Professionalism in the restaurant industry is difficult owing to the current trend of the business model. So, I'm never surprised when a restaurant such as Billy Can Can has many of the right ingredients but just cannot pull it off owing to the lack of focus on the front of the house. Food here is good. Decent selection of wines at expected (3x-4x) price points. Service from the host to the waiter was subpar, regretfully.

Dropped in to try a new spot in Victory Park. We made an advance reservation with no problem. The manager greeted us in arrival amd made us feel welcome and special. Everything was perfect We lived sitting at a window booth near the entrance. My compliments to the Manager and staff

New opened at the time I went .. just a late post !!! It a cute Lil place in the victory park area ... I would say that if ur looking for good food but light simple bite this is the place.. Food - I order the $35 bone in pork chop.. (wish I could underline the amount ) lol the pork chop doesn't come with no sides or nothing just the pork chop and lil corn sauce at the bottom . It was good and little ... Could I have gotten this at home for less yes.. Definitely would go back but be ready to spend $50 bucks with drinks ..

This is in Victory Park, and has a very creative bar and food offering. The drinks are unique blends of whiskeys and mescals. The food is a fun blend of flavors that won't disappoint. The atmosphere doesn't let you forget that you are in Texas. I enjoyed it very much!

We arrived on time for our 8:15 Saturday night reservation. They were running late and we had to wait. Nice looking restaurant and bar. Pretty loud in the bar and main restaurant area. We were seated at 8:40. Manager felt so bad about the wait, he brought us 3 appetizers on the house. Venison tartare was delish and so full of flavor (I never would have ordered it so I'm glad he brought it over) . The puffs with cheese sauce were only "okay" to me and my husband but our friends liked them. We all loved the Snapper Crudo...really good. Our waiter was outstanding! The service was great. Our table was near the side window and it was not too loud at all. Good cocktails and wines. For dinner we had: Scallops with grits, Skate Schnitzel, Roasted Snapper and Butcher's Steak Frites. Everyone loved all the entrees. Large portions. The frites were the best ever-they were perfection! We shared the Brussels sprouts (outstanding) and the cornbread (a MUST!). Our waiter brought us an order of the mashed potatoes because HE loves them so much and wanted us to have them. He was right-they were awesome! All in all, highly recommend. Good people watching, interesting food combinations and suburb service.

Perfect for dinner before a concert at American Airlines Center. Tender, flavorful Butcher's steak frites. Fries were cooked to perfection. Flaky, perfectly seasoned scallops & chowder entree. Crab cake appetizer so fresh and light. The skillet cornbread was the showstopper! We were pleasantly surprised by the higher ed service from the entire waitstaff. The service was 5 star and the food was wonderful.

An amazing place... mi husband called it “delicatexan”, a texan gourmet experience in the heart of Uptown Dallas in Victory Park. Totally worth the visit. The place is beautiful, the food great and different.

Billy Can Can certainly Can!. Perfect relaxing atmosphere after a fun day in Grapevine. We settled in for a quiet night and were utterly impressed. my wife's food issues were handled very very well. our meals were fantastic. the service was brilliant. the price was surprisingly modest. Five Stars to BCC.

The steak was tender, flavorful, and amazing. The service was good and the weather was perfect for an outside table.

We live in Dallas. Should have come here sooner. But had an event at AA Center so came here afterwards right when they opened (5pm). Wow. It filled up very fast. We sat at the great bar--if you're bar people this is your joint. Friendly, fast service. They know how to make a cocktail, pour a beer. Food was really good. Fish dip, burger, (a perfect medium) fries, all tops. Their "come back" sauce...kicky but good. It's not published (I don't think so) but they have a happy hour from 5-7 where I think they said TX produced alcohol is reduced...worth asking about.

The Victory Park area is quickly becoming one of the best places to visit in Dallas. Billy Can Can is a great addition to the neighborhood and the perfect spot for eating and having a drink before any event at the American Airlines Center. The steak that I had was excellent and the craft beer was as well. I would place the food somewhere between mid-range and fine dining (dress was casual, although the environment is otherwise more upscale - this may have been because I was there before a hockey game, however).

Excellent innovative menu at high end chic Texas Saloon. Great service by our server Ryan in describing the day’s specials. Especially liked the Tile Fish special.

Stayed here on a bed and breakfast stay but we did have lunch here on day one. Lovely central location rooms really modern and clean, comfortable beds and pristine bedding and towels. Great choice of breakfast cereal, orange juice, full English toast and tea. Staff we're really friendly helpful. I would definitely recommend this place

This place is AWESOME! The food is spectacular and the craft cocktails are great!! The cornbread is literally the best we’ve ever had!! Would recommend the deviled eggs as fun starter. Everything we had was so fresh and flavorful. The staff Was also amazing!!

The review from the Dallas Observe got us interested in trying them. We are SO happy we did! Service was outstanding. Drinks were outstanding. Food was outstanding! You must go there!

I had a wonderful dinner here while I was visiting Dallas. Both the food and service was top notch. It is definitely a restaurant I look forward to coming back to.

Great space for a business supper. Phenomenal service and nice meal. We did not opt for an actual Main dish but instead had multiple appetizers. Did not disappoint! Women… bathrooms are pristine!!

Wonderful....husband and I ate here before a concert and the food and service were excellent. The banana pudding is amazing.

Billy Can Can is a saloon with great food. It is a great place for large groups. If you want a more intimate setting there is a dark paneled dining room. There are a lot of odd stuffed small animals (taxidermy) that some might find off-putting. My wife and I were here for our Valentine dinner a night late. Perhaps not the best setting for a romantic dinner, but the food made up for it. We shared a special pasta dish as an app. Our server had recommended it as an app and confided it was really too small for a main. It was a great start. I had the special filet which was fork tender as promised, but also with great flavor. My wife had the snapper which was nicely cooked. We split the Brussels sprouts which were really good with big chunks of pork belly. Since I had meat and my wife fish, we ordered from the ample list of wines by the glass. We finished with the mini donut dessert. To die for. Service was very professional.

Dark, Wild West Saloon with a Texan spin on it. You could spend hours in here drinking and eating the day/night away. Lots of creative cocktails and delicious appetizers. Our favorite was the Deviled Eggs (6 half eggs: blue crab, candied bacon, crispy country ham, pickled okra, pickled shrimp, smoked paprika). Did not disappoint. We shared two main entrees, the swordfish and snapper and they were so well seasoned and went so well with the mix of veges and sauce on the plate. We also make it a point to try crispy bussel sprouts wherever we go, and these were pretty tasty. The restaurant will validate parking if you valet. Great place, getting alot of attention, so take advantage and give them a try for date night, happy hour, or night out with friends. They have a cozy restaurant area as well as an open bar area for whichever occasion it calls for.

We stopped in for a drink to this unique and special restaurant in the Victory Park neighborhood. We were amazed about the level of libations and highly talented bartenders. Joe kept our taste buds amazed with his creative cocktails and made sure we had drinks that matched our tastes. Food was so good, with the deviled eggs and fish dip are a must from the appetizer menu. Look forward to going back very soon!

An excellent and fun time. We had a group dinner, and the service for the 14 of us was great. Drinks were varied and a nice selection of beers on tap. Meals were unique and tasted. Service was professional and efficient. I would certainly have this on my return visits list.

Well, I would have liked to rate this restaurant higher. They do have some things going for them - Decor - Vibe - Menu - Taste - Pricing Our party of 7 was seated at a very nice and quiet table in the back room where we were able to converse without the ambient noise of the main room. My issue was not all all with the quality, it was the preparation. I sent my Manhattan back because it was off flavored with who knows what ingredients .... the replacement was better but not enjoyable. The Little Gem Caesar salad was plentiful and delicious, however the greens were certainly not Little Gem lettuce which costs much more than the baby Romaine they used. The 8 oz. steak frites was way short of being 8 oz. --- 5, 1" x 2" thin slices of beef .... not too impressive in a Dallas steak centric world. Too add insult to injury the temp was way beyond the "warm red" center promised for medium rare. However it tasted fine. Although the fries were well seasoned they were barely more than 10 degrees above room temperature. No complaints whatsoever on the Barbecue Chicken Sandwich. Lastly the waiter (who I will leave unnamed) blew us off when we asked about any specials as he left the menus. He said he would tell us after entering the drink orders. It would have been nice for him to take the 20 seconds to tell us before we perused the menu. Caveat Emptor

I recently attended a business dinner at Billy Can Can. The atmosphere is one of a re-created old western saloon. For our meal I found the service to be satisfactory but not excellent. The food ordered by our party was hit and miss. The hits were brussels sprouts, puréed potatoes and ribeye steaks. The miss was the Buffalo steak which was not tender at all. If you plan to have dinner here I would recommend that you plan to spend $35-$65 per person before tip. On a scale of 1 to 5 I would rate this as a 3 to 3.5 overall.

Great vibe bar, with a very mixed crowd (it's not you typical post game sports bar), rather a really good mix of a few fans, a few on the town, and some cool groups exploring the Victory Park area of Dallas for its bars and restaurants.

With all the positive reviews my guest and I were surprised with maybe an off-night. The place is lovely and the decor and staff are excellent. The pear and arugula salad with nearly inedible do to over salting something - maybe the dressing. We were sharing it so we picked a bit and let it go. The trout was out tonight, but cod was substituted. It was just OK, but not great and at $32, well overpriced for a 3z small cod fillet. Dessert of Banana pudding was delish. Again the server was excellent, so not sure if we just hit a bad night, but I would not rush back or recommend. At the end of the meal, we mentioned the salad and they took it off without asking, which was the right thing to do and appreciated.

Ate here with a big group so forced to pick from a limited menu. The food was basic and priced moderate. Service was pretty quick for a big group. Check the wines as some were poor.

My sister and I visited Billy Can Can for dinner and were delightfully surprised! The service was spot on and the decor of the restaurant has the feel of an older saloon. The place is clean and the food is wonderful. I had the duck and my sister had the burger. We started with the deviled eggs and all was luscious! I would recommend Billy Can Can to anyone looking for a fun experience. Looked like they offer large tables for parties.

Billy Can Can was our first meal in the Republic of Texas and it was chosen as it was near the W Hotel and it was buzzing. I wanted Texas food (spicy) and wine, but my wife wanted simple fish and chips and French Rose wine and we both came away very happy. The atmosphere is just right and our server, Thomas G, was excellent. We look forward to returning.

Please read my other reviews so you understand how rare a scathing review is from me. I am incredibly disappointed in my experience at Billy Can Can. Cost for this miserable experience for 2 people: $151.00 + tip. Reservations for a week ahead, seated immediately in a quiet booth...right beside the bathroom, which had a leak (not their fault) above them. Ladders, workers, water, etc. the whole meal. Burnt corn bread came out first, my wife had it the week before and loved it. This time, not so much. Shocked they even delivered it to the table. Completely black. We tried to eat around the charcoal, but finally sent it back. It was only the second time in 8 years we have sent something back at a restaurant. We just don’t believe in sending food back. A new skillet was provided quickly which contained correctly cooked cornbread. I would advise they change the name to sweet and sour cornbread. The seasoning on top tasted like sour patch kids. Not a fan. Next up, salad and cup of chili. Chili was good. The salad was fine. We should have stopped while ahead. The main course arrived: blackened snapper. Snapper was very overcooked. Rice was fine, but no idea why they call it dirty rice. The green tomato chow chow was tasty. The meal size was far below average, it is to be expected from a nicer restaurant. (Glad I sampled the chili). We also tried the fries because the menu said they were hand cut. I am a sucker for good hand cut fries. What they should say is they are truffle fries. Truffle is a very distinct flavor, of which, I am not a fan. I had 2 beers, wife had a mixed drink and a glass of wine. Again, priced as a 5 star restaurant. This is not an experience that I will repeat. After tip, the total was $181. The service was subpar as well, but I don’t agree with servers making $2 an hour in 2020. I still tipped 20%. We had to find him to reorder drinks and appetizers. Food took 30+ minutes to arrive. The two stars is basically for the chili. If I had not had the chili, it would have gotten zero stars or even -1 stars if possible. This place is a gimmick seemingly aimed to the tourist or corporate visitor crowd. I can’t recommend it in any way.

Dined at Billy Can Can a few weeks back and had a great meal. Made a reservation for 8:00pm and they were running a bit late, it was no problem we had a drink at the bar. Only waited 10-15 mins but the hostess checked in with us a few times making sure we were comfortable. Our server, I want to say..Denis? (please forgive me as this could be wrong) was amazing! He walked us through the menu, answered any questions we had. We started with the venison tartare and then buffalo tenderloin. The tartare was soooo good. I'd go back just for that dish alone. I'd definitely revisit Billy Can Can in the future. Had a great time.

Went after a Mavs game. Been here 30 minutes. Got my water. Overcrowded apparently. No one has talked to us and no one entertains our existence.

I recently came here with a group of women and we had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was probably my favorite part, but the roasted snapper was absolutely delicious as well. The crispy Brussels sprouts and deviled eggs were also quite tasty. This restaurant was fine dining without being over-the-top. No one on the staff was pretentious, a huge pet-peeve of mine at nice restaurants, and our waiter was especially helpful.

Had the opportunity to try Billy’s Can Can and was blown away. Sat at the bar and had a fantastic time chatting up the bar keeps. The food was fantastic. Strongly recommend you try the Deviled Eggs. The stake and quail were beyond description. I am a fanatic when it comes to my fry’s and theirs were fantastic. I want to say this is a must try, but don’t rush I want to enjoy it before it is too hard to get into.

I was fortunate to dine here while on a work trip. The ambience was great for hosting our group of 10, as the setting was well lit, not too loud, and cowboy rustic art on the walls. The oyster sliders were very tasty. You order them per the item, and one would be enough for each guest, as they are pretty filling and there is so much other good food on the menu. I LOVED the wild boar schnitzel. It was well breaded and served with a sauce I believe is similar to an aioli. Great for two and great for 10. I’d recommend this restaurant as a stop to dine while in Dallas.

Enjoyed Billy Can Can a few times in Victory Park. Great menu, excellent staff, fabulous cocktails. The restaurant can be a bit noisy, but overlooked in the company of friends, family and good food. This area would be even more fantastic if the city of Dallas would place more emphasis more on cleaning up the streets and parks in the general area.

Chose Billy Can Can for my birthday dinner and an excellent choice. Service was perfect and enjoyed the food, although some items could use a little editing. Grouper sun choke special was highlight of the meal. Liver pate, smoked fish dip, and steak and frites all very good. Oyster slider- needed more oyster, less other stuff. Fried quail - cooked perfectly; however, even though I love spicy foods, I would have preferred that it wasn't Nashville hot style - too much for this beautiful delicate bird. Another highlight was the banana pudding - a little too sweet for my taste, but that didn't keep me from eating every bite. Main dining room is noisy and bright, so get the backroom if you prefer quiet and dark. Also, I put on the Open Table reservation that I was celebrating a birthday, and no mention of that, but that's okay.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the service at Billy Can Can. They offer a variety of dishes that are far from the plain ole dinner menu. Give it a try and enjoy a stroll around the area. Fun for date night of with friends.

If you are downtown for a game at the American Airlines Center, seek this place out! Whether you are looking for a great meal or just great drinks from amazing mixologists, Billy Can Can, CAN and does, everything EFFORTLESSLY. I love a dive bar because of the easygoing atmosphere and often limit my upscale dining and drinking in search of something more lowbrow. I was in town visiting for the weekend and stayed very close to the AA Center. While walking around in a t-shirt and jeans I happened past this place on Thursday night about 9. I noticed the vast selection of bottles on the shelves, and since I was in need of a stiff drink, I sauntered in for nightcap before heading home. 3 hours later I walked, with a bit of list to port, out on my way back to go to bed. Jimmy the bartender was an incredible host to my friend and myself. He was super knowledgeable about almost every bourbon on the shelf and even turned me on to a Texas "bourbon-ish" bottle that was so good I sought it out Friday morning and took it home in my checked bags. BCC has an amazing well bourbon that would shock the discerning palate of any bourbon aficionado. BCC is much more than just a great place to get a drink. I went to the Stars Game on Saturday, when we got out of the game we were hungry for real food and decided that we should try the food and more innovative takes on classic cocktails. Walking in without a reservation and in jeans and a hockey jersey was like walking in in sports jacket and collared shirt. We had to sit at bar table, but we sat down immediately and our service was impeccable. The food was amazing, from the appetizers of dueling sausages, with in-house mustard, pickled vegetables and peppers, and slaw; all the way through the tomahawk chop and beef tenderloin, with sides of mushrooms and the most delicious, savory, perfectly charred Brussel sprouts. It was definitely a notable meal and perfect way to cap off an amazing weekend. How much did I pay for all of this plus two drinks a piece? Less than $150 with 25% tip for amazing service. This is a must go establishment if you are in the area.

Although everything we ate last night was delish, all I could say was "OMG that cornbread". Having grown up in the South, I am used to eating lots of dry, flavourless cornbread. Billy's cornbread was like no other. Overall, the food is good at Billy's and the vibe and service make for a perfect night out, but don't miss the cornbread! :)

Our son picked Billy Can Can for his birthday dinner. None of the four of us were disappointed. The interior was Texan but a modern version of a Texas saloon. The front room and bar area are light and wide open. The back room is completely different, dark, tight and clubby. I love the offer of choices of the feel of the room aka Dean Fearings. We started with cocktails from their interesting and diverse selection. We tried several cocktails and they were all pleasing. The Sonora Showdown was as Mexican as a drink could be with saloon made Tepache, a concoction I have read about but never tasted, along with mezcal and tequilla. Its taste is hard to describe but definitely with a south of the border flair. The Apple Fancy was incredibly smooth and slightly sweet with Irish whiskey, apple brandy and sherry. The Gristmill was reminiscent of a manhattan but more citrus forward. The creole cocktail was likewise sort of a manhattan but with more smoke and citrus. They are all some of the most creative and taste provoking we have tried. The food was likewise superior, especially in its variety and lack of adherence to a "theme". Instead it had items that were Texan, like the chili and cornbread or venison tartare, the very French gougares and chicken liver pate, or Italian influenced duck paparadelle and pumpkin ravioli. We tried for starters the gougeres, the deviled eggs and the snapper crudo. The gougeres were were airy and flavored with pimento cheese - truly unique. The snapper was fresh with a tart and acidic dressing that I could have eaten by the spoonful. The deviled eggs had the lightest yolk filling I have ever tasted. For entrees we tried the scallops and grits, the duck pappardelle, the chili, cornbread, and the bouillabaisse special. They were all exceptional especially the cook on the scallops, the quality of the grits, the texture of the paparadelle, and the tenderness of the duck. The one disappointment was the bouillabaisse. While the flavor was acceptable it was served lukewarm which was not acceptable. Tips: Try the back room. I love its dark, intimate feel Hospitality Factor: Superior. Our server was outstanding. And it is so fun for $10 to buy 6 beers for the kitchen and ring the bell.

If you like dining in a very loud and crowded bar this is your place. Better to get tables toward the back. But it is meant to be a saloon vibe more than a restaurant. I did have a good meal as did my companions. Beef and fish both good. Bar very lacking. Bartender did not know how to make one drink and sparkling rose for a friend served room temp. Yuk. Better to visit on a slower night. Friendly helpful hostess.

We had reservations before a concert at the AA Center. You can leave your car there during the concert and the venue is within easy walking distance. Our waiter was one of the best we have ever had and his recommendations were spot on. The decor in the main dining room is romantic and low lit but if you want a more lively experience eat up front near or at the bar. Our steaks were so good we cut them with a fork. Seafood was also beautifully prepared and delicious. I would classify as an elegant steakhouse but folks were both dressed up and casual and everyone seemed to be having a great experience. Go there!

Had dinner at the bar while traveling on business. Burger and fries were delicious. Nice big bar. Wine selection was nice. Cocktails looked really good also. Place looks brand new. Music played was cool. I could see myself back here very easily

The service was beyond exceptional. Everyone was so knowledgeable and friendly. The food was on the same level as the service. The steaks were incredible.

We visited Billy Can Can for our anniversary dinner and it was wonderful! Delicious food (I loved the sides - especially the cornbread and mashed potatoes - as much as the entree) and great service. We’ll definitely be going back!!

So good and very unique! We lived that they served wild game which is rare to find. Buy a round for the kitchen and they ring the bell!

An original setting and a cool mix of the French and American vibe makes for a terrific dinner destination. Start the evening at a well appointed bar in the middle of a well-sized dining room and continue onto the table where a full dinner would be served. Appetizers are whimsical and the mains are solid and well presented. And do not skip desserts - they are worth leaving room for!

Busy Friday night at Billy Can Can - but energetic servers do a great job taking care of a fun crowd. The mixologists at the bar we’re excited about my recent trip on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and asked me to try a few specialty Bourbons - I reluctantly said ok. 😂 For dinner - we loved the deviled eggs, Brussel sprouts and a cheeseburger. Donut holes and banana crème for dessert - big time yum! Efficient valet process for $5.00 parking. Great visit.

We were not there for an event but would consider this an option for when things open back up. Probably not good enough to drive to Dallas just for dinner. Waiter was ok. Not bad but not great either. Food was good and we tried a few different items. Pork chop was really good but strip was not even as good at Salt Grass. Worth a try if your in the area. Probably more of a 3.5 in my book.
Great new find in Victory Park
We came from out of town for a concert and met another couple here for dinner. We made reservations to assure we would have plenty of time. It is in a great location for the AA Center. The place has a really cool vibe and is low lit. Our server was nice enough but definitely not overly nice. They are pretty proud of their food price wise, we thought it was a little steep but were aware of this before we went. We enjoyed the assorted devil egg appetizer. My fiance and I both had the buffalo tenderloin and it was good. If I was to return I would try something new though. The brussel spouts were absolutely wonderful. Overall we had a good experience.
