable price. Even the "by the glass" list (which tends to be the cheaper wines) is absolutely great. Their two roses are great but my favorite is their BOURGOGNE BLANC - 2017 J.J. Vincent, Burgundy, FRA. The service is super friendly - Kevin, Brad, McKenzie, Megan, Greg, all of them, super nice and attentive. The food is delicious! Oysters always super fresh, the ceviche tostada, the tuna crudo, the olives, soooo good! Their patio is great, even on a hot Texas day. Highly recommend it!

Rude

By Chasity M |

I came to this place for a business visit and felt very uncomfortable soon as I walked in the door. The staff are very rude and racist. Just so happens the person I spoke with is the manager. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Delightful experience

By Sharon M |

My second visit to this restaurant was Saturday, October 26. Absolutely delightful. The food is great. The atmosphere is really with it, sexy bar, and pretty footprint. An interesting and good menu. I met the owner Mr. Katz who is very nice. I wish him the best with this endeavor. All the staff was super. A nice pour with the drinks. Always a good thing.

Great food

Food here was great, from good burrata salad and a delicious pasta. Service was very friendly and accommodating of my niece (toddler) and the espresso martinis were great as well.

Love Everything Here!

Great new restaurant in an old strip mall! This used to be an old bar and the whole block has been bought and revamped! The restaurant has a hip cozy feel to it! Great busy bar! Reservations are the norm but we were lucky to find a spot at the bar! The handcrafted cocktails are excellent ! We had their version of a Marg and it was delicious ! We had the tuna sashimi app and it was the best I have ever had! Excellent taste and preparation ! We also had the peach buratta , it was really good but riper peaches would have been better! My husband and I both had the excellent Caesar salad and we split the chicken schnitzel ! It was heavenly !! Can’t wait to come back! Service was excellent!!

Delicious and friendly bistro

By Hpyle |

Visited here twice now. Once for my birthday with our teen children, once sitting at the bar (we love bars with TVs/sports!) both times the service has been friendly and knowledgeable. Food delivery has been well paced. The food is well seasoned with a nice spectrum of options. I love the tuna crudo, hummus and more than anything the variety of options that will fit any palate.

Excellent Service from Devin

By Judy P |

My group showed up sporadically, one and two at a time until we had about 12 folks at the table. Devin never missed a beat: our drinks came quickly, appetizers were delcious, and she was gracious even as we kept adding people and changing places. I chatted with the Manager on Duty and she was delightful also. A great place to enjoy good food and drinks, with a friendly staff and efficient valet. It was packed on the Friday evening (July 26) we were there, filling up about 6:15. It was loud due to the very energetic patrons there, but a lovely venue, good vibe and clean restrooms!

First time and VERY impressed

By glenagrit |

At first blush this reminds me of a NYC or Chicago restaurant. Great looking bar taking about 25% of the restaurant. Smaller menu but great options. Ordered 4 courses and shared with my wife and each was delicious. Oysters, Grilled Octopus, Branzino, coffee and desert. Everything was really great. Nice wine list and impressed with the list by the glass. Good representation from many different countries. Really enjoyed the evening. Was really crowded for a Wed night. Will def go back soon!

First class

By John D |

We were celebrating our son's birthday and our anniversary and we picked the right spot for it. The atmosphere is modern and very nice. The service by the staff is outstanding and the food is excellent. I had the chicken schnitzel and it was done to perfection. Everyone else commented how good their choices were. They also make a helluva Manhattan.

Nice family dinner

By wxinms1 |

Was taken here by my cousin who lives nearby. It was an excellent meal, great service that was not intrusive. Food was excellent, I had chicken schnitzel and it was really good. My wife had a salad that she really enjoyed. We shared a slice of key lime pie for dessert which was tasty.

Festive New Years Eve Dinner

By Dennis B |

They had the restaurant decorated in a very festive motif for New Year’s Eve. Lots of balloons and streamers. Our reservation was timely. Service was quite good. Full menu was offered. The raw oysters are fabulous. The steak frites very good as well as bronzino. Drinks are all good. Very good food quality and atmosphere.

Perfect Brunch

By Paloma_SRdz |

Visited Dallas with friends and had brunch at Beverly's. It was delicious, the service was top notch, our waiter was the best, we were a party of 7 people and all of us agreed. They have indoors and outdoors (we were seated in the patio and it was lovely). Overall awesome experience!

Best of the best

By Shiva D |

One of the best new restaurants in Dallas. Everything we ordered was better than the last item - we got the crudo tostada, ceviche, burrata on toast, branzino, Shrimp scampi, key lime pie — delicious. Can’t wait to come back because there was so much on the menu we wanted to try, but no room for it. Service was fantastic too!

Very cool new Bistro. Menu is good. Wine list is too. Service was very nice. We liked the vibe. Great neighborhood gem.

Outstanding

By Jeff G. |

Beverly's is a class act from the greet to the farewell. Great indoor space with a beautiful bar and a great private patio. Staff looks sharp and has a professional, accommodating demeanor that is rare these days considering labor pool challenges. Where else can you go and get greeted by the owner, who also owns Clifton Club next door. Patrick the bartender is as good as it gets with friendly service and serious cocktail skills. So yourself a favor and go check it out.

Great casual fare

By Ray C |

In my quest to keep up with new openings, Beverley’s Bistro was on my list We like the open layout with spacious booths to converse & dine at.. The food was typical bistro fare with our samplings ranging from seafood (tuna crude, fried octopus, ceviche) & carnivore such a rack of lamb & chicken schnitzel All tasted good but I was surprised that my lamb came however well they cared to cook it. I normally order rare & this definitely wasn’t. The waitress seemed a bit harried as she took 2 of our 4 orders & ran off to the kitchen. Otherwise service was prompt & friendly Overall a great neighborhood go to

Hmmmm, wonder why it’s so busy at Beverly.

By Eric M |

I’ve been to Beverly a couple times and both times where quite different. The first time was a quiet Sunday evening a month ago where we gathered with friends at a large table and tried nearly everything on the menu. Was is good? Yup. Was it tasty? Yup. How were the cocktails? Delicious. And then we went again on Friday night and It was very different. Packed. A bit loud and lively. The food was again Top note. I had the salmon my wife went with the Snapper and our friends ordered the steak frites. Superb. Perfect portion sizes and flavors were on spot. (My only issue has to do with Keto-friendly options as the only choice was asparagus.) So, no real complaints.

Just the place for a drink or a light dinner

By mvbma |

This is a fine spot for drinks and a light meal. Excellent service and food quality: especially recommend the calimari and the onion soup gratinée. Valet parking, convenient location in Highland Park region of Dallas

Yes!

Excellent spot for brunch and the Dallas scene. Johnny was fantastic and made great suggestions on entrees and wine. I would go back for dinner.

Good Food Buj Very Noisy

By Dallas51 |

I tried this restaurant a few days after it opened and the food is great;, however, it is so noisy that you can hardly carry on a conversation with your table guests. The steak is very good and the wedge salad is good as well. Would definitely recommend for the food, but if you don't like noisy places this is not for you.

Won't be back.

By larry |

I recently found Beverley's through friends. I had read mixed reviews but was willing to see for myself. The ambience was fine, and we had very good service from a friendly young woman. I had read that the octopus was not so great, but wanted to try for myself. I found it to be forgettable. There was not much meat among the tasteless potatoes, and the sauce was terrible. My fish dish was cooked perfectly to my taste, but it had little taste to it. For the money, I will not be back.

Amazing new restaurant

By JNYFELER |

My wife and I visited Beverly’s Friday night with a friend of ours. Great new location off of Fitzhugh, walking distance from our house. We had the branzino, oysters, charred octopus, and onion soup. The meal was simply amazing with a nice bottle of Brunello di Montalcino. Service was spectacular, ask to be seated in Luis’ section. He made great recommendations. We plan on going back often, and the patio on the side will be nice to sit out on for the next couple of months. Kudos Greg Katz - a grand slam IMO!

Beverley’s Dallas...incredible!

By linda r |

What a great restaurant. And our server McKenzie is one of the best. Food was incredibly delicious. We shared it all. Beet salad, octopus, Bronzino and decadent brownie. All fantastic. Some of the best we’ve had. For sure to go back!!! Even met the owner, Greg. So welcoming!!! Truly a great dining experience.
