Seafood soup and clam chowder

By Olon |

I have had Seafood from many places but Big Al's is one of the best. I had the clam chowder and it is absolutely delicious! The Sea Food soup has huge portions too. Do yourself a favor and definitely stop and have some... you won't be sorry.

Good Food Huge Portions

By rnphatpat |

The crab legs were ok they were lacking spice but the chowder was really good . They also have a seafood chowder which was excellent , but they only sell by the cup yet it is enough for a ,light lunch .. along with the fresh bread and butter . The pasta Jambalaya was also very good portion enough for two will go back

Had a quick bite of half a dozen oysters and a cosmo. So delish!! A friend had the New England clam chowder and it was also very good.

Get the chowder

By Mary S |

Great chowder and salad combo. Hubby had Shrimp and grits which he said were just OK. Dessert is a pass, don't bother. Service was good. Convenient location o get a quick bite before a concert. Wouldn't make a special trip there.

Very good little seafood place!

By CMC22DMD |

Stopped in for a quick snack. Ended up with a meal. 2 lbs of premium crawfish for 18.00. Cooked to perfection. Would definitely return.

Wonderful restaurant

By Nikoletromm |

Leo makes the best Mojitos I have ever had, & I drink them everywhere! Nubia is Sweet as can be. My hubby and I moved, so we weren’t at the oyster bar for over 8 years, it’s still amazing! The food was absolutely delicious & my hubby and I had a blast! I can not wait to come again!!

Delicious food, delightful staff

By Mary B |

This was a good place to go with adult adult children. The full bar offers whatever you want, including some specials. The oysters were good, very large for shooters. In fact, the portions are large overall. The Jambalaya Pasta could have easily fed two, so order accordingly. The shrimp in the Jambalaya pasta were done perfectly, as was the spice level. It is a bit spicy, which I love! The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. Water glasses were filled regularly. We were there for an 8:30 reservation.

Really Good Gumbo!

By Napes12 |

Living in Florida I do not get cajun food very often. When visiting the Orleans casino in Las Vegas I noticed Big Al's and stopped to see the menu. When I saw seafood gumbo I knew I would be back. I came back a couple days later and was glad I did. I am not a gumbo expert by any means. I thought it was excellent and tasted like everything was fresh. Great job Big Al!!

I’ve gone to this restaurant before and while in town I visit the Orleans Casino and stop for a nice lunch at Al’s. Great seafood bar with lots to choose from and reasonable prices. We had friends with us who never tried the food at Al’s and they loved it and wanted to return. I had the shrimp scampi which was cooked perfectly and with the crusty bread it was on the spot delicious. Our friends had the clam chowder soup and the poor boy sandwich. Very good server who delivered the food hot.

Good Food HUGE Portions

By Lisa S |

Our dinner was good. It must have been happy hour because we had a $2.00 bloody mary (but the drink was just okay...bland and boring. I put Tabasco sauce in it that was on the table to spruce it up ). My husband had a cup of clam chowder and the chicken and shrimp carbonara and said everything was good. I had chicken scampi and it was very good. The portions are HUGE. Even the cup of soup was really bowl size. The prices have gone up quite a bit but it was good food.

Great chowder

By Marc_and_Kim_Z |

Stopped in for a quick lunch bite. Had the chowder and it filled me up. Had already ordered the poboy to split. Could not finish my half. It was so good but full.

It is like being in the Big Easy

By turnerfellers |

Gumbo is first class. Jumbalya is even better The portion sizes are generous to a fault more than fair price for great parts.... Check it out

SOUPS

By Terence G |

Clam chowder, tomato bisque, and the french onion soups are all fantastic. I know it is an oyster bar, but I love good soups!

Great food.

My favorite place to eat @ The Orleans. I will often travel to the Orleans just to eat here while staying at a better resort.

Best clam chowder ever

By wcwthredtennisshoes |

My brother told me to have the clam chowder. He was so right. Creamy creamy creamy. Served with hot sour dough bread. Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. If you get the opportunity to eat at the Orleans,. Make Big Al"s your first meal. We sat at the bar. The smells are incredible. There is so much on the menu I would like to try. The bowl of soup is huge. I am hoping I can finish it. The deserts sound so good. Hard choice. What's your favorite? Run don't walk.

Not expensive, good food

By Ray L |

I've been here a couple of times, and the food is both good and plentiful. You don't need anything more than an entree here. Fast service, tasty cuisine. A little loud if you're sitting at the counter, as I was, but that's part of the charm.

Crawfish were terrible

By Robert V |

Our crawdads were tough, rubbery and no flavor. We paid extra for the corn and half of a small red potato. Both were overcooked and nasty. Never again.

Phil

By PHIL W |

Was our first time at Big Als... we love new Orleans food, this was amazing.. had the chowder, jambalaya, and the po boy sandwich twice in a four day stay.. cant go wrong, gotta try this place

Better than expected

By Louise D |

We did not have high expectations when we arrived. We made a reservation and the host was not ready for us. However, the three of us ordered different items. ALL was excellent! Oh, the chowder! Could have eaten more! The food was very close to that of New Orleans. We will return.

Good chowder

By CruiseMoose |

We just wanted a light lunch and the clam chowder fit the bill. Unless you're very hungry get the cup rather than the bowl.

Oysters & More

By Menorca007 |

Excellent place for oysters and more the clam chowder is excellent also . Wide variety of beers and things to drink . We got seated fast the wait staff was very fast also . The bar area is great for single diners and speed. You need to stop here and have a nice oyster meal.

Birthday visit lunch

By Al A |

This is one of my favorite places to eat. The staff and food is exceptional...fresh sea food oysters, clams all yummy...if you go to LasVegas don't go here I want this for myself 😎

Not Goid!

By Chad R |

Food was not warm by the time it was served. Service was worse. The waiter was in the front talking to other employees, while our food and drinks sat on the counter! There was nothing positive about the experience! Will never go back.

Cajun yes

By James w |

I really don't eat oysters, but my wife does and according to her they were delicious. I on the other hand had gumbo it was very good and enough to feed a family of four. If you make it to the Orleans stop by and have some great food.

Just what i had hoped for!

By baummy617 |

We had Christmas dinner, here. It was fantastic! Oysters Rockefeller, chowder, stuffed shrimp special. WOW!! We loved everything, all at a surprisingly reasonable price. We will absolutely go back.

Boston Clam Chowder

By toham77 |

Very tasty and VERY filling. A little too much cream. It I would do again only this time a cup not a bowl. Too much food. The pasta dishes looked really good. All in all I would go again but probably more of a lunch than dinner spot IMO.

Disappointing meal

By Sonya Gibbons |

I was so excited to go to big Al's Oyster Bar tonight (December 28th) only to be disappointed! I eat quite a bit of clam chowder and I have to say their clam chowder tonight was awful! The potatoes were slightly on the hard side and it tasted as though it was sour or someone put something sweet into the recipe. I did not enjoy it at all :( I expressed that to the line chef behind the counter, who didn't say anything. I specified that I did not want peas in my meal and my rice pilaf had peas so I had to pick them out. After a second helping of vinegarette dressing, I was able to eat the salad. The bread was good and that's about the only thing I really enjoyed. Unfortunately, I probably will not frequent this oyster bar in the future. My meal was not worth what it cost. This bar needs to offer more soda selections also. Pepsi products only. Not everyone likes Pepsi

yummy

By rotoruacindy |

the food is fresh and yummy.place is clean.friendly and helpful staff.would come back here again.we had crawfish and crablegs and boston chower.

Best Bloody Mary!

By Clarissa T |

I arrived tired from my flight but hungry! So this place seemed appetizing enough. I was greeted by a nice and courteous waiter and was served pretty quickly. I ordered a clam chower and a bloody mary, some big crazy bloody mary they were promoting. It was delish!!!

No More Clams in the Sea

By k b |

Needless to say. The clam chowder is packed with clams complemented with potatoes. Rich broth that glides on your tongue and caresses your lips. Served with hot sourdough bread that is crisp on the edges and remains soft on the inside throughout your meal. If you have a small appetite the soup and salad is filling and perfect at a nominal cost. Any other dish can feed two, even if you are a hungry bear. It is recommend to buy different dishes and share because the dishes are savory and gratifying. Yes, the food here captures authentic New Orleans vibe. Nice dining for locals or travelers. Eat-in, take-out, room service. Cash, debit/credit cards. Accessible friendly. Gender friendly. Ethnically respectful.

Great Food and Service!

By 0627Pam |

Four of us went to dinner at this restaurant tonight before a basketball game. Both couples shared the Shrimp Scampi, and it was very good. It had plenty of shrimp, the sauce of flavorful, and the noodles cooked to perfection. We also was given a basket of bread after we sat down. It was fresh, and tasted great. Mercedes was our waitress and she was exceptional. She was quick, accommodating, and checked on us. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great seafood for seafood lovers

By Mike L |

Great oysters Rockefeller....The chowder is good and available in manhattan or new England....Good spot for this place in the Orleans Casino.

Great food

By Carole N |

Had another great meal on a Sunday here at Big Al's Oyster Bar , seafood chowder always a winner , crab salad is also a winner fantastic food as always with a great atmosphere, helpful , friendly staff worth a visit if you like seafood .

Food good- service, not so good

By mzcc2000 |

I ordered the crab cakes and steamed oysters. Both were delicious although the visual presentation was not appealing at all. Not to long a wait to be seated. Great menu choices and atmosphere. One negative- my crab cakes and oysters were served at the same timed. I ate the crab cakes first then asked to have my oysters reheated but got lip from the cook/chef by telling me I should have said something to the waitress at the beginning. Excuse me! I didn’t think I need to give ojt on proper serving etiquette.

Cajun seafood at the Orleans Casino

By Fred G |

Big Al's recently had a makeover of sorts. The seating area was expanded, and the decor made more reminiscent of New Orleans. Service was excellent; glasses were always topped off and the staff kept checking in with us. The Manager was very hands on, leading by example. The food was very plentiful. I had the shrimp po boy, and the fried shrimps were jumbo, heads & tails removed, so that they could be consumed in the sandwich. So much shrimp, we had half of them "a la carte"! The shrimp & crab boil was a ton of food. They do offer "to go" containers designed for soups and wet stuff -- so you do not have to deal with those Styrofoam boxes tilting and spilling. The side salads were only $6, yet they were full bowls with gourmet greens, cucumber, carrot.

Just ok

By li_walk |

The food was nothing to write home about and service was ok. Drinks were super sweet - not a fan. Overall it was just ok.

Just Avoid

By Simon R |

Nothing good to say here: oysters were without flavour, and their seafood chowder tasted like everybody's leftover dumped into a bowl with some water and cream. On the positive side: Beer selection was good.

Delicious Seafood & Service!!!

By angelinmpls |

I ate here 2x while staying at The Orleans. The seafood chowder was ahhhhmazing! It was chunky and creamy. I have to say this is one of the best chowders I have had. My husband enjoyed a D.C. huge portion of the jambalaya. The creole sauce was a bit spicy. It had seafood, sausage & chicken. The softshell crab po boy was super fresh and delicious. I left fat and happy both times I ate here. I will be back!!

The best

By Bruce B |

Highly recommend the fresh clams. Oyster Rockefeller was incredible clam chowder spectacular. You can't go wrong at this place great atmosphere.

Always great oysters!

By LisaCarol54 |

We've enjoyed oysters on the half shell here several times. This time, with another couple, we sampled some other seafood dishes. Not a bad one in the bunch!

Wow....Big Al's is Great!

By Richard F |

Stopped to have some Oysters and sat at the food bar. The chefs were very friendly and we watched them open my oysters.....They were so good I had a bowl (large) of seafood chowder....OMG great....So I tried the Alaskan King Crab Legs which came sliced in half.....NICE! My wife had the Shrimp/Chicken wrap and the steamed clams and she thought they were great. We will be back next time in Vegas!

Las Vegas' Best Kept Secret

By Noli G |

If you are craving for seafood while in Las Vegas, look no further. Big Al's Oyster Bar is located inside Orleans Casino and Hotel. It is right next to TGIF, and is open to the casino floor. The oysters are suprisingly fresh, the Seafood Chowder (New England and Manhattan Chowder combined) is absolutely sublime. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprise, to say the least.

Raw Oyster treat

By jacksmack76 |

We stopped here for a raw oyster treat after bowling upstairs at the Orleans. We ordered 2 dozen for our small group of 6 and we were not disappointed. We sat at the bar and watched the chefs work their magic - - all the food looked fantastic.

Everytime in Las Vegas

By lanceboy4 |

When we visit Las Vegas we have to come to Big Al's for the seafood chowder. Sit at the bar it is a great time to watch the chefs prepare the food. Go at lunchtime for the raw oysters, you can get a half dozen for half off. Great deal

Big Al is worth the wait

By suzy808 |

So amazingly good! We didn't know what to expect; but they exceeded our expectations. Friendly service and very accommodating. My mother is in a wheelchair so they quickly set a special table for us. We started with the half dozen oysters--nice presentation. Then, we had the chowder, nice and creamy with lots of clam bits of potatoes. We also shared a seafood cobb salad. Since we were sharing it, I preferred ranch dressing and my sister wanted blue cheese. They gave each of us a little serving dish of our preferred dressing. Yummy!! Then, our entree came -- shrimp scampi over linguine. The pasta--al dente--firm enough to the bite, yet soft enough to absorb the wine-garlic creamy sauce (kinda like Alfredo sauce, but lighter). My brother had a heaping bowl of crawfish. It had a slight kick to it but not too spicy. Delicious! See photos! I would definitely come here again when I'm in town.

When they say "hot," they mean it

By JRichards1972 |

Large portions, tasty food, and fast, friendly service. I was at a conference at the Orleans and tried Big Al's for lunch. They served my food quickly and I had enough time to eat and still take my leftovers (enough for another meal) up to the room and still get back to the conference in time for the afternoon session.

When you have the best... Who needs the rest...

By MacTalarens |

We have been coming to the Orleans Hotel for approx 20 yrs. Each time we visit, we think we might 'spread our wings' and try other seafood restaurants in Vegas for a change. BUT... it would be such a disappointment next to what Big Al's chefs create for such a reasonable price. Mercedes is our go-to-gal. We consider her a part of our family. We have known her since she started working at Big Al's and our friendship has progressed into sharing family stories (good and bad) and having some good laughs. Her personality is bubbly and she takes great care in doing her job and tending to her customers. It's a pleasure to watch her work. (We still want to know what you write on your order pad.... LOL) The dinner chefs - Juan, Danny, Josie have the knack in creating wonderful, tasty meals. Keeps getting better. BTW... Bring back the Orange Roughy... Every time we visit Big Al's your staff stop at 'our' table (high top in the corner at the front) and say 'Hi' and 'Welcome Back' and 'Good to see you again'. Makes us feel like family. This last visit we had the pleasure of meeting Craig. Such a pleasant person to talk with. Really enjoyed hearing about Vegas history from his point of view. We have seen over the years staff come and go. Some sadly and some probably for the best. You have a terrific crew working the dinner shift. Sorry we haven't been to the restaurant during the lunch shift. We feel it's not appropriate for us to make a comment, although we're sure they are just as pleasant and professional as the night time staff. Ok... people want to hear about the food. There is nothing on the menu that would be a disappointment. Everything is well prepared and delicious. Although, I really miss the Orange Roughy - it was my absolute favorite. The Seafood Chowder is the BEST!!!! Seriously, for the price, you get MORE than what you pay for. See you in November!!!!!!

ate dinner there our final night. The portions are fantastic and the price was reasonable for what you got.

Disappointing shrimp cocktail, undercooked orange roughy

By huskiesfan2015 |

I went there mostly for the shrimp cocktail, which in the past has been good. This time it was not. For some reason they decided that the "regular" cooked shrimp was not good enough and they marinated the shrimp in some overpowering spices. Not to mention it was undercooked. The portion was generous, but they hijacked the taste of shrimp cocktail. On top of that, the tiny portion of cocktail sauce was not enough and my orange roughy was undercooked. The staff was nice enough but the food for me was not acceptable. Not cheap either. Based on this experience I wouldn't go back again, which is a shame. The shrimp cocktail used to be good.

Our "must go" has changed for the worst

By Vinnie1973 |

We have always loved Big Al's so going there was a "MUST" and it was such a disappointment. They have changed the menu; raised the prices and service was terrible. I'd give it 1 star if the chowder wasn't so good. The ceviche; which I posted a picture of last year has gone up from the $9 I paid in December to $15 and the portion is smaller. We ordered the chowder - a big bowl and our Coors Light in the bottle. Then we took a look at their menu. They had a "special"; $25 for pound of King Crab Legs; cup of chowder and craft beer draft (1). Since we ordered the chowder and are Coors Light drinkers we asked for a pound of King Crab Legs at regular price and were told no, no way. Gabriella told us the only way to get King Crab Legs was to order the special and they would not make any exceptions. We were definitely disappointed. We've been coming to Big Al's for over 10 years and could always order what they are known for - crab, oysters, etc. a la cart. Ready, willing and able to pay any up-charge for this. We couldn't believe it. Gabriella would not budge so we left and I doubt we'll be back.

Large meals, good prices

By JRichards1972 |

There are two things that you should know before going to Big Al's Oyster Bar. Number one, the portions are huge. Number two, if they say something is spicy, they mean it. I come from the Midwest so my exposure to good seafood is minimal, but I always enjoy visiting Big Al's whenever I'm at The Orleans because the food is consistently good and the service is excellent. The last time I was there, I went with a friend who grew up in a seaside resort town in England, and he said that it's his favorite place to eat when he's there.

Best chowder of my life!

By tashacrystal |

It’s been two months since we visited and this pregnant lady can’t stop dreaming about the UNREAL clam chowder and can’t find anything comparable up here in Ontario! Let me know if you guys figure out how to ship it, I’ll buy a years supply!

Lunch with flare

By 1petworth |

Had a great lunch the seafood was great, very large portions and good selection of beer and drinks. A little noisy but all in all it was great

They have the best...

By TayC08 |

The food here was okay, but they have the best oysters in Vegas. The Rockefeller oysters are definitely worth a try. I took my husband here for father's day (he's from New Orleans and is a very picky eater-and he was pleased especially with the oysters). More great places to eat and stay with photos can be found @Collins2Collins on Instagram.

Want to go Big Al

See Food

By FastGirl39 |

Had some great shrimp here, the seafood chowder is delicious. Sit at the bar and watch the chef kick butt creating wonderful dishes out of about ten steam kettles. He kept them going g constantly. So fun to watch. Crayfish, crab, shrimp, oysters, clams, scallops WOW! Great smells coming out of this place.

Made me feel like I was in the Big Easy

By JetteEatsDrinksandTraVels |

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was prepared quickly and it was fresh. The crawfish and bread were delicious!! There was a laid back, warm vibe and guests were easily engaged in conversation with one another which reminded me of being back in the Big Easy. I would definitely make another trip to Big Al’s.

Excellent service, serving excellent food.

By daddy1020 |

We were hungry and found Big ALS. The service is top notch and the food is amazing. The y have awesome seafood items. The crabs cakes are yummy. Even the chicken salad was fpgreat. They serve big portions. We highly recommend eating here.

Excellent

By carmen m |

Came for supper and all the tables were full so we were given the option to sit at the bar which we did. Even though it was full service was fantastic, Daniel looked after us. He was very busy but always smiling. The food was amazing, we had seafood chowder, clam chowder, oysters Rockefeller, and seafood boil. Won the cook, was cooking right in front of us, very friendly as well. Huge portions, very good pricing, we had to take some to go. Wished we had been in town longer because we would have gone back.

Best Oysters in Vegas.

By DrewMel72 |

Always a good time at Big Al's. Even when I'm NOLA nothing beats the oysters and food I get at the Orleans in Las Vegas at Big Al's. From the pasta to the chowder you cant go wrong.

Good food and Large portions

By Monique S |

Had an early dinner at Big Al's and we were pleasantly surprised. It is in Orleans' casino and the food was good and reasonably priced. One order really could be split between two, possibly three people. We ate and took our leftovers which provided two more meals.

Amazing chowder

By MichiganMarie |

We always get the Boston clam chowder. Excellent. Large sandwiches also if you don't want a full meal.

Now another Orleans Casino Restaraunt to eat at.

By mike w |

We always eat at the Prime Rib Loft at the Orleans, but this last night our appetite wasn't enough for the 24 oz. prime rib. We decided to go lighter at Big Al's, good decision. I had the parmesan crusted orange roughy served over rice, nice flavor and lite enough that I was able to finish the entrée even though I wasn't that hungry. The other 2 guests I was with had different types of pasta/seafood that was served in a huge serving bowl. Both enjoyed their entrée, but neither finished because of the quantity. We also purchased a bottle of red wine for $8 that had better flavor than more expensive wines. We go to Vegas often enough that I feel that we now do not have to leave the Orleans to search for any of our meals.

Something to bet on in Vegas

By Blnaq |

I have been here several times prior, but this last visit a few days ago was beyond and over the top fabulous. I had the king crab legs dinner which comes with a bowl of soup and a drink. My son had the sampler (see picture) and it was full of crab, shrimp, fish, sausage, etc etc etc for less than $30. We ordered a dozen oysters on the half shell and it was wonderful. The entire bill for 5 of us (including drinks) was $200 with tip. The food is genuinely delicious and the prices are reasonable. I always try to stay off the strip when eating (Orleans and Gold Coast) and I have never been disappointed. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back to Vegas.

Great Cajun Food

By gypsylady002a |

Located in the Orleans Hotel and Casino, it is a great place to get Cajun food. They have a lunch and dinner menu and we stopped in for and early dinner. They brought us a basket of warm French bread while we looked over the menu. I got the Jambalaya Pasta – Andouille sausage, chicken, shrimp, tasso ham, peppers and onions in a Creole sauce served over Fettuccini for $18. My husband got the Linguini and Clams – chopped clams in a garlic butter and creamy white wine sauce for $19. The Creole sauce was not real heavy and spicy like some Creole sauces can be. You get a generous portion of food and it was excellent. We had some leftover for lunch tomorrow. They also offer a number of salads and sandwiches if you want a lighter meal. There is plenty of free parking available in the garage or surface parking.

Orleans Oysters

By RosenTony |

Wanted to visit an off trip casino so chose Orleans what we didn't know there was a Oyster Bar. Wasn't busy on arrival around 7pm but really filled up fast. Ordered Boston creamy chowder and ceaser salad combo $15 each and a sharing plate Rockerfella oysters $25 plus a couple of beers the bill was $90 inc tip not cheapest eat in Vegas but was something different.

Too much food

By Oldcowboy413 |

Went for dinner and had lunch once too. Soup is outstanding. At dinner had shrimp & scallops with noodles. Very large bowl with lots of seafood. You could easily split one entree between 2 people, delicious but none of the 4 of us could finish the Large bowl of food. Waiter was informative but not overly attentive which was nice. I will eat here again.

Good eats and drinks

By MEKeller |

My husband and I enjoyed a meal there when we were in Vegas last weekend. It is located inside The Orleans Hotel and Casino. We had beer and wine with our meal of dinner salads plus splitting the Shrimp and Chicken Carbonara dish. Our drinks were suitable to our meal, the salads were large with fresh ingredients, and the pasta dish was delicious. We will be back the next time we are in Vegas.

What a gem! Best horseradish!

By CSCTravelAgentKim |

Started with the Bloody Mary and it was a meal in itself. Next was the seafood chowder and it was full of seafood. Next was oysters on the half shell...OMG they were HUGE! I am grateful the server warned us about the horseradish, because it was the hottest I have ever had. Sat along the rail as was the suggestion of another reviewer and it didn't disappoint; lots of interesting people to watch!

Great

By Jwvv |

Better food than expected. Lunch here was a pleasant surprise. The Boston chowder was a very large bowl and excellent . We will return.

Big Al's Oyster Bar at the Orleans ... a feast for the senses and taste buds

By 278doreenf |

I always make sure to go to Big Al's in the Orleans at least once when in Vegas. There is one problem however, their portions are WAY too generous (if that can be considered a problem). Their food is overflowing with flavour. You can sit at the counter and watch the cooks doing their thing, or at a high stool by the railing and watch the casino traffic, or be tucked away in a booth. Their pasta and seafood is overflowing with flavour and is so delicious.. Shrimp scampi, bowls or cups of chowder ... seafood chowder is my personal favourite ... and everything is served with delicious warm bread! What more can I say!

It's ok but not as good as it was

By trn81 |

Had a late dinner there today and the chowder was pretty good. The seafood sampler was just kinda blah though. The crab and oysters tasted like they were old and leftover. The service was very good and the prices are high.

Lunch

By Elizabeth R |

First time there, was recommended to try the Oyster Bar, we shared a dozen oysters, the seafood platter, seafood chowder comma and New England clam chowder, it was extremely good, we will be back, staff was friendly

Really Good Gumbo

By jmarlow74 |

I was shocked to find some pretty tasty gumbo in Vegas. Coming from SC where you can get good gumbo at the SC coast, the GA coast or just take a trip to New Orleans, I wasn't expecting it to be so good. My wife enjoyed her meal as well and had a cocktail that was great.

Sea Food!!!!!

By Theodora H |

Weeks before our trip, we made the decision to dine at Big Als. My husband and I ate there a few years ago, and were delighted that the quality of the food and service hadn't changed at all. I love New England Clam Chowder, and Big Als didn't disappoint me! So good. A bowl is an entire meal, with a side salad. My husband order the Bouillabaisse, which is chock full of clams, mussels, crab..and we are talking a big bowl here! Delicious! Topped off with a bottle of wine, our check came to less than 75 dollars. (The bouillabaisse is expensive but worth it) You can call for reservations, but walk ups are welcome, too! Enjoy!!!!

Kirton dinner

By rrosol |

I may have reviewed this in the past but I just love this place! Great, and I mean great food and service, always more than you can possibly eat! Sit at the counter for a show of how they prepare the meals.

Mercedes is the bomb.

By Stephen S |

Recently had dinner with my father at Big Al's oyster house at the Orleans's. The menu is full of delicious choices and is was hard to choose an entree. Our waitress Mercedes was so knowledgeable of the whole menu, she steered my father and I into what can only be described as an epicurean delight. True Louisianana dishes, gumbo's with rice and shrimp and scallops with fettuccine OMG, so much food and so delicious, Mercedes took care of us for sure, so friendly with a super smile, Wow, can't wait to go back and try some of her other favourites dishes. Best darn food I ever ate, cheers

Great Cajun place

By KDJERO |

The wife and I split the shrimp and crab boil for lunch and it was perfect. The spice was on point and except for splattering my shirt with boil juice, I couldn’t have asked for a better meal.

Great Food, Generous Portions

By USExpat1nUK |

Three of us went here recently; my family had been here before and raved about it. They were not wrong! First, book a table. It gets very busy and is not large. The restaurant, popular with the locals, is located in the Orleans Hotel and Casino. We were seated immediately and our server promptly took our drink order. I had a cup of the New England clam chowder which was some of the best I have had! For our entree, two of us shared a bowl of pasta; the shrimp and scallop pasta. Warning! A dish of pasta is HUGE! Two of us barely made a dent in it. The prices are very reasonable especially considering the huge portion size. I will definitely go back again but this time will just get a huge bowl of the clam chowder!!

Phenomenal

Started with half dozen oysters, then finished with a bowl of seafood chowder (Red and white clam chowder mixed) Perfect flavor and service... I will be back!

Yum

By TNT |

Excellent seafood chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. Price was just right at fifteen dollars. Would absolutely visit again.

Not bad, not great.

By Laura C |

It was pretty middle of the road for me. I felt the seafood was a bit overdone and not very flavourful, which made it not worth the price, in my opinion. The oyster shots were fabulous though.

Differnt kind of seafood place

By panzer03 |

We have eaten here in years past and it remains consistently good. The bowls are generous portions and well cooked. This is not a diet place.

Located in South Pointe casino and hotel

By pirateis48 |

Clam chowder and seafood lettuce wraps were good, husband wanted more of the seafood wraps. Clam chowder was filling. Didn't care for the muffeletta it was a little dry and not enough olive tapenade.

Great menus choices

By DYA717 |

I had the salmon panini for lunch and it was great. Great atmosphere; great, fast, friendly service.

Fresh and delicious

By cmudri |

Visiting Big Al's has opened my palate to new and exciting foods. Highly recommend fresh oysters and their oyster shooters. The food was fresh and flavorful, and served promptly. Service was fantastic for our party of 12.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

By Alan N |

All the other restaurants had a wait time so we just happened to check this place out and was seated immediately ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Didn’t like the layout of the place but it is what it is⭐️⭐️⭐️. Clean though and spacious enough as to not feel like it was cramped to make the dollars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Service was fast and efficient. Food came out quickly too⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Boston Clam chowder was excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Linguine and clams was good but needed a tad more flavor IMHO. Loaded with chunks of clams and crab⭐️⭐️⭐️. Pricing was fair for location⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Delicious

By Vegas Gar |

Always good when I come here. It's on the casino floor of The Orleans hotel/casino. Usually don't have to wait, but I know they have peak hours. You can sit at the bar (which I prefer) or there are small tables and booths. The people working have been very nice and pleasant. They work hard, so make sure to tip accordingly. This last time, I had the shrimp cocktail and chowder. The rolls are really good, too. Hard to go wrong eating here. Delicious!

One of the best moderately priced oyster bar

By Moonlight |

A staple at the Orleans. We often stop by for fresh chucked clams and oysters after a movie. Old fashioned seafood bar that is moderately priced, unpretentious and family friendly.

Oyster bar

By crankyfranky2 |

Great place. Good happy hour. Service is slow though Oysters happy hour. Oysters Rockefeller were great!

Wonderful seafood!

By Angie W |

One of the best New England clam chowders I have had. The seafood was delicious and service was impeccable. We will return!

Get the oysters!

By Susan L |

The oysters were exceptional, the salmon was delicious, the atmosphere was smokey due to the casino. If you don't like smokey stinch, sitting at the back of the restaurant might be much better (at least I'd hope it is!).

Huge Portions!

By NWTFTOM |

I ordered a dozen raw oysters and the Linguini with Clam Sauce. Both were excellent and there was sooo much pasta I couldn't eat all that they gave me.

Quick Friendly Service

By Magician-on-the-go |

In early August 2018, we were attending a convention at the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. One day we decided to have lunch at Big Al's Oyster Bar. We had eaten there one time before and enjoyed the meal. Service is quick and friendly. We decided to give it another try. On this visit we had a situation arise that was promptly handled by Lisa, the on-duty manager. Lisa was professional and took care of the issue discreetly which we appreciated. She is certainly an asset for Big Al’s. The food was as we remembered, good and prepared fresh and hot. If you have a chance to visit Big Al’s next time you are in Las Vegas, do so and we hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Lousy service, small, noisy, food just okay

By John G |

Waited forever for a waiter. Seemed bothered we were there and it wasn't busy. Oysters were very large - almost too large to eat raw. Just okay, nothing special or worth driving to. I won't return.

A Unique Dining Experience

By michaelcH4849PE |

Al's Oyster Bar is in the Orleans Resort Hotel and Casino. I have been going there for years. The menu is nothing like any other even though the titles of the dishes are what you have seen before. You sit at a bar so to speak and watch these special chefs cook your meal in front you in 8 or 9 unique (again) steam pots and wonder why you didn't get the other meal. But eventually you come back and try them all. i. e. Bourlebaise, Jumbalaya, Clams linguini, Bucket of crab legs and/or steamed clams, San Francisco seafood dish with broth over rice and a host of fresh oysters and clams to eat raw. An experience, again, I needed to share with you.

Great Oysters!!

By Qbeing |

Really great find inside The Orleans. We had the dozen raw oysters and the dozen raw clams. Both were so good, we came back the next day for more. We also had a bowl of seafood chowder the first day. The bowls are BIG, so make sure you are hungry. Probably the best chowder I've ever had. There was way more seafood than potato - shrimp, scallops, and crab. Prices were okay, considering what you are getting. Service was good. We were there just after opening time both days, and there were not many other diners.

Great Seafood Gumbo at Big Al’s

By Scott G |

I had the Seafood Gumbo at Big Al’s tonight. Way more than a normal mortal can eat. It is spicy, hot and absolutely delicious! Tons of seafood in there. It will transport you right foam to Louisiana! If you like seafood and Cajun spices, this is a fantastic choice. The picture shows what is lest after I gave up !

Crab was great and service was, too!

By Travel_guy_opinion |

Visited Big Al's on a business trip and dined with a friend. I had the crab and shrimp boil and he had a gumbo. From the bread to the last shrimp, the food was outstanding and the service, led by Abby, was attentive and knowledgeable. Abby did a great job with our table and I saw her running around to all of her tables bringing smiles and good food. If you like seafood and you want good service, go to Big Al's and find Abby!

Great Food

By BiLLYiZME |

We really enjoyed Big Al's at the Orleans Casino. The clam chowder was great and the shrimp wrapped with bacon was to die for. Will definitely eat here again.

Good dinner

By Beachbum2473 |

Big Al's is in The Orleans Hotel. Since we were staying at The Orleans, it was a convenient choice. The place is pretty small, and we had wanted to eat there on earlier occasions, but they had a decent wait for a table. Luckily I was able to snag a table during my last night there. The staff was all super friendly and service was very good. The menu had a pretty good range of options. I had the shrimp and scallops over pasta, and it was really, really good. I didn't try the desserts, but I did have one of their house cocktails. It was really good too. Al's is the only restaurant in The Orleans that I thought was really tasty and worth the price. I would definitely recommend Al's Oyster Bar.

Best Oyster's Rockafellow in Vegas

By Patricia H |

I have been going to The Orleans Hotel for years and never stopped in Big Al's because my husband doesn't care for seafood, but I love it. Recenly we did go in together ad I ordered the Oysters Rockafellow. Oh my gosh, these were outstanding. They fixed pasta with chicken for my husband which we both shared as it was a huge bowl. So delicious. We both went away satisfied and happy. Will definately go ack soon again.

A+

By Lynne L |

We ate here twice this week. The service was very good, as was the food. Highly recommend the clam chowder. I'm not a seafood fan but it was delicious.

Sit at the counter; watch them cook.

By T K |

Go to Big Al's when you are hungry. Friendly and helpful staff. CAUTION: their Gumbo has scant roux and NO okra, but it is still good and plentiful. I enjoyed it too often.

Excellent chowder

By Veronica100 |

Dropped by for lunch during the Continental Cup of Curling when the hotel was extremely busy. They were fast, friendly and food was great.

Fantastic Food!

By P9152PVkt |

Try the 1-lb King Crab Legs and Chowder! Food is served in 'Large' portions so bring a friend!!! Steamer Clams is good too!!!

Best Clam Chowder ever!!!

By Mark H. |

This is one of my favorite places to get something to eat. Clam Chowder and Oysters are amazing. I tried the Jambalaya on my recent visit and it was awesome. The portion size was way too big and they don't sell half-orders. They need to change that. This place appears to have fired everyone who were long time employees. That seems strange. Usually understaffed now. Not good.

No Return

By mhd423 |

My husband ad son had lunch here before heading to the airport for our flight back to the east coast. Was not impressed at all with our meals. Clean with good service but will not be returning.

great tasting

By Hamachi2014 |

The food has always tasted great and especially the oysters and soup. The soup is huge and can feed two people. I would try to go during the off peak times because staff are nice but for some reason they have a hard time handling the crowds. Even the house salad is pretty good value and don't be afraid to try their pastas. Bread bowl is our favorite and such a hit that fills up even the big eaters. Go with a empty stomach.

BIG AL'S OYSTER BAR

By mike s |

Great place to eat seafood pasta.seafood salads, oysters . Excellent service and friendly too. Out of the main strip but worth a visit.

Good service and tasty food

By Michael R |

Our group of six was very happy with their food and with the service. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and the food came out to us very quickly. Two rounds of oysters, gumbo, crab legs, soft shell crab and more. Great find in the Orleans.

Great Restaurant, you have to go if you love seafood

By davidsg99 |

We stopped at The Orleans casino to check it out. I saw BIG AL'S OYSTER BAR and we decided to have dinner there. I ordered a bowl of the Seafood Chowder. My wife had the Chicken Carbanara. My Seafood Chowder was $13 but boy was it worth it. The bowl was huge. It came with this big piece of a baked type of cracker. All I can say is that it was the best Seafood Chowder I have ever had. If you like this kind of thing, do yourself a favor and go there and have what I had if you like seafood.

Best Crab Cakes this side of Maryland. Great Service.

By Darius M |

Great Service and Really Great Seafood at Big Al's Oyster Bar inside the Orleans Casino. The Crab Cakes are fantastic as is the Shrimp PO Boy. The New England Clam Chowder was very good. It's doubtful you'll find better in New Orleans! Prices are good too! On Tropicana a bit West of the Strip. There's plenty of free parking!

Love the clam chowder!!!

By JILL F |

We had oysters on the half shell and the clam chowder as a snack, in between lunch and dinner. It's a small restaurant, but the staff was super nice and our food came fast. And the chowder was hot. Came with an oversize saltine cracker. Really enjoyed it.

Too much of a good thing

By westie2 |

We were doing a coupon run at a couple of Boyd casinos and happened to arrive at the Orleans at lunch time on a weekday. The restaurant was not busy so we settled in at the counter. It took awhile for anyone to acknowledge our existence, but we finally received menus. My wife and I each ordered bowls of Boston clam chowder not realizing how large the bowls were. The chowder was very good with lots of clams though those were a little too chewy, but our meal proved to be too much of a good thing. Should we find ourselves in a similar position, I would limit my intake of chowder to a cup.

Happy As A Clam

By Luv2Compete |

Late night visit to Big Al's was the best decision we made all weekend. We showed up at 11:30pm (place closed at midnight) ordered the half dozen oyster on the shell and since we sat at the counter we had the luxury of watching the chef prepare some meals before ordering. Chef Danny made us a custom seafood pasta (not on menu) and it was by far the best meal I've ever had anywhere. Staff was pleasant and accommodating despite the time. It's a must try if you like oysters too. They were the bomb. Check it out, the restaurant sits inside the The Orleans Hotel & Casino.

Awesome Clam Chowder

By Angie W |

Al's is always on my "must visit" list when I come to Vegas. The Boston clam chowder is one of the best. Oyster Rockefeller are always good. Seafood is fresh and delicious. Sad to see "Big Al's Special" (Lb. of king crab legs, cup of soup and a drink) is no longer available. TIP: for you servers out there that think you can memorize an order rather than write it down, most of you CAN'T. Our server forgot my husband's jambalaya. When I was nearly finished with my meal, we asked where his jambalaya was. She did not even remember him ordering it until I mentioned he ordered it over fettuccini. By the time it came, I was finished and we were charged for it (shouldn't have been, in my opinion). PLEASE write orders down, no matter how "good" you think your memory is. Thank you in advance.

Fab New England Clam Chowder

By 617debrah |

A very tasty lunch of Chowder served with lots of warm bread and butter. We also had the crab cakes, very delicious too. We will stop here again when in Las Vegas.

Very happy we came

By Anne C |

I was a little worried about eating here as some of the reviews were less than stellar. We had zero complaints about anything! Our meals (lobster mac and cheese, oysters and crab stuffed shrimp) were delicious! The flavour was exceptional, the service was top notch, portions were filling and pricing was reasonable. I am very happy that we have it a try and will hopefully be back to Vegas again so we can come back here.

Love Big Al’s.

By BunnieinOregon |

We never miss Big Al’s while in Las Vegas. I think everything they serve is good. We split a bowl of chowder and still had leftovers! The linguine and clams is one of my favorites but it is one to split. The wait staff are super nice and attentive. You can sit at tables, a booth or the bar.

Date night

By Leyla P |

We loved the seafood chowder, a must have it again. Everyone is good at making sure you have what you need.

Fresh and fun!

By Genii S |

Oyster shooters rock! Service is quick and friendly. Been many times and no matter what the food is awesome!

Great Clam Chowder

By Linda D |

The atmosphere was very casual. Located right off the casino floor. The clam chowder was awesome. Crab legs and oysters were also very good.

Bland food - not impressed

By MooreVegasFood |

I was not that impressed with the overall food at big Al’s. The gumbo was not seasoned properly and the noodles were extremely bland. The dessert I got wasn’t tasty either. This place is also pretty pricey when you factor in the quality of the food. I do not plan on going back. The one upside to this place is the waiter was nice.

Great service and food!

By Shannon D |

This was our last meal in Vegas and I had to leave a review simply because the staff was so exceptional and the food was good. The entire staff stayed on top of everything and maintained exceptional service the whole time! I would definitely recommend

Best cajun in town

By Mark C |

I have enjoyed every visit to big Al's. Everything is great and the portions can be shared by two in most cases. We always eat at the counter to watch the cooking show. Our chef has been there for 17 years since they opened. I will always stop there first when I visit Vegas. I also have a timeshare within a mile.

Great tasting food!

By Alma R |

First this is an amazing place with huge portions, beware that one dish will feed two or more, they have an amazing variety of creole cuisine at great prices, service is fantastic and I will be returning for another great meal!

Excellent food

By William B |

We stopped for a late lunch. Restaurant was not busy and were seated right away on a Saturday. I had the seafood soup bowl which is Manhattan and Boston chowder mixed with scallops and other items. It was very good and not heavy. The oyster rockefeller was great too. The service was TERRIBLE. After receiving our food and the bill, we never saw any server again. The food is great 5 stars, just beware of the lack of service 0 stars.

Food was awesome, but the server lacked you the understanding of her title!

By Randy J B |

I love Big Al's! The food is insane and the amount you get for the price rocks! Ask for seating along the rail so you can people watch and oh boy what a view..... I had the Cajun gumbo (Fabulous)! My better half had the salmon and all was good in the world that evening. I had to beg for our server for another beer and the check. Hopefully you fare better. I highly recommend this place. Like the wall Donald is building... your going to love it...

My girlfriend loves oysters...

By FMK1035 |

This will be the 2nd time my girlfriend and I have eaten at Big Al's. My girlfriend loves oysters and enjoys the ones at Big Al's. I appreciate a good bowl of clam chowder and would rate Al's slightly above average. Other highlights are the complimentary sourdough bread and the Cesar salad. Bottom line you can get a quick and yummy seafood meal here for a reasonable price.

Bouillabaisse is great

By Bob S |

The food was worth the wait. As you can see in the pictures there is very limited seating (an arced bar) It is on the casino floor of the hotel and the wait can be up to standing more than an hour in line. Best bouillabaisse we've had in a long time. They ask if you want to increase the spiciness. Next time I'll say no (although I only upped it to a 2 on a 9 scale. We will hit this restaurant every time in the future when we travel through Las Vegas

Family friendly

By Joey H |

Family and I had dinner here tonight. Had the linguine and clams which was good. Large portions. They serve fresh bread which delicious. We had the sampler platter. Nice respite from the casino noise and the sadness of watching the Knights lose in Game 4 of TSCF.

Great Pan roast with mixed seafood

By Thomas W |

We had the pan roast with mixed seafood and the Lobster scampi. The pan roast with mixed seafood was outstanding. We will come back again.

This used to be a must-stop place for clam chowder

By SalfromIL |

But not any more. We hadn't been here for a couple years and the quality of their chowder has gone way down hill. Where their chowder used to be filled with clams and the other ingredients just added to the taste, the current clam chowder is pretty awful. It's filled with potatoes and a few clams and the cream portion is floured up to make it thick. It tastes like chowder form Golden Corral. What a disappointment.

Friends for dinner

By Carole N |

Took friends for it was there first time there to the Oyster Bar didn't start well . We put our name down for a booth told 20 mins , when we were called we were assigned 3 chairs at the bar ..... Then had to wait another 30 mins as our booth was given away . The young big guy in a white shirt who thinks he's the maitre d didn't care less that in total we had waited an hour before we sat down and seems to have a bit of attitude problem . Once seated the service from Mercedes was always the best in Las Vegas the food was as good as ever and our guest want to bring there guests for dinner here . So it started off bad but we all had great food and great service avoid the guy on the till and you'll have a enjoyable evening with great food .

Best value Cajun style Oyster Bar Bar None

By DayTrip45362175101 |

I have eating here many times and have never been disappointed .being from New England but currently living in LV) can tell you hands down it is the best Boston white clam chowder in the city. The blacken grilled salmon plate is a value compared to salmon at most places and all of their dishes are more than enough for one person you will always take home extra .again you get more than what you pay for and everything is served with their delicious hot bread. And great service as well.

Excellent!

By 663kathyc |

Fairly priced, good seafood. Great service and staff! Chef Juan has been the 18 years. Sit at counter for full experience.

Chowder

By Darlene L.A. H |

Great chowder, huge bowl enough for 2 !!! I will be back!!! Located inside The Orleans Casino, off the strip super nice clean , huge bowling alley upstairs!!!

great dinner

By evilelf |

the gumbo was excellent. crab cakes were spot on. bacon wrapped scallop were a skimpy portion at only three smaller sized scallops

Good Cajun Style Seafood in the Orleans Hotel and Casino

By Jennbthetraveller |

Big Al's Oyster Bar never disappoints. My husband and I enjoy eating here even though there are newer, trendier restaurants on the strip and new hotels. If you like cajun-style seafood (think New Orleans), you should try this restaurant located inside the Orleans Hotel and Casino. Being from Texas, I know what good seafood is, and Big Al's is pretty good. We ordered the crab cakes ($25 bucks for two), shrimp and scallops Rosa (it's a sauteed mix of shrimp and scallops in a tomato cream sauce served with linguini) with rice instead of the preset linguini, and one Caesar salad. Drinks are good and ambiance is fun for a big group as well. Mojitos were refreshing too with a generous pour. The portions are large enough to share between two people. Come hungry! 5/5

Don't Save Room For Dessert

By BeenAroundTheWorld |

Fantastic meal. The Boston clam chowder was one of the best I've ever had accompanied with some great bread. Dessert looked and sounded great, but was a bit of a let down.

Much more than oysters

By busteezmama |

Delicious food and nice presentation. Prices reasonable for the quality and portion you receive. Had the linguine and clams off the lunch special menu and the seafood cobb salad. Both were very good. Fresh, warm bread brought to the table with your drinks. Wonderful service and overall experience. We will definitely be back!

Excellent Food and Service

By Jonnie58 |

Wow, Ive been coming to Vegas for many years and didn’t know about this gem of a Cajun restaurant existed. Top quality food and the service was impeccable! Our server Manny was exceptional! I will definitely return every trip I take to Vegas. Loved every bite!!!

Unbelievably Great Food

By HPOA |

Omg this was one of the best in casino restaurant I've eaten at in Vegas. First and foremost the serving size is for king Kong lol. I ordered the Pasta Jambalaya $18 and my husband ordered the Louisiana Gumbo $19 and we were expecting normal portion size. The bowl came and we were like WOW. The taste was spicy and very new Orleans style. I must say if there are 2 people and they want the same pasta just order one because there is no way you can finish it all and if you aren't going back to a room with a microwave there going to be a lot of food left over. It's was so good and the service was great too..please please try this restaurant inside the Orleans casino!!

The food may not be what you like if you are from New air leans, but this I place just has good food.

By G8523SUpeterp |

Love the Gumbo, as was a great seafood dish on rice, in my wheelhouse. Do not care if is not. Traditional preparation, I just like it.

Great food consistently

By Me'Chell K |

We’ve had dinner here several times. Everything we’ve ordered has been delicious. Our favorite is the Pan Asian Grilled Salmon. It is accompanied with a mixed green salad and rice pilaf. Great filling meal for a great price.

This is a must try

By whatone4fun |

The experience, let alone the taste is worth a try! You will not be disappointed in the portions and flavor.

Great Service, Fresh Food

By Kevin T |

Three of us went in on a Sunday night. We were looking for a regular dinner, nothing special. Ended up with a Burger, Sallad/wclams on half shell and a cajun jambalia. Everything was very fresh. Service was great and food was a good value. We wou;d definitely dine their again.

Very Good!

By PlanetR |

Seafood chowder was very packed with chunks of seafood. Very tasty and rich. The crab stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon was delicious. Service was average. Took awhile to be acknowledged.

🤙🏽🤙🏽

By Alan N |

I was craving grilled/Bbq oysters and couldn’t wait to chow down. I had a garden salad. It was okay. Clam chowder was more like potato chowder. Oysters were small and not as tasty as I expected it to be. Price it was okay. Service was excellent.

good service, mediocre food.

By eremitic |

We started by sharing an order of crab cakes. 2 cakes and a plate full of salad. The cakes were cooked properly but were mostly filler with a little crab. Wife ordered stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon and they were fine. I wanted crawfish but was told they get them frozen so I changed to shrimp and crab boil. I expected snow crab and was pleasantly surprised to find small red king crab legs to go along with potatoes, corn and terribly overcooked shell on shrimp. This came in a large bowl of broth that contained some small pieces of andouille sausage. Some of the crab was very dry as in freezer burned. One piece of corn on the cob was sweet and delicious while the other had a couple black kernels and didn't have much taste. I have eaten many crab and shrimp boils but never with Alaskan crab. Only crabs the cajuns use are blue crabs. It didn't make me feel like I was back in cajun country and I doubt the food they served would be accepted there. The highlight of the meal was the desert. Wife ordered coffee flavored creme brûlée. It was not bruleed (burned creme in french) but was a 2 layered desert that was more like a custard on top and a soaked cake on the bottom and it was delicious. One appetizer, one desert and two entrees and tip was about $90.00 without drinks. Would we go back? Probably not.

Soft shell crab

By Poodlesue |

We love this small restaurant inside the Orleans casino. My favorite menu item is a soft shell crab po'boy with a cup of clam chowder and a cherry beer (making myself hungry just writing it!). The soft shell crab is available any time we've visited and I never see it on other menus. The service is always good and games of the season play throughout the space, so you can stop in and sit at the bar for a beer and oysters, or at a table or booth for a full meal. Their fruity coleslaw is also great as is their jambalaya and other fish or chicken entrees. We love going to the movies upstairs, then trying our luck at the games and finishing with a delicious meal. We're going back next week and I can hardly wait to get my crab fix!

One of my favorites

By VegasRon |

Orleans is my home casino now and for the last year (about 8-9 trips). Big Al's oyster bar is where I practically live excluding breakfast. I found a new favorite, the seafood chowder. It is a mixture of New England clam chowder (white) and Manhattan clam chowder (red) with added crab, shrimp and scallops. Heavenly. With the complimentary bread, a complete meal. The pan fried Asian salmon was terrific also. I travel solo so I always dine at the bar. This oyster bar is one of the many reasons that the Orleans has become my home casino.

Dinner at Big Al’s

By David F |

We ate dinner two nights straight Bug Al’s. Both nights the food and service was extremely good. The oysters on the half shell were excellent. I had Boston clam chowder both times as I am a big fan of it. The bowl was very large, gumbo size, and I couldn’t finish it. My wife had bacon wrapped prawns one night and a Cobb said the second time. They were excellent, the prawns were large and the crab in the Cobb salad was large chunks. Would highly recommend eating there during your stay at The Orleans.

Best Oyster Bar in Las Vegas

By Padresfan |

Oysters on the half shell: 5 stars Clams on the half shell: 5 stars Gumbo: a million stars Ciapiono: 5 stars Drinks: 4 stars Service: 5 stars This place is outstanding. Oysters were fresh, Gumbo is amazing. The dude shucking the oysters (sit at the oyster bar) was so friendly and prompt, respectful, thank you! If there was one thing i would suggest is a larger beer and fine whiskey selection. This place is legit!!

Awesome food!

By Amy K |

I had oysters Rockefeller and soft shell crab. Very delicious food. Will def be a go to place on every visit to Vegas.

Huge Portions!

By 676latashap |

My husband and I visited Big AL's and were pleased by the service and portion sizes. He stated the oysters were "just ok" but the crawfish was really good. I had the shrimp scampi (lunch portion) it was huge and big enough to share. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

Great Food , Fast & Friendly Service

By Mark P |

I made reservations online for 6:30 since that was the earliest I could do and then I called them to see if I could get a 6 pm seating and the lady said sure . We got there are 5:50 and they had a booth reserved already and sat us immediately !!! The staff there are really friendly and they get your orders right and get it for you very quickly. The food was really good. I had a Caesars salad and the Ceviche, my Wife had the Cobb salad which was delicious she said. The restaurant was very busy and it was amazing how quick they were getting orders out. The menu is really good and prices aren’t bad for this type of a restaurant. I don’t think you can go wrong ordering anything on the menu. I hope you enjoy like we did . We were going to a concert so sorry I didn’t take photos to add but it was really good

OK crawdad boil

By Peter G |

Disclosure - I love crawdads. I was drawn to Big Al's b/c I was staying at the hotel and they had crawdads on the menu. They weren't too overpriced, but the boil was remarkably spicy and flavorless at the same time. OK, but not enough for me to want to come back.

Yummy

By Terry L |

We’ve been here several times. Everything we’ve ordered has always been good, Big portions, good friendly service. Inside Orleans.

Ss

By SCOTT S |

I ordered the oysters Rockefeller that were very good. On the entree I had the crab legs with shrimp. The shrimp were so over cooked they were hardly edible.

First time having oysters

By cmudri |

We had a family dinner at Big Al's. It was my first time having oysters and I am hooked! Everything was very fresh. Loved the oyster shooters, on the half shell, and delicious cocktails.

Excellent Seafood At A Fair Price

By H3887FPmarkh |

This place is wonderful. Big portions great prices. The food is so fresh. Located in the Orleans hotel. You will be amazed with the food quality.
