Such a hidden treasure!!! It was a referral from a friend and what a good find!!! Fun drinks such an amazing atmosphere!!! Would recommend for anyone that travels to Portland

We had charcuterie and a couple drinks each. It was an adorable space with a lot of prohibition themed design (great idea); a cozy speakeasy. Bartenders make strong drinks but they were balanced and well made. We went during Memorial Day weekend, and though it was a bit busy during the evening on a Saturday, we still found a seat no problem. Example of a couple drinks we had: Pinewood Derby, Log Road Legger, etc. We were not disappointed and will return. We had an enjoyable evening.

We had heard about a new speakeasy off the beaten path in Sellwood, so we stopped by...good thing we had the address...other than an open sign by the door...it looks like a house. We put our name in waited 15 min or so until they texted us that they had space. We fortunately go the bar and met a fantastic bartender, Jessica. she made us some great drinks and even went off script to make me a a made up on the spot cocktail based on a few questions about what I like. We had some amazing drinks and great conversation. We have been there a couple of times now. they don't have a lot of food options just yet and just opened up a patio space. I highly recommend this bar for some good create drinks and a great vibe

I get the sense that this is not the type of place you go to as your local watering hole--and that's okay. It's a cool, very hipster concept that I found delightful for a one-off visit. Basically it's set up to look like a speakeasy. There's even a light in one of the windows. Green means it's open for business. The decor is all period and is a lot of fun. The cocktails are all specialty. Oddly enough, I didn't care for what I ordered, but really liked my friend's and vice versa. The olives were to die for.

At first I thought my friend had the wrong address. It’s a house: there’s no sign indicating a bar or speakeasy. And that’s the point. If you gave the address- you’re in the right place. And then you walk through the door into a bar that would have fit beautifully in Midnight in Paris. A small comfortable space that’s welcoming with cocktails that are crafted with care, flair, creativity and flavor. Service is excellent and the drinks are served in antique glasses. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching drinks built, hay burned for smokiness in my bourbon drink, and ate tasty roasted Brussels sprouts and freshly baked breads served with creamy butter and honey. I can’t wait to return!

Cosy place tucked away just outside of Portland. Worth the trip to enjoy the awesome old school cocktails and vintage furniture. Such a cool little find and will definitely head back here next time in Portland.

I love the decor, ambiance and vibe in this bar. The drinks are all so unique and served in beautiful, individual barware (pretty sure they are all antique glasses). Servers and bartenders are super friendly and accommodating. I have tried four or five different drinks on different occasion and they have all been fantasitc. The drinks here are very pricey for the neighborhood, but I know that going in and we usually just meet here for one drink before starting our evening, or stop here for a nightcap and a sweet when ending. Menu is limited but everything I've tried has been delicious, especially the pot pie.

Stumbled upon Bible Club, walked right by a few times! Decor is beautiful with attention to detail. Lovely cocktails. Will be back!

My stepson who attended university in Oregon wanted to take his father and I to this place. We loved it! It was authentic and had an amazing vibe as we were welcomed by the host and entered into another world. Be prepared to wait on the porch if they are busy and dont have room for you. This only increased the anticipation level of entering!!! :)

We loved this place! It's tucked away on a side street, in a nondescript looking house. But when you enter, you are literally transported to a dif time! I was obsessed with the fact that every single detail of this place seemed handpicked + authentic: the lighting, signage, gorgeous glasses + dishes, music, and, of course, the drink menu, We all had unique + new to us drinks, snacked on the delicious pretzels, and really enjoyed our time here. It was the perfect place to have a cozy cocktail on a cold, rainy evening!

Is on on the 1st floor, it is open we are told by our host who lives in the neighbourhood. The place is opposite the post office!!!!!! As we entered the bar, we entered into a different world reminding us on the times of prohibition (the interiors, the music, the dresses of the waiters etc.) Service was great! And than the cocktails, just go for it. They are done with great knowledge and “love” to detail. Never had better one’s. What a place! Just go and visit.

This is my second visit to the Bible Club. I adore the dark wood and mirrored bar and appreciated the exceptionally knowledgeable bartender while my friend and I enjoyed a belated birthday celebration including drinks and the charcuterie plate. Absolutely delicious and delightful, I felt like I stepped into the set of Westworld. Definitely would recommend, it is quite an experience, not to be missed!

Great Ambience! The decor is amazing! And, the fact that it's a house and that the green light is representative of speakeasy days, makes this a cool place to try at least once. If you like feeling like a sardine such that you can hear exactly what your dinner neighbors are talking about on either side of you, then this would be a fun place for you. It is a tiny, tiny restaurant/bar. The customer service is fantastic. The cocktails are unique. We did not have any food, so I can't comment on that. Parking on a Friday night was surprisingly easy, but it is all street parking

Fun little spot. Inside was full when we arrived so we took advantage of the outdoor bar area until a spot opened up for us inside. Had an excellent cranberry cocktail. Fun, but don't know if I care enough to go back.

A friend recommended checking out Bible Club, a “secret” prohibition bar. The only signage on the outside is a doormat with Bible Club. An adventure to find it! Once inside you step back in time. The music, attire of wait staff, and all the bar ware fit with the era. We had so much fun and the cocktails were very good.

We surprised a friend with a trip to Bible Club for her birthday and it ended up being a great end to the evening, and quite the conversation piece! We did have a 20 minute wait mid-week, but it was certainly worth the wait. The drinks were very unique and very delicious, and the server was very patient with the questions we had about the drink menu. When the bill came, the server had included a birthday card that had been signed by the staff.....what a nice touch!

No one does hipsters better than Portland and this place is a great example. Its on a residential street in a unassuming old house....no signage. Small, great ambiance, house cocktails with up scale ingredients. Attention to every detail (lace bar napkins, good bar wear, unique decor, and waitstaff in vintage clothes)

Our favourite find on our last sojourn in Portland. Delightfully blended cocktails couple with delicious snack food, made this the perfect midday stop on our adventure. The venue is non-descript on the outside. True prohibition style. Inside, is a delight, everything is made to look old fashioned, right down to the pos system hidden in the giant bible. The decor is charming. A great find and highly recommended .

At first the place doesn't look like much because it looks like a house off the street until you walk inside. The interior felt like you were in the Prohibition Era, from the menus to the decorations on the walls. The bartender and server were great and very patient with us while taking our drink orders. The place was small and cozy with a relaxed ambience; which was perfect for catching up with an old friend. The bartender there definitely knows how to make a good drink and I would recommend checking out this place if you some free time.

Don't let the lack of signage deter you! Walk right on up to that door and enter! Inside is a wonderland of Prohibition memorabilia, and period-clad bartenders who can make you classic cocktails or one of their many botanical signature drinks. Great food rounds out the experience, and you've got a legit top-notch craft cocktail joint that's cool enough for a special occasion, but comfortable enough to be a local haunt.

Best kept secret speakeasy. Drinks and service are phenomenal. The decor transports you right back to the prohibition era. Go - if you can find it.

Arriving by Uber, we thought the driver went to the wrong location. No signs, only an older house on the side street. We approached with a bit of trepidation, slowly opened the door and entered....another world. The decor takes you back to a different era. All the decor is spot on prohibition. The staff is dressed in era clothing. Even the glasses are antique. Didn’t try the drinks but did select the beet salad and cheese plate. It went perfectly with the mug ‘o beer and a nice Chardonnay. The evening went to quickly and we exited to re enter the 21st century. Delightful!
Well worth a visit.
Quirky venue. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Fabulous cocktails. Not cheap but well worth a visit if you are in Portland.
